"Was it rained all night It was bad. That's why I got matches before got. We spent more time at Walmart we stayed in Walmart that is camping if you think about it was. Fun It was fun. But like I also going to Emma city girl like I like there. There are different things that I would like to be a part of that I don't just want to be in one box if you're gonNA put me in a box better be a really fucking big box like a cube. With allowed dimensions, a lot of dimensions. So maybe a box wasn't the right term but like a cue when you're talking to a guy, how do you wish he approached like anything your earrings, your tattoos like how you're coming across interested in like movies and books like, Yeah. What's the best way to approach if you were a guy? I think. Staying away from sentences like. I've never met a girl like. It kind of freaks me out if I'm the first woman that you've met. WHO LIKES Who has a personality who likes? I don't know I just think that that's kind of bizarre and then also like And I'm not doing the like. I'm a cool girl thing because that drives me up the walls. Well, here's the thing I don't like football. I don't give a shit about it. I'm never going to give a shit about it. I still love myself and I think like when you're like. Hey. I. Don't like football and guys like L. You don't like sports. You're immediately in this box just like when I say I, like no country for old men I'm immediately this like. She's a cool girl with tattoos and she I don't know like you can. I can watch their brain work. Yeah. While they're thinking that. And for some reason, that's like Edgy and fun and I'm like I am so boring. I am the least edgy person in the world I'm scared of everything. Everything you like yeah, it's almost. Cynical. To think that I also wonder like how many? Times assembled two other girls like. Yeah like. I don't think women find that. I okay. I am not a spokesperson for women, but I don't take that as a compliment when people are like you're not like other girls. You like what's wrong with me? What's wrong with me? What's wrong with other girls? Yeah. Like it's okay to be like other girls because other girls are great right and so am I and. I don't know and I don't find myself using that language with guys. Yes. That is a really really good point I don't know. I don't think I've ever said that to a guy like you're not like any of the guys of ever met. Like. France. Yeah. Different in my head is like deviant. which like? You can feel differently. About someone. Make them flagrant. You could be like, oh, I, really like those movies too. Like, they're just a different ways to approach. It are like what got you into those movies are your tattoos so many other ways like learn about a person absolutely. Yeah I think it's really like incomplete way to view somebody as like an I'm guilty of it too like I. I've looked at a guy before him and like always a fist like a fish picture and is goddamn hinge profile like I'm still going to acts that shit yeah, I am hunt. Fish camp. Yes. Gander Mountain. Can you tell us a little bit about your online dating experience I'd love to. Okay. So a little bit about my. Online dating background. Yes. Phil I wasn't a long long relationship up until. Like a year ago from No. So like what is it only a year ago? Yeah. but I had never been on any kind of dating APP up until. Bless you hurt Not long ago. So this is kind of like my first four. It is my first foray into online dating. It has been. Illuminating. The ones that I've tried are bumble and hinge. Also please welcome to the stage Abbey's hiccup. He's trying real hard. So I tried hinge and bumble bumble makes me unhappy. Okay. Fumbles dumb for that. Tell me why. So many people love it and I'm so happy for them. Genuinely. Actually no don met no one missing father to me on Tumblr and here's the thing is I'm fine. You are fun. Okay I will say though. She went on my bumble and Sawday no, you got immediate response. And he let's see what he recently said was about being a guitarist what you're good at like you're good at these things make no mistake. I can't play anything I just like music and so I started talking about music with this man from under the guise of Abbey's bumble account yes. Oh, I can't keep this conversation going ruined her life depended on it. So we're going to let her keep it going but should we read it? We can read it yet that allowed. So the opening opening line was from low. Yes. So in his profile, I was looking at it and he has ample photos of himself with a guitar. and I panicked and just wrote who's your favorite guitarist and then parentheses other than yourself of course. And immediately wanted to run as hard as I could into a wall at full speed, and then he said in a millisecond Haha excellent question. I'm allowed to do this. Yeah. Okay. lot of inspiration but I gotta say it's John Fashanu. Of the Red Hot Chili Peppers disclaimer I'm not a huge red hot chili peppers person but. Whatever I said Okay I'm pretty partial to mark for. Your street girl. And he said, really that's pretty impressive Great Guitar Player. And I said, I, think so too I was raised on Romeo Juliet? Just personal favorite is that a it does all it's a Cy Yup and then I said the killers have a pretty decent cover of to. He just said very interesting ha ha I can get down with the killers for sure and now I'm GonNa tell him truth about myself. Even though it's you. Because the killers was my first concert and I'm very proud of that. So it was your first concert to now. I. Love Darren. Knowles this may have to be our new game. There are no rules which we never condone pretending to be on donald cats always yourself don't catfish. Yes. All that jazz however, this is kind of fun and were also. "They will get a little equal equal measure equal contribution. I feel like if if our release an album. Now as in Taytay odd want Rick Rubin to present to produce a deer. Reckon the if you pitched it to do it I reckon are. We've only got a podcast. Rick Yep it's forty four was eighty four No I think that when when we came to appreciate a recruitment when we did basic boys Lawson's too ill and he was. He's an eccentric dude. yes sorry A throwing led Zeppelin with with rap. Was just fucking cool. And then seeing him work. He's magic on blood. Sugar sex magic w magic but then also coming back in doing California and the thereafter. Just an article man. I was reading a initially. Gruber wasn't their first choice writer. Historically they'd recorded with him but they apparently approached David Bowie to to produce this album and Bowie I didn't know what bobby was doing. In busy being brilliant I guess but said they went back to They went back to Rueben and and cracked on his so trot one around the world a great opening to parallel parallel universe. The LANGEN I I'm GonNa Banging for the furthest songs Conversation I think Olson I. It's a it's a ballot food chilies. It's the slowest song And then it takes a really harsh vocal aspect in the chorus. Doesn't this is the first song or feel like they move away from old school chilies that doesn't contain the funk aren't baselines it it's it's much more modern chilies John Fashanu Lens himself backing vocals. A lot in in in a lot of these tracks amazing tracked towards the end weighs backing audio this soldier but I think this is really the first song that referencing drugs and out of the songs on California. There's probably a thirteen referencing drugs. In some way yes but when he sang crossed Massad Wanderer California King Saud Wandering California King of by two snakes That they have in in California and so when you snakes say with Vietnamese painting that he's full of poison why drugs and then at the very end of the song it kind of sounds like A. He's pulling off a ball or something really something I don't know I don't know what it is but that that's what it sounds like and I think jogs drugs have been central to the chilies Detrimentally and brilliantly artistically. I think you know some the lyrics that Katie's has on this On this album of normal some of them that will get into a bit childish or mature a bit like a culture lively struggling with them a little bit but for me parallel universes a abandoned song. It's it's brilliant And it's it's kind of preparing you for for what's GonNa come with drug where it is. It's a good. It's a good cleanse. That are what's coming out. I think it is a great song. I HAVE FLEAS BASELINE. Grease is is fantastic as well and again it it does. It's his his voice. Changes the tonality of voice changes throughout rice assaults off a little bit more somber and lighter and embody end of it. It's quite it's quite roar exposed and rocky and I think that that's that's a nice power level if I can use the word Slip Threat Song and kind of it kind of changes direction somewhat and. Yeah I really like. I realize this song. A coastal mayor right. We're launching into Scott issue which which I'm guessing I know what you're gonNA say about this. But Dave what do you think Scott Issue Bang? Bang this is the first song off the album and it was there. It was one of the singles off the album. I think this this is the song that won them. A grammy in two thousand for best rock song and It's a IT'S A. It's a brilliant song and again. It's it's not classy Chili's so As a as a single. It's not one that is a. Detroit FAN coming out of one hot minute you would expect them to have Anti Katie's described as one of his happiest home saying it was a playful happy to be a lot. Phoenix rising from the ashes. Awed around with my hand he'll type recorder in with that. Music in the background started singing the entire song and again. Scott shoe very comparison. I think a lot probably song is about Johnson's Win for seventy two RAHAB. He had He had a lot of scars and marks Mommy's heroin addiction and I think this is one of the songs actually written about that Run gone say in verse. Four is Yeah he's referencing. River Phoenix an old friend of the band thawed for drug overdose as well and I think this is just a beautiful well rid and so the opening the opening of scar tissue as always reminded me of dire straits. Romeo and Juliet tonight. Like I don't know if you know this song mcflurry Diet Dire Straits records as well wasn't it that's GonNa say yeah. It is an empire. Cannata went back and listen to Romeo and Juliet yesterday. Just to see if I was going mad and it wasn't as obvious as I thought it thought it thought it was the the the the similarity but it's not far off. But Yeah I is. This was the first thing is probably the first song of this album. I heard when I came out a few mates or in school with sort of really love this album and stuff and this is one of those on repeat songs for awhile Scott Scott issue is a great song. I'll agree with you now and then we're going into other side. This is another single. It's a fucking Banger. And it's it's a buying a the and this This song again like almost three songs in a row. Now referencing drugs in some way shape or form And this this song is a tribute to Hell L. Slovak. Who was one of the founding guitarist and the started Chili's with Anthony Flee and There needs for drama. That was his name for signed was on the first time I was gonNA say I What's his name Damiano? Feel like that's a that's an actor or something but obviously was basically your written some tribute to Hill Slovak Talking about the slot into drug addiction and to song actually gets foss. I walked into drug addiction. As it happens in courts gets allowed a quicker more aggressive than the one before you know indicating that you'll slot into drugs and depression or whatever it is that you end up going into. He's becoming statements. They bring your former white that that other saw that that that overdose almost and looking back in you know they all suffered from and drug addiction. Anthony Katie's John Fashanu say Hillel Slovak and poor. This song could be from the point of view of any of them about slotting into that drug addiction. Yeah I like I like the opening line and It's very distinct and I'm for me not that you can't feel it so much in the first three songs but me. This is where I really felt for shanties contribution and as a song I feel like he covers a multitude of genres. Like it's a bit of punk could almost a bit of rob but a hip hop but a funk? It's it's it's it's anything and everything and it's a really really good song. It's a great sign. Talk Radio Five and and you know you look back on connor the the first three or four songs. You really feel like you've run a marathon right. It's quite it comes at you this album you know and and it's quite exhausting three or four songs because it's just so much happening but it's very exciting right it's very UPTEMPO. And and and from other side we leave the track. Fis We shall we play by the Sada. Feel like this is a song a death WanNa play from. Yep play off here we go. This is track for the other side of the Chili peppers album. California -CATION.

"Touched on before a lot of this is about the different way that people are playing instruments to play different types of music. They're they're making it their own end. It sounds so that's an incredible that you're getting this insight as well. Yeah Leo Fender. The Fender Company didn't play Guitar. Actually the first. CEO of the company has ever actually played guitar. Turn but he was one of the world's great listeners. His design ethos was for must follow function so he made the guitar very specifically for Working Musicians Russians. He wanted You know this was before the days of user interface but he knew the players would be on a dark stage playing needed controls to be accessible. If you have problems with the neck you had to be able to unbolted. Put a new network on yet to be able to change the pickup. So if you now he he absolutely made it every single aspect from the working musician Russian and because form follows function. I think that's really the primary reason why the form survived the test of time but in the same way that you know felt non-party designed the first nine eleven a predecessor to nine eleven you can see the DNA go straight through to current nine. Eleven that you would buy today but the performance is fundamentally changed and the ultra you contrast DNA all the way back to those original foams Leo invented in the fifties and some cases early sixties but every feature of reflects what contemporary artists telling us. Well that's fascinating because when you think of the guitar it is really the stratocaster shape I think for most people that think of even the Emoji today is of red stratocaster. I believe how do you deal with that because for years and years and well before your time companies police have been copying that form. I guess it's flattery. But what does that mean to the company today. Does it matter well if an if anybody doesn't fringe upon our intellectual property we do who do but we have to do to protect one of the things because we knew this would happen is we have our own entry level brand squire by fender that allows his players who don't have a lot of money or maybe entering the category for the first time you can get on a squire by fender for two hundred dollars so the fact that those guitars is exist and the are coming from fender essentially block so the compared to those who would try to knock US officilas at a little place. We can do it to ourselves if you like with the sub brands. That's really interesting to hear my first guitar. Actually a squire stratocaster. The first thing I bought with money from my first job so that's good covered in stickers. Because because I thought that was cool and it didn't have to be the real fender because a singer from green day had a strat copy. I think so that it was still cool for young. But how important is the hardware side of of it. Then I mean obviously new product is important in putting new things out there for for working artists and the amount of music that is out there but on the digital side how much you think about between those two today and the products. You're putting out there. I think increasingly the digitally linked solely umbilically linked in the for entry level players. We bundle three months. Free Lessons Jason with you. If you want to buy a grab and go pack Christmas you get you know a guitar amp and three months later on to play so we're trying to encourage all of there's new players that can help them through that critical first year and to commit to the instrument for life technology within the hardware on guitar side has generally been soundly rejected by consumers and I believe the reason the last the case has been as never made the musicians life easier so it was made it more difficult Michael One of the beliefs that I grew to adopt a Nike as they believed great brands of the cumulative effect great products I took that belief into Disney Z.. In one of the first people I met there was Steve Jobs. Who will see your picture that he grilled me for first meeting by will? What do you think of? Lebron's what makes a good brand site tone and he goes well. I agree with that. He said but I would add the every. Single product and brand mix is either deposit or withdrawal and Banco the brand equity so when I joined Finn. There's no doubt that for seventy years to guitars and guitar amps that we make total deposits. But I felt that we room to improve on the acoustic side effects pedal side which is a critical component for contemporary musicians. And I'm pleased to see after four years. We're a CD player now in both of those categories but the acoustic sonic which is a high end electrified Acoustic Guitar. That was a big risk for. That's because we're not known in that category embraced by walking musicians so we felt that we really needed to do something different there but the solution was actually quite simple. The design brief was no more than design an electrified Acoustic Guitar. The way that Leah would've mic it specifically for working musicians. If you'RE GONNA we use technology make it so it makes the musicians life easier not more difficult. Make the user interface elegant so what we did is we took two or historic luthier skills at factory in corona and we teamed up with a sophisticated audio modeling because most artists when you go on stage with an electrified advocacy guitars one. Great Acoustic Guitar loader. What we did is we model ten grade Acoustic Guitars Put on a five way blade switch so you can. You can go through five possessions and you can go from A to B so you get angry at cousteau guitars then. We threw in some electric guitar modeling just for Kicks So we produced a guitar. That really is solving issues for working musicians on stage they can take the tour bus sets no lap. They can plug it into the computer. We can play it as an electric guitar on stage. The optical back and forth between changing guitars a stage which is fine. If you're you know you've got a raw DNA in a crew of twenty helping about if you're a regular working band that's not nearly as much fun so it was. One example of where new technology is actually really being embraced as being embraced. All the time amplifiers they're getting increasingly more sophisticated and Range of amplifiers come with a companion APP that allows shoot to do presets three music from your from anywhere through Bluetooth. So you can play along with it more and more. You're GONNA see more. And more use of technology amplifiers amplifiers. But the there's been very little examples in the guitar site where technology's being embraced. I guess it makes much sense in the twenty first century of moving forward with the iconic company that is known of course for hardware I just WanNa hear. Lastly as a guy from Scotland who grew up playing classical guitar moved onto electric actor guitar in high school. What is it like to be the CEO offender like this is the brand in guitars? I owned sixty Qatar. Before I joined the company so I am. I'm a geek. One of my good friends was a guy. Colin Rogan who was guitar tech for Pete Townsend for four years was passed a few months ago. Unfortunately he gave me a book. Thirty years ago from Bacon. Day was the history of the fender company and I fell in love with the brand again then because when I moved to the. US With Nike. I sold oh my gear gave up any aspirations of being a even a semi pro musician. Wish I'd kept that stuff now but I I bumped and Alan again in the when I was appalling during that he gave me the book and I started collecting. They guitars that were in the book. And that's been a journey. That stone up finished reached the collections. Little bigger than it was. But it's all on display down the hallways of our office in Los Angeles so any employee can pick up a nineteen in fifty two telecasts nineteen fifty four stratocaster the low there. They want to pick it up player for the afternoon. It's there to play so yeah I have to pinch pinch myself every morning when I come into the office and I can walk down. The Hallway of guitars are I bump into Jim root from slipknot or Tom Morello from no ridge against the machine again. I truly hope to pinch myself every day. You know we. We mentioned When fender is in the news for those those guitars from the past that do come up for sale? Some of them Locked away in the rock and Roll Hall of fame but is it important for you to celebrate those old players and and and the people that have made the company what it is. Oh for sure for sure I mean I went to see the WHO The Hollywood bowl month ago and Pete Stellar Banging his red stratocaster. The Alan Modified to put an acoustic pickup in it. Every one of those guitars has a story and everyone of them has a unique fingerprint of of artists. Artisanal created some of the you know the most iconic musical of office. But I'm just as excited about what the current generation on the next generation of players just as excited about the future outlook music as I am for the past. That's all we have time for on today's show. Thank you very much to Andy Rooney. CEO Offender for coming in to share his story. The show is mixed and edited by Christie. "Insurance Abed mattress. It was on the floor. You know, it was bare bones, and all of a sudden, I was able to get these like just normal things. So, but it was really really great to be able to finally do something that you really loved and be able to earn a living doing it. You also got endorsed by Fender, which meant that all of your gear was suddenly free, and you know, longer. I had to drive it around in a van that you were piloting to a bus with a driver. What was that must have been so hit? He did you feel like a rockstar? I mean, literally and figuratively. I I was just a a cap just being so thankful for everything that was happening at the time and just going. Well, I can't I can't believe this happened. And then it was actually like during our first things are first or second warped tour. I actually had my first panic attack. I think just the the enormity of everything just hit me all at once. And I remember it being about five AM, and we're going through Wyoming and known was up and so on there's this little seat right next to the bus driver that you could just say watch and just you know, sort of meditate, and I went up there, and I sat with them, and we didn't talk. We kind of looked it was beautiful beautiful mountains was a little bit of snow on them. Fill my throat started closing up and what I'm gonna die. What is going on with me? And it wasn't tell you know, probably a year later that I realized it was all because of everything that had happened so fast. It was all just sort of hitting me at once. But so it was like I was think back of it is like the best and worst times because it was like a dream coming true. But also like I think the pressure of now having to sell our music to make a record company, happy and. They're paying you all that money 'cause they're betting on your six. They want that money back money back. That's not free. You said that the all time favorite tour. You did was with the legendary Gazi what was it like to play with them on that all these sort of legendary stories about how just sweet they were and what nice people they were. And that was like true from the very first night. So the first night, I remember we played at this venue, and some people broke the sink off. In the bathroom, and the club owner came and was going to take it out of you know, the show's pay and Ghazi ended up paying for it themselves because they knew we are obviously not make as much as they were. So the two are sort of went from there. There's so many stories from that to our, you know, one of them. I remember being backstage at believe is the hunt ridge theater in Las Vegas and everybody had gone out to do something lunch or something like that. And this guy comes back, and he was he almost like homeless and say how did he get back here? And he said, hey, have you seen Ian, and I go now they went to lunch, man. But you're welcome to say here and wait for and they should be back very soon. And so he said he sat down for a while. It turns out that was John Fashanu of the red hot chili peppers during during his heroin pays. So I just didn't recognize him at all. But. I was like, wow. I wish I would've known that. What's happening? Yeah. I'm wondering if you can tell us about an infamous incident involving the deaf, tones and baloney sandwiches..

"That's an answered. Burn you break me. Hey, too. So is was the big jar Bankstown is that raises the big jar being downtown. Just the whole the whole thing that goes being too big for the box. Yes. Oh. Did you get to your initial question? The banjar. What are they doing in there? Oh, yeah. What? So is it scary are ghost because they're scary. Are they scared when they're in the box of ace spend all their time being scary trapped in the tiny little place. They are they screaming a lot are they smushed or are they do they like are? They somehow shrunk down to proportionate size. I think I can answer this because it goes back to something that my therapist always says, which is scared people scare people. And sometimes the people who are really trying to scare you. The worst are the ones who are the most scared them. So right. Good message for some of these kids on Halloween who are coming up in these to your house and these scary masks freaky stuff for them to know that scared people scared. Yeah. This works across the board. Happy people make people happy sad people. Make people sat. People. Make people got Randy. Yeah. Power at work. Yeah. That's right. It works pretty much every time. "There were six days that moved into total democratic fled and the one of the New York state where the New York state Senate, which was had been very evenly divided. The Republicans control now is overwhelmingly democratic twenty three. Is now the number in the New York state Senate went that means in terms of what can be accomplished by progressive New York. Progressives won a supermajority in the Vermont house neutralizing the newly reelected governor fill Scott's veto threat. Though, this is I mean, it's critical in so many levels. But historically, as you will know, we've lost over thousand state legislative seats in the last few years. So this is coming back and saying Democrats from grasses are going to play at all levels, New York state. You studied you've written one? It's a major win. Let's see what governor Cuomo does with it. Because he's hid behind the inability to do much with the independent democratic conference now defeated one last race, which I think is very important one. And I were talking about is Antonio Delgado in the nineteenth congressional district that race with supercharged with toxic racist rhetoric. John Fashanu has held out against good people except for teach out, but he's gone. So. So I think you know, it's bittersweet, but I think real gains were made. And I think it would be wrong to downplay those one of the nation's most closely watched races of the year remains too close to call Georgia secretary of state Brian Kemp, holding a slim lead over democratic challenger Stacey Abrams who is vying to be the first African American woman governor in US history, but Abrams is refusing to concede because thousands of absentee ballots have not yet been counted campus currently at fifty point five percent if he dips below fifty the race goes to a runoff. The Georgia race was marred by widespread allegations of voter suppression carried out by Brian camp, again, who's as Georgia secretary of state is in control of the elections, despite the fact many demanded that he recused himself. Meanwhile in Florida Democrat Andrew gillum conceded to Republican Ron to Santa's after a tight race Gillam attempting to become Florida's first African American government. Face to string of racist attacks from outside groups into Santa's told Floridians not monkey this up and in Maryland, Republican governor Larry HOGAN was re elected defeating democrat, Ben jealous. The former head of the end up Lacey pay or shod Robinson. You're the executive director of color of change. Yeah. I think I think these what happened last night with particularly with Andrew and Stacy's race. I think represents the way that the south is changing. These are candidates who came out of democratic progressive infrastructure, and we're able to win primaries where they were not the establishment choice and they not only did they win their primaries. But they showcase what the next generation can actually look like on the national stage through their debates through their campaigns attracting wide range of donors attracting wide range of support and in both places. You know, we're not sure what's going to happen yet with Stacy's race. But four years ago, we have to remember the Jimmy Carter's grandson was at the top of the ticket and did not get as close as Stacey Abrams. There has never been a black woman governor in the United States. And so we've always known that there was going to be of a high hurdle to get there, especially in a state like Georgia. And so I do think that this the message if the Democrats should be taking away from this for twenty twenty and beyond is that we do have to speak directly to our base that we do have to excite people with type of passion and energy about what we can achieve because Trump is going to mobilize his base. And if we're not working in the space of ideas and also trying to build power down ballot..

"Wow. What a great day. It's final hour here on Thursday. John C McGinley came in and he is his flame thrower today, friend of the show and he was never on David Letterman man. How many times it was I on Letterman paulie or five. And then I think I was on in the last two weeks when David saying goodbye to a legendary career, and then he wanted to have all of his friends. And so I had a chance go on Letterman again, but you get bumped though once or twice a wholesale? No, that was what. How many years you guys been doing this show. How many years we've been doing this total since like ninety nine alone. Like in this space, all in this space thousand eight. Yes. About ten years. Ten years? Yeah. But run. I got bumped for Farah Fawcett member. Fair faucet went like she was goofy one night and Dave Catherine's good TV was, but I'm in the green room waiting to go out and faira. So my mom flies in from Ohio. It's a big deal. I'm gonna be on Letterman I run and so fair is there. And then she's going to be done with her segment and then I'm going out. And then all of a sudden she starts saying crazy things. And then Dave goes and we'll be back with more from pharaoh after this and I went all bleep. My mom goes what I said. I'm not on. No, no, you're next. No, no, no, not came back in one of the people stagehands go really? Sorry, but you know, Dave's gonna keep Farah. And so I had to book me again, Dave sent me a platter of meat, and he said, stopped being assorted meats. He said, stop being a little woman or little girl crying. Me too wasn't around back then. No meat to he's John C, McGinley the full full introduction here, new season of stand against evil that returns October thirty. First can be seen Wednesdays at ten pm on IFC. So he plays the disgruntled former police sheriff Stanley Miller. So the STAN against eve, good to see you. You go full Orson Welles intro voice. When you start reading intros. Can I love your voice who've a delicious chocolate voice back? You. Massage that thing. They go intro. Thank you, John. Yeah, you go down and doors and wealth. He's a sour ageing bulldog who has recently lost his position as head honcho guy, angry velvet at your wife's funeral. When John Fashanu right there, yes. I just dropped you in a world. I always wanted to do those movie promos. Well, there's one guy who doesn't mind. No, I know what's his name? Don. They did a move. They did a movie out. You guys remember LaFontaine. Yes, would poll. Yeah. In a world. It's no longer with us. Jobs open. Danny died in two thousand eight. Okay. All right. Well, I John can put in a good word for me. Okay. Some of the other things that you've been in scrubs point break seven. The rock. Platoon anything else someone throw in there. He went to NYU. Grew up right around here, giants fan. You got your New York Giants hat on. I do. I bleed giant blue. Are you really? Yeah, I told you my grandfather played for the nineteen twenty seven times did did the giants make you cry now? I'm not a big sports Cryer when they won the Super Bowl. No, I was. I mean, I was really that was wasn't lemon half point spread the last one? Yeah. When the patriots were coming off that undefeated season? No, that was that was have a beer that was that was happy. Do you gamble? I used to a ton and then I, I was putting too much homework into it because there was this dopey everybody put one hundred bucks into a pool when we're doing scrubs, and I'm a film crews about one hundred people or so. So it was not. It was not a shy number and I started doing too much homework, and it was just one of those dopey death pools or whatever you call them where you pick team every week. And I made it into the eighth week and I started to really want the ten grand or whatever it is. What's one hundred times thousand a hundred grand and I it was too silly. So I stopped how many episodes of scrubs. Did you guys do almost two hundred. Wow. Is there one like when you, how surprised are you of what it was in what it became..

"So and then on these like player, bio screens, like each guy does their move, you know, Anthony Kiedis does his like like fake, karate, and John Fashanu does his signature move, which is the splits, which makes a lot of sense for somebody who died from fucking here when addiction. Well, that's just him like nodding off while he's standing and his slakes red bouncing right back. Okay. So then we get John for shanties game play in the game, and he's running Hollywood Boulevard, sunset Melrose, not the Hollywood stars, tolerable word. She's running down Hollywood Boulevard. Any passes like a dark pope. It's like a pope who's like black and gold vestments or whatever. And he bumps past him and then he runs into, I guess, what are supposed to be Scientologists, but they're, they're dressed up like Jehovah's Witnesses like scientologist wear, like white dress shirts with black ties. No, no big office regular normal people that we have nothing bad to say about. I know I have plenty about things to say about the latest dress regular, nothing actionable though. Sure. I think they're respectable people. They're good people on both sides. But it says like, there's a like a sign that says Scientology. You see like the l. o. g. y.. Not the beautiful giant Scientology building in the middle of California. Right LA. Yeah. And in the middle of California. L. the epicenter of California. Yeah. And there's like a sandwich board that says personality tests to, and he just jumps over the Scientologists. Yeah. Jokes, I love it gets a bonus and he gets a bonus from it. Yeah. I mean, like you should. Is that like a, what's in Mario when you like jump on the turtles and they go bowling? Is that like that. Jumped over. So, yeah, no, he didn't. No shell appeared. I don't know how to answer that. Like any video game where someone jumps is like. It's it's like Nick arcade. When all you had to do jump over something got points for it, joke straight up to hit a thing that was above you understand. Right. All band. One time. It was a simulated video game. Yeah. Yeah. No, he jumps over like he doesn't kill them or anything, which is what you would normally do in a video game. But it's probably because they don't wanna be sued also. That's normally what you do. If you see scientologist LA. Oh, notable tire. I'm good old days when video games didn't evolve killing people. And instead it just was about good old fun times and where it was just turtles jumping over other turtles. So you really never played Mario if he's not a turtle. Video game called urinal the turtle, and I played it every night before bed. Reading your. Stack turtles is high as you could and nobody died. Until past. Nobody died. Okay. He he's running. He's still going down Hollywood Boulevard in like hits a floating red hot chili peppers logo, and it turns them into a real boy cuts back to like the live action scene of them playing on the Dell screensaver with like the clouds behind him. So we get to see John for Sean as like live action arms live action body, which is tough, very gnarly. Yeah, you could see his like. Totally scarred up arms, which is crazy. Do we do? We allude to it like he was so close to death. He had like. Lesions all over his arms so badly that they had to graft new skin over his arms. And so it looks. I mean, it just looks like skin graphs on his arms. It is, yeah, it looks like burns like, that's it looks like he was in like end. You can see where like muscle tissue was destroyed because it's so bad, of course to be replaced with. Different kind of tissue. Letting you go for that one. I was just explaining thing. I was going to loop back. Genuine Taki, and then we also get to see even more horrific. Anthony Keita's body language, right? What did you call it? You called it obscene. Obnoxious noxious. Yeah. Lots of like like beauty, Queen prom hand turning around. If you can imagine what me as a ten year old girl running through my house with a ribbon dancer, but have dance like that. It's a lot of that, like was of wet waggling dancing arms. The you would imagine after a healing trip to Thailand and waggling. Sure. Picture you're in like a. Frank, Miller movie where somebody is like summoning the oracle with gas, but it's Anthony Keita's conducting an orchestra at the same time, and like you get like real like sensual like sweeping of the arms..

"Come on baby. Take me on the other side. It's bad. No. Just he's just quieter. Yeah. He's like when he's just like at a three instead of. Oh, yeah. Yeah, but I will say I like, I think I like by the way, I think that sends up more than one occasion does. I never had to sell them. I just assumed I had heard it all from the radio, and he basically, I'd never buy this album. Yeah, I like this stuff. I mean, you kind of just like had to listen to the radio. You had to like this. Looking back on it. Anthony, Keita's always just the worst part of every song, in my opinion, he's like really soft and chill. Yeah, but he's Rayleigh. I love the title of the base. The drumming is fine. It's it's long, you know which which serves Anthony Keita's purpose of having five verses in this. So that's the only part I would. I would. I would remove Anthony Keita's from this and then I would shorten the song. It'd be good song like, I love John Fashanu. I love his guitar. Work love his tone. I love how like. Just weird. It is like it's very symbol, but just his his tone is like, so Tripoli and bright and like stiff and the way like you can hear the pick when he's playing. In like just like the main riff is so simple, but that coupled with fleas baseline, which is just like a couple notes a little trill here, and they're like, just that combination is so good and it like it's a good backbone for the song, but I think John Fashanu does a good job of playing to the song and not like overpowering, not like Anthony with vocals on every song. He does the opposite of that. I like Anthony voice. I'm not super into any Scott's, but I like it high. This is like it's weird because 'cause Anthony, this is such a weird like wildcard like kindly derp derp guy, and John for Sean tastes such like a serious leg, deep, weird like rate. He's the same thing derp in your in your kitchen. We we're talking about like his solo stuff is like really like serious and experimental and like strange and kind of deep. And then he comes into the chilly peepers and he's like doing all kinds of it's weird because he is like a genuinely like haunted individual in just to hear him like play with like the California beach band Iran, actually peppers is very interesting. Yeah, so I don't know, but it's kind of amazing how this is his first. This is John Fashanu first album back with red hot chili peppers after going on a seven-year heroin vacation in which he almost died like literally just just win as close to death as you can go basically and and didn't die actually like so gnarly like you can watch watch video from when he's on the verge holed up in a hotel room and it's like. Some of the spooky is shit you'll ever see. Yeah, and his return to red hot show members is the only reason like red hot chili peppers has a career now like they weren't working out with David Navajo. They weren't enjoying their their relationship with him, and they were just like done and then flee, went flea, went back to John for Chantal. It was like, do you want to be in this band and Jones like, yeah, dude. Teeth replace really fast skin graphs, and I'll be right back. But also like on that note, like I feel like by the way was such a huge album for me. So like this album was kind of a gateway to that and other songs run by the way besides by the way Cabrera which is an awesome song. Kickoffs on their can't stops on that land. You can't stop. It took me on the other. Certain can't stop. But dick, the read through. We know life is more than just a read one. Boob of a. Yeah, that sounds like a trumpet riff it up. Boom. Is that is that flea playing it or is it the guitar Spanish. Is it the bass guitar. It would make sense if it was the tar, the Qatar starts and but then they both end up playing at one point. Yeah. Yeah. I my my whole thing with red hot chili peppers is I think they're a bad band. I think they're, they're, they're half good in half like just awful..
