It's the morning show with boomer in gregg giannotti boomer and geo bad losses for teams yesterday. The bengals obviously having the worst of the bad losses. Talkative after the jets angle. Of course this warning with mike white and a great win the browns at a pretty bad loss yesterday there were only a five point favorite against the steelers but they were expected to do big things this year. People are picking them for the super bowl. Baker mayfield came back in this game and played and the steelers just flat out beat them and then there were some trash talk talking in the end where ben roethlisberger went up to myles. Garrett said you can keep your tombstone. 'cause you know miles. Gary put all the tombstones his yard. He was like the cheesiest trash-talk every because you keep you tombstone. I'll take the win. Apparently is what he said too but The browns have been massively. Disappointing this year and also thought that guy frank reich of the colts. This is a team. That's on on the brink right now as well. That has a gaming. it suggests jets coming up obviously on thursday night but we really to me at all in the vikings at a terrible loss to last night. I mean kupa russia's the quarterback. That's just horrendous. So like i was thinking of the old john fashanu. Nfl films line goes today is november. I the hopes that were high. In the heat of september wilt. Die in the chill of november. And that's what. I felt about the vikings last night and the browns a little bit too quite frankly. You wanna make it a november to remember where you got to look at it. They're g november two ra meds. Right so you know. I'm sure those coaches are picking up the pieces this morning and trying to get their teams back in the mix carson wentz had a couple of really just mind boggling bad plays at the end of regulation in in the middle of overtime that up. Unfortunately that's what you remember it. Then you try to attach that to last year as opposed to the kid that had been playing up to that point. I know frank after the game went to great lengths to cover for his quarterback and let everybody know that he still believes that his quarterback and you'll see it on You'll see it on thursday night. The good news for them Unlike for mike white who can't celebrate the entire week and listen to the performance at he had The indianapolis colts have got a shovel that lost yesterday away and try to win thursday night. I mean that was a season defining game for them. No no question. They got out to a fourteen. Nothing lead by the way and they held their kennedy under one hundred yards. Yeah they did which is like a miracle these days to be able to do that but is it last night the exact example that i'll give every time with kirk cousins where that's a game. He got to win your home. You're against the cowboys. Gets the backup quarterback your season. I mean you're three and three. He's so bad during the primetime matchups. It's like like that's an arrest my case game for him just it just is and i know the defense should have played better because it was cooper rush but just win that game. You know if you're real legit thirty million dollar year quarterback you win that game every single time in your building on national. Tv gets team with a backup quarterback. Yeah you're not. You're not putting up sixteen points when you have your full complement players there. I think chris was talking. Christians were talking last night about their left tackle. Who's been good. That right tackle. Who's been good. I mean they had alva- cook back in the lineup. Justin jefferson is there. I'm eland yet The i mean they have a really good team and always score. Sixteen points and last night's game is exactly exactly right thirty million you know. You may have all the stats. You may don't tony interceptions. You have a high completion percentage and all that kind of stuff but the end today. Your job is the quarterback is mike white proved. Yesterday is yet your team in the end zone. That's what it's about. It's about scoring points in something. The jets had done in the first quarter all year long until their first drive yesterday. Let's go to eric. Who's in new york. He wants to talk to mike white. What's going on eric. Hey good morning guys let you know i. I didn't renew my subscription because your show keeps getting better and better from morning commute. So thank you awesome. Eric what do you got i today. So mike wake maturity yesterday and the post game. That's the first one. I wanna make with amazing. The way he basically explained that you constantly adjusting and he was basically going with the defense was doing. It just seemed like he was a real student of the game for all these years on the bench and Just really awesome personality. You could tell while the team was and then also. I think he could've easily gone four or five touchdowns yesterday and probably should have only had one interception if you consider the one that hit on the helmet but He was just unbelievable. I think if you're a fan right now you have something positive for the first time in a long time and the momentum momentum's a huge factor sports. I mean you know that when you start the game the way he did that just it just seemed like the energy was there the entire game and he never changed even after the interceptions seems like he came out there and he was constantly giving the same exact effort and just following the plan and he could. I felt like yesterday could told the bangles what he was going to do and he still would have successfully done it because the execution was almost perfect on every play. So i'll leave it to you guys but those are the things i wanted to mention. Artie appreciate it. Man yeah touchdown pass. The barrios was the thing that opened my eyes. I mean that's just luck into a throw like that. You gotta have major skill. You gotta be good. You gotta know what you're doing. And that was. After by the way some adversity with the previous touchdown being overturned to kill coal so he could have gone out. There could've settled for a field goal. No he went back and had some he really just had balls the entire day he had balls. Yes it was just like. I'm throwing the ball here. I don't care i'm getting a bowl down and really get the ball down the field much but he didn't have to so. I guess that's the only thing that i would like to see. Maybe a little bit more. Because you don't what frank's going do in this. This an ibra flus over there with indianapolis is they're they're going to take everything that mike white did well and try to take it away from them and it was a lot of shorter routes. I don't think there was a play. A completion i was over fifteen yards. So i'm sure you're gonna see a lot trying to suffocate that underneath stuff in this game on thursday. It's.

It's helping you while you're at home but that you can then take when you go if you choose to go back in the workforce so yeah there's a lot of things you can do and that. I'm so glad you mentioned that. Yeah canvas another great one that you can use for so many things at home but is a skill that exercises. You're right brain a little bit and and it can be Us i then. I ended up using it for clients. Actually when i was doing social media work we had this client. That just didn't have any ads to put up on social media's well hey i know how to make and then if you do something like that if you experiment with something like can buy you realize that all that stuff out there is very easy to figure out. Yes though like once you do that. Then you're like sure. I can see you're out this other thing and eighty percent of the images come from canada. I'm like oh no you. I used see things like scroll past that one day blonde woman holding a box knife used before images. We always say like we. We need a photo shoot right for women in life us exactly we do. He had a window where he was the best offensive lineman in football but he got injured but they still. They've considered him jimbo fisher. I campaigned for him. I met him one time now. I've met him twice because he said thank you. But i just i don't want people to forget and if you have it's like john fashanu if you have a memory if you have thought if if it's still somebody remember when they played then great. Hopefully it's passed on and the veterans committee in the writers that they look at this and or look at it again. And i really really really appreciate the hall of fame presenting john. "You know when i when i was growing up i wanted to be a football player like a lot of people not a not a groundbreaking thing to admit to for for for a forty nine year old native pittsburgh. But it's true. I wanted to be football player in. I've been in love with the sport ever since the age of seven Nfl films. You name it. It's just everything about the sport. I love and i just can't wait As i've said in the past. I think football's the nfl in even college is the perfect marriage for family and holiday as far as that kind of thing blending it all together. I don't care what what holiday you celebrate. Every they're all at the end of the year right and that's when football season's reaching reaching its climax. You got thanksgiving. And then of course the rest of the holidays and you have the new year's and families getting together time and time again and Or you're out celebrating somewhere and everybody's just gathered around the tv or go into a game they're tailgating or whatever what have you and it's just the so many so many memories are created every year and to me. They're they're enrich because you have the holidays thrown into thrown into the mix. I did a retro show with brian. We take one for a future airing earlier on friday and we talked about The steelers in all the fans gathering around the tv On christmas night. The see the vikings help them make the playoffs. And you know. I remember that to this day. I remember where. I was with my grandfather watching monday night. Football december twenty fifth nineteen eighty-nine I wasn't a drink of seventeen. So i wasn't drinking but i was also like nine years away from my first alcoholic beverage but when the when the vikings scored late night contest to make it twenty nine twenty one in fact then there wasn't a two point conversion so i knew pittsburgh had had clinched a spot in the playoffs. I said to my grandfather. I need a drink. And of course at that time wasn't needed a pepsi. That's what i went out to the kitchen for myself. A class of pepsi and he got a kick out of that. But yeah. I mean it's those kind of things that stood for me. It's just those kind of memories. That's why why right the way i do. That's why cover the team the way i do. You know that's why. I don't mention a lot of voters will slip screeners. I mean if that's your thing that's fine. I said that before. it's fine. You be you be you you do you like jason. Maria said but for me. It's it's the it's the theater it's two passions memories. It's the excitement in so sum it all up. I'm super excited. That we are what nine weeks away from the start of the regular season. But who cares about that. I mean we got stuff to titus over and tell them. We have the training camp coming up in a few weeks. We have preseason. I never thought i would i. Would i would welcome preseason again. But i can't wait august fifth. I mean my goodness that's going to be like a like a regular game. It's gonna feel so so much fun and people are probably gonna be treating like a raider game on social media. So i can make fun of them. I can't wait. It's it's so great so yeah i'm just i'm just. I'm just so every year. I get that it's like a doesn't last long. It's like a few seconds. But it's it's like a feeling of euphoria like yes. Football is around the corner. And i'm sure if you're a die hard fan of another sport soccer hockey baseball basketball golf. You maybe that you have that kind of feeling every year when when nascar whatever whatever it is whenever your favorite season is about to start soon. That's about all. I have for you tonight and i will take some comments and questions around. The show is in in the guy roe says and to echo my sentiment. Preseason is going to be fun to watch exactly schiller. Pittsburgh is a laker articles turning to clarify him an old dude fine old. Because as i've i've found over the years like twenty years ago to thought of being forty nine like man that's old now forty nine life ahead of them. That's how i feel. So let's see. Here's one from fort quin best nazila related. But you know you could tie it into the whole bell thing and what's going on with with The nfl today and they ask. What do you think of sprinter. Richardson being kicked out of. That's the famed. Us sprinter female sprinter being kicked out of the hundred meters in the olympics for testing positive for marijuana. Why are they still test for this in any sport That's a good question. I mean it's not. I don't think it's as big a deal as far as a society as it used to people. Don't look at it and go. Oh my gosh marijuana but you have to remember. It's an international rule. Not if it was in the us maybe would be different but it's international and they they have to decide on that and and you know how it any sort of I don't know Any any missed up like that. You know it's going to be looked down upon so if he would have tested positive and and was allowed to compete they was. She's a cheater even out on how that could be cheating. But that's what people would say so as long as it's still a roll book you have to be smart and miss. Your is your once in a lifetime opportunity. How how often do these things come along. you know. you could your training to be the olympic. So i mean. I don't know why you would be partaking any kind of You know it's recreational drug use or alcohol. I mean you know your body's a temple at this point of your life. I mean i wouldn't even but i don't know then again i've never tried it so i don't know the effects it has. Maybe maybe it's it's beneficial for for her training as far as being able to recover from from train. I don't know. I don't know i don't know if it were up to me i i would say it's not you know steroids where it would be a much bigger deal to be To be caught in your system than than that but whatever again it's an international thing so it's hard to it's hard to say and here's george test in number one football game not a war for win or lose not life or death but say that in the summer for winter brings. The playoffs in a season is at stake author. John yes thank you. John john fashanu the voice of god if there ever was one she. Now you're bring about more memories there. Georgia we got you got john for santa's voice shot Sam spence and all this other great composers and their music haunting music in the background. I'm gonna go watch some. Nfl films on youtube. Maybe after acclimated to go watch major league movie. I found out a ton streaming tv and i can't wait to watch it even have it on. Dvd go figure. But yeah. that's what i do. Sometimes i i'll sit around or.

There's a few out there Public a whole is really great research. another nothing that was really good. cool underneath the old older. I think it just stopped. I think finished but some they just tried to The artwork yanni would resume again on which is really nice. Little connected thing. Yeah but Dinty with him was great on that. And i don't really know anyone else's actually interviewed him so don't think it was like he descended To someone. Yeah but it's also your convenience you know you don't have to turn up on time and things so yeah permission stuff. It's been it's been fun. It's challenging because you're just like the millions of norwich knows funds willed. I don't expect them to buy the book when necessary to like you. Whatever i'd kind of like to be out that enough people know about it. They if they wanted to pick up a book about the downloads bible Then they could cause you know this. I think like new generations of funds and stuff. They that'd be aware of. I'm sure but it might not be their favorite. It might be like the last decade will the last twenty years Music which there is much that they're more aware of the can see more. There's a lot of people with teeth is favorite album. I'm like word. I think it's bad. I just sort of like nag up. Yeah i i kind of looked to move away from the book as much as i'd love to. I think i've taken as far as i can. Go doing these podcasts. And stop it's it's kind of run on for a year after the book's release and stuff. Which is you re fortunate on. I'm really appreciative of that And it's made a really interesting process for me because it's not just about a physical book thing it's about like the other people you talk to the fans you can connect with and things like that And yeah i'm looking into a couple of things in the future relates to more musically books I'm thinking about maybe a day project We'll we'll definitely needs. What is this shit Statistic famous quos key. Like i tend to radio off I really wanted to write something. Actually about John fashanu on his early ish to record of ten days. It's a weird record that came on two thousand one so it was like off the momentum and back on the resurgence of ninety-nine california -cation looking out for me as a teenager that was a really big deal less so the earlier stuff. Let's do a bit more of the latest stuff but that ross less wrecker was really cool. Yeah i love for shanta. Solar work will right up. Cup is okay. And that's such a niche thing Taunt because there's not many not necessarily an ordinance abound didn't even know this people. I don't even don't know if i knew that he had a solo career. And you come like place in. There is sorta some rights at because they're very different but he's i was loved his guitar style. I love the fact that he almost seems to be like in the red hot chili peppers by accident. Which eddings larry's He's just into so much different stuff and he's like i love music. Oh okay that's pretty broad Bane he took so much about Transposing things on human league and depeche mode on guitar so that learning awesome guitar. guitarist a rigorous and Monk like in discipline of like down that route. So that's one of my favorite albums to record anywhere to ten days. Two thousand one definitely Check it out to such a unique wit. So i kinda wanna like rights to help spread the word because i really believe in it. That anything is music So yeah we'll set in the future but we'll we'll see what happens go. Yeah i definitely keep in touch will come back on talk about whatever whatever you come up with So for into the never Where is the best place for people to buy the book. So that way like you get the most from it. Internet shops close. I do. They still have traveling book. Member like don't get in like Probably not that. Yeah i think recently. I think like on riddick. "Welcome back to the tapes archive podcast where we release interviews. That have never been heard before in this episode. We have the basis and founding member of the red hot chili peppers flea at the time of this interview in nineteen ninety. Six fleet was thirty four years old and was promoting. The band's upcoming concert with new stars. Dave navarro in the interview flea talks about what made him pick up the base the meaning behind the song p. and if he regrets his past drug use as always we have music critic mark allen at the helm conducting the interview. One last thing before we get to the interview. That tape archive. Podcast is a proud member of cyrus media a global community connecting passionate fans with podcast and experiences about rs and topics you love. Thanks for tune in and now time to open the volt i. I'm fine thank you. How are you want to start off by asking is strange to think of yourself as an arena band. No not really. I mean because we've worked for so long to get to this point where we're playing arenas spent so many years. Starting in this lawless little clubs were way up to mega domes and It's been a very gradual thing so it hasn't been like all of a sudden opinions. Bq jelena's like this for so many bands. Were working in for us. So it's not i mean. Are you glad that you worked your way up that way. I felt good about where at how we got at. I feel like that we've worked hard and we have a good understanding of what it is to be where we are understand the value of work. Can we understand the value of discipline and understand that the fruits of creativity feel like this is the best lineup since the first lineup of the band. I can't say that now. I think this is an expert lineup. That i think would different than any other lineup and i think we are smoking but I think that the john fashanu lineup. This very amazing. And i think that the original is really strong and misdee- initial impetus further suspend. It's hard to compare them. You know they're all hello. John fashanu dave navarro very different people very different ideas and very different ways of expressing themselves. I think this is a great one. If i didn't feel it was clear them. Smoking banned in the world. I wouldn't be out here playing. Arenas was it a goal to get to this level I kinda like often some foggy distance. Perhaps all the player is no. But i more thought of like playing there was a place called in los angeles. This computer called perkins palace. I think it holds about fifteen hundred or two thousand people. And i see parents down. I thank god that was my biggest goal palace that was always thought we make it like the perkins palace. That would be like my dream. Come true the greatest thing in my life. Us kind of clips. That haven't you. We could do that. You know obviously power. You can make enough money to paint event and have another job. You're doing real good chat and I think it was in the rolling stone piece refers to this as a new band with new priorities. Is that the way you see it to I don't know my priorities aren't any different. I don't know what he's talking about the new band. Dave definitely has different priorities in his life than anyone else has never been in. This band has narrowed personal satisfaction. What made you pick up a piece when you originally started playing bass. Hello slovak said to me We've bass player in my band wheel and the world. Yeah that's that's how. I think most bass players start out here. The band needs a bass player and And and there you go. Yeah i guess so. Yeah and did you become as great at as you are by just just constant practice and or mean. Ross run economy. Great thank you. I do i want to call you. Thank you very much. I i developed my style on the base by just trying and by listening to music that i like listening to a wide variety of different musics and trying to understand different feelings as music in lots of different types of music and just being myself not trying to be anyone else and by a really loving firstly. I think you know just truly loving nothing you hills strings. Nothing feels when i get inside. Someone's kicked it did it. Did it come naturally to you. Pretty naturally rhythm in music comes pretty naturally. Can you play other instruments to play guitar guitar. Songwriting on guitar okay. I don't really guitar playing very not virtuosic you'd say i. I couldn't make form on the guitar. Even though i do. Occasionally do co. shows singing playing guitar myself. But i don't do either of those very outsmarting whole thing you know i do. I played trumpet trumpet before i started playing basement. Goal my first jazz classical trumpet player until much to my parents to smith gave it up and when punk rock bass player actually. They always supported me. They're always interested in people playing bass. I played bass and i was just horrible at it and and i'm always curious when when i talked to people about who play it. 'cause it's just remarkable to me when when people are great at it you know where people are really proficient and and stuff and really understand the instrument is you seem to know what you can do with it and then take it another directions as well But i i to me it for like payments as any instrument that just amount of loving it and doing your own thing and not doing anyone else's thing and then how you can talk a bit about The song p what. What inspired that was this particular incident or i think it was mostly inspired by being in nature and by having the feeling of getting away from being in the big city where i feel like i'm so important in a big city because i you know dealing with all these things are really insignificant like You know money and power and property and you know all these material things and you start to feel. These things are meaningless. That you start to feel like you're important. You controlling all these. These meaningless things and i get out into nature in costa rica laughter. Somewhere sure and I started becoming very small. Because i'm dealing with things that are actually very meaningful lakes sky rocks and shit like that ocean wildlife Actually really small realizing that feeling. Let's talk about the thing is. We are all insignificant little specks shit to realize that is intense spiritual realization really. I mean seriously and That's beautiful to me. Talk about these be to make it. Where was that.

We just had to restart the podcast. Because jerry ruin ruined it not shut the fuck. This was that was a collaborative effort. Right there it was primarily you fucking it up though shutoff cob. that's true that's that's not true. It's a again. It's your opinion your show run everything. Make sure that it's fine. Child doesn't love ducks and birds fun to look at. Yeah i was surprised they were there. It's cold it's cold as hell fucking cold burt. Those ducks were out there doing it the right way. They're stupid tatum. mind. I haven't gone to florida. I don't know why they even the migrate. I'm maybe i'm a dullard in some respects. I don't understand why. I don't understand why these dogs don't leave they have. They have wings role. I would there. There isn't one minute of the year. That i would be here if i had wings if i could just fucking fly away. I'm outta here. Yeah i wouldn't be here when i didn't drive for awhile. I always thought man teleportation. That's the way as soon as somebody figures that shit out the world is going to be a better place. Yeah it's just a i going to do it. The east coast. I was reading some shit about like you know he was He was he was commenting on the game's stop of stock thing. There was a stop shot. Shot up to three hundred thirty three dollars. A share or something like that. And i'm no investor but i was like what before most of the shifts in malls and malls are dying so i was shocked by it and apparently he's got like i think it was. Cnn cnn leans heavily left heavily left. You know so lawn mosque. Covid denier. Cova skeptic cova skeptic trump supporter. i'm like what the fuck is going on. they just yuan. musk entrepreneur. whatever they were like elon. Musk cova denier really. That's i don't think i think. Cnn was being a real dick about. that's true. actually. I don't i don't think so either. You know but cova denier trump supporters twitter. All of those things are false. I i think they're straight up lying. I don't fucking know it was on. Cnn in where. He typed on on twitter game. Stunk and everyone went up you know. I don't know what that even means any and they've just lambasted on comb the super elite like damn cnn. It's not even about him. Is the super elite. They yeah that would be considered. I think he'd be super elite. Yeah i mean the jeff bezos dudes fucking real elite Bill the some of those guys are neck and neck as far as like wealth. Bill gates ilan mosque the corpse of the apple guy. He's good. I don't know if they count him anymore. Now steve jobs steve jobs been going for a while. Real long. Time still has mba a turtleneck. That's a good. Look if you're going to pick one. Look it's really only a good look for steve jobs if i did. It wouldn't be round now in foolish. You had a line that killed it. What what should we do now. Jerry you have any information to give us or anything you want to set the scene. What the hell said the scene of september twelfth nineteen ninety guys. I guess we should mention. We're talking about an album called one hot minute from the old red hot chili peppers. We just had some communication about the chili peppers right. What was it was that. Taylor stober taylor road in wondering about the red hot chili peppers and this is not in response to that. This was already on the schedule for this place in nineteen ninety five because it was a noteworthy album that came out in the year was a successful sort of significant album. And it's one that. I enjoy quite a bit i think in the premiere of who i think was the white version of prince guitarist is concerned dave navarro. I always thought he look like prince and he at first he didn't when he came out he was. He used to wear t shirts like just breaking the t shirts. Good head of hair still wore the sunglasses. Because you're a rockstar. Sure and then he started wearing like frilly robes and you know and and yeah we sure. Get wild for a while. Because he wasn't jane's addiction. Before i remember them there and He came over this way and he just looked normal and then went fucking haywire and no one's normal maturity peppers for chad. You is enormous chad. Norman chad might the tackiest fucking one in the whole band history. John i mean the the one guy died the foreign guy which guy the first one died the overdose was that hello hello slovak. Dial or. I don't even overdose so don't quote me on that i don't wanna slander. The man we'll see from texas. Yeah rodeo and then he Is one of the actually know the names of the members. Yeah chad at chad for then there was the other guy john fashanu. Who shits all over. This album does not like this. He he thinks this There's an interview him saying like this is just music because the record company wanted it to be made real Yet he wasn't on the album by the way he was by dave navarro he was like. It doesn't sound like chemistry. It sounds like he was just sitting on it. Because he wasn't he was just a salty. Motherfucker yeah. He was super upset with that. He later came back right. And if they come and gone about nineteen eighty s. I think navarre onto albums. They just recently threw out the guy. That's been in the band for like ten years because for shanty decided to come back he just said art. I wanna come back. So they threw out the guy that has been loyal to them. Josh klinghoffer it happened to just fucking throw him out. it was. This happens with a couple of bands where there was a guy where people i think guns in verses didn't yet they ever guitar player that kicked up. Now i forget well slash left you know all the original guys were gone and they had you know a cast of people in between You know in knocking them at the box. I think sabbath had something without know- ness abbot. Who was it was all sabbath. Well they had their deal with dio but they've also had a drummer issue over the years with sabbath. So timing is for sunday that good that you would kick out a guy you've been in the run the road with. Yeah i mean you know. Good is subjective but they have a a an ingrained fucking relationship with him in in that band that's existed for so long and end been fruitful for sure anything sometimes..
