I wanna say Amen to Nancy Pelosi for finally speaking the truth. All of us are scratching their heads and wondering why is this man? Not only. Why is he still our president? Why has he not been impeached? Why is he getting away with basically? It's like he's raping the world of everything that is good and doing everything in his power to position himself and his children, who, by the way, we're not invited to go to England yet they all tagged along. I mean he's just the biggest embarrassment. He's a crook. Everybody knows it today. I walked on the beach with a man who's Trumpian? And he admitted that Trump's fake Christian. Yeah. We get that all they care about is their 4._0._1._K's and gun rights, the court. I am the courts and the courts, they don't care about the care about all of, you know, regulations that are good for our environment. It is all about immediate gratification me me me. He is. He is. I am genuinely afraid I have three sons if they do get married, I don't want them to have children, because I'm afraid for the world that Trump and the court that the court of Trump, he's stuffing all of the federal judiciary positions with young, extremely conservative people. I think that the Democrats need to stop playing political correctness and they need to play hardball with this guy, and they, they need to play, you know, if you're playing Rollerball and you keep getting bashed against the wall, you know, we need to start hitting back and stop being so politically, correct. Kushner should be in jail, his daughter, Ivanka, should be in jail both of his sons should be in jail and half of his administration should be in jail. And I am getting sick and tired of everybody tip toeing around and trying to be gracious and kind this guy is a cook, and we know it, and he should go to jail. And Amen to Nancy Pelosi, you know what I love about you. You have no opinion. I appreciate the call. I mean you know, if you disagree with her call, tell me for God's sake. I mean, do you understand let me just make I don't want to involve Karen read, who is our wonderful engineer. There was outrage, but, you know, the Ford received the profiles encourage award from the John F Kennedy library in two thousand one for pardoning Richard Nixon. I agree with Nancy Pelosi. This man is committed crimes. No question. And I believe that if there is impeachment proceedings, they'll be crimes in Yuma. Rated. So what was I M Pei best known for? Well, he was best known nationally for designing the east building the National Gallery vote in Washington. He also designed the John F Kennedy library, and I should say you mentioned the glass pyramid at the Louvre in Paris, which was hugely controversial at the time, but has become one of the great loved destinations in Paris, for us in Los Angeles. It was his see a building that he designed for the full MMA, head of CA, Michael Ovitz, very, you know, powerful character, it was relatively sort of conservative compared to the post modernism that was in fashion at the time, or even some of the more, I guess, sort of showy modern. It's, but it's made of beautifully crafted, Honey colored travertine, has a curving aluminum glass, curtain wool, the architecture critic, Paul Gulbarga wrote about that building when it was completed back in one thousand nine hundred eighty nine and at the time he said my Clovis was determined that his new buildings should project, an image of solidity stability and strength. No, I know when you see that building and you come into Beverly Hills from Wilshire boulevard at one of the first things that, that you run into it. Really stands out how did he rise to fame? Well, he came from mainland China, he came from an affluent family and that family went first to Hong Kong. He then came to America. I'm won't we understand is that his attraction to America was Hollywood specifically. And in fact, a couple of years back when I M Pei ten two hundred at that point, we spoke with a longtime collaborator of his name Perry chin. And this is. What he had to say about his mental glamorized by Hollywood news. Intrigued. It just looks so so much fun to, you know, what's been Crosby and all the other stars of portrayed for him. It was like a magnet, he couldn't resist. He's drawn to the Lear of America, as depicted by Hollywood, but he winds up going to Harvard. Well, the seventy foot high gloss pyramid was, I would say an extremely confident building, so there was something about that. Clarity coupled with reserve that seemed to denote his work, even those who have strict modernist education like he. Had may have gone into more exploratory kind of foams. He never. Did he stuck with the message and he did it extremely well, nor at a towering so to speak figure in architecture Francis undertand hosted design and architecture hero. KCRW thank you. "Yes. Yes. Chris Kovac, please President Trump. He would be a feather in President Trump's cap a lot of things going on though, and you can see that with the resignation which I suspect was forced resignation by Kirsten Nielsen not that she was bad. She just wasn't strong enough. And right now, we need an extremely strong department of homeland security chief because the Democrats have pledged basically to make it impossible for the president to get any credit for anything and one of the things that I think he has to do if he wants to win reelection. I I'm not even sure he has to do it. But I think if he does it he wins with the big numbers that I've been calling is he's got to get a great deal of the border secured. And some of it has to be done with the wall. I would like to see a wall from coast to coast, but that's me. Well, not quite coast to coast. But from you know, the Gulf of Mexico all the way to the west coast but short of that. One would think that he's in a great position. I mean, even the the news stations that are complicit and pushing this agenda, they are they are they're showing the footage. You got people streaming over the border. You've got people dropping little kids over the border. This has to be fake news. Hold on Nancy Pelosi his going to receive the profile encourage award. He asked not a joke. She was named the recipient of this year's profile encourage award by the John F Kennedy library foundation, the award which has basically been called the Nobel prize for public figures of boy is given for a lifetime or an act of political courage in a statement. Caroline kennedy? Call Pelosi the most important woman in American political history. Ooh, that must've smarted Hillary Clinton. She was the first female to be elected speaker, the first person elected speaker in nonconsecutive terms and over sixty years. She served in the house since nineteen eighty seven think about that for a minute. Okay. Nineteen eighty-seven. This woman has been in congress way too long. This woman has she's old. And she needs to go home and give young people a shot. That's all what what is this. You know, congress wasn't meant to be your, you know, retirement plan. Congress is supposed to be for vital people who do their public service. And then they go back home and resume their businesses have practices their professions. But these people have no practice, no profession, all they are is politicians Marco Rubio never held a job in the private sector. You know? That's why I have respect for guys like Donald Trump, and Rick Scott who have actually made fortunes in business. They know how to run stuff, you know. And then I look at these people have been there from the get-go. I'm Nancy Pelosi comes from a political family shoes, basically ushered into politics. And then you know, she can out fundraise anybody and and six anybody's. So she just stays in power half the time, she appears like she's losing her marbles. She can barely put a sentence together. And they still keep voting for in San Francisco, but it is San Francisco after all, and and she did take a beating. She does take a beating. I'll give her that. She's I don't know that she's thick skinned or that she's actually strong enough to stand up to the beating she may actually be partially deaf. I don't know she's too old to figure that out. You have to be able to take a punch and you have to be ready to throw a punch. She said, I'm in the arena. And I know that when you're in the arena, this is what you should expect. Does anybody really let me just ask this question because I was asked this question last week when I was at a speaking engagement about why I don't run for office. A why didn't run? Office when I had, you know, everybody urging me to take on the congresswoman from district twenty three. And I and I always tell them because it looks like a very difficult way to spend the day. Can you imagine me? I mean, just for a second. You know closure is because this is what I did when I was confronted with making this decision. First and foremost, my kids beg me not to. And I really like my kids, you know. So I listen. But the the I I would try to picture myself in certain situations like in a elevator with Nancy Pelosi or Maxine Waters. Yeah. How would that play? How would that work out? You know, somebody's not leaving that elevator. And I assure you that somebody's not me, right? Even more importantly, I would think of situations where I don't know. I had an ahead to get somewhere. I had to do something. It was very important. And yet there was a vital vote on the floor. Right. I would be the kind of person who would go and sometimes your families get torn apart with that kind of stuff. Nancy Pelosi has nothing better to dish all them kids and grandkids go home, sit in a rocking chair. You know, read stories to all those little Pelosi's instead, she's going to well, let's face it. She's going to do what half of these congressmen and senators do and that is, you know, be propped up in bed in Walter Reed medical center, hoping that she can get in that one last vote, you know, and and they love to make that last vote. Big right. It's big news. You know, Senator John MacLean McCain. Oh, I got the vote on healthcare. Even though I supported healthcare all along. I'm just gonna screw Donald Trump. Yeah. Please. It's it's enough. These people need to go home. They need to have a life other than the life. They have in DC where everybody, you know, just adores them and praises them. All the time or tax them all the time. I wouldn't want to live like that. You know, it isn't worth a profile in courage award. If you did something really if you had like, a make it major accomplishment. You know, just finished you the first woman who was made a speaker. You know, you're not responsible for having been born with VJ. You know that just the luck of the draw. I was born with one to doesn't make me any special or better suited to be supreme court Justice. It'd be a a Senator or president or anything else. I love these people. They just. Just always, you know, trying to make it about their their private parts. So there's a picture they give her this profile and courage award. There's actually a picture of her standing next to then Senator John F Kennedy her idol, my father was the mayor of Baltimore. Yes. We know.
