"Completely agree with you, Chuck. I find it very frustrating, and it's got to start at the top because it trickles down Greenie on ESPN Radio Baba, who's next Next up. Is John. All right, John Eyre. Your agreement. Hey, Mike, It's Johnson lasting. How you doing? Good. Good. Listen, I love the show. Listen, see as much as I can. Um, but my grievances about yesterday, you guys talking about Losing the D. H if you take Picture out early in the game, starting pitcher, right? I don't get it. I mean, what if what if the guy's getting bombed? What if he doesn't have it? What if he gets hurt? How can you just do that arbitrarily? Most of the H for something that you have no control over. Yes, John. It's a good call, and I did have people bring that up. To me. The injury factor is the complicated one. So once again the greedy rule to point out that he's referring to and it's an excellent call John. Thank you. And you are always welcome to disagree on this show. By the way, you're not going to get yelled at. You're not going to get hung up on. You're not going to get shouted down. I'm not right about everything. And sometimes you bring up stuff that makes me think that things I hadn't this one We had thought of I have no problem taking the D H out of the game. If the picture is getting bombed. It's the pictures job not to get bombed. At minimum. It is the manager's job to have to make that decision. What I'm trying to create is a situation. We're starting Pitchers stay in the game longer to be clear. That is the objective. Now, if the pitcher gets hurt If the picture is becomes injured, then that does create a complication. The problem is, what I don't want is that the picture is struggling or or they want to make some sort of other change. You feign an injury. And now you say, Well, we're gonna leave our d h in there because of a feigned injury, So I'm trying to figure out how to walk that line. So, like most rules, this needs to be fine tuned just a little bit And it's a good call. John. I'm glad you brought it up. I still think the rule is the right. I think we're working on the right direction. You're right. It needs a little fine tuning. Thank you. For the call. John Baba, Who's next? Brady is a Brady air Your grievance. Hey, Greening First off, once said I was a great call yesterday with Justin Rose. Thank you. I'm a big Panthers fan. And my grievance is the fact that we destroyed the sandbar old and there's still people talking every morning on Get up about how we're gonna draft just feel today. Well, I don't know that you're going to let me ask you this Brady. Do you want them to or not? Not really. I think one I think Justin feels he's gonna go out for. I think someone might try to trade up to get them there. But now, at that point, I'd rather get penny school or college pitch. He calls a I think that's the right thing to do. I absolutely do. I think Based upon the way teams are flocking to the top of this draft to try and get quarterbacks, you are generally assured of getting someone who was projected to be a superstar at the next level at Number eight in Carolina..

"Metro area medical centers, The Wall Street Journal, saying that Tehran has rejected that offer of direct US nuclear talks. Meanwhile, the bite administration appears to be trying to walk a fine line with Tehran just last week. Those airstrikes in Syria targeting center is used by Iranian backed militias. He is a global affairs expert and former Pentagon official pick it does and I think the Biden team is doing a pretty good job of trying to balance a lot of factors, many of which sort of or in some degree of tension. But listen on a tactical level. What the strike has done is, you know clearly retaliated but also undermined to some degree the operational capability. Of these militias to attack U. S forces and coalition forces inside of Iraq. The degree of planning was actually pretty exquisite. Here. This was just inside the Syrian side of the Syrian Iraq border. It was measured. It took out the buildings. I think the official position of the U. S. Is there still evaluating how many fatalities there were, But there's independent reporting that you may have up to a couple of dozen fighters that were killed. That's a number that's just out there. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it's out there. So I think the degree of planning and a tactical sense I think the strike made a lot of sense. And I think strategically, you're right. This balance between how do we, you know, show the Iranians that we're willing to negotiate with them at the same time, while we're willing to negotiate with respect to sanctions were not sort of willing to accept. You know all of their activities throughout the region. So at the tough balance, I think they're doing as good a job as they can to be candid. But I also think they've done a good job, at least based on reporting, communicating with allies all of the kinds of important things that you want to do to ensure that your friends are on your side, and that is global affairs expert Mario Mancuso. "Editor and columnist for The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board writing about Venezuela, the failed state that troubled state of Venezuela. These many years of the Trump administration. The policy has been to dislodge Maduro dictator who is not recognized by the United States and others as the president. But He remains very much in charge of the national security apparatus lent it to him by Cuba's Secret service and also other bad actors. Russia, for example. I mentioned and all's and other countries Iran that have been involved in Caracas, but marry is reporting on a success, at least my interpretation. It's a direct way of transferring assets from dollars to boulevards from boulevards $2 without the regime knowing or blocking you in some fashion, marry a very good evening to you. What is er tm tm a I r t m How does it work? Good evening. Good evening. John Eyre Ki M is basically very similar to crypto currency platform, which means that you can put Dollars into an account and the system And then if you tell this system that you want to sell those dollars and buy a different currency It can be Venezuelan Bowl of ours. It could be Mexican pesos. The system will look for agent that worked for air tm They will put up Ah quote to you on what they will sell you the Ah boulevards for and by the dollars from you and You know you can do the platform is the place where you do the negotiating the transaction and then later on, you put the money in the bank account of the agent and the agent puts A bowl of ours in your account, or vice versa. And this is necessary because of the regime, the brutality of the regime. But also you note that the regime is not all knowing not omnipresent. How does it defeat the regime? What is it regime? Why's the regime seeking to make people not be able to track a $2 eyes? Well for years, if you were then a felon, and you wanted to buy dollars? You had to go to the bank and make an application. Basically applying. You had to ask your bank had to ask the Central Bank for dollars. Can I have dollars? And the central bank would say yes, you can have dollars. And at this price and buy subversive you had dollars and you wanted to buy Boulevard. You had to take the central banks over inflated price for the bowl of ours. I mean, they won't point they said six Boulevard to the dollar, which was ridiculous. Um, anyway, that system where they they controlled the price. Even though the price was the price they were setting was crazy. It's really limited the ability of Venezuelans to survive. And so you know, they want dollars. They need dollars to buy things. The boulevards continually devaluing. And yet they couldn't get dollars. And part of the reason was. The central bank didn't have dollars at the prices it wanted to pay. So this allows people to basically engaged in this dollar and boulevard transaction at market rates. So that's one very big advantage, because once that's sorted that happened more and more Among Venezuelans in cyberspace. The central bank basically had to let go of its peg. It couldn't it couldn't sustain it. So that the big defeat for the Maduro government? Yes. You write of several setbacks for the Maduro government. I note, however, you also observed that Mr Guido, who was the head of the Legislature, I believe. And was recognized by the U. S. Has the president He has lost the confidence of the Venezuelan people because of the long delay and because of his inability to overcome the blocking is this ability, Tio To transfer without the regime stopping you. Is this helping Guido in some fashion? Well, it could help him. It hasn't happened yet. But you know why, though, As you say, I mean, he promised a lot of things. Remember that he went to the border one time and said they were going to bring food over the border. And you know, basically as a rescue mission for the starving Venezuelans when I say the border and in the Colombian border and that failed, and many other of his efforts to fail, have failed to basically use the powers of his office is in term President so one of the things he promised back in April was that he was going to get The assets that were frozen by the U. S government. The US Treasury has frozen Dennis on assets in the United States government assets, and Guido said, I'm going to get those assets because I'm the legitimate president of the country and I'm going to distribute some of that money to the frontline workers in the pandemic. I mean, the doctors in Venezuela are making like $5 a month and Guido said. I'm going to get money to them, and he has not been able to do that since April and now with their TM. What I'm told and I haven't seen this actually happened yet, But but step toward it have happened is that the U. S Treasury is going to take some of those assets that were frozen. And it is, in fact going to put them in accounts of doctors and nurses and health care workers on the front lines. And in that way, you're still the promise that Guido made and the The proposal is for $100 a month for three months now, that doesn't sound much to us Americans, but that's a lot of money for Venezuelan doctors who have been earning $5 a month I'm stuck by a report that the Madura regime is not all powerful. And doesn't reach into everybody's home. That suggests, of course, that he's limited by his resource is by his knowledge. Does that mean he has a very small base in Venezuela? That he can't stop this transfer of dollars? Well, he might be able to stop it. I mean, the first thing they did was they said that they were gonna block the domain for air tm. And of course, you can get around that problem by getting up what they call a virtual private network. VPN, um and the GM has Got put out instructions to people about how to get a VPN. So that would be a sort of a technological response to his efforts to block the technology, the the use of the Web site. The other problem is that In terms of transacting doing foreign currency transactions. Non terms of dollars so you could put dollars. Invest Loans accounts.

Just instantly pushed the number one and you will be afforded to my wife, Sweet Jennifer in the call screener booth here at the station, and she'll be able to get your name question will put John Eyre and get you the answers as quick as we can. One triple 8767. 43 48. Romi and I are here in studio and we're here every Saturday morning with the number one objective. Before we go on air. We looked at each other a lot of times when we say Dad, Romy. Let's be a blessing to the people that are tuning in this morning. Let's find a way to melt away their anxiety. And good night. Current events is you're making that easy right now, everybody. Everybody come Saturday morning. All pent up wound up strong tight and then we just kind of unstrung you. We kind of relax you and we'll let you talk about what you want to talk about. One triple 8767 43 48. So in my mission, becoming every Arizona homeowners best friend. One of my strategies is to melt away your anxiety. So one of the things that we got an indication in our office was driving a lot of you people into a very anxious state. Were the headlines being produced. By the utility companies here in Arizona. And the three biggest utility companies. All we're saying the same thing A PS s r P And T p So I invited good friend Jill Hank's from a PS to come in and talk about those headlines. Good morning, Miss Jo. Good morning. Rosy. I know why you had to put this out there. The boy. We sure got a lot of phone calls, and I'm sure you did. And I, you know, I think for some folks, that question was, you know, extreme heat is not unusual in Arizona. So what's going on? And you know the difference. Wass that this week was a wide spread regional weather event regional heat wave, and that Impacted the power supply. And you all as well as the other companies were all floating out the same story to avoid possible rolling brownouts. And I know I have customers that have moved here from California in the last six months that we've done remodeling for and they were the first ones I heard from. They called. They said, Hey, we moved away from PG Any, You know, Don't get. Don't give us that story. But the rolling brownouts that y'all mentioned in this week's headlines. Had a couple of factors playing in it, but I want you to. I want you to calm everybody down. We're in good shape in Arizona. We are absolutely in good shape. A PS had sufficient supply and available reserves. But the grid that were connected to was strange from that supply and demand standpoint, especially During the high demand period from 3 P.m. to 8 P.m. in California. The resource is to generate electricity were not sufficiently available. To meet customer demands due to the high heat, and that caused the rolling blackouts there. A PS never reached emergency status. But like you said, we have to be ready for the unexpected. So Out of an abundance of caution, a PS and other utilities. Ask customers last Tuesday and Wednesday to voluntarily conserve energy during that high demand period, you know, hold off on non essential appliance, Yusef you can like running the dishwasher doing laundry, your pool pump things like that. And without sacrificing safety or comfort. Can you raise your thermostat a few degrees that could help. And so the reason that we took that step is to plan for those unforeseen events and contingencies. For example, a transmission line could go down or a power pant plant could go off line and we wanted to ensure It is something like that happened. We could keep the lights on. And, of course, the air conditioning running. I don't think people realize how interconnected the grid is. Folks right now. Jennifer was doing a little research last night. There are over 500 active wildfires in California. Well, that's turning transmission lines off and on all through this southwest region. And so all these utility companies. I'm oversimplifying here all feed this grid. Well as soon as California starts hogging power because they're afraid to share it because they're having a shutdown transmission lines, A PS has to react. S r P actually had a transmission line through. Ah, While far here in Arizona. They had to shut down for a little while. So it's all interconnected. But my hat's off to the utility companies of Arizona, especially after watching the headlines and hearing the stories of what other utility companies go through. In other neighboring states. And Rosie. We want to thank our customers. Their actions did have a meaningful impact on our ability to reliably serve our customers in this situation, So we appreciate the actions that they took in conserving power during those hours. Now, Jill, I don't know if you've seen it. But about two months ago I submitted to you in Triplicate Commission royalties Check request. For all the education I have done for super cooling, cooling, and I'm only looking for 1 1/100 of 1% of the next cost of them of not building the next power plant. We'll see what we can work out. You haven't seen that You are a prime example of you know customers, really. We advise them to make sure they're on a service plan that, you know best suit their needs. And there are options and you know you you are the master super cooler. Ah, in how to how to.

You know, Avery, I have very mixed feelings this weekend, very upset that the Mets are playing this weekend. Avery. I understand. Of course, I know it doesn't kill me that they're not playing the Yankees, which I, you know, especially getting the Yankees now in our world Bank up might be the time to get him. But I'm never happy about playing the Yankees, but well, you know, they're going to make these games. I know. I know. I know and maybe seven inning double head is maybe that's what it's going to be. Yeah, absolutely. Let's bullpen my play to their advantage. Well, let me let me ask you. Let's talk about that. The situation with luego because to may the other night, Michael Conforto bill, the bail the organization out with that home run. I mean, you can not, and I understand. I understand the situation with the rotation. Everybody all these guy. Everybody's banged up the whole deal here, you know, to drive just coming back from an injury that you know you got walk out. You know everything that's going on with the Mets. Peterson's out. All it is Okay, But you can't in the middle of the year Take in a 60 game season. All of a sudden say Okay, said Lou goes in the rotation. And you know you're killing the back end of your bullpen. What do you think about that? I'm with you. I wouldn't do it. Lou goes your best reliever than your best reliever last year he is this year. You know, it's nice in a way that he's rewarded, and I'm sure everybody brother being the rotation almost everybody and he's one that would but Better for the team. If he's in the pen mats. I understand he had a few rough ones, and but he's never good in Philly. I think For them to win. You're gonna have to have match pitch well and pitching the rotation, so give up on him. Now. I think it's the wrong move. Well, he's been horrible or Johnny. I will say this. I mean, Matt's has been terrible this year. I mean, he's given up a lot of home runs. I mean, he just has not been good. I mean, I'm not saying I don't disagree with you saying about him in the rotation. Miami has been very bad job. Well, you know, I think he only giving up one hit through the first four innings in Philly, and he's never good there. I I understand. He is not good, but they're not gonna win with a diminished pen and Having met out of the rotation. They need mats to do. Well. I mean, maybe he won't end up doing well, if you keep him in there, But if you if you take him out, he certainly was not gonna be part of the rotation. So you know I'm with you. I think Lugo's better off in the pen and I think this diminishes depend for sure. And maybe it'll help the rotation a bit. I will see. But now we're diminishing The pen, Which is, you know, obviously was trouble early in the year. So I'm worried about this movie. Whose call? Do you think this was his Brody's? Could I I can't believe this is RoHaas is cool. I think there's got to be van wagon is cool with luego you've got. I'm kind of with the I don't know that. I think Brody is the one with the juice and then we've got a rookie manager. You know, I feel like it probably Billy was there not tell us that and then it will ever find out. But I think your guess is probably good. Ondas far the situation with the Mets. Are you hearing anything that maybe they would play a double headed? I know the Yankees. I asked their bonus. The Yankees air and the Mets are off Monday. The hearing anything about that they may be able to play Monday. Do you know anything about that? I just know that they feel comfortable canceling these proposed born in this game, just because you know, these two teams are both in New York, and they will be able to make them up somehow on DH. They don't I am opposed to doing doubleheaders. So ah Ah, it could well be dividers. Yes. Have you heard anything lately? Before we get to Yankees and older injuries? Have you heard anything about the ownership situation with the mess? I I know It's basically down to just 33 groups. If you will. What did you hear Anything new here, John? Well, I mean, my belief is I know some people kind of suggested that a Rod is the favorite. I've seen. Others say Steve Cohen is I mean, I think ultimately it will come down on money. I'm sure that Jeff Wilpon wasn't thrilled with the way things went with Steve Cohen. Previously but my belief and I have heard that Fred and Saul are interested in getting the best deal on DH. So I'm not goingto assume that Steve Cohen is out of it based on the fact that Jeff isn't thrilled with him, So you know he has the most money as we've said all along. It may come down to what the other owners think any 23 owners out of the other 29 to support and You know? Ah, both of these guys they rot and Cone obviously got some issues in the past. I do think MLB doesn't mind the fact that they like to get some minority ownership in there. I think they probably like J. Lo may balance out a rod to some degree. But you know, it could come down to the owners of the other owners and a rod. That sweet talker and he's only convinced some, um my belief is that J. Ryan's office still has some power. Eyes clearly in a rod's corner that may help him. I think, interestingly enough that the Yankees would not be in a Rod's corner. Based on the history there, and I don't think they mind having Steve Cone and well, a lot of people are going to say that owners the other owners won't like it because he's got $15 billion approximately..
