Browns Make It Official

"We will start with the official news out of Cleveland Scavenge to ban skis hired by the browns. They announce officially on Monday. He's thirty seven. Spent fourteen seasons as an assistant in Minnesota but has never been a head coach at any level level his entire. NFL coaching career. As I mentioned has been with one organization the Minnesota Vikings Stansky took over play calling duties on offense late in the two thousand eighteen season. Minnesota ran the ball. Forty seven percent of the time with Danske asked the play caller. That's the second highest rate in that span trailing only the Baltimore Ravens was introduced at a press conference just a little while ago. I the foremost success starts with people and I know we'll talk a lot about culture but it is absolutely about the people and everybody knows the Harry Truman quote. It's amazing what you can accomplish when no one cares who gets. That's the credit and that's what I believe. We have in our building. We have great people. I know we're going to add to it will hire G. G. M. here in the next week can or two and we're going to add to this culture that that we're building here and we have the right people and again. I can't stress enough. How excited I am the be? Just a part of did you know to use a basketball terms to my dad can understand this. I want to be the point guard for this organization. I want to bring the ball up then I wanNA share the basketball and let so what else get an easy bucket though smiling over there. WE'RE NOT GONNA I'M NOT GONNA speak anything into existence right now I can. I promise you that we're GONNA work. I've already spoken to a few of our players already. And that's what I'm about I'm about working and I'm about putting a foundation together the other. We will be methodical about it. We will not skip. Step two two and three to get to four. We're GONNA start in the foundation and then we're going to reinforce foundation Shen said we can build upon it and when I'm talking about this I'm talking about schemes and technique will be diligent about working with our players so that they can develop into the the best versions of themselves and ultimately we're building a foundation for what we hope is a championship. Effort will have a culture of accountability. We'll have structures is in place the players will understand our rules. And what we're about and we're going to demanding and we're going to hold each player accountable. Because ultimately I know this about players they they May Not come out and ask you for that. But that's what they want. Well perhaps the tenth. TIME IS THE CHARM IN CLEVELAND. Stansky is the tenth full time head coach Wjr. The browns have hired since returning to the League in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine that is the most in the league over that span of the previous nine. None have posted a winning record. Heard and not a single one has lasted more than four seasons continuity and consistency has been a real issue in Cleveland. Victor certainly something they'd like to you see changes to fanciest step in the right direction. In your opinion will I believe he is and I think that consistency where it is important. And right because you put up that list of all the coaches and the coaches that they've they've pretty much funneled through throughout the years can you provide that level of stability that they've been seeking for almost a year in and year out. Can you provide that for their now. The thing I do like about Stansky a fan ski is that he has experience with creating plays for two star receivers and I think that's something that's going to have to translate over to the Cleveland. Browns obviously with Odell Beckham junior junior and Jarvis Landry and having that experience I'm sure enticed of that for an office inside bring him in and understanding that they got to get the best out of these players in the best out of all their play makers obviously nick included In the backfield now is he going to be a leader of men and he is he going to be able to handle. The Eagles and the different personalities is that are in that locker room. Desk the biggest question that still remains to be seen. It's defense gas interviewed with the browns. Before in fact it's believed that he was the first source of politics but Desta several seasons ago and and it didn't work out. Matt you spent time with him as part of that Minnesota Vikings Organization. What can you tell us right? He he was a young quarterback coach at the time. And so when I got there was actually a little bit older than he was which is an interesting dynamic but at the same time. He's been all around that building. You know he's an administrative assistant and when he started there then. He was a quarterback coach. He's I've been with the running backs he's been with the wide receivers so he's been in all the different elements of the offensive side of the ball. He's seen the ups and downs. He's seen how free agency can impact so he's got a great feel feel. He's a great leader. He's got a presence about himself in the other thing that I think that the Cleveland browns are probably drawn to is the simple fact that this is a very quarterback friendly offensive structure that he's presented presented in for a guy like Baker Mayfield that had had his struggles last year. And maybe some confidence issues. Maybe not though. Let's see the press conference the same time. It's a quarterback friendly. There's a lot of play action. There's a lot of movement of the pockets. A Lotta easy throws to be made screen. And then there's like you said that balance forty seven percent percent of the time the run the ball. There's great balance in that offensive structure in for a young quarterback and going into his third year after some struggles. I think this is a great fit for that organization Asian and going back to when they actually made this higher People in Cleveland were telling me that it was actually his run game because we see what he was able to do with Dowling Cook and how he was able to make become a good player to really a great one and he's a central part of that offense that we now see in Minnesota and that was a big part of it but in terms of now Cleveland going forward looking for GM the way it was explained to me is they really want these to head coach and gm to work as one. This is why they moved on. From John Dorsey Percy and Freddie Kitchens. They didn't feel like this was working together. So they're looking for someone who has the same vision and the analytics department obviously is of of crucial part of Cleveland. And what they're looking for a head coach and I think that's why Stefanski became that lead candidate because he's accepting of it. He wants to be part of that and You know I think I saw some reports out there about how Cleveland is demanding that their head coach presents the game plan to ownership and really the way it was explained to me. It's not so much that they want to see the game plan. They just want everyone to be in sync to go over to make sure they're all on the same page headed into the game. Well you can't blame him and and that is something that clearly was not the case. I think you make a great point. It's poor in that somebody come in and be able to work and mold Baker Mayfield but also be able to be the CEO and run this whole organization and have everybody else be accountable. I think Freddie Kitchens might have had one of those two things that went by the wayside outside the quarterback with the hiring in Cleveland. What it does mean? Is that every chair on the head. Coaching carousel is now accounted for. The browns were the fifth and final team to hire a new head coach in the off season. Three of the hires tires Stefanski as we just discussed Joe Judge with the giants and Matt Raw and Carolina our first time. NFL head coaches the other two quite the contrary contrary Mike McCarthy in Dallas Ron Rivera in Washington they will get a second chance or in some cases third or fourth various established. NFL head coaches of of all the five. Who Intrigues you? The most in their new spot intrigues me is Matt Rule. I WanNa see what really transpires here right. He seven years sixty million dollar contract. That's a big commitment big commitment. I mean we might need to think about going into coach. That's it has everything else that they're also saying that they're making a commitment to Cam Newton with the type of style and the offensive structured. That they've set up McCaffrey's there I mean they've got the pieces of the puzzle there now. It's interesting to see how that that offensive structure from college translates to the NFL. which is I mean? There's been guys like chip Kelly in the past right John Harbaugh's price guy. That's been the most successful but that was more of a pro style offense with the most the most recent Kingsbury in Arizona so cliff Kingsbury. Excuse me it's been a mixed bag. There's no question. Let me ask you this just circling back to something you said by hiring Matt rule it you believe this means a commitment to Cam Newton. Can you explain why why I just think that The Baylor and watching their offense of structure and the RPO that takes place that's run pass options and all the different things that they're well versed in and that the Baylor offense has been historically historically very successful with in terms of that offense of structure I just think that that Fits Cam Newton's game very well and so I believe that that's a statement saying look. We wanted to bring somebody in here that you're going to be comfortable in this type of offense of structure and go out and be able to put yourself in a position to have success extent to intrigue you for me. Is Joe Judge my beloved giants. I think well I just think because going into it. Once I saw the Vacancy Happen at the head coaching position I was all right. The giants are GonNa come in here and get either like a Ron Rivera type or even McCarthy and get a guy that will come in and commanding presence. Once he walks into the building and I think with the hiring of Joe Judge just left me like okay I. It felt like the same cycle almost felt like coach mcadoo a couple years ago when you give a guy a shot and bring him in if he can transcend The coaching position or the year. After that when you bring in Pat Shurmur and you try to bring take a chance on another guy. Felt like we're taking another chance on another guy but granted. I must say I loved after the press conference I loved his mannerisms I love. He literally embodied what the New York Giants Football Organization is all about when he stepped up there on that podium Liam so I say that with a grain of salt because I love the press conference and I think he's going to bring something different than the other two coaches did in the past. But I still left me scratching my head in terms of who was out there here in the type of guys that could've came in that building and commanded a present these guys by the way Matt Rule and Gioja Geno. It's not about winning the press coverage but they did rule who was must see TV. I was just watching. He's missing time with the giants. Who so I knew all about? He's got does I think you know obviously recruiting such a big part of being a head coach in college. You don't mean to recruit You know when you're in the NFL. Which is why? I'm an agreement with you. I think that is the most enticing match COPA or at least the situation of the coaches just because you just look at history and making that jump from college the NFL. It's not easy and there just hasn't been a high success rate there. I think obviously he spent a little time with a giant. So it's not like he's

Browns Dismiss GM John Dorsey Days After Firing Head Coach Freddie Kitchens

"Let's get to it Sadly adly mark we gotta start with the browns. How did we get back here? We're back we're back to the bounds being the browns. They have fired yet. Another general manager her Cleveland parted ways with John Dorsey. After two years on the helm the team announced made that move official after it was reported in multiple places. The decision to move on from Dorsey comes just two days after the Brian Brown's fired head coach Freddie Kitchens at the conclusion of the regular season Dorsey had a meeting with. Jimmy has them the team owner earlier. Tuesday the two sides according to Tom Palacio We're talking about possible. Structural changes that would curb Dorsey authorities GM but when the two sides can come to an agreement it was over mark Feels like Cleveland. Even though the better roster is back to square one in terms of dysfunction and just in general question marks about the present and the future and I can't and even begin to understand how you must feel the frustration of well. I'm of two minds because the first is they're just more proof that the browns the constant mode is sort of developing farce. I mean whatever whenever you think that they've turned a corner. They're actually just going in a circle back to where they were before for. And there are a lot of disturbing reports and whispers coming out of Cleveland that the ownership and we know this is not not shocking. Can you think about it. But the but they continue to be very impatient with all their decisions and the people they hire and so the question now and I think that the I've never seen the fan base this deflated because of where they were a year ago at this time. Or let's say seven months ago to now but because it just doesn't seem to matter to most people who they hire and it's too it's too de energizing using to get excited about fill in the blank coach and the from the other side though I will say this had they kept John Dorsey. It would've narrowed the candidate list of who was gonNA come and work with that next team by a lot so I think if you're going to keep doing this but do you agree with that. Dorsey wasn't the guy to be leading the charge. Because everyone seems it to be an agreement that he was a guy that came in the obviously inherited. Sasha's bountiful gifts and had some hits has mrs but had some big hits to me it all feels a little premature to take him out of the equation but this organization has done. There wasn't a straight firing right. They just say couldn't get different visions on how they saw the football operation going full hundred percent. I think they wanted to keep them and they talked about how much they liked him. But John Dorsey is probably very prideful and not going to take what is it what is when you're changing title it also demotion what else is it and the thing is he he. It's hit. It was his decision number one to go with Freddie Kitchens and they they ignored Paul does recommendations of Kevin Stefanski DEEPA. Desta also wanted. Sean McDermott in the past. So I think what they were saying. Was We kind of trust. Paul Podesta's voice in in this at this time around and that's not something that again. It's kitchens fall. It's a soup of Dursey for hiring kitchens more recently. Stunning fall though we were at the owners meetings and at that point John Dorsey was the toast of the NFL. I read them in the top five of my GM rankings. no-one no-one said Oh that's that's too high. I mean like it was very recent who is five. Oh who's right behind him. Thomas demetre was five. Kevin Colbert over three but It is amazing how much talent he acquired in a short time and he's gone but I think they've gotten it wrong so many times of not having the GM and the coach align that act. I do like I like I think that needs to be on the same page. Yes at every time. So I'm fine with it. It's deflating to the point of heartbreak for for Browns fans that last year at this time this job was seen as one of the most coveted in the league with a young talented nucleus. And you're finally going to bring the winter to Cleveland and now it's senior reading reading stories that executives say that's the one place I would not go and you're right back to where you were if some of these coaching tree scenarios were cal Shanahan and has a number of people interviewing with the browns. He was there he's he. He demanded his way out of the building. You got you know the bill. BELICHICK's of the world are going to be telling these guys be careful because yes. It's great for you to go on and get a head coaching job. But the DNA here is that you won't be there. Four hundred as has made it clear in his press conference Thursday that the coach would be part of hiring the GM which sounds weird. But I know that's fine but it means that the coaches ultimately the GM's boss Asif you get hyper and that's fine as long as it's defined ahead of time if that helps them get mcdaniels fancier whoever it is that they want in the door. That's fine it it just makes makes it clear that it's the coach. That's in charge and function and dysfunction always starts at the top and sports and since the has them's joined there on their fifth took over team. They're on their fifth coaching search and seven years and John Dorsey is the fifth different person or group heading up the football operation in that same seven seven year that has to be unprecedented. I mean there are at least just third that work in at least the third that only had one year really which is why

"john dorsey" Discussed on Xtra Sports Radio 1300 AM

"A close look at the four games to be played this weekend last week we had sixteen games to do this week we have four more gonna spend extra time on each of them has the playoffs arrive time still need to be devoted to the teams that are done specifically the teams that are in the midst of making significant changes and for the Browns Sunday night's announcement that Freddie kitchens out after one year as head coach was followed Tuesday by the announcement that John Dorsey is out after two years and it's another hard reset for the Browns and I don't know whether it's a full blown control alt delete it is definitely another blue screen for the Browns the one wild card in the decision making process for the Cleveland Browns moving forward is chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta who at one point during the season was rumored to be in line to be promoted I head of John Dorsey in the pecking order in Cleveland but it alternately didn't happen I'm told because DePodesta declined to move from California to Ohio the DePodesta still has a significant influence over ownership in Cleveland Jimmy indie hassle and deep in destiny is coordinating the coaching search it hasn't very sensitive the ID the protest is running the coaching search he's coordinating any setting the table for the decisions can be made by the Haslem's but the guys got influence the guy's gonna want somebody that number one he believes will be a good coach and number two will acknowledge and respect the ongoing role of deep the destiny decisions made not made by the Cleveland Browns organization the last thing you want is a coach if you're DePodesta the last thing you want is a coach who doesn't want you whispering in the ears of ownership in there will be plenty of coaches who well have a way of getting their message across to undermine DePodesta and it starts off very innocuous the with jokes about how this guy won't move to cleaning could you imagine Jon Gruden was the coach of the Browns could from day one hi is the guy that won't move to Cleveland what's up California how you doing California you come in for this meeting are we doing it by phone California we had a started after twelve o'clock good you're sleeping out in California California that's how it would go down with a coach who deep down doesn't want DePodesta around so until we know exactly how deep does to fits into this picture moving forward it's hard to know exactly who's going to be the head coach news can be the GM is this basically DePodesta's higher it's gonna be rubber stamped by ownership or is DePodesta just doing the grunt work that ownership doesn't feel like doing we have people for that we don't have to call in a range interviews we have people who do that for us we don't have to talk to the agents we have people who do that for us we'll have to gather the preliminary information on our own we have people who do that force and who knows I have no idea I seen plenty of speculation in the media never nobody knows but the amount of authority the DePodesta has will shape the way this thing goes and I think it's a given that the more authority DePodesta has less likely it is that Josh McDaniels the patriots offense of coordinator will become the new head coach so we'll see and the bottom line is for brown's after back I really do or you hate to browse I don't hate the Browns but I'm not gonna you shake pom poms indiscriminately it's funny it's it's like Washington they have run Verres ahead coach now and a long suffering fan base is lashing out at anyone who would do anything other than say this is great everything's fine everything's fixed here we go this question emerged on Tuesday as to whether not Eric Schaeffer is out after seventeen years with the team the VP of football operations in general counsel he's out he's not out he's out he's out in may you've been lied to how dare you how dare you suggest that the team is dysfunctional it is this functional teams do dysfunctional things during football season when you say that when the team stinks you get no argument when you say it after the team is zero zero and is trying to get better how dare you come on you know I think I mentioned this earlier in the week because I can't remember where I say it when I say when I said it but this is a truth in the NFL you have thirty two independent business owners who are joined together financially and they hope that they all make a ton of money they want the business to elevate they want it to thrive they have a shared financial interest in the NFL being as big of a deal as it possibly can be but at the same time their mutual financial success relies upon a strong spirit of competition among these thirty two owners and the teams that they own and any time someone says man that owner is so bad the NFL should just get rid of him they they they missed the point other owners like it when their owners who don't know what the hell they're doing and we're seven years into the Haslem's ownership of the Browns and I think it's safe to say objectively dispassionately and fairly what the hell they're doing what have they done in the last seven years that causes us to believe they know what they're doing the hiring of John Dorsey was the moment where people said Hey Jimmy hasn't finally figured out what he's doing and then we saw the twenty nineteen offseason the decisions made the team that was put together the hiring Freddie kitchen to be the coach went locked for a from an outsider's perspective I thought it made sense because the higher defense of coaching the team continues it's upward trajectory someone's gonna hire Freddie kitchen to be the head coach and then you're out Freddie kitchens but newer she's been living the game is whole life and he's in a position where he can assess whether not Freddie kitchens has what it takes and he got it wrong because kitchens clearly didn't have what it takes and was he got it wrong when it comes to building a team you can't just go collect talent you have to be sensitive to how those fifty three personalities will interact in its not all fifty three it's a tight handful of players you have to be confident it's going to work and Baker Mayfield Odell Beckham junior Jarvis Landry doesn't work yeah they both had over a thousand receiving yards but Baker Mayfield's performance last year was a biz mall in comparison to what was his rookie year as passer rating goes and and a kind I know that people don't like the passer rating form you know if it was based on zero to a hundred people would like it a lot more but people don't like one fifty eight point three it's like the reverse of the attitude about the metric system which is all premised on zero hundred and you know two hundred twelve degrees is boiling and thirty two degrees is freezing instead of zero to a hundred but the passer rating I think is a reliable testigos season to season era era as to how well a passer performs and as passer rating goes Baker Mayfield was near the very bottom of all starting quarterbacks in in twenty nineteen and I just feel like everything that happened last year for the Browns going into the season all all hype all of positivity I feel like everything's gone now and I think the only way the Browns deserve any consideration as a team that is finally putting it together is if they finally put it together did all those expectations from last year failed unfulfilled and now going into twenty twenty I think the fair assessment is you got to prove it to us no one get on that bandwagon until you prove it to us now depending upon who they hire to be their coach and how well he does or doesn't sell division the moves made this offseason they're gonna be critical desoto back in junior come back here's the thing and I don't want to turn this into a hot take I don't want to turn this into a prediction it's not but Baker may feel played poorly enough last year the you just have to wonder what does the organization bank of him right now what does ownership think of Baker Mayfield right now do they want a coach that tells them Baker may fields our guy are they kind of secretly hoping for someone who comes in and says we can do better his ownership troubled by the periodic displays of temper and immaturity by Baker Mayfield it's easy to look the other way when he's playing great there's a lot of things that still need to be terminal but determined with the Browns and I'm gonna be watching this very carefully because I have yet to see in seven years any indication the house is now what they're doing and that history causes me to believe that until proven otherwise I'm going to assume they still don't know what they're doing we're gonna take a break we'll return the NFL still doesn't know what it's doing when it comes to replay review of pass interference a clue that was provided yesterday by Pete Carroll that should be troubling as the post season approaches and replay review of pass interference calls and non calls continues we'll talk about that next on PFT live.

Are Freddie Kitchens and Baker Mayfield Holding Back the Cleveland Browns?

"GonNa go right to the fourth quarter quarter with the browns so they're down for points and Baker Mayfield and the browns run a draw play on fourth and nine and not surprisingly they came up short short then late in the fourth Cleveland at another opportunity with the first and goal from the four yard line the browns called four straight past plays with the last one resulting in an interception from Baker. That is the game for the rams after the game coach Freddie Kitchen said he regretted the play calling late in the game but Baker said it was more than that take a listen. If you're looking blame somebody blame me. Don't blame me of our players. Don't blame any of our other coaches. Just blame me because I can take it all right. So you know just blindly go go rach article and say I must have game up. Go article and say smile faulted. Things not looking like it did last year because it is. I know what you guys are. GonNa try and do is talk about the playcalling they call him but I said executions the most important thing you know whatever whenever we have called we gotta do our job all right Shannon how much blame that does Freddie Kitchens deserve here. There's a lot of the blame because give the office coordinated the coach and he's the play caller. I Guess Bakersfield Dangerous yesterday. Did you wake feeling dangerous. Gear Alexa dangerous lately. He needs to feel the need to wake up feeling danger. Tennessee woke up feeling real dangerous and that they did. Did you know what skipped look. Freddie is learning that that's to wear two hats in the NFL gets a really hard job. That's why a lot of a lot of guys. Just give that up they either just keep the headset on so they can hear everything or they call you like Andy. Reid is very unique cow Shanahan and guys like that a very unique skipped dream to be able to call the plays and be a head cold but Freddie the the thing that's hurting frady is expectations afraid of the head coach last year if they didn't have these expectations but because of the way they played the close out the season yeah and now they add dale they will add alleviate Vernon they they get they get agreement. We've the draft you like who the brow and you see the subtractions in Pittsburgh. Maybe is no longer there. ABC's no longer there yeah yeah and then what week two bengals out so now that really ratcheted up taste so now everybody expecting the browns to be really really good look doc. That's why I say each year in of itself because last year has no bearing on this year and I think the browns players and and fans are starting to realize that Freddie is starting to realize the expectation that comes along with expectations. I'm the head coach because he didn't have a whole lot of experience calling rolling blades. He's never been a head coach so now he's the head coach which means he's the CEO of the operation but by the same token. He's got a call all the plays now. I don't know what the hell call now. If I didn't no but elsewhere Freddie Buffalo Wild Wings Buffalo Wild Wings coat the fourth and now you can't what the hell is that draw draw play on Yahoo. They were GONNA try to fool Agassi's pass. It got eight yards do remedy it was he ended up seven yards short. I was wondering if I was missing something watching. I'm like wait. Am I getting the goal. You got shows. You got nick. You don't give you one. Kerry now was a live. Let's put back and let's run. It is so you go so you got nick who you save or. I'M GONNA keep everybody happy. I'M GONNA get down. Here's Kevin Jarvis if Catcher Chila. It'll be thirty okay. You give make sure one crack please. okay okay scared. We're told you you keep trying to keep everybody happy to win. Games in everybody's going to be saying 'cause everybody because everybody's GonNa be safe because they nobody's gonna be getting their catches and you'll be losing games and you're going to be in a lose lose situation wages and you're going to be a part of their now that Jimmy and de Havilland. They look like hold on Okay John Dorsey now. We gave you everything everything that you want it. You got a quarterback overall. You got all these weapons. Jarvis Landry got a you got Joel hurt him but here's the things when you you made that trade y'all trash because you got the ninety nine deflategate boy human too. We're talking about the guy who had zero Saxon three the playoff games and it has zero sacks against the cowboys and the Guy who took the Cleveland browns cannot protect Baker Mayfield. They haven't for free games and the Rams took full advantage of that last night. What did I say Friday. Baker Mayfield is about to be in the wrong place at the wrong time against Wade Phillips defense offense that Cap Tom Brady and check for almost the entire super bowl. Am I right about you. Skip in another thing before I let you go. They traded their bust of Islam lobby. Get Out I'll be at the end of the day. You can have all the shiny pieces. You won't skill all these cashier that look nice. You better have a guard or to guard the money now. The money right now is six Baker Mayfield. You got a bunch of predate cashiers. You Got Jarvis and he got dale. You've got all that stuff. I did pillows but nobody protecting the money in his sketches for fifty six yards really the impact the game. Do you remember any of Nope. NOPE nope nope no so given that that was Wade Phillips Defense and right now. I think that defense is even a little better than then. Bill checks defense. That's how good it is because it has more star power to it because to leave did a number on Odell last night. I don't care what you say. You know. They'll get loose down on the field one time he had a nineteen yard catch. It didn't do much okay now back to Freddie Kitchens. I'm not sure he's going to last a whole year. I'm just not sure because bag years kept finding coach in the middle of the how I think it's it's just getting a little darker and darker in Cleveland because remember they have to go go to Baltimore next Sunday Baltimore better than everybody thought in there I think five point underdog there are five and a half actually five and a half point underdog so that the game you better believe believe it or the forty niners three and Oh yes they beffa movie bouquet. The next game is a Monday night game in Santa Clara against against the forty nine. It's Elizabeth game and then the seahawks visit. Seok student looked great yesterday but they did go to Pittsburgh while Rothlisberger played the first half right. They're capable of beating the browns right now because the browns aren't very good right now what if they lose those games and fall to one in six what's Jimmy Haslem going to do with the expectations -tations through the roof of them. He already got one coach. That's still on the pay. Roll can still play a huge. I I know you have another guy on the payroll. Just bring somebody else hears Freddie's problem after the game. He's adopted this new. Oh poor pitiful pitiful me philosophy where he just says you. I'll take it all you know. Get the lay it on me. Don't blame the players blame. Oh Freddie doesn't really look like a football coach. Does he looks more like an offensive line coach so he he doesn't look like the head coach doesn't look like he's in charge and after the Games he's kind of admitting yes screwed that one up and I screwed that go ahead just say well. If you invite the media to run through that door trust me they're going to run through it and trample on you because he is now the easiest target in the national football league. You WANNA blame Baker. Can you not really do you want to blame Odell. No not really how Jarvis no hell out him yes. Yes you know who I want to be right now. I build Danny Jones. That'd be real petty. Okay believe anything you say I'm just saying I can't believe that guy number one he could do that. I don't think he's built. He's built wake ain't skill but you know what I think. Cleveland's defense is really good remember that they had four subs playing in the defensive backfield last night. All four starters were out in hung in and did that I mean I guess why they did it to me. Jared Goff's overrated scale. He's overweight did everything he could. CLEVELAND WON'T DARWIN THIS GAME. How many times do you go on the road and turn it over three times and win the football game you tell me it was three to one and turnovers with l. A. Three to Braley won the Dow many times. Do you get away with them. That's the recipe you want. The best recipe the loser role game yeah. Turn it over thank you. They did that and they still won. One hundred ten million guaranteed right Jared Goff my money yup lots of money so back to quarterback. I love Baker Mayfield old. I'm sorry I got to tell the truth is having a hard time. He's starting to lose a little bit of nerve because he Bolton Fast Komo News. I gotta get out of here. I gotTA get out here. He needed to stand in especially on the goal line and just make one of those rows without looking over his shoulder. It's the Ford downplay. He bolts pockets so fast. I know the play hard off the right. I think yeah I think that's probably a dollar and that was that was ended up being a clay that end up being getting away with the thing is is that sometimes these quarterbacks they look in the bubble instead of stepping up. They look into get outside up that skill once you get outside. Guess what you're doing you telling the defense. Basically I got from the Hash to the side attitude rolling to the every once in a while. We'll talk about Lamar Jackson. You'll get away with a bail out with Obama did you. Did you know you don't make that. You'll go broke doing that. I would agree but Baker. Hey sometimes you gotta you gotTa Take

Becoming a Commercial Pilot Will Change Your Aviation Life

"GONNA be getting into a really cool subject today that I'm passionate about because I went through it myself. I feel like it's going to be very useful for you. At least those of you that are looking to fly for a living in those of you who want aviation as part of your life through the rest of your life right those who strive to fly every day so have you always wanted to learn. The fly always wanted it as a career career that you never quite found the time. You never quite found them money or maybe family life got in the way that's a really common one the family life and maybe have you still feel like you have the opportunity to do it but you don't necessarily know where to start. Now the mix of all these things it's it's a little bit scary. Maybe for you to feel this way that you know. Is it really gonNA work out too. Late is too much. Lots of different question marks. If this is going to be something that's worth it now. All Aviation isn't one of those things cheap to go in and screw up. It's not like you can go in on a semester of college like you can't aviation nation is just so so so expensive. I guess it depends on the college. You're going to but you don't want to become a commercial pilot only to then waste education. So is it going to be worth it. Is it going to be fun. Is it going to be a career that you enjoy. That's GonNa be something that we talk about. Throughout this podcast with the idea of what is it like. Where do you end up. Is it worth it that sort of thing all right so I think a lot of you. You have this story. That's kind of in the making our I you're. You're ready to be an aviation movie. Someone that you know trust through the mud and went through so much to get to where you're going and really anyone that has made it in aviation has their own amazing story of the hard work. It took to get to where they are so. I want to share a little bit about my journey but keep in mind that you are ready to write your own story about aviation. I hope that you choose to to do that. If you're on the fence about taking this leap of faith in doing this so through this you're gonNA see some of the challenges that I faced what my life is like now and maybe that Sunday the you look forward to and and maybe have a different idea of course on how that's going to A. B. Shaped for you because my life is not going to be your life. You want things differently. that's just the way it is but how getting to that point of becoming a commercial pilot doing this for a living commercial pilot means just the ability to take money for flying so you don't we're not tiny airline pilots here but how getting to that point will forever change the trajectory of your life so that's what I want to bring you through from my story and hopefully relating it to your story okay so let's go there so really quick. I WanNa go through my journey as a pilot is pretty be fun to reflect back on this but I think it's really illustrative of a lot of the things that everyday people go through so it wasn't exactly easy for me. I I didn't just do it all at once. When I was a teenager it wasn't paid for for me. Some of it was in the very beginning within it became very difficult later so feel like this is very relatable for a lot of you that have those challenges of time money and family because I felt like I went through every single one of them okay so I did catch the bug for aviation very early on I started in high school with the thought that I would become a professional pilot had the dream of becoming an airline pilot and it didn't end up going to college to become a pilot now. I only spent two semesters in college started. When I was eighteen. I got my private pilot licence at eighteen I I went to what's called a part one forty one college which is the training is very regimented and structured and and spent an okay amount of money. It was actually fairly affordable because it was a state college and really enjoyed. The process actually really liked my training there. However after that I went through several well years of of no further training other than just the remedial stuff from one airplane to the next ended up flying quite a bit in an airplane that my dad had purchased and at about five hundred hours I ended up getting my instrument rating at the age of twenty three so about five years later sure I got my instrument rating at the age twenty three whole lot of time in between a lot of cross country time a lot of great experiences that taught me a lot about aviation and I was fortunate not enough in that timeframe to to get a lot of flying for free because my my dad was paying for it so that's the place place where I come from. A bit of privilege is kind of how I started out. My private pilot wasn't that way I paid for a lot of my own private pilot licence but then some of my our building toward Lord my instrument rating was all paid for and I'm. I'm really really grateful for that. So I know what it feels like to know what it feels like kid to get that gift of having someone help you all right however just several years after that. I moved to Alaska and I was twenty five five of the time when I moved here and then a lot of things got in the way I ended up getting out of aviation for about five years life money I went through a divorce. I went through the process of healing from divorce. Now is a whole different story for another time over drinks if we ever meet up but not really something I focus on. I was just kind of rewriting my life here in Alaska and I think I think that's something that many people go through at some point is they may be disconnect from who they were as a child in the eventually becoming adult and I feel like when I came to Alaska I was emancipated. I didn't have any family here. I grew my life kind of on my own here ended up of course meeting so many great people and great friends that helped me along on the way so I started connecting with that new community. I ended up getting married to my wonderful wife Chelsea. She is my world. We started a family together. Are we grew our relationship together now my focus for quite a long time and I continued to grow my business. So Angle of attack is actually thirteen years old. I've been in in the business of training people for that. Timeframe started out in simulator. Training is some business to business with the famous or a well known aircraft manufacture that I don't WanNa name didn't have a good time doing that. It was it was soul crushing crushing that corporate life and so even though I was kind of moving back in the Va Shin in a more serious way at the time and doing these high dollar projects it taught me so much about what I didn't WanNa do aviation and I was looking forward to the fact that I had a family and I really needed a business that needed to grow oh and how some prospects there so. I thought that the business the business thing high-dollar thing would work but it wasn't for me. Never GonNa do it again and and decided that I needed to do something else and so I'm very grateful for that bad experience because it taught me what I really kind of knew all along but I was avoiding and then that was that I love to teach and I needed to become legitimate in my ability to teach which meant that I needed to get Mike commercial reading and I needed to get my flight instructor rating sure I had I had had years and years of experience doing my business and training meaning people and doing these training products but I wasn't actually a flight instructor. Even though I had a lot of flight time and I really wanted to do that so interestingly enough I decided that on the tail end of that project that I had such a horrible time in that I was going to do this that this was the way ahead. This was what I was passionate about. This is going to be my calling in aviation. That's where I'm at today and I absolutely believe it and I can't see an end end to that calling of wanting to teach people and make a difference that way I talked about that in the last podcast the one about where I've been what's ahead so long story short short continuing and finishing off kind of where I'm at now is I decided to get back into my training to get that commercial and see if I'd done at the worst possible time I started my commercial training right after my first baby was born and and then left home to focus on that when he was four months on sold so I literally left Alaska went down the California started that commercial training and it was it was gut wrenching to have to do that now. I just knew that I how do I had to do right like if I didn't do it right that second. I knew the writing on the wall. 'cause I'd been doing this. PODCAST already had been mentoring people people in aviation already and I knew that I would not be able to progress forward if more things in my family life and my career started to fall in a place that would be roadblocks prevent me from moving forward so even though I'm really blessed to have a family. I knew that like right away is only going to get busier. There's only gonNA GONNA get crazier. I also knew that as I switched the focus of my business is only to get harder and and money was gonna get tight eventually so I really wanted to start allocating funds to my own professional development and I knew that there is no better time than now and I I think in my story that there's anything you pull from is is it that is that is the key figure is that there's no better time than right. Now is never gonNA be easier than it is right. Now you know with a little bit of wiggle room to be smart about about when you start and how you start in aviation but you just gotTa do it and and I realized that kind of had this this moment that if oh I didn't do it now is probably never going to happen. I knew I was getting older. I was arrested pilot and I just had to go in and do it now because it had I've been at that time five or six years since I'd done a cheque right of any kind in any serious pushing aviation training I I struggled so hard in my commercial training. It was tough. I was very rusty. The knowledge that I thought I knew was very much is gone and I had to repeat a lot of that stuff that had just left my brain from being this spry early twenties guy to someone that was slowing down a little bit into my into my thirties and I know that sounds silly but just recognizing that those cognitive things do change. I struggled really bad and I actually documented this pretty well with a youtube series I did I think I ended up doing three or four videos on my commercial training and so you guys conceive visually what happened there it was a complete disaster but it taught me so much that the I needed to push through and I really wanted this dream in no matter what what is going to make it happen you know money was becoming an issue timeless becoming an issue whether it was an issue the entire time literally the DP DP he is someone who does the check rides who kinda passes you off from the FAA literally the DP got hospitalized and I had to reschedule my check ride like everything wrong that could have gone wrong happened to me and unlike before where it had someone helping me out say with my instrument training. This was all on my own like this is my own money any my own business my own family and and that was it now. I say that tongue in cheek because there were so many people that were good to me and helped me gave me free flight time and and friends of mine so I can't say that I did it completely alone but you know I think those things are are more common than not. What if you build a community around you in you in you. You do your part to make that community better. There's some reciprocity there so I had earned that reciprocity the city in a way from from some of those people still feel like I'm paying that back today but long story short it was a very brutal process to get through commercial license and then I immediately wanted to go into my flight instructor training now I did my commercial training in such a way worked with a CFI his name's Michael Michael that knew that was my eventual goal and so really a lot of how he was turning me through the process during my commercial was already getting me ready to do the FAI and so when I went into my cfi several months later it was it was a fantastic process. I had a great time. I'm doing it. I had the help of many great people through that process different. CFI's than Michael namely trace Clinton Dave her wig and the big one John Dorsey who helped me so much and it was just it was a smooth process and the CF. I check right for me okay because I had already been an educator because I'd prepared so well. I buckled down so much at the end here and and really just changed my mind about where I was

"I think that's probably what he's alluding to because it has been in a big driving force. We kill until something real happens. Yeah. Yeah. Okay are the Browns? This is Jesse berkey asked her the Browns legit threat to KC. Or are they way over hyped Matthew? I think the Browns have the ability to be a real contender for the chiefs. The issue is you gotta see it all come together. I mean Adel Beckham is an absolute star. He's one of the best wide receivers in the league add that the combination of Nick child cream hunt later in the year in I do think they ratio is a very quality high-quality quarterback. I think they are team set up wealth in the long run the problem is John doors. You have like a three year window before he puts you into a cap tornado. Are they gonna be able to capitalize that quickly as a lot of pieces of gotta come together with a very new head coach? I know had some success last year, but some of the stuff he did seems like it's going to be major ad that Asians to be successful. Log run. So we'll see where they go from here. Yeah. Talent wise there, definitely legit threat. Like I don't like a lot of the what the Browns did. But that's a lot of egos in a room with a young. Head coach that is going to have to do something different than he did last year. I don't know. We'll see a Baker Mayfield can lead that group which I mean, again, I think he can he he's one of the few guys that I think could have gone into Cleveland and, and reigned that in a little bit. So I think he can't if he can keep his everybody's heads on straight there in that locker room. There are threat. This is this is John Dorsey special. They always have the towns they always have the talent. But then they also have to release their starting left tackle for being a terrible unreliable teammate. It's already starting. They're already taking their swinging swings and misses John Dorsey is right. And blink checks. It's, it's Andy Reid could control the chaos to extent, and then things started falling apart at the end because they kept taking swings. And some of the swings hits. And we're very good for a season in some of them weren't if Freddie kitchens, a rookie head coach can go, and do and manage, a very wildly talented team that has some major characters and some big personalities if they can piece it all together more power to them. But this is John Dorsey to a T. Let's see how the experiment works again. Anyways. Moving on what's the longest Brandon for twenty two the longest contract, you think that chiefs in Mahomes would sign next year is ten years. Unheard of. Yes, ten years is unheard of partially because of the collective bargaining agreement, that's gotta play into the situation with their contract negotiations. I'm sure Mahomes doesn't want to sign for ten years. I'm sure he wants to sign for four or five years, and then come back around in a new environment where the contracts of only gone up and, and and, and benefit from that, again, you know, Mahomes will sign the biggest quarterback deal in the history of the National Football League. And then, you know, a year later, it might not be it might look like an okay deal. That's just how this works. He's not going to sign for ten years. It'll probably be four or five years. I signed into a career long contract at a set for Senate of cap that would make him the highest paid right now. That would obviously increase as the cap increased. Realistically, he's not gonna sign even a career long contract end. But you I think you would get a Walker deal contract if you were willing to go with a percentage of the cap, eventually teams the overbid that he might wanna make more than that some point in time. But that way his contract his money he's making still rises every year as the capitals. But, but Matty, don't you think that the contract percentage will only rise to like, I think it's the same principles even if you're doing a percentage, I think he gets nineteen percent the next year someone's gonna offer earth..

Hour 2: Mel Kiper Jr's NFL draft predictions

"Mel kiper junior into the show. What's up melt? Hey, guys, how you doing? Good. All right. So number one overall. Mel you have Nick Bosa going to the cardinals. You've heard the things cliff Kingsbury has said about collar Murray, he's a big fan. But he's also said Josh Rosen is our guy. So how confident are you about the cardinals going Bosa at one do guys with a mock draft you call around and you get different opinions. You try to build some type of a consensus. Steve drafted Josh Rosen. I thought he held his own for getting no help you seems like the players in that locker ROY believe in him you move forward. Josh Rosen would have a higher grade than any quarterback in this draft. If you go basically apple apple, and you try to reject a year with a year experience where they would be. But I think they're happier with Josh Rosen than they would have been a quarterback including Tyler Perry. Tyler Murray is still five nine five ten and size body type or still some things at the combine and pro day, and he's going to have to answer to give up on Josh Rosen and go that direction. I don't see it happening based on the people have spoken to. So I went with both. Over Josh Allen. That's going to be the debate the trait outta there. Do you tape boasts Allen right now, it seems like Bosa may be the lead who knows internally with their thinking. But trading out of there for team. Let's go out and get Askins. Maybe something maybe interested in listening to Mel. I'm very surprised by that draft. Order Nick Bosa is the is the foolproof, right? He's going to be a stud, but people felt that way about Nick last year. Sorry, Bradley Chubb last year, he's the best Pash rusher by so much you might as well, get them. There question marks about everyone including including. Cleveland Browns quarterback acre Mayfield, including Gregor Mayfield. Sam darnold everyone. So they're going to go, Bradley choke with not only didn't go Bradley Chubb. They went to the talented quarterback, you know, out of the big twelve who they had questions about right? Isn't that Keiler Murray this year, and isn't Nick Bosa basically, Bradley up? Well, Trump had a great year and shove ended up going to a team that utilize him and put him out there with Miller and he's a tremendous player. Tremendous young man, he's going to have a huge future and the ratio that I think when taken the war, Denzel word overcharged was what Cleveland was kind of debating there. Do you take the corner the pass rusher and put him opposite Garrett? They thought Ogbeh would come on. He didn't. But that was a decision obeyed word played well till he got hurt. I think we look at at Murray Murray is different in that he's five nine and a half. He's not six foot and a half to twenty like Baker Mayfield was and is I think that body type when you think about we've never seen before we've seen Baker Mayfield types. Okay. Before we haven't seen Cuyler Murray fight go this SARS, no conflict Kyle Murray. Guys. There's none. So I think we've talked. The number one pick four pick even a first round pick for that matter. I've at thirteen to Miami you've never seen this ever happened before. So I think some answers may become at the combine when you see him as he looked like he can hold up. It looks those guys in the eye. Does he looked like an NFL quarterback putting on a board? You know, it's football IQ should be really good the hand size people. Always look at that nine is that is that there you can do it or you can't will see hand size with collar Murray comes in at so still some things that'd be determined the answers. I got back from that question. This week is was leave Cuyler Murray at thirteen don't move him up that seems to be fair for right now in the process is that you say that Mel just this morning. We learned we got some news. Peter King was speak into Lincoln Riley, the coach at OU, and he said that ninety one percent of the past column Murray through from the pocket while at OU last season ninety one percent of this passes were from floor from Nepal. So when you look at him in comparison to Dwayne has its handicap that us was break that down. What makes? What one quarterback better than the other for the next level in light of that ninety one percent there column, right? That's a great point. Because I think you look at how do you compare? I don't remember one man's L came out. I said he's a wild card even out liar. I don't know what he's going to be Baker Mayfield. Last year was the wildcard big three. We knew it was Josh Allen Sam darnold. Josh Rosen maker Mayfield was the wild card this year the wild card again is Kyle Murray. So you compare him to Haskins asan's as a traditional guy. Everybody knows what you're getting there. Even though he was one year as a starter. We don't know we're hoping I think if you draft him say at thirteen or wherever in the first round, you hope that today's NFL okay with the shotgun so deep getting that shotgun snap not under center, basically in space Todd mcshane's but talking about the statute great set more passes batted down for six foot and over quarterback than six foot and under quarterbacks like Cuyler Murray. So today's NFL makes this happen. It's kind of the perfect storm for him coming out at the right time and the right situation. So there's going to be able to protect his body. He can slide. We know that we know how lightning quickie. Yes. That is in the back. Of his Eddie senses things that nobody else. Can't you mentioned the pocket of build? That's underrated part. He will sit in that pocket. He will wait he'll go through progressions. And he's tremendously accurate. His completion percentage. Was right. Where Mayfield was and he accounted for more touchdowns this season. The Baker Mayfield did during his great year two seasons ago. So I said three months ago collar Murray six foot tall five eleven. It's no discussion. He's the number one pick. But at five nine and a half, it makes it interesting. So let's go to the other quarterback that people are talking about many projected to the giants including you at sixth Wayne Haskins. You said something interesting to me earlier, you said that that Sam darnold. Did you say Sam darnold would've sorry? Josh Rosen would've graded out as the best quarterback in this draft to me Dwayne Haskins looks like a better prospect than Josh Rosen or even probably Sam darnold does not as mobile as Sam darnold. How what do you think of where does Haskins rate and all this? Why wouldn't you give him a great underwear? Josh Rosen was less. Year. Well, they were better quarterbacks coming out. I think that those guys were elite we had talked to years ago about those guys even before they were in the draft that they would have come out earlier. They would have been highly. They were they were considered special. And they said back in August prior to those kids coming out last year that in August that it wouldn't set up well for those and they were Josh Allen, Los everything around them. Sam darnold loss a lot around him. And Josh Rosen was that UCLA where they didn't have a ton of talent. So it wasn't set up for those guys to live up to all the hype in terms of the numbers and the way they were expected to take over and dominate gains and be spectacular. So people were kind of wondering over radium. No, you weren't there. Great quarterbacks. And I thought the people in the league is that these guys this year be thankful if you're those teams you got those quarterbacks they're better and every team in the first round from Lamar Jackson won the Baker and everybody in between those guys are thrilled to have. And they don't have to worry about this Dwayne Haskins a one year starter. That's it. And he had a little trouble struggles rowing the Penn State game. But I like the fact he got better. He learned a seems like he's going to be all in to be a quarterback. He loves the challenge and the pressure that comes from being a quarterback. But so criticism of him to say those guys better those guys were considered super elite and special entities for a two year period. So that's not a critique Dwayne Haskins or or taking a shot. Joe Dwayne Haskins on that's a fair thing to say those three. And then you throw Baker Mayfield John Dorsey number one. Look what happened. He emailed that pick. They can own that division for the next ten years because of this draft and because of getting Baker Mayfield Bubills love Josh ninety five and five they weren't a games. He started to finish. You can Nate Sam darnold. Look what he did in the last month of the season. Look around more Jackson games. He wants those teams guys are thrilled that they know they got the right quarterback for a long long time. And hopefully for Baltimore. Lamar Jackson the passing has improved. But from from winning, and the attitude they're all in on the March access by those teams are really happy where they are right now quarterback

"And I've told you all about to get body Churchill, let's move onto the news. News and notes from around the league presented by sleeper. There was a very significant sleeper. Alert coming across the wire. Yes, there was this morning. So let's talk about that. I I think it's what fantasy owners will be most intrigued about and that is the fact that the Cleveland Browns in the middle of a lunch that we were just having bayside Kareem hunt. Former running back at the end of the City Chiefs cut last year towards the end of the season. Obviously one of the biggest names in fantasy football up to that point. And here is Jack Dorsey GM on what did I say, Jack John Dorsey, look, we've talked John Jack they for some reason the these guys get replaced their names at will if they want that they can do whatever they want. Yeah. So, but yeah, John Dorsey was the GM of the Kansas City Chiefs when they drafted cram. He talked him like part of the reason for increased for cream hunts. When the draft sees what's happened in that rookie period. Why I liked cream hunt was because Dorsey was so mad Lii in love with Kareem hunt and his ability. I mean, they traded up significantly to get cream hunt. The blue third round it was so this. It was it was shocking to see what the Cleveland Browns of picked up cream hunt. He thought well, they they don't need him. They got Nick Chubb. They got do Johnson. But then when you start thinking through it connecting Dorsey to cream hunt. Then it absolutely make made sense. And you can see a backfield of the future here that is is reminiscent of Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram where you've got the great pass catching back in, you know, Alvin Kamara and cream hunt, and then you have Chubb who's just a great bruiser. You know Ingram, but they can all do everything on the field..

Eighty the sports leader. Gary. Kruger continuous on KNB yards. Sixteen sports leader. You folks, remember the names wouldn't take some calls here later, the hang on. And y'all you tough guy just hang on. But we gotta remember the article that oh the world is exploding Brady and ballot. Check don't get along. It's the end of the patriots run. It was done by Seth wicker sham. ESPN the magazine. And now he's got a new one the clash of the Cleveland Browns. You know, I I- intriguing piece has this actually fill out there. And it just the way what's the bit where they call the. Come on behind the lines behind the scene. The I know when they do the thing at the lines, no not outside the lines with bobbly on a six month sabbatical HBO show Knox knocks. And that's the latest example, why let anybody get into your personal business, but it starts there. And he does a whole article about Hugh Jackson and Jimmy has them the owners tried to jump in there. And it's just a boy that patriots. They sure didn't pan out right? Oh, the patriots they're dysfunctional and this and that and there they go again. So I give this guy. Credit wicker sham must meet let me sum up the article for those of you didn't read it because it is like I haven't read ten pages cliff notes, the whole thing. The Browns surprisingly dysfunctional. Yes. Thank you. Basically it. I mean, John Dorsey is a great personnel guy. And I guess Jackson asked suggest Dorsey goes to fire Hugh Jackson, and he asked him. Why am I being fired and Dorsey replied, the team quit on you? And at the time, I guess four of the eight eight Browns games had gone to overtime and Jackson just looked tour season get the f out of my office. Yeah. So it's funny. You know, it's amazing. How John that was that was really one of the courageous moves of the year. If you think about it he fired Hugh Jackson and the offensive coordinator both Todd. Haley chased them both out with a rookie quarterback and replaced them with a defensive coach has on the interim in- Greg Williams, and then didn't give Williams the job and we saw. You know, the we saw the young quarterback Baker Mayfield really come of age examined all this going on around him. It's amazing Mayfield. Outplayed darnold Rosen Allen Lamar Jackson. I played all the other quarterbacks the rookie quarterback's this year. And he did it while his head coach in his OC. We're both getting canned in the middle of the year. It really it's testament to the new who's their new of offense of their new head coach and also to to Mayfield himself and his focus and his talent. I'm not a Greg Williams fan, you know, going all the way back to the bounty gate business, but they did make him the interim coach they almost make the playoffs. He must be a real pain in the neck not to get their job. I just Williams. Yeah. And now he's with the New York Jets. I think he's going to run their defense. But but he he's for him. Zeus free. He's a proven defensive coordinator. Yeah. You know? And his whole thing is he's he's not he's not that bounty gate. Exactly. You know, the thing about the NFL head coach in two thousand nineteen is he's got he's got a notch. Just be football coach. If it was just be a football coach, there's all kinds of guys that can do the job, but you have to front a major corporation. That's what each one of these teams are and you have to be the public face to that corporation. Do you want Greg Williams and his huge dysfunction? All coach sounds like Anita Lawson. I've got an F and Lawson remember screaming. Some this is a different era and the players. Hey, listen, maybe he's perfect on an interim basis come to think about it. But, you know, over a long haul everybody, they everybody grows up watching ESPN that grow up watching coaches talk. They grow up, watch it athletes. They grow up seeing athletes build their own brand the day of my way, or the highway is over, you know, I mean, I really think that's why Kerr's so good. Exception where I was surprised you when he jumped on that on that poor bell the other night, but these guys read the room, and and you're absolutely right. I mean, they're there to do press conferences, they're there to obviously when the going gets tough, you've got to do something strategically but more than anything else you've got to make sure these guys will play for you. And if they respect you and Larry you want somebody yelling at you like, Greg Williams. Probably not it doesn't bother me. Yeah. It really does. You say that. But not really doesn't know. I'd rather. I'd rather get the truth expecting you to have your nuts right there. Put your testicles and the. What's your testicles is see gap? That's a good fine. Mike that was awesome. No, no. I don't put your testicles in the c- gap. What would you handle hard coaching? Okay. I can handle verbal abuse. I can handle people getting in my face and saying FU and not, you know, not take it so personal. Okay. I I I thought might play testicles in the c- gap. I want the first thing that comes to your mind. All right. You've just you're sitting in a room, and tentacles in the c- gap. If you would please. He's expecting you to have your nuts right there..

"You mean like John Dorsey out? So they were split on it. Yes. They could not decide and when a consensus could not be reached Baker Mayfield helped break the ties, according to pope about talk Mayfield Hilton the scales in favour, Freddie, kitchen, John Dorsey and all his guys were split on it meeting. There was a lot of reservations on people which was John Dorsey and whoever's on his side like kitchens more than the Vikings. Interim offensive coordinator. Kevin Stefanski who was favored by the analytics guys. Now, this is comforting because I don't like when analytics guys make all the decisions I like analytics, I think they're important, but there's a whole list of intangibles that go into things as well. So being that they're both inexperienced if you're gonna go with the one that's a franchise quarterback likes and the football guys. Like, I. Lean towards that. It should be noted though. Baseball, basketball, and increasingly football analytics is winning. I'm just saying I'm not saying Cleveland did it wrong. I'm just saying gut feeling guy. No, I I get it. I'm I'm with you on that one hundred percent. I don't know. I don't know what qualifies ready kitchens to feed the coach the team, then eight-game healing guy. But he wasn't that goats coordinator. "Now, do you give them a five year deal and make him in charge of all things football within your franchise? Of course, not but you out there and try to outsmart yourself by bringing in some young hot offense coordinator, do you try to pry Josh mcdaniels loose from from New England. Now if you can get Mike McCarthy. Okay. But does anybody in their right mind? Seriously. Do you think that John Dorsey or Paul Deepa Desta is going to give Mike McCarthy control of football operations in Cleveland? Do you think they're going to bring in a coach there? First John Dorsey, his first coaching hire. Do you think they're going to bring in a coach that would immediately usurp all their power? Of course, not they're going to be looking for coach they can control they can control Greg Williams. Greg williams. I'm sure it'd be happy. You don't think they can control? Great. Well, I think. This guy is a career hotheaded defensive player control. All right. When I say control. I mean, Greg Williams is the coach and they're in charge of personnel. But the Browns they couldn't control him when he was the assistant coach you saw how he wasn't hard knocks. He was giving grief to the head coach again, it's hard. I know I can't I can't take a four one hour episodes for every four weeks or four times a month for the Browns have to be looking at the bear saying we can get a young creative guy in here with to go with all our young players might be terrible. You have no idea. Right. You could be bringing a coach that sucks. You know, the great Williams works with this group. You have the body of evidence why not give him at least one full year. What's the worst? That can happen. You can be the Cleveland Browns. Again, you cannot win. You cannot make the playoffs. This seems like a absolute no brainer to be bring Craig Liz back. Give them a two year deal with a third year team option and see if what he did in the second half of last season works for a guy that strictly a defensive mind seemed to work pretty well breaker Mayfield that seemed to work out now, maybe that's more. "With future guarantees that to me would be more valuable because no trade clauses. You know? No one's gonna try. To superstar quarterback. I know you get in the line manning situation right now, but I never saw that as realistic possibility even with their season going down the drain trading ally. Manning it's going to be difficult to part with him, which may be coming was not going to get beat through trade. Great question, rob. And now, let's move on close to Pittsburgh looks like Chris and Cleveland. Knowing him as you do. Why do you think John Dorsey the Browns job knowing that? He didn't really have the power to fire. Hugh Jackson and the head coach whoever it is in going reports on the owner GM thank prison. Yeah. Do know John wall worked for my entire time in Green Bay John was there is the college scouting director. Frankly in the fall never songs on the road. He's seen college campuses. He's bird dog in and he would show up in the winter and get ready for the grind of preparation draft. But stream Lee skilled at uncovering in finding college players in building building a team that way and brought in his two lieutenants that I know equally. Well, Elliott Wolff Ron's son. I think the world of Alan's ohi Smith was with me a whole time. Green bay's. Well, listen, I don't know what the circumstances were on new John was out of a job. So I'm not sure he had no much to say about he would only come in. If they could fire the coach. But in the first interview with. Has them in every interviewee had obviously the questions would come around the coach. And I think they knew going in that may be Hugh Jackson wasn't going to be the be all end all with John Dorsey throughout his tenure holding hands walking in sunlight into the horizon after their time together in Cleveland for ten years, or whatever it is. But I think what we've seen is. There was a handshake agreement or whatever it was the John Dorsey was not going to change coaches immediately. But immediately became however, long became year and a half. So that's a good enough timeframe. And I think people get hung up on. Well, he's not gonna find the coach while he's not gonna fry the coach right away. He's gonna fire. The coach end that always is not good when you have GM in coach coming in on different regimes hired differently not together. And now we're gonna see John Dorsey heaven ability with has, of course to hire the coach, and these are the two that will walk hand in hand into the Reisen. Ideally after a long career together with some success. That's what we have to see. But in ruins your question. I think John Dorsey took the job knowing couldn't fire Hugh Jackson immediately. But he did not take the job thinking he was stuck with Hugh Jackson long-term had he defined long-term. Well, not two years. So a year and a half that ability had happened. Whether it was John or whether it was the owner sing it formed self whatever was the discord with with Jackson offense, coroner taught hailing got rid of both of them. "So I'd have to make sure that he was clear on that. I'm not just saying hire Bruce Arians right now. I'm saying there's a lot of guys out there that potentially would fit. What you? You want to do to tape a team you wanna build if you're John Dorsey? It's just philosophically which way do you wanna go? And for me. I think somebody that has an offense of mind. That's an offensive driven league. I'm a big offensive guy right now if John Dorsey has that guy, then you have to trust John Dorsey to make that decision. Have you seen enough outta Baker Mayfield to know if he should be the Browns long-term quarterback? I think he is. I think that he definitely has the the opportunity. To excel. I do think there's more talented needs to be put around him specially at the wide receiver position. But athle- I think he conceptually he gets the game. I think he sees the field. Well, but like all rookie quarterback's you need to start making better decisions. But if you if you put me under the hot lights and say his Baker Mayfield going to be the quarterback of the future the Cleveland Browns, my answers definite. Yes. I think he has that ability. You know, Chris, I can't think of anybody who would be more qualified to answer. This question. You grew up right near the pro football hall of fame. You went to a high. Oh state late near career. You're Cleveland Brown for a short time. And I just wonder right now, why should fans in Cleveland have any hope at all that this is gonna work. Well, I think they have stability in the front office. John dorsey. A football guy. Right. They tried all other ways. But I think John Dorsey has a proven track record. I think John Dorsey understands what it takes to build an organization. And I also trust and John Dorsey to draft very good players in the higher coached at he can work with and I'm going back to the points that I made earlier in order for any organization to be successful the head coach and the general manager must be on the same page of what type type of team they are going to build and I do think just answer the previous question. Yes. I do think they have a franchise quarterback instability with Baker Mayfield. What advice would you have for Jimmy has learned the owner of the Browns right now, I'm saying I appreciate your efforts of what you're doing for Cleveland Browns. A really do. And I admire your. I your willingness to try to keep making things, right? I now which you need to do is you need to hire. Peter King president Joe Thomas, general manager and crispy minutes head coach. So you think he needs to be an owner who doesn't stick his nose into things has to allow step out of the way in loud Dorsey to hire the head coach now, obviously he can have input and say in it. But I I do think that you know, John Dorsey has to be able to hire head coach and the head coach has to be willing to listen to the general manager and general manager has to be willing to listen to the head coach can't emphasize enough. How important it is for the organization everybody understands their role in they enter stand where they fall as far as the thirty with any organism. And so that somebody has to have final say, and I think they can do that. And get it done. Chris really, really appreciate. Joining me. Thanks a lot for your insight. Good luck..

Browns fire coach Hue Jackson ahead of trade deadline

"General manager with their old. Hey, coach, hue Jackson. It was destined to fail. And it did finally on Monday when the Browns released Hugh Jackson with time left on his contract this season and next season. So the Browns will be paying him through two thousand nineteen but it will give John Dorsey and Alonzo Highsmith and Elliott Wolff in the Browns for an office the chance to go hire their own head coach, they are I in the pool this year. They get the start looking for an interviewing coaching candidates right now, if they want to go talk to Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma taking go do that. If they want to go talk to any other college coach, they can go do that. They don't have to hide behind anything right now. The Browns are the first out for a coaching search. And then of course, they make the change in offense coordinator firing Todd Haley and bringing in Freddie kitchens who doesn't have extensive experience running an NFL offense. So it'll be interesting to see how kitchens calls play. Days starting Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. And so the Cleveland Browns the first team to overhaul their coaching staff, but the real changes came Tuesday with a flurry of moves that made this one of the busiest trade deadline days in NFL history. Last year was very busy. Because at the last moment in the twenty four hours leading up to the deadline. We saw Jimmy Garoppolo traded from New England to San Francisco j Gye traded from Miami to Philadelphia Dwayne Brown from Houston to Seattle. Marcel Darius from buffalo to Jacksonville and Kelvin Benjamin going from Carolina to buffalo end the almost trade of AJ McCarron from Cincinnati to Cleveland, the got foiled when the Browns could not get the deal done in time by the four o'clock deadline by the four o'clock deadline this year. There was no such thing. Holding back a flurry of moves. We saw de. Ver- trade Pro Bowl wide receiver. Damaris Thomas and a seventh round pick to the Houston. Texans for a fourth and seventh round pick. As will the interesting part of that trade is that Thomas is first game with the Texans will come Sunday in Denver against the Broncos team. That just traded him. Thomas was the longest tenure Bronco and get the Broncos say goodbye to him because really they weren't going to keep his fourteen million dollars salary around next season in my mind. The most surprising move right before the deadline. Came win Detroit traded golden Tate to Philadelphia for a third round pick. So many teams had made so many inquiries to the lions about golden Tate. But they had resisted all overtures for him. But finally, they broke down and dealt Tate to the eagles who for the second straight year made a trade right at the deadline last year Gye this year Tate, as they look to try to keep up with the rest of the NFC east another team in the NFC making.

"And it was the one play that your team in that game. And that was one that guy was one step from the Super Bowl. He's still wants it. Will he like thirty two steps? Now back back now. Arizona worst team. But again, they're getting you know that because they still interesting to follow yet. You know what the rate when they play? No, no, they don't get a bunch of first round picks. Okay. What are you. Now the last team, I know how to bunch of first round pick up Cleveland. Pick terrible. They just they reached all about it. Yeah, that wasn't. That wasn't good. They need some day, Jim. Well, they did. They, they got, they got John Dorsey. Now he's good, good growing tyreek healed. I think you're right though. What happens with their car. I think that is the next. Let's see. Giants. Pelicans were desperate for a win last night and came down to some crucial coaching decisions. The giants scored a touchdown with under five minutes left in the four to cut the lead to eight that Shurmur then decided to go for two instead of kicking the extra point, but Odell dropped the ball in the end zone. The giants were still down by eight. They would score another touchdown in the closing seconds, but lost twenty three twenty. And they're now wanted six Shurmur on why he chose to go for to some questions about the two point play. I just felt like we've discussed internally the math on that. I just felt like I felt like we had a good play and I liked to point place elections and we just didn't quite get it done. But at the end there you saw they not kick the field goal. I felt good about our second to point which we scored on at the end. So. You know, I felt like I wanted to be aggressive for guys. You increase your chances by fifty percent. If you go for it and make it there. So that's that's what you do. Because then if we score touchdown, we just kicked the extra point win. All right, Shannon. Do you agree with the decision to go for two? I was curious. That's all presumptuous of you. I didn't like the call, but I understand his reasoning. But if you look at it. You under the impression that your offense is going to get the ball into the end on the to play. Have you want your physician. Maybe maybe you see something different, maybe you because you're closer to it, you see something different than what I watch on television. Yeah, because when I watch it now if that's Kansas City, if that's the saints, that's the rammed the Minnesota. I got no problem with that. True. Maybe the second two point play should have been your first two point plate. So you got a two hundred and thirty five pound back with great acceleration, you don't give him the ball. You put an ally in Pat. Let me make a recommendation. When Eli has the ball is hand, you cover your mouth because you say throwing thought you wear your motion, leave people see. Oh, you need an Ma. Home what he needs. Okay. What about the go from one that you didn't get? What have you kicked to feel though? There. So what was the mathematics? What is what you using? What percentage, if you kick the field goal there? What was your percentage of winning the game then? I'm looking at him like, do I watch it? Okay. On third into they don't hand about sikwan coming down the hill, rain it, they swing it to him eight yards behind the line of bore guys out there. They heard Pesher McCall from this island to run a swing saquon be over there. Skip this ridiculous. I'm looking at some of the play, call them like I get, I get why he did his, but on the destiny you might as well just go for it down anything that's forth the a less you might as well go for it because your offense, you're so inconsistent. Yeah, see, he's basing it on well, if we do this in this goals, well, but if you look at the consistency of your offense, I don't know why you have confidence that you're going to be able to get in that situation when you have so much struggles moving the ball during the course of the game and all areas of the field in the alive..

"Of these thirty two teams to fall in love with you enough to give you a contract and bring you on the roster in. That's what das- needs doesn't look like Baltimore is going to try and even the teams that you've mentioned, most of those teams have a veteran. If you look at the jets, they got the receiver from Seattle. Richardson? No, they curse cars. Okay. Peer gar science in San Francisco. So these guys have veteran guys. They don't have as much talent as days, but you know what the good route runners, they're good teammates. They're also good students of the game. So you have seen that our lack of people trying to bring in because yet he's probably better than those players. But these these general managers in coaches have decided that these players are better for my roster. Is there any part of this that has turned into sort of an education self awareness for Dez Bryant? Do you think just knowing what you know about him has he stopped and said, okay, maybe maybe this is maybe I'm my biggest problem. I'm in my own way here. No, not from the latest communications. John Dorsey. They can't get a hold of you, and then I saw a little bit of the video. He went to a job interview with look. He was going to the gym, the play. We was playing basketball or something. No, I don't. I don't think so. I don't. I have to see the results of a guy becoming aware because man, it's just one of my pet peeves. Right now. There are so many people in most of them famous doing big, big things and really, really talented. They're not aware of what their life is. They're not aware of how people perceive them. So no, I'm not going to give him credit just like remember, Carmelo Anthony. No, I'm not going. This is not going to be earth-shattering, move him being bought out. No. These guys obviously have not still learned from it. So I'm pulling for this to be on a team because he should be on NFL roster. I take a break coming up. Can Eli manning lead the giants to a bounce back season coach, Eric, Mangini, joins the conversation. I think I always a good time when former head coach, Eric Mangini joins the program is a gorgeous soup. Georgia's just glows picking up back home action, aiming, just let it happens to be. It's shimmering and you were going to say that if I didn't. Nice dress, Jim. Coach as you tell me all the time. Thirty seven is the new twenty seven. I never knew what you meant to. Now I do. Ally manages turned thirty. Seven feels as courage as ever coming off a disastrous last season. As a result, the giants were gifted. The second overall pick. They chose running back saquon Barkley some said they should have drafted. He lies replacement. Their ally says he wants to prove the giants. Did not make a mistake. Giants organization, coach, Sherm everybody, and how they handle the all season and send the head faith and confidence in me, and, and you know, want me to be the quarterback. I didn't know what was gonna happen this year. So feel like, hey, I've, I've got a second chance and I wanna prove them prove them right through that they made the right decision and sticking with me, and and that I can play at a high level and win a lot of football games from giants coach shy of wins. How does he do that? How does he like manning there? What is the key for him to be really, really successful this year. I think I made the right decision as well. And I do believe in Eli manning, we talk all the time about quarterbacks who have no Super Bowl wins. And Eli has gotten too, but he like gets pushed in the back of all those conversations and he's got to against New England, Patriots, which you know I in the easiest thing in the world to do, he's he's much more. Prepared this season for success than he was last season..

"One of the reasons John Dorsey told me they went out and got a diverse Randall a Jarvis Landry and those sort of guys Tara Taylor is because they wanted to announce immediately and before free agency that they're not going on sixteen again, and it's gonna be. It's going to be a concerted effort to try to win as many games they can this year. And then that in turn brings the price down on free agents both this year and next year. And then it's like, okay, we're not joining the worst team in the league rejoining team with veterans who we like. And by by next year, presumably Myles Garrett will developed a handful of those young town guys will look like real starters, and they've built something for next year. So that's the reason why they went out and got those guys. They wanted to announce them. Ourselves as a regular functioning NFL team, and I think it will work. And I do think they believe in Taylor, at least for the short term. I totally agree with you. It just to me every time I watch or Baker do anything, it's like, oh, man, I cannot wait to watch this play football week. I just think he's really special to his traits is a quarterback to stand out to me in such a pronounce way. He reminds me so much breeze and I know that's kind of Troy comparison, but there's so many elements, his game rooms like, oh God, the way he is able to look down the way his maneuvers the pocket. So much of it is so cool. I was talking to sage Rosenfels about this. I'm not sure if I mentioned on the podcast or not about mayfield's throwing motion and about how his ability to talk with his upper body and not move his back right foot mitigates his size. It's the same way that Jimmy Garoppolo throws, and there's only like three or four guys in the league that do it like maybe handful, and it's something you can't really teach, and it really is antithetical to how most. Players are taught to throw a football and a baseball, and he just has this like mechanical soundness about him that very few quarterbacks have. And when you combine that with the feel and the instincts and everything else, and just the crazy, crazy accuracy. It's hard not to get excited about him, and then he starts doing stuff like the John Dorsey video today. And I become just all the chips in the middle of the table. I'm ready to go with this. It's going to be really funny, and you combine that with Myles Garrett in a couple of those guys. Those are funny dudes. The Browns are going to win the Browns, get good, that group of players are gonna take over the world. I totally agree. So you, you know, John Dorsey, you guys, have you guys have chatted several times for the last couple of years? I was there. I talked with them in Cleveland when I was there the day I was there in Cleveland. It was seriously like ninety six degrees now is that dude is just stick into that sweatshirt, man, there is nothing they can get him off that thing. I'm sitting there in shorts and just a t shirt just dripping in the end zone. And he's just walking passing the hat. And that's sweatshirt out. And I was like, how are you doing this? And he tried to say that it was light enough that it wasn't a thing and I was like, nah, I'm not buying that. I do not know how you're surviving right now. What do we think about the jets battle. So. The teddy thing is fascinating to me. I just think that him being good again and then making that bet for five million possibly getting a high pick out of it. It could go so well, I did not. I didn't like it when they did it. I'll admit that readily and good on the jets. I mean good use of resource and cap space if they can trade them for something. But the question becomes, where do you trade him now? And I knew that conversation about that has kind of been focused on the fact that most of the teams in the league are feel like they're set at quarterback as a starting group, but I think that there are enough quarterback rooms elsewhere that you could look at that five million dollar deal and just think of him as a bracing, a break in case of emergency option..

"Field. Dez Bryant reportedly had not been answering general manager. John Dorsey phone calls from the Cleveland Browns that all change on Thursday night. When client said on Twitter, he will start his free agent visits next week. You will visit the land. That would be the Cleveland Browns saying he may be teaming what they knew quarterback somewhere down the line. By the way, he obviously would be that you quarterback could be Baker Mayfield eleven of twenty two hundred twelve passing yards. Two touchdowns no interceptions he played. Third quarter so Hugh Jackson who did not start, Mayfield let them go to the locker room and let him come, out of the locker room to. See, what it's, like, get an NFL. "They know in the org. Innovations poorly run. Right? How does Baker two years in it's a grease fire, not get better? How did you avoid that? I got bitter really better. Oh yeah, I was moody and everything. You're looking at the organization. Like what kind of pick is that? What kind of signing is that? And you know, you just have to keep your mouth shut and keep going. If you don't want to rock the boat too much. That's one thing about my career that I wish I probably would have rocked the boat a little bit more because I had a voice and I don't think I use it as much as I could. You have to kind of you have to kind of go for what? What? You know what? What's going to make you happy. So I look at Baker, I like window see though I, the general manager John Dorsey John Dorsey. I'm sorry, he's making some good. I, I don't how don't have a problem with the, he's getting his guys in there. But if Baker is the first pick overall, you're expecting franchise. You're expecting greatness and he's gonna play above all that stuff. I remember with with myself, go that. It doesn't matter who I'm playing with, what quarterback I'm playing with. I still have to make plays, and I still have to go out there and make it happen for myself and beggars. I don't think he's going to be in that situation. I think Dorsey is going to get him the right players. They're going to set the right tone the right mindset, and I think the Cleveland Browns are going to turn this thing around by the way Peyton Manning visited raiders camp spoke highly of Jon Gruden. I don't question gruden's ability to figure out the new NFL schematically, but ten years ago, coach could walk into a locker room and say, no politics, and it was understood if a coach. Walked into a locker room today and said, no politics. A third of the locker room would think racist. It's a different room Gruden left and it was the old room. The new room is players want to be heard. I think he struggles potentially with that. I could see that him to struggling with that, but it is done Gruden. He's got the name, he's got the prestige. He's got the he he's had success in the past is Super Bowl. Coach it just like Bill check, there's no politics going on in there. You don't see the guys protesting. You'll see the guy's acting like that because they respect, build bell check and they know it's going to win. The only way this goes sour for Jon Gruden is if they start losing. And but I think he's going to have a grace period in his first year which he should. He's gotta get his guys in their set the tone. But I don't. I think people respect them enough. He's he's down Gruden. He's one of the most popular coaches in the NFL now, but you saw at the end of your career, social media was starting to grab people. It is harder today. Right? You saw your last year in the league harder tippy to to be strong defiant as a coach? My way or the highway. It's harder today. It is well, you know what it does. You have to win. You have to win once things. Ball part, the wheels fall off. They don't care what it what it is in the NFL sports, especially especially, I think you look at what's going on with Pete Carroll. Now you think like they love to have three years ago that guy. Now you've got x. players is losing touch, losing this, and it it I, I'm dumbfounded some times when I see this, how quickly things can turn and fall off. And that's another reason why I kept my mouth shut to that time because I, I knew I didn't want to add to the chaos that was already there. That's what happens every locker room. Even the good ones has some chaos, it's going to have chaos, but that's where it's up to the head coach to get it right. And that's why coaches get fired. Some can't handle it..

Cleveland Browns expected to sign running back Carlos Hyde

"The start of the league year today at four o'clock eastern a lot of these deals are already in place and it looks like we have another update here adam schefter tweeting out that runs carlos hyde is going to sign with the cleveland browns was that first reported somewhere else want to make sure i get that correctly okay i rewarded by nfl media now adam schefter also following up with that that carlo side who by the way grew up in cincinnati played at ohio state so that makes a lot of sense the forty niners took him in the second round in two thousand fourteen last year was the first time carlos played in all sixteen games is gone over eleven hundred yards from scrimmage back to back years so what do we make what the cleveland browns are doing they have made a lot of moves they still have the first and fourth overall pick in the draft listen gm john dorsey said we need to go out and get real players i mean that got some people upset with how he was dealing with former regimes yup but when you look at the things that the browns have done they have gone out and signed a lot of air quote real players here no they have and they've done a good job of using the assets that chassis brown and paul do podesta left behind and and it's a smart use of cap space and draft picks recognizing that you have to have a veteran quarterback somebody that could step in and play now and contribute to your team winning and so you go out and you trade the sixty fifth overall pick for tire rod taylor you make the deal you bring over jarvis landry i liked the fact that you're making a focus of rebuilding that team around veteran players that can contribute immediately and then hopefully those guys can bring something to the culture because for cleveland browns there was a lot of young guys on that roster i mean they have a lot of young talent but they don't have any veteran leadership and so that's one of the things that concerns you with such a young team they don't know how to win so bringing in players from other teams that have had success tyrod taylor playoffcaliber quarterback that should help this team progress and.
