"You are listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. Welcome back. If you are just joining us, so we've already heard from Kirby smart, among others, Alan green, John Daly. We were in Birmingham on Wednesday at the region's tradition and we caught up with Nick Saban. And we're back with coach Nick Saban of the university of Alabama coach thanks so much for being here and we have had conversations in the past and I think we'll continue to about the state of college athletics. You've been very outspoken with it. How would you describe where we are at this moment? Well, you know, I think one of the things that I'd like to see us be able to work back to is everything in college football has always had parity, same scholarship, same academics for healthcare, whatever it is. And I don't think we have that balance right now, which could affect the parody of college football and college athletics as a whole. So and I know we got a lot of good people working on it and I'm sure they'll come up with a good solution for us. But there are so many unknowns and so many allegations and I know that a lot of people would like to see you in charge of it all, but is there one thing that could be changed? Not pie in the sky, but that could be tweaked in a reasonably short period of time. I think a lot of people criticize the NCAA, but because of a lot of the laws that have been passed, the NCAA really has a difficult time. If they don't get protection for litigation, to be able to enforce some of the rules that they even have. So I think that's where the transfer portal came from. You know, people had to sit out, but everybody applied for a waiver if they didn't get a waiver they sued. So eventually you just say enough is enough and you just pass a room now, but everybody can transfer whenever they can. I think name image and likeness is good for players. I don't think that players should go earn what they get. Which is what our players did last year and did very well. But when you start having collectives and things like that that raise money to pay players and then you're talking about influence and players to go to a school in terms of what they're going to get. I'm not sure that's good for the game. The coaches will meet in under two weeks and I know this will obviously be the top of your conversation, but it just seems like some of the problems are in that coaching room. I don't mean the one that specifically you're in, but how do coaches manage this because some of the people that are saying similar things that you are making it more difficult. Right, well, I think everybody always looks for competitive advantage. All right, now that's the nature of the beef when you're in coaching. Because there's a lot of competition. So if you can create an advantage for yourself, you're going to try. So you can't really criticize anybody for doing that. But when you look at the big picture, what's good for the good of the game. Then that's a little different story. And I think we all have to have a lot of honesty and integrity about what's going to be good for the game in the future. And what kind of changes we need to make to get us there. You've been in the game a long time. Eminently successful, but you said a few weeks ago that the current model or some variation of it is not sustainable. What concerns you on that front in terms of the dam breaking so to speak? Well, I think the reason I made that statement was that we're going to promise players that we're going to create name image and likeness. It's going to create problems in the locker room unless everybody gets the same thing, which is, you know, that's the model that we're going to have. As coaches, the way I feel about it is we're there to create a platform for our players to be successful and create value for their future. How do they develop a career off the field or whether they have a chance to go to the NFL someday and have a great career there. So that's what we want to stay focused on. Not how much money a guy's going to make, why is he going to college? And I think that's the part that we all got to get our heads together on and say, what's best for the game? Hasn't that been one of the embodiments of what Alabama has done under you is you come here, you play for a championship and you have a reasonably good chance of playing in the NFL. That is not enough now though to some people. Well, maybe there'll be some people that it won't be. But I would rather get the guys in our program that that's what they're interested in. They have goals and aspirations for what they want to do. Look, when you go to college, colleagues is a destination where you're trying to prepare yourself for the day. You can't play football. Right. So that's the number one purpose. If you can develop a career on the field while you're doing that, that's great. And that's what we'd love for players to be able to do. So we want to stay focused on that and we want the quality of life for our players to be equal and we're going to make it that way. In terms of what we do, so it's fair for everybody. And then every player can go earn whatever they can earn because that's what name is likeness was supposed to be all about. As we close down here, coach, you really can never get away from the game, but I'm curious when this seemingly is acquired at time of the year, although it's never quiet. Is it even more oppressive because you don't know what a player now the portal dateline has changed, but you really never know what's around the next corner, do you? No, you don't. I mean, but once the supporter closed on May post or whatever, and I think we only had a couple of players get into portal. Some didn't have a choice..

"Be able to make some money and take that money and maybe get an insurance policy on themself for a lot of money in case they don't go pro or they get hurt or something like that. I mean, the NCAA, I don't like them. I think they're, I think they have too much control. I think the NIL needs to just keep going and I think kids need to get paid. I want to ask you as a father because a lot of people worry about what's it going to do to your kids grew up in a pretty decent meme. We depending on the day of the week, I guess, right? I mean, I took care of my children. I didn't take care of myself, but I took care of my children. But no, I mean, you know, you want them happy and first of all, you want them healthy. Yeah. And you look at college athletes, you want them to stay healthy. They get recruited big and you hope they stay healthy, but like I said, I think they deserve something. I want to ask you about your life and career because you are, and I've met a lot of people for somebody that is world famous. You're about as genuine and authentic as you get. And I think that's why I remember the first time you played a practice round at Augusta. I walked with you and they were, I mean, Tiger crowds had nothing on John Daly that week at the masters. I know it's an awkward question to ask about, but that's just how you've always been. I don't know. I think, well, there's no skeletons in my closet. So I've never lied to the fans, whether I screw up or do good. I'm always been honest with them and are they relate to me when I, when I have problems, I tell them because hopefully my problems will help them and hopefully we won't do the same problem over again. So I've always been I've always been true to my fans. I've always been real. I'm not some fake that, you know, hide stuff and bottles it up inside where oh, I hope the press doesn't find out about this. There's not one thing the.

"I did not take the guy up on that offer, I should have. We are here on Friday afternoon. And we're going to replace something that, well, you haven't seen it yet, but we talked to John Daly the other day, Wednesday to be exact at the region's tradition. I was just checking out the cigarettes. Well, welcome. This is Paul fine bomber. John Daley. The more and more man. You have a deal with him? I wish. That'd be pretty cool. I knew a lot of stuff for Phillip Morris. I bet you did. We have a lot of fun. Again, I've gotten to know you over the years. We keep up entirely about the razor blades. I love my house. I love what your checks are on there, hiring the coaches that he's hired and, you know, van horn's alleged there in our baseball, a girl softball, a girl soccer, I mean, our football program, muscleman and Pittman is doing a great job must have been doing a great job basketball. I mean, the audience would be surprised, I mean, I know you wouldn't be, but how rabbit is, I'm afraid to say anything negative about Arkansas, knowing that I'm going to look down and there you are. And I don't want that. I don't need a guy who holds a cigarette live on television coming after me. So let me talk about you for a second. I mean, everyone knows your golf. One two major championships, which people that everybody said, the first one was a fluke. The second one wasn't. Right. Yeah. When the British opened in the fluke. Oh, I mean, you know, people go, why didn't he win more? And I go, well, there's still only like 30 under 30 people that's ever won two majors. They act like it's so easy to do. That's a big deal. And it's like the SEC, people think it's so easy to win football games. Well, it's not. I mean, it's just, it's hard. The guys are so good out there. The guys are so great on this champion tour. Do you feel like the horse that won The Kentucky Derby because you were about the same, I mean, you were at the 6 or 7 alternate for the PGA 9th alternate, yeah. Yeah, my brother bet that horse too. Did he really? Yeah, he bet 21. And I thought I had the worst on horses, but I guess when I put my bed in, the odds change, so they went from 19 one to 27 to one, but he had 21, and one I think. I know you're obviously, I mean, you're out here in the champions who are, but I don't think people understand how busy you are representing corporate clients who just gravitate to you. What's a week like for you? And what do you do? Well, this tour, you know, you think this store is great. I love the champions tour, but we do play a lot of pro lambs. We do a lot of dinners. We do a lot of outside stuff that can wear and tear you down a little bit, but you know, we've earned it and, you know, for me to do a job in riding a golf cart and have some fun and make a little money here and there, it's not a bad deal. Speaking of money, we were rather entertained a few weeks ago to see you and your son. It was a hooper's trying to remember..

"He's doing well, top categories and a lot of the major categories when it comes to offensive play. Kris Bryant is that dude, which is a far crime from the poll question We did three weeks to a month ago about who is the mainstay for the Cubs here for the future buyers or Bryant. Saw that wasn't like 70 30 bias. Yeah, and I was on Bryant course, as were you the fans but that no, you know, Let's be fair. I thought that buyers would turn the corner of this year. And that has happened The case not like Bryant Bryant, if and I know that Scott Boris is his agent, but it's going to be an interesting negotiation on what's gonna happen with Bryant. Is he going to be with the Cubs with a new deal or go someplace else Because he's worth a ton right now. Ton? He would have been a great stock to buy two years ago. That zoom right there. That's it. I've got a few long shots in there to love betting on major tournament golf, by the way, excuse tied for the lead. That would be John Daly. That's my guy. He birdied his first home minus one and looking homeless. Oh, my God. I saw him yesterday were like Excuse me may barely getting to the green. That's it. That is a professional athlete, but he's hobbling to the green, big white beard, green shorts, terrible shirt, orange pink shirt shaking. Uh, 200 yards. Tecdax uh, he just birdied number one. Let's get into offsides and Amy, I'm going to need you to just just calm until I get the story and you can absolutely explode. In fact, please do we need the ratings? Okay. So Johnny Manziel says, he's looking to become a pro golfer and knows it's a quote very uphill battle a very very uphill battle. He said he's giving myself twelve years to try to play pro golf twelve years. That's a long time. But he said he's going to grind it out. See how good he can get and see if he can't, you know enter some tournaments and see if he can't go play professional golfing. Actually, he says I think it is a very uphill battle. But that's what I'm setting for my goals. I have twelve years to try and make a PGA Tour event go. There's no fucking way. This guy's ever going to be a professional offer because ninety percent of golf is mental. You have to have mental strength and the ability to it's hard to explain but I mean like with most sports especially individual sports a lot of the schedule, you've got to cancel right and you have to be committed and clearly this guy is not committed. So I mean make a decision dude, I want to do with your life. Do you want to play twitch football or do you want to play golf cuz you can't do both. Well, he's just one of these guys that he's like, you know, I'm going to do I know about this so I'm going to do this or I'm I'm Savvy and you know woodworking, so I'm going to be a work woodworker like I mean make a decision dude like home. All over the place with his shit. It drives me absolutely insane and the fact that he thinks that he can just become a professional golfer and twelve years. Give me a break on how hard could it be? Just kidding. I'm kidding. I'm kidding he's going to unleash I can't spit this guy. I just can't I don't know. Why you like this guy Jasmine, please. Please tell me why you like him because I loved the story of him. I just it's just you I just do listen and story what story I don't I don't know I guess cuz I would just like to go drink with him. We promise it hasn't NFA me promises and Has an NFL time promises says and an offsides Johnny Manziel's really pissing me off. Oh boy. Is he ever I saw this and I was like, oh and we'll get it done that. Okay, let's start our NFL Orthodontics news with this story. Even with the actual entire hell is the story. This is I don't even understand people. Okay. So Jack Lambert, he was a middle linebacker for the Steelers. He won four Super Bowls 9 Pro bowls. He was on I mean this guy's kind of a big deal, right? Okay, so he needs to apply himself more as what you're saying. Yeah. She needs to really do something with his life. He's in the Hall of Fame. He's now 68 years old. Okay apparently decided that he was going to auction off some of his fine collectible items in his personal football collection. Okay, so Lot number 590 of the lelands spring classic collection. Okay includes the container that held Lambert's false teeth during games. The teeth are not included. Somebody actually paid off come out that there's no teeth include an amount to have the TV older of Jack Lambert between water has an opening bid of $300 and runs through April 2nd. So we don't exactly know how long this is going to go for but people are actually bidding on this Jasmine the team folder. Maybe this is a beauty 30 even included. Well, that's the one thing you're getting gypped. I want some teeth if I'm going to pull teeth holder, right? Well, maybe this person's just a big ol you know fan of Mister Lambert and it's like, you know, I get Steelers fans. I live with the Steelers fan. But yeah, but we were off. Go by somebody's teeth folder. Like he's a lifelong Cubs fan if Greg Maddux or already Banks had with you know auctioned off their job. I mean no. No, I mean I say no, I mean, who knows? Yeah, you're speaking for him. Number one. Maybe he does want their teeth. Maybe he wants to make a nice necklace out of out of their teeth don't know off me that's inspirational to some folks gross. So as far as the teeth holder goes maybe there is a huge fan of Mister Lambert who also needs a place to put their damn teeth and they're like, well two birds one stone not a huge fan. All right and identify here's my other thing. He played what when he was in his twenties, right he played for ten years for the Steelers. He had false teeth in his twenties. So how how hard are they getting hit back then with zero protection.

You see that image. There's a couple other on our facebook and twitter feed of those two characters while they are. I say have that trails feel to them. I do kind of agree with what president condo said last time that at mediate Glance they don't appear to be trails characters. And i believe that lies in the fact that they are from calvert So they're going to look a little bit different and we'll talk about that in just a little bit. These illustrations were drawn by katsumi. Nama and the other characters are from alcom. Like i said the character's names were not announced to this game is coming out sometime in twenty twenty one in japan so those were the images. There were some other ones as well. The setting moved to the calvert republic in two thousand and twenty one foul calm release. Legend heroes kernigan the latest entering the trail serious as its fortieth anniversary rumors of work. The calvert nation is a multi ethnic nation experiencing unprecedented economic growth. Brought about by post war reparations. In a corner of the capital of a huge nation were immigration issues bringing about political instability. Okay well maybe. There are some spoilers in here okay. let's just get to the best. I'm sorry i read that. And i didn't think about it until just now okay. The command style action time bow system. You didn't previous trails. Titles has been revamped and that's going to set up an from a couple people. Let's just see what they said. Seamlessly transitioned from action oriented field battles to turn based commands battle to turn based command battle systems while making use of the unique elements the sixth generation combat or meant would try to pronounce his last time. I'm not sure how it is x. I f. r. x. i. p. h. a. z. Feel in a ballots to evolve from the previous trails titles. Okay so what does that mean. I don't. I don't know i really don't know how to had say seamlessly transition from action oriented field battles to turn based command battle systems I i mean obviously there's a bit of an extra element when you strike the enemies on the field in order to go into the turn based battle i. I need to see this in action to really know what they're even beginning to talk about would just have to wait and see You will feature many elements you laws. It's setting including a topics system which enabled together until such topics by communicating with. Mpc's out towns tra- gate situations in your favor when you act as a spray gun and that is the The character it's basically a detective. But they're calling them spring and alignment flame system. In which characters three alignments great and chaotic fluctuate depending on your own style influencing various status allies and adversaries and even scenario developments please look forward to allege heroes lowest entrance toasters depicted enrich expression by thumbs new original ingen. So that's that's pretty cool Here's what how they set up the situation and I get. I don't wanna get too much into this. The to emit the two people that you see in the image the one is the one call the speaker those are they say sometimes detective somedays negotiators and other days as bounty hunters. They're up for any job from any client. That's pretty cool And then the other one is Say to be a school girl wearing uniform. Prestigious school visits a rundown building located in old town in cowards capital. So that's the setting that's beginning of it. You can check out those images. Like i said there's a third character in the images as well with the two swords on his back and some long hair but we don't have any details. There is a battle scene that shows what looks like to be a craft or an art powering up but that from that snippet it does look to be turn based. So don't i'm so confused as to what to make. But i'm certainly excited about this one. But the lack of details and the promise of something new is leading to some question marks popping up. And i don't necessarily love that idea but it is what it is and until we learn a little bit more. It's just going to be speculation Unfortunately though that wasn't the only bit of information. And i'm sure we'll have a bunch more but Foul calm day twenty twenty winter. Also let us know about and this is not really affecting us as much. But they did. Say that a hatch marco koseki which is the one before this one and after cold steel four Clouded leopard entertainment will release a switch. Pc esteemed version of the game Sometime in summer. Twenty twenty one in japan in asia. I'm nearly positive. That's the same company that handled The transition for coastal three and four to the top of my head. So i came out for. Ps four in japan on august twenty seventh. So you know nearly a year later. They're talking summer to get that Switch pc version now. It handles the asian side of this and i s america handles the translation available. At least they have for the past two games In the cold still series in the west still no confirmation that that translation is ongoing. That have to assume that it is unless it's being handled by other parties I mean exceed did do the first two trills of cold steel games but at imagine that they are going to do this hedge amari as well and as soon as i hear something about that it will happen. It's certainly a good thing that this is happening and It could lead to a speedier at least for these games in the west. But like i said still no information on unfortunately. The last thing that they talked about was not briefly. Mentioned this last time the natto. noca- seki game. That is coming out in japan for For playstation four. This was the old Two thousand twelve least. Psp action rpg though some new details and images kinda showing the ps p version versus the Ps four version of it They're sent opposites gonna run at sixty frames per second on. Ps four with more vibrant graphics. Not being obviously these are things that you'd want to have updated from an old old system user interface options One thing that i thought was very interesting. And i'm not to say what they say. This game is not connected to the trails game. However the main character's name is now utah herschel now you trails players especially cold. Steel will know towa. Her last name is hershal So what they're they say there's no connection but then there's a connection is the protagonist and a boy from that island who attends and academy in saint elise. Those aren't you know aren't names that i recognized the from the trails series so it is very very interesting and i would be would like to know what that connection is at kind of read through it. You can read through the tales. Like i said before i am lower on the percentage scale To say of this game was actually going to make it over here or not. I if i if you say your day is gonna come today out outs. Action say no but would just have to wait and see. The original game did not look super impressive. So this isn't a game that i'm all that excited about to begin with but we'll have to. We'll just have to wait and see if that indeed happens for a lot of switch owners the next. Gop g they will more than likely be picking up is going to be bravely default to gain closer and closer to that february twenty. Sixth rolled wide release date friend square annex released new trailer for it albeit in japanese and have still not seen an english version of this yet so it talks all well. Supposedly it talks about wiz walt. The country established by those mejia's. They did it themselves to studies. The magic research institute But the the real kicker with this one and you can see it. Is this places overgrown. It looks like it was built kind of in the middle of it are on top of a giant tree. And there's just this tree just going right up through entire town is really cool again Trailer is how long was trailer of about three and a half minutes. Like i said in japanese so you can't really tell what's going on but it is kind of cool to see some of the visuals in action Four it but if you're elected shake those game out for yourself you can check out the demo for it It is now live on the east shop and One who feels the demo before its release will even pick up one hundred mine. Intendo platinum points here is the Short official description of the demo experienced the games at risk and reward system character strategy and stunning visuals in the latest braley default to final demo in this demo. The games four men characters are already other journey with jobson abilities at their disposal. I downloaded this. The other night. as if getting the switch away from my kid was hard enough with minecraft previously The kid did pretty good for Christmas and her birthday. And i now had to contend with her own copy of animal crossing so she and my wife can play two switches and who copies of animal crossing so they can will each other's islands. I know she also got the Spyro trilogy which. I really enjoyed those games growing up. So i can't wait to play those with her and relive those moments and she picked up mario maker to so. I'm not seeing that switch for a while. Maybe once she goes to sleep. If i don't have anything to play eck fired that demo. I would like to see how it is shaping up as will If you've got some free time and you're looking for d'you monster hunter rise. There are to say ten videos in total. Let's do a little no here. One two three four seven eight nine ten eleven twelve. There's twelve total. So i check. They were they were released in two packs. I take them all and made them into six long. Because it only about a minute minute long. So if you're one to check out some of the different weapons they go into monster hunter rise. You can do that going from Things like the switch axe gun lance hammer sorted shield heavy light bogue gun. Land is long swords and even the hunting horn. You check all those out over on our youtube channel. J rpg report dot com. You can also see a new second official trailer for the action. Rpg magnum lord Still no western released on this one yet. It is coming out in japan on march. The eighteenth for playstation four and switch said. This is the second trailer for the game. It looks pretty cool. I do hope that they bring this one. Over is from publisher. D three Developer felicia quite heard of them before. But still no word on it. I really hope they bring this over because it does pretty fun but yeah nothing Nothing quite yet. i'll go over some of these ones. That are just videos. There's a fifteen minutes of new footage from christ tales. This is previewing the present and future game play of it Remember this game got pushed back to early. Twenty twenty one. That's just the winner that don't into it's been Hit with a couple delays here lately. Not sure how much. Everything's pandemic related at this point but how much they just wanna fine tune things in. How much is really needed to make this work. Obviously you're doing with a system of past present and future while stuff can go wrong and working Just the way that you would like it to work New genesis the fantasy star online. To almost say reboot but definitely the new version of there is the opening movie for it and you should probably check this out. If we're looking at over fifty minutes of new footage as well mostly the character creation for its but this opening movie You know typically when you see these opening movies. They're using a pre rendered scenes. This was actually created using parts of the in game graphics. Engine which looks amazing Definitely if you're looking forward to this you should check it out sometime in twenty twenty. One is the release date Four it but again. This is one of those. Well not one of those but this is the faa gain. That i'm kind of just don't understand why it's not on playstation four. In the west it is in japan. But you've got to either play on xbox or on pc here in the west doesn't make a ton of sense but there's just things like that in this world that we gotta kinda get used to them. I guess we got three bits of sky news this week. i is. You can check out the fourth official trailer for six defiance of destiny I believe there's an english. There's an english version for this out. Now you can check it out. There was originally came out. There was just a japanese version but the english version shows off of really cool voices that they've got for the game. They got some good voice. Talent in this one in Very fitting for the series especially the little reincarnated pug services is awesome It's about seven or review of the game If you are curious about what's going on in this one changes that they've made this series. You will definitely want to check it out. Of course it doesn't come out in the west until summer. Twenty twenty one. Japan is going to get it in right about a month on january. The twenty eighth The other day actually. This was on christmas eve that this news broke New punchy released some new information screenshots for the game featuring and i hope i get these names right la haro aetna and flown Those were the original characters from the original the sky and they are saying that Basically once you beat the game you can Play a scenario with these original characters in it so kind of a you know. They're not in the main game this something post post content but the fact that they're in their would open the door to other characters popping up from other games as well. So that's a cool thing The world inside of an item. I m worlds have mended. Detailed in this article on worlds are divided into several fours slash layers and the items level increases with every four. That you clear says weapons become stronger as they level up. You can clear there either. Worlds to power them up once. An item is leveled up. You can get the same item at the same level from then on pretty cool feature of the sky series all these images i took input into a slide show. You can check that out on our youtube channel so you can dispatch companions into item worlds to research them. There's a new team attack system with up to ten characters in it. That's a pretty cool feature. New enemies were detailed There's a new horsemen. That's pretty crazy. So here's the Previous protagonist Oh here we go says not only will hear from. Our doctors appear the protagonist in heroines of the sky. Two three four and five will also appear in three d. The protagonist and heroines wilburs as downloadable content sometime after the launch of disguise six. So there's a from the sky to or i don't know in timika these pronunciations. I'm at risk of offending people. I understand how they're supposed to be pronounced So yeah they're gonna add them in there as as post content deal see. That's the type of thing. Like i would think you'd be okay with paying for because that's obviously not a part of disguise six. They are previous games characters in new content. So take how you feel about. Dlc that is that's one thing i think is is no k To do speaking of all those previous disguised characters they are all assembled in the rpg. Mobile game And we got news from bolt chain games that they will release worldwide the mobile version the sky arc in spring. Twenty twenty one Unless you're in these countries in the no fast if you are but we are a western primarily focused podcasts. So you're not going to get in china taiwan hong kong macau singapore malaysia or korea Sorry don't i don't know why maybe that is. Just it's gonna come out later. Maybe there's some rules preventing that From happening if we're interested in getting it on a closed beta for the game. They will have one for canada. Brazil australia and the philippines sometime in january so really happy to see this thing go worldwide. There was a global announced trailer for it This came back It came back in march of twenty nineteen in japan. Had a whole bunch of issues with it and It was de definitely the this game was deadly responsible for some financial hardships for nippon ichi. And they finally got up. Right obviously gotta writes the point. Now they're really to bring this thing out worldwide As far as the gotcha game or not. I don't know if i recall. I think it was paid game. But i should probably ended up before speaking about it. But i'm sure there's elements in there but hopefully this is a Not another one of those kind of like. We've we've like. We've got enough of those already know ankara today. So in place of it you get one last plea for listener support We've had a few people signed up for but really not a whole lot of response so I kind of said you guys. I would do this to the year. See what we got and move forward I would love to have listener support. Not have the need for ads but it is just a reality of life and we may just see what that happens. If i get a bunch outpouring of support here after listening to this. I may reconsider. Dx and the They were supposed to come on japan on february twenty eighth. they have been delayed until march fourth. Twenty twenty one in japan. So if and when a western. What's going to happen for that. it's now going to be About five weeks later. I would to guess based on This delay these games Were from chloe tecmo and gusts so yeah just a little bit of Delay they save for further quality improvements. The games will be available for. Ps four switch and pcv steam win. They are released whenever that is sort. Online alsatian lakers got version one point to update it is now available and it adds a simone's ancient apostles story of course over various user interface online system battle improvements bugs fixed in addition to those two that new ancient apostles. All these games coming out here in the near future. I've got one last. So i've still got a good thirty to forty hours to go hopefully make it in time to Play roz a two day one but we have to wait and see that game just keeps on keeps on going but Going to be is going to be tough. I'm really going to have to search my feelings. That i think is flowing anything to if it's going to be found pacers. Seven remastered or a remake rather or four. It's it's really tough there. There's my heart says one thing amonte says another and there's different things to have to consider overall ought to make that final decision here real soon on what that What was looking forward to our thoughts here are coming out this week on. Kyle duncan beckett. Chicago's Cook County Board passes Juneteenth ordinance

"June 19th as a new holiday, bill, Cameron says it's for Juneteenth the day that marks the end of slavery after the civil war in teeth was unanimously approved as a paid holiday for Cook County workers. Irish politician John Daly supported it. The Republican County chairman, Sean Morrison, voted for it. It points to a significant time in our Internation that I think that it is important that we acknowledge that those things that have occurred in our past and and it also allows us a focal point to come together to show you our dollar bills. It says. E pluribus of many one, and Let's not forget that that is the strongest element of our nation and always has been, and so Cook County becomes the first local government. The state to make Juneteenth a paid holiday. Bill Cameron

"Your efforts Tallahassee mayor John Daly thank you for being with us today thank you agitators across the country are scrambling for creative ways to keep students engaged in remote learning and that is just the beginning of the major challenges ahead once the new school year begins this fall but there are plans being laid to help with this new transition to learning and joining me now to tell us all about it is Kathy Mears interim president and CEO of the national Catholic educational association thank you for being with us we certainly appreciate a cap and I know this is so new still from both students and teachers tell us what Catholic educators are doing right now to help students get through this distance learning well I think all of our teachers and principals are acting as first year teachers and principals no one's been through this before and they're doing it with a lot of grace they are doing are engaged in a lot of professional development so they can learn the techniques that they need to engage students in a remote learning environment but most of all they're treating their students like they always have with a lot of love and respect I'm Catholic schools believe that communication is an intimate communication between souls and in order to have that intimate communication you have to have a relationship so mostly we remove all remind ourselves every day that we are to love the children first and then to teach them and when we do that we know that we're more successful what ARE teachers planning on doing if schools do remain closed this fall well we're all hopeful that will happen but if it does happen we'll be prepared like I said our teachers are engaging in professional development over the summer and they're trying to build relationships with students over the summer in different ways many of our Catholic schools are small and they know that when they get to fourth grade gonna have Mrs Lewis and the students in third grade reading notices losses that so that helps us a lot because we don't have a lot of transitions in our schools because many of them are K. through eight and that helps with building that relationship distance learning goes a lot further when we're in a relationship before we jump into it but if we have to jump into it at the beginning of the school year we will do that with a lot of hope and joy and we will keep focus on students and their families from the church also believes that students and parents or the person primary educators of their their children so we will work with parents and brothers partnerships to make sure that we're meeting the needs of our students the best way that we can nationwide I know you know this more than twelve hundred Catholic schools have closed in this past decade and typically that happened as a result the financial stress so that said what impact discovered nineteen having on parishes and their schools financially it it we're taking a big hit right now we wish it weren't so bad parents are struggling to pay tuition most of our parents aren't saying we're not going to pay at the door asking for more time to pay it and we're we are working with families all over the country we have some great corporate partners like fax and others who are helping us with that too so that we can support parents as they figure out how to feed their children first in Catholic schools are helping out with that too we are providing meals and Catholic charities are providing meals and food to family so we're all working together to make that happen there's no doubt the financial impact could have grave consequences for Catholic schools we are hopeful that Catholic schools will survive disbanded I make and still be there to teach our students because we know that Catholic education is a true gift to the nation and we know that our graduates are more likely to vote they're more likely to volunteer and we are grateful every day for the graduates of Catholic schools are leading during this pandemic our doctor found she has the is a Catholic school graduate I think he was educated from first grade to sixteen at least in Catholic schools and so we're grateful for people like him who understand that it's really important to be well educated and it's really important to know that faith is our foundation and that to be a good leader we need to be ethical and moral that's wonderful Kathy Mears we certainly appreciate we wish you the very best thanks for being with us today thank you very much Amy UP next right here when.

"To the ground zero John Daly because with us tonight thirty years experience in livestock and meat industry consulting here to talk about what else the meat industry in what is going on with some of the media pushing the idea that we're missing meat shortages and again talking about how it was a great year for meat production pork chicken production and now for some reason it's gone south and of course the impossible burger is now replacing everything and so is pork beef and chicken plants are being forced to closing for short periods of time we're seeing millions of pounds of meat disappearing from the supply chain as a result they're saying there's going to be a limited supply however it's not as good as we think it's going to my guest tonight so let me just ask you about this too they're talking about meat shortages okay but what about food waste I'm hearing stories about chickens being euthanized I'm hearing stories about cows and and pigs being euthanized is that happening well I think they will certainly on the on the chickens in and the pigs does the situation with the cattle and this is another you know another big issue on the on the beach I'm a big part of it is that you can build cattle can stand in a feedlot and then wait to order you know to go to the plant to be no harvested in I guess I I guess I could I guess you know you don't want to use words long no not at all what it is I mean what goes from the farm to the plate we know it's slaughtered when it's done so they got slaughtered and processed.

Golfer Rich Beem on Q School and Beer Guts

"Let's get back to our interview with rich. Beem in this time period q-school. How did that work is that? How is that what? Your Path was to the PGA tour or able to just signed straight up for Q-school. Did you buy the minor leagues? Basically did I literally went straight from the pro shop to the PGA tour? So I'd won the section the Section Assistance Championship in nineteen ninety. Eight and nineteen ninety. Eight is what I really start playing really good and I have no idea what it what. How old are you at that time? Then Ninety eight I would have been twenty eight okay. So you're not a young. You're not a young Modo outta college but but naive for sure and I'll get to more of that later on but I went to q school. I won the assistance championship and it used to be years prior. That would actually get you a bypass of going first stage. And and so I would have been exempted second-stage although in nineteen ninety eight. They took that out. They said Nope you. You still have to go to first day so I had to go through all three stages of Q-school and I ended up in first one was in Scottsdale at a golf course called talking stick Ben Ben Crenshaw bellcore design fantastic track but I had to shoot sixty seven the final day to make it through to make it through first Yup through I age and then the second the second one was in Houston on the final day I was in by about two or three going into the final round and I was to over through six holes and on the seventh hole. I had a shot with a wedge but in the rough and I thought Flyer no-fly I don't think flyer it was a flyer and I absolutely air mail the green by like thirty yards and I got no shot. I have zero shot so I get back over there I find it. I hit it back to the front of the Green. I got sixty feet left. I'm choking and a mad on the same breath I mean I can't control myself. I'm literally trying not to vomit because I know that making the finals is a big deal well before I even thought about it. I pull the trigger. Hit knocked it in and then birdied the next two holes in the night. I shot I. I shot seventy one and got through comfortably at the end of the day but there are some the pressure of the stories you hear about Q-school in about how much pressure puts on you. It's unbelievable because if you don't get through second-stage you've just wasted five thousand bucks you nothing you guys that you got no status anywhere and so that was a big deal. That was a huge deal for me. In fact I funny enough bill hyme who caddied for me for fourteen years and come back and county for me. When when I turned fifty he actually was same venue. He lost in a playoff back then. They had a playoff. He lost in a playoff to get to the finals and then he actually drove out to finals. In case anybody withdrew and finals he was the first alternate in. Nobody dropped out in you. Figure that out of the two hundred seven guys are at finals. Somebody one guy nothing. Nobody dropped out so Turned out to be in both of our favors because he had a great career together and he's one of my closest friends but it was pretty funny. How how that'll happen. And you make it all the weight. How many how many. I looked up your class right here on Wikipedia. You have forty one guys make it through. How many are you estimate? I don't know the answer to this. But how many are you? Estimating had to go through from first stage all the way through the. There's a few of them that had to come to be fair. I don't know what the I mean. You Bo Van Pelt Charles Warren Jeffrey Hart and Rio Bravo and David Seawall in Roy Sabatini David Zero. Pga TOUR STARTS HERE. The only guys on there that had needs zero. Pj torstar so my buddies that came out of that was Bo. Van Pelt. Brian Baird Bird. I got to be close with. Oh I'm drawing a blank. I can't believe I'm drawn blanks on this. I'm so bad with names. It's killing me but I you know there's a bunch of guys that I became you know just because we went through that process together. It really was one of those weeks where you just. Kinda put your head down and you just keep on going. I know Mike. We're want it Mike sposa. That's the guy that was going to expose him. Brian Baird just because we we hung out together when we because right after. You got your car. You went to a class and we went through media class which I think that everybody in the room. Everybody well I I know for me. Factually I didn't hear a single word at. I know that the big Gulp in my hand wasn't really a big old. It was a big but it wasn't. It wasn't as advertised. So what? Yeah what is your. What is your reputation. Did you have a partying reputation on a founded reputation? Well-founded yeah I'M NOT GONNA Deny I. It's it's interesting because I think that a lot of the guys in there it's true. I listened soon as I get done playing golf. I like to have beverage. I absolutely have to have a beverage. I'm not going to deny that one iota. It was kind of in the air though when tiger was kicking everybody's ass and workouts were becoming super popular fitness. All of that sports psychologist. I mean all of it was it was. You know that's how it was but I mean before the final round at the Kemper Open and ninety nine at a big old fat enchilada plate and four cores. Lights that my dinner. That was just how I didn't you know and I think a lot of times. It was frowned upon where in generation. Before that you know. It's kind of like smoking. Everybody everybody used to smoke Nobody smokes right. 'cause it's frowned upon. It's looked down upon right but I listen. It was good. I had some good times. There's no doubt about it you know and I was successful at what I did now. I did it so well you away. At least a lot of people were some people work. You need some sort of release. I imagine after Tournament Golf. So when I when I played in tournaments like Inbetween Rounds Dude. I need a drink after a grinding for four or five hours and I think that there's there's something to that. Yeah I think there's a lot to that. I think that there's I think for different people at it. You know having having a drink it's more psychological because I needed because I've got eighty and I needed a way to stop thinking about golf. I needed a way to sit there. And not fret over what my stroke or what. My swing felt like or anything like that. Because if 'cause I could sit there and just go nuts. I still do go nuts. I mean there's a lot of time laying in bed in the middle of the night and I'm literally thinking about my putting or I'm thinking about my chip. I'm thinking about something that has to do with golf. That's just the way mine works. You know after a while you just get tired of that. Sure you just get burnt out of thinking about it all the time. It just eats gnaws at USA for for me when it came to the PGA tour in tournament. Golf I mean listen I I. They're probably very few rounds very around probably more so today. I I don't have. I don't drink a lot when after I play golf. Just kind of getting to that age and my body just doesn't like it that much anymore but I just I needed to have something to kind of smooth me out because I was so high strung and listen to other people do it different ways some guys want to go do push ups some guys. WanNa go running. I liked the smell of of wooden barstools and inside of a sitting at the bar watching TV. Well I think that there's a lot of people out there that kind of long for those days on the PGA tour both players and fans kind of you know a Lotta people love the some of the beer guts and that kind of culture seems to have gone by the way word and would you say you were one of the guys that kind of kept that going into the two thousands and who were some of those guys would kind of more celebrate that lifestyle though the unfortunately he's not on tour anymore but Anthony. Kim was legendary. Yeah legend give me absolutely everything. You've got to be fair. I mean some of it. I don't quite recall but I mean I remember. I didn't even hang out with them. I didn't hang out with them a lot off the golf course. I think in. That probably was good for both of us because I think we would have enabled one another quite a bit but I mean I remember Vegas a couple of times and you just you. You hear the stories about you know. There was a five day event and he was out and he was legend. I mean he would. He would go hard and he was not afraid to spend money. I mean the kid was unbelievable. Talented player I mean. There's no doubt about it. And but he was he could go. There are some guys that could could fly. I mean I for me. It was more I actually would. I would have probably sit there with my caddie and hang out with my caddie more than even I'd probably go sit in the caddy room. Instead of hang out up in the in the players locker room I spent more time just going out today with my caddie than I did any other players but you know you could hear stories about some guys who like to go and some guys when I first got on tour. There's a few guys Ted purdy would. It was always fun. Hang you know especially when we had missed the cut. I mean Ted was always good to hang with. It's not like John. Daly ask you know where you would go and where you would just go into your ran into a wall. And then you'd back up and run through the wall and go. I mean it was in by our standards. It was fairly tame but just sitting around. Just having a giggle and and enjoying life and whatnot. Not Letting not letting anything get you down you know after misguide or or celebrating after after a nice week cabinet evidence solid week or something like that but you know there are some guys that that are very quiet about how they do it but I promise you there's guys out there that are right in the middle of it and they like to have fun. Well who's your caddy that you that it was at Steve. Duplantis Steve duplantis was my caddy for the Kemper. Open win he was my he was Caddy for me for probably about five months five months and I finally said I can't hang with anymore. Yes we're just a bad influence on each out part of it but I I think though in one of my rare mature moments. I figured that you know what probably needs somebody. That's a little more grounded and I went through probably three or four guys so I found the right one and then once I found the right

"Show Monday morning at six AM right and you know her Prester John Daly and Bret Burkhart every and and sherry simply eat eat and they are all excited and we are to be listening I'll be out of course I'll be sitting around in my underwear which always makes people Starbucks nervous anyway so what happened this week on Wall Street yes thirty five hundred point selloff I'm you know what I'm gonna say this I it was an historically bad week for the market and they saw a little bit of everything but you know I did what they didn't see it in my opinion is panic it said that most people talk about they say the market trading volumes about where would be in a situation like that I mean you could have to panic you got you have twenty five thousand points and it went down from like you know twenty twenty nine to down to like what is it right to it today that is above the curb stay above twenty five I think a drop below twenty five actually did drop below twenty five one point and then I I don't I can back up anyway you know what the selling was aggressive he didn't seem like it was panic that's that's what my you know so I I was hesitant to call you know my guy UBS and but I did I call them today I was kind of curious but the one stock we cap which is an energy stock that went down on Wednesday and Thursday and but came up today and I was just talking to me said now people weren't panicking I think you know the large big money stand in there because people you know if if you're like you know I mean I did call you know the our our our company investing I put that into you know I took that out of the market and put it into bonds and CDS you know safer stuff I thought and I you know I I just don't I don't think it's a panic situation you know I think that it's gonna it will come back here's the key again if next week it takes it below twenty twenty percent of the time it's about ten percent is a correction right a ten percent drop the correction twenty percent it's a bear market drops twenty percent next week over the high then it's probably gonna take like six months to come back just the worst news yeah for the president and to that end you have trump commenting today and he says he you know he's saying stuff that no president used to say but he's out he's saying he hopes the fed will get involved soon it took combat market sell off and again when the fed lowers the interest rate what that means is it's a lower interest rate for the money that banks land other banks so banks can't lend money they don't half right so they have to borrow money and they did they could borrow from the fed but the fed wants in the bar from each other so that's the interest rate so that that that ends up to be a a number that affects you if you're a buyer we talk about with you know Kevin Lyons thank finding the guy endorse you if whatever interest rate you're paying on your home I was on I mean to do a commercial for him but he's in the business of helping people get so you know I mean the people like that I thought after that six year old guy that called me that said that you know he was thinking about selling and he stayed in and he's out he's not working you know but there you know the probably will get back up in the next year at the very least back UP to near twenty nine level because you know the the economy still looks out of.

"I was flipping through different channels. I had the laptop with my twitter feed and all of a sudden. I'm just I'm just kind of re sending out. All these different things are happening. So I got the State Department. I was able to send up stuff. Here's the phone number I started doing stuff and I did it for about three or four hours. In I got a number of emails from people saying thank you so much. I followed you the whole time fine until I found out that like child was okay over in Paris and is your information was really good and now it. I put everything up. There was some wacky stuff that that I did not but what I found. was that if you do this for yourself I mean you've got it right there. I mean twitter. Twitter has its problems with no. Everybody says that but at the same time to if you use it for yourself. It's one of the key tips that I actually found was that if you if you if you get in contact with your local TV news station on twitter and you follow the assignment manager what happens is that assignment manager. There is the first person to put out there. Hey I just heard that. There was a plane crash in farmer. Jones's design buddy seen anything is not a new story. I think that goes out over sure the twitter. You're like okay. I'm actually on top of it before anybody else stroup so so I think and that's that's the assignment manager the now the I don't know how it is in Canada but in the in the US the assignment manager is a the person who's on the desk listening to the you know the radios and sure scanner and they're the ones who are going to the phone own and say hey joe cameramen over there. This is what's happening now now in so they kind of set up where we're all crews are going to be going in with breaking breaking. Who Do you break off of. Okay you doing a feature story. You're getting off the feature stories. GotTa go do this breaking news because you're right there so that's K so I wanNA. I WanNa ask you a question because I feel like I guy that. I think it helped me with this. I think there is a problem in my candidate Ontario -Tario for sure and probably across United States with people have slowly and steadily abandoned local news okay so for example example. I've watched in southern Ontario as all the vibrant 'cause. I used to deliver a local newspaper when I was a kid the North York Mirror okay which was Celebri- local newspaper that only dealt in local issues and then had a big subscribership and people would get this newspaper and they would read about the local municipality education candidates in trustees and all this sort of stuff. If you went to my town right now in Snowville they would if somebody was going to talk about politics it would probably be about Donald Trump and donald trump has other than the US MCA. Okay why has zero impact on the lives of civilians okay absolutely zero but if you ask them who their local city councillor was who was the person and that was in charge of the garbage collection in the neighborhood and clearing the snow and so on and so forth real issues for the town of stove they they would have no idea who it is and I is there a way that you could set up your twitter feed or your facebook newsfeed to give you a good dose of local local news in your area. Yeah actually you could it get it depends upon your area as well and what we're seeing here in the US with us. You might be seeing a Peres that local news in the in the in the cities especially the bigger cities is actually doing very well. It's out in the rural areas or the smaller cities so for instance. I'm I'm right in between Myrtle beach and Wilmington. I never see TV news crews out here sure and so what you do is you could follow like silent manager of a couple of TV stations because if there's something breaking you find out I would try to follow any of the reporters from the local newspapers I would sit problem is all all the local newspapers are now owned by the towns because they were going to jail yeah so like for example we get this. The Stole Ville Free Depress is owned by the town of Stouffville. Now that doesn't make any sense. How can it be that Stouffville free press if the office is right next to the mayor's office right. This is a big problem. Yeah it's a big problem and then you'll have conglomerates that own all swathe of local newspapers right at a bunch of different towns and you'll have towns that have that have no local news so the town owns a local newspaper. It's a problem it's a problem because you can't get balanced messages on so for example. There's nothing more important than who the trustees are for the local schools okay. That's very important issue for people that live wherever right who's a trustee who spend in the money. What are they doing. Are they building the school school or the adding the extra if you have concerns about autism or children with down syndrome and how they're going to be you need to know who you're trustee is and find out what they're doing in that area area very difficult to find news on this sort of stuff man. It's very very difficult and it would be a I think we as a one of the benefits from the stuff. You're working on now. Which is this resurgence of? It's almost like democracy ties ation of media in a sense because of the phones would be the re the emergence of local news and and things that matter to people absolutely and and people can you know they can take it into their own hands. Yes I mean if they've got a good phone camera sure and they've got a little bit of journalistic ideas and integrity go. Do It yourself There's there's an organization. That's just starting the US. approached me about doing some instructional videos for it's called News Dot TV and O. Z. Not TV. They're just kind of getting off the ground so I've been like okay well. Let me see if I can if I can help. Consort specs zone waiting on that but they're doing is is that it's individuals become local broadcasters get and is is strictly what you would call traditional news probably not it might be a little bit more on here's what's coming up in waster festival coming up so that that they can talk about that or promote that but I do think I think as as more rural rural towns get wired so that you've got high fiber going right into someone's house not only will they will help the education helped the economy but it also helps creating a new zero newscast so for instance. I mean now if I wanted to create my own newscast I could do it. I go out and do two or three pieces of day. Okay Eric put it on a website. the the problem is you've got to get some money to market so you start reaching people it's no different than when. I was a TV news anchor in different cities. The biggest thing to get ratings was the news anchor to go out and do APPLICA- vets. Let's so people knew who the person what so you know. I think I'll watch it. I'll watch the and it's it's almost the exact same way and I think that is going to start happening. I think you're gonNA start seeing you know neighborhoods having their own newscast now. Will it be hard hitting news. Where are you know we found out Joe is doing the other night now. It's going to be more. Here's what's happening in your neighborhood. You are things to look out for. You know warnings. Hey somebody walking around the neighborhood belong here that use a video the guy you're anything stuff. Jessica's cat went missing Jessica's cat way missing and she's a brown tabby and she's about this big and here's a picture of her absolutely absolutely so you're you're beginning to see that and I think I think it's going to happen more and more. I think it's iphone cameras going to be ubiquitous. You'll be able to go live from you know from anywhere. I mean look at me. I'm talking you live for it's crazy right now. John I got a theory for you so a lot of the we had. We had a little bit of a thing about the the fascist and all sorts i. I don't actually buy that. I think it would be impossible for anybody like a Mussalini or Hitler or the Spanish guy to Franko. I think it'd be impossible for one of these jerks to come along and and and get his hooks into an industrialized nation state and and I use that to further some disgusting agenda of genetic superiority or one of these things that that that went on in the twentieth century sorry I think we're past that I think a lot of what's going on is like a reverse globalization and it starting like you can see it at the nation state eight level where Pete Miller kinda going. You know what it's time to like this idea of the world being open and you know all you know. Y- I have two dollar Ram dollar stores everywhere consumerism all these people withdrawing from that and what you're seeing being is like sort of pride in nation emerge at a high level and you know the the ivory white tower our class sort of seize looks at it with suspicion and says we've seen this before. This is this but I think it's something new I think it's the people in a way trying to recapture their identities and draw themselves out of the the globalized world because you know I. I don't think people want dollars. I don't think they want dollar stores in more stuff which is what globalization delivers to them on on a platter and more and more engagement or addiction whatever you WANNA call it to their phones. I think they WANNA take their communities back in the Zeitgeist. I don't I think is one of tyranny and communism. I mean you got to distinguish between socialism and communists United States could use a little dose socialism here and there and it is it is a welfare state as much as America doesn't want to admit it. I mean if you look at how much money you guys spend on Medicaid Medicare care social schemes for the elderly. You guys are a welfare state this. You're not capitalist your a social democracy so if you look at all this I think what we're seeing across across Europe and the West and even at the Central Central and South America with the guy in Brasilia. Bolsonaro is like a re kind of establishment Schmidt of boundaries and it's healthy. It's like this is Brazil. This is not China's playground for lithium and the idea or whatever it is you know what I'm saying like. This is not like globalization being used to justify the the mining the rate this the split mining of Indonesia for Lithium because China has so much money they can just go in there and Indonesia turning running around saying you know what we're gonNA enough you know and but they get it gets put out as kind of like these leaders are not free trading or they're naught this trade agreement or whatever and I feel like it's more an expression of people saying you know maybe globalization is gone far far enough. Maybe we WANNA be Brazilians. Maybe we WANNA be Hungarians. Maybe we WANNA be Israelis or Palestinians or something different and pulling back their their identities and saying not everything is about economics actually. Is that fair. I don't know God granted a little bit there but no i. I think you're absolutely right. I think the differences and I always the same thing for for Canada as the United States is that when we we don't necessarily look at people as they're Americans based on what they look like America's based on an idea and I think what a lot of people we'll worry about that. Is that now. You're you're pushing people away. I. I've always said it's not one party. That's doing. It's both artists. Both Republicans organs in Democrats are doing this. You know we should have had a much better immigration policy like Canada's where you come in here based on certain criteria short part of I so I I would agree with you and you're seeing that in the United States that there's a lot the people here in the United States especially the baby boomers yet they want to identify with what they were members of either his kids or what they had and so you are C- I think that there's again sometime simplify stuff stuff so much but I think there's so much complication to what's happening here in the United States. I think you hit you hit one of the biggest thing we're an aging society and you you know there's there's more people who are taking money rather than contributing to the economy and it's great. Our Medicare system is great. It's IT'S A. It's a great system. The problem is it's it's way too expensive and the average recipient of a Medicare buffets horribly only pays in about thirty to fifty percent of using a lifetime so who's paying the younger people coming up.

Tiger Woods jabs at John Daly using a golf cart at PGA Championship: 'I walked on a broken leg'

"Do with Tiger Woods. And Mr John Daly who was a former PGA winner, the two-time winner of the PJ tournaments on the pro tour. And he has a leg condition that is forcing him to ride in a golf guy, which is if you don't follow golf taboo, you walk the courses a little bit of Tiger Woods. I walked with a broken leg. So. That's Tiger Woods. And that's true. He did. And he's not feeling it for Mr John Daly. Now John Daly has said if he walks more than two holes as niece wells up, and he's no good. Now, you are given accommodations when you're a former champion and he is. Frankly, I don't have a problem with it. It's it's happened before Jeff talked about this yesterday, an individual had cancer, and he was he was forced because of that condition to write a golf cart. So it's happened before interesting dynamic is the two had been friends, and I haven't seen Mr. daily's response yet, but I I'm sure it'd be interesting, but it's the dynamic of golf. And again, if you if you don't know the sports, the golfers show up, and they walk the entire course, which is miles of walking now let's not feel too sorry to soil for them. They have a caddy caddy's holding the heavy bag. They're not holding that, maybe that should be the switch. The you can only you can only drive if you don't have a caddy, maybe that's the case. So if she did interesting comment from tiger whether I just thought it was something that we don't hear about much, but a golfer on the PGA tour gonna ride in the Gulf Coast. As the PGA

"Fifteen on the par-four doubled again on the par three seventeenth. And then he birdie one birdie to eagled four he got real hot on the front nine then bogey-five, bogeyed seven and bogeyed the par-three eighth. So seventy two nine shots behind kept kept as the story here this guy's playing incredible. He's very long. He's the defending PGA to appear championship winner from a year ago. And the guys won three of the last seven majors he's finished first or second in three of the last four. This guy plays his best golf in the major. So you would think that this course because it is a deep bombers delight right? If you're one of the real hitters on the tour if you're a bomber a Tony pheno or Dustin. Johnson kept maybe even Rory. I think those are the guys Tigers playing with KEPCO and Francesco Monari yesterday today and tomorrow. So we'll see. And then the other big subplot is Jordan speed is ice cold. I mean these one is three majors, but he hasn't won since the twenty seventeen British he's now gone, he's had no top twenties, all year. So I don't know what's happened with specie but he's he's rolled it back. And then the other subplot to this thing is John Daly's out there with a cart, and we'll see in this the other thing that's going to come up this weekend as the New York galleries, they love tiger. They love Phil Mickelson and they cannot stand Sergio Garcia, and his, his waggling, his constant waggling. And I would imagine they'll let them know it in the next Thursday, Friday real quick, on the cart because I remember the Casey Martin situation, he was born with a with a degenerative problem helped me out a little bit. Did John Daly? Why is John Daly, car is he using a car, just because he didn't take care of himself? And in fact, Nick Faldo yesterday as Tim, he goes, well, I think walking is part of. Of the game. And I'll just leave it at that. John Daly, and a cart, I just think he's had serious serious medical problems. Okay. Because you could argue you know, everybody brings on something I mean, not always, but in, you know, diet and everything, I don't know exactly the particulars of why. With that, that deal. In fact, when they had the US open Martin was all over the place doing interviews. And, you know, he never really made a splash, but he was the first guy to in recent memory to ride in a car. It's a challenge and all those at the time, there's a guy with a degenerative deal whereas his leg would fill with blood, and he had, you know, couldn't wall barely walk fairly walk. And there was an incredible story that the PGA tour should have embraced, put their arms around him been inclusive. They should've looked at it as an incredible opportunity. Instead these idiots decided to fight this guy tooth and nail on it. And it was a terrible PR disaster. I hate to keep picking on Tom Watson. He was right in that group. Of course, Tom Watson's, the same guy that said, Bill Murray should not be allowed at, at the now AT and T tournament at Pebble Beach because he was, you know, taking away from the golfers. But that's, that's my only question on daily. If if you're born with. Something that's one thing. But just if you didn't take care of yourself, that daily has a lifetime exemption and he said that he was suffering from osteoarthritis in his right knee tiger. Woods, criticized him because basically said I played on one knee. I had a broken leg. Yeah. But. Daily said that he, he did not respond angrily. He said Tiger Woods is the best player I've ever played with. And I'm sure it hurt for him. It hurts for me. I'm going to get fixed. Yeah. Well, and that's marts. He said the right thing, and then he plopped into a cart. It's funny, you what's the problem because at the end of the day, most pro golfers will tell you that they learn their most about the course knowledge and that kind of thing from literally walking, the course now this, this course is a bear to walk. So even if you didn't have a bag, you heard Mark cannizzaro telling Murph that just walking Bethpage Black is, is an accomplishment. It's that hilly. Of course, dailies actually calling it the fact that he's in a cart a disadvantage. And I think there are other golfers that with view it as a disadvantage, 'cause you're not getting the same feel for the course. Others would say, hey, you're not expending energy that you can then focus on your golf game. And it's an advantage. You know, I Don I couldn't say definitively advantage or disadvantage. I probably in a super hot, you know, PGA tour PJ championship in some sticky place in August. It's probably more of an advantage than it would be in may. But this course is also challenging to walk. Yeah. And again. This is one of those nobody cares. But I'll say it anyway. You know, what would kind of turn me off about golfing, an early age something about Kerry my bags? You know, I, I don't know why that by guys the concept of caddy. Yes. Just all. I said, nobody cares except me, but I just remember there was something about a funny because when you were hang the guy down the street extra cash for your Bentleys cloth wash. Did you have as much of a problem with the guy who was applying the cloth to your Bentley? No, but I would not consider that any fun spelled hypocrite with wires it. Well, what does that you're saying wash my own car? I'm just saying you, you have this terrible feeling about guys who voluntarily caddy and get paid handsomely to do it. But you don't see. I'm not saying. Titi cloth. Washed, your expensive car. I'm not talking about professional golf. You do what you want your pros, but something about guys go out to the course and say, I it just bothered me here. Kerry, my bags while I walk, and I it just bothered me. You know, not not enough to do anything. I didn't pick it Martha Burk. And I were not out there. I, I would find Tim the guys who are carrying the bags. They're not they're not carrying the bags against their will or anything. No. But I take it away from their families and forced to carry bags with no no pay. I'm just most of the caddy jobs are coveted highly coveted. And the deal is you're talking about having a decent car. That's not fun. It's highly coveted. You pollute test TVs in my ear unless you play with Matt Kuchar who stiffed his Catt. Exactly. Go ahead. You're all excited. I know you don't want to be on, but somehow get through four counties, Gary. I'm your caddy as you're producing. Get me this kid caddy. That's the point I never do in Tim. Well, never Tim going to go along with the gag. You're standing and Gary's line. I know what it is. And go ahead. You're gonna you're going to have a negative thing. You're going to bring up the car, don't talk about. Don't talk in your backswing. No, there's just something about. Hi. I'm the vice president of Chevron, and you will carry my bag and at the end of the round a give you a little tip on. She if your kid if you're lucky Aghia my spikes, and you can clean them form with, that's it. Thank you. Thank you, for the okay. And then when you're done cleaning them, you'll thank me. Okay. So when a guy, thank you, sir from any McLean, your spikes, both you guys as Larry froma tip. All right. When you see a guy just flip this club here, pick this up put in the bag and follow me that doesn't bother. You. Little bit a little bit. You know what I mean? Tim doesn't bother you. I mean, I'd probably be the guy Caron the damn club with you're young guy just to join yourself. And you're not I'm just saying that there's just something about here and be sure and your selective in your elitist nece. Hey, let's just circle back daily for a second daily hasn't. He made one cut at the PGA championship since two thousand seven and the last time that they played at Bethpage he finished tied for seventy well, he's not he's not going to be there on Saturday. Yeah. So he's going to be two in done car two and a as they used to say in the college World Series to an acu- you get you get beat to, and you get the barbecue. And you get the hell out of there. Yup. That's a good one on bresca. They said that at the college World Series were there for two and a okay. These guys to get on an epi were there ever, be a time where you just come in and you just with a gun and one of us. No. Because I think you look at us and you go I could do this and I could do it funnier. Just couldn't just ask us to leave. Don't shoot job if moral I've three boys, right if tomorrow by my boys, any of them got a job caddying at any major club in the in the bay area. San Francisco Olympic whatever Moore said I'd be like what to go. What a great job, it's better than you know. Okay, other jobs that you've had the dad, I could see it doesn't play golf but for you. I mean if you're if you were playing you're spending time together, I don't even care if accounting for me. They could be casting for some rich Catholic on your block. Okay. What are your inner circle? None of I have never I heard of one of your posse. Pasi. I'd bet I get asked if people hear you on the radio and you're joking. I get maybe ten times a year. Somebody. Let's go play around. Six five is Gary is a problem paying someone to carry golf clubs, but no problem paying someone to take down Christmas lights. Well, how is that? They have a company. There's a Christian celebrate with my family take him down. And I'm also paying him up. Okay. Take him down. What? All right. All right. I them down Perry that to for six hours of at an hour. Ronald Reagan this these lights must come down, Mr. garbage. Your compel FPU shoot Larry that I work with you. Go ahead. Great stuff. That's my point is that is not here. Pick this up follow behind me on you hypocrite left, and right. Go ahead. The vice president of Chevron thanking you will carry my bag the end of the round of give you a little tip. Okay. Go ahead. How is that? How my let's take nine millimeter. Hang my Christmas lights for me as a problem with caddying come on g no, no, no. I if you I'm not having a problem with his candies. He says, Gary I just threw in g well I was elected that I had to make the two nine a little bit more street. Good. We'll look forward to your ten other tweets to nine today. I'm just saying it's different when you hire a service than if I stood out in front for six hours in front of my house and said, string it over here. String them their no strings when I'm gone, I don't have to, we don't communicate. And that's it do it when I'm not there when I show up at better be done. Okay. Now. That's. I'm so when I get my. Car back to my house. This crap, better be done. You be gone. Unbelievable. Tim. Can we have eaten the same restaurants together? Have you ever seen any arrogance that would back up to nine if you're lucky a give you my spikes, and you can clean them? We'll take a break, I want to promote what the giants did. Yesterday. Go giants goes by those, we can't eat at Los Altos country club in high school free golf. It was good tips. It was a.

"Obviously, let's start. Tiger woods. Okay. He's eight to one which, again I'm going to say is ridiculous. I would never been anybody to win a golf tournament eight to one. But if I had to I probably wouldn't take Tiger Woods in this one, am I wrong in saying? No. You're not wrong and saying that. And let me just preface that by saying a couple of things. You know, Beth page black is a serious golf. Course it is long. It's just a, you know, Scotia under seventy five hundred yards. It's got an incredible incredible slope of one fifty five so for people that are listening that may not be that attuned into golf having a plan. A golf course it has a slope rating of one fifty five is an analogous to climbing by climbing Mount Everest. You know what I mean? It's steep in Scott, it's got a course rating Bryant of a kitsch over seventy seven while that. And combine all of that. I mean it's incredibly difficult. Number two. They expect some weather, you know, whether it be, I think I've Friday and Sunday hole with a chance. A rain and I think that's going to eliminate half of the field, right there number one, because of the weather, and even if they didn't have whether there, Brian, I think half of the field is eliminated because if you're not a bomber on that golf course your chances are swimming to win in my opinion. So and what I've heard about this golf course, the greens are fairly small, it's a, it's a ball striking golf course. So a guy that hits the ball long and straight probably gonna win this thing. But I guess you could say that about many majors out there. Right. So I look at a guy like Brooks. Kapka. Okay, kept is around ten to one. He's one of the favorites I'll tell you right now. I'd rather put my money on captain Tiger Woods. Well, I agree because kept goes is playing very, very good golf right now. Secondly, tiger winning the masters, you know, getting a lot of pricks and winning the masters but a wins a win. Okay, how hard it is to win a major little go back to back and. Win two majors. It just doesn't happen. And I just don't think the, the outer in tiger saver, especially if it is cold and rain tiger does not play good in cold or rainy weather. He just doesn't well, that's because he's a worst. That's what he requires conditions. That's because he's maintenance. That's why Dennis gimme gimme a long odds darkhorse in this thing. Oh boy. Very good question. You know played last week, and I've always liked a lot of. Is he's from whereas from India, big Roly, poly guy hearing that? Not lahiri. No, no cured that copy barn. Right. Okay. He got the length. He's got the game. He's playing good. I said for years, this guy is got to explode in a good tournament. I don't know what his odds are two hundred and fifty to one but how much two hundred and fifty to one, okay, there you go. John daly. Thousand that's my Bubba Watson, sixty two one boys that that's true Bubba is sixty to one, you know, here's another guy who is just no confidence right now. You know who probably I'm gonna say, Jordan speech, right? Your meal. He's people are I hear the most ridiculous thing the other day that there were when George came out, and he had a stellar year, you know, two three years ago, they're going, there's our next Tiger Woods. There's our next tiger was you gotta be kidding me. Yeah. See, that's, that's just completely ridiculous. All I is so far awful lot. It's Redick doesn't hit the ball far enough. That's the bottom line in this day and age of golf to be one of the best players in the world you have to hit the ball, at least three twenty three thirty three forty t. Has a magnificent short game. We know he's going to win more tournaments and he'll probably win more majors. But he's in my opinion. He will never be the number one player in the world ever again. I happen to agree with you. And I think right now with him. He says he's a grobian he's getting better, especially the short Dame as funny, but he's got demons. And I think that's the only thing that's stirring up on the greens, real. Masonic temple and over thinking that people have been saying that for a long time. Yeah. It's going to be interesting to see how long guys it takes for him to shake those demons and and get back to being him. Let's talk a little bit about Jason day. If you ask me, a guy, I wouldn't really call him a long shot because he's about thirty two one in most books. But Jason day has had a lot of success on, Bethpage. He's had a lot of success on this golf course. I know he's not the best player in the world, but he used to be he knows what it's like to win big golf tournaments. It seems like he is getting much back into form. And he's playing some better golf again. He's my guy that I look at nice say, well might might not be a bad idea to put a couple of bucks on Jason day. He said success here, he can win this tournament. And then I look at a couple of other guys like Patrick Canley, like, Tony female these guys that I think are do they've been in contention, and majors before they certainly have the talent to win it, and it just for them. It's just about getting over the hump. Those are a couple of guys, maybe not the biggest household names, but guys. Is that our top twenty players in the world that I think can win tomorrow? Well, I agree with you. I, I disagree a little bit with can leave. And though he's having a hell of a season but you happen to mention the guy where my money's on to win this tournament. That's Tony female. Yeah. He's all the tools. He hits the ball long way Jos the ball. And he he's got a magnificent. Nag -nificant short game. He's an incredible athlete as long as he doesn't sprain his ankle, a couple days before a major. He'll be he'll be just fun. Every did that the masters. Zander Shaw fell doesn't. He owns that the long drive record like four hundred fifty yards. Doesn't he? Zander sharply. Yeah. Yeah. I was not aware of that. I was not aware of that. I mean he's obviously a fine fine player. I just personally, just don't seem in the Knicks on this. I wouldn't you know, think to bet them, but again, anything can happen, J D And don't forget, all these guys are damn good. But there's certain things you have to have on a golf course like this to really up your percentage in, if you don't have I think you're going to be hitting your gifts your head against well, obviously short game and putting anywhere. But you gotta have the lake to gotta get it in the stairway on this golf course. And again, I think they haven't, you know, this, this course, is held what three or four different big big tournaments before and experience is, is really kind of out the window. I think it just got to look at the guys that are coming in that are kind of hot playing goes speaking of hot. I'm glad you mentioned that because Dustin Johnson has a very hot wife and pulling the Gretzky he is let me mention a few guys Dustin. Johnson. I mentioned, his trophy, wife, Rory mcilroy is twelve to one Rickie, Fowler guy. We haven't talked about is right there at sixteen to one Jon Rahm and other one eighteen to one with Justin Rose. And then you have Molinari in D Shambo at twenty two one those guys that I just mentioned. Is it fair to say that, that those odds are correct? And those guys have a good shot to get this thing as well. I do. I do. I think this one they picked it. They take pretty good. You know, again, there's ways that you can play is, you know, playing really, really good golf not being the longest hitter of the world. And most of these guys, you know, have that they keep them play. They've got a good short game. They have a good imagination. And that's, that's what you'd be on any PGA tour event Brian. You know, that's sure. No absolutely
