Chris Kohls and Sebastian Discuss the Monster in 'Predator'

"Talk about this monster, Kevin Peter hall, 7 foot two, by the way, who moves. I mean, he moves, he's not like Chewbacca, like this lanky awkward person. He is athletic. I mean, the late Kevin Peter hall, when he's jumping from Locke to log, you go do, that is scary when he's lit up by the explosions behind him. He sells it so well. And it's shocking. I was watching the timer through the whole thing. You don't even see him until minute 44 or something, and even then it's the camouflage version, talk to us about the monster. Yeah, and actually the first time you really see the monster without the camouflage, the invisibility cloak or whatever. Is the moment where he's attaching some kind of mechanism to seal up a wound. Yeah, he's putting on a ton of putting on a tourniquet. To sort of, yeah, like a sci-fi tourniquet. And I screamed. And it just cuts to him for a quick second. And it's such a, I mean, here's the thing about monster movies, right? You want to hide the monster for a while. Yes. Because you want to build up the suspense. What does it look like? What does it look like? That's what they did with jaws, right? And alien. At alien, the problem with this technique is that 99% of the time, the monster does not live up to what you've imagined in your mind. Right, because your imagination is always always better. Always better. Always better. Not here. Here, the monster is scarier than what you imagine. You're like, holy boat, what is that, you know? I forget the guy who Sam Winston's. Do you know how they came up with the design? I think I read somewhere like he was on a plane with Eric Eric Eric Eric educated me. I am shocked. I thought I was the biggest movie nerd in this building. Eric educated me three days ago. Tell us the story, Eric. After the John Claude Van Damme in red tights didn't work, how did we get mister mandible? Stan Winston was sitting on a plane flying back from the location, I believe, and doing just sketches of what the monster could look like. And he was sitting next to his buddy James Cameron, who, of course, they worked together on a terminator and aliens. And Cameron looks over and says, oh, what's that? So it's like, oh, it's for a picture I'm doing. He explains the plot explains the monster. And Cameron just kind of makes an offhand comment. He mentions, I've always wanted to see a creature with mandibles and that, of course, ended up in the final design.

And when I was dating Jermaine Jackson's ex-wife, Margaret Maldonado. She was working for him at the time, but for Michael viner. And one day she sneaked me in early copy of this salacious book, and no one had seen it yet, Margaret got the proofs and begged me not to show or tell anyone about it. I said, no, no, I won't. I'm not going to write about it. I just want to read it myself, okay? So I go back to the hotel or wherever I was and start reading this book and the proofs and maybe two years ago, I read a couple of the more filthy chapters on this show. The book contains a bunch of stories written by three prostitutes and one actress about this sexual encounters with a bunch of different Hollywood celebrities. There was a Robin and Liza grier, Linda Hammond, and Alexandra daddy. "This is balance of power on Bloomberg television radio. I'm David Weston. It's time we check in on the markets here and we're joined now by critic Gupta as a critic. Tell us about what the markets are doing. I guess PPI is something to do with it. Well, green on the screen and you know, it's interesting, David, a lot of people are going to peg the move just to the PPI numbers that come in. Much lighter than expected, essentially, really confirming this idea that we heard from CPI report last week that inflation is moderating faster than we expected. I mean, the markets, of course. But the market was already up about 1% even before that PBI data hit. So now you're looking at a stock market rally to the tune of 1.3% really led by those big tech names NASDAQ outperforming 2.3% but David is that PPI number that is kind of creating a little bit of reassurance into the market. And remember, we've gone into this environment that follows the midterms. You are now I believe we're still waiting on the call for the house, but it looks like gridlock at the moment, which of course we know is a positive for the market. So there's a few things that are kind of working in the bulls favor right now. Okay, so that's fascinating. What's going on with the bond market? Well, the bond market you are still seeing yields lower. I'm looking at three 81 on the ten year yield. That's really only a move about four basis points. What's interesting to me though is that the bond market is perhaps still waiting for that stall terminal rate that volatility that we saw in the last couple of weeks. It really isn't quite there yet and to see a four basis point move lower on the ten year yield off the back of some moderating PPI data tells you that perhaps bond traders are waiting then for not just the next move from the Federal Reserve, but bracing themselves for this talk of a step down. And that's going to be really crucial feeding back into the story for the stock market for our TV audience. You're looking at a chart right now in the technicals for our radio audience, stick with me here. The S&P 500 is crossed its 50 day is crossed its 100 day. I think a lot of people are saying, well, perhaps that's the bond market stalls out. The stock market has a reason to rally again. And finally, I think we also have some company news. We had some Walmart news, and I guess some Home Depot as well. Some of the major movers actually this morning, let's start with the warmer and Home Depot story. Essentially, this retail theme that we've been talking about, perhaps waiting for the consumer to really slow down, but Walmart and Home Depot both breeding their beating their sales numbers, both meeting their profit story, inventory is where they diverge. Walmart cutting their inventory arrives in half Home Depot still working on that build up. So that's really where you're seeing stock market react a little bit. Walmart shares about 5% in the market Home Depot shares on the other hand. Actually, down 8 tenths of a percent despite beating the earnings tells you inventory is all the focus there. Okay. Thank you so very much. That's pretty good. And you can catch pretty again at 1 p.m. Eastern Time, which will be anchoring Bloomberg markets. Coming up, we're going to talk about the former ECB head John Claude trichet. Who's going to take us through the state of the European economy and how ECB monetary policy should respond to

"Either around the corner or a phone call away, yeah, I seem very distant at the moment. I mean, LA is obviously I've only been here very, very, very short time, but it's very, very beautiful, it's hot, it's lovely. The people are friendly. I'm just starting, you know, I'm just starting my new chapter here. And hella expensive as well. So yeah, it looks crazy. We just have to sort of get involved. And yeah, man, I mean, it's definitely a long term situation. Yeah, you're clearly invested in yourself. Who is a action star that I'm thinking of your taekwondo background? Who is a action star that you really admire? Somebody who can use both like a Jason Statham, like, I mean, there's so many names. I was actually, I was some of my dad sort of tricked me into believing this, but I was really big into Jean-Claude Van Damme. Jean-Claude Van Damme and Bruce Lee were my two and a bit of rocky as well because rocky was a huge influence in my house. But with Jean-Claude Van Damme, my dad actually told me that it was him, 'cause I was what? Three, four years old when I first saw his movie. And my dad looked like John Claude Van Damme, you know? I'd leave you with my dad for at least like two, three years, you know? And so like most kids, you know, they want to grow up to emulate their appearance. And so I think that was really the seed. Which made me want to kind of be in movies, which is quite strange and surreal, considering now the type of acting that I love and the type of storylines that I like to go into, but it actually started from that from just wanting to be like my dad. How sweet is that? It's sweet, but it's also funny because of the fact that you were walking around for a while thinking that Jean Claude Dunne was your dad. That's great. Yeah, and this is how the child brain is incapable of processing certain things, which is like, I remember I watched a movie where he went to prison. At the end, he's gone, he's arrested. And I broke down and I cried because I was like, well, my dad's not going to make a movie again. Even though he was about to walk in the house. Together. That's crazy. It's funny. So that's great. Yeah, so he's like, it was a big influence and inspiration because of the sort of kicks and the style and I guess movies now around action have really changed. If you're asking me to do what I'd like to do now, it would be more, say, I don't know, it would be more like kind of, well, the mixture of like high level drama character and acting with the fighting. So I think the closest to that is probably like a born, you know, like a born. I think they nail those

"And we'll throw those in the show notes. We'd be remiss if we didn't talk about game four a little bit, break it down a little bit. From my perspective and I, if you live under a rock or you don't listen to our podcast or whatever, second year in a row, it was unable to watch game four live. And I knew once the schedule came out that the season would be ending in game four. It was just how it works. So I've rewatched, I watched the fourth quarter on a horrible, horrible Wi-Fi stream. Everything was cutting up and Rachel was kind enough to keep me updated. But I rewatched it later last night and a little bit more this morning. And I'm curious your thoughts on this, Rachel, because to me it was like a very, very similar game to game one where Connecticut had all the chances to win it, and they just kept shooting themselves in the foot and that's not to take away from what the aces did. I mean, great teams find ways to win. The aces took advantage of the 50 50 balls. They took advantage of their opportunities. And they really, you know, carpe diem sees the day. For me, I mean, that's what I look at. I look at Chelsea Courtney Williams, sorry getting 18 shots. That's not a recipe to win. Having more shots from those two players versus your legit MVP and your team MVP if you want to call it that illicit Thomas. So just a lot of intriguing aspects to this game, but I mean Chelsea gray. And we're quanta Williams, just really stepping up having ridiculous games. I'm curious for you as somebody who is watching and kind of for me it was easy, right? You're not going through the emotions of it. But I'm curious for you. You know, I was just, I mean, it was not the prettiest game Las Vegas had played. You know, this was not the prettiest series. Las Vegas had played. You know, you have to give credit to Connecticut and just how, you know, disruptive they can be and had the way that they make the game look at certain times. But Las Vegas found a way. And to echo your point about ricotta Williams. I mean, I've always been a huge fan of for quantum Williams. And I love, you know, what she was able to do in LA at times and just her ability to score, I mean, we know we know. Anyone who's followed the league for a few amount of years knows that that's a player who, given the opportunity, given that given the chances, given the shot, given the shots, can put up 25 plus. And that's, you know, not exactly her role this year hasn't been a role with Las Vegas, hasn't needed to be her role has been more so. You've got to be a spark off the bench. You've got to give a serviceable menace come in and give us 6 to ten, whatever that might be. But it was really cool to see her, you know, have her best game of the season. In a game where, you know, Asia Wilson was struggling, Kelsey plum, you know, she finished 5 for 12 and not a horrible night from plum, but like, you know, it wasn't like the starters were dominant. Jackie young, four or 14. So, you know, they're starting 5. There are three headed monster, if you will, that averages 90% of their points. You know, it was really, it was a grind for them to get their buckets and to get there to get their opportunities. And so it was really, and obviously, Chelsea gray, I mean, she was great, but I'm talking about Jackie young, Asia Wilson and Kelsey plum, kind of having just average below average, just offensive afternoons. So we're quantum Williams to come in and do what she did, finish 5 for 9 from the three point line. I mean, it was just really, really, it was great to see that, see her step up in that moment. Really sees this opportunity to secure this because if we're quantum Williams doesn't do what she does, I don't know that this outcome is what it is. And I agree, it was very reminiscent of game one from Connecticut's perspective and also Las Vegas. I mean, this is a team that averaged 90 points a game. Now, game one, I think it was like in the 60s, something like that. But they end up score in 78, but, you know, you hold them well below their average. You've got their three, four headed monster, you know, struggling at times to score. But again, Connecticut just only able to put 71 on the board, it just felt like a missed opportunity. It felt like there were two games in this series in this four game series that can not easily could have gone to put it this way, Rachel. You were talking about the aces, average scoring, there was only one game this series that the aces scored above 80. And I think that's mind-blowing to me. And while and look, there's two sides each coin, right? If you're viewing it from Connecticut side, you're saying, we went into this series knowing the only way we could win is if we mucked it up, and if we really threw Las Vegas off their game, really just completely just frustrated and I think if you're Connecticut, if you look back at the series, you go, we did what we needed to do to win in the sense of the style of the series that it was and how the series kind of laid out. They just didn't make shots when they needed to. They didn't convert when they needed to and they made the nicest way I can put it some boneheaded mistakes when they shouldn't have. On the aces side, you got to be ecstatic because going into the series, you know what they're going to try and do, right? There's only one recipe for success. Besides John Claude Jones just having an insane series. And it was basically that the aces are just going to ride what we've been doing. Hope, require hamby can provide a little something off the bench. And just ride the Chelsea gray wave, which has been undeniably unbeatable historic epic and legendary, this playoffs. And the aces found each game, like it very much so looked like the aces approached each game as a series in its own, whereas the sun didn't necessarily have that mentality. Like the aces went into each game saying, it doesn't matter what the series score is. It doesn't matter what's gone on at any other point. All that matters is we find a way, you know, I always say scratch bite and claw your way to victory and the aces did that. They 100% did. They did. They did it across the board, and they did it with, you know, we talked about Deb, we talked about a short bench that was kind of the, you know, the narrative all season we know they've got the firepower offensively, but you know, if someone goes down or whatever, like what could happen, and I think, you know, we talked about it on the stream that day. Shout out to everybody who joined us. You have to have so much luck as well. You know, obviously this team, I personally think. And I know you kind of agree. Has the potential for to run it back to the potential of a quote unquote. Again, potentials, the keyword dynasty, depending on the kind of moves that happen in the free agency. But you have to have luck when you're talking about these things. Everybody was in phenomenal shape this season. Everybody put in so much work in the off season to take care of their bodies to get themselves to be able to play 38, 40 minutes a game. With a short bench and a limited, you know, it was like everyone's goal was to get into the Las Vegas aces bench. And if you could do that, then you had a shot. And I wasn't sure, you know, if what they were working with could sustain an entire course of a season and it did, you know, and that was really amazing to see. It was amazing to see how consistent this team was across the board and, you know, it wasn't like it wasn't like it was a super team in terms of the starting 5, but like after that, it was like, oh, this is scary. So, you know, the fun thing about this is I'm excited for free agency not to get too far ahead of ourselves and see what this team can add. But the resilience of this team, the chemistry of this team, it didn't always have to be pretty. They found it wasn't just like, oh, we're going to outscore you. And if we can do that great, they were able to kind of grit their teeth and have that edge to them, I think, that they started to really encompass as more and more as the season went on.

"Opinion. And I think the final key for Las Vegas is being able to rebound the basketball. They're not a great rebounding team. And for a couple of reasons, but just the sheer style that they play in terms of the spacing when shots go up, like there's no one there to even secure them. So, and we know on the flip side, Connecticut is one of the best rebounding team in the league, especially when it comes down to second chance points. So the rebounding numbers. And when I looked at the matchups from this previous season, I expected to see Connecticut dominating in that area and it was shocking to me that really did it. There was actually a game, I think, aces out rebounded, Connecticut, and then a couple others might have been Connecticut, one that battle by 7 or 8, and then it was really close. So that's a really, really big area of concern. I think when it comes to Connecticut, we talked about the turnovers. Rebounding numbers for Connecticut. Again, 30 what's the exact number? Like 50% of their points comes from the paint. And like 30 30% of their points come from second chance points. They lead the league in second chance opportunities. So when shots go up, being aggressive on the glass, Brie Jones, Alyssa Thomas, John Claude Jones, just being aggressive on the offensive glass. And that's what they do. That's innately what they do. We talked about the free throw numbers. They've got to be aggressive. They've got to have their foot on the gas, initiate that contact beat. Be those bullies that we know that they are, get themselves to the free throw line. Being able to make more free throws than Las Vegas attempts. And then containing the three headed monster, which again, I'm stealing from another coach who brought that up. But you know, Vegas is going to be who they are. And so how do you disrupt them offensively? Well, you've got to throw different looks. You've got to mix it up, you know? If they're able to just play against the same thing for 40 minutes, that's not going to, that's not going to help. You got to throw them off kilter here and there. You got to throw wrinkles in the game here and there. You know, see if you can get Asia Wilson to face up in fall in love with jump shots from the perimeter. Now she shoots the ball really, really well. We've talked about it all year. I mean, this is the MVP for a reason, but when you're playing a game of percentages and a 5 game series, if she's out there shooting 15 contested 1517 footers, it's better than her plan with her back to the basket where she shoots like 70%. So I think that Connecticut has some momentum right now. I think that Connecticut is playing with house money like you said. This is a team, the more when I first saw this matchup and this was going to be the finals. It was kind of like, wow, you know, it felt like there was a clear favorite. Now that I've kind of had a day to dive into the numbers and talk to some people and really analyze

"Know we don't want to go to the game 5. We don't want to go back to Connecticut, we're not doing that. We're going to close things out. We're going to face the winner of the other series. We're going to win a second championship Candace Parker is going to get another ring. That's where their head is at right now. And I think Connecticut is in survival mode. That can be that can be an advantage that can be dangerous to be back against the wall and nothing to lose. Historically, it has not proven to be in Connecticut's favor when they get back to when they're on the road. They get knocked out. That's what happens. I like the call. I like to take I have a really difficult time with this prediction because I do think that at times Connecticut has looked like the better team. And I do think that if we can see a similar game out of heidemann and Courtney Williams, both playing really well. And then be able to see Alyssa Thomas and or John Cole Jones step up. They both played well on the boards and listen to Thomas had some good assists, but just offensively, neither one of them played very well. They were a combined 6 of 22 from the floor. I think that junk well Jones, MVP, John quell Jones, is going to show up and if anything, this might be that game that she comes out. And if we're talking about Ali quickly statistical regression, positive regression in her statistics, we also got to bring up Alyssa Thomas and John Claude Jones only bringing in 6 points apiece. I think that they could easily come in and make a big difference in this game. I think Connecticut is probably going to go ahead and take this game for and force a game 5 back in Chicago. But I do think I do have Chicago winning the series. But I've got Connecticut taking this game for. I like it. It sounds like John quill is your if you had to name an X Factor in this game, kind of a deciding. I think so. Deciding player. I think so, because.

"People normally would see. I'd never famous people. It's always people you've never heard about and just people I meet around the world that had Incredibles to be like all of us, but that never get to be on the front line of the news. And I don't even do a casting. It's just a randomness of this incredible people that I've met around the world. And then I love him so big that I have to involve sometime hundreds of people to paste that image or sometimes hundreds of people to carry that image like physically like a giant top that you have to be two, 300 people to carry through the city. What's interesting is that there's a few layers to this. There's the process which for me is the art of the process of it of studying and learning that image is the actual art. And then the more you involve those people that sometimes come because it's just fun to pay so it's cool to carry that image. Then realize the message that's behind it. Sometimes really honestly, the people realize that when they're in the process of the action, sometimes they just came because it was fun and then they were like, oh my God, I didn't know that we were raising the issue today. That's amazing. I had no idea. And then you have that image traveling to social media so people from museums to galleries who books in any way possible. And that creates another change of reaction. So really, it's a walk in that's always a lie. It's always moving and never know when a project ends. How do you approach a community or an individual and get permission from them to make art involving them? I imagine that most of these people, they may not be familiar with you and your work. So how do you actually get that trust and make it so that they understand what you're doing? I'll tell you the secret is very simple. I just say hello. I just said bonjour. And then we shake hands and then of course anyone that you meet in the streets of New York or in the street of Mauritania in the center of maurita should I say, people want to know who you are, but you do. And that's the same. So it's really already started like that. They asked me what are you doing here? And I said, I'm from France. And then after that, they said, but what are you really doing here? And I said, well, I'm an artist. What do you do? Then I show some images, and then I explain what I came here to do. And in the conversation staff, the fact that I come with an idea that might not be the final idea, it's just that when I come there, that's the idea I have. And then they get involved and they gave some input and often the idea really changed because of that. And I love that. I love the process of exchanging. And knowing that the bigger part of the unknown in the project is there. So there's always more risk of failure than success in every one of my projects. That's when I create a project. I know it's interesting when it's just more risk that it failed and it succeeds. Then I know I'm into something that no one has ever tapped into. And so I really always keep that in mind and in the way work. But another part of the process is to not have brands or sponsorship to not have logos on your work. Can you talk about that piece of your values when it comes to work? Yeah, to me, finance is a big part of it. I think it's just there's so many hidden message into everything we see every day. He didn't commercial. It's like subliminal everyone's trying to sell something or brain like this to everything. And I try to keep the art as the most purest form. The same way you go to the Louvre and you see the jacquard. And you know that that's it. He painted an image. Maybe with a lot of civilian image from the time, but there was no like brand. He's not trying to sell you anything than just really getting new attention in a painting. That's what I'm trying to do with my walk. And so for that, I make sure that the financing of it doesn't interfere with the message. So that it's not powered by any brand. It's not a project on the people of there to then try to sell you these other data. It's really just that story and that person. And that's it. So that's why I've never made collaboration with burns in any way. And so I sell financing with sales of my artwork. So I always sell a couple of articles per project, and I pay for the next one. And I've always been into that journey. I had great mentors. I crystal who also did that for years, and John Claude, and they were financing all their projects so that they could say, well, you know, that you like or you don't like the projects. We paid for it ourselves. We didn't ask the government for money. We don't have the people for money. We actually used our own money for the sales of our works. So this way they were totally free and I feel that same freedom today. I wonder is your kind of personal image and the presentation of yourself part of that? Because you have a very distinctive style, right? The hat and the glasses, people don't see your eyes. Is that part of the idea of letting it be about the work and not messages about you and brands or is that just, it's easier to have a distinctive style. No, it started because what I did in the street for all those years and still today, a lot of places not everywhere, is illegal. So you have to pay fines for it. And then I remember one day I had to do an interview and some guys from Holland were there with their cameras. And I said, look, we can't film you for one day with this on your head. And so I went to the supermarket and I just bought a hat and glasses. And I said, well, now filming like this one, I'll take them off. No one will know it's me. And it worked and I kept on doing it until today. So it gave me that freedom that when I did the project at the bottom of Mexico and U.S., in studying that giant kid overlooking the world, basically when I would cross the border, the border patrol would not recognize me. Because I would take off my head and glasses. And then as soon as I put them on, then people would recognize me. So I have a question about your project to choppy the yard. You did this project in a supermax prison in California. And this is one of the projects that you talk about a lot in your most recent TED Talk. How did this project come about? And also, how were you able to get the prisoners inside to be able to tell their own stories? And I guess how did that process get them outside of the borders of the prison, even though they couldn't physically leave? Exactly. In a maximum security prison, in the middle of the desert, I don't know one would come and see this up is because you can't enter the prison. I knew also that it's such a rough climate there that the image would not stay that long. And I needed concrete and concrete you only find it in the maximum security prison. And then I would have to find a way to capture it so that the image could travel but that story would travel also. So that's how it came about. How do we create an image that involved everybody, so the guards, some victims by some of those gangs from those prison and also some of the guards. So inmates, victims and girls into the same image. And that's like about 50 people into the image. And then we can only see it from one point. That point being from the sky. So we sent a drone and so to kind of get that perspective. To get the story to answer your question, I told them, look, we're going to create that image that is going to be visually very impacting. But your stomach needs to travel through it. As much as that story at that image travels, I need you to embed into the visual your story. And how to do that is not to an interview. It's really true you're going into one room and recording your story. And expanding your guide like me whose French who don't know how you grew up who don't know the different neighborhoods in Los Angeles and you have to explain to me that if I'm a child and you're trying to explain me what you went through because a lot of those guys actually I selected were minor or ended up in the twist track. There was a lot of things that got them to those long sentences and not necessarily were murderer and then I told them you'll tell your whole story and they did and they recorded the audios sometime for like 30, 40 minutes, which they never had a possibility like that to do before. And then we created an app, which is totally free. It's called JR modes and you just go on it and you click on any single phase and you can hear what they have to say. And that when the really long way, that really crossed every world, even inside the prison like the guards and not the inmates because they couldn't have access to fund, but the guards were widened and their families, their kids, and so I've got to hear it, and that changed a lot of things within their own space. And then also people.

"It's done for us. That would be a great name for your one man show. Theoretically. That would be a great Twitter handle theoretically done for us. Yeah, theoretically. That'd be great. Somebody just took it. Exactly. I may create that just so I could be dawn fry. Theoretically, I'm not fly on Twitter. So patty. Good afternoon. Right now. Totally. By the time 5 minutes after this is published, it'll be gone. So you guys know that guy that torques in the octagon that guy who Bruce buffer? No. I think he goes by like the Monkey King or something. Yeah, or monkey God? I think it's monkey God. Yeah, monkey God. Where's he from? That isn't even a slightly veiled question. He's from Las Vegas. He's a really good father. He's a really good fighter. Let me see if I can find it. And so he's fighting patty the baddie. Right. Right. So that should be a good fight. The monkey. Yeah. Yeah, patty and I lose 55 pounds. But this guy is allegedly straight. But I think he's married with kids. But these are some of the stuff he does in the octagon after his fights. You see him? That is awfully fancy. So he did, that's the dirty dancing lift. Is that what they're doing that? Oh gosh, that terrible. A picture of Bruce buffer doing the splits with his legs around John Claude Van Damme the other day. And I got to tell you, that was so Don, this is what he does in the actors. That's what he does in the octagon. Oh God. Love with your camera better. There we go. Thank you. I don't need to see it again. Now, what would have happened on if somebody in pride would have done this back in the day? Then it got beat to death by everybody. I'm in the locker room. So these two guys are fighting. Hold on. Hold on. See, I think you need to put him against Sean Strickland. Oh my gosh. I don't know what would have happened in pride back in the day, but if I would have happened back in the day, you have seen Bruce buffer would ask them out..

"All good. Let's see. What else? Daylight saving time to change your clocks? Showed up an hour early. So this is great. We can't change our clocks because they have they changed themselves. Yeah, exactly. I have a clock that was built in Ukraine. And it said itself to standard time last week. Apparently, as everybody knows, in the U.S., we just now set our clocks back this morning at two a.m.. I think we're one of the last countries to do that. I don't know why we still do that. All the evidence, all the research shows it's both psychologically and physiologically harmful. It doesn't save energy. It's got no real purpose. It's just one of those things it's hard to change. I was talking about this with my wife this morning. She says, well, I don't think we should change to standard time. I think we should just make daylight saving time permanent, which seems to be a popular thing. But that would require I don't know what that would require. Because that's your time zone. It's basically going to be saying, well, we don't want to be in this time zone. We want to be in a different time zone. I don't think I don't know who's in charge of time zones. But can you just say, oh, we decided we want to be in the time zone one over. I don't think you can do that. Can you make our situation with Canada and Mexico would get weird? Very confusing. Yeah, that's the thing. I think they try to make the time. They're not perfect, but they try to make them align with longitudes. There'd be this thing where the logic, and then it would go over like that and then would go over like that. There are a few places in the world like that. But I hear it's bad for you to live really close to a time. If you like basically should be one hour different, but you're like right on the border. It makes sense, right? Because there's no light. Confusing radiation. There's no yeah, one thing I was just thinking about is, I don't know if this is like a thing, but I wonder is it fun to be a bar at two a.m. on a Saturday right when this is happening? Because everyone like one more hour. It's not closing time yet, buddy. Yeah. I'd be the bars can be open later in New York anyways. I don't know if it changes anything, but because there are a lot of cities where it's two a.m., right? Is that just happened and everyone's like, never mind. In California, it was a ballot proposition. And it won. I don't know if anybody remembers this, but back when was it June? We had a vote. And we all said we want to stay on daylight. I think we all said we want to stay on daylight saving time. I don't remember now. And then the next step is the legislator has to approve it. And then I don't know, the national bureau of standards in time and the clock key master has to approve it. And it never happened. In Europe, in 2018, the EU ordered everybody to stop doing it. No more. Setting the clocks back, they actually, this happened in 2018, the European Parliament voted to end the practice after a poll. I'm reading from ABC News. A 4.8 million Europeans showed overwhelming support for scrapping daylight saving time. The time change will be abolished. Said, then president, John Claude Juncker, people do not want to keep changing their watches, but the long comes COVID was supposed to happen this year. And because I don't know how COVID is, among other things it's delayed. The time, so it's not going to happen, I guess. I don't understand why we still do this. It was to save coal back during World War I. Have we not saved enough coal yet?.

"Coffee and a fuck us all right. We'll give you guys more details on that coming up. I think food wise. We can just encourage people to stick. Stick to some of the principles that we share. We can Write it out for people to so they can follow along. And whatever whatever way they can gear zine net says maybe one gallon of water. A day i don't. I think that's kind of blot but especially when you drink when you when you get more electrolytes in you'll notice that you don't necessarily need you feel the need to hydrate with a gallon depending on your size of morris but i mean when i think about it even a lot of guys like one ninety when we could do is we could do the The two glasses of water before you eat. Yes that could add works too. I i knew it. I just need somebody to just be. It'd be nice to have that q. I keep forgetting about it but i have done at least once so far. But it'd be good to like have a reminder give it a go and see what the hell happened with. Yeah yeah gallon. I think maybe too much. I don't think i drink that. Would pee nonstop already. P quite a bit but with element. It helps 'cause i don't have to drink as much and whatever it actually uses the water. It's so interesting then when we look back at the things we used to do the haves like i really did carry a gallon jug of water around with me around like high school and when i was in college i carried a gallon jug of water with me i look back. I really did that. I remember when the last office job that i had They had a Like a filtered water system thing or whatever And i would take empty gallons in philip all my gallons at work when everyone left because i'm undulating. Shift the my gallons. That was what we had an apartment but yes. I was technically walking around with the gallon. But i had multiple gallons. Goodwater was cheap booze free. Take us on outta here injury or thing or hopefully you guys are going to join us on sober october. And like mark said more details than information as we get closer. We were just talking about drinking a gallon of water. You don't have to do that. Especially when you have element electrolytes for more information on them. "But i generally feel confident. So how do you do it though. Like how how is it. Is it like mechanical engineering to know how to write that down. Everyone's different right like marvel there are. There's just this infrastructure. That just i write what i write and they take it and they do what they do. And then they sort of give it back to you and say transcribe this Which is cool and a very helpful to know how to do You know an example in the other direction would be on wonder woman eighty four. I wrote in the very first draft of that script. The opening sequence of that movie the amazon olympics that was in the first draft in patty basically shot it verbatim from what i wrote Which i don't think is that common on some of the larger scale stuff. But i appreciated that. She trusted the material and she was into it. You know it can go all different ways that's horses and archery and swimming. That's that flow is a little bit easier on something like mortal kombat when you're just talking to people pummeling the shit out of each other it can get a little repetitive. So i try to make it poetic I have a lot of. I've a pretty strong mental to source for different ways to describe blood and Got some things like that. I just try to make it interesting. Is there one particular sequence. The you wrote that made it into a movie that you're proud of. I do love that amazon olympic sequence. Quite a bit and a of the feedback. I heard on on wonder woman. That was a sequence that i think a lot of people responded to there is a brief verbal gag in shaanxi. That i wrote that i'm incredibly proud of because it's so stupid and it's delivered by sir ben kingsley. Not a thing. I ever thought what happened in my life. But i just find did i. I'm i'm a person who's like i don't seeing my name onscreen. I've been incredibly lucky to have that experience. I have now learned over the course of a career that sometimes. That's a good thing that sometimes it's not quite what you hoped it would be right so that can go a lot of different ways. I don't derive a huge amount of satisfaction. From that i get off on is when i have a strange idea one night at my computer drinking a whiskey or about a friend and i say this silly idea and then years later some incredibly talented have to waste all of their time. Making the thing that to me is the pinch may stuff on you know on the tv. Show the tv show at streaming show. At i don't know what it is. amid a thing at amazon Ban johnson which was a six episode streaming television. Show of some kind and we made a guy make like this. Twenty foot statue of john claude. Doing the splits. And every day i would go into the stage and just watch this incredible sculptor. Make this thing. I just thought this is so fucking. I love that stuff. That's that's exciting for me so Xsara diverse watching dunkin's lead delivered jokes about the planet of the apes. This sort of on that list. I thought he was absolutely delightful chunky. Let's talk about chunky. Okay yeah I really liked it. I i will be one million percent honest with you. The only thing. I didn't like the movie was the absolutely crazy. Cgi finale everything else. In the movie. I was like this is pretty fucking great. This is a martial arts movie. It's a comedy it's a family. Drama has a kind of mystical story. It feels very indebted to some of the best asian cinema. The last hundred years seems.

"Joe nice person but you know like when you play a character you want to play something not you right so to me. It's like i'm already a nice person. I feel like i'm a nice person. The bill and see. That's what i've always wanted. I wanted to get in a movie. But i didn't want lines. I wanted to be the big guy that showed up and he had this bad ominous music. And i beat up john claude van don and then he beat me up at the end that was like my dream role. Oh wow that's a good one. Yeah van damme's gonna beat up a lot of lawrence of getting beat up in the end like i you take him down then. He works on his splits in between shares. Yes trains comes back and then and then beats you up. I beat him so bad in the first fight that i make his kid cry and then he's got train and come back and beat me that sort of stuff. Yeah lord lord lord said she had one for us to. But i was making it up in my head so i hope it makes sense because you know we're talking about how cap left early and how people have left the games early so it was like Let's theoretically there was a game. Would you rather leave early. This is already a not extra. You know all of this stuff. So so demarco's overtired overtime passed the regulations. So would you rather have left early and missed tom. Brady give the winning pass to win a super bowl or have left the game. Early and mass. Lebron james with a slam dunk to win an nba title. Wow so you're leaving both games early. One lebron tom brady. Yup who's leading an overtime game in the super bowl or the not me not to hold on a second here. I got to stand up for myself at some point if tom brady played in the super bowl. And it's an overtime. I'm sticking around and lebron james is planning an nba finals in overtime stocking touristic and theoretically and it's my would you rather siaga. I got my answer cap. You go i. I'm i'm sticking around for tom. Brady and the super bowl. Listen it's just the way. I'm built man the way i'm wired. I'm i'm a football guy. First and foremost so i'll stick around for the super bowl. I'm with you. I would stick around for the super bowl Yeah i'm sticking around for the super bowl to because there's nothing more exciting than a last second past the win in overtime right. I mean both are exciting. They are yeah. The donald oil championship and a touchdown pass. Well i think i'd rather see the touchdown pass right. Yeah it involves two people to its guy putting it on the right spot catching it. Yeah there's there's a lot more to the c. I bet in your mind's eye it was a red zone touchdown pass right. How about an eighty yard bomb. See right it was like an aaron rodgers bomb like with zero seconds less second last. Win the game yeah. Let's see that. I would have done that same thing. Tom brady. Wow not that anybody asked but four across the board up art everybody stick around coming back to your calls. Eight seven seven seven ten. Espn eight seven seven. Seven ten three seven seven six. We were asking the question if you've ever left the game early. Tell us a story about a game that you left that you really regret having left that game. Big as something crazy happened in the game after you left. Eight seven seven seven ten. Espn you'll be able to pick me out of the crowd as soon as you get to. The hollywood park casino. I'll be the guy rock. And that sunday swagger below. I will be wearing the most colorful one in my entire collection. You'll find me very easily. Demarco man. I wish you were going to be with us tomorrow. But you gotta head up to denver for the rams and the broncos final preseason tuneup and then before you know it i'm pump. Let's go football seahawk. oh yeah. I didn't The denver broncos just choose teddy bridgewater as their starting quarterback. They did as a matter of. I'm surprised i didn't think he'd be able to beat out. Drew lock but here. We are like bridge. I think that might be a good pick. And i think that team was just a quarterback away anyway. So this'll be a nice little matchup between the rams and the broncos up there you know of teddy bridgewater becomes the player that he was a couple years ago when he'd backed up drew brees and breeze missed five games for the new orleans saints and the saints went five hundred in that period of time. If teddy bridgewater can get back to being that kind of quarterback. It could change the afc west. And what i mean by that is. I don't think anybody's gonna beat kansas city. But i think everybody goes into this season thinking that the chargers are likely the second best team in the division. People were unsure about what denver would be because of the quarterback situation. And i don't think anybody's very high on the raiders. Although people think they might be better nonetheless if bridgewater becomes the player he was a couple years ago in new orleans. Could that change at least the number two spot in the afc west. Could you know when. I saw the raiders. Close the first thing i thought. Was you know good. Football team Obviously their coach can't be fired so the urgency is not going to be there but good team probably paint playing for third in their division. Because i think san diego if they get the defense up to snuff. I think herbert is good enough to outscore a lot of people. But i i still think it's kansas city's to lose. But yeah i mean maybe That's a pretty talented defense. And like we said all they need is a quarterback. That doesn't hurt them. You have a chance to be just about anybody. So i think you might be right Bridgewater beacon somehow stabilize the offense and at least keep them on the field. They have a chance for second place in the west. All right. I just wanted to tell you. I'm keeping my eye on this san francisco versus the mets game and San francisco had to nothing lead. But from the mets pita lonzo just hit a two run bomb and hit over the left field foul pole. I i wasn't sure if it was fair if it was fouled they called it fair. It's a two game in the bottom of the six. So for all the dodger fans that are keeping up with not just the dodgers and padres tonight is the dodgers go for the sweep but also keeping up with what the giants are doing giants. Right now in a thai ballgame to a piece tomorrow. Let's go to the phones. We were talking to people about leaving games early. It was a sixteen inning nearly six hour marathon last night. And you know what shame no shame. I got up and walked through the crowd. And i left in the eleventh inning. Here's matt in oceanside. What's going on. Matt talk to us. Guys hey listen up If it's a preseason baseball game or just renison baseball game i am checked out. I'm leaving like you would I totally agree with you. I stayed up last night and it. The one o'clock but i was but i have a good story for you guys Nineteen ninety seven april thirteenth. It was sunday. I went got invited to go to the great western forum to wash through young lakers and shaquille o'neal team play the utah. Jazz karl malone and not team wants to the nba finals and we left early. Because the guy that i was wit of the girl that was dating Really desperately wanted to go home and see tiger woods when the master. And you're not game. Shaquille o'neal hit a game. Winning hook shot to beat utah jazz and did not get to see it. And i'm a huge laker fan. And i was my first time ever the great western forum to watch the lakers on a sunday afternoon in la to go miss To go watch tiger woods When masterpiece which we didn't.

"She got probably upwards of like thirty movies and this includes like live action and animated but a number of those that are actually about people coming together and fighting in a tournament. One on one that is rare. That's the great white buffalo of this subject so insane. How hard is that. The bucket execute. Yeah so what's the game about well. People hate the super mario brothers movie. And it's like well. What's mario about. I don't know man this fucking guy. And he's collecting stuff at he jumps on people and it's it's weird but this is very simple okay and the giants scrolling text in the beginning. It lays it out for us at all this room bubba every fifty years generation blah blah blah. They gotta fight. They have tournament they fight. And the bad guys win they get to invade earth and enslave so the good guys have to win great easy simple streetfighter. There's a tournament. Everybody comes together they kick each other's ass and the winner is crowd. The world warrior tournament champion. It's all of this as simple. Do you exists. People understand the idea of fighting tournaments and people will winning lights. These are normal ideas. I for some reason. These movies treat these really insane concepts like a fight is when two individuals are more disagree physically. Was this desire to because you're coming off of like two decades of action films where this would be a inacceptable setup for a simple low budget action film where it's just like all this guy's going to enter a karate tournament we'll really lose and then when they get into the nineties and they have these properties want to adapt. They like totally. Forget that this is a way you can approach a low budget action movie. The is how about if we make it about a dictator streetfighter. Movie great example. It's like okay. So john claude. Van damme did blood sport. Which is why you hired him for the lead role in street fighter and somehow you did not just mimic blood sport. I don't fucking understand that. I just have to put in so no one screams in the comments. But yes jean claude. Van damme was originally supposed to be in a video game by midway which she turned down eventually was supposed to rip out bloodsport because he did not appear it. "Hey, real quick. It's interesting to me that Last year when they were riots almost every night and they had to call the National Guard and to protect government buildings and all kinds of different things. That it was largely overlooked by most of the media. I didn't It wasn't overlooked by anybody who everybody was talking about it when it was happening. Okay. All right. Okay. Like if it was over here, how do you know about it? Like Of course, it wasn't overlooked. It was downplayed Number one number two. How? How's it downplayed? The rioters were bailed out of jail by sorrows by movie stars and by Democrats. Are you going to deny that too? I don't know All I look at his foot back on in the street, buddy. Okay, Come on. Are you supposed to lock him away with The are supposed to lock away for life because they ride it. No, but you don't let him out an hour later so they can go right again. Come on, you know better through. I know there's a process. I know there's a process when it comes to bonding out of jail, and I don't know that that's selective when it comes to those who riot. Okay, So you're all up in arms about what's going on today. But you seem to have all kinds of excuses for the writers writing and Jane got bailed out 100%, Ron. They were back on the street. You're on. You're absolutely wrong. I decry the riding then and I described what happened today. Thank you, sir. Appreciate it very much. One last thing when I'm good. You gotta live below. Hey, wait thing about this blogger steak. Go, man. We need the checkers and then on the cross checks and the Georges is is Well it if they blow the face a similar to the French revolution. Come on. What happened is he actually isn't commenting on last night. It seems I don't know. Come into the riot of the capital. Okay, things that science has the topic. You talking now? Yeah, but it's a revolution. That's what they did in the French revolution. That's what I tell you the other day. My movie, The French Revolution, 1989 and Safe prosthetic movie has a lot of prophecies. This is your movie. Yes, it is one of the greatest movies the French revolution. I recommend it to the public to watch. It is very accurate. So all right, the French revolution. Mm yeah, it's a 1989 movie got most of the Austrian and French French actors grow. Obviously, that movie's gonna read. I'll get on the book, you know? Well, it's better they ranging bulls For me. It's better than Ranger Bull because they put more work. I like it a lot of things. Yeah, but the French revolution is better. You know why You know why is better Because they put more work. They put more work. Okay. All right. Well, thank you. Go ahead s sorry about that. You got me. I do. Okay. Now, I just want to get on with that other guy with all the riding and stuff. Okay, Democrats do their thing and they always get away with it. Republicans do anything and then put down for it. So today they were unfairly put down because they violently attacked cops and then stormed the capital building. That should have been no big deal. Well, No, I'm not saying it should have been any big deal. But what's that? What are you saying that you know it's wrong. What happens? Trunk? Trump shook the tree. In Washington, which is got all these Democrats to get their hands so deep in well Park. It's that it's just piss them all off. You know, they're they're looking You're looking to do something, and they did it. So you're okay with it? No, I'm not. Sounds like kind of like you're justifying it. Well, it's I hope Trump still keeps every one of them People going through court. I think we gotta clean out Washington. Well, we agree they're about to clean up Washington, But I happen to think all politicians are corrupt. Not just the left. Not just the right, but all of them. I say drain the sea Democrats. It is and look one thing that drives me nuts. I'm not on the left or the right time split right down the middle. There is no justification for any of the craft that has been going on. "The winter of nineteen ninety-two thirty eight year old. Jean claude remind hardly got out of bed while his wife was out and his children were at school. He was languishing heartsick. The end of his affair with his lover karen but his relationship problems were the least of his worries. He had spent the previous two decades lying to his friends and family about being the doctor. For years he'd lived in fear that he might one day be exposed as a fraud. He had discouraged people from asking questions about his career claiming that he preferred to keep his personal and professional lives separate but the deception was getting more and more difficult to maintain sometime that december. She mentioned a christmas party for employees and their families to laurent's asking if she planned to attend with sean claude. According to this woman florence look disturbed by the question. She murmured this time. I really should get annoyed with my husband. It's not clear whether florins confronted jong claude. About the party but either way. She was likely having doubts about his reasons for keeping her and the children away from his workplace. This wasn't her only cause for suspicion around that time jean. Claude served as a member of his children's school board shortly before christmas vacation. The board precedent. Trying to contact. Sean claude at work to discuss an issue with one of the teachers. He tried to look up. Sean claude's name in the world health organization directory but couldn't find it a few days later. He ran into florence on the street and mentioned it to her. She said she talked to jean-claude about it though it's clear if she actually confronted him even if laurent's wasn't starting to ask questions john claude knew he would soon be discovered if these close calls didn't expose him is dwindling. Bank accounts would a few days before christmas of nineteen ninety two. He faced even more questions. His former mistress quran invited him to come visit her and paris although he was probably no longer sleeping with her they had tried to maintain a friendship not long after they broke up she'd even given him nine hundred thousand francs to invest on her behalf. Secretly jean claude had simply taken her money and spend it instead. The two had a pleasant dinner together at first but at the end of the night. Karen dropped a bombshell. She wanted her money back as always john. Claude stayed calm in the moment. He promised that he'd get her money and give it to her. Shortly after the new year he told her he was attending a dinner party around that time and invited her to come along and pick up her check. Then karan agreed. She had no idea that behind his cool facade. Sean clod was panicking. Before i continue with jean claude psychology. Please note that. I am not a licensed psychiatrist or but i have done a lot of research for the show. The threat of financial ruin may be a precursor to violence particularly within families psychologists. As Boris Johnson Pursues Brexit, All Eyes Are on Northern Ireland

"Off on in the times of London do you pay that as the coalition partner the Democratic Union party of Northern Northern Ireland do you P. opens door to new brexit deal for Boris Johnson in the Financial Times they are also speculating that perhaps the the brexit border will begin at the Irish Sea not at the border between Northern Ireland the Republic of Ireland and the guardians matte repeats the very same thing saying that the do you P. has softened its position and in the telegram Boris Johnsons to hold talks with John Claude Yoker in looks of the board and that is again there may be a deal out there that gets rid of the backstop for people understand that the gunners in United Kingdom is four kingdoms and developments drove the debate this week from the far north kingdom's Scotland where the highest court in the land ruled without a fact the prorogation was illegal and the southern most. kingdom Northern Ireland is the southern working them apparently changed their negotiating position what do you make of all this well talk about the backs talk in a minute first the sec the ruling of the High Court of Scotland is an interesting thing because I think what's underlying all of this is the fundamental political question who gets to rule who's in charge who has authority in America that is the constitutional majority there say the majority of the citizens as they are organized under the constitution Lincoln said famously a constitutional majority changing free lead with changes in circumstances in time is the only true sovereign of a free people. so so here's an interesting thing about Britain see Britain doesn't have the kind of cut it in the constitution but not the kind of constitution we have they don't have a document a four thousand words agreed and ratified by convention and then by the people that is unsourced Tate. at what they have is a bunch of big things that were done mostly in the course of disputes between the crown in parliament. that set up the sort of main outlines the British politics but there's no document for a court to refer to and say this law passed by the people because the the great features of the British constitution by the way are acts of parliament not the people. there's no document like that that I can appeal to and say the parliament did wrong here. right and and so that's just the way it works in a you know Churchill says once that that's been this has the added advantage of the British constitution is age custom and flexibility yeah and the and the disadvantages flexibility and and the advantage of the American constitution is coherence and and that clarity and strictness and those of the disadvantages to. so anyway. now the issue is that program is Boris Johnson wants to do one or both of two things right away. he wants to leave brexit on October thirty one one with or without a deal. or out and he wants an election now Alexian is going to the people and it's a it's a custom into how old thing see in America are Lexus our elections are fixed in time. two years every two years for the house every every two years for one third of the Senate every four years for the president right nobody has any choice about that that's constitutional in Britain the election may come at any time. international regarded that as of wonderful advantage because when the parliament gets deadlocked or there's a mass then you can go ask them again. and so first of all Boris Johnson is hogtied right because they have prevented a no deal brexit. they they that you know the existing British law said before they did that that Britain could lead was gonna leave on October thirty one without condition and now they can't go unless the European Union says so and the second thing is they stopped they they have prevented him calling election because of a that when you call the fixed term parliaments act which is in my opinion abomination David Cameron did it at a Tory. because he needs a two thirds majority of the house to call for an election and so he stuck right they they have tied his hands in international negotiations and this ruling about the program prorogation in Scotland that overturns the whole way the British

How Spain became the new centre of Europe's migrant crisis

"Keith, Walker in, Bonn Germany you're listening to inside Europe and Spain there's. Been a recent upsurge in the number of migrants traveling to the country across the Mediterranean this increase partly due to. The KOMO weather during the summer months but also because it's been a clampdown on the, road between Libya and Italy and that sends migrants elsewhere as they seek a new. Way into Europe guy hedge, co Madrid reports on Spain's efforts to deal with the phenomenon the. Spanish government has said it will implement an emergency plan to deal with. The influx of migrants to the country migration minister Magdalena Vallario said the. Socialist administration will spend thirty million euros on the plan which includes opening a. President Trump, United States and Iran discussed on Bloomberg Daybreak

"Daybreak I'm John Tucker in New York with your global look ahead of the top stories for investors in the coming week still ahead apple and tesla lead more than one hundred forty companies reporting earnings but first let's head to our Bloomberg ninety nine one newsroom in Washington to see what items in politics and government set the top the agenda. Next week and for that we bring a Nathan Hager host of our politics, policy, power and. Law program. Aired weekdays At noon on Bloomberg radio Nathan John foreign. Policy will, top the agenda at least at the start of the week President. Trump welcomes, Italy's new prime minister Giuseppi Kante to the White House on Monday just days after that positive meeting on trade with European Commission president John Claude. Juncker we agreed, today first of all to work together towards zero tariffs zero non-tariff barriers and zero subsidies Or, non auto industrial goods thank you and Bloomberg news. Washington bureau chief Craig Gordon joins me now so Craig what are the expectations going, into this meeting with the new Italian prime minister I mean this is a lot more populous government. I would say then Europe is a whole right and the Italians of course their. Economies not exactly blooming right now so it's a tough you know could be a tough meaning, for this prime minister the meaning with Yonker was fascinating because a. Lot of tough talk on both sides and. Then we got word of a quickie sort of news conference came out to announce a deal. So right now I, think we're still trying to sort through what that deal means it seems like the Europeans agreed to buy some more soybeans and by some, more, natural gas the word in our stories, is they don't really need them anymore so, it means on natural gas from Russia so it's not totally clear what the bang for the buck is going to be on this I serve, American, companies but, Donald Trump shirt seemed happy and so happy that he was willing to, take off the table for now Leased his threat of point five percent auto tariffs from cars command from that part of the, world and also on the foreign policy front this week secretary of. State Mike Pompeo is heading back to Singapore. For the Ozzy on summit and Iran is expected to sign an agreement they're just as the. Trump administration is mounting, this new maximum pressure campaign against Iran yeah you're starting to think Pompeo should just get an apartment in Singapore Spend so much time there between the the Chem summit and and all of that but yes this is an important early needing the full Asia summit is. Not until November in that, part of the world but right now they usually have sort of pre. Meetings, with the, foreign ministers usually the economy minister Steve Mnuchin in the case of the United States would go to, these things so it will be a chance for. Pump hair to be in the room with a lot of Asian leaders who seem like they wanna cut a deal with Iran to have a more open relationship there, right at the very moment the. United States is is really trying to crack down on the Iranians obviously people remember President Trump pulled out of the Iran nuclear, deal told, the Europeans are trying to hold that together then pretty tough, without the US that's for sure and then Pompeo, himself gave a, pretty tough speech essentially seeming to try to rally dissident groups inside Aranda to overthrow the government prevail stop just. Short of saying that but the message is. Pretty clear so perhaps a little bit. Of, awkward staging here where you have the the US leader in the Iranian leader kind of in the. Same airspace but you know, for other parts of the world Iran Kip provide oil it can provide. A, lot of, things and even if the United States is not so happy with the government there doesn't mean these, Asian countries don't want to do business with them. And of course like overshadowing just about everything here in Washington is the ongoing Muller investigation now we've gotten reports in the past week that Muller's now looking into President, Trump's tweets for possible obstruction and. Michael Cohen is looking more and more like he's ready to flip where does this go from here Yeah the developments. Of, recent vintage here are quite important this meeting between some members senior members of the Trump campaign and these Russian operatives is taken on a very big role we believe in. The Muller investigation remember what happened Some folks came and said they wanted to talk to the Trump. Campaign extensively about you know Russian children being are, moving to the United States, and the and that sort of thing foster children turns out they. Were, according to the reports offering to feed them. A negative. Information about Hillary Clinton the Trump campaign people seem to listen at least seemed open to the idea and they have always said that Donald Trump himself than the candidate now the. President did not know about the meeting Michael Cohen Trump's time. Lawyer and really personal sort of was now tells a different story that Trump in fact did know about the meeting and I only. Knew about it but, approved it so, that puts that whole meeting to a very different light. If the candidate. We're open to hearing about negative information about Hillary, Clinton, from Russians who. Boy. That gives rubber mother-in-law to work with that's Bloomberg Washington bureau chief Craig Gordon, and that is what's happening here in the nation's capital.
