Finally, Great News for Mayor Giuliani and Victoria Toensing
"Jennifer, Victoria town Singh, welcome back to mark the first one on one. Oh, it's always great to be back here. Need to be with you. Why was anybody surprised at president Trump made that announcement? Before yesterday. I mean, people were asking me, is he going to is he yeah, he's going to. Of course. You guys would have surprised, right? No, no, not at all. All right, let's start with some very, very good news that we managed to preview yesterday before you're right. You got some very good. Well, you didn't receive good news indirectly you found out about some good news concerning you in America's mayor. So please share. My lawyers got a letter that the case was over. It was oh, good. So tell us what happened to you and how it all fell apart for Biden's DoJ. Yeah, let me give you a quick background. In 2019, Rudy Giuliani called me and said, I'd like you to represent the prosecutor general, which is like the equivalent of attorney general. Of Ukraine because he's coming to me for representation. I have conflict. I represent Trump, but would you please do it? Because he wants to provide evidence of Biden, family corruption in Ukraine, and also Victor shoken, who Biden got fired because he was investigating burisma and Hunter Biden. That absolutely infamous moment, that video whereby he says. I'm going to hold back this $1 billion credit loan from America unless you fire Victor shokin and then Biden says son of a gun. He fired him. So so clever. So they were coming to say Biden's corrupt. And at that time, Rudy and I didn't think Biden would run because of all of this stuff that we had. And then representation never came through because there were threats and we were going to go to Ukraine to talk with them and the U.S. ambassador. Yovanovitch said she wouldn't protect us if we came. And so forth. So the U.S. ambassador said you're on your own. Right. And there's threats against you. The same U.S. ambassador, by the way, I'm sorry. That's the fight. We're going down rabbit warrens already, but the same use ambassador who we found out illegally tasked the State Department to monitor the social media council. And including my account, John Cena. John Solomon, Donald Trump Jr.'s because I guess that's what the State Department does monitor U.S. citizens. So what did that all develop into? So I didn't think anything more of it. They representation never came through. And I continued with my life. And so you can imagine my surprise. In April of 2021, when Merrick Garland and Chris ray sent the FBI to my house, our

"20 years. Why? Why, Sean with that hair? My God. Yeah. It's so bad. It only grows in the back. And he grows it out. And fix your eyes. I mean, it's cold and eye doctor. Yeah. You have successes. You have the Saudi money now. Sunglasses. Right. We got stone cold promoting his beer. He made it all about himself. He did. I love stone cold. Fucking in the whole thing. He's like, if he liked John Cena, give me a hell yeah. Oh hell yes, don't go beer hell yeah. Steve Austin bear, he put it right in the camera. Yeah. Great my bear, by taking my bear congratulations, Cena, but take my bear. We also had Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, JBL, Trish stratus, Booker T, Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho, huh? Where's he been? Were these recorded years ago? Right. All right, well, if you're leaving in three weeks, your contract's up, we need you to record these promos for when John Cena hits 20 years. No, seriously, this was weird. It was. It was. I get Jericho, he's such a cross, you know, company guy, right? Like he'll be back in WWE. He was on stone cold podcast. We also had the big show. I mean, who are you? He looked like small white to me. I know. No more BS, Paul white. Again, a guy who like, it's not a big deal that he laughed. But the next one is interesting. And then the Daniel Bryan. Who are you? Right. Daniel Bryan. He looks a lot like Brian Daniel C does. Yeah, they have a lot of crazy. A lot of similarities there. Interesting. Yeah. Yeah, it's just, it is interesting because like, how does WWE benefit from that? So this was the real forbidden door. It was this old, don't get me started. I already tried to I'm already trying to forget about that dumpster fire of pay per view. I can see it helping both were WWE is being like, yeah, these are the guys, your best guys are our guys. And of course, AW is like, this is amazing. Moving on, we have montez Ford versus Jey Uso and backstage before the match John Cena pumped up the street profits because they were afraid of The Usos. Yeah, what is that? They're like going no the nose with them on the SmackDown. You beat them every week until the titles are on the line. And now you're afraid. So Ford beats Jay with the frog splash, which means which means he gets to choose the stipulation for the tag title match at money in the bank. You know what he should choose? He should choose a one on one match, a rematch. For the tag team title. Correct. You'll have a chance. So we're waiting. We're waiting, and he doesn't announce the stipulation. That's a heel move. Creative hasn't thought of it. They don't know yet. Correct. It'll be a tables match. Right. And by the way, we should have put that in this. We could still put that in the scorecards, but I call tables. Well, I'm going to say tables. I'm going to say tables. All right. Cross it out. All right, next up we go backstage and we got Finn Balor and Damien priest confronting the mysterios. Oh, where the hell have you been? Yeah, basically. Both of them. Balor tells Rey, you're so talented, and accomplished. Why aren't you teaching that to Dominic? Maybe he has a bad father. And Reagan gets upset, but Dominic holds him back and then Balor and priest walk away laughing. They're so evil. I know. Weren't they trying to recruit them at first? Not ray. They're trying to recruit Dominic, which makes no sense because Balor said red, you're so great. You're awesome. We've done all this, but Dominic, you suck dick. We want you. And he won't dominate. Yeah, right. So Judgment Day are now children who hate their parents. That's what they're doing. They don't like father figures. They are dead. So tag team match next week or not because Vince will change his senile mind correct. Whatever. Next up, Kevin Patrick interviews The Miz in the ring, don't even. Patrick told them is that Logan Paul is training and preparing to return to the ring. Good. He was very good. And miss says, oh yeah, we're gonna team up again at SummerSlam. That's so we already know of two celebrity matches at SummerSlam. Uh huh. At least Logan Paul and McAfee are good, though. So this means that we'll see Miz versus, of course. He's like, oh, we're going to continue our winning ways, just like when we beat the mysterios and Patrick reminds me is that he gave Logan Paul, the skull crushing finale at WrestleMania. But Miz says that was a teaching moment, and me and Logan Paul are on the same page. We're cool, and then Miz starts talking shit about A.J. Styles and Kevin Patrick mentions misses tiny balls. Miss is so such a loser now that Kevin Patrick is getting one over on him. Right. He's like, well, you know, styles did mention your tiny balls. He's like, don't. Fuck you. And he's like, well, I do think they're tiny. And you can join the tiny ball club. Remember when a Kevin Kelly and Michael Cole used to clap back at The Rock? Yeah. Yeah, neither do I. Yeah, right. But yeah, one day Kevin Patrick is going to interview him Balor. We're not going to know who's talking and going to be great. Yeah, so then salz comes out. He knocks Miz down with a single punch and then we have Miz versus styles. Oh, okay. I bet this is a long, great match. They went for a while. Styles set up for the phenomenal forearm, but just rolled out of the ring. And took a count out. Fucking walked away. Yeah, that's it. Wonderful. Backstage, John Cena meets Ezekiel. Yeah. And he's staring at him. He's like, you remind me of somebody. Someone I fucking sandbagged multiple times. He's ever WrestleMania. At SummerSlam, raw after manually. Literally multiple WrestleManias. Yes. Two in a row. So Zeke introduces himself and Cena aso is Elias here and he's like, yes, but he's showing our other brother elrod around. So that's a fucking thing now. Kevin Owens was making a joke. Now there's a third one. That's obviously going to look identical. They'll just put a wig. And I can't believe that there are triplets. Yeah, okay. Because for sure. Yeah, Joe. Really? How many fucking dog? I got $4 right here. I'll start bringing I'll pull out my wallet. I'll give you a 20. How much do you want to fucking lose? $20 for each brother. Elrod is clearly fake, but the other person. Are real. Then there's going to be a sister. It's going to be Santino marella. Yeah. It'll just be Lashley in a wig. Remember when I did this? So Zika tells Sena, I want the whole world to hear Zeke speak and Cena tells her, no, that's great, man. Just, you know, never forget who you really are..

John Cena Uses the War in Ukraine to Promote 'Peacemaker'
"John Cena, you know, he decides to use the Ukraine Russia war to promote his HBO Max shell peacemaker and he went on Twitter and he said something really stupid. As people are being killed, mothers are being separated from children, fathers are being slain in the street. People in cars are being run over by tanks, John Cena decides to tweet if I could somehow summon the powers of a real life peacemaker. Which is his part, obviously, in the show. I think this would be a great time to do so. That's his character from Suicide Squad. It's disgusting. And he made that tweet and obviously users went on Twitter to say, dude, this never inappropriate time or appropriate moment to say this, especially now. And then you go on and you hashtag your show, hashtag peacemaker. So while people are dying, you're getting brutally slaughtered, you want them to tune into peacemaker, you fucking idiot. Great time to hashtag your show, pal. How insensitive can you be?

'Transhumanism' and the Coming Cyborg Reset With James Poulos
"I just want to make sure everyone understands what transhumanism is in the sense of how it applies to them. It's this movement where these people in Silicon Valley want to try and integrate computers or technology actually into humans. You could start to see this with Neuralink with Elon Musk and many other movements and that technology is only accelerating. You saw that with Facebook, which is no longer Facebook. It's now called meta. Now, let me just start with something that I think our audience would be able to understand because there's a lot of technology behind this. I don't think even I have a good grasp on. But is it conceivable that if we do nothing? In 20 years we will be mostly cyborgs or plugged into an alternative universe and not the real world. Talk about the implications of where this technological movement is heading, which is the destruction of the human species. Yeah, that's a trajectory. You can see it in the language, the rhetoric around the great reset. You can see it in the way that, you know, social credit system has already developed in the U.S.. You know, we already have the major corporations and the government, including the part of the government where citizens can not replace these individuals by voting on whether or not they should remain in office. A tremendous unity of the institutions under federal purview, creating a social system on the Internet wherein if you say the right things and do the right things, you know, you won't get a check from the government, but you will get social credit points, basically. And it's still informal, you know, there are these things don't have a name. You can't sort of flex on people by showing that you have a higher social credit score than them. But already, if you have kids and they're on TikTok or if you just really hungry for the memes, you can just go on there and see that, you know, the zoomers who understand what's going on are already making sort of meme videos mocking folks like John Cena for, you know, for saying that Taiwan is a part of China, making fun of him for having an infinite social credit score. They understand where things are going. They understand that, you know, colleges, education system, Hollywood, banking system, every component of these pillars of civil society are all sort of circling the wagons consolidating authority and try to usher people into what I'm calling a cyborg Vivarium. You know, sort of it's like a domed enclosure, really, where people who have merged with their technology are cultivated and reordered on digital

John Cena and Lil Rel Howery Buddy Up In ‘Vacation Friends’
"Premiering this weekend on who lose seems to have been the result of agents and producers thinking that it would be great to have the likable John Cena and Little Real Howry team up. Um for buddy of a buddy comedy. It's a wild idea, but it just might work. But doesn't work is what I'm saying. Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, They forgot the comedy part anyway, and vacation friends Marcus and Emily. That would be Howry and Yerevan Orgy are a couple on vacation at the fancy Mexican resort hotel. He wants to propose to her there, even though her father and brother hate him. Emily's dad is a wealthy, dignified guy who thinks of Marcus is a crude construction worker unfit to be his son in law. Even if Marcus owns his own incredibly successful construction company, Emily's brother, just he's just a jerk. Any Who the hotel screws up the reservation in Mexico. So Marcus and Emily are screwed until another couple who have the biggest suite in the place offered to share. Now Ron, who was a swaggering, muscular forest ranger, played by Sienna, of course, and his did see girlfriend Kyla, played by MEREDITH Hagner are determined to help Marcus and Emily loosen up and have a good time like it or not, By the time vacation friends shifts focus from Mexico to a wedding party in Atlanta. You're going to wish you were on vacation Anywhere else, Man. I can't believe it. Little real. I love little Road Rail is talented John Cena look like it's strained. It's unfunny. It's painful to Washington. Oh, my God. Wait. I like other things that Sina and how we have done. For instance, the suicide squad seen this great bad trip with Eric Andre Little rails fantastic in that this, alas, is a short to watch again. It's a comedy with To know laughs on Lulu. Everything and john came on the podcast handful years ago and we really hit it off. It was a great episode. And now i have to say this second. Time was so much fun as well. Actually i don't know when that's coming out but in the not too distant future i imagine and you can see john million other things as well. So here's the podcast. Number eleven thirty with mr john sinoe role the thing Pro oh my god look at you. You're in a suit. You look amazing. I just. I just came from working out because i thought what better thing to do right before a conversation with sina than have a workout. You feel amazing. I'd rather beijing look amazing. No i don't know you look amazing though. I think you're blind you've lost. You did kimmel. Yeah how was it. Are their audiences. The audience before fully vaccinated every masks. it's good because it's there's a crowd to get the feel of it but it's it's far from what used to be but that's okay all right man. I have not been in front of a crowd of people. I performed like the week before lockdown and i came ho and it was like. Oh i guess. We're not leaving for a while so i have not actually performed in front of an a large number of people in a year and a half dude. I i hear you kind of the same way and then going going back to the banks on it was bananas. Oh yeah how was it was it. I mean it must feel like the most amazing thing ever it is but i gotta tell you it was like a bit of an adjustment like it's a you know you go from from distance and all the things you're told to do to then like cold. Turkey sold out house in fort worth and then you know people in dallas is. It's interesting that it was interesting..

"I think that was one of the things that things that was easy for people to point to because they were always a little risque. Did you think that you guys are pushing the envelope. Portas do you think it was Within within norms. I think we always pushed the envelope. But i don't think that we were any more risque than some of the other network programming. That was on the same time. I just really don't. I thought that it was it was it was walking the line but i don't think across it the next week we've got eddie guerrero. John cena defeating brock listener and big show when eddie pinned brock and now or set for no way out no four and this is where we would see kurt angled big show and john cena in a triple threat match to become the number one contender for wrestlemania twenty And of course. We're going to have eddie guerrero and kurt angle Square off at wrestlemania twenty any consideration at that point and having john cena win and become the number one contender or was the thinking. He hasn't won a secondary title. Yeah he can't jump straight to the world title. Thinking simply was that he wasn't ready for it at that time convinced it feel that cena was the type of character that had to earn his stripes along the way and wanted him to either be the united states champion or intercontinental champion before he's competing for the wwf champion and your opinion is. Does he think that way based on the size of the competitor. Or what is it about him. The thanks that makes him say you have to earn it. The the overall just feeling of the guy. If it's i think that with john the way that he started out in then the rap gimmick and everything else. I just think that all there's different strokes for different folks and for sina that's how he felt about johnson. He felt that the people want to earn it and wanted him to earn it. There's some guys that you can just put out there and shock by getting The championship gender mahal's gr- example of that that you know. Hey let shock and we did it with The great khali as well and some others but for sina he saw cena's long-term investment in wanted him darnest stripes february nineteenth. We got kurt. Angle and john cena defeating the basham brothers We'll talk about him again and got a good basham brothers stories. You could share with us. Well doug basham is danny davis's brother-in-law one time. I think he was married to or engaged. Gail kim and danny basham was damaging motherfucker. Vw his greatest rapper of all time. And that was actually his gimmick. Damager was danny basham. The cornet was was in love with felt that he should have had the wrapping gimmick in the march fourth figure. Four weekly reported that john cena did an interview on between the ropes. Radio an alvarez. What right that. Johnson indicated that he had torn as acl Taking a bomb at the royal rumble but was happy because it could have actually been a lot worse And he says that he was going to be limited. As to what he can do in the ring obviously. That's not good for his wrestlemainia payday. He says he was contemplating bringing back the iron claw as a finisher because he thought it was a throwback move that would go with his throwback jersey. What did you think about this. Idea of a throwback finisher was he. Just trolling these guys or was there any sort of real talk that john cena may bring back the iron claw no. I think he was. Just trolling these guys. Because especially knowing how. Vince feels about the claw is a finished. Being one of the hokey est moves in the wrestling business. He was not a fan and this sounds like something that john major has been having fun with and he also says the interview that the real life john cena or the same stuff that john cena on tv war now these days. He dresses a little different but not once. Was that fairly accurate that mackinaw three or four. The saying that you saw on. Tv is the real. I've seen one hundred percent accurate He even had a lot of his merchandise The number fifty four on his jerseys and his march was his real football number number fifty. Four right What do you remember about the scare for the torn acl and how that would affect him at wrestlemania in nineteen because of course he's at wrestlemania nineteen And he did a really hokey rap situation where they did like an open challenge to rappers anywhere visits the one in seattle and no one takes him up on it so he comes out and his wrestlemania jumpsuit and then has Jay z's head on an austin powers body cardboard cutout in then fabulous his head on a mini me austin powers cardboard cut out and he does his raps and kick off of there and then he's out of there it's kind of an underwhelming wrestlemania debut for one of the greatest superstars of all time as well. That wasn't the the original idea was actually have a battle rap and i believe Oh my god. He's on the show. Bald guy rapper. Ice cube not ice cube but it will not iced tea bowl. Look it up. This is dr discount. Drive me nuts hello by. Ll cool j. Was supposed to be the one that we did the battle rap with and it was supposed to be. Ll cool j. And i believe snoop and they were going to come out and do this and it all fell apart as we got closer to it. Why did you guess things. They would really do that. Elo cool j wanted to work. I mean he wanted to have a match and he and jane and talk back and forth and it was then just conflict. Schedules could make it happen. Yeah what happened is he didn't want to get out there and ruined any sort of wrap credibility he had by letting a professional wrestler raffin. Well we wouldn't let that happen sure. Okay so now we're ready for wrestlemania. Twenty this is world war or get into I just wanted to kind of compare and contrast wrestlemainia nineteen and wrestlemania twenty. I guess by follow up to nineteen as if you know. The rap isn't going to happen. Why not find something else for them to do if you really thought he had a shot to be something will because we kept trying all the way to the very last minute to get somebody there and do it as a surprise and everybody's just kept falling through we had snoop dogg on the hook and then he fell through and and it just kept hoping that somebody was gonna show up and do it or here. We are wrestlemania twenty. This went down and and square garden at took place on march fourteenth. Two thousand four and of course as we remember this is when john cena finally earns gold eight defeats the big show to capture the united states championship now year prior at wrestlemania nineteen..

"That included crispin wa and eddie guerrero and the undertaker What a year. I'm all right. i'll probably have a great year. You know we're talking about. We're talking about sixteen years later so they had a great year. Let's keep going here on july third. Billy gunn would beat john cena. This was for the united states. Title tournament The undertaker offered the assist here and then on july twenty seventh and three vengeance. We would see the undertaker defeat. John cena with the last ride power bomb At this point was there ever any consideration to having johnson go over to of solidify him as a main event player or was that just too soon. I think it was too soon and leading up to some of those been yet so that we did with seen a pissing on undertaker's bike in the graveyard. Here here's a sidebar story for you. We do the vignettes with sina in the graveyard. And i get a call the day after that we shot the venue. Sheet the vignette. You know one o'clock in the morning and so on so forth. And i get a call the next day. That the funeral or the gravesite. The cemetery that we used was beside themselves that the guy let us use that cemetery. Because and you'll never use my cemetery again and you disrespected it and so on and so forth after we hang up with him. Somebody walks into with the newspaper and this cemetery that we had used going all the way back to nineteen ninety was stacking bodies which is highly illegal and the fact that they were so damn accommodating digging holes for us and moving things around for us and all this other crap these guys have been stacking bodies per hundred over one hundred years and so you would go and after so many years they would just take the headstone down resell the plot and then dig the holes deeper and stack bodies on top of each other. They're in stanford connecticut so we that was our last Cemetery shoot in. Sanford hard to find a good funeral director. These days a shame. Robert is not with us anymore. This is true. But what pallbearer say about stacking bodies like that. Oh yes it's the bottom line yes. August twenty eight thousand. Three smackdown in el paso would show eddie. Guerrero defeat john cena by the hugh to retain the us title At this point eddie. Guerrero is over like rover in an paso. He's the big deal any memories of this match in particular. Oh holy shit this is. This is one When eddie was us champion than again when any was the wwf. Champion where eddie's return to el paso we turned away thousands and thousands of people in our member driving around for this particular one in a convertible low rider outside the arena. So that everybody that couldn't get in. Could at least get to see. Eddie guerrero. And it was just magical. Because that was eddie's hometown in the guerrero family and paso and in warez mexico they walked on water so this was an incredible knife. Eddie guerrero and it was incredible night for seem to have that much. He going into that match and a big last on september eleventh. Two thousand and three we would see on smackdown. Eddie guerrero beat john. Cena in the latino streetfight travaux would interfere September twenty fifth. We would see john cena attack. Kurt angle it would then bolt in a getaway car and kurt angle would come after him. This would culminate on october second when we would see john cena and brock listener team against kurt angle and the undertaker but sina would knock angle out with a chain and the only way to settle. That is one week later on october. Ninth two thousand. Three kurt angle and john. Cena battle rap What did you think of kurt. Angle's battle rap with john cena. I okay. Here's what i found funny about. It was that the battle raps were written by the whitest white boys you could ever imagine..

"Just i just spit them. Who wrote that. That's good shit. I spit him. Yes whatever the pock face. I i don't know the funky says he did tell him that would just come up with shit off top of his head in so we did the vanilla shit and then it kind of grew from there but john did his own wraps but it was that moment in the hallway. That vince heard him and went. Holy shit. this guy was talented and god. Paul heyman hated heyman hated. Everybody did they. Thought you're gonna kill 'em with rapper. Gimmick there's no white rappers so he'll he'll it'll be great. Just let him bust on everybody though. That's how wrapped gimmick was born. Jr has said that he didn't really understand this. Gimmick and even vince mcmahon himself a white kid out of westbury into hip-hop. That's a little different but as friends and family said that's really him and once this happens he's kind of transformed his look instead of this white meat. Baby face where the local team colors Now he's a white kid acting like hip hop guy so he's got flat. Bill hats that are backwards in a chain around the stack and Is wearing the jean. Shorts has got the old school reebok pumps that he would make a spectacle of pumping out during the match. And at the time. This was a really big deal. He was wearing the mitchell and ness throwback jerseys and that became a big part of his character What do you remember about his idea. Or someone's idea of wearing the throwback jerseys that was all john's idea to get you know to get he he would go in and whoever the local market that we were any would pick their biggest rival and have jerseys to come out. Antagonize the crowd so that that was that was all john and it was john who wrote wrote his own stuff and he would work with writer sometimes to get around different things and make sure they were palatable for television but the the look the feel all that stuff that was seen talking about the halloween episode again somewhere. I read that you guys presented him with two options. You can either come as joe. You can either cameras eminem or vanilla ice and picked. But now i do you remember there. Being a conversation that he would have tried to portray like eminem like an eight mile time character instead. No i think because it was no idea. I always remember ceiling. rapper. I was gonna nail high. He's quite frankly so. I love that the white know. But i'm indigo. You said no. He didn't write them down. he would just spit them. I don't know why. But bruce prichard saying he would just spit them as outstanding tie or she has you. That's not something people do anymore. Gray okay let's move along one rap song. I love you for that low yati. I even noticed. They don't know what's going on. Hey i saw your. I'm sorry folks sidebar. Here i saw lil yadi on the jimmy fallon show the other day wrap all of the simpson characters and i was so excited because i go. I know him. I know that one. I know that one that one has cover has college. Buddies would say that john cena was a freestyle and even back in college And he would do battle raps with guys and even Like perform his raps and college bars. And i guess that kind of makes sense considering. You know his responded gimmick that he would do in promos from vw does not. Yeah it was simply. He had such confidence when he was wrapping. It was almost like he would kind of throw shoulders back and be comfortable and had an extra swagger that when he was wrapping man he he was in his own element. Credit karma has always been there to help you make better financial decisions and now they wanna help you. Even more credit karma money spent account. You.

"So vince you know at this point routinely calling audibles he still does yeah Let's talk about this match on august eighth because here we see john cena beat kurt angle and a happens dehu hugh Saying about to win by count out one been warrenton and puts them in the crawlspace and then ramos cheerio. Junior makes the safe to a huge pop until eddie cuts him off And now eighty is the end to clear the ring and the crowd is going markers for all of this. This is some of the best stuff on smackdown and seeing this right in the middle of it. What are you remember about this. I just remember that it was time again. Keep saying we had no plans for john at this point but it was getting him in the mix of everything that was happening and rubbing up against them. Robin ben will help against him. Anybody that would give him credibility and be able to hi- his deficiencies because he wasn't that ring general in the ring and he wasn't that guy that could go out there and carry a match and lead a match. Buddy sure as hell could follow him by surrounding him with the very best that we had. That was one way to spotlight him on the august. Twenty second edition of smackdown cena with tag with keishi against devan and deacon batista They had teased. They're breaking up before not stunned yvonne. But they're back here working a really long match And then we're key. She would get the vertical splash for the peon. Alvarez would write. This was mon- numbing and cena is now officially lost in the shuffle bruce. It seems like seeing this kind of floundering here. He's gone from working in the main event the now tagging with kishi against devan and deacon batista which No disrespect anyone there. But at that point was position to be mid card What's the feelings on. Why wasn't working with him at this point. And can you comment on. This was like a fine time to bring it up. Scene has often said that he was very close to being fired early in his career. That people had lost confidence and didn't think he was gonna make it What say you. I think if you wanna put blame on anybody put blame on me Put put mommy blame on the creative because we didn't have a formal plan. We didn't have a long term plan and we were so desperate to get new out there that we put him out there and i think that that without him having a very strong distinctive personality for people sink their teeth into he was the guy that wore the different colored trunks and boots every night for the town that he was in and he was strongly had ruthless aggression beyond that. Who the hell was john. Cena right and and that's a fall that that comes squarely down on us and that comes squirrelly down right on top of my head being desperate to get new talent out there without having a real plan without having something more for them the next week on. August twenty ninth reverend. Yvonne pinned john cena alvarez wrote. Oh my god oil. John cena greece over. Who in the hell book that. Batista hit the ring afterwards and squash yvonne making the guy that be john. Cena was made to look like a total loser. Remember two weeks ago when this was the greatest show in the whole wide world Couple of days after that he loses to nova for the oh. Vw world title. And the next week he's on velocity and he beats chabot guerrero junior on the september. Twenty third edition of the figure for weekly alvarez road. Johnson of the feeling on. John is that he's lacking in certain areas. Which is why it's push on. Tv has been scaled down. This is starting to sound like a broken record. But he's so much more effective as a heel character than as the goofy young up and coming rookie baby face and believe me. I'm not the only person who feels that way. Especially after a segment aired on confidential last week and people actually got to see some of his promos in ohio valley whether the people in charge of writing are cognizant of this or not is another matter entirely Hindsight being twenty twenty. Should you have debuted cena as a. He'll know because vince hated him as a heel. And vince hated the prototype character. So we wanted to get as far away. From that is we could get him debuted So again as just said manager that falls strictly on on creative in. Vince did not care for him. As a heel bobby was hokey and didn't come across well so we had to figure out a way to get him on and maybe use them as a baby face and it was just floundering at this point. September twelfth would say saint go ahead and tag with edge against eddie and chabot. Eddie would pen. Seen after the frog splash and a week later brock listener would pin cena in a non title match Of the match brought over as what ryan brock listener killed john cena in a non title match. Brock looked far greater than usual. Having to carry match. Especially with someone is green. The scene It didn't help that nobody gave a rat's ass about seeing are thought. He had a chance. The crowd quickly got restless. Rockwall the bear hug forever. Paul under the gaza being scared. The taker was gonna show up. Toll brock get his ass in gear and finish the match cena trotter crucifix but brock turns it into an f. Five for the pan. Total burial cena crowd at least pa for the big finish but this was bad tv. This is brock encinas first televised mass against each other. Do you remember this mansion particular. Oh god yes. It was horrible. And the you know the fact that Cena brock trying to lead sina through a match. You know they were both greener and goose shit but they had worked together in oh vw so the the feeling was okay. They'd worked together and they had some fairly decent matches and a vw. Maybe they can have a good match here. Not the case bad booking september twenty fifth for lovie w kenny bolan defeated john. Cena best friend motherfucker and a loser leaves. Oh vw match. Is this the best match that john would work in two thousand and two with kenny. Volun- was john. Spurs shoot and kindle and kenny ball and actually wanting to shoot fai johnson. Yeah yeah sure. I'm positive that yes. definitely september. twenty eight on velocity. We would see john. Cena finally got his revenge and beat reverend. Yvonne happened on velocity A week after that cena would be albert on velocity And a few days after that we would see kurt. angle. And chris benoit's defeat billy kidman and john cena and the tag title tournament. The following. week Sina is going to face off with kidman and we start to see what it looks like a little bit of a. He'll turn tease with john. Cena by mid october. Is everybody kind of saying. Hey maybe we need to try this. Try something different on smackdown on october. Twenty fourth billy kidman defeated john cena but then seeing brutally attacked kidman after the match. So here's the he'll turn we were looking for and then and rebellion..

"How did you hear about us box. Please write the word wrestle. So they know that we sent you. That's rock dot com and a checkout. You'll see that. How did you hear about us. Box at least right in the word wrestle and let them know bruce prichard. Yeah so by the july eleventh smackdown. Cena is already working. The main event i here he teased with the undertaker. Take kurt angle and chris jericho before the match cinema with undertaker in the parking garage and says that he's thrilled teaming with him. Lighter undertaker says great but he doesn't give a damn about cena or the match in the match cena pens jerko with a roll up after undertaker hit jericho in the face while he attempted a lion. Salt on cena We've talked about this a few minutes ago but it's obvious that the debris is quickly pushing santa to main event status right away. Do you know if any like veterans had a problem with this. It feels like you lot of the guys are probably on the sidelines like shit. I've been waiting my shot forever and now this kid's coming in get pushed to the moon right away. There was probably some of that resentment. I didn't hear it Because you know most of the time those guys aren't gonna come and tell you that less it's top guy but for the most part it was. Let's try this and like. I said there weren't any steadfast plans long-term shit and the fact that undertaker was involved in it and the fact. That scene done favors for both angle. Jericho's like hey what if he slipped over and he slipped over with the help of the undertaker. I think anybody could by that but it was of. You got lightning bottle. Keep going with it Next up you know we want to talk about The kind of positioning of the baby face versus the he'll because inova w he's a he'll but on wwe he's a baby face. Why is this happening. Why is there not smart continuity here than anybody care. No one cared. Vince felt that. Obi w was a regional television. Show that only people in louisville kentucky you know a few people watched it and he was more worried about the worldwide audience. At the vengeance pay per view. We would see john cena. Make us pay per view debut. Any pens chris jericho in six minutes and twenty one seconds. Did you discussion with jericho about how he feels about. Putting saner over so quickly. I mean it's important to mention here that a few months prior to this he was headlining wrestlemainia against triple h and he was the undisputed champion less than a year prior he had beat both rock and undertaker in the same night and now he's losing to gama pay per view debut in under six and a half minutes. Was there any heat from jericho. Jericho have any pushback about his positioning here. No not that. I can remember because again during the you. Look at guys like chris. Jericho and chris ben law and kurt angle. They were at a point in their career that they took pride in making guys and they took pride and being able to have you know. Take that guy that nobody can have a match with and have the best match on the card. You're saying that's about best match won the best match on the card but it was these guys that took pride in doing that so i don't remember any back off from jericho July twenty ninth in the last twenty nine addition of figure. Four weekly alvarez road johnson. Ob christian saint a finally got no music. No heat thanks. I'm sure to the burial of saint on smackdown this past thursday. Admittedly he looked really green and spots most notably whenever he threw a punch still. It's not like he's an embarrassment and they need new faces so they've got to push him tons of near falls near the finish but the crowd never really bought at saint was going to beat him. Cena kicked out of much. Everything jerko finally hit the lion salt but refused to make the cover instead. He went for the line tamer and seen a small package. Tim for the clean. Pin smackdown was a step backwards for sure but they did the right thing here as long as they follow up on it will immediately give jericho back his win on smackdown. Cena my end up okay. Two and a quarter stars. I think a wound up. Okay you think so This is some cr- pretty creative booking though where you've got dominate another guy. And then he small packages in I say it's creative. I mean it's it's classic wrestling around this time to a segment on smackdown where jericho would just saying. Right in the balls and the refereeing the bill What did you think of of the way johnson. It was booked early here with jericho. I think that the the i was simply to put him with an experienced guy that can help get them over in the ring and not be embarrassed in the ring but the reality reality is is that we really didn't have specific long-term plans at this. We wanted to get him on tv. And hopefully get vince or somebody to commit to say okay. I'll like him. Let's let's do something with him and during this time you know there was. There was just a lot of upheaval and getting him out. There was the most important thing. Knew something new. I ask about this in particular because alvarez wrote that triple h lobbied for senate opin jerko cleanly but he was overruled and they did this deke. Finish instead you remember Jerk have problem doing another job for cena or somebody else overruling this at this point you know whenever you read this kind of stuff and i hear this kind of thing. It's usually events or the agents of sit there and think about why why we beat jericho or i am just beat him. Come up with something else. Rather than someone petitioning or mega case. But it's most of the times nine times out of ten that's events wanting to protect somebody by not having them at this point people starting to wonder. Did we call him up for lovie. W too soon. I think there was. I think there was some people questioning that. Yeah definitely and who. God i think there were. There were talented. We're doing it. There were those of us on the creative team wondering if we pulled that trigger a little bit too soon. I don't know that. I don't know that stephanie was on board. I don't know that. Vince was one hundred percent on board at this point. I know that heyman and i were big proponents of john. Cena only from the standpoint of we liked him personally and we wanted new so that that was the main reasoning. We we were just pushing for new. We wanted to shake things up a little bit on the july. Twenty fifth smackdown cena pinned test and alvarez would write. Cena actually looked better here than he didn't last two matches with jericho. He hit the proto plex at one point but test kicked out later. Cena kicked out of the pump handle slam which was met with around of indifference. Test for power bomb but a roll through the pin the crowd pop big protests immediately weighed in with the kick of death to make sure the finish didn't get over note to wwe you are killing cena This does seem like this point. Test is obviously not positioned as top guy..

"That during the summer that they ran six flags every week. June of oh two was all about john cena in the wwe. This is when he starts to really hit his stride. York's a house show with a crash holly on the seventh on the eighth. He is taken ill from albert on velocity on the ninth. He's working a house. Show again with crash holly And he would also do heat that day with shelton benjamin in a dark match He would do that again. On the sixteenth with scott vic this time getting the win on the twenty second he would work against tommy dreamer and take the loss but then defeat shelton benjamin on velocity in a dark match And then returned the favor on heat or shelton. Benjamin would go over in a dark match for heat so this is a a lot of matches here. Hurry on the main roster is this kind of the final polishing peace and what is happening behind the scenes to get. John saint already. Obviously we know we're giving him some ring time. He's walking in front of the lights in front of the cameras in front of the big crowd in the big ring but what behind the scenes is happening to get johnson already for his debut. Well it's time to fish cut bait so it was. This was during the time for both john. Cena end for shelton benjamin to this time to see get them out on the road let different agents have the opportunity to work with them. Let them work with some different talent. Let all the other talent get to see them. Get their input. And it was just that fisher cut bait time. Get them out on the road and let's see how they do. You can work one way television. And then you're going to work a different way and how shows this was an opportunity. Get them on house shows and get in front of a pain audience. See how the audience responds the agents and talent. Respond them as well. Then you make your decisions well and it finally happens happens on june twenty seventh two thousand and two which is why were covered him today. the fifteen year anniversary of johnson is debut will be this coming tuesday the twenty seventh. He makes his debut here against kurt angle. And this all comes after. Vince mcmahon has started to talk about ruthless aggression. And that's actually what he described that it took to get rid of. Wcw was ruthless aggression. And that's kind of a. Vince mcmahon as before we talk about the debut wendy. Your member ruthless aggression becoming such a big deal within the company. Was anybody for that anyway. I think it was hokey wide advance. Love it so much because it was his idea. You got a crash test. Say and he was. You know benson do these work. Shoot type things. Where in reality vince. Bell chad ruthless aggression. If you wanted to make it and you had to not care about your fellow man and you had to step up and grab that brass ring in ruthless fashion so viscous that promo to be able to inspire and get the the talent off their ass if he will so that was the whole idea behind it to see who was gonna step up and anybody. That stepped up. Hopefully we'll get that opportunity and we were making some changes at this point in time and looking for people to get out of their shell. This was at the same time we were trying to make the move with with bradshaw. As a matter of fact get john to step up in that singles capacity and do something so of course angles in the ring opens or issues an open challenge to anyone on the roster and saying comes out and angle asked him. What's the one quality you possess. That makes you think you can walk out here. Come in the ring in face. The very best and cena says ruthless aggression and then slaps kurt angle and they have a match. And kurtz kinda give him a lot here the clothesline. The power slam spun buster. It's ally against angle on your first night in when angle is obviously one of the more decorated champions. At that point. I thought it was a pretty hill of a debut for johnson. I wasn't not. I thought it was an excellent debut. And that's part of the. I don't know if john could have debuted with someone else and made quite the impact a lot of that. I give credit to kurt angle. Who was extremely unselfish and new going out there that his job was to get this guy over and i thought the kurt did a great job. Doing it and john stepped up to the plate. Later in that episode of smackdown cena shown backstage talking to key. Sheron simmons and billy kidman. And they're all congratulating him on the match with angle in ricky. She says he's going to be a big superstar and then the undertaker who's the champ at the time came up sina and said what's your name head and saying a response with john. Cena undertaker repeats. His name takes his glasses off and shake his hand and says a nice job and walks away Senator stands there smiling and looking at his hand. But it's a big deal that he was acknowledged by the undertaker. Pretty big deal for this to be done here. And i find it kind of interesting because the undertaker believe at this point was he'll whose idea was this to happen and who i guess decides to sprinkle some undertaker dust on cena right away. I believe it was paul heyman's idea for undertaker to come in and shake his hand and and endorse john cena because it was it was unique and take her was a he'll and taker was the man so if he got the endorsement of the big dog in the yard then the audience might think. Oh hey this guy may be something special. And i thought it was beautifully done and it did help did help. Sprinkle undertaker dust on sina. Get moving in the right direction. ron elving s. Put the second one over really really huge. The segment will angle saying that. It was great and that he thought flare or the angled did his best to make a superstar in one night like flare dead in the eighties and he gave one hell of a performance that night. How much of john cena success should be credited to kurt angle not goblin him up and making it look stupid in that debut because he certainly could have and i know that's not necessarily incurred angles character but in a generation prior to this it would across their mind just goslin would it not. I think that the opportunities there and trust me of kurt angle wanted to gaza. He would. But i think the kurt being the professional that he is the true pro went out and did his job and made a new star in john. Cena the do an angle. Where jerko is talking smack about the senate addresses and his haircut and he says something like what type of ruthless aggression do you have junior and senior slapped him down and this starts their program Before we move on to talk about the single should mention that at this era sina is wearing bike shorts and boots to kinda match the local sports teams. So they're pittsburgh he'd be wearing black with yellow tram if they were in green bay. Be wearing yellow with green trim Whose idea was this. How.

"Because i'm eating cheeseburgers. Would that be would that. Be like under -mergency protection order bro. Let's move on august fifteen thousand wines. Because you know you got any bullets in that gun. Calm down no-balls pritchard. Well you know what i i. I don't think that i would even know how to be able to go out and serve an emergency protection order myself but or fire or anything like that. Bro august fifteenth. Two thousand one senior. Enrico defeat the cycles of sin in a tournament final in the vw southern tag team title match And then october twenty seventh two thousand one with mark henry and randy orton defeat. Rico and the prototype in a non title match so there you go all the way back in october of one rained. Yordan john cena or working together a couple nights later on the twenty ninth they would lose tag team. Titles on a wwf. Show in a dark match to the minnesota stretching crew brock listener and shelton. Benjamin order phenomenal name. that is It's just hard to imagine really think about that october. Twenty nine two thousand one. You've got rico. And john cena working tag match with brock listener and sheldon benjamin this roster ridiculously loaded as a not do. It was one of the best rosters ever. W when you think about it and the funny thing there is was rica was the guy ray thought was going to be the star and rico and shelton boot good god what a crew we had there you know not discounting brock leser at all because i think that the very first time that anybody saw brock listener walk backstage back in minneapolis. Summer slam jesse. Ventura they went. Oh my god that son of a bitch is going to be something. Yeah it was great roster man please and you talk about guys that you talked earlier about kurt angle with matt and kurt angle. Being an absolute natural when he got in the ring the the only other guy rock was a natural. But then the only other guy that i remember just the first time seen him in the ring and first time seen him perform and train that i thought oh my god. There's you know we call them for a long time. The future of the company that was new york. We weren't wrong. I know what it was. He was nineteen years old and his dad wanted him. And you know On the train we wanted him to finish college and he finished up his stuff but he John was great. It was great then february sixteenth. Two thousand two on lovie w tv we would see david. Flair defeat the prototype. What memories of david flair in. Oh vw it feels like he had high hopes in wcw. Obviously they rushed him too soon. And then they put him over with the wwf. He spent some time in ohio valley. us wwe fans. We remember the angle with the undertaker attacking him to build up the wrestlemainia match with undertaker ric flair. Why didn't we see more of david. Flair biondo vw. I don't think that david was as interested in the wrestling business. I think everybody else was interested in him being in the wrestling business. Just wanna natural like rick or charlotte. And i think that he he didn't like it. And this is me just subjugating here because i i never spent a lot of time with david and i wasn't around him a whole lot but he just didn't have the charisma and same same skills as as his sister and his father. How fun is this. Note april fifth. Two thousand two for lovie w spring breakout rick and david flair. Defeat the prototype and sean o'hare I don't know why. But i on this phone because all this time later i guess fifteen sixteen years later cena winds up tying rick flair sixteen world title rains in their first match april fifth two thousand and two with david flair. And sean o'hare. It's crazy on. Oh yeah and when you look at and again look at that and look at the you know the timing of it all if you were to look at those guys you've got the past one of the greatest of all time in rick flair and his son who people would have thought because of the legacy that he would be one of the next one's gets john and shot o'hare who shot o'hare people that thought. Oh my god he's going to be the future and still kinda overlooking seen it just thinking you know what scene is going to be a hell of a hand february twentieth two thousand two prototype with kenny. Bolan defeated leviathan with sin to win the oh. Vw heavyweight title. that's a wrestlemainia. Main event right there of course leviathan would go on to be known as batista and greatly from right here. Leviathans manager sin. Is jim coordinates wife correctomundo. So you've got ornette you've got jim cornets wife in one corner. His best friend than another an in the ring is john. Cena and batista. This feels crazy that that happened. More than fifteen years ago. No kidding with the prototype and leviathan. Yeah a little bit and Think their careers came a long way. Since then jim cornet has said of johnstown. And lovie w santa was a hard worker. Look the best of anyone there. They thought he was a great. He'll any thought that saint could've been a modern day ric flair type of. He'll but of course. We're not gonna see that. I mean we did see a little bit of a. He'll run for a hiccup with john. Cena early in his w ryan but if things were different how do you think john cena present. They would be as a heel excellent. I think he'd be one of the best ever man. It's a shame that will never see it johnson natural. He'll and. I think you would be absolutely excellent at when you say natural. He'll a lot of people are gonna wonder what you mean. He just he can come across. He's a smart ass in general and he's funny son of a bitch but he can naturally just come across a heal without even trying misunderstood when the big four or they are no vw. Cena listener orton and batista. Would you think would be the biggest star of all randy. Orton randy looking back. Now if you had to pick one st. out lessner orton batista. Who would you pick. Seena at twenty twenty. Yeah seeing but at the time it was man. You got blue chipper. Randy orton may eighteenth. We would see nova. Defeat the prototype to win the heavyweight title do kind of a big show on may thirty first of two at six flags or we would see nova defeat prototype to retain the title and mick foley was the special referee ecorse. He is It's at six flags Couple of weeks after that they'd be back at six flags with jerry lawler and nova Defeating prototype and sean o'hare is the is the gimmick here. Hey guys does anybody wanna go get. Vip treatment at six flags. Because we'll send you vw. If he knew it was during the time during the summer that oh bwi had a deal with six wags whatever kingdom they're in lovo were. They did live events at in the park. I think it was every friday night or something like that and six lacks paid them a nice little fee and better than having to go out and draw house somewhere because you had several thousand people that were at six flags of come in and they would actually by six lag tickets cheaper with lovie w coupon and then go to the wrestling matches. So i think for mick foley. That was definitely a way to get nick. Go little he met. And you gotta go to six flags. We're only lawler as much but just simply a time and it was..

"Growing up and jimmy made boland a heel manager during this time. I don't know i was there all the time. What influence kenny bolin might have had on john cena but i know that kenny bolin was his on air manager for a time of the prototype but beyond that i'm not sure what influence the kennedy bolin might have had. Another cornet had an awful lot of influence on john. Cena and i know that danny davis the trainer had trainer had an awful lot of influence on seena. At the time. You told us once upon a time you know wouldn't in regards to kurt angle. That he took to it like a fish to water in that he was attacking the mat with flags and such. Did you get any sort of report like that from John cena training and no vw. Not from john now. John had to lefty and john was clumsy in the ring but he he worked hard and he he wanted to get better but he was just so damn clumsy. They tried to limit what john would do. And then they kept him in the prototype gimmick and instead of having them go out there and try and work like everybody else. They tried to slow down and take things out of his repertoire so that he didn't look as clumsy but the in contrast rico constantino was the perfect If you want to have a prototype of what you would have wanted in a traditional southern wrestler at that time.

"Staples arena. And i will never forget it. Seen it comes back. He signed his contract test comeback. He's clean as a whistle and bins walks up to get that walking talking. Steroids billboard out of our backstage. I'm like who that guy is seen. We just signed jan. His tests came back and he's completely clean. Got damn and thence made the initial the initial assumption. I think that everybody made whenever they saw john especially back in those days because he was doing commercials for gold's gym and he was ripped to shreds but That was that was. Vince is first impression of john. Cena walking talking steroid billboard so jim ross's version of the story is that He saw tape of the prototype and then made a trip out to. Up w Flew out to see him and then he met with john after and signed him Jr says when he came back to stanford told mcmahon quote i just signed your wrestlemainia main event in five years and he says that he was very excited for the athlete but more excited to sign the person that he believed john be. He described scene is mature classy and had a great work ethic but as a wrestler of course. He was raw unrefined and very green You remember this whole. He's your resume event in five years. I don't but i do remember you know jim walls. Jim was high on him because he was an athlete and he played college football and he was truly classy. Respectful and came crosses is genuinely good guy so we we were. We were higher on the person than we were the guy the talent in the ring at that time because we knew that we could train him so he he gets signed and he comes to lovie w tell us a little bit about oh vw. Tom who's running. It was jim cornets role. I know kevin. Kelly was there I'm not sure when paul heyman came in. I don't know that he was there yet. But tell us a little bit about. Danny davis and jim cornet and just lovie. W at the time that john cena would have gotten there. Jim cornet vw synonymous. Jim cornet when he laughed from the day to day operations in stanford because he didn't want to just be a writer. He went to louisville. And with danny davis opened up oh vw wrestling and it was a training ground where we could send talent to train during the day and then they ran live events during the the talent could train and learn. We put trainers in place in a vw. But then they also display their wares to An audience that actually paid money to see them several times a week and they did weekly television shows so lovie w was our Annex t at the time and we sent Pretty much where we sent everybody down there and rico constantino who was another one from. Up w that rick introduced us to was the first champion of american gladiators. People remember the american gladiators and we sent him down. Dobie w there was guy Off of the simone had brought to me by the name of batista who went though. Vw right about that same time. We had a hell of a crew down there with john. Cena rico constantino and batista all in all w at the same time but it was a place that was just a training ground for them to learn So let's talk a little bit about Star maker bolan He's there and Is pretty critical. Part of john cena career. If you believe star maker bolan so tell us a little bit about kenny. Bolin and his role with john. Cena guaranteed kinney's my best friend mother fucker kenny. "In december of ninety nine and early. Two thousand Finds his way to rick bassman and ultimate pro wrestling bassman decides. Hey this guy would be a good opponent for john. And they start to feud his name. Samoa joe It's just funny. How all of this kind of comes about. Let's talk about the prototype. A little bit more Because the gimmick at least the way it's been described was fifty percent man fifty percent machine. One hundred percent mayhem in your head. Was that character designed or created by john. Cena are rick bassman. I think it was a combination of both from my my recollection. I just thought it was hokey as hell. I didn't like it but there was. I didn't like john's work it. Up w and. i didn't like the gimmick per se. But i fell in love with john cena The guy that was trying to the true john senior. John used to give me a ride back and forth To my hotel from training when are used to go out there and scout talent and just listening to his passion and the way that he would ask questions us very ex- and he had just such a strong desire to succeed. So that kind of drew me in one. Help him all that much more. So when seeing is Working this prototype character for vw. You can actually see him on a show called inside pro wrestling which was put out there by the discovery channel and It wasn't exactly the most will receive documentary simply because at that time people still wanted to kind of control the narrative. I guess they still do about the way wrestling's presented you remember this inside pro wrestling program on the discovery channel. Oh yeah sure do that was they. They set it up so that the cameras would be there. I think tom and i went out or jr. And i went out to show one time and they wanted to show me making notes during a show and all kinds of crazy stuff. But i definitely definitely remember the documentary and it was just as the stereotypical documentary. That was done at that time. any thoughts on. Up w we've talked a little bit about bassman. Talk a little bit about the bell brothers. But what did you think of ep. Ws independent organization. I thought that the wrestling was lacklustre. But we use. Here's here's the thing about. Up w we used up w as a training ground a different place for guys to go and we had memphis we had level. We had florida. We had a group in massachusetts and we had california and we cincinnati but they were all different and i think that for the guys that we would send california in a lot of respects. It was almost for them to go and learn their get in front of a different audience because rick drew good houses. Two big shows. I mean he he got in front of people and we would always tell guys go there train learn but you have to deprogrammed them after they left there. If you know what. I mean it was kind of a place to send people to show them what not to do. So and i think that's valuable sometimes to to be able to let guys see. This isn't the way that we do it. But i want you to see other other things and that was kind of dpw but they were invaluable in that. They presented us with a great wealth of talent for us to look at raw talent. And i could ask rick bassman to get me a casting call today and he would. Have you know one hundred people or me look at tomorrow. Well that's good that you still think so. Highly of him since shit all over his promotion. Say no they did. They did well. They drew well. I just didn't think that they're wrestling in their was what we needed. They trained different way. Cena won the. Up w heavyweight title from smelly bill in april two thousand. He held it for twenty seven days and then dropped it back to bail and left the company in two thousand one but he did return to. Up w for one. Night in two thousand three and lost to frankie his area by the hugh I assume that you guys allowed in back in those three. Just as a favorite bassman just pop a house exactly so something you mentioned earlier. I wanna kind of circle back to you. Just said the first time you met john cena he said if you want to be in the business get off the gas kid and kept it moving so technically you had an opportunity to sign john cena. But you didn't see a jim ross. Did tell us l. jim. Ross is the best and talent relations of all time and you sucked when i met john cena. I'm john seena at the roxy nightclub He was dressed He had just started. I'd never seen him in. The ring and first impression was first impression after several times of going to. Up w and seeing john as work in the ring and seen how he was progressing and being around him outside of the ring with his guard down and not just trying to be honest. Ps and qs found that. Hey there's something here and we had a show in california. We did tv. Jim ross. came out early Jim did not come out. Just me with john. Cena and jim came out. Let's go to the up. W show knol show you some of the guys that that we're interested in and john was one of those guys that we were interested in so we signed john and A few others but the the funny part about that was on there. Forget you know sending john his contract and he called me and said you know. I got a scholarship to springfield college to play football and my dad was really proud of me. Says my dad cried. When i called him and told him. I got a wwf contract. This that's been goal my whole life and has kind of been my dad's goal as well and that owned me at that point so we send a man right there that know that day. It's like you sign your contract and you have to go in and do your tests that day and you know part of those tests or your your drug. Tissue blood test All the the other health stuff that the talent has to go through and john passed everything with flying colors so we were in los angeles at staples coliseum.

"We we've touched on the bill brothers briefly before in the archives. But tell us a little bit about The bell brothers. Well my mad dog mike bill. I think they're i think they're also from boston massachusetts as well but they mike was a enhancement talent for the wwf for many many years and he also worked some forty c. W but i think you would kinda classify him as a journeyman wrestler and he is. His brother smelly had moved out at california to do bodybuilding but also to try and get into the movies so mike went out there. Mike was trying to do stunt work and mike was trying to do some movie stuff and they were just really close. Knit family in really couldn't ask for to better guys. That truly loved the business. Mike wanted so badly to be successful in the business. We tried a few different times with him. But it just. Vince couldn't get over the the stigma of being that enhancement guy. Unfortunately mike passed away at thirty seven years. Old in a rehab facility He died of a heart attack that was brought on from huffing dust off. The thing is to clean your keyboard that happened in december of await. His brother though as he mentioned. Chris bell is the guy who put together bigger faster stronger and prescription thugs. Bigger faster stronger was pretty controversial at the tom in the wrestling business It came out in two thousand eight and then prescription thugs. I think a couple of years ago all about opioid addiction and so forth at both of those. If you're even a casual wrestling fan are interesting because of what. We've heard over the years about the abuse of steroids and prescription drugs in professional wrestling. So shout out to him for that Let's talk about rick bassman. You have any phone or interesting. Rick bassman stories. You know this seems like a kind of a you know an old school way of doing things you know back in the day and i guess still exists but back in the day you know you didn't have the internet so you had scouts who would kind of go around and look for the next big thing in baseball and these baseball scouts would stumble across these funds and then it would become you know this great story and rick bassman. Kinda seems like a throwback to that And when you run through the list of guys he's putting the business you know specifically the ms staying ultimate warrior. John cena. I mean those are pretty pretty big damn names. Well you look at bathroom battles place in the right place in southern california there so you had people who wanted to be movie. Stars wanted to be television stars looking to break in. And you have big guys that are looking for shots and bassman positioned himself as an agent that could get them acting gigs on the side whether it be commercials or bit parts and movies and position himself as a representative of big unique looking guys to the movie studios so some of these unique characters would come in and if they needed Big wrestler type. A for a television commercial they usually call rick bassman and he would pick from his cast of characters that he had their training. Up w send him down and get him acting gigs. so rick helped them while they were training getting them. Good hollywood gigs. And if rick saw something in them ric would usually try and sign them up to a contract where they got a deal with another company that he would get paid. A percentage off of that after the fact that caused a lot of controversy Later on in our relationship trade pros whether you specialize in service or new. Construction ferguson knows firsthand..

"Who's been on austin's podcast before approached him and asked if he had ever considered pro wrestling And they invited him to come down and do try out at the school and then senior reports back to his dad that the first time he got in the ring he knew that's what he wanted to do and he really dedicated himself just as it has to everything else is going to work everyday. Then he'd go to the gym then he go to the wrestling school then go home. Rinse lather repeat every single day. And he's doing this while he's living in a garage apartment and only making thirty forty fifty bucks a show working. The independence is gimmick. Of course bruce. Remember the gimmick. Tell us about the gimmick the prototype. I am proto tai. He had a flat top haircut bleach blond hair and dark sunglasses and was trying to be somewhat of a hybrid. Between the terminator. And i don't know what the hell else. But i i met john seena at the roxie in hollywood really yes and i was there with rick bassman bassman says. Hey i want to introduce you to one of my new trainees. This guy's going to be really big. He's got a great attitude. So on and so forth and rick had instructed cena how to introduce himself and how to be around me instead of just being in the cell for early. Let's let's talk about rick bassman for a minute rick. Bassman is running. Up w ultimate pro wrestling It's in california and this is nineteen ninety nine or so. Would you say bruce. That's when he first started out there. With rick i think and really probably rick is most famous probably For introducing the wrestling world to the ultimate warrior staying. Would you agree with that. Yes power team. Usa which was himself staying ultimate warrior. One other gentleman but multiple other guys have kind of been discovered by rick. Bassman the ms chris. Masters luther reigns nathan jones. Jon heidenreich on on John cena is another guy on that list anyway. Continue your story so the john. John came down and we met in a hallway with john. Coming down a set of stairs and rick introduced many says. Hello i am prototype then like that like not hail. Hey my name's john hello. im prototype. And i looked at him and he was huge. And i said if you want to make in the business get off. The gas kid. And i kept walking because i i felt that him introducing himself as his gimmick name any looked..

"Well of course the scene and we see now is super cena But if you do a little research that cena was bullied as a kid and the kids are actually beating them up so he wanted to start lifting weights and then one year actually asked his dad for a weight set for christmas and then he became obsessed he worked at it every day and then the age of fifteen he met the owner of the hard knocks. Jim dave knock They hit it off. And dave would push to lift to the point of throwing up and bursting. Blood vessels in both is i. Dave himself was the former bodybuilder. And this inspired sina to really work at it And so before. He decided he wanted to kind of double down on this. He would start working out three times a day and it became his obsession but seeing it wasn't always the outward guy that we know now Once time who's a pretty shy guy. So before his first bodybuilding tournament Dave knock actually made him go to the center of the town wearing his bikini bottoms and do his posed routine right in the middle of the town and then walk down the sidewalk in the outfit. It did this of course to kind of get john over his nerves of being on stage in this little bikini bottom and it did the trick and now you know all these years later. It's hard to imagine a shower version of john. Cena did you ever meet dave knock. This guy seems like he's been a critical part of johnson life very influential. I've met him through the years but never really had any conversation with me. I know who he is said. Hello but that's about it. He's a friend of cena's and somebody that he really looks up to and and does credit with counter where he is and getting out of his shell. We're talking about the enthusiasm for working out. Is something that john cena has of been aligned with for a long time and we as wrestling fans heard for years back that the guy on the road. He likes to train with when they're on the road together is zorro because they both locked to lift heavy. Do you know of any fun or interesting Jim stories of john cena and some of the other superstars. I think saint is always trying to out. Do not only everybody else. But he's always trying to outdo himself and he's one of those guys gets into the gym and is trying to break whatever silly record that he can possibly come up with but he's a hard worker. The law wait. I'll wait till we get there. The first time that i've ever met scene and give you the advice that i gave him but he lived workout. He lived a train live to build his body. Well he did that Bodybuilding competition that we've talked about and he got second place Allegedly according to dave knock the judge assumed that he was cheating and using drugs and gave him second place. That's dave knocked story He did have to. This is worth mentioning. Because there's been lots of rumored innuendo out there. Johnson did have to pass a polygraph there in order to compete and he did pass And at sixteen seventeen. He looked like a professional bodybuilder needed. Play football in high school and then actually chose to go to springfield college. He chose there because of their reputation for health and fitness and they were cranking out personal trainers which is obviously something saying was very very interested in Encina has always positioned himself as a leader His coach and other players that he would play with on. The football team would say that he would give motivational speeches to the rest of the offensive line. That would give the guys chills So he was the leader in the huddle of the game. Not the quarterback the offensive. Lineman john cena and he used this motivation and drive and focus to become an all american Anna legibly if you believe his friends they would site. Santa didn't study but it did fine in school. He would joke about sleeping with his book under his pillow and having a lucky pencil He was just one of those guys who for whatever reason at it and didn't have to put in a lot of effort in that regard During the bodybuilding competition that he would you know traditionally try to enter into. He would continually get references to his calves that he needed to work on his calves. So one of the things he tried to do is actually cut his pants into shorts so he would continually have to look at cavs all the time as a reminder to work out on them and he did He would work out in the morning. He'd worked in the afternoon and he'd worked out in the evening And then of course eventually after college a decides hey man. I want to continue this bodybuilding. So he moved to california. Which bruce you can catch us up on this. Historically most of the big bodybuilders came from venice beach california in that area which is one of the reasons so many of the wrestlers. Their gimmick was that they were from venice beach. California brother right. Well yeah and that's where everybody wanted to work out because if you worked out in muscle beach man you got seen people came by. And that was a spot where schwarzenegger and a lot of hollywood types would be and they would go and work out and they went there to be seen so they would work out. They would show their bodies off. They would try and show. The personalities often get noticed and try to become the next big thing. So you know. This is nineteen ninety eight now and he's in california. He's just graduated from springfield college with a degree in exercise physiology. And he's trying to get a career going bodybuilding so none of that pays the bills so instead he works As a driver for a limousine company so of course. John cena is hanging in banking at the gold's gym in california. One day i went to wrestlers. Come in all of a sudden how about this i. It's funny that some of these happy accidents happen like this mad dog. Mike bell and his brother smelly..

Be careful big. Very careful. I'm being very careful. Because i need people to understand where i'm coming from this. When stone cold goes and comes back he still feels like one of us because outside of the podcast. Straight up steve austin and all these other things and him just being a pop culture just sort of figure outside of wrestling. He's always still kinda felt like one of us right so when he comes back. We're excited. we love it. It's awesome but aside from his injuries and not being able to really wrestle and just do a couple promos a couple of beers you kind of temporary excitement when you hear stone cold steve. Austin's going to be on a raw right. It's a little different with johnson though so it's a little different with the rock. They're both still in shape. They both still have you know. They can still give a lot to the to the to the business by able to still perform and john. Cnn has crossover. Even before he really left he had already started crossover into mainstream media and now more than ever. he's just ubiquitous. I mean like if it's not a jeep commercial the it's not a it's not a suicide squad is not fast and.

Oh my God. And then the shit hit the fan. Apparently, Chinese social media got winded and saying that and they let him know Taiwan is not a country. How dare you say that? You got to correct that now. You got to apologize now. I don't care how you do it, but you got to do it now. So John Cena, the schmuck that he is, never trusted him. He's a fucking hypocrite. I know I'm right. I always have Spidey senses about people. I never met him, but I know I'm right. And then today I get word from somebody who knows him, that I am exactly right. John Cena Apologizes for Calling Taiwan a Country in Interview
"Has had the issue an apology. To China in Mandarin. After calling Taiwan its own country. And some interview is doing for fast and the furious nine So Beijing considers Taiwan a self rule Democratic Island and a province that's part of China. But a lot of people view Taiwan as its own country and they feel Hong Kong should be free along with it. So John senior doing this fast and furious interview calls Taiwan a country and all the folks in China get their undies in a wad. And next thing you know, John Sena's doing this cringeworthy Apology video. That kind of looks like one of those hostage videos blank twice. If you really mean it, John and he's speaking Mandarin, which okay, impressive. That's impressive. But don't ever apologize for believing that Taiwan is a country or Hong Kong should be free and saying either one of those doesn't make you a bad guy. But if you apologize because it might hurt your bottom line, and it might affect your movie. You're a weak punk. So that's what it is so fast, And the furious was supposed to come out last year around this time. It's now premiering and believe in the middle. Is it coming out in June? Kyle? June June 25th? Yes. Nikki Bella Sends Ex John Cena Belated Wedding Congrats
"This is daily and we have so much gossip to discuss. We are talking about the star. Who loves being naked and white halle berry is defending her skills in the bedroom. I nikki bella was just on the spot about her ex. john seen it. So on the all things being pumped podcasts. Nikki was asked if she congratulated john his wedding. Well here's what she had said. I haven't But yeah. I didn't say might supposed to show sundays to you. Could just say now john. I congratulate you on your wedding. It's they're documented. Yeah so john. Congratulations on your wedding. I'm very very happy three. Oh i really don't think you have to congratulate an ex when they get married. Don't you know. I mean. And if i do i wait like a year later mike. Oh we just we that you got research we know he. He was pregnant this morning. Well yes but this is pregnant with twins. But this is. I didn't congratulate on the first kid is the second round and realize you have three kids so interesting. I'm surprised that she didn't congratulate him on his wedding when he called her to congratulate her on having. The baby isn't like your normal reflex to be like that. And congratulations to what's going on in your life to john. I also think that you know. Just that i think you have a point. I think also because of the fact that he was genuinely probably really happy for nikki because she got everything that she wanted out of somebody that he would not give to her after so many years of her trying so i think there's less resentment on his end probably for her. She's really happy she has a new baby. She's with man she's supposed to be with but it's still unsure kind of triggers. Her instincts her a little bit when she's like well. Thanks mother effort but like you didn't do shit like i was waiting for six years. You didn't do anything that you were supposed to do and said you would do. Yeah i mean. I don't think that. I think that that's plenty. Especially whenever they both like you know moved on at felt like it was very fast. He their breakup seemed like a long time coming because they kind of accepted it but they both moved on kind of fast. And i think whenever it happens kind of fast like that. It's too fresh like you're like nah not happy for you yet. Give me some time to like. Get over everything that i still hold against you. And then maybe i'll be happy for you. Look let me give you some crying on the floor. Little advice for some going through something. Similar what i went through something like this for me. Saying congratulations to x. Who had moved on got married was kinda therapeutic because it kind of finalizes and it kinda close that chapter in your life. That relationship is not only not only over. But it's not coming back around for you right so then you can emotionally finally move on because no matter how happy you are you new relationship. No matter how happy you seem to be on social you still holding a flame for that person. You still want them person to want you back yeah. I don't know if it's a claim but that for sure one hundred percent. You're like i still expect that you're probably crying over me right. It's been twelve years but you're probably still upset about me really fast. Listrik thing it you still hold a flame over your ex is still want them to be like how you do it. It's not like crying on the floor. Just know that you think that's true. Okay that's all i need. Yeah that's all you guys done that though degray syntax ex when they have big moments oh god no because i don't think there's been any big moments yet. I i do think that once you've been with somebody for over four years it really becomes like it's it's just a bulbs into something more than just a romantic relationship. This is just a human being that you spent a lot of time with respect that point in your life that you had together you do like them as a person unless the person really did something you just wrong you and the and the damage irrevocable at some point you just sort of fade into. I really do want this person to do well. I did invest in this person and want us to be able to be cordial and nice. And i think that most people get there just in you got there. You were the bigger person in your last relationship you were. You definitely had your. There was some trauma there real quickly and said your piece one hundred percent but i never want my people be like. Oh yeah my ex is doing great. I want people to be like daniel man. That's what i'm looking guy. He's hanging out with data. That makes you feel bad though is bad as me. You're here he's got it all together. You are just same as me but let me tell you something i. The universe has put me in some uncomfortable situations where i'm not only running into my ex. I run into my ex. And his new boo right. So that's a little bit more difficult. What's hollywood is really small. But i truly adam. I am more like you as much as i like to say no. I am more of a happy that you're happy even though it's not as happy as you were with me but that's not just details details all right. Sam shells that are signed up to patriot. Dot com slash. Sam wrestling. That we all get to chat There were a couple of them. That were upset. That alexa was engaged because they thought that that was going to be them. Unfortunately it's not but don't worry you still got the patriot community. You still got us. It's one of the happiest things if you are with the right person. The day the night the evening the afternoon that you get engaged one of the happiest times ever just such an expression of joy. It's beautiful. I love it but everybody's talking about it. I mean alexa. Bliss is a huge star. You know you've got. Wwe tweeting about it. And i probably should be. It's it's a little bit absurd to ignore it. You know not only is one of the biggest stars really realistically alexa. Bliss is one of the biggest stars in. wwe male or female. She's one of the most famous people in. Wwe so you know. And this is big. Wwe is big time. Now you got sasha banks over here on the mandalorian which you see. Sasha banks one of the big another one of the biggest stars in wwe and probably the biggest tv show. that's on the air right now. You see that happening which weird. The wwe isn't making a bigger deal out of that. Like if i were. Www shouting it from the rooftops. But you've got that going on at the same time you got to cherry public engagement. You know i mean. I feel like we should let's angle for a reality show. Let's get on the phone. I was watching total balas over the weekend. And i was like you know what i miss. When they would go to wrestlemainia. I was just sitting there waiting for them to go to wrestling. Like oh wait. There is no more wrestling. And that's when. I realized that i was watching total bells for the wrestling parts. They still got daniel bryan on the show. Obviously no more john cena. They're not going to wrestling shows anymore. So it's like oh. I like the balanced. But i'm still you know living in brima to seven but they're not gonna wrestling shows anymore so yes so let's get alexa. Bliss rang cabrera. Let's get blissfully something or other. You know you got bliss already in there you you got it. But here's what. I think needs to happen now that we've acknowledged. Wwe is acknowledged it's all over wwe social media platforms. I think that you gotta lean into it. And i think that you should use it. I think that this can be a lot of fun. Especially because ryan cabrera is also a public person. Here's the way. I think this needs to go. You had this segment on raw last week. Where nikki cross is talking to alexa. And there's this acknowledgement that they used to be friends. Which i think is great. We're not pretending that the election nikki partnership never happened is a big part of. Wwe at the time you know. We're still acknowledging it and alexis doing that. Weird phony friendly like almost like i'm in a trance. Peewee herman thing and nikki cross tells her alexa you gotta pick mere the fiend and alexa. As if it doesn't bother it all goes. Oh okay. I pick him. And walks away and nikki crosses befuddled by the whole thing befuddled. I love this. I think we need to keep this going. You know i look. This is the type of stuff. I want for alexa bliss and the this is why i say. Keep the fiend away from the universal championship. Keep the fiend away from the wwe championship because these are the types of stories. You can tell you know. I think that we should go back and look at who are friends. Were in annex t the start telling those stories and have somebody come out. Go like lexi. What are you doing things. You're you're not the same person what what's happening. I pick him and you know over. The course of a couple of weeks have her abandoning oliver. All friends and then finally ryan cabrera comes out on raw and it's like real life now it's like is this alexa. Bliss is this. What's her name lexi kaufman in real life. I don't know. I only know people by their wrestling names. But is this the real alexa. Bliss from real life. is the character alexa bliss now. We're mixing everything up. Which is what we should all be doing. That's the way wrestling is at. Its best mix everything up. And you've ryan cabrera out on raw and he's like alexa. I love you and she's like i love you. Do you know like yeah. Of course it you love me. I love you. We're we're doing great and he's like well. You're not the same person i thought. When we got engaged it would shake you out of this transfer inches. I'm not in a trance. I'm just seeing things for what they are for. The first time ryan cabrera goes lexi. I need you need you to pick you. Pick me or the fiend. She's kind of taken aback. She's like i didn't realize he felt that way. Ryan that's how i feel and she's like well net case i pick him. He's like what and then you hear bumble bumble bumble and the lights go out. Eat whatever those sounds are and tom phillips going. Oh no not here that's alexa. Bliss fiance pop sensation ryan cabrera and the red lights come on and the fiend is behind ryan cabrera and ryan cabrera's looking around and he's looking at alexa bliss. I what are you doing here. Like this is our real life and then he realized he gets his goosebumps. You realize the fiend is right behind him so he turns around and the phoenix cox's head and sticks his tongue out of his mask grabs ryan cabrera vice skull dips him over gives him a kiss on the forehead and he sister abigail ryan cabrera. Alexa bliss is real life. Fiance get sister abigail an alexa bliss just standing over him smiling. I love it man. I mean i i think that why not why not. I feel like it would be good for everybody involved. Like let's let's blur the lines here guys. Let's not pretend there's two separate entities as it's happening eventually we can tell the story of how like. Oh this is so wild in my personal and blah blah blah but while it's happening muster blending these lines with blurred altogether be like. That's a real fiancee right. Yup like the best is when you're trying to explain to a non wrestling fan. What storyline and what's not storyline. And they get confused because you're a little bit confused because you're not one hundred percent sure where the lines are and who's getting worked by what maybe. wwe tweeting about this was part of the storyline. All along are they even really engaged. I don't even know anymore. I don't know anything anymore. I guess i'm just going to sit here and watch monday night. Ron finds out. Find out what happens next. Because that's the way we should be watching anyway. Just let it play out and see what happens. I would love that if that happened. I would love it if that happened. Socket in our discord room. Says i love that. Sam has cabrera taking bumps like the fiend doesn't use the middle claw. He hit the mandible claw. After maybe alexa bliss puts the mandible claw him or something like that but is taking sister abigail. I mean we are laying out ryan cabrera. 'cause i want e. news. I want entertainment tonight. I want whatever extra whatever. Entertainment shows are left on television. I want people magazine. People dot com. I want everybody posting videos of being like popstar ryan cabrera. Remember him. Well i remember. I remember will now. He's getting laid out by the fiend on monday night raw. Because here's what happens. If you have a pop star that you grew up idolizing and he's getting laid out. Here's the way that works. You get the people who don't watch wrestling to not only get a glimpse of monday night raw but they get a glimpse of the theme. The is one the most unique properties the wwe has. The fiend is the type of visual. That went a non wrestling fan watches. They go what the hell is that. I'm going to have to tune in and see what that's all about. That's one of the strengths of the fiend. And if you got footage of ryan cabrera eating a sister. Abigail and his real life fiance alexa. Bliss is looking on happily in that weird fien state. You got money bro. you got money. I hope they're already thinking in that direction. If not. i'm in text. Bruce richard because somebody has to tell them get ryan cabrera on that show and lay that out. I think it'd be great. I think it'd be great. Congratulations to the two of them. But i have to believe that ryan cabrera. Whatever time of his life. I know i would if my fiance was a wrestler and she was like hey would you mind coming to raw and having the fiend. Give you sister abigail. I'd be like number one. That's awesome number two. After the show me. I get a picture of him in full gimmick. I really wish i could do that. I really wish i mean. I wish. I wish that. I could have one of the shows that i was at the fiend was at too. I wish i could just go like hey bro. Can we take a picture with you. Still in your gimmick and not. Be a weirdo. That doesn't deserve to be backstage. Because man do. I want that picture a really really. Do

"It almost like TV shows are never really over anymore showtime just announced its reviving Dexter Michael Hall will reprise his role as the serial killer who spoiler alert got away in the end and became a lumberjack. season. Finale. Dateline like every week. Seven years ago. Fan reactions finale was. Fantastic. So why is this necessary pink? Sometimes people want a Redo. Not The women have charmed. I guess I didn't watch Dexter a whole lot but I, feel like it's great. He's coming back. Why not I love it. Enough time that went past finale to now it's when they start rushing shows to come back. Yeah. Like charmed guess I love the new one. Yes it's great. But like watching the reruns. Gucci Lucile the ASS. The Suicide Squad Spinoff Peacemaker, Starring John Cena, Ordered to Series at HBO Max
"Let's talk about the this TV series those announced they a suicide squad spinoff Chris Talks about it Yes. It's called peacemaker and it's going to star John Cena who is in the film peacemaker and the show is going to either be a follow up or Prequel, we don't know. But we do know that that James Gunn who is directing the suicide squad wrote all the eight episodes of the upcoming series and he's going to direct some of them as well and it will be on. HBO. Max, who was also handling the Batman spinoff series about the Gotham police. Force. Okay you mentioned this could be a prequel. This could be a sequel like what we know. Well, the officials log line says it's a it is going to explore the characters origins which. Sure sounds like it's a prequel but James Gunn is being. Cagey on twitter DOT COM. So we don't really know I personally think he's just trying to save face 'cause the suicide squad doesn't come out until next year and he doesn't WanNa be like, yes. This character definitely dies in my movie you won't get to see for a few months but. I guess we'll see. What do we know about this character? He is. Some he is started as a master of weapons and also he's quote a man who believes in peace at all costs no matter how many people he has to kill and quote. So he's like I guess he's like ultraviolent Captain America. Unfamiliar with, peacemaker as a character. Is it strange that they're announcing a SPINOFF TV show before this movie comes out I mean, not really I mean they did the same thing with with the Batman thing and I, really think they're trying to build up. This world they have you know marvel has been. Raining supreme all these years and marvel has a bunch of Disney plus shows coming out and you know brothers. Let's we need to get in on this action as well.

New Movies Coming To Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu And HBO This Weekend
"If you have Amazon prime video there's a movie called mice bite which was just hitting theaters when covert nineteen hit this is an action comedy Dave Batista who's you know guardians of the galaxy you know that big giant former wrestler guy he's a CIA agent row he finds himself teamed up with the precocious nine year old so in other words should be making kindergarten cop now I have to tell you about this to think that this is actually this is a rite of passage for action star Jackie Chan had a movie like this the rock had a movie like this John Cena is had a movie like this at some point you gotta so you're lovable side and be charged with guarding little kids and then you learn about the soft side yourself this one is particularly horrible and one of the things we hate about this movie Rakan my spot is set primarily in Chicago they shot it in Toronto eight that and the worst moments in this movie is there's a chase that begins in wicker park okay the bad guy gets behind the wheel of a car with her party he's trying to get away from Dave Batista CIA agent now the C. I. A. tech person is in David she says here telling them where you know traveling this guy and the agents as one minute after this car leaves wicker park the agent says looks like he's heading to the Naperville area because Naperville has a giant airfield so wrong later five minutes later we're in phony Naperville where I kid you not there's a big you know action sequence where the plane on the runway is now dangling over what appears to be the Grand Canyon who knew that in Naperville there was an airport overlooking a giant canyon clearly green screen so I mean it's just been really poorly done it's too violent for the little kids and it's too stupid for the adults and a lot of parents thing all this might be fun have a fun action movie stay away from my spy that's too bad you're you're totally right about that right of passage because Arnold Schwarzenegger had to do that too right I mean it was like a garden shop yeah I mean everybody has to make sure that the kids have something to go watch in that in those movies were actually pretty good for kids you're saying this one's not this was terrible okay now I've got I've got the funniest movie of the summer Fauria probably so far it has the worst title of all time it's called Eurovision Song Contest the story of fire saga well the Eurovision Song Contest is an actual deal in Europe and has been since the rent if these in fact Salim young was discovered on that aba was first on the Eurovision Song Contest this is a parity with will Ferrell the king of the parity right and Rachel McAdams they play a couple of Icelandic singer songwriters he's Lars Eriksen she's cigarette original daughter and their Icelandic and they're dreaming of representing their home whether they do kind of like Viking game of thrones stamp rock songs so this is filled with all these big production numbers because then we meet the contestants from Greece and the grand the Russian the Russian contest is actually played by our friend Dan Stevens was Matthew Crawley on Downton abbey he plays a Russian oligarch who's also a ballad singer it's really really stupid and it's really really funny it's mostly excuse these big giant set pieces where they do these huge production numbers remember will Ferrell did a movie called blades of glory your hair well he does for you know that did for ice dancing with the stars for song competition so even though we don't know the Eurovision Song Contest here in the states we know about all the competition shows that this is basically get one singer from each country you know what it's all European countries they have a couple of other than the states they're not we're not eligible for the Eurovision Song Contest was there an SNL bit with will Ferrell that was similarly themed I I just don't know that there could have been it's it's clearly the kind of stuff that he just excels at when you see him in the big Viking outfit and looks like the blue eye shadow it's singing about Viking you know might biking protector this is the song from this will enrich McAdams by the was wonderful as well she can also be very funny the video and the song they do is so terrible that it's great because it looks just like when you see those kind of you know that's a big deal that kind of like that Viking will rock nonsense yeah there's my aunts were everybody everybody pretends like the rolling the slave ship which is really just unfortunate or the big Viking ship as it will be we kind of you know horrible music but really right prepared well it there's that old joke about Led Zeppelin thank you know I have the have the crap was about Vikings right and if the agency had no idea what they were saying about this the music was so great musicianship as of right but if you look back you're like what the hell of the talk was only in the middle of the song yeah they had they did they had references to the lord of the rings when it was just a yeah they were so ready this is really true okay and anything else this weekend it's yeah I want to tell people is a completely does shift in tone row but the there's a best selling book a called I'll be gone in the dark written by the late Michelle McNamara who was UP board result park went to California become a true crime writer Mary Patton Oswalt the famous comedian and actor and she wrote about one of the best true crime book sense in cold blood called I'll be gone in the dark about the search for the Golden State killer probably the least known to most prolific serial killer rapist of the last fifty years this is not a six part series about Michelle's book and also about the Golden State killer it starts on HBO on Sunday night if people if you're into that true crime genre you know talk about making a murderer people aren't so many of these other ones this is the podcast to get started this is brilliantly done and it's really a profile of Michelle McNamara and her marriage to Pat now as well because it's young obviously she had a lot of recording should podcasters video for a lot and she died while writing the book she died in her sleep partially because the stress of the book and and prescription drugs and under heart condition and they continued patent and some researchers continued and finished the book without her and then we get to know the story of this incredible monster who I will let people know was just arrested a couple of years ago and charged with all these crimes because guess what they got his DNA matched about fourteen of the crime scenes that that kept the updates from I'll be gone in the

Yes, Girl!
This Is Juneteenth: A Celebration of Our Black Freedom, History, and Future
"Murray and I'm probably, and this is special GT's twenty twenty episode of Yes felt. You. Hey I am feeling extra. Because of all the attention, June teeth is getting. You know it was a big part of my life being from Texas. I love how you like light up when you talk about being from Texas that black joy of all here for it, but honestly for those people who don't know who are just finding out. Can you just break it on down? Would exactly as Jim? And how you celebrate it like. How did you celebrate a growing up in Texas? June teeth is a celebration. Marks sedated blackened slate people in Texas when notified they were free in eighteen, sixty five two whole years after the emancipation proclamation was declared, now understand that there were no phones back then, but y'all come on. was there a wiretap as something that could have been sent June teens for me was extra special, growing up in Texas because as As I've mentioned before several times from foot words in a black area called stop six and stop six really came out to celebrate June jeans. A municipal daily went to the park. We had fun. It was really a holiday was really a holiday for us, but you know as much as I had those pleasant memories of June teams growing up. This year feels bitter. Bitter sweet, because we're feeling a lot of things right now. especially, as relates to our freedom on one hand, everyone is acknowledging June team this year playlist being created, there is talk shows. They're doing TV specials I mean companies giving employees a day off to celebrate it. If it was really trendy right now to celebrate June team, you know what cory honestly the spirit? Spirit of keeping real as we do on yes girl and didn't learn about June team growing up as a little girl in new. Jersey Island for the first time at summit. When I went to college and it's interesting because I've heard more mainstream references to June teen over the past three weeks than I have in my entire career, essence or my adult. That's Real Charlie and I get it as you know, there's such a divide in a lack of true. When it comes to learning black history in this country, but you know what Japan that is why I'm glad we have a platform I guess girl, because where we can add a little that education than a celebration to the world, which is why I love that we spoke to activists and insecure star can exemption because he reminded US why his family make sure they celebrated June instead of July four. Check it out I know a lot of people in California. Don't celebrate. didn't know it was Short version is the last slaves they found out. They free in Galveston Texas about thirty minutes outside where I grew up Two years after the emancipation proclamation and we celebrate that especially in Texas, but It's like the July fourth. For Black folks like we wasn't Independent on Independence Day on John. Cena no, so I grew up my dad and was very adamant about this. He you know he was like July. Fourth is bullshit. You know and so we got. June teen and the food was a you know. Such memories of having Big Rig Soda. ICE, cream. L. Trinity Park Downtown Fort Worth and barbecue. Party was a party and it was one of those things where you let your kids wrong free. Day You know what I mean so I love love love. How honestly black people we have so much to share with one another, if like our culture is not only vast, but there's always more to learn is always more share, the soul must be proud of you know, and that Kinda felt after the conversation with Kendrick, we got roots and I'm proud of those weeks. Push Short, Charlie Pin I mean there's so much information coming the surface now and that's the thing. Thing we're finding ways to be joyful, even while remembering that. Yes, today's ut. We still don't really feel free and the next clip speaks directly to that. We had corey. We had one of our favorite couples on the show. You remember crooked Tammy Franklin and they always offer Info and where to pope, and Kirk got really real about how hard it is to celebrate Dune teams. While also morning, their lives murdered almost daily in this country, because racism employees metality. Let's listen. Listen No. I'm telling you. I may be in the streets trying to rally a Marta something I'm serious right now. I'm I'm. I'm thinking of tangible things. Remember to show my unity in support, so it is. The climate is very difficult to celebrate in right now, and and and and when you talk about freedom, exactly, what does that look When How do we quantify that right now? Because of those difficult truce in Oh you boy maybe? A mask on with smothers, brothers and sisters, and we stand in marching in unity about You know once again. We came breath so

Bloomberg Opinion
The uncertainty of the entertainment industry
"New shows and movies are getting made movie and TV studios have had to temporarily stop filming and send their crews home in order to help stop the spread of the corona virus so what happens when Hollywood gets shut down here to tell us is Tara lachapelle a media columnist for Bloomberg opinion so it tell us about the filming of vacation friends the vacation friends both new movies from twentieth century you DO IT if the comedy that within a star John Cena and it was in the middle middle of filming and Porter Rico because this movie is that on a vacation resort and they had to stop production two weeks from today and they still had about six weeks ago but everyone had to pack up and go home because of this pandemic and how to garner who's one of the idol makers on this movie he was talking about and everything podcast and and just think how you know they've never faced questions like that when I found that you know is it thank you for a make up artist be catching the actors faces and you know we're all working in such close quarters it is best okay so they decided to go home and it feels like it's just been a domino's a fact about the industry where every film and TV that I was in the middle of shooting decided you know what we have to just put this on hold sure does it go beyond scripted shows to every kind of show it's everything I mean there are reality TV shows that had to stop filming because they didn't want where you know crew that way if you're calling a different people informing them for them to Friday and so basically everything has been shut down even the friends three union national that a lot of people were looking forward to it with both the Eric next month hi Katie really H. B. O. mac is that new streaming service HBO and the country in the past would really like a headline show for that and it seems like that probably isn't going to happen now so it's basically everything I mean just the entire industry hi you can put a halt I was thinking about the streaming services because you want new content all the time if I don't see something new on Netflix in a week I'm like what's the problem here so it seems like they're really going to take a hit if they're true you know just like you said that's right now you know if you spend a lot of time watching Netflix there's great stuff on there but after awhile you started garland by Larry thought that I'm not really interested in that and you kind of feel like you run out of things even though there are thousands of hours of content on there not everything is something you want to watch and that's the same issue with all these different new streaming apps like business class and the in the car he cocked their veteran Comcast this month and H. B. O. Max next month where they're spending so much money in content but it will not gonna feel like it's not especially right now when so many people are home streaming more content than ever and there's nothing new flowing in you know all the shows that had highly anticipated return even like stranger things on Netflix and expression on HBO they were in the middle of shooting our next season and now that that that you know even before this when I look at some of the streaming services all see one or two shows that I like on each of them but all together like they had the one or two headlining shows that draw people in but the rest of it is less than desired that's going to be a really big problem I think while we're all sheltering at home because you know not only are we home but some of us are having you know we're going to furloughs or being laid off or experiencing some economic stress because of what's happening and so when you start to look at your monthly bill and you have H. B. L. at fifteen dollars a month and that like that thirteen and maybe have people you meet all these services really add up very quickly and like you said it's not like they all have the same contact if you want to watch Star Wars content nearly thirty five and if you want to watch the connection or you want to watch you know old episodes of game of thrones you need HBO and Netflix and all this other stuff so it becomes really difficult to manage all of these not to mention the frustration of trying to figure out where is that show that he won a lot the stock really gonna come to a head during all this where the industry is going to kind of faith that point where they need to realize that if the customer friendly and maybe they'll start to see people dropping in and out because of the cost what movies some are going straight to on demand with a hefty price tag for home admission how is that changing or might it change in the future the movie industry yeah that's really throwing the movie industry for a loop so for a long time you have been trying to shorten the theatrical window the time period that their movies are in theaters exclusively in Morrow with movie theaters closed a lot of these current releases have the option to stay you know what we're just going to get the theaters altogether instead of waiting for them to re open a we're gonna put it on demand which is exactly what universal pictures dead with the next hold movie they put on demand for twenty dollars to rent which is very expensive and then again if you're ready so it's not like you own the movie HD free watching it however with the next fast and the furious movie which is called after nine that movie was such a big budget film that universal really need the box office revenue that would complement of releasing the film this spring they're holding off until next spring the user having a big is really difficult decision and it begs the question of what's going to happen down the road to theater scheduled how are we going to stop all these different movies and you don't only play so many movies especially blockbusters on a given weekend so this is going to become really challenging and especially for the theater operator because they were already hurting they already have so much that they're close now and they're building believing some of their leverage because the ball there and when they come out of it it remains to be seen how the industry moved on from

John Cena Thinks The Days Of WWE Having One Top Star Are Over
"I think the dynamic of the program is changing, for the longest time, I think, if you consider WWE aband-, there's been one front person of the band, I think that dynamic is changing and it's because the audience is too diverse. I think older males are watching it younger kids are watching it females or. Watching it the audience is so diverse. So with the diverse audience, it's tough to universally, please someone in the eighties, you had a family oriented program in hoagie was the front man in the nineties. You had eighteen to thirty five year old males income. Steve Austin, and Dwayne Johnson because they hit right down that wheelhouse. And then there was me, but even myself, as you know, went through a polarizing stage where half the audience likes you and half the audience doesn't. So I don't think there's a universal figure that will lead the company forward, I think as the company grows and especially expense globally. You're going to have like a super friends of the WWE, which is like people who are essentially fighting for equal share of popularity. I think the, the band, essentially will now have ten lead singers of every different race creed color, sex S necessity. So I believe that I was kind of the last of, of that, and I think that the landscape is changed so much that it's more of a group effort rather than individual effort.

John CENA And Colonel Rick discussed on Lights Camera Barstool
"CENA, we'll be in suicide squad to well. He's in talk. They say in talks, it's going to happen. John CENA suicide squad too. I literally cannot think of one character. He would play. Besides Colonel Rick flag, and that's taken by joke. Kinnamon?
