That was a big wake up call for me so if there's no less than out if nothing else comes out of this i think your your audience All the people listening to this they can take away that you know when you're playing at a poker game doesn't matter if it's tournament or cash what.

"Between the star before the start of the tournament and after the end of the tour on a night that normally would be a pretty quiet night for us. And that's just a rough number and that's just an example of how we were able to correlate why this is a good event for the players and for running aces you because again it exposes the players to venue. Get the guy. That's a wreck player. Who's literally his his. His recreational budget is has rec. Budget might only be a hundred bucks but also he wins or he's one of the top five on monday night and now he's got a seat into eighty event emmanuel emigrant yemeni. This story you manual. I don't think even the adults who later for the free role thousand chips. We don't wanna podcast. He ends the right. One of those seven seats is a winning the to ninety for forty thousand dollars in a change his those those are the cool stories making the money maker like. Maybe i could do that too. It is yeah and it does. It gives us that it's funny. You mentioned money-making because that's exactly what this is. It's still a moneymaker dream except really in a live event you know and and i can't wait for comeback But it was a great and that's the some business perspective is shows you the value of termites and we all see it so they're still always going to be the pressure of profitability hence. Why structure ends up tightening something. How always has to give because quotes do go up. You might be a great segue into other times. That's another talk about You know what. It's very shrewd of you to think. It's not maybe a tuna obvious. Everybody connects those dots. Doesn't that you do that because as a tournament player we can't lose. You need to keep fighting for us germ but yeah i think i think I just lost my train. Were you just talking about the ray. Going up costs going up going up while at the same time making the value of events. Still good for the player. And you know it's a it's a tricky balancing act Melting at grade like. Yeah thank you for the reminder but because that is what we hear all i hear is. Wow man destructor you fast or you know. Why are they taking so much rate. Or whatever you're taking fifteen bucks off whenever you people want it all maybe do talk a little bit. How do you do that. How do you approach that with you. Know with the price range and say hundred balance. How long term. It's gonna go with how much rake. I'm going to click with you. Know how the structure is all of these account. You go so basically. I've tried to what i've tried to do. Not every house is going to be the same way. Every other other casinos may do things differently. Certainly probably do things differently. I always tried to do. When working out tournament.

"I should have my friends over this or play. Blackjack so do you guys. As part of the business. I assume with players cars and that sort of thing. Are you able to track some of that. I mean more than anecdotally where you're saying. I noticed that you know some tournament. Cash or cash games. Are you able to kind of track. That and see what kind of value players bring to the casino at large Beyond the tournaments. I actually as a matter of fact. One of the things i do is part of my behind. The scenes role is. I will take because tournament players. I have require required to use a player card deployment so and typically if you've got a player card what we've experiences that you'll use it in a live game in order to get your cops because we comp live players back some money whether it's pitcher poker they'll get some sort of back Whether it's you know you can call it rape back. Harvey wanna term it. But it's some sort of conflict goes back so most of the time they use their card. So one of the things i do is i actually will take all of my tournament entrance and then measure the amount of cash game. Play that they will play in that particular day so say for example for you steve. You played the friday morning tournament lot. That hundred dollars tournament we had You know prior to the to shut. Shutdown was a real popular tournament for we coming real retirement forest so in theory. What i would do is after that tournament's done the next week i would take every play tournament and i would run those numbers against I have a report that can show me. How much cash game play. They played every one of those players in our facility. And then i can show it to the people that matter to me. My superiors have to an them. Hey i'm getting this many hours in cash game play out of my tournament players and it's a fantastic way to correlate value to having a tournament in the building And i'll i'll i'll share with you one of the big revelations with the free role so you think of a free role and you think well how these guys get away with dumping six or seven main event seats into a freer every week and making this work and all the dealers early for two hundred three hundred people right. I mean so i've got. I've got twelve to fifteen dealers in on monday night when i don't need them. Normally i've got a tournament director and the places pell-mell for for two hours straight or three hours you know tables breaking constantly because it's a real tight structure in. It's just nuts. So how does how does something like that work for. Its profitability wise. And i was able to show that we were gaining an average of about three hundred hours of game play every.

two hundred twelve six two hours monday night friday morning three hours next week hundred dollars about three hundred hours Harvey Blackjack fifteen dealers one seven main event seats three hundred people steve One of the things every

"Cook over the road. Truckers are offering these huge bonuses. It's really really difficult. And so yeah. I mean how are you sort of tag trying to tackle that challenge you know in the midst of this. The situation where it's it's tough to get anybody to tacoma take that job while it's interesting Bonuses we are we have posting right now for for and we actually bought to take it down We were hiring support staff in the poker chip runners and forty mm host the people who check people in And we are offering a bonus as well twenty five hundred dollar bonus and it's the first we've ever done that. Which tells you about the environment that we're in. It's it's significant and what we've done and and i know our again. Our competitor now mentioned him. Canterbury has done the same thing now. We're running poker classes where we teach people how to deal poker. Many years ago. I was fortunate enough not have too many years ago. It was a very common thing that if you wanted to get into the industry now you hear that to know somebody or the more likely avenue going to be. You're going to pay to attend a school and it was significant amount of money that you paid to attend a class. Somebody would teach you how to deal poker and this was not as was not insignificant money. And you weren't even necessarily guaranteed auditions or guarantee jobs or anything and the pendulum is really swan. And now we're having. We're finding out that we're having to get very creative people in and you know i. I don't think anything is off the table going forward when it comes to staffing up our building in. Maybe you never know we may be offering signing bonuses for polka dealers at some of the nature of any business rates. Is evan flow and dynamics changed and i think the general population has been a business owner. Hasn't been a business leader doesn't really understand that we run into a situation where you know poker players. Maybe haven't been in that situation. Don't really get. Why is it so hard to get dealers. Why is it you know. Why can't we have forty minute levels on a fifty dollar tournament with no rape. I don't understand why this is so hard. Like what buddy does that as garage all the time. They're not thinking about the business poker's. Let's wanted to have you on so i want a little bit. But let's let's start one. You know kinda weirdos. Poker fit into the landscape casino profitability. I know that you know running Is different from any from every casino. There everybody's different but you guys. Have harness racing of chemo games video bokhary of life boker. You know which is cash in tournaments so huck a little bit above where does whereas tournament poker specifically sit into the profitability matrix will of a casino ho. How big of a piece of that is that i'm gonna use. I'll use everything. I'm going to talk about. We'll be kind of pre pandemic so pre covid you know because that is also ultimately our goal is to be in that kind of an operation again. Let oversold division. Yeah that's our vision and you know so you know given where we're at right now obviously tournament poker isn't fitting a lot in for us right now so prior to the pandemic You know for for running a ss specifically and i know others might be a little bit different running aces for lack of a better number hulkah- representative about maybe ten to fifteen percent of our total gaming revenue..

So good that Governor Baker would like to keep them around for a few months after the end of the state of emergency for the Commonwealth, one of them has to do with remote meetings for the past year if you wanted to see your local city Council or select board. In action. You could do that easily at home. Just watch zoom. That's where the public meetings have been. Well. The governor filed legislation that calls on that to continue all summer, another thing that has sprouted up outdoor dining. How I Cold Emailed My Way Onto 27 of the Top Sales Podcasts

"One of the big challenges we have sales people is really building social proof in utilizing correctly to either get a meeting with an important prospect or to close a deal in a lot of US including ourselves up until very recently because we've made a big push to get podcast and really increase increase social proof are in a position where maybe very few people in your industry no of you so into reaching out to a prospect that may have never heard of you before they may have heard of your company but they're not quite sure who you you are and hopping sales call with a prospect especially as it can be. Kinda tough if they've never heard of you prior to you sending a cold email to them Andy Mandarin. We're GONNA have any relevant case studies for their industry. One of the ways that we overcame this challenge was for prospecting was making a really big push to hop on on more podcasts specifically sales to podcasts and if you're wondering we'll hate jason run a business. How is this going to help me sales people you can hop on podcasts as well-made. Scott's podcast podcast where he interviews top one percent sales people is a really good example of that and if you're in sales getting on a podcast of being able to share that interview especially really if you're talking about something maybe not sales related and more about something in your industry can really bring in some credible industry expertise as well and it's a really great wave for prospects to learn about you that are proactive about finding solutions to the problems but also as something that you can share in a follow up after a sales call so that they can listen to you it again. It's social proof the here you WANNA platform so it's a really good way to offer extra value and get in front of people that may or may not have heard view before so let we tell you a quick story because we've read a big Lincoln Post on this. That's linked in the show notes. I definitely recommend you check out but we were able to get on twenty seven of the top sales podcast in in the last eight months and I got on all of these including Scott's for this this opportunity just through through emails so the big thing that we did when we got started and where where you want to start with this. Is You want some social proof to get on the PODCASTS. I'm GonNa talk a lot about social proof. In this episode. You want to get a couple podcasts under your belt so so that you have something to share when you reach out to these other ones so the way we started is I just asked around on our network and I knew a couple of podcasters and I said Hey can we hop up on your podcast and I'd like to talk about something. I think it'd be really valuable for your audience and I had a friend Bras and another friend list in they helped me get on their podcasts and I could been linked to those in other emails when reaching out to other ones so this is what really helped to get that initial social proof to share with bigger podcasts like you know seller dive on recently with Jeffrey Dahmer make. It Happen Mondays with John Barrows and a few other those if I didn't have social proof I wouldn't have been able to get on so step number one build that initial social proof get on some podcast uncast again. Check out that Lincoln Post. It's a really in depth guide to not only how we did it but how you can also do it as well. Step number. Two is finding podcasts so again. Scott has actually put together an awesome list on the site detailing enlisting on all the top sales podcasts. That's a great place to start and where and we'd take it. A step further other is going in and qualifying some of these. You're going to build an countless different than if you're prospecting for any other type of solution or offering is you're. GonNa come up with an account list of podcasts and you're gonNA come with qualifiers so what I recommend doing what we did was they had to have at least ten reviews on itunes a four star rating and they had to have released an episode within the last thirty days what I found out doing a lot of the sound reaches that a lot of people don't have active audiences because they don't post content consistently gently enough and if they don't have a lot of reviews that's usually an indication. There's not a lot of engagement on there. There's nothing wrong with getting on those podcasts to get started but I wouldn't make that it'd be part of your strategy. The next thing you're going to do is find the contact information and

The runoff election for Georgia's secretary of state pits. Republican state Representative Brad Robbins burger against former democratic congressman John barrow. Neither one more than fifty percent of the votes on election day at stake in the runoff the ability to reshape the state's election system, which came under a national microscope during the recent race for governor between Democrats Stacey Abrams. And Republican secretary of state now governor elect Brian Kemp Rapids burger is defended how Georgia cancelled the registrations of hundreds of thousands of voters and he says, you'll make sure only legal citizens can cast ballots.
