A Lenten Meditation on John 11:45-56 for the 5th Saturday of Lent

"The next few moments, surrender all the cares and concerns of the stay to the lord. Say slowly, from your heart, Jesus. I trust in you. You. Take over. Become aware that he is with you. Looking upon you with love. Wanting to be heard, deep within your heart. A reading from the holy gospel according to John, chapter 11 versus 45 through 56. Many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him, but some of them went to tell the pharisees what Jesus had done. Then the chief priests and pharisees called a meeting. Here is this man working all these signs, they said, and what action are we taking? If we let him go on in this way, everybody will believe in him. In the Romans will come and destroy the holy place and our nation. One of them, caiaphas, the high priest that year said. You do not seem to have grasped the situation at all. You failed to see that it is better for one man to die for the people than for the whole nation to be destroyed. He did not speak in his own person. It was as high priest that he made this prophecy that Jesus was to die for the nation, and not for the nation only, but to gather together in unity the scattered children of God. From that day they were determined to kill him. So Jesus no longer went about openly among the Jews, but left the district for a town called ephraim in the country bordering on the desert, and stayed there with his disciples. The Jewish Passover drew near, and many of the country people who had gone up to Jerusalem to purify themselves, looked out for Jesus, saying to one another as they stood about in the temple. What do you think? Will he come to the festival or not? What word made this passage come alive for you?

Kevin McCullough Weighs in on Yesterday's Indictment of Donald Trump

"My question is, what do Republicans do about this? Are there any heroic figures in the Senate willing to stand against this? Well, Senate House, wherever last night, so the indictment gets handed down at what about 5 to 6 Eastern Time, something like that. And I start getting news alerts immediately from all sources across the board left, right, middle indifferent, et cetera. And one of the things that I was impressed by was that the immediate leadership of the Republican Party, particularly those in the house, immediately made public statements immediately went on the record immediately opposed this and started saying that there would be investigations from the house. Today I have in front of me, Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg's offices response in which he is trying to tell people in the House of Representatives that they can't have the documents related to this indictment because it would present unlawful political interference in an ongoing criminal case. Talk about the irony of just that statement alone. I mean, this is ongoing political interference in or this is ongoing supposed criminal interference in a political race for the president. And we've never subjected a president and there have been those that have done bad things. There have been those that likely have broken the law to a much worse degree than a campaign finance reform statute being violated. But we've never, we've never seen this happen. We've never seen an indictment brought against a former president and to do so on the most specious grounds possible.

Kevin McCullough Reacts to the Indictment of President Trump

"Kevin. I wanted to get you on if possible to talk about what happened last night, the indictment of president Donald Trump. What is your reaction to this? What do you have to tell us? Well, I think as a news story, this has been discussed at nauseum to the degree that it could be for the last three to four weeks without any knowledge of what was going to be in the indictment. And sadly, until the indictment is unsealed by judge, we still won't know what is in the indictment, so we don't know what the charges are. We don't know what Alvin Bragg is claiming. We don't know what the grand jury is claiming. We did learn one piece of new news from some source and it appears that the case doesn't involve only stormy Daniels, but also the other woman that was involved mcdougall in those payments. And at the end of the day, Trump's position hasn't moved, he said all along. He didn't make the payments, doesn't only thing about him. Didn't know anything about him. They were put in his ledger as legal expenses, which is what I would put if I had payments that I made to lawyers, so we're kind of still at square one where we were when they leaked the word that they were going to arrest him and there was going to be an indictment, but then nothing happened for weeks. We're really no further along. It's a sealed indictment and it won't be unsealed until a judge unseals

John Zmirak Discusses His New, Powerful Stream.org Article

"The article you wrote, it's called my pronoun is legion. It is so important. I shared it as widely as I could. I want everyone to Google my pronoun is legion and share it because it is vitally important. Talk us through this article so that people can begin to understand what you're getting at. It is so important, folks. Listen up. Okay, transgenderism is on one level, a mental illness. You don't think your body matches your soul. That's really messed up. That's terrible. If that's really true. People who feel that way need help. They don't need help carving up their bodies to match what's going on in their heads. I thought of this better for yesterday. If you had a Macintosh computer, but your software was all for a PC. Would you take a screwdriver and a soldering gun and try to change your Mac into a PC so that it matched the software. Or might you decide that it was the software that needed some work? Well, that's the perfect metaphor for transgenderism. The software, what's going on in your head doesn't match the hardware, what's going on in your pants? Which is easier to change, which is less expensive, less damaging, less destructive. Well, it would be to change your thoughts. But in fact, it's illegal to do that. In California, you can lose your medical license for counseling someone who's transgender that they shouldn't have the operation.

"My Pronoun Is Legion" With John Zmirak

"Continue with John Zach, John, you wrote an article called my pronoun is legion. Yeah, I want to continue explaining this. And I want people to go to Google it. My pronoun is legion and share it everywhere. It's one of the finest things John has ever written, which is saying a heck of a lot continue. Thank you. Okay, so I'm saying is transgenderism is the ultimate culmination of the philosophy of the Marquis de Sade. It's not coherent, it's not really very intelligent. It is the fruit of demonic possession. The Marquis de Sade was clearly possessed. He wasn't just like writing pornography that got him excited. He was writing about priests, desecrating the eucharist while raping nuns and murdering children. That's the kind of spirit that it lies at the heart of the sexual revolution. These are the arguments which were taken directly from desaad. Simone de beauvoir wrote an entire book praising the Marquis de Sade before she wrote the second sex before she campaigned to legalize abortion in France. So it is a direct genealogical connection. What I'm saying is Satan as pure spirit. And as God's enemy hates us, he wants to torture and destroy us as proxies for God because he can't harm God, except to his creatures. One thing he really hates is our physical nature, our bodily nature, embodied nature as men and as women. God created man, male and female he created them. There's no mention of 47 genders. There are two.

"2023. I am Q unit and studio west. And you don't know what's in the indictment. All right, neither do I, neither do you only DA Bragg and his team knows. And I don't believe in leaks from trusted sources within the district attorney's office or friends who know the bailiff and the judge or folks that hear that Trump's turning himself in. The former president has been indicted and there are 10,000 hot takes, none of them grounded in knowledge of what's in the indictment. Now I have been teaching law students since 1995, and I have told them all a few basic lessons, like always be introducing yourself. One of them is never try and fake a judge out. In other words, if you don't know, the answer to the question that the judge asks you don't pretend to know. Everybody is pretending to know what's in the indictment. I don't know. I know this. If it's Michael Cohen plus the theory advance in the John Edwards prosecution, then prosecutor Bragg is the worst prosecutor in the United States ever. For criminalizing politics. If it's just Michael Cohen and falsified payments, that's been asked and answered before. But we don't know that. So unlike 10,000 hot takes, I'm just going to wait. I do think it's mighty odd that it's a shield indictment.

A Lenten Meditation on John 8:12-20 for the 5th Friday of Lent

"For the next few moments, surrender all the cares and concerns of the stay to the lord. Say slowly, from your heart, Jesus. I trust in you. You. Take over. Become aware that he is with you. Looking upon you with love. Wanting to be heard, deep within your heart. A reading from the holy gospel, according to John, chapter 8 verse 12 through 20. The Jews fetched stones to stone him, so Jesus said to them. I have done many good works for you to see. Works from my father, for which of these are you standing me? The Jews answered him. We are not stoning you for doing a good work, but for blasphemy. You are only a man, and you claim to be God. Jesus answered. Is it not written in your law? I said you are gods? So the law uses the word gods of those to whom the word of God was addressed, and scripture can not be rejected. Yet you say to someone the father has consecrated and sent into the world, you are blaspheming. Because he says, I am the son of God. If I am not doing my father's work, there is no need to believe me. But if I am doing it, then even if you refuse to believe in me, at least believe in the work I do. Then you will know for sure that the father is in me, and I am, in the father. They wanted to arrest him then, but he alluded them. He went back again to the far side of the Jordan to stay in the district where John had once been baptizing. Many people who came to him there said, John gave no signs, but all he said about this man was true. And many of them believed in him. What word made this passage come alive for you?

Shelley Moore capito from West Virginia, Mitt Romney from Utah. Well, you have a bill that supported by Lindsey Graham, Tom tillis and Mitt Romney. You know you're in for a beauty. The restrict act, what can we say about it? Well, first thing to know is that it's a Trojan horse type Bill. What it's being packaged as is some kind of way to counteract the nefarious foreign communist infused influence of TikTok, which is a natural cell. Everybody can get behind that. But what it actually is, is a Trojan horse. And amounts effectively, I think the best description of it that I've heard is the Patriot Act for the Internet. Even though the marketing is specifically tailored to TikTok, something that we all love to hate, the actual substance of the bill is very vague and it is no way limited to TikTok. It's vaguely constrained to technologies associated with quote unquote foreign adversaries.

Paul Kengor Unpacks the Danger of Biden's GOP Rhetoric

"War in Europe with an open border with rising inflation with a 110 thousand killed by fentanyl in the last 12 months alone. The idea that any leader of any party or an incumbent president would label half the nation as a threat to America as fascists, Paul, that never happened during the Cold War. How dangerous is this is this rhetorical flourish that we are seeing again and again and again from right inside The White House? Well, again, circle back to someone like Ronald Reagan or John F. Kennedy. They never talk that way. In fact, the president, the Reagan defeated the incumbent in 1980, Jimmy Carter never talked that way. I mean, that's over the top, 75 million people voted for Donald Trump, which is a gigantic number. And so to so to speak that way, yeah, it's outrageous and to go back to what we were talking about in the previous segment with what's going on in Ukraine with what Putin is doing. I mean, this ought to be a time for someone like Biden to try to unify the country.

Why the RESTRICT Act Is a Sweeping Assault on Americans’ Freedoms

"Have the bill. Here, the restrict act. You guys can all check it out as a citizen. S 6 8 6 for the 118th Congress restrict act. The first sentence to authorize the secretary of commerce to review and prohibit certain transactions between persons in the United States and foreign adversaries for other purposes. Now, mind you, they could pass a very clear and simple piece of legislation targeted that TikTok, but you're trying to tell me the regime is going to pass up this opportunity to create a new Patriot Act. Of course not. This is not about TikTok. This is not about TikTok. This is about being able to usher in a brand new censorship regime. So who's behind this, exactly? Lindsey Graham has his name on the bill. As a co sponsor, John thune, Republican from South Dakota. Fisher from Nebraska, Joe Manchin waste the time. Jerry Moran from Kansas. Sullivan from Alaska, Susan Collins from Maine, of course Mitt Romney, Shelley Moore capito, from West Virginia, introduced the bill. Have they actually read the bill? Are they or is this just rep by, is this composed and basically put together by lobbyists? And if you know how legislation works, you know that K street lawyers, the DHS, lawfare types, working for the alliance of U.S. tech and deep state interests, probably wrote this restrict act. This is a written written by Google and written by Facebook and written by congressional staffers.

The Vile, No Good, Rotten RESTRICT Act

"So this bill is literally called the restrict act. And it is so vaguely written that it can be basically used to shut down any social media app. That you don't like. So for example, telegram, telegram is a communication application, a lot of people get news and information from telegram as well. The government doesn't like telegram because they can't control it. The regime hates telegram. Telegram was founded by two Russians, so you could imagine that the commerce secretary banning telegram because they say, look, it founded by Russians, the restrict act would have total ability and freedom, not freedom, the capacity capability for the government to be able to stamp them out. But if you look even further ahead, there's basically zero limitations on who the secretary of commerce could declare a foreign adversary or what they could do and what they can end up banning it. Now, you might say, well, Charlie, this bill has no chance of passing. You are no, no. This is being pushed by Republicans and Democrats. John thune from South Dakota is one of the big chief sponsors of this.

Why the RESTRICT Act Is a Dangerous Patriot Act for the Internet

"I'm continuing my discussion of TikTok. The Chinese run app, very popular in America, very popular in other places in the world, popular also in China, although restricted in China, and there's an attempt to restrict or block TikTok in the United States. This is the so called restrict act. And the restrict act is being promoted as the remedy for TikTok, the bill, by the way, sponsored in the Senate by Mark Warner and John Boone. So this is really the establishment wings of both the Republican and the Democratic Party. And when you look at this restrict act, it sends a chill down your spine. Why? Because it's a remedy that is far worse than the disease. You might think that this is a bill to ban TikTok. And in fact, Josh hawley, I think thought it was exactly that. Josh hawley has been crusading for banning TikTok, and then it seems he finally read the restrict act and he goes, I'm not quoting him. The problem with the restrict act is it doesn't bang TikTok. It gives the president a whole bunch of new authority and it does nothing to stop the CCP just ban TikTok. So seemingly haul he's saying I would prefer a different law that is narrowly tailored to TikTok. But I want to focus on this restrict act because of how creepy it really is. It is an act that defers an enormous amount of authority to the executive branch and think of how little we can trust the executive branch. We're talking here about Joe Biden himself, and we're talking about his natural security adviser, Jake Sullivan, and we're talking about his secretary of commerce. So this is basically a baleful, untrustworthy crew. And what are they given the authority to do? It turns out they're given the authority to make a kind of national security assessment of, you guessed it all of social media.

"Good morning. Good morning, Karen, southwest is trying to recover from one of the worst hairline meltdowns in U.S. history. Passengers are still stranded all over the country. Another 2300 Southwest flights been canceled for today. The U.S. and Italy joined an increasing number of nations requiring COVID tests for travelers from China. Concerns are mounting over the risk of any new variants emerging from the surge of infections in the country. In the NBA, the nets won their tenth straight, the wizards and warriors won, in the NHL, the bruins beat the devil's three one. Global news, 24 hours a day on air and on Bloomberg quicktake powered by more than 2700 journalists and analysts, more than a 120 countries, Michael Barr, this is Bloomberg John. All right, Michael, thank you 5 23 odd Wall Street. I'm John sucker. This is Bloomberg daybreak. Let's pick up on that headline Michael just to mention the U.S. and Italy joining an increasing number of nations requiring COVID tests for travelers from China. Let's take a deeper dive, head to Shanghai this morning, and that's where we find Bloomberg's Allan one Allen always a pleasure. What's the latest? What countries are imposing what kind of restrictions? Yes, you just mentioned that the main ones are the U.S. and Italy. And in the U.S. in lieu of tests, the U.S. said that passengers passengers travelers can provide documentation of recovery from COVID or they have tested positive more incentives early. So don't necessarily have to be negative PCR test results. The requirement also requires that all passengers have to undergo this process regardless of nationality or vaccination status. U.S. health officials are concerned basically about China's lack of transparency around case data. Saying that the high number of people hired a number of people affected over a very short period of time. Raise the chance of a new variant emerging. On the fourth part, China said that if there are any new variants, it's going to report it to the World Health Organization. And a global consortium that tracks all the stuff, tracks the pandemic. So so far, there aren't any signs of any significant new mutations. Emerging. And why we've seen in China has been circling around the world so far. The vaccines that were available in China. And I think you got one. Are they effective? I mean, they're just or not. Well, I don't think about it. There's always that concern, even among the Chinese. I mean, I hear about mainland Chinese saying that you want to go to Macau or Hong Kong to get the mRNA vaccine. From my perspective, I've had two Chinese shots, the final form. Which are who approved. And then I got a booster. Pfizer booster a year ago when I was in New York. And I contracted COVID and I was symptomatic. I had no symptoms. So it's hard for me to say that Chinese vaccines are less effective. Just because I myself have been able to withstand the worst of it But there's always a concern and that's why China is coming out with and now inhabit vaccine. It's going to allow foreigners to get the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine here in China as well. From the markets perspective is the China reopening a good thing because, well, they're back in the game, the world's second largest economy, or is it a bad thing? Because maybe COVID is going to spread, maybe variants. Are there going to be new variants emerging? So far, like I said, global consortium of the tracks all this stuff. And they're watching really carefully. It doesn't what they do. They say, so far, earnings is A-okay. Bob said, there's always going to be the concern just because the fact that the spread in China has been so rapid. So sudden that there's always that possibility, but I think as far as investors are concerned, right now, it's more of a wait and see approach. Just because we have the Chinese New Year approaching and we're going to have a lot more infections and deaths in the next few weeks. And then from there, we'll the outbreak's peak. Today, the China CDC said that the outbreaks are peaking in Beijing. Chengdu and Tianjin, but it's still pretty serious in Shanghai. There are speaking, some major important cities. We're still not where we need to be. From Shanghai, this morning, Bloomberg's Alan Juan Allen, stay healthy. We appreciate it. And we checked the markets to end three 15 minutes during the trade today right here on Bloomberg radio. I'm John Tucker. That is your Bloomberg business flash. Tom and Paul. Jen Tucker, thank you so much. Right to a Tina Davis joins us now driving all of our legal coverage as well in the course of the shock of all of this nation, Republicans, Democrats and independents alike over a search by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the residence of a former president in Mar-a-Lago and president Trump Tina, good morning. I've seen the different efforts out there. And what I find absolutely fascinating is what is next for the attorney general. Anybody including Ian milhas are over at vox make clear that the process of what attorney generals do when they want to do something as dramatic as this has been a path from a holder and even before through attorney general Barr and now out to attorney general Garland. What is next for attorney general Garland after a search warrant affected by the FBI? Well, I mean, look, I think you've talked about the path here, but Merrick Garland is dealing with this incredibly unprecedented. You can't sort of use that term in a more unique way than in this one. There's never been a search of a former president's residence. There's never been a search warrant issue to a president even Richard Nixon complied with subpoenas. There was no elevating that to research warrants. So Merrick Garland is in very unique territory. And I think what you're seeing now is the first sort of real manifestations that we have seen aside from people going in and out of grand jury rooms in Washington D.C.. This is the first real manifestation of the potential for charges for criminal charges to be brought against a former president of the United States. So he's a new waters. You know, what I think is interesting is this was an FBI. This is an FBI that's being led by a Trump appointee, Christopher wray. So we have seen conservatives and certainly Trump himself say that this is the weaponization of the DoJ, but if it is, it's certainly a unique way of handling it from an FBI director who was appointed by a Republican. And Tina, give us just a sense of what it takes to get a search warrant for anyone's residents much less a former president. I mean, I can't imagine judges hand these out Willy nilly. There's got to be some serious I guess evidence suggesting that it is warranted. Yeah, so the search warrant has to be issued by a federal judge. So we know that the FBI or the FBI agents had to fill out essentially an affidavit saying that they believe that there is evidence of a specific crime that can be found on these premises. The judge does not have to have found that there was probable cause that a crime was committed or that a specific person committed the crime at this stage in the investigation, but it is not a light hurdle to overcome and certainly federal judges don't take these actions lightly. So there was a sign off that happened by a judge. We also suspect I think it's pretty likely that Merrick Garland himself probably knew about this warrant and had to sign off on it as well. Do we think The White House knew about it? I mean, they're claiming they knew nothing about it, but you know, what's our reporting on that? No, The White House is saying that they did not know in advance that anything was happening that this information was held by DoJ that they were informed after the fact it is pretty likely that the Secret Service that's surrounds former president Trump would have been advised that this was about to happen. So, you know, obviously you don't go into a place where someone is, you know, which is usually guarded by a harm folks without giving them a little bit of notice. But no, The White House is telling us they had no prior knowledge. What does Greg store say about this in the Supreme Court? I mean, really does it get, does it get rapidly to some adjudication of appeals courts or Supreme Court? I mean, if they bring charges at this point, you're not going to see them challenge a search warrant that what's done is done. I think one of the more interesting questions that we've been grappling with is this is ostensibly being done to look at this the idea that Trump potentially removed classified documents from The White House when he shouldn't have. But if there is other evidence that is visible and during this search, does that get sort of pulled in if there's a note in a box that's labeled missing White House documents, there is an argument to be made that that can be gathered up as part of the process. And that, I think, will, you know, if any of that comes to comes to pass, that will be challenged. Tina, thank you so much, Tina Davis, with Bloomberg news. This morning, as we summarize what we've seen, I know. Mental block here. We've got some workout on Bloomberg opinion on this. Right now. But Paul, just the word that she said there that's so true, the absolute shock that this has happened. Yeah, it's unprecedented. Anybody's beliefs. And as you would expect, Tom, Tim O'Brien, Bloomberg opinion columnist, who has a very long relationship and history with president Trump is out with an opinion piece today saying Trump's search should just be an opening act. So that's on the Bloomberg terminal and again, Tim O'Brien has a long history with can't say enough about balance of

"Bloomberg sports, John. All right, thanks, John, and just stay out of the cash open Wall Street. Down futures right now. They're up 67 points. The S&P even the futures up about 8 points and the NASDAQ futures 12 points higher and as we look at the two year yield three 21, the ten year two 78. This is Bloomberg debris. I was in the middle of the general insurance presents shower ballads by Shaq. 'cause it's the only thing I wanna do. Turns out everyone does some better in the shower. And it turns out, the general is a quality insurance company that's been saving people money for nearly 60 years. For a great low rate in nearly 60 years of quality coverage, make the right call and go with the general. There was a sudden jolt and our submarine crashed on the sea floor. We were in total darkness. That's doctor Dijon figueroa, a marine biologist, and stem teacher, talking about a deep sea dive she'll never forget. It's funny. When I was a kid, I was afraid of the ocean, and there I was, two miles below the surface. But as a scientist, you prepare for that. Using our training in a little creativity, we fix this up and finish our experiments. The dive was just too important. Every dive gives us glimpses at things few people ever get to see. Blowing creatures, fiery undersea volcanos. When we got back to the surface, I kissed the ground and called my mom, of course. But you know what? I wouldn't trade that die for anything

four times a year we're told a version of the device was demonstrated during the latest gathering And that's a Bloomberg and JIT stem report John All right Karen we are live from the Bloomberg interview hacked a broker's studios where it is now 6 50 on Wall Street Time to check what's going on in D.C. some of the top stories in the nation's capital include of course President Biden in Asia for the first time as commander in chief The fallout from this week's primary contest setting the stage for the battle in November the Senate passing at $40 billion bill for aid to Ukraine Let's take a deeper dive as some of these stories this morning with Wendy schiller director of Brown university's taubman center for American politics and policy Wendy thanks for being with us this morning Happy Friday In fact President Biden speaking right now he's in South Korea to giant chip factory And I got to ask you just from the political perspective how does this play at home And does it really matter Well John I mean I think having the president travel and represent the United States globally usually is a plus for the United States but also for Biden because of course with COVID and lots of other reasons I'm restricting his travel and interaction with Americans Not getting out for Biden is a real disadvantage Because you know he sometimes he's on his game when he gives a speech or a press conference someone he's not so coherent So having him look good traveling abroad counters some of those images that we have of the president or sort of allegations that he's not up to the job Earlier just a personal anecdote was talking about shopping The gas tank was I think it was like 65 bucks this morning the grocery store was a 180 bucks It didn't get all that much yesterday There are big concerns on the domestic front Yeah I mean an economy like this where we have relatively low unemployment typically is good for Democrats Democrats typically their constituencies worry more about jobs and unemployment and Republicans used to be sort of the wealthier and they worry much more about inflation in terms of the degradation of their assets and investments But now these things are all demographically mixed now in terms of allegiances or Republicans are getting more lower income voters and the Democrats are getting more higher income voters So it's flipping the script that we've been used to for politics and a lot more people who typically go for the Democrats or would be voting for the Democrats in November are very concerned about mounting the economy which is a global in nature Nothing showed us more than that than the COVID pandemic And we're not used to that idea where you said the president can control the economy but there are a lot of things outside his control So again Americans have to kind of reset how they evaluate the president and the economy and that's going to come too late I think for the Democrats and Biden this November Still looking at the fallout from the primary contest setting the stage for November's general election the congressional elections your assessment a few days out Well the prime minister really interesting you know Pennsylvania is incredibly important Obviously not just for the primaries but for the presidential election in 24 So the Senate race is important but the governor's race is very important The Democrats have held the governor's seat in Pennsylvania And if that's flipped particularly with the candidate that won the primary who seems to be fairly extreme right very loyal to Trump but also wants to sort of unregister lots of voters and redo elections and is willing to change the outcome of the election supposedly That makes a huge difference going into 24 and also for our security and election So it matters I think for the system for the country as much in the governors outcome as it does for whatever ultimately happens in the Senate primary What's interesting is that a lot of people in the Republican Party voted A lot of Republicans get out the door slightly more than the Democrats That's got to worry the Democrats even though the contests were a little bit more publicized And then you have to think to yourself is it really a split in the Republican Party Because that's what we always think but Republicans come together and unite when it comes down to their elections general election in ways that Democrats don't So I'm not reading into this division as if it's some signal that the Republicans will stay divided by the time you get to November You were talking about Doug mastery on the Republican pick for governor's race in Pennsylvania Does that mean the race now becomes a toss up Yeah I.

"I guess what we're going to end up doing Dave and John is kind of a play by play through the city as we walk from here to Wrigley Field, right? Well, I think we should, right. But But, John, you may want to do some of your show, so I don't We don't want to pick up all your time. Let go Step by step will go. Maybe block by block all my miles. Something like that. Yeah, well, there's only about 36 blocks up to Addison. So that'll be a good show, then. Yeah. Good luck to you getting anything else accomplished today, but actually got a good looking group. I'm looking at some very good legs here right now, including Dave. And it's my the only one wearing long pass. You are, but the rest of us. Most of you all have good sneakers on and we've got lots of legs ready to roll. We're gonna walk for about an hour. We'll take a pit stop them. We're going to finish our journey to Wrigley. We'll go up to one of the rooftops will have some snacks and sodas and sandwiches, and everybody's got their souvenir T shirts. John, Is this your history to where? When the station plant something like this? It rains? Yeah, right. We were talking about that a couple weeks ago. He said you never know what you get on September 10th and boy you guys lucked out. It's a beautiful day. It just really is. The sun is shining. We've got blue skies downtown and you know, and, you know, I'm a big advocate for come to the city come downtown play in Chicago. And so this would be nice. I'll actually be able to kind of give our listeners a little bit of a foot. I view of what downtown is like as we stroll through part of the city. Are you going to race Dave in the last couple blocks sprint for the last few? Let me have the phone today benefit that you can ask him the question again. Dave. Are you going to the question? Are you going to race John in the last couple of blocks like once you see the ballpark Sprint and put on a show for us? Oh, now, that's so. So. The suggestion is that we race the last couple blocks. Yeah, I want to. I want to hear who finishes first, and I will say I'm wearing shorts. He's wearing long pants so I would have an advantage there, Okay? He'd faced resistance, right? Fabric resistance, You know, but Right. They will have to get separate. Yeah, for sure. Alright. Go. My money's on Dave Bennett, Okay? Thank you, John. I appreciate that. Here's John. All right. It's a really stupid idea. We're not going to do that to say, you know. Well, good. Well, enjoy the walk of gorgeous day and we'll be checking with you the whole time, my friend. I'll talk to you later, my friend so long that sponsored by athletic or physical therapy. Don't live with aches and pains any longer. Visit your local athletic all no prescription needed. Hey, um, I used to give this will be no surprise to anyone that listens. I used to give the student announcements. Uh, Downers Grove South High school when I was a senior every Tuesday and Friday. Never get one day I walked into the Dean's office where the announcements were red. And normally there were deans and office assistance. And one day I walked in, and no one was at their desks. And I thought that was confusing. I turned the corner to the microphone where I give the announcements and the principal was standing there and he said, John, you won't be giving the announcements. Today. I have to make an announcement to the school instead. And that's my first memory of September 11 2000 and one. I know it's sometimes painful to talk about, but I think there is a collective grief that we all share many of us a little bit more profound than others. I'd love to hear where you were. We've got a lot of text on the line, too. Call in 312981 72 100 of what? You remember that morning nearly 20 years ago today after this W If.

CBS News Special Report I'm Steve Futterman, a bitter dispute erupted on the floor of the Pennsylvania Senate today, Majority Republicans blocked a Democratic incumbent from being sworn in. It's because his GOP challenger has disputed the razor thin election results. Lawmakers were back in the capital for swearing in day when the Senate quickly dissolved into chaos over the Republican challenge. The Democrats called a reflection of President Trump's unprecedented efforts to undo his loss in the November 3rd election. Pennsylvania Republicans have not said how long they will take to review the election challenge before voting on it or how long the GOP majority is willing to leave that seat vacant. It's 10 22. Dr.
