"On, man? How are you this week? Doing well, Coast back in studio for this always feel like a little bit of a different vibe here. Like I said, When you get bad takes, I can be visibly and audibly upset. And when I say something that doesn't make sense, you can basically tell me to go shut the F up like Johann Oviedo told Mikey Stransky this week. Pretty good We should make Don't we are record. In this Thursday morning, July, the eighth the morning after the the Shut the F Up, heard around the world as what they're calling it in the baseball world kind of a crazy game. As far as that was concerned, I always fear Like waking up and opposing team's dugout waking up in opposing team's offense. It's kind of like back in the day and you never see anymore. Manager Just don't get ejected anymore just doesn't happen because they come out of the argue balls and strikes and they just immediately get tossed. Or there's instant replay. So there's no reason to argue anything nowadays, so just kind of ridiculous, But in that moment, the Giants offense hadn't been like blowing up or anything. Jastremski smokes of all 400 ft off the wall for a double, and the other rookie Johan who Oviedo who had a really tough time finding the strike zone. Was like, really? Don't know, beside himself at the fact that maybe the Giants offense we're stealing signs, which my first thought is. I don't really care if they're stealing signs. If they're doing it on the field, you're not using some device to do it totally within the bounds of baseball. As far as I'm concerned, Yeah, I mean the paranoia. According to Mikey Stransky was off the charts because when he was on the mountain or when he was on second base in the first inning, remember Oviedo couldn't find the strike zone. I think he walked to allowed a single gotten a bases loaded No one out situation. Ostrovsky was standing on second base, and he said the Cardinals change signs three times in the first inning. This is a rookie pitcher who's already struggling to find the strike zone. If you're having to change signs three times, it's kind of pathetic. It is kind of pathetic it and there was a couple of times early in the game where you saw Oviedo telling the catcher he was like throwing up to two. Let's go with the second set of signs. Let's go with the first citizen is hard pulling up the car. This is where I wanted to get the Bs card. I Actually, and I'll be honest about this. I've got no issue and I know that people don't like to see it. I got no problem with like Brandon Crawford or Evan Longoria or somebody there holding the card or or a left fielder. I've seen do it a whole bunch saying I saw Jesse Winker earlier this year I was sitting in the bleachers for Reds game and he would look at the car and I thought it was sort of funny because He checked the card, and then he took like four steps to his left. And I'm like, Did we really need the card to tell you to do that? Back in the day? The the bench coach or whoever the outfield coach was would direct you just where to stand. And now they check the cards. It doesn't bother me that a catcher has the quarterback place leave. It doesn't And I know Buster Posey doesn't like it. My point is as a fan visually, that doesn't irritate me. The pictures should not have a card on his person. The pictures should not be out there checking a card. At one point, they go out for a mound visit when it's a 12 count to Brandon Crawford in that ballgame, and Oviedo's like checking a card while he's talking to the catcher. I get you're trying to figure out signs and all this, But this is this is part of the mental game of baseball. A picture needs to be out there on the island by himself, trying to figure this thing out, checking a card in between hitters to change signs to me. That eliminates the point of even counting mound visits. Then what's the point of having these mound visits over policing? To me? It's a really little league move. It's something you see in like travel ball 12 year olds like I can see Murph having cards for his picture. I can see Murph you know, out in the Marine Little League, you know, putting, you know, set in little Johnny to the mound with a card because Johnny's forgetting the signs all the time. When you're Johan Oviedo, and you're in the major leagues and you're using a card come on, and this is not to single out Johan Oviedo. This is to make a greater point about get the Hard off the mound in Major league baseball. It's fine and Little League high school. I would still take exception to beyond that, you know, just get it out of the game when the College World Series I recall a couple of weeks ago, guys had this live the catcher sleeve always been harmed. You can't checking your plate. This is what I'm talking to you. How do you draft a catcher who's known for his game calling when he's checking a card looking to the dugout? Every pitch? Well, I understand, like teaching a guy how to call a game. I understand the catcher sometimes take longer because they have to understand the process of that. I also get Buster Posey. Saying, What divides me or makes him elite relative to a catcher who's maybe borderline is his ability to no hitters, his ability to set up hitters to get through and it bad to manage a line up the third time through when you've got the same starting pitcher out there on the mound. He used to be really evident to me with guys like Tim Lincecum, who would not empty their arsenal the first time through the lineup Now the game was being played differently in 2000 and 89 10, obviously from where it is right now, But you used to see things like okay when I was going to get through the whole first couple of innings first time through the lineup, and he Not going to throw a slider or curveball. He's gonna throw the split finger fastball. He's going to throw the high hard fastball and then second time three. You'd see him start with that. Get it over curveball, and now guys have to look for it. And that was all part of like the the managing of the game of Buster Posey. I thought the ability to call again to get through a perfect game with Matt Cain. The reason he's been behind the plate for so many huge moments like that. You totally eliminate that element of the game. And that mental aspect of the game when the pictures out there with a card in his hat. Yeah, I hate it. I hate every element of it is Terrible get it out of the game. And you do make the good point about Buster Posey and his ability to read hit or something that I learned this week was Buster Posey, more so than other catchers spends the time between be pitcher catching the ball on the mound and actually getting ready to throw the pitch sizing up the hitter in the batter's box, seeing if they've tweaked their foot seeing if they tweet their stance, See if they're holding the bat any differently. He does that more than any other catcher, And you can't do that. If you're holding a card and looking into the dugout, it just it ruins the game. Incredible. Did he say that to you? Or did you? Did you ask him, But at least I was reporting the story about Buster Posey for the All Star game and what it's actually already out on mercury news dot com in this anecdote didn't make the story so great reporter I am Yeah, Carla, clearly an interesting anecdote that you as a baseball fan like and I just totally left. Tell me more about that. You're like, no, There's nothing there. I can't. I didn't put it in the story. So you're not going to be reading it on mercury news dot com Any time soon, But a few people mentioned to me like the way that he studies hitters is very different than the traditional catcher. "It just seems like maybe give him through the break and Who knows if he winds up playing in the game, Maybe you get the pinch hit or something in the game rather than catching. I think that would certainly be the Giants. Preference. Um, but, yeah, you could be to be looking at not playing this weekend or and potentially not playing in that game. And it damages the team. I mean, you know the the Casali Trump. God bless him. It's not the same. Um, you know, this is a guy who's just been a vital part. Susan. It's hard to think of the team. Doing this? Well, when you literally say Evan Longoria, Brandon Belt and Buster Posey are out. Those are three gigantic names, and here they are. Yeah, I have thought with every significant injury like okay, This is probably the one. You know that that maybe is the last straw. But they just keep finding a way to keep winning. The depth pieces are tremendous now. When you start losing the depth pieces to LaMonte Wade, you know, leave the other day with a bruised hands are straight hands Strain which has not heard before. I don't know what you know what really was going on there that that apparently happened in a second at that, Um, you know, they can't afford to lose the depth pieces who are being so good filling in for the big, big name, guys so That's the biggest key for them and every team, obviously as health, but really, they have got to start getting some of these guys off the aisle and then keep them off the aisle. Yeah. Okay, well, it's been nutty and they get going and Lamont way to. It certainly is not another one to add. I mean, it was silly, you know, to basically accused of guys feeling time when you've already changed your signs three or four times, and you just pulled out the card out of your pocket to check to see what the signs are. Like. If you don't know what the sides are, I'm guessing that gets Rimsky does not know what the signs are. You know it's a good call. Yeah, yeah. But it's risky. Had fun with it afterwards. He was like, Yeah. Hey, you know what? I wasn't. But if he thinks that great, you know, we want to kind of get in their heads. And he said, listen and entertainment. You know, I'll put on a little bit of a show, so I I love that He had a little bit of fun with it. I think it did kind of get in over his head turned around and yelled him recently setting was a little surprised that that but yes, he copter to maybe playing it up a little bit as he should. And it could, and it could, uh, spill into next week in ST Louis. We'll have some fun following that story. Why not? Because Susan he got him one phone call when he left Philadelphia, right, one phone call. This is not a guy in demand. And then you got a lot of criticism and static when he got hired here too. And, Yeah, well, you guys know. Yeah. Hello. Local media was not super on board with a choice. The local fan base was really not on board with a choice. He was controversial, and, uh, Farhaan stuck his neck out. No doubt hiring Gabe Kapler. He has been great. Uh, and one of the things I like that, he said yesterday. Was how much more open minded he is. You know, when he was in Philly, it was a little bit. Uh, you know if this is what I think you know, not quite my way, the highway, but you know if he was set on something, that's so it was going to be, and now she listens to all ideas, and that's you know, Scott Harris said the same thing you know, he's when there were issues. He listened to a wide range of opinions and kind of figure things out made adjustment. That's what a good manager does. Yeah, he it's four, Hunt said, Uh guys who do their second go round can be different and better, And it sounds like he learned from his experience. Everybody was like, No, We don't want to hear that. No and four Hun Just God, man. He's just been. I talked to an executive Susan, who said That he shared the concerns about Kapler. And he said, Well, you know, capital has to be X Bed X amount better than these other guys that Joe Girardi's in the Joe Maddon's who are out there. And for him was like, Yeah, I know that. So it's interesting that, you know. Yeah, yeah, that's true. Look at all those records. Yeah, You know, there's no better place. I think really that Philly for a first shot because it's the worst place. Uh, Carrie Francona had stories about going out to the lock, secured players lot and finding his entire slash with music manager and that was his first job and look what he's done, You know, and that's the that's a trial by fire. You come out stronger. You come out. Hopefully, figure skins, uh, and, uh, you kind of gotta, but I think it's a good It's kind of a good proving ground. You know, that's a tough town. Even if you're winning if you're not waiting Man. Oh, man, I thought the the Sixers just went through. They were the number one seed in all of the Eastern Conference in basketball. Susan and they underperformed and their fans were clobbering them during the postseason. They were just crushing them, booing them off the floor at halftime and stuff. You're right. It's It's a tough town, man. Yeah, well, I mean, except for the static, he got That first week. Everything about him is way more West Coast San Francisco Bay area than Philly. So it's for sure a much better place for regard. Yeah, absolutely. And I'll say this every time during the pandemic. We at the junior giants, uh, you know, we asked for help to do these virtual Clinics and Gabe and Chi Korea and Alice Anakin and Andrew Bailey and all those guys. They all did it at Gabes. He's like, Yeah, guys do this for the junior giants. It was awesome, so I always Be thankful for him for that. So, um And, uh oh, by the way, they have the best record in baseball that absolutely yes, There's that little thing. All right, Susan. Well, at the very least, we'll see you next Friday. "Well, wear them all out, right? We always laugh about that. Right? Well, the nationals kind of did that for you. Last night. They they blew an eight point lead in San Diego. Mike. I got him using one. Finnegan swear over both Hudson and clay all out of the bullpen, And they kind of limp into San Francisco after a brutal loss, How we like it. That's how we like it. Right, Mike. They had an eight. Nothing lead with Sures are on the mountain, right? Yeah. That game was over Those victories that's hung in the standings, man, and you let that thing slide. I guarantee there wasn't a people that they're playing coming from San Diego to San Francisco, So yeah, absolutely. That's how you want to. You want your bullpen down, dedicate up close to five innings. And through a lot of pictures, so and you know what? There was high leverage guys to wasn't like you're throwing in. You know, a couple of your guys that you know that you're not going to see it in leverage spots this weekend, so Yeah, it totally unfolded in a good way. However, it would have been better if they would have beaten the Padres. Yeah, right. Exactly. And the ideal thing. How about this story about this guy? If you can relate to this guy camera, Raina was his name Camarena. You know, I confess I didn't know much about the young man had just been called up from their Triple a affiliate. And he's got to come in and mop up for you. Darvish, who has made a mess means Darvish insurers. Everything is gonna be one of the great duels of the night. But no, uh, Charlie put this guy in number 72. He's from San Diego Cathedral Catholic High School, making his major league debut and Mike they send them up to hit against sharing her with the bases loaded. Got hit your grand Slam. Mike, This is one of the all time stories I mean, pretty awesome for you as an old picture. You must have had a little little smile, huh? Oh, of course, and it totally energized the Padres because they bought into the story too. I mean, that's the beauty of baseball. You don't know where you're going to get your energy. And when it comes in a form of relief for making his first big league at bat hits a grand Slam off, Scherzer. Oh, God! Stop! I mean, come on you You couldn't write that nobody would believe that. And yet it happened. And in regards to, uh Darvish and shares are 13 runs. The two of those guys gave in no sticky stuff. Yeah, maybe because it's that's another thing. I wouldn't believe if you wrote it. Not the way those guys throw. No ridiculous, But, hey, that's baseball. And that's why we love it. Fun stuff a couple of things to talk about before we kind of, you know, get us ready for the weekend is we haven't talked to you since the Wednesday night game. When? When Mikey Stransky And the rookie for the Cardinals. Johan Oviedo had a little back and forth There is some sure Yeah, and, of course, Mike. It's the Giants in the Cardinal's We love seeing those old uniforms entangle wonder if you had a Opinion, get kept looking at a card in his back pocket to it's like, Come on, man. What's going on here? But what do you think of the? Yes, Oviedo chirping. Will massive paranoia the whole series with the Cardinals in regards to science dealing with a guy second. I mean, I bought it looked receipt teams every day. They're out there and they're changing signs. Yeah, okay, that get it, But they were. There was one time they They change signs six times in the first two innings of the game, And they say, Well, that's ridiculous. But that just gives you an idea As to how much paranoid there is. And so hey, if you're if you're a player, you want to try and enhance the paranoia. So you start doing little things so you know, kind of like touching your nose or, like, you know, taking a little shut the two little stutter steps going to your rider, A little stutter Step going to your left. You're looking left their life and there's 1000 different ways You can really Location, or, you know, a sign from second base. And so that's what your strips he was doing. He was just kind of going with the moment. Um did he have the science? Well, maybe, but not 100%. He was getting in that kid's head, though. I mean, you know Oviedo. I mean, he's he's a rookie. And it any. He definitely fell victim to a, uh, A, uh, the veteran messing with him. So you know, did it did it? Affect his concentration. Absolutely it did. But when he starts young at a veteran like that Number one. Everybody in the Giants dugout takes notice and start snuggling up to the front of the of the dugout. Pay attention, and it gets quiet. And the same thing happens over in the Cardinals dugout now And when a rookie does that, Okay, I'm sorry. You can do that. But let's see how you handle it. Does that enhance your performance? Or does it set you back? Did that veteran just get inside your head? Did he get between your ears? How do you handle it? So it was agreed Interesting moment, but They also had later and I think it was just, uh in your strength is next at that. There was a play where he had a ground ball and he was coming to first base and there was Oviedo right there in front of them. And I'm thinking this could happen. And it did end up being a big nothing except extent. Except Jastremski showed. You know that I've been around a bit longer. This kid and I can get his head. Yeah. Which Mike? "Another handful of games back into the schedule out of the break. I'm looking at three off days and like the first 12345 weeks, four off days in the first six weeks, they're getting about one off day weekend. Over the last couple of weeks, they've had a couple. At times they've had, like two within a five day span or to within a three day span like we saw a couple of weeks ago leave in Anaheim, even even last week. Uh, just a one day off last week anyway more from Alex Woodier talking about battling against those two guys, Aaron, Otto and Goldsman, who, by the way, getting the double play Tyler Rogers getting that double play in the eighth inning. Absolutely huge. After after Goldschmidt drives in that run, he gets Erin honor to bounce into the double play to get out of that inning. Maybe the biggest play we've seen in about a week for the Giants as far as saving a ballgame or Tyler Rogers getting out of it in the seasoning anyway, Here's Alex would talking about battling against those two giant killers. In the the Cardinal line of Aaron, Otto and Goldsman. Yeah. I mean, I mean, I feel like Goldman Arnada probably have at least 40 or so it bees off me. We've We've done a lot of battles over the years, and you know, those are two guys, You know, it's fun to compete against them. You know, it's it's a chess match, so to speak, You know, it's kind of my favorite part of pitching. You know, when you face guys so many times, they know you pretty intimately what you've done to him in the past how you plan to attack them. And so you know, just kind of moving the pieces around the board, you know, trying to execute and thought he did a really good job. By the way, would eighth win of the season drops his ER. Eight out of 3.67. He was on fire to start the year and as capital said, Nice to see a guy come out this aggressively when the team has not been been been great, especially knowing the offense had been put up a bunch of runs over the last couple. So five runs yesterday for the Giants to draw eight walks, struck out just seven times, then the sort of the moment of the game we were talking about this just a minute ago, this gay Johan Oviedo, the starting pitcher. For the Cardinals. Who hell of an outing Just kept checking that card over and over and over again, he thought the Giants were stealing signs from second base. He just kept going to that little index card they use. Look, if you're a left fielder or your shortstop, and you got one of those cards in your pocket, that doesn't bother me at all, because it doesn't stop the game for you to take a peek at it and say, Oh, boy, it's a 12 count. I should be standing four steps to my left. Is it kind of stupid? Sure, but it doesn't bother me because I don't notice it when the game's going on, If every time that the picture has the guy get on base he takes longer in between. Hitters are longer in between pitches because he's got to step off the mound, take his hat off and peek into that little index card. Now we're now we're messing with the the cadence of the game. We're messing with the the flow of the game. We're saying baseball's got to speed the game up. People aren't into this thing. How many times are Steph Curry stopped the game and take a peek at an index card to be like? Oh, yeah, I should be defending this guy to this side. No, you just don't play and I know No, they're different games. I understand It's different, not a perfect analogy. It's apples and oranges there. It's fine. I get it. My point is this just like if the catcher wants to have it, he wants to peek at it to give the signs to the picture. Fun. It doesn't stop the game. It doesn't bother anybody to do that. He's got to give the sign anyway. But the picture should not have And what Marcus, the water boy and I were just saying pictures often times Now you seem in the college World Series. They've got these sleeves on. With like a whole quarterback, Uh, like a bunch of plays. They've got to run their red zone plays. Their two minute offense is therefore minute offences. Whatever it is, they've got to run. It's just kind of it's getting. It's getting nonsensical. It's too much it makes its How can this It didn't help. He went four innings. He couldn't throw a strike. Dude walked four guys three strikeouts, two earned allowed to give up just three hits through 80 pitches over the four innings of work. It's like how effective is it? All I know is he played baseball for like, 120 years, 140 years without index cards, and now the picture needs an index card to decide which I know This is sounding like old man Get off my lawn, but I'm not because this is ridiculous. There's no reason for this anyway. At one point, he turns around, he starts barking at you, Stransky. Flores is at the plate, he says, F Or, he says, shut the blank up. Right. He's still he's still in. Yes, but he thinks he has his relaying signs to Florida's or something like that, Anyway, Here's a Stransky after the game, talking about this interaction, saying, Yeah, I didn't know what he was talking about. I was cheering my guy on. I was trying to be a little bit of a distraction. He's a rookie pitcher out there. These are head games we play here's Jastremski. Yeah, I think I mean, that's part of the game is the mental side, right? So any advantage that we can take over? You know, weather teams are paranoid, whether they think we're doing something that we're not. Um, it's just a way to hopefully get a distraction off the hitter and to get onto the base runner so they can't make their pitches. So, um, yeah, I definitely think that He had a lot of intent, thinking that I thought that I was relaying signs, which I wasn't I had nothing. They change their signs. Four or five times I had zero clue what was comment even when I you know, thought I could have possibly known what was coming. It was honestly the the opposite pitch, so Um, I was just trying to kind of keep the game going and keep the focus in the right direction. So were you pretty surprised him and he turned around and started yelling at you. I've never been in that situation before. Um, so, Yeah, I was a little surprised and didn't expect it. I don't think he was intimidated. He was just getting caught off guard like Yo dude, get the hitter. Usually pitchers heard that focused on and if they are, it's a step off and look at the guy back, You know, walking Stransky back to second base, Make sure he's not getting too big of a lead. But he's wrecked. That reaction was a little funky. He says he actually did not expect Oviedo to react the way that he did, He says, Uh yeah, he basically says I didn't expect him to turn around that way. After the bases loaded. I knew that they had changed their change signs at least three times while I was on second base. Um so I figured that they thought that I was doing it then. So I was like, I'm just gonna kind of keep wrong with. It's like, uh, Seeing a little little opening into into a window and trying to climb through it when you can't really do it, and you get a big hole and have an opportunity to Try and get the focus on you instead of the hitter. Um you know something that I thought was going to be something that to take advantage of whether it's just kind of moving around or, you know, changing whatever you're doing out there to make them think one thing and You know when in intern, it's not the case..

The only thing. I like on tonight's card. Fading ardo rodriguez and the ugly command profile. The offense has certainly been a nice surprise being a little bit better this season. I don't know. I think it will see comes money in all three games of this serious here hendrickson. The market's coming on on friday. We'll see the john get fade on saturday. It almost doesn't matter who the cubs are. Starting in that game then carlos martinez looks really really bad to even with zach davies on the mound. I wouldn't be shocked. The season cubs money on sunday. So i do think the cubs take money in all three of these games. If you are interested in betting them they they'd play them quickly with hundreds on friday and we don't know who's pitching saturday at but we know that money will come in against john gant so you'll probably want to get out in front of that line. So maybe the boston offense gets healthy a little bit here for this weekend. Lastly mariners in indians. And the reason i talked about this series is because i'm interested to see what the betting markets do with these teams both of these teams with actual records better than where they should be based on bass runs third a win percentage and thackery and win loss. So i want to know how the market handles this because indians will be a big favourite on friday with aaron savelli on the mound in a really big favor on sunday. Which shane bieber. Will there be any seattle buyback to where look seattle's a better offense on the road at home. We all know that but there they are up in detroit. Getting bet against in all three games of that series. I think there's a good chance that we see indians money in all three games of this serious. Maybe not as much on saturday with you say kukuchi and kristen mckenzie but i think indians will get the benefit of the doubt here in this series. So what the wait and see. How big their lines are. "To this point. The big right hander. I think he's really mature for his age. He's twenty three and he's given some of the more thoughtful reflections in the postgame press conferences. That i've seen from a lot of pitchers not just on the cardinals but even in town stops for a guy as long as he is. He really seems to take a heart. Some of the mistakes you make some of the strategy mates Allow that may be has to do with the fact that his margin of error is pretty slim. Or if he's pitching six seven innings he's gonna stay up but if he gets roughed up for about four three or four innings. That's a quick hook for him to get back down to triple a. And and keep fresh down there You know. I think. I think it's chained up is really come along this year. That's kind of one of the pitches was really working to hone in spring training where we didn't get to see too much in grapefruit league action. It really does a nice job. Setting up his fastball. Great balls while also. I've been very impressed with him. Just as a person you know. He's twenty three years old. He does all of his interviews. English which is not everyone has around comfort. And and i you know when he doesn't do interview in english but is as a very great command of the language just twenty years old and he's just been really impressive to watch you know it's funny you mentioned that and that and and i don't want to go too far off you know the prognostication or the hyperbole end but like some of the tendencies that you see from a player like oviedo off the field to me are good indicator as some of the limited stuff we see on the field and when you see comfortable confident he is how he defers and follows the lead of the veterans even like i don't know man he's just like this big physically Unbelievably looking guy with a million dollar smile too. I like it's hard and obviously we can't quantify that kind of stuff but if you're a fan i think you you try to put some of the pieces together as to why the club has had such an impressive and successful track record. Recently of developing pitching eight really just looks like a big league. I mean we saw a guy that y'all his legal chapman to him kind of the way he walks around and smiles and stuff. Yeah means big you guy. It looks like you belong on the dick bigly now in both just from his frame and some his staff i mean. You saw honked. His spring training they acquired the phillies. This offseason beans about six six and and oviedo just fine. They're like six four six five in our desire kind of gets much flames. Our but oviedo just like is able to really work his stop and work his delivery into very refined very repeatable So yeah i mean. Even he's only three which is kind of the best thing about him is that there's still so much more there for him to lock. He's taking the heart. All these major league bumps he said so far and that's still just. It's very impressive. Demeanor azlan yeah. He had some similar bumps in august. Twenty nineteen when he was absolutely cruising in palm beach and then got promoted to springfield. Struggled a bit really struggled with command and like you know some of the aggressive promotions in the minors again. We don't or fans don't see them like they see guys that come up to the big leagues some similar struggles that maybe have some similar takeaways for a guy like oviedo think. I think it probably wasn't exactly supposed to debut last year. Maybe a year You know he probably wasn't even on the forty man. Now yeah he. I don't wanna say he picked solely because of the need but you with all the all. The guys sideline last year with the with the outbreak. You is definitely one of the first guys called upon in such a hurry I wouldn't have been surprised if he came in towards the end of the last season he got some spot starts or or longer. Leave it behind starters but Him making five starts last year. I think was really fast for him. Just twenty two last year. So i think him kind of be able to have that experience and having this spring training this offseason so kind of take that to heart and reshape himself. I think has been really impressive. So far. all right last thing before we let you go. Zack moss michael. This will be a back starting tonight. His second rehab start As we haven't seen miles in quite some time. What is reasonable again. I use that word to expect for miles and and maybe how important is his continued progression even as he continues to progress. You hope to keep expectations realistic. But how important is the progression as You know we'll see not just the cardinals but a lot of teams really start to test their pitching depth. Here i imagine as we get deeper into the season and the minor league start rolling. Your there's always a common frame when a guy is back from injury towards analyses and it's like a deadline acquisition away. I think it's a little too early in the year to call. It is nice. Welcome back for him in the fact that he hasn't pitched in twenty nine hundred really ready to get back on a big league now back competition. Now we talked to him after his started aaa the other day and he was just so amped up to be able to compete again. I mean that's what he said when he got hurt in. The first place was that he was maybe going a little bit too. Full board is first bullpen session and maybe probably want a little bit too hard on himself. so i think he's probably gonna get once he has one starting line tonight by one more on sunday Hoping to build up to about seven innings ninety pitches by sunday. And after that. I think they're going to try. Bring them back. They might give him one more reason. Start depending how these next to go But if not then he will probably look eh. Come back late next week or or you know week. After he's he's got back especially with carlos her on her ponds her. Parsons got the start up. He's a young man who pitched very well in spring training. You know undrafted a free agent. But he struggled in his outing. Arsons was probably starting in in your johan. Oviedo is ticketed for that till he was needed in. Saint louis But max morality infielder who looked good in spring training.
