Outman hits grand slam to propel Dodgers to 7-3 victory over Twins
"James outman hit a 7th inning Grand Slam that lifted the Dodgers to a 7 to three win over the twins with two out and the score tied at three outman connected off Emilio pagan. That was a good feeling. It was good to come up big in a big spot right there. Pagan walked in the tying run before giving up the slam to outman Minnesota's Byron buxton and Joey Gallo hit solo homers, twins ace, Sonny gray lasted only four innings allowing two runs, Bruce dargo got the win. "Thought about baseball more than these people had more information than these people. And so generally speaking, made the right decision. This is the same thing I'm kind of getting at. I'm not saying experts are always right. I just trust what their telling me more than 6 79 on Twitter. Listen, you chose 6 that you're a big 6, 7, 8, 9. I get that you want to take the shots of people on Twitter criticizing, I mean, listen, I don't want to get into it. Joe Girardi, you're giving him way too much credit. George roddy had a book and said, oh, lefty, batting one 36. There was no field. I started the binder. I don't care who started it. They did every single thing goes by the book with the Yankees. There's no feel. There's no, oh, this guy threw 6 innings and only gave up one hit. Let's keep it. No, we got to change it because of the anode. So I don't, to me, what the manager does is all nonsense. It's all the GM now anyway and they tell them what to do. So now I'm going to go. Cashman, I just got on my phone ten year ten year extension. I'm sure. He has a job for life. He's never allowed to be fired. You think the Yankees win the World Series every year? And go ask them when I covered the Yankees. I acted like they won the World Series. When they're good, they're good. They have a good team? I think do I think they have a good team? Listen, I'm old and out of touch, right? So like you're never allowed. It's big type of you're never, ever allowed to talk about batting average. Batting average is useless, batting average is bullshit. No one goes right back. Every Yankee is back in two 20. That no big deal. Yesterday is like two 42. Yeah, well, we're all under. Except for Aaron judge. So, I mean, I get Aaron hicks. Aaron hicks, Joey Gallo, Gerrit Cole, where are the articles criticizing these moves? Josh Donaldson stinks. I got one for you that you're going to love, Jimmy. You're going to love this one. But I got to look it up because I was just told this. I'm going to say this. I'm going to write a part of the story about it. But next Friday's game. Yankee game? It's either apple or Amazon. I think it's on apple. Yeah. Aaron judge, a 100%, go bet, go bit all your life savings on Aaron judge hit and at least one of those 60, 61 or 62,000 next Friday. That's fine. I'm not watching it. You won't watch it? Absolutely not. Do you have that? Of course. I'm not going to sit there and put Apple TV on my TV to watch a Yankee game for three hours and not be able to change a channel, flip around. There'll be a college football game on ESPN that night. Do you have it on your phone? I'm not watching it again with my phone.

"You still love the baseball stats and all the other nerdy stuff, right a little bit. I check in on it. I have a baseball. You have a couple of baseball threads. And I'll go see a game too. That's really fun. I'm so fascinated by Joey Gallo. I would watch like a three hour show on Joey Gallo. Joey Gao is hitting one 60. Yeah. And it's like he's the ultimate three outcome guy. Three true outcomes. Really seems like it's zero outcomes because he can't ever get up base. Can you get 200? Can you hit 200? Right. One 60 is like 5 out of 6 times. I'm gonna probably strike out or have a ground out. That just seems like how is this a good guy to have in your team? I don't understand baseball at all anymore. Even as I watch it, I don't understand. I have it. I don't either and the one thing that we talk about a lot now is like if shohei can't save baseball like who can save it. And look, maybe if you were on the Dodgers or something, but like this dude, he had back to back nights of what? Like 13 strikeouts and then 8 RBI or background reversing the order, but that's comic book shit. That's like, this is Babe Ruth. You could say the same thing about Aaron judge. I mean, I was talking to some the other day about it. Baron judge, if this was 1998, Aaron judge and shohei would be like two of the 5 biggest stars in any sport, right? All we would be talking about is Ken Aaron judge gets 60 homers. Is this guy the next mantle? Oh my God, you see what judge said yesterday. Nobody cares. But I think I just think people don't care about regular season baseball at all anymore. Yeah. I said this to herself on Sunday Night. It's not that he needs to go to a big market. But I think he does. But it's more like he just needs to go to a team that is going to be playing in October. So the most of the casual fans who never watch baseball until four weeks in October, they just need to see them because they're not going to watch them in June. They'll see him on Twitter. They'll see him on Instagram on TikTok. They're so bad. And by the way, they also have Mike Trout. They have the two most legendarily good players. It's shocking. I don't know. I don't know what the solution is, but you're right. I mean, we're old enough to remember Maguire and Sosa. Those guys were in commercial. Those guys were epically famous. If you're Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, you could walk into an Applebee's anywhere in the country and no one would know who the fuck you were. That's so crazy. I mean, it just doesn't make any sense. The most people probably saw him in Sunday's brawl. The angels Mariners bra because that was like probably the most shared social clip of the year in baseball so far, but yeah, look, he just needs to be on a big team that will be in the playoffs. And the same thing with trout. People don't know trout. See has been the fucking playoffs. It's a decade of this guy being essentially like Barry Bonds junior. He's incredible and it's just boring. A guy likes weather. I mean, look, he's not setting the world on fire with like being controversial or anything, but yeah, anyway, we all know that. My hot take is trap might be more interesting than I realized. 'cause.

"Great. We'll see what Joey Gallo is. So I think that they kind of remind me of the Red Sox where the potential is there. It's just, I don't know if they can do it consistently enough. The scary thing for me is if they are going to win, they're going to win hitting the baseball, right? Because where those guys are on Gallo, Rizzo. Yeah, go on. They can get stand judge. Thank you, dawn. The Jays, obviously, they can hit the crap out of the ball too. The Red Sox are designed to win games 11 to 8. And in a division full of teams that are also trying to win shootouts, I can get a little rough and the Red Sox probably have the worst bullpen of the three teams. That is the one thing I'd say the Yankees have definitively over the Red Sox. They have a good question. And that was the irony of Sunday Night is the Red Sox bullpen outperformed the Yankee bullpen. Not by a lot, but enough to make a difference. By the way, it sounds like Aaron judge they're not going to extend them anytime soon, and he's going to hit free agency. You know, why would they? Teams don't extend good players in Major League Baseball. Apparently, except the pirates out of nowhere cabri and Hayes, the first time ever spending money. I love that deal. Smart deal by Pittsburgh. Good for the fans to actually get to see a player hit the age 30 in their city. When's the last time that happened? Joey Votto, Cincinnati. I was saying in Pittsburgh. Oh, in Pittsburgh, a boy, go back to the old, the lumber company days. You have to go back that far. I can't remember last time. Even when even in Barry Bonds and Bobby bonilla days, they didn't extend their players, obviously that's why Barry Bonds left for the Giants..

"A lot of shorts out floating in the pipeline, but you can not make your 2022 decision based entirely around eventually accommodating future prospects because nobody's ready for 2022 except Corey Seager. I don't hate it. There is a sense of inevitability growing here, though, the Yankees have chosen their man. It's surprising. A lot of people picking Trevor story because he's gonna cost a 150 million to $200 million less. Some people picking Carlos Correa because he is the prize of the class. Clearly, I would say if the ages are willing to spend, but not on Correa that says a lot about what they think about Correia's personality. And I'm going to trust them on this one because as we've hopefully learned by now, personalities do matter, Garrett Cole and Bret Gardner screaming at each other as stupid as a story that was. Kind of seems like it mattered. Joey Gallo having OCD and laying his clothes out, absolutely doesn't matter. Shout out to Joey Gallo. That's one of the dumbest things I've ever read. Shouldn't have been written. But chemistry is real, it exists. And so if, you know what? I'm more committed to Aaron judge than I am to Carlos Correia. I would assign Carlos Correa, but if they're not gonna do it, there's a reason why. And if they're willing to spend money on somebody and it's Corey Seeger, then that tells me the money is not a concern at all. It is not going to pile up. There will be no repercussions in 5 years because you don't do this with the memory of a goldfish. You do this knowing full well that you do not care about the consequences. So if the Yankees don't care, I don't care either. Yeah, before I get into my opinion on here, I want to say that I think it's great that we're talking about dropping bills because that's what the problem was the last two years. Yankees clearly had holes that could have been patched up with just like one or two signings that would have brought them a little bit over..

They got what else did they person. So they so Larry, yeah, so lair. An all guys who were underachieving on bad teams who were historically solid baseball players that would benefit from a change of scenery and benefit from being protected in the lineup. And instead the Yankees were like, no, we're just gonna go get star players that aren't entirely essential for what we need in this operation. They sour the relationship with Luke void as a result. Joey Gallo, the worst two months of his life and now nobody really wants him here. And it was just an unneed acquisition because he doesn't make contact with his bat. We need him to play left field. That was the position he was least experience with. A lot of problems, Yankees could learn from the braves because the braves were certainly treading water at that point and they made marginal moves that they felt would fit the design of their team and fill in the gaps where they weren't as dynamic. And that's exactly what happened. And now they're leading the NLCS against the Dodgers. So figure it out, man. Is there some major Ewing theory potential with running could you junior? Is that worth asking? We're gonna take a quick break. The braves might already have blown the NLCS, but it is a good point..

"I am not saying he's going to be the centerpiece of a deal right now, but why instead of Anthony volpe or Oswald peraza, why wouldn't you glom pitching prospects onto Luke Voight and tried to turn that into a trade? And again, this could be Clark Schmidt and peraza, I would keep one of Opie or peraza. That's sort of where I fall right now. I would do I would do peraza Voight and Luis heel for mattson. Yeah, I would do a number of things. I would go as far to say that you don't even need to include prospects if you didn't want to. Look, what if you, what if you packaged Luke voigt and glaber Torres? What if you packaged Luke voigt Joey Gallo in like a top ten maybe one top ten prospect? What if you did Luke Roy Aaron hicks in 8 half Aaron hicks his contract and gave them a center Fielder and then, you know, popped in popped in somebody else. It doesn't have to be a prospect heavy deal. I also don't think that's cheaping out on I don't think that's trying to screw the a's over at all. I think Aaron hicks may have some good years left. It's just not working out here and it's a liability for the Yankees at this point. I think they sour the relationship with Luke Voight. He can't be here anymore. They disrespected him. They traded for somebody else. They didn't get and then that other person went on the COVID IL, Luke .1 AL player of the week and then they benched him for essentially the rest of the season. Gallo Gallo seems like a guy that age would love to have versatile defensively, lefty power bat, played in the AL west. I'm can't believe we're drinking Joey Gallo. I laugh every time we talk about it. I mean, yeah, I mean, I laugh in a sad manner because this was a great, this on paper was a great move to help us in 2022 and how I just don't understand where he fits on this team. If you're not going to play him in center field. So I don't want him in left field. The Yankees shouldn't want him either. And they play tourists..

"But don't forget what we did see in this series. We saw punches thrown in both directions, metaphorically. We saw the mets accusing the Yankees of achieving incredibly ridiculous that they would do that. You know, it's possible that you picked up Taiwan walker signs and Jonathan VR snuffed it out. I would say it's likely that happened. The Yankees claim it had nothing to do with the pitches, they didn't pick anything up. Joey Gallo said it was wanting Peralta whistling. He whistles all the time and actually it pisses me off 'cause I don't like listening to you and whistle, you know, whatever. I don't know what I believe. But what I do know is that Steve Cohen didn't give the Yankees a pre game tour of city field and say you can set your cheating cameras up there and there and there could be a nice clean path for achieving camera here. The mets would not facilitate that. If the egg is lost the same series to the Red Sox that they just lost in the mets I'd be apoplectic. That's how I know it's not a real rivalry. That was theater. That was really interesting and entertaining. And the mets are in our city and we're sharing a town and that's great. If Yankees had lost that crucial series to the Red Sox, they'd be throwing Chad green blowing two games in a row. Gary sage is for getting a tag, a guy coming to home plate, just non aggressively backing off and allowing a man to score the error fest that was the first game. Geo Rochelle in the field, glaber tours in the field. I'd be, you know, throwing I had actually put myself to sleep and then have dreams about throwing things around the room. But the mets, it's just like, that was a showcase series. That was a Major League Baseball showcase series. It doesn't happen often. It was very exciting. Yankees punched back on Saturday and Sunday, Lindor got the last laugh on Sunday. A rolled his chairman and Aaron judge somehow got the last laugh on Saturday. Aaron Boone's Bullpen Decisions Don't Make Any Sense
"Like the managerial stuff in that sense is insane to me. We can talk about moving Joey Gallo to the two hole when he did earlier in the week and last week when it was just clearly not. I don't know how you do that. When he's the worst hitter on the team, laboratories is the worst player on this team. I'll just have to say that. It's just so by far. And then the pitching decisions I'll quickly go through. It's the bullpen. Look, you need your man. Your team top to bottom is going to do this. Not as bad as the Yankees are doing it. But your team is not going to be clicking and you're going to need some help in the form of the guy running the club. The guy who's executive decisions can sway the momentum of a game or can save the team can stop the bleeding at any point or can save the team from themselves and Aaron Boone continually does not do that. The Yankees the Yankees have Luis heel on the mound on Wednesday. Was he looking good? No, was he was he looking bad? No, he was wild. He issued 7 walks in that one. He finally ended up giving up his first runs of the season because of Aaron Boone's decision. But he'll walk he got one out. He walked two batters and then boom leaves him in for another batter. What do you think's gonna happen? He has no control. So instead of taking him out there and having the bullpen home, we're at the game, we're standing there at the game looking at the bullpen. We've been digging into that for the last couple of years Hanbo look is so much fascinating. It feels like every day now in a day by day developments in all these races Moments you feel like a really crucial Yesterday we saw the yankees decide to bench. Joey gallo labor tours. What are you gonna joey gallo. Well i have to say you cold when the yankees traded for joey gallo you you said on the air. I'm not sure that he's a good fit for this market because of his swing and miss and what that could create but the fence well so far. He played thirty five games with the team. The sixty one strikeout since being traded their leads the major leagues. But that's not a surprise. Player that yes we. We were told that. Walk to make up for well. He's recently forty four times over that span that's high for eighty six in the major leagues during that time. Buster with the yankees. He has to multi hit games in twenty one games with multiple strikeouts and lastly gifts stranded sixty four runners since joining the team. That's fourteen more than any other player on the team. So you and i both that run-scoring diversity is a trait that all great teams have the yankees. Don't have it and obviously joey gallo only exacerbates that weakness. That's something that we knew would likely be the case when they made that trade may did it anyway. Speaking of run-scoring diversity wander franco. What about him. I am amazed at District can do so far first of all. He's he's just not overwhelmed by the quality of pitching. He's not taking defensive swings. In fact you mentioned the eighty three rd percentile in my favorite hitting statistics. Crush koshen your statistic buster only he averages twenty four total bases per one hundred. Six swing vet is a near elite number especially for a player who's age secondly. He is totally unfazed by spin. That's also rare for a player. Twenty twenty years old. He owns a nine eighty eight. Ps at bats ending breaking balls but so that ranks fifth among two hundred seventy hitters this season with at least two hundred and fifty played up. Here it's fifth. And lastly just the fact that he's sitting at the top of the order for the best lineup in the american league. Is this a ridiculous thing. The last two players twenty or younger hit two or three throughout a postseason or bryce harper and mickey mantle. This kid has that kind of good all right. So i'm gonna. I'm gonna spinoff on you and surprise you with this question. You have you're an organization. And you had you had three hundred million dollars and let's say no contracts for these players have been signed are you. Investing in wonderf- franco wants soto fernando. Ted these junior ronald kuni junior or glad junior book box one of those five players buster. It would be once soto. And that's because if i'm gonna give player three hundred million dollars i need to be one hundred percent. Sure method back will play for the entire life of the contract for him. I am a hundred percent. Certain that that will be the case but candidly. There's no wrong answer there and if you asked me. A year from now wonder franca. What might have proven enough to where answer him. But i think all five guys have a decent arguable. Oh yeah the and it feels like since you could day by day and go back and forth reason why i brought it. Up is because water franca. Shortstop right i agree look wants. Soda was the most I think we're finally developed among those five hitters. We just laid out and but the thing is it. It feels like wonder ronco might be in a couple of years where soda was two years ago. Maybe so i'm not convinced you'll be able to stay at shortstop given how bulky has lower is a little more the scouting side of things. But there's just no question that he compare him to another uber. Prospect jira helmet jerry. Getting this like all these breaking pitches. He's not able to do hardly anything like his control. The strokes is not fair and his ability to drive the baseball. Isn't there either like we saw in the minor. Leagues trump was playing. Like you said in the middle of doing all of that stuff. Almost right from the gecko it so hard to be good that young right away and he's doing it and i think tell nick struggles we both think is going to be a star. I think even more eliminate that for franco got on market simeon. Who's having one year bet on himself than anybody. That's exactly right so a fun. Though that i came across this morning that yesterday he became just the first player. Actually the first player in baseball history to record at least seventy five extra base hits in a season both as a shortstop and as a second baseman which is a fun little note. But more. So we actually. This is a kind of a new thing in in ham sort of exploding this season it is absolutely not if you look at the wins above replacement leaderboard busters since twenty nine thousand over the last three seasons. He's i for baseball reference. I on and grass and i on baseball perspectives. Three of the most reputable places. We have to search this stuff. Say he has been baseball most valuable player over the last three seasons that is unprecedented kind of production. And you very rarely see that kind of thing across the border to these thoroughly anonymous player. Who's not done it on two different teams in at two different positions. He's a freaking superstar. And it's about time we start talking about him like that. Can you send me those notes in all explain. Why later in an email okay. "As much power as he does and fields as well as he does is still a good baseball player regardless of the ugliness and garish nature of some of his line scores. I get it. That said, there's no more defending 2021 second half Joey Gallo, who's now performing like one of the worst trade deadline acquisitions in Yankees history. It's hard to be worse. He's hitting one 30. He has 61 strikeouts in 35 games with the Yankees. He's the second player in the history of baseball to have 60 plus strikeouts in his first 35 games with a franchise. The other was Javier Baez, who did it for the cubs as a rookie in 2014. Joey Gallo is a good baseball player. Joey Gallo has been impossibly bad since joining the Yankees outside of a few showcase moments. The home run in Chicago, wonderful, the home run against Seattle, great, that only gets out in like two ballparks, still great. And the home run against the Orioles the other day that ended up tying a king and then a rolled his Chapman gave away one of many unconscionable losses for this team down the stretch. So again, this isn't Joey Gallo's a bad player in the age you shouldn't have acquired him. This is just the reality that Joey Gallo and the two hole has not helped. He's diversified the lineup. You know, if I showed you a photocopy of the lineup with a lefty on the side you would go, oh neato, but he has provided next to nothing. Like, you know, he's helped John Carlos stand in Aaron judge, I'm sure, but Gallo himself has been one of the worst trade deadline acquisitions. This team has ever made. And he has time to turn that around, but as of now, that is factual. Yeah, and it's confounding because he's missing fastballs, middle middle. And nothing adds up here. He's inside of a line. He's in he's in the best lineup he's ever been in in his entire career, no ranger scheme was better than probably any iteration of the Yankees any version of the Yankees since 2015 or yeah, you made his he didn't have his first full season until 2017. So definitely not. And he's just he just doesn't once again doesn't the guy who does not look comfortable. And it goes on, it's on par with the Yankees storyline for the 2021 season just a lot of inexplicable things that make no sense that can not be there really, they can not be described, there's no rhyme or reason to it. It's just it's just bad stuff that's happening to certain people for really no reason whatsoever. Like you said, 61 strikeouts in a 123 at bats. So I understand the plate appearances are a thing is a 151 151 plate appearances, but dude, that's a 40% strikeout rate still. Again, you can tell me all you want about how valuable Gallo as a player is if he's hitting for monster power and taking walks and striking out. I of course understand that. He's not hitting for monster power. So what is this? This is bad. Yeah, it's really bad. And I understand he brings value in other ways, the defense his versatility on defense helps. His lefty bat helps. But the whole reason he was the Yankees knew what they were bringing him in for..

The Yankees Are Regressing Back to Their Early Season Inconsistencies
"Did we really get ahead of ourselves with that 13 game win streak? I certainly didn't. I don't think you did either. We felt good. We certainly like to expose some of the old critiques that we had or the greater part of the fan base had to kind of live in the positivity and the optimism for a moment. But I think we knew that things would be coming crashing down to earth at some point. But then again, we also didn't think it'd be coming crashing back down to earth like this, but this is this is the 2021 New York IG that we have been talking about for however, long we've been doing this since the start of the season. This is the April to mid July Yankees that have tortured fans that have failed to produce that have not met expectations that have not gotten hits and clutch situations that have laid down when the game was out of their reach for their standards. And now we're back at that. Losers of 7 of the last 9 against largely inferior opponents and really pissing away the positioning that they gave themselves. I understand that look, were they going to keep winning? Were they going to break the a's consecutive wins record? Absolutely not. But we also didn't think that winning 13 straight would come with losing 7 of 9 to kind of just, you know, 15 and 7 doesn't really sound that good after you've won 13 trade. It kind of just sounds like you had house money, you took advantage of the house money and then you lost your savings account. And that's really what it feels like here. And I just don't understand why this is happening still. So this is the reason why there is a DNA slash culture problem with the Yankees because this was all happening before the trade

"The goal here with Gallo was to lengthen the lineup and diversify the lineup. Left handed bat, he gives tough at bats and he's able to give protection to other guys in the lineup. Perhaps, I mean, it not perhaps. It is certainly paved the way for John Carlos Stanton Luke Voight and Aaron judge to be on the hot treats that they are on right now. And we're thankful for that. But a lot of fans have been sitting here saying, oh, dude, when Joey Gallo heats up, forget about it. Forget about it. This team's gonna be unstoppable. But we have no evidence of him heating up. So Anthony Rizzo heated up right upon his arrival in The Bronx. Made his statement. That kick started the Yankees incredible run throughout the month of August. But Joey Gallo has yet to really come on. I know we have that go ahead home run against the Mariners. There's no reason to be down on this team, even though the offense didn't look great these last two nights, even though the bullpen let us down last night. It's going to happen. Losses, I understand, you feel invincible after those first few games after the first few games in Oakland because you staved off Oakland's wild comeback wild 6 O come back in that opener. And then you win the second game handily with just with an offensive explosion. Great. That's not gonna happen every night. We just won 13 in a row, enjoy it back in the playoff picture. "This is really shaping up to be one of the craziest seasons in recent memory for the Yankees. Nobody saw this type of turnaround. Nobody saw this team being galvanized to this extent. Nobody saw the rotation being this good. And the great part about it all is that, yeah, the Yankees did need that kind of fire from Aaron Boone earlier this year when they weren't performing. But guess what? We'll take it at any point. You got to remember guys, Aaron Boone underwent heart surgery before this even started. I'm sure he was still taking time to recover. I'm sure he was still taking time to kind of find his bearings and find that passion deep within him to really get the team excited, go out there and look, he's say what you want about Aaron Boone. He's defended his guys in most spots. I know the beginning of this year. It's kind of been problematic because it's been a lot of defending players who have been underperforming. And it's been a lot of excuses. I think the famous one was baseball is hard. We heard that one earlier in the year. Yeah, we know it's hard. But for as much as you want to criticize Boolean, I know a lot of people don't like them. He's got his players backs. And it was clear last night. It was good that he didn't allow that situation to dictate the game. He nipped it in the bud. I know the strike. The strike zone definitely improved after that. But you don't want to be the manager standing in the dugout watching this kind of let this garbage strike zone continue for the entire game. He saw enough in the second inning. He was fed up. He went out there. He led his voice be heard, got ejected. Everyone gets pumped. And this is the kind of stuff that you need. And guess what? Why not like the team on fire during an 11 game win

Yankees Acquire Joey Gallo in Trade With Rangers
"All right. Baseball trade deadline is tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to give the green light to my man Himbo, who is alongside here today as always proud member of the Hashtag crew and my VP of baseball Analytics as the first shoe dropped yesterday, and it dropped in the Bronx, Joey Gallo, acquired by the New York Yankees, and we spent so much time wondering, well, the Yankees by could they possibly sell? Is it worth mortgaging up a significant chunk of your future to try and rescue this season, and they answered that in an enormous way yesterday? Joey Gallo might very well be the biggest name that is traded at the trade deadline of the Yankees landed him Now I view this as a massive risk, but I do view it as a risk worth taking. Here's what I mean. The reason it's a massive risk is because Joey Gallo is a 2 11 career hitter. He bedded 1 81 last year and in theory, what the Yankees should have been looking to do is add some diversity to their lineup to add players. You don't just walk, strikeout or hit home runs, and he is the very definition of the three true outcome player. But the reason it's a risk worth taking is that there's a lot more to Joey Gallo, of course. And that he's one of the more prolific home run hitters we've ever seen. He's an outstanding outfielder. He's actually the best outfielder in baseball this season by defensive runs saved. He has a lot of value as a base runner, and, most importantly, for the Yankees. He's a left handed hitter. They needed a left handed hitter to occupy the middle of that order, and amongst all the names that will be, you know, flying around over the next day or two. He's probably the best left hand about that was going to go. The Yankees got him without giving up any of their top 10 prospects.

"You're joel sherman of new york. Post is the eggs are interested in texas rangers. Lefty joey gallo as the trade deadline approaches. We obviously been talking about this for months. This is not the not the first time you've heard the name joey gallo. Everybody had their jokes during the homerun. Derby when gallows power disappeared a perfect yankee and so did we. I the same jokes. This is serious. Note this actual no. This is someone who can help this year and beyond and we know we came away from the rangers series that the played in texas relatively unimpressed with gallows effort but he takes walks. The power has certainly locked in to form since then he looked like a different guy. I he's not my favorite trade target but in terms of shopping. I'm not looking to add someone you could be with this team for two months. I'm looking to add versatility for twenty twenty one and beyond. I'm certainly not going to be angry. If the acquire all star fifty homer power. Joey gallo lefty and put him at yankee stadium. I don't know what it's going to look like. Until i see but i do know we don't have any left power and he is a lot of you power. And he's versatile on defense. We need a center. Fielder renita leftfielder. You can play both those positions if you're really need them to play first base. You could do that too if you wanna d. h. aaron judge. He could play right field. So m. I a fan of this I'll take it I don't know if it's the tailor-made acquisition for the yankees another. The slugger who walks hits home runs and doesn't hit for average Has a high. Ob p American league in walks with seventy two so that school But i think Very weird to say the problem with the yankees as they take too many walks. They don't capitalize on the opportunity to put the ball in play tested defense. Move the runners over a surprise guys. If you get a leadoff runner on second the next batter walks all you do. There is at another based on the double play The double play ball in play for the defense so More times than not. We'd like to see the put bat on ball They love taking pictures right outside the zone. They don't entirely to attack at least this version of the twenty twenty one yankees that we've seen but i will take gallo if that is something that the yankees peel. That is affordable for them in kind of fits their plans Hey the will l. lefty slugger of that caliber. In yankee stadium can really change the game. I know we sound like a broken record saying that. What they haven't gotten any lefty sluggers. That could change the game in yankee stadium. Why not do it now for the final two months you how it works out and maybe he changes the fortunes for this team but guess what they also need a starter they probably need another reliever I'd like to see chapman or britain. Go at this deadline. to Relief some salary and any other any other moves that make them. Marginally flexible would be great. I think timokau stras worked out pretty well so far. The timber cash also can't be starting for your team in the postseason so there's gonna be a couple of moves they have to make your i think gal gals and i start in my opinion. Yeah i would sacrifice a pinkie finger to seaworld cabin on another team in the next couple of weeks Yeah gallo's not a contract. That's gonna kill the yankees. They're not absorbing big money. You're never going to look back at a gallo train. Be like this is the moment the yankees died so like am. I gonna lose my mind if it doesn't happen. No but yeah. It's exciting school if you can do for cheap cheap ish cheap desk. That is it for this edition of the school yard..
