Amazon accused of firing warehouse worker who criticized "robot"-like treatment

"For me from the business insider, a former Amazon warehouse workers filed a complaint against the tech giant's saying he was fired as retaliation for speaking out about it's working conditions child. Long was recently dismissed from Amazon Staten Island warehouse or from. Film at center is there known Amazon and follows his appearance of protests against Amazon's H Q, two plans in New York on Wednesday, New York labor union, the retail wholesale and department store union filed a complaint lungs behalf with the National Labor Relations board claiming the retailer has violated federal law recently Amazon fire me after I spoke out about bad working conditions at their Staten Island fulfillment center, along with some of my co workers. My getting fired is a clear act of retaliation by Amazon long. Send a statement sent to business insider and Amazon spokeswoman told Bloomberg that longs allegations of unfair dismissal or false. His employment was terminated for violating a serious safety policy. She said in a statement long said Amazon's version of events is bogus along with part of the high profile push towards worker unionization and has been a vocal critic of Amazon's working conditions. They talked to you like, you're nothing. They care about is their numbers. He told Bloomberg in December when he another workers joined a protest against Amazon's New York HQ to expansion during a protest a statement from long condemning. Amazon's working conditions was read out by another participant. I'm filing charges of unfair labor practices because it's unfair and wrong. The Amazon fire me for speaking out and organizing at my workplace to continue to support Amazon's workers in New York City's they fight to improve their workplaces their jobs in their lives. It's a fight. They can and should win. He said, okay. I'll stop you there. So the the this is always surprising to me. I worked for a company York for a company. I worked for individual radio stations. If I wanted my show today started calling out some radio station by name or some Boston radio station or our company at our flagship in San Antonio, so on if I did that does the company have the right to get rid of me for speaking out against it. I'd say yes absolutely one hundred percent if you came on the air tomorrow instead I hate working with joepags. I hate the Joe pags show as great as you are on the radio, you'd be gone. I mean, why would you be on the show, right? If you hate Amazon, and you hate the work conditions. Why do you work there? To me this story this story stinks. Why did you look at me like that? So you are saying that about the show. No, I'm not saying that about the show, of course now. So this is about a guy being a leftist a guy who agrees with that. There should not have been more Amazon in New York, which would have employed tons of people to the tune of billions and billions of dollars. They wanna organiz which means they want more labor, work labor unions labor rules. This is a big far leftist push. But it sorry. You go and protest the company for which you work that company has the right to fire. You that's my belief. Oh, you agree company could fire your ass. Yes. Okay.

"Is the weekend with joepags really glad to have you along for the ride. Just talking about the green new deal, which is ridiculous. It doesn't make any sense not gonna go anywhere. In fact, most of the leadership of the democrat side is just saying, yeah, we're not even paying attention. And isn't that a is that a focus of our attention? Right. But one of the guys that were brand new. He's a new Representative district who Republican the great state of Texas is Dan Crenshaw. He's got some thoughts on this and much more. Dan. How are you? I'm doing great. Thanks for having me on. Yeah. Really? Appreciate having you back. We saw you at the state of the union, of course, on television. They showed you several times. It was an incredible speech because I think that the president said exactly what America needed to here. In fact, even the far left wing media outlets. Did polling and the vast majority were very happy with what they heard from him. And then, of course, there was a disconnected speech by Stacey Abrams that made no sense. Just just give me a sense of being in that room knowing that there was some animosity, the ladies worrying, the white outfits or whatever Nancy Pelosi didn't appear to know when to stand up or sit down, but beyond that, I mean just what did it feel like being in there? It was really neat. I mean, that's my first. That's my first day of the union. It was extremely special to be in that room. You know? And and be there for this American tradition and. I it's almost hard to put into words. You know, it doesn't matter. How courageous speech was it was really great to be in there. But then on top of that. I thought the speech was really well done struck the right town. Said he it was it was a it was a message of about a message about American greatness. And to choose greatness. Let's talk about what we've accomplished. Let's talk about the good thing. Let's talk about who we are as a people. Let's let's say right here. And now that we that we are a country of freedom of individual responsibility and choice, and and pursuing the American dream and not have socialism. You know, we're we're a country that values life. Yeah. We're we're we're. You know, we're we're we're a country that wants to succeed, and and at every level and our country that celebrates the compliments of of everyone and he listed those accomplishments. You know, lowest black unemployment and. Forever and Lois Hispanic unemployment. What was the most amount of women in the workforce is really such great achievements that he was talking about and you compare that with Stacey Abrams speech afterwards, which was really about. How terrible we have it here. Right. That that's that's a real distinction between the parties right now is you know, one truly believes that that American is is built upon oppression. And that you need to convince people of that in order in order to pursue very extreme policies and. Yeah. We we saw we saw the unveiling of an extreme new policy this week that way though, we certainly did. We'll get into that. Stan crenshaw. He's the US Representative from district to the great state of Texas Republican just to sort of piggyback on what you said, the president came out and could have been negative. But he wasn't. He was extremely positive. How do you not cheer the holocaust survivor? How do you not cheer the guy that saved them? How do you not cheer? You know, the guy that went into the synagogue in Pittsburgh in and save lives there in his head twelve operations that he's got more to come. How do you not cheer the little girl that is working as hard as she can to fight childhood diseases? Then she gets one. So I think that he hit everything. Exactly, right. It was the perfect tone for the night. And it's almost like he was pressuring or the the people who helped him, right? The the speech and talk to Kellyanne Conway yesterday. And he he marked a lot of things often sharp wrote some stuff himself to, but it was almost like they knew that the left was going to go low. It's almost like they knew Stacy Abrams was going to say I love America too. But this guy's a racist. He's a homophobe misogynist. And he's just no good guy. And America just saw a really good guy say positive things about our country. Did you see the same way? Yeah. That's exactly right. And you can tell what the what the other side would stand up for. And what what? And and and they wouldn't cheer for a lot of the achievements. That we've had in the president didn't even take credit. He was a very carefully done speech. He he didn't say this happened. Because of me, he said this happened, and we should all be happy about it. This this unemployment rate is good. Why can't we all cheer for that? And like you said he brought it. He brought the guest list was was great. Because it was it was it was a story about about people who built this country about include sacrifice for this country, and and and and gone through the hard times. So that we could have what we have. And it's like the sense of gratitude to to our forefathers, and and and the greatest generation in the sense of gratitude that you have to have to for for our country to survive. And and I think we have that conservatives, and I think, and I think on the left there because they desire such radical change for the sake of change it self the only way to. To to justify that kind of action. Is you say that there's a crisis or just say that there's oppression and just say that there's there's there's so many victims, and and and to make people believe that they're oppressed. And that's not a that's just not a healthy attitude to have an and I'm not so sure the average person really feels that way. I'm unless they're told to. Stay in Crenshaw, Republican the great state of Texas, also a war hero. And I thank you so much for what you've done for us as you're sitting there watching that unfold. And you see these people in white men later, you see the Abram speech and then like the next day Alexandria, Cossio Cortez. Who does this me speaking out, you, it's my opinion, not necessarily yours? She doesn't know anything about anything. I'm just gonna put it out there. That's when you ask her why the economy is the way it is. And she gives the ridiculous interest that she gives you know, that economic economic degree probably wasn't really earned. But having said all of that. She now is supporting something called the green new deal and the green new deal. I'm just going to pick a couple of things out of it all airline travel should be abolished in ten years. That's in there all automobiles and fossil fuels should be either electric or just non existent we should rebuild every single building in the country. Not some not a few not go city by city and see what need there is. Let's just rebuild them on the mall. And when you ask her, how do you pay for it? She gives the answer that she always gives and. The answer is we'll just pay for it. Dinners any that make any sense to you. And I wonder what the murmuring is in the halls of the house of representatives. When when the majority I would have to believe look at this and go dude, are you serious. The majority do of course, even there's plenty of Democrats. Who would you can never look at this. And I think that it's a serious right proposal. I mean, it's extreme beyond extreme. I it seems to me more like a like a like a thought experiment that you would do in college and say, let's spark a conversation. Let's say all these things, and then let's analyze what would actually happen. And then at the conclusion of which is that that you really can't do any of this because of all the costs, and and just kind of nonsensical outcomes that then you would see the thing that's missing from. This is what would actually do actually. Your phone is breaking up a little bit. So we're gonna hold that thought for a second. You said let's explore what would actually happen to we could actually do. And then you broke up little take it from there. If you don't mind. Okay. What's not in? Here is is an exploration of the idea of what would happen if you did take this idea seriously and actually propose it and actually accomplish it. What effect would it actually have on the environment? That's where a lot of probably fall apart really isn't climate change happening. Sure. It is of course. Emissions have had some effect on that. Yes. But the question is is what action will we take action for? I this. That's a that's a that's a better question to ask. And so, you know, what would something like this do after it destroys our economy, and we lived a million jobs in the energy sector. We stop all airline activity apparently. And also we have a completely socialized economy because that's also in there. That's all they really want. Dan. They don't really wanna fix the the the environment because we already have the cleanest air and clean water. We've had an generation or two or four. So that's not really what it's about. Plus, I think you, and I could probably, you know, have a really cool argument or debate or discussion about whether climate change is caused by Cal farts and my SUV because he was really really hot when the ice age ended. So there were no Catholic Escalades or my Hummer wasn't available back then. But having said all of that, you really think it's a trial balloon because this woman sat there at that conference and said the earth will end in twelve years if we don't do what I want. I mean rea-, and I don't know where she's getting that information. That's it. But again, it goes back to this idea. This is what it is to be a progressive in the modern era. You have to create a crisis to help people believe that crisis. It doesn't matter that you don't really have any factor back that up because that's the only way you can get your gender, or what is the real agenda. Here. It is to control every aspect of everyone life and create the utopia that you're in visioned. And that's you know, that's a that's an inherently dangerous thing. And we saw that take place throughout the twentieth. Century kind of utopian ideal control humankind and need to control the behavior, you can control their preferences. You can control mankind's nature. That's what this is about. It's a very dangerous ideology. And they get that they get to that end state by by bye kind of tugging at the heartstrings of of reasonable concerns. That people have which is the environment. Everybody wants to be pro environment. Everybody wants to be pro. Absolutely. But the question is how do you get get there? What what are we accomplishing? What does it cost benefit? They've been studying that is that you know, the benefits they are. Exactly. Exactly. Right. Plus, why are we going to trust the central government to do it? Because to be honest to central government screwed up social security has screwed up entitlements. Every time we give more money. Even more money is needed wanted. And and grab there are eighteen different filters of guys and gals that have to be paid before. We actually do the endgame. The I I don't I don't want to trust the government with where my tax dollars Jordi trillions and trillions of dollars a year. I think that's enough people like a Kazu Cortez..

The problem with battling a conservative talking head on Twitter

"President. Joepags tweeted. And his Twitter handle is at Joe talk show. He tweeted keep in mind, what's happening in Venezuela is the direct result of the same socialistic ideology at AO. See that's Cossio Cortez and Senator Sanders and a beta award, and the like are pushing here let that really hit home for you. I re tweeted it with comment, and I said that is incorrect now, I really didn't think that Joe was going to even pay attention to it. But he almost immediately came back and said, at least you stated wine nice work now that that kind of sets the tone for this very brief conversation on Twitter with joepags. And it really gave me an insight into the the type of person, or at least a persona that he puts forth on social media. And to a certain extent, this is this is him on the radio at my response to him. Was it takes more than Twitter conversation to adequately? Explain how your statement was in accurate. I know you believe what you stated, but the facts don't support your position. I have to admit now I had to go back and rewrite that because I immediately money jerk reaction was I I wanted to throttle him. I I wanted to I wanted to be vicious, but I'll I decided instead. To take the higher route. And. Essentially say, look, you believe what you've stated. But based on the facts that I'm privy to your position is inaccurate. He responds. One hundred percent incorrect, in fact, and this is what got me you come off as so incredibly incoherent and uneducated in your response that it actually was just a waste of space in my time line, call the show you can learn me then. I don't know what I was expecting from Joe. I should've known. This is what I was going to get. But. I would love for our. I don't know. I can't I can't stand here in tale. You that liberal talk show hosts don't have some vitriol as well. I mean, look jank Uber on on the the young Turks. There have been times where he's gotten really really really vicious, and I don't necessarily agree with that. I agree with jink on a lot of points. But not not some of the more vitriolic. Let's just dig our heels in ex at an expose our our Qena, and our extended nails and just really dig in with everything that we have. And so I had to I had to think about this response. And I had some time to think about it because he responded to this after at already left to go to a client's location. So I I didn't respond to this until about two hours later in. My response was this. It's intellectually dishonest to compare the democratic socialism ideology of at AO see and at Senator Sanders to the corrupt it's socialistic system of Innis Walea. They're not the same not even in the ballpark that thanks for demonstrating. How you attack anyone that disagrees with you smiley face and his response was not attacking being direct. You are one hundred percent absolutely wrong.

You don't know what that is? He sees. He says he's against little black takes Jay street money. That's a big political action committee. You've got money coming from Hollywood. You've got you know, he's the darling of the left. Elliot loves them in the late show loves them. And this is what he does. And but when he debates he he kind of makes a fool out of himself. I think he looks a little bit petulant looks a little bit immature mid maybe he'll get better as he gets older. But now it turns out he he was lying about his vote about the ten dollar a barrel. Oil surcharge in tech, just because long about who is mother was politically all these years, and who she voted for up until him. Not the case. And he's and he's calling the sitting Senator the liar who's actually telling the truth about this guy's on record, very strange to me. Oh, and he's touting the praises of El Paso that has a Waller offense. I think that'd be all that clear right here. List of what I saw last night just out of curiosity where are you? Because I heard a lot of the mainstream media today talking about that six second pause that Senator Ted Cruz had last night to post is going nuts over this after that question. You know, sometimes it's such a softball question. And how come it took him so long to answer it? Okay. The question that was when did he? Jump in the car, and I had to go to the money. So I might have missed that one. The question was tell us something you've done the last year. That's nothing to do with politics. That would give Texans insight to who you are as a person. Well, actually that turned out to be a very funny moment. The after party. I'm glad you brought that up. I didn't know that he that he paused for six seconds. And his thought was appropriate, which is what got to be honest with you. And I think the congressman will agree. This is all we've done for the past year. And he talked about how he couldn't go to his daughter's soccer game or something. Right. So I mean, I I don't know why you worry about how long pause. They didn't know what was really sick seconds. And that's the having opposed to say I've seen it several times. And they thought oh Aurora one this one, and I thought I didn't know what they were talking about Iran, saying wasn't the funniest part of the answer. Because because Cruz actually said this last night the after party in ADA got a really big rousing laugh out of the crowd. He was talking about the blind, squirrel. Oh my goodness. Nursing back to health light score. What a blind squirrel, isn't that? Just the.

"The ride if you want more of the joepags Mojo during the week. The Joe pags show is Monday through Friday, six to nine PM eastern time three to six PM Pacific time some stations run at different times, we love having you along for the ride there. Hopefully, you're getting stern the week if not just shoot me an Email. Give me your zip code with whatever city you're in. We'll see we've got something to work in. There were always working on getting more stations were up two hundred twelve now. And you can no matter where you are. You could watch an hour of it on Newsmax TV seven PM eastern time Monday through Friday as well. All right L. Let me go to the phone lines in the time remaining. Let me say, oh, by the way, I checked into a George Soros is listed as as having citizenship in Hungary and the United States. I don't think that we accept dual citizenship here. So he is in fact, a citizen of the United States of America. Now, it does beg. The question will the guy is so anti America, anti-government and. Doing all he came to undermine to undermine our our government and our way of life. Shouldn't there be something? We can do about it. I would think that we could. Does is there a politician out there with the wherewithal to do it? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe the president the current president because he just doesn't care. Do whatever ah as long as it's good for America. Let me go to the phone lines and say Hello and welcome to line. One is going to be drilled West Virginia. Hydro what's going on? Hey, young, man. Cancer patients and a medical degree. Even on. Bucket list? Let's say next to a trip to me. Me. Simple reprimand. Definitely censure requires majority. He censure. Of a chair the committee more than anything else. A message. The evidence costing American taxpayers both in terms of money and in terms of psyche. It costs them to deal with. That's the position or. Maximum effects from whatever comes across her desk. The grass not giving a cop. Man. And we all experience. I agree with you a couple of things. First of all, I'm going to put you in my prayers. I'm sorry to hear about you diagnosis. And and I'm glad that you're still helping people and hopefully a miracle happens Dianne Feinstein is not a chairperson. Although she is the ranking member they call her that by the chairman of courses Grassley are investigating what the hell happened here. How the name was leaked the assumption is that it might be one of the legal people that were advising blip Blasi Ford. But you have to think that since Feinstein had it it got to somebody somehow through her office. And I would agree with you that there should be censure at her age of eighty whatever it is. They're not gonna launch not gonna kick out of the Senate. But I think I think losing that position in the committee does make sense to me. I appreciate your brother. Very very interesting phone call. Let me go back to add line four. It's Robert in Kentucky. Robert Baker quick for me. What's up? Issue needed. Get off the idea that we can make energy from sunlight from win. Okay. Oh, electric got the electric wingo. Logano electric, electrical sun, and you're saying go down every night at least here in Kentucky. And then there's no sunlight in the night time. But they. Tehran is just replace the dynamos up the dam not far from where I'm at. They weren't stalled nineteen thirty six then Garry didn't take them out with burning out going bad. They just replace them with what they call it more efficient dynamo. But if you want more energy put it down station below the dam do not build new dams game down stations will take the runoff from the first dam and putting it through and regenerate more electric from that water movement. The right. And and the way the way that it works is the generators are actually powered by the flow of the water, right? Right. Yeah. No. It makes a lot of things to me. But the way solar power works. Also, let me just help you out with us. And I don't have any solar panels on my house or anything about it. But I mean, it's obvious that it's not only when the sun's out the sun is going to power the electrical grid or the or the battery storage when it is sunny out when the when the sun's up period, and then that storage will hold the electricity the energy that you need for the nighttime. It's not like when the sun goes down every day. You suddenly have no more power it stores like any battery would. And then when the sun does come out again, and the solar panels get electrified, they based start storing more than other words, they store more than you need. So you haven't when there is no sun. But I hear you coming from got to get out of your guy. Can't believe the three hours flew by for Martin for Ryan joepags. See you next week or the weekend. Yes is the weekend with joepags..

"Joepags busy broadcast day. We've got Ken Starr, the former special prosecutor on then President Bill Clinton that. Plus sheriff David Clarke a campus nuttiness from campus reform that more the Joe pags show today. Five NewsRadio twelve hundred w. Oh. Fake news gives you lies Hannity's applies. The truth. Sean Hannity is on right now. All right twenty five till the top of the hour, hurricane Florence making its way down towards the Carolinas. Wilmington even forgot went. Anyway, went a little bit north of where the original projections. Workplace like Jacksonville, but also Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, that's going to get hit expected. Now, they have evacuated Charleston, South Carolina, and it has been downgraded from cat. Paredo a cat to you still talking about gusts of one hundred twenty five miles per hour. Winds sustained one hundred ten miles per hour. Job a start. He is the chief meteorologist of the Sean Hannity show. He runs weather. Bell dot com is an as a veritable Cyclope mar memory when it comes to hurricanes in the history of hurricanes while you've called it. Right. You said it wouldn't really alter its course much. It hasn't maybe a little bit north, but it's on its way when does it land. How beds are going to be well, first of all we said Cape fear. It's going to be a Cape fear tomorrow at around noon questioned the battle still remain. On. And it's the same thing. Remember the day before when I was talking to you saying I think it's going to try to go down toward Cuba first before came up, and it took some of their strength out of it, the European generated computer model I've seen it do this four or five times predict the south jog and beat the US models, and it's being tested, again, the latest model takes it to where I was telling you yesterday. It turns south westward comes all the way down to Georgetown, maybe even a Charleston before it goes back, and this is different from what the US models saying. And you know, you look at this and you see run after run. And the reason the reason the European may be right to sit the pattern right now is such that could eastern northeast of the hurricane the big ridge that has been steering it breaks down completely. And there's a twelve at develops out east of Bermuda. Okay. So you to give them the jet stream of Bermuda. The new ridge develops right over Chicago. Now think about what the screen flow is between the the betrothal buckling out over the Atlantic and the upper high pressure reforming back to the west. It is a it is a. South west component from northeast to southwest. You see what I'm saying? So this hurricanes been in the stream it's a cork in the stream it's been coming north west that all collapses, and it changes to northeast and that means that by tomorrow at this time all the steerings collapsed. It may not want to push inland. So the last thing that has to do is drip, south west coast. This is very significant especially for the green.
