"A security camera and the equipment manufacturing plant in Salem, Ohio, some 20 miles from east Palestine. You can see what appeared to be sparks or flames under one of the cars as it passes the plant. The NTSB referenced the video at a news conference earlier this week. We have attained two videos which show preliminary indications of mechanical issues on one of the railcar axles. That second video came from a processing plant a mile down the track also in Salem. In front of that plant is a hotbox detector, which scans the temperature of the axles as the train passes, and sounds an alert if they're overheated. The crew did receive an alarm from a wayside defect detector shortly before the derailment indicating a mechanical issue. Then an emergency brake application initiated. The NTSB says there was an alert, but it is not known if it came from the hot box detector in Salem, or the next one down the track 20 miles away in east Palestine, where that derailment happened. And if the alert wasn't triggered when the train passed Salem, why not? Yeah. I mean, why not? Why were you forced to? This is an opinion show to do the work of journalists. Why is that? Listen, there's nothing, can I be candid with you? I'm fascinated by this story. One because I genuinely care about the people of Palestinian Ohio who are going to be suffering potentially for decades because of this massive environmental disaster as a human being I care. But there's a lot of other things too going on in the news. You got the classified documents scandal. You've got the UAP thing going on, shooting things out of the sky. This is a huge story. Why are we forced to ask these questions? Why aren't there media people out there? At these mainstream outlets that can just do things honestly. And the reason is, again, because Joe Biden is the president, they love Democrats. They're not sure yet if they should throw them over the overboard yet if he's saying he's a competent candidate. So they're just kind of ghost in the story. Now, was it a mechanical issue? It appears likely. Now, however, that doesn't necessarily rule out sabotage, sabotage. Why? Because some mechanical issues are caused by sabotage. I mean, someone cut your brake lines. It's a mechanical issue. You had no breaks, but there's a reason you had no breaks. That's why I'm saying, I'm not accepting anything the government says at first glance, I'm going to need that backed up by data in fact. I don't have any indications it was sabotage. However, I do find it awfully strange that there's been a lot of labor tension in the rail business, the local lob. A reporter from news nation was locked up trying to report on this incident, I mean, it sounds to me that they're trying to hide something. Newsweek reported. Moment reporter arrested during Ohio train derailment segment goes viral. It was a news nation guy. My opinion, having been to police officers generally never a good idea to arrest the reporter. Why, Dan? I mean, if they're breaking the law and it's causing it serious problem, then yes, but it's not a good idea. Why? Because of the streisand effect. Damn, they're subject to the rules like everyone else. I get it. I get it. I'm with you. A 100%, I understand. I'm simply suggesting all the reporters going to do is go afterwards after he gets out, you know, 5 hours later, he thought less and gets a DAT, a desk appearance ticket. He's going to go on his news network and he's going to get more clicks on the story than if nothing had happened at all. So it seems kind of strange that they were eager to lock this guy up and then I'm thinking of this story I saw in The Guardian. It was all over. We reported on it before. Remember the rail union, the train rail union was that ongoing negotiations with the Biden administration and right before the midterm elections, Biden took a victory lap. Do you remember this folks? Biden was like, look, this is so great. We got the rail unions to come to the table. We got a new contract. Look at me. I'm the Scranton kid. I'm a middle class Joe dirt under the fingernails, Joe. Street neighborhood fighting champion after I defeated corn pop for the middleweight title back in 1922. Look at me, the lunch bucket Joe guy, and then we found out later that there actually was no deal. Folks, there's a lot of labor strife going on right now. Now, am I suggesting to you that that's involved that somehow someone involved in this labor strife is involved in this attack? I'm not. Am I suggesting to you that the labor strife is real? Is happening? And that there would be a potential motivation for someone to create a hazardous situation to make the case look. You better acquiesce to our demands more. This hazardous situation is going to creep up. Yes, that doesn't mean that happen, but it means that any sane person involved in the news business, opinion or otherwise, would consider that and call it my investigator mind or what I like to, I'm always searching for motives. Now, if it was a mechanical issue, you don't have to search for motors. It was no motive. It was a mechanical question. However

"Struggling early on to figure it all out. And it was all in the context of comments that he made regarding issues he's had. Wait for it. Catching the football. The guy didn't play football last year. It's just not easy to go that long of a time without playing football and just think you're gonna hit the ground running and here we go. What I'm concerned about is they're talking about him having trouble getting off press coverage. Because if you're wide receiver, you can't beat press coverage, you do two things. You coach or you sell cars. Chase silenced those doubts last season, and now the Bengals believe he can make even more noise in 2022. Today, the athletics Paul daner junior tells us how the team plotted all off season to make that happen. He wants to win the Triple Crown, receptions receiving yards and touchdowns. He wants to lead the league in all of those, and does that sound a little crazy? Maybe, but it also sounds a little crazy to see that guy do what he did last year. Plus, the outlook for chase, Joe burrow, and the Bengals. Following a dream season, where they came up just short. From wondering, I'm Tiffany osinski, it's Wednesday, August 17th, and this is the lead. Paul daner, junior, welcome back to the lead. It's good to be good to be back. Thanks. Yeah, thanks for being here. So Paul, you've been covering the Bengals for a while. You're from Cincinnati. So has there been a different vibe around this team in since you coming off that run to the Super Bowl has all of the success gone to the fans heads? There's an understatement of the century right there. Yeah, no, this city has never been more alive and in love with the Bengals than any time that I can remember. And that dates back to the last time they were in the Super Bowl back in 1988 season. So it's been forever. I mean, they had gone 31 years without winning a playoff game and there was kind of a negative vibe around the whole team and they have gone from really the depths of their connection with their own fan base to lowest season ticket sales they'd ever had to really where they were kind of viewed as a joke and almost a problem in the community, you know? To now being as beloved as they have ever been, there's a waiting list for season tickets and everybody has a Jersey or you see them around town wearing the Bengals gear. It never used to be like that. And so it tells you the Joe burrow Jamar chase effect is very, very real and yeah, this city has never been more in love with the Bengals. New team, new stadium named new outlook on life. I love it for Cincinnati. As for the guy we're focusing on today, Ja'Marr chase, how has he looked in training camp? Yeah, I mean, he's been spectacular, honestly. It's unfortunate, you know, we have a line that says never be a meme. And you never want to be a meme at any point. There was a video that went viral of Jamar chase making a ridiculous one handed catch in the person that it went viral from shot it just a couple spots down from where I was sitting and he makes this ridiculous one handed catching it catches me looking back with this look of just like, oh my goodness, that's ridiculous and I've never had my face frozen and sent back to me more than it did in this and it was that's the perfect description of what it's like watching Ja'Marr chase right now. He's just ridiculous. I mean, in every day he does something that makes you make that face. That's just wow, this dude is you saw it last year and he was so good and he just blew away everyone's expectations. Honestly, he looks better in camp this year and he looks like he has progressed and nobody really works harder. He's always the last one on the field, catching extra balls, doing extra drills. And there seems to be no let up in his game. That's for sure. As the Steelers fan that is not what I want to hear, but that's okay. Now, chase made some headlines a few weeks back in a GQ interview saying he bought clothes for Joe burrow, paraphrasing a bit. He said that burrows not really in a fashion. He's cool with his quote little khakis and skinny jeans. Now, chase just asked about this by reporters in the locker room and here's what he had to say. He's talking about why I said about him close. So that's what the first thing he talked to me about. Was that a lie? Kinda, yeah. I ain't buy Joe no close. But now I have to, since that's out now. So. He admits that he was lying about buying Joe burrow clothes. How did burrow respond to that? And what can you tell us about the dynamic between chase and burrow? They have a really interesting dynamic. Well, one, not only were they former teammates at LSU and had put together one of the greatest seasons ever in college football history. Their neighbors now. I mean, they came to town in Jamar wanted a house on the street, so he went specifically and had his realtor and him go looking door to door to find how can we get some houses on Joe's street and they were able to get house on Joe street to their neighbors so they can go right down the street if they need to. You know, drop off some cookies or some clothes, right? I mean, it seems like they do have this connection. And the one thing about that, though, that really, that's an on the field element. It was last year, Jamar chase made a bunch of headlines. He was struggling in the preseason and he wasn't catching the ball. And he was kind of under fire and he admits he was in his own head a little bit. Well, there was one person that was never putting him under fire, and that was always in his corner, privately, and publicly. That was Joe burrow. Anytime anything was asked behind the scenes about, hey, what's going on here with Jamar with the drops and this and that? And Jim, I'll be fine. Jamal be fine. Just wait, jamaar be fine. Knowing when to prop him up, knowing how to be there for him. It's just a dynamic that they've had since the LSU days and one that certainly showed off last year. And I think is going to continue to show up again this year. It's a special connection. I can only see them now with Harry nilsson's best friend playing in the background. Whenever I see those two together, I'm just going to be hearing that song in the background. That's it. That's it. It is, you know? And you see it all the time. Jamar is always the one that in an interview will needle Joe and take shots at him. Everybody else burrows got a pretty big persona here. Inside of the Cincinnati locker room, people aren't quite as quick take those shots, but Jamar is never hesitated. He's always willing to kind of poke fun as you heard with the lying about the clothes thing. It goes back to that same thing. He's never afraid to mess with burrow in any way. So Paul, on this episode, we're going to take a closer look at how the Bengals are planning for even bigger things for Jamar chase this season. But before we get there, can you take us back to last year around this time when things were actually not going smoothly for chase, which you mentioned a little bit already? Can you tell us a bit more about what the narrative was around chase heading into last season and remind us why the narrative was there in the first place? The narrative was bust. The narrative was this dude can't catch the narrative was uh oh, did the Bengals blow this? Because let's not forget. They had one of the most controversial picks of that draft in taking Jamar chase because they had a team that needed offensive line help in a big, big way. And there was penne soul sitting right there. Everyone had sort of pegged him to the Bengals. Clearly a team that needs offensive line help would take this awesome tackle. And they didn't see it that way. They saw it as Jamar chase can help the offensive line just as much as anybody else because his ability to get open so quickly and be so dynamic and they can fix the offensive line. In other ways and they took shots. They took a lot of heat for that pick and then when Jamar chase shows up and isn't playing well, it felt like this could be a disaster,

"Movie on a tablet then sit in a dirty see to eating popcorn that has been touched by myriad hands full of if not covert than rat food and i have an opportunity to have great sound. It's just different. Movie theaters mattered. When you were on a four inch black and white. tv and it wasn't available now. The price of tv's has gone down toward has gone down to. I can explain to myself spending thirty dollars to watch black widow so easily. It didn't even take a second to hit. Go on that movie. Because i wanna be i i want to not wait. I don't wanna go to a theater and it's a movie that interest me now. Will i spent thirty dollars on. Jungle book or jungle cruise with rock. Even though i love emily blunt. Love love love but not enough for thirty dollars to watch the rock. Go down the nile. Speaking of emily blunt she's in a quiet place to in paramount plus is approaching theatrical releases. A little bit different. They all are. Hbo max's decided. We're going to swallow some of the The the lost revenue from jazz being exclusive to the movie theaters especially with titles. That are coming out in the fall. Hopefully when we're getting even better with the vaccination like the matrix reboot and they're just saying if you subscribe to. Hbo max you'll get them for free with hbo. Max subscription for thirty days. And then you'll have to wait a little bit of a period before it comes back economics of that right so they get people to spend ten bucks a month. So you're spending one hundred and twenty dollars a year to get. Hbo max and what you get is in your mind you get all of this catalogue but you also in your mind get. I look at movies without having to go to theater so instead of spending ten dollars at a theater where the studio only gets a portion of that you can actually create your own content. Put it out on your own. Channels and capture all of the revenue. It's a total money grab. It's totally brilliant and it's never gonna change so all cova did is. It made the slope of this change. The angle changed in that. It's all happened. Faster than i suspected a would but this is where the industry was going anyway so we talked about. Hbo max's strategy. We talked about disney plus a strategy which seems to be the market leader right now and how to do this paramount plus as an interesting strategy very quickly after a film has been released in theaters. They weighed about a month and then it gets released on paramount. Plus which is why quiet place. Most people listening to this right now. Probably don't know that the sequel to a quiet places available if you subscribe to paramount plus what you think that strategy will. There's also movies down paramount plus the new mark wahlberg movie. I watched and reviewed on nothing personal. That cannot remember for the life of me what it was called but it was totally insist should just be called the new mark wahlberg movie because it's all that matters when they hide your mother for wouldn't it be great if that were the title to movies just the new keanu reeves movie. Don't even know the name. Yeah by the way there's a new nicholas cage movie. That is getting legitimate praise. He dropped out of tiger king amazon and he dropped out of tiger king because it was a movie of the moment and he doesn't want to do it anymore. There was an interesting g. q. Article written truffle pig though right it's called pig. Yeah where he plays like a portland area chef that has decided to move back to the simple life. Andy's a truffle farmer in someone takes his beloved pig. It kind of feels like mandy like oh. This is eccentric and i loved mandy because i was maximum cage. But this is a little understated for nicholas cage and only a couple of to build up stick crescendo. And he is getting some legitimate oscar. Buzz oh no round. There's no okay. Though i heard a rumour and i don't know whether it's true but maybe you guys do that. Nicholas cage has announced that he is purchasing every single pig in the united states. What that's what. I heard that has to be faked. It's not only fake news. I don't know why he would do that. It's a terrible joke. it's dead now. I have to explain the joke. Nicholas cage is famous when he gets involved in projects. He buys all these crazy things with his money. Whether it's castles or cars t rex artifacts t rex bones. Any goes broke. Which is why you can't name a movie. The nicholas cage movie. Because there's so many movies that you have to be more specific. But i guess if i had to explain it it's not funny. It's not one last thing on black widow. I came away with. It really surprised that i enjoyed it so much because it really into that character. The really wasn't much to the character. Scarlett johansson had a quote to the effect of. I was basically in the avengers movies as i candy to which i said scarlet. Have you seen chris hemsworth. Have you seen captain america's ass. No there was. I gain in that movie. You were tertiary part of that for me. She had this solo movie kinda solan from her. I felt because he on samba cast was so strong and obviously because of what happened to the black widow character. Being this movie is set in the past and there really isn't a future for her character. If you've seen endgame it kind of seems like the spin off characters are going to go off on their own story arc. So i kind of felt like black widows movie was so out from under samson saying the black widow can get reborn like. That's it sampson. Such a sucker for scarlett johansson. That he's not gonna let anyone take her movie like that. I don't i don't even know if he has interest in this genre he's just got interest. This should have been called for him. The latest scarlett johansson movie. I admit it and by the way. I admitted proudly her and i hate colin. What's his name. Joe street respecting expect. Not really congratulations to the happy couple. Thirty nine hundred. I a shots she is she is expecting. I believe i saw someone. Call them. America's royal family and like. What are we doing. Jerry did you see. Prince william era up the the the son of princess diana. Who's the guy who's going to be king. Charles william yeah. Did you see him. At the end of the italy. Italian i saw i saw funny meme that was The royal family holding their small child and is and it said like this is what it looked like. When bruce wayne's parents left the theater you looked happy. I mean i get a family member pass away. And he's got frame of reference sally for that. I love sports. And i love the feeling the emotion and that's what drives the revenue and drives the asset valuations. But i was looking at that. And i was thinking man..

"This is really very controller controlling and abusive very modest situation. Meantime autumn was making plans for her future with the boys. Autumn's family says when it came to her mental and emotional health. They knew that it had to be all hands on deck. They took turns checking in on her on an hourly basis. Reminding her to look forward. Focus on the positives and remain confident that they would still have a bright future together. I told jalen tell her to start journaling so she can get it out of her head onto paper and so she started writing prayers onto paper. And i will fight for my son and i will do whatever it takes to get my baby back my precious babies her gifts from god and thank you for them and thank you for my family and thank you for everything. She would've bubble wrapped the earth for her children and autumn able to remain optimistic about getting her boys back because she didn't believe she was a suspect in the child abuse. I think to walk around that thing and we would. we would go because it's always populated somewhere where we felt safe deny before she died her nanna says she was in great spirits because she had a plant and we know from episode one when autumn set her. Mind something. she wouldn't let anything stand in her way. Whether that was losing weight or returning to high school to earn her diploma. Hernandez gioia leah says. Going for walks was what autumn did to recalibrate and get healthy in both body and mind. We had mapped out a plan for her. She was doing everything she was supposed to be doing the courts but we were going to go above and beyond what they asked to prove to them that she really generally loved and cared about. And i don't think anybody doubted that or that. Anybody even thought shannon that even her case for after that came out for me she said.
