Kurt Schlicter's Advice for Voting in Future Elections and Winning

"We lost. We got our asses kicked. And I want to ask you if you could do one thing, and we're going to skip everybody I have heard, agrees we need to do early voting and ballot harvesting, okay? Good. Let's do that. That's not enough. What do we need to do past that? Oh my gosh, there are a wide range of things. First thing I would sit down and do is take advantage of the time we have. And do some deep thinking about this because there is a lot of stuff. Let's start with the big picture, voters. We need to be more strategic. Stop voting with your heart all the time and vote with your head, some of the time. Doesn't mean you always elect Mitt Romney, but sometime you have to decide, you know, I would like Joe blow, but maybe Joe Smith might be more likely again elected. You've got to be strategic. I think people misunderstand principles. Here's my principle. I win. I win. You lose. Yes. Yes, that is my principal. I love the people going, well, you know, Lisa Cohen, correct about the election system. Well, you have to take power to do that. And that requires Harry Potter wand. Well, and part of it, okay, if you look at Arizona, we have to accept the fact that it's as bad as they did and tried to prove to everyone that that they want to make it look as much like a stolen election as possible. In the end, the lower ballot candidates were winning big time and one as many votes as the Democrat who beat Carrie Lake. So I don't know how that's going to turn out. And I don't want to create a fight. But we need to accept the fact that our message is not getting through. Yes. And we need to look at where that message worked and didn't and figure out who the correct messenger is.

The Nuts and Bolts of Purchasing a Suppressor With Brandon Maddox

"We sort of hopefully laid out the fact that a suppressor is simply nothing more than an accessory used to lower the decibels. Less recall. Again, no problem here. It doesn't improve accuracy. If you can't shoot straight, you got a problem to start with press ring on helping. These kind of things like rain shooting that kind of thing. But now we also laid out that it's very hard and I'm gonna say very hard. I'm gonna make that statement, you don't have to. So if ATF is listing blind Doug Collins, not Brandon matics, okay? I think it's way too hard to purchase a suppressor in this country. And especially with the paperworks out of it, and you brought up something just a minute ago that many of the class very losses, those kind of thing, they use a trust. So let's start off at ground zero. If you're looking at this right now, do you have to do an elaborate setup if Joe Smith out there listening to the podcast, and he said, you know, I've had this 9 millimeter. I have this other one. I want to put a suppressor on it. Do they have to go set up a big financial situation to do it? Has that gotten better? Walk us through that. Yeah, good question. So I should almost take a step back. The best analogy that I've come up with is think of buying a suppressor is very analogous to say buying your truck. The only difference is you get to leave the lot with your truck. And obviously with a suppressor you don't. But in simplest terms, it's a title transfer. So the title of ownership of the suppressor per the ATF is in our hands. So when a suppressor is made, and if we're the manufacturer, it's in our name, or if we buy one, it's put into our name through the other dealer. So we hold title to the suppressor. All the paperwork we do we're asking the feds to retitle the ownership from us the dealer to you the customer. And they'll do a background check to approve that. And once they approve it, the silencer central's business model is we mail it to your front door. So we're fortunate to have licenses in all 42 states where the suppressors are

"Other people's opinions. Other people's rights. And freedom. You do what you gotta do. Nobody's putting you at risk, get all the shots get the boosters. If that's what you believe, it's gonna protect us. It's told by certain parts of the science community that that will protect fine. I'm not disagreeing. I'm not. People have been vaccinated. And I'm not saying that any one's life should be put at risk. What I was saying is, obviously, he does, he does what put people's life at risk. Hither, but he believes that you have the choice of protecting yourself with your science, besides you choose to obviously believe in. He has the right to. The science out there as repeat myself of people that say that if you have the natural immunization, you protect it. You're protected, and that you better protect it that you can with the vaccine. So he has the right to follow that science. He has that right. To follow that science. And to be respectful, that if the law says you can't go into a certain way, if that's what the law says, you can't go into a certain place without shown, proof, he will go in there. He's wanted to do that. He's wrong to give that up. Yep. Yep. Well, Terry, this was a fun one. Thanks for doing it. Appreciate everyone for tuning in and one more thing. Please, if you're a religious person, prayers up for my friend Lin Kelly with their heart transplant and pulling for her man beautiful person inside and out. And with that teddy, I will see you next week and we'll discuss the Francis in Ghana surreal gun heavyweight battle of the Titans. Yes, we will. And we will not. "Atlas. How are you feeling teddy postcard? Oh, good. I mean, thank God my old family added, but thank God. I mean, people that heard us talk about it have reached out and asked in how I am and how my family so I appreciate you people. Appreciate you every day. Appreciate who you are, what you are, what you care about very much. Don't take you for granted, put it that way. I don't take good people for granted. Never have and don't plan on doing it. And one of those good people is in front of me, as you said, Sam, Sam of Arab appreciate him very much. You know, I want to, when I talk about, I buy a ticket. I finish with this, that I would buy a ticket for. Better BF and Joe Smith, because obviously the styles they demand the good fight because when you match up the right styles, you know what, if you know what you're doing, you know, if you're gonna get a sleepover you're gonna get a good fight. If you know what you're doing and a business of matchmaking. And it is an ought to know how to match make properly. But when I think about better be of and Smith and that type of style against each other, I'm talking about the expectations being at the love of like a gatti wood. I'm not saying anything of a reach, is that again? But there's always a chance that it does reach that again. I'm talking about a Castillo Corrales. I'm talking about an alley Fraser. You know, that when you got the right styles together, you have a chance to reach that place. To get to that kind of fight. And the only thing I've finished with that led a green says that Thursday, I have to do another, you know, I do these with the dynamic striking I do these instructional videos. And they're good. By the way, they're phenomenal. If you are out there and you're stuck at home with COVID and you want to learn a few basic punches, you can learn all of them, but if nothing else, you can have teddy walk you through a tutorial of every single punch in the arsenal. I think he's got like 55 different jabs, hooks, uppercuts, dynamic striking, search teddy outlets. You can buy those videos, download them, watch them at your leisure. Combine it with fight camp and you'll be the frigging world champion in the next 6 to 12 months. I guarantee it all teddy will refund you for your fight camp purchase. Was that too much? No, no, no, no, but you'll be the one. So today you put it up with I appreciate very much and you offered it. So and be that you are can write out the man who bats his own barber, the man who takes private jets to where he's going. Even if it's only a four hour drive. So I figured Tony it's only right. Thursday that I appreciate what you said, but Thursday what I was going to say is that we're going to do a new one. We're going to do a workout, where with me, where once we get it edited and everything, I hope it's as good as I want it to be. And I plan it to be. I really do. But we're going to have old fashioned workout with me kind of pushing it to that workout. And on that day, I'm going to make sure that and I already told my wife that make sure we have enough athletic greens, because when you do these videos, you got to work. You got to work. I mean, my man, Kenny robles, and he's a great guy. And he's a professional, you know, foxy was a Golden Globe champion. He's 9 and one as a professional good fighter, but also a good person. That's why he works with me. It's my choice. And I choose to work with good people. And anything I do. And to me, that's always at the forefront of anything else. So I'm going to have to sweat a little bit. You know, I'm going to have to burn up some calories and be able to keep it together for maybe four or 5 hours by the time we get finished for the day. You know, doing it all when it's all done to work out before 5 minutes. But it takes a lot more to get that done and to put it on camera. So I'm going to need energy. And I'm going to need to fill at the same time not bloated. Shop as best I can at this point in my life. Now I'm not can write out running marathons every other day. But I have to be ready as best I could be ready. And I'd let a green stuff help me do that. So having said that, let's move forward. You move me right into. You know, one other thing I got to say I just thought of, you talk about the cell to experience Celtic fence. Yeah, and I saw that picture of you and your beautiful, you have a beautiful family you have a daughter and three sons, but you're beautiful three sons and your daughter's beautiful too. With their get ready to go to basketball games the other day, I don't know if they were getting ready to go to the game or going to practice, but I notice that you probably use some of that influence because you have influence now. You do that face it. I mean, you're either recognized and that people want to be around. People want to do favors for. So you must pour in some kind of something to get how did you get your son's teams, all of them, because their different ages named the Celtics. Go ahead. Talk your way out of that one. That's funny about those jerseys. Early when they were really young, I forget what game we went to, maybe a hockey game. And I said, oh, look, there was someone had the Jersey on like a Gretzky Jersey and I said, oh, guys, look, there's Gretzky's in the stands. What is he doing on here? You're supposed to be ready for the game and they thought it was the funniest thing that the guy had on someone else's thing..

"I'm not sure they're gonna give their own arm up, you know, New York. That's not New York style. But I love New Yorkers. I'm one of them. But yeah, you're preaching to the choir. Do you remember the time when the bruins played the rangers in the 70s and they got in a fight on the ice and someone threw something at one of the bruins and the bruins entire team jumped into the stands and were fighting with the fans and you think the fans were running for the hills, nope. They would just came down and it was like a full on melee. And you know, like two or three cops in the 70s, you know, trying to push people back with hands and one of the bruins takes a guy shoe and it's hitting him with his own shoe. Man, it was crazy the hockey in the 70s was like the movie Mad Max free for all anything goes. There's a reason for that saying I went to I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out. Right, I mean there was a reason behind coming up with that saying. Yeah, for sure. Well, listen before we get into the Emmett before we get into the UFC and speaking of how competitive their fights are, they put on another barn burner. It was a bit one sided, but my God toughness on display to Eddie every week before we get into it though, let me give a quick shout out to our number one sponsor. Everyone's favorite athletic greens, teddy and I are both now fully recovered from COVID. I credit athletic greens with a big part of that. They always make sure we get an all the ingredients that we need. You can eat a healthy diet, you can eat a low calorie diet, whatever you wanna do, but if you're taking athletic greens at a very minimum you can rest assured that you're getting 75 whole food sourced ingredients. It's got your vitamins, minerals, prebiotics, probiotics, antioxidants, everything that you could possibly need in a multivitamin wrapped into one. It tastes great. You shake it up with some water..

He's to people like oh suddenly. Yeah st francis roy. Who are these guys. Yeah both kind of busts. See francis have kind of debt base. They were okay but yes. Kind of a bus agree with that. Yeah based on. Like the potential see francis. He was like an athletic fina but like any scored allow limousine in iverson style guy. He was explosive. Joe smith would say it was more of a boston. St francis a little bit but he had a solid career. joe smith. Yeah also those guys. It's funny because you like like. Oh what a bus and to him. It's like well listen. I was only. I wasn't highly recruited. Came out of nowhere maryland a year or two and then i was like a backup for most of my career but like i was pretty sweet. It's pretty good. "This is exactly how jonathan writing eleven books okay so long strategy. What an observation Traffic how many people out there are who And cost allies. I can't put out towards how many out there talk about all of these topics and white books or whatever about these topics and like don't actually understand them. So there's lot of business coaches that don't have businesses thing and there's a lot of life coaches whose lives are not an order. You own like kind of not that well put together. There's a lot of right. Empowerment coaches female and male like not body awareness Doctorate word but like body empowerment coaches. Who have serious problems with their own body and having come to terms with that yet like like. This is not an uncommon thing because oftentimes the things that are most vivid to us in a mirror of things that we struggle with the most. And so in trying to deal with it yourself. You talk about it. And then because you're the one talking boat something you start to get seen as an expert on that thing because most people just don't articulate their thoughts and so if you're the type of posts enough confidence or you just type person to a ticket your thoughts then all of a sudden you become the expert in that thing because you were talking about it even though you might really struggle with it and then you kind of get caught in this trap of like having to actually help others with a thing that you don't even know how to solve for yourself this. Are you trying to better understand you lotto. Is that why you're about to talk about it. 'cause you want to. I'm certainly trying to better understand jim. Ownership okay can you get through your story because kettles got stripper stories. And i don't wanna use a too much time on his ice cream about do. Can we move on please. Like that's all i have been about it ever since i think those temendous opportunity in brick and mortar in imposts particularly localized community based in post and businesses. Right now. i think that there's more opportunity than there's ever been in the fitness industry for people who have stable businesses and understand online looking into able to build multiple income students out of the space. I think that there there's more opportunity now than there's ever been in my life and the reason for that is a combination of factors that i've never seen before which is food unavailable in cheap commercial property. Yes yes and easy to negotiate and you're not locked into type of contracts that you used to be locked into more awareness of the importance of physical fitness and health and fitness in. There's have been nowhere near where we want to be. But more awareness news ever been people willing increasingly to spend money on fitness and on premium fitness offerings than they ever have been because of the pandemic a lot of businesses have gone under as they less operators and more demand than there's ever been which means that the supply and demand is in your favor and then the final piece of the puzzle is because fitness has been de nonessential argue. That as much as you want reality of it is fitness has a non essential. Take right now which is bullshit. But it's because the fitness industry is really weak lobby and didn't fight hold enough but fitness has a non-essential tag which means the precedent has been set. And it's not going to change. That fitness is non essential the next time that another shutdown happens which will happen because again though now precedence for shutdowns the next time that a shutdown happens fitness is going to open up last again as is legitimate precedent for lenders and land owners to either not give loans or leases or give much worse terms and have much more stringent conditions to people operating a fitness business. Which means it's going to be way harder for. Joe smith the trainer who was always good with clients but doesn't have a lot of money to get a loan to start a fitness business. Which means competition will stay low and all of these things coalescing and there's more talent available now than there's ever been because a lot of people have left particularly the large commercial operations. A lot of people have left those operations now free agents so all of these things kind of coalescing. I see tremendous opportunity. I see tremendous opportunity to poachers commercial property. I see to this opportunity to operate a brick and mortar business at a premium price and operate everything from continuing education create a continental there have offices out of there have a small gym out of their same time and the gelato thing is basically met somebody who has an absolutely stellar motto for july when we have great posted to run it and so it may operate at the same location. It might not but a lot of things just like. I don't know it's a business that i wanna see in my neighborhood and the next stage of my cou is going to be one that's going to be defined as what businesses that i really wanna see exist in the world right way can build it and lead from the front. Because i feel like. I've done enough talking about stuff in books and that what i wanna do for the next day of my career show people. What's possible by you live in a neighborhood. You really want contribute. I really want to contribute to my neighborhood. I really want to build up my community. There's a bunch of things that i want to exist in my community. Supporting the people building businesses for the right thing and community into business. And i'd love to show that it can be done. I love that you're going to build your own personal sesame street. That's awesome cannot be like the big bird character value. Wanted to be bigger tall enough. But i got on yellow today. Would make bar doesn't say a whole lot like you know it's ironic big bird on the whole of sesame street only one or two characters have any discernible. Catch phrases in the count with his laugh. that's like the only one that these can raise. Yeah he does say cookies. Yeah that's right and bert saint rubberduck your though one rubber ducky. Oh so. that's the only one that's to be other trainers on the show one. You're the ones you make training. Lots of fun. Yes were so in love with you on the podcast before we get too deep in the context of this of this podcast. I've already forgotten topic by the way in the office looking her. So much. real nonsense live this ideal for you is what this is why it's important to continue to mind our listeners that they are not paying for this show. This is the show this is it. "Talk of my next guest to the show. He's coming to us from tampa where he covers the tampa bay lightning for the athletic and its first his first appearance on the pod. Thanks so much for joining us on such short notice. joe smith. How's the atmosphere atmosphere before game. One joe down there. It's pretty crazy adding considering fans that watch last year's cup run in the bubble. You know you could definitely tell the energy where they opened up a sixteen thousand three hundred grand tonight shelby. probably more than that in the stands but just kind of atmosphere game seven against islanders. It was as lot as i've heard it a long time. So i'm going to tell the ready for something essentially special here with this group. Jude fan base down. There is still sorta underrated when compared to other families. I've been plenty of games. The i think it's outstanding. I think it's still might have. Might have a little that florida stigma. But do they get their proper. Do the fence. I think for the most far sometimes people who haven't been down here. Evan you know washington kinda grow the last number of years. i mean. they've sold out two hundred fifty straight games. You know and nineteen thousand. Plus in the whole thunder alley outside is packed in the tv. Ratings are through the roof so This is a very passionate fan base year. I think there's a raise. Don't draw people the stands. I think people might clump them together. A bit but the lightning everson jeopardy took over two thousand tennessee. Vitamin has really been Pretty glass and you see the fans combined andrus wash play now we we chat beforehand. How long have you been covering the team for Since the first year was the fourteen fifteen run to the cup line allows the backup writer paper there at the times of ten to fourteen so i was there for the first round in eleven to the conference final against boston and then took over fulltime and Fourteen season. what's funny. Is that that lost to boston. In two thousand eleven there win was very similar in game. Seven against the islanders was one nothing. It was an amazing hockey game and it was in reading what you wrote about this team. After that game like it shows kind of the guts they have and they can play you know high flying skilled offense but they can also buckle down and grind out. Shallow wednesday proven. So you've seen this happen over time and it's a long way of asking it all goes back to getting swept by columbus. Everything changed after that It did i mean it took you know junk. uber's asset. They won the cup. Last year was biggest change and what helped the most he goes heartbreak. There's one word and you know they have been kind of like the greatest show on ice for several years regular season success and they made some runs. of course the combined fifteen sixteen conference final but they had to learn how to win blends of the ice defensively We started to see their or players. You know learn that buy into it. In addition they made the past couple seasons bartlett road blake coleman. Were abuse arts. Pat maroon A huge fart. Both inside the room and out You know last year. I was against tough guy. So all the guys evolved into where you win. One of the games goal that much in a game. Seven against allender. Is i think it was that close know They didn't have the upper nineteen minutes. So is really shows how far they common. Why they david chance to you know to win here even know my fellow gives them activist acrobat. I think one of the names. You mentioned pat maroon. You wrote an article and the reason why we loved getting the beat writers on is because you have such a close connection these players and can get stories out of them because of the access you get this story blowing up. And i'll read the one of the quotes from it. I know if you're a progressive site from former teammate. Troy bodey said. I don't think you can print a lot of them. Although it stories about pat maroon so i imagine you heard a bunch of them that you probably john the floor and some of which you printed was you know. It was a hilarious article of thanks. The abbey almost colorful characters that you'd had him on this show in nhl and very important and glue guide every team the blending don't to come the last without a guy like that But all the different stories from his teammates from the st louis bandits in in alabama and a huge. Aren't him you know he will quit hockey back with news. The phantoms guess at home by the flyers and thought about hanging it up but he has a young son. Like i can not do anything else. I got to do something with announcing gave it another chance. That it's amazing how the world works guy and Believe him in be himself as personality and all of a sudden these guys going to three straight cups so just a great story overall and now studios one so that you could include imprint on a progressive site. But obviously there's more More to come. I think with him when when you describe the article to anyone who hasn't read it. What's one story that kind of sticks out. Maybe that you could share. Guide was well other than like the the bar. Fight the parking lot at saint louis bandits where the chirpin with one of his teammates. Mike murray in their driven one guy there at the bar and they end up fighting the parking. Lot and mike murray. It ended up getting pretty hurt but then bannon his brother phil were chasing the guy down in the car and phil a golf club and he was trying to go after him but i think the the one that starts me was. He played for the saint. Louis van that they won a championship in alaska. Jon cooper and they lost the game before going to the championship. Game and kelly. Acs notably well. Do they write the game. You must tell him and said hey are you okay. We do this. He goes mr chase leading. Combat always waited alaska to lose. I'm not going to happen. And he scored three goals name when the champion shepherd so swagger the competence and skill Camera so how many house back. When he was working the half all i was wondering how did you hear where they're like. Yeah you probably shouldn't print that one. Yeah i heard you know. Obviously it's all right. I mean nothing. Nothing crazy so speak but there's whose life of the party guy who's you know A routine made and listen things out. There are definitely you know victims. Speed youth fifty and stuff like that. The enderle heard of before The nicknames have go around by that but yeah it's it's been fun to cover last couple years and helping mealey's here for next year and he played for a coupon time ago right when he was a kid maroon yeah. He said he was on the to that team. In one shot. I was right question. Data actually leading up to coop. He's the longest tenured coach and league currently seems extremely happy. Yeah why is he hit hit. Why's he been so successful in tampa. Joel well i mean. I think he's been successful everywhere he's win. You know every level from pushing high school in lansing which is threatening a day that a us hdl h. l. I think he just has a strong belief in what he wanna do. As a coach doesn't change stars overall he's a he's evolves of course but he hasn't changed that kind of mindset will kind team you like to have You know. he has support. Steve is vitamin that. "Did the puck hit the mesh and then they didn't dim blow it down. Because i felt that a couple lightning guys were like a that went out of place but yet they still remain calm kept the tight house and ended up pulling out and getting the job done. 'cause there was a few chances and few cracks for the islanders. Now i don't know i don't know if you even caught that i did in. Why is it. You said something once again yet once again. Nbc news follow up on it. They've been doing. I mean piss poor job this fucking last couple of series. Think terrible replays lack of replays that situation as mentioned it but there was no follow up there no replay. the rest. Didn't blow the whistle. But yeah everyone was pointing. I didn't see the. I couldn't see if it did hit the netting and it didn't it did at the end of the day not matter but going back to the idiot fans that was probably the perfect segue for this series given the way the island fans thrown the shit on the game. Six in the last game ever there. Even though they didn't know what the time. I order book up through. And no. I've never thrown a fucking half-full behalf. Bear on the is full gear. Anything like it's fucking stupid me and like those guys are whacking them with sticks. You catch your nose. Hit him in the i. It's not just to pick on the island is the tampa finishes the fucking noisemakers on. But i do think that is a little different. You're a loser for thrown south on the ice but those are like air. Plastic air bubbles. So i know it sounds fucking guy catches one up the fucking doesn't i don't even think it would do anything and not to mention fuck. You mentioned playing in the company and it's like do that the last game of the season if you're gonna act like an idiot i don't know i i have to agree in. The broadcast was hard on them too but like people were big mat online to come. It was stupid and it was trashed moved by scumbag fans. I understand it was. It wasn't like the bill that he was afraid to go out there. They don't wanna get hit by. And that was the line where islanders for the most sensitive fan group based in the world is like still trying to everyone does it. It's not going to hurt him. It's an empty can like first of all. There's no way all those empty second of all the star player who scored the ot winner is saying. I'm afraid to go on the ice. What are you doing you can i. Just don't i'm sure there's been plenty on his fans who've been like those people are clowns but a lot of defending going on people who weren't there it's like what do you defend but on the flip side. It did bring some funny memories. And i thought it was. It was a funny sendoff. Although yes appropriate it was appropriate. I think the the comment they had before we went over time when we went down. The tunnel smell like cigarettes and then after the game. It's not like beer and it. It just typical coliseum fashion. And that's how it all ended so as dangerous as it was. I thought it was very fitting and party can laugh if i was a player on the ice. Yes got clipped in the face or something but i would have been loving that and you know that game to go down to. Oh i would have been smoking sir. Here's having a party. I just grab one or drink the rest of it. Jesus christ dishonest fans are actually scumbags. God that arena. Oh my god what a dump but you gotta credit. What a dump. That's done you gotta cry. That's going to be the guy with the ball. He hired the construction. Let me tell you. I ended up just owning them again. In terms of calling everything. I call tampa seven. I said exactly what was going to happen. But there wasn't a part of me. And i would never ever root for someone to be injured. I went through that. I would never want to see it. But when they were throwing cans. I'm i i can't lie was going through my head. If they injure one of their own players right now. I will own them forever. Strength and listen. It almost happened. You saw a couple of guys. Dodgers of course like cans so still a pathetic. Wait for it to. But i was about to give them credit that game to go down to ohio and tie it up and then get the win off a huge pizza. I wanted coleman. I wanted to go to locker room and repent for that pizza the way i got ripped for all my pizzas but bolivia bobadilla excuse me i always mess up his name snipes that thing and it was a great effort by them to finish off the coliseums shipped career besides the early eighties four. We get to kucherov pissing blood because of mayfield's lumber crosschecks. How much would you pay to be. The guy who hits the button that implodes coliseum to put it the i wouldn't do it. It's it's dead my mind as it is already. it's already blown up. I mean empty campaign. I know i was expecting a funny answer and that was hilarious. I wasn't trying to be. this isn't about anyone else. But if they get another superstar like barzal and they gotta get pellet sign. They have a lot of things going to actually. I want to talk about game. Seven a little bit. But i got anders lee coming dating. Yeah that's your captain. I mean they should have thrown the cans at fucking jimmy fallon i mean. He's across the street at rangers games all the time and all of a sudden. He shows up in long island in the karate. Kid jan on the falkland island is like. That's just fucking fake. Man i mean you. You can't be like a range. Valentine's show up. I agree if you're a bandwagon fan. You're.

"Our industry. I think the bruins were great model. I think the blues or another model he borrowed from. Especially when you get really cross current like those two guys evanston dry like bruins fancy of love those guys they should you know i think. Those guys are just throwback sigrid but the thing is like you're playing four d. right like good luck next series if they want to kind continue twenty four minutes for four guys i. It's just they haven't played anyone like this. It's an amazing story. I don't think they're going to win. But it's one of those things once. I heard that montreal toronto any single time. They've played in the history of the playoffs. The winners won the cup. It's like all right. That might be honest. I know you're not a huge fan of the oliver's but you scum. That's the only issue miami fans i hate. Fan base is more than the teams if that makes sense elliott friedman comb the islanders light and the fans eight that to obviously elliott. Is they got better goaltender team. But i'm just wondering you guys not see similarities in the islanders play and the way the canadians would have been like the spiderman theme if they did play each other spider man pointing at each other. I was watching game. Seven between happened. York invicta myself. Okay this first period. Everyone's freaking out by amazon. Fourteen shots arquette. Six seven on there watching this periods myself. This period has being this period of being laid on. New york's earns. It's i don't care. Workers working shots on net and yet it was not one little half.

"It just because the canadians are already on a power play. You're not doing your job. And i thought it was farcical like three in for that. Biggest series were an absolute joke. If it would let those two guys officiate. After what happening game three in game four was a mockery and there's no accountability. Don masson hogan's series supervisor. I went looking for him in the press box. Oh love to got an answer from him. A what putting them back roughing signed by the way another time where. I did speaker series supervisor after playoff game evenly off game in the conference finals or no is the first round of layoffs montreal watching in two thousand and joe washington two thousand and there were three diving calls against montreal in game six. That's that they were trailing three one now one wedding snacks here ogle. Brian gionta called for diving with no tripping penalty associated through it. Like i was trying to look at hazard. How many penalties there have in in the tire. Susan let alone in game six and elimination being in montreal ackerman fifty three saves or whatever it is like that was insane. I remember speaking to syria. Supervisor keep disney name. And i remember standing like what the hell was that like. We'd never seen that me. Help these against one team for diving in one of those gates. Brian john those never been a diet or his life and i'd love. I'd love to see these penalty calls. You're calling a by by himself and sending them off the ice with tripping policy which never happens and he looks at me and goes well. I thought the officiating with the worse in alaska. So what are you guys doing. So there's no. I don't know i think fans once the are billion layers wanna see accountability to answer for the bad penalty. Whatever is around has a pale fine when a rookie officials. Let the officials for the supervisor. The supervisor per series land talk on the officiated the as you and revamped the damn system is broken. It's not working properly when nobody knows what he is. He'd work noreen late and stuff like someone getting punched in the face. Yeah it's been rough this playoffs. I ain't a couple quick ones foia on how many stitches did corey perry taken in his nose. And what was the extent of the damage. It almost looks like there's like knows met had been hanging off before they stitched them up. Six to eight and yeah. Oh that's it. What was like your four officials that are allowed all that allowed all rest throughout. Call it and it's played. It was if it wasn't a worm they probably would call a play on the pop. Like what else are you watching. If not that. i'm just makes no sense. Another thing that has driven nuts about officiating over the last couple years is the disappearance of goal that we never call it anymore unless it involves a goal that we're trying to decide if it's older guys are getting run over the crease. Nobody calls it. The play is one of the crease is fair game like carey. Price docking haas. Getting run into on a plate and there was no no penalty on it. So i just i don't know i just think there's a lot of stuff that you i'm sure of yours when this goes to youtube. Is that a painting or a video game behind you. And if still it. That's a painting of Scoring on andrew. Ray kroc and rakoff the seen it accurately and my wife needed to. She absolutely hates hockey But when we met a was she's a great painter. And i said what would you ping something hockey related. And she's like. I've never or about but jer. So she picked out a picture. Inge units agricultural with my favorite often. Brilliant job she did a by the question. are we gonna do. That's a no brainer. After you get a gift like that. I got one more to is that a bob marley t shirt or twenty soccer. There we go nice to honor after there was two other things i'd ask you about was disarm having to sit through covert protocol and then luke richardson stepping in and doing a tremendous job Some people have said that you know this this type of running what he's done for the t. Might lead them end up getting a head coaching job somewhere else. What are your thoughts on. All that i think i think executives would be willing to ignore the shortness of the sample size. Moog richardson and offering a dog out. Denied ventured said about being willing to go through a wall for lou. You've spoken obviously over the years with all of the benjamin's who he's been in charge of and just said you know like this guy will never pull out the rivi on the bench for a mistake. You make he's gonna encourage. You won't even say anything you've made him mistake the role you out in the next ship. And then he'll take you aside in the room after the period and say. Hey here's a couple of things. Whatever it is you see it just watching on tv. You're just an average fan. How calm back there under the most pressure awesome great Do charen to ours is really wrestling with is ominous in the way this whole situation now obviously installed the system canadians During view but both these guys are two of the most fortunate. Rookie around head coaches Ever look at their room but will get assets tori scotland's bench rods edmonton. Who we talk about this whole time. i'm jay gallon. Go down the list. "Or through. I think is a sample of how much he has been through what this means to him and i think he's gaining fans with it for sure. There was a lot of people who were lining up with pitchforks. Dwarf know he deserves the grace to a pretty great job with the majority of his tenure. Not a lot of people get their chances that he got that second chance twenty and eighteen. And wow way if this team wins the stanley cup. He made a joke about it. Saying i could retire. I think he'll be back for a few years. Christly the fan base was all over this guy. Even you a little bit on social media. That was that was not the best officiating we've seen in Do you think that was justified by the fan base. Yeah i think this guy is not had the office Over twenty years in. You know we're at a point now. I think we're at real point where gigi to do a real evaluation on officiating in the system in general not just the officials themselves. I personally i. I don't know if this is the solution. I've always believed that since we went to the two men system. There's a lot of inconsistency in what they call. I also think that they're always in the way. And the reason we had for guys in two linesmen when we went to officials is 'cause there was a lot of fighting a las that doesn't exist so Get one of the out of the way. Give three of them. The power to call the lions and the penalties and yet this thing sorted out in an layoffs. I think i'm like in between the old school unusual but like my belief is in the corners and in front of the net. You need to fight for your rights and if it's a battle where you're going to get a check or slack or whatever it is. I'm fine with that. I wanna do that. You'll want wanna see that. All i don't wanna see that deciding game but if you see a guy in a second retribution punch a guy like nick. Zucchini face rang front of the net. And you're turning your.

"The carrier all bag to to the truck like that's the kind of thing like you notice it on the road. I'm on the road. And i see j weber carrying his own bag truck on this became a thing but not only that every other guy in the room to do it because you just. That's the way he was raised. Nothing so it's just a sample like fuck is your weber. You talked about defenseman. Who can do it all petri and you saw how much they missed him in that first game against the vegas golden knights. Did you hear as to what maybe the injury was when he got it caught. And just i don't even know how the fuck they getting them from edmonton because that is an absolute but analysts steal. This guy's like top top ten defense in the world. Now yeah he well. He's incredible and i. I don't know if i rank him there but like maybe deserves to be there. We're going warriors or row or fears a row over forty points in this year and a fifty six game season. He caught his fingers in a in a slot. Where the the the cameras. And i was told he dislocated apple. Also surgery and i think they reset the bones in ended up in that situation where i don't know five screaming or yuqing or what but he i those blood vessels in all. I heard that the rumor i heard is that when they put the fingers back in he passed out basically shut his eyes so hard and the pain that he popped the blood vessels and passed out. That's what i've heard. Hope that's true. But i wouldn't surprise me one bit. That wouldn't surprise me either. Because i dislocated the finger on my right hand playing street hockey and i was. I was skating in the sand. Just woke up on the street. And i and i felt with while it's still holding my state and dislocated my fingers and i'll never forget when you set. It was an awful experience. Also say this. I got a castle. Manhattan's where it for like four weeks. And i was fifteen years old and his playing sports like an idiot and i ended up breaking the cast after a and a half and i was just using the fingers and the more that i was using them the better they were field so i don't know if he's feeling better now and compare my situation warrior. He's just it warrior yeah right by the edmonton thing. Like i did a pete late. I spoke to craig mctavish asset. It's one of the biggest. The biggest mistakes he's made in his career he still regretted that day wishes. Jeff well i thought while he was in edmonton wasn't treated very well knows brought in from college. Expected shutdown defenseman when he had only been in offense at our career. You're playing twenty to twenty five minutes of game straight out of college and with a team that had zero installation graham the you can irony very old story in edmonton about the fence in just being sacrificed to the fans and this guy was a whipping boy air. And we've got to a point where it was so bad where he literally go. Hunting with the ryan jones who was assisted made it home on just to get away like just to get away from from The the noise and you know. I think it was so hard on his family that sat down with him and his wife Situation you know. He said the one guy really really truly help them and was grave to handle. As steve smith and steve smith was running assistant coach running events at his own trials and tribulations. Everything really cost them the big own-goal in the ass aware that rest of his life and it's a mistake that happens in an instant and breaks dynasty. And we all know like euler still had a bunch of times tie game off and continue on with what we're doing but it's interesting to me that ends up being can also has this action with roger clemens. His wife and his dad. Roger clements play together but his wife bird her. Her father was coaching baseball or something. Roger roger was involved with something they're from houston and roger clements. Add a lot of advice for death. Injury that was basically taken over the years to build up his mental game and not get bogged down in the mistakes he makes. He writes down things that he dies so that he can forget about them in. So it's been a fascinating story coming to his own his thirties in this career after season the most important layer on that on that blue line obviously because without him boom they will get him wanting as vegas and since then they are now. Yeah i was. there with. Patriot was Steve smith who is an awesome guy. Great coach and i think he he understood that like this kids get treated like shit. He's young like you said what. What was the trade though who was cocaine back for.

"Ching hard hard hitting journalism around here. That's a hey listen no such thing as a dumb question because it leads all this pat on the back this way to go. Hey question though. you're waiting. I'm paul buddy just because it was price related going into the playoffs and giving away his season be honest. Did you think we're gonna see jake out at some point in the playoffs. No like i would gary brice. I always expect that when the games matter most he's gonna show up way. I know how much these opportunities needs. Only talk a couple of years ago about you. Know the reset and rebuild and and having to be kind of a witness to this youth coming up through the teen guys like suzuki cockamamie coffee in drafted. And it's kinda like you know. Run the back. Nine of my career. Do like i need chances to win. And i of course it excites me to see the young players coming. But i wanna see i. I can't imagine there was anyone in native organization was more excited about the guys that birds may added offseason spoke training camp. You looked at his team after going through the going through the practices birth practices training camp. Just said we need here and he was asked pastas after the game. Six win over vegas like you know how unbelievable was is this and he said perfectly believable like he genuinely believes canadians ad and he's a big reason. Why reasonable even i i just. I don't know. I would never bet against this guy in the playoffs ever Another guy is shea weber. I need to ask about and when when you talk about making trades the giant trade with sue ban in him. It's about making your team better a better chance to win the stand. The cop i think no doubt at the time like shea weber defensively of a better chance of winning with him for a little while they're su- bandits and big years in nashville didn't look great. It's flipped around now to where he's playing this mountain. Man hockey playoff hockey is he healthy. Finally is he just more often. What is kind of helped him. Really find his groove again there. I don't think he's healthy at all. There's like game into the playoffs with a busted left-arm household detour stuff in there in probably need surgery. I think he busted his right. One on on ryan reaves. First game of the bega series. And he just he's just like guys an animal you speak to. I did a piece for thousand games. Boca all his defense honors letters. You'll see your ryan suter bench.

Yeah i've had people bring that up a really not that long ago and i i loved writing i. I'm not sure. If there was anything. I i enjoyed more than when i was a newspaper reporter but i'm also realistic. That this is really what i do now and so i think the answer is it's highly unlikely. Do you miss it. "It takes time and you obviously have to create synergy with leaders The top players. And you know bruce. Arians talked about meeting with other top players leaders. You didn't get them input on travel practice time. That's going to make sure that they're feeling that part of the process and have ownership of it So there's a lot of not just one guy barking about culture and then it'll be all kind of following a line used to have guys that the whole group You have to define it. You know nick. Sabin says they don't have any sinuses when she championship or when national championship in the weight room. It's all about of process and all about kind of accountability units about You know competition and in that kind of thing. So i think you know defining what hoelter is creating synergy with the leaders. Your team your top players. The steph currys than the tom brady isn't laid down and then And just kind of being yourself and making you know you can't be somebody who you're not and that's guys believe it. They also believe that if they are so A lot of comments themes In those take time and those things are are hard to maintain. Won't they build another. They maintain it over the course of a number of years. That no recruiting that kind of thing. Joe i can't tell you how many times i've been in the locker room when there was a sign up and i know you've been in countless as well. I was struck by what nick saban told you. He doesn't use science. Pick up that part of the equation said like you know didn't have you know winch championship but when the or you know or be clemson in the locker or o'clock it's more so of things that are kind of said not put up signs and he's big process over outcome and so it's like windows play witness drill with this minute in time in the video session where it may seem like You know difficult for us understand. Because it's such a such a micro versus macro thought but that's how guys rambled to kind of do this every day I think it's one of the you said before. Was you know not. Everybody can play the new york yankees. Everybody can flavor alabama to kind of find the crew of the players that embody those values when you come bring them in to the school And that makes it easier as you bring these guys along and have them into that culture and that have your program. I thought as we as we wrap up. Joe smith and the athletic one of those interesting quotes came from kerr when he went as as most great coaches due to other great coaches or leaders for advice and he went to pete carroll. I believe To get some information. And he really did chiseling down to four very basic things he did and he was there and all the all the practices for for pete carroll and he told them hey most important values you have in your life in every day and that they were you know competitiveness joy mindfulness and compassion and they find little ways and everything they do to show that. Whether it's you know put money on the line for certain practice drills or playing music. The people like to have around the runs disabilities everything else. So i think those are things i really was struck by like you said Always guys learn from their mentors from bela schick and save into. You know magic. Talk to tom moore. And they'll check himself and Dallas sweeney and everybody else. Everybody has to learn from somebody and You know imitation is the highest form of flattery. Right and they'll help each other out along the way. Joe is a former sportswriter where where where. We're sports writers. Go for motivation. That's true. I mean if if you're a writer you like to read write and i. I love reading some of the best. And that's why they're thought colleagues leg to The sports illustrated to what i did with the school michigan with brady mcculloch delay time to read people with all the time to try to find inspiration and And people that you really enjoyed her reading that you hope to have some sort of some sort of talent to help to emulate them and do your own thing. No i would tell you joe. Even i don't do that haven't done it for a long time. When i was a young reporter it was the great writers. I was most starstruck around. It wasn't the coaches that i covered. It was those guys when they when they came into town from sports illustrated or wherever that i had the hardest time know walking up to them and introducing myself. That was nerve wracking to me now. I grew up in detroit. It mitch albom guy looked up to align grown up there. I remember going to like the lions press. One time i was like college and ap is small in stature but when the biggest names. And so i always had to muster courage to say. Hey mitch. I emailed when i was thirteen about you know getting into the business through my aol messenger account. You know this and that kind of thing. It's just like you're right you know you. Are you know you you hope. One day you'll be seen in that platform early still you and think you did an okay job joe. "Of guys. Like kerr. And and and i and i is reach out to them at that. Moment is dell was big on culture and process over outcome. And i figure it'd be kinda right up his his alley and they said time after i think recruiting part was kinda quiet and they had some vacation and then they set up a time with him for fifteen twenty minutes. Just talk out a list of questions. And i just fired away You know use difficult saving. You know like close talking about that behind the scenes process and and try to sell probably his program to get sold at this point but You know learning how to learn. He got his Ideas from like bill. Belichick for example. And you know defining the culture. And then you're brought in from michael jordan. Kobe bryant before years back and just waiting does kind of get these guys You know thing with him is the hart building. Codes are hard hard thing in the mountain once the mountain as a champion and that was interesting. Thing for me. it's interesting to me. I know i know bruce arians. From many years ago. I've covered twice as an assistant. I have not covered him when he's been with the bucks or out in arizona. But how would you compare. Sabin to bruce arians in terms of what you heard and what you learned a lot. More colorful quotes. You've probably noticed dealing with with with saving over the years. You don't bruce's very No risk it no biscuit now very pop the players and He's the guy that All of them have common theme so in terms of developing relationship but players. All being trust creating accountability. But you know syrians. You know took over a bucks team that had won a playoff to since they're super bowl victory So there was you know people thought of losing culture there and you know tom brady. Come in Help define it in guys leave with an interesting part of that story. But you know he's learned from jimmy sharp attack it's them to coach them hard and hoping later And you know. I'm really hard on these guys on their athlon time. But then i'll go. unlock ruben. okay so I can definitely see. I'm sure next they've been in that to the way Interacting with players. And then you know turmeric as people but also demanding them. Many labrum from them in that process joe smith with us from the athletic okay. Let's go to the other other. Gentlemen that you talked to madden of course you know brilliant career care care as well Different sports though Baseball and basketball. How how how would you compare what you learned from them. In relation to air engine sabin said while big thing with with them was teddy and being yourself and being the same guy every day You know man. I covered him in tampa cox. And you know he's a guy who wasn't a dress code. He was big on having more growth. Team bro. trips whether it's miami vice or everybody if you want and being comfortable in your own skin carry authentic guy. That's all of these guys. Talk can't create a kosher unless you believe it embodies who you are those You know and was the same way like you. Learn from philip jackson who was big into native american culture and get a video room in their facility had Native american ira fra facts. Quotes everything in the room and he paying trump before You wanna practice to get guys. Come up there. Basically had them a try that one through twelve fifteen they all matter and we're all connected And the dip related doing it on to so we've talked about kind of authentic being yourself in trading those values that could by yourself and what you believe in In those guys at the freedom to beat themselves joined the peace. You talk obviously a lot about culture. And what would what would. What would the common thread be of those who you spoke with in in relation to building a culture which you just can't do overnight. No you can't.

"Hour and one thing that's always really cool to hear greatness talk and our next guest has somehow been able to get together some of the biggest and most successful people in all of sports. And we'll talk about including bruce arians. A nick sabin is joe smith from the athletic and joe. What a pleasure. It is to welcome you to the program good afternoon and i really can't wait to to hear about this project so much. Thanks for having me Obviously it was it was. I wanted to put together. Took a little while but kind of fascinating to hear people like you mentioned at the height other game. You know talk about something that i think is a popular topic The people are really not much about joe even before you get to what they said. I am really interested. I realize you work for a major national publication. But how did you go about getting a hold of all these men and getting them to agree to talk. I'm grateful that i love them. Take the time if it ain't twenty minutes to do it and the idea kind was born from i coach. I cover hockey here. Lightning won the stanley cup. Last fall and the coach jon cooper always hot about cultural strategies that one of his tennis and i just figured trying to find people to explore the question of what is culture. How do you build it and maintain it and the big guys on my list. I was nick sabin and You know steve kerr and i covered john madden with the raise back in the day so i knew him a little bit but i reached out to their their teams. The pr mentioned the project. And what. I wanted to do and Once i got one person. The second person was coaches you. But their coach I'm just grateful that they were able to. You know. I wanted to get them all together at one time but doing interviews one by one you you together like themes about the project star was saving he He's he's mentioned a few times a day here on this program a he's it i've always felt was would nick sabin once you get these great. It's a matter of just getting him and getting him to to buy. And so take us through that part of the equation. I'd already talked to a couple.

Becoming the Expert - Allan Langer

"Today's tip comes from Allan Langer. Allen's the author of the seven secrets to selling more by selling less that he wrote as an antidote to the numerous pitch trainings and teachings that have existed for decades, but simply didn't produce the results he knew could be achieved here. He is hey everyone allan. Langer here from the seven Secrets Center for sales and marketing and. And here is my sales tip for you. I call it becoming the expert and what I mean by this is perception. Is Reality Okay? You have to be perceived as the expert in your field, whether you are not so with today's attention span I just looked at some statistics and the average attention span today for the average human being is seven seconds especially online, so if there's someone out there who has a problem and they? They are looking for someone to solve that problem with product or a service. They are going to look to see if you are an expert and you have seven seconds from your standpoint to show them that you are where they need to have the perception that you are the expert. Let me give you an example of what I mean. Let's say I. I mean the market for Lampshades, and I, met a networking function and there's. There's well. There's two lampshade guys in the room so I meet both of them I take both of their business cards, and then I'm gone from the networking function and a few days later I think Oh, boy, I need to order lampshades. I pick up both business cards and I look at one, and says Joe Smith Lampshade consultant, and then I look at the other business card, and it says Steve Smith Senior lampshade consultant. Well now I. Don't really remember either person, but I'm going to call the senior lampshade consultant. Why because right there I am perceiving Steve as more of an expert than Joe simply because of his title. Okay, so you need to take a step back and look through the eyes of your customer to how you're perceived. Website on your company's website. What your title is! How are you perceive in your Lincoln Profile? Are you perceived as an expert in your field as an expert in your product or your service, or are you perceived as just another sales rep the perception right now. You have that seven seconds to have. Someone believed that you are the expert. Because once you do that, you'll have a much easier time getting in front of that customer. You'll have a much easier time selling that customer, because really you need to believe you're the expert as well, but the perception has to be there, and that has to be from the customer's standpoint. Okay, so that's my tip. Become the expert, the customer has to perceive you as the expert. And if they do, you'll have a much better time closing the

Patriots Release WR Jordan Matthews After Significant Hamstring Injury, sign 1-year deal with Erick Decker

"What does he go play outside in a different sport now? Oh, yeah. Yeah. I mean six. Nine, whatever you gonna play when he gets blasted over the middle, is he gonna come back to the bra, took you seem stitching. His nose play with a mass drop sixty one on on on on the Hornets as broken. No, but he. Loved asked, and he'd be going around with a different mentality. That's a whole different ball football and basketball player. The why differently? Enough, realize it always comes back to this guy at some point. Thank you for being here. It's always good to get. Tom Brady is wide receiver group seems to constantly change and the patriots Jordan Mathews yesterday after he signed a one year deal this off season, but he reportedly suffered a significant hamstring injury on Sunday, the patriots maybe adding former titans wide receiver, Eric decker who worked out for the team this week. And yes, remember they will be without Jillian men for the first four games of the season. Shannon, what does this tell you. Kills me that a coach Bela checks. You gonna pull some weight or you guys to go. He was, I guess he was practicing whale playing well, and then he got Nick hamstring and coach Bela check says, you know what? You're not going to be doing this any good rehabbing on our dime. So we'll let you go ahead and go bring air Dicker and it looks like they're gonna sign deck, Jordan Mathews skip. I mean he really hasn't played well since he's left chip Kelly. I mean close to nine hundred yards. I two years, but he's always had this injury almost half thousand. Yeah, he's always had this injury bug that just popped up and I'm sure that factor the coach Bela checks decision of, yeah, you know, I was kinda hoping you're over this bug. Now, the last couple years deck has also suffered the injury bug, but I do believe that Eric decker is an upgrade over Jordan Mathews. He had his best years playing who skip pate, Manny. So you have a guy in Tom Brady that knows what he's doing with the football knows where to go with the ball is in complete command of this offense. And so I expect him to is big debt comes in this offense. I can see him catching. Forty fifty balls especially with Ellerman being the first the first four gay. Hell gronk it's still there not. He's still look at Tom Brady, Tom Brady can win without grunk, but you look at his numbers when gronk on the field. And you look at his numbers when gronk and on the field, this ubstantially different and plus decades. The mole grant Etima you know, they got Gatica got all all the Gallic, a guy. He likes to kind of look, Chris HOGAN. Now. L. look like. Thing shattered shock. I've been trying to tell you for two years Bill. Bella check can get away with near murder when it comes to the white outs this because it just doesn't matter. He has the greatest quarterback in the history of pro football who's also to use your term the greatest makeup artist ever because he can just cover up all the blemishes. It just doesn't matter. Just giving that guy, Joe Smith investors. Investors as the greatest ever. You know what Joe said that under. So. Look what just happened. Jordan Mathews was sort of the off season Saini by the New England Patriots because June Matty's dot, some ability. He played at my school Vanderbilt, and he is still the SEC all time career leader in catches and yards caught. That's pretty great, Nancy. See, it's a pretty good. It's right. And he's still the all time. Career leader is Jordan. Mathews those three years in Philadelphia were they were great, but they were pretty good, right. And guess who fell in love with Jordan Mathews who loved him like a brother was walk into your got Carson Wentz. He loved him some Jordan Mathews and they traded Jordan Mathews straight up for Ronald Darby who's a really good player so that that shows you that buffalo really valued Jordan Mathews that he He was. was. That's that's pretty. That's eighty. Trae they needed receiver they had let wilder would grow in said, we walk and go market Goodwin was gong. Yeah, so they need. They need Darby's a first round talent. Yeah, he's a, he's a playmaking top to your cornerback and so they value Jordan. He's in buffalo, right? And Carson Wentz was devastated and told the Philadelphia media..
