"That is third lowest among starters and behind Freddie Peralta, Joe Ryan, a couple other pictures who maybe have more effective fastballs than their velocities would suggest, but also he noted his high front side at some funk and deception to the delivery his spin rate and spin efficiency are well above average. And so he has a scout here who calls this fastball a unicorn because there's just a lot going on there and I'm always partial to deceptive pictures and I've written about that and that can mean so many things just that term deception can mean so many things to so many different people in baseball. And so it sounds like there's just it is the vertical approach angle that is one thing that's happening with Javier, but it's not the only thing he's also got good spin and he's got good deception and so you can maybe teach some aspects of that, but I guess probably to get the complete package in there would be difficult, but maybe you can at least recognize it now where it already exists, which is something that in the past, you might have discounted someone who didn't seem to have remarkable stuff just based on the radar gun reading. That wasn't really a question. But at least it leaves room for diversity in the ecosystem, right? It's like you don't have to, it's not that every fastball can play, but there are maybe there are more fastballs that can play if they are properly utilized and paired with other pieces of a pitcher's repertoire than just the guys who can throw. A hundred 'cause sometimes you throw a hundred and it doesn't, it's not good. Sometimes it's sometimes those fastballs are bad. Very weirdly hittable, you know? It's like classic dos Sanchez. Yeah. Shape matters. Well, I'm glad that we have analysts like you who are delving into some of these concepts and can explain it to the olds, like me, the whole thing. I used to be cutting edge at the gamers pass me by. No. But at least you want to talk to young people instead of being bitter about that. That's what distinguishes you from a lot of the other old spend. Yes, that is true. I don't want to grumpy about being an old. All this stuff and say, these concepts didn't exist when I was learning about baseball and therefore I want to know nothing about them and they are invalid no. It's easier. I mean, in some ways. I don't envy you having to write about fit and 2011 in the dark ages. Yeah, honestly. I have so much on the subways, because that was all you could do, right? So it's like, well, why is this good? I don't know. We have more stats than they used to have to explain that, but a lot fewer than we have now pre pitch FX or pre track band or pre stack cast. So I guess it is easier now in the sense that you can actually answer the question a lot better than you could before, but also it is harder because you have to do a lot of research and analysis to answer the question as opposed to just throwing up your hands and saying, well, I don't know, here's what we do know. So yeah, I guess it's harder in some ways and easier in others. Now, you can be proven wrong a lot easier nowadays. That's true. You know, Brent strahm is 74 and if you think about pitching coaches who are able to sort of marry their experience with this stuff with, you know, what is really just a shift in vocabulary and a lot of ways. You know, he's at the forefront of this. I also look, if you Google Brent strom, people also ask, why did Brent strom leave? Where is Brent strum, which they mean as a team thing, but just makes you wonder like, where is that guy? Is he okay? That's kind of a low profile team. There's something about the Diamondbacks that's just sort of semi anonymous. And maybe he's just disappeared into the Diamondbacks vortex and everyone's wondering where he went. But yeah, no, it's true. Even something like seam shifted wake or whatever. Pitchers and pitching coaches and people in the game often they know intuitively that these things exist. And they can identify that there's something funky going on there that we can't currently account for and sometimes we get better more granular information and it turns out that we're some old coaches tale here and something wasn't actually true or old scouts tale, but very often no, they were onto something and we just didn't have the tools to detect it yet. So there are some things like a high spin fastball or something that sinks less than you thought and maybe that wasn't always identified. Maybe you couldn't see that that clearly or you could kind of see it indirectly just by looking at like hitters reactions to a pitch perhaps and now every scout just knows that. And so there's sort of a reliance on technology that maybe explain things that prior to this either couldn't be quantified or scouts just sort of had a sense of it, but now we can actually put a number on it at times. It's just all this stuff, the stats versus scouts, it's all just converging constantly to the point where it's just completely indistinguishable now. So it's not even like stats and scouts. It's like, no, they're just the same thing at this point. Basically, it's all data, so. All right, well thank you for trying to explain the phenomenon of Christian Javier twos in vertical approach angle in general. And you can read Michael regularly at baseball perspective and elsewhere and you can find him on Twitter at Mikey. You can

"A lot of baseball on the card today. A lot of baseball. No Stanley Cup final action till tomorrow. No NBA Finals till Thursday. How do you feel? How do you feel about the big baseball card? You know, baseball, is it my favorite sport? No. To be quite Frank, but like you said, it's a dog day this summer, but it's one of those things where you wake up and you're really scrubbing looking for something to bet for sure because usually I feel like you're so amped up during the NFL season or you know come the NBA Finals NHL finals. So if this was the World Series, I think we'd be a little more amped up but you know get through it. Baseball gets a bad rap every time of year, people like me make these comments about how we don't have any good anything good that we have to turn the baseball. Baseball is here for us though. Baseball is here for us like what was that pizza place in beaver canyon that terrible pizza place at Penn State that would be open? I think it was canyon pizza, right? I think it's that, but I'm so bad. It's literally only there for maybe a year and a half of Penn State main, so but yes, I know what you're talking about. Everyone talked about how it was like sandpaper. Worst pizza ever, but it was the only place you could get food at two 30 after everything it closed. And it did the job. That is baseball. Let's get to the car today. We're going to start with you. The Yankees and the rays might be the featured game tonight. It's Garrett Cole versus Corey Kluber, yanks minus two 20 in this one. How are you going to play it? I'm actually looking at the run line for this. I mean, they're absolutely just so hot. 9 and one their last ten games, the money line is just two juice and obviously the raids are also dealing with injuries, most notably Brandon Lowe, Wanda Franco, and as for that pitching matchup, Kluber is just shaking on the road over the last 23 road innings. He has a 5.09 ERA, and that's just not going to cut it against the New York Yankees right now. Also, we know Cole's looking for a bounce back game on the mound. He has a 2.87 ERA at home, which does help him, and the rates aren't great against right hand pictures. So I think again, money lines to juice, I would take them on the run line minus one ten. All right, first one for me, let's head out west, Minnesota is at Seattle. Two bets in this one. I'll go in order of what I like the most. Twins first 5 innings, even money plus 100. Second bet twins for the game plus one O 5. Awesome pitching matchup here tonight. Incredibly underrated, it's gonna be Joe Ryan going from Minnesota against Logan Gilbert from Seattle. Both guys have been fantastic. Ryan's got a two two 8 ERA this season, but on the road, 1.61, the dude is fearless. Now Gilbert's been solid, but the difference in this game is that while you have two good pitchers, Ryan is facing a Seattle team that's league average essentially against right handed pitching. Minnesota, however, crushes right handed pitching. Fourth and OPS, third and weighted runs created fourth and waited on base average. Seattle one in four in their last 5 home games. I like the twins in the first 5 innings at even money. I like the twins for the game at plus one O 5 hour. Philadelphia police. Red hot will probably never lose again two, three World Series in a row. I'm predicting it now. They're laying one 45 against the Marlins tonight. What do you like here? Spoken like a true Philadelphia native. You know, I've watched hustle the last two days, so at this point, we might as well just watch it. We're going Philly's run line plus one 40, like you'd mentioned. I mean, they've won ten of the last 11 they're heating up. They're three one over the Marlins this season. And yes, the Marlins were also heating up. They were on a 5 of 6 game win streak before losing three two last night. But Trevor Rogers on the mound for them, 5.58 ERA three and 5 record, he continues to get worse throughout the season, two bed starts came against awful defenses. He allowed the nationals and rockies to score combined 7 runs in almost 9 innings. He saw 15 hits and 58 at bats, Evelyn's been much better for the Phillies, give me the affiliate on the run line plus one 40 tonight. I like that. I'm also going to play them in the first 5 innings as well on the run line, which is minus one 15. To your point on F Lynn, look at his home road splits on the road, his ERA is north of 7 at home, 1.16 opponents have an OPS of just four 61. Marlin's turning to Trevor Rogers tonight. They're one in three in his last four starts. He's been shaky in that stretch during that four game run and ERA of 7.64. Julie's got to stay on it, all right? They're winning games. They're looking good. Can't get sloppy. You can't get complacent. Classic Philly let down when you have these like little brief moments of greatness. Everyone gets excited and then everyone starts, you know, going around booking parades. And then they come out flat. So tonight, I'm not overly thrilled about the first 5. I was close to making it. My best bet..

"Encouraging, I mean, that doesn't always mean that all of those teams are full of great prospects who will go on to make the major league teams good. But it can't hurt and certainly in the race case. There's just a ton of young talent. I don't know. Anything else that you're all interested in about the race this year, I guess we don't have to worry about the two team Montreal plan anymore. We don't have to talk about that in the short term. Did we ever need to talk about it? Was it ever real? No, probably not. I am curious to see what their stadium situation ends up resolving as because I think we've heard the last of that to city idea for now, but I don't think that they're content with the trap. So I am curious kind of what goes on there. Yep. What do you make of the fact that they were reportedly in on Freddy Friedman for an actual 9 figure contract? I don't know if it's just wishful thinking or not, but the fact that the rays are so good, like in June, in July, could they go out and actually add some money to this peril, probably not given their history, but the freed men news kind of threw me for a loop just because I wouldn't have expected them to be in on someone for a multiyear deal for that much money at all, but Freeman is so talented and he would fit or he would have. I should say fit so well in the middle of this lineup because for all its depth besides wander and branded Lao right, it's loud not low. They don't necessarily have that big guy in the middle of the order who's going to hit 30 plus home runs. And I just wondered, disrespect Mike zen, you know, like that on this podcast. Is he in the middle of the order? I thought he was the bottom of the order. He sure shouldn't be in the middle of the order, but he will hit 30 home runs. And for as much as I love, like G man Choi, he's not that kind of player. So is there the potential that they could add some what they traded Joe Ryan a very good prospect for Nelson Cruz. At last year's deadline, so if they're a little bit more aggressive, what does that look like? And I would encourage it because this race is so close, but so is this team? Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if wander hit 30 at some point, not necessarily this season, but some season, even though that's not his strength, like I could see it happening. But yeah, they could use a little more pop. Yeah. Wait, oh, this took me into a very different payroll page than the one I was looking for. I was like, they sure do not have a $200 million payroll. That is very wrong. Yeah, I mean, they're payroll commitments. Inflation's gone crazy, make it. Oh my gosh. I only have like an $86 million estimated payroll right now, so I guess if you want to be optimistic, you could say they could add a meaningful contract and still not spend all that much. Is that a good thing? Who could sign? All right, let's go to the Red Sox now. Best off season move for the Boston Red Sox Bobby. I went with the obvious one, I was Trevor's story for 6 years, one 40. It's always nice when you can just go out and sign really good players for market value contracts. Although I will say just right off the bat, I kind of hated the Red Sox off season otherwise. Really answer a lot of the questions that rolled over from last year. I mean, I think over performed people's expectations last year. And then I think they were content to just kind of settle back and re insert themselves into the timeline that they were on when they were like, let's trade Mookie bets. But the Trevor story signing and I'm curious here what you all think about this is it's kind of weird for me because now they've run into a sort of similar problem of not being able to give the big contracts to all the people they weren't going to be able to give the big contracts to because they had the Mookie betts contract. So don't we have that same problem now with the Red Sox? Well, maybe. Yeah, potentially, I guess. But at least they're good now. It seems like still, they made it back to being good again, I think, faster than most people expected faster than I expected after trading Mookie. So I'll give them that. I think it is important to remember for that question. They do have a lot of money coming off after this year. So they might not be as worried about it. Martinez is a free agent after this year. Ivaldi is Vasquez, Hernandez, all $7 million of Michael waka, rich hill, you know, and his $5 million. So they're going from having like an estimated payroll this year of 218 to like a luxury tax estimate of a $100 million next year. They're pulling some money off the books and they'll have to fill holes obviously and there will be guys who get our braces, but this is not quite the same payroll situation. They were looking at with bets. So that's part of it. The story signing could also, if they anticipate Xander Bogart's leaving, when he can opt out, he could backfill in a way that like when the Dodgers traded for Trey charter, one of the advantages was if Seeger left, then they could just slide turn her back over to shortstop and story could very well do that. Next year, if Bogart's leaves, I don't know if that's a good tradeoff because bogarts might be better than story, but it seems kind of like an even balance there, not the downgrade that you would have had otherwise. Strengths of the Red Sox, Zack. I wrote down the top 6 in the lineup. 7 8 9 have a lot more question marks, but this is a really good top 6 from Devers and bogarts to story who we talked about Martinez had a bounce back here last year. Hernandez had a breakout for do go is good. So that's a really good top 6. It has left right balance, which I think is overrated, like give me the Blue Jays lineup with all its right handed headers. I don't care, but it does have balance if you care about that. It has power. It has plate discipline. It has contact. So really tough lineup to work through four or 5 times a game. Weaknesses, Bobby. I wrote pitching generally. I actually like their rotation more than I thought I was gonna like the rotation when I sat down to do the homework for this podcast. There are obviously health questions with all of them and there are kind of chillers in it. What's not to like? That's true. There are kind of like length of resume questions with a guy like Tanner how I love. But their bullpen is, it could be pretty, pretty bad. Or it could be good. I don't really know. I'm really terrible with predicting bullpens. I think Matt Barnes is pretty good. It's okay, whitlock was pretty good last year. But then after that, it's pretty bad. It's pretty bad. There are a lot of question marks..

It's just kind of nice like having some control that you don't really have in fantasy doesn't always work out. I gave a walk off grand slam and it definitely doesn't always work out. I can tell you from this year. If i don't have i don't have check. Flare gave up like forty home. Runs for you. Clarity's like eight for fifteen. Yeah he's given a forty homers and then the worst is he's been great lately and the guy who's been terrible. Is josh hater. Who was lights out the first four months josh hater. Look he's got like a foyer now and a little. I've averaged one hundred and five wins in that league for ten years and i've never made it to our world series because i never have enough starting pitching again. Somebody's gonna beat me this year next month anyway carlos along i was born thirty seconds but we have been managing us. We could do it. Every got all the time in the world the recruitment roles. That was a good answer. And i think it's legitimate question. We discuss along kyle. You'll like it. See we'll see. I'm i don't mind i've never played i. I like fantasy how i have it. That doesn't mean. I won't like it a different way. So i'm open to the idea. I daniel here has a question about cal calmac. Oh my goodness. He wants an overflow where we've seen down the stretch here is encouraging moving forward in. Where are you going to rank him for. Next season in redraft formats. I love it. That every time jared county gets a home run. We get a text with mark davis field. Saying he's gonna. He's he's gonna keep improving. He's gonna keep getting better. Although i think he's down on them right now was said hall of famer. Let's be fair last three weeks for jar account to fifty batting average eighty four. Ps six home runs still striking out way too much but yeah sitting for some power and there were three home runs at kansas city over the weekend. Not easy to homer there What are we noticing about county. Because he's twenty one years old and we thought he was going to be a star and it doesn't mean he can't be a star. He's not hitting left. Handed pitching crushing right handers. Either but he is getting better is there is. It's going to be silly. If i say is next trout but remember trout's first year in the majors. He he was not good. He won rookie there in second year. Account can't win rookie year. And if i told you twenty five home runs and he bats to sixty six years crazy not crazy at all and granted. We're clinging tightly to the september hot stretch that he's come up with The september slash numbers are two eighty three three forty eight and six fifty and they are fueled by a huge increase in hard contact and fly ball of his hitting the ball in the air. Fifty two percent of the time using the fan grabs number forty three percent hard. Hit grade very encouraging stuff. And i know granted. He's beating up on some weaker pitchers. We saw some doing well against the royals pitching staff here but i still think the skills are there all right so let me ask you a couple of hours for do go next year accounting i am. I'm going to go on nick but that is a good one. Yeah we know what.

"Paid out for the overall top twenty two gets a spot there. I've actually fallen off in that. Beat comb whether we actually unfortunately remember. I was leading for the bulk of the year to be honest. And i've just been overtaken now. I've been shoved down to third now. Emily one point behind. So hopefully i can keep that cash spot there. I'm second. mit fbi. And i'm third in the finals of the razz slam with a great shot to still win that league though that that is a very tight race When the overall win the entire thing. And i'm i'm there with I have twenty two fifteen points. Two hundred fifteen points. The leader has twenty to thirty like. We're talking really tight. Twenty to twenty eight is in between nicholas maryono. And then joseph ashes leading some very much in that The more leaks. I let them live up to their name. I've been thoroughly beaten in those. But overall i'm very happy with how my seasons going obviously with a great shot at a main event championship. It's hard to have a bad year. If if that comes through you know yeah absolutely. I'm i'm stoked for you. I thank you lou. Prussia down the stretch in cash in that overall in the main event antique down there aslam. That'd be so sick that'd be a hell of a year and two more weeks of of going going him. I haven't even you know. I was talking about this extreme. It wouldn't change anything. I really don't think i would ease up in any way. But i haven't even done the math in my main event to see if like the seven point gap can can realistically be closed. Because i don't wanna take my foot off the gas at all and again. I don't think i would but i just don't want to be like. Oh well he can't really get the seven points. Let me just dial it down. No i'm staying full-bore. I did a really really good episode of benefits gas dave macdonald recently or we talked about kind of september strategies and one of the things we kind of came to an agreement on is no ten point lead is safe right now correct though like you know if you think you're coasting ago i've i've got a huge lead right now. Don't don't coast right now. Like just don't do it. Don't don't take your foot off and all on anything. Just hey on. I'm eight points out right now. there's no way can catch up. That's not necessarily true. Yup you know do the footwork and has sit down spreadsheet it out and figure out. Hey where can i king the on the spots but like very very few leads are completely safe right now. So and don't be afraid to make cuts that you wouldn't have two months ago because there'd be crazy but like where we normally see as being cut like legit prime closers because the team can't use them and they need that spot. I streamer because they're chasing ks. So they cut like jordan romano or something. Don't be afraid to be that person. It might change the dynamic see if somebody else picks up but you're focused on what you can do and so we're seeing a lot of Same goes with injury that you're waiting on. Probably stop waiting on most of them in. Cut those guys and pick up players. That can help you so you got to be a lot tighter on the reins of of who deserves a roster spot at this point because what you hold onto with guys that are hurt unless they're gonna do back like in the next few days like mcclanahan and joe ryan They're gone as far as i'm concerned. Any anyone who has the aisles is kinda boring. yup i. I totally agree for example. Hey suzanne yar brilliant brilliant season i kind of. He's gone and and the other leagues that i haven't this weekend. He'll be gone for sure. Because i think now even said that he's unlikely to return. But you gotta make quick moves there With guys are the. I'll do not give up the fight unless you're in one of my colleagues then you can just give it up because if you're planning sme- feel free to give up. That helps other competition. Yeah oh yeah. See if you can help me. Please don't give up if you can help me. But if you might take points away from me then just out and don't be a jerk about it. Exactly right justin. Well enjoy your weekend. You don't have to deal with the stress of your favorite football team because they put you through the ringer yesterday. Men without i've never watched a game. Were both teams lost. Yeah neither team had any interest in winning that game. you like. Washington didn't win that game. The giants didn't win that game like it shouldn't even be a tie. It should be lost for both adults. Ever double l. Because oh my god did neither team to win. That came out that was that was wild. Just for further proof. That might team sucks. Listen i'm alliance fan. So i can commiserate on that anyway. Justin i hope you have a great weekend and i will talk to you on monday..

"I can't remember exactly when and so we don't know like i said it's been listed that he'll be back here. It's a right wrist contusion and he has a right hander so that would be his throwing arm. he's been excellent so far with the twins though. So i wanna bring up just in case the in starting stay tuned to the news. But you're not going to start him anyways at toronto. Oh yeah that's right but would you pick them up. Yeah i picked him up for beyond. And actually i have a number of leaks. I don't wanna start this against your executive corona so. Yeah don't worry about this weekend so you can pick them up right away if he's available and just hold them beyond the weekend because we wouldn't be doing this even with a super healthy joe ryan. I don't think i'd be taking the shot against toronto. Just because that's where they are right now. We talked about how scared we are of them. Polo speedo gets the second part of his two stuff this week. I think the first one was against pittsburgh so he was a popular who start. Pick up last sunday with the pittsburgh colorado combo. Do you like Do you like what is being miami. Excuse me six innings. One run six strikeouts. He finished the first leg nicely. Do you like espino to complete the to stab with a gem against colorado. I do i mean. I've been impressed by speedo. Like he's not like an overpowering guy restricts imagination but a does a really good job of keeping men off days of via the the frepaso and he was one of my top recommendations. Were jason i talk to starts On sunday so i'm sticking with them and hope in that he does not hurt me down or you know in this half of the two yup definitely going for this one. This is one of the better ones on sunday If you don't have a lower available or gilbert available. I think this is going to be one of your best bets on the wire another one. That's a start within your own team very much miley situation here with your boy. Kyle gibson at the mets. I mentioned. i think we've talked about him last week. And it's lined up that. He's pitched on the weekend each of the last two weeks and he's been kinda back to normal with with philly His kind of you know mid to high fours. e r. A self outs have been sporadic. They did get seven last time out but there was four runs in five innings against the cubs. At least you got the seven strikeouts. All all of the runs for the runs came in the fifth inning so he was pitching really well until then but he gets the mets and the mets are not an easy easy offense in fact they are dominating against righties blade. They are third wilda against writings over the last thirty days. Do you wanna risk it with kyle gibson. I mean i know you want to are you going. Yeah yeah. I think i will sort and don't forget this scenario. Where already on your team. And i'm just deciding to start because he's eighty two percent at espn meaning his his almost not available at all exactly that eighty four eighty four percent. Excuse me that accounts for every league. That's probably paying enough attention those extra leagues where he is available. Those are probably more or less deadly. I think i'm role in with him. If if i'm looking for when i know the mets of You know been decent by philadelphia's a good team to and Y'all think i'm rolling with them is scary though. And maybe it's just my gut my kyle gibson goggles. It's hard to say gives. It is gibson. God's listen. I never had gibson goggles. And yet i tend to agree that i think i would go for this as well. Man it is scary. I'm i'm hemming and han. Even as i said yes. He's definitely not at the top of the list. Guys even just on saturday or i go. I think it rather sturt eric. Lower i think rather start logan gilbert. I'd think i'd rather start. I think i think wade miley at probably rather start to so you know. I mean that tells you the kind of the level of you know. Concern the guy. Like kyle gibson but I think there's a good chance you can get a win. And i think there's some strikeouts potential decent ratios coming as well so yeah and again if you're streaming you're already accepting a particular level here. He's already on your roster. I go with gibson and hopefully solid start. Who goal wily. Willie peralta man. He stood tall in that peralta versus peralta match up there when he was facing freddie friend who was boosting but Oh widely it was right there with him. Put up six scoreless In the in the game. That i think went into extras as a one nothing. Mo wanna say. The tigers won that they won that in eleven those two were battling though the cousins actually not related at all. They were they were doing. It was a hell of a game and i. Obviously you know watching that. Because i'm a tigers fan. Did not expect both peralta dominating but they were. He's been great this year. I don't think there's any other way you can really say it. And i know you look at the four ninety eight fifth. And you're like how and i don't have any answer even though i've watched a lot of his sixteen outings this year. I cannot tell you how he has a three thirty two. Era in a one twenty six whip but he does and he gets the race phony team but not terrifying offensively. i think they do their best work against lefties. They're kind of middle of the pack against righties. Do you trust peralta to keep his his low bab ways going. Because that's really what it's been is low abbott and stranding the runners who do get on. Are you taking this risk here. With his hot fifteen percent strikeout rate on all wily peralta at tampa bay. That's the word bart understood strikeouts per nine. Yeah you're not streaming for strikeouts here. You're you're i mean you're crazily. You're trying to spike a win. Yeah yeah us trying to spike a win in get some good ratios in the process. But i mean he's doing it by getting know almost fifty two percent ground ball percentage yup and tigers have decent defense to turn those into outs which they haven't had in recent years. That's another new thing in detroit. And he's not walk in the yard either so I think actually. I'm playing hand. I'm going with it too. If it's not strikeouts i'm looking for. I think that yeah. I think i think i would roll it this one. I think i'd roll with him over gibson. Which is crazy. Yeah we never even as gifts in detract are never thought. I'd say that at any point this year and yet here i am. I will say tigers third best record in baseball against playoff contending teams. I don't know exactly what the cutoff was for that graphic that they showed on the other night as far as what a playoff contender. But you can assume that the cutoff is a pretty quality team there. And they were just showing how the tigers have been it. Was milwaukee another contender. And then the tigers. Those were the three best records against contending team. So hey you might actually get your dub here with willie and i would definitely starting to tell you what i'd start him over joe ryan easily. You know even though. Joe ryan's better pitcher because that's how scary. Toronto is what a month adrian samson. I don't know if you remember when he was with the texas a couple years ago. A home run machine. He is continued to be a home run machine but they've been a lot of solo shots so he does have to fifty three era in his twenty one innings of work including back-to-back decent starts of five innings to earned against cincinnati and at philly. Would you take a shot on agent sampson at milwaukee here for the cubs not in milwaukee. Just now in. I've been surprised that they've been able to stretch him out..

"The problems with offenses were saying today is that there's nobody on the bench. You know you've got this. You've got fourteen pitchers and a twenty six man. Roster you're you're kinda limited here to tune in pinch it though you know if you look at the more successful teams. I don't know that that is being viewed as an impediment right now. Yeah i guess this week sign of the starting pitcher pacalypse is that the twins are currently employing a seven man rotation because michael pineda came off the injured list. They have joe ryan who came up. He's been pitching well. And then they have a bunch of other guys. So it's just seven men rotation and you know. The twins are out of contention. Obviously and they're just trying to like not overwork anyone and see some more of the young guys that they've brought up so it makes sense. I suppose but that kind of thing gets normalized. And next thing you know we'll be seeing teams in different situations who are going with seven rotations. We've certainly seen six men rotations all over the place and then you have the race. Who were always pushing the envelope in this sort of thing and of course as they continue to have success often they have spawned imitators with the opener. And as you noted maybe the opener has gotten a little less common after the initial wave. But if we have fewer openers we just sort of heaven opener is as a starters. I guess where those things are kind of blending together. And i'm sure other teams are looking at the raise model and easier said than done. Obviously but if they could do that then maybe they would you know if the race make a deep run into october again if they would win a world series with this sort of amorphous mass of pitcher. His sewer not really an assigned roles. I mean is that the future do you think that there will always be some mismatching innings. Totals i assume because you're always going to have good pitchers and bad pitchers and it would be silly not to use your good pitchers more than the pictures on the back end of your roster but i just wonder what that differential will be ultimately and potentially how many innings your leaving on the table with your good starters who perhaps could be conditioned to throw more of those innings. Yeah either that. Or i could see a situation where there might like if the rules were changed more about how long you have to keep guys up or keep them down on the farm when there is Moves between the majors and the minors That could push teams. Maybe to at least get to winning relievers instead of one inning reliever kind of you know the ideal that we all have of what. Andrew miller was During his really good year pitching only seventy four innings back in two thousand sixteen. But still you know some way that there is a mac and reliever. Who accumulates more value than guys who just come onto pitch to three or four batters and throw twenty pitches one inning at a time. But for starters that. There's no evidence that i can see that the.

"And david robertson completed the five hit one run affair against the dominican republic so japan and korea were then facing off where japan won by a score of five to two so japan has yet to lose a game here at the olympics in this basically sent korea to face off against the usa so the usa defeated the dominican republic. They were gonna face the loser of the korea. Japan game ultimately being korea and then. The usa won by a score over korea seven to two so. The usa advances to the gold medal game by defeating korea. Seven to two with a five run bottom half of the sixth inning. Being the difference the score was two to one heading to the bottom of the sixth and the usa had themselves a big inning once again on the mound joe ryan for the usa four and a third allowing only one run Rider ryan one and two third scoreless. Scott mcgauchie one third of three hits one run anthony ghosts and anthony carter combined to finish off that score by a final of seven to two so once again. We have the bronze-medal game tomorrow. Friday friday evening between the dominican republic in korea and then the gold medal match up between the usa in japan. Taking place saturday morning so. The usa made it difficult on themselves by blowing. That lead. japan but bounceback victories over the dominican republic as well as south korea puts them right in the gold medal match up in a rematch against japan. Where the winner will take goal. So who's been performing for team usa when it comes to the offensive side of things. Tyler austin is the big winner for the usa. He's sitting four twenty nine. He is nine for twenty one with two home runs. Three doubles seven. Rbi's so he's doing a bit of everything for team usa and you also have a tristen casas. He's only hitting to sixty three but he has three home runs in a double as he has five for nineteen and he's the team leader with eight. Rb is so out of the twenty eight. Rbi's eight of them for casas. Seven for tyler. Austin are the two big names offensively. How are some of the other guys doing some names. you may recognize. Well todd frazier. He's struggling a bit. He is only three for seventeen in the tournament. he does have two doubles. He sit in one seventy six. You have bubba starling hidden to eighty six eddie alvarez to fifty eric phileas two fifty mark close vary hitting to thirty five jamie westbrook to twenty two jack lopez one eighty two in nick allen hitting one seventy six offensively so us as a team hitting two forty seven with a four thirty four. Slugging percentage and tyler austin and tristen casas doing a lot of the heavy lifting for the team. Usa when it comes to on the mount how we doing out the pitching staff going on here. Well you got some good and some not so good but overall the pitching has been fantastic for team usa anthony. Ghosts has yet to lower yet to allow a run in four appearances over five and a third innings edwin. Jackson has made two appearances. He's allowed one unearned run. It was the extra inning run against japan for zero point. Zero zero. era are though he was saddled with the only loss for team usa. You have scott kasmir again. Who made the one start five scoreless innings in fantastic outing for scott kasmir ryan writer. Who has one no. With three appearances in four innings. He's been excellent out of the bullpen. You have joe ryan. Who started two games for team usa. He's gone ten and a third innings allowing two runs on nine hits so he is one no with a one seven four. Era the other starter. Nick martinez he went five innings allowing one run for a one eight zero era. So the starting pitching for the. Us has fantastic. You had casimir. Go five scoreless. Nick martinez five only allowing one run. And then joe ryan started the other two games allowing two runs over the course of ten minutes now on the top end of the bullpen. Some of the bullpen is struggle david robertson. He's allowed two runs in three innings for a six era. You have shane by as allowing two runs into an two thirds for a six seven. Five and anthony carter to runs in and a third innings for seven seven one. Era but the team era for team usa over the course of forty five and one third innings is two point one eight so the pitching has really been the carrier for the usa. Say they've been excellent and just only allowing eleven runs over the course of forty five innings forty six strikeouts to only twelve walks as a staff again. Joe ryan he's been fantastic eight strikeouts only one walk so the starters there now. I don't know who lines up to start the gold medal game. If it's joe ryan i assume it will be if not. It's certainly looks like nick. Martinez would be next on the line. Or scott casimir would be the two guys potentially pegged to start so looking at some of the other lineups. Let's look at the dominican republic. No they had a few ex major leaguers on their squad. So let's look at how they've been performing so far this year or this tournament for the olympics. You have jose batista. He's hitting one forty three. He is only two for fourteen with one double in one in three total basis. So he's been struggling for the dominican republic. You have milio bonifazio. Only hit in one fifty four as he is too for thirteen on the tournament. So the dominican republic as a team only hidden their offense as certainly let them down even though they're playing for the bronze-medal on the pitching side of things again. They've gotten some good outings. A couple of starts angel sanchez. On hill sanchez scoreless over five innings rove vow dez. One run over five and a third and then you have danielle radius. Who's giving up two runs over four and two thirds innings as well from the starting pitching side of things so a team. Era of three five six for the dominican republic looking at israel who's been standing out for israel as they overachieved by winning a game earlier in the tournament. Shoutout to mitch glasser. He went seven of seventeen hidden. Four twelve as well as ryan lavarnway hitting three fifty seven for twenty during the tournament. Here so a nice tournament for them and then looking at japan's roster as we face off against japan in the gold medal game who are some of the names to watch out for. You have takia kyw. Hit and five hundred. He's five for ten high jato sakamoto hitting three eighty nine seven for eighteen.

usa south korea japan joe ryan dominican republic Tyler austin tristen casas david robertson Nick martinez Rider ryan Scott mcgauchie anthony carter todd frazier Rbi bubba starling eddie alvarez eric phileas jamie westbrook jack lopez

"He's not saving runs on defense. He's not playing every day defensively but the twins able to get a nice hall and executives and sources throughout the industry. We're certainly surprised. And the initial reaction was more or less a. That's a good deal for the twins. A lot of people are saying. The twins got a nice return again. Crews free agent gonna walk. The twins not going anywhere so the leverage was really with the buying team but the twins did nice for themselves. They got pitching prospect. Joe ryan who was kind of the key cog and the return for minnesota twenty five years old ryan generally viewed as a strong prospect. He was a seventh round. Pick back in two thousand. Eighteen major league baseball dot com had him ranked his tampa bay's number ten overall prospects. So minnesota was able to pull number ten out of tampa bay. Which again is pretty high for. A guy like nelson cruz. Who could only be there for about a half a year. He has seventy five strikeouts in fifty seven innings at triple eight this year. He is with the saint. Paul saints aaa affiliate now of the twins again. He was assigned there this year. In twenty nineteen he Bounced around started in single a. Then went to high a. then in double-leg he was Let's see here. Three three games in aa back in twenty nineteen a three three eighty. Ra didn't have a twenty twenty season of course so now at aaa having himself goodyear four and three three six three overall era number ten. So that's a nice pool for minnesota to get him coming back from tampa bay. They also added pitching passback drew strope mint and drew stroman will also be assigned to the aaa team there for the minnesota twins. It's back in two thousand nineteen. He played at two different levels. Rookie ball and high a before being advanced to aaa this year. So a big time jumped from hiatus aaa as well as he's been fantastic. He's got a five point zero six. Cra in high a ball back in twenty nineteen he was. Oh in two and five starts but this year at triple a. For his time with the raise he's twelve starts seven and two record three three nine. Era fifty eight innings so far this year. Sixty two strikeouts so he may not be our have quite the upside as joe ryan but he's been excellent in the rotation so the twins adding to high level minor league arms to their aaa squad and potentially needing that if things continue to not go well and they sell off these guys could potentially be in the show next year or the year after and then the fourth and final piece of the trade the third one coming back to minnesota was reliever calvin fodder hill report to Double a for the minnesota twins again this year for tampa bay. "Kp but it doesn't seem like that's that's really possible and he's talking about revisiting the gary russell junior. Why did you like that when when when they were talking about that. All over the internet. It was something that i was definitely interested in. Oh yeah oh yeah. I wanna i wanna see gary russell get back in gary russell's a good fighter bro. I wanna see him in a big fight. You talk about one to see haney. I wanna see this is another guy that talks and talks and tells everybody he calls everybody. Shorty and you know you know just all types of stuff man like i mean he. He talked about crawford. He talks about anybody haney. He wants a fight. I would love to see him actually receive a good fight where we think he can lose because it's been so long right it's been since the loma chanko fight. Yeah yeah and i. I thought lohman schenker would beat him but I thought he. I thought he fought well on that i thought was a competitive fight. So you know. I think he came back strong. A couple of fights later when he'd be joining gonzales but You know garissa juniors got that. Sneaky power bro. He's got that those punches that you know he hit you with those shots that you can't see no and it's We're due for another gary russell fight we're due for another guy russified. I get tired of the the once a year stuff concerts a year already. Yeah february of two thousand twenty was the last fight. So we're do we're long overdue for a fight and the wbz step in. And you know not sanctioned the joe joe ryan or do you think they won't take it that far they don't care around the wbz will all if you read their rules days. They will bypass mandatory for a fight. That is that is that is a bigger money. Fight the way. Their rules are written at basically says. If you're name you can do whatever the hell you want. Not so many words. That's that's what their rules dictate burson though it's sanction anything. They make their own belts. Specific fights wells does that. They make Correct commemorative belts for events. So it's crazy. I just feel like someone's got silence this kid so behind the gary russell fighter because he seemed like wanted to do it is a promise. If joe joe ends up fighting ryan devon. Dennis got fi- somebody so he he may have. He may be may go after that. Raleigh fight may get made because if no one else wants to fight him. Yeah take off. The thing is roly isn't even ranked in the wbz. And i know for fact that bill is going to go down the line see right now. Not a female is the franchise. Devin is d. wbz. Champ joseph is the wbz interim champ. The seal is number one. So if joe joe says no do you think we find ourselves in a situation where top rank is making a deal with devon haney. I was told top-ranked offer devin haney an offer. More emulsified deal. That was a low ball offer according to bill. He says that's not true. They never received an offer. I don't know. I don't think it would be a good move off devon to go over to Why now he'll get buried over there though he'll get buried over there. What the you think facilitator. You think they'll do some sort of one off fight with zoo. This vessel would fight him. But bob bob trying to say oh well. We can't do that that well i guess. He said that he couldn't do you. Female versus de. But he but he wasn't against doing silver versus devon so that may be an option. Because i when. I last time i talked to bob. He said the soma chango they're gonna they're gonna try to get him back out in december. Oh flip brother. Joseph diaz is up fifty two percent ninety seven votes at that close. Should be that. It shouldn't be that calls. You're right no you're rude. You're right everybody. Everybody should want the joe dias by. I'm gonna. I'm gonna. I'm gonna have to a. I voted for the raleigh fight. Only man he's a good. I think i think just as bad as haney deserves a fight with these bigger names. I think that rowley play such a good villain. He would be great beasts for one of these bigger names in. And if it's if it's haney hey this is the style that you want right like i mean this guy is in this. Technically skill boxer. You should be able to outbox. The question is can you stay away from that. Power all day o. What no way we got e for fernandez with a superstar via cash app saying shutout even from fort worth nessim. Be out outta here. I haven't heard from e fron such a long gooden sway. I got it somewhere around. I remember that presidential insurers identity funny Area that's hilarious. Shout e fron fernandez. That's what's up but i I forgot about lohman janko. Yeah 'cause 'cause detonating versus loma. Janko is definitely a possibility. But i think i think janko and teo but but but again te'o still in limbo right now. That ibm situation. So how long is going to have to wait for t- to get a free and clear from that situation right so so you could never. That's what good de maybe to move right. There may be a good option thing is like maybe may be the mob do it. Is bob gonna say yeah. He'll do it because remember i. I seen what he said about. Crawford he said oh it's different now the wbo's mandated a good fight so basically his energy was more positive because the w. b. o. ordered it versus him just trying to make a but we got a got a five dollar super chat haley haney verses rowley. Good fight danger for haney. Because he has no power finally got the man of the our own. The show fred from barbershop. Conversations.

"I think the quarterbacks you did a bang up job there to getting Both jacks all. Three of jackson darnold newton fee along. Newton hangs onto that starting job So i think that's something to be a little bit concerned with their off. I and interesting guy. I don't know if the if the preseason Hype is going to carry over into the regular season but certainly silva has his finger on that mark andrews. I think he's gonna be solid. Honestly you get the stacking. They're not only lamar jackson. Mark andrus but marquees brown on this team as well so a lot of ravens there he gets barclay to fall into his laughing at eleven In barclays healthy certainly That is going to be a steel there but the story of this team and where it will live and die is all these receivers and certainly a lot more likely to live and die with that lineup. This this draft is contributed to fancy football in so many ways and he knows what he's doing and has an idea of what he wants to accomplish. I love what he did with drugs. I loved what pipleine. I you talk about the hype for the first year We hear a lot about it. And i'm a little bit amazed that an undersized taibbi n Who runs a four nine. Five is getting this kind of attention fantasy football when there's other guys that That that aren't but Nevertheless we'll see what tennessee does with him and Yeah i would have liked to have a little more tiny Final two team. We're gonna look at tonight as the f. fcc main event. Joe ryan lips and he was the first one to take a quarterback tonight he gets patching homes to go with aaron rodgers The co- call the state farm signal. Callers i guess the running back. Jonathan taylor cam acres david. Montgomery melvin. gordon. Kevin coleman to re cohen and anti johnson of running backs there. The receivers deontay. Johnson's tyler lockett court. Lund's sutton devante parker sterling shepherd and aj green tight end rob gronkowski and eric ebro so farrell. He is obviously elite at quarterback. Even if aaron rodgers does not play which let's face it you're going to The the running backs to really good taylor acres. Montgomery even gordon to people are really discounting gordon with all that devante williams love and i and i get it maybe will be the the the starter there. The guy's gonna touch the ball the most. But that doesn't mean melvin. Gordon's going away. So i think he's solidly four deep at running back and maybe even deeper than that. We consider coleman and cohen deontay johnston power lock. Gordon good trio receiver. I think parker's okay and then obviously drops off the shepherd green so maybe a little bit of a question mark there but i think we're this team you know how good it can be is going to be determined by the tight. End play because anger rob gronkowski and airfield about when they're all at the peak of their powers. Yeah they're awesome..

"Its cruelty. It's gonna be a virtual one but You know. I've had so many therapists right to take me out of my feelings over the years that i know when people are in that feelings you have to let them take it. As far as they're going they need to go. They will take themselves out of it when they've had enough and for some people that may be a three minute conversation for other people. They may sit in thirty five minutes but you have to allow people their reality and their experience and let them get to those feelings. Taking people out of it does nothing. And if you don't do the work as a therapist or a coach and you haven't gone to those places see. Nobody can take me where. I haven't been to uncomfortable so doing the work yourself and getting to the darkness to crazy painful hurtful slob. You can sit there yourself and live with it. You can sit with somebody else. "You grow up in a place where you're only allowed to talk about these six things but you're not allowed to talk about these seven thousand it limits you when you start to find out who you are people. Start to gravitate me right now. We're having this conversation. If i didn't go through what i went through. I wouldn't be exploring these ideas with other humans and it feels so incredibly could on every level to find people who speak similar languages that you do because you growing up in a place where you don't feel like you belong you feel like you're alone and you know fit in when you move out of that and you have to find your tribe so to speak. There's an empowerment and there's healing there and there's a positive mirror it is just. You're not gonna do it unless you leave this family system. Find out who you are. What you believe in gravitate and people gravitate towards you and then you just the growth is just just accelerate that sets us up with that empowerment to start to divine those more effective boundaries. With those that do not align with us do not resonate with that area of belief that power energy. Yes you do agree with me. One hundred percents or outside vegetables right. I was plead. My case really really hard because i needed the validation that you got it and it was okay once you start to own your own belief system and you truly start to live it. I don't need you to agree with me. I don't need you to see it my way. I feel comfortable and confident in what i believe in the way i live my life. And you're less judgmental of other humans soon because you found this place of peace and belonging where they have found something. That's different than yours but you don't really care that they look at it your way because you have what you need and everybody's gonna fit in two different places so when you start to feel good about yourself and the people around you and has that ripple effect out. I don't need that outside. I don't need people to see it my way. I don't have a fight to get my point made. It doesn't matter. I know that i own it. And i believe it. And that's enough ad so powerful joe. That's so powerful it's sit. Would it'd be great if we hit all. Just get rid of the false self and the hague and just you know we should all just walk in and grow all out on the table. Start sorting it out. 'cause underneath it all moral the same we just want to be auspey genuine give and receive love and enjoy our existence while we're here and do the best we can for ourselves in the people around us is when you get into that self. Hey and that you know having to have people believe what you believe in. See your way because you're not just long enough to stand on your own with what you believe. It's such a confining limiting space to put yourself in. we put ourselves into that position so often we do There's this safety in the harder. Then you know you're in the middle of the heard you feel very safe. You're out on your own. Your target and it takes a lot more energy and a lot of effort a lot more building of strength to stand on your own in your own belief system especially when it goes against the majority at that point. I'd like to share. If i may three core questions. I feel are crucial in helping others recognize. Release these blind spots one. What am i afraid to simply now. Pretty much everything. I pretty much everything you know if we choose to be afraid of it to. What's the one thing. I least want to accept about this situation. What is the one thing i feel. I'm trying to cover and hide. I don't think the things that i hide. i don't feel a lovable. Because they were never told they were lovable. They will always cause of loss and abandonment. So i feel if i show these things to somebody. They're going to leave. So my responsibility to myself is to get to those places that i feel worthless in a lovable and start to love myself for having these character defects so if i can love him and accept them. It's not going to matter as much if you do or not so often those become those things were. We're looking for that. Constant need for validation verification and acceptance from others in that regard. Yeah i mean you know when you never got it. You crave iranian mean so you don't my whole life has been that way so yeah it's like dopamine it is sometimes in in the worst way you know it's we're craving the things which simply aren't becoming fulfilling because we are comfortable knowing of that. Were aware of it. That is the familiar. It is and when i feel needy on that level where i need to be filled up from outside myself. You know my first immediate responses to tech somebody to see if the connection still. They're still safe at this relationship. Still good when i feel that whatever that feeling of loss and abandonment that comes up like you know every hour and a half all day long i don't reach out and then i purposely self soothe and i tell myself it's okay for me. When something was out of sight. It was gone completely. So i have to learn how to make myself okay. They're just living their life. They're at work do whatever. I'm just feeling extremely needy at this moment. It's not their responsibility to take care of my needs. I'm using them to fill me up. That i don't like to be used and i don't like to use people so i will try to sell sued at that point and that's good practice because you'll feel that hang of am i gotta work was malone. Nobody loves me so when people reach out to get started validation hundred meeting what do you want a few log in that to me. Brings me to that third question. What do i sense instinctively know without acknowledging we have that thought in the back of our mind feeling that gut instinct in the back reminded says this just is not right. I know this just is not serving me and connecting. Wow that is so that takes so much time to hone in on now. you know. i've recently. I was never allowed to have anger so recently i had got really down on myself based on an interaction that i had and i sat with it and what i realized was it was anger. My anger shows a sadness and hurt and worthless not be invalidated identifying what the true feelings are safe. I'm not allowed to get angry. I turn that anger against itself in stopped self hating where i should be able to speak up and say this made me angry. Please don't set that boundary. It's it's identifying the feelings sitting with them trying to understand them and trying not to blame yourself for not getting your needs met from outside more. We can fill ourselves up with ourselves or less. We need to worry about and kind of project from other people to give us what we need. There's a freedom in that if i'm constantly getting validated on the outside. I'm working my azoff to keep relationships to assert level where i'm not focusing on me and what i want and what i need. I'm using you to fill up this hole in my soul where i should be actually taking the time to learn what that whole is and how to heal it any feedback. Be scary to us. You can lead to those uncomfortable feelings. The kind that addresses topics so uncomfortable. You stuff them into that. Blind spot can often become almost intolerable. My god yeah. It's it's so painful not knowing what you feel or why you're feeling it is the worst in the worst thing ever Because my tendency is to hate on myself as self.

"What. They are blind and until they show themselves. Don't ignore them. Hey attention to ride it out. Speak it out. Sit with a trying to see where it leads. Pay attention to the. What is your body telling you. I think it's important that we emphasize that there is no shame. In having these blank spots we are often simply susceptible to experiencing them as an adapted personality. Trait pattern of behavior becomes hidden from view. We moved back into that comfort zone. We bury them because they activate those trauma triggers. We adapt them as at defense or protective mechanism. It's a learning opportunity when they come. It is it's getting shot like getting shot with a gun right. You know you get along you having a great time of relationships going good all the sudden you hear something and it's like oh my god i don't know why but i just lost every ounce of confidence of starting to sweat in panic abandoning coming. Whatever comes up for you and you just spiral and react like the second. But there's a pause so attached to it and i'll just ride it. It'll just pull me down to the abyss if you can kind of laws and pull back from that feeling. It takes practice not listen. Nobody likes to be caught off guard. Man it's just embarrassing would be human about human to yourself. Don't beat yourself up. We all have them and ninety nine point nine percent of the time everybody on the other end when you hit that blindspot has no idea. You think everybody. Does you feel completely exposed if you can kind of. Keep your composure. Get through whatever you're in and then go home to take care of it in slow processing it from your perspective. How do we begin to notice and become more aware of these triggers and become more aware of what these blind spots for me. It's i say this all the time. I have to humiliate myself to myself. I have to go in and look looking. I'm full of shit when i'm lying one pretending i'm putting on a false south an axe myself. Why and it's because. I don't feel good enough as me so i instead of putting myself in a situation getting embarrassed with the blind spots i tried to uncover the blind spots to myself so if i can own things that i don't feel good about myself if somebody calls me if some if i pretended to not be insecure which i did forever because i'm so insecure when somebody would say you're insecure. I would melt like it would just completely take me over once i start to own my insecurities if somebody calls me out and goes look. How insecure this guy is. I'd be like your right. Like i don't know where i went with. That weight on. My confidence goes so when you start to own your own embarrassments. It's hard for people to embarrass you with what you're hiding if you don't hide it anymore. I think it's crucial. In those cases we need to learn to move from subjectivity to objectivity. I'm gonna break this down. A little objectivity being not influenced by personal feelings are pains in considering representing facts. That's hard to do to just consider went them. Represented facts are what we believe are just the essence of something. Yeah i mean it's it's your brain is a part of your that just takes over and there's no logical reasonable thought that goes on and it's like everything just goes on high alert. It's just it's fear fear fear and you can't process in thank you to learning how to breathe into my body learning how not to attach tobacco panic in that sphere trying to my brain to come online a lot quicker not identifying with that part of me that that that shame part. That embarrassment part. It's you know it's pausing at the trauma response like this. This is narrow second. You'll have where you can attach to it. Adjust go right down the hall where you can kind of read and let it pass if i don attached to it a good but it takes practice. And here's the thing you have to actually be caught in blind spots over and over and over again so the more you yourself out there the more you push your limits and walk into that sheer the faster you'll going to learn how to process these things but it's that one split millisecond of a pause that makes all the difference in the world. I am not my trauma. And i did not know that for so long when i realized that it's just a part of me it makes me react in certain ways. It doesn't make me useless doesn't make me worthless. It's just a part of me that i have to inquiry and own and once i own it. I won't feel the response is coming if i go into trauma response now. If it's not bad intense. I could actually talk myself out of and say okay you just you never system just went completely online. Missile trauma response. Just breathe it will be overdone attached to the bullets. Don't keep telling yourself how worthless she wore as a human being because it's just going to make it worse so often were in that relationship to our experience with ourselves and others from that notion of subjectivity. It's based on or influenced by personal beliefs past experiences. Our feelings our opinion of something. This is where many of us remain in our perspective and there is no shame in it yet. It's not fully of service to ourselves. It's not for me. It's not Real i wasn't real and i wasn't genuine. I did not know that. How could i not known that. I was completely living a lie. For so long. I had to get to below point in my life and recall memories of things that have happened that i it completely strip my full self away and realize that i need to build myself as me. I've adopted a belief system that was given to me. I didn't have a choice. I didn't get to choose my religion. I didn't get to choose where i live. Didn't choose the beliefs that would put on me. The choose my heritage but i adopted it as my own. I never questioned any of it. When your life could strip down to nothing you get actually look at the world with a clearest slate and what do i believe you know what my feelings what am i. What's my empathy. How do i look at the world. I was looking through it as a multigeneration hand down of the beliefs. Sit on that. I had to live that way to survive in this house at. If i didn't. I was out so i felt like i had to do the rest of my life. Where now. I start to figure out who i am what i believe and i get to build upon and make my own belief system when we start to heal those inner emotional wounds when we start to awaken to those traumas in start to bridge. That gap were healings. A monette covered at pain. We start to evolve into that state of inner subjectivity where we are able to connect and relate to others from a more emotional neutral perspective. We free ourselves of those judgments and attachments. And then you start to find people who have more of your belief system and then you have more of a positive mirror and then you can sort discussing things and expanding on ideas where when.

"Not real in the present moment. I'm reacting to something that happened when i was eleven. We're searching for that urge to respond to react in a specific or comfortable way. That feels familiar. That makes us feel safe now. I like to look at that notion of comfort. Being comfortable in an of itself is not necessarily the stuck point state. You know what we becoming comfortable to me often can become that limiting factor. Are we comfortable with feeling a certain way or a week. Comfortable with being accepting to what we're feeling in the moving toward that state we desire. Yeah that's that's a real good question. Fine why i'd like to throw that out just for earmark. We're going to unravel all that today so often for my observation we stigmatized that notion of comfort. We so often stigmatized the fact or put that prejudgment there that we have to be uncomfortable to change right so it's it's kind of being comfortable with the uncomfortable and june going through that fear. Which is you know completely insane in my head when i asked this question all the time. I'll get this reaction is like. Is this a valid reaction is. Is this okay to feel this. Can i say these words. Emma i avoiding at my this whole dialogue that goes on i think accepting your fear and sitting with the see where it leads and it's why is this fear here. Am i hiding and avoiding to being comfortable. Mora my moving into uncomfortable situations to learn how to get comfortable. Thank you for opening us to that. I think that's precisely that kind of segue hope we could provide with that. I'm going to leave it. A little open ended. That's something we can revisit another time. Let's move back to understanding and uncovering these things which trigger or trauma response. How can we identify those in re associate within reconnect with them. People which trauma we haven't connected with our bodies since childhood live inside my body in decades when you start going inward and start paying attention to the feeling see me. I would get an uncomfortable. Feeling was like where's the bourbon. When's the we'd let's go chase women. Let's go make whatever it was e just not feeling. It's a win. That feeling comes up instead of running from it kind of let it just absorb you and take you over and sit with that. So i'm afraid of my body and my body reactions to get through that fear. I have to get comfortable with being comfortable within my own skin. And it's painful and it's difficult than every minute feels like a year would sitting with your teaching your brain your body your cells that you can handle and become stronger than your body reactions. I have the scared little child. That's afraid of pretty much everything on this planet. What i'm in this adult body. And it's like i should be able to handle the simple things like go into the counter returning something like it like sending back food for me as like impossible. I start to sweat and it's like because now i'm not in my not in my nice guy people pleaser. I'm actually standing up for myself. So i find what i stand up for myself or somebody is crossing a boundary. I don't feel like i have the right or the self value to speak up for myself. Yes knitting in that comfortable moment where you have that decision i can either sink back into the full self or i can start to learn how to stand up for myself. The less i avoid the more power. I feel that's moving towards that ability to reclaim your ability for authorship and ownership confidently stepping into those states to say i am worthy of this. It's finding out what you're willing to accept a not accept Moving out of your full self family system role. I am really comfortable living in my role. Because i'm making everybody happy because i can't handle uncomfortable feelings and other people that are directed to me so learning how to deal with people not liking the people being upset with not going out of my comfort zone to please other people that emotion that comes up. It feels like it's really the most one of the most painful uncomfortable feelings for me learning how to say no learning how to disappoint by setting boundaries. And saying this is good for me. I'm learning about myself. I need to go home now and get some rest. I don't care if you wanna go out for the next four hours. I know you're not going to like me for. I know you. I know you need a wing man. But i can't sacrifice myself worth. Just keep you happy. That is one of the hardest places for me to dive from my perspective. In order to process those past traumas and released that emotional reactivity we fall back on this often repeated mantra feel it process it release it. What is this feeling here to tell me. What is it here to truly up my eyes to uncover. Nobody knows way more than you will ever know intellectually like that is what you know. I try to go in my head reason and work it out at. Can't your body knows what you need. It's starting to pay attention so when you get that uncomfortable feeling instead of running or going. I'm useless i'm worthless. I'm not competent. I'm not good enough. I can't do this at all that fear that comes up. It's actually sitting with it. At the beginning. I would sit for three or four minutes with the feelings. And i would have to tap out. It was way too intense but over time. I've gotten up two hours. Where i can sit with the feelings and it gets the point where i'm not gonna let you beat me and i wanna become stronger than you paying attention to your body and not running from it and embracing it and just really seriously. It's each so. I've cut off anger. I off disappointment at cut off all of these feelings and they're so far away from my being that anytime i feel anger it turns into. I'm worthless if somebody disrespects. I don't go you know what you just disrespected. That feel good. It might brain on completely worthless if i was better. You wouldn't have done this and upset me. But meanwhile they don't even know that they did upset me so paying attention to your feelings near emotions in.

The Case Of Chad And Lori Daybell

"Dick I feel like we've kind of been just living this case the last several days there's so much that we had to delve into. So let's just start with an overview of the timeline going back to the beginning because it's very complicated and as much for me as for the listeners a little review and a little in-depth investigation into these things would be helpful both helpful the me. We did last week's first part of this and I'm just at the time you do it do the recording. It sounds reasonable. Then as I think back about it, I'm trying to say what happened when who did what? So. This'll be very helpful. It's a crazy thing and of course, with the tragic ending, which is horrible. So. Let's go back to Chad Day Bell. He married his first wife Tammy in nineteen ninety and they had five children together over the years in Nineteen ninety-two Laurie got married for the first time at age eighteen and this marriage only lasted a very short time under a year from what I've heard. Then she remarried in nineteen ninety five and that's when she gave birth to her son Colby in nineteen, ninety six. Again, she got divorced then in two, thousand one, she married Joseph Ruin and Laurie and Joe had their daughter Kylie together in two thousand and two, and just a little bit of a word about Tyler's childhood. We we know that she was used as a pawn by Laurie and her divorce custody filings against Joe Ryan. But there's also some evidence fairly convincing evidence that Laurie mains have had Munchausen by proxy pilot who's in and out of the hospital many times, and she even had exploratory surgery to quote figure out what was wrong unquote and that's something that just. Really isn done nowadays, right? No, it isn't that if we go back a few years that was something I mean if if you have parent who keeps bringing a child into the office bureau for various complaints and you have run tests and nothing ever shows up, you might have considered doing an exploratory bit of surgery as probably a what's called a lap me. Where they look inside the the belly at the F. Domino contents and maybe take biopsies just to see if there was something that they had missed Leah from my experience on a pediatric surgical floor though they only do that when they're like at the end of their rope, this is after days of observing taking the kid off of a regular diet doing. IV fluids run, they do a lot of things I and the munch just love to hang out in the room for days and get the attention. So this is very classic Munchausen by proxy behavior who certainly is yet it really is and no illness was ever determined, which is significant I think road even with the surgery. Yes. So so there you go. Exactly. Nine, two, thousand when Tyler was about six, her therapist raised concerns about the stress Tyler was going through with her health issues and the custody issues. Tally, did say to the therapist that she did enjoy visits with her father. There were documented concerns about Laurie being dishonest on Tyler's intake forms. One of these things whereas where Lori said, the tally had pancreatitis. The custody documents I was able to peruse showed that Kylie did say she enjoyed visits with her father but then she told the therapist that she was frightened to stay overnight because her father molested her now she used the word molested and when her mom came into the room with her and the therapist apparently tie looked at Lori and said I, told her. So it just really I'm not convinced that Joe sexually abused tightly and I'll always believe someone until I have reason not to especially a child but there were some classic signs of the Mother Coaching her. So in two thousand, four, Laurean Joe were divorced and Laurie remarried Charles Valo in two, thousand six. Now for those of you who are counting Charles's husband number four. Yes, and in two thousand, twelve, a little boy named Joshua. Jackson was born he's he's the biological child of Charles Valez nephew his grandparents cared for jj until they made the decision along with Lori and. Charles that Lori Charles would adopt and raise JJ, and this was back in two thousand fourteen. Laurie already had colby and entirely. So the grandparents K. and Larry Woodcock were really thinking that they might have a better home there because there'd be other kids. It's kind of their little bit younger than Larry and K. so laurie who they thought was just a wonderful mom. At, the time agreed to adopt the little boy with Charles and then Laurie Charles entirely moved to Hawaii along with JJ services in two thousand fourteen when the adoption went through the options gone through and we've Kurt the family now lorries. Oldest son is what out of the house at this point because he's like eighteen nineteen, he didn't move to Hawaii with them now. He didn't in two thousand fifteen back to Chad, Tammy and the family moved to Idaho from Utah Right, in two years later, the veil of family moved back to Arizona, from Hawaii then on April third two, thousand, eighteen lorries, ex husband, her third husband Joseph Ryan was found dead in his home Laurie was notified as she was still listed as his next of kin. Didn't notify Joe's sister Anne who by all accounts she was very close to Anne was still a part of tiles life, your birth Maurice to ruin agenda Yes. I know we've talked about this a little bit in part one, but you did get a chance to review the autopsy. They were a few things that stuck out to us like the fact that the height was off and they call them a heavyset guy which he really wasn't. No. But remember he was in his apartment for at least a week decomposing before anyone found was a neighbor who found him that's correct. Yes and we don't have the entire autopsy but the cause of death was per tiriac sclerotic heart disease, which means that you're coronary arteries getting clogged up, which isn't really crazy for a fifty nine year old man to die of in general but

Doomsday Parents, Chad And Lori Daybell

"Laurie Velo Bouza forty, six year old mother of three married a fifty one year old father of five Chad Day bill. On November fifth two thousand nineteen in Kauai Hawaii. Chad's wife for close to thirty years. Tammy. Day. Bill have been found dead in her home just two weeks earlier. So obviously, they didn't waste much time remarrying. Stunningly Quick Tammy was in apparently healthy forty, nine year old woman infectious training for a marathon. Just, ten days before her death, which was October ninth two, thousand, Nineteen Tammy reported on facebook and the police that masked man had shouted her with what she thought could be a paint gun what's going on there right? Exactly. The other very interesting aspect is Laurie and Chad had picked out and ordered their wedding bands more than two weeks before Tammy Steph. That's right. Shoe on that one for a while right so October fourth to fifth tammy visited her parents Beck in Springville. Utah, where she's from and then a few days later on October nine, a man ski mask was shooting at her so I guess the police decided it was just some kind of prank because she thought it was a paint gun and they never found the guy, but it's very curious. WHOA, it is and it's really just the tip of the iceberg in this really strange case with all the suspicious occurrences just everything surrounding lawyer and Chad, his mess and very suspicious of course. Yes that's an understatement. So Chad Chad Day Bell is lawry's fifth husband. Laurie was born Laurie Noreen Cox June twenty sixth of Nineteen seventy-three in San Bernardino California and she grew up with two brothers Alex and Adam and two sisters Stacey and summer Alex Cox plays a really large role in this whole story so you need to remember him Adam lives in Kansas and he's worked as a radio personality, but he's pretty much out of the whole seen as far as we know so far. Stacy Cox died in her parents home when she was just twenty two years old and this was from complications of type one diabetes lorries remaining living sister Cox shift. Let was one of lorries, biggest defenders until June of this year, and that's when the remains of her children jj entirely were discovered on the property of Chad debacle. Now, people who knew Lori will have said that she really became a person after she became involved with shed she had been considered an excellent mother. And a good friend to many many years ago back in high school Lori was a happy energetic cheerleader at nineteen years of age. She married her high school sweetheart Nelson Jawans. This marriage is over within a year. Then when she was twenty two in Nineteen ninety-five Laurie Mary twenty-three-year-old. William but Sheila, and this marriage was in Travis County Texas. They had a son named Colby in one, thousand, nine, hundred, ninety six, and they ended up divorcing in nineteen. Ninety eight. So, by the time, she was twenty five years old she'd been married and divorced twice already. See and she has one child, and then in two thousand. One Lori Mary Joseph Ryan Joe Converted to Mormonism, and that was the religion it Laurie had been raised in. He didn't legally adopt coby coby took his last name. and. He and Laurie had a daughter together. That's highly in two, thousand, two and two, thousand, four in August Joe filed for divorce from Laurie. And it was finalized in two thousand five. In two, thousand, six, Joe Ryan filed a complaint with the court stating Lori was not complying with the visitation order. He asked she'd be held in contempt then August two, thousand, seven Joe is attacked by Laura's brother Alex. For. This guy chases show around with stun gun. He tased him twice and he threatened to kill him. Yes. So I'm going to ask probably a stupid question is this because of the divorce or because he took her back to court. I'm thinking it was related to the custody issue because the divorce was already finalized been finalized for over a year. But you know she was also looking at some trouble because she was in contempt of court. She wasn't bringing tighly for her visits and she was keeping tidily away from him. So, Alex Laura's brother was very protective of her and actually seemed obsessed at the time with killing Joe. Ryan the incident happened when Joe was leaving a supervised visit with his daughter Kylie and the attack ended when an eyewitness showed up. So Alex, pled guilty to aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury and ended up serving ninety days in jail, and this was in Austin Texas. But the custody battle between Joe and Laurie over tighly really got very dark at one point Laurie head to install cameras in the children's rooms and in the living room for the court to see what was going on in her house. But no abuse apparently was found from that camera footage but just so you know this was a really nasty custody situation. You're S, and then we have Joe Dying in April of two thousand, eighteen still young man. This was determined to be a heart attack they did not topsy, but then he his remains were cremated. This whole time has custody battle with over Retali- had continued to be ongoing, right? I. Believe he was fifty nine but he was pretty healthy and there were some strange things about his autopsy as well. Roy Yeah now the court documents say that Joe Ryan accused Laurie of parental alienation alleging that he had not seen his daughter for more than a year at one point. And he also referred to a court appointed psychologist who had interviewed Lori. And according to court paperwork the psychologist David, our pool
