"After building their own army and california story mile. I mean so passe. Assassinating a lawyer with the arm. I mean come on so senate on where the troubled teen industry gets it. Start right. This is the first time that judges are like. Oh we don't have to just throw these kids in prison which is admittedly the wrong thing to do with the kid who you've caught with weed or something but instead to like just hand them over to this weird cult and the cote will abuse them until they don't smoke pot anymore and this will solve our problems forever. Okay fuck out of them. Yeah by the early sixties senate on a bonafide phenomenon and they'd inspired a dizzying variety of imitators who used variations of their methods. One of these imitators was the day top village in new york. Which is actually the second ever drug rehab program in the united states was created in one thousand nine sixty three just five years after senate on started and the data village followed. What they call a therapeutic community style of treatment which is where the actual work of rehabilitation is done by other addicts. Counseling and holding each other. Accountable isn't the same thing. Senate on dead and part of what they mean by. That is again you all sit in a room together and yellow abuse each other. Some people said this helps. I've never gone. I've never been addicted to heroin. Maybe maybe it has. I don't try it. I guess it's worth daytime. Village has not been accused of the same kind of abuse of cinnamon and they never tried to build their own. Marine corps or assassinate. A lawyer with a rattlesnake obviously problematic things about daytime. They didn't go as over the goddamn top as a synonym did for our purposes day. Top village in new york is noteworthy. Because in the late nineteen sixties. A troubled eighteen year. Old named joe ritchie was sent there. Joe would go on to create the alon school which might be the most abusive troubled teen institution to ever exist but to properly tell that story. We've got to go back in time again. And give joe's backstory. So i had to talk about the troubled teen industry starts. Let's talk about joel. Born in porchester new york in nineteen forty five to parents who were deeply troubled. They split up and we don't know why but a hint as to why may come from the fact that his father frank was nicknamed bamboo because he was so good at bouncing back after getting punched in the face during the near-constant bar fights he had at local bars life. His nickname in town was like that guy. Could kit kit. Wow he's really get. The ship punched out of bamboo. Baylor call him punch. I mean that's a weird those the vibe of those people who just take shots like kind of sad more bar fight immortals. Imagine the energy swinging around that kind of person. I'm not surprised. His marriage didn't last. Yea i don't even know how to respond to physical stimulus. Eos verbal just any kind of emotions guy. He was a day laborer in known locally as quote a kingpin of bar fights violent but also charming which is probably how he snared and santoro. Joe richie's mother. Now the santo rose and the ritchie's were both italian american families but the santoro family hated the ritchie family because the ritchie family was newer to the country. Who didn't speak english very well. When an and frank split up she signed over custody of her son joe to her parents. Michael and angela and joe was raised by his maternal grandparents and several other relatives so from the beginning. This kid doesn't have you know his mom when she splits up with this husband like signs over custody to his grandparents which is kind of odd move as well but this is also a period. In which single motherhood is really in some cases like even legally penalized so like. I guess it makes the degree of sense as to why this happened. The santoro family were job was raised was they. Were poor but proud and they regularly attended mass at the holy rosary. Church as a young child. Joe was an altar boy. He spent time in the community center where he learned to box play basketball. One of his friends at the time fixed anada remembered him. This way quote. We called him joe rich he was a good guy. But i've never seen anyone is wild. Joe is really tough. If you were nice to him he'd be your friend but you didn't want to mess with him. He was always looking over his shoulder. And if you did something to cross him he'd never let you forget it. Joe rich was sharp. Knew how to survive. I used to think he had nine lives. If he did something really wrong he'd get out of it. Somebody else would take the heat. He always had himself covered. It seems joe rich knew where to go. He was definitely ahead of his time. When we were involved in basketball games he was thinking about stealing cars. I really figured he'd eventually be successful either. That or debt. Serve wild thing to say. Little bamboo dna to With the nine lives. I when i was like well. We were playing basketball. I thought you were saying like he was like he. He like in the middle of the basketball game. He's like checked out he's like how are we going to steal. These cars gets hit and had the basketball johnny. Say come on man. You're thinking about stealing cars again. Fuck we're gonna lose. Yeah sorry now miles. You know who else likes to steal cars. These advertisers Yup we are entirely sponsored by a ring of car thieves and shock chop shops. So if you're looking for a nice new stolen car check out one of these days. Marriage is best known better Facebook. Okay? Yeah. This makes me laugh earlier. You. Somebody in here made a point earlier about Bill Gates. Being demanding privacy during his divorce. All these celebrities do this kind of thing. As soon as the news breaks about their, you know, they don't really well. Hollywood types of Bill and Melinda Gates might want some Bry Vusi course they can hire privacy. There is no problem for him to keep people miles from his home. They've been spying on us. It's Windows 3.1. That's the point that I think Hollywood celebrities say that even though they want the attention, but the gates probably don't but them asking for privacy after spying on us and using and selling our personal information for years. It's absurd. Alright. Facebook has the same problem right now. Specifically with Apple platforms. People that are apple users. IPhones Mac books that they didn't get a divorce, too. Did they know they're asking? Why are we being spied on? And so Facebook and Instagram. It's the same company. They answered. The question calls days. Money, innit? Well as ridiculous. All of the money y'all as ridiculous is this answer is okay. What was their answer? Technically, it's true. Facebook is telling Apple users that they need to track your dad up. Because that allows them to keep the platform free of charge. Ah, they're they're not lying any time. There's a any time there's a product, especially in the digital world. Any time. "Example I'm confused here and might be coming here for just a second when you're all done we'll get to Joe rich so the San Jose giants voice you gotta call some San Francisco Giants games this year but special times we thought we showed up the same as a giant they were spraying champagne down there as soon as a muny and Joe rich so who's been put in a lot of lot of years down there in the four oh eight and got to enjoy it's a joke I don't recall we had your number from actual if not it's been a while the good to have you back on the room a gas line in the Hey man happy champagne day down in San Jose I don't show. you're going to hear from you guys you know we we get a chance to kind of cross paths every spring when I'm down there call in the games are for the giants but that yeah it was a great run at the end of the regular season in San Jose much of the year that the club struggled they go through a managerial change in in July they respond to that very well and that one ten out of twelve over the final two weeks of the regular season to clinch on the final day so it's always when you get down to that last day that the winner your end situation and and and they did that behind them some big band prospecting and enjoy themselves after and and that it's a it's a pretty quick turn around to get one day off when you jump right into the post season which begins tonight at down in San Jose. well it's going tonight in by the big news for my call our guys down there all the time keeping score by the way if you go to can be our dot com you can see footage of this as a jazz going wild in the clubhouse is kind of fun everybody's curious you get to see these guys in their infancy so give us maybe the mean obviously Joey bart was there Ellie Ramis was there but beyond those two who else did you see Joe that giants fans are gonna love yeah it it's an interesting year in the tent that when those two guys were promoted up to Richmond in early August this team actually got a little better yeah I think they kind of rallied around each other and said that they you know we've still got quite a bit Allen and and we think we can make a run in and they delivered on that and I think the guy at the top of the list right now is young starting pitcher by the name of Tristan back who at the giants to trade or he was with the big prospect that came over from the Braves in the Lansing deal are right at the deadline that there at that Tristan was thrilled to to take here that he had been traded in the tents that use a a California guy you grew up down your LA and he played his college ball that you're in the bay area at Stanford who's very familiar with the giants and being out here and he's carried did this rotation that along with bad grades be down the stretch and that he was the guy that was on the mound at the final day of the regular season and that you know do or die situation you throw seven innings one run through a lot of strikes in and led the team to a victory he's the guy who I think you've got three potential plus pitches which is not something you see very often at the high a level it's at a mid nineties fastball has a good curve it's a good change up by it Armonk really saw something in this guy willing he traded foreign and even though he battled injuries in the past the he missed a full year at Stanford and he was out most of the first half this season while picking in the Braves organization there is clearly a. a real talent there and now that he's healthy he he really felt that this line up in San Jose hopefully you've got a couple more start to head in the post season and I've already decided to send him to the Arizona fall league these gonna be a teammate of Joey Barton Ellie roblox and that some of the other top prospects down in the AFL gear coming up in a few weeks like that also tells you what the giants are thinking about Kristen back in I believe you've got a chance to move real quick through this farm system double a and B. on next year as awesome I love hearing that people the over you focus on the Milan to trade about the salary dump all their lives so there is a no no they also got Tristen back Joe rich here is telling you is a guy to watch so this is great man I know it's exciting a love that park in a love that sure by the way but if you go to work every day how do you stay away from the truth I I you know you I need to a day. a difficult and they bring him up to the press box right around the seventh inning Mary night. it it the toughest decision of my evening he was in jail you gotta exercise and major discipline said only mackerel well listen what so can refresh it again tonight for people want to come by what what's the schedule. yeah so it panel days in a best of five north divisions here either playing by Salia which at the at the back the Philly at games one and two are in San Jose tonight and tomorrow seven o'clock you start both evening and then they will ship device daily over the weekend I you're gonna be a great series because by say they had a great year they had the best record thirty games about five hundred I just got a rolled through everybody but you've got that the Seattle they giant they finished on this this great run so I I think you got this fun match up the best team in the league first is the hottest team in the league and we'll we'll see what happens yeah we got playoff baseball tonight and tomorrow and and we hope to have some great crowds out there and sounds really thought every I I'd say if you're down the area man that sounds like an awesome Wednesday Thursday night double dip down there all right Joe congradulations on it and enjoyed you when you came up and called the big club to that was really good and and continued success man thanks for coming on yeah they grab me got there is Jo Rizzo and with all due respect to those who spend corporate dollars file this under the three com park file I'm not calling sailors a muny excite ball park I won't hold it against you I never called the candle stick three come not even once nor did I call it monster park well excite bought the rights to center the muny excite the call at excite bug holder will call an exciting bro I'll give you love for Judas Priest track exciter. it comes to the ball park summer but I don't know any great is there Marley doing so well in the river cats are in the playoffs another giant furnaces as a giant that's awesome right all of a sudden wanted Jill the there's a cupboard yeah I mean you open the cupboard you got like I said that a jar tuna fish and that's it no I don't know how we can but we can't a tune you could well I mean they always did or something yeah you got like four kinds of serial killer Megan cocoa puffs on honey nut Cheerios excited for the future you got Rameau's you got jelly you got Corey you got bart you got Tristen back and you got in the back really to write about it all on the my guess lies eighty we did a little a little a little juggling there my friend we had Joe rich so come on to talk about the excitement as soon as the giants so thanks for your patience due to high noon this morning Andy I'm done good I did not have to follow Jill to tell fact but I got some jelly at my covered as well. there you go so this Tristen Becky mentioned I confess I got sort of slipped on that a little bit I mean every so focused on Barton Rameau's and then even to a younger degree mark a Luciano but I imagine for you any given that this is your job the Tristen back acquisition was something that caught your eye yeah I mean what you know when they made the deal and and we found out the Braves were taking all of Milan since money I mean that that could be a difference maker that could be the difference in basketball mark we signing with you know the extra fourteen fifteen million legacy of next year and then any any players that they've gotten that deal is almost gravy and and they got it one is pretty good I mean we've seen what Kristin back is done in six or seven starts for San Jose and you know down the pipeline you've got a little brother to at Stanford branded who is probably even better not a right handed pitcher I think he's just finishing up his sophomore year this year but a guy to watch definitely in the draft maybe next year but yeah I mean that the fact that the giants have gotten some inputs in their system the fact that they've moved to some players up to change successfully this year it's been a great year for the farm system and and yeah that there's no better person I know that winning is sometimes thought of a secondary but I think it's more important than ever because you got these guys who are so focused on your being on the showcase circuit and playing in the perfect game and does stuff and all that you know they they're showing off their tools and skills you know winning is another skill it's it's tough to quantify but but being able to be part of a winning team and clear the scoreboard and make good decisions and and and sort of this for your heart beating big moments you know when it's when I go home I think all that is important to and in fact is the giants at almost every level are are are able to introduce guys to that kind of playoff pressure that that's pretty cool I'm actually gonna be thrilled about that it has been one of the story lines of the of the far Hon year one is that the the miners are women in the in the talent is common and talk a little about these guys were up right now I mean obviously September's you know there. nine out the loss column forget it you know but you know they made a little run but here comes Chris Shaw it was very soon to bond here come the any number of pictures I'll Rogers Tyler Rogers yes right my favorites if you had to kind of power rank maybe the most the guys you think have the brightest futures here with the giants in who are who will see the most in September who who these young guys should fancy paying attention to yeah you know I I I think I'll probably would put it on the top of the list just based on what I've seen from him defensively early on you you can see how much ground you can cover on the middle infield and in it really looks like he plays a lot of energy and and I just heard so much about his instincts and insist that he's a winning player and obviously not quite sure what he's capable during that that that he's got a home run already in a double so you know I yeah I think we're gonna we're gonna see a lot of him in September and and and and you know it it's it's it's going to you with a quick question and how much of a chance he gets click the still have to give Julie record a fast you still have to give like a strange skin at bats you know there's there's just a lot of different people they want to take a look at Alex Dickerson they want to see how the if he can continue what he's been doing and stay healthy so you know an individual in a we had a little bit of a setback but one guy who is a young guy but I'm sure they want to see is Johnny Cueto see what he can do when he comes back so it should be an interesting month even though you know obviously there to pretty much not in the play actually see more Hey real quick on this corpsman Joseph pick up is this just a quick bandaid or is he somebody the final give a look at. well he's thirty years old it like three seventy the PCL in years available is left handed you can play on the infield and you know for for the time being they really didn't have anybody else you could back up Evan Longoria at third base you know I think they wanted to go on to to kind of focus on the middle infield spots and not have him as an occasional third baseman and plus up he's looking at it so you know this is a guy who can make you still in a little bit of some of the middle infield spots against righties from time to time but I think primarily he was brought in to be a back up third baseman and and we'll find out I think you they had a spot on the forty maybe could create and they still probably need to create another one if if they do quality when Davis after the the PCL season is a is over and as we mentioned Sir second I was playing out Los Vegas tonight starting a playoff series so I would expect we'll see mostly sort to after a river catch your done playing and they may have to create a forty minute spot or two but you know for now it's it's a it's a guy who was out there is looking into place on the infield so he did to me we're talking about they giants obviously going to Saint Louis tonight last night's game was on our mind is there a crowd resist performance and we've been talking about it every morning like kinda this rotation we we.

"Joe rich is gonna join us here store guys. Just let me know when he's ready. Voice of the San Jose giants and. The first thing we're going to tell Joe is that he better memorize our number because. I mean sure false guys you've got back me up on this, especially for people who might you know, maybe they're just tuning into to this for the first time at the beginning of the week. I said we gotta we gotta get the pipeline going now, and we're going to need a bark correspondent. And so we had some ideas on that. You know, maybe maybe we could find a fan down in San Jose. It would go to all the games. And then and then it got really good. And we're like, no, let's go high end. Let's get the man who actually calls all of Joey BART's at bat and on the very first game in San Jose, the home opener tonight, the rookie delivered and in a huge way. Three for four had a home run. A broke up a scoreless tie in the six with a base hit also is doing incredible work defensively. Did I leave anything out Joe Rizzo? Mark. It's been it's been quite a show. He is certainly lived up to the hype here at his first week in California league that throughout two more runners on the bases. He threw four guys on the basis two days ago in Stockton. But yeah, it was a fun night here at San Jose with a great crowd for the home opener. And of course, it's Joey bar that drives in the first run of the of the home schedule here at any breaks the game wide open with a home run in inning later. And he got all of it. He was sitting on a pitch and a four hundred to feed exit velocity, one hundred ten miles an hour. It left this park in a hurry. And it was a real buzz in this stadium tonight. It was a lot of fun to see Joe. And of course, this wasn't just tonight. He's been doing some really good things on your early road trip. Give it give everybody just an overall idea of what Joey Bart has has done and looked like. So far the first game of the season. Eight the triple out to to deep center invites Celia, not exactly a guy known for his his great speed. But he was able to delay get out. And then first home run of the year came on Monday night and Stockton got a three. Oh, green light said to me after the game that. Yeah. You know, I'm not afraid to to swing on three. Oh, especially in that situation with a couple of runners on and counted on to be the guy to drive in the runs in those spots. So he he took a rip on three. Oh and a three run Homer. And and led the giants to a win that day. And then tell you what I think his most impressive game 'cause we all know he can hit, and it can certainly hit it at this level right now. But I thought his most impressive game was was two days ago out in the stock and for what he did defensively and he threw out four runners on the basis that day to try to steal his pop times down to second are just fantastic. And of course, he's got a great arm. They also picked off two runners on the basis, including one at first with the bases loaded. They don't one run game picked off a guy. Eat back picked him. And it ended the inning giants ended up winning that game by a run. So you throw out four guys on the basis and you win by one run. I mean, he's all big plays over the course of a of a baseball game. So we kind of all knew about what he can do offensively. And he's certainly as advertised, but I really been blown away about what he's done defensively with his arm really making an impact there. And I know the giants folks front office people that are down here on our nightly basis to to watch him. Specifically that they've been been very very happy with what he has shown this first week or so now in a colleague so they've been down there as far on out the game tonight. I don't believe. I know Jeremy Shelley the assistant GM he's been out for a couple of games. And a lot of the top farm director, pharma development people here. They've also been out. But it it's almost on a nightly basis. And I think that's a one of the reasons why you know, he's here in San Jose's. He's I getting a chance to work with the giants manager here. Bill Hayes who's a catching guy can coach and San Francisco for all those years they were winning the World Series. So he's getting hands on instruction would Bill. But it's also the fact that we're forty five minutes down the road from San Francisco, so any one of the front office folks that wanna come down and watch him play. And I give a night it's very easy for them to do that and get their own set is on their top prospect. So what do you think another week maybe two before he gets called up? What's the deal here? I don't know as far as I know there. There's no set plan in place. You know, it there's still something to be said for the fact that he's in his first full year. You know, he he's he's going through a hundred and forty game minor league season here for the first time. But the way it's going he certainly eventually going to get moved up. I'll be curious to see at what level you know in. Buster Posey was here in San Jose ten years ago. I really the exact same situation. First round pick first full pro year. They jumped BUSTER up from San Jose all the way to triple eight. Yep. Just had him completely skip over devil. A kept off of the east coast and by September. He was called up San Francisco, and of course, year later, we all know what happened in two thousand ten whether or not Joey takes that route. I I don't know I have been telling folks at the beginning of the year, you know, let's temper the expectations a little bit. This guy's got forty games of pro experience or whatever it is coming into the year. But. I don't know if I could say that anymore. He has been as advertised, and and you know, his performance will dictate how quickly he moves up. And I don't know if what's going on in San Francisco in terms of their win loss record way. Whether that may have kind of any kind of impact on ultimately, if he gets called up to the highest level this year, but he's doing all that he can right now here in San Jose at the plate and in the field. Good luck tempering expectations when lake and a half. And you've already got is calling. You after games? I mean. Yeah, I think the cat's out of the bag. Joe Renzo is the voice of the San Jose giants. Joey Bard has been fantastic Joe since you've been around him. I mean, we can you know, we see the highlights online. You can look at stats. That's fine. What about the what about the kid? What about the guy? What what do you see? Well, you know, it was interesting because he pretty much spent the entire spring in big league camp which. A great experience for him, obviously. And and he did quite well and a lot of hands on instruction. So when he joined the San Jose team it was right at the very end of minor league camp. So it was kind of a crash course for him in terms of getting a no all these teammates as brand new to the organization drafted less than a year ago has to get to know an entire pitching staff. Fourteen fifteen guys down here. Many which he's he's never caught. He's probably never even met before. So you know, a lot getting thrown at him right now. But obviously, he's passing all these tests with flying colors. You know, he's got a very kind of quiet confidence to him. He's a lot like BUSTER Posey in that regard. And that, you know, he's he's not one of those guys, you know, in the clubhouse the dugout that is really outgoing. But you know, and a guy like that talks, you listen and right now he's surely talking with his game at the moment. So I I think I think his experience in big. Camp just did wonders for his confidence because you watch him play. Right now, you watch the way he carries himself. You know, he knows that. He he belongs, and he's got a chance to do something real special this year. And and and hopefully, you don't move up move up quickly here through the giants farm system. So he's been he's been great to to deal with and work with on a on a daily basis here in San Jose. And and like you said what we'll see how how much longer we we do have a chance to watch him play out here in the south bay. Yeah. I don't know. How long is going to be there? But along z is or are you ready for us to to call? You a lot. We've been we've been talking about putting something together. Call the Bart report. We've got these cool sound effects now. You know with the baby we got all the bark sound effects jank's.

"So great. It's what he did. Saturday Night, Live and. Perfect parody of who this guy is. And what he's been doing for at least the entire time. He was in the White House, and we've been talking about it all this time. And why the Democrats didn't say then dude you've got to deal with this situation. You can't keep doing this. But they never said anything, Jim, nobody said anything, Jim. They just kept letting him do it. It's crazy. The videos just so I can't get over. How funny the video isn't it shouldn't be that funny? But then that President Trump tweeted it and said welcome back, Joe rich, but to go on he he actually has even bigger trouble. It's fun for the media. And these breathless anchors to say, oh, a seventh woman has come forward to say Biden made her uncomfortable with an Ted, it's not just rubbed shoulders. There are reports of people sharing stories about sexual improprieties at these. Events. And then after they share their story, Biden touched her. What is that? So off the charts. Bizarre. But the bigger thing that people were sort of ignoring because it's not as sexy is that whole Ukraine thing you're following that. Right. You bet. And the reason why they're not covering it is because it's tied to everybody else inside to Hillary Clinton. It's tied to Barack Obama. It's it's it's types the entire democrat party. And we already know that that Ukraine government is doing an investigation into the fact that their intelligence agencies were trying to dig up junk on Donald Trump and his campaign as well. Just like the Russians were just like the Great Britain. Gout government was all to the benefit of Hillary Clinton. If there was collusion with a foreign entity. It was the Clinton campaign. It was the Obama administration trying to go after then candidate Trump, and I think that is why they're doing everything they can to get him out. Of the race on.

I have a whole I have a whole bunch of celery every morning when I get up and I look forward to it. Because of you. No, you're lucky. It's about twenty four hours. Oh my gosh. Do not say anything like that. We serve you right now. Don't make it worse in my household. Here's the thing. Anthony, my wife picked up your book because we have a friend with MS, and she's real she really struggles. And she started reading your book. And she said, this guy is amazing and has made a huge impact on my life. And my wife read it read your book, and she came to me, and she's like you have to read this book, and you have to start drinking shell celery juice that I'm like, no one or the other read the book or celery juice, and she said read the book, and you'll understand the celery thing I read the book, and the problem is I find your arguments credible. But I hate you for it. You know, the the thing is with with celery. It's the single most powerful remedy right now on the planet to get somebody to move forward. Finally, we have a coal that moves the needle for people that have been stuck anybody with multiple sclerosis Hosh motorcycle Roditis or anything going on Lyme disease. All of it can can really get a leg up in move forward. When you're doing that celery chiefs, and there's so much confusion out there right now to why it works or how it works. And and what they'll throw at you is. Oh, science research hasn't figured you know, they haven't figured it out. They haven't even looked at celery. So it's, you know, people say well can't work. It can't work in research has looked at it science and research is so behind on chronic illness. It's unbelievable over two hundred fifty million Americans alone suffer with a symptom or condition. We're science research that I wanna know. Worth and research to the mama. Can't get out of bed and can't take care of her hits and has no answers, and she's fatigued door with multiple sclerosis. There's no science research for any of that you go to doctor to doctor to doctor to doctor. You take a medication? You know? Maybe it works a little bit. Maybe it doesn't take the edge off it. It's actually it's actually so disappointing and somebody ways in so many people are suffering struggling, it's unbelievable. So yeah, the information in the medical meaning book and liberal rescue my latest book, which is because all of this just really stems in the liver. And I talk about why celery juice move people forward. It's the first thing it's not even a trend. It's bigger than a trend a trend doesn't work. The thing about the trend doesn't work. It never does. It's only it's a trend is propelled and created by money. It, you know, by interest by money. That's the investors created trend, and then people use it or whatever. And it could it could maybe make them feel a little bit better. Maybe not nobody knows. But this is getting people better. It's a grassroots movement that had been building for years with celery that he started. And now it's taking over in a really sorry. You got stuck into believing? Now. Okay. So anthony. And I hate to be a hate to be, you know, I hate to over share here. But good Lord, man. I just I I can't conduct business because I'm just like skews me. I I've I've got to go in the other room for a few minutes and just fart. I'm mean for the love of Pete does that ever stop? It does it does. And make sure your wife is straining the celery juice, so after she chooses it. Grab a fine stringer. He does brainer. Yes. Yeah. That's really important and fifteen ounces if you're still having if you're having that kind of thing going on at sixteen ounces. Then wait before you move it up. But I want to wait around. What are you with your mind? Are you out of your mind? Oh my gosh. Okay. All right. Stations or anywhere. My wife is edit that part of this interview out relies that's crap. All right. He wasn't talking about me. Now. Listen. You know? I I really I really am. M frustrated with you because the I've gone to doctors for about eight years. And so I know what it's like when people just can't find an answer. I had I've leaky gut I have adrenal fatigue, and I'm gaining. I'm getting fat, and I have an deliver that's your liver. So that's a big part of all that. And that's why it's so good. You're drinking the celery juice because shot Joe rich showed up. I was just I showed up on this L reduce shut up. Okay. So. So here's here's the thing. I've read your story. I know I I read the, you know, the the parts of that book that that, you know, pertain to the things that I have seen and you are so very clear on it. You you you are really the only person that I have seen that nails how I feel in its totality. And so I'm I'm willing to do these things because I've gone to every other doctor, and nobody could make it right? And I just drink all the drugs that you take are just not good for you. I don't think that does any good. In some ways for some things. But I read the beginning of your tail and I am a guy who has had similar experiences. Not like not to the extent that you have. But I so I I'm a believer in this stuff. But it's got to be a little crazy for you to admit this because I got to believe it does for some people hurt your credibility that you say, you're an actual medium. Can you start with your tail? In fact, I'm going to take a quick mimics. I don't want to interrupt you. We'll take a quick minute here. And then tell us about the first experience that you had with your grandmother when you were I think five. Four years. Yeah. Four years old four years old. It's an incredible story. And we'll just kind of take it from there. Anthony, William the medical medium. What's the name of your new book liver rescue? Yeah. Liver rescue liver rescue. Medium liberal rescue. And I think everybody here in the audience heard him say, reduce the celery juice, Glenn reduce the celery juice back in.

"I was honored to have met this individual so many different times covered his dynastic Yankees. He's now a baseball executive in baseball hall of Famer and on the day after Mariano Rivera and Mike Mussina both going to the hall of fame. But Rivera as the first unanimous selected player, we ought to have one of one of Cooperstown. Finest on the program. Joe, tori? How are you? Joe? Good rich. Thank you for that introduction. I I have to now you now you make me work harder. You know, what I know how to butter up the guest. But but it's it's it's well deserved. Your thoughts on Moby in the first unanimous selected member of the baseball hall of fame is what Joe? Well, not surprised again. There are certain philosophies. I guess on on on behalf of the writers that some, you know, don't feel that anybody should go in on the first ballot. And you know, and then I read something about. You know, closer only pitches one inning and. But you have to realize how important those three outs where I can tell you that. But you know, he he was. For as long as he pitched rich, and I know totals will show you that he really never change the kind of pitcher. He was you know, there are so many pitchers, and especially, you know, relief pitchers who've had to change their style because their stuff was diminished, but Marianne oh. Really never once he discovered that cutter. He just learned to do different things with it. And and he just became a little more of a complete pitcher. But it didn't surprise me really that he was unanimous because it be tough for me to be the one to say, well, let me give me a reason not to put him on the ballot. Right. I mean, you mentioned the three outs being so important when he first started as a reliever it was really six out. You're getting from him on average prior to wetland in seventh and eighth innings of that ninety six season. When you first got to New York is the manager. And he was a kid that had ten starts in the ninety five season. What did you see the first time? You lays on you laid eyes on Mariano Rivera, Joe rich, the first time I saw him was on TV the the year before when he pitched against Seattle in in that final game. I guess it was game five, you know. And where the Yankees lost game five. After being up two games to none. And watched him commanded at bullpen and training game. And he, you know, he looked pretty impressive. You know? Of course, then year two stories about surgery, and you know, we had some issues. So he was in spring training was in ninety six and you know, I'm a I'm a lifelong National League guy and everything was new for me, and we had no options left. So we knew he was on the team. There was some scuttle butt and. You know when Geeta was scuffling all spring. You know, there was some talk about sending him to the minor leagues and making a deal for a shortstop and Marianne, oh was mentioned in that, you know, supposed- deal as so, you know, he was sort of excess baggage at that time, even though you knew he had some kind of value, but who who who have dreamed that he would have, you know, be sitting there and all of fame at this point. Joe you just gave me a little bit of a heart attack. Even though I know the way everything worked out you're saying that there is a possibility of of not start Jeter in ninety six and sending Rivera packing for his replacement. Is that what you're telling me that was possible that that was that's public knowledge. Yeah. Toward the end of spring training. There was a comment from one of Georgia's advisers that Marianne, oh, I mean Derrick may not be ready because you know, he didn't have a particularly good spring. And I'll tell you when the season started. He did there was like somebody just flip the switch, but it got late in the spring. And I was one of the dissenters on that. I said now we've you know, we've had him here all spring and then in in this kid shows up every day and really hasn't done anything wrong. But spring training doesn't really bother me. And you know, there was some conversation and part of the conversation was, you know, we have you know, all these released which we had wetland we had Bob Whitman. You know? And then, of course, Marianna Rivera who we didn't know it was going to be a a closer. You know, we discover that ninety six when as you mentioned earlier, you know, he was the setup mantle wetland. And so he was sort of a player that picture that we didn't know what his role was because you know, his options were used up. So he was obviously going to stay with the team. And there was some talk about, you know, training him for a for mean. I think it was from Seattle. You know? And again, I don't know how close that got to be made. I know it was talked about Joe Torry baseball hall of Famer here on the rich Eisen show. What's your favorite Mariano story when you were in the crucible of a game, or you know, that there was a big series finale coming up that you knew you had to use him or or you use them so much, and he's basically told you he was ready. Gimme gimme something that may be leaps out to your mind here. Joe the day after hidden getting into the hall unanimously the one, you know, Boston was such no eventually caught up with your face. The team nineteen times. I'm not a big fan of scheduling where you just say so many so many one team so many times, and I remember we had this was a game during the season and. Yeah. You know, he had command and. You know, and and Petroleo fouled off felt like one hundred and fifty pitches. You know, he just kept following them off on wall. And it was a one run game. And he winds up walking Pedroia. And now big Papi is the next header. And now there's either first and second or first second and third. I think it was first and second time runs a second base vitamin ninth-inning Fenway park. And I just go out to the mound. And I have no idea what I'm going to say. But I know he just really partially exhausted themselves just trying to get to dry out. So I get out to the mound and everybody comes in like you're gonna listen to some revelation from their manager. And I you know, and and all the other players are in there. And I said I said, well, I guess you better get this guy out left, and but I just wanted to give them a chance to catch his breath. You know, and I look at jeeter. Zoe he always give me some kind of an expression, and you know, he had a little smirk on his face and went back to his position. But that was that was the one that comes to mind for me because it's a helpless feeling when you know, he's going to be the one year leaving the game. And you know, he doesn't need any motivation. But I just thought I gave them a chance to catch his breath. And now his name Joe is synonymous with you know, closing something out whether it's not just baseball or sports or just a life. You know, he's somebody goes into a meeting, you know, and you will get you gotta bring in Rivera. Right. You bring in Rivera to close it out. His name is synonymous with that now. And I'm wondering when did you start realizing that about him with with well, you know, in in that first year, obviously when you know, he pitched those seventh and eighth innings and it felt like you pitched every single day. And you know Zimmer who is my bench coach, we looked at each other. When we come into the game. And you know, you sorta sorry you had to take him out even know wetland did a great. Job us. And so when we started ninety seven, you know, and wetland became a free agent and. In april. We were facing Oakland and Yankee Stadium and he faced the same batter twice in the same game. And you know for a closer. That's not a very good thing to do. So I said to him after the game, I said pal. This is yours may take your while to get used to it. But it took a little adjusting for him. But I d still wound up saving forty games. I think in. You know in ninety seven, but he he was special right from the get-go, and it's just a remarkable story when Mel Stottlemyre, and and he were in the bullpen, and you know. He was just warming up, and he discovered that cutter and cutter came they weren't working anything. No kidding. And and yeah, that's how it hey, just day. What do you think of that? Let's do it again. Let's see and he just had that natural cutter. And that became his lifeline. I mean my gosh. And and you know, I'm I'm appreciative. Do couple minutes left with Joe Torre. Baseball hall of Famer that you mentioned Mel Stottlemyre is named certainly with Mike Mussina going in as well together. With Mariano Rivera. You're coming back from Mel Stottlemyre funeral. I wonder what Mel would have thought to hear about the news of Moby unanimous. And he goes in with Mike Messina, Joe. Well, he would have been very very proud of both of them. Now is a special not only special pitching coach is a special person. You know, he treated guys, what are you won twenty games or just pitched twenty innings like you in the most important pitcher on our staff and. He's you know, he's gonna be missed a very emotional day yesterday. But he's certainly would be very proud of these two guys going in Dan, this boat's name was mowing the ninth. Right. That's what David in the nineteen named as we got him when he retired and Marianna. It was funny because I tried to reach him yesterday in not surprise it went to voicemail, and I sent a text message. And then all of a sudden, I get a phone call. And he had me on speaker with his whole family, which was pretty cool. It was a great experience for me. And he was he was very very excited when we could I said to him. I said the one thing, you know, you're the first unanimous choice there may be others say said, but nobody will ever be the first. So it was quite an accomplishment. It's also the last guy to wear number forty two Joe to that's right. The last guy to win Jackie's where Jackie's number and he's certain Jackie would have been proud. Also, so special it really really is in its special for for me personally, and this show to have you calling the day after like this Joe, I really appreciate it. Anytime. Rich haven't seen you since. We're walking down the street now lay that one. That's right. It's been a while. So let's make sure it doesn't go this long again. I really appreciate that that the chat to time in the memories. Enjoy the Super Bowl that will do that. You gotta you gotta thought on Joe, I know your big football guy. I just you know, Los Angeles. There's such an up and coming team and they got their tastes last year. But the one thing I've always admired about well. Bobby Cox for one and Bill Belichick is the fact that they his teams play every single play of every single game. And it's it's so admirable me is a sports person to to really watch. How they go about their business. Yeah. Do you have a relationship with Bill or give you met him? I I do I in fact, I did his charity and during the playoffs up there in Boston. He's he's been a friend. You know, he's visited our spring training. And I know he's visited LaRussa spring training. He's a big baseball fan, but he's remarkable in his career. And how it stays brand new form all the time. Let's chat again soon. Thanks again for the call travel. Well, okay, rich, you bet here. That's Joe Torre. Baseball hall of Famer. You know, in the same way that I watch a movie like miracle. I I know how it's gonna finish my heart races. When you see those right. Every time, you know, how it finishes. You know, the story. It's it's one of the most told sports stories of all time, your heart just beats like crazy. And I know Marianna Rivera's the first unanimous selected player in the history of the baseball hall of fame and jeeter might be number two next year. And how many championships they wanted together with Joe, Tori? But just hearing Tori, tell me the Mariano Rivera was on the block for Felix firming because. Peter was struggling in spring training and ninety six I got cold sweats. My stomach dry. I'm still I'm still affected by he's like that. That's public knowledge. Maybe in the newspapers in ninety six I have not heard that conversation. My baseball. People said Ken Phelps? It's right. Feel like for me. What would you trade for what? Freaking out. And I knew it worked out. What if? All right. We'll close up shop in a moment. The rich Eisen show. At richeisenshow dot.
