"Then Bradley joins us right now from the WGN newsroom. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Do we hear him correctly today or is it flooding over here again? Now, we got a bit must have been the thunder ice that messed with us yesterday. But now, we're fine. Here we go I really want to hear this. All right. Right here. Yes. Ben. Yes. Please tell us what happened to a Chicago alderman. So this is the story of an alderman, a stolen car, a an ex girlfriend. And now we've learned detectives are investigating whether or not the alderman filed a false police report. Oh boy. So let me take you back to early January. When I ward alderman pro Joe Moreno filed a stolen vehicle report about his black. Audie. And so for the last month or so. Mason's least-favoured outy? But go ahead. Chicago police have been looking for that Audie and low behold a month later earlier this week, they find a beautiful blonde woman driving. They pull her over they arrest her for. Possession of stolen property. I believe it's just a misdemeanor. Roar in jail. And she says, no, no, no, no, no, no. I was allowed to drive this car. And as our Meghan Dwyer stern talking to her. She turned over some text messages, and some photos of herself in the alderman and all the while that the alderman had claimed the car was stolen and police were looking for it. The text messages indicate the two headed very flirtatious relationship. There was even text message from the day before the car was reported stolen. Where the alderman says sure you can borrow my car come on over pick it up and the ultimate told us last night when we confronted him about it. Oh, just a miscommunication. Just a little misunderstanding. I'd wanted my car back and she wasn't. She wasn't. I couldn't get a hold of her. She wasn't responding. And how long had she had the car after the police report after he declared it missing a month. Well, mommy assumed. She had the car the entire time. We don't know that for a fact, but a month lapsed from the time he filed the police report until the police stolen car and pulled her over and there were exchanges about the car. Like don't smoke in it. I mean, he knew she had the car. Well, the the don't smoke. It hit was you know, you can come over and borrow my car, but don't smoke in the exchanges that occurred when he claims that he couldn't get a hold of her those exchanges were more flirtatious in nature things. Like can't wait til this election is over. So we can spend more time together were their concerns about the car later in the text messages that were shared with us. No. We did not see any that. Where the the alderman was saying, hey, give me my car back. It's been too long. But again, she shared with us. Text messages from the time period in which the car was reported stolen in police were looking for it. It would seem to indicate the relationship between the alderman, and this woman was hunky Dory. And in fact, flirtatious he told us. She was his ex girlfriend. But he was clearly according to the text messages we saw looking forward to spending more time with her. He said friend. He said, she's now friend, okay? But he filed a false report is what it looks like appears because if you file, you know, where your car is. And you filed this report saying it stolen, where did what did he think that was gonna leave? Yeah. And let's certainly hope that he didn't take it a step further in and file an insurance claim for a stolen car because that's when you get into some serious legal trouble at this point. This is just kind of silly silliness misdemeanors in an embarrassment for the alderman. Yes. Chicago police confirmed to us this afternoon that they are investigating whether or not he filed a false police report. But you know, even if it's found that he did. Might have thought it was stolen a month ago that she was going to get back, and maybe they made up and then he'd forgotten that he had forgotten father police report, I forgot I called nine one one. Yeah. That's I'd go with that. If I were him, isn't there? Other news about him today. Too. Isn't he sometimes has done some reporting on them over the last couple of days and some questions about whether or not he's been mentioned in all of this FBI investigation that it's near Danny Sali's? Yeah. It's not a great week for Joe pro exactly. Okay. Thank you, Ben. I'll see you on the WGN TBS at four or five six nine and ten more of that at four o'clock. Yeah.
