"Year of the rocket move Football show every morning here on 700. Nobody before we talk about the season and the team in the 2020 campaign Joe Burrows rookie season all of that later this week. Let's talk about the last eight months above and beyond all the covert concerns that every team is having to deal with. I think the word that describes the last eight months would be serene. Yes, they've they've added to the defense they have over all the back seven. They spent a lot of money. But folks were concerned about Joe Burrow not being a bangle. He's a Bengal folks were concerned about franchise tagging a J green. They got that done. Everybody seems to be happy, at least for now, with how that concluded Joe mix and got a contract extension, which sort of meant we didn't have to deal with any lingering issues about his unhappiness or Maybe later this season deciding to not play. I think there's such the stage for now, a season that we could judge Zac Taylor by the results on the field. We'll talk about that a little bit later this week, and it's a pretty good landing spot when you're introducing a rookie quarterback to the NFL. There was no question No this season above all the others have had to deal with so much more distant another football, one roster and business decisions I have to make so Did you point? The fact that the Bangles didn't have to feel the bones of other things that really, really well for new contract disputes there, arguing amongst players? No, no, nothing like that. So, especially with Zach Taylor being come into a second year now starting off, it really does feel like a new regime writing. We draft your brother that was kind of The signature thing that happened with that. But along with starting a new regime, nothing you wanted a bunch of other headaches in the season. Where this close again I haven't been with so many other things. So if that those will I think the excitement level from a man's standpoint is that it's been a long, long time. The only thing to do is win some football games and develop your quarterback and let's hope that happens. With all the talk of apathy and fans bailing and not paying attention late last season. What they've done this off season and look Joe Burrow is the headline but I think the last eight months have have atleast Recreated some degree of interest that wasn't there for a lot of people before the season ended last year. There's no question the biggest thing was done with that was spending the money, not nothing. Sometimes. Finally, especially recently. The fan base like screaming just never spends any money there keep and all that sort of thing in their way they perform can cannot be uttered this year when you spend $160 million Empire defense you, You know, you go to a defense that looks like it really has the ability to stop the run. So that was the first and foremost thing I was done. You spend the money and then you go get the quarterback with the first overall pick. So I think from the beginning for a fan standpoint, not much more. You could ask from the organization. At this point. Now it's going to come down to mow. The big questions can be young and unproven. Coach like Zach Taylor developed these players right into some big name down, guys paid the money. Now we got a development and that's the biggest part of coaches of a coach's job. We'll see if it could happen this year. Yeah, no, it's it's going to be a lot of fun to watch this season unfold Bangles and Chargers from Paul Brown Stadium for 05 on Sunday. "All right, It is time for the training camp report with our man, Tony Pike. And now, Tony, the Bengals had a scrimmage. Yesterday. Give me the good the bad and the ugly from the Bengal scrimmage on Sunday, But let's start with the not to go totally bad. It just wasn't as sharp from Joe borrow as we saw him in the previous scrimmage. Missem throws the receiving corps had some drops. Took a sack in the red Zone, which is something that you don't want to see from your quarterback. But all in all, it's weird, because even when he struggles, I walk away more impressed because how he handles Some of those struggles. He always seems to be able to bounce back. The ugly for me is very simple. A J. Green did not scrimmage. Joe Mixon, not scrimmage. Um, going forward. Look, a J. Green was vocal that he wanted And it was important for him to get out there in a scrimmage, setting to get some reps. He didn't do it Sunday. The scrimmage that was supposed to be Thursday is now going to be more of a mock game. So A J. Green first real action since November, 2018 seems they're going to be against the Chargers and In a day where we see Alvin Kamara, Miss. Um Haven't seen Joe Mix all week. He was at scrimmage. You didn't participate. Just wonderful to Joe Mixon contract situation is going to look like and for the good of the defense defense. One discrimination, but I'm really happy with the linebacking corps right now, Rock We haven't seen live tackling and we won't until the first game. But just physically, there's so much more athletic when you watch him, especially side to side. I'm expecting big things from that line back in Munich, right when I was in there, asking about Logan Wilson, the third round pick this year for the Bangles. What have you seen from him? I haven't seen a ton. But I mean linebacker is always tough. First of all, you're not. You're not tackling in practice. It was hard to stand out as linebacker. Sometimes when you're not tackling, but But what have you seen from him? I kind of got a bunch of men in the whole line back in unit as one Logan Wilson shows the times that he can cover in space when they do drills where you've got a tag off in a one on one situation with running back. I think he's looked great. Take the athleticism shows what he can do, but rock. I mean, this is some job arrow pointed out last night, he said. I want Zack Taylor and I want to be hit. I want what I want to see what that feels like. We can't get a feel of our running game because there's no live tackling. So everything gets blown bed. It's a big ask in the NFL. Now, when you've got three rookies that were driving one of those being Logan Wilson that will not tackle at the NFL level until they're trying to talk tackle off Meckler in space. I just I don't know how it works out for that line back immunity for the defense of the whole. Yeah, I'm with you, I think Look, even even as AH, doing radio, right, you take a couple of days off. It's kind of weird right to get back into it. It's a repetition thing. And while you're playing football playing wide receiver, whatever I agree with you quickly, Tony When it comes to Joe Mixon, do we think it's contract related? Or is it migraines? Man. It's It's hard because you can't come out and say guys lying about migraines. So you have to take him for what his word is. The only difference is we saw him last Monday on the practice field. And we saw on Sunday night. Talking to Zach Taylor talking agent Green, but we didn't see him at all in between on the practice field, so When you're not out there with your team, and there's this contract negotiation looming, you can't help but wonder if it's somehow poor related. Uhm it again. It's it's hard because I think for a lot of reasons you're comparing him to what? What does Alvin Kamara get? What does Dalvin cook it in the market based on what Joe Mixon has done, So if you're Joe Mixon and the league Has made it pretty tough on you to hold out anymore. I mean, we saw it a little bit last. 40 Glenn Concussion Situation Drug on Put it drag on for Joe mix until he finds that contract situation that's kind of what I'm going to wait and see this week with what happens with this thing. Yeah, I hope that's not the case. I hope he gets out there and plays If you play hard, and you show your durable and you have success that the money will follow. I know you grew without to listen, man. Thanks so much. We'll talk soon. "Next thing, you know, it's fourth and thirty for Indianapolis. It's fun to sort of observe all the games taking place at one time. I Lamar Jackson throw to somebody attempt to throw titan Mark Andrews, hit a defender in the back hawk the mar a thrower is still a work in progress. Yes, worker progress is putting it lightly. I mean, he just has to, you know, a lot of time with quarterbacks no matter how good or or, you know, whatever the scouting report says about you. We can't see you at your best until you're comfortable. And when I watch him throw the football when I watch him try to dissect defenses. I don't see a guy who feels comfortable yet. Which is why I think you've. Verse two running a lot because that's the thing that makes them feel the most confident so he asked to become comfortable as a passer, and then we can kind of make the determination of whether or not he has the ability of the thrower right on cue. I see him rush for about eight yards for the Baltimore Ravens him or Josh Allen. Who's been the more impressive runner to you. Because Allen's doing it on non design runs. Lamar. The design stuff. Yeah. I mean, I think they're both impressive. I think Josh Allen is just the one that surprises me more. I didn't expect him to be able to Russia the level. He is because he didn't Lamar Jackson had incredible Russian production. Yeah. We knew it. But not nearly what Lamar Jackson exactly we've got an update here. Coming up. We have an update from the Bengals do we have this. We have the update yet. I'll take it myself Joe mixing the Cincinnati bangles on fourth down plunges into the end zone. Hawk fourteen. Trying to make the case are the Bengals for I don't know maybe saving Marvin job like that. To write technically. But it doesn't look good five eight they are technically in hunt. But it's gonna take a lot of work. I guess like are they playing are. They playing to save Marvin job right now is that is that your interpretation of what's left in this season. It's a very good question. I'll have to take the break to to figure out. Okay. Good enough wants to talk about that later on throughout the show. We continue to see if they can lay it on the Oakland, Raiders, the raiders who've been frisky recently, not so frisky today. The Bengals are like you don't come to our house tried to play our game and win. Instead, you might lose her down fourteen to nothing. We have a ton of actual again nine early games in the NFL not necessarily a ton of marquee matches put me and hawk. We make a marquee for you and coming up next. Cleveland PD Launching Internal Investigation into Handling of Kareem Hunt Case

"But I just feel like it's so shady, it's so shady how TMZ can get this whole thing. The NFL can't the chiefs can't but TMZ pays up. It's. I wanna know. Like on to keep it quiet at the beginning did Kareem hunt half to pay right? And then from there. Did you know TMZ just triple what he paid the Cleveland police? I I wanna know how deep this goes to me. It's a little fishy. Ira fishing, and Amy Trask was on with with fits of Brooks today. And I it's part of what I've been saying on this whole time is do you do you hire? But she said it's kind of hard. Dot com on the podcast, great stuff. But she she was saying to you hire TMZ. Do you hire some type of thing like that? In have resources to go and pay for those. Videos for your investigations, I but see that's the thing is man you want to know. So many things because look you're investigating. You're you're paying up, and I feel like TMZ would end up, you know, almost like extortion. Yes. Yeah. Eight they know exactly how much the NFL's worth information is a commodity for any in especially valuable information. And at the end of the day, what the NFL needs to know is what really happened. And however, look the NFL their financial resources pretty limitless. There is some limit. But to obtain a copy of a video, look, I think they can probably find, you know, between the owners, and whoever the hell is going to be in charge of of facilitating that I think that they can come up with a number of the the bottom line is they need to know what happened in the fact that there was a video of this incident and never mind. How dumb Kareem hunt was for doing something like that knowing that it was all being recorded. But that aside knowing that there is a video available since February and Kareem hunt. Hunt felt empowered enough embolden enough to light his team. He had to have known that. They were having a hard time getting the video or didn't have access to it. I mean, they didn't see the video because if you see the video, you know, right away away like kicked out. I wonder as guard went down a little bit each week. Yeah. Good. Yeah. I'm good. Hanging over his head. Could you imagine knowing that your career your NFL career is just hanging in the balance and the day that the other shoe drops, you're toast? And I mean, it's bad enough that this happened know in any way, shape or form the fact that it happened just a couple of days after Ruben foster that to me is kind of fishy to now all the sudden and we're getting near playoff time in the chiefs are potentially in a position to win the Super Bowl. There was a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes man, this thing just stinks all high. Hell no, it just sucks, and, you know, starting with the domestic violence to the cover up to the, you know, the distribution of the video to the new police cars at the Cleveland police officers are driving and all that stuff. It's it's it's all shady shady. So following an internal review. It was determined that in February a member of the Cleveland division of police provided a report you'll appreciate you trying to do some serious here. You don't mind felt house? Doing it for felony baby. All right now. So I'll start over following an internal review is determined that in February a member of the Cleveland police provided a copy of that police report, including the assault incident at the nine which was the hotel to the National Football League. And of course, they didn't go through the official publics public records request process. Now, if you go through that process, officially then it's known that the NFL is petitioning to get that information. Because I I gotta think look the police reports one thing like if you know, there's video of it. I don't need the police report. And that's the other thing that just begs the question. Okay. There's this video like, yeah. The charges were dropped. Why why were the charges dropped? They don't do anything for misdemeanor. It wasn't. It was not a felon. It was not charges a felony. You should have been. No, okay. Yeah. No. I mean any of that stuff? Should right? No doubt. Whether or not whatever it should be a felony. But it was filed under as a misdemeanor, which they don't do stuff you're going, wait what? Yeah. That's just shadiest number one. The fact that I don't care how hard he kicked. Her didn't kick her. You know what I mean? Like that was a felony the moment that right? She's dazed. She's she's laying on the ground days has has just gotten to the point where she sitting up. She's not even standing it. And he tried to kick her in the face. I mean, whether you connected or not I mean, thank God. He didn't he barely grazed or but not the point. You know, in the fact that she was on the ground is because you knock that dude indoor. And I know that I, you know, I don't know that he did that on purpose. But I guarantee you he didn't care if she got knocked down. Clearly, he was intent on doing her harm, hence the shove and then later kicking her. So let me ask you this this Kareem hunt play in the NFL again. Yes. Yeah. I think so too. I think he's young enough. Yeah. That's why Ray rice didn't play again because he was done. He was already at the end of his career. Well, yeah. And hit what he did on video, right? I feel like a complete ass for even having compare that. You're right though. It's true world. We all we all think the same. But it wasn't as bad. It wasn't even though it is it wasn't what the wasn't as graphic as the one punch layout. Right. And even if you go on the Joe mixing stuff, right? And the other part of it too. Is that was his significant other now again, there's no excuse for this but Kareem hunt, and this gal they weren't like romantically involved. Okay there. There was a disagreement. You know, apparently tossed around my point is the Ray rice stuff. It's almost even more shocking because this is supposed to be somebody that you love and care about still married, right? That's what I'm saying. You're in a partnership to protect the whereas opposed to somebody just being a complete stranger that you had a disagreement with what you can. I think I think there's got to be a lot of answers. A lot of questions answered by Kareem hunt and not verbally by actions right in how. Have you address certain things? How have you gone about counseling? How you know if he's out all next year, then good for him. Yeah. Because then it maybe his message is being passed. You know, you know from from team to team. I just see. He's too young and talented and we've discussed talent over all this crap. Sure. I think it's going to end up being that he's gonna play and the other part of it too is I thought that the Lisa Saulters sit down that was way too soon for me. It was like it was just so, but it's so soon it's so perfect for Lisa Saulters to get it all, of course. But even though they made they went out of their way to say, you heard her in the interview say you requested this interview. So that was Kareem hunt reaching out to them saying how I wanna get a message out. And I felt like it was total damage control one. Oh one. He's just trying to me. Then who was it? Right. Yeah. That's see. That's the thing. Like, no. It's not you. It was you you can say that was out of character for me. That's not a representation of who. I am. But no, my man, there's a connect there because that was you, and that's why you're not employed by the Kansas City Chiefs anymore, and that but see that's the one thing that I feel very comfortable saying that is you that is your character. Under percent, you do that. That's your character. That is that is a part of it from the beginning. You have that in you there? Literally do not have that in me. I know that you're right me. Neither thankfully, but you're right. There's only there's there's the kind of people that will in the kind of people that won't. And so to say that that's not you now my man that is you and I just felt like right now. This was the time for Kareem hunt. Make your statement. Hey, the chiefs were right to do what they did. I was in the wrong. Okay. Cool like and then say, hey, I'm gonna make this right? I know it's going to take a long time. But I will make this right? I'm going to make some changes. If that's what we heard from Kareem hunt. And then we didn't hear from again for six months. I'm cool like, and then don't tell me show me show me the changes that you've made. Hey, I went to counseling I'm volunteering at a shelter. Whatever it is I'm a battered women's shelter. Whatever it is to show us. You understand the severity of it. And it's not all poor me. I lost my job in the NFL. It's poor victim of my heinous assault. And the fact that I don't have a job in the NFL is the right thing because I was way out of line. I felt like he was trying to do some like PR. Reparation campaign, and I just felt like it was so ill time. And when she asked him directly about what happened. He just basically iterative that he didn't matter. What happened? And it's like, no, dude. It absolutely matters. What happened? That's why we're all year right now. Ready for our society right now, they don't even six five. Oh, let's talk about Steph night. Not women beaters fellas. All right. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Like that that right there alone. I it just says we're uncomfortable talking about it. But it needs to be talked about an address. Yeah. And to me the moment, you ignore it. There's so many things that you know, how can how can the NFL do better and get the message across in. And and try to help out. Why think it it obviously starts younger? And if I'm NFL, I'm

"Dalton gel mix in looked joe mixing second most rushing attempts in the nfl since we nine while 65 attempts i've been saying it all week despite the steelers being a style run defense joe mix since volume dictates you have to start him last week play the browns brown's worst outrun d but had a feeling about him he went out there and performed i think you've got to start him and they need to lean on him at home in this game it is going to be in the passing game too so joe mix and i think you can start him he's a must start from me aged green obviously otherwise i'm probably avoiding dalton i'm probably not taking the dice role on kroft myself you gotta you have any other thoughts on that uh you know the only other thought i would have the the you know i'm not quite as confident on mix in i mean you're you should still started because of volume but the the the steelers have been really good against the run all year and then over lau williams last winter two molliems had a good game yeah a lot of that came in the in the passing game and think never mind as going to throw a brandon the fell but now let's move on this subject move on let's talk about something else so by the way crazy stat the steelers of run the ball the second lowest amount of time since weeknight 35 percent that's crazy when you have a great runner yes because they don't use anyone else like you you think all the hand of off all the time no just two one guy but still that don't let anybody else touch as crazy it is crazy all right look this week and i mentioned it before jason nye we're going to be up in new york city for the world series of fantasy finale will be hosting that event and right now it's time for.

"We've seen massive great games from leonard ford had this year which you know matches his college tape all those reasons factor into it i mean when you look it the colts on the season and you say all men they're so bad against the run i agree with you indy you need to be a little bit more realistic about what has happened over the last several weeks because let's just look back you had the cincinnati bengals with joe mix and who is a good running back they don't have the best offensive line but he's good running back yet seventeen carries and indian apples gave up only thirty four yards on those carries you had lamar miller pretty much shutdown you didn't have a a great yards per carry from levy on bell last week dimarco murray was was pretty much shut down so it's one of those things where i think you're gonna start leonard it you are yes you know if if if he shouldn't be tie and then he should be that 11 12 fell cain are i mean he still a good play because of the ball him in but you temper your expectations all right you know who has the second most receptions in the nfl amongst titans oh i don't perked arcane week is it baby hints it's baby baby ends january fifty nine receptions on the year bounceback week last week is he the one pass catcher you can start from indianapolis i don't know that there is one i mean if there is one he is any there that's the one position there the worst against certainly they later naya mad against them the jacksonville jaguars their number one on the season their number one against quarterback a number one against wide receiver.

"Now i'm going with joey in please go enjoy mix lease part of the stars i i'm saying these are starts that i have confidence in and i'm i'm making these starts in the league's i have joe mix and he's been on my bench waiting to see and i think it's time hibernating i has been sleeping he ate a big lunch and he had to be prepared for this game against the browns this is this is the confidence start for joe mix and this is the week where a we you thought you could do it last week but i you could by the way i mean you could style leslie you start where the yeah it will him saying is in style i bo you you weren't sure all all signs in arrows pointed to with a coordinator chains that joe mix in was going to get the ball more but it was i wasn't confident playing him this is the week where i'm only shing joe mixing them with starting roster and actually feel good about it well i i am starting his teammate at the quarterback position and i don't feel good about it because it's hard to read regrets coming back any dalton uh i don't like sierra out loud here if you say it three times he actually appears boileau but i sure like him against cleveland look this is all a game that he can if he throws the ball way over your head i think that this is a game or joe mix in earns him some of them free yards out of the backfield a big play cleveland's been so susceptible they do not put pressure on the quarterback though the third worse in the league on putting pressure and hurries on the quarterback that's been an area of struggle for any don where he feels a guest to get the ball out of his hand too quickly because the offensive line is coming together still this is there you know if they lose this game in cleveland.

"Cincinnati bengals dav gone the first two home games not scored a touchstone first team to do that since a thirty nine eagles and a lot of talk about the office of line not playing well but let me ask you this as an ally and yet backs behind you running they also are splitting carries almost equally in the first genes amongst three backs what's an issue there and a lack of and the offense to side eight is that matter to you as no lime in what back is back their carrying the ball and be how difficult is that four back when they only get six seven carries they can't be the one to get that fifteen sixteen carrying getting a group i think it's more difficult for the backs just because you're constantly trying to see what the defense is giving you now for the offensive line it's more a difference that you're not really gonna notice unless you're really cute in with each guy but we know certain running backs do a better job of taking lime into the blocks taking the down defender to the linebacker and vice versa just by how they pressed forward certain holes my understanding where each play is supposed to hit and i don't know where that understanding is in each guy if i to call it right now joe mix in looks like their best run i think he got the most carries for them he did that night last night and for whatever reason marvin lewis has this affinity for back where he is now willing to just part with them all the way along the way he probably should at this point understanding and seeing the way this team responds with joe mix and i wish they would give him a few more of those shotgun run touches that are going to geo bernard who's they're known scat back a guy coming off an injury but manager seems like an easy place to give wins with joe mix and right now about to shun watson last night the sean i was just happy they took governor off at two minute drive was big for him just because it force them to take to the offense of lime an off the field and get out of that you're basically handcuff max protection that they started most of the.

"If i'm a team that needs a quarterback who else is coming out in the draft that can quarterback and who else is coming out in the following year how how many how many years do i wanna lose before i get a quarterback if i think this guy can help okay now this is a great point the you're right it's got to be really good if he's really good but the problem is this is the strangest of years because there's three kids that are all perceived to be number one towns according okay'd gets what if i think he the number one tell it quarterback guess what there will be more than three teams that meet a quarterback so aced the point he's getting a job there's ten of them the complained the league honestly there's ton of that can really play in the league so there's a bunch of teaming up in this year's no ten of 10 guys that can really play quarterback an area at all the time right now so there's twenty two teams that are really looking for new quarterback there's a sliding scale of justice in national football league if you can play we'll put up with a lot of crap if you can't play we're not gonna put up there it is that's what it comes down to he was ray rice it does he not have a job in this league because of the domestic violence that we saw on television joe mix and has a job he did the same thing right it's it's about your talent level greg hearty come on that due to criminal but you know what if he can rush the pastor he's going to have a jo there's a sliding scale of justice and if your talent outweighs whatever distraction or whatever issue you might have you get to work so there's three quarterbacks in league three quarterbacks cup coming from the draft that happened to be really good okay so he's not number one overall but he's number six.
