"So it's kind of like an inspirational, like you can, you don't have to be this portrait of beauty to be a model. That kind of vibe. And it was okay. And then he goes, all right, Anthony, and can you do one more wrestler like? And I was like, and at the time, I didn't really have a character. I was still in the closet, so there was this imaginary wall up that I couldn't really get my personality out. So I was just this bland blue chip athlete with just nothing else. And I cut the worst. They probably have in the archives. I hope they burn it. The worst promo, probably in the history of wrestling. I think I made fun of bloom's voice. It was brutal. And I think that's what blew it for me back then. It was terrible. And then actually, when I got the email, it was the worst day of my life. I woke up that day. I got the email from them that said, not right now, but keep in touch. And then I went into the city because I was in such a abysmal mood and I blew a casting that I had with Foot Locker and then I came home and then I found out my grandmother passed away, which she was one of the most important people in my life. So it was just kind of like, it was the first day that life kind of kicked me in the balls. And it was also probably one of the biggest days of inspiration that I had because I'm not one to kind of accept negativity too well. I like to spin everything to a positive. And I just, I went crazy, I wanted to do everything I could to get better and one proved them wrong that they made a mistake that they didn't sign me and also to make my grandmother proud. So I started taking acting classes. I did improv classes. I did sketch comedy shows. We started the YouTube channel and grew that. I got an agent and they started doing commercials. I just wanted to do everything I could to kind of get my personality out of that gutter. And it worked. You know, that's great because it's interesting you had called me a few months ago about an acting coach in LA, and I did that in 2000 and 5. I walked away from wrestling for a couple of years. Because I was just burnt out and I wanted to do other stuff. And I did improv and acting class improv with the groundlings. I was going to say groundlings or UCB. Yeah, we groundlings. It was really integral. If you look when I came back in 2008 with suit and tie guy, Jericho and all the stuff since then, it really came from what I learned from improv comedy, which is always commit, and just really drop into it. It's an acting technique as well, but really made a difference for me also. I found that in the YouTube channel helped the most. And one of the YouTube channel helped you so much. Because you're always in front of a camera. And you're talking to nobody but that camera. So you're kind of forced to you have to commit to your situation super awkward because it's just a little phone there. And we have a catalog of hundreds of videos. So I had so much practice just trying to cut down on your take, so you're kind of learning how to get things done very quickly and not have to worry about doing things over and over and over again. Learning how to speak properly and how to enunciate and how to, like, even doing something like this right now, I probably would have had a problem before the YouTube channel because I just couldn't talk freely. I would be so awkward about everything. Because I am outside, like everyone sees me screaming and yelling and yelling the acclaimed arrived and all that stuff. I'm a very loud person on camera, but off camera, I tend to be a little introverted. Yeah, I'm kind of quiet, shy, I'm not very much of a talker from a social perspective. I'm very much the guy hanging on the wall at a party or something like that, maybe until I get like a Long Island ice tea and mirrors. But in that respect, it kind of brought me out of my shell. No, and that's very important. Like you said, to be in front of the camera and learn all that stuff, 'cause I always say wrestling is a lot like show business boot camp. You learn a little bit of every technique about show business. And if you can succeed in this business, you'll do really well in all their aspects because you do have to do a little bit of everything here, you know? You mentioned acting and doing some commercials. Anything we might have seen you in? So I did a commercial for lunchables where I was a luchador. I got beat up by the little animals. That was national. I did. I just did one with Joe. So Joe McHale. Is that monkey? Something monkey shoulder whisky. I did Domino's Pizza, did something for the NFL, optimum online, which is a cable company in the northeast. I did the tough enough commercials when they did the reboot of that. Probably missing a few others. So you got a pretty good resume here of commercials that you've done. Yeah. And you still do that now as well. You said you just did one with Joel McHale? Yeah, that was the most recent one. Now that Michael and I moved to LA, we're trying because you mentioned the acting class recur. Actually, I have to email back. Thank you for reminding me. Marvin Nash from reservoir dogs. The cop gets his ear cut off. Very interesting guy. Yeah, very much. So I want to start kind of diving into more like TV film stuff. I just want to dip my toes and everything because I have a lot of creativity and a lot of different outlets. I want to try and put that creativity into. But pro wrestling is it's.

These encounters in the last one is going to shoehorn in real quick as it's appropriate. I'm having a captain and coke. Because technically i owe a celebrity this drink it and l. d. You know who it is. We went to a wrap party for the soup. Anti-satellite to the ball are having a good time. When suddenly someone turns me he goes. Hey what's your drink. And i say oh captain and coke and i realize it's joel mchale yet from the super from community right. Yeah oh yeah and the drink comes. And i've got my credit card out and job in his mind he's like i got it so at this point like i have to pay for my so to this day. Joe mchale if you're hearing this. I owe you a roman coke and i will deliver on that. That's my story before before l. d. takes the laziness. She's got a ten or fifteen thousand. She has to decide which one she's gonna tell you three lets you guys choose which ones you wanna hear. Would it would invite a difference. When i said we won't politics or sports. Which of my favorite ones do you have stored on here. If i told you that in the sports when it involves me saying someone neck. Oh absolutely i mean to change my pick entire. I'll say that perhaps the thing. I should've mentioned but Oh well webster for next. That's other represent ulima. Ourselves said celebrity necking. So this doesn't none of my. None of my stories involve being naked. One-storey doesn't bog me. Having to use the bathroom. Bad though i will give you guys a choice of three days that i spent with gene simmons who by the way him. Paul stanley have kobe now. So guys'll onto yet bosnian habits. Please please take precaution. Be careful out there. You know if somebody is untouchable gene. Simmons now has go bid you know. How serious is this can be so. Please just be careful out there. Guys where umass boston hands gives vaccine gan all that good stuff so a choices are three days gene simmons. The time i ran into dolly. Pardon the first time. I ever met tim curry or my run. In with angela lansbury arduous. I know ejei lansbury waterbury. Because that's the way you look the worst green. It's the one where. I actually black because jim similar story so so i really quick i 'cause i do really quick i will. I will tell the story. But i feel like you actually kind of kind of nature take point on that. I will tell you guys that there are very few people that have been in the industry for so long. that like filibuster may like meeting. Meet what i met gene simmons. It was awesome because day one. We were shoot. we're shooting. Maybe if you guys overseeing the james franco movie with bryan cranston. It's called why ham we shot. He was onset for three days. And so. I'm in an ugly christmas sweater with gene simmons and the first day he told me dirty nasty horrible tacky jokes day to he was teaching me how to diversify our portfolio and then the third day we're singing christmas carols together so that's a shortened version of g simmons. I post picture of that on our instagram. Because i do love that picture now. You have asked about the angela. Lansbury story angela. Lansbury for those. Who don't know is one of my favorite actresses of all time. I've loved her since. I was a child Tj to can attest at our grandmother was obsessed with murder. She wrote and to this date if it's on tv. I will still watch it angry. I love. I loved her as pots. Choose mrs love it in a sweeney. Todd she is just the crowning glory of all this was that she was the dowager empress in anesthesia and in nineteen ninety seven. That was my first year of college. And that was the movie that i would watch the most along with. Titanic i loved those movies so so so much But angeles very has been kind of ingrained in my entire life and so will was working at this place called the geffen theater and they were having a reading of a play called oscar and the woman in paik player progress. It was a play in progress. So i was like. I've never seen one of these things he was like. I got tickets. He did not tell me that. It was angela lansbury so i walk in and first of all literally two seats down from me was while he was still hold. Alive was vidal sassoon. Who i felt was personally judging my hair the entire time so all's not one hundred people it was about yeah. I think it was literally a ninety nine seat theater. So i watch the stage and it's just a glass of water on a stool another stool and music staff. And i might owe wonder what this place about. And then she walks out. Angela freakin lansbury mice. Skin melted off my bones. I do not know how to handle myself and it was not a happy play at all. It is a child who deals with cancer. It's a child who's dealing with. You know trying to deal with chemotherapy dealing with his anger about having cancer and pushing and god and angela lansbury played every role so she had a voice for every character and she read the stage directions and it was like unbelievable. It was so amazed openly balling by the end of it. Because i cry a lot over stuff like that so anyway because we'll works at the geffen. We actually got to stay for like a little meeting. great now. This is actually back. When i still would imbibe alcohol and they had drink set up for everybody. Open bar whatnot. And so they wanted to do champagne toast so that champagne and at the and then she walked out now at this point i should tell you will never told me that angela lansbury was going to be in the show so he stole my copy of anesthesia. Douglas needlework and halfway through the show he handed to me. Okay so at this point. I'm going to hand the story over to will. Because i think i blacked out not from alcohol but just the sheer magnitude of the lansbury so he i had smuggled the copying full well knowing who the reader was going to be and it's a very intimate setting again. Maybe a hundred people invite only all that stuff. So angela varies just mingling with the crowd. And i said you know. Hey you should get your copy. Signed by engines very instantly. The walls are not building. Way can't do it. And i said she's right there and she was maybe ten feet away at which point l. d. finished her glass of champagne. We'll start here and this one and sort of walked over with me. Basically supporting her angel- ends very turns to l. d. and l. d. hold out with trembling hand or copy of anesthesia and starts to just vomit all sorts of nonsense. La now not physically vomiting word. Vomit i i think i said every word in the english language at one time but the only discernible phrases where the characters angel lands very has played. So was mrs potts blah blah blah murder. She wrote album. Plus sweeney todd. And at this point angela lansbury just takes these hand maintains eye contact just listens and nods and says did you like the play dear l. d. is just losing it and hold out the dvd. At which point angela. Where.

"Yeah absolutely I yeah. I think i think nine hundred five king is my favorite. If we're doing any drafting right now. Nineteen ninety-five is winning so far bonking all the points. Oh absolutely But yeah he. He's got that nobleness about him. And i think it played very well in the nineteen ninety five version because you had the characters being very distinct so you could. You could imagine how they would play off each other. So he didn't come off as so fractious. Because you had the balancing flavors of johnny cage's willa sonya blade right Let's move onto. Johnny cage played by linden ashby. And then we have chris conrad and annihilation. Joe maceio In scorpions avenge. And i don't believe he's in the twenty twenty one vision. No tease of the end of the twenty two and then So how did you feel about the nineteen ninety five. John cage thing care for him because i felt like the story revolved rightly sore on lee. Hang and wanted it to be that so any other character. They always just a bonus ball. If i had to pick a favorite it would be and skopje's revenge. I think that was the best portrayal of johnny cage today. Yeah absolutely and we love. Joe mchale with his. Hi buck crap. Yeah i find in almost all of these films that we've watched. There's always a transfer of one particular character baying the comic relief and unfortunately when you're going with bailey dimension comic relief means one liners and johnny cage. Was that in one thousand nine hundred five like i could have done without him I didn't even find it. Satisfying funny when. He fell with his For design of luggage off the boat when they first get to the island i just. I didn't careful johnny cage. But then i also knew that was the sort of character that he was as well what i did like about it though was at least he could fight so at least he gets. Some sort of credence is somewhere right. Yeah true speaking about credence is. Let's talk about shang song. Play by who you gonna. We have archive footage and annihilation butler in scope and chin-han in the two thousand twenty one version.
