"To election was more than presidential yesterday. Full results from Indiana. Let's get to a Tony Katz 93. W IBC Good morning. Eric Holcomb re elected as governor 57.7% of the vote. 1.471 million votes. Doctor Woody Myers, Democrat with 30% of about 766,000 votes, Donald Rainwater, the libertarian 313,000 votes just under 314,000 votes, 12.3%. First, if if I may. The people who said Oh is it's going to be rain water all the way. You knew your line. Now I don't want to be rude to you. I'm not mad at you. I think this is a stunning, stunning result and one that the libertarians can well. Build upon. It honestly requires that this idea that oh, this anti Holcomb wave That was never really What? Clearly Israel Is that Eric Holcomb Scott feel good about reelection but under performed his internals. And has to note that number that there is a percentage of voters that said, not super happy. And if you wantto understand a little bit better, Todd Okita. Here's your new attorney general. He got 1.5 million votes. 60% of the vote. Todd Rokita outperformed Eric Holcomb. I mean, That's a little bit of the story. It should also be known that the Democrat in that race Jonathan Weinzapfel, 986,000 votes. He outperformed Woody Myers, the Democratic candidate. There's gonna be a lot of soul searching for the Democrats. In Indiana and something that John Greg, the former Democratic candidate, 2012 and 2016 for governor, former radio host here, WNBC said yesterday at the end of the broadcast, WNBC newsroom Just had it going on with Chris Davis. Eric Berman. Abdul Came Shabbas John Greg, covering the election from I think seven to midnight. The Democratic Party in Indiana needs to get its act together. Something that we have been saying, and I have been saying for years. John's OD could be the nicest guy in the world. But his chairman, the Indian Democratic Party, he has never led them to victory ever once ever. Why do they stick with it? Why do they continue to stick with him? He could be a nice guy on I've only met him like, once or twice personally seems lovely enough. Then we were on Fox news together, and that was a bit awkward. I will admit that was a bit I was a bit something. But he can't do this. He cannot get the victory there just in capable. And where do we know this for? Absolutely sure. We know this. In the fifth District, at least right now. Taking a look at that race that Victoria Sparks Christina hail race. They are not done. They are still counting votes 86.9% reporting in Victorious parts with the lead over Democrat Cristina held 184,000 votes to approximately 160,000 votes. So that's 24,000 votes for those a string of home game 51.4% to 44.5%. I looked at this race. And I said, This is a race that is for Kristina. How I'm expecting victorious parts to lose now. There are still precincts that have to come in there is still vote that needs to be counted with the libertarian Kenneth Tucker getting 14,724 votes 4.1%. But if Democrats can't take this race In these conditions with the tight race there is for president With all of the outside money that poured into the fifth District. Well. If that doesn't cause a total change in leadership. Then you know that the Democratic Party of Indiana will never, ever be serious about winning anything. They what we go through some of the list of those who won on the congressional side, Jackie will. Gorski is going back from the second District. Jim Banks Conklin banks going back from the third Jim Baird in the fourth, beating Joe Mackey by over 100,000 votes, Greg Pence. Going back to the house, beating Janine Lake, and that was a very, very strange story in a very, very strange candidate, defeating her by over 110,000 votes. And yes, Andre Carson is going back. To the U. S. House of representatives, defeating Susan Smith, Susan Smith getting 40% of the vote. 73,000 votes to Andre Carson's 108,000 votes. That seems to be a continuing number. That seems to be a continuing spread, and one that if Republicans are serious, and they can start working on, however, The Republican Party has not proven in the state of Indiana that it is serious. About going about winning races. At off, at least in certain areas. Larry Bhushan The congressman. The doctor a winning by over 100,000 votes in the eighth, and Trey Hollingsworth returning to Congress, 210,000 votes, defeating Andy Rough. By just By about was just under 100,000 about 60% of the vote for J. Hollingsworth and 35% for Andy Rough. The libertarian Tanya Mills getting approximately 4.5% of the vote. Libertarians live in that 3 to 4% range, which makes what Donald Rainwater did so absolutely incredible. 12.5% of the vote is huge. The question is Do the libertarians have what it takes to build upon it? Can they actually grow that? Can they focus on who we can move a libertarian message. Now let's choose thes specific places and go move them. You run people everywhere. But let's choose these specific areas that have these specific opportunities and go forward. I don't know. I don't know if they have that level of of drill down. I don't know if they have that level of understanding of where they need to be. I don't have that answer. That all.

"A quick update on some of the races that have been called already. All right. So, of course, Donald Trump winning Indiana. That was the first race called the Night. This is the point in the evening where we would expect Joe Biden to take the lead in the electoral vote. And he has 111 votes for Joe Biden 100 for for Donald Trump at this point with a bunch of states closing their polls at nine o'clock just now, we still have not seen a single swing state anywhere on the map into in two hours of coverage. No swing states have been called. You did just hear from Fox News. One of the swing your Senate races has been called the former governor of Colorado, John Hickenlooper, ousting Senator Cory Gardner. So that's one game for the Democrats. They need to gain three seats, plus the presidency if they were to take control of the Senate, But he swing states have just closed. Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Texas and Wisconsin. No calls there yet. It may be awhile before there are any also, we should note that while Nebraska has been called for President Trump Remember, Nebraska is one of two states that divides its electoral vote by congressional District. There is one electoral votes there that Joe Biden has a decent shot at winning. And so that is not the full electoral tally going in the Republican column just yet. In Indiana. We have called up Five congressional races. At this point, the most recent one Frank James van will be the new congressman from the first district. That is a district that has been Democratic now for 90 years, and it's going to be 92. As's John Greg pointed out in the last hour. He's going to be just the fourth Congressman for that. This is only the fifth congressman for that district in the last 78 years, so a very stable Democratic district and fact Chamber van has expected the winner there. Jackie Dworsky is still trying to nail down victory in the second District. She's expanded her lead since we last discussed it with 53% of the vote. Jim Banks, a winner in the third with 71% Jim Baird, winner in the fourth district at 72%. Greg Pence the winner in the sixth with 75% Bhushan in the eighth with 63% within three races that we're still waiting on. The fifth District, of course, is the Marquis Race of the night. Christina Hail continues to narrowly lead that with 50% of the vote 47% for Victoria spots just getting word in the last 10 minutes or so from Hamilton County. They have 30,000 mail and votes that they were not able to get counted before the polls closed tonight. And so those are going to be counted tomorrow. They're focusing on the election day vote for the rest of the evening. So there's going to be 30,000 votes uncounted there until tomorrow, which makes that unlikely that we'll be able to make a call there tonight. Don't forget. There's also Marion County votes that may not be counted there. But that's the one that we're watching most closely. All right, checking him What's happening across the state with one of our network Indiana affiliates. From W. R E B in Putnam County. I'm Alicia Shame on network Indiana for President Putnam County voted in trumpet 73.86% and Biden at 23.74%. For governor. Holcomb had 56.75% of the votes while Myers took in 17.41 Rainwater, 24.84 u. S representative Jim Bear took 76.92% of the votes and Joe Mackey 23.3 district 24 State Senator Crane took in 76.43 Alba only 23.57 for District 37, Senator. Break a minute. 76, 06 and Wallace at 23. 94 for W. R E B a network INDIANA. I'm Ali says shame. Oh, looks like wrapping this up for Governor Eric Holcomb as the governor for the next four years. Governor again. I will just learning now that we're probably getting a speech That will be a concession speech from Dr Woody Myers, the Democratic candidate coming up at 9 15 and also learning that Donald Rainwater, the libertarian candidate, has finally conceded so looking for some commentary here from a former House speaker John, Greg and Abdul Hakeem Shabaab. Well, sometimes I was interesting in the report. We just heard the young lady for network Indiana. Over in Putnam County done waited water actually beat Dr Willie Liars in. He came in second in the vote, and that's the next over, and Putnam County, which is about 40 minutes west of here. What I would be interested when it's all said and done is obviously Eric Holcomb came in first, but weighted down rain water actually come in second. Where did the libertarian actually beat the Democrat in this particular case so that it will be interesting? You know, there's some counties that are so Republican Franklin Union County over the Cincinnati side of Indiana and those could be areas where you could see him also beat reason. Why know about having read for twice? Joe Donnelly and I It's horrible, horrible for Democrats over there. All right, coming up in just a moment You will hear from Dr Woody Myers. He is scheduled to speak at 9 15 Eso. You will be able to hear what he says about Governor Holcomb. And this.

"I'm not a huge fan of interviews because. You know it's hard to find so many interesting people I'm lucky to have today a good friend. He makes fun of me on Fox and a five because he thinks I laugh at everything which I do the grave greg got fell from the Greg Garfield show the five and everything else Greg, thanks for coming on the show we appreciate it. I just wish everybody could have heard our conversation before this started they don't understand how much you hate doing interviews, and what's interesting is I am totally with you a hundred percent I when I was doing read I I did everything I could to get out of interviewing people. I should come up with a list with the worst people to interview. Generally actors are the worst right because they really want to talk about themselves and not about the project. Should they completely miserable back you people then you musicians who have absolutely no wisdom in the world and other looking for is pods, which is fine with me but. Then you. Petitions, phonies, Yoda, they're the worst. The worst the worst. Then, you have your talk show hosts friends with books were basically you have to do it as a favor, which is like Dan recycling like I don't ever want to do this crap again but the DMV I got to do you and headed he now and it's it's so funny because it's the same I the same problem we need a mutually assured destruction clause like I promise not to ask you to I. Probably Thought that bother you. You don't bother me which bites others book. This is the greatest. Ever for an interview, show this the greatest. I take that back to the worst people interview are authors than about books, and that's why when people ask you, what's it like to be author I have no idea I've just the guy writes books don't even have dishes seriously the greatest promo ever, but this is to God. Have you one because I think what you're in your shows obviously I'm not Greece needed a runaway success. I mean, I think one of the secrets of the Greg Garfield show that people don't know. Is that you actually have more substantial audience than a lot of these liberal talk show host, but it's almost never talked about outside of the trade magazines your audience Lereah haven't been a guest on your show and knowing you now for a while. Now behind the scenes, you really are like when he's guys who breaks the fourth wall down like there's almost no secrets on your show and we do the Senate Greg's not kidding. That's exactly what we were talking about for the show how they're so hard to find interesting people in an interview you know. So, you know what I learned, and it's a good point that you're bringing up. So the reason why the G. Show is good is because none of the we don't have quote celebrities yet everybody there's more interesting tyrus way more interesting than anybody Jimmy Kimmel has cats funnier than anybody Jimmy Fallon has all the guests that we cycle through whether it is you know you or it's Joe mackey or. Whoever He was Ha's last time he was but just great but. But The, but it ends up being smarter and Funnier than any group of celebrities and I think that's why people like it. And also to the point about the fourth wall I talk about stuff that that happens that's embarrassing to me. The fact that I didn't know that cows could be male or female. Y- cows can only be female I I thought that they could be male and female don't. I didn't know that I didn't know that also kingpin remember. Kingpin. got. Up this morning and milk the cow we don't have a cow we. GotTa. Remember that one that may not be the family for we may have to cut down without folks. We're really. But you also thought I also thought that bill was its own animal. That's how stupid like that like I have a problem. That's good. A problem. Well. Listen we are here for your book you've got important business to conduct because my audience loves you I'm a big fan of you as well. So we have this book out here I have a copy the plus self help for people who hate self-help now listen because we're breaking down the fourth wall and Greg can tell you this. Ninety nine out of one hundred hosts will swear they read the book and they got a one page. With questions they ask I promise you I. Actually Read Most of the book I got to about sixty percent of it. Yeah no I did I'm not kidding, Oh, my questions are based on what this is not a pr she data Dan Bongino. Brit knows. So when I see you in person I, want you to put actual work into this. This is no. You impressed. Yeah because I don't most of the time I. Don't do that. I mean I read I don't read box news books as much as I read like other books because they're always like historical. kilmeade books I'll never read his never read is. killed me number one. They are he be kicks asked and you kidding me every time. It. His paperbacks bags are like on. His It's ridiculous and he just walks around the office with a backpack all the time and dude, you could buy and sell us. Why are you here Greg? Seriously you and him? Very few people do as much like you do the five do the gut failed kilmeade the do doesn't stop were like it's ridiculous. You know. All right. So listen here's always you emily and he. Hates, his. Family. I'M GONNA. Ask You about this next book. He'll do so. Up crying here. All. Right. So I hate self-help books too. There's only two I ever read that I thought were really worth their time to road less travel which like a billion people read and then the follow up right. The people of the lie was a great book..

"You've got like going in a in a different direction. Sorry about the phone and also. Also talking about like we're sitting at a rat, the appetite our, which has judge office. We're sitting at a board room. We've got the Cork Board of all the scenes on on note, cards were during that whole process you know, and then Judd would injured and Judah or Barry. We would talk, and we would have all these discussions about like you know what should happen here. What should happen next? Next or we need to find a scene that accomplishes blank and that would be. My newest asylum is a fine way of making this scene. Do this. Find a way of making sure that at the end of this page. He's here that sort of thing you know, make sure. How are we going to get these two people in this room in a believable way? That's going to show this. Just, that's the process. Yeah, and and again geeky question. What did you learn about his outlining process with no carts, because writers sometimes have everything from different colors to depict different emotions are characters, or they sometimes have a minimum or maximum of how how many know cards Dole allow scene or packed act, so yes, I'm getting very Geeky, unnoticed. There is nothing like that. It was just have it was just literally the process of ordering things of just keeping things in order and saying these are the scenes we have What are we going to do with these? And the no cars were just simply showing scenes. It was just that's insane. We're GONNA have to plan. That's that's to be a little, because then your customer for the location and stuff. It wasn't anything that indepth just like we had. All the actors were looking up. Their faces on a board I got to. It's funny. I got to tell someone who did not get. He did not get cast. But fairness the the scene they were looking at him for got cut anyway, it was actually a character that I had written in the hospital that was supposed to be a I just a character. I really wanted us for comedy of just guy obviously trying to get painkillers hospital. I just wanted to have the fun. You know just sort of like one someone clearly bullshit in a nurse and a friend of mine we're looking at different comics and a friend of mine I say Hey I saw your face in my My weekly, like booklet of people were looking at. He was like shocked because he just read for it, and he's not even someone who was like that big and actor so like even though we didn't hire him, it was like I was like Oh. Wow, this is like a big Mike I'm glad that I. Let him know that. His agents were working for him and let him know that Lake. He actually was doing better in the industry thought he was because he wasn't getting hired. But I'm like. No, you're like you're you're someone we're like considering so like. Obviously you're at a level I. mean and I said it was like we're go joe. mackey instead, but I want you to know that you were absolutely considered. That's his name Dan Perlman Funny Guy Good for Dan Perlman I like it I like he'll get in the next appetizer now, so your own personal writing habit for your craft. What would you consider more important when you're sitting down to write a screenplay page the hours of your schedule or as a page count, you're trying to hit per day. How how do you operate on a daily basis just when you're riding Solo? I've never ever. Thought about it that mathematically I've never said. I need to read a certain number pages per day. Pete does that's how Pete Things? Actually how many? How many? People like. No, I just mean that like when we would write, you know Pete would be very driven and be like. Let's come he. He would say like. Let's write ten pages today. And of course I know and but piece always always extremely ambitious. I would be the one to be like. That's a lot of pages in one day. Let's you know. Let's try it because, but it was always assorted. The which is about motivation for him. It was just felt like you know. Let's do this. Let's you know. He was just so into it that he would want to other scripts. We've had whereas it's actually true yet. Pete thinks in terms of pages I think in terms of hours, so how many hours to put in? As many as I have okay. Okay, let me some writers set schedule is really what I'm getting at. Some people are morning, writers versus night riders, or they do a certain amount of and they say that they're done, so you're not that Doug, matic, it sounds like no, no, I mean I just I I like to get things done. I. Find that the process of writing. Is An extremely. Difficult one it I think that if you love writing. If you love it. I question you because I feel like good writing at least with comedy from my perspective, it should hurt. It should feel like it takes a chunk of your soul out of you. That's how much. You should be putting into it like I describe making yourself right when you're not inspired like.

"Continuing coverage of the twenty twenty Indiana primary ninety three W. white BC nine forty four on June second twenty twenty primary nights here in Indiana I'm Chris Davis along with Abdul Hakeem Shahbaz and Eric Berman individual if it serves largely incomplete tonight as was expected because of the large number of absentee and mail in votes are you surprised with how many races did get finished and called not necessarily but won the race that they get called or places where there were a lot of absentee ballots are now but none of the problems that happen particularly here in Marion County up today Warren Diane and Warren are still out well worn should be done relatively soon guy and is still out and just not in yet although it's a conversation we just had a few moments ago with Cindy Kirk offer state Rep and also chairman of American eight Republican Party yeah I was gonna ask you are you surprised at the level of rancor there with the automatic mail out of absentee ballots yes the automatic mail of absentee ballots the fact that it is almost nine forty five and folks are still waiting and polling places to vote is ridiculous and unheard of and there's going to be bombed some of them had to be held accountable for this because this is just uncalled for it's probably good to point out that Marion County is the only county in the state that'd appropriated money for and executed the mail out of ballots to all voters in the county whether they were active or not if I have that correct yes you are correct well whether by voters who were sent out absentee ballots to basically everywhere and only about twenty three twenty five percent actually came back secretary of state Connie Lawson held a press conference along with governor Holcomb during the covert nineteen updates she said that the state would be getting all kinds of hand sanitizer all kinds of wipes they would be getting everything they needed to wipe down all of the voting machines and make it a very sanitary election for people who wanted to vote in person do you see this as one of the primary delays after speaking to some of the guests that we've I had on the program tonight that was some of it but still though there was something wrong from day one and big of me like I said it's gonna be bop so going to be held accountable for what exactly happened what what is the clerk no and one of the clerk noted a reckoning if you will yes all right so you would get the general election coming in that will largely depend the candidates will largely depend on what happens here in the next couple of days so I want to talk about some of the races that have been called so far some of the races that are already in the books and then some of the ones that are important that have not yet been called in that it looks like it might take a few days to actually get those results back yeah all right Eric is it just him most of them have been called at this point at the congressional level there's only four we don't have been the one that's of the most interesting is that first district race that's Pete Visclosky seat in Congress the Democrat is all but assured of victory in November and a very blue district of the lead has narrowed its clearly a two horse race it's Frank Shaver valve against Tom McDermott demerit Hammond armor van still leading that it's down to thirty four twenty eight I think we can safely say that was going to be determined by the mail in ballots especially when you've got up late county which is just huge in terms of the number of voters we're not gonna know that winter for a few days mark lay the leading on the Republican side by about eight points that would too may take a while to resolve the number waiting to see who the challengers are to Jim banks in the third and two very be shot in the eighth everything else is pretty much settled judge Jackie Walorski Jim banks Greg pence Andre Carson all renominated as expected Joe Mackey is your nominee in the in the fourth district against Jim Baird was unopposed tonight and you know you were asking about about races where where we thought we would what were we thought we might not have results tonight I didn't think that we would have results in the fifth district as quickly as we did but both those races have been call just getting up a note a couple of minutes ago from the state Republican chairman congratulating Victoria Spartz on her victory and Christina Hale winning on the democratic side too so but fasten your seat belts that's going to be the most closely watched congressional race in November and also are very expensive race to all on top of that because Democrats actually think they have a chance of winning Republican definitely the seat of they want to hold on to so get ready it's gonna be a bumpy ride well now you've got to another a few months Choteau kind of wait and see how that ramps up finally N. we talked about some of these congressional races tonight what about some of the state representatives some of the people who are running to represent people in the state house in have we had the majority of those called as well tonight we haven't had the majority called but that's only because there's a lot of them were recently don't have any numbers the ones where we do have numbers most of those that have been called there's a better route for that I can see so far that are perhaps unexpectedly closed even he's got ski the state senator from south bend that's actually more Republican districts than you might think but this is the democratic primary were talking about he's got a narrow lead on Alex Bowman that's entirely within St Joe county and that's another word that they will all of these we're gonna have to wait and see what the mail in ballots old but he's got to use a narrow lead up there hi Eric I think we got Victoria sparks on the phone if that would be a one of our winners for tonight let's get our senator hello yes hello Gretchen translations thank you so much thank you I'm very humbled and honored you're under support from my employer is in this industry gets wonderful it's very humbling you had a prominent endorser early on you got a got a lot of help from club for growth I know that was endorsement you're happy to have they call this race for you at about seven thirty well we were all sitting here saying well wait a minute we've got that mail in ballots you got married and have a county at what point did you feel confident you could declare victory tonight well you know I usually until it's over I don't believe it always store I work all those like I'm twenty point behind them until it was declared I don't do stuff like that so I do I do it was officially declared you know I did not declare a and I think it's important to note that you know we yeah they're both from all of the counties but I think it was good to see that I have great results in each county and we will card thank you know I don't pay attention when other people do with the board and what's happening here in the PMR about it very humble and for me and I'm so honored you know I said you know it's kind of a testimony and I'm leaving for that American dream is alive and well senator bog it's a bill here congratulations on your victory tonight question for you what's next how do you win in the general election in a district that's all a little bit more purple little bit more blue than what it used to be well I think it ever so now you have to work hard make your case connect to people and make sure that you can deliver results and what you promised and having a proven record to fight for every Hoosier that I represented in the state found that I'm managed to fight for it with the district and I think we have to have strong leadership we're going through some challenging times but we will get through this and we'll rebuild our economy and will be very strong country so I think they haven't that multi dimensional experience and be able to really this is a very diverse district and be able to have my personal experiences the farm as a model as a business on a state legislator you know I have to talk to people get on the ground and really I've never been chosen by leadership of my party I've always been chosen the right people on the ground and I hopefully land to win it from the ground if you have an unusual personal story then you you have the size this of your opponents tried it to use it in opposition but you've talked about emigrated from the Ukraine about seeing socialism first hand how does that play in November how do you see how do you sell the personal side of the story and how does it tie in with the issues of the be on the table this campaign in a presidential year I think the freedom that our country delivered and protect the people are still the most important thing and you know it and there is some of the you know we can talk a lot of politics and different things that we can see every individual wants to have freedom and choice to pursue their happiness and I think that is so American that the some what is our country is about the only difference you know the American by choice and someone who yeah not having the freedom I would cherish the freedoms and I have put an enormous amount of value and I think a lot of people in my district in our state has an enormous amount of value for our freedom I think freedom is what makes our country is the greatest in the walls and would have to talk about it because we are the greatest country in the world and we're going to be very strong it's important nine fifty four you just heard Victoria Spartz Republican Victorian the fifth congressional district Chris Davis Abdul Hakeem Shahbaz and Eric Berman thank you for tuning into tonight's live election coverage on ninety three W. why BC.
