Supreme Court Sides With High School Football Coach

"I want to talk about the coach who was praying at center field, coach Joe Kennedy. I think it's Joe Kennedy. We got a clip of it. Wrote a clip of Joe Kennedy in the ruling from the Supreme Court. Clip one. I'm going to thank God after every football game. I don't know, I'm going to have a new commitment with God because he's given me a second chance. And I'll never give up my rights and I'll never give up thanking God, but where I do it, the great thing is the court says it doesn't matter where I do it. And that's America for you. All right. Hey guys, I want to confirm, I might be slow to the news here, but just reading some of the coverage this morning, is it news that you're going back? Because I knew you intended to go back if you won the case, but I didn't know it was so quickly wrapped up in settled fact. 'cause you're living in Florida now, right? The weather's good there. You're definitely going back to Washington, the school district has signed off on it. This is a done deal. No, it's not. And that's the part that I'm just waiting for. I'm waiting for the school to either give us a call or however the lawyers negotiated. But I'm expected, you know, a phone call from somebody and we can work all those details out and hopefully I could be on that next fight to back to Bremerton and be on that field and see behind

The SCOTUS Decision Authorizing a Football Coach to Pray on the Field

"But I want to begin by talking about the new decision Kennedy versus Bremerton, in which a coach, Joe Kennedy, had been disciplined by the school, this is Bremerton for praying on the field. Now, he wasn't bleeding a Prairie. He wasn't calling the fans down. He wasn't even assembling the whole team. He was just doing it by himself. But the school decided we can't allow that because it's going to be seen as if we, the school endorse a particular type of religious expression. So the school in a sense was sort of reading the constitution on its own and saying, there's a no establishment clause in the constitution. This no establishment clause appears to create a wall between church and state, we being a public school are part of the state. And so we can endorse any particular religious view. It's not even clear that the school was quote anti religious, a school just thought that it couldn't violate the constitution in this way. And so this goes before the Supreme Court. Now let's remember that in the First Amendment, putting aside for a moment to free speech clause, there are two clauses that deal with religion and they appear to conflict with each other, but they really don't. The reason they don't is because, well, the reason they appear to conflict with each other is because we have a wrong reading of one of the two clauses. And so that puts it in tension with the other one. The first clause is that we are allowed free expression of religion. That can not be curtailed. It can not be blocked by any law or by Congress. The other is that Congress can not pass any law respecting an establishment of religion. That's the phrasing. Respecting an establishment of religion. And I notice that that's really quite different from separation of church and

Supreme Court Says School Coach Can Pray on Field

"And they're gonna get even angrier over the decision involving the praying high school coach. Breaking now on the Mike Gallagher show. This just end more great news. The Supreme Court handed another victory for our side. You know, the former Washington high school football coach who was fired over taking 15 seconds and taking a knee and praying after football games and the issue was whether a public school employee praying alone, not bothering anybody, was engaging in unprotected government speech well, guess what? The Supreme Court has sided with the coach. Joe Kennedy just got a huge victory, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the coach, the Supreme Court ruled that there is no problem under the First Amendment's establishment clause. Man, it has just been a terrible few days. For the radical left, isn't it?

Should We Expect Riots Following SCOTUS Rulings Next Week?

"Wow, so the Supreme Court coming down just a few moments ago with the big ruling. It's not the big ruling and it's not the really big ruling. We're still waiting on decisions about coach Joe Kennedy, our good our good buddy, the football coach who took an eat of prey and got fired as a football coach. We're still waiting on that decision. Also, we're waiting for roe V wade. And I don't know, they're handing out more rulings handing down more rulings tomorrow and then grace next week is it. So they've got to have everything released by next week. And who knows? We will see. I suspect though grace baker, if I'm if I'm a justice on the Supreme Court at this point, I'm probably releasing that on a Friday and I'm out of town. I am getting out of Dodge. See, I get that reasoning, but I'm also like, can they please do it not so close to the weekend because I think people are going to riot and they will riot more on the if it's closer to the weekend when they're not having to work. You know, so you think there really are going to riot. They're going to burn stuff. I think so. I think there will be some violence. Yes. I think I'm prepared. I think they're going to go nuclear. "What happened in Detroit and again another key swing state one just by very small margins, and you get, you know, 10,000 votes here and 5000 votes. There makes a big difference. In the end all of these Democrat hot spots right Rudy Giuliani, he overvote was so high monstrously high in about two thirds. The precinct in the city of Detroit, which means magically, two and three times the number of registered voters turned out to vote. In fact, we have presidents in which two times the number of people who live there, including Children voted. That's absurd. Well, it's a family affair, you know, got to bring this family down on Election day. It's fun. It's like a It's like a hanging down in town. You could bring the whole family bring a picnic. There it is, And it's It's apparently the case that in 70% of the Wayne County precincts, there were issues. With the vote count, including the You know the over county over vote on, and that is one of the many reasons that the Republican Um, you know, the people that have to certify the, uh, the election that they refused to, because there were these anomalies. These curiosities that in about 70% and I heard at one point more than 70% of the precincts. And Wayne County, Detroit, Michigan. That the number of registered voters did not marry up with the number of actual voters. The number of actual voters exceeded the number of registered voters. How can that be quite peculiar? Rudy Giuliani say, Look, it's not like one season Tuesdays. This is a big deal we're talking about. The frustration of this is what I'm describing. He was a massive fraud. It isn't a little teeny one. It doesn't you know, 100 votes which you were there? One of the questions is whether this is how Democrats operate every election season. That's one of the one of the question in these Democrat jurisdictions. This I'm I grew up in Chicago Democrat family, a number of people the family related to the daily machine. And you know Colonel McCormick and the news media, and they all laughed about Mayor Daley. Get your winning the election for John F. Kennedy and the payback he got from old Grandpa Joe Kennedy, the bootlegger gangster criminal that got the fortune for the Kennedy family. You know that left likes to say that behind every great fortune. There's ah great crime on with a lot of Democrats, families. That's true. Certainly the Kennedy family But Joe Kennedy's senior the dad the You Know, the Imperial Wizard of the Kennedy family. He famously said that quote is because they wanted on election day dead before they needed some or walking around money for the Democrats and the unions. In Chicago in West Virginia, and Joe Kennedy famously said, Hey, I'm not paying for a landslide here. I'm not paying for a landslide here on the Kennedy family. They all laugh about that. It's a knee slapper around the campfire where girls are last two trees against their will and things you know Kennedy family parties. All right, so sound bite number, 15 says, You know, listen, this Raises a couple of questions, don't you think? Isn't the logical conclusion that I think any jury would accept as they heard this evidence that somebody had this plan. Maybe that was always the plan to do these things very, very questionable form of voting, which has been criticized by President Carter by Secretary Baker, Like most experts on election reform, True Jimmy Carter report. I think the logical conclusion is this is a common plan a common scheme. Right directly from the Democrat Party, and it comes from the candidate. Clearly, That's the reason why Hillary Clinton said, Don't concede even if you're losing. That's the reason we had a Freudian slip by the candidate, And he said he had the best voter fraud team in the country. That's the reason why he probably didn't have to go on campaign. He had to have known what they were going to do just had to be planned in advance. He did say that he had the best voter fraud team in the world, and it was really good on good news. Media's All that was just his brain doesn't work at all. It doesn't engage yet. Can't Hold him accountable for what he said. He's a Democrat Rudy Giuliani. We let this happen? You know, we used largely event is the whale and voting machine That's caresses to count our vote. Except we let this happen. We're gonna become Venice's well. We cannot let this happen to us. We can not allow these crooks because that's what they are to steal an election from the American people. Oh, that's great Elected Donald Trump. They didn't elect Joe Biden. Joe Biden is in the lead because of the fraudulent ballots, the illegal ballots that were produced and that we're allowed to be used after the election was over. Give us an opportunity to prove it in court, and we will Give us a chance to prove it, and we will and they said, Well, you know, that's wild eyed stuff. You look at The New York Times and how they're talking about Dominion, and they're talking about these voting machines. And when the Democrats were losing, and it was all a big conspiracy, and they've Now they cleansed their memories of all of that On Smartmatic, The New York Times reported on it. PBS reported on it. "Sure. The big election is November but the election day to watch at least in Massachusetts. This year was the Democratic primary on Tuesday night, which saw congressman Joe Kennedy the third. Yes. That same Kennedy family wage rare intraparty challenge to incumbent Senator Ed Markey. At. First it was a race about generational change and considered Kennedy's to lose. But that changed that generational argument was not as potent here as it has been elsewhere like when now congresswoman Ion Presley pulled off her surprise win in a nearby Boston district just two years ago. Marquis touted his left leaning Boniface including his green new deal sponsorship in the Senate and lockdown a coveted endorsement from congresswoman Alexandra Okay Cortes among other progressive groups plus Marquee Social Media Strategy deployed memes and Tiktok helping to recast the seventy four year old Washington veteran as an extremely online figure popular with younger voters in the end. Marquee delivered a blow. Some are calling the end of. The Kennedy Political Dynasty I'm not sure I agree with that. I very much expect Kennedy to remain in public life and likely run for another office. Again down the line after all, he's only thirty nine but Kennedy's loss on Tuesday was a i. a Kennedy has never before lost in election in Massachusetts. Marquee will now face a Republican this November though the seat is still considered safely. Democrat. So, let's get to the point. It's almost a rarity these days an incumbent, actually fending off a younger primary challenger with a potent last name, but Ed Markey did it. And that is the point four September second twenty

Markey fends off Kennedy in Massachusetts Senate primary that divided Democrats

"Joe Kennedy. The third loses Democratic Primary Challenge of Massachusetts Senator Edward Markey. By Steve Leblanc for the Associated Press in Boston. US, Senator Edward Markey of Massachusetts defeated. US Representative Joe Kennedy. The third in Tuesday's hard-fought Democratic primary harnessing support from progressive leaders to overcome a challenge from a younger rival. WHO's a member of America's most famous political family. It was the first time. A Kennedy has lost a race for Congress in Massachusetts Marquis. Appeal to voters in the deeply democratic state by positioning himself as aligned with the liberal wing of the party he teamed up with a leading Progressive New York representative Alexandria Cossio. Cortez on the green new deal climate change initiative, and at one point labeled Kennedy quote a progressive in name only that helped Marquis overcome the enduring power of the Kennedy name in Massachusetts. The thirty nine year old congressman sought to cast the seventy four year old marquis as someone out of touch after spending decades in Congress I in the House before moving to the Senate Kennedy said Tuesday night that the results aren't the ones he'd hoped for but pledged to work for Markey's reelection. The senator is a good man. You never heard me say, otherwise Kennedy told supporters at an outdoor rally. Kennedy also suggested that the movement of supporters the campaign pulled together would continue past the current election. We may have lost the final vote count tonight but we built a coalition that will endure. He said I would do this again with all of you in a heartbeat. It's time to start asking what your country can do for you. Marquis also found himself on the defensive at times during the campaign with Kennedy. Repeatedly trying to portray him as having a tin ear to Racial Equity Concerns Kennedy Faulted Marquis for his initial opposition to the effort to desegregate the Boston public schools beginning in the nineteen seventies marquis countered by noting that he changed his views on the contentious issue that tour at the fabric of the city he also said, he supported the creation in one thousand. The Corona virus ended the way both candidates could reach out to voters severely limiting more traditional means of electioneering like knocking on doors, shaking hands or. Big rallies instead, the campaigns were largely waged on line with virtual rallies, virtual endorsements, virtual fundraisers, and virtual roundtable events to discuss issues. Eventually, as Massachusetts began to suppress the virus and emerge from a near lockdown, the candidates began to take their campaigns on the road with appropriate social distancing rules and face masks in tow. The showdown drew criticism from some Democrats nationally who feared it would siphon time and money away from the primary goals of defeating President, Donald Trump and winning back control of the Senate. It also wasn't cheap with both Kennedy and Markey raising millions to pay for campaign staff television, and digital ads and old school campaign flyers. Keep it right here on W B Z will have further details coming up at 11 o'clock. No, I thank you very much done. Half dawn has a newscast AA, which is? Ah, Just a minute or two away. Ah, Rob, Let me know what Dawn wants to do. In the meantime, let me get right back to AA. My friend Matt in Quincy, who is obviously disappointed at the result tonight. Um, Matt, Um, thank you for holding off. We wanted to get the former lieutenant governor back on the line here. You got the microphone mad? You disappointed. Yeah. No, I just guys 74 years old. Like what? 74 year old Like, What do you do it like retire like no one. You've had your time Go away, and that's just kind of how I feel. You know, I called up and asked and Marquis of our pretty relevant situation. The student loan And he was like, Give me some B s answer. He wasn't even really into the question. It's one of them. Number one mean issues going on in the country and that, you know, the guy couldn't even give me a really, you know, coaching in you. Did you talk to him on this show, as they did on you remember? I asked about the student loan, and you know you surprised about the question. He gave me some stock answer. You know that share about what's going on in Congress and the Senate his entire life and I just put on the fan. Why, at 74 years old You're still doing this? It's it's like, go away, You know? Sorry. I know it sounds really weird. I mean, look, in fairness to his age. Not difficult. I'm sure you're how old are you? 30 humbled you. I'm 34 34. Okay, Um it's difficult for you to understand or appreciate this, But there's a lot of those guys down in the Senate, whether it's Mitch McConnell or Chuck Schumer and others. Who have served into their seventies and and beyond on DH, and they can't relate anything that's going on in this country. Well, I'm not going. I'm not going to argue that point with you. I'm just saying is that he's not the oldest living United States Senator Nora No. When he hits 80 at the end of this term. Hey, I was just I would just say Two people are really short changing because I'm getting a lot of fights with Marquis supporters again. I might. He's a good guy. You know, I'm calling up. There's a little bit of a routine, but I mean People are short selling Kennedy say. Oh, he's just a legacy guy. He's using his parents agree with you, but I mean, that's a spin in the faith. You know that great. Spend a couple of years in the Dominican Republic, a peace corps volunteer Harvard Stanford Law School, you know, worked as a prosecutor. Yeah, he's no wait. What? 40 words like you know, 48 million. He doesn't have to be doing this because he cares. You know he doesn't do it because he has all of friends getting jobs and government. You know that you took your pound of flesh tonight. I understand your feeling, but it and I appreciate you taking the time. Calling my friend and just keep calling this program. Okay? Sometimes I hope he runs for something else. I really I suspect I wouldn't be a bit surprised, and and we will see. Thanks, Matt. We're now joined by The the Republican who will now have the honor and the opportunity to run against Ed Markey. Kevin O'Connor, who is the Republican nominee. Kevin Welcome. Tonight's I. Congratulations on your victory in the Republican Senate primary tonight. Thank you, Dan. So my question is this How do you How do you run a campaign as a Republican in Massachusetts against an incumbent Democrat who just be the Kennedy On his his failure. Toa the president states for the last six years, which Congressman Canady very effectively pointed out. He focused on his voting record, which is quite extreme. He has identified himself as the party of being from the party of AOC, not JFK. I think most people in Massachusetts will reject that vision, so bad attendants and bad voting. Uh, and bad leanings, I think. Well, um, rendered him quite vulnerable, and I'm quite confident with the witness. Well, one thing that I was surprised at was he took the John Kennedy inaugural address. Quote, Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country and he turned it on his head. Um and said, you know, we did that we did do for our country. But now respectfully. It's time for us to ask what our country can do for you. Um, I think that there are still people. Who who will respond to that clarion call of President Kennedy in 1961 and I think that you may have you may have an argument that a lot of Democrats might be willing to listen to. Absolutely. For all those Kennedy Democrats out there who believe that shit. I asked what we should do for our country. First and foremost, we have a candidate for you. It's Kevin O'Connor. I'll be your fighter. Well given appreciate it again. I know that the Republican primary did not receive a great deal of publicity, but we will look forward to having you on the show and give you an opportunity, Tio. Spend an hour at some point and take phone calls and answer questions. And for us to learn to learn more about you. You you? This is your first run for public office if I recall correctly Right. And what motivated you to most people jump in, and they run for school Committee or City Council or state representative? Maybe you're going right by that What would vary to this race? On the father of four boys stand and I worry about our country and I don't want my kids growing up under the policies that Ed Markey is advocating. So the best way to bring about change is to step forward and make it happen..

Boston - Ed Markey faces Joe Kennedy in Massachusetts primary

"Day voting underway for hours now Congressman Joe Kennedy looking to unseat long time incumbent Democrat Senator Ed Markey, and a highly watched race, BBC's Karen Regal is with a Kennedy campaign and joins me now live, Karen, I think, How did we watch may be an understatement, Laurie. I mean, I saw this race on CBS this morning. I saw it on the Today show. I'm seeing it on the evening news on CNN and I started in person this morning at the Nelson School outside Worcester. Because all those national networks will not decide this race. The voters here will and you've got Kennedy supporters standing up. The required distance away from the polling place and you've got, you know a slow but steady flow of voters making their way into the Nelson School here in Worcester, where Joe Kennedy was outside asking for their vote. I mean, the polls fluctuated shows that Marquis a headbutt! In the end, it appears to be a fairly tight race. It's a weird thing. Older voters I've talked to here seem to be leaning towards Kennedy. They say they trust the Kennedy family. Younger voters are saying it's They like Ed Markey's progressive politics, So they're sticking to it. The older guy who's been in office for quite a long time. Joe Kennedy is saying he's optimistic. Joe Kennedy is saying he's looking forward to this evening. Joe Kennedy says he's exhausted, but Joe can be also telling me He is confident about the results heading toward the end of this race. I asked him if he could change one thing over the course of the year since he declared, what would it be, he said, But quite frankly, he'd get rid of this pandemic so that everybody would be well and he could. A campaign like a Campaigner should reporting from Worcester. Karen Regal W B, The Boston News radio. All right,

Five current members of Congress only 25 are mothers of school age Children. If we had 100 or 200, Mom's in Congress, I think we could make progress on all of the issues that we care about whether it's standing up to the NRA, whether it's taking on big oil and whether it is taking on big pharma and quality, affordable child care. A Kennedy is on the ballot in Massachusetts. Here's why he's not guaranteed a victory.

"And out front up next we're. Just. From one of the most closely watched primaries this year a young Kennedy on the ballot in Massachusetts but can he unseat a seventy four year old incumbent? Because it's about ideas I am the youngest guy. In. This race. Tonight and the fight for twenty twenty a usual dynamic emerging Massachusetts ahead of tomorrow's Democratic Senate primary. The incumbent in his seventies was support from progressives, his challenger young and Kennedy Manu. Raju is out front. The Hiroshima Political Dynasty the grandson of the leap Robert F Kennedy campaigning to serve in the Senate like his famous great uncles and grandfather before him the. Certainly. I think you're doing great job. Hello. The candidate he's right there. For Life Magazine. Thirty nine year old Joe. Kennedy is facing something unexpected. Seventy four year old senator who has been in Congress for almost forty four years. Has Managed to galvanize support of young voters. Ahead of Tuesday's Massachusetts Senate primary I think that a lot of young people that are our age at least. From from our town have been similarly really inspired by Ed Markey polls show Senator Ed Markey as the favourite threatening to make the four term. The first Kennedy to lose a race in Massachusetts unlike other primaries this year were democratic incumbents have been ousted by liberal newcomers. Marquis has managed to turn that dynamic on its head because it's about ideas. I am the youngest guy. In this race Alexandria, it's been murky seizing the mantle of the insurgent, touting his support of liberal causes at the green new deal and endorsement of the progressive firebrand. Alexandria Cossio Cortes such the green new deal that I introduced Alexandria Cossio. Healthcare justice is on the ballot. That's Medicare for all that I next the Bernie. Sanders. When he introduced it yet, it's been Kennedy with the badging of the party establishment leader Speaker Nancy Pelosi Allies have been frustrated that marquee has not been held to account for full record over four decades like his backing of the Iraq war in two thousand and two the NAFTA deal in one, thousand, nine, hundred, ninety, three, his position on racial issues like school desegregation dating back to the nineteen seventies progressive willing to look those hurdles that's up to a progressive movement. Out. I think an awful lot of folks in many parts of Massachusetts have a different view of that records and what that means to our communities after going door to door in working class Boston neighbors weekend. Kennedy. Accused Marquis of abandoning the state. He's been less time in the state than anybody else delegation in an interview with CNN Marquis fired back there is. No real record of Congressman Kennedy in his eight years leading on issues of of generational change in Washington Kennedy has waited until late in the campaign to stress that it's his family I. Guess It's a fighting. His blood wants to continue in the Senate tried to be really clear that it's GonNa Balance It's not my father, my grandfather brothers or anybody else and. You vote for me you're going to get now Kennedy does pull off an upset on Tuesday night it could be thanks in part to the fact that he is allies have spent more on television advertising than Markey and his allies roughly two million dollars more. But if he loses what Kennedy will do next still an open question we posed that question to him he didn't want to entertain it and said, he looks forward to running through the finish line and celebrating on Tuesday night.

"With the kennedy family and we had heard the joe kennedy oldest brother of jfk had died in world war two but it was always under sort of mysterious circumstances that we heard about it and he was he was a he was a war hero but we had no idea what happened a we know the jfk was a pt one oh nine captain captain in was very famous but you really tell us the story a really very very interesting story of joe kennedy in what happened to him yeah ended up peachy one oh nine incident you're talking about who's really the key to this story in some ways in that jack became a big war hero because of that very famous there were magazine profiles about him in joe jr was extremely jealous of jack for that he'd always bested jack in sports in school all those sorts of things and he couldn't stand stand it that his little brother is getting more attention so we ended up volunteering for a series of homeless ridiculously dangerous missions tried out do jack in one of them the one i kind of focus on the book involved these mysterious areas concrete bunkers in northern france so we were monitoring these things they were gigantic the size of several football fields extremely well reinforced and there were rumors going around that hitler was going to use them is launch pad basically just start lobbing atomic weapons at london to try to destroy in london and they tried the bond the heck out of these bunkers nothing seemed to work they couldn't crack them so what they decided to do what they decided to take a gigantic plane they decided to strip out everything inside at that they possibly could and affiliate backup with napalm or another explosive never gonna fly this across the channel from england in france and they were basically gonna ran this right down the front door of these bunkers this is gonna be the biggest bomb in history an this is going to be the kita wiping out what they thought were atomic bunkers there and they did have enough technology enough crude technology where they could fly the plane like a drone across the channel without a pilot what they didn't have any way to get the plane off the ground in a remote way they needed a pilot to do that in joe volunteered to be one of those pilots did get this plane filled with napalm off the ground just set up the remote control in their get it pointed toward france and then ideally eject out of it and he volunteered to be one of those people and ultimately the plane ended up exploding while he was still inside it and that's why he ended up dying man is quite a story that's quite a story and it's really heartbreaking just here and see what drove that kind of the jealousy between the brothers and just see a how this life ended so so young and kind of kicked off the famous kennedy curse that a were dealing with for so long in the sixty seventies and in some ways even after that there's so many different elements about the war that you have tied together you you talk about the bunkers being built to launch an atomic bomb coming among the backdrop as you talk about about the launching of v one in v two missiles on england knowing they had the capability of building these rockets that made it believable that they could do something like that it did yeah and his seeing these rockets rain down in knowing how good germany was with missile technology and then knowing that banner heisenberg just brilliant scientists is also working on atomic research it all really seemed to fit together ander the rockets were one of the big fears on that they were kind of tying into this whole a fear of uranium in the nazi atomic bomb how am i replied oh this is science friday from w in y c studios for talking with sam keen latest book is the bastard brigades it really is riveting wartime drama about the nazis plan to develop the atom bomb and they allies race to stop them by any means possible in in have you had any calls from hollywood yet about i mean i i've got saying there there hasn't been a movie that really captures all that you have captured about this afternoon that was the fun part about writing the book was kind of tying all these things together there were always hints out there you know documents.

"Welcome back to pools bears a little bit of Sifford Ed side, nothing screams wealth intelligence, like a little Sanford and son, absolutely. Always a good time. Here. Don't forget the head over to Facebook like us at bulls and bears radio. And of course, follow us on Instagram at bulls and bears radio champ talking about a little bit of everything. But one of the things that we love to talk about here on bulls and bears is simply this that the market goes up. The market goes down a lot of times people have questions. I mean, you meet people I meet people all over town. People always ask us. They don't understand how someone can make money in downward move in the market. They don't understand shorting. They had something to do at time. Let's take a moment. Let's talk about short selling how can someone capitalize in downward move. Well, if we look historically most successful traders investors have always been able to make money when price went up or down. In fact, the best traders make money, even when the market goes sideways price go sideways because they're able to utilize different assets to profit from what the call arrange Bhandara channel market. So. So market direction should not matter to your profitability and for most of your driving down the road right now. Listen to us on the radio, you're thinking, well when the market goes up. That's good. When the market was down. That's bad. Well, the problem is is that you're never probably going to reach your financial goals or get any kind of consistency long-term until you understand how to profit regardless of market direction. So if the best traders investors have learned it, maybe you should learn it not want to give you some examples. I mean, we talk about Warren Buffett. We talk about Paul Tudor Jones is one of the most successful. Traders of our generation, they're all -ccomplish shortsellers. They make money regardless of direction. Fact, Joe Kennedy, the father of John and Bobby and Ted Kennedy the legendary Kennedy clan. He literally made the bulk of his money short-selling the collapse of the market in nineteen twenty nine the great depression, the stock market collapse market fell eighty five percent, and Joe Kennedy had three million bucks that he'd made predominantly bootlegging alcohol during prohibition that's how he built his nestegg did bring into the market. Yeah. Exactly, man. You know what? And then he parlayed that that three million went short the market and over the next eight years, the S and P fell eighty five percents and Joe Kennedy took three million dollars and turned into one hundred eighty million shorting making money as the market collapse. So folks understand something when the market goes up. That's good when the Marco's down. That's good. That goes against what you believe most of you because you've been trained in program to think that up is good down as bad enough. Live Wall Street. The reality is up is good down as good. And that's simply the problem champ. Because a lot of people they just can't get their mind wrapped around that. And the reason why is because their 4._0._1._K's their IRA's. They're in positions that only make money in an upmarket. They don't realize that the money has to go somewhere. Some people just can't get over that the concept that when they lose money that went somewhere. They just think it disappears. Right. It's not, you know, they call two thousand eight the collapse of the they call it the largest transfer of wealth in the history of the financial markets you folks transfer which means if it left Europe. Count of your phone k- lost the money went somewhere. It went to somebody who was short. It went to somebody who's profiting on the move down in price. And so we talk about shorting short-selling. There's a lot of variety aways, you can make money when price falls, but one of the best ways in most cleanest ways is to shorting. I'm gonna give an example. Let's take Carnival Cruise lines. Everybody understands carnival. You see ads on TV maybe taken a Carnival Cruise somewhere that stock about six weeks ago was trading just under sixty bucks a share right around fifty eight fifty nine bucks share. And as of the end of this week. It's around fifty. So it fell about nine bucks. A share in six weeks to realize folks, you could profit from that see somebody who owns carnival stock. They lost nine bucks a share because they owned it. If it's at fifty well, if they lost the money went to somebody went to somebody who's shorted the position who made money when price fell. Here's an example, what we could've done around Carnival Cruise to profit from that move down. Let's say six weeks ago in the stock was at fifty eight bucks a share you decided to sell it. Now, here's the key thing. Adam and people don't understand. This disconnect happens. In people's mind. We talk about shorting you're selling the stock even though you don't own it. People say how can I sell if I don't own it? You're brokers allowing you to use their shares to sell into the market at fifty eight bucks share. So in other words, they're loaning. You the shares they have an inventory of the stock, and they're allow you to sell it into the market at fifty bucks a share even though you don't own it. Now, here's the key. Because you sold the stock to get into the position you have to buy it back later and ultimately replaced the stock back to your broker now. Here's the goal you're gonna buy it back fifty. So here's what we could've done six weeks ago. He have gone to the market sold. One hundred shares at fifty eight bucks a share. That means fifty eight hundred dollars would have come into our count known. Stan something folks when you sell something short. In other words, you using your broker's inventory to sell into the market because you think prices about to fall you can't use that money. You just took in when you sold the shares to go buy something else you have to hold it in your account because you have to buy the shares of the stock back in this case carnival so six weeks ago. You went to the. You hit the short sale, but on your platform. One hundred shares sold into the market at fifty eight bucks. A share you brought in fifty eight hundred bucks in your account hundred shares fifty eight bucks share that money's held in your account because you're now short the stock to buy the shares back. But now we fast forward to this week stocks at fifty you buy it back. So when you buy it back by those hundred as back it costs, you fifty bucks share that's five grand. So he took in fifty eight hundred when we sold it. We bought it back the five grand the moment, we buy those shares back we call that cover your short because you sold the shares to enter the position to close the trade you're going to buy it back. You're buying it back in a lower price. And when you do that, the shares instantly go right back broke his warehouse. They get their shares back there made whole with the product that they gave you to sell in the beginning. You get to keep the eight hundred bucks. Think about that. He just made.
