"I'm not losing one bit of sleep going into this game. Obviously, you watch him on film, but he's playing over the guard, so you don't see it all that much. I'm more focused on Robert Quinn who at the time was a really good pass rusher that I was planning. And so we go into that game and we were running power, which is like America's play, right? Away, the backside guard pulls, you got a fullback that leads through and the fullback, the backside guard, have two of the linebackers. The defense, the offensive line, gets a double team at the point of attack. And then on the back side, the center in the tackle work together, where I step down and I'll help on the defensive tackle at the time Aaron Donald until the center can snap the ball and then work back and he takes over my block on Aaron Donald the defensive tackle. And then I do a hinge, which kind of just means I open my shoulders to the defense event and then just wall them off because we're on the back side of the place. So it's not a big deal, but that's like super routine. I've been doing that since I was a freshman in college. I was 18 at Wisconsin and Madison. Never been beat on that in my entire life. It's impossible. You can't slip between me and the center. And the center was Alex Mack, who was also an opera. And Aaron Donald literally like from the ball was snapped, he got in Joel's hip pocket. And it was like a Houdini move. We're both Alex and I crashed down to try to pin him. And he got underneath us and in between us and ran into the backfield and tackled the running back almost at the same time he was getting handed the ball. And that was the moment where I was like, oh my God, this guy is not human. He is built from another planet because he just beat an all pro center and an outdoor left tackle on a double team on the most routine, easy block in the world. And at that point, I knew this dude was going to be a bad motherfucker. Yeah, and he definitely is that now. I mean, he thought he was going to try to kill that guy from Green Day this year. And apparently it was not. Did he have that nastiness, then, when he was playing with you guys, was he talking at all? Because I know when he always feels like with Donald, once you mess with him, then it's on. I don't think he's starts the game at ten with you. So from an effort level he does, but he doesn't. No, no, no. We always say you never want to tug on Superman's cape. And that was the truest thing you could say about Aaron Donald, because he was always given great effort, right? But there was an extra level of hatred that he would bring out. If you did something to him that he didn't like, so you were very careful not to block him longer than the whistle. You were very careful not to cut him on too far on the side where he would get a little upset and feel like that was a dirty play because the last thing he wanted to do was give Aaron Donald a little extra motivation to try to kill you because if you do, you will die. Like there is nobody on the face of the earth that Aaron Donald could not kick their ass, especially in between the tackle boxes. Yeah, man. You're not the first to say it. All right, as an AFC north alum, the overall Cincinnati view of what this team we talked about the old line here a little bit. We know it's burrow and chase and Zack Taylor turning this thing around. Obviously with burrow being a big reason. But you know it's odd. It's a ten and 17 that everybody kind of loves now. We know they have their problems, but how do you see it as a team? You probably played it a little more attention to. Yeah. Yeah, I'm like a closet Cincinnati Bengals bandwagon fan. And I think you're right. They've got the underdog story that everybody loves. Everybody's just so attached to Joe cool borough and the way he's playing the way he's got the ice water in his veins at the end of games and he's just finding ways to win. But then also his mentality his leadership, I think, he's just one of those natural leaders where people are drawn to him. People like him, people want to play for him. And at this point, when you get these teams into the Super Bowl that are both hot, they both have great quarterback play. It's anybody's game. I mean, you can always throw the spread out in my opinion. Because it's just going to come down to those three or four plays and typically it's made by quarterbacks, right? And when you have Joe burrow, you're feeling pretty good about being able to make those plays down the stretch, especially for him coming off of an enormous confidence boosting game against Patrick Mahomes who people were already ready to give the Super Bowl trophy too after they beat the bills. And to have that huge deficit in the beginning of the game, come all the way back and beat him like for Joe burrow as if his confidence couldn't have been any higher and his team couldn't have believed in him anymore to kind of do that, just adds to the fairytale and adds to their feeling of invincibility. I want to ask you about a few other things too and there's always the mandatory baker question probably at the end at some point here. But this Brian Flores stories huge lawsuit now against the NFL, the text message from Bill Belichick. And I wanted to kind of start this way. We know it's a huge problem. When I look at what the NBA has done with the progress that they've made with head coaching hires. And then see where the NFL is that. Anybody that's denying that this is an issue. Your head's in the sand, okay? But how did you talk about this with teammates? How did you talk about it with coordinators, black coordinators? What was the understanding of living in the world and trying to understand how this hasn't gotten better? Obviously being a white male from suburban, Wisconsin, like I don't have the same experiences that Brian Flores or any of the black coaches do. And so when situations like this would come up when I was playing or now that I'm in the media world and just listening to this story unfold, the first thing I always try to do is put myself in their shoes to try to gain empathy for their situation because I think that empathy can build and understanding. And for me, I heard the Brian Flores stuff this morning and my wife and I, we started talking about it. And I started crying because I'm thinking about the situation that he was in. First of all, it was a total bullshit that he got fired in Miami. He did a masterful job and by all accounts, the reason that he got fired was because to a tongue of violet was the quarterback instead of Justin Herbert. And last I checked they had a GM who was responsible for that role. And so to hire a defensive minded head coach to be like sort of that CEO and then to fire him after it seems like everybody on that team believed in him and he was making all the right decisions. He was as classy as they came. They finished with an incredibly hot winning streak, finding a way to win with a quarterback that maybe didn't have the upper ceiling that a lot of these guys in the NFL have. And then to get fired, I mean, it's already a BS situation. And then you hear as he's thinking to his family, like, hey guys, I'm going to get a second chance..

"Man. It's it's just powerful than you wanna move on but you don't want to forget and it's a it's a it's a powerful. It's a painful reminder and the number of children who were young when their fathers died and they went into you know they wanted to be a firefighter after that even know they lost their dad. They wanted to be firefighters but Sixty minutes the entire hour is about that with nine. Eleven and scott pelley did a wonderful job with the interviews. He hosted everything phone calls coming up. Best and worst of the weekend job in north carolina hijo. What's on your mind today. All right is Want to see what you thought about That's the worst of russell wilson. One in twelve thirteen on the east coast and another best was joe. Tori and Bobby valentines first pitch at the yankees. Mets games yeah. We had joe torry on friday. I thought he was wonderful because he talked about nine eleven and just the yankees went to an area where families would gather and waiting to find out if their loved ones. Were still alive. And joe said you know you wanted to help but you thought that you were kind of intruding. And then he said then we had families that just came up and said you know had pictures of of their loved ones that they are waiting to find out. They were still alive at yankee. Hats shirts sweatshirts jerseys and they said that we knew that we could at least help. But i thought. Joe if you miss any interviews on the program you know go to dan. Patrick dot com. That's one of those. I would say listen to it. Because it's twenty years after the fact and you can still hear joe tories voice. Of what role do you play. And you know that night. When then president bush went out there and threw the first pitch and the fact that there was an umpire out there during the first pitch who is a member of the secret service but he's dressed as an umpire and i'd never heard that but i thought joe and bobby valentine thrown out the first pitch is as the Yankees and mets played over the weekend. A mclovin update the poll results. Are we gonna stay with that for the final hour. Why we switched up to. What was the most surprising. Win the flip side of the most disappointing loss. I'm not going to get too excited but you know you. Didn't you want a game. you're going to win. You're going to win a couple of these games. I don't know if you really want to. But the deshaun watson story to me is waiting to be told here because now they're keeping him away from the team and then he's a healthy scratch and crazy. Ample is a horrible win for the texas. "Trying to make plays with his feet when you have that. College coach successful coach goes into the nfl urban meyer. What's the what's the wrong things for that college coach to do once against two an nfl locker room. The one wrong thing. I think we're seeing a lot of the wrong things. A lot of the difficulties from urban. Honestly i think the hardest thing for urban meyer is that he had no. Nfl experience and so the hardest thing then is hiring your staff and there were some whispers coming out this week already. That there was a lot of friction between the guys that he brought in from college that he was comfortable with that. He had a relationship with but he wasn't going to have to teach every single thing that he wanted to those guys and the guys that he brought in that had the nfl experience because it is a different culture in the nfl and college. There is a lot of different concepts and schemes. And how you want to run your practice. How you need to treat your players like a little bit more. Like professionals like men to get the most out of them and so i think the learning curve is already really steep when you're a coach that's met most of the time in college and you make that transition to the pro game. We've seen it so many times but it's even worse when you have no nfl experience because typically you're putting together a staff that has half the guys that are like your guys and then half the guys that are nfl guys that you don't really know that have been recommended for you that you've hired Without really having any relationship with and there's gonna be a lot of friction there there's going to be friction between the guys that were college coaches. That are trying to coach. The nfl players like they're still in college where it's more about trying to motivate them in a lot of different ways to get them to play hard whereas in the nfl out of those guys are self motivated and they're motivated by money. They're motivated by feeding their family. That are motivated because it could get cut at any moment. And so. I think it's a lot more about teaching at the nfl. Game and versus in colleges about motivating and developing and just teaching the values in the fundamentals of football artwork toughness bid on time. That doesn't really flies much in the nfl. You can see joe thomas. Nfl networks nfl. Game day kickoff. Thursday at six eastern ahead of the giants washington game on thursday night football. Do you think ron rivera brings cam newton. That's a great question. I i didn't hear what the injury situation to the big beard. Man is i. I know you heard his hip. But i'm not sure how long he's out. I still like fitzpatrick with that team. That defense is so good. I thought i'd keep played pretty well yesterday. at this point it's difficult to bring a quarterback have them learning entire offense and get on the same page with your pass catchers in less. You're going to bring in cameron. Say use your legs. We want you to scramble. Kinda change. You offense a little bit words more. Rpo type stuff quarterback power. Doing some of the things that he did new england. Then maybe you think about it. But i think if they're going to keep the same offense and continue to just try to throw the football then. I don't think it's a great fit good to talk to us always joe. We'll be watching on thursday night. Thank abutting awesome. Thanks dan that's joe thomas. Nfl network analyst former browns all pro offensive tackle and will end up in kenton in the hall of fame. Let's go around the room. Best in worse to the weekend. I'll start with fritzy todd. Best and worst of the weekend best of the weekend eighteen year old qualifier. Emma radha kanu wanna make sure. I pronounced that right wins the. Us open didn't lose even one set along the way and my nineteen year old layla. Fernanda showed great maturity and poise throughout the way they handle the media and the fans thought. That was pretty awesome worse than weekend. I'm giving it to western carolina and alabama state while you ask the catamounts lose to the sooners seventy-six. Nothing the hornets to auburn. Sixty two nothing. So if you're going to do the math at home one hundred thirty eight. Two zero combined come on now. They got a nice pay day to be humiliated in such fashion. Nobody watched more tennis from the women's side of the draw. Then fritzy did at the uso enthusiast Yes yeah yeah. of course. you didn't watch the men but boy did you watch the women's side of the draw great interviews and class. Yes all the way through teenagers to handle themselves like that very impressed. Thank you todd mclovin. He still doesn't know you're making fun. Now i know he does it. Play it along. i know what you're doing. Yeah my best is going to be elijah mitchell junior the third rookie running back san francisco. Proving anybody can run. Kyle chad offense went for over one hundred yards. My worst is going to be. What everybody's talking about conor mcgregor. Greg tries to fight machine gun kelly. At the vm. As last night because machine gun kelly would not give him an autograph apparently going. I'm sensing some sort of jake. Paul logan paul fight but it was the big weight with machine-gun kelly's not fighting anybody well conor mcgregor called him out said. Let's go because i guess. He asked me. She could kelly who i think. Maybe his son is a fan of or something for an autograph machine. Galley shot him down. Conor mcgregor through a drink at him and went beserk or perhaps a whole thing is set up. Something's going on there. No no machine gun. Kelly weighs less than his girlfriend. Megan fox i mean. How much did they kinda mcgregor ways. Mcgregor's a professional fighter. I mean machine gun. Kelly built like a corn stalk yes. Yeah he's he's like six four one twenty. He's as thin as a rail. And then plus it's kind of hard to be like all right. You guys wanna fistfight when the machine gun. Kelly's got like crystals glued all over his face wearing a stunning amount of makeup. And you're like yeah right. What's fight then. I guess. I guess machine gun kelly. Whose an artist by his musician case. You're not aware of machine gun kelly. And he's Goes out with the actress. Megan fox but i guess his security people were a little overly aggressive. With conor mcgregor. Conor mcgregor is walking around with a cane. He just hadn't surgery of month ago and doesn't he goes from zero to one hundred. Couldn't there be somewhere in between where you just go. Hey would love to get a picture and then the security guy pushes union like easy. I just want to get a picture with him. Not because i got a tag tarry up. I'd that's pretty good. Easy easy come on down. I get tired of conor mcgregor. His immediate reaction is throw drink. Yeah wow tough guy you through a drink at a guy. One hundred and twenty pounds. And he's there with his girlfriend and he's got glitter on. Wow wow tough guy. Just get. I get bored by conor mcgregor agai. I understood the whole you know whatever that world was when he was successful and you know. He hasn't been any good for a while he does stupid things. Do you have an an anything else. You've got seton o'connor best and worst my worst of the weekend and it's just punishing. It was absolutely crushing. Like watching my own son get benched. Brooke party iowa state. Not that your boy. That was just not the day. It's your boy. That was my guy that was my guy. He's still is.

Formerly known as the report card forger for the cleveland indians tickets while i was attending catholic school Best to the weekend. I got through the best ever sports talk show to voice. My opinion worst of the weekend could have been the buckeyes would be the browns. But the browns game rodney harrison. Their db gets thrown out of the game. Early sideline incident not even fight. He's walking away from the play one of the case. Kc players gives them a bumpy. Gets a little off balance. They said he stepped on the guy from kansas city. Still on the ground. Casey coach gives them a show. He shoves back backing. They originally called a penalty kansas city. Now they review this so it's not like they missed something and they throw harrison out of the game. How the correct call. What point does that. Yeah i probably would have thrown both coach and player out. Didn't like it bad. Look the coach will probably be fine this week. He should not make contact with a player. He was trying to protect his player. Who was on the ground and harrison. I hate when these players step over a player after you made a tackle and you step over them man. I would go straight up. And whatever i hit. I would have no problem with that. You're going to step over like okay. I'm going humiliate you. I'm going to step over you. How Docket is Revolutionizing Meetings Through a Product-Led Model

"Why did you start docket. Like what was the kind of story enter in the company and has your growth been surprisingly accelerated due to the year. We've had so yes to the second question. But i i have been in indianapolis. My entire career been technology mind tire career. I've been a junior developer at an early stage startup of ten people. I've been mid-level manager at a high growth company exact target and i've been a c. Level executive of publicly traded company in the one consistent thing through all those experiences no matter the company culture or the position i was in it felt like to high percentage of the meetings. I was in felt like a waste of time right. Just felt like they were often covering the same conversations the same topics over and over again and so As i started looking around for what. I really wanted to do from a career perspective. I really wanted to build a company. I've built lots of products built. Let's teams And i really wanted to focus all my energy investment into starting something from the ground up and this just seemed like with the technology we have in place today in with these before. Covid the slow move to video conferencing and this was a prime time to really bring the technology to the forefront in a collaborative way and really make this problem. Go away for for the average user so we started that and we saw immediately you meetings or something that people have an almost visceral reaction to when you talk about them and so it's a universal problem and we saw that immediately when we put your just simple website a little bit of of social of campaigns to drive awareness and it was immediate people were attracted to the solution started signing up starting using it and then when the pandemic hit obviously you had this huge focus on the need to find these collaboration tools. These tools now suddenly every conversation. You're having is a meeting right to make sure that you're being as productive inefficient as you can. Because it's very obvious on on a remote setting if you're wasting people's time and much more so than in local setting in fact so we've seen that huge ramp up and that lift and we early on identified zoom as a strategic partner for us. We wanted to make sure that we were in lockstep with what their road roadmap wasn't what they were doing. And that's paid huge dividends for us. Yeah i really wanted to get into. Because i think at marketplace is going to spawn simply the successful companies coming back to a couple of things on docket. You mentioned. I think you had fifteen thousand users and you mentioned kind of product lead so looked of dive into how you got your first kind of thighs and customers and then just get into how you the founder strategically thought about your go to market from the outset in how you thought about product lead so i kind of dive into customers or users High did you get from zero to like five customers or your fifteen thousand users in such a short amount of time for productivity growth company the user acquisition just has to be incredibly cost efficient right so we started out even before we had a website we started generating content that we would host on the website around just meeting management topics that focused around have productive meetings different types of meetings. That type of thing so seo is our kind of long term play. They're just generate content generate Organic users to the site and that's been working very well for us another aspect of what. We're we do. Obviously is meetings are naturally collaborative in nature so if one person finds dockets signs up starts using it for their team meetings. The other people in the meeting notice that the meetings of ran much better. There are artifacts out of docket agendas. Recaps that are branded docket. That are sent to people and they naturally click start signing up and start using it themselves so we have a very high percentage of of users that come through that viral aspect of the product Outside of that we did start playing with social ads in social campaigns. Just to see if we could drive interest and that was immediate it was. It's very easy to track people to this solution. Because the problem is almost universal. I think it was one of the finest bloom talked about the fact that they would if they had to create another company they would never create a company that didn't have inherent virality the the product like. They've they've learned the lesson that if the product itself is inherently viral things become a lot easier thing what. What's actually hard is not growth. It's monetization into a couple of things that that i was reading. Great tweet from david stocks just by sas companies and that also companies should try to think about teams and versus users. And this is like a good Thought exercise here and just hearing how you think about it because meetings could be a individual user tool and you could upgrade based on number of meetings. I actually don't know what your price is finite or you could try go for like large teams in large companies. How do you think about that as a user team till we Initially focused on the end. User your individual pain and our roadmap in our overall growth strategy is moved from individual team to business enterprise right. I mean just have have the natural growth that you're going to see from adoption of of the product itself lead into the roadmap and support large larger organizations. And so with that the way we've built docket as there's limitation on the number of meeting participants there's no limitation on the number meaning. You can have in the free version. It's use it as you can as best as you can to get more and more people onto the application and then we have a features in the first paid tier which is really for the small teams to help drive that conversion into that paid tear. You get more value out of it as you begin. Use it in team aspect you get some more consistency around the usage of the product and then the outcomes of your meetings are more productive overall Drives natural adoption. What are the interesting things that i love to get your thoughts nece. 'cause you're innocent under space I'm sure always trying to figure out your price packaging. So we had joe thomas. He is the co founder of loom. That was some time ago. Actually when they were earlier stage and they actually were going at a similar path. 'cause we were early. Adopters dot used loom at spread within a company. And it was they were basically trying to get as many individual used products as possible many users and they were then trying to upgrade your team based features recently at they switched the price and to monetize of the core value which is just anyone who's creating a video you can get five minutes or you have to upgrade to get any amount of minutes and so it seems like you're kind of going on the path. They initially went down. Which is like the is the core value for me actually immediate and then you wanna try to price team based kind of features and did you ever think about what kind of business it would be. Just kinda monetize the core value which is the need for the user. Absolutely it is one of those that we're still very early stage and we plan to rate quite a bit on pricing and packaging to learn. Because you you have hypothesis is you start out. But you really don't know We're seeing Good conversion rates On the paid tier as is but there is a large opportunity to to experiment with that especially as we move especially from a small teams into the large organizations where we now have organizations that have hundred seats four hundred seats. That type of thing is what's the value to the organization as a whole it had to be priced to make sure you're giving the premium

You don't have it by itself. But you could always add it to the orange starbursts and have nice little com. That's a good point. Actually, I've added to the cherry one case. I mean, that's cheating. Yeah. It is like a cherry wood. You dilute the cherry because I'm trying to make the lemon. Starbursts couple it with the orange work a little smarter. Okay. You're asking me to work smarter. "I never know how the young people around here. How much they know about ESPN, but media dorks among us get interested in some media stuff at ESPN. So for example, Peter gammons was our baseball guy across a decade. He was the baseball guy. And then Tim Kirk came for his stuff. And then BUSTER only came for stuff where else have you seen this happen? Chris Mortenson was the guy and then Adam Schefter came first. Now their peers, and they're doing it together. But mort is the guy who was Peter gammons in football. Whoa. Was the guy and now schefters coming for wo? Does that mean they'll happening? It's it's a work in progress. But what we've had happened around. Here is yesterday. Jeff passan announced himself. He did only Kirk shin coming to get I'm not only going to break this story on every platform. It's going to be a surprising story on my trout. No one else is gonna have it. And I'm gonna be talking about it minutes later on all the platform, some of them as Elmo if I remember correctly, and I researched it I believe Peter game. It's actually left ESPN parental be network as part of their launch. It was the guy. Yeah. Replace I know point but made it seem as though like Tim Kirkman took. Okay. But you remember Mick sailing team is capable of doing such a thing mcshea is is is chasing Kuyper stuff or your. We all remember where we were when mcshea arrived and dared to argue. Draft with Kuyper never seen it on television. Like, wait. What why would you argue with Mel kiper Todd mcshay announced that early correct did Jeff passan? Yes, or no. Did he do that yesterday? Did he announce himself to everyone as at the network? Hey, there's a new baseball guy in town. I think so. Yeah, I think he did he broke the biggest baseball story and years. Of course, do you think Archie was upset or now Kirch into about BUSTER? He's been on my radar for a while. Because he's hated the Marlins for a long time. I was not a Jeff passan fan before Elmo. Now, I like them that was cool Elba. It does wonders for you really does elbow. I called it album. I don't know. I was thinking the elbow room that little beach on four little bar. What? I mean, just you pivoted to lie the lie. Good bore though. Right. Who's Wilkin coming foreign? I take. All right. Then we all know CNA. Can we absorb for a second the size of that lie? I was thinking about the elbow room a bar in Fort Lauderdale like it's one of his worst efforts here. It's one of stupidity. It's one of his worst efforts ever. I'm with them. It's a good place. You guys don't like elbow room. There was a live terrible live. Why was believe him? Throw yourself out. How about that? Guys are good elbow room story. I I I don't know. All right here, we go..

"I just wrapped it oh the rabbit the ref. Thank you. But mainly me. The paid a lot for this. Yes, we're opening it. Now, this is not the greatest of audio jokes given that it's gonna take him a minute to unwrap the toilet paper. Mike just yell at him on air. What happened that he's taking credit for something? He doesn't that. He's finding out at the same time. As is what it is. Yes. These go on the back for you to stay. Yeah. Once you ready for the audience. Yeah. It says STAN I'm so glad you got fired Stupar. We are all got fired wanted for those you don't know the art by angel Resto is Stu gods as the thinker on a toilet. And STAN Van Gundy personally requested it, so you could checkouts potty have you checked out pot at all. I have. Yes. Liar. It would be actually. Lie about ski party seems like is something you should do. Perfect. You wanna come out later another plan? So tomorrow at noon, allegedly that will end up dropping Kobe is still talking Kobe is still being interviewed. It's. Got something to promote. It's a little unusual. Was it his closet? Mike Greenberg was in it looked like it looked like it looked like a house the size the closet the size of a house. So it was a closet. Mike greenberg. Went to Kobe's closet for an interview got clarification. It was the NBA store, but it looked like obi's. I imagine Kobe's closet. His larger than any house. I've ever been in larger than an MBA store. I mean, the ring on her finger after the allegations is the mid level exception. Maybe I guess we could have just said the ring. Yeah. Do poverty. So Kobe is saying that the Lakers just have to get rid of the young corps. Get rid of everybody. He's always cutthroat. He's always been cutthroat. He's saying everyone needs to be out of here and you build around the Brown. What are your thoughts there stand? Well, yeah. I mean, I don't believe in just getting rid of them. But if you can make a trade, look you've got to look at the next three years of LeBron's contract. And that's got to be everything to that team. So whatever you have to give up or whatever you have to do to put the best people around him. That's once you went out and got LeBron. That's what you're all about. Now. It's an enormous failure. When you have the same record now that you had last year. The Lakers have the same record rod hurt eighteen games. I know but still got case a LeBron played the rest of them. But right agreed to gods. Yes. He missed eighteen games. And that's fair and it nuke their season a lot of things happen. But for them to have the same like think about this. Right. You don't ad-lib Ron and then have the same record that you had. The year before that's hard to do. Lebron miss eighty two games for them last season. Right. I think people are paying too much attention to this year. I think most people thought the Lakers would make the playoffs. But I think most people also thought it was a throwaway year meaning that they weren't going to build this thing for the broad until his second year with LA. But it was building. I think they still will it was built with the thought as everyone should have. Because it's always been so that you just add LeBron to the mix, and he will make anybody great. And during the height of his prime when his body didn't betray him for part of the season. But you saw you saw what he looked like against Mary zone at the end of the game. Does that look like LeBron anybody in our audience at the end of that game going straight at Mariel his own having no speed and no power. Does that look right to you? There's a lot of lottery picks on that team in the assumption was at the very least with this plan the way that it turned out where it was LeBron these young lottery picks that he could at least turn them into viable assets that you can go out and get a next level. Star. Brandon Ingram has really taken that next step Coco's Muslim prove what are they have. That has value..

"Tomahawk podcast is where you check out some of the work that he's doing it's fun. He's fun. Joe Thomas, our friend used to be a very big giant person. And now he's lost a lot of weight, and he's all shredded and stuff, and he looks like the rest of the mortal. So I've got some important debates. I need you to settle around here. First of all Joe. And thank you for joining us. If you're on the flight, and you're not in first class and the basket of chips comes around what is the proper number of bags to grab from the flight attendant coming down with the tray of chips. That's a great question. I would say one to two anything more than that. And you're just gonna look gluttonous and people are going to give you a lot of stairs cause just rude. I mean, how long does the flight attendant have to stand there while you just sip through all the different options, and then pull three or four bags from it? That's that's just out of control. Right. You don't really sift. Yeah. You take yours and then they turn their head to the other aisle. And then you sneak one out the back door, and then you lie about your kids being asleep. A couple of rows back and then boom, you got four snacks. So if Joe Thomas had to have a chocolate chip cookie would he prefer it be hard or soft? Does anybody prefer heart chocolate? You do make any sense. Dan, does I do? Yes. You could say like you like changing it up and every now, and then you like a heart cookie because dunks swell in a milk. But if you had one cookie for for the rest of your life. Everybody would choose soft. Now, I'm taking hard hardships. He doesn't believe his tastes are unusual. Enter tell him he does not want butter on his popcorn and all of his favorite snack. Right. Here we go. I'm sorry. Joe take that one with STAN Van Gundy before we get to all the other. If you don't put butter on your popcorn. What do you put on your popcorn? You just so how will your feet at plane? Yeah. Just to put salt. Yeah. But, but I it still doesn't make sense because the only thing that has to be on there. And then saw this nice to add. But anyways, I guess you have different tastes than most of the world. He's a genuinely baffled. Joe thomas? I mean, this guy Terrell. Suggs couldn't confused him standing these snacking habits do confuse him top four snacks of all time. According to former fat person, Joe Thomas snacks, not chips snacks. I would say skittles on starburst combos like the pizzaria combos tremendous, and I'm like a movie movie theater popcorn phenomenal. But I mean starburst though, Chris I'm with you. Starbucks for sale. Okay. Combos way overrated. Well, I thought the lemon starburst dad to you. Joe? What do you do there? Yeah. The perfect bag of starburst is just the red and pink don't even know what they call them. But the lemons are pretty much worthless. And really just you're looking for the pink and the reds or a nice change up two to one ratio. Yeah. Oh my God. Joe, you know, that they sell just read starburst now, it's a pack. It's called just the reds. It is so good like a tropical punch. They have a bunch of different ones in there and just the pinks, but you'll never find just the ellos Hanks overrated. Starbucks hanks. The pink cherry mix is fantastic. I mean, how much joy can one have put it on the poll. Guillermo, please at lebatardshow the yellow starburst. You've just throw them off to the side on it just the place filler. That's what those are plenty of crunch till you like bunch of crunch. What the heck is that? Oh, I've never heard of that. You've never heard of Essy's plunge. She would love this. Because he told me he loves Nestle crunch bar. What it is it's on tonight size bunch of crunch. It's a Nestle crunch bar, but in little bite size portions, and it's just little little Nestle crunch. Not just by Nestle's. All no. Bite-size or like little asteroids that fit in your mouth and they explode asteroids perfect. If I have a bar. I get to decide what bite sizes..

"Extra starting with me. Dan. Johnny Manziel is back in football. He joined the af one in five Memphis express. They're struggling with attendance, though, I think they just want to get some people. Good decision right there. What about you funniest thing from the sports weekend? Please the dolphins who are trying to tank for next season side. Ryan Fitzpatrick will probably win them six or seven games. So they can't get to ROY. What about you? What's on his thing from the sports weekend? Billy just took mine. Thanks, billy. How about you, Mike? What's the funniest thing from the sports weekend? Well, I didn't know the details. I heard this weekend observations saying that the pelicans were trying out tank the sons in that game. Here on this piece of paper. The pelicans one from leading the Suns by three with less than five seconds left and not to losing by two. They had a five second inbound violation and called the timeout when they didn't have one. It was actually really funny. They call the time out that they didn't have. And then in the very next play the head coach called the timeout that they didn't have they did it twice just to seal it, the three point the three pointer that Phoenix stuck at the end of that game. All they had to do was foul. The pelicans just had the foul people were screaming foul fouth Audi announcing for screaming. And the pelicans were having nothing to do with that. Because when you're trying to lose the game, Dan, you're trying to lose a game ROY salute you once again for your excellent improvisational work. It was the funniest thing this weekend. So I need to know who Joe Thomas is oh anything about his body transformation. But the very fact that Joe Thomas body conservation is an option makes it the only one. I can. Yes, Joe Thomas is a hall of fame left tackle who since leaving football has gone on a diet that has made him a Kenyan marathon and body type him. He looks like an adventure of some sort. He's got crazy veins popping out of his arms and new Joe Thomas. Crazy handsome. I'll try that. We wouldn't have known right? We Joe Thomas. What's crazy handsome because they inflated him full of tire air worth about one hundred and twenty pounds. What's he way? Now. John Lewis lost that way, fast, man. Yeah. Well, he'll be joining us on Wednesday. So we can ask him. What was the funniest thing from the sports weekend for you Spurs are now six oh when bats enter the arena during a game. Did you ever have any bad experiences when you were in San Antonio meet show because the back problem there is something that seems alarming? They've got a mascot that runs out with the net and the costume to attack the bats every time they appear you have any San Antonio is an awful place to place for no I love playing. It was also the fans generally genuinely warm because they I think they at least when I played they always neither went to win. So they never had any need to be really mean. Nicer winning. We'll make your nicer I've got the funniest thing from the sports weekend. Being the New York Giants picking up the option on ally manner. I can't believe what happened there. Ben mcadoo had the strength who was the general manager at the time. Ben mcadoo had the strength to bench, you manning and move on into the future and everything that's happened since then is the Mara siding with ally. Manning and now they get rid of Odell Beckham instead of ally. Manning did you guys than anyone in our audience have the idea a couple of years ago? Think about this the idea that ally manning would still be there. But Odell Beckham wouldn't be no one. How is that possible? All what you've been waiting for his next. We're gonna do stump the meet with Jonah Edelman that's up. But was it was it? I don't think it was Gettleman. I think it was Ben mcadoo. I think the new regime is in charge. Yeah. Jerry Reese was the one that you're looking for he's giving you the answer is how this all came to be. Yes. But gentleman came in. I don't think it's Gettleman. I think it's the maros. Like, you saw what the reaction was when they benched Eli manning. The next move was just dump everybody in management for offending. The great Eli manning and his to ring soup. Stretching. That's. Rest easy people with casper mattresses. We've all got them here. We're all telling you that. There are something that you should be sleeping on stump. The meat is next..

Well, just numbers. Not just just it's hard. I know Ed call veasley throw them in there. Yeah. But you know, I I I'm waiting to be proven wrong with the titans. How's that? Right. I don't have any animosity towards them or you don't spend enough time on them. I'm sure there are a lot of other teams that we don't spend a lot of time on. Yes. Mclovin. You've ever that play in overtime. I think they're in London where they they had the chargers beat and Mario to brand an awful play feel like that's titans. They get so close I like their coach. I like variable and I loved Mario to coming out of college. He just hasn't improved. He hasn't gotten better. He hasn't been consistent. He hasn't been healthy. And I've always talked about the skill position players. So not much has changed. And if they do surprises, then great. But now, there's there's no bias here. My going boy, how can I say something negative about the titans titans? Don't come up in conversation. The only reason why they did is you you traded for Ryan tannehill. Granted you got him on the cheap. Okay. What did you get? Hey, we got a great backup quarterback in case are starting quarterback. It's hurt. All righty. That's quite a game plan. You got phone calls coming up, by the way. Joe Thomas, the former Browns all pro tackle the first ascent in his bracket. Joe already filled it out. Now, he went to Wisconsin. That's smart too fast. Don't over think it. Yes. Yes. Because you know, how I grind over this damn. Thing. I watch every show all this into every all listen to people who aren't even analyst. I could have Albert down at the Bard seven seas. You might say, you know, keep an eye on Belmont. I'd pencil in Belmont to go Sweet Sixteen. "But I'm just happy to be a fan like you right now to be able to enjoy it. And I'm just gonna live in the moment while you're also doing really well on television as well. You don't need me to tell you that. I don't know. Oh what the giants? Well. Thank you, sir. I mean, I mean, I don't know what the giants are doing. However, I understand if you go the guys that headache. We don't want him here anymore. It's not worth that headache. But then Joe when you see them get rid of Landon Collins, who's a twenty five year old when you see them spend money on a veteran receiver like golden Tate who I like a lot. But I don't know what their plan is. Can you figure out the giants plan? I'm scratching my head just as much as you are when when they traded Odell I was fully expecting them to sort of be on the same plan that the Browns were about three years ago where they're in this deep rebuild multi your you build and two three years. They're going to be saving salary cap space and trading back into the draft to collect more picks for future years. But then last year they drafted a running back number one overall and running backs don't have a long shelf life. So you don't wanna be burning up hours in miles on your all pro running back in years. You don't think you're gonna win? They've got a thirty year old quarterback. And now, they're signing golden Tate. So it really doesn't make sense the moves they're they're making are not giving us a clear idea of the direction of that franchise. Because some of the moves are making your thinking. Okay. They're making this for the future because they know they're not going to be very good for couple years. But then all of a sudden, they try to make a splash and try to cover up the whole by signing a golden Tate. It'll be interesting to watch them because we can't really figure out where that franchise is headed last question for you. And once again, we appreciate your time. We're going to ask you the poll question that Brockman put together today? Brockman, you wanna wanna get out the poll question at asked you we opened with the Frank or question that you're versus wrong about. And now we're gonna ask you this who finishes with the most wins this coming year. Joe teams that made the kind of splashy est moved Brown's raiders jets Jaguars. We added the Steelers because of what they lost. Well, that's an easy question. We've been talking Browns all week in the great moves that they've made. So I think out of that group it that's an easy answer that the Browns are going to be finishing with the the most Linda that career and that that's that said without bias, right? Without any bias. Of course. I wouldn't ever doubt you show. Thomas was truly done a great job all week at NFL network as he did on Thursdays. And whatever else he was on last season. Joe, I know they're pulling you fifty ways this week here and ask you to this show in that show. So I appreciate hopping on the phone here for ten twelve minutes this morning, you probably have better things to do work out and lose more weight. So thank you, sir. At me baking. You got Joe Thomas everybody really he has lost so much weight. He walks in the room. And and and it was like, hey, who's the felt tight end? Really? And as Don said of my air, we probably need to get a new headshot there for him because he is not that guy anymore by the poll. "Shut up over there. Sorry. DJ got me going in the break. And now, I'm just, you know, still going by let me introduce myself. My name is Andrew I host this show when rich sometimes what what I sometimes when riches rich is on vacation. This is the rich Eisen program here one audience, we're on Fox Sports radio wherever where we're many places, and we're happy that you are here with us. I host the red zone channel and direct TV on Sundays and up to the minute. Among other things on NFL network Monday through Friday normally up to the minute is at one o'clock eastern time joining shortly is scheduled to appear is Joe Thomas, the former Browns left tackle and future hall of Famer speaking of the hall of fame. Moments ago during the commercial if you'd like to pull the curtain back. Chris Brockman, the bald headed man over there who also went to Syracuse the finest university east of the Mississippi correct said that Frank Gore's not a hall of Famer I? I. For yourself intention. No, it isn't. Let me tell you something with five hundred and twenty one yards this season. If he is to get there, and he's thirty five years old. But if he is to get their five hundred twenty one yards Frank gore will tie berry Sanders for the third most rushing yards in the one hundred year history of the National Football League. And that is a great accomplishment. I would like you to tell me your favorite Frank gore moment, the matter. Yes, it does the matter. Yes. It does doesn't matter. Give me your favorite Craig Bijou moment. Give me your favorite Curtis Martin moment. Exactly. Same point. He's in the hall of fame. Maybe he shouldn't be. Yes, he should be. Okay. So there are of the top twelve rushers in the history of the National Football League. Eleven or in the hall of fame. The only one that is not I'm sorry tenor in the hall of fame. The only two that are not or the two that are active and therefore not eligible Frank gore with fourteen thousand seven hundred forty eight career rushing yards in front of them. Barry Sanders behind him Curtis. Martin and Adrian Peterson with thirteen thousand three hundred eighteen career rushing yards with Jerome Bettis in front of them and Eric Dickerson behind him. Great. So we're rewarding him with the highest honor the league has because he's played a longtime shut up. I don't like to use the phrase shut up because it's mean-spirited and it's negative. You can tell the stories of hundred years of the national book. Dolly don't win Frank gore that that but you don't need that that like that bar is unfair stay there. Let me ask a man who. Do you agree? Joe Thomas will be in the pro football of fame wind. I do. I do believe that. Okay. He's listening. Joe Thomas a future hall of Famer my colleague now the NFL network. "Joe Thomas future hall of Famer Joe Thomas, he formerly of the Cleveland Browns in what are the best in house productions by any of the thirty two teams. Joe Thomas will join us. He will talk me down from the ledge. He will tell me that the Browns will actually be good because he said on the air when the trade went down on Wednesday that they have no holes on the roster. I disagree. Anyway, you gotta talk him into coming back. So real quick the I think he tells us off the air show. I'm going on the I'm gonna tell this other couple of days the Trent Brown thing happens, right and Brown signs a contract worth eighteen million. I bump into Joe over NFL network. And I said how fast because if you haven't seen Joe he's taking a lot of weight off to how fast could you put the weight back for eighteen million? Now, I'm gonna do it said really, oh he goes for twenty million though. For twenty. I would do it. Anyway, let's go to the phones here phone number eight four four two four rich back to that baseball conversation. Lucas in Virginia, you're on the rich Eisen show. How you how are you, sir? I just driving Trump ban lifted ready beautiful. You're on the air. Lucas go for it. Well, I completely understand. I grew Orioles fan. I got to watch Ripken. My favorite player of all the time. Pete rose. I just don't understand why we can't teach young hitters to go field or situational lay down a bun here. There's plenty to gain the way was intended to play and as far as changing the game. I like the pitch count rule being the pitched up between pitches, but you taking too much out of baseball and away within tend to be placed Lucas, thanks for the call. I grew. And once again, I understand that the game volts John may the great point before Jon morosi from we'll be network the DA fundamentally changed the game. Most of us have accepted, the D H were cool with it. We like it matter of fact, you wouldn't wanna go back would you know, they announced tomorrow, by the way the American League we've decided to scrap the date. Now, the union would hate it because it would take John. Jobs away from players would take salaries away from players would people would argue that these these these pitchers would be hurt at the plate while it worked in the National League. They'd be okay. But you wouldn't want to go back. You wouldn't wanna go back? But this to me is fundamentally changing the game. Imagine. I mean, I can't even think of something like could you put a guy on the basketball court? And then he's gotta be out there for X number of minutes before you take him out of the game. That's a difficult analogy not going out every session. Imagine not having the two point conversion football. There was a time. But it could you imagine going back to where there wasn't one. Now. I don't know that there would be that much of an outrage. I don't think so now talking about football changes when we get to the owners meetings, the spring league meeting, I think we will call it coming up in Phoenix a week from Monday. There will be a whole list of rule changes on the table for the competition committee for the for the owners, and you need you need twenty four votes. You need three quarters of the votes for these rules to go through. But one of the rule changes is is something right out of the alliance right out of the af I do a f- games NFL network, and that would eliminate the onside kick, and what it would do is. You would get one play and you have to get fifteen yards. One play. You put it on the thirty five. You gotta get to the fifty. And that would be the onside kick right now on the alliance. It's one play twelve yards. You put on the twenty eight you get to the forty. What do you think kind of into that? It's different but football thinks differently. And I think fans have a far more open mind to those changes..

Joe Thomas or Kurt Warner too early leaders. Kurt Warner one Tony Romo to then. Joe thomas? No. You can't put Tony Romo in there. Oh, he's not eligible. Well, how long is this deal? TV? What are you thinking? He's he's firmly. Cemented at CBS. Okay. So we're going to go only with real possible names. Okay. Yes. Yeah. Tony romo's. Not a possibility. Kurt Warner Greg Olsen nape. Burleson Louis Riddick. Don't put Peyton Manning in there. Because Peyton would be probably the overwhelming. What do you hear about that any chance at they'll have a get him into the booth? I know there've been efforts by plenty of network. I think time commitment, you know, the problem is that ESPN it's never just that job. It's always Jason Witten would do the game on Monday night, but he would be on get up in the morning or he'd be on the radio show. And and so it's it's far more than just, hey, good. Just go do your job. And I think that that can scare some people like Peyton Manning away. Like what's the time commitment here and Peyton would commit to doing a great job. It's the other ancillary stuff that probably would dry. Have you way? Yeah. Fritzy pains Omaha Omaha kill kill that's going to get very distracting in the booth. That's not going to last very long. Arizona teacher strike: Union boss warns walkout could be 'long haul'

"So if you remember how it went. Read for read said, we wanna raise the governor said, you know, what you're right. So he went to the legislature, president of the Senate speaker house and said can we get this done? And they said, you know, what we can get it done. We're gonna get them the twenty percent they've asked for over three years. We're going to do it. So the governor came back a couple of days later and said you're going to get the raise. Well, Joe Thomas who had taken over the movement by then who is the head of the unions in Arizona week as they are. And Noah carve, Ellis, the self socialist and guiding Derrick Harris was no longer here. Rebecca Garelli on these red. Fred people said, we don't believe you, Mr. governor, Mr. MRs legislators, we don't believe you. So we're going to walk out of school anyway, and they did seventy thousand people strong. And a lot of you don't know this, and I can't drive this home enough. The legislature worked on a budget that over a three year period gives teachers at twenty percent raise half of it in year one. And they were working on passing this budget until the wee hours of the morning. Do you know that leadership of red? Fred Joe Thomas, Noah, Carvalhas, Derrick Harris, all of them with their friends and in the democratic caucus in both the house and the Senate tried to kill that budget. Do you know that they want a governor Ducey gone so badly that they tried to kill the twenty percent raises for the teachers? So they could say it never happened. Like, they said it wasn't going to. And I will I will respectfully cast out the invitation one more time Joe Thomas. Derrick Harris has gone Joe Thomas miss corral. Noah Corvallis, any of the leaders of Red Front, even the new one J Budo any of you out there if I'm lying about this. Please call me out send me an Email. I will read your E mail verbatim on the air. You tried to kill the budget. You tried to stop the raises from going through to the wee hours of the morning. And when the Republicans passed it anyway, Joe Thomas ran to a podium and congratulated the teachers in attendance saying that it wasn't the dirtbag legislature or the dirtbag governor that got it done. It was the teachers in attendance that got this done. Did he tell those teachers in attendance that he was working behind the scenes to try to kill the budget? Did they do that? They didn't they didn't. Well, one of their five demands was no new tax cuts. Now, why in the world at teacher organization as long as they're getting the increases they asked for give a damn about tax cuts shows, you why this political I'm bringing all of this up because tomorrow is the day. Day. Tomorrow is debate in the legislature on a couple of tax cut measures. And they have been red. Fred has been imploring teachers to leave school. Take the day off sign up to speak in the legislative sessions in the committees. So that their two minutes can be heard and they can show their protest. Now, how many teachers are going to do this? I don't know. But if I were you, and I had a student or a grand son or daughter in the valley schools. I would be asking the administration my kid's classrooms going to double in size because teachers are taking the day off. Are you calling in a a more than usual amount of substitute teachers because teachers are taking the day off? If they can question you if they can come after you and ask you why you're taking your child out of school to excuse an absence. You certainly can do it for a teacher. Why are you taking the day off? Well, that's your business. Well, I tried saying that about my students when I was taking my student out of school. And I said, it's none of your business. Why I'm taking my kid out? And you made me explainer was an unexcused absence. I'm not trying to set up a war between teachers, and parents, I'm saying that the teachers and parents should be working together and red Fred claims, they're all about the students. Well, if you're walking out of school to go to a committee hearing in the legislature, you're ignoring the children. Now, your argument is going to be long term. It's better for the children. Well, that's what you have lobbyists for you pay. Joe you pay Joe a lot of money. He makes a lot of money to lobby on your behalf. Let him go to the legislature and state your case, you're gonna take schooltime off really. And how about May Day. Why don't some of you start asking your kids what they know about red? Fred what their teachers are saying about red. Fred, why don't you start asking in your school if the principal and the administration is going to give excused absences to teachers on may first or May Day to walk out in. Solidarity with teachers across the country. Maybe if I were you I'd try to find that out. Contractually? They're not allowed to do that. If they do they are in violation of the verbiage of their contract and could lose their jobs. I am in favour of teacher raises fair teacher compensation. I admire the job that teachers do across the board. Even if you're in support of red, Fred if you're a good teacher. Thank you for the great job you do. But if you're walking off the job for political reasons, you are ignoring the very students you claim to be fighting for and we haven't even gotten into and probably don't have time to get into the strong arm bully tactics behind the scenes because tomorrow is Wednesday. Tomorrow's the day that all teachers are supposed to wear red. And if you're one of the teachers that dare not wear red man, they write your name down. You're not a team player. You're not with us. You're against us. It's like being in high school all over again. It's the breakfast club all over again. That's what red Red's turned into. That's what they've become. I've dared them. I've challenged come on the show. Call me a liar proved me, I'm lying. I'll admit I'm wrong if I'm wrong. They haven't said word one they've gone underground. They have tried to. Hide from me. They've tried to hide from you. If they're so great if they're on the side of

"News. Joe Thomas has been kidnapped had been replaced with a cost. Yeah. We don't. Hang up on this person. And find a real Joe Thomas because the Joe Thomas we know in law, though, Wisconsin lineman. Joe Thomas would not put on through a not say these things on our air. Okay. Now, you have to tell me you love this. So I get it. There's a difference of watching football for what we saw in that game and fans being entertained by what they didn't see on the field. I get it. But you as an old linemen with about four minutes and fourteen seconds ago have to love the four minute offense at the patriots put on eighth straight runs to kick a field goal on ice that game. You what if I was a patriots offense of wine, and that was about as good as the game possibly gone because I guarantee the two weeks leading up to that game the nightmare for those guys was we're going to be in the two minute drill. I gotta block Aaron Donald one on one. And if I this up I'm going down in infamy is the guy that couldn't block Aaron Donald to walk the Super Bowl for my team. So those guys have to be absolutely ecstatic not only that they won. But that they didn't have to deal with Aaron Donald and a two minutes situation. Nearly at all of that game. All right. So with that in mind, what did you like about the way the patriots? Are what was your what did you think? How effective the patriots were? And what impressed you the most of how they were able to basically limit Aaron Donald in that contest. Because you know, listen, nobody was able to do to him all season long with the patriots sit on super Sunday. Well, really the the best defense for Aaron Donald really happens on the other side of the ball. And that's what happens with your offense and the other teams offense because jerk off and the Rams offense was never able to get anything going. And so when it's a close game offensively for the patriots. You don't have to take those risks. You don't have to drop back in pass. You don't have to put your offensive lineman at one on one blocking situations, which gives you more guys running down the field more guys open. But it also puts you in a bind as an offensive lineman. Because now you've got a block your Donald one on one. And they hardly had that situation at all. So the patriots offense was able to continue to just run the football and pound the ball right at the Rams. And then in those passing situations they were able to throw a quick throws. They didn't have to go down the field, and they were able to focus on play action, which usually gives you an extra blocker it gives you an extra half a second. At the line of scrimmage before the defense of line realizes, it is a past and transition into their pass rush mode. So the game was perfectly set up for that patriots offense line. Versus Aaron Donald. But a lot of it happened. When the other team was on the field. Joe Thomas joining us on the shell Pennzoil performance line. Golic and wingo. ESPN radio ESPN news. What do you think's going onto the ram sidelines from the offense aside because that was the the frustrating part, they they work they any adjustments. They were doing weren't working extremely well. So what do you think going on over on that offense a sideline well enormously frustrating when you're the most potent offense, or maybe the second most potent offense in the NFL, and you're not able to do anything in the first staff and really anything throughout the entire game. All the things that you've lived on all season with the play action pass the whites on the big trunk plays down the field. None of that is working. It's frustrating because you don't know where to turn that was your identity all season. They hadn't had to become anybody else during the season. Which is what the patriots have always been great at the Rams defense had a great plan going to the game. Wait, soaps did a great job taking away. The little swing passes to the running back out of the backfield. They couldn't get much going down the field. Even gronk was really eliminated the first half. So what what he said? All right. We're going to be somebody else. We'll put to tighten the game. We're a portfolio back in. We're just gonna pound the ball. And when we get those matchups now that we've made you go big we're going to get those good matches with gronk with then we're going to pick and choose our our moments, but for the Rams they just didn't have to do it all season, and they weren't able to do it in the biggest game of the season. Well, one of the things that has been a big part of the Rams offense all years. Joe Thomas joins us had been Todd Gurley. Twenty one touchdowns. He was limited down the stretch of the season. Joe to knee injuries. Only a linen touches in the NFC championship game. Only eleven touches in the Super Bowl. This doesn't seem right. So either these hurt and we'll find out or something else. Played into this. Because there's no way Sean McVay just ops to go away from a guy that had been the MVP for their team for most of the season. Scary. We've seen in the Super Bowl since since last year which exactly which is just crazy to all of a sudden not use one of your best players. And I tell you what the guy that hated seeing called girly limited in the playoffs. Anybody with lady out belt because he was definitely talk. I'll do my big contract way Todd Gurley did. And I think we saw here is how ineffective a running back and be and with a little bit of a knee injury. Or maybe just because the defense can focus on you a little bit. And I think that speaks a lot to the value or running back where C J Anderson can come off the street and play much better than Todd Gurley down the stretch. Now, we don't know what the injuries situation or the difficult situation, but certainly czar story because as the Los Angeles Rams running attack goes because if they can't run the football they can't fool anybody into their play action attack. And if they can't run the ball or two can't play action. Jared Goff is not even if he can just stand in the pocket and be Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. And we saw what happens when he has to do that. And he's very ineffective so inevitably after a season for every team even the Super Bowl teams. There are changes and or one of them for each team. At least is going to be Zach Taylor the quarterback coach for the Rams going to be the head coach in Cincinnati. Natty and Brian is a linebacker and defensive play caller coach for New England is going to be the head coach with the Miami Dolphins. So while they're gone and about New England, Joe, we've seen assistance move on and become head coaches. And only Bill O'Brien has had some some bit of success. The rest have not why do you think that is? Yeah. It's interesting. We had a real deep conversation about this on my podcast, the Tom art show a couple of weeks ago, and really when you look at Bill Belichick system and part of the reason he's been so successful. He's he's built this funnel of assistance where he's taking guys that have almost no football experience. But he's taking guys that are just really really smart, and they're willing to commit five to ten years of their life to just be basically, film, watchers and assistance under the Belichick system. Where Bill basically takes everything he knows about the game and gives it to these guys. And so it's just a game of learning a million little things, and whether you're doing it as a coach or as a player, it takes a lot of time. And the patriots way has get somebody. Who's really smart get a Matt Patricia rocket scientists who has a great memory. And I'm gonna teach them everything. I know. But what you end up getting is somebody who's learned the books from Bill Belichick, not somebody who has written the book and inevitably when you become a head coach you're going to be faced with situations that you didn't ever have an experience with. But when you're a guy like Bill ballot. Check your guy like Bill O'Brien who didn't start in in the system, you had a lot of different coaches and a lot of different experiences to fall back on think about to formulate your opinion on something that has happened to make a decision based on your experiences and not just your rote memorization of what what Bill Belichick do. So you become your own person? And you understand what works best for you. Whereas a lot of these patriots assistance, basically just try to clone Bill. Ballot. Check. And a lotta times things are lost in the sauce when it's not coming from your own brain. It's just what did I learn from still Bella chick? It's a lot like when we talk about the Chinese -education system. And this is getting really far down the road. Let's go. Wow. China. You know, they have all these really smart scientists, but they don't have that creativity. Because all they're learning. They're just copying what the Americans are doing. And they're just learning Xs and os, if it were they're not being creative. And I think that's a great metaphor for the patriots way of doing things versus the rest of the NFL where the patriots have a lot of great assistance, but few of them have gone on to become great coaches. Let me just say among the myriad of topics. I thought I was hearing from Joe Thomas this morning. Doctorate thesis about the Chinese educational did not see that. But that's why toe is one of the greatest guest of all time. He keeps us on toes. Speaking of that Joe. Need to ask you about? This Baker Mayfield. Obviously is a guy who liked Tom Brady prefers to play with that chip on his shoulder. And he keeps it there. And it sparks his fire. How much do you think the idea that saquon won the rookie of the year? What you can't argue with over bakers breaking Peyton Manning style. Rookie touchdown record. How much do you think that will spurn him to to even better things in the second season? Wanted to start by saying saquon had an excellent season. But I do think when you're talking most valuable what Baker Mayfield did as a quarterback the way he was able to come in and play nearly flawless the best quarterback rookie season that any of us can remember surpassing Peyton Manning touchdown record and not even close to as many interceptions to me was much more valuable to our with that being said your questions. Baker Mayfield Whoopee normally motivated by this because he is a guy much like Tom Brady much like Julian that is enormously motivated by the outside, noise and people's opinion of them, and what they say about him, and he's definitely going to carry that ship for a really long time. And I think everybody's gotta find whatever that internal motivation. Is that gets the best out of you the best version of yourself? And with Baker those motivations is that people that are saying, you're not good enough. Or you want the best and certainly he is going to carry this through the off season and probably for several. Years again, we're talking to Joe Thomas ten time pro bowler going to walk into the hall of fame. And I say that again because we say that a lot about you..

"So i think the big question everybody's mind is now that the governor signed you know pay raises for teachers and all that happened quickly this morning i realize there's not a chance for everybody to really gather around and figure out what the next move is but everybody wants to know our our teachers going to go back to work tomorrow jim cross joins us live from the state capital where he's been talking to teachers who've been out there all night long nothing official from arizona educators united nor the arizona education such as far as i can see jim but it sounds like they're going to go back to work tomorrow yeah looks like you know some districts ralph they'd probably gonna be closed whereas of the week you know there's some schools that are open right now some will certainly reopen tomorrow most of them reopening friday as we understand it a president joe thomas told us as soon as this was signed teachers would start returning to the classroom that has happened about an hour ago now the governor signed the twenty by twenty planned bill in the law so it looks like tens of burgas this wonkfest strike of teachers and the history in fact the first statewide teacher walkout in history has come to an end you know i if there's anything one can take away from this whether you were for the teacher raises not for the teacher raises didn't think the teachers should have walked out in but still deserved raises whatever they have proven they are a force to be dealt with jim.

"Exactly like you're in you're in a great spot because you're trading only three spots down and you know and that's about two and three will be quarterbacks that's why it could be very attractive for them all right chris canty stick around coming up are the cowboys fallen behind the rest of the nfc talk about that next on earth one would think would have taken one look at the eagles success and immediately jumped star starters their off season moves but dallas is acquired just one new player through free agency joe thomas and unfortunately he's the guy who had five tackles for the packers last year not the all time great left tackle meanwhile the eagles are still adding stars on defense and the giants added a star left tackle to go along with the number two pick so chris have the cowboys done enough to stay close in the nfc east village the dallas cowboys are doing what they came they franchise demarcus lawrence to keep him from walking away in free agency and they were up against a cat so they didn't have a whole heck of a lot of options in terms of supplementing the roster this interest in allen hers they met with him yesterday after us cut by the jacksonville jaguars and not to mention they still got a dress that zak borden contract this off season they're going to have to make him a top of the market offense of god i mean you saw what ads nor will from the jacksonville jaguars and free agency zack martin is going to be the highest paid.
