Uh um First of all everything about the Broncos game yesterday is right at the top of favorite moments that happened for me over the weekend. But I did get to go to empower field at mile high for the Buffs game on Saturday with the big fella. As the CEO Bucks were playing Texas A and M And we ended up probably watching the game. And, like three different sweets. Uh, throughout the game. Yes. Three different sweets. Maybe four. And the first one that we started off in was the wrong sweet. And we walked into the suite full of Texas A and M fans. That Alfred thought was the right. Sweet, right? Right. Sweet because that's the one we were in. Right at kickoff, and you ought to hear what the big fella sounds like. And how hyped he is, Uh, for the kick off or like, Come on, Buffalo's right guard got into that. An entire suite of people looking at him. Like, what the hell is this? All of a sudden now for gets a phone call and the person on the other end the line says, Hey, man, you're you're in the urine The You're in the wrong somewhere where you guys add were in this, sweetheart. Yeah. Oh, I said, Oh, we really are in the wrong Swede. I'm not gonna lie to you. These Texas and infants wanted out for to stay, uh, first and foremost, But that is how How the day started with us in the wrong sweet. And, uh, what A what a good time being there in the hospitality of, uh, of the folks from from C. You were great as well. It was great to say hello to Coach Mac. It was great to say hi to to Rick, George and man. It was just, uh, I thought Saturday. Saturday was great until the very end. Um, when the bus ended up, giving it up with three minutes to go in the game. Yeah, it was. It was. It was a heartbreaking loss to Texas A and M. I mean, Every Colorado football fan out there saw great performance by the defense and the offense just could not get it. Going. Man could not get it going. I just You know, it was it was a heartbreaker. I'm not going to lie. You know, I'm not going to shy away from it. We should have won that game. You know, we didn't. They didn't beat us. We lost that game. Okay. We lost that game and that that's a game that if you if you want to be a big time program, you got to just have that game, especially here in Denver. Everything about that game, said that we should have one. I mean, the crowd was fantastic. The atmosphere was electric, and we had them down to the second string quarterback. Who was just really afraid. I mean, he was afraid he he didn't know what to do until he got some confidence later on in the third quarter in the fourth quarter, finally made a throw. That was a big time throw. And, um, that was it, man. I mean, that was it, Uh, that's couldn't believe it. That was that was a loss. But in other news in college football, uh, USC with the big loss last weekend, um, went ahead and fired their head coach two games in two games in so The Pac 12 right now. Felt like, uh, it should have been. Uh oh, glorious right now because Uh, Oregon went on the road and absolutely some mashed mashed. Ohio State, and we should have smashed in the hard sell man smashed and him here last weekend, man that would have that would have showed up so well for the Pac 12. He didn't happen. But you know they're changes going on in college football already, man. I mean, Keyshawn Johnson came out and said he no longer can ride with Clay Helton. And then of course, you know, a guy that we know. Well, uh, Mike Bone is the A D out there at USC and Pull the trigger. Fired him. Yeah. There you go. It is weird to see. Um You know where. Where? The first of all I thought the bus played as well, as you pointed out, and it just seemed like, uh, they just stayed. They stayed in the game. They stayed in the game. The second half. So, yes, Phobias are treatable, as are all habits. These are not Part of your scheme. Unless you accept them. You can lose weight overcome insomnia, obsessive compulsive disorders, anything and any phobia can be eliminated by. In fact, I work with professional athletes to you know, I work with baseball players, You know, baseball play best 401 month and 102nd month. Now these guys didn't forget how to hit. And, of course after after the game, when you were evaluating both performances, you've spent more time than either one of us has. Watching training camp watching practice. She went down to Minnesota. You saw the ones play against the ones and and and everything when you take the entire body of work. That you have seen both just in training camp in those joint practices and in preseason games. Do you say to yourself? It's it's even Steven like Vic Fangio does Or do you think that there's a front runner? And and maybe that front runner now is Teddy Bridgewater? Well, here's Here's how I would say this. I think that Drew has outplayed Teddy in training camp and in the two games now Teddy had a better game. This past game, the body of work. I would say the Drew has played better that said, I think I think Teddy does have the lead. I think part of that is fueled by the fact that the coaching staff kind of handle lean to him going into this thing, and I think part of it. Is these coaches. Jobs are on the line, and I think there's a bad taste in their mouth from last year, and there's going to be more hesitant to turn this thing over to Drew. Then they normally would be because they know they've got to win. They've got to win quickly, and if they don't well, then it's going to be somebody else's decision next year anyway. You know being, uh, that's that's great that you said that because Is from a defensive standpoint, when, uh, you know, let's just say that Teddy's checking the checking the football down that seems to be Some rhyme or reason why he's doing it. He's looking down the field. He's looking for his number one receiver. It's not there. He knows where his checkdown is immediately and it almost looks like it's a check down because the first First read wasn't there? I don't think he's going 12, then check down, But I know he's going one at least and Czech down and the offense has a rhythm to it and take real rhythm. On the other hand, when I saw Drew lock in an obvious third down situation That it felt like he needed to push the ball past the change. They can't uh, Peyton Manning, who by the way through out the first pitch at the All Star game yesterday, and, um Started bounced it to the catcher. Although he was putting some he did throw with some sauce behind it. He wasn't just trying to get it over the plate. He was trying to get it over the plate in a hurry, which I can respect that. But Peyton as he's getting ready to go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which is going to be, uh, outstanding because there's two different classes going in This year because of what happened last year. Peyton Manning spoke to the media today and first and foremost, he talked about his dad. Archie being a mentor to him. You know, my dad never coached me growing up, but it was kind of my mentor and, uh, his rule was I had to ask him for help. Uh, for football, he was glad to do it. As long as I was kind of initiating it. So it wasn't like Dad was volunteering the information we weren't We just talking about this, Alfred. Not even to his son, right? I mean, there's Listen. We had this conversation earlier and we didn't get a chance to Go any further on it, but You know, great. Great. Players are stubborn to give away the inside secrets because it's what makes them great players. And if I know, like Peyton Manning knows you've put a lot of work in the learning those secrets. You just don't give them away. You're talking about a guy who set an NFL record. Throwing interceptions as a rookie. That's who Peyton Manning is. Okay, but he's also the guy that came back and when he retired, was all time leading passer in NFL history as far as yards and touchdowns. That's who he was, as he finished, But that's not the way he started. And I guarantee you those lessons that he learned in that first year are very valuable. And he guarded those lessons. Like most people do in our business, Uh, Peyton talked about coming to Denver in free agency. Denver, you know, took a chance on me. I never I'll never forget it because it was. It was, uh, there was a dicey time. There were nobody. Quite sure, including me. Uh, I knew what was gonna happen and ended up being a great place to go. I mean, you got to remember when Peyton came here. He had been coming off the next surgery. He You knew he had We found out later down the line There was he didn't have feeling in a couple of his fingers. Huge nerve damage. Nerve damage. I mean, he was the Peyton Manning is the ultimate warrior. I mean, ultimate warrior after finding out everything that he went through And he was still able to play at that level. After everything that he went through. Nobody can ever question his heart. Nobody can ever questioned his heart. Peyton is going to the Hall of Fame. He's uh Got his speech ready to go, and, uh, he talked about whether or not he can keep it short. They're saying there's uh, like a blinking light at six minutes, maybe a little bell going off at seven minutes and eight minutes. They say that someone's got to come up and lead the applause to, uh, kind of in the speech. After me is never going to happen. It's going to happen because, uh, Talk to Steve Atwater about this extensively, because, um You know he was working on his timing as well because I think it's respectful the to give everybody their time and we don't get into these bouts where guys are getting A 15 or 20 or 30 minute speech. Um, you know time is It's precious on this this moment and I'm guaranteeing you pay to have it right around the eight minute mark. I talked about whether or not he's going to be able to thank everyone. Unfortunately, it's just not enough time to thank everybody. The good thing is for the past five years, either on a handwritten note or a phone call or in person. I've had a chance to thank the people personally. Which is always good. You always know that That's that's who he is. He also talked about the guy who's going to be presenting him. Um, he mentioned earlier his dad was his mentor. Maybe didn't volunteer a lot of the secrets unless he was asked, But his dad is the one who's going to be presenting him. I'm not sure how that works, but you know, having him As a part of this riding in the parade with me, That's uh, that's very special to me as well. And the last thing I'm happy for him for that, By the way, I am too happy for him. The last thing that he talked about was, uh On the Broncos taken a chance on him. And the reason that makes me smile is Um I mean, like, how could you not? They were the only really team that was that understood. I think what I was going through emotionally physically, and I think a lot of that is Elway. Yeah. And John? Uh You know, John dealt with some injuries his last few years with the Denver Broncos having the missed that, um Having to miss that 98 the 98 season with so many injuries, and Bubby Brister coming in and playing as much as he did I know that that bothered him that bothered him. He wanted to be healthy. And, uh And you know when, when you When you watch great players go through injuries and just being there to see it happen when you when you're there to see it happen and Um The disappointment. You know, I'm saying, you know, because You know, like John John John is that John is a warrior, right? He is a he is a football warrior. He would never turn it down. But when injuries happen, and they happen in football if you play football long enough, the right way you will get injured. Okay. I'm gonna say that again. If you play football long enough the right way you will get injured. And certainly John Elway play football the right way, and he played it for a long time. So when he got injured, it changed who he was as a player. And even though um, I want him back. I wanted him back for another. Another year or two. I thought we could have three Peter with John But he understood how to deal with those injuries. Much like Peyton was dealing with. It is interesting because a guy like that, and I think Peyton falls into the same category as John did. When they finally did walk away from the game and retire. They at least had the ability to to do it on on their own terms. They didn't have to be carried off the field and say, Hey, that was that was it that was the end of their career because of Of something bad happening to him. You know, like a lot of guys. A lot of guys leave this league because they had an injury that they couldn't come back from. Right. Um and and you know, it's your body is your tool, right? And eventually your tool breaks and when they're two breaks, you have to. You have to leave. And I just remember Peyton going through his last year here with the Broncos and how painful it was to watch that divorce happened from the Denver Broncos because I think they wanted to move on. Okay. I just think they wanted to move on. And go to Brock, Osweiler and Brock surprised everybody by signing in free agency to go to the Houston Texans. Nobody thought that broke would get the money that he got. He got the bad. Nobody got the bag. Nobody thought that he was going to get the money and I thought they just wanted to move on. And just let Brock have the team and and I think they were trying to say the Peyton at the same time, because remember earlier in that year, they asked Peyton to take a pay cut. The first time in his life. He took a pay cut. He earned it all back, but I think that was the beginning of them saying, Hey, we're going to move on. But Peyton finish like a champion on top, and he got a Super Bowl ring and his last game. So it didn't work out. You know, it's almost you know, it's almost Bitter sweet the way it happened because you got to know the end of workings of what they were trying to do. I will tell you and for Broncos fans to know, man. Alfred was not happy that that Elway didn't come back that last year because he thought they could have done I really thought we could have repeatedly come back, but I knew I saw him in the training room. It took him ten years from the he signed with tna to get to wwe like officially put out a roster somewhere and and according to legend he was someone that was recommended to vince. It's just like you know the pattern. You know the wrestling pattern in general and just get frustrated. Amber moon always seems to be in that position. But that's what it is now. I feel like she came in from being new. An amazing to being veteran. Who makes people look amazing. An totally skipped over the pot in the middle way. She gets to look amazing. You know i. I think there is an issue that a lot of people have and it's not something that isn't overcome those my opinion as as a fan is that the personality doesn't match the persona so who she is in between the ropes has nothing to do with who she is when she puts her mouth on a microphone. Talks words bailey. Was the same problem. And then she turned heel and now she's found in another level. It just takes time. It took her. There's two other guys here. All the trucks and we're all drying off our trucks. And I'll send I look and I'm like, Hey, I just went over that. And I'm like, Oh, it's starting arranged to go back in the dude. The dude who's next to me goes, It's raining. He takes us tells he throws them in his truck and he rips out of that place. And I did the same thing. I just I ripped out of there, and by the time I got home, I didn't like it and re wet my vehicle. So I Dried it up in the garage, and it's because of that, that it is going to rain today. It's going to rain. It's 100 is just the way it's gonna go. I think it's gonna rain, but because of the rain on Saturday, I did. We had that break between Friday night in Saturday morning when it really was going to kick in again. And, uh, you know, I take it back. I did it on Sunday. The break between Saturday's rain in Sunday's rain. I went out there and I threw down a bunch of fertilizer, so and then it rained for two days. It's like a I don't know why they call it that. But it's almost like when you're doing copper and things like that. You have to believe it just pride and heated up. And once they saw him doing all that it was like, uh, no in. That's so close that gas line. That's what that's somebody that that's when you hire somebody and say Um, we're gonna have to.
