Would you put that extra $5 on the gift certificate or something? Right, And they end up in a shoe drawer shoebox somewhere tucked away and you never look at him again. Basically, this says I don't have the money right now. See these people they Theo? Yeah, I don't have a gift right now. I have a car. That card is kind of like what? I really don't know what to say. The people are exceptional over there. Um, they have some of the off this stuff. You can't find anywhere. She just likes having him around the house. They're specially Couldn't that's good? Yeah. You couldn't get him every day, so hopefully, folks get out there and, you know, I hear sometimes I hear these like Here. These love experts and you know, especially this time. Yeah, thanks. And that's been the beauty and that's and Joe. That's the plus side to this is that I think through all this insanity that we saw more people are somewhat coming around to, I guess, understanding paying attention. I mean, I look don't get me wrong. I love my government teacher in high school is my favorite teacher. By all means. Oh, yeah. I had a great civics class, so I didn't have civics. We didn't have it. We just had government. Yeah. Yeah, it wasn't called Civics. That was something else, but it was basically that Yeah, well, he and there were things that I probably should have paid attention to. Of course, we all know that Fizer announced that their vaccine proved to be more than 90% effective. We'll take a deeper dive into that and have some questions answered and look at the latest on that vaccine. I think what that would all be welcome for us. I spoke with Some local health care workers on the front lines of all this earlier this week, and it looks like they've been there kind of under the assumption that they could receive this vaccine as early as January, if not late December. And so here locally, that's awesome News. Yes, it is. That is awesome. Doesn't get get that in the hands of these these, You know, I love what I'm seeing on social media. To that. There's this resurgence now of support for our frontline workers, The nurses the doctors again, It seemed to wane as things calm down, And now that things are picking back up, people are now appreciating those nurses and doctors and all the health care workers even more now. Because they're starting to become overwhelmed again. Yeah, And you know what, though? I think the The biggest show of respect for the nurses and doctors would be not to overwhelm the hospitals. Take the precautions where your mask social distance Amen. All that stuff so they don't have to be respected in this manner ever again. A man Joe Amen. Dad told my son and I'm not one to get crazy about all this stuff. And you know, I'm kind of watching the numbers. And it shows you exactly what you're talking about, Joe. Yeah, you're testing more, but If there are more cases. I was in my local grocery store last weekend, and about 1/4 of the people weren't wearing masks, and they're like, Well, Kroger shouldn't let him in. We'll start programs job. They don't get paid enough to tell someone you got to get out of here. They were one and then they pull it down the minute they walk. Yeah, they? Yeah, Exactly. I got some leave your mask on. We'll get into some of that discussion with Will Clark and some of the issues facing the city now, and I think we're in this protest thing for quite a while. And and that's okay because emotion creates emotion, and at least people are having discussions now on all sides of the coin, so we'll talk about that. And It is interesting. I was talking with Lamont Washington from the L A p D off the year. He called in Friday yesterday to talk with Tony and I said, It's just interesting when you watch the news cycle flow. I mean, we go from the protest. Then we go to the cove ID stories, and it's been the two predominantly big stories in 2020. I guarantee you at one point we are going to look back on. 2020. We're gonna go How the heck did we do that? It will be normal at some point again. I hopefully 2021. I hope you're right, Joe. I really do. And I don't know when that's going to happen. None of us know when that's gonna happen. But we certainly this will be one when our kids have their kids they'll talk about and they looked back. Having gone through taken 2021 day at a time, eh? Mention the only way to do it that you're exactly right. That is great advice. All right, let's get on to some sport, shall we? Before we get to Bottom of the hour News, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association holding its July full Board of Control action meeting yesterday, Commissioner Julian Tackett going say we're playing this fall. I know it's gonna look like but he says they're playing this fall, he said Practices will not begin at their normal time. Instead, limited voluntary workouts will be Just six hours per week per athlete. It'll continue until it least August 2nd. That's when the K H A will consider its next step. Next steps commissioner attack it, though. Reiterating the task at hand for not only his folks, but everyone involved. We have got to continue to preach the message that it doesn't matter your personal thoughts. We need to do what we can to blunt this virus if we can. And that may mean doing things we don't like doing. It may be getting involved in political arguments, but it doesn't matter. We'll fight about it later. Well, look, we'll let people decide after we're gone if we made the right decision, Amen to that. No doubt about it will continue to follow that story. And obviously after they meet next will bring you all the details from that as well and historic knighted Kentucky Speedway last night, where Austin Cindric has swept the Xfinity Siri's at Kentucky Speedway dominating the 300 mile race. Cindric lead twice for 130 laps in his number 22 Ford Mustang. He becomes the first driver to win back to back races in the same weekend at the same track since Richard Petty did it in 1971. And they're just getting started at Kentucky Speedway as we talked with Will Clark. It is the General Tire 1 50 Artists series that will take place today to 30. Our own. Will Clark, after he's done with us is going to head up to Kentucky Speedway to cover that. Then, of course later tonight, it's the gander, RV and outdoor truck series in the buckle up in your truck to 25 featuring Louisville's own. Ben Rhodes, who, with another top five, finished two weeks ago at Pocono now sits second over on the point standings. I had a chance to sit down with Ben. Last. We can talk a little bit about coming home to Kentucky. I saw my very first NASCAR race at Kentucky Speedway in it was a truck. Great. Bring it all full circle. I got my second ever NASCAR wind at Kentucky speedways. It's just come full circle. To me. It's a place of memories at the place that I walk into every time and I get this big breath of fresh air of history. No one that I started racing Kentucky Speedway back in 2010 or 2011 and how many years I've been doing it nonstop. It's just home for me. And of course, tomorrow it's the grand finale at 2 30 with the Quaker State 400 presented by WalMart, three time and inaugural. Quaker State 400 winner Kyle Busch has the pole, but it's also a homecoming for Louisville native in Saint Xavier High School alum Chris gave heart He's the crew chief, of course for Denny Hamlin and the number 11 FedEx Toyota who won it all last year. The NASCAR serious championship and, well, what would a win at Kentucky Mean forgave heart Faras winning at Kentucky? It would. It would certainly mean a lot. My roots of Kentucky Speedway really go back to the old Louisville Motor Speedway back in Louisville, where I grew up just four minutes down the road from in the ownership that on Louisville when that track closed down was Bill Kentucky Speedway, and it no longer is in that ownership group. But I know the lineage from from a child, So when I go back there every time all of that is tied together in my memory. And definitely makes a little bit different racetracks and all the rest for me, and I also had a chance to ask Chris does he still stay in touch with his friends and family at ST Xavier? You know, I do a little bit Alumni association did a story on me last year that I thought was incredibly incredibly flattering. I don't view myself is any different than anybody else that came from there, But apparently they cared enough to write up really nice article on me, which was awesome. So great to see this community tied into the race game. No doubt about it should be a lot of fun over the next couple days at Kentucky Speedway. There you go. You have today with sports Now at news radio, 8 40 W. H s coming up. 7 35 We'll chat a little bit more than 7 45 What would you do if you got a bill for, say, two or $3000 for a covert test? It's actually happening. We'll tell you why it's 7.
