"Wilson showing up and playing in a game where he had every excuse built in not to play against the Jaguars because oh my hamstring hurts and everybody says he does things only to look good. So that's what I said. And pointed out that I was caping for us. I'm not picking Denver. I'm taking Jacksonville in this game, so we need one more. For you, I hope it's just by one point. He doesn't have any money. I don't have any more. I mean, look, if it's 1430 one, is that it? Yes, that's it. Anyway, Denver covers. Two and a half. There you go. All right, sneaky games. I want to thank Josh gad. That was a lot of fun. I also want to thank Ashton Kutcher for calling in. That was a lot of fun. I appreciate you arranging that TJ have a good time in the barn. And I want to thank Joe Hayden. He might not, but I don't think Joe Hayden for coming in. So to play us out, I mean, my God, was that staying to play us out? I'm still planning to do something. Mike just wants to get out of here and go to his Friday night music show to play his new Josh gad drop. Exactly rich. See? You got Josh gad's last moment ever is Olaf because he said the words warm nuts. These nuts. That's it for us. We're wrap up this show on the Roku channel. Don't miss the way I do that next. Hey Jen, let's talk Halloween for a second. What is your favorite Halloween memory? One time I saw a Nightmare Before Christmas performed live at the Hollywood bowl. Walking with your kids. It felt so magical. And after they've got their candy and they walk away. So pure. The dad inside the house is handing you a beer. My dad when I get home, he would have me empty out all the candy to make sure that it's safe, and it wasn't until I was about 35 that I realized, what the? He was just eating my candy. Rude. What's your favorite Halloween costume? One year I was Matthew McConaughey's character from days to confused. One year I was like, I would like to be roadkill. How long costume was a plastic smock? And then they really scratchy, plastic mask. I mean, you would style if you had one of those Aquaman, the plastic mask cutting into your eyes, and then you get that little hole in the mouth to breathe through all night long. What's your favorite Halloween candy? What's your fave candy, handy? Rhymes. Anything Reese's Snickers bars. It's all the food groups. The meat. You've got caramel. Yes. Candy corn. Me too. Wait, really? I'm one of the small percent of people who actually really enjoys candy corn. It gets a bad rap.

"You have anything you wanna say about just a Joe Hayden's influence on your life? It's a size 13. And I love Joe. What he influenced your foot size? What are you talking about? To become a better human being. Just by being in this presence. Chris, what do you got? Shout out valley. Size 11. Oh my God. Instantly. Your shoe size as much shoe size. Huh? 11. 11. Levels. That's gonna work out for you. You might get these on my feet. I'm ten and a half, but I'm like Durant. I like a little bit larger. Okay, for sure. You're two side kind of. That's how KD and I are one and the same. Just make sure you stay back to three. So I get the one extra point. Is it too soon? I think it's too soon to make those jokes. Who's the best team in the league right now through 7 plus weeks? You didn't stutter. I did not settle the eagles. Why do you say that? I mean, they have everything. I think the one thing that I'm faulted because I didn't know what Jane would hurt really was going to do. You know what I'm saying? I didn't know if he was going to be a real legit quarterback. I mean, I love to do the death he was a winner. You know what I'm saying? Wherever he played, but now I mean, they have everything. They have AJ Brown. They just keep stacking up and have Darius slay. They have Bradbury. They have my boyfriend from Florida. We are Chandler. I mean, a gardener. You know what I'm saying? They just keep stacking up and they're loaded and they seem hungry. They seem like they're not worried about what nobody else is talking about. They just want to go out there and win. Well, I mean, in the front office, then says here's Robert Quinn. That's what I'm saying. I can't loading up with talent and players at me. And the dudes are all ballers and hungry and they, I don't think they have too many no, I don't know if anybody want a Super Bowl on that team. So they really want to go get it. And I think they see the opportunity. And by the way, did you hear the details of the Robert Quinn trade that it was the eagles cough up before? They still have 6 draft choices next year anyway. They cough up a four and the bears pick up 7 million of his remaining 7 and a half $1 million salary. The bears pick it up and Robert Quinn for his, I guess, disruption to go from a three and 14 to a 6 and 14, they lopped off the last two years of his contract. He's now a free agent. And you think he's going to be balling out or what? If he could put it on tape, which 18 and a half sacks last year, one would think he can. Go von Miller. To be and that's the analysis that my first thought was, it's just like what the rams did last year. At von Miller, von was the actual free agent. They lopped off the last two years of a deal and said, at least shooting for the moon. I think he's going to show up in the locker room and then we had Brian Dawkins on yesterday, the thing he said he loved about it was competition. That Brandon Graham is now going to say, okay, you're here. I'll just up my game up too. And they'll go sack for sack and it'll be the opponent's problem. Yeah. Oh my gosh. But I heard that today. And I'm like, that is another way to just motivate a team in a locker room. You don't think the bills that were the best team in the world right now? It's those two teams. Those two those two those two. I think they face each other who wins that game. Joe Hayden. I think they're basically kind of evenly matched with like yeah, you're right, you're right. I don't need to put you on the spot. I know it's amazing to see me a pair of shoes. You're correct, but I think if I had to choose, I would go with the bills because I think Josh Allen is just the suffering factor. He's unbelievable. Yeah, both of those teams are completely stacked, but the leaning thing would be. But do you like the eagles though? I love the equals. I love the equals and I love what Jalen hurts is doing with the team. It looks like that's what's happening right now. It really does. And so I can't wait to see you and your family on Monday night. You must be really fired up. So who's all going to be there? Any other family members? Oh my gosh, everybody. My mom, my dad, all my brothers, their kids, a lot of my friends, a lot of my friends from Cleveland. So you're plus what? What's the number? It's Joe Hayden plus. Cavs game plus 34. Browns game. 40. So there's gonna be a whole haze. Section. You're gonna see so many Hayden's running around. It's gonna be insane. In 23, Lil Hayden's running around. They've got to be related to Joe. Look at that little Joe work around. So cool. All right. So the Cavs, so if you're in Cleveland, go say hello to the Hayden's. You can't miss them. They'll be 35. Maybe 35. Party of 35. The Cavs game, by the way, very nicely calves to be, oh my gosh. Providing like that. Dan Gilbert, calves, I love them. Well, when you see Dan Gilbert on Saturday, if you do see him, give him a hug because he'll need it because his Michigan state Spartans are about to get hurt. I have to give a murder. Yes. By my Michigan wolverines on Saturday. I don't need that hug. Okay. He'll need it. Tell him it's from me. When you hug him on Saturday night. Right around you. Tip off if you see him right around tip off. That's when kick-off will happen. Okay. So the hug will be your front load the hug. He will need it. And then Sunday is going to be a great just to hang out day, four Monday night. Yes. Great. Joe, you're one of my favorites, man. Congratulations on the whole two month retirement announcement and then traveling around and then your next chapter will no doubt be in the media and I can't wait to be part of that with you as well. Thank you. I appreciate it. You were the best. "The chiefs won a game that was not double digits, obviously they've lost. The last time they did not win a game that again wasn't a double digit win, I am now going back to 2020. It didn't happen last year. They obviously lost some last time they won a game that was closer than I'm still going. I'm still going. I'm still, here it is. Week 8 New England at home. They beat him 24 21 in 2020. That's the last time. Thursday night. This past Thursday night it was a single digit win. Yeah, the Chargers backdoor. I'm talking about the bills. All the time with the author. It's like we're doing what's more likely again. You said you said the chief. Did I say the chiefs? Yeah, thanks. I'm at the bills. My bad. Here we go. Good enough. Hey Miami keeps it close. Chris long will join us on Monday. Once again, it worked so well last Monday. I think we're going to do this on the regular. I love it. "When you were on your date? I was watching TV last night. First half. He looks really good. I mean, he looked nice. I would say the same thing with coach T, we just need to convert on more of those on those third downs. Like going one for 9 is you're not going to win football games doing that. So I think at the end of the day, just more more shorter third downs, completing those and just being able to make drives last a little longer. We can't keep going three and out. Went on first down. I don't think that he was doing too bad. I think coach T is going to do a great job of studying the tape showing that it's a couple little things. You know what I'm saying? I would make that we could have easily still could have easily won that game yesterday, but I think that just like you said, he's not a quick reactor. He's going to go watch the tape, go figure out what's going on. He's going to coach some dudes up crazy. So I believe in coach T, I think that he's got a process and I think that like I said, they're just win third down a little bit more and stop Nick Chubb from running the ball crazy like that. I think it would be a different game. Okay. And I just don't know how picket doesn't wind up in there at some point in time. That's just the way the NFL works, but he's just a different tolerance just runs a different shop. Yes, the Steelers organization is a different organization where the pressure is the pressure from outside. They don't feel that. What's he like with the outside pressures and keeping them out? Close Tomlin is very, he's very self aware and I think he's knows the heartbeat of the team. He's able to talk to us and very transparent, very transparent of like when you didn't perform. So he'll go in there and he'll be on trubisky. He'll be on the line. He'll be on everybody. So you know where you stand and you know that you need to get your stuff going. So I think that coach T is able to just really communicate to all of the players in a way that you hear exactly what he's saying and you know if you're not performing, he's going to be able to switch it up. Do you ever say for work version of a story where he did that to you? Joe, did he ever call you out? Oh, he called me out a couple of times. I think just when with us, it's little people hitting. If you're a cornerback and you're not filling up the gaps, cracking place in, so I think a couple times I might have missed a tackle when it was on me. It's like, Joe, like you literally just put it on the screen. And the thing is about cosine. Diana Scott don't lie. So I know when I messed up, he knows when I mess up. So he'll be able to tell you in front of your peers. So he's not calling you out, but he's kind of like showing you where. This is where you need to be. So you are in probably what? Like your 9 year ten? All of your ten. Okay, you're year ten. You've got pro bowls in your on your resume. And he's showing your tape of you missing a tackle in front of the whole team. Yes. And I'm taking it just because you have to, you know? I didn't make the tackle. I missed it. So you got to be able to literally, you sit down like this, I already know that for sure. That's on me. You got to take it on the chest and make sure, you know, coach she's watching. So do your job and then you'll be fine. If you don't, he'll call you out. So that's the accountability that you hear. Yes. So that's why when he says things like that, he's going to go in there and you're going to have meetings. He's going to talk to Biscay. Like literally in front of the entire team. He's going to talk to any offensive line at any defense alignment that's not in their gap. So it's like each person, he's going to be able to talk to you as a man because he's not lying to you. He's telling you what he wants and what needs to be done. And you know what you need to do. And what happens if a player doesn't particularly take that coaching very well, Joe? Close to he doesn't make threats. He just makes moves. You might not be on the team. Seriously, he gets it done, but that's the truth. That's what you want. That's when he says that we don't like, we like volunteers, not hostages. That's what he means. About Melvin Ingram. And then coach T will tell you too. If you mess up too many times, you like this. If you don't fix that, we going shopping. That's what I'm saying. That's what he says. Yes. The boy shopping. I'm like, okay, that means you're not going to be here. Your seat will be replaced by someone else. Someone shopping. And Nick Chubb is no joke. That's it, right? He's a man. Okay. What do you see when you look at the browns right now when you watch the way that they've played Joe? Because they have a team only meeting on defense earlier this week after what the jets did to them. At the end of the game, just four or 5 days ago. And it looked like there was a challenge that was thrown down that they kind of met. I think last night. When you think? I think they have a very, very solid team. All around. And the offensive line is amazing. A defensive line is amazing. And I think in the league, if you have pass rush and you can control the ball, running more than half the battle. So I think the browns are really good from offensive line perspective, defensive line perspective, and then they have a great running back. So you can control the clock, you can control most of the game. Joe Hayden here on the rich eisen show, and you're a smart man, sir. So when you said earlier that there were only a handful of teams that you were considering to try and maybe give it one more shot for you, you mentioned the two LA teams and obviously that's geographically sound for you and your family. But highly geographically unsound spot from Los Angeles would be western New York and you're like you were going to consider the bills. I mean, they passed the eye test to say the least.

"Show, we've got Joe Hayden sitting here on our program, the 7th overall pick of the 2010 draft. Who did the jets taking that draft Chris brockwood? I found it yet? The jets were dropped at the bottom. They took Kyle Wilson. They're in common to get you. Now they were 29th that year. They had no shot at you. They weren't coming. Who was the tenth? What was the ten bit? Let's see. Tyson lalu went to Jacksonville. He plays with the dealers right now, Ali Wallace. Okay. Earl Thomas went 14th that year. Okay. That was a surprise. That was Pete Carroll's first draft. Remember that? And everybody thought that they would go with what was the name of the safety out of TaylorMade? They thought they were going to go. Because of course Pete would go with a Trojan and instead know he went to with Earl Thomas. A Texas LongHorn everyone was like, okay, Pete's going to shoot it up. This is the one he's going to do it in the NFL. This was the year actually, I think the commish bro hug started. Trent Williams went forth. Okay, we're good. Okay. Number one. So why'd you decide to retire? Joe? Man, I didn't have, I didn't plan on it. Honestly, I was training. I was working out this whole off season, ready to sign one at the time with a contender. I wanted to either play in LA because I live in encino or go to buffalo because I really feel like they haven't really, really solid chance to win. So the long I was working out, I was here, my son just started kindergarten and I was working out and then I would go golfing. I was hanging out with my family, and I was kind of just like kind of got comfortable, you know what I'm saying? I wanted to play, you know, but at the same time, they were kind of like offering me league minimum deals and I was like, do I really want to move up, move my family when, at the end of the day, I had a great career, and I kind of got, I was at peace with, you know what I'm saying? It's been real. Do I really want to leave when I got going on right now? And the more and more I thought about it, the more marvel was like, it's been a great run. You know what I'm saying? Just happy being home. Just love being a dad, spending time with my kids that I wasn't able to really do. Taking them to school every day, like, it was just, it was kind of just like, what am I really doing it for? You know what I'm saying? Of course, so you're trading in the huddle for circle time. Huddle

"He's supposed to be the secondary guy. He's supposed to be the I don't know, like his secondary coach, right? Now he's a defensive coordinator. And so secondary is struggling. And you just start to wonder what's going on there. Because you think about some of the money spent in the draft capital to fix that secondary it's been good. The Patriots first drive, third and 8, third and 6th, third and 13. Those are get off the field downs. Those are hold to a field goal temp downs. Mac Jones. 16% above expectation yesterday. That was the best rate for week ten. Joe Woods was trying to prove a point late in that game, down 38, 70, he kept his starters out there. And you hate to say this, but I think the browns defensive players quit. And you mentioned Brian horror, marches down, 95 yards on 6 plays. Ugly scene for us. I know we had a good number under 45 and a half in that game. So you weren't really expecting that. Probably deserve better in that game on the total anyways, right, Baker Mayfield on an interception sets up a 5 yard touchdown drive, you get a fourth and 19 midfield go for it late. That was a weird one. Chargers, I don't think there's anybody that identified the issue before us. You honestly, you get full credit. You called for this well, when things were running well, and everyone was ready to anoint Brandon staley, Joe Lombardi and his chargers offense, the greatest thing on the West Coast, since Sean mcvay took over the rams. He said, I'm not quite so sure everyone should be this excited. And over the last couple of weeks, the regression monster has bitten them on the ass multiple times. Through ten weeks right now, we are. Joel Lombardi hasn't adjusted his offense to Justin Herbert skill set. It's like he still thinks he's in New Orleans with Drew Brees. Yesterday against a Viking secondary. That was down two starters. A defense that was down three starters along the defensive line. He devised a game plan where Herbert's average intended pass was 5.7 yards. The offense constantly throws short of the sticks. The receivers are Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Neither of those guys are run after the catch receivers. So you can't incessantly throw short of the sticks as well. The Chargers did. Herbert's completion percentage because of it. 12% below expectation. And I get it to your one. Herbert's learning a new system, more has been put on his plate. Not every player is going to match the scheme you want to run because it is your first year there, and you haven't gotten all the parts that you want? But you are in a position to be in first place in the division. You have to be a head coach. Your garnering coach of the year talk brand staley and Joe Lombardi have to be better. They have to mold their systems to the players they currently have. And that's not happening right now. No, they're going to have to be better this weekend too. An interesting gain that's what goes a long way not only in the division as Kansas City now has moved in to first place, but also as far as the AFC pecking order is concerned. Suddenly, the Chargers and steelers could be two teams vying for that bottom half of the AFC postseason birth and a tie breaking win one way or another will go a long, long way. Steelers. Let's give credit to the lines. Like baby steps, you know, you're on the road as an underdog, dome team and weather. We know golf has small hands. So his history and poor weather conditions is not very good. To me, you saw the fatigue factor. I mean, the Lions were off their bi. They're hungry, the Steelers just had the battle late Monday night. The league did the Steelers no scheduling favors this week in terms of rest and prep. The Lions also got healthier along the offensive line. And that is a unit that is by far and away Detroit's best and when healthy, the lines offensive line can be one of the better in the NFL. They've spent some money in draft capital there, you know? But I've been saying this just about any time we've broken down the Steelers. The defensive line isn't what it once was. You can't let javon hargrave walk. You can't let butt to pre walk. You can't have to it on IR and think you're going to be the same defense up front. The secondary couldn't afford two key contributors, they let guys like Hilton walk. So pass Joe Hayden in Fitzpatrick. There's not much there. And Fitzpatrick really isn't willing as I alluded to to be like the most versatile guy. So safety is one of the most valued positions in the NFL, and suddenly you've got a guy sitting back. And Joe Hayden is good as he is. He's 32. So there are some serious holes on this defense coming into the week. The Steelers were 19th in defense of Russia efficiency on first down. The rest advantage for the lines. The O line getting healthier for the Lions. And that being Detroit spec unit against the defense, it's been pushed around up front and first downs, you can kind of see how that transpired. But to your point, Jared Goff wasn't a threat to throw it. There aren't really great receivers. Let's load the box and force some things. I do think right when you have those weather conditions and you're a defensive guy trying to hold up at the point of attack, the offensive line might have a little bit of an advantage there. That probably played a role as well. But all in all, there's a lot of factors on why the Steelers defensive front wasn't the best against the run yesterday. And I'm not going to allow the Steelers offense to skate either. I know mason Rudolph is out there. You weren't sure what to expect. A nice opening drive to go up 7, nothing. But you also can have a veteran receiver who's supposed to be your number one and Deontay Johnson fumble the football and over time when you're in plus territory, pat fryer moved coughed one up as well along the sidelines. One thing I will say though, and it's a friendly reminder, all of you are loyal listeners. If you guys haven't subscribed to the bet the board newsletter, you'd have been sitting pretty with a Jared Goff under two 50 and a half passing yardage ticket that you'd never had a sweat from start to finish as a partial position. So a reminder that there are plenty of ways to get bet the board content. Not only are podcasts on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays, but the articles that were there that highlighted the Detroit Lions is a market move. And of course, the newsletter that gave out the golf prop under passing yards as well. Anything else pain that stood out to you in a negative manner before we decide to eviscerate a potential starting quarterback in Denver as my loan consideration for the ugly category this week? Nope, I will let you lead that charge. You actually texted me and I had to go back and watch it. In real time I wasn't quite sure what transpired at the end of the third quarter when Darius slay picked up a fumble on fourth and short, was dancing around the effort from Denver. I thought the play had been whistled dead. And there's Darius slay dancing down the sidelines and you send me a text and I'm paraphrasing here, I believe it. Well, teddy's not gonna like the way that looks on film. And I'm thinking to myself, what the hell is pain talking about? Teddy didn't do anything there. It was a fumble from the running back. Philadelphia, ice is the game going up 27, 13 and it's all she wrote, well I went back, watch that play. Teddy decided to make a career move, and a body preservation play when it came to not doing anything to try and slow down Darius slay as he's racing through that Denver offense to the House for an 82 yard scoop and score. I'm convinced teddy Bridgewater all he had to do was lean over, and he could at least redirected Darius slay off his path..

"But I will tell you this. If Greg Russo looks like he did in training camp and preseason, I don't want them rotated Greg Russo on the field as much as possible sale. I look at the other side Pittsburgh We were talking a little bit about the game plan. We saw Dallas run on Thursday night, where they decided to basically go after the only weakness. I think if you look at Tampa Bay's defense, then Sean Murphy bunting getting injured, they challenge their depth right away at corner. I said this, Jeremy. I know Joe Hayden. He is on the last 18 19 games of his career. There's not a ton left in the tank for Joe Haden. Who is behind him like they got rid of Steven Nelson. They got rid of their other Mike Hilton, like they don't have at least my knowledge, a group of corners that I believe can keep up with this group of bills receivers, especially if they're going to be rotating them in and out there going to be fresh throughout this game and the different packages that Brian Tables give me right if they get for receiver sets out there today. That. I mean, that is advantage bills all day. So would you like me to tell you who's listed on their depth chart behind us? This would be this would be an enlightening experience for me, and I think many listeners and viewers on stream yard Okay, so they have Justin Lane cornerback. Do you know much about Justin Lane? No, I know that that sounds like a name. That's real, all right, And they also have on the opposite side. James Pierre like these are the backups to starter Cameron Sutton and starter Joe Hayden. All right, um, in the secondary, look, make a Fitzpatrick is awesome. All pro natural Adams. Obviously we know who he is, but you know who's behind them at safety, A rookie a rookie named Let me get his first name here. Make sure Trey Norwood trainer was a rookie safety. So They? They have some questions some questions at depth in the secondary and I agree with you. I don't think Joe Haden is quite the level of player he was when he was going to Pro Bowls. He's is he lost that team. Supposing, number one is that well? Well, the heat Their defensive, according to Butler was asked about that this week and he said, I'm not going to tell you what we're going to do, but we will have a plan for Stefan Diggs. They better. I mean, not many teams didn't Yeah, no, That's the thing they did have plans first founded the next wouldn't work out. 80305 50. You can join us. You know, we talk about the Steelers Najee Harris. The Bills run game is Devin Singletary going to showcase? What's different about his body is what everyone has said is different about people. People have a lot to say about the changes he made. And he talked about, you know, in the off season having goals, the team asked him to do some things as trainer. They're watching this film all this like, will we see Singletary? Get off a little bit with that today. I like to point out Brian Devil's schemes up very favorable looks for Singletary and has his entire career so I know the looks Are there at the lion has to do its part, and then from there, it's on the backs. It's something that I think it's not a weakness of the team. It's a place they could Get a little bit more of an edge more from the backs. The Singletary lead the way with that this year. I think initially he does. You know last night we all do these these radio spots around the country. I'm on Sirius NFL radio late last night, And they specifically asked for a fantasy purpose. Question. The same question. Fantasy purposes, Devin Singletary see the guy. My answer to them was the same thing. I'm going to say everybody right now, which is I think Devin Singletary is the lead back. So to speak. Now, I think there's separation. I think Zack Moss lack of availability..

"So it's going to be. It's going to be an interesting game. I think it's going to be kind of one of those again. Middle the road matchups for the steelers. I think it is going to be a little bit tough though when it comes to running the football but i do think that steelers will be able to throw it a little bit. Because i think there's some question marks in the bear secondary so i think the receivers do well here. Maybe even the tight ends to I think it might be a little bit of a struggle for nausea but will just have to wait and see again offensive. Line is good for the steelers. They're going to be a good team. I really think that's what it depends. That really is what the season's going to hinder on the offensive line. Because what i saw from. Ben in the preseason. I think really showed you something. I think he's motivated. I think he's going to go out there and he's going to have a pretty good season. It's just the offensive line is going to be the problem. If the steelers don't have a good season that's because the defense is going to do good that events going to keep them them games always as long as they don't give a big plays you know that the secondary in the offensive line. Those are the two major problems. I think with the steelers so yeah i think that if they can hold up against his bears pass rush. Benzine have good game here. It's moving onto week. Ten they take on the lions. And i think that is a very favorable matchup. I think they'll do more of the same of what they did. In the week. To preseason game i think that they will do very well offensively. I think nausea has a good game. The receivers have good games. I think ben has a really good game all around. Good game for the offense and definitely start the steelers defense against the lions because the lions offense is not going to be that good. Jared goff struggled against the steelers defense when he was a member of the rams and i expect him to do that again. As a member of the lions now they are a inferior team to the rams so very positive match-up across the board for the steelers so moving onto week number eleven. They go to la to take on the chargers on sunday night. This is gonna be a tough match up here. I think for the defense. I do think that herbert's gonna portable outta points in this game. I know that herbert's offensive. Line is obviously going to be improved. I think that they will be able to somewhat minimize the steelers. Pass rush also think. Herbert can take advantage of the secondary. Obviously minkah fitzpatrick back there. So you have to be careful in. Joe hayden is still a respectable player. But i do think that the charges will put up points against the steelers defense. Maybe the steelers isn't the best play that week. Not on the other side. I think again all depends on the offense of line and all depends on how the chargers defenses. They were not a good run team last year so if they don't improve their i think nausea has a good game here and you know we'll have to see what the secondary is like. I think that you know the the team is going to be better. This is going to be a playoff team. Derwin james is coming back. They drafted asante samuel junior. They got chris harris back there. So you know secondary is going to be respectable and you know i. I think it's going to be a little bit. Tough for the steelers offense but i think they could definitely put up some points here I don't expect to have a future performance here. I think he does. Okay i think the receivers do okay. But i don't expect anybody to go off in this game for the steelers other than maybe nausea. So that's my thoughts on that game moving onto week twelve. They go to cincinnati to take on the bengals now the last time that they played in cincinnati that was future performance. It was on monday night last year and they played really bad now. I don't again. This is late in the season. So i talked about the wear and tear cannon happen or will it happen. It is definitely possible but it's just kind of a wait and see approach but you know. I just think that the steelers will be able to. They'll be more prepared for this game. I feel like they'll do well. They're going to put up points of bengals or not that very good of a defensive team on the other side. It's going to be interesting to see how the bengals handle the steelers. Pass rush this season. You know with the supposed better offensive line. Now you add some more weapons to the offense and hopefully joe. Borough is back healthy. But i expect the steelers defense to do. While the bengals swelled. Joe struggle against the steelers defense. The one time he did play them last year. So i kind of expected to be more of the same if the bengals offensive line hasn't improved. So you know more of the same from the first matchup so Yeah that's my thoughts on that game moving onto the next match up. You got the baltimore. Ravens come into heinz field to take on the steelers. This'll be a four twenty five game on. Cbs both games. I would say we're entertained. At least the first one was very entertaining. The second one was interesting to say the least. It was the wednesday night football game. Yeah i hope that never happens again. But i i'd say the steelers defense is smart. Play i feel like their defense. Plays well very well against lamar. And i feel like it's going to be more the same there. So i think their defenses smart play and again you know the steelers offense going up against the ravens defense. I don't expect anyone to go off in this game. On the steelers side I mean benz. Had you know a lot of success over the course of his career against the ravens. I don't really know if he's going to have his best game here. I think he does all right. I think najji. I think he's going to be the guy that shows are going to try to pound the rock within this game. Because when i look at the ravens i think more about their secondary and their linebackers. You know i don't really. I mean they got delays campbell. There who is respectable you know I just think that they you know their defenses built more. So on their secondary as opposed to their front four. But you know we'll see what happens with that so it's kind of middle of the road match up here for the steelers you know in. Some areas is unfavorable in some areas. Favorable i think the defense is probably the most positive play that week going up against the more and that often so moving onto week fourteen looking at the schedule though they.

"I think that was one of the only by much. Rather the fans. The energy The pre warm ups just having the people out there. I mean it's during a preseason just reminded me just having it during the hall of fame game just being out there that how much fans believe brings to the game you know just having a mighty silicon performing like it is what it is like you obviously will. They weren't there. It's a business you're going to make sure your take matters you perform because this is what you use your job your professional but that extra that you get when everybody's out there. They're screaming and going crazy like their blood flow. Mean you can't you can't buy. I think the vet suffered more than the young guys. Obviously because when you're young you still have that you know useful energy like i'm in the nfl in the nfl. The vets guy. I'm bob to run on the energy from getting nice. It's amazing you guys got through there. Is there any wide receivers. That don't get talked about for being as good as they are. Obviously there's the guys that we all talked about but is there anybody that you've got against you you there. There's not a lot of conversation about dude. Dude is a absolute baller. I say well. Maybe i think step on the probably gets his love Keenan island. I think he gives you more of love as far as just up. Top one of the best receivers Days kim allah that. What makes the guy heart is it. The routes is it the size the speed. What is it is a little bit of everything everything everything they making do Outside so i'm covering those x.'s. In if they like la. Julio jones is one of the best for a long time they big strong bass can run. The routes physical is catch point. And we we say we i. It sounds cliche but they can really do all of that stuff. I mean gone out there sometimes. I mean i'm looking like mingka ever. Do you ever watch guys on tv when they're playing and you see them get beat deep and you watch your more grab the old hammy and pull that old. Pat go coming and grabbed on me again ono. That's for sure. I'm not full in that because everybody anybody ever said about his may like it. I like it. You have a favorite interception out evolve. Is there one that you really love that. I think the My tom brady one. That i had with the steelers prior to that was one of them. Assign it no like that. I got i got. I got chance to watch peyton operate for couple of years. You know and i watch somebody walk-ups with the football that they picked off from in that game and ask them. How's this going to go. I imagine if we want you to fuck out. Do i think he signed very nice because it was one of those moments where it was kind of awkward. There's bad guy if he doesn't you know think it was a four seen. Who's a full scene out there. And why those quarterbacks better why are they. Great great quarterback position. Your is like ban obviously is going to be a hall of famer but what separates like like a quarterback. That can really do it. You think pre-snap post that and what's separate what is like what the young quarterbacks what's this graduation. You think trait that. They kind of get as they grow on her. I think the one thing is understanding defenses in in-depth being able to throw people open. I think that's the one part that all great quarterbacks do is a lotta good defenses is a lot of people planning and like blend does but the great ones great great great passes always gonna be great coverage so them being able to put balls. Nba with saying the confidence in their receivers to be imple- catches ball or is going to be out of bounds. Being able to take those. Chances noah matchups sometimes if you are looking out there in a game do ben is the like our. He's on him. I'm gonna go there. You know what i'm saying. It's just sometimes it's that easy that just do a distinction of the game so big so much going on. The great ones are like this. All right matchups ball placement. I'm like that is just kind of seems simple but it would quarterback has so much through the head. They get the thinking about too much last thing here for me. But when you see these quarterbacks and they come in and like pat settling you describe what the great ones do. Can you see that early on from day. One or there are people that earlier this guy is trash and then he becomes an all pro and a like you see big jumps or can you usually tell right away Usually usually it's a pretty quick. The quarter rodney. Mean you're not gonna you're playing this position your entire once you get there what you get to the league in me. It's kind of kind of guiding result. I guess is on quarterback when you play. Would you say you are is on quarterback zone guys the main this dependent on the coverage depending on the coverage. I mostly all the time. When i'm off always have is on the quarterback for the first even man's read three step for the first three. I'm always quarterback on mansell. Okay thank you for your time. Your man you've been awesome. Sorry about that are hey joe. So yeah we're going to let you roll here but it would definitely want thank you guys. Thank you for your time. We appreciate it and you're gonna have a great year. Hopefully you get a big old deal. Get some big time money here coming up shortly right man. You're still doing it. Twelve years in ladies. "Looking at what. The pittsburgh steelers should use their newfound cap space for here in the twenty twenty one season. If you didn't already know the pittsburgh steelers have conferred even more money onto their books by restructuring the deal of steph onto it converting that money newest signing bonus and pushing that cap it further into the future a move that many thought would have happened way back at really at the start of free agency doesn't end up happening until here now in august. So what does that all mean for the steelers salary cap situation. Basically right now they sit at seventeen and a half million dollars cap space however. That really isn't the true number of how much money they technically have right now to. Really kinda break things down that seventeen and a half million dollars. Of course the steelers like to have some emergency spending money to go into the season. It's about five to six million dollars. Kind of goes towards that there also has to be a little bit more money it on the books from that rule of fifty one to the fifty three man roster of course adding two more contracts to that cap number on top of that really. There's a few things. The steelers need to take into consideration as well as building out their practice squad. So all of that will count to roughly around nine and a half million dollars or so so that leaves the steelers with upwards of eight nine million dollars of capable spending money again. Some of that will be kind of eaten up by tj. What extension however and. That's the first thing. I want to talk about the way the steelers new spend this money. Obviously by opening up a ton of cash a lot of people just instantly thought. Oh that's just going to end up in tj watts pocket really. That's not a hundred percent. The case tj water of course on the signing that signing air the fifth year option here in twenty twenty one so basically a new contract really isn't going to change too much of this year's capital his signing bonus could very well Depending on how much of that guaranteed money. Tj watt signs for however. It really shouldn't impact it salary-cap whatsoever really the potential. Here's for the steelers salary cap to kind of shrink but between one to five million dollars kind of depending how it all shapes up but most of the signing bonus money is really going to be stuff that hammers the salary cap in future years so while there will be some sort of impact here in two thousand twenty one especially with the size of the deal. It isn't something that we particularly have to worry about. What basically it comes down to now is the steelers will have about an extra six million dollars that they never have at this time of year and really that number could could grow even more with two pretty simple deals. First and foremost the steelers could create more seller cat by completing the final Salary restructure that they possibly could make here in twenty twenty one by restructuring. The deal of chris boswell which would open up a little more than a million bucks. Every dollar counts of course in the nfl but at this point it really wouldn't make too much more sense other than pushing more money into the future. The other thing the steelers could do and something i think is a whole lot. More likely is a joe haden contract extension and one of the reasons. Why it's more likely is because joe hayden and his agent have approached the steelers about basically putting a contract extension in place to have a deal. That joe haden can ride out the end of his career for and in doing so really. The steelers gained a ton of leverage in this situation because Joe haden saying he wants to retire steelers. The steelers aren't obligated to offer him a ton of money. Of course joe. Hayden is one of the highest paid players at his position in nfl history. So i there's also that sense prop joe hayden would be willing to take a significant pay-cut to continue his career with the block and gold and try to help win a championship for the first time in his career. So the potential is there for that and really if an extension is agreed upon and the steelers turn joins basically what's left on his contract in a signing bonus. The steelers could clear about four million dollars cap space. That hasn't been done yet. But if the steelers are really wanna be big game fishing like it. Kind of appears they are. That's a move. They could definitely consider making as of this moment. The steelers have about six million dollars in free cap space that they don't typically use at this point in the year to sign outside player or make some sort of secondary deal as in a trade. They could open up. Another million bucks by restructuring. Chris boswell and another and another up to four million dollars with joe. Haden sooners potential. The steelers could spend up to a eleven million dollars on outside players. That are not on this team at this current moment. How should the steelers spend the six million dollars or up to eleven million dollars is really. That's a big question surrounding us here. And now because really the steelers never needed to restructure that contract of steph onto to get t g what done so something is coming i. It really has to. Of course his team has been all in on the twenty twenty one season. The amount of void year deals put together Pushing a bunch of joe schubert's money. The newly acquired joe show bert into the future. Really what the steelers are doing is kind of pushing a little bit of the problem into the future but setting themselves up to be a significantly improved team and a team that will make a run at a title here in two thousand twenty one. So they're going right now. They're exhausting every option. They have the money they're going to spend it and really before. I continue on how they should spend that money. I know there's a lot of people saying. Oh maybe the steelers just wanna roll some salary cap over into twenty twenty two but hear me out on this. The steelers warmed to say money in two thousand twenty two. What's the point of restructuring steph onto to begin with by restructuring that money the steals are pushing cap it to next year. If they don't spend it then they effectively really haven't done anything at all. What was the point of all that. The point is to make the team better here in the future and the steelers have a significant amount of cap space. They do not normally have at this time of the year. So a couple moves that kind of makes sense for the pittsburgh steelers. Really you have to look up and down the roster quarterback the steelers have four guys that obviously they're very comfortable with and you're not finding anyone there. The running back room is stock to the gills. As is the receiver. Anti dan room. I thoroughly believe the steelers have trust in their guards and really there isn't any center that's is going to step in and kind of supply kinder- green is the guy especially here now at this point in the year the could be in the market for tackle and of course names will be something we check in a little bit later on the could be in on the tackle market. There are some free agents available such as a mitchell schwartz and they're potentially some guys available via trade so that is a spot to keep in mind defensively. The steelers are loaded on the defensive line. They're loaded on edge. They're loaded inside linebacker now they have one of if not the best free safety in the game and they have one elite corner in the joe haden and outside of that they've had some issues with the other cornerback spot which kind of seems like more of a competition than what we're expecting between camp sudden and james peer aside from that trail edmonds didn't get his fifth year option so potentially the steelers could be looking at to maybe adding to that safety room. Of course the depth spots that safety is not a strength of this team. Special teams wise. I would also say the steelers are quite loaded. So i i'm not. I'm not worried about them. Trying to find another kick returner gun or someone to run down the field. They have more than plenty of those types of guys so really the spots right now that you can kind of hone in on our either tackle spot but more namely left tackle corner and perhaps safety depth because the steelers right now. I think they're quite confident. And everything else they have on the roster but really once again the steelers have a ton of money that they still kind of put themselves in a situation to spend so something is surely coming down the pipeline. We will get into the names of the trade targets. They should be after in the second. Half of this podcast. But we're going to jump into a quick commercial break and we will be back in just a minute so stay tuned for the second. Half of the live mike. "There is an opening at that outside linebacker on the outside linebacker. Outside cornerback position. Can he take that job. And say cam sutton you were signed. But they knew they they're going to use you on the inside. Can he do it. I have to think that some of these players were drafted. Last season are just chomping at the bit to get an opportunity to show extended repetitions. Carla's davis anthony mcfarland. These guys didn't have a preseason last year and so that is going to be big. These games are going to be big. And we're gonna talk about the second half of the show this preseason willoughby a good test. We'll talk about that but let's get into these individuals so i said earlier. I don't think we've learned anything really about the team. But i do think we have learned even in this small sample size a lot about certain individuals and i broke this down four on defense. Four on offense. And i'm gonna just go one by one talk about the player why i feel like we've learned something about it and we're going to hash this out together so to start on defense. Wanna start on defense one of the individuals that i feel like we've learned about is antoine brooks junior someone. I brought up six round. Pick out of maryland. Twenty twenty nfl. Draft and. I have to be honest here. I didn't have really high expectations for anton brooks ginger coming in at twenty twenty one. This is a player that did not make the team out of training camp. Last year he was cut didn't get picked up. They sign him to the practice squad. He ends up getting elevated any sticks with fifty three man roster for the rest of the season but now all of a sudden they have him being the heir apparent their words. The media's words not mine the heir-apparent to mike hilton. He had a tremendous interception earlier in camp of ben rothlisberger. Keep that in mind. It wasn't mason. Rudolph or dwayne haskins joshua dobbs. It was ben in now all of a sudden he did get banged up a little bit on sundays workout. They said it's not serious. He's considered day to day. He should be fine but still antoine brooks junior. My goodness we've learned something about this guy but not just what we've learned about him we've learned about how the steelers are planning on utilizing him. Maybe i never thought as a safety when they drafted him. I was told that he was a box safety. Love to play the line of scrimmage. You did well. I didn't think that he was athletic. Enough to play the slide. We'll see we shall see arthur millette going to get a shot especially if brooks is out for a little bit. So we'll see. But anton brooks we have learned a lot about him as an individual cam sudden. Maybe cam sudden but how the steelers are going to utilize. We know cam. Sudden kim son's a veteran at this point to sign a new contract is second contract in the nfl. With the pittsburgh steelers in terra lawson spoke with media on sunday and he said that the plan right now is for the steelers to keep cam sudden on the outside. That's the plan. He's that kind of change. If there's someone like james pierre or just lane step up then they'll move cam back into the inside. He can play the nickel he can play. Time will see but as of right now that the steelers plan and we've all wondered this throughout the offseason. How are they gonna utilize cam sutton right now. He's opposite joe hayden as the as the number two cornerback or the other cornerback. Maybe don't maybe number one to here's another player on the defensive side of the ball. Roberts splaine now if i were to have written an article. When i didn't do this i thought about it. I thought it was in poor taste. And that's why didn't do it. If i would have written an article that said these and then number say four players. That benefited from the retirement of vince. Williams could have written that article. It would have probably done great and we'd probably a a lot of pages. But i said you know what now vince williams has been good with our site..

"I would read a bunch of his film. Melvin anger is just an edge. Rusher he lines up the interior sometimes on passing down. They've used him as an off all linebacker and he's even had an interception in doing that so that's nothing you'd ask him to do. Like every player twenty snaps the game. But you could rotate him in there and help out in that position he could be part of the answer. And all of that's going to be determined over the next couple of weeks of camp Leading into the hall of fame. Game i think. Then that's when the then we'll see the steelers. Okay who's out there who needs to make a move you know what other team what are other teams desperate for we saw cam acres. He's he's out for the season with achilles injury. People were speckling osceola. Should send betty smell to the rams. There might be a deal like that. In in a whole bunch of other position there might be a team. That's like hey we'll give you such set for jane's washington because our receivers that went down. Those are all things that can play on. That's one thing that i've learned to my time covering and following it studying the steelers don't commit to something or commit to and i did. This is definitely the thing because there's way too many possibilities out there kevin colbert. He keeps all doors open so that he can make the move that he wants to make the pets better organization. All right we got. We got a superstar here. Real quick chris. How do you feel about our defensive backs at this point. Especially at cornerback. I i think steelers. They got a really good situation going on here. A lotta people are sleeping on. 'cause they lost even nelson. They lost mike hilton But this is a. This is a team. I'm higher on joe haden than most people are like. Oh he's gonna fall off that cliff. Joe hayden is not a guy that ever relied on his speed even when he was at his youngest at his best in the league he was a guy that was all about positioning technique. Handwork footwork. Being the smarter guy on the field and winning those battles he still that player. When i see that happen then i'll i'll i'll check it opposite. Okay he's done. But i don't see that happening anytime soon. Four joe joe haden. I actually think he's going to be a guy that can be relied upon Moving moving moving forward. I also see karen sudden. He's a guy that i've been really ecstatic about over the over the past Over the ever since he was a rookie in fact in his rookie season in that same bengals game we. We're talking about a. He took over. Joe haden for a half and had to cover. Aj green and look just fine doing it over the years. He's found ways to make himself valuable. I think he's going to be solid now. One thing that. I keep reminding people about the slot quarterback what about my killed and he did so much i agree. Mike hiltons a favorite people to talk to in the locker room because he was very open. He talked about a lot of technique yet great instincts. He understands football he's a very high q. Are very high. Iq when it comes to football and life things but With mike don't forget he was an undrafted free agent free agent limit when they brought him in. You know he was a guy that they came in and in camp earned his mainstay. That's what they're expecting to come out of Brown a traynor with a james. Pierre was some of those guys are gonna have to step up this year. I wouldn't be surprised one or two of them. Do and don't forget justin lane still out there fighting for his for his nfl career. So there's gonna be a couple of guys to step up there. And i think what makes this a lot better is knowing that you have a makeup fitzpatrick behind you. Terrell edmonds very solid strong safety despite what many people might say but minkah fitzpatrick when you have the best in football columnist shots playing the deep ball back there you as a cornerback. Feel much more comfortable being aggressive playing your role and making plays. I think this is a lot better than people. Get credit for if i can follow up on that You brought up. James pierre and i state that that I know there is a james pierre hype train running pretty seriously around pittsburgh right now i actually after the after the playoff loss i had to do a film on that game and i was like i don't even know what to write about and i ended up writing an article about james pierre as one of the few bright spots that occurred in that game and since one of the things i've been thinking about is he had so few snaps and the season but when you go through and look at each snap. His film is really good like he did a great job in the limited time he played. I'm used to short sample size being like okay. This person put up good numbers good stats in a short sample size. What how do you deal with analyzing a player who was put up really good film in a short sample size. Does that does that translate. Is that going to say. Hey this guy should be this good next year or are there. Are there things that we have to be cautious about when looking at his film and saying wow this did. This kid is smart. He's a good player. I mean you should always be cautious when looking at a small sample size. If he that peyton hillis will be the greatest running back of all time if you remember him from his browns days. That was quickly short-lived But i will say this jean-pierre the things that i saw about him. Good technique was solid following through on basic cornerback fundamentals In those things that that that chat transition into your future and if he can build on that that solid. I can tell you. I watched this man play in. Minicamp granted no pads football in shorts but he was active the hype that you're hearing about it. I was like i chris. Carter was given a thumbs up behind that hype now my colleague. Tony sereno when. We're on the lockdown steelers. Podcast e believes in the james pierre hype train. He's at the official starter of that. He started months ago and he continues to believe that he's going to be the next rod woodson with the running joke there but i do. I do think that he's going to be a better contributor. That people give him credit for This year what's gonna be. Interesting is a when he comes to camp. How consistent is he does. He maintain how he looked at minicamp. Be when he does get in. The game does he. Stick to those fundamentals as you communicate. Well is he on the same page with everyone else immensely. Does he get lost in the sauce when he starts to get more saps. If you see that all those things start to check the boxes he could end up being like you know what when. Joe hayden's done camp sutton might be the number one and he might be the number two and we have no problem with that and that could be the next you know big story of the steelers like hey guys that ford their way forward like vince williams that you didn't you didn't think that they were gonna be a star on your team are consistent starter for you. Know a better part of a decade. That's what he can work his way into. But we have a long before we go there. I liked the fundamentals i see. I like the understanding of the game. That i see..

"Well, very difficult, right? I mean, your risk is gonna have to play the game of his life. My guess is they're going to get Travis Keys. Legs involved quite a bit. That is an asset he possesses. That is tough to defend and It's now or never now, right? I mean, I'm not saying you want to get him hurt, But I'm saying you're willing to take a little bit more liberty a little bit more risk. At this point with him in that regard. The problem is their defense isn't good anymore, Lawrence. I mean, they've just been decimated by injuries in the secondary. They've got young kids that shouldn't be playing. As the nickel back. It's truly unbelievable. I was talking with some people from Chicago about this. I swear the Bears can never get their offense and defense playing well at the same time. Even when Cutler would have those good games or Josh McCown had that stretch. The defense wasn't good, but and when the defense's is awesome and killing people, then the offense really struggles, they can never get those two to marry up together. No, you're right about that, Do you? Ross? Do you think it's fair to have this game tonight between the Steelers and the Brown? It just seems there's no place to put it like you're gonna have a disadvantage to the next team. But it just seems unfair to make Cleveland play this game. Yeah. I mean, I don't have a big problem with it, Um, in the sense that You know, everybody's going under the same protocols, right? And you know the Steelers don't have Joe Hayden. They don't have their best corner. He's on the cobra this so he tested positive He's not playing so They're both missing some people they'd rather have to me. At this point. The covert thing is like injuries. I mean, it's part of it, and unless there's a risk The players being together or playing of further spread. I think they got to move forward, and I know it's not ideal for the Cleveland Browns. But think of it the other way. Can you imagine if they want me? No head coach? No, but Tonio This would be like one of the most legendary wins in Brown's history. If they were able to win anyway, and you know, Baker wants to be a part of that, That's for sure. Ross. I was checking out my front page story dot com And at first I was like, Wait is this Ross's site Because I see like marriages and stuff, and I was like, Oh, he's he's helping people out. So what What made you put my front page story dot com together. Yes. So it's a buddy of mine who had the idea and I'm just kind of helping him spread the word, But it is the single best gift idea that I'm aware of. And look, Valentine's Day's gonna be here before you know it, fellas for the people that are listening. Two things What is to be able to say to your wife? Or your girlfriend or whatever. I had a story written about you. That's pretty much the coolest thing you can say to something when you're giving him against like they'll be like what? You have a story written about me. Yeah, I had the story written about you, and then when they see it It looks Lawrence like it's on the cover of the newspaper. It's framed. It's beautiful. And when they read the quotes when your wife reads the quote from you saying, I just don't tell you enough how much I appreciate everything she does for the family..

"As we will continue to keep you updated on the players who are inactive today because of injuries or cove it or that arresting today this week 17. There are a lot of players. That are inactive today, even though there are seven playoff spot still up for ground play here in weeks, Supercup testing positive for covert 19 Alright Arizona, taking on the Rams, and probably without legendary wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, OK, Mark Robinson Zahra SportsCenter anchor he is reading. We just said Could you just please read the list? Players who are inactive because it's a three hour long list. We'll continue to check back in with him. Pittsburgh will be without cornerback Joe Hayden. Testing positive for over 19. He could miss the first round of the playoffs. Okay, Thank you, Mark. Fucking continue Check back in with him over the next 90 minutes here on ESPN radio. Maybe the court nets will want to do it as well of their three Brits later on today, way know that a lot of players a lot of teams are gonna be without certain players today. Will Philadelphia Eagles be without Carson wins? Moving forward, according to ESPN, Chris Mortensen. Now they surprise. But the report comes out today that Carson Wentz is going to ask for a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, saying that the relationship Is fractured at this point, none of those statements anyone would quibble with at this point. The question is, what do you do with that contract? There are reports out there that hey, if if they trade him They actually save cap space right? Because of the way the finances work. You're actually saving close to a million dollars in cash space. If you know he's not the answer, moving forward or if you've made that decision, then you have to get something for him. Question is, who's going to help take on part of that contract with when you trade him? And how do those financials work? Both sides are going to have to come to an agreement with that. But first they have to come to an agreement of whether or not he is the answer. Whether or not he's the answer for the Eagles, which it appears he is not. And whether or not that situation is tenable, which it appears it is not so the only option right now is to treat It's all very complicated yet trading Training him makes sense. If you can find somebody who wants it. It's not as if he's had this incredible campaign that's made a team like you know, I don't know San Francisco that said they move on from Garoppolo, another team in the NFL. That makes them say, You know what? We should definitely go after Carson Wentz. He's the answer because he's played so poorly, so he put it. He's put himself in a really, really bad spot. The salary cap will take a hit because of the pandemic. If you trade him, it's still a $33 million dead cabinet. If you release him, it's a $59 million dead cab hit. There's got not on your team costing you $59 million against the cap, so there are a number of financial elements in this that they have to figure out. And then where does he go? Because Matt, The bigger question to me is who looks at Carson wins this season, it says. Yes. That's my starting quarterback. If he thinks he's going to just walk into a situation and he's not gonna have to compete for the job, That's where you're gonna have a problem of Carson Wentz because what he's shown over the last three weeks with Jalen hurts. Is that he's going to make a mess in your locker room. If he doesn't get his way. That's the consequence. We're seeing now a guy who was expressing his frustration and thinks that he's still a start in this league, but any NFL team that he goes to will make him prove that and we'll put him up against another quarterback to earn that job..

"Six eastern, followed by Green gets in Eastern Tuesday on ESPN Radio. The FC playoff picture is all over the board at the top. And at the bottom. Still a lot of playoff positions for 2nd 3rd in the bottom five teams for four spots. It's Game day, ESPN Radio Joe for Mom, Byron Metcalf. I met Jones cornerback Joe Hayden. Has two positive for Cove in 19 with the Steelers and will not play Sunday against Cleveland. That's what a source told ESPN Dan Graziano, so he will be out. That game's gonna be a mess in terms of who's playing and who's not. You can tune into football action. Tomorrow's Josh out and the Bills host the Dolphins pre game begins at noon Eastern on most of these ESPN radio stations. Right now, there are five teams in the A F. C for four spots. The all play tomorrow the matchups air Kind over the board. But you have the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans in the Indianapolis Colts. Five teams four spots. I'm not asking you, Joe to predict who will win and to go through all the scenarios. I just want to ask you this. Those five teams who deserves in your mind to be in the playoffs, the least and which one if they got in, could do the most damage. Baltimore to answer the second question first, because that's the easiest of the two Baltimore would have the ability to do the most damage. And I say that with a bit of trepidation because John Harbaugh hasn't won a playoff game since 2012. That's when he won the Super Bowl. That's the last time you want to play off game. Lamar Jackson's also going to in the playoffs, so there's some concerns there. I think Miami while a very nice record at 10 and five and a very impressive season Fred coach Brian Flores is probably the most vulnerable to getting in and immediately getting run out of the building. And no one wants to see that we know Tennessee can compete. So the answer comes down to either Cleveland or Indianapolis as least deserving. And to be honest with you. I'm going to take the Indianapolis Colts who are on the outside looking in. They need to win, and they need help from one of those other teams losing tomorrow. Indianapolis Has two horrific mistakes on their resume this year that I'm not gonna be able to get over last week dunking off that game against Pittsburgh in the second half. You win that game. You are fine. Not only are you find you have the inside track to winning the F C south, and they completely melted down in that game against the team that had been playing horrific football over the last month of the season. In addition to that, the Colts handed the Jaguars They're on Lee win of the season back in week one, and people say it's week one. You have time to rebound. Well, here you are. Indianapolis. You need help to get in because you couldn't get by the Jaguars, the on Lee team in the business, Myron, who couldn't get by the Jaguars. So when you talk about least deserving Indianapolis to Mia's least deserving, and I hate to say it because I really like him coming into the season. Joe, You're a smart man, and I tend to disagree with agree with your takes, but I actually think, least deserve. This is Cleveland Browns, who've been playing triple a ball most of the season and if it wasn't for the Tennessee Titans? Getting into that situation where they were outscored early in the game. We have a different conversation. I think about the Cleveland Browns. It would be a completely different scenario. They had the big lead early. And if he comes on late, they're still win that game 41 to 35. But beyond that this is a team that beat the Giants couple weeks about back just lost to the Jets. They beat Jacksonville in Philly and Houston. Triple A teams for the most part, lost to the Raiders and early November beat Cincinnati got crushed it Pittsburgh. I mean, this isn't a team in the last two months of the season that's been very effective. That matters really done anything to prove that they can compete with the best teams in the NFC In the A F. C S, I would say they're least deserving Baltimore. Definitely most dangerous team Cleveland, the team Cleveland be the team that kind of stumbles into these players. You know what's interesting to me, and it's Game day on ESPN Radio Matt Jones, Byron Metcalf in Joe 40 Ball. So what's interesting to me is that I don't necessarily think Any of these teams couldn't do damage. I actually think that's a double negative, but I actually think all of them could do damage except the Dolphins. The Dolphins. I don't see necessarily winning any of the playoff games because the quarterback situation but I could see the Ravens. I could see the Browns. I could see the Titans. I could see the Colts all of those teams. They're gonna probably play well. They are going to play either. Pittsburgh Buffalo or who? My missing well that will play each other with the winner of the thing. I think all of those teams could beat Pittsburgh or Buffalo Joe in a one game scenario, don't you? Absolutely again. Miami would be the concern. They play very good defense. But I cannot get over the fact that they continue to side with two over Ryan Fitzpatrick, who gives them a better chance to win. Now. Now, I know Fitzpatrick has the covert issue, so he's out for this weekend but in a major city, New York, Dallas, Chicago, any major football town around the country that would be a far bigger story. They're coaching decision with the quarterback situation than it is being in Miami these days could make some noise. I can't help and they've been the butt of so many jokes that I've made over the last 15 years, but I can not believe I can not Sympathize enough with Cleveland Browns fans right now, like you won 10 games clean Pittsburgh, Your opponent this weekend is gonna lay down. Mason. Rudolph, starting T. J. Watts not gonna play. You've got this unbelievable opportunity. Get back to the postseason and now Cove. It is just ripping apart the locker room. The facility. You got problems on the Pittsburgh side. I don't even know where to begin. Handicapping a game like that, Myron. I really don't. But I do feel for Cleveland fans because they're long, long history of suffering should be coming to an end this weekend, and I don't know. Maybe somehow Pittsburgh finds a way to ruin it for him because of the covert issues that have played Cleveland throughout the course of the week. It's a mess, and it's happening again. Usually we've had a lot of scenarios where it was like Monday or Tuesday. You heard about these positive tests, and maybe you could move games around for this to be happening on Friday and Saturday..
