"I could take the loss to Baltimore. I could take the loss to Pittsburgh, barring massive changes needed. However, I simply can not take the loss to the Raiders yesterday, especially after the week they had meeting the Raiders firing their coach Jon Gruden and the loss yesterday being Denver the Broncos losing to the Raiders. Vic Fangio and the entire coaching staff led an interim head coach coming into their building and completely embarrassed him. I just have to ask you who you think would be the best fit for the next head coach of the Broncos because it's gonna be coming sooner rather than later. Thank you. Who's next? I don't know. Hopefully someone who wants to actually drop the quarterback finally. But I don't know. Maybe I was the guy to bring in Aaron Rodgers because Vic Fangio did dominate in Chicago. So maybe Aaron respects Vic Fangio and they trade for Aaron Rodgers. That's possible. I don't know. It's just sad. This is what I want to say about the Broncos. It's sad to see them lose and not win against good for buildings because this roster so clearly has so much potential. And watching them fail is painful. Could we have one, two questions left? With a trade deadline coming soon, how would you feel about a trade involving Jordan love and Joe Hayden? Well, it's highly unlikely to happen. I think it's a move that makes sense for both sides. The packers are in win now mode, while the Steelers, whether they realize it or not, are not in the conversation for a championship. Personally, I'd love to trade. How do you feel? It's a fun idea, Green Bay would never do it. And I don't know that I would do it if I was Green Bay. First of all, you can't trust to Aaron Rodgers won't retire after this year or just leave and abandon your franchise. So if you want a future, you got to keep Jordan love. Jordan love is the backup plan in the future in Green Bay. And I would not trade away my future. And most likely, most likely. More likely and what's more valuable to Green Bay could happen for the Steelers is that I say Green Bay. Yeah, you hear this kind of thing. You think about that injury two to a really second guess? I just think rain I think a slip up of a bad snap, something. Anything could have happened there. But again, fourth and three, the play before it was tipped, jakoby Myers wide open. I think the way they were moving the football, they might have been able to get that first down. Yeah, I think it did. I mean, I think it was a terrific game. In the end, something that probably most didn't anticipate. And, you know, I went out before the game and I was I was sitting in the well not sitting. I was standing in the crowd because I just wanted to take it all in. And you know, so I was out there for the video that they showed and then the box taking the field and it was the atmosphere was great. It wasn't the same. It wasn't quite the same as far as returned to Lambeau. To me. And I think that's a testament to patriots fans that they are and I think it speaks to the other teams in this town, the Red Sox, the bruins, the Celtics. You know, what have you, that these are real sports fans up here who, you know, they're they're serious about their sports and I think that they didn't yeah, Tom Brady meant a lot to this franchise and will for a long time. But I think they're more about the on field product and I think they were I think they were eager to get past all the Brady drama. And I thought that to have a game like this, I think, was a good way to sort of cleanse the palate and sort of move on. Greg, in your opinion, who is the best quarterback on the football field? Who played the best? Yeah. Mac Jones. A little question. I mean, look, it's hard. It's hard to really definitively answer that because they play two different offenses and you're going against two different styles of defenses. I mean, I thought it was a I thought it was a complete joke, and I don't know. I wasn't watching that closely enough turned a game to see if this was throughout the contest, but I know certainly late in the game, the bucks are playing and I know they've done this all year. I know they play a lot of man to man and they'll send an extra guy. I understand that. But to play man to man with Richard Sherman out there who was playing Xbox a week ago, who, even when he's in shape and ready to go, can't play man anymore has never been able to play man. That's not to know what they did in Seattle, and to ask him to cover like Kendrick born on crossing patterns. Was a joke. And their scheme has always been talent dependent. So I think like most of my answers when you ask me Joe, there's no definitive, it's not black and white. It's not. Like, could Mac Jones have have what he had performed as well with the bucks? I don't think so. For some of the reasons I talked about for some other reason. So look, do I think Mac Jones outplayed Tom Brady tonight and gay and was more important to his team? Yes. Do you think though that his night is maybe been overrated? Because look, I thought it was really good tonight, considering the spotlight, the situation, the spot overall, but do you think that he left some plays out there? Do you hold onto the ball too long? It was he responsible for some of the sacs that he took. I didn't see that. I mean, did he leave some plays on the field? Yeah, sort of Brady. I mean, that happens in every game to every quarterback. And, you know, so I have not been alarmed at this point about Mac Jones leaving plays on the field was hunter Henry open here in the end zone. You know, before they had to settle for a field goal, yeah, probably with Mac Jones was also running for his life. But I think when you consider the circumstances of the game, the weather, the sort of all the issues that were going on in the offensive line. Let's not even forget that basically Micah winning got benched. You know, during this game, to let alone with Isaiah win could barely block anybody. And the right tackle issues. And for Mac Jones to take the beating that he did, I think he played really, really well. And I don't think I don't think it's hyperbole or hyping him up to say that he did really well in this game. Yeah, I was just going to say, and we'll get into a lot of the other stuff that happened tonight, but moral victory. Is that how you're looking at this one? Or do you think this is one that could hurt them later in the year? Yeah, I know there's some talk about that. But this is the way I look at it, Joe. I don't. I'm not going to look at it in context of one and three in their own three at Gillette. All right? We all know that they screwed the pooch in the first three games of the season. We know that. It's a given. I'm just going off of tonight. Tonight's tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the defending Super Bowl champions with all the issues that the Patriots have had in the first three games. They button things up in good measure and a lot of areas. And to me, this was a giant step forward for this team. I wrote that if the Patriots played well and defeat in this game, it could be similar to the Giants when they came up here and went toe to toe with the Patriots in 2007. That this could be the game that sort of galvanized this team. That really, quite frankly, and we've talked about it, you know, these guys don't know each other. They haven't been together. I think a lot of I think a lot of people on this team earn their patriot stripes tonight. I think they became patriots. I don't care if people want to turn that a moral victory or what have you. All I know is what I could tell you. The New England play tiers played the rasses off tonight. They played well. They played better than they have by far in any other game this season, and there's a lot of season left. All right, potentially a springboard game for the paths coming up here. "It just doesn't happen so for me. I think to me it. Lines up with the addition of terrel austin the change in how the steelers use the secondary a secondary scheme that is much more designed to fit talents of the players. Then here's the scheme we ryan. You guys need to find how you fit inside the scheme. It's more we fit the scheme to the players. And now you start recruiting players drafting players. Who have already played those roles. And it's gonna work. Hopefully i'm right and this is a trend. we see. this isn't just you know they liked train. There would and he happened to work out right away. I i am very positive about the steelers future ability to draft cornerbacks with tara lawson keys butler in doing the defense together. I think it's fantastic. I i hope they stick around. I really hope we can keep both of them. And keep this going. Need to move on and coverage cam. Cover cameron sutton cameron's sutton just had a redemption game in two thousand twenty cameras sutton was forced to come in against the buffalo bills and start for joe haden. That's not a rule. He was used to write the bills. At halftime move steph on digs across the field to to go against cameron sutton and digs beats the snot out of mute talking about an all pro having the best season of his nfl career. And you're talking about cameron sutton. Who's a dime back and coverage specialists. Who is stepping into a role in matchup. These not ready for. He hasn't been training all season to be an outside cornerback. He's been training and practicing to be better in his role in his coverage specialist roll deep zones. Picking tight ends moving around all over the place as diamondback. His technique wasn't on point for an outside cornerback because he wasn't playing outside. Cornerback so the second half they move stuff on two cameras inside. They take advantage. They beat the snot out of him with digs. And that was really a turning point in the game. Now in this game sutton wasn't perfect. But he was all over the place early on he was helping norwood covered digs. He was making tackles in the backfield. I gotta bring this up because care had to legitimate tackles for loss in this game by legitimate. I mean last year cameras recorded a sack in a tackle for a loss one was a receiver caught the ball and fell down. Behind the line of scrimmage and cameron sutton to hand tapped him on his shoulders to record a for loss he got a sack because a quarterback was running out of bounds scrambled out. You know, like it's an experience. It's It's um it's just great and to have Sunday will be It'll be the best day of the year. It will be the best day of the year to have everybody there. I'm not going to go on and on about the nineties because I'll just bore people to death. But for me last season I got here in 89. There was Rob, who called us. I apologize if I got the name wrong. I got here in 89. Okay, so I got here as as things are really cooking or beginning well, After 89, But I thought last year Jeremy reminded me. I kept wondering, Is this what it was like? And like, maybe the couple years prior like 86 87. Okay. Kelly finally comes out of the USFL. You know, polling in this year they bring in Marv. They're not winning yet, but they're putting the pieces together. They got their franchise quarterback They got there. They already had their receiver. They had their stud defensive player. Oh, my gosh. They traded for Cornelius Bennett. They draft Thurman Thomas and then to me, I felt like last year, I wondered if that was like it felt to be a bills fan in 88 where you knew something. They win the division that year. Uh and they go to the championship and they lose to the Bangles. Now it doesn't go well. The next year they get bounced in the wild card, and then we know what happened. So I thought to me I didn't experience that. Yes, experienced the Super Bowl years and I mean I can't tell you how much fun that was. I hope that happens again. So with a win so people can experience that, But I thought I wonder if this is what it was like when you were there. You saw developing. You're there on the ground floor. I come to town. They're good, but to be there at the start when they go from two and 14, 2 and 14, 4 and 12, I think in Kelly's first year And then 87 was a strike year and then you win the division and you tear the goalpost down like that. Must have been a really cool feeling. I think that was last season. I'm guessing for a number of people. Um, either you go through it again. Or I think this is what it would have been like you feel We're on the brink of something special, and this is going to be for a few years. This is not a fluky one year thing. Right, GM, Right coach, Right quarterback, Right Players, talented roster. Uh, I did some research here because I think you would want to talk about I'm guessing you're talking about Hey, throw the ball bills, uh, passing game Briand able, utilizing that attack that philosophy from last year Josh Allen, the deep weapons against a secondary at least the corners where you surely can, I think have a big edge in the matchups on Sunday. So remember, the Steelers lost Mike Hilton in the off season. They lost Steve Nelson in the off season. Joe Haden's Their number one cornerback. Probably not going to be able to cover Stefon Diggs. Uh, Cam Sutton is okay. He might be a slot guy on the nickel, but their depth at cornerback is very suspect Good at safety. Especially Minka Fitzpatrick, but depth at quarterback very suspect and I would think there's going to be a lot of trouble for Pittsburgh to match up with the depth of the Bills wide receivers on Sunday. I'm not telling you anything that Brian Table doesn't know already, by the way, but yes, throw the ball. Um, make sure Josh is protected. You know, you got to worry about what Uh, Melvin Ingram is on the Steelers now this season. Um, they don't have stuff onto it. That helps, but they have a good front seven. But I think you can take advantage of the matchups with your receivers in this game plan against the Pittsburgh Steelers secondary on Sunday, which again is not a big surprise. No one expects the bills come out and try and run the ball. Right? Why come out and establish the run? I just if they were going to do that, maybe they watched the game last night and saw 700 passing yards and 100 rushing yards combined. So throw the ball there, Mr Dabble and throw it at their cornerbacks. That's improving the game. By the way. One other thing in terms of the game plan to watch out for is the Steelers offensive line. Okay, that's they blew up their line in the off season. So they're going to start a rookie left tackle. A rookie center. And a left guard who has four career starts on his resume. And the right tackle by reading this from reading all the Steelers stories this week. Jeremy, Everybody's talking about how the right tackle probably is better suited to be at the left tackle spot, but they need him on the right side, so they're going to start the rookie at left tackle. So I think You know, you have some areas of question big questions on the Steelers offensive line. That doesn't mean sacks folks, because if they're smart, they're going to have Ben Roethlisberger at the ball out in two seconds. But this could be a game where maybe Najee Harris doesn't find a lot of room to run. And maybe Rothenberger is under constant pressure because that line is a work in progress for Pittsburgh. That's all I got for the game. What else? It's almost to get through this segment. Oh, uh You wanted to promote I'm supposed to. You want to bring up something? "Here on the gs mc fantasy football podcast for the third segment of today's show. We're gonna talk about the one o'clock games on sunday and talk about some of the favorable and unfavorable matchups or each game. So let's start off with the steelers at the bill. So these two teams met late. In the season final score was twenty. Six to fifteen and yeah wasn't a good game for the sealers. But i feel like this. Game's going to be a lot different than it was when they last met. Because this is an early season matchup. Both teams are going to be relatively healthy. I believe stefan to what he's going to be out for a couple of games for the steelers early on but outside of that steelers coming in healthy. I think they're gonna put up a better fight than they did last year. So i'm going to say that ben rothlisberger has a decent game. I'm going to see if you know you you're thinking about starting ben. I think he could be a guy that you know. You could possibly start in this game. Because i like how the steelers offense played in the preseason i know was against some inferior teams like the lions but i just felt like ben. He looked like he had some zip on his ball. He was still able to do what he typically does doing his ben shimmy getting out of the pocket. You know avoiding getting hit stuff like that. And i feel like he's gonna do a little bit more of that this year. I don't think he's going to you. Know obviously be the quarterback that he was you know six seven years ago. I don't. I don't believe that. But i think that if he comes into the season healthy and motivated. I think he's a good season. But i think it all depends on the offensive line for the steelers. So i think ben can have a decent game here. I you know. I'm interested to see what the bills defense does. Now if you're debating on whether or not to start the bills defense. I do also think that you could start the bills defense because again what i say about. Ben doesn't really mean anything because a game hasn't happened yet. Because ben can easily go out there and not play well and play basically how he played in the game that they played last year and i play well so you know the bills could definitely be a positive play. Their defense as opposed to be better than it was last year. So if it is they definitely could be a positive play because also nause harrison has gotta get to the nfl still and obviously he's not going to be great out of the gate. So maybe you do start the bills events because at the steelers do the dinkins dunk stuff that they were doing for a large portion of the year. Their offense is not going to be very good. That's another reason why the offense might not be as if they continue the dink dong philosophy rather than doing what they should do and throw the ball deep now. Obviously ben. you know. He shouldn't be doing that. Forty fifty times a game because you know now he's thirty nine years old and you know again not the same player that he was back in the day. So yeah you can kind of have to adapt to how he plays. He plays now. But the steelers i think they have a good enough receiving core where they could figure it out. I think deontay. Johnson i think he can have a good game here. Think klay pool can have a good game here. I think the steelers they're gonna put up a fight in this game. Like i said but i also think you can start the bills defense. Well 'cause you know. This is what i think but you know what what we saw from the steelers offense later in the season last year i mean a lot of people are going to start the bills defense that they have and it's also the bills who are going to be a top team in the afc but then you look on the other side and you have the bills offense going up against the steelers defense in the steelers defense is healthy going into this season other than while going into this game other than the phone to being out they traded for keller witherspoon the corner from the forty niners and of course you still have joe haden back there. Who's getting older. And you'll make a fitzpatrick. Who's who is an absolute stud. Now you know it. It's gonna be interesting the bills there. There are one dimensional team. They are one dimensional team. They really don't have a running game. Josh allen is probably their best rusher and you know. I think that the steelers are going to have their hands. Full with digs and digs had a touchdown against them last year. So that's going to be a problem for them. But i just feel like because they're healthy going in this game they're gonna put up a better fight and they're gonna have another pass. Rusher ramon ingram. They brought in the lowest kyra word signing put him opposite of tj wide. I think that definitely does help. They got schober over from jacksonville. I think that definitely helps in the linebacking core devon bush's coming back from his acl tear so the steelers are going to be a different team in this game as opposed to when they played last year so when it comes to starting the steelers defense. I think people can definitely do that. But i just think maybe this is a weak. You probably hold off on the steelers defense and maybe look for other options. Possibly because i do have the in one of my leaks. But i know for a fact. It's going to be tough match up with them. Going up against the bills offense so i would say to be on the safe side. Probably look for other options. Maybe look for another defense. Start that week. But i do think that josh allen has a good game digs has a good game. I think those two are like the shore guys to do. Well the running backs though i mean i just you gotta really see what they do. They were disappointing last year. Between zack morrison single terry. Personally for me. I think breeders should be the lead running back for this team. But that's just me and then on the other side with the steelers. I mean i think you start the anti johnson and i think you start klay pool. I just don't trust jews. You i think you just very inconsistent and we'll see what they're tight end does the steelers Birth you know he was pretty good in the preseason against the lions the preseason game against the lions he had two touchdowns in that game so if he adds to this offense and there's another weapon for this team that definitely helps them out a lot in this game and he could be waiver. Wire pickup after week one. But we're just gonna have to wait and see and again like i said we're najji. It's gonna take some time for him to get used to the speed of the nfl..

"Playing and he's not holding in and all of that sort of stuff. You know incredible. Show i love joe haden. I love the back end of the defense of him. Their nausea. i mean. There's there's many ways that you can massage this to say the steelers are gonna win the division. But i still think it's the browns. I am not going to sit here and say it's the browns bringing the browns are always going to be the browns. That's over how does that sound right. Say the i. I declare that over. It's just anybody. The browns are just going to be. The browns is a new another way for people to say. I don't believe in baker mayfield. That's it. that's the way. I'm putting it whether you think he's was never worthy of the first overall pick or you think he's too brash. Or he's wearing his hat a certain way or all that stupid stance and all that crap too many commercial or the way i look at it was previously too many turnovers too many And he had the wrong guy who drafted him and he had the wrong guy who then took over for that guy then he got the right guy and we saw what happened last year. And he's got the right defense and he's got the running game and he's got the right protection scheme it's all right. They've got it right and the draft is supposedly deep.
