"U of H. Derek Keane, you have a you know what I mean? My favorite quarterback. All right, interesting guy, big time. You know, at the end of the warm ups before they go back into the locker room, they gather the team together and someone stands in the middle of the crowd and gives some type of inspirational words. Today I want that to be mad Adams because it seems like he understands a little bit about the seriousness of this rivalry and what it means for both organizations in a guy that's willing to come out here shirtless and these types of temperatures to go through warm ups. It's important to them. And I think that's the reflection that you need inside the locker room before the ball is ever kicked off. There's a reason he knows that record too, because clearly Matt ebert flu has been telling these guys all about it all week. And I did the coaches show on Monday night and he had a little piece of paper and he just went like that. He goes, 7 86, 7 80. So it's well important. Madams wasn't holding a piece of paper in front of him when he was talking to grody. So the message is already resonating. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Now, this other this other top because when Brody told me he goes, should I run this? I go, yeah, because did you not tell me a story at some point in your NFL life when you guys are in your hotel rooms before a game, a cold game that somebody put the air conditioning on full blast and slept without clothing to get ready? Was that you? No, that wasn't me. Somebody told me that story. It happened. That wasn't me. My roommate wasn't married, but it wasn't me, but I'm just saying, that's bigger, guys. We got more insulation. So we go out there without a shirt, huh? So how did you mentally and physically prepare for a colder day? This is not going to be like a brutal day, but we've all played in some really brutal cold temperatures. Certainly down Julia Catholic, you played down in some cold weather and going back to high school. So it's just part of what you have to deal with. I mean, you go out there and I think playing well playing fast, knowing what you're doing, I think once you get into the groove, the elements don't just become secondary. But when you're getting your butt kicked, it gets real cold, real fast. So Palatine high school really didn't have the cold temperatures like Jolie Catholic, right? Because. It's always sunny and 75 Instagram Palatine, don't you know that? I talked to the weather, the traffic and weather guys, when you do Palatine, it's always sunny and 75 in peloton. After I talked to Matt Adams in the locker room, I went up to Justin Fields in the locker room. I said, how many gift cards? How many Joe's gift cards could I give you to warm up with your shirt off? He said, that guy's crazy. I don't know what that guy's doing. He just shook his head and said, I don't know what's going on with this. By the way, did you have a C or a B painted on his chest like a really good fan? No, but

"Calls, but there's so much to talk about when you look at this week in motor sports, right? We have Mike joy on the download. We have a little NRX little nitro Rx racing IndyCar Xfinity and NASCAR Cup Series for Indy before we take the phone calls real quick. We're all going to be there. Indianapolis, the place is unbelievable. How great is it going to be to see Xfinity? IndyCar and cup. Two days full of racing from the road course. Yeah, it's just fascinating to see the difference in speed. When you put them when they're on the same track, exactly. It's like, oh my gosh, I mean, when we were running the brickyard and you go see an IndyCar run around there, Jeff and the stock cars that we drove. No comparison. Not saying it's what any more difficult what we did. Right. But the speed difference is that, and it's the same way on that road course. So just an incredible weekend. And I love watching the stars respect the stars. Biggest fans will be the other drivers. All right, let's hit the phones. We're gonna go through as many as we can here. Drew, go ahead. Hey guys, thanks for having me on. Real quick. At this point in the season is Chase Elliott's regular season points lead insurmountable. All right, Jeff, I'm gonna give that one to you. Chase sell it. He's gaining points. He has over a hundred points for the regular season champ, 5 races left. Anyone catching him? No, no one's catching him. Yes, his instrumental. All right, I like it simple enough there. All right, Justin, go ahead. Well, it's not practical for a NASCAR. If you have a 14 four core team and two of the cars get hit with something, and playoff points are so important right now. Wouldn't it be important for a NASCAR possibly to look at the other two Joe gift cards because that could hit a Kevin Hart coming over getting into the playoffs. All right, great question. Thank you for calling in just a DJ. I think the real simple fact is, all right, we know the 11 to 18 were caught. And while we know the 20 wasn't in the top 5 didn't go, you know, it all affects the playoffs. I think it's a legitimate question. I think you kind of have to let the chips fall where they are, do you have a differing opinion? No, I don't own that. I mean, I'm so difficult. I mean, it's almost impossible. I mean, you've had the teams there for a certain amount of time. They have to get back on the road. You know, it's not like that. It's an hour down the road or anything like that. So I think when everything's done and said, you have to move forward. I think there is a number that needs to be put on there that we're going to keep close by. You can go ahead and load your stuff up if I'm that. Loads of stuff up, but you sit right here that until we get through with the expecting the winner and the second place till we get to where we know we have a winner and then we're not going any further back. NASCAR has shown they've been flexible to make changes. We'll see if it changes this weekend. Nick, go ahead. Hey, thanks for taking my call. Question for you guys. Was the penalty that JGR was assessed enough based on the infraction. We saw RFK earlier this year. They got the book thrown at them for what they did. Was it enough for what they penalized JGR four? All right, so I'm going to start with this one. Great question, Nick. All right, let's start with what they got penalized. I think it's different from the 11 to the 18 because when you win a race, it's more than just prize money. There's things that enact in your sponsorship and your manufacturers. There's a lot of things that total that bucket of money up that you get. So it with financially was a big hit. It's impossible to say the number, but I am confident it's well more than what anyone has paid in a fine yet. So the question then becomes points because I don't know exactly how many order, but one, but it wasn't a hundred points, as RFK lost. So we're a little split, not big enough, big enough with the DQ. I think this comes down for me, what is the value of DQ next to your name in the record books? Yeah. It's a great question. And it's something that will be continued to be debated. I mean, honestly, yeah, it's a great question. And listen, there's no straight answer for it. To be blunt about it, it's a lot of opinions about it, but I do agree with seeing what DJ was saying. This penalty to give is much bigger than people are recognizing. And we know the insides of the sport and this was not an inexpensive pillar at all. This was a massive penalty in

"You know, she would, I would say here, let me put the ergo on you and here's my child. Go for a walk, have fun, and I'm gonna go do whatever I'm gonna do around here. So that was like a first step situation that really, really worked for me. And then when, you know, and then when we wanted to kind of do other things, and I came back and I was more refreshed, I was less stressed, all those things. So let's walk people through like, you said you had questions like, what are some things that you did actually ask caregivers that that mattered and made a different to you and your safety level? For sure. So one of the questions I would always ask is, have you done this work before? Do you have references? That was number one. Sometimes, you know, some caregivers were college students or high school students. And they didn't have as much experience, but some of them they were just very caring people. And they did have references. So I get that but I would always ask, you know, what are your hobbies? And that to me signifies like, okay, what is this person actually enjoyed doing in their downtime? And for me, like something that made me uncomfortable in a couple of interviews with somebody not having any hobbies at all. And that might sound simple, but their answer was sort of like, oh, just being on the computer, chatting with my friends or on the phone. That's it. And I wanted somebody red flag. Exactly. Exactly. I wanted somebody who wouldn't be on the phone or on the computer on devices all the time. I wanted somebody who could practice presents who was creative or artistic who could draw or doodle or scribble. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate, but who would love to play games or go outside. So that to me was important to me. A couple of other questions I would ask is, you know, how they felt about working with kids. And what their major was if they were studying. And if they weren't studying that, that wasn't even crucial as crucial as how were they interacting with my child because a lot of times not all the time if I wasn't a 100% comfortable, but a lot of times I had to take my daughter with me to the interviews. So what we just gauge how she felt how I felt and yeah, so just also the questions it also depends on what your values are and what you want to see. So for example, you might need help with a little bit of housework. Or you might really think that you might have a pool at home and be afraid of your kid drowning. So somebody with lifeguard certification CPR certification. I mean, that's always good across the board. So those were the certifications that I would ask for. But yeah, just asking additional essential questions that would put you at ease. And not being afraid to ask them. Yeah, I think that's great. And the CPR certification is great. And that everybody has that, but then you can say, you know, what would you do, what would you do if my child got a boo boo? What would you do if there was something that was seriously, they were really hurt or something like that. Those are all good questions. You ask, and you find out a lot about a person from doing those. And I love that you mentioned, you need help with housework. And that's something that you can hire for. And it can be sometimes the same person who maybe watching your kid, like you can say, I had a friend who had someone come and watching her child, and she, for a little while, had it worked out with her where she would give her a gift a Trader Joe's gift card, and she would hire this person to go pick up a bunch of groceries for her, a Trader Joe's before she came to come and watch the kids. And she would put all the groceries away, and she would get all her grocery shopping done through this experience. And that's something you can ask for. We don't have to be like silently suffering for all the things that we hate doing. Like, no, you don't have to do that. Totally. And you mentioned that, you know, you know, how are you somebody or giving the Trader Joe's car? I actually hired a high school student who was also a babysitter for my daughter. And I didn't want to do laundry because I had some studies that I had to do and I had some training I had to go through and I just didn't have time and I was overwhelmed at that time. And I'm like, are you okay doing the laundry? And she was totally cool with it. She did it, you know, several times. I mean, she didn't only come for doing laundry. She helped out with child care too. But there was something that you mentioned earlier too about having somebody come to your home, putting the ergo on them. I did that too. For me, it was really important that I see how they worked in the environment. So even before I felt comfortable going out, I had the child care provider, come to the home, and I saw how they interacted. And yeah, so and a lot of people think, okay, you have to pay a really high amount. You can, if you can afford it and you want to hire a really high quality nanny, but you can also hire babysitters who are either starting out or have enough experience and as long as it's giving you time to either focus on work that you want to focus on, focus on projects that you want to focus on or focus on your self care. It is totally valid because what you get back from it is ten times worth the amount that you're paying for that service. And it's just, it can be so, so helpful. Yeah, I mean, I really think if you dear listener, if you have kids who are under school age, right? Like who are not going to school regularly. And you're home with them kind of all the time. I just want to tell you that this is such an intensive time of your life. This is such an intense time and we kind of go into this thinking, well, this is the new normal. This is how my life is going to be forever now. And I just have to get used to this, right? But that's not true, is not true that your life is going to be like this forever. It's not at all true. It radically changes when your kid goes to school and as they get older and more responsible and they can take care of themselves. Now my girls are 11, 14. It's so different. You know, as far as the amount of time and space, they have different challenges. I'm glad I'm available to be able to be there for those different challenges.

"Student. So i know how to ball on a budget. She puts sometimes she's receptive to these tips and other times. She aggressively tries to defend expenses like nonessential weekend trips. So here's the real dilemma. She is a very generous friend and will often do like mail me care packages or vin. Mommy coffee money. But i feel so guilty when she does these things. I try to repay her with things. I know she'll use responsibly. Like a trader joe's gift card that's honestly glover however. How do i continue this going forward. I care about sarah and appreciate her generosity. But i also want her to start saving money and i'm worried about her future. Thank you both so much for your help and advice sincerely the finance abby friend. The finding that is that's frustrating. I think what is difficult is how long you've been witnessing miss. Because she says they've they've been friends for ten years. I think for me. It's it's that but it's also the fact that she's expressed she needs help and then gets defensive. Which i can really to to even like. There's been times where. I'm like one second. I'm like yeah. I want help. I want you to motivate me and the other. i'm like mentally weak. And i can't take any criticism whatsoever so i think that's where it's like a hard balance of okay like i want to help you but you're not accepting the help him giving but this is a hot. This is a really hard one this is. This is really tough So there's a few things i want to say. I am so curious. I wish you had done this. I don't know what any graham number you are. But it does feel like you're taking on a lot of her problems and it's not your job. Yeah so I understand that we all from unauthorized perspective Her having no debt and having a savings equals a secure and safe future And we won't that for her because we want her to have a happy life and a safe life And to not have to stress about things like this but in the end that is her responsibility and genuinely no one else's You can offer to help. You can give the advice that you've given but it sounds like you've done all that and she after ten years if she still hasn't taken it then i think that's her answer she actually doesn't want your help and she doesn't want to deal with this So for your own sanity. Sake i am. I'm curious if you should be back off because it really is not your job and it's scary to sit back and watch and be like. Oh you might want to start working on these things as a friend because you want. What's best for her. But it's also you've been trying. She's not taking it. Yeah i think too. Like i mean at the end of the day like she's the only one that can make a change happen like it's not you can say all you want but if she's not ready to make that changed for herself it's not going to happen and unfortunately with stuff like that. You almost have to hit rock bottom before you can make a choice. We'll have to learn hard way. Yeah and i mean i. I struggled a lot. Because i like. I got myself in a bad position. And then it took me forever to get out of it. Because i was having a pay debt and things like guy and luckily i never got credit cards because i was just too scared of that. Budget was student loans with like i had to borrow money to.

"But i but i will say i will say this that i thought to myself i'm like the hell's that ice me i'm gonna bust you got. I thought for sure that it was in spikes apartment. And i thought that would be the greatest thing because i wanted to ask this question has has someone ever given you a gift and then took it back. Has that ever happened before where they gave you like a christmas gift or a birthday gift. Or whatever and next thing you know. They took it back because they wanted it for themselves to your house for dinner her anything. I always bring a bottle of wine and you make me take it back. And i feel like a horrible person honestly. The only reason i do that is because i don't drink wine. You really watch you drink wine. You will your house item over the island and it feels selling every. But oh i did do this. I did take. I did give joe gift and take it back. 'cause mojo's the king of re gifting our gifts like i've you know like shannon. You've seen fletch. Wearing clothes you gave mojo. I gave joe nice karaoke machine lineup. So things end up re gifted. So hey spike. Where did my grill come from. No i bought you grow at shipped from amazon. Though you told me you re gifted that what are you talking about a wedding gift to you. I swear you said you got it for somebody. You hadn't opened it yet and then you send it to me as a wedding gift conversation. You're talking about. I don't know are you talking. We have now that. I could show you the receipt that came right. I went on amazon in order for you to your address anyway. By joe he was on this whole kickabout. It sat in her office for like four months after his birthday. He never took it home. Kept saying detriot. And one. And so what i did is i took it home and i drank it and then like a month later. Asked him by the way. Did you try that vodka got you. It's really good and he said yeah. It was odd after. I took it home and drank bottle suggestion. Coming out of your mouth. I i i am bringing the ice machine home. I'm going to bring that ice machine back home. And i'm gonna be honest with you. Yeah i really like this little desk that you've got to find something new something. You're taking out of the box early nine there because i don't usually get ready anymore before work. I get ready right after the show. So i have a curling by the way have we put anymore. Thought ellen into our bar in the corner of the studio. I know that we last week. Got all excited about this. And then the weekend did with us nat Looking at the end of the week. So i haven't had a ton of time to look at it. Let's we gotta find a little table or something tables fine. We just need some glassware and ice machine next to it too. Nice no but we were talking about the idea of having one of those role cart. Like kind of little marker type things we need one of our sponsors to go through their clearance section. And see if there's right. Yeah i like. I like the idea. That bar thing but But i also like this. Is the reason why the ice machines going home with me now is because our ice machine and home broke and with the in. I don't want to buy a whole new refrigerator.

Freedom-loving quote of the day from the great thomas sowell one time educators boasted that the role was not to teach students what to think. But how to think today. Their role is far too often to teach students what to think on everything from immigration but global warming to the new sacred trinity of race. Class gender boy. That's a pretty good one. I amber i remember my favorite college professor. Who was my adviser in college. His thing was As as a professor in your your your goal is to teach you how to how to learn and a desire to learn the love of learning. What is the risk of the deadly vaccine evading variant the variant from hell or as he calls it for the email. Vfat do we have reasonably that. There's a real non negligible chance that emerges hers if or is the vhf risk no greater than it is with other viruses like the seasonal flu which mutates much faster than the covert virus. I've never heard any vhf concerns over the seasonal flu nor any other virus for that matter was cova kovin. That's a decent question. I don't know the answer. Do you know the answer. Why don't why don't we hear all the time that a flu could mutate to the point that it kills healthy people and vaccines don't work. Why would that be less likely true than the kobe. Well i think kaz the flu just isn't as scary and it's not as good click bait. The white never caught killed six hundred thousand people in the united states since nineteen eighteen. But why couldn't why couldn't it mutate into a did. That's what i don't get. Yeah absolutely Paolo rights anybody. Trying to scare us into compliance with f. h. bogeyman needs.
