Don't be going to too crowded places and and you know but that's just we're out in this country right now where it's not such a drastic increase. In cases. He doesn't he doesn't take care of the football and he drives me nuts with aspect and he needs to understand situational football a lot better but when you talk about a guy that knows how to attack defenses and go after them and score and win and put the ball accurately really. I think he's really really good. quarterback play to me the difference for USC and UC. One is the reason why slow. This is like that now. Because he's just a true freshman. I mean he's just inexperienced and the belief that I could do all things right now is that does that play the lack of maintenance. Well maybe but he could easily have been been like that his whole life and trusted himself to make plays and I don't know even even when you're inexperienced you have to have to understand the gratitude of moments in against Oregon and when I'm in the red zone and and I'm running the football and I'm stretching it out trying to go to the end zone when I down that's stupid. That doesn't make any sense trying to fit the ball in tight windows when I need to understand the gratitude of the moment I gotta get points. I can't create turnovers in certain areas. But if you're talking about just spending the ball to somebody accurately. He's really really good at that. It's just in the sticky moments a lot of times. He's trying to do too much and trying to scramble around and do too much and he cost his team so I think you can learn. Learn from that and be more comfortable in those situations but I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of those guys his whole career that's got a little gunslinger. You know. I don't know what happened in South Bend because I was expecting a much better game tighter game and Notre Dame just just say we're going to do whatever we want to expect on thirty eight to three and like the second quarter or something like that. I don't even know what year I guess eight or nine years ago for College Game Day and I started it was nothing but sweets and chips and just straight trash. I mean it was. I literally told him I was like. Do we have anything remotely healthy. And now it's really evolved in the candy's gone in the trash is gone and it's you know it's baked chips and and it's coffee up there but there's fruit of their every single meal. It's it's we have egg whites in the mornings on Saturdays like it's definitely upgraded menu. We've done a much better job taking care of taking care of ourselves so you guilt trip. Everybody that's what you did like. He's guilt trip all the coordinators production coordinators that bringing the food made them think about. How important is of what you put in your body? He said he kept Alabama at at five because they they dominated the game they looked really good. I think it'll be interesting. Monitoring going forward if they feel the same way now with a change of quarterback because now it's official member two week by week thing thing into a plate last week and dominated and so it kind of put Alabama that spot Alabama is the only one really when you look at the top seven teams go. There's not anything they can do to really. WOW HE OREGON UTAH. Six or seven are going to play each other and have a huge opportunity to win a conference championship. Alabama does not Georgia's GonNa play Lsu with chew huge chance to win a conference championship. Ohio states can probably play. They're gonNA play Penn state this week and they're going to play in the big ten championship game opportunities. Everybody has huge huge opportunities in front of them except Alabama. So they're at five right now but it doesn't feel like it's a stable situation for them it doesn't feel like it's just a Georgia loses the AFC championship game. Slide Bam up. I don't think if you think that way I don't think it's I don't think it's correct. You're the type of guy and I could be wrong making this assumption that you you look at. Hey whatever plays out on the field. That's how I determine things I don't do the metrics I don't do. Hey the roster or look at how much talent is there and I bring that up because the head to head conversation where you see penn state two spots ahead of Minnesota after Minnesota you know a week and a half earlier beat them. Are you okay with that absolutely. I'm okay with that. Have no problem with that also. Look at what Penn State's also accomplished throughout their season Penn state also by the away. Beat that Iowa team that just beat Minnesota so I think that has to come into play but I'm also a guy that was at the Michigan Penn State game and saw Mish Penn State. They beat good Michigan team and okay. If Minnesota Played Michigan before the season ended. Would they lose. Possibly I would probably favor Michigan at this point with the way they're playing football so I don't think you can just say they beat them. They should be ahead of them. I think there's a lot of factors that go into it. You're absolutely right. I'm not a stats guy. I I can't stand. FBI and rankings of player rankings and stuff and all this stuff we do that I just try to bite my tongue or don't bite my tongue because I really don't care that much But I think I have no problem with Penn state being ranked above Minnesota. I think it was a competitive game against Minnesota was probably the biggest game of in one hundred years at their school for goodness sakes at their place at home played really well. Penn state still had a chance to come back at the end of the game and and win the ballgame. So I don't think Minnesota's outlook Minnesota and go their way better than Penn state okay when you look at the rankings. The top seven did not change little place scenario coming from one of our listeners. CAIN Lindsey who said Woulda Georgia win in the SEC championship over Lsu. See both the dogs in the Tigers Tigers into the final four. It's hard to predict what else has happened. You know what I'm saying like okay if I if I state beats. It's Penn State Beats Michigan. And then guess what if they're playing Minnesota Championship game in Minnesota Beats Him. And now has a head-to-head Anna Conference Championship Ohio State. I think would be out in that scenario and I think Minnesota would be in Georgia's obviously Georgia obviously would be Dan. But if you look at Lsu there obviously with their body of work at the top. But I think it's going to determine what Ohio state does the rest of the way. Because 'cause Ohio state team that they remember Kevin when the initial rankings came out Ohio state was above Avella above Lsu even with what else you accomplished even with big time winds now. Let's look at Penn State. Look at Ohio State. They have a Penn state game. They haven't Michigan game. They also have a big ten championship game down the road so a lot on a lot of meat on their scheduled to prove how high they should climb if they lost a really close game to penn state or a really close game to Michigan but still went to the the big ten championship game and wiped out Minnesota. I think Ohio state would be in in that scenario so I think there's other things to account for but LSU's in an an interesting spot because if Ohio state if both those teams stay undefeated. Kevin won't be interesting going into the SEC championship game and saying this game might not matter. UH-HUH LSU. This game might not matter it. Might if they lose this game they can still get it in which is crazy to think about with with college football and US talking so much about every game and you know who's ticked off teams like Oregon. Utah that can you know. Even though they win their PAC twelve championship. They can't say anything because then when you look at Lsu scheduled who they beaten they beaten top you know four wins against teams in the top twenty and that they could boast about depending attending worth Texas is each and every single week who has who has the most wins over ranked opponents in the top. Twenty five I would assume that's LSU. And I mean I would wonder how long I want you to guess again. I would wonder how long it would take you because this blew me away. I was way wrong by the way just to be clear. Now look at this. Most Games Games most games. WHO's played the most games against top twenty five teams? Well no that's different from. Who has the most wins? Okay well who's played the most games against the top twenty five teams in the rankings. It feels like that's that's A. That's an auburn answer. "Name and the first half I love it I love it I will say this just to play devil's advocate and by the way you mentioned studs isn't a construction reference not in a good player reference just when you said that there's China talk play off a little bit any time any concern that that gets as a negative effect just they play too tight try to too much all the stuff we've seen over the years you're on national TV I don't think it creates that much of a pressure another game on to talk about is Michigan sometimes if I have a few weaknesses the pod and when they play rutgers and they play some bad they beat up on him and they cover and they're great but when they face good teams they get crushed and they have faced undefeated Minnesota and Penn state loss. combined score of one hundred eleven to ten and I think Michigan is cut from the same cloth twenty-one I'll lay there's no home field advantage of the snake pit Ole Let's and I'm I'm with you I I prefer this game as well a Doug I have to say I have to go back I think my weakness is maybe the opposite is you where I see he something I see a team that's going to be better before I guess the rest of everybody does and I'll cash maybe one are one maybe two tickets on that team and then I get off them you know I won't stay for that prolonged maybe four or five weeks spread cover that you could get for that team and we might have that kind of going in this contest because you have a Michigan team That I guess you could say is is seeking certainly playing their best football of the season when you dominate the Notre Dame as thoroughly as they did last week outgained them by three point two a yard for play even the Penn state game probably you know they played better than the final score perhaps indicated but they got that wakeup call against Wisconsin and Dan since then remember this was this was a team that was supposed to be better than Ohio state to start the year so you know the talent is certainly on on board and and being better creating that confidence in Maryland is kind of the the opposite you mentioned that wind against Rutgers which was just an absolute horrible situation with guys essentially you know the leaders quarterback and running backs basically saying they wanted to sit out the night before the game but you know the perdue loss is absolutely inexcusable hard to believe They were four point favorite in that game name They you know they get beat by Indiana and certainly Minnesota and pay back mode after that but this is a team decimated right now they cannot figure out WHO's GonNa quarterback this program the running backs have been beat up as well I know there wide receiver had been suspended so yeah it is just going down Hill in a big way for this Maryland program and you know we talked about it where you know you start to have an eye towards next year certainly can get to bowl eligibility it's GonNa be tough here with Marilyn's remainder of the schedule here in the big ten plate for different quarterbacks right hasn't really matter Josh Jackson probably their best came back a week ago from a sprained ankle got pulled after I wanNA see two series they've just been a hot mess and there's no other way to play it of saying I don't their coaches good and I've been on them I've been on them a couple of times this year I'm not GonNa lie I think I covered one of them was against rutgers but I just not not part of them in Michigan now this is a game I would not play the first half I think this is a full game bet where they're going to have some broken tackles and just some big runs the wolverines I don't know when they're going to come I have more confidence in four quarters than I do too right you know to speak of that first half. I'll play devil's advocate devil's advocate and if you will you on a little bit of this dog and that would be my concern that you might have a little bit of a letdown here with Mesh Michigan and that's really the thing that really scares me a little bit on this one because they had the big game on Saturday night against Penn state two weeks ago obviously kind of the same thing at home against Notre Dame and look so good they do have a by we coming up before boy a big finish to this he's and so you know that by a week we'll see how it works out but it's a little bit of a tricky spot for Michigan here are you said you had one other play you're willing to get into the Atlantic and I got one off the grid as well let you go first with Florida Atlantic Yeah Not GonNa go to talk about this one too thoroughly here I wasn't sure if what we're going to talk about but this is a this is an interesting match up here with Florida Atlantic obviously with Lane Kiffin but you know I it's they're going to western Kentucky and as we know in conference USA Florida Atlantic is going to have the more talented team to pretty much anybody that they've been able to play and last year they took care of business in a pretty big way they beat Western Kentucky thirty four to fifteen they put up five hundred seventy six yards of offense in that game and you know you go back to the first two games for Florida land start the season they look a lot better they got beat you know they got beat pretty bad by Ohio state in central Florida but obviously the talent on both of those teams is it a very high level they bounced back here end up played really good football the only loss was to Marshall kind of a back and forth game they lost that game thirty six to thirty one so They're playing to win this conference here against Western Kentucky Robinson Their quarterback Oklahoma transfer got hurt in Miss Probably I think last three quarters but he's upgraded and expected to play In this game so I believe this is just the better program better talent here and I bet again against Western Kentucky quite a bit they've come on as the season went on but that was a little bit fluky last week against Marshall they're actually down I mean like twenty six three in that game scored a bunch of touchdowns are scored touchdowns late actually tied the game up but heartbreaking loss to lose that game with a field goal at the Buzzer to Marshall I think that sets them back for this game I think their energies maybe a little bit less checking so I got a bet hero Florida Atlantic this we can't fault you there I think Western Kentucky he's pretty shaky all season so can't fault you that one at all my final play Doozy House Liberty laying twenty three and a half on the road how were they laying seven and a half to rutgers last week he was probably the first one we need hands so that's my point they lost outright seven half point favorites at rutgers and now they have to go to now look you mass awful right I'm not GonNa make it worse than awful I'm not GonNa make a strong case for Umass here but they did win outright is seven half-point dogs or whatever it was with Akron they did and I just looked the UMASS D is like dead last Stinson FBI and FBI and some categories and liberties decent twenty three and a half there are some twenty fours out there I mean come on right yeah I mean you know with all these problems that rutgers had shown and when rutgers go in and basically dominates you that kind of tells you a little bit and you're right I mean liberty was not even a team we could essentially bet on two or three years ago and you know you talk about you man acid defensively you cannot say one good word about what they've been able to do but offensively as we saw last Yukon they they still are capable of scoring some points which certainly helps you get inside the number here so that's what I was trying to break this down further with over under seventy you're looking at had a team total of twenty three ISH Kinda WanNa go over just because you saw some now the problem is liberties D has been respectable times so I don't know if that's the right answer yeah I'll I'll say this about liberty as well as you know you do expect them to win the game I know you hope they win the game here but he he's the coach and and I've known this from a couple of earlier wins this season but they will basically run the clock as much just possible if they do have a lead this is a they get really conservative so if you do play the over that's concerning however if you are taking the points that's not a bad thing because they could have that to touch down ten point lead and you know essentially play a conservative and try to run clock so maybe under seventy s no not as much under seven but I'm just saying you know in general I would be you had to score seventy points I'd be a little bit hesitant with that right you know maybe you'd want the first half over the toll Gotcha what you're saying this is this is tough but for me it's at principle liberties should not be laying twenty three and a half on the road to anyone including humans that's in my thought so I'm going to have "That's okay welcome into another behind the best podcast we were taping this on Halloween Eve it is Wednesday I'm Doug Kazarian Syria well look it comes down to this this is what I what I said the beginning of this podcast was that we're beginning of this discussion on the game is that this is a team that has had trouble against power ten most of the week but then you have these huge numbers twenty seven and twenty three against whiskey and in Ohio state than the first half team told us will be really low but that feels like we're on that together let's go to opposite side of the spectrum and go to Ucla in Colorado this bruins team shown some life a little bit the last here bruins laying six and a half seven with a total of sixty four and a half yes doug and last week we use the over the total with Colorado aww I'm going back I'm going back there and remember last year as well for whatever reason chip Kelly in this UCLA program played their best has football certainly their best offense football at the end of the season you know they had that awful start and they improved they actually did improve the month of the year and right now this is a program team once again that is Kinda showing that and remember they had such a rough start and sometimes offense did not look good the defense is not really had issues all season long but you know right now and if in four their last five games ucla his averaged forty three and a half points per game. That's that's that's a lot of joints and you know last week against Arizona State has been a very good defense they were able to to the score remember the Washington State Game obviously or they scored sixty seven points and the one point they are the one game they didn't when they went to Zona and they scored seventeen points it was when The quarterback Robinson actually got hurt and since I came back they've actually showed a be better run games has gone which is Kinda opened up the passing game for UCLA is well so they're able to put the these points on the board and and I see again if you go back to last year there was a trend kind of going on this is an offense it has improved under Kelly each of the last two years so I'll see that to continue and this Colorado defense has been really banged up Tristesse set in so ucla should be able to score their fair share a number of points to remember that one I'm talking about four of their last five had been very high scoring Games that game against Arizona Remember Khalil Tate did not play as well and meanwhile I mean the defense for both of these teams have been really really sketchy Doug and if you the right now the depth and the talent for this bruins defense has been absolutely did their pass defense has been atrocious in fact both of these programs path pass defense is really bad ucla currently hundred twenty third and NCA football allowing nine yards per pass play and it's kind of crazy numbers if you look at it within this program but the pass defense has been absolutely abysmal here and in in Colorado is kind of the same thing Colorado comes in with the hundred and twenty first rated pass defence in the country they're allowing eight point eight yards per play a we watch this defense last Friday night and they actually had their second best performance of the year and they allowed all those he's still allowed four hundred six yards through the air to USC And I just don't see that these defenses are getting any better here with the grandma Colorado and I think you have to capable quarterbacks in this game with the buffaloes here we've seen you know what I believe is a quarterback that has a good chance to be drafted with the buffaloes with what they're able to do with Montanez obviously they have some skill position players there's that have gotten healthy as well so you you just can't make some of these totals high enough with some of these games this one that actually come down tick down a little bit but I see sixty four it was a good bet here you mentioned last year Ucla's offense improving talking about for some reason what's called coaching I mean Chip Kelly you know we just met than I for a couple of weeks here on this podcast we're very bullish on the bruins this year because we felt like the health of DT are you get things going to be in the season obviously did not start out like we envisioned but the big win at Wazoo was a turning point and I think Josh Cal Joshua Kelly finally getting healthy was part of this part of the reason for this offense explosion so three straight over the one under his when D- tr got hurt although that game probably would have gone under regardless and then the game before that had pullman in pullman was scene overplay so I'm with you on this bruins sort of offense in that next year because this is kind of what we expected coming in the air this is why a few of his bed over their season win totals and this is you know maybe why am I get there there's there three wins now they got Colorado at home and Kathy end of the season with the injury of their quarterback and maybe even at USC so right some options here in terms of ways to get there but in terms of this why I can't fault you at all you think this Colorado off my one concern is look you can't make it like its statements with the buffs last week's they looked competent at times on offense at home but they've folded like a cheap suit on the road I'm worried that they cave but obviously UCLA's Deacon can cure a lot of that yeah it's it's a good point and you know they did struggle at organ at Washington state remember Washington State the league did they make the changes that defensive coordinator Kinda right before that game and organs bid you know the defenses shined for the most part all season long wrong and yeah coming back to that UCLA defense when you make San Diego states passing game look good which Ucla did early in the season I think Colorado should be able to move the ball fine they are fun to watch the receiver especially when they can get going although US's offense played a role in that it's talking about this Baylor game which surprisingly the bears are still under heated and you like Baylor here laying the points on Halloween night here against West Virginia Absolutely I think this is where I'm going to steal your thoughts under a little bit early and I I think you wanna play the first half as well you just have a little bit better number to go at your it'll be about ten when the it comes up at Caesar's kind of ten globally right now but ten you have to lay seventeen and a half eighteen seventeen and a half on the side here but you know it's an interesting game when you handicap and once we get into November Which obviously this game takes place you have to take a different kind of look at some of these programs some of these teams and we'll talk about that with West Virginia in a second but Baylor it is kinda crazy this this programs on a nine game win streak I mean they're Talking College Football playoff and I it certainly would be kind of a miraculous to get there but hey they're undefeated certain things have to break but number one they have to look especially good here under the Yes CBS lights on Thursday night so this is a team that's you know the schedule is is going to be kind of thing that comes back to haunt them if you will being in the holiday season here but the numbers are absolutely impressive. This is a program right now Doug this year that's averaging seven in point three yards on on their offense of plays that's fifth in the country and Matt Rule as you know has got this defense tuned up as well all right now twenty fifth in the country allowing four point nine yards per play so they have been very impressive the field with what they've been able to do we saw them beat Oklahoma State couple of weeks ago both teams get a couple extra days off to prepare for this team of course Oklahoma state fired back with a nice win last week so there's really nothing fluky with what they've been able to do they've been impressive it's just really been the schedule but I think that creates a copy finance within this team and again they need to put on a good show here on Thursday night West Virginia obviously is just a total rebuild at this point under Neil Brown remember they had so many seniors guys skip the bowl game last year I think the only returned a couple of starters on offense of this year and they had really they lost their their best offensive Lineman earlier about a month ago if probably not their best offense of play are your so they are just down to the studs I if you will and not the studs in a good way on this football team and you know the offense coordinator basically said this week were two years away They know that they understand that. I know the defensive coordinator of a couple of weeks ago basically said hey defense we have some guys that are just not buying in and they've allowed fifty to thirty eight forty two points there last every game so what happens doug is they start playing towards next year as of right now at this point in the season in a true freshman if taken over eleven hundred snaps in fact eleven hundred and fifty two snaps for West Virginia this year from last year this as from season standpoint last year true freshman took only six hundred seventy snaps that's throughout the whole season leaks if these two teams were to play I think the spread would probably be twenty four so again I think bailer comes out looks really impressive here take them for the when those situations manifest themselves negatively late in the year that's a good point you know and I don't know if it's as much as the players are thinking about that you know or the media kind of the buzz around the program maybe creates that so it's a good question but now in this type of scenario where you need to look good or mistakes that I'm known to make is jumping on a team a week too late almost chasing money that I missed out on the week before and I like Michigan here and I don't think it's about the Notre Dame game I think it's finally this is more of a fading against Maryland that Frankly I've done a lot this year and it comes down to this they're terrible football team and they're just kind of a bully as a term I've used here on.

This first week in change of the young NBA season so a lot to get through but I'm with you travis no real rooting interest although I helped Mr Murray's happy so maybe I'm rooting for the nets How do you feel on your team gets knocked out. How does that impact your routing great question 'cause transit of property makes your team look good but then also hurts me when you had the game won so it's a great great question I don't have an answer I think it varies over the years it's also for me like the nationals. The Appalachian State That game was certainly going to have some weather that's a total that opened I think globally around fifty and his move down a good five more than five point so there's always those examples out there so I guess let's go through it like we did last week but I want to start with this in Bloomington Indiana northwestern game because look we've talked about nausea about how inept the wildcats offense is and I don't I don't know how else to explain it other than they just they faced six power five opponents they have only gotten four first-half field goals in those six first-half that's one in four of them and then the other two they were shut out at halftime so there's an offense I can't do much now I you could give up a few more points but I think I use offense is much more explosive they scored at least thirty one against all their opponents except Ohio State and the wildcats look at back back home games where they were kind of up for right they had Friday night game with Ohio state in town than the Isla game a team they they had beaten I want saith three straight times there so they kind of had Iowa's number just given their their running attack and got wax they got waxed and I don't see how this is a good spot when they're gonNA go on the road facing team that's been pretty good sixty two this year yeah I mean you wonder where everything is at with this North West turned team at this point one in six straight up remember this is a program that played in the pig uh I'm sorry the big ten championship game last year obviously zero Oh chance for that to happen at this point this year and you know northwestern was just an interesting team because you looked at the box scores etc can you always wonder how they got it done but they were able to get it done and this year it has really just been the opposite that has happened within this program Cetera you you know it happened the first week against Stanford certainly from an ATS perspective when they had that late fumble Stanford jumps on it to get spread scoring Cover in that game and when when you talk about inept offense Doug I don't think that paints the proper pitcher of how bad worth Western offense has been because it is been something else send I I again I it's hard to find a word to describe it because oh you look at them right now and and no question they played some slow teams and some really good defensive teams but they are on a run of zero three ten and fifteen and ten points their last five games so getting to ten is an absolute chore for this for this northwestern team and I just don't see any turn around that because if you watch this team or if you watch them play each and every week there's nothing but this is a team that just has a hard time moving the ball certainly has a hard time score or putting any kind of points on the board as well and you know the defense has been pretty good you do Kinda wonder at what point do they have you know there was a little bit ascension the you know probably about a month ago that you heard the defense was kind of getting sick of the offense etc but the defense has been sturdy it's been good enough when you look at Indiana interesting with third year head coach Tom Allen who is done a really good job recruiting and building depth you can see that on display here they lynch a bowl eligibility I believe the earliest time ever last week in that win at Nebraska you know their last two games that they've played against I I guess you could say a little bit more pacier teams in Nebraska and Maryland if he will they're able to score thirty eight and thirty four thirty five against rutgers before that I'm not sure I think it's a little bit fluky how they've scored this is a defensive a pro orientated program and how they've been under Tom Allen he was sleet facto defensive coordinator until this year he gave that up in past that down to a thirty two year old came woman Mac daughter pretty good job so the quarterback has kind of been a little bit the situation with panics or Ramsey so I think they do enough off to to certainly made me spread cover the spread but do enough to win win this game but I think the scores low here you just can't count on more than ten from northwestern Indiana should you know it looks like a twenty two ten twenty four to ten type game I I'm on this one under the total continue to ride that until northwestern just show something different that they can score the football so the total here is forty three and a half or forty four out there in the market looks like a team total of about sixteen and a half that's pretty high for the wildcats Yeah I mean you know the last five weeks you're caching under the total in that and yeah again they face some very good defensive teams but Indiana is certainly of that ilk as well I'll tell you what the probably the best of the year is Indiana team total first half under if it's over seven okay all over your all over these that's that's good that's what I like to talk to you doug because it it's funny because I used to talk through these games with someone and you know you Kinda give my reasoning etc they could always find the best way the most logical way to make that bad as you mentioned maybe it's first half team total excetera you're kind of that guy I aim to please opponents in the first half and depending on how many three nights there are there's only a small amount of possessions whether it be seven possessions six possessions the first staff depending on the linked drives so if you're asking the wildcats to get a touchdown NFL goal I bad hasn't happened against the power five opponent scored a touchdown in the first half and I use what you're saying is a defensive team some of their points have been fluky and we're going to see some inclement weather in the midwest that's where I wanna go because the number the side is lower than it has been for a lot of their other opponents obviously last week in that Iowa game was a gift at it came down to eight but it's the right right price for me to get involved here sounds good indict game for Indiana I know this team is extremely fired up that's been a very a long time since that happened if it's almost ever happened so big game still here for the hoosiers money one is twice as sweet as money earned all right good a little you know the last few weeks obviously at some points last week and in their last Colorado had showed some life finally back at home and now they're back on the road Bull.
