Woke Athletes Should Stick to Sports

"Men and women, the people of America, I am sick and tired of athletes. And coaches who supposed to be shooting three pointers, supposed to be coaching teams, congratulations to Steve Kerr. The only reason he won, he won, right? The only reason that he won because he was the Arizona alumni. But outside of that, you supposed to be doing your thing, but they putting their hands in a politics in ways in which I think are rooted in stupidity. Steve Kerr came out and said and cried about good laws and just country. Enough is enough. And then he runs off the stage. And then Joe burrows, I love that kid, man. If y'all don't know it's the Bengals quarterback right now, I love them when he was in college, LSU won the national championship. I said, man, that kid got hard. Come back season. It was amazing. He got drafted number one overall. He got obliterated his first year because officer line was blocking as if they only had one leg. And then he came back and he went to the championship and I rooted for him. I said Joe burrow, I hope that you win this thing and be an upset. You know, be a part of an upset victory. However, I have since changed my mind because I believe he's going to walk in and woke. So I don't believe me. Wrote a clip. You know, you're not going to outline everything you got to at least make it harder to get those crazy guns that everybody's using. I don't think you should be able to just walk in there and buy one. You got to be able to go through a rigorous process to be able to buy something like that, I think. So, you know, hopefully the people that get paid to make those decisions figure that out, my job is to play football, but hopefully the politicians can figure that one out.

2022 NFL Draft Picks With Coach Chan Gailey

"On the clock. Number one again. Second year in a row. What are they going to have? Everything. I mean, seriously. Would you be asking for a trade? No. I think that quarterbacks in general have a certain level of cockiness that they need, and they thank a just get us a little bit. We can go in. And you need that kind of guy that believes in himself so much that he thinks he can take the team and get to where it needs to get to, like a Joe burrow. Joe, I mean, he's got some players around him. Just happened this past year that they got it all together. But it can happen in a short period of time that you can put together some people via free agency and draft and get what you need. To make the next step. But I think everybody would be shocked if they didn't take 8 and hutchison and I could see him taking Ed and Neil from Alabama as offensive tackle to help. Right. Because they do have Trevor Lawrence and they want to protect him. But whatever they're playing is do it. You know, don't just get enamored as you said. Don't get the shiny object out there and what just because the pundits say are going to say, God, what a stupid pick that was. If you don't pick the guy, they think you should be. Or make sure that you pick the guy you believe is going to be the best for your team. Well, always

"Comfort food and so I just, I'm so happy that these two things have really collided. Joe burrow, this quarterback who I'm really inspired by his work ethic, his moxie, his confidence as attitude. It's a quarterback I love in a city I love. And so maybe what I'm going to say here is Cincinnati, can you forgive me? I was skeptical. I didn't think it was going to work. I really not that Joe burrow wouldn't be great now that Jamar chase wouldn't be great. I assumed things were still the way they were when Carson Palmer was a quarterback there. The ownership structure is different, and also Joe burrows better than Carson Palmer was. He's just elevating his teammates more than Carson Palmer ever did. And I just love seeing what's going on. It's a quarterback of a city I love. It's this great combination. And I'm so happy to have been wrong about Joe burrow. It certainly is really kind of cringey to look back at the stuff I said. But in all of that, I hope it's understood that there's a lot of love for the city. And it's a place I just, oh my gosh, I miss it, man. I really love the city of Cincinnati, and I'm happy that Joe burrow is just making me look monumentally wrong. It's a joy to watch. And I don't know that they're going to win a Super Bowl. I am crossing every finger and every, you know, my toes, everything. I just want them to win so badly. I don't know they will, but I want you to know I am rooting for Cincinnati. Hardcore in the Super Bowl. And they got a shot, so I don't know. I really wanted to look back and kind of, I just think it's fun to kind of clown on myself and look back at all the times I was wrong or the things I said and Joe burrow manage was proven me wrong over and over and over again and I love that. All right, let's shift gears..

"I don't know how much of an impact that really makes. I would like to see the Bengals doing fantastic. It'd be awesome if they were 8 no to start the year. I just don't think that's a realistic expectation for the Cincinnati Bengals. I was very, very critical of this move. I did not like it. I knew Jamar chase would be a star player, but I did not think he would lead to Cincinnati winning more games. And I was really, really worried about the Bengals offensive line. In fact, I still actually kind of am like going into the Super Bowl. I'm like, just please, Joe burrow, do not die. That's all I'm asking for. Joe burrow gets hit a ton and I certainly did not expect anything like what happened in the Tennessee Titans playoff game where Joe burrow got sacked 9 times and still found a way to win. That doesn't happen. You don't win football games when that happens to you. And I would actually say that Bengals are kind of getting away with one right now. Where in year one, Joe burrow got hurt, destroyed his knee, and it's hard to not blame the offensive line. And the thing I just did not account for is Joey B is just a wizard at surviving in the pocket. He avoids sacks like crazy. There's a play against the Kansas City Chiefs where Chris Jones has him dead to rights, not once, but twice on the same play, and he avoids a he ducks under it, then avoids a sack with like an ankle bite. And he does that all the time. He avoids sacks like crazy. Like you just are like, I didn't, he's not Russell Wilson. He's not as fast, doesn't have a crazy amount of top end speed, but he's just like a little slippery. You can't get a hold on Joe burrow. He's hard to sack. He's also incredible in a messy pocket..

"They're not changing. Things are not going to change. And Cincinnati, the owner is still Mike Brown. Mike Brown is still the owner of the Cincinnati Bengals and as long as he is, things are not going to change. Carson Palmer never won a playoff game until he left Cincinnati. But Joe burrow, in my opinion Joe bro needs to reject the Bengals and do it hard. He needs to be harsh. She needs to say, I don't want to play for the Cincinnati Bengals. They have bad ownership. I will not play for Mike Brown. You can draft me. I won't play. Joe burrows worked too hard. He's too talented to waste years of his career in Cincinnati. He might have a little bit of success in Cincinnati. Maybe at some point Joe burrow wins a playoff game with the Bengals. And that'd be awesome. Pull an Eli Manning, refuse to go there. That's what I think is best for Joe burrow and his family. Go to a better organization, have a better life. When football games and achieve good things, great things, don't go to Cincinnati and under cheap. Oh my gosh, it's hilarious to listen to it. It really is. I said, don't go to Cincinnati and underachieve. All Joe burrow has done since he got to Cincinnati is overachieve. I said, maybe someday he can win a playoff game, like one playoff game. He went three. He won three this year. And now he's going to a Super Bowl in year two. And really the big thing that happened with the Bengals organization and what really took place is that Mike Brown, the Bengals owner has gotten older and as that has happened, he's given more and more control to his daughter, Katie Blackburn. She's got a dope by stand, by the way. She married a guy named Troy Blackburn, but she is she is Mike Brown's daughter despite not the same last name. Katie Blackburn and duke Tobin are basically running the Bengals organization. And they've done a great job building around Joe burrow, something I was very concerned would not happen in Cincinnati. They brought in, for example, the defensive line. They brought in toy hendrickson, they brought in DJ reader, they traded for BJ hill, a really great, quiet trade with the Giants to get DJ hill. They gave Sam Hubbard a big contract. I was really, really critical of the Bengals for being cheap during the Carson Palmer era. I'm like, look, it didn't work with Andy Dalton. It didn't work with Carson Palmer. They didn't even spend money when Carson Palmer really needed it to win more playoff games and go farther. However, they've actually done a really good job building their.

The Bengals going to the Super Bowl. Nobody's going to really care 'cause it's the Bengals and the rams. "It was like a 72 yard touchdown. He makes a he catches like a 5 yard slant or hits or something makes people miss runs for a long touchdown a bunch of yards after the catch. And it really sparks Cincinnati. And in this game, he had 11 catches for 266 yards and three touchdowns. And all year, Jamar chase is elevated his team and made a difference and helped his football team win games. Let's be clear. He was the right pick. I was wrong. I am so glad I was wrong. I remember being like, they should have got penne sewell, idiots. Why would they draft him receiver? Receivers don't help you win games. David proven wrong, so many times. And I love it, man. And I got to acknowledge it. And I truly, I enjoy being wrong, because the Bengals are so much fun to watch. And there's some YouTube comment throughout there. I forget his name, I don't really care. He was like, I can't wait to watch Zack Schumer be disappointed when Kansas City beats the Bengals. No, no, no. No, it was an awesome moment. Cincinnati won. And I really love what job was done elevating the Bengals and beating Kansas City was the culmination of so many good moves made by Cincinnati. It's not just Jamar chase, it's not just drafting Joe burrow. It's bringing in Larry ogan Joby from Cleveland. Trey hendrickson from New Orleans. BJ hill from the Giants. Casey put up 28 points in the first half of this football game and only three points in the second half. That defense stepped up. Great coverage in the second half, getting pressure with their front four. A lot of pressure on Patrick Mahomes. And then look, man, Joey B made throw after throw after throw. He was dealing. That dude looks like a Hall of Fame quarterback already. And it's kind of funny actually, you know, the ravens defensive coordinator like last week said, well, let's not put him on the Hall of Fame just yet. And yeah, it's a year or two, that's a bit ridiculous. Who knows how his career is going to play out. But, man, like, I'm telling you. I am not over hyping Joe bro. In fact, if anything, I am somehow underselling Joe burrow. Joe burrow was 30 for 39 passing against a really good Kansas City defense. It's made Casey's defense is really come alive in the second half of the year. And Joe burrow shredded them 446 yards four touchdowns, zero turnovers, and the guy got hit a ton. He's the most sacked quarterback in the entire NFL. The offensive line, they still need work. I mean, Joe got his nameplate ripped off of the back of his Jersey. He was getting hit so much. He probably ripped him off. I'm sure he ripped it the rest of it off himself. But I remember watching it slowly peel off his Jersey. And I got things like barely hanging on. And in spite of the fact that the ovens online is struggling. It's by the fact that he's having to really, how many times have you watched Joe burrow at all? He's avoiding sacks. He's making people miss. He's turning what should be losses into big throws downfield..

"Joe burrows coming Joe burrow was coming rock this year scoring thirty six Saturday from a mountaintop that the biggest surprise of the draft so far Joe burrow was drafted by the Bengals but I'm glad to see it happen many dead then here's a here's at this headline caught me today it's one of the TV stations on their website Joe burrow is bringing his swagger to Cincinnati well it he's a grief I'd look he said to me he's a real nice kid who happens to be real good at football I don't know swagger necessarily a prop and applied well it depends on the definition of acquired I I think he has a very quiet confidence in any of this for sure yell at anybody and all that but if if by swagger do you mean he's you know right yeah he's not the you're just super Lou a look I want my quarterback buttoned up you know we always talk about that with lance lance I think it's the perfect amount for me so what we'll see well there are you just that swagger thing makes you know make them sound like Johnny Mann Zell or it's off well that's that's the thing with our maker may feel that he has a swagger but that's not what we want at all you want someone who can actually play football correct let's talk to our guy from local twelve about it Richard skaters getting how are you you good we're doing great body so to the surprise of no one the Bengals take Joe burrow you know you can't argue with that pick there is no there is absolutely zero downside now what about the rest of the weekend actually a lot of ways we can deal with Berkeley start midnight Uniper stake tonight so did the first pick last night and while your last day if you're being very very clearly on Joe burrow from a long period of time we'll never know if if they got a chance to evaluate to a little bit longer but they might have done there but they they really don't you know what and pretty much clear cut on that in a consensus on that I don't know did I usually have a draft board if there would be a consensus on where they would go with his kick starts around hopefully they can they can trace back to think that a lot of ways it can go they can go operative liners it was on the board they can go linebacker the main character off the board probably until the end of the second round early third round but whatever they can they can do that if they move backward eliciting physically Y. receiver group of wide receivers and a lot of good running backs even though the product the market for running backs but they might be if they don't start your mix of long term so there's a lot of different ways they can deal with this I mean just that point I'm having the Andrea swift who was in my opinion the number one back he's now fallen out of the first round that that's an option in terms of offense of linemen skinny I I think you want me to what four or five of went last night in one the last kind of top guys is Josh Jones right at a Houston who I've watched in I think he's good player he's he's experienced in and and the most experienced tack on a time when that's a more valued because of you know the shut down of the facilities and all that but I guess the question is the the the risk is moving back too far and you okay yeah yet more pics but man maybe that them down terms of top offense of linemen I don't know how many of those are left now there's a lot of wide receivers you could maybe roll the dice a little more but if you want an offense of linemen offense of tackle as might be your last time to get one what do you think yeah there's one other guy in this round it was probably ten picks deep you could go to the key name as recorded without a point not too far behind but Joshua it's funny I did I did a mock draft well what's time for these two rounds tonight and I I took three different big board one from pro football network one from CBS sports network from graphic out dot com that one political to simulators try to make it somewhat authentic it's very common that Josh Jones independence guys available municipal network at CBSSports dot com has Josh Jones and that number one guy available going into the night exploring those with the with our buddy but later earlier this week and he asked me.

"I feel the thing about Joe burrow that you get hearing from him and and it's it's weird because Mike this is when you understand that it's such a it's such a crazy time because normally we would have heard Joe burrow to death by now right Joe burrow doing interviews here Joe burrow saying this diversity and we're not just because it's difficult because your players can't go in and and meet with with teams and they're not doing as many interviews as hearts why was great that we can bring you that bit with Joe burrow but the one thing that I think I can take away from the biggest thing for this individual client and just seeing how borough carries himself is that some players specially quarterbacks you have to worry is the NFL too big for them that is is is this job from college to the NFL gonna be something they make seamlessly or they going to struggle because everything is going to be too big and it's going to get in their way of their development that's not going to happen with Joe burrow and you can tell just the way he carries himself the way he talks what he's gone through during his college football career it's not going to be too big for me I could have to worry about how big is how's he going to be on the big stage funny like I would worry about that with Justin Herbert or the concerns you had with Josh Allen how is he going to be able to handle the NFL coming from a small college or turns out Josh Allen handle it pretty well but that was something that was on the list okay that's what I got to watch out for him I don't get that with Joe burrow if he struggles at all it's going to be because the Bengals thank and it's going to be because all right he's got to figure out things in the NFL but it's not going to be a moment and and and a jump that is too big that he's got to get through that in addition to everything else no I think that that's the bottom line here is you got a guy who still plays with a bit of a chip right says he hears it all all the criticisms and he didn't have an easy path as much as it looked like a charm season and L. as you with the dominance he had this past year and yes you could say Hey it's one year and we we certainly have here on the show as to you know have a large sample size of what to expect but you saw the growth the fact that you guys look it may not be very smart but I'm understanding and I'm gonna take the extra hit and I'm gonna go through all the pains with this team to show that I am in full body and not just a figure head so I I I think he he still sees himself as a bit of an underdog even though he's going to be the net and the number one pick in the draft so yeah the the only thing I'm worried about is the Bengals franchise and perhaps having another talented quarterback who never gets in the system or the players to really show us what they can do to help out a friend Scott Mike it's fallen down the Jason Smith show with my best friend my car we got more coming up in ninety seconds but first.

"So Michael Jordan's documentary on another network start Sunday. I can't wait to watch. It will get higher ratings than any NBA regular season game this year, very few exceptions. It'll get higher NBA. That probably a lot of NBA. Games in the last several years now, some of that is because of the virus. We just want anything. Is some of its because Michael. Jordan is still more popular than any current NBA player, not name Lebron James. Now I'm not in any way denying the popularity of Michael Jordan, it's like Peyton manning and Brett Farr. But when Peyton manning and Brett farve leave the NFL I gotta be honest I don't Miss Them Patrick Mahomes. I got the more Jackson. Zone Tyler Murray. I don't even think Baker Mayfield's good, and I love watching him play. Because! That's what the NFL has with college football. They put their arms around. They hug each other. They understand they're both good for each other. Over the last three weeks, join I have talked about college. Football players many that you've never seen play. I don't know of Joe. Berle's going to be any good. But I'm watching every freaking snap. Of A bengals game this year. I'm GonNa Watch the Cincinnati. Bengals who are going to finish five and eleven, and I'm going to watch every damn snap. Because I have an emotional connection to Joe Burrow. Because, I have an emotional connection to Baker. Mayfield and Cuyler Murray. In Sam Darnold, you don't even have to be a good player on a good team. All Watch because I'm connected emotionally. The. NBA Doesn't get along with college basketball. They seem as bad guys stealing from the kids. Football doesn't see college football as a match ration- process, developing young men hardening them for the NFL. Don't you think it, Tyron, or strange, because I don't believe in coincidences. There's fifteen to twenty NFL players that get me to a TV set Lamar Jackson on I'm watching. Sam darnold playing Baker Mayfield cuyler Murray I'm not just mentioned, not just quarterbacks like star receivers fascinated with I'm gonNA sit and watch draft for four days, not because of the virus though battle increased viewer because I, love it because I have a connection. The NBA doesn't do that. The NBA's new model is something that's good for the individual I'm sure I'm not sure maybe I'm not sure..

Most Games. They'd one in six years. Herbs and interesting cat great motivational speaker. Had? A lot of success with the New York. Jets Three playoff appearances. He went to Kansas City I coach. The franchise history a Kansas City to make the playoffs in his initial season. He was a former player in the PAC twelve. I was stunned I. Remember when he took the job and I I had a friend inside the athletic department I'm like. Does herm. He hasn't been around the college game I mean. D- D-. Does he have an understanding? Of the recruiting and all, but it's funny Pete Carroll. When he came to USC, I remember being on a plane in Mexico with a buddy. And we were laughing at the move like they just had Paul Hackett. He was an NFL guy well. Why are they going after NFL guys? I didn't think Pete. Carroll is GonNa make I said he does he know how to recruit? He's out in the East Coast, Herm, Edwards was out in the east coast and he's been. He's really been quite a success for Arizona State. He's very good in the room. The players love him. He's built a really really good recruiting staff. They've rebuilt the stadium in Tempe and a herm. Edwards is joining me. There are few people I've ever worked with that have left more of an imprint, common indelible imprint on watching him lead watching him talk. He's an entertainer. And this is one of the reasons. Arizona State's recruiting has been unbelievable. By the way you know. We're talking about all these quarterbacks. They got a kid named Jaden Daniels play last year as a true freshman, all folks. In about two years Jaden Daniels, will not this trap a two drafts from that as a true junior Jaden Daniels. Maybe the number one player picked by the way Herm as a defensive guy. How did you convince? A unbelievable quarterback to come to your defensive in running program. How'd you do that? L. This is where you have to make him understand. That is any head coach. He's only as good as a quarterback has. Just guide that just left the New England Captain America Guy Yeah. His coaches the the guy. Right you once told me herm. You said I remember this. We were ESPN together New said Colin. If I'd had a healthy quarterback I wouldn't be broadcasting sitting next to you. I'd be in the League you. You had a lot of success. You know it's funny. Because here comes the draft and I liked Joe Borough. He's a nice player, but good God. The LSU team was loaded. I like to, but there's the injury, but I wanNA. Talk About Justin Herbert. You've faced him twice and you gave him fits. Boy in Tempe it was a mess for him. You're intercepted four times in two games one one. You lost one, but let's go back to this. You brought NFL concepts to the College Game Arizona State. What did you throw at Justin? Herbert? That both times confused him well. I think you know all quarterbacks Their ability to read your mail. Before pre snap. Help them. we try to disguise coverage on. gave him. Some different looks up front. Four statements force them into some meltdowns to as well Colin, you know. When I when I think the known downs. In division where he has to throw some yeah. and. What we've been. Fortunate up early in. The game we bought question. and. That got him uncomfortable a little bit I think the guy has tremendous skillset, big and strong athletic. I thought we saw his athleticism roles. Yes, yes, when he ran. You know people can run that good. He can run. You can avoid got a strong arm you know, but but the colony logos and I've said this many a time when I was on. Your show is back in the worldwide leader that both quarterback system needs. Ninety percent of them league. Yeah, and I think we're ever. These guys go with his job girl with her love, with Herbert with his to. What? What what? The, are the coordinators or the quarterback coach willing to build a system around the kids skill set because if they're not gonNA fail the prime examples. Say What you want. Is the got. It plays for the rams now. All of a sudden. The skillset. And Development that guy was built around what he could do well. Yeah, it's first couple of years. Everybody did this guy's buck. Well all that he comes in he in. A little bit around with this guy to do pretty good quarterback. Right. Yeah he does a jared. Goff of course, a very beautiful beautiful got a lot of Matt Ryan qualities. He tells an incredibly catchable ball. Probably a better long ball than Matt Ryan hasn't become a very very good quarterback. So. When you look at this draft, you were a defensive guy. You are a very good corner in the NFL and college, so that would lead me to believe boy. If he was running to franchise the jets and the chiefs. He would know defensive guys, but then I think you faced offensive guys, so maybe you're better at knowing offensive guys when you were with the chiefs and the jets. What did you feel most comfortable drafting? Well. I kind of in a position because I came into lead. As a part time coach but a scout. So. I learned how to evaluate players. And the first thing I did I remember going to training camp with the chiefs. My first time there Howard mudd was the offensive line coach weight off into line. And do enough.

"Is the way that he is The motorsport background certainly helps boy. He's talking about somebody's competitiveness. Sometimes you need an example in exhibit A. Which borough would be this video that really went viral on Social Media? Which was a competition drill at Ohio state and Matt drill involving tire? This video went viral and Bucky. You've got a chance to talk to. Jk Dobbins Jordan Palmer and chase young about it now. The tide drill is is is a drug because does he surrounds the team at the end of a match real. You know the the team. The whole team is watching. He'll call to people and they'll go against each other and he called Joe Borough up in the actually called a bigger body. Like up against him in his shoe comes off. He's fighting like He. He started off in. The Guy was beating him and he comes back shoes. All he's still you can see the first competitor in at the end when he beat. The Guy is pretty high. I just think that's a testament to competitiveness. And it's easy to say right he's ripping the tire the guy's hands and he wants it more than the other guy. We don't know who that other guy is right. We Lost Shoe battle through it. Cool I just think if you're a competitor. Then it's in every face. I worked with young players. I'd say if you're going to see if you call your competitor you'd better be competing in the classroom. You can't pick and choose where you want to compete right. You can't say well I. I'm really good at running sprints in the offseason with my buddies that's easy. Do you compete in every phase And with joy I see it. I mean he goes masters. I mean when you get your masters and you know you're going to the League you're you're not doing it to further your education and set yourself up for success to go sell insurance down the road like that's not what you're doing. You're doing it because I have a chance to get my masters and no one else's I wanna do is calm before quarterback Jeff and be asked to participate in stuff a different do. Here's the thing like The ultimate sign of respect that a quarterback can give from his teammates is really feel like he's one of those guys and I think the reaction that you heard from Dobbins in young he was Joe. Borough was treated like one of the guys. He was respected because of the feistiness to resilience to toughness. All of those things and then with Jordan Palmer just talked about how he's wired that way to be competitive into want to Succeed in every aspect whether it's on the field or off feel think the met drill story just kind of like Highlights dead it highlights who he is and what. He is a competitor. I love it. I mean we always talk about that Steve Young Line right over my dead body. We'RE GONNA LOSE THIS GAME. That type of competitiveness and that shows up in every drill that he's done both there and at at Lsu stories we heard there as well Speaking of Lsu Buck. You also had a chance to catch up with the quartet of his teammates there with the Tigers when you're talking about running back in Clyde Edwards Allaire tied Thaddeus Moss or receiver and just Jefferson Edge. Rusher Kayla von Chason Here's your conversation with his four. Lsu teammates your quarterback. Joe Borough is. Is something remarkable? This may be the finest football season that we've seen from college football quarterback Yep What makes you borough special? The way the way he the way he analyzes things in a way prepares. And that's what it comes down to Joe Is Joe is a guy who was in the facility. It's in the morning and leaving after everybody else He is he is the ultimate of NFL quarterback. And that's how he that's how he displayed yourself. You know through college. And he's going to continue to do it. So how does your their Lsu the entire time Joe? Kinda shows up A season ago. It is uncommon for transferred to kind of come in and be a starter right away. How do you earn the respect of his team-mates? The biggest thing I think that they they caught everybody. By surprise Devon White was was was chirping at him at a practice And Joe Started. You Know Joe started coming back at them and ultimately guy who's Pretty much just transferred in and has you know he has the he's he had the leadership role immediately He showed you know he's he's not scared of anything and Devon ultimately was doing it to make to make sure you know. This is the guy that we want to play quarterback from that point on everything just took off. It's funny that you bring up Devon White Devon white to me. They told me he. He was kind of the godfather down in terms of like he bless everybody before they were brought into the fold and so when Joe Goes and does that. It also speaks to his competitiveness. How COMPETITORS JOE? Probably the most competitive person they didn't you ever meet And you know for the most part. He'll here's sit back and and not really say anything. But when when it's when it's time and that balls on a field is on so it's funny because watching a bunch of your games and watching you guys go on. His magic runs national title. Usc gained where it wasn't necessarily that the game was hanging in the balance. Joe Has some NIP and Tuck affairs. They were kind of physical and at some point. You need a guy to make it play. It seemed like he was one of the catalysts to you guys being able to make plays like. Where does that come from? Z. Common Huddle House. He those critical situations. I think we we probably had the most calm. Jojo calm demeanor about offense. We've had on And being able to being able to have they got who you know if he needed to take over and make a play run the ball. Roses scared to get hit. Something that's rare and a quarterback. It is a rare. You know the things where is ready much. You guys genuinely loved. One of the things that stood out is when he would get awards honors on the field. You guys will be right there. Like generally supporting him and sometimes it doesn't happen so it must be something special about him and the connection that you got her I mean we. We don't look Asia. There's teammates Ultimately in there we were brothers. And that's just that's just how the mode of it is And you can tell you. Know him coming into Louisiana and understanding. No is is different down. South southern hospitality is real and I think it was. It was more more intense than our locker room and understanding. You know we need to come together. And we we have this guy who's ultimately going to going to miss it all a lot of the conversations around the jober. Canada revolves around his competitiveness Give me an example that the competitive nature of Joe Borough that you wouldn't I mean I'll just I'll just keep it easy to hits. The he took the hits that he took during the season you know he embraces him he will not slide. And he's a quarterback that will not slide no matter what everybody says you need to start sliding won't slide. He likes taking a hit Probably the biggest one was to Auburn. Auburn game on the sideline. He's run on the sideline and do cleans impose. I think it was a penalty to claim. He gets right back. It was hard hit two. He got right back up with a smile on his face and like embraced it. And you know the team does not like we just naturally rally around you know rally around him being Lsu physicality and Tubman is naturally in our DNA But yeah after that. Hit know everybody just riding around them. It is funny. Because you talk about his competitiveness and then it naturally viewers to his leadership ability. What leaders jober one of the best leaders? I've been around You know everybody's just naturally just naturally You know follow him. He can hear he'll lead by example You know an all season. The Way Room during the during the game and he'll be vocal way needs to be vocal. I think the best I think the best story of him and his leadership is when he first got to Lsu You know a lot of a lot of people felt some type of way when he got there. Because we had some quarterbacks transfer and stuff so some guys felt some type way and we had a player a players only meeting and he got up in front of that. He got him in front of the team and was like. Hey guys. Look you know if I'm starting quarterback okay. But if I'm the second second-string third string quarterback you know what I'm GonNa do whatever it takes to help you all win foot and helped his team win football games. Um You know. It doesn't matter if on starting or I'm on the bench and I'm GonNa give you give you all everything I got and ever since that day on everybody was like okay like you like you know. We're wrong with him from there. Talk a little bit about what makes them so special. His leadership his leadership and his work ethic dizzy. Stan Fan after practice and getting those extra reps are in the media up on Saturdays and having More routes to run so Just him coming in and being at that guy from Ohio not knowing anybody and then coming in running our team so He did a great job in Last season and he bought US national. It's funny so you talked about him. Coming from Ohio. Nine hundred ninety one but Ernie your respect. What was it about him? How did he go earn? Spent Johann Swagger Just that that confidence that he had an I mean we were confident in him as well so Him every game just being focused in just not showing any fear. Just not being nervous That helped us out as a team and Just having that confidence with him in a going into the game and knowing that he's going to put those throws exactly what you want. It is funny because I can tell you. Guys really really liked because when he would get awards and honors when you see the reaction of the teammates. It seemed like you guys were all in like a genuine affinity for him. Did you guys really respect him? And all the things because sometimes that situation can be different. People are envious but it seemed like you guys generally liked him cared about how. Yes we all love Joe Just from him is especially have that connection with him. 'cause WE KINDA came from the same backgrounds is not being highly recruited Just being one of those those talented players that don't have that they highrise like you know most people do so Just him being kind of like and just seeing him Received THOSE AWARDS. And you know. Just being with me to win these Games and winning National Championships. So we're definitely excited for them. What makes a special player? How is he able to kind of earn? You guys respect so quickly at Lsu. So when. Joe Joe. Cain WE Had to other quarterbacks that transferred in that fall camping Especially going into the season. Where a lot of things are changing for us but the team wonder and when when all that was going on talked to the team this was look man. I'm not here to be anybody's Competition anybody's anybody's enemy. But I'm here just for you. I'm here for these. I'm here for the same reason. You Guys WanNa win. I WANNA I WANNA get to the next level and I don't mean anything that any harm any personal to twain. Anybody has any person for the sword. Need it at the end of the day? I just met you guys. You guys are my brothers. And I'm trying to do everything which I vetoed guys anyway. And when it comes to weight room and on a field. Joe's when the toughest guys and not the toughest on on field as far as when. I say that anytime anytime anything's Gonna. Let's say it's a physical fight between offense at D? Line Joe is head I saw. When did you say he's all about us? And he's he's a brother in no matter. How many accolades he. He's always been most ombudsperson possible. Who's a better basketball? You buy for me. Let me Joe Joe. Joe Is exception. Joe's state I mean. I know you took some time off like in high school and played Joel stores exception. But I'm great. I'm telling you if I get in the gym I like. I have swamped twenty three. Okay so when I when I looked at the little chute off with the semifinals. Yes right right leg. I was in the lineup scored the second most points behind. Joe Joe Things. Everybody wants to see a quarterback. That's what it is. They make sure account. Okay so you say between you and him that you would win. Joe's.

"During that time I think joe his patience eventually paid off because he was a good team player developed a lot of great friendships and still stays in touch with with a lot of those guys. Plus the coaches. I mean they respected the way. He handled that whole situation coach. He makes the decision to go to. Lsu New team new environment. Where advice did you give him along the way we can handle being the leader of a new squad where we we talked a lot about. You know not not going in there and try to Overdo. It not not going there. And he was never a big talker anyway but just You know my buys knowing that we experienced that at at the the places I had coached people coming in and fill just work hard and earn the team's respect by by working hard and kind of keeping a low profile. Initially until again you Kinda Make your presence known. I think those were were things that that he took to heart. When we talk about it and you know I've read Different things over the past. Couple of years where. That's exactly what he did he he. He worked hard. He won the sprint. Twenty could he did. Everything worked hard extra after practice and and was it was a good team member in the locker room but not to the point where hey. I just came from Ohio State. I'm the guy here. He knew he had to earn earn that respect and earned that position. Which eventually did maybe put the father to the side? Put your football coach hat on. What do you tribute just enormous leap? You saw from Joe this year. We always thought especially from the first year. A young man play whether it was his freshman or sophomore year. There's a great amount of improvement just from the experience factor that second year and Joe hadn't played football really in a game very much for for three years so that first year was a was a learning experience. I mean He. He didn't even know. Some of the guys names. I don't think by the time they. They rolled in that camp in the summer. So that was a tough deal and eat pretty much went. Went through everything. You could possibly go through that that one ear is first year at Lsu playing Alabama and getting shot out playing those those top teams and finding a way to win seven overtimes so all that adds up to to really confidence. That kind of started showing in Fiesta Ball and then they come in with Joe Brady and and coaches mangled. I decided to retool the offense and they had done that at Athens. High School in job became a sophomore because at Joe's ability and his teammates around him that were all Great Receiver so they put in basically the same offense that you saw Lsu so when when joe found out that that's what they were going to do they were going to spread you out. They were going to go up. Tempo. There we're going to go to know backs that was just in in Enjoys Wheelhouse and then so he was fired up about that from the start he was fired up about Joe. Brady J. T. Barrett had played under him at New Orleans and and giving them a thumbs up before before. Joe Grade even even Joe Borough so there was a lot going into it and then and then you had Get no guys in in space. The great receivers because of that offense even Joe. More more responsibility. At the at the line of scrimmage and and his confidence just continue to grow Every game as well as tame but as a coach. I'm up there watching from a from a defense standpoint. Trying to figure out what I would do and I didn't have any better answers than anybody else Either but it was it was. It was a was a fun thing to watch. I mean you could go down player by player at each position and each unit and just so much improvement without whole tame individually and collectively as the team was pretty amazing leaning on your defense background it has to be advantageous for Joe to be able to pick up the phone or sit across. You're just GonNa talk about Defense and coverage schemes How much does being coach's son benefit Joe just from your mission in your experience does I mean? I didn't like making sit down and watch Phil but but water times starting in third grade. I might not be able to see the games or I didn't see a lot of them. They did play at Ohio. University third fourth fifth and Sixth Grade. So my office was overlooking the stadium. I'd get a chance to watch. And then I hired our video guy to film upstairs the game just like Bob Cats so that was an advantage in the fire. Were home owner Thursday night. I'd say Joe You WanNa Watch the film. And and most of the time he did. I didn't make him. I didn't grinding mile. Maybe I wouldn't want them all players in film session. We talked about coverage we talked about. Hey why don't you make that throw? Maybe you should know made that particular read and and continued all the way through high school and then just just joe watching how hard It it kind of the work ethic. It took not only to to be a player but to be a coach. I think that all kind of added up and independent to being the son of a of a football coach will not only. Did you have advantage of having a father who coach but father who played father? Who went and played professional football? Have you told him about this? Nextstep it's another whole level. Now you're getting ready to take on and that's exactly what I told limits it it's a it's a new level. It's a different level. You can't expect success just because you had success at an Lsu. There's a learning that goes to any position specially quarterback and and you just got to work at it's GonNa take extra film Session and Film study like like he did in college but yeah it's a lot different even even throwing the NFL football with the first day that he actually through and and he said hey this this is a little different. He's he's feels really good at it now but little things like that and then It does become more of a business. And all those things as you said. Just just takes it to a whole `nother level as a as a player coach. I can let you go without talking about Joe's competitiveness. Do you have any stories from his childhood. That were kind of illustrate his competitive. Spirit well he he definitely never liked to lose and I've spoken about this this particular incident one other time. It's not. It's not one of my favorite Parenting things because it involves sportsmanship but he had a baseball game championship Is One of the twins that were Basically as best friends they they did every sport where they might recruited under Ohio University. They're starting to tight ends. They are now but we're walking off the field and and I saw one of the twins just dropped his second place trophy in the in the garbage can and his his parents. Kinda got on him and I'm thinking well at least Joe's not not doing that and then so I got home. And he went. Upstairs wasn't saying very much and so. I walked upstairs. And we're going to talk a little about you. Know the game. Maybe pump him up a little and he had dismantled the second team trophy so I didn't do much better teaching sportsmanship but just hated to lose. And he's been very fortunate in high school and in college to be surrounded by a great group of teammates and that was a big part of this year to is just their Their willingness to do whatever it takes to win and how bad day they really hated to lose and Mike Connors played out. They didn't even have to experience a loss this year but they learned from from those last year but he's always been a competitor We had some Christmas Time Pingpong Games with the family and and even even now. We'll still get down there if we all get together. And play some ping pong the competitiveness When you talk about dismantling that Second Place Baseball Trophy I. I can't get enough of that no I I can't get enough and I also think the influenced Jerry rural experience at Nebraska had on the way that he Brought Joe up in terms of like way to be played the confidence that he play with but also humility. We talk about the competitiveness all those things.

"Talk about a competitive maniac job early. Hey everybody it's Daniel Jeremiah. For move the sticks. I'm Lucky Brooks and this is Joe. Boroughs three sixty for all throws over the top. What's Day for a touchdown? Borough keeps it own town putting Joe. Thank you guys for joining us today. This is it really is my favorite time of the year as we're getting close to the NFL draft and we crank out these three sixty episodes and if you're catching us for the first time the way this works is we take a couple players every year and we do a deep dive. And I mean a deep dive. I'm talking about talking to to all kinds of folks to learn more about the player as well as we discussed in our own evaluation of the player in this Yearbook Joe Borough coming off arguably the best season. We've ever seen from a college quarterback and the likely number one overall pick with Cincinnati bengals Barney trade but we have We have done work on this episode in terms of guests than anyone we've ever done. Yeah I mean we. We have a ton of people coming on. We could talk to Jimmy Borough. Who is his dad but a Longtime D. coordinator in college football urban? Meyer joins US National Championship coach Goes Mental State We talked to his. Lsu TEAMMATES KIRK HER STREET JOINS US Jordan Palmer renowned quarterback guru joins us and we also talk to the man himself jober before we get to our first guest here buck just off the top. The first impression you had of Joe Borough this year I would say Probably that Lsu Game Primetime Game Lsu Texas game. I should say was the coming out. Party for Joe Burrow back at it came to the end Jefferson striking. Yeah absolutely was coming out party Joe Burrow head arguably the best season that we've ever seen a quarterback at the college level Everything that he did from beginning to end just suggested that he was the dominant player. You wash deploys. The charisma the toughness Not to mention the way that he played the position. He looked like a superstar. And I think You just typically don't see people have this kind of jump in production and performance from one year to the next Joe Borough special and he showed special skills and special traits Throughout the season leading Lsu to the national title. And I just think when you just look at the way that he plays and the confidence daddy plays with on top of the intangible qualities that we learned about him. He's just a phenomenal player. And you would think that his success As a collegiate all star is going to translate very well to the next level. I think when you look at what he does well. It's a vision is his superpower and this year. Getting more guys out into the route Previously it was a lot of six-man protections seven-man protection in two thousand eighteen and twenty one thousand nine hundred over eighty percents of the snaps book. They were getting everybody out. Five-man protection let him see and survey the field make good decisions and accurately throw the football and And he did it at such an elite level. I don't know that we've seen anything like it so Joe Borough Fund player to study. And we've got a chance now to visit with some people that can give us a greater insight into the LSU quarterback starting with his father. Jimmy Borough Jimmy. A longtime collegiate coach. Defensive Coordinator played at Nebraska. There's a there's a long family history with the Nebraska Corn husker program as you're GONNA learn as we go through this episode. But here's our conversation with Jimmy. Borough how did the lessons learned there at Nebraska? Help you pass on some knowledge to Joe. Verve when he came to it. How did you pass that onto your son's there's a Nebraska away so so to speak you don't you don't do a lot of talking when when you're playing and coaching there there's not a lot of bad language going around the as far as the playing field. Just you know. That's typical coach Osborne so my coaching flaws feet Played out a lot because of the things I learned from from coach Osborne and then certainly when I would coach my my older boys who coached both of them My years in high school You know you just stand up to teach and preach the way that coach Osborne did. And that's to respect your opponent but but play play with confidence and and certainly play to win. But it's not it's it's not the end of the world. If you do lose. He was always trying to teach lessons When when we did lose weren't many losses but Same thing with Joe just Growing up tried to get him to To to respect you know coaches respect players that he played against be a great teammate. And again those are all things that are pretty much in the culture and Nebraska. The whole time I was there an all time coach. Osborne coached COCCIA. I'm curious having older brothers. Joe Did that were successful college players. What was that that competitiveness like With them with the brothers. And how much did that toughen him up? I know as a younger brother. I have an older brothers at toughened up a little bit. They always made sure that he in you to play the game physical and and to to be a great competitor and they were all. We were all defensive players but maybe that's the reason some sometimes people say Joe Place quarterback like a like a linebacker because he he learned from from our experiences on on defense he did like to the play defense also. I think that was a growing up. That was because of of the family tree and on defense even tried to get coach. Meyer to do when he wasn't actually playing quarterback as a backup he tried to get a Kerry combs the special teams coordinator in coach mired. Let him run down kickoff so I think just growing up and being in a football family and listened to the stories with with Jamie and Dan and of course me as a coach really helped him kind of evolved into the player that he is. How important was it for you to make sure that he played multiple sports growing up? Well there's all kinds of different Physical Movements and the different sports baseball basketball football. I think that's multiple sports help. You develop into whatever one you you'll eventually choose to play in this case football. It just another lesson to him. Growing up to how to be a great teammate. In in those different sports and I think really the the number one thing was you. You never know which which sports you're going to end up being the best and I mean we. We thought Joe was going to be a basketball player. A lot of people thought his best ball is actually baseball. And then all of a sudden you end up a football player so I think that's important just to kind of find your way and then the last thing I think is just a just to make sure that you don't have a lot of idle time. I mean Joe. He loves playing video games. So that growing up you always saying. Hey you're playing video game but when you're when you're a multiple sport play or that that limits a lot of that time when you're just downstairs playing video games so I think that all ends up to to really be an positive. I know as a coach when I'm recruiting someone. I loved it when they were multiple sports players and and basketball. I used to go to many basketball games to watch Watch a young man play and you can tell a lot about as competitive spirit is as well as athletic ability from watching other sports coach or those conversations like between you and show When when he's wait there at Ohio state you know and having to sit and how do you keep him from being frustrated and still focusing on trying to get better each and every day when you're not getting out there on the game field now that was that was kind of frustrating for for Joe and his parents his mom and I certainly felt his his frustration? We'll talk to him on the phone so as parents just try to keep him upbeat tell him that he would get an opportunity at some point to remain confident and I think that's where his older brothers Jamie Dan to had had the influence he would be on the phone with those guys and and you know Jamie had to wait his turn at at Nebraska behind Jay Former Carlos poked up to play and so their experiences are really really helped. Joe Through it Yeah it was. It was not a fun time but.

"The face of the franchise like Joe burrow could potentially be that is the first step towards becoming relevant because to becoming good but you look around that if the north Roethlisberger might be four pounds was back Lamar Jackson is probably you have another chip on his shoulder after what happened this past year after an incredible run then you look at the Browns will they ever be able to figure it out who knows but they have a chance it's like that if the north is gonna be very good you're gonna have to be good to compete there to get into the dance well Joe burrow take them over that hump this year I don't think so but in the next couple years made the now the jokes come out and said this the draft now the fun starts at number three probably with the lines do they take to it as a trade out because use of Jay Shah is going over to the red skins well we all know how Detroit Lions fans feeling totally Foxy we say we don't want to we don't want to we got a quarterback let's keep moving around why don't have Matthew Stafford play for a year here with a broken freakin have to sit behind them learn a little bit and then you know when Matt Patricia negatively gets fired or or promoted no I mean okay he's gonna have to win this year yeah mattress is gonna happen I think he knows that we don't know that he's nobody thought is gonna get another year because the Detroit Lions are quick with the trigger on if you don't have success which means they don't have success for the long term because they just don't buy anything pan out I think they're trying to let this pan out with Matt Patricia but if he doesn't win next year it's gonna be very hard for them to keep him around yet again it's gonna be very very very hard we love Matt Patricia right but it's gonna be difficult for them to do that too and his family have openly stated that if we go to the lions and we get drafted by an organization that is ultimately going to be changes one year from now all of a sudden the Hawaiian kit the writer who throws lefty is going to be stuck in a little bit of a limbo little purgatory situation if the next organization the next head coach next one office doesn't want him which is a hundred percent clear statement by them but they have zero control missile thing I still think you try to get into I mean I like we talked about that division the quarterbacks are getting older if he if he if they manage to keep him happy for the next like three four years then they have a very bright future with him it worked out in the division with Farman Rogers Zach Lee yeah the great leader gets a break I'm very intrigued by these young quarterbacks his stats and.

"Who's very exciting style wise so is Joe burrow now only two runs around to a climbs a pocket like crazies all looking at you okay here we go climb we're excited and over here we go with the A. gap top off the defense I just say to is a lot more exciting children Joe Burgess drops back and throws touchdowns did did you want still growing only on the two last last two games yeah of course all it does is it'll run for a fourth year civil two is so interesting to watch for is always lefty I feel like two is a way more and more credit because he's left handed yeah well yeah but I'm not a lawyer that we all that what I think is I am phenomenons about of Zayn was a righty you think we'd all be intimate like this I think because he can jump not because he's left handed there is that there's an appeal to let the athletes are always has but he's not he's not a stylistic left hander what when I would no I'm a no two is but designs not exile doesn't have Chris Smalling shot and you don't have a good shot there's nothing where you go boy that is pure like left handed batters left handed shooters they all felt like there was less effort I can Griffey junior was like wow that is just effortless where is it felt like a right handed batter it felt like it was more of a grass to move their left handed shooters Gail Goodrich like you see guys who just had a beautiful stroke even big men Bob Lanier had a beautiful stroke yep on off the top of your head who you say is more of a running quarterback tua Tagovailoa our job chill girl everyone agreed that Monica Levin doesn't two of his last healthy season in fifteen games ran the ball fifty seven times fifty seven times for a hundred ninety yards Joe burrow one hundred twenty eight times for four hundred yeah Joe burrow to me as as athletic as to me too is not a runner she was it's just like Russell Wilson he's not a runner he just has this capability he extends plays Joe burrow was I mean he made moves some of the biggest place he had this past year we're a couple of runs that he had you know I thought about that with the exciting that's to a like there's something it's fun to watch him he just sort of moved around and does different things you're not going to get me to say anything negative about two of the borough has swag to him and it it feels like he's just as athletic if not more so than to in my opinion from what I saw is a sneaky athletic or do you know I'm not even going there sneaky athletic you know for a white guy no he's just athletic it's like I always go back to the you know they go you know Andrew luck is kinda sneaky athletic I don't know he's just as athletic if not more so than cam Newton and I think it was faster than cam Newton like Manny he counted but you can run a little bit meanwhile can you like well you can really run the home it's we get in these silly comments there you go it's same thing you're doing with Joe burrow Joe burrows an athlete it really is yeah one at the shelters highlights all my god it's pretty straightforward you're a hater because he's got unbelievable quarterback but it's not like it's just like classic awesome quarterback play where it's it's like it's just never be short is kind of funny look and it's like everything is an orthodox about two I wouldn't feel if you said to is healthy I'm fine going into battle against you if you have Joe burrow I'm okay with that but I do understand this and this is something that if you look at the success stories with somebody's quarterback Mahomes who knows what Mahomes would be if you didn't go to cancer still wonderful talent if dak Prescott doesn't end up with Dallas who knows what dak Prescott's doing right now he's probably backing somebody up Russell Wilson although I think Russ bill people probably misidentified his leadership qualities like that dude walks onto the field and he is confident cocky deshaun Watson Houston's a playoff team Lamar Jackson Baltimore's a playoff caliber team your success is really predicated a lot of ways of how good is the team that I'm going to because Kyler Murray was unbelievable this year in my opinion I thought he he far exceeded what our expectations were because he played for a bad line a new coach and he even still was dangerous it's who you go and play for that matters a whole lot here with sustainability that Prescott's probably not starting in the NFL if he doesn't go to the Dallas Cowboys it's just not he might be James Winston type of player by the way the.

"Joe burrow is not exactly giving eagles fans lot a whole peer when asked whether he was going to play for the Cincinnati Bengals if they drafted him his quote was all play for whoever wants to pay me to play I absolutely believe that there is a growing probability I should say probability because that that suggests that it's more likely than not but there's a growing possibility growing chance that Joe borough and Joe burrows dad tell the bangles do not draft us now we had Carson Palmer on the show radio row Superbowl week and Carson Palmer told us that he thought he could change it around in Cincinnati he got drafted number one overall after Heisman he had the youthful arrogance to say I can do this and ultimately he realized I can't that's why I wanted out is I don't I don't I never felt like the organization was really trying to win a Superbowl on really chasing the Superbowl because that's that's what today's day and age is that the game today is you can't just hope you draft well in and not not go after free agents and you just you end up in the Superbowl you got to go get it and I then went in play for Michael Bidwill in Arizona and Michael was all about winning it everything was about winning the the culture was about winning and and we you know very fortunately unite the year before I got tears on I think they'd want a couple games or three or four games and Michael Bidwell Doug's feet in the ground and and I saw on owner say we're gonna go after we're gonna go after this way we're gonna do what it takes to win and at the end of the day when owners do what it takes to win and and have that type of mentality and everybody's on board you know I I I saw right before my eyes it feels like there's a a louder drum beat by the day of borough not playing for the bangles now I don't know I mean this also takes into account not caring if your persona non grata and the villain and remember the Jo Bros from southern Ohio not exactly just down the road from Cincinnati but a couple of hours drive so he's gonna take goodwill within his own home state and flushed down the toilet to force his way out of town when the Bengals have the number one pick I would not resent job or what all if you did this because successful quarterbacking often times is about being surrounded by the right people and circumstance you know drew Brees have you gone to the dolphins probably not a hall of Famer he goes to the sink the saints he's a first ballot can't guy Tom Brady could got drafted by thirty one other teams he ends up with the best defensive mind perhaps ever in NFL history on a veteran team that had a great defense that was in the Superbowl for five years earlier Dan Marino what is perhaps the most gifted a pastor and a full history and he went to a Superbowl when the team actually had vestiges of a good defense as soon as he gets into the middle of his career and they can't draft well and they can't support him he never sniffs another Super Bowl so if Joe Berle looks at this in his dad played professional football in Canada knows the game no to the sport if Joe Barone is dad like Archie manning thought about Eli Hey I don't want you in a New Orleans Saints nineteen eighty situation that I was in John Elway refused to go to the Baltimore colts ends up in Denver if Joe burrows dad says I could see the writing on the wall I don't I don't watch plane there because it's going to be a mass and bro have the stomach to be the villain in his own home state then I would have no problem with him saying no I'm not doing it because the bangles have never proven that they are willing to build a winner around a player now they've had some good teams but they were never willing to go the extra mile and Zach Taylor make you believe that he's a guy that's going to get things turned around Mike brown is a penny pincher everybody in the NFL knows that they have the most shallow scouting department in the NFL the oftentimes draft well but in terms of investment in your infrastructure and doing what it takes to win super bowls the Bengals have never been known how to do that never been known and Mike brown is looked at is probably the cheapest owner in the sport if burrows says you know I can't win here and I'm not gonna play there I can't blame who knows what his heart is Carson Palmer said a one man can't do it alone and this Bingle seems a really bad right now eight five five two one two four CBS the phone number eight five five two one two four two two seven Scott to North Carolina one hundred point three good morning Scott are you doing today I'm good how you doing very good I just won't give everybody on that so props for doing a really good job what's nice of you thank you hello we love I love you in the morning now it's great the sometimes we get in person conversations with the kids on the way to school because the all but Marantz does a great job are they are they tough conversations or fun conversations teaching moments are assumed yeah yeah and I'm it's great I am an hour so it's all about it's great that you're talking about baseball right now but it says that what we're talking about you know I think though that ultimately this is actually been slightly good for baseball even though all world and we've all been very critical it's kind of impossible not to be really critical of rob man Fred the lack of punishment the fact that baseball has this kind of really juicy story now does make it far more interesting because without the Astros cheating scandal I don't know how many people are really all that excited for twenty twenty baseball eight five five two one two four two two seven Twitter D. A. on CBS so it's good to have a major bogus back mark ability was great Brad hello was very very good but nothing like having bogus back to kind series here with heavy guitar licks and sports headlines good morning Andrew well I appreciate you saying that Damon I didn't really make sense from day one Giambi line leaving all is college success to take over the rebuilding Cavaliers that flawed marriages ending after just fifty four games with the team and coach reportedly reaching a settlement for the rest of this season the line's contract was for five years with it with an annual average value of four million dollars assisting JB Bickerstaff we promoted to head coach full time nets guard chi removing it will not return to the all star break tomorrow with the rest of his teammates serving again dealing with shoulder discomfort and we'll see a specialist this week that shoulders already cost chi re twenty six games this season he also missed the five games going into the all star break with a sprained knee and veteran guard Reggie Jackson bought out in Detroit he'll sign with the clippers once he clears waivers stern of that stirs the straw that stirs the clippers that Reggie Jackson that Reggie Jackson yeah yes clippers get better little deeper than I guess US six top ten teams in action last night in college hoops only number nine Penn state didn't win.
