"It happening this year. Well, here's here's my question. See when do you offer first like you thing? I mean isn't it kind of obvious now that they use remember in the last couple men games where you could in the revamped career mode where you could start out as callback accounts play on one of so many teams. Yeah, right on Alabama or Clemson or whatever right, Texas, Oregon where some of them off like it clear that that was a precursor to this like we're seeing what level of excitement people get just by being able to play with college teams. Maybe without Real Player. Yeah, right. Play fairly apparent that that this that was a test run to and either either was an intentional testerone or somebody was like Hey people really like this. What if we did this off, you know, and and it took off from someone who doesn't really understand American football or college football or anything like that. Why isn't this just part of mandatory? Like why is it specifically have a whole separate as they can make extra money. There's that well and and there's a hundred twenty teams in division one college, right? Okay, so there's enough constant at 2 to 4, but the gameplay is that going to be all right. Recently, I would argue - Ultimate Team the college football games were deeper games than that 100% because you actually had to like recruit and that was that took a long like strategy with with how much were you going to spend against so many hours a week or whatever that you can spend depending on your level and how prestigious your school was. I think an Choi Got to choose what do I want to try to like go after this five-star recruit and spend a lot or go after a bunch of like three stars. It was really fun Tyler like last thing on this cuz obviously there's not a lot of news How likely is it on a scale of 1 to 10 that we get an ultimate team where they put guys that are in the NFL and legends like college football legends car crash. Yeah, and that's going to be unfortunate and if they they were alien. Yeah, they were already doing it spent the most time doing that than like actually making a good football game that's going to be disappointing as going to be so disheartening, but they will 100% have ultimate even this game because that's the way you're going to be able to put like actual name that we recognize into this. So you're going to see a Barry Sanders Trevor Lawrence from his Oklahoma State days and Trevor Moran Fraternal Order or liner vintage. That was my dog. The guy who are the guy from LSU that Cincinnati now Joe Burrell, you know all of that to ride from Bama you're going to see all of that song game well recent and going backs in the past. So yeah a hundred percent you're you're going to see that. Well, let's see what happens in when this game comes out. But yeah, that's a big big deal cuz and she double A like you mentioned is more popular than Madden or at least was so let's see what that last like so that that doesn't for the news enough. There's a couple quick hits. So first off Prince of Persia the sands of time got delayed again this time in definitely that's probably good instead of just delaying it like every couple of months. So we'll see how long how long it takes to get that Google shut down its internal stadia game Studio that was really fast on the trigger, but Stadium will continue to operate as a platform for third place. Games, I guess no likely. Is it real quick that Xbox and and then kind of partner with each other if XBox affects Cloud becomes more like popular. I couldn't even partnering with each other for war handles. Well that are just yet running as like a cloud thing or something like that. They're going to incorporate into the same. Yes. I I didn't really think the question out that room death what I asked it just popped in my head. But yes, I just want to talk to say x cloud has been a thing Microsoft been focused on and stadia is kind of the closest thing that I have PlayStation under have something like that seconds and with Google shutting their game studios down and it just being a third party thing. I could see them potentially working close with each other. Yeah. I figure Xbox of the company making the most progress in the cloud doing is things I've already got an Android room is because it's concerns events this year off. I'm at the rumored frequencies you this year? I don't know how to uncomfortable as well fairly sit down. And so you can just like click on a date in the game plus no load up straight away on download it and I thought maybe the opponent should have been to try and make sure Amazon don't get a foothold in the car game industry like a partnership with your Xbox and Google to try and block numbers and out, but I don't know how much a partnership benefits Xbox. We have a sickening outside of getting a bigger place but games like I don't think it mostly benefits them. Yeah, I mean I can see that. So yeah, I am just thought OverWatch to in Diablo for are not going to launch the 2021. That's unfortunate. I was really hoping to have before would be coming soon. So I took so long that's going to take but again we've talked before we're going to see a lot of games be delayed. Um, so yeah, there will be another premium COD released this fall off based on Activision's earnings call so curious what that's going to look like and then finally Xbox is Aaron Greenberg wants to collaborate with Elon Musk and Tesla to make an warthog from Halo in real life. So, you know, that's cool. I think it's going to be one of those things that are only make like one or two of them. I I don't know maybe they'll make them for a lot of people to try. Ever make the like the SUV Tesla imagine looking out windows in like a warthog drive down the road. Well, I mean like a boat or on the back and they made body kit like warthog life, but still ran like the song s u v i could see everything right? Well, like people people by the Halo edition Xbox and people are buying the Halo edition Tesla. Exactly and I know like Tesla Elon Musk, I put like made certain games playable in Tesla's be funny. You could you know, put the warthog in and then play the Forza 4 Horizon for like warthog run or play. Hey little one on the way and this is what that's going to do for a quick hits and then just news in general. We're Brett we brought back questions though. We're bringing it back. Would you like sci-fi? Oh, yeah forgot. Let's just fax order to Google doc. So yeah. Yeah Tyler you want to talk about relates? Yeah, so you can get a ground on the 11th death crown. On the 11th even on the on the road truck simulator. On the in this realistic simulation you have more than sixty five hundred kilometers of Motorway and Country Roads at your disposal. So that is something Endurance space action on the 12th and finally the probably the biggest release of the week on Xbox sequels who were pretty good game from a couple of years ago a little nightmares. Do I thought you again? Skip out on the most that's a call you out right over the ground then just kind of like whoa little nightmares to coming out on the 11th of February. But like I said a follow-up to a pretty solid game a couple of years ago and and you know him Xbox does these kind of games pretty well, I know this isn't an Xbox like, you know, release both the games like this stand out pretty well in the console. This was no exception or no or not yet right now. It's got a pretty good base and he's a little nightmares one of those really took off and like you said, it's not like an exclusive or anything like that, but it took off in a similar way like limbo an inside did and contacting those darker scenes was providing really smoking. I'm intrigued see where I take little nightmares too..

"The line and they would guess wrong sometimes and that and fact in one of the fumble the job. Of the fumble for the touchdown guy came clean off the corner. I don't know if the back was supposed to slide that way. Maybe he didn't get the check. But that's what it is. I saw I know the play exactly what you're talking about and they didn't the protection is going wrong way. They call it out and then they backed out and brought the other guy and and he came free and and I know the back didn't come over and pick them up like you were supposed to but and that was when we started dealing with all that stuff Marshall was really the first kind of league if we could give him a complete field scan for protections. So we didn't have to change everything. So we get we put it on Marshall, you know, we let him go 122 on this from one side all the way back to the other side and people were doing that much but he's saved us a lot of times in those protections and just got to get creative with your protections when you see that stuff. Yeah, it's Solomon. Do you from a PFF standpoint in your numbers and your your stats off? What do you guys seeing? It's jumping out right now. Coverage is way down our grades even just across the board terms of secondaries, like for instance coming into week eight thousand the highest graded secondary were the Tampa Bay Buccaneers now Tampa is look at the the Monday night game right Tom Brady in the Buccaneers. They came up against Daniel Jones. She just think that this defense is getting ready to annihilate Daniel Jones. Yeah and the New York Giants, but give Jason Garrett a lot of credit. He skimmed them up. Well, Daniel Jones made a lot of nice throws he panicked. He should never try to throw the ball with a deep into live at his hang it on. Yeah, and so they end up getting two interceptions off of Daniel Joseph which were really freebies, but for the most part Dave Jones missed on a couple of deep throat every about three three of them there were three of them coach where he clearly had an open man dead. This secondary who is the highest graded coverage unit coming into the week 8:00 gave up a lot of places. This is the best that right now the league is seeing but even they took a vote horrible and giving up big place. So we're finding that coverage and twenty-twenty when it comes to pass coverage. It's been very inconsistent and they have been vulnerable to giving up a lot of big plays. That's why you're seeing a rookie quarterbacks. Whether it's Justin Herbert, whether it's Joe Burrell, they're still creating tremendous amount of production by taking shots down the field against NFL secondaries right now. The coverage units are performing poorly the passing game right now. I think we're on schedule to have maybe five to seven quarterbacks with forty or more touchdown passes in 2020. So that's what's trending right now coverage you and it's not not performing nearly as they have over the last few years who and just looking at it and I don't know what the numbers are maybe you know, but it just seems to me like a game. Is so much more man-to-man coverage this year than I've ever seen your right. And here is why coaches you well know when you don't have a lot of learning when you don't have time to work on these zones and the communication that goes Ron knows this he played back there. The easiest thing to say is you take that guy take this guy that cover off you get that cat. You got the reservation. And what happens is you get it to me. I think it easy. It's more definable if I'm Joe Burrell and I'm looking a single Hai Pressman..

"I to your collision by cdw-g people who get find out more at cdw-g, DMZ. All right Conner or back with us Browns Bengals Baker Mayfield needed this one and he gets it without Odell Beckham jr. And looked the Bengals are are I mean there there's boy are they bad defensively and you should put up points against them. We saw Philip Rivers do it last week where the cold spotted them 21 points and then Philip Rivers just you know, just say you do what you want against this Bengals defense that's kind of the the unit that they are but Baker Mayfield, it's been such a struggle this season, especially the last, you know, five quarters leading Us near come back and and he gets it done here and that's encouraging. Despite my tone. Yeah, that's encouraging the best offensive game for a Browns quarterback since Derek Anderson, June 2008, I think and so, you know, yeah, I think that this is good. I mean and and I think it's good for Baker Mayfield. I think he's one of those players that while he might never admit it deadly thrives on on that confidence and and getting into that Rhythm and you know, I mean shoot Joe Burrell played as well as he possibly could have in that game and Baker Mayfield still, you know, poppy fields still out played him, but you know what really blew my mind there is this was a guy who was sort of middling in terms of the things that he does. Well all season and that was what was confusing to a lot of people like the reason I asked him is because he's insanely accurate and he makes quick decisions and and all that kind of stuff and and this week you saw it right 2.5 seconds from snap to throw so like Super Bowl Mechanical in that way and then a plus 16.6 in the points over expected completion percentage, which is wild. I mean, you know and maybe some of those games where I am, you know, it's there's highs and lows and mrs. But this is one of those where I think all that good fortune or whatever is comes back and and and and gets him on this one. So yeah just a Renaissance game for him. And and one of those deals where through the Browns moving forward, I mean, obviously you're still licking your wounds from two significant losses from two teams that you have to play again. But if you can kind of nibble around the edges here and beat the rest of these teams, then who cares, you know, you're still going to make the playoffs which is which is great. Yeah. That's the thing pile up wins. They're all kind of felt teams. I know we make fun of some of them more than others, but they're all night fell teams and look this one that really could have gone off the rails here for the Browns. I mean, you know, I think Baker was was he started over five or over six in this one and and then Odell was hurt and you just wonder if it was going to be dead. A meltdown in Cincinnati and they they bounced back nicely. And obviously he really has it has a strong performance after that and it's the kind of thing..

"Like if somebody gets hurt you want Kyle Allen has your back order cuz he can come in and play pretty solid. He's not your Forever quarterback. I would hope not but man cuz I I like to do some good job. Duffy's underrated a lot. Kyle Allen is the starting quarterback in Washington. The number two quarterback is not playing Haskins. It's Alex Smith, the thirty-six-year-old quarterback. The guy who had his leg destroyed in the former franchise quarterback in Washington who has now, you know, he he's working his way back. So crazy of a comeback. Would that be if Alex Smith became the guy in Washington Dwayne Haskins is now number three. I wish so badly. Give me give me one girl actress. I just want to watch one Washington football team practice to see what's going on. What's happening there? It's kind of Island lighting it up is Alex Smith lighting up as when Haskins terrible. I have no idea, but I know my field the first four weeks for Dwayne Haskins was not very good. I'm not surprised. He got benched. I'm surprised he didn't play better and that's unfortunate reality. Everyone's saying I thought sharing statistics and comparisons and saying they don't have this and then of that watch the film Dwayne Haskins has had a lot of opportunities and made a lot of really bad throws the first four weeks. He played himself out of a job. It's unfortunate. I don't root against anybody. I like watching people do well, but when Haskins has not done well so far this year and that is why he got benched. Okay, I need some pineapple juice real quick first. Joe burrow got his first win as he Cincinnati Bengals quarterback is really really fun to watch the Bengals beat the Jaguars 33 2:25 on Sunday. I love Joe burrow. I could not feel better about him. He's attention to detail is phenomenal. He's already got incredible chemistry with tee Higgins the former receiver at Clemson game played against each other in the National Championship. Tee Higgins is awesome. I think Joe Barone the chemistry with Joe burrow, and he against is really fun to watch AJ Green is kind of what I miss AJ Green. I'll talk about June 2nd Jill Barrel is it's kind of a Freudian slip into my head, Joe burrow looks really really good. His timing's phenomenal his attention to detail. I could not be more impressed with a nice start to a season. I actually thought that my prediction was Joe Pearl is going to be very good eventually, but I thought for sure that Joe burrow was going to struggle early on and like there's a couple little tiny things but for the most part Joe burrow looks phenomenal. He's already like his interception on Sunday by we had an interception against the Jaguars not his fault. Threw a ball to his tight end miles Jack just stole the ball from the tight end that's not on Joe. Joe burrow looks really really good ball location timing everything. He's not struggling at all, but I think he hates losing but Joe Burrell. Great.

"New Jersey and just sees the light and just wants to get at is fighting the fight on the New York City Council. I got I got a good deal is that we're going to call Louis Kalamata Gidget in New Jersey. Joe Burrell never happened never happened. You got a You got a place called vigor Land in Jersey with all the tractor trailers now it with machinery. I just discovered that my wife is now we have to go by the end of the week. Otherwise I get banished from my own home if I don't take my kids to the digger land Did you know Where is where is that? I should know where that is. Joe? Do you remember the town that it's in Digger Land is e? I believe it's all 80 believe it's office or 78. A lot of construction equipment. A lot of Italians and you could rent a backhoe if you want. I love it. I love it. Hey, Jo Jo's new book, by the Way, is revolutionary Staten Island from Colonial calamities, too Reluctant rebels. Joe. Congratulations on the book, and I sent quoted was my quote. Okay, that what I said, was you did you just say the audience? You know their own edification. So your quote you actually wanted to be something different. You're quote was about how great the book isn't how wonderful I am. You just wanted to buy this book. So, Borelli, he's the best Italian I know is Italian. You gotta read the books. I don't know. You know, I don't know if we could say that. I did. I can't. I wanted a What of it? Did you know that he's Italian? You know what if one day, Joe Borelli, the Italians will join together one day One day we're working on it, and we're getting close. If the Italians never joined together the force we are unstoppable, Unstoppable problems were always fighting with each other. You know, we get offended, Withdrew it anything. Anything? You know, there's a lot of, you know, downtime after a lot of food, So we'll tell us about the book, Man. This is very exciting. It's the history of that night. My favorite topic action. It's the history of Staten Island. It's going to be two books on it covers all of the period before Staten Island was part of New York City, which I call the good old days and hopefully we can go back to that to that state of being One day, But this book is about the American Revolution. Staten Island was the longest occupied county by the British during the American Revolution. It was occupied from from 17 76 all the way through November 70 83. And it is the site of a lot of fighting on it really was the front lines of the American Revolution. In fact, they're the show turn, which is a very popular show right now, which focuses on the American Revolution. The characters from this show turned or actually people who served on Staten Island and a lot of spierings. We're we're operating here, So it's kind of a fun book. And you know it had some fun facts about Staten Island has the first gin mill and then in the Americas, etcetera, etcetera. But at the end of the day, if you like Staten Island, if you like the history of the American Revolution, this is a great book for you and you could buy it on Amazon. So it's easy for you to do A Yeah, it's Joe's Broca's revolutionary stand. I'll check it out. If you're Italian, you gotta buy the book. It was like that. I think, Actually, they passed legislation in New York state that if you're out, you have to have the vibe really book. Hey, Jill. You know it's funny, too, and not to get really esoteric before we move on to the issues of the day. You have little minutia in here. Like like the City Seal. You ever see a city? See, I like near of city zeal, and Stanton, who comes up with who designs us and the great thing about 15 that pretty steel. And for 105 years this thing has been. In fact, the city seal is usually on the top of the letter writers on the letterhead, right? Usually important, the important bits or even the controversial bits are below that in the body. When you know made the bloody or does something But the mayor yesterday in the midst of you know, rising crime, violent crime in the midst of the pandemic of $8 billion budget deficit, he says. You know what? We got to take a look at changing the city seal. This will stop the problem. It's amazing. So this was only outdone yesterday by the City Council, who chose yesterday as the important day to change the name of the Department of Consumer Affairs to the Department of Consumer and Worker protections. City. People don't think city government is hard at work, you know, trying to solve the problems that are that you just see on the nightly news every single evening, right? They are hard at work. These things the city feel that they're upset. Because there's an Indian in a loincloth in Dutch traders to people on the seal and the Dutch crater who has a rope. Oh, my goodness, Jo. If it's not even a noose, it's a plummet line. It's it's you know, if you want. If you want to go the AM 9 70 website, You could hear my monologue on this from the Kevin McCullough show yesterday, where I spent about 15 minutes talking about the seal and only feel because that's how ridiculous and preposterous And stupid and how much time was wasted by the city of New York on this issue. Amazing. Yeah. Any hope of New York cleaning it up? I mean, I know they got rid of City Hall. The protesters in City hall. I mean, it seems to be. Is it coming back to normal? Yeah. Five o'clock I went out there. 5 36 time was I actually went out there and I gave waters to about 50 police officers who were just surrounding now. Of City Hall and municipal building and all the buildings around there. We were in the midst of a crime spree and we have to have about 50 cops rotating shifts 24 hours a day, protecting our courthouses and our municipal buildings. Because of the protestors, protestors are angry about everything. Yesterday there was a video of a trans woman who was wanted for arrest yet a warrant for her arrest. Oh, and the warrant squad came as they do every single day. By the way, every single day, there's an unmarked police van in plainclothes try to find the person they're They're supposed to arrest and they arrest the person Now. This video was too much to handle by by the left, and before the sun went down. There was already a protest in in Times Square last night, protesting this particular arrest. And it's just that this is the new cycle. Joe. This is the new cycle on what we should just expect. And, you know, I know a lot of people are like me, and they're ready to pack it in some point. Yeah, and wins bread. Bosnia's term up because that Cuomo apparently is not Governor. Cuomo's not going I think, Remove de Blasio. When is De Blasio added in January 1st 2022 the election will be next to the big players still 17 months. The big players are Eric Adams on Scott Stringer. Maybe Corey Johnson. And but I look, I gotta be honest. I don't see much of a light at the end of the tunnel, at least by the way, Eric Adams to his credit, by the way. Comes on AM 9 70 a couple of shows actually engages, you know, give him a lot of credit there because Joe Lee does that if he becomes the mayor, because then we could at least ask him why these crazy policies are benefiting New York Something build..

Because this is clearly like sweeping the tri-state, it is Joe Borough Jersey. Mania, that has unfolding the search for the number nine Joe Borough Jersey and who better. Than the epicenter of it all the iconic cook sporting goods on fourth fourth street downtown. Let's welcome in. Eric Cook. Eric Lance McAlister. How are you? I'm doing great. How're you doing tonight? I am very well and I'm glad you could spend a few minutes. Take take me back Joe. Borough was drafted April twenty third. How would you describe the demand for the Joe Borough Jersey since that night? Well to be honest with you. It started about a week before that we were taking pre orders for these and really didn't know what we were getting ourselves into. We ordered a couple of hundred thinking well. We older, too many of these. Are People really going to be buying into this? You know, and then you know we we. We were closed down for. For a couple of weeks we opened up last Tuesday morning and it was like Christmas morning. We had twenty boxes or burrow jerseys waiting for us, and by Wednesday, they were just about all gone bad. Oh, man, I think everybody's frame of reference is back to Curson Palmer D. do you have a rely recollection of anything like this when Carson was drafted? Not even close you know Carson with heisman. Trophy winner first round pick but he wasn't Jodhpur. Phenomenon either I don't really understand it fully, but the build up around Joe Burrell compared to Carson Palmer. It's night and day for real media is much much bigger so as you mentioned you are now. You're open right now. Is that correct? We are yes. We opened our doors. Turn the life back on last Tuesday morning we have all the faith measures in place by the glass masks are required by anybody coming in, so we've been having walking customers as of last week. Yeah, do you? Do you have the borough jerseys in stock or do you have to order them at this point? We're still okay if you have if you're three XL. Your toddler or a youth size? We have those in stock still every other size. He ran out of like I, said before, probably in a day or so we went through a couple of hundred, so we actually have more on order. They are telling us at Nike that we should expect him hopefully by the middle of June or give me an idea of what say for an adult size something that I would wear. What is the cost of Joe? Joe Borough Jersey there eighty, nine, ninety nine. There's three different Nike Jerseys if they make. This is the cheaper of the three and really nice. He's had a manufacturing issue. Because of covid nineteen, it had to shut down a lot of their capabilities where they make these jerseys so really there only able to do the cheaper one four now. They told us during the season. They should have more hopefully. Knock on wood. capabilities to make all the others. I just checked my twitter feed, and I have a question from listener. Only one of my listeners can have this question I will toss it to you. You see Chris wants to know. He has a Curson Palmer Jersey. Can he bring it in? Have you strip the Palmer off in so borough in yesterday? I had a feeling that might come up. Yes we have done that before. We can certainly do advertising. Get in touch with us. you know the great things about the Bengals they love recycling numbers? You know from Rudy Daunton et Cetera then Jeremy Hill That might be more of a cost effective way of doing the The burgers even buying a new one. Absolutely talking about Joe Borough Jersey Mania, that is unfolding were at the epicenter of all of it with Eric Cook from Cook. Sporting goods on Fourth Street downtown. Let me let me switch over to the reds. For a second. They had built up so much momentum in the offseason with so many signings did that translate into reds? Fans wanting reds jerseys this off season. You know I have a feeling it would. That's one of the negative things, and of course we have to keep everything perspective with everything going on in the world, but we were really looking forward to a bigger red season than we've had in a Lotta years, and because we were shut down for a couple of months, we haven't seen it. you know which is a shame, but again I think whenever they start to play ball again. I think there will be that excitement again. So I think everybody in the city is open for that question related to the Regin Shogo Akiyama. If someone wants to show Jersey, does the back have shogo or does it have Akiyama? Well hockey on. Current, store, not. You can go the other way, too. That's beautiful I. Love the flexibility. I've also always struck by this and I saw this when I went to your website again today. You guys have been around this true. You guys have been around since eighteen eighty eight. That is correct, actually myself. My Cousin Ryan Cutting Kathy where the fifth generation we're all working there now, so we've been around for a while, not always selling sporting goods, but but you know I think we started with theater curtains and things like that and how a bit over the years yeah. What for those listening, who who want more about the Borough Jersey WanNa look online. What's your website? WWW DOT cook sports dot com Cookie Spelled Funky K. O. C. H. S. P. O. R.. T. S. "All right. We're rolling seventy eight already. Seven hundred wwl W sportstalk till nine gamble. Infants abrupt the reality check at that point later on in this hour. Pat Brennan from the inquire talks a little FC Cincinnati. Coming up in the eight o'clock hour it's Tonight is the ten year anniversary of the cyclones winning the Kelly Cup. That was their second in three years. We'll talk with the voice of the cyclones at the time John Hamill. We'll talk with the coach of the cyclones. At the time Chuck Weber. They'll check in at eight. Oh five eight twenty and then Doug Flynn the glue at eight thirty five tonight. I happened to notice. Today is the anniversary of his first Major League home run. Imagine being twenty four years old playing for the big red machine in nineteen seventy five. You get to replace Joe Morgan. In the seventh in your parents are in the stands. And you get your first Major League home run. I dropped. Doug Flynn note on facebook today and he said sure. I'll come on so he's coming on at eight thirty six tonight to talk about that moment so we are loaded up between now and nine o'clock alright excited to get with our next guest because I watched Fox nineteen in a story that the German routed and I said all right. I've got to talk with him. Because this is clearly like sweeping the tri-state it is Joe Borough Jersey Mania that has unfolding the search for the number nine Joe Borough Jersey and who better than the epicenter of it. All the iconic cook sporting goods on Fourth Fourth Street downtown. Let's welcome in Eric. Cook Eric Lance McAlister. How are you? I'm doing great? How're you doing tonight? I am very well and I'm glad you could spend a few minutes. Take take me. Back Joe. Borough was drafted April twenty third. How would you describe the demand for the Joe Borough Jersey since that night? Well to be honest with you. It started about a week before that we were taking pre orders for these and really didn't know what we were getting ourselves into. We ordered a couple of hundred thinking. Well we older too. Many of these are people really going to be buying into this. You know and then you know we we we. We were closed down for a couple of weeks. We opened up last Tuesday morning and it was like Christmas morning. We had twenty boxes or burrow jerseys waiting for us and by Wednesday they were just about all gone bad. Oh Man I think everybody's frame of reference is back to Curson Palmer. D Do you have a rely recollection of anything like this when Carson was drafted. It's not even close. You Know Carson with Heisman Trophy winner first round pick but he wasn't Jodhpur phenomenon. Either I don't really understand it fully but the build up around Joe Burrell compared to Carson Palmer. It's night and day thrill. Media is much much bigger so as you mentioned you are. Now you're open right now. Is that correct? We are yes. We opened our doors. Turn the life back on last Tuesday morning. We have all the faith measures in place by the glass masks are required by anybody coming in so we've been Having walking customers as of last week yeah do you. Do you have the borough jerseys in stock or do you have to order them? At this point. We're still okay if you have if you're three. Xl Or if you're a toddler or a youth size we have those in stock still Every other size he ran out of like I said before. Probably in a day or so We went through a couple of hundred so we actually have more on order. They are telling us at Nike that we should expect him. Hopefully by the middle of June. Or give me an idea of what say for an adult size. Something that I would wear. What is the cost of Joe? Borough JERSEY. There eighty nine ninety nine. There's three different Nike Jerseys. If they make this is the cheaper of the three And Really Nice. He's had a manufacturing issue because of covid nineteen. It had to shut down a lot of their capabilities. Where they make these jerseys so really there only able to do the cheaper one four now. They told us during the season. They should have more. Hopefully knock on wood Capabilities to make all the others. I just checked my twitter feed and I have a question from listener. Only one of my listeners can have this question I will toss it to you. You See. Chris wants to know he has a Curson Palmer Jersey. Can he bring it in? Have you strip the Palmer off in so borough in? Yesterday I had a feeling that might come up. Yes we have done that before. We can certainly do advertising. Get in touch with us You know the of the great things about the bengals. They love recycling numbers you know from Rudy Daunton. The center dent then Jeremy Hill. That might be more of a cost. Effective way of doing the The burgers even buying a new one. Absolutely talking about Joe Borough Jersey Mania. That is unfolding. Were at the epicenter of all of it with Eric. Cook from Cook Sporting goods on Fourth Street downtown. Let me let me switch over to the reds for a second they had built up so much momentum in the offseason with so many signings did that translate into reds fans wanting reds jerseys. This off season you know I have a feeling it would. That's one of the negative things. And of course we have to keep everything perspective with everything going on in the world but we were really looking forward to a bigger red season than we've had in a Lotta years and because we were shut down for a couple of months we haven't seen it You know which is a shame but again I think whenever they start to play ball again. I think there will be that excitement again so I think everybody in the city is open for that question related to the Regin Shogo Akiyama if someone wants to show Jersey does the back have shogo or does it have well. I hope it has ocoee on our current store. Not You can go the other way too. That's beautiful. I love the flexibility. I've also always struck by this and I saw this when I went to your website again today. You guys have been around this true. You guys have been around since eighteen eighty eight. That is correct. Actually myself my cousin Ryan Cutting Kathy. Where the fifth generation? We're all working there now. So we've been around for a while not always telling sporting goods but but you know I think we started with theater. Curtains and things like that and have evolved a bit over the years. Yeah what for those listening. Who who want more about the Borough Jersey WanNa look online? What's your website? Www DOT cook sports dot com Cookie Spelled Funky K. O. C. H. S. P. O. R. T. S. They can't keep up in. Everybody wants a job earlier. A talking with Casey earlier today about jerseys he has purchased we've purchased or him birthdays Christmas. "Now here's your host Dave. Graham Good Morning reminded Monday February the tenth. Two Thousand and twenty and we got a good show lined up for for you this morning. calling my and he's going to be my first guest I think he's running a tad late. Roads are out there. Maybe you're not sure exactly but The just got a call from Colin a few minutes ago and he said he will be here We may have to wait just a couple of minutes for him while while he is Get ready to make his way up the the stairs here in our WD studio in Waterbury. We go on to tell you about some of the other things happening on the Dave Graham show this morning in the second half hour. I'm going to be having a conversation with Ronald Lumber. He's vice chair of the University of Vermont. Board of trustees and UBS has actually been in the throes of trying to figure out about how to encourage more diversity on its board of trustees will last. We checked in with Mr Lumber. We were talking about the fact that believes the twenty five member board with six women in for instance Not Not not a complete picture of gender balance there and some Vermont. Legislators have been little exercised about this And of course then people the point the finger back at the legislature and saying you know the legislature actually appoints nine members of the of the UVM Board Trustees elects them and How is the legislature done on on gender breakdown of the participants there so anyway we're Some more recent developments on that. UVM diversity what's the issue and we'RE GOING TO BE CHECKING WITH MR lumber about them in the second half hour of the program today later on. I've got something lineup that I think is going to be really special. There's a terrific jazz pianist born in Cuba. Who Uh is really making his name on the international music scene in recent years Elio via Franca is his name and Well worth checking out online at You could just google that name E. L. I. O. Via Franca V. I L. Lay F. R. A.. NCAA and if you're a jazz buffet all and especially like Sort of Latin Salsa infused music I heard from him Last night in which he was playing with a horrific big band in doing the the horns going crazy and of course. He's terrific keyboard player. Just lots of fun to so listen to he got into An interesting little gig where he was essentially checking out some steinway. Pianos and picking one out for are a relatively new performance venue in Vermont the Double E. in Essex Junction I I heard of the double E.. Actually a couple of months ago when when and Paul as Bala Terrific Burlington Tatars and a bunch of folks were getting together to Play a big Joe Burrell tribute and Of course big Joe was a famous blues musician around Burlington back in the toward the end of the last millennium and Big Joe Burrell's Burrell's Tribute there was at the Double Essex. I said who But now we're here again about this this performance venue in in this case as they're acquiring or I guess this week a new A new steinway grand piano for use by visiting artists and The the The the the Guy Elio via Franca at checkout pianos at the steinway factory. which is still in a story at Queens? After all these two years and He went around from piano piano. Played a whole bunch of them and and decided. Here's the one ship. This went up to Vermont lease. So we're GONNA hearing that that story in the second hour of the day Graham show here. WD Ev. Today I think's really a fascinating conversation with both. Kevin States are of the double E. N. with Elliot Elliot via Franca Via Phone From I've leaves down in New York where he teaches at a couple of different music schools. Down there it said are so. Yeah it's GonNa be fun but let's start in this morning Columbine has while I've been here calling mine has rolled into the studio and joins us now and Colin I wanted to give you a minute there to catch your breath but it sounds like you've done that and good morning morning so PT Digger Dot Org continues to generate. Just lots of great news coverage in Vermont and this week in New Hampshire. You're now why would it be. T- Digby over New Hampshire The I think you're following a certain junior senator for Vermont. What's going on with Bernie? Yes Aso big week coming up here obviously after the debacle in Iowa and you know coming out sort of Neck and neck with Mayor P We're sending a few reporters and photographers over Today and tomorrow to cover the New Hampshire primary and Bernie's heading in with a slight slightly in the polls. Obviously each something a bit different but it seems like if you take him altogether that he's ahead by at least a few points Over Mayor Pete Elizabeth with Warren Joe Biden Amy Closure. The senator from Minnesota is surging a bit as well so We'll have the full crew over there doing a full. Oh coverage and things are getting a bit nasty there on the Democratic campaign trail. We saw Joe Biden the former vice president going after may pete sort of belittling his Experiences variances the mayor and then you also see mayor peak on after Bernie Sanders saying that. He has a divisive brand of politics than that right now. American needs a uniter. And that sort of thing. So you you know it's been mostly sort of Discussions about policies and ideas and that sort of thing and the occasional job during debates. And that kind of thing but it seems like as we're getting here in the rubber as meaning the road and the Democratic primary things are getting a bit feisty aloof ice year yeah. That's not not at all surprising. That's pretty pretty much pretty much. Typical also Bernie Sanders is thought to have at least according to the polls of it'll lead going into this thing If he doesn't if he doesn't end up as the winner is GonNa it'd be Damaging to his campaign. I imagine it would be. Yeah I mean you know New Hampshire seems like probably his strong state period You know and then you get into places like South Carolina and California where. It's a bit less predictable where you know particularly in the south that Joe Biden continues to pull really well so you think that You Know Bernie Sanders sort of keep up this momentum that he's had for the last month or so a win in New Hampshire would be Pretty essential you know. Mayor Pete's Did really well in Iowa. But that's kind of his own backyard. an hour and Burns backyard. And you'd think to sort of You know he did incredibly well versus Hillary Clinton in two thousand sixteen in New Hampshire. That sort of you know turned him into a legitimate candidate. I would say And now this time around you know if you were to lose to Pete Buddha judge or Joe Biden or you know if either Elizabeth Warren Amy Club shower where to sort of see significant gains in San Jose losses. That can change the whole shape shape of there. s interesting stuff that I I guess. The The there is something to be said for coming from a neighboring state in New Hampshire. Although didn't really work for Amy Klobuchar in Iowa there she's from Minnesota which is right on Iowa's northern border and and that that proximity Apparently didn't help her much in Iowa. She was What the fifth place finisher I guess in Iowa behind behind Bujan Sanders and and Warren in Biden Haydn so But in New Hampshire it seems as though being from a neighboring state really does help and almost to the point. Where you if you look back at the New Hampshire primaries over recent decades You kind of have to ask if If realistic picture gets painted of what's going on in the Democratic primary contests overall when there's a new England candidate in the New Hampshire primary. We've talked about this before that there before. Yeah it's it really is Pretty remarkable the degree to which now here we have to. We have I guess is develop Patrick Near. Maybe we have three New England candidates candidates in Hampshire primary. So I don't know nobody else has a chance but it is kind of interesting that that that the Bernie Sanders of course Being being right across the river in Vermont believe son still lives in Claremont New Hampshire from what I recall. So that's cracking unsuccessful. Run for a house seat last year and and So so maybe there's maybe he's even further connection we than we know but Bernie Sanders obviously He I think he does house. Need to out and out win New Hampshire after this sort of semi mess of a semi win in Iowa It is kind of ironic w whether it looks like he did get the The largest share of the popular vote but We living in an age where it's increasingly unlikely likely that just winning the popular vote actually win election in America so I mean there's a million factors obviously nypd making decisions they make. I think it's pretty interesting. Right now. Bernie is seen in has sort of the you know the progressive Candidate of choice sort of moves above. Or you know. He's already above Elizabeth Warren but sort of becomes obvious choice over Elizabeth Elizabeth Warren on the Progressive Wing of the party. And then you have. All these moderates Joe Biden people to Judge Amy Klobuchar You know Mike. Bloomberg is spending big if they sort sort of start to eat at each other's support any sort of Progressive Lane for Bernie to sort of move through the primaries as you know the sort of moderate side becomes quite crowded. Do you think the Well actually I see. We have a listener on the line. Let's go to Rama and we've talked a warning Rama but hey you know a in-between times when VAT digger waste my money. Uncovering this personality politics thing. Is I think a really interesting fact. Check back would be this this conversation that seems to always go on. That Bernie is some wild eyed. Radical fanatical attacl leftists of some sort or another and I'd like to see that actually fact checked against poles of the major issues that sanders takes a public stance. John and where they line up with public opinion. I I do have to point out here. Rama they'd in the first fifteen minutes of our conversation with Columbine I don't think we use the word radical. I don't think we've used the word fanatical. I don't think we've used the word wildlife. So where are you getting this. I'm not sure I didn't say you guys. I said this conversation that has been going on. And it's out there in the press all the time it shows up. VAT digger not VAT diggers saying it. But in various areas ways of reporting everybody makes this claim Bernie's to left wing or radical to be elected president CETERA. So it's the conversation I say. The whole general conversation and it builds up a set of assumptions that people work from because life is complicated. We all work from shortcuts but in in order to change the shortcuts more realistically Reflect what's out there is. Sometimes we have to go back and reexamine our our sumptious. Then I think that would be a really great thing for the fact check section of digger one of the challenges. The fact is you know sort of taking things that are you know. don't really have opinion embedded in them because it becomes pretty hard you know what what constitutes wild eyed liberal for example. You know that's pretty tough. One to sort of pin down one thing we are looking at right. Now it's something Jane Sanders talked about which is sort of Bernie's past success and more read parts of Vermont As a way of sort of indicating mint his support it does not exclusively come from You know the sort of far left side of the political spectrum but indeed that his policies appeal to a wide swath of the population and And and that's sort of claim that we're looking into at the moment so perhaps will.

"A choice on whether they wanna have a one party government run by progressive leftist like Bill, the Blasios Williams or do they deserve to have a real choice, a real person standing up for them and with with respect to public advocate. Do New Yorkers really wanna public advocate that is speaking for far left activists or do they want? Somebody fight for tax payers will be. Love this guy this Coleridge yesterday. He loves this guy there years with that asshole. Louis C of New York one he's a Republican city councilman. I'm surprised Lewis actually, put them on. Well, I'm sure we didn't want to anyway district fifty one on Staten Island, and he's on choice for public advocate. Don't forget your money Williams, just one that's because the tissue teams went on to become the attorney general so they had to put somebody in her place. So the election that Jimani just one there was lived so imperative that we had a public advocate for like nine months. Right. Really needed. It. They bring into money's not all that critical of the mayor and the job of the public advocate is to break the mayor's polls, especially when you got the blah's y'all who is leading the city completely fall apart. So Eric didn't it didn't make it. But Joe Borelli is the only choice and we own endorsing him in a big way which. Which it all years together has been the kiss of this. So but with fighting the good fight, it is New York City and by the way, Eric goal. Rich respectable numbers for a Republican White numbers. Really respect did a great job kid second place, actually, when you count all the votes combined from Michael Blake and Viverito. He beat 'em bullets. I know here he is our new friend Joe Borelli. Good morning. Joe? Good morning. Definitely appreciate. Having you and you heard just talking about one of the few Republicans that actually office, Hugh in New York, we need more Joe Borelli's, whether it's public advocate city councilman Senate. We need more guys like you. And especially in this job where the job is to keep the mayo in check Joe you're perfect for this job. I hope so look into first week on the job. Right. The first week after this guy wins a pretty good victory over Eric rich. There's the thrive New York scandal of billion dollars renewal school scandal. A billion dollars the mayor's jobs program three hundred million dollars. I get that liberals wanna spend more money, but when money is so clearly squandered wasted in in fraud abuse and just and just bad policy. And you have a public advocate. I down the jobs not even saying anything about it. Not even making the case that this is the wrong thing. What the heck is guy even doing what are you doing? I've asked this question. What does the public advocate even do after they take their morning Cup of coffee and swollen? That's an excellent question. So your is your position is your policy goal to get the job. And then he limited is that what you wanna do or you would actually make it a worthwhile position. The city. Charter right now doesn't make any type of prescriptions on what the public advocate actually must. Do. They must take complaints. They must make recommendations. But it it's all it's all the doesn't actually have any specific form. The offices extremely duplicate with three one I would like to see the office had expanded powers actually be worth something to the tax payer. But if I could do that within the first year, so I work equally hard, and I'll try my danced to try to eliminate the job of New Yorkers pay New Yorkers are to pay forty million dollars this year for two elections to elect physician that has almost no news. Great job. Right. And that was code asleep was dance when he thought about running initially just get rid of it. And if they're going to continue to put people in there like Jimani Williams on Leticia Letitia, James, they should get wind of it. Because again, the job of public advocate is to hold the mayo in check and the voting in Democrats that just won't do that. Despite what they say on the debate floor. I mean, what would you gotta do? Joe, you know, this is you got to provide this office like our says which some teeth for example, how about giving the public advocate some subpoena power that would help to empower step in the right direction. But what then does the public advocate do with all these documents and information that he or she can get your actually given that that second step? If you put the office in end, the Commissioner of deal, why department investigation under the public advocates purview that would instantly. Make the office worth way to the taxpayers. We saw a mayor de Blasios fire delight Commissioner Mark Peters after Mark Peters investigated his administration, keep in mind. The only job of the department investigation is to investigate the mayoral administration. This is something that, you know, Democrats went crazy over when there was even a suggestion that Donald Trump would fire Bob Muller here in New York it played out. Exactly, according to the worst fears and no one cares. The public advocate who cares. It was with James time. Putting the deal I under the public advocates purview would insulate from that type of city councilman Joe Borelli from Staten Island and the burning sich on WABC radio. Look the Mary's crooked. He's lazy and he's got this this racist plan to change the standardized testing for these elite schools, and the problem is, of course, one of the problems that you can't suspend unruly students from the grammar schools in the high schools, and therefore the good kids suffering campus. They can't learn and Cam pass the standardized tests. I mean, that's the democrat minds that we need more people like you Joe Burrell into be in there and to set this all straight guy. I had a principal. Come to me. With a real concern. We would not even let this principle fire high school kids who were buying drugs in the hallway of the high school pace if suspended kid from buying drugs in the school. We have lost all semblance of reality. We've by buying drugs selling drugs both buying buying. Okay. Somebody on drugs one about the dealer that person was actually arrested. And using drugs in in the hallway of the school. This not a vitamin that. Parents want their kids to be everyday. We lose sight of the nineteen good kids in a classroom when we're so focused on the one kid who were not allowed to suspend any way or do anything that might affect that trial domes curious, what is your opinion on the chairman of the New York Republican state committee. Ed, Cox guys inside your party. I hope and pray that more and more publicans like you win some races have an opinion on Ed cots. My county Richmond county was the first county outside of language own support Nick Langworthy for replace to we want Nick either him or killing Lila we like. Freshman assembly together into wonderful guy. I think Nick has actually built out the infrastructure. Look, I wanna win election. I don't care about how much the dollar amount you raise our. I don't care who your grandfather was I don't care, you know, as a Republican. I don't care about much else. Other than winning the state back through winning elective offices. That is the only function, and that is something that although Ed Cox nice man, a good hearted person. He's failed to deliver on period end of story times and the job early. One more question here is we have nothing to do with related to Ed Cox. We have this epidemic of perverts pleasure themselves on the subways, and they get to do it over and over again because it's only a misdemeanor. You're on the city council right now. How can we not change? How can we change the law to make this a felony? Who I mean, who do we go to who do we apply to where we express grievance of for this? This law that makes it only a misdemeanor to to sexually assault of woman. Pleasure yourself on the subway. Go to felony new state law. But the good news is the council of actually penalizing people. Now, we're gonna hear Bill, and I've introduced to make it legal to send you know, penis pics to people on the subway. This is something that that wasn't even heard of a few years ago. But now, it seems to be all the rage where you can simply just airdrop picture junk. But back in my day back in your day. If you wanted a flash someone you had to have the trenchcoat you had to have a good perish shoes. You could run away. Click of yourself. Hearing a Bill introduced Donovan, Richards Richardson, would probably gonna make that part of illegal east, which is now the penis with Louis. I would I friends have had some great Trump anti Trump debates over the years too. So I appreciate what he puts me on a joke off. Anyway, you will grant will rooting for you. We want you to win one is the election. It'll be November that year the general election. There are no other races on the ballot. So it's just me, and you money Williams, hopefully that alters the turnout numbers. And maybe it gives me a chance up hill battle. But hey, we're going to give it to try great today. We wish you the best what will continue to endorse you all through November bringing back a couple of times. And hopefully help you get you the win. Okay. Pal. All right. The great job rally on. Coming right back. Johnny seven W ABC. All right. I don't think it's coming on. Invited the star short thousand percent sure, I would wanna talk. "No surprise, Nick, David Davos, Wendy at both made tough decisions with their quarterbacks. Both those tough decisions panning out. I think they've changed the rules of the game. These days. If you now if you don't have the electric quarterback, you're not in. I don't care what people say about Jay crime. He's good quarterback. He's not two. He's not Trevor arts he's not Tyler Murray. And I think Daboh and Nick and then the everybody else, and I think that's the coaching class. Ten. Let's let's talk a little bit about the biggest game of the weekend. Alabama going to LSU you watch a lot of things and study we've talked to you callous times about the two of his Jalen situation about what's on the other side with with Ed ores run. Give us your perspective on this game from what you do best. And that's study people and in terms of how they make judgments, you know, the amazing thing about to Paul is. And and showed up in Georgia's game, of course in the national championship when he kind of made his debut there. There's some people might look at that. Touchdown throws that he made and say got lucky, and I say, no, he didn't he is. A transcendent talent. And a lot of times people have trouble with that. Because it's something that they haven't seen before. So how do we make pouty would make sense of this? But you look at his body of work now. And I don't care if he has hasn't pass in the fourth quarter or not it is enough. That's him out there that guy has such a strategic view of the field such an ability to make a quick diagnosis of what is there? What isn't there and then an immediate execution of an action based on what he sees? And of course, he's got the talent. That's a that's a prerequisite to all this. And that's what sets him apart. You know, they're just certain people who have innate abilities, and particularly Paul I would say under pressure because that's when judgment decision making cracks. And if you have the foundation. Channel characteristics of an outstanding decision maker under pressure. What pressure will actually do is exceleron at your performance? Not deteriorate it you'll get better than the other guys who are struggling with it. If you're on defense, you're the guy who hopes the play comes that you because of your confidence level and that bundle. That he possesses is just other worldly now, Joe Burrell and all of peers to be a great quarterback. Right. And unless you appears to be a fabulous team. Like typically are Eto deserves every accolade that he's gotten so far and more and can they win? Well, of course, they win can win. Because in sports football. Any other sport any team to win any any night any event? But I just I just don't see it would take in my opinion such a collapse by guy like to that. I don't think he has that level collapsed in it. I really don't. In on the other side at orange Ron has surprised many people this year with the the season that they've had up until this point. How do you view him? Yeah. I was I was very skeptical. When he promoted inswinger, you know, you and I talked about that a little bit. And I felt like maybe he's just gone the comfort route he'll boys club. But in in retrospect and fairness to add what I think he really did was finally decide what leaders do which is..
