The Perfect Metaphor: Bird Poops on Joe Biden
"I saw a headline on TV this morning, inflation, climbing higher than expected. You think? 40 year high? Thanks, thanks, Joe. That bird pooping on the president yesterday was one of the most perfect metaphors of our time. If a bird pooped on president Trump, they would have played that on a loop, a bird poops on Joe Biden. Well, I made a plate at once or twice on maybe Fox News. That they have it over to newsmax. I don't think NBC's touching that one. I don't think they're playing that on ABC world news tonight. Yeah, inflation is climbing faster than expected.

Democrats' Policies Will Be the Reason for a Republican Takeover
"Now, last night, I don't know if you're going to be on special report tomorrow night and going back tomorrow. But last night, I got to point out that key numbers are 28 and 14. 28 Democrats are heading for the exits in the house. 14 points swing in the direction of the Republicans in Gallup. And a 5.7% lead in the generic ballot for Republicans. What is the biggest source? Or what are the many sources of the demise of the house of Pelosi and the fall of Joe Biden? Well, I keep thinking back to what we were told prior to a year ago, that by electing Joe Biden and other Democrats that adults would be in charge that our policies would improve that the health of our country would improve literal physical health, but economic health, our foreign policy stature. And I think what we've all experienced over the last year is regardless of where we were on the issue of Biden versus Trump. We know that we were completely lied to about the quality and competence. Not just Biden, but democratic policy making, in general, they have control of not just the presidency, but the Senate and the House. And so what we're getting is pure unalloyed democratic policy that doesn't have much disagreement on the democratic side of things, Democratic Party side of things. And people are not liking it very much at
Joe Biden Agrees With GOP Governors: 'There Is No Federal Solution' to COVID
"Joe Biden well what is not going to take place in New York City this week is going to take place Starting next week right With the vaccine mandate Hold on Now Joe Biden agrees with GOP governors This was fascinating today Fascinating So quoting President Biden on a call today with governors he had this to say There is no federal solution Well praise be I mean thank you Joe Biden It's taking you a little while Perhaps something that I don't know just about every Republican governor especially mine Ron DeSantis in the free state of Florida has been sane since the onset of this thing There is no federal solution So today Biden says on this call with governors there is no federal solution Continuing with this quote this gets solved at the state level Okay so not only is this what Republican governors have been saying since the onset of the pandemic it not only is that the literal antithesis of what he's been saying and what he's been directing it comes 8 days 8 days in advance of his one size fits all Anti American policy of getting facts are getting

"But can we just take a step back and talk about the historic nature nature of today to impeachments for Donald Trump the second Senate impeachment trial. What do you think the impact the sum total impact of these impeachments are for Donald Trump and his legacy? Largely this impeachment is going to replace the other in the memories of most Americans. I don't think most people were terribly Clear on exactly what went on in the first impeachment it had to do with a phone call in the Ukrainian leader and it had to do with President Trump's concern about facing Joe Biden well placed concern as it turns out. And his attempts to dislodge the order to disrupt the Biden campaign. Early on, It was a little confusing. It went on for days and days. It was technical. There was a lot of legalism and we couldn't hear the phone call. We never got to hear the phone call. Well, this time we saw it, and we saw it again and we saw it again. And we saw it again. This video that has so much impact. This is a little bit like watching the twin towers go down in 9 11. You saw that video again and again for years, and in a sense, we've never stopped seeing it. So that's what they're going for here. They're going for something that transcends all the legalisms that transcends all the sense of who's right and who's wrong and just shows people how horrific January 6 was inside the Capitol and then tying that back to the president and tying it back as Nina was saying, all the way to last summer. His longstanding campaign to de legitimize this election. Well before was even happening well before anybody started mailing in balance, the president was trying to de legitimize any result other than a win for him. Where is the country right now on this impeachment because I think of the first impeachment, it felt pretty sharply on partisan lines. You know? Republican versus Democrat How you voted was how you viewed it. Does that hold true with this impeachment? There is still a great deal of partisan divide with this impeachment because, as you can see from the Senate chamber, many of the people on the president's team the people of his party are reluctant to turn on him. They believe in many cases, I don't know about the senators. I think a secret ballot of these senators might come out really differently from what we will see when they do eventually vote in public. But But in the country, there are many Republicans who tell pollsters they think the election was stolen. Maybe most of them maybe most of Trump's voters really still believe. But this election was stolen just on his say So. So, yes, On that basis alone, You're going to get a sharp partisan divide in their reaction to this impeachment, but fair to say that Donald Trump is still the leader of the Republic, the undisputed leader of the Republican Party. In the absence of anyone else, and there couldn't be anyone else. It can't really be Mitch McConnell, especially since he has decided that the election was legitimate and he doesn't go with the president on this answer. This this this assertion that the president so insists on and because it feels better. I think for most Republicans to feel like they won and somehow it was stolen by the Democrats and the media. They would rather deal with that. Then deal with what actually happened. Let's turn now to camera case if we can, Tam, Thanks so much for being with us, I I made a actually turned out to be not so sure the list of things that I thought I knew but were sharpened for me today. Um, the writers were 58 ft from the Senate chamber. Um House members and senators had to sprint to safety. And they were very blunt calls for vice president Pence and Speaker Pelosi to be killed went there and there was a gallows assembled on on the lawn of the Capitol that was in theory intended for the vice president. Um, So yes, Uh, those are things that we learned. I think one thing that stood out. They played a lot of surveillance video from inside the Capitol. Piecing together where members of Congress were where the insurrectionists were. And there was video of Mitt Romney, leaving the Senate chamber and Officer Goodman, who is now sainted for diverting the insurrectionists away from senators away from the Senate chamber. Officer Goodman. Basically, you don't have sound but telling Romney to run and Romney turning around and running, and to see Senator Mitt Romney running full speed was stunning. Yeah. And and we should note I had failed to appreciate until seeing the video over and over again today. Uh, how opulently armed so many of the rioters were. In addition to using American flag poles as weapons. They also had bear spray and actual real live things that we would recognize as weapons and shields and they were wearing tactical gear and helmets and they came ready to fight. I think that what Democrats the house impeachment managers were trying to do today. Was build a case that all of those very prepared heavily armed people were there to do. President Trump's bidding on do that Their presence could have been anticipated and headed off and then later today in the later part of the arguments, arguing that President Trump could have done something to stop them once it was clear what they were doing. And they claim at his behest on guess. Oh, uh, they went through a serious of tweets from President Trump during the day this video that he released where he said he loved them, and he understood where they were coming from a tweet later, around six o'clock, the last tweet of the day. Where he essentially said, this is what happens. This is what you get when you don't let me win. Not exactly phrased that way. But when all of these people's votes as he sees it, we're disenfranchised by the results of the election not being overturned in town. What do you make of the focus that house manager seemed to put on? On the prominence of vice president Pence. In the events saluting him is a patriot. Thanking him for his courage. On You know they're both holding up pence as someone is a defender of the Constitution and a hero of for for following his duty in a way, I think that is meant as a contrast to President Trump. Um and also they're holding up the Capitol police as people who were attacked for defending the capital and defending the American way. There were a lot of injuries among the police officers. Who were defending the capital. A couple of died a couple of since taking their own lives run one of the things that struck me throughout the day that we received in some of the pool reports from Capitol Hill reporters is some of the most flattering comments about the House impeachment. Arguments came from Republicans, even Republicans that have said they will not vote to convict. The president have praised sort of the quality of the case and the articulate nature of the case. And it begs the question of you know how how steep of a hill does the president's defense team. Have to climb here to make an equally compelling case, especially since quite frankly, they didn't make such a great impression in the first day of this trial. They did not. But, you know, frankly, they don't have to match with the house managers have done. They don't have to be equally impressive. All they have to do is mount a defense that gets some heads nodding on one side of the chamber, and then they sit back and wait to win. I mean, it's a little bit like feeling confident of a jury before you get up to make any arguments in the trial. You know the jury's on your side That is to say enough of them so that there won't be a two thirds vote to convict the president. And and because you know that in a sense, you're really just trying to please to some degree if that's possible the president himself and he was not pleased with the first day. You know, trying to mount something? A defense of a defense so that you can say in the end, we one camera, Keith. Yeah, I was just thinking about how we have heard today from one of the president's attorneys. After some of these arguments had been presented, he talked to reporters in the capital, and he said Yeah, I didn't learn anything new..

"The phone number for all three locations of cruise hearing is the same 877456 to 789. That's 877456 to 789. Please call first until further notice. Speaker of the house with a thin margin. One of the first things they're going to try to do is statehood for Washington, D. C. Do we have tape on that? We'll be able to pull that tape. They're already calling for statehood for Washington, D C. And so one of the first moves needs to be pressuring Joe Mansion and Mark Kelly, who's up in 2022 in Arizona. Uh, toe prevent them from giving statehood. The biggest changes right now that we have to fight back against our structural changes that actually change the way that we govern our country. Tax law Green New deal. All that stuff is super annoying, and we can fight it. A lot of it will fail on both. The left is going to try to go way too big and they're gonna fail with a lot of it. But the structural change stuff is where we really have to be careful. And so someone just emailed us here they say, What can we impeach Joe Biden? Well. If you would have had the United States Senate, you could have done something about that. But now that we control zero bodies of Congress, then no, you can't. And so hunter Biden will likely get away with his crimes. That's that's kind of all the really important thing about Georgia. We lose Georgia all of a sudden you lose your capacity to have oversight investigations and otherwise. On DSA. The other part of this Kind of what we need to do is first and foremost, we need to try and lift up Joe Manchin. I'm of the opinion that this is a theory that I have come up with myself that all the Republicans should caucus together and support Joe Manchin for Senate majority Leader. Joe Manchin, a Senate majority leader. He is a blue dog Democrat. He voted for Gorsuch, and he voted for Amy Kuney Barrett. Is that right? No. Maybe he voted for two of them. Cavanaugh. He voted for capital. That's right. He did vote for Cavanaugh. Despite all the nonsense, Um Joe Manchin is a Democrat. But he does have some center right tendencies out much rather see him become Senate majority leader with 50. Republicans backing him. Therefore, 51 Camilla Harris doesn't become the tie breaking vote. Then 50 coming for Chuck Schumer and then 51 coming to Camelot. Harris. There is no guarantee whatsoever that Joe Manchin is going to caucus with Chuck Schumer. But Republicans could stay and at least a center right majority if they caucus with Joe Biden. But the biggest fight right now is statehood. They get statehood. Things changed forever, and it becomes increasingly difficult for those of us that want to see the country safe to do so. Let's play tape. First we must get statehood on the president's desk. Within the 1st 100 days of the 117th Congress, Congress must immediately transfer command of the District of Columbia National Guard from the president of the United States. And put it squarely under the command and control of the mayor of the District of Columbia, Theo. Congress must create a nonpartisan commission toe understand that catastrophic security failures that happened at the Capitol on January 6 2021 both to hold people accountable. And to ensure that it never happens again. So D C. Statehood is going to be on the table as his Puerto Rico statehood. De CRT gets electoral votes, but that will then give them two United States senators, which will change the balance and the complexion of the United States Senate permanently getting into 102 members. That is Meriel Bowser, who is the mayor of Washington, D. C. Um, some emails air saying, Charlie, What would you want us to do? Some people are admitting that they boycotted the Georgia run offs. Um, yeah, I mean, look. And you actually decided to boycott Donald Trump. So don't call yourself a trump supporter, Donald Trump asked you to go vote in the Georgia run offs. He did two rallies there on DSA. So that helped played a role there. So now statehood, Electoral college abolition green new deal which is not going to pass on Dan also the big one that the Supreme Court justice packing that is all on the table, so we gotta fight it. We have to fight it strategically. The Joe Mansion thing could very well help us out here. We have a lot more to impact here. Email us your questions in the break Freedom at Charlie Kirk dot com We'll be right back. I grew up Pope, which is even worse than being from port to CEO. The incredible journey of Herman Cain. My American dream entail working hard and making twitted $1000 a year. But I surpassed that goal became a corporate CD called the Story of One Man's Amazing Journey from a poor, undereducated family to the highest levels of corporate, social and political America. I didn't have the meat Work ethic so it for his name, and it had a big impression on me for poor to CEO..

"Consideration before we get started on our weekend. The way that Joe Biden's handlers are now framing and handling. The hunter Biden influence peddling Scandal story is fascinating, quite interesting. Now that it is readily apparent. At the national News media has been given permission, maybe even orders. Who at least referenced the story. For example, the national news media covered the revelation that Hunter Biden's taxes were under federal investigation and have been under investigation since 2018. That story was covered by The New York Times covered by CNN was covered by CBS. Is this is the mainstream news media that's usually running interference for for all, Joe Biden. Well, The job Buying people can't just ignore the Hunter Biden story because now the national news media is showing some interest in it. I think they're showing some interest in it because ultimately it's a leverage point if they want Joe Biden to do something like some point resigned. Joe. You know your your health is an in not in good standing right now. You don't look so well. Why don't you say that You need to leave because of medical reasons. Right and Usher and President Kamila and The rest is a disaster. Anyway, so so The the Hunter Biden story is out there and it's being allowed to be discussed in the national news media. President-elect Joe Biden declares "clear victory" and calls for unity
"After a cliffhanger vote count, Mr Biden is projected to have won the states of Pennsylvania and Nevada, taking him over the crucial threshold of 270 electoral college votes. President elect up to the stage a few hours ago to officially declare victory in front of a crowd in his hometown of Wellington, Delaware. The people of this nation have spoken. They've delivered us a clear victory. A convincing victory. Victory. For we, the people Way one with the most votes ever cast from presidential ticket in the nation. Joe Biden has said he wants to restore the soul of the United States and Americans needed to stop treating their political opponents as enemies call for unity was echoed by the vice president elect Kamila Harris. You chose hope. And unity, decency, Science and, yes, truth you chose Joe Biden as the next president. And Joe is a healer, a uniter, a tested and steady hand. One person who knows Joe Biden well as Amy Pope. She worked alongside him for a number of years. In her former role, is US deputy Homeland security adviser to President Obama. She's now an associate fellow at the think tank Chatham house and she joins me now. Amy, What kind of President Will Joe Biden B? How will he differ from the last Democratic party President Barack Obama. Joe Biden is really a kind of Washington expert, Hey, has a long history in the Senate. He knows many, many, many of the key political influencers and legislators in Washington and he's the kind of person who just has gotten to know them and build relationships with them on And for that reason, I think he's coming in at the right time in terms of trying to build relationships across the island and get something done. Do you think that he really is going to be able T turn that to his advantage? It just seems that there's so much animosity in US politics right now. I think it's going to be tough. And I think even for someone like Mitch McConnell, with whom who's the Senate majority leader with whom the president elect has a strong relationship, there will be pressures on him not to find common ground and not to cooperate. But on the flip side, there are a lot of Americans who are looking for Congress and the president to work together. Who are looking for some level of functioning capacity within Washington. They'll feel that pressure to it's hard to see how this will play out, and it'll depend frankly, about what the voters were saying to their members. Amy, I'm going to bring my guests in

"Changed forever from the CBS Audio Network. I'm Gil Gross in 2016. Pollsters got the national contest right. They said Hillary Clinton would win the popular vote, and she did well within the margin of error. But They plainly got the state race is wrong, And that was important because that's how we actually pick a president. Pollster said They had learned some lessons, and this year they would do a lot better. Well. They did a lot worse, so much worse that you start to wonder if polls or even worth it. Margaret Sullivan is the media columnist for the Washington Post. Margaret Good to have you with us. Thank you very much. Gale in 1936, the literary digest than a decades old and very popular magazine of the time did a poll an announced ALF Landon would beat FDR in a landslide. It was exactly the other way around. In two years later, the literary Digest was a defunct laughingstock. So who do you think's going to take the fall for this one? Well, I don't think it'll be quite that severe. Obviously, a lot of eyes are on the places we turn to for sort of the amalgamation of the poles, fivethirtyeight dot com The New York Times with a needle and other places like that. But I don't really think that they are the ones who we should be looking most seriously at. It's actually that the poles themselves, not those who interpreted them who were the most off. And in some cases, you know they weren't terribly off but it But in the aggregate they really gave us the impression that former Vice President Joe Biden was up by a you know, had a commanding lead and that there would be of a landslide or there might be And as you say, that has not come to pass. You know, I did a piece about Florida recently, which I called the hardest place to pull outside of Yemen. You try to slice up there? What's called the Hispanic vote, which politicians and news anchors talk about like that's a thing even though you have older Cubans who hate Democrats, younger Cubans who don't Venezuelans who do Puerto Ricans who don't but on the other hand, are strong Catholics and are against abortion and gay marriage. Not to mention him on Cubans, black Cubans and white Cubans who often don't get along. Add pollsters and news anchors don't seem to get any of this. That's right. We we want to. We seem to want and I say we as the media writ large. We seem to want to paint this demographic group. With a very broad brush. And as you say it, it can't be done. I mean, there are A lot of subjects in the group. We would like to call Latino or Hispanic, and it's really misleading to say that you know people who Immigrated from Latin America, You know, whether recently or a long time ago are the same as the white Cubans in Florida. They have very different mindsets. They have different Political leanings. They like different things and politicians. They have different issues. And so it's a failure to say. Oh, well, we think we know. Oh, gosh, Latinos should like Joe Biden well in Miami Dade, Florida, They didn't so much And you know, we do need to learn something from that. Your paper, The Washington Post and I want to underline to everyone. You're the media columnist. You are not the polling unit said that Wisconsin is going to be Biden by 17 points, which was 17 points off Now, the thing about that that's interesting, you know, Blaming the paper specifically is that the post poll is considered By many other pollsters as the ultimate pole. They talk to people for 30 to 60 minutes, they ask circle of friends, questions that is supposed to ferret out the so called shy Trump voter. It was still literary Digest quality wrong. Is post It is pulling just broken. Well, you know that was off by a long shot, and it does stand out and, you know, I just read a comment this morning from an internal from are basically our public relations people saying, you know we're going to take a very serious look at what happened and And make whatever changes need to be made. But it's a cautionary tale for sure about the difficulty of polling these days because it's not like the old days when you could call people up on their land line. And expect everybody to talk to you. There's a lot of people who don't want to talk, but there's a lot of people who don't have a land line and you don't pick up their cell phones when they see a strange number. And I think polling has adjusted to that, to some extent, but clearly not enough. Yeah, we have gated communities. We have phones with caller ID says. I don't know that number. Let them leave a message and I'll see if it's somebody I really want to talk to. It's easy to avoid pollsters. It really is, and that's one of the issues and, you know, pollsters have found ways to get around that. It's interesting to me that and Seltzer did such a accurate poll in Iowa this year and when it came out Which was favoring President Trump. Everyone sort of poo pooed it and said, Oh, you know, she must have lost her. She must be off her game now because she has a very good reputation. Well, it turned out to be right. So maybe there are some lessons. They're a swell girl. Yeah, And the way pollsters picked people may be a problem to look. I'm a white collar worker. The phone rings. Do you have a half hour to talk? Well, yes, I do. In fact, I was just planning to write an op ed piece myself. I'm a blue collar worker. I'm working two part time jobs with with the Koven. Serge. I'm driving an uber. I don't have the kids were running around. I don't have time to talk to some busybody in the phone for an hour. I think probably there's a very kind of self selecting group here. That just doesn't have time for this. Right. And I think the other thing that we should probably acknowledge if we haven't is that there are a lot of Trump supporters who don't like the media or No officials official people like pollsters and I don't suggest that they that they went out of their way to lie to pollsters. But I do think that they tend to say no, I'm not interested in that. I'll stick with my trusted sources, which may be on social media or maybe a different news organization. But they certainly aren't somebody from Ah polling company, which they may wealthy. It's just another part of it. An institution that they don't like. And don't try. You know, there was an interesting paper. Well, interesting, If if you're you know, a geek like May that was written a quarter of century ago with the title, pluralistic ignorance and perpetuation of social norms by unwitting actors, which wasn't about polling. There was about how people like to be liked by people they talked to. That study was about college kids saying they like to drink even if they don't boys and girls in elementary school is saying things about the opposite sex because they thought that's what the people around them want to hear. And there may be signs that people do that with pollsters. I know people on the phone. They think less of me for giving one answer. Maybe not just about Trump, maybe about Bernie Sanders as well. If Sanders have got the Democratic nomination, I'll tell them what they want to hear will have a pleasant conversation and and the like me. That's right. I mean, it's almost a form of a kind of correlates in a little way with with peer pressure. You know, it's like, Oh, is this what you want to hear? Well, I guess I'll tell you and I also know justice. Anecdotal, but I know people who Told their young millennial daughter..

"Ah! Ah, pretty compelling case for for a judge to throw out that many ballots. So while you're speaking, we also got a reaction from Nancy Pelosi. So she currently is the speaker of the House of Representatives. She certainly will be up for that position again in the new Congress. She issued a statement just moments ago on the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Let me read that to you. Today marks the dawning of a new day of Hope for America. A record shattering 75 million Americans cast their ballots to elect Joe Biden, president of the United States, a historic victory that has handed Democrats a mandate for action. In President elect Joe Biden. Americans elected a leader ready on day one to finally begin to crush the Corona virus pandemic so we can safely reopen our economy and schools in President elect Biden. The American people delivered a mandate for lower health costs a mandate for creating bigger paychecks by rebuilding America's infrastructure and a mandate for cleaner government that works for the public interest and not the special interests and in president elect. Biden, her statement continues. They have elected a unifier who values faith, family and community and who will work tirelessly to heal our nation. President elect Biden and Vice President elect terrorist one with a strong margin, and they will have a strong Democratic house majority by their side working together we have the opportunity to deliver extraordinary progress. For the people. So let me ask you about that statement. Jared, she speaks of President Elect bite and having a mandate is based upon the results that we see right now. Do you see this as a mandate for Joe Biden? Well, I mean, let's see what the final total is. Certainly he's gonna have you know millions more votes in the popular vote. We'll see what the electoral count, I suppose, ends up being but a CE Faras, a governing mandate. It's going to be hard to see that play out with a slimmer democratic majority in the House of Representatives in a Republican controlled Senate, which is thie. Most likely outcome at this point, so As faras the mandate to sort of make sweeping foundational, you know, legislative changes it. A short order upon inauguration would seem Difficult. Just given the makeup of the Congress, the full the full government so Ah, mandate, I suppose, is in the eye of the beholder. Alright? So you know that the numbers are what they are, but from a legislative ability to kind of just get things through and, you know, move forward with the sort of very large, ambitious plans that Biden has will likely depend on what happens, I suppose in the special election be these runoff elections in Georgia. But even if you look at these House races, speaker Pelosi's gonna have a smaller majority. Then she had the last two years. She's also going to have a more progressive majority. Then she's had which may not also always jive. With the type of compromise you have to reach with a Republican led Senate. Give me a sense about what divided government means for Joe Biden as he embarks on the presidency in January of next year. It's not known yet. It seems more likely than not that the Senate would be in control of Republicans being led by the majority leader, Mitch McConnell. Could he possibly work with Joe Biden? On various pieces of Biden's legislative agenda They've known each other for decades. Does that personal relationship help in moving Ah legislative efforts forward? It's certainly a thought that it does. I think it's going to depend obviously on issue by issue and what exactly it is that Biden is putting forward but you're right. The majority leader Mitch McConnell, the president elect show Biden Have known each other a very long time, Both of them very much creatures of the Senate, and you know is you know, John is our White House correspondent. Even during the Obama administration when there were big legislative deals that needed to be negotiated between Democrats and Republicans, it was usually Vice president Joe Biden, who represented the administration because of those relationships that he has. So I do think that there is. Ah, thought that Biden and McConnell are able to work well together. I think there are questions about rank and file members from both parties. Right. The Senate makeup right now is not the Senate that Joe Biden came from The house right now is not the house that existed during even the Biden the Obama Biden administration. So on a personal level. I think you're right. There is a friendship there. The two know each other very well as you recall. One of the last pieces of legislation that was passed during the Obama administration was cancer research funding. A portion of that bill was named for Beau Biden that was done at the request of Mitch McConnell, who wanted to pay tribute. To the outgoing vice president into his son. So there is a relationship there to be sure what that means for governing the way that legislation is handled the way that nominations or handled, I think remained big question marks. Well, we haven't heard from Joe Biden in terms of a statement or way haven't heard from him live yet. But we do know that he's actually changed his Twitter bio to president elect, so he's been paying attention. A certain extent, Teo the projections that have come out from Fox News and other news organizations. Moments ago, Fox Television's White House correspondent John Roberts, on the North Lawn of the White House. Also reported on this news. Let's hear that report. Right now. The Trump campaign has just put out a statement..

"0.72 plus 13 in 2018 Governor Wolf one by even more You want by? I think I was about 17%. So there's a predicated for that for Joe Biden and common Harrison. I think so far. They've been successful. You have to assume, though that even with high margins in urban and suburban communities, That the president will still be able to run on big margins and in rural counties, and you've got to be every day focused on a message that That translates to the whole state. I think between issues like health care infrastructure and in rural areas and small towns for broadband, as well as the basic infrastructure, roads and bridges. That rural areas don't have. Sometimes. I think all of those issues are issues that Joe Biden has a dress. I think he's actually got not only messaging for rural Pennsylvania but actually has a on aggressive aren't reaching his campaign for rural Pennsylvania Rural America. Let me ask you about the working class Democrat vote. Advisers to Bernie Sanders recently told The Washington Post newspaper that he believes that Joe Biden isn't doing enough to emphasize Key issues for that demographic, and given that he makes quite a lot off the fact that he is a Scranton Jo, you know, is working a man credentials and so on. How concerned are you that there isn't as much traction as perhaps there might be with that demographic. Well, I actually think that he's he's in a strong position with those voters. Look, that's been one of the things that I think it's haunted Democrats since 2016. Why worry losing So many of those voters who are you know, working men and women who have seen for years the economy changed substantially. And their their jobs and their livelihoods change so much over many years and frankly frustrated with both parties, and I think Donald Trump was able to connect with them. In 2015 and 16 in a way that probably a lot of us underestimate. I think Joe Biden understands that Voters who are who would be considered so called blue collar voters. They know Joe Biden well, and I think they trust him. So I think he's done a good job so far, But as I said, before, we have to continue to to reach out to those voters. Doesn't the Biden harriscampaign have tohave a concise and clear campaign message, which Less than 30 days before the election doesn't appear to have emerged the consensus he he seems to be building against President Trump, and it's been born out in how you've spoken about it is Broad rather than specific, which means it's very hard for voters to to be ableto creative vision off a Biden presidency. I wonder if you would accept that criticism? No, I don't think I do only because I think the difficulty in a presidential campaign it's true campaign generally, but in a presidential campaign The more you start making lists of your issues, the more difficult it is to keep people's attention if it were an issue list or a list of where candidates standing on Five or 10, or 15 issues. If that were the way people make their minds up about voting. Democrats would have won a lot more presidential race is the last 25 years. People make a decision about President that is is very personal. Can they make judgments about intangibles about leadership of our compassion about Strength of character, and one of the reasons Joe Biden's ahead is because people see his empathy and his experience. They know that they know that he's an empathetic person, You know, he's got a lot of experience. And they also see his decency and his determination to Lead us out of this mess. That was Democratic Senator Bob Casey. Katie Myer from W. H Y still on the line for us, Katie What are the Republicans doing on the ground in the last few weeks? What's their strategy to try and hold on to Pennsylvania? So sort of like what Bob Casey said. I mean, they are focused on similar areas to the Democrats. They're looking in the northeastern part of the state, where Trump made enormous inroads in places that used to be very, You know, Democratic strongholds. They're also trying to cut into margins in the suburbs. Trump didn't do especially well in the suburbs. In 2016. I think Hillary Clinton had wanted to do a little bit better. So Republicans are trying again to to narrow those margins more and I mean, polls have shown that especially in the suburbs that's going to be a tall order, so I think the big place that they're looking is again. The North eastern part of the state, the western parts of the state. These sort of de industrialized areas and their pitch to voters is really you know, it's threefold. One of the things is that they're going to bring back manufacturing. They're going to bring back jobs. That Joe Biden wants to ban fracking hydraulic fracturing, which is a method of oil extraction, which he has said he doesn't all of these things there are geared toward a very clear message to a very specific type of voter that Donald Trump has your best economic interests in mind on Biden doesn't of course. Provided is attempting to, you know, give that exact same mess to the same voters that he is for unions. Many people still do belong to unions that he is a working class guy from the same place that they're from. And while Trump is, you know a rich man who's been rich asshole life from New York so these warring ways of presenting themselves To thes again very important groups of voters, but another just a very important thing to say about this, too, is that you know this is an election where we don't see very much variation and how people vote. People tend to show in polls that they have their minds made up. And so I talked to this political scientist Chris Boric works. He's a Muilenburg college and he's a pollster there as well. And he says, This is an election where what really matters is margins, the likelihood that Joe Biden outperforms Hillary Clinton in terms of her vote totals, and Pennsylvania is very high. I think holding on to those Clinton voters and expanding through, turn out and maybe Taking a share of undecided voters a larger share of undecided voters. Is a distinct possibility for the Bible campaign. So how do you match that? If you're Donald Trump, we have to expand. Hold your base and expand upon And so I think, just the pool. Of potential voters that Donald Trump could add to his 2016 totals is smaller than the pool that Biden might dip into. And I think the number that Donald Trump got in 2016 by itself won't be enough to win Pennsylvania in 2040. That was political scientist Chris Barak and our thanks to Katie Myer off W H. Why? A Look At The First Presidential Debate Of 2020
"Let's start today's program in the United States then which last night witnessed a chaotic and bitter presidential debate between President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger Joe Biden here's a selection of an use the term loosely highlights. I am urging my people I. Hope it's going to be a fair election of it's a fair election and what I am a hundred percent on board. But of I see tens of thousands of ballots being manipulated, I can't go along with that and I'll. Come accommodation does that mean? People to take. A fraudulent election is people aren't equipped to handle it number one, number two, they cheat. They cheat hey, they found ballots wastepaper basket three days ago they all had the name trump on them if we would have listened to you, the country would have been left wide open millions of people would have died not two, hundred, thousand and one person is too much. It's China's fault. It should have never happened. They stopped it from going in, but it was China's for. But if you look at what we've? Done. I. Closed It, and you said he's xenophobic racist and xenophobic Dr out she said President trump saved thousands of lives. Many of you are Democrat governor said, president trump did a phenomenal job. We worked with the governor a really go take a look. There's a deal. The fact is everything he said so far is simply a lie I'm not here to call out his lies everybody knows he's a liar but you I WanNa make sure what it lasts. It lasts. Hi I. You agreed with Bernie Sanders on a plan how both? The. Aesthetic you have. Have you do this month? Your administration directed federal agencies to end racial sensitivity training that addresses white privilege or critical race theory. I ended it because it's racist. It was a radical, a revolution that was taking place in our military in our schools all over the place and you know it and so does everybody else. Racial sensitivity training to view a certain person, you had no status in life. It was sort of a reversal and really they were teaching people to hate our country and I'm not GonNa do that I'm not going to allow that to happen but. Just, as the rallies to left, would you? Listen, who is on your list Joe Just. The flavor of last night's heated presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Well, let's get more on this now with motorcycles US election correspondent. Thomas Lewis, and our news editor Chris show WHO's here in London Thomas. Let Me Cross to you first of all. Some up if you can what did you make that it was not exactly a particularly edifying spectacle I think it's safe to say, no, it wasn't Tom and it didn't really feel like a debate at all. There is in the sort of you know history of these debates as a sort of sacred toned the stages these candidates president take that when after debated finished, you're watching the US knees anchors who are trying to pick up the coverage afterwards, and they all seemed absolutely stunned and lost for words and kind of shocked by the kind of visceral experience. The the debate is offered them I think Joe Biden obviously seem much more prepared but Donald. Trump's goal. In the whole thing, I think was to fluster him to put him on the back foot to try and reignite this narrative that he's campaigners tried on largely failed to stick to Joe Biden that he's too old. He's doddery. He isn't really fit to lead the nation particularly in a time of crisis Joe Biden for sure had the set pieces if you like of the debate but a lot of the marine lost in the fog of the war of the shouting match and I think for the moderator Chris Wallace for someone who really is considered as one of the best in the business to also have been kind of sat there in silence. For. Large parts of it not quite knowing what to do really did speak in lots of ways to just how extraordinary presidential debate this really was Christiana. You were watching on this side of the you watch the whole thing I. Don't think you probably went into it with a great deal of expectation, but it's safe to say you would. Have to be disappointed by the standard of what you saw. Tom I've watched many debates over the years in the US and you know to Thomas Point there I've I've never quite seen anything like that in the US. The the irony in some ways is that US debates. Political debates kind of jumping off with Thomas said tend to be rather stilted affairs What's interesting for me in part before we talk about the actual substance is that typically that's because of the rules you know often it's very stilted in saying you know this candidate, you have two minutes thirty second rebuttal to the next one one minute rebuttal to you. Now we move. Onto the next topic, this one was an open debate there was always after each question there two minutes for each candidate's is start with that didn't work very well already to begin with because there was a lot of interruptions. But then after that, it was sort of this free for all that very quickly descended into a shouting match essentially between the two candidates the other Issue for me or I think. The. That's that's worth. Pointing out is. I do think that one could say donald trump will feel like he pulled off a rather good performance. This is the persona that he has cultivated over the last three and a half years when it comes to his style as well as the ideas that he has put forward, this is who he is and I think he will feel that he had energized even those supporters that he has to come out I don't think he's won any new supporters with what he's done, but he's energized his own base and by as Thomas said, really sort of. Failing to let by Biden in really to make any strong points because of the constant interruptions. Biden didn't make a very strong mark. I would argue and so that that works in some ways if you want to speak purely political calculations that works to trumps favorite because people are going to be left frankly just depressed with the political process as a result of that the big. Well, we'll come to you rather autistic said was the substance. I didn't detect creative air in a moment but I just wonder on that point about trump he seemed to be I don't know this sort of a twitter feed made flesh. It was just a series of spiky pronouncements angry it was delivered in the style we've come to associate with him on that platform Were there any actual substantive communications that will have registered or was it just about him preview once again he can shout louder. Know the worst some substantive points that that were made and a couple of them played in in those clips that I thought were were quite interesting and highlighted the two different ideologies. One was on the pandemic and the Corona virus you heard Donald Trump talked there as he often does putting all the blame on putting all the blame on China for the coronavirus coming in he also there were a number of exchanges where it was very clear that for Donald Trump it's time for. People to open up again, it's time for the country to open up. He bragged about the fact that he had many people at his rallies. For example, at his political rallies. He felt that was a good thing and he sort of Josh Joe. Biden for you know not being able to get people to his rallies and there was this very poignant moment in that way where the quote was along the lines of trump saying people want to open up and Biden responded. quickly, people want to be safe and so that was a very clear moment in terms of the ideology of the two. I think that will strike people and the second one was on race, which you also heard there there are some very strong moments that again highlighted the sharp differences between the two when it comes to race and protests and the violence that is happening in the US right. Now, there was the bizarre moment you heard there about racial sensitivity training. WHERE DONALD TRUMP DONALD TRUMP rather very depressingly. I would say really double down on this idea that racial sensitivity training is somehow leading to a radical revolution in the United States in education he also refused to openly condemn white supremacist groups. There was this moment where he was asked to condemn the proud boys a white supremacist group and he did not So there were there were moments there that we're really quite depressing. He focused his attention than on Joe Biden saying. You, refuse to speak about law and order I. Think Joe Biden tried to answer that maybe Thomas can speak to this as well. It was interesting how he tried to answer the law and order question I wonder if that is something that you know might lose him some supporters on the left because he was trying to be quite defensive of the polices result of that. So Donald Trump really use his own strategy, what he wanted to do to effect in his world. Let me bring you in. Then on I guess looking from Joe Biden's pointed viewed along with Christie's rated the. was rather difficult for him to. Seize control of the narrative given trump's behavior sort of in the room. What did you make of his performance and would there be any areas that he may find he landed any blows I think Donald Trump's goal was purely to fluster Joe Biden and to throw him off his. Uncertain moments it worked. There were other moments when Joe Biden was alive to speak that you know if they do want to characterize him someone who is a little bit of don't reason quite fully grasp of himself for the facts then Joe Biden did show that he is an accomplished speaker. He had some ideas that were quite forward-looking Donald trump had none of those things and he. was questioned at at certain points asking well, what are your plans and there were really no answers. All Donald Trump wanted to do was as you put earlier Tom to shout the loudest because Donald Trump. Now, to win this election, he readings debate either bring big swathes of voters to his cause which I think last night's performance by him is unlikely to do he also therefore if he Can't that might try and do he didn't twenty sixteen and not is to keep people home to stop people effectively to make the atmosphere. So angry and Sophie Brier the people feel so disenchanted with the electoral process that they just don't vote at tall that was successful for him to a certain degree in two thousand sixteen, I think if the polls are correct and the polling arguably. Is more accurate is more detailed is more specific this time around than it was last time. Then I think that it would take a huge number of people to stay home for Donald Trump to sneak victory in the Electoral College. There were some reports after the debate last night that Joe Biden's team that some sources close to his campaign suggesting that maybe Joe Biden wouldn't take part. In the next two debates, if those debates are going to be like we saw last night because really heat does arguably have the most to lose here given his lead is so large at the moment I'm for Donald Trump. This isn't about sort of setting out to vision for America. This is about just sort of keeping and clinging onto power in the angriest way he possibly can, and I think as Chris mentioned I think that was if that's what the goal was that was pretty successful for him. Last night I think that Joe? Biden? Obviously prepared well, obviously prepared in detail but just a lot of those. A lot of those ideas set pieces that he had brought to the debate stage just weren't really allowed to shine through given just had extrordinary. The climate was on stage last night. It's always great to me. Thanks for being with us, tell us in Chris both the Monaco's. Team looking ahead to November Thomas and here in London Chris China here

"And the listeners of public radio. This is morning edition from NPR News. I'm David Greene. And I'm Rachel Martin. Scientific Americans magazine has been imprint for 175 years, but it has never endorsed a presidential candidate until now. This week, the magazine announced its endorsement of Joe Biden here to talk to us about that decision is the magazine's editor in chief. Lord Helmuth. Thanks so much for being here. No, thank you. Issues related to science of have been part of political debate presidential campaigns even in the past climate change in particular, why make a political endorsement this year? We took this decision very seriously. You know, you don't give up 175 years of tradition for for for nothing, but when we met to talk about our election coverage plans, we unanimously and quickly decided that this year we need Teo. Tell what we know about Consequences The Trump Administration has had for science, healthy environment for using evidence for, you know, really understanding and accepting reality and show that this time the choice is just so important for science that we felt like we needed to say something about it. Do you worry at all that stepping so directly and publicly into into this political moment could alienate some readers. Yeah, we definitely worry about that. And You know, we tried to make the the endorsement as inclusive as possible. We never used the words Republican or Democrat. And we hope that people who have historically been Republicans or who may be voting for Republicans and other races this year will feel included in this endorsement. And will understand that you know, Donald Trump is is, you know an extraordinary president. He's very different in his relationship to reality into evidence and You've just given how many conspiracy theories and how much misinformation he's shared. We hope that anybody who's concerned about using science and using the best evidence we'll feel comfortable voting for Joe Biden this time. What do you want to see from from a possible President Joe Biden. Well, we'd love for him to really science things up and immediately. We think this should be. The first thing he does is rebuild the federal science force bring in the best experts to deal with the most important issues facing the country in the world. Obviously, the first one is the global pandemic. You know, Donald Trump's trying to withdraw from all these agreements to the World Health Organization during a global crisis on he's trying to withdraw from the Paris climate accords in climate changes, the other, you know, most urgent challenge facing the country in the world, and this is no time to deny that those things were really or two Spread your lies and misinformation and just hopeful mutterings about them, eh? So we hope that Biden will take these things very seriously and urgently. Do you think an endorsement from Scientific American Will make a difference for Joe Biden. Yeah, Good question. I mean, we certainly hope so. Most endorsements that come from newspapers or magazines focus on politics. Strictly and those were important and they make important points. But this time, especially, we think science, you know, could be The most important issue, and so we felt a responsibility. Tio views our expertise and knowledge about science and about the consequences of politics for science. To really say clearly that here's what we know. And here's here's what we advise. Or hell? Muff is the editor in chief of the Scientific American magazine. Thank you so much for your time this morning. We appreciate it. Thank you. First there was Brexit and now there's Twix it if I can call it that Switzerland is not a member of the European Union, but some Swiss politicians want to cut at least one of the treaty's It has with Brussels specifically one relating to freedom of movement. They're going to hold a referendum on the idea later this month, but is Rebecca Rossman reports. If they passed this measure, the Swiss could lose out on a lot of other deals with the use well. Switzerland's ruling far right party. The SPP says Brexit was an inspiration for the coming referendum, which will asks with citizens if they want to end free movement with the U. Marco Kiesa, the head of the SPP told Swiss television the UK lefty you for one main reason too much immigration, and he says Switzerland is fed up, too. While Switzerland has never been an official U member, a 2002 agreement made it easier for you citizens to travel in work in Switzerland and vice versa. Today. Switzerland is home to about two million immigrants. Two thirds come from the you, But even though the far right is framing this vote around immigration, the stakes for Switzerland could be much higher than that. I mean, it would really shatter Swiss your relations. Stephanie Walter teaches political science at the University of Zurich. She explains. The Free movement agreement is trying to six other bilateral treaty is on things like trade in aviation. They're all bound to what's called a guillotine Claws. If you cancel one treaty, you cancel all of them. The S B P party hopes that can convince the you to make some sort of compromise. But Walter says that's wishful thinking the you on the other hand things that sweets and already has got one of the best deals off all third party third countries and is not really willing To engage in a lot of compromises, especially not in the context of Brexit, where every move is being very closely watched in the UK polling suggests that around 60% of voters are against the referendum. And the pandemic might be the deciding factor. Without immigrants. Switzerland would face a significant shortage of health care workers Take Geneva's University Hospital system, one of the country's largest. More than half the staff are what's called People who live in the U, but across the border every day to work in Switzerland. We are sitting on some of the prosecution. When asked about that prospect as V P leader, Marco Kiesa said he was scared to see how dependent Switzerland had become on evey worker. The crisis has shown that, he said, And that's exactly why it's time we become more autonomous and independent. The Swiss will go to the polls on September 27th for NPR News. I'm Rebecca Rossman.

"Don't listen. Don't under Obama hymns. It is lefty political reporting This donors don't underestimate Joe's ability to have things up. And then political reported, speaking of his own waning understanding of today's Democrat electorate, especially in Iowa, Obama told 1 2020 candidate quote and you know, it really doesn't have it. Joe Biden. Well then. Well then, and this is the guy. You think again that the Democrats really they're trying so hard to make an out for Trump to steal it, because again it was. It was all this age. He's not going to leave it now it's gonna be well. The only reason Trump won is because Agent indeed they didn't fund the Postal Service and they're a bunch of votes that were in counted it, That's what they're going to say. And again the Postal Service. I'll do all this in 905 the Postal Service unit came out said We don't need the money in the Heroes Act will be just fine. Putting the ballots in like there's no machines that count balance that are going to be dropped out. Heads. It's fine. You're upset that the new postmaster general's gonna take away some blue mailboxes, which, by the way, Obama got rid of a whole bunch also. Nobody's using them. They got like 20 pieces of mail a day, they said 25 Sometimes people don't use that stuff like that and consolidate. It's a waste. There's so much money that we have to pay for so much money. Have you seen the ballot boxes? Now that they're talking about putting out there? People can come by and just trouble out of ballots into these boxes randomly around town? Oh, my gosh. Yeah. There you go. Yeah, that's why they're there. They're trying to do everything They can don't cheat because they have no chance of winning. And they know that no chance of winning. Okay. Zero zip. Zilch. Okay, Um, listen I have more. We'll get to the poll numbers, which were just grew and they're looking really good for Trump. And if you want to believe in the polls, but this is even when he's looking going to CNN Garbage Pole. You know, things are on the way up where they've always been that way. They just can't hide it anymore. Okay, we'll get to that. And then it's honestly comical what they're trying to do about the post office like a post office. People care about the friggin post office. It's Kripke Taylor. Swift said it Wow. Okay, not just There you go. Post office exactly well, and they, they again again Pelosi's first sentence in a letter saying House members come on back, she said that try. You know, Trump doesn't give us the money, it'll it'll delay Social Security checks from going out. Yet Obama back in 2011 said We're no longer going to mail so security checks we're going to save. I think it was 120,000,100 billion. It was it was, uh, some obscene number. Hang on. Where's that? Still, I have the story. He got rid of mailing out the checks. You gave 120 year. June 11 2010. ABC News Obama administration to start Direct Deposit Check is not in the mail. So it's all coming up. Do not go anywhere. "News Sunday host Chris Wallace whether or not the president actually has the power to force the governors to re open places of worship I sure don't think it does I mean you know I'm sure that there is a lawyer who can make the case and you might be able conceivably did just make a first amendment Hey is that you can't permanently or for a long period of time stop churches from and synagogues and mosques from opening even for public health reasons but in terms of just ordering the governors they even began to back off that a little bit by the end of the day and say he would put pressure on them and use the bully pulpit but you know what simple order from the president to re open churches I think that's a hard one to do in our federal system so another big story Joe Biden he's apologizing for remarks on a radio show where he said you white black if you vote for Donald Trump in November now Biden says it's really unfortunate he made those remarks Chris how damaging could that be and does it in any way suggest the busiest ranks to Joe Biden is Joe Biden well I don't think it's terribly damaging it's embarrassing you should miss that I think a white man telling black people that their blackness depends on whether or not they support him you know it's one thing he's got a good long strong civil rights record he can talk about that brag on that but to somehow question people's racial identity if they don't support him as he is sad it's cavalier and it sounds like he's kind of dictating to them and he rightly apologised to I think it's going to have any lasting effect with all of the things that the president says and Biden says this will be a long forgotten next week let alone next fall but it does raise a serious question and that is a good job makes a lot of mistakes and he's been somewhat protected from himself because of the cold with virus he's been stopped in his basement studio at his home in Delaware but at some point he's going to have to get back on the trail the benefits in a socially distant way and he's got to be better and more careful and more precise and how he speaks those are not words precise and careful the one normally associates with Joe Biden.

"I think she was talking about my player not yours I think we were talking about math and it doesn't take two hours let's talk about what we let's talk about okay so here's the thing being as well senator Sanders is my turn that was that was a full thirty seconds and that's what the whole thing sounded like on CBS last night during this democratic debate it was this free for all battle royale all candidates just talking over each other yeah only Joe they're interrupting one another look the whole battle royale thing works in the W. W. E. because you've got announcers who are giving you commentary about what's going on and what they're focusing on this was just like what seven people was it seven yes seven or eight people well over many there arm trying to count on count seven right now it's over seven people up on stage and all the shouting at each other they're all raising their hands whose idea was that like their little children all raising their hands so it's just like who have they not gotten a format that working out now I will say this here on the Tony catch today program if it made for great TV from the standpoint of you will see people argue you want to you want the interaction between the candidates you just want them to fight it's funded clown on these people but as far as somebody who's tuning in to see who the candidates are this was a bad look and that's why I say Donald Trump was the big winner in this presidential battle royale they put on last night I mean everybody tells me that Joe Biden had a great night the Joe Biden was the winner because he didn't have any huge gas and he had a lot of energy and we're going to go through all the candidates in the performances but the top line is that Joe Biden solidified his standing as the front runner in South Carolina overall you got Bernie Sanders you know as it was with Warren said last night that we Bernie isn't winning right now Bernie's winning right now he was center stage everybody was taking shots at Bernie over the Castro comments he made earlier in the week on CNN praising Fidel Castro's communist regime in Cuba for their literacy rates of all things while not condemning the regime as a whole refusing to do that he's doubled and tripled and quintupled down on that what we're gonna get into Bernie a good bit and how he became the front runner public with Joe Biden this guy he just got up there and have a lot of energy but he still was a bit of a bumbling mess given notice when Joe Biden talks about something he's accomplished it all wrote the bill on drug courts tonight I contain the a ball of virus I did this I did that well you've been in government for forty plus years been there forever what it's always the same bit with Joe Biden I'm the one who did that I did that president yet Joe Biden well you're an idiot you dropped out Iran again sometime later and you dropped out the closest you got was VP so just like a big commercial for I've been there forever and I've never ever one is my turn my turn kind of deal it honestly the the one candidate up there who strikes me as somebody maybe maybe I can vote for whomever million years but maybe maybe there's a chance like you're saying there's a chance Amy Klobuchar is probably the most sane and rational candidate on that stage when you get down to it but here's the problem sane and rational and pragmatic doesn't win primaries it doesn't Bernie Sanders a self said all we need an exciting grassroots with a lot of energy we have to be exciting we adventure and excitement yes I know that's not older Gen I craves craves not those things but this is what we need to go Donald Trump is something exciting and you're boring you know bar and I'm waving my hands on the air like a swatting that bees and pointing and I got mole you know only thing going on with like Bernie Sanders so yeah I mean watching that last night for example my wife who is highly educated she's highly intelligent but she's got other things to do I she's a pharmacist and she treats cancer patients so she doesn't have a lot of time school open on the Twitter and find out who said what about whom it is due three Democrat primary she walked in the room last night as I'm watching this debate she's like oh my god what is happening was this old guy hello as Bernie so I know it's Bernie blue who is he wait is hands around you got Tom spire over there really is a bobble head and she's like oh my god this here is really what it comes down to and this is what somebody in radio a long time ago told me about talk radio in it is it's true both talk radio it is true about politics people don't remember what you say they remember how you made them feel it when you watch the debate last night this all out battle royale with little Mike Bloomberg and Thomas Dyer little born in eighty clover shark party Sanders and Joe Biden people to judge how to make you feel I made a lot of people feel like none of these people can be Donald Trump and you're resigned to four more years of trump which probably isn't the worst thing in the world yeah and they they even blame the blame for the corona virus so if you if you believe that maybe it is the end times but we've got a front runner who is an avowed socialist at this point in the democratic primary whose fault is that how did we get there are we will assign blame as to how Bernie Sanders a socialist is in the lead in this democratic primary will do it next right here on Tony catch today a mix of a "Mention Joe Biden well I was mentioned just as very unimportant lady and as you know Joe Biden's son became a rich as soon as Joe Biden became vice president and in my way of thinking and that's totally corrupt and the press this is what I talk about the the media they don't want to cover it every Republican is shaking their head they can't believe it I have the highest rating ever in the history of the Republican Party ninety five percent approval Ronald Reagan was an eighty seven percent he was second they see what I'm saying Joe Biden ways is criminal what they've done and frankly is that they get away with it is amazing the son who was who didn't have a job who got thrown out of the navy who was really down and out all of a sudden is making millions and millions and millions of dollars working with Ukraine had no knowledge of energy was working with an energy company here though has no knowledge of energy and they were paying him I guess many people say a hundred and sixty eight thousand a month it varies but we know it's very high and millions of dollars then he goes to China picks up one point five billion dollars for a fund which is tens of millions of dollars a year in fees and other things and now with other countries are coming to light it's it's a pay off it's absolutely a pay off are you glad you with us our to Sean Hannity show that was from bill o'reilly's podcast bill o'reilly dot com I'm the thing that I took out of that is and and bill's going to join us on a second is if you go back to the transcript remember the part of the transcript way and it was is all I need you to do me a favor I remember Ukrainian court had determined that Ukraine was involved in election interference in twenty sixteen on behalf of Hillary Clinton politico chronicled all of this in their January eleventh twenty seventeen article what do we do now we bet on the wrong horse and they even went into the great details of a D. and C. contracted by the name of Alexandra chalupa going to the Ukrainian embassy in Washington DC and in that embassy colluding apparently according to them with the with Ukraine to dig up dirt not only on trump or trump associates but at one point after the president said I need you to do me a favor because we spent three years looking into election in appearance and I thought that mattered the president says to the new president someone ski I think your surrounding yourself with many of the same people and I don't think that's good now what was the president's saying they're the present rose was saying that there's been nothing but corruption in Ukraine and the fact that yeah they're court politico it already written about it interference can you help us get to the bottom of it which I thought everybody wanted to get to the bottom of except they don't care about election in appearance if it's Clinton's dirty bought and paid for Russian dossier they never cared about that door I guess they care about Ukrainian election interference because they were helping Hillary but that wind their show the suspicion that Donald Trump had with the new president well I think your surrounding yourself with this many of the same people and these are bad people anyway bill Reilly had the interview yesterday the question was great and I think the answer was even better but when you look at it through that prism bill I don't I don't know how much of this you've been following but you we have the Ukrainian court decision I'm not sure if you read the January eleventh twenty seventeen political piece a long piece RT Irish first of all the the entire interview is going to be posted it today on bill o'reilly dot com for premium members and hundreds of radio stations around the country so basically you're saying that the handy if I want the rest of the interview I gotta pay yeah you gotta go to bill o'reilly dot com and the no no no I know I have to become a premium member what we get back to you well one that I get my premium members nobody is this my Christmas present no it's a good idea and I would come right down the chimney inanity but anyway it's it's the first extensive radio interview I'm sorry I like this radio stuff by the way I know you that years ago when you didn't listen to me I'm sort of like this troop forty minute interview covers everything here's the salient point from the clip that you just chosen I was the first question I asked him this is not a cupcake interview by the way this is a tough interview he is furious Donald Trump is furious that he is being attacked over things that he feels are insignificant regarding Ukraine while Joe Biden obviously admitted to doing something fairly serious and his son as you pointed out took out millions of dollars from the comp that country and nobody in the press mentions it this is going back to work his hatred comes obsession and hatred for the medium the last week we talked about the fix was in on the debate member that right I just want to reiterate this that not one question was asked of Joe Biden on the debate stage last week in Atlanta all right by his fellow Democrats who need to knock him down or by the for moderators about hunter Biden or Joe Biden's participation that is incredible that couldn't happen in a media that was even remotely fair and the fix was in the candidates were told by the DNC and their apparatchiks not to ask the question if they did not gonna get the nomination and the moderators were in the tank anyway so top knows all that then in during my interview with him he comes back to a time and time again why are they persecuting me they the media and they allow all of this other stops by the opposing party and the opposing ID a lot ideology the last to go on cover to go unchallenged that is eating away at him and that is what's driving all of what's happening now the good news you drop is that polls are now shifting over to him and the Democrats are in disarray they don't know what to do and I understand he's a huge argument going on between the forces that want to carry the impeachment forward and the Democrats to say let's forget this in censure him and move ahead that argument going on as we speak very quietly medial never reported but it's happening here's what I took out of it was a great question and his answer was great too but I maybe you got to help me out here I I was kidding around the year yesterday say not not I mean the therapy because the very thing that they say that they're upset about all the time they always say we're upset about Russian interference none of them cover the dirty dossier not I don't care about that I don't know his my question and and they said they cared about obstruction but they didn't care about the subpoenaed emails deleted and bleach but in the hammers they say their I. believers but not a peep about the lieutenant governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia for Ukraine interference but here's the thing bill yeah I have a quit in a protocol you're not getting the billion unless you're part of the process here is of course how but that's breathtaking hypocrisy I'm having a hard time dealing with it help but you I don't know why you in trump are having a hard time dealing with because of me going on for so long not this bad no that's true it's now reach critical mass where I believe the majority of Americans don't trust the media at all and and the media is not coming back when trump leads by the way still it's it's as you were ever Boca ball it's a spectacular level of hypocrisy that you got all the other zero experience under his it's more than a block received your job is to find the truth journalists which you don't care about the truth if it hinders the leftist agenda so it's all about promoting the leftist agenda and and you see it across the board which is why people watch you who don't warrant less this on television in great numbers in the city radio program because they know and they would like to have the other point of view which is never going to get in the mainstream media but but trump is really really furious about this and and he can't do anything about it and that adds to his frustration he can out the main column fake news and mock them at rallies but you can't change it and that drives him crazy because he usually gets what he wants does this in the end to questions does this help him and you agree with me that Donald Trump has for ever tattooed in look into the foreheads of this mob in the media the branding of fake news I believe that CNN will collapse when trump leaves the White House so that might answer your latter question I believe that the New York times in a wash I think I may collapse too because I'm working my **** off but go ahead well you need a vacation I'll I'll I'll sit in for you by the way if you want to get a get a few headlines anyway the best of it to keep a Pepsi is the media it is never going to be respected in the me in America again because of Donald Trump and that'll be part of trump's legacy he brought down the media even eat if you need to actively either passively let me ask you this do well I didn't get the answer the second part of the question do you think this because I believe everything they're doing is helping to reelect him okay it's too difficult to say the easy answer is yes but I'm not going to do that because I don't know he's going to run against I know this is Joe Biden gets the nomination every day of Joe Biden's life he will hear the words hunter Biden because trouble make it V. signature anti Biden diatribe trump will kill him on that Democrats know it but we're also going to go to well moody judge got killed today I'll tell you what I know he got killed today but let them I'll tell you the answer I think if you look at Axelrod supporting a backing devol Patrick I'd like to get it done they don't know him okay so it's too late for Deval Patrick to get in I know that the Obama people want a man and I know that but maybe it's it's some surgeon South Carolina may be with you how much money is going to take to get to the Patrick Nolan from the American public nobody knows him so he's and he's not Barack Obama was a fantastic campaigner about that it's not that is so to me it's a default situation you know we're voting Americans devoting less than two months we start the process that nobody knows about Patrick same thing with Bloomberg boomer can buy it you see I think it helps trump but where you're very well you're rightly cautious and and look bill we are now for three hundred forty three days away from election night what you're what you're saying is and I never make predictions about elections I just see if somebody is in the position to win and I saw trump was in the position away and and look I went out on a limb and I told my conservative friends he's really a conservative but the problem for any Republican as you start without New York California New Jersey Illinois so to win you've got a thread the needle and take North Carolina Ohio Florida obviously then you got to pick off Pennsylvania Michigan Wisconsin maybe New Hampshire maybe Nevada Arizona it's not easy ready Republic but if the trend and I don't believe the polls I think your push polls I don't believe them but as we saw today African Americans started come around stay right there that the polls are huge I want to pick up on that when we get back with bill o'reilly on his interview with president trump will be on bill o'reilly dot com unlike all of you I just got a free membership for Christmas maybe bill will give one out before the end of the program today I will be glad to pass it on to one of our lucky listeners build low is going to target you go to Walt your smelly Walmart shopper like me right trip thanks thanks a lot no I am I am I am a proud member Peter struck several bunch of smelly smell the trump voters but shopping at Walmart I'm one of them and I love Walmart and I also love target wits and wagers on sale at target because right all.
Brutal Day For Trump From Congress To The Courts
"Good evening I'm Erin Burnett out front tonight the breaking news it is a brutal day for president trump from Congress to the courts I explosive testimony from a key witness in the inquiry the former ambassador to Ukraine defined trump and the State Department's order to stay silent and as I speak Ambassador Marie you've it is L. Meeting with key members of Congress behind closed doors we expect her to come out this hour and the committee chair and ranking member to speak live here on C. N. N. so as we await that here is what we the ambassador pointed the finger directly at trump accusing the president of the United States of targeting her because she stood up for the rule of law and of course remember she refused to push team trump's conspiracy theories about Joe Biden well today trump tried to act like this was all nothing he said this she may be a wonderful a woman I don't know her but she she may be very much a wonderful woman I just don't know her she may be a wonderful woman he doesn't know her she Abia Wonderful Woman well unfortunately according to the very transcript that trump calls perfect professional end word for word he talked about Ivanovich to the president of the frame saying quote the former ambassador from the United States the woman was bad news and it isn't just in the transcript. He went off the wonderful scripted actually contradicting himself at the same question and answer session here he is at another point I heard very bad things about her and I don't know if I recall somebody gold but I heard very very bad things about it for me it does not good okay so trump's stumbling around there from one version to another comes after five setbacks today coming within hours of each other Democrats could be within reach of temp trump's tax return so this was a crucial court ruling a federal judge ruling against trump's lawsuit to keep those taxes under wraps another federal judge yet another lawsuit ruling against trump signature pet project the wall and then another loss in court three other federal judges just blocking trump's will making it harder for immigrants to obtain legal status trump's response pretending knows nothing about it we lost an immigration I haven't heard that would perhaps the best thing you can put on what was a very bad day first presidency is I hadn't heard that Pamela Brown is out front live outside the White House and Pamela look this was not a good day for the president that's right Aaron he is ending this week with a barrage of negative headlines I in a move viewed in this white all says an act of defiance the former Ukrainian ambassador a testified on Capitol Hill today that the president directly campaigned for her to be fired for Political Purpose says now Democrats claimed the White House try to block her from testifying but she showed up anyway now the president addressed or testimony he said that she may be a quote wonderful woman but he doesn't know her and then deflected saying it was a Ukrainian president who did not like her and then a devastating blow air in the president also lost several high profile four cases today earlier today he lost that court battle over turning over turning over several years of his tax returns to Congress his lawyer say they are weighing an appeal on that decision by the DC appeals court and then he lost some court battles on his signature policy focus emigration a federal in Texas ruined the President's national emergency declaration to build a border wall as unlawful and there's another defeat Aaron a federal judge today blocked a trump administration rule that makes so more difficult for emigrants who rely on public assistance to obtain legal status now I asked the president directly about this today he said he hadn't heard about the rules on immigration sure when I asked him this has been several hours after the royds came out but he did express competence that he would win and he pivoted to focus on all the judges he is put on the bench Aaron thank you very much and I'm GonNa go to Democratic Congresswoman Val demings who sits on both the House intelligence and committees congressman thanks so much for being with me so as far as I understand that the deposition with the former ambassador to Ukraine Marie Ivanovich is still ongoing and we expect it to end momentarily Mr Schiff Mr Jordan to come out and address cameras live so we're awaiting that but I know obviously your staff is in that room you have been briefed on what has happened so far so as far as you know did she say anything that furthers your impeachment case against President Trump will high air and it's great to be with you and let me just say this may be bad day for the president but it's actually been a good day for those of us who are in pursuit of justice in pursuit of the facts and who are involved in this impeachment inquiry my hat's off to ambassador your which who number one appeared today as you've already stated has been behind closed doors testifying all day long and there is no doubt that this is a career foreign service officer who took our old fair very seriously served admirably for our country committed to her duty and that really demonstrated itself today in her testimony the she's very courageous and today was no exception has she spoken directly or how has she been about what she was explicitly asked to do in terms of getting Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son while I can't get as you well know into the details of her testimony what I can tell you is that she's been behind closed doors giving her disposition all day long and she certainly added very all you bold testimony she we would consider her a critical critical witness in our impeachment inquiry and I think she's added value and there's
For Trump, a high-velocity threat like none he's ever faced
"President drop is facing a high velocity threat like none ever it's rapidly involved from a process fight over a whistleblower complaint to an impeachment inquiry at issue is a phone call which trump asked Ukraine's president to help investigate democratic rival Joe Biden well special counsel Robert Muller is investigation looked at an array of people in trump's orbit but not always the president himself trump doesn't have the benefit of distance
"joe biden wells" Discussed on WMAL 630AM
"So Peter juicy yesterday. Joe biden. Well, a lot of reporters asking Joe some questions. Great question. Peter doocy. Ask Joe Biden. You are the best choice for the Democrats in twenty twenty. Why didn't President Obama endorsing? I asked president not your doors. He doesn't wanna we should whoever wins his nomination should win it on their own merits. Right. And I didn't ask all the boys in high school tonight asked me to the prom. I told them all Tony from so, okay. I don't wanna go. I should I should be asking my merits. You know, has nothing to do with anything, especially the, you know, the hot guys, I told them, you know, stay away, boys. I want to win it on my own merits. It's so silly. He didn't ask Obama endorse him at b s meters going up big time on that come on. I mean, a Obama sitting this thing out this is one of those things. He's grow bombers like dope. I know you're gonna ask says not endorsing you. I gotta say I'm gonna sit this one out. Wait till the end is like, no, no, no, don't don't even say, Mr President. Don't even say, a look you shouldn't endorse me Joe Biden jumps. Okay. I don't want. It's like you can't fire me. I quit exactly. Barrick calling from Seattle. Wow. Super early in Seattle Barrett. Good morning. You're mornings on the mall. Good morning guys. Like, I just wanted to hear hearing those ladies talk. You know, if I want to be questions from those guys, you know, I don't know where in my life. Guy that's going to go in there and get the job done them like and what's going on right now. And if we compare it to the eight years of Obama, I mean, my healthcare is awful. And the economy was awful where I was at. And I would love to ask us women. Have you ever been to Pennsylvania? Have you seen like the policies of Joe Biden like what it's done to that state? Well, he represented Delaware. Even though he's from Scranton, Pennsylvania. And I have to say Delaware's aware, a lot of people go because of their tax laws have low low taxes, but that's that's due to local and state politics there. But Barrett being in Seattle, God bless ya. I see is one of those places. I don't think I could just so liberal. It's just so dominated by liberal policies. I don't think I could do it. Thanks for listening gives us sleep two o'clock in the morning out there, but they have coffee and Microsoft. Well, there's an upset. All right. Well, we have coffee too. And I don't know. I couldn't do. Wrestling with Microsoft computer in front of her exactly. We need to show because on during when we're when the Mike turned let's go to Andrew in Leesburg, injure. Good morning, you're on mornings on the mall high morning. I love the feel part you hit it right on the head Mary anytime to ever talk to anyone from the left. It's always how I feel. Everything's about my feelings, and what I feel things should be instead of reality. But I listen to Joe Biden, all I feel nauseous. It's it's so hard because there's an entire generation, which is why for the millennials. You've got you've got them favoring Joe Biden over Donald Trump by twenty two points. And that's because they have been raised their entire lives. It's all about how you feel your feelings are reality. They were they weren't really taught how to think critically how to rationalize how to take facts. And it's all about. Well, what do you feel? How do you feel about this? My parents didn't give a rat's patootie about my feelings. When when I was growing, my parents, I really don't care. It's about facts. It's not about your feelings. Thank you Indra. Presidential politics is always a balance between a personality contest and also in popularity contests and and also some policy, unfortunately, probab- in never enough policy, and that goes down to you know, preferences of American voters who they like who they trust a lot of it's got instinct, right? But especially in the Democratic Party right now, they are consumed by having a feelings based agenda, and there's a whole bunch of things that go into it that you shouldn't offend liberals. That's key. But look at two of their their most popular candidates Beto compete Buddha. Judge are blank slates of policy nothingness. They're just they're just guys who are attracting attention Buddha. Does magic tricks like sign language and speaking other languages and Beto, where's the same certain stance on tree stumps? People are like, yeah. I like that guy. It's all about feelings fee. Lolo with ost up five twenty to interview a male four months ago, you resolve to lose weight and get fifth.
