"I think it still works. I think the rocking dead album is a really good album. It's not the same wild and loose more analog medal of of let loose. But i still think it's a really cool album and i think that you you can hear in that whereas my copy of this here i wanted to mention Think you can hear that that The band definitely still has a lot of personality. And they do a really good job of this whole Of this whole deaf leopard pyromaniac fool and die hard. The hunter sort of drama But yeah hey me on lead vocals. Love the guy gordon bonner on guitars. They even have another guitars. Called punky mendoza. Very very Confusingly obviously there's a. There's an angel guy called that and gary mode on drums but Yeah in one of the one of the all time. Coolest live shots is on the back of the the. Let loose album actually. Yeah that's that's the other thing. I think they i. It's called latin lucia. That's the funny thing at my. My canadian copy just called heavy. Patent is actually doesn't have let loose on it. yeah. I think it's called let loose in in the uk. Yeah the other thing. That's really interesting about the first one is that it's produced by. Brian may and mac. I forgot about that. So it has a bit of a mac sound to it that that really slapping bass sound on it. And who produces the second one recorded at boba. Whoa a lot of different studios. All tracks produced engineered by mark dearly except during now. john jets. I don't know who these guys are. So yeah the first one. Ironically the more analog one in it's got a bit of a mac sound and this one is the more mutt lang but even when heavy petting does the motte lang thing they kinda do it in a in a kind of amateurish loose bolted sort of style. But i think it works and it has tons and tons of charm So there you go all different examples. Here we've got. We've got a paul samson. Who's kind of stuck in the seventies and they don't really make it because he never feels part of this. We've got an iron maiden who's a super famous band. But ironically there almost the most new wave of british heavy metal of of all of them. We've got chateau and grim reaper. That go together so much that i confuse them for a second there You know the big darrell johnson. Sound the three albums and done kind of thing and we've got heavy petten pointing the way to this whole idea of the new wave of british heavy metal Being replaced by something. I mean at at this point. They're looking at def leppard. But at this point the whole thing is getting replaced by the nascent. Hair metal scene in california sewer. You're getting the rise of Of rat and dock and and grim reaper and quiet ride and those bands. So it's moving over to that but out of all these as you can tell. I only pick one. That has any sort of kind of like look to the future. And that's the heavy patent now honorable. Mentions let's start with nineteen eighty four. I'm just gonna rattle these all off here and you'll see it was pretty slim pickings. I mean i really think Some of the best new wave of british heavy metal albums ever But the last really really really truly great ones are all in one thousand. Nine hundred eighty three But anyways nineteen eighty-four gave us i and forgive me. There's the odd one of these that might be not from a britain. I don't think so. I kind of i kind of check most of them against my smokin. Valves book but Evanger blood sports baby taku first-born. So there's one of the band's that's moving forward battle-axe power to the universe. Still very rough. Black rose boys will be boys still really rough but a little deaf leopard to them. Blade runner hunted bronze taken by storm. There's there's a glossy aor kind of thing. I chair chariot the warriors. Still the old sound china white run for cover a cloven hoof cloven hoof. That's one a lot of people like dark harsh of the night very amateurs deanna deanna. Paul deanna doing kind of a hair mentally thing fast way all fired up you may not consider them a new wave of british heavy metal band. But that's still a pretty decent album not as good as the eighty three album. Helen back the big h the famous you case version of Van halen holland early warning. They are british jaguar. This time there's an interesting case. So here's a band that's giving up their. They're fast and furious. New wave of heavy metal sound of of the power games album and they're moving to a very commercial sound With with this time legris break. Constrain is only ep. But i wanted to mention it because it's so good. Maniac shouted out There's another band. That's kind of seeing. What's going on in america and moving towards that sound Marseille touched the night. See here's marseilles going kind of poppy. Saxon crusader nada degrade album and way lighter than the previous album. The eighty three album tank honor and blood still totally heavy and like this means war but but really not that good. The songwriting is going downhill. The next one. I almost included tokyo blade. Night of the blade Because tokyo blades are really underrated band. A very professional. They could have gone places good accessible but still pretty heavy sound tyson dog. Beware the dog. Pretty scrappy venom at war with satan. Nineteen eighty-four so this is the one famously with the whole side of one song But essentially they have really changed their sound Since since black metal and welcome to hell Warfare pure filth. They're like the dirty version combination of motorhead tank venom a wildfire summer lightning. That's an album my really like getting a little commercial wolf edge of the world clueless wrath child stack attack famously a britain's version of a motley crue and nineteen eighty five. We had angel which screaming and bleeding Not great avenger killer elite pretty heavy not great blind fury out of reach so this is kind of wrapped up in that whole And i think titan rough justice i think is wrapped up in this as well. I'm not sure. But the whole posts satan Blitzkrieg kind of world blitzkrieg for that matter a time. It changes i that whole story. I've i would have to deconstruct. 'cause i always get it. Confused Maniacs has has another one going for gold so their second album is eighty five raven. Stay hard this is. They're famously kind of going downhill at this point. Savage hyperactive is your exact same situation. As jaguar where they make a scorching scorching classic in nineteen eighty three. But hyperactive kind of a disaster. Eighty five saxon is also back with innocence is no excuse not great Tokyo blade even has another album blackheart. Jaded spades which is really good again. I could have included those guys Tobruk wild on the run. That's another one. He's commercially ones. I believe tiga panting. The wreckage famously. This is their second very very commercial album. I in a row. They had the cage before that And the and the first two are the first three are all very squarely new british heavy metal. But so here's here. You're seeing in a lot of these examples a lot of these. Uk bands are trying. Half of these bands are doing what they always did. Which is either you know. One version of new a bush heavy metal or even the heavier heavier version so some of these bands are starting to heavy up a little bit like a combination of venom and may be looking over at metallica and anthrax and things like that maybe anvil And starting to actually get a little heavier. The same way punk moved into hardcore and oil and all that right up so some of them are doing that. But i'll a whole bunch of these. British bands are also trying by nineteen eighty five and late. Eighty four trying to do A sell out commercial. Aor radio whatever you wanna call it nascent version of electronic drums and it and every single one of them falls flat on their face like the like none of these bands translate You know i've often said like okay. Why did all these bands fail like one of the reasons. They all failed. Is that either from the uk in there from a whole different sensibility but be you know. None of them wanted to move to la and like immerse themselves into that scene and get better making that kind of music so they were isolated and it was usually kind of like a one and done and off shuffled off in the in the embarrassing zone. Right so Yeah titan rough justice venom possessed so venom basically makes another album. That's pretty pretty darn good. And it sounds essentially like black metal They got a lot of heck for it at the time and then finally wasted the good. The bad the wasted so wasted had eighty three album. And here they are within eighty five. They don't really fit in the new bridge heavy metal either because it's a bunch of old veterans right ufo related So there you go. I mean this was a long list of albums. I could included in here and i really don't believe most of these albums are really all that good at all. So you know. The new wave of british heavy metal. Purists would probably start saying it's all over by eighty two You know eighty three is a sensible year to end up. But like i say in my trilogy of those books which i believe i still have all three of them available here in the office. So smokin valves Wheels of steel in this meet. This means war The second and the third. The one is reviews of every single and every album that ever came out in the neighbors heavy metal so nine hundred record soil and the other two are our timeline with quotes kind of like the oral history of the thing and i ended it in nineteen eighty four. So that's my point there All right so there you go Hope like this episode. I mean i consider this almost like a little bit of a downer episode to basically say it kind of started fizzling after eighty three. And there's not much left to it already in eighty four and certainly in eighty five so those people who go that far Really there's there's just not a lot of fun left in the new british heavy metal. I think after the end of nineteen eighty three to sum up. I if you like this episode and want to support future episodes please go to kofi rhymes with no fee dot com slash. Martin popoff hit that red support button and by me cough. Your pint was a little like this week. And i just found out today. I'm doing this episode. Actually early. "Like a sprint. Yeah, this guy. Yes, they do have these places now where you can just stay in your car and get the food So, Yeah, they do. Tell me about this. Did you order a head on your phone to our little speaker contraption that you drive up to first Did you call ahead? Sometimes You can even understand what they're saying to you, right? Did you call ahead for a sausage biscuit or something? It's not Joe, who is the right answer. Who would be the most satisfying team in the league this year to be in the postseason. I think my answers Tampa It's It's it is Brady like pulling something I can hold a grudge. I hold a grudge. I still hold a grudge over Brady. Like I have not beat him ever. You want to lose to them in the regular season first, and then when Would you rather have it Go like that losing at the time? Yeah, Yeah, just to build it up a little bit more. Yeah, I don't know if I need the regular season game, though. I don't know how much I'm gonna care about. I'll care about that game, but I'm not near what it would be like. If they were to do it in a Super Bowl. It just would feel like they've They've evened it out. They've even the score yet. They beat me. Brady beat me 23 24 times. Whatever it is, I win the Super Bowl over him. I'm even I don't think so. I don't I don't look at it like that. But you know you can't turn the Brady legacy around. As far as the bills go, you can't you can't turn that around different franchises 17 Super Bowls they lose. The Brady loses in the Super Bowl of the bills This year is like, all right, What's the next golf she might not care? But for from my psyche and verbal psyche like I think That it would be even on our side. And it was always a one way street was. What were the bills to Brady? Oh, nothing, Nothing, not even speed bump. No, like he was forced to play here. Once a year. Pre C had to sleep in the hotels or whatever, like he just didn't want to do it. Amazingly, he did it. I don't know They're not number one for me. They're not last. I feel I feel like you're in luck. We'll choose how we think he's going to feel or would feel about it. Of course, we have no idea. But you just saying that about the hotels, I feel like Brady. Somewhere in there may be right at the very top of you. Like I just lost a friggin buffalo in the Super Bowl. What Nobody's ever done that right? And I and I like I treat this team like they're like my my personal bank account. I just make it withdraw. Need to win. Go go to Buffalo to do that, to him in that spot would be amazing. Of course, Of course he he's got seven just, you know, I know at some point, he's only gonna feel so bad sitting on some mountaintop next to Jesus in Brazil with his wife. It'll be fine. But there will be a moment where he is is sitting there on the field watching Josh Allen celebrate with that trophy going I just bringing lost a buffalo. But the bills are that is the moment I am living for right now. The bills are good now he didn't lose the 2010 buffalo that we can that we can't get All right. So you guys think Tampa I say Dallas? Who is the top a FC team on this list? Kansas City than New England. Yeah, I think that's Oh, man, I don't know. I'm not sure I put Kansas City first. The 11 thing about Kansas City is that's likely as to be in the A F. C championship. So I guess it has the best chance of being the biggest game. Like I said, Jacksonville before. Less likely to be the opponent in the A F. C championship. Probably, you know, but less likely the first round. You're just trying to. I'm trying to deal in some reality here, so New England, I think is great for this. You beat Baltimore if that if they raided Cleveland is kind of cool. Miami might be a little bit cool. Jets might be a little bit cool already. Said Tennessee, Tennessee. Uh, Tennessee. Get me Tennessee that they might be. They would be one for me. That would be third after Kansas City, New England, Alright, I hate the Titans. Everything about them. Yep. And in New England. This may be a little weird for me to blurt that out so quickly, like right behind Kansas City, But we're still just talking about regular season games. And like in this scenario, New England is in the playoffs, so they rebounded from their lousy year last year, and they're back and now I'm going to stand in their way. And that to me would be it would be pretty hot. Yes, very, very hot, Scorching. I agree. Alright, well, skin started here at the ends of the list and then a little bit of time in the middle. Got to figure out whether they would rather have the bills beat. Atlanta. Or Arizona in the Super Bowl as we rank the entire league. Over the court, however long that takes I don't know. That might be tough. That's pretty. That's pretty random. You know. Who would you rather turned on GR today? Who would you rather beat in the Super Bowl, the Falcons or the Cardinals? Arizona or Atlanta both rate very highly in in the You lost a Who in the Super Bowl department for me, Like just you know how I feel about Atlanta? I mean, they get there and blow at 25 Point lead late. Like what? Then? They're gonna beat me. Get out of here. Arizona. I mean, just cut it out. You were lucky to beat me last year like I would just feel gross about both of those. You don't want to lose to somebody that's winning their first. Right, somebody else to be winning their first. All right, well, we have to figure that out later. 80305 50, Who's number one. You can also Tweet at us. In fact, that's another way. I didn't really know what i wanted to be until i show these two policemen come on On the bus and they happen to sit directly across from where i was sitting on the bus were on their way to go up because his the hand and three things stroke me about that is. The first thing was a on the bus with not having them. Hey i thought that was the second thing was they had these guns and i thought that was pretty impressive. Third thing that struck me was they were happy and the the cops were happy time which other ended up thinking that maybe that would be something. I could do the police tests. And i got appointed w later i can finally went on at least one in uniform. After a year. Until i i ended up as an anti-crime cop basically they will claim. Plain-clothes detail we would jump at. So we will try to make cases last balance out there the allies guys and believe it or not lot of intelligence. I got came from the houses because when these folks were on trial. I'm sitting in every day at the trial and i watch and see how they interacted. She who the voices would just by the way they handle each other. And you on the san into these guys. And i didn't affoil is in that i made sajjan and walked in uniform again for about a year and then i went into the detective division as a detective. Sergeant all amanda in a bunch of different places again in brooklyn sort of broken up the Broken out and all the gangsters were brooklyn. Ny happened to be googling off until the avenue. I started my own company in midtown manhattan investigative Seventeen years i retired. The young closed up. And then i started writing news novels. And that's what i do that interested. He had quite a varied career. You've got a lot of fodder. Shall we say of for those novels for crime novels. Be you'd say it all sounds like you're gonna tell you something about do. See so much that you know you had the thought. Row seating circus all chromatic. Everybody else really honestly honest with you. The medicine inside. "Maybe summer. Um, maybe maybe some other time down the road in the future. Um, just kind of depends on how I play this spring and You know how beer shakes out. We know 2020 wasn't really crazy year as far as like the tournament's being canceled, so I'll definitely give it some thought After the spring season, Caitlin as you as you played last week, and you're you were around the elite. In the golfing world. What area of your game? Did you say? Hmm? Maybe I need to work on this a little harder. Maybe I need to do this a little harder or some park portion of your game that you saw. Maybe last week. When you say acting improve, I could be better. I've got together with out instructor check took on there was this and we both agreed that if I could just work on being a little bit more consistent with my irons and kind of nailed down. One or two more things in my swing them that could make a really big difference. My short game felt great at the Opens. I think if anything, just getting a little bit more consistency, am I I am play. Let me ask you. I know we had a lot of golf geeks out there. What type of irons you play? What type of putter do you have? And what type of woods do you have? Caitlin? I have ping, author of the bag. Wow. Wow. Why did you make that determination just always played Ping. Um, early on in high school. I played, um, title of clubs. And I was kind of looking around It. Driver's probably four years 45 years ago, and I went up to tango. Try some clubs, and I figured I might as well You know, explore my options with the iron from the ledge is on the Potter and I end up liking all of their clubs. So I played with saying ever since that's wonderful, now unfinished business because the Texas women were favored to take the crown in the inside, double A's last bring, and sadly there were canceled. Is that number number one with you and coach Murphy and coach Golden the rest of members of the Texas women's golf team. Let's go out and get the big 12 and let's win the national title. Yes, that's definitely a goal for sure. This. Here We are in 2020. We will have a chance to win our programs for Big 12 championship in a row. I think we're looking forward to trying to do that. And 2021 as well, Um, give the answer to blaze a good run at it. This here, um Especially after um kind of a heartbreaking loss in 2019. And I think with some hard work and being patient the whole season, I think we can give ourselves a good chance as low amateur. You got the silver medal from the U. S. G A. Have you taken off the silver medal in a week? Oh, yes. Um, I warned the metal. The whole car ride home, made a stop at Bucky's and still have the medal on. Yes, I eventually take it off that night. Where you going To keep it in your your parents house? We're gonna keep it. It's not my parents right now. And the box, right? Caitlyn, did you get a chance to say hello to Jackie Burke? Down there? It took champions. Was he out watching a little bit? Yes. Yes, I did. I got to shake his hand. Him and Robin were at the golf course most of the week and they came out and watch the Award ceremonies when they had, um, a champion Champagne toasts in the clubhouse afterwards, So it was cool to get to meet and talk with Mr Burke. That's something you'll never forget. That's a real memory and you need to cherish that. Yeah, I think it was a great man in Jackie John Paul, A Bear's godfather. I think there's there's a big family connection because John Paul's dad was the best man for Jackie in the wedding to Robin. So there's there's a lot of connections there with Longhorn program. "When Tiger was having you know, having a boy having Sam and you just go on down the list Matt Kuchar when he was low amateur at the Masters, and now he's got a son playing with him in this tournament. It really it really is something in it. If you don't think golf is not a game for the lifetime. It is a game for the lifetime, because and this is a bonding, You know you and I both played golf with our dads when we were little kids, and you played with my sons and playing golf, and I play regularly with my kids or something special playing with your kids, But this is sort of a relaxing time. But it will not be relaxing tomorrow for team culture and teams Sing and Tiger and Little Charlie and John Daly and Little John. They're all be there got in when they were interviewing Tiger after the round. Tiger said. Well, uh, Charlie's over there hitting balls. He'd already gone to the driving range to hit balls. And I think it was interesting that Tiger's regular tour catty Joe LaCava, Joe Lacob, his son is catting for Charlie would so I thought that was kind of neat. They had the duel of Father and son catties, too. Well, while we're talking father and somewhere where did your dad take you? When you played your first round of golf with him? First round of golf was a brown Would country club the only golf course and brown? What I was probably six or seven years old. And played nine holes with him, and he would go out on either Saturday or Sunday afternoon. It too, and meet his group. And I would always tag along to be the caddy and they would let me let me hit shots but played a lot of golf with my dad. I got the witness. Ah, Hola, one by my father. When he was 65 years old. He would come some of my high school tournaments tow. Watch me play, but we had a wonderful time on the golf course because he was He was a real gentleman on the golf course. And he taught me well. He taught me well, well, he did, And we've had a lot of fun. You and I together plan playing golf, and I had my first round of golf with my dad. Had to see Boz in Fort Worth a public course that sadly, is no longer there. Hate that. I hate that when you read these old courses or not, they're speaking, of course, is I got to play San Antonio Country Club yesterday and Joe the pro over there is fantastic golf course. I've never played the golf course I know you have Scotty, but it is a classic old golf course that's very, very It's just old, and it's cool because the golf course is pretty straightforward. The greens were magnificent, some of the fastest greens I've ever played, and it was sort of like playing and Donald Ross course, because if you if you don't hit it on the green, they'll roll off the sides of the green with the San Antonio Country Club was a wonderful experience in a real Real nice atmosphere, and the first hole on the golf course is a par three. You walk out of the pro shop and you tee it up and you had about a six iron and your again you're off to the races. You know, it's funny the way that course is landlocked over there in Alamo Heights. It reminds you a little bit of Dallas Country Club does as well because it's a tight it's a tight rounding not. It's an easy course to walk on, but it's a but it's a good little golf course. It's fun to play every single day. Yeah, I don't think with with all kills Country club, I guess those are the really the golfers golf courses. Oh, kill the telling house, but Was still telling House did some work over there San Antonio Country Club, too, So he has left his mark in San Antonio, also with Brackenridge Park. "This. This is alison chains with so far under took all right. So here's an example of Of the difficult task of making it work. We know there's been a lot of them. Throughout the years bruce dickinson. Brian johnson blah blah blah but allison changes. Kind of an interesting one because They they did all the right things to make this work and they had some things put in place to make it work number one. Their lead singer died. So there's no there's no choice if you're going to carry on it's not like there was a big falling out in a spat and he was fired or he quit or whatever it it's essentially we He died if we're going to carry on at all. We need new lead singer number two. They waited a long long long time To put this thing back together. I thought that was kind of cool. And they also even waited a long time for lane when he was still alive and and tried to try to fix things and make it work and help lane Number two they got this guy. In william duvall who had a great track record of his own with with comes with the fall Really talented guy great voice. He's in there a helping with the writing and he's also a guitarist So this is kind of cool The other reason it works is that Is that jerry. Cantrell also is a lead singer of the band and he also even was a singer back then somewhat and he had those great solo albums so jerry and and he's the guitarist and he's the writer and he's the leader of the band so that so that's fine so the lead singer not leads the leader this band. Also that's that's another important thing to say. Oh so and and then the ban stable of the with with the rest of the guys as well but the thing is is a live situation. You got these two guys sharing lead vocals as they do on the albums and they also both play guitar. William divall is a quote unquote the rhythm. Guitar straight So that's amazing that that all works well and the other thing that's great about this is unlike yes. They've they've already You know cranked out three studio albums. Solid really cool albums. Black gives way to blue. Two thousand nine devil put dinosaurs here two thousand thirteen and rainier fog two thousand eighteen So that's cool They've established a track record. They they don't have to lead singers across those albums. Except for jerry. And and william. But i mean you know. They didn't switch anybody so it's been stable. So here's all the different ways that you can make this difficult task Work so singer equals band I still believe singer equals band. But you can you can. If you're if you're forced out of this situation you obviously can make it work. Wow so there you go. So there's there's your five examples of this one. If you liked this show and want to support me continuing on doing this and future episodes you can go to kofi rhymes with no fee. Dot com slash. Martin popoff hit that red support. "Okay. So Frank Zappa. Here. I'm a massive Zappa Fan again, a huge desert island banned You know one of those where you could just take that massive catalog, go to the desert island and you'd be entertained for a long long time but. Totally do not I find his sixty stuff just grading on the ears and ridiculous and Ludicrous I. Don't find the comedy. Funny at all the productions are bad I don't like this idea that he You know he's he's parodying or or basically celebrating parodying slash. The stuff he grew up with the sixty the early sixties in the fifties music I hate here in any of that stuff So so I really don't like. Any of that ZAPPA stuff leading up to about nineteen seventy-three where it starts to get a little bit commercial and then later on, you know I'm I'm not I'm not a fan of well even even marbled throughout I'm not a fan of the of the long instrumental passages in the fusion music And the and the soloing lots and lots of soloing, and then later on in life, I'm not a I'm not a fan that there are these shut up and play your guitar albums or the classical work So yes. So me and Frank Zappa basically again, give me the hits. Give me disco boy You know give me give me essentially Joe's garage one way over Joe's garage to except for watermelon in Easter Hay But but you know I I love the succinctness of that album and I think I think it just gets. It just unravels on two and three as it's called right But but no my favorite. Frank. ZAPPA albums of all time are what I picked this song off of and if you notice I mean I picked basically the first thirty seconds of the Song I noticed that a lot of these songs on this album. You know talk about commercial they get going immediately the verse starts and Frank Singing Away, I love Frank's voice right I wanna hear him saying I, love his lyrics, i. WanNa. Hear him I want to hear his views I want to hear him saying You know want here little a his guitar his guitar always struck me as a parody of Guitar Solo any Solos he's a little bit like when you hear Guitar Solo from a J masks from dinosaur junior, it's just so loudon and obnoxious and francs a little bit like that. It's almost like he's making fun of the idea of shredders. Steve Fire whatever who wasn't his band of course. But but no. So so with Frank basically I come on board superstrong with Joe's garage and shake your booty and I love you are what you is. Ventura's to me is a little bit patchy. I'm not a big. Fan What's the other one? Tinseltown rebellion up and down for me he's confuses me when he starts mixing in live material with studio material I don't know what's going on. I'm not deep enough fan to realize even when something might be an older song, because will actually put in little parts of stuff and then he's got that. While before we get there but so you are what you is is totally my favorite his because basically it's double album. If packed full of short songs, you know the comedy is there Gimme frank making comedy give me give me frank making cheap jokes and in fact, that's strictly commercial is I mean that CD it's it's literally it's called that to be provocative about being commercial in strictly commercial, but it's it's all a frank getting cheap laugh right now when I say I like I want strictly commercial from Frank Zappa it's not necessarily give me comedy It it's literally give me the short songs with vocals and lyrics and choruses. You. Know and production and a little bit of heaviness and a little bit a little bit of. Creativity you know I'm not I'm not crazy again because Lino later on through the catalog, he will always kind of celebrate that old sixties girl group or the Crooner's or the fifties music. There's a bit of that always along the way or the Blues I don't want to hear any of that I just WanNa. Hear a new puppy. Rockin Song, from frank that's that's what I like. So moving on from, you are what you is I was I was perfectly a fan of ship arriving too late to save a drowning witch and man from Utopia, but the songs on it. So so again, you know once it got too long and too weird and two instrumental, not a Fan Love that whole crazy messy ragged, Chad Wasserman drum sound too and another great one to go play by frank if you are in any sort of agreement with me, a lot of people forget about is Broadway. The hard way you know that that album I play all the time and and what it is, it's It's a little bit like Ted, nugent intensities in ten cities where it's where it's alive album of songs that are not on the studio. Albums I think all all completely I mean I don't know there might be there might be themes or pastiches or whatever. But but essentially pretty sure all of it or most of it is is stuff that is not on any studio album and it's it's comedic. It's fast. It's hard hitting. There's a lot of neat dialogue back and forth it's a little bit dated with all of it being about Michael Jackson and Ronald Reagan and Pat Robertson but. Other, other than that. It's actually pretty You know it's it's a really good accessible live album and and you know I am not a live album fan of Frank Zappa? That's for sure. So. Yeah I again, the here's another way being commercial give me the studio albums. That's what I want. I just I just want everything all laid out and planned when it comes to frank I, guess So there you go let's wrap it up there. Those are five different examples of that or have a similarity to them of just loving the commercial stuff If you like this show and want to support future episodes, please go to Kofi rhymes with no fee dot com. So it's a co- dash fi dot com slash Martin popoff hit the red support button by me a coffee or a pint. It's Kinda. Cool. You know there's just take me a lot of time to put together, but I'm roughly wobbly making an hourly wage. Because of your find support and on that front, I would like to thank this time Bruce Campbell is always always around Thank you very much. Bruce. You're you're you're my main regular contributor I I definitely appreciate the support as well Guston Garcia de paradees. Jeremy French Joe, Beck Kevin, Latham black sugar transmission, not sure who you are but thank you and Colston Veer. So yeah, very cool and I and I see you guys commenting all the time on the on the on the facebook page as well. Giving me suggestions. So yes, very helpful. Thanks again for that and Yeah Martin Popoff Dot Com for all your book needs right now, we've got the three maidens we've got coming coming in actually soon. "Every Wednesday. And if you love the cardinals you love hearing about the stars of tomorrow the one source to go to his Brian Walton of the Cardinal Nation Dot Com Brian. I want to say good morning to you. Happy Wednesday and hopefully you're in good health and things are going well for you. You have gone ahead down now working on new cardinals. Minor League content that we're going to deliver every day as long as this goes on until we get to the real thing. Yeah doesn't stop for you. Does it no baseball guy all the time? And you know it's it's good for me therapeutically to keep writing and keep working at. Frankly there's been a lot of work that I've I've got. You know spreadsheets and data about the history of the cardinals minor league system. But I've had for a long time but I've never had a time to really take the time to go down and sit down and write about it because you know we have. We are structured such that you know as soon as the offseason scars we start on the prospect worked for the next year and now with instructional camp and early January winter. Warm up and now everybody's in spring training in February. It's just time for a series of forty fifty articles. Which is what I'm planning at least on Breaking down the history of the cardinals. Minor League system I kind of at the system level and then by individual level then looking at the top players in history at each of the levels and the top players by statistical category so the top homerun hitters and the top your a pictures and all of that so going to do all this and hopefully that'll titus over and talent the Geoghegan Training Inskip. Yeah absolutely One of the things that got brought up this last week was compensation for Minor League players. At least through what would have been their spring training. Maybe you can get into that and explain what that means for those minor-league players yeah normally Players of course players Marley players are paid a salary and tell their seasons begin. So you know for the full season players basically April until the beginning of September. So they're not all they received during spring training normally as small per. I think it's about twenty twenty five dollars a day. What Major League. Baseball decided they would do is across the board all players would receive a stipend of four hundred dollars per week. And that is decided at least until April ninth. When the original opening day for the minor league season was designed to help the players get through this period. Where OF UNCERTAINTY? What's going to happen? In April night is yet unclear in the thing I find interesting about that is normally in a normal year for example. What would happen on April night? Shortly before one hundred players would leave minor league camp and they would hit the Memphis in Springfield Palm Beach in Peoria will be replaced by another group of huge group of players. Those same number who come in for extended spring training camp and those are the players that are competing would-be convenient for jobs at stake college. Gulf coast when those in but they're also ready reserve so that when there's injuries if there's an injury in the system peoria or palm beach or wherever then they can draw these players from extended spring training who are in shape and playing shape and ready to go and they dropped into these leaks usually into peoria and then there's kind of a domino effect. So what's going to happen with these players that normally would come in to extended spring training on you the beginning of April while you're not gonNA come in And they're not gonNA get paid either. So you know this whole question of you know. Paying paying the minor leaguers it could increase substantially in terms of number of players. That are going to be involved in this next round assuming that baseball continues to do something to try to help the players through this time when there whether or not receiving any compensation so we're hearing so much about the various levels in so many players and it leads me into the George Kissel award winner and number. One tell folks what the George Kissel award is number two The gentleman that wanted this year he has been. Let's see there's no other way to put it? He's been as busy as anybody in the game of baseball. Probably the initiated the George Kissel award to And it was done back in the in the mid nineties and the idea was a peer recognition across the entire player development function. So you know. It's a managers. The coaches strength conditioning You know anybody who's involved in player development votes on this basically and they select the peer that they think most reflects the the Credo of George. Kissel the the focus on fundamental the caring for others in the organization Excellent Teaching And really just personal example and you know George Kissel of course is one of the one of the people that you think of when you think of the tradition of the cardinals both at the minor league at Myrlie into Major League as well so The George Award is given out every year that the cardinals have an orientation meeting the first day of Minor League spring training camp and so in one of the things that they could go through Really all the recognition from the previous year so all the players that were all stars near leagues who were players of the week players at a month. All those guys are recognized but then they also announced the George Kissel Award and the winner for Twenty nineteen that they announce here just a few weeks ago. Is Tony Ferrara? And Tony's guy he's one of these glue guys that you know nobody really knows about. But he's basically the right hand man to farm director Gary Iraq and he is responsibility for the movement of players and coaches everywhere. All the time. And it's it's but it's much more than just a travel agent and if you just think about the fact that he's responsible for I don't know two hundred forty two hundred fifty players and another eighty staff people and he has to make sure that everybody's where they need to be and the most ironic thing about this and so he's kind of job that when things go well you take it for granted and when things get screwed up you know you get yo. It's obvious right away. But he doesn't ever screw up and he's just loved across the Organization for what he does for. So many people about Gary told story Becker in winter. Warm up about a player who is trying to get off from instructional camp and got stuck in Chicago and and Tony Manage to get him a flight out of the airport but got into the other. Airport made sure yet translation and then got him home in time but the funny thing about not funny but ironic thing about this literally. The day that the cardinals had orientation meeting was also today that it was decided that they're going to have to shutdown camp. So Tony got to joy must have got to joys award for about ten minutes and then he ran off to start working plans to send one hundred seventy five guys home immediately because of the closing camp because of the virus conserve. I can't imagine what he went through. It's just amazing and it's just so ironic that you know right. When he was recognized immediately Joe Beck into fire drill mode about something that nobody really expected that you know that the players who really has gotten there now have to turn around and go home. There are cuts. That were made by the cardinals. Austin Dean Justin Williams at Mondo said Jake Woodford if this was quote unquote a normal season. How do you think those guys fit into the plans both in the minor leagues and potentially eventually in the Major League Baseball? Well guys that are going to be in crippling Memphis man. I had no so so we thought maybe coming into camp would have a chance to compete for a job and as a reserve infielder. 'cause he's a very short stop. But when Brad Miller was brought in you know it kind of looked like both he and Jeremiah's who of course has left organization you know it's Sorta looked like those guys were you know can be the odd man out now. You never know what. Injuries and whatever Jake Woodford circle back to being in the AAA MEMPHIS. Rotation Awesome Dean played very well and camp. I mean he's not. He's not a goal governor outfield but he was confident in the outfield. And he's still you know he showed he can swing the bat but you know all along it was assumed at Austin team would be fifty five guy. Sorta be that you know that outfielder and reserve and so they decided to go ahead and make these moves Interesting all these moves were guys who on the forty nine roster so they were optioned officially optioned out to the minor leagues and that has an effect on the compensation they receive now. Granted baseball. Hasn't figured out what? The Compensation Be Formation Lakers during this time period but in this case now they'll be considered minor leaguers. You Know Minor League forty nine players rather than major league forty minute players so in camps do resume that they'll report to minor league camp with with all the rest of the guys in the now. We did know that. The cardinals made an announcement with Dylan. Carlson being their minor league player of the Year on Hal Rondo and being the Minor League pitcher of the year but during that orientation that you spoke of earlier those two were to receive their awards and be recognized. But you know we know about Dylan. Carlson he's a hell of a player. But what about On how Ron don't. And maybe his rapid rise this system don't might have been. The most unsung player could mcardle system in twenty nineteenth. He's a guy that when we did our prospect ranking a year ago. He didn't even make our tops fifty. I identified him as my as my deep sleeper. Pick up your young again. Constant always young for his levels but hadn't ever been in one place long enough to to show his success and so what happened was he got shot. I at Palm Beach Really Tore Up Palm Beach and then moved up to Springfield and continue to pitch. Well such that on Hill Ron. John was the era leader in the Texas League last season. And that sort of you know. That's a pretty impressive result for a guy who didn't even start the season at that level and for that accomplishment. He moved all the way up to number eight on our on our prospect list in Harare don't just turned twenty two years old Right before Christmas so you know very young guy right hander and logged his era at Springfield last year. We saw three point two one and well doesn't sound an impressive when you think about the Texas League and that's a hitter friendly league small ballparks and but he was basically the best starter league at age. Twenty one years old in terms of if or when the season resumes What do you think happens with a minor league season as compared to what may be happens with a major league season? I understand. That's a tough question to answer? But what are you hearing from people that that cover the minor leagues his two for a as far as how their season may unfold. Well you know it's really interesting question and I'm going to start at the end kind of worked my way back. Let's take the scenario that some people have talked about for the major leaguers that the major league scheduled might continue through the month of October in the postseason is moved to November. A reasonable scenario. Right I mean the other some weather issues all but she has to say. Let's just take an assumption? Well now couple that with the fact that rosters are only going to be twenty eight players for the last month..

"Goldman and Joe Beck Adam Goldman's on everyone of these stories. July eighth two thousand seventeen. Remember Remember the media here is trying to tell you not of the story but a story so on July eighth of two thousand seventeen. Somebody leaks to spy gate plotter. Adam Goldman. He's involved in all of this skull and he gets all the scoops right. Somebody leaks to Goldman. Hey Don Jr. remember this is two thousand seventeen. The trump tower meeting is in two thousand sixteen a year earlier. Somebody leaks to them at the New York Times. Hey Don Jr. met with Kremlin link attorneys. The story runs on July eighth. What are they trying to get out ahead of? Somebody must get wind. Who's leaking this story to the New York Times that there's a plan in place to interview the actual participants follow me Referee Joe. I need you Paul. I need you right now to hanging with you. Somebody gets wind that they're planning to interview the FBI the participants in that meeting and the people who get wind of it whether it's Intel community at the top unsafe community that Brennan the Brennan nuts at the top. Somebody gets wind of that and they know because the meetings happened a year ago. Because I'm telling you. The meetings of setup remember the Russians participating in the trump tower meeting in two thousand sixteen June of two thousand sixteen. We Don Jr. are connected to fusion. Gps and Hillary Clinton the meetings the setup man to foster the Russian collusion. Have absolutely sure of it. You listen to the rogue show if you think otherwise. It's a setup who did the setup. That's a story for another show but it was. Let's just leave it at the spy. Gate plotters and people involved with this international Intel Cabal working to take down trump. Okay but the people involved in the setup no nothing happens in the meeting because nothing does happen in the meeting because Don Jr. and Paul manafort right away realize this thing is nonsense. They're on their phones. And they're sending each other basically texts. Get us out of this stupid meeting. Nothing happens but that's the story. The liberal media wants you to know as we can see from the headline from the New York Times on July eighth leaks. That Don Jr. met with Kremlin guy so here. We go the media narrative starts. Why did it start? Because what are they getting in front of what happens just four days later well now that we have the FBI? Three O? Two's of the notes of the interviews. They conducted just four days later. They interviewed a translator at the meeting. A guy by the name of forgive me from saying they mom so macho north. I probably really screwed that up. But that's okay you get the point. Four days later they interview. These are from undercover. Huber's twitter feed. Look at some of the notes Caesar some of his highlights as well so the interview the translator at the meeting the liberals us this is all about collusion these Russian show up to collude with DON Jr. Look at the date show interview was seven twelve. Twenty seventeen wow four days after the New York Times Story. Oh boy on a totally so much. North data birth redacted telephone number redacted was at his residence located here. And if you buy special agent after being advised that the identity interviewing agency in the nature of the interview so Macho ornoff provided the following information so much more say Joe. Clearly the translator at this meeting with Don Jr. clearly because we've been hearing forever now from Liberal Lunatics Jason Johnson David from member. I debated these nuts at politic on where they lost their minds because they had no basic grasp the case they've been telling US forever. This meeting this was it. Joe This is where the collusion started. No surely Samachar. Who is the translator at that meeting? This guy definitely told the FBI. There was a bunch of collusion. Hillary Clinton stuff going on. Because we've been told this from the media Adam. Goldman was Tina subjects. Four days before this interview somebody leaked it to get out of this man. Well what Buddy? So much she's. Am say well. Let's see let's go to take away number two clearly. There's evidence of collusion here. We've only been told this forever. So our buddy matured off said his name. Two hundred now could not speak for other occasions but said there was wait. No discussion about the twenty sixteen United States Presidential Election Paula. My reading this. You have better eyesight to me. Actually you don't but you're closer to screen. There was no discussion of the election. Joe This is this can't be or collusion either. What's going on between the Russian government? That trump campaigned come on guys. This can't possibly be only. We've only been told for three years. That the trump tower meeting where it all went down the cookies cookie jar late. Don Junior was looking for dirt on Hillary. You've been told that right Motley. Yeah that's at least the east coast serve a minimum. Can't bet you may have to queue up a triple. They may keep the monthly keeper. Butler Butler a little bit. Like I liked how you keep it back a little bit I liked. I liked that I liked that. On your part you keep it in the in the bullpen. Bring into right so this guy. Some Chernoff says there was no discussion at that meeting about collusion or the election. Wow that's kinda strange. It gets better. Let's go to take away number two from the FBI's notes there no On their interview. this is crazy time. Here this is. There was no smoking gun. According to some mature enough there was not a discussion about dirt. On Hillary. Some mature enough did not think Hillary Clinton was mentioned by name at the meeting. Some mature enough had not heard vessel guy say anything about having dirt on Hillary vessel sky. Didn't offer any materials during the meeting and no papers were exchanged. Additionally there was no follow up to the meeting that saw mature of knows about Mike. Flynn part to JEEZ LOUISE HOLY COW folks the media coverage on this has been tremendously right. Yeah three all right. You've seen the headlines You've seen them in the majority. Oh you've seen but you might as you push the media montage breaking don trump. Junior meeting had nothing to do. With Hillary Clinton the Russians are collusion. You've seen those headlines. Right and Tower. You see them. There might idea go play. They were very good awesome. The Creek is very good. There's the media headline you've heard all of this right. I can't if you're not watching the show or covering those excellent reports on twitter. You've missed all of this now before I get to even more mature enough. Said which is even more devastating. And what astonishingly? Muller did afterwards. You may be asking a question right now. You may be saying you suggest you may not be but I'm GONNA question myself on your behalf. You may say. This is a little contradictory. You're suggesting the June twenty sixteen meeting with Donald Trump junior and manafort at trump tower with these Russians was the setup but if it was a setup why did these Russians connected to Hillary and fusion. Gps that team. Why did they not say anything about Hillary? You get with this in other words if you're trying to set the trump team up by pushing these Russians to meet with Don Jr. Because you know later you're going to say look they colluded with these Russians. Then they would have to mention something about Hillary to further the narrative. Why would they not mention anything? Good question I have the answer for you and I'm I'm sure of it Because folks they didn't have anything on Hillary they weren't there to give fake information on Hillary and if they gave the trump team fake information on hillary that was later discovered to be fake because they didn't have anything they were there to set up trump. They would figure it out. This was the scam. So what are they the whole purpose you went began? Joe Referee happily in the only purpose for them was to just show up. Yeah that's it. All they needed for the media story as you saw from Adam Goldman's headline spy gate co-conspirator media alleged media guy. All they needed was the meeting. Look they met with Kremlin people. Oh my gosh everybody else. Filling up by there was no information to be transmitted. They're not gonNA give 'em fake information on Hillary. Discover right away. This whole thing's a setup and BS. So what do they show up and they start talking about adoption? The meeting was the evidence. What was exchanged at? The meeting was irrelevant. Because as you'll see in a minute the Muller team knows what was exchanged at the meeting was nonsense and ignored it anyways. The optics the optic estimating happen. Yeah Soundbites thank you not just in political campaigns but in targeting and spying campaigns to all they needed was the picture of them going in there or the sound bite. The Hey Kremlin link. Lawyer met with trump shooter. That's all they had so much off here for different way. I've said his name. He said more. This is the most damning part of this whole thing. Some short was this is the FBI's own notes was not particularly fond of DONALD TRUMP. Junior but stated don trump junior's account to the meeting with Veselnitskaya as portrayed in recent media reports was accurate. Some Chernoff concurred with Donald trump junior accounted meeting. He added they were telling the truth. So mature enough told the interviewing agents that he would have contacted the FBI thought. The meeting was nefarious folks. Listen we mess around on the show a lot. Okay I get it. I try to add some kind of you know because I don't want to overwhelm you with the pressing media all the time. That's incredible that is absolutely incredible. A State Department. I haven't even gone into the background. So mature enough. I haven't even gotten it because really the show would be five hours long long short of the translate. He may be saying well. Maybe he's quietly friend to Republicans and that's why he's telling me. Fbi nothin happened at the meeting. Ladies Gentlemen he was the State Department translator during the Hillary Clinton era he's acknowledging to the FBI on the records. He doesn't even like down trump junior. He's there at the meeting translate. Nobody has a better account of what's happening at the meeting than him. He is literally the mental machine translating the language back and forth. He's telling me FBI. Don Trump junior is telling the truth. Nothing happened at the meeting quote. There is no smoking gun. He doesn't Remember Hillary's name brought up. They didn't talk about collusion or even the election. Where's the media coverage on this and you still think you're being told the truth by the PROB? The like Adam Goldman New.

"At the age of sixty. We celebrate his life. And we bring you back to a conversation. That ahead with Joe Beck and Tober of twenty sixteen. I think all of us know, somebody in the restaurant business, or at least who tried to do it. And it's not an easy task. It's a of work, and it's very hard to make restaurant last much less make it chain lasts for almost a quarter of a century. But Joe Bartolotta was able to do that what are the keys to that? What's the key to longevity? I think the Keita longevity. I can't tell you because then I would get rid of my secret sauce. No, the the key longevity is I think a lack of turnover keeping the ion the ball hiring. Really good people. Invest in them, pay them. Well, and let them have the voice in your business because I think that's really important validate their existence, but them help you become successful. They know a whole lot more about what's happening in my restaurants, in many cases that I do. So I'm silly to sit up on up in the score box. You know and try to make the calls when they're what's really happening on the field. They know more than I do the how do you learn something like that without having gone to college or business school making mistakes and learn from those mistakes. You know, a lot of it comes from the heart. And I think there's a Sicilian property the fish things from the head. And what that means is that the leader of of anything creates, you know, the environment or the movement that you're trying to do and trying to be humble here. I think I believe in treating people well and treating people fairly, and you know, being good to the community and being good. I think karma's a really important thing and it spreads. And it's been a great form of for us. I think you know, when you have people who've been in your company who have your same belief system, you become extremely powerful. And if everybody's moving in the same direction at the same time, you know, you've got something that's really special where everybody watches these cable food shows now that we all think of ourselves as smarter dinas, and we no doubt with expectations. How's that changed your business? No food networks in all these competitions. And you can watch food shows twenty four seven does that change how you serve people? Well, it it it definitely changes. It makes the landscape a little bit more difficult years ago. There wasn't the social media aspect of what's going on. There wasn't TV food network in part that's helped the evolution of the kids coming into our industry. They see these superstar chefs, and they want to be as shop that doesn't always come to fruition. But it does set the table nicely for for a kid who has those aspirants. It has made the consumer much wiser and has made the consumer more of a savvy consumer I've had people tell me that I'm making something wrong, and they make it better. And I'm okay with that. It's just constructive feedback. I don't have all the answers. You know, what I've learned about? Even a recipe is that it's all in the eyes of the holder. Her and somebody's interpretation of something. So yeah, I mean, they the consumer has gotten more educated more difficult. The social media stuff is something that is going to be a part of our lives forever. Now, there are haters out there, and who say's some unflattering things about us. And I I deal with it. But just not dealing with it. I read those because it's one person's opinion, he may have an agenda. I don't know or she may have an agenda. But you know, how they how they choose event anonymously or it can be very destructive and to a business. Have you ever had occasion where you've had some soya somebody chill you to the point. Sure how you handle it. They just got to play through you got to sort of minimize it. And not give them a voice. You just gotta sorta not part of what they want is. I think is attention. You know, they want to engage in a dialogue back and forth. I gene is funny. I've actually fired customers we've had we've. Had people in our in our restaurants who have treated our employees disrespect. They've either useful language or are they laid hands on them. Or they've said things are highly inappropriate. And I've had to ask guests not to come back and never an easy thing. But recently, I had a gentleman who who simply every time came in. He was so demanding to the point of only having one server take care of them. And no matter what that other server is doing that person had to have him take care of them. The server didn't wanna take care of him. But that's the only so it got to the point where it became very difficult. And I finally went up two minutes. You know, we've tried really hard to make you happy. We obviously have failed. So please don't give us the opportunity to ever disappoint you again. That's a beautiful way to put all he he was the funnel. He looked at me. And said you asked me to come back, basically. That's what I'm saying. We tried. We can't. Make you happy. So don't put yourself through this anymore. Find a different place on the other hand though. I guess there are people to maybe challenge you make you better in the process. No doubt. No, no. I need to be challenged. If we're not doing something. Right. We want to know about it. And most of the time, you know, we only get better by getting that type of feedback. Absolutely. So I think I think your your your fully yourself. If you don't listen to what your.

"He actually has absolutely no agenda. He has no plan. No platform other than the president is a racist. He's a white supremacist. We have to get him out. Are there people on college campuses that you encounter who actually believe the president said white supremacist and Neo Nazis people? Let me add to the proper context, which is the president clearly was saying there are people on both sides of the issue. Whether it's hair down, Robert E Lee's statue. And whether it's hair down these historic confederate statues. Very fine. People say leave them people say take them down. He wasn't talking about antifarmer bielema left. He wasn't talking about white supremacist and Neo Nazis on the right? So do people really believe that he's a white supremacist on campus? I think they're going off of what they've heard from class and what they're hearing on social media. And there's absolutely a pressure to call the president that there's definitely a press to go along with that. And when you hear the same thing over and over, and you don't do your own research about the president being white supremacist. You're going to go along with it because it is cool to say. So I think Joe Biden was trying to tap into that. And he's expecting no one to challenge him on those claims and all those accusations. And you're right. There is a good point there when it comes to your campaign announcement should be here's one four. Here's my platform. Here's what I'm going to do. And by president Biden's entire Nelson was all about things have happened in the past and fry in many ways to distort them. And there was nothing about what he's for what he's bringing to the table. And so hopefully voters will be we'll see through that. And they'll actually want to elect someone that has the issues, but the they announced the video had was completely lacking any sort of substance. He stole that one line from Obama. That's not who we are covered. That's just not who we are. I love how these these these candidates can tell us who we are. And if we think there was something else we have to stop because he says, we are it's all very odd. So it again just sort of along the same lines. Do you think that what he did yesterday resonates with young voters or they're looking at the young hip people? I think they're still I do think that the way they feel many of the democrat voters. I've spoken to want someone to be as far away from Trump as possible, and they want someone that's going to tear up the system we have a lot of young voters on the left. You Joe Biden as the establishment kind of a last generation of Democrats. I think they're going to end up going in droves to these younger candidates or to at least Bernie Sanders. "It was this. This was Mohammed Ali versus Joe Frazier. Now, I'll agree with you. That today was the was the perfect match up. It was better than tiger. And Phil at the, you know in Las Vegas. Okay. But I'll all I was saying was the announcement that Arnold Palmer's coming to the legends. And you had all these great champions, Jimmy demerit. Sam snead. You you go on and Gene Sarazen. I mean, you had all these major championship. It was before the legends of golf. Yeah. Was you know, bless his heart Kirk Triplett and Paul Broadhurst and Steph, I mean, it was you had to win a major to be in the legends of golf. So that was huge. Well, let me say Christopher wrong. I think it's more like this is Mohammed levers George Foreman, two different generations. But to all time greats any know what all time great came out on top, which is what happened today. Yeah. Tiger woods. Mohammad-ali? Roy macaroni George Foreman Allegri with you today. That today was the biggest one day event in history. That's because we had an official tournament here. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. The top sixty four if they had this tournament, you know in the sixty seventies eighties. It would probably be back then the greatest time in Austin gov about how ironic today that tiger defeated Rory in the first match of the morning and then this afternoon, look beer, gar defeats tiger wood and Lucas beer Gars walking into Mahdi's are whatever match out Rancho or pokey Joe's tonight, and nobody is I might see him on west sixth street tonight. And I will be one of ten people to recognize him. Let me say if he's on west sixth street. He's in trouble, democra-, caller, buddies. He shouldn't be. But but what a story this. When we come back. I wanna talk more about what happened with the Sergio Garcia Matt Kuchar matches afternoon. And we all all four of us are big fans of Sergio. He lives in town. We're fans of Marty Akins and daughter Angela and Sergio. It was very very controversial. What happened today, and it deals with the rules of golf it deals with what happens in match play any ethics golf honest in the end the ethics bid. But it was a terrible situation for Sergio Garcia that. I think has lingered on with amber because we saw Sergio walked back just a moment ago. And I think they were still still discussing what happened on this controversial? But Kucher said he he thought we're talk about that but much much more. Matt Kuchar of Georgia Georgia Tech guy versus Lucas better gar of Denmark, an unbelievable story, Lucas bear is Ben climate says he's come all the way from I guess when he walked around here. Nobody knew who he was I think he could still walk around. And nobody knows who he could be accounting downtown. Here's a guy from Denmark who is now going to be the darling of Europe because he took down Tiger Woods earlier today menu. Or on the eighteenth hole about thirty minutes ago. Tell everybody what happened because Tiger Woods had been up in this match for much of the day. Brugare K back and on eighteen they were tied and give our listeners what happened on that? Well. They hit their drives in basically the same exact spot. I think tiger was about three feet behind beer guard. Tigers approach shot went straight into the trap via guard hit about fifteen feet past the hole. So beer guard. Missed his his birdie putt, right, which I got to say real quick. I thought it was a very disrespectful show by the American fans here as soon as he missed that. It was a bunch. Cheers. Who is and go Tigers, which I know this is where in America, this is Texas. But I thought that was very very disrespectful. Scotty, you've been around a lot of Ryder cups, Joe bekker's. Whether it's has been around a lot of Ryder cups. It's it's very competitive. Now this somewhat has a little bit of a Ryder Cup mentality. No question. It is the Ryder Cup like, and plus it's Tiger Woods. It's Tiger Woods. And and I think that you gotta to let it go for the crab because they wanted to see tiger on Sunday. And I don't think it was meant so much is being disrespectful. Lucas. But I think it, you know, but well, no doubt. There were no boos. It was just a very it was a roar of cheers as soon as he missed the putt, which I didn't like, but you know, it happens.

"Our sister station ninety eight one cake K FM. Place. Been kind enough to join us in studio for what we're about to do. And we said, you know, what on a Friday. It's great to do a little cross promotion. So far, it's been one way. But I'll take it. Cross promotion. Oh, I was saying like cross promotion between this show and the podcast. But I guess you are right. I mean, it's weird to have you on a top rated station. We're halfway there. Okay. I mean, I don't wanna I don't wanna punch runaway. Yeah. Superstardom? You'll be sorry when we're gone. We'll be all right. Okay. All right. So we thought why not do a little cross promotion here? We talk wrestling on the podcast. Let's do a little bit of wrestling here on the show. And we combine it with something that we like to do any time. We have a chance to do it. And that is to have a draft. This Sunday is the Royal rumble is being held at easily. The worst baseball stadium in the history of mankind. Mankind reference. I know he's being held at chase field. We already talked about the the Royal rumble. Burger that's going to be there, which looks delicious SOB a lot of fun thirty layers bright, and they add a new one each in and a half is not a really a minute and a half. It's kind of fake. A little bit more labor intensive is just like a bunch of me in coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese. Wedges possibly after you eat at thirty farts separated by minute and a half each right? Okay. That stuff may fly across the hall. This highbrow stuff here. Oh, he's. So we thought why not do a draft for the Royal rumble? So the way this will work is the three of us will pick some guys. And then you guys on the text line can at two eight six zero four six and JP has been kind enough to supply a hundred dollar gift card to drive in autosound. So even if you're may not be in the wrestling world, there's still a lot of guys that you probably know are in the WWE why not throw out one 'cause you could win never know. Never know. So not much not holding on. No, two eight six zero zero four six go ahead and throw your draft picks, and we will start with our draft picks since he is our guest, and tens wheels. And I have already fought over this. I thought why not? As a him. And I thank you. Okay. He is our guest. I'm the Bailey you called me the daily of this building. Absolutely everyone. Now, this is a draft as in when they're taking they're taking Rex. Yes. Okay. Okay. So and you can draft not on the list just names. Yes. So you have a list of confirm wheels. You we have the list of confirm. We're not going to run through them all, but you can make you can make reference to the fact that they are confirmed or not confirmed if you would like, okay. Well, I have a guitar with me right now, I'm going to put the microphone down. So you can hear this. And you know, how when it starts when this gentleman comes out it goes. The streto big are sensitive enough to pick that up. Lisa loeb. Stay anyway. You say Strom? So you think I'm picking Elias. But that is a ruse wheels. I never picking a life. I like allies. He's not gonna win dean Ambrose is gonna win. That's my pick. Nina ambrose. Oh, wow. You. That was like a weird way to go to I wanted to Br. I haven't autographed cheap trick Qatar that you can't see on the radio. Yeah. It's perfect. As you can't see it. You had to bring it in here. I'm working on some notes wheels. I am I always let you have the pick before me. And it always come back to always comes back to bite me. Why not do it? One more time. You had the second pick. I'm going with the odds on favourite. Bovin line and just amongst the wrestling world. Anyway. Seth Rollins Seth Rollins so far earned it down baby. So that was gonna be my pick. Because I'm like, well, I'm gonna go the two thirds of the shield that exist right now. So you've taken that. And I wasn't going to do this boy. But why not should we stand back? No. This is my strategic coming up here. Oh boy. I'm gonna take Roman reigns. I'm going to go off the board, and I'm gonna take Roman reigns. Comeback story comeback story at the Royal rumble. And then that way all three of us have a member of the shield. So I will go off the board. No one has confirmed that Roman reigns will be at the Royal rumble. But I am calling it that he will the only thing that's been confirmed that he's going to be in a movie with Iraq. Is it a like a buddy cop movie? No, it's like this is my uncle and this is my nephew. And we're cops spin off of fast and furious. Oh, it's the one with the rock and. Ball, dude? Insulting Nathan and saw he plays. He plays. The rocks. Brother, basically is what I believe it is the acting role of a lifetime. I fooled. Someone thinking on the rocks. Cousin wants, by the way lasted a long time. How is that possible? Why? Pasta Mediterranean, olive skins, close to Samoan half black skin to say you say. All right. So we got. Grady pitch drew McIntyre. Okay. That is one. And then we got one for we need your name, sir. Ricky Romero Ricky Romero he's in. He's in the rumble. I haven't heard that. What dirt sheets? Do you look at wheels? Dave meltzer. One of them. Yeah. Bruce Prichard, we did confirm that Ricky Romero is a legitimate wrestler that confirmed. We also. Botch. Please is more about nostalgia surrounding wrestling. I don't know who's in the Indies right now. Really? We'll give give it to you. We need a name to put next to Ricky Romero Paul who is our resident one of many listeners who also likes wrestling, but most vocal professional wrestling. He's going with wheels. And he's picking Seth Rollins. To win. So Paul you're in for that. If you wanna make a pick it can win you one hundred bucks to drive in autosound. I mean, no, it doesn't cost anything to play six zero right? Come on don't break. It. You want ratings like mine don't make sound effects like they don't eat it. That's good. All right. Who's up next? So it's back around to you. I'm going to go with. Know what the rock is cooking. All right. Now, how many rumors have you read that the rock is coming back for the? Pick the rock and do a bad. And I've read rumors that he might be in it. Listen rock and Brock rock and jock five hundred next month. It all goes together. Perfect rock and Brock rock and jock absolutely market case. Caso J has dean Ambrose and the rock. Now, do you wheels? I'm going with Colorado zone. Bobby lashley? Yeah. He has a title now. So that could hinder him. I wonder what the odds are of somebody who has an intercontinental title that's in the rumble in a way. It's not that it's really the whole mid card thing. And it's not really what it is anymore. But the idea that you already have title you have your own thing going in the rumble. Is you never know. Yeah. And he's really good at posing. He could lose the title and that poser as an insult, right? He has the best poses. Yes. He is a very good. Pose? On oppose off between Ryan wheels right now. Radio doesn't work. I will because my son will never my youngest son will never forgive me. If I don't pick him. Well, let me say this. I do I get insurance. If my guy is not if any of our guys are not in do we get to pick a safety. No, no, no, okay. The idea of going off book. On this list. That's fine. No, no, my son will be extremely disappointed if I don't pay his favorite wrestler, and that is John CENA. And the reason why I ask is because there rumors as not going to do it because he has ankle right ankle. Acl injury. There's also rumors that it's that that might be dot real because he's got a movie to fill. There's also rumors that you can't see him. You might be delayed laugh from Ryan. Wheels of say right now, another other radio doesn't work. Why are you on the text line? We got Fred in with Samoa. Joe beck. So we got that one. I don't think it's gonna happen. That's a good choice. It could happen. Ricky Romero was my favorite wrestler about fifty years ago as for a name, lent me self gloss grammar Nazi K grammar Nazi has Ricky Romero Romero is is alive. This is a this is a bit that I know it's not a bit. That's why I asked is Ricky Romero that's way off the board. Rick has John CENA. Rick will go with me and have John CENA again hundred bucks to drive in autosound doesn't hurt if you pick somebody like Ricky Romero who knows maybe you win. All right. Let's see. Let's let's break because we got to get in. We gotta pay the bills as they say shorter due to. I gotta tell you. All right. So two eight six zero four six if you wanna give us your Royal rumble picks will go one more time around and then wrap up the show for the week next on extra.

They're both hungry. The one whose left standing that is the one who keeps running keep signing past booted. But you know, I think listeners kind of let him who hath is here. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. So we're gonna keep it on on trend in the sense that everything we've talked about so far is in some way. You know related to the very first conversation. We had when we met up you've got a flashing you hands it out surprised to see it wasn't an iphone. So here's why this is interesting to me because my wife, and I literally in the market for new phones. The annoying thing is my wife, and I have never been in the market for the latest flagship device of any brand I'm used to own, you know, the top flagship of any sort of Android device or any iphone device anything. That's yet to be an experience I played with them, obviously. But I've never owned one. And I continue to be in my mind not in the market for one now. And so, you know, looking at the one you had in hand, I was like what do you reckon? And then you had some very interesting insights around what you're learning outside of the walled garden that you you quite happily resign yourself to as an IRA issues are and why they're pros and cons to both situations. Let's talk about that. Yes. Yes. So the the context was and not and I'm not trying to give any bad press. But that guy did me dirty. So you got the phone back though, come on gets out of that. At least the. Phones, a couple of hundred miles away. Man. I mean sitting in cry and I'm Joe Beck. And I'm going back to Nairobi tonight. So, but but it's fine. Yes, you're right. I did get the phone back and thanks to Ghana who who sorted me out. So so I'm trying to be fair, but you guys get a lot of flak from us. But you did something right here. And I look I dig Uber. I mean, I'm not I'm not gonna I'm not gonna knock them despite all the other stuff. So because they I mean, we just wrote not in the Nando newsletter a couple weeks ago, we did like a quick mopping out of all the uniquely African experiences. Uber does well it's too at the coast chapter which is like a one thousand seat car. Just and Robie. They have a certain kind of van service forget if it's like North Africa in in Cairo. So look you've got an van here as well. You can get a larger van, but it's not to be shared or anything this shit. Okay. So that's that's obviously a north African thing. Yeah. So they have all sorts of other. So so we were paying homage because we just said, you know, like respect your food gets thrown in the crazy way. Yeah. Well, stolen again. I'm not using that likely, but nonetheless, you got your phone back when you back in a crowd, you've got an iphone waiting. We're going to going to like fed exit or I wanted to end over anyway, so long as they showed. I mean, I Rubin have no phone..
