"We were just talking about, I saw Rogue One with my children over the weekend. I had seen it years ago, haven't seen it since I started watching and or on Disney+, which, by the way, you could see right here on the Roku platform. Dude, I told my kids, I'm like, this is maybe, I think this is the best Star Wars movie. Outside of the originals, empires still. Empire Strikes Back. Empire Strikes Back is number one. Rogue one is right, I think it's better than any of the sequels, even the prequels. I think it's because it's basically Star Wars book three and a half. It bridges, the trilogy prequels that came out after the originals prior to the trilogy sequels. I'm confused. So Star Wars the original Star Wars is episodes four, 5 and 6 in the storyline. Yes. Yes. Then as we all know, after the ewoks, spoiler alert, helped conquer that, then Star Wars took a long, long, hiatus. Then they come back with a trilogy of prequels leading up to episodes four, 5, and 6. That ended with the creation of Darth Vader, okay? Anakin. And then they come up with a trilogy of sequels that go after the ewoks and revenge of the Jedi 7 8 and 9. Seven's not bad. There are some good Adam drivers terrific. 7 has some good parts. Right. Rey is a terrific character. I do love, I do love the characters of the 7, 8, 9. But Rogue One is right before episode four. And the way they nail it right up to episode right update where they take you directly to the doorstep of the original film and the way they handle it blew my children's minds and then it sets up and or Diego Luna plays the character and or in Rogue One and they've created a new Disney+ series on him that is phenomenal. I don't know if you've seen it. Phenomenal. Is this a hot take where I say it's, I might have to give robots. It's one of the best Star Wars movies, period. I would put it above maybe even like the original. I'm serious, man. A lot of people have Rogue One higher on their list, a lot of Star Wars people, yeah. Friday. And I don't know if this is his controversial as me saying I will recline my scene on a plane. I saw the final results of our poll question. Two thirds of the people say it's terrible to recline your seat in a place. What's the button for? Those are the people who are lying. I mean, you talk about Rogue One, that's rogue. Rogue zebra. Two thirds of the people, you know, care about their fellow man. I'm sitting at the rich eyes and show desk furnished by Granger with supplies and solutions for every industry Granger is the right product for you. Call click ranger dot com or just stop by. You ranger. He made a decision yet at once. No, absolutely not. Look, the bears thought they were getting Mike mcglinchy. You thought Russell Wilson had a good night last night? He's a Denver. Wakes up this morning, gets a new guard. Now he gets to do tackle mcglinchy Broncos. Wow, that's right. Sean Payton, man. It's just that team is gonna be. We need to keep the Broncos country let's ride. I gotta be honest with you. I mean, it's a great place to live. It's a great place to play football and Sean Payton showing up. I think has a lot to do with, hey, you come here. Let's ride. And part of the part of the problem has just been all the holding penalties they have on that line. Okay. So, Denver. Big news. I like that move. And it's kind of a loss for San Francisco, but the niners did if I'm not mistaken shore up. Oh my God. They're defensive line. So the top defensive tackle on the market, eagles, lost another one, so javon hargrave, going to the niners. Four years, 84 million. How are you going to score on them? I mean, this is the deal. You just keep building up your line. That's why the eagles won the NFC period. This year, they won the NFC period. As Joe banner, who is our in studio guest last week, and if you missed it, great conversation. Check it out on our YouTube page and also the rich eisen show collection, page on our Roku channel partnership. He was saying, offensive long defensive line, that's it. And your quarterback. Keep hitting that and you're going to win conference championships, if not super bowls. So the forty-niners, that's a big move right there. Instead of onto the Broncos too. Ah. So the Broncos got to see what the Raiders had instead them to last year. All right. Love it. 5 million guaranteed and 4 million more in upside. So there's your backup. There's your backup to Russell, keep building that team. I told you one of my favorite storylines this off season is going to be what are the Sean Payton Broncos look like? Now maybe a flip one of those receivers for some draft choices. They need to get in the first two rounds of the draft. This is a really good draft. Deep. And playable. What else? Anything else? Let's see. The lines are signing cam Sutton. Okay. And then the giants just, oh, so the commanders are signing the giant center Nick Gates. Okay. Jeff and Detroit, let's take his phone call. How you been, Jeffrey? What's going on, fellas, and it's been wonderful here. Listen, I'm just like you, believe me, nobody wants Aaron Rodgers in adjust uniform more than that. Could you imagine a song NFC north with this man? It's like, yes, the ASC is that way, sir. Listen, I am really, really hoping that he really, really goes that way because I'll be the number one fan for him. And I'm going to tell you why it's possible. You think about this. With Aaron Rodgers, it's always about him and his competition. Stafford leaves gets a Super Bowl. Brady leaves gets a Super Bowl. And you best believe that he believes that he's better than those two. Two elements reason why that he would do that is that one, and it's NYC. If you get a Super Bowl in New York, it's worth two. It's honestly worth two. Could you imagine the headlines? I know I'm dreaming for you 'cause I'm sitting up here dreaming my dancing show. But could you imagine the headlines, if he goes there and went to Super Bowl, they're Brigham, his jacket to the Super Bowl ceremony. Well, here's the deal, Jeff. Here's the deal, Jeffers. I think he's out of your division no matter what. Honestly, and thanks to the call, Jeffrey, always great to hear you and your passion and your excitement. Always appreciate hearing from Jeff and Detroit. As things currently stand, right here, on the rich eisen show,

"In season tickets and conversations around bars and around clubs. By Daniel Jones, I want to hear from you. You don't exist. If you ask them today, not the same intensities you would have on the night, the Giants beat the Vikings on a super wild card weekend. Oh yeah, you saw exactly what they hoped out of Daniel Jones and did never gotten from Daniel Jones with the previous coachings, coaches and the previous front office people. Period, you saw and those four quarters, that guy. The eagles are just a better team. Yeah, it is. If you can build around and give them the same amount of 50? That is insanity. These teams running these organizations don't know what they're doing. There you go. You don't have to pay these guys this money. You don't. 8 four four two O four rich is numbered a doll. Also rich in a couple years. Let's just say two years at 40 million, when you get into the, I guess the payroll structure, I'm not a math guy, but isn't this going to look like probably a decent deal two years ago from now when you've got a bunch of guys making for if you said it's their time to get paid, right? You heard what Joe banner said yesterday, write that mahomes is ten year deal right now is incredibly team friendly that mahomes could have just done a 5 year deal and hit the open market again and killed it. And instead it's ten years, I mean, he said he's and that's what he's point to Lamar is like, you're young enough that you will make all the money under your contract. It may not be all guaranteed, but you're going to earn it, you're going to earn all of it if you stay healthy and don't, you know, have your career ended. All you got to do is just play and also with and you will collect. You will get it all. So what you're making a stand for isn't worth the franchise non exclusive tag and sitting out there year to year and everybody wondering if you're missing the end of the season because you're pissed or you're like, I'm not going to put it all on the line here for a team that's not giving me the contract that I think I deserve in the division where I just saw deshaun Watson with a ton of crap on his head that he's never been charged with. He's done nothing but live his life to the utmost of class. Lamar Jackson. You see kids in Baltimore. I've seen him around kids. Are you kidding me? And somebody else in the division is giving that much money guaranteed to deshaun Watson. I totally understand him saying, I deserve that. But Kyler Murray didn't do it and Russell Wilson didn't do it. His answer could be, then why should I do it? Screw you. Well, in the world of the NFL, he's kind of learning what that approach is getting him. And right now it's a clearly deflated market, people are saying it's illegally deflated. But I think they're also conflating the fact that this isn't just a 2019 Lamar. It's the 2023 Lamar with questions about his durability and his want to. Based on the contract, fair or not. Let's take a break. 8 four four two O four rich is the number to dial here on the program. We'll take your calls and we come back.

"The cowboys. In an iron uniform. Well then if you want names, I can tell you you don't want that. The first one is fatigue. No more Tom Brady. Matters Bengals this year? I think you look at the dolphins. That's the one. Evil stirring it up again. Look, Brady versus Brady is a dolphin going to take on Josh Allen is absolutely a Sunday Night football week one. Hands down. They might have to NBC if Brady comes and does this and he does it as late as I think that people are telling me to look for it. They might can NBC will call up NFL and say, first time we've ever asked, can we flex out of our first game? Dolphins jets, Brady Rogers. Oh my God. Let's talk dolphins packs. Rogers fatigue people. You can not watch you are banned. You gotta be in the NFL is gonna block you. Like it's Twitter. The rating on that number, Mike. I'm gonna hear what that 15 years got a better chance. Can't decide. So when they decide, you can't watch. Make a rule. I should be on the competition committee. He's done. I think that might be out of your jurisdiction on the competition committee. Yeah, I mean, that's not really what it is. And then the context, the context I'm picking up, is if you want braided comeback, you clearly don't like kittens. There you go. Oh, so suddenly he's back. This kitten's going hungry. Wow. Hey, that's a cute cat. That is kind of cute. Fatigue. You must have cat fatigued on it. You know, do not mess with cat people. Rogers fatigued Brady fatigue. Then I'm fatigued of you. Peter king coming up here on the program. You got fatigue fatigue. I am fatigued of people with fatigue. I think it's a better chance of one 60 for Brady coming out than Brady playing again next year. That's my guess. For Brady. Seriously, part two. One 60 for Brady has a better chance of coming out. Steve for Brady. Yeah, I'm not kidding. Seriously. I mean, you got to find a people who are under 6 years old. You're not going to find them. I'm telling you he's done. He's done. I like the rumor, though. One 60 for Brad. I do like the rumor though, which is what? You said that it comes back. But I think he's done. I think he's not doing it. Yeah, I think he is done right now. He's done it. But you heard something that would be a circumstance that arises, and if it does dovetail with his personal life, he is now going to be free to do it. You know why? Because he's a free agent in 8 days because he didn't sign an extra deal with somebody. with a cap or for old anxiety or retire somebody. He's free and clear to do whatever he wants. Whether it's to go come out and be a dolphin or go buy tender vittles. The only cat brand I know. You're not a cat guy? I'm a dog guys, you know. I just said tender videos into a microphone. That works. I'm proud of myself. Right? The catch house. Authentic. But I've got fancy feast fatigue. Say that ten times fast. He could be picking cat smell coming for a while. Please start cheating on my diet here by having one of those sugar based fruits and all of a sudden it's just like hey Tom cookies. He's probably like rich did what? Honestly, like I don't normally do this sort of thing. But remember what you said, you're not making this up. This is just stuff that just can you what I heard at the combine and what's bigger than what I heard at the combine from people like then that nothing. Literally nothing. But Brady fatigue, hey, I want the names of anybody with Brady fatigue. And the same thing with any I know there's a lot of people with Rogers fatigue. But you don't want that listed. I know I want the list because you can't watch if he comes back. CBS doesn't have receipts that watch something else. Go stream a show, go do something else. You are not allowed to watch Tom Brady in a dolphin uniform or any other uniform you might put on. Right, yeah. No, I can't watch Tom Brady with the niners. Hold on, I'm gonna be like 49. I can't watch that game against Green Bay because I have Brady fatigue. Aaron Rodgers jets in his green. Going in a Belichick to take on a patriots for the jets, Rogers for the jets going in at western New York to take on Josh Allen. That could be your first Sunday Night football game. "How about that? Maybe he went to see Kelsey? I don't know. Maybe. Could have been? He's talking to the jets. And he can't just talk to anybody without permission. So something's up. It's not anyway. I said that I heard from some people. Just keep an eye on Brady. That's all. Keep an eye on him. He's not talking about coming back right now. He's not like it's not like he's coming back. Right. But just keep an eye on him. It could be circumstances that work out that he can come back. You never know. That's it. Oh my God. Kind of went nutty. Okay? Everywhere. It is kind of everywhere. When the daily mail picks it up, something's up. Usually not great. Brady's chimed in on Twitter. Here you go. Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a two month old kitten for their daughter. There you go. But in a few months, that'll be like a 6 month old kitten and so it'll be a little bigger. And that's what I said. Two people who are like keep an eye on Brady. I even said that he's instagramming videos of a little kitten. Does it strike me as like grinded tape? Down out there? Stretching? Yeah, it's not like rocky chasing roosters in an alley. Time to go to chicken in a rock. It's not crap and thunder or what is he eating thunder, crap, lightning, or eating lightning and crap. Yeah. No, he's instagramming out. Pictures of kittens. Videos of kittens. Skiing. You scan? He's having a good time with his kids. Yeah. Come out to the slopes. So. I'm sorry I had to go take to Twitter Tom and just be tongue in cheek here. But just keep an eye on him. His options are open. He is a free agent 8 days. By the way, there's something. It would be incredible. This guy comes back and plays one more year. I think it would be awesome. I feel like I feel like there's a lot of Brady fatigue of, you know. Like, come on, bro, you're doing what Favre is doing. You know what? Come back, you're not back. Which is it? Let me explain something to everybody out there. The Brady fatigue. Let me just say this. To anybody out there with Brady fatigue, get out of here with that nonsense. Get out of here. Oh, Brady fatigue. And same thing with Rogers fatigue. Get out of here. Get out of here. So, Rogers fatigue, even he was perfectly put. He's like, if you don't want to hear me answering questions asked of me? No, no, no. Tune me out. But we can. Once we talk about it every day. No, we don't. What we do, so but that's the poll point of the fatigue. Then don't talk about it. Keep his name out of your mouth. Yeah. But keep my name here. But do you understand what I'm saying? Oh, I got all the spring fatigue. He didn't do anything. He's hanging out with his girls baby kitten. And

"And I'm sure they'll be all eyes to see how much guaranteed from them what do you think? And this is why to me, this is really interesting. I mean, the player should be fighting really hard for a short deal. All three of these guys, by the way. And if I'm hurts, I'm actually sitting back going to the Caribbean, let those are the guys get the deals done then I'm coming in. And I'm hoping they did three or four year deals, and I'm hoping they've pushed the $50 million up into the 50 to $55 million range. And I don't understand any way you can walk into the eagles offices and say, you know, I want what they got. I have accomplished comparable amount and how do they say no. Now the eagles are going to fight for a long-term deal. I mean, they're still employing many of the philosophies I did when I was there. The longer the deal, the better it is for the team. I mean, if he does a three year deal, they own his rights for four more years. The capital have gone up a $100 million between now and then. That's almost 50%. So a guy making 50 million now is going to be a 75 to $80 million per year player in 5 years. So the eagle is going to every extra year they get is going to save them a massive amount of money, even if they give him a great deal right now. That highest paid guy right now is 50. Let's say they gave him 53, 54, 55, which would be a big jump at that level. Yes, from where we are right now. But let's say they get 5 years instead of four. That 5th year should be at 80 million bucks instead it's going to be a part of an average of 50. mean, $30 million probably for every extra year they get on that contract. By the way, the same will be true for borrowing Herbert on all those guys. See, if I was an agent right now, we're presenting those because I wouldn't be fighting for the guarantee. I'm going to get a huge guarantee no matter what. I'm taking that huge guarantee, but I'm fighting like hell for a short deal. It's not going to take long for you to be sitting there with somebody like her to maybe has gone to two super bowls by the time it's been a little league three or four years from now. So you think mahomes is the last ten year deal that we're going to see? I don't think we'll ever see that again. People forget Holmes did something mahomes did something and I didn't even think at the time it was a terrible idea or it's turned out to be a terrible idea and many people saw it at the time. His contract is really effectively fully guaranteed for ten years. And at the time he jumped the market by almost 20%. So I'm thinking, okay, he jumped the market. It's going to take two, three, four years for the market to catch up to where he is. And he's effectively getting a ten year fully guaranteed contract. He's going to make 500 million bucks. But what happened was the next deal worked off of his deal. So instead of taking three or four years to catch the market up to the jump that he created, it took like one, right? So by the time we get to the third or fourth year, his deal, it's a horrible deal. Unless he's getting $500 million to play in a place that he loves for coach that he loves in a situation where they're in it every year. And so flipping away back to what you said about Lamar, sometimes you take what you take when you're in a spot that you love with a coach that you love and a spot where you can win. It is the question though for me is I think it could have had all of those things and done a 5 year deal. And then done another 5 year deal. I mean, it wasn't like a chief suit going to fall out of love with him. Right. And then he could have just protected himself against. Now when he did his deal, it wasn't as obvious now that cap was going to go up this much. We thought the cap was going to go up when we got teams opening in places like LA where you have new TV market deals coming along. But he jumped the market by 20%. So at least for a while, maybe he's kind of ahead of the game. And then the guarantees kind of cover maybe the shortfall of the last few years. But the market has blown fast so fast. It's just a terrible deal. So what else we need to secure? What do you think? What else is on his plate here? Well, listen, how many he believes what I stated earlier? And that's where he's going to start. He's going to try to walk down the quarterback and he's going to try to solidify both of his lines. And he's going to go from there. And they're really in pretty good shape if you do those two things. They're going to have some sleighs turning older. Bradbury is about to become a free agent. So they have some work to do, especially in the secondary. Right. But they've now won two super bowls with what I think is just a pretty good while they made two super bowls. I know what you might have done. But they did it with a secondary that most teams would not be playing in a Super Bowl with. Right. Because dominant defensive line, which is which how he hit twice during the season as well with Joseph and Sue. He hit it on he kept hitting it again and again. The good thing with the season. The good thing with the eagles and how he is you don't really have to work very hard to predict what they're going to do. I mean, their philosophy is very, very evident, both how they play the game itself. Yes. And how they build the team. So it's one of the easier teams linked to predict what they're going to do. He's going to acquire more additional defensive and offensive lineman until he feels like he's not only got dominant lines, but he's got some depth in case something happened. Then he's going to go and do whatever's next. He needs a running back, but he'll get that in the middle of the draft and he'll be fine with it. And he even likes the guy that they got. And they got to work on the secondary and the defense. They're going to lose a lot of players, but they are much closer to staying at the top than people realize, especially if hertz plays. And they clearly hit on the coach. They hit on the coach, who would have thunk. I gave him incredible credit. It takes a lot. If you have a long coaching search, yes, no matter how good it is you're getting ripped. That's just the way it works. As it goes on, it appears to be like you were ill prepared. Yes. It's taking too long. People must be rejecting it. All that stuff starts to get speculated. So you've just got to really believe in yourself and just trust like none of this matters as long as in the end we win. So they went through a process there where they were just taking incredible heat. And from the outside it did look like, but the reality is they were just like, we know what we're looking for. And we haven't seen it yet. And then it's going to keep looking. And then it's first press conference. Which he even used this year by showing it to his team, syriani used himself in his first press conference to show everybody how you can improve. I've just loved everything that he's done from start to present, man. And both his assistants get rated. "Executive in this league that we love in the NFL and the cofounder of the 30 13 checkout many of his musings and players and coaches from back in the day. Writing there. So let's jump into what the bears decision is first overall. Did you ever have the number on the road to pick? We took McNabb with two that was the ice cream. That was the highest you got. Yeah, thankfully, that's as high as you got to thankfully that you had a chance to get McNabb. I was thinking thankfully we never had the first time. What did you think of when he got booed job? That's terrible. 'cause he wasn't Ricky Williams. You didn't have any thought of taking Ricky Williams. No, I listen to the irony is that we've taken a running back. We had Edgar and James with a higher grade, but it was never even a consideration to take a running back. But if we had, that would have really shocked us. You would have taken edge and James. Well, I think everybody the cult's kind of surprised everybody by taking. And we had it the same way in our board if we were picking a running back. But now we have a lucky to get Donovan a really good guy. So did you all right, so what was your chat with him after you got booed? What did you and Andy say to him? We wanted him to know that now he was one of us. We had his back and all that at the same time we didn't want to make it a big deal. Donovan's mindset at the time and who knows what is really feeling was. I'm okay. Don't worry about it. I can't handle this. I'm okay. Right. But you know, you dream of that moment, your whole life. And then it happens, and it's got all this negative stuff around it. Right. And he doesn't have a strong minded guy, a self confident guy, but I can't imagine, you know, I actually went to a dinner once and got booed. And that's a terrible feeling. You weren't even you went to death. The Maxwell club, okay. Which I was actually on the board at, and they introduced the people sitting on the day, I just wanted a time. And it was very early when Jeff and I were there. We had produced very much yet. Yeah. And so the introduce you got to literally walked through the crowd to get to the front stage and I got booed. You got booed. Because the team hadn't produced enough. Philadelphia now. I get it. I was at the Super Bowl this year and eagles fans are in the stadium and they introduced the Hall of Famers, the new Hall of Fame class. DeMarcus ware. They didn't do them any favors by put them on the board as a Bronco. They put them on the board as a cowboy. Boo. Doc Prescott. Near the air. Boo. But I respect it. That's it. I did not say that as a complaint. It was a great place to work. The people. I mean, it's so much fun when you go in well and there are so on board and just the energy and excitement. So I would, I wouldn't want to work in one of the cities that was more passive about the team. But it comes with good and bad. No doubt about it. So I do want to talk about the eagles current state and future plans with you in a second. But what do you think the bears are going to do with the first overall pick in their options? I think they're going to trade that pick. I personally wouldn't. I just think the top two quarterbacks in the staff are so good and I worry about fields. And it just changes everything for a decade or more. But listen, those are opinions I could easily be wrong. We're watching a game in which quarterbacks running are having impacts that we didn't predict even 5 years ago. So there were ways they can use fields. I think you can be very effective. And the top two in your mind are Bryce young and CJ strap. So if you're the bears you'd take one of those two. I would. Listen, this is how I think about it. If you hit on the first round, it's 50%. That's the hit rate of the first round. They hit right in the second round, it's 40%. So let's just say you got two ones and two twos. You probably are getting two players. Two quality starters. What I trade the difference between let's say a B quarterback and an a quarterback or two other players at different position. I mean, for me, that's a no brainer or the quarterback can make such a massive difference. Then I'm taking the difference between a good and a really good quarterback. And remember, they're both really projection at this point. We know a little bit more about fields. We've at least seen them on the field with other NFL plays the other guys we haven't. Right. And I'm not sure in the end I would pick Stroud even first if I had the first pick, some of it just watching all the Murray's all the hurts, all these guys are getting hurt. So maybe we shouldn't be blowing through size actually matters as quickly as we have as we go to chyla mare's the first pick in the draft. So if you gave me a chance to have a guy that I really believe is a chance to be the top 5 difference make it can carry a team versus beyond a very good team. I'm willing to make that trade. So I want to get the best quarterback I possibly can within reason. So if we then assume that polls is going to trade it that they do seemingly love fields clearly more than what you have professed. And they are also the ones in the building with them. Let's just say that's what's going to happen. What's polls is first order of business continuing to do that. How does one operate when you're trading a first overall pick? His phone is probably ringing, hopefully it's not the other way because it does give away a little bit of strength a few other one initiating the call, but you can always cover that up. I always say the leverage of the negotiations is a perception of leverage as opposed to anything you actually have. So no one knows how many other teams are talking to them or what's in the draft they're at. So it's easy to recreate the leverage, even if he gets in the position where he has to initiate the calls. But he's looked at what once got, he looked at what looked off God. He's gone through all those trades, and he's like, why shouldn't I get at least that? And I think he's right. I think there's enough teams in the top ten that want to quarterback. There are really high quarterbacks at the top of the draft, and I think he's going to get when he makes the trade as much as we've seen anybody get. So I think once three ones and a couple of twos, I think it's going to be a blockbuster trade as big as anything we've ever seen. Really? Okay. When do you think that happens? Well, you know, if I were trying to do what I would want to do it before free agency started because otherwise, how can I plan what to do? So I wouldn't be shocked if it happens here in the next week or so. If it doesn't happen next week or so I think it's probably not likely to happen within a week or two with a draft. I think there's two windows we're in one now. If it passes in this kind of a lull in the middle and that is we get close to draft, it heats up again. And before I let you go on to your day, what do you think is in front of Howie roseman right now? I actually think this is the most interesting contract of all the ones we're out there and Jalen hurts. Yeah. Okay. By the way, burrows in line and Herbert's in line.

"Somebody to draft this year if you like them if you interviewed them and you like them, right? I mean, don't you think? Well, somebody's going to get from around there. They're going to get one of those guys. Vegas, it's 7. Right. So you go into 7, 8, 9, four, I think two of those teams are going to trade up a two of those spots. Let's just say we don't know who will have them by then. Two of those spots are going to trade up, I mean, I personally think there's two studs in the draft and a couple of other guys that have a good chance we'll see, but they're more question marks. But I think you can get to two and still get somebody. That's what I'm saying. But obviously Lamar would have to do them the favor of signing at a spot where they could be already in position high enough to draft his replacement. Again, there's a lot of dice roll right here. Remember, and the somebody has to be willing to give them a fully guaranteed contract. Because it doesn't go good to go through all of this and just go to a different team and not get what he wouldn't take from Baltimore. And apparently Atlanta wasn't willing to do that all those years ago, which is why John Watson wound up in exactly Cleveland. I look at the list. I'm not sure who on that list I point to and say that owner would give somebody fully guaranteed contract for over $200 million. I'm not sure. There's not another one in the league, right? It looks, it's very hard to even predict anybody that you think would do that. Which is why the ravens should say you go find it. Go for it. Exactly. Let's take a break. Joe banner here on the rich Oz and Shaw, I want to talk about what the bears may do with the first overall pick. I want to talk to you about what Howie roseman might do in Philadelphia and how he's going to approach the Jalen hurts contract conversation that is still to come. Joe banner when we come back

"Where the medical advances have been so great that we hardly ever see a player whose career ends. So Lamar Jackson's like I suddenly go out and have a career ending injury. Could he have enough injuries if people start to worry about his durability? We may be on the precipice of that right now. That can certainly happen. But the injury risk that players take when they wait now is so much smaller than it was a decade ago. And most of it's because they prepare better and because the medicine is such a we used to worry about guys coming back from ACLs. Then we had a period where all come back from an ACL, but not till year two. Right. Now we watch guys get back out on the field and they look like nothing ever happened. So I don't think he should rush to do a deal out of fear of getting hurt. And I've been saying that for two years, and I think if he had an agent, look, all the agents that have represented these plays are doing these deals after three years. Because it's hard to walk away from a 150 plus $1 million a year. They're also not getting that Desean Watson deal either. No, no. My point is you'd rather get that, but if the choice is to have to leave a team that believes in you with a coaching staff that you have a good report with on a team they have a good chance to win. What you're fighting for is probably not going to matter. What do you think of that, Chris? What do you think of that TJ? This is pretty much straight talk right there. Walk me through before we put a pen in this part of our conversation, Joe banner. What's Eric decosta's choice between how to franchise tag him that's coming between now and 4 p.m. Eastern Time that we're assuming that's going to happen that this Rubik's Cube on what contract he's willing to accept in the ravens are willing to offer is not going to get solved between four now and four Eastern Time. He'll get tagged even if it's for the purpose of trading him they're not going to just do nothing. They may be using the deadline to see if there's any way to scramble. I mean, listen, at some point, the ravens must not be believing a 100% that he's either take out a fully guaranteed deal or not. It's like there's no in between ground. Obviously, it's a negotiation. You never really know until the end. What was the other side really willing to do versus what were they saying they were willing to do? They're always two different things, even though sometimes they close. So the cost is, if you feel like he has a chance to get a deal done, it's a good window to scramble in and go listen. Let's take one last shot at this thing to try to do it. But if they're really set on the fact that they're not giving a guaranteed deal, then they can tag them two ways. One gives another teams an opportunity to talk to them. Yes. If they get a deal done and the ravens get two ones back this year and next year is one the other draft pick doesn't allow anybody to talk to him even. He's theirs for a year. It's pay a lot more money. I think it's about $15 million difference. So what would you well, listen, you'd have to really know what's going on. We're guessing a little bit about what's going on, in which case I would put the lower tag on. Me too. And say, hey, you go, don't take our word for it. You go. Right. And also knowing if you want to play some four or 5 dimensional chess, that one of the spots you might really want to go to and talk to is Miami, and they don't have a first round selection this year. So they would be ineligible for signing Lamar because they don't have a one this year. Now obviously they can go ahead and make a trade to get one just to hand to the ravens and say we have it for you, but to me that would be that would be the way to go. Well, you're the expert. Well, I don't think there's any choice because now you're in a negotiation. So you're looking for a little bit of leverage. So if he's tacked to pay for $32 million a year, he's more motivated to get something done. Now, something done may be with somebody else. Remember, they can't trade without him agreeing to it because he has to sign the tag before they can trade him. Yes. So people need to remember that. He will have a certain amount of control even once he's tagged as to what happens next year. Now, we all want to end the last season, was he hurt that bad that he had to miss whatever ended up being 7 or 8 gams, because remember when he went out, we thought he was going to be back in three or four weeks. Yes. Or did the contract play some part in that weekend speculate forever? We'll probably never know. But if, in fact, you're even worried about that and you're at the team and you tag him. Knowing that he has no problem not playing and collecting the money. What are you going to do now? He's already demonstrated he could just leave you hanging there. You could have him. He could be in a position. We have to pay him and you got nothing for him. Who's your quarterback for this year? And how are you going to get some value for him in the future? So the ravens are really highly motivated to find a way to get something done here relatively soon in my opinion because they could really end up where it's just so obvious that they have to do something that they've got really no options and that he truly is going to stick to his guns. What if we can just last one and then we'll take a break and we'll have I want to ask you about the eagles and what you think they're going to do moving forward here. What about Atlanta? I'm just throwing that out there. Just don't just to name out there. And I know they have Desmond Ritter, but do you think Atlanta would cough up to one side? I do. Okay, I do. As well. So then you're Baltimore. You're sitting there at 8. You got

"Look at the bacon, it feels like Garoppolo feel like if they were on the right situation maybe. I don't see that. And I see Rogers is the only chance that really has a chance to dramatically elevate the team. I think it's at the point in time where he needs to do that. Now, a lot of things have to fall in place. The Pakistan have to be willing. Yes. And there is a point where he's just going to say, okay, it's too much. You know, we've got the guy for a couple of years. It's just too much. But you can sense when a team is at the point where they're getting anxious. And I feel like it feels that way with the chats. They feel good about what they've done so far. They feel like they're on the right track, but it's time to take a bigger step forward than the steps they've been taking so far. So for me, it's kind of a natural spot that the team and the player where they're at could match up. Joe banner here, former NFL executive cofounder of the 30 13 website right here on the rich eisen show. What is happening in your best of your ability between Lamar Jackson and the ravens and the conundrum that they seem to be in once again as franchise tag days arrived. You know, I've been really defending Lamar for the last couple of years when people crusader doesn't have an agent to all these kind of stuff. I thought he was making the right move. Take your time. The market's going to go up, you know, you're not going anywhere. And I couldn't imagine a scenario in the end. I mean, he was saying, I want to finish my career in Baltimore, the ravens was saying, oh, we'll get this done it's just a question of when. And here we sit. And, you know, we all think it's because of the guaranteed money. And I think we're probably right about that. But we never really know what's going on inside those negotiations. I just think that Lamar has viewed himself as somebody who's standing up for the collective good of the players and the opportunity to potentially leverage the Watson contract and getting himself a fully guaranteed contract. And what that could mean is we go down the road. I think he's taken that on as a cause. So I don't think it's just his contract anymore. I think that he's seeing a much greater importance and much greater opportunity now. Here's the reality, despite what you hear is, if you're 25 years old and you're a top tier player, the chances that you're going to collect a 100% of your contract are extraordinarily high. So if he's fighting, if he has an offer in front of him, the average is fair, the length is something he can live with. And he's fighting to get more of it guaranteed. He's fighting for something, has almost no chance of mattering. I know we're always saying like we're judging contracts. The guy gets the most guaranteed money actually got the best deal. Yes. It's not always true. If you're 25, a very narrow category I'm talking about. And your top tier player at your position and you sign a three four 5 year deal. The odds are extremely high. Whether 10% of that contract is guaranteed or 75% that you're going to get all the money in that contract. So there is a risk. I'm not saying it's a 100%. But if he's in a place where he's happy, he's had coaches, I think, that have done a really good job to use what he does well. You know, I do think they have some wide receivers in there now. They got hurt last year. I mean, I thought he looked really good, but for a long time, didn't have the weapons that he needed to really thrive all the time in the passing game. If I were him, I would try to find a way to get the deal done. Now that's assuming that the length and the average are okay. Because he's guarantees we're going to watch all of these in the mid 20s who sign these new deals in mid 20s and they're all going to collect all the money in the contract. So he's fighting for something that I think is of minimal value. And he could end up having to go to a place that he won't be happy. They can't take advantage of what he does as well. I work with John harbor if it's 12 years. I can say he's not going to find a quote any better to play for than John harbor. So I think he's in a really good situation, and he should make sure if he's fighting for something. It really is going to matter. So by the way, for the stuff that you hear and I kind of trafficked in that world yesterday when I came up with a whole bunch of rumors and actually said them and spilled some tea that I heard at the combine from a bunch of people that the Raven support of Lamar publicly is through the roof and even relationships that you sense aren't perfect that wind up being more imperfect. There's usually just the tip of the iceberg, they haven't given any hint of that at all publicly. They have done nothing but throw their arms around them and loving and support them and that in that respect. But I'm trying to pick up what you're putting down here. Do you think Joe banner if Lamar had an agent? He'd have settled by now. I do just because everybody else in his shoes did, but I'm not sure that's what's right. Like I said, I've been, I've been applauding the fact. I mean, if you're a quarterback, and you're a star player, the longer you wait, the more money you're going to get. Now you're taking some injury risk. Yes.

"Possible. Right. We've seen surprising things, but I mean, I just think about it. And listen, he's a guy that has a lot of emotions. He has a lot of opinions. I don't say that critically. Most successful people do quite frankly. Yes. But the emotion that comes with that after all these years after what they went through last year did the contract, I can't even picture how you start the conversation. You don't have the second thought we'd actually like to have you come back. You had a whole year to think about this and figure out how to say on second thought I'd like to come back. Yeah, listen, if he gets too another place or places. Yes. And he doesn't feel they can win and there's only options. But I think this truth and I know you said it, but others have too. I think there's some truth to the package kind of feeling like it's time to get to the next phase of what the pack is going to be. When I also said this too, Joe is that Rogers saying he wanted out may not have anything to do with anything other than he looks around the locker room and he doesn't know any of these kids anymore anyway or and he's aged out if you will on the package will be like it's time we drafted this kid and now these kids have to grow together and he may feel that sense and other than Bach chiari and Randall Cobb, there may not be anybody on that roster who he feels that tight with close with. It's not the same way. It's not as fun. He doesn't want to be around as much anymore. So let's try something new. Let's try something else. Totally understand that. And if he does look at the jets and he does see that there's weapons around and he does have the offensive coordinator he likes and he does have the city life that he probably would want to give a kick of a tire to. I get it. So what happens then? What do you think is your best guess, Joe banner, former NFL executive, the conversation, the horse trading between Brian Gouda kun's GM of the packers and Joe Douglas GM of the jets is, what do you think that looks like? I think they're packers are going to be thinking huge. And go back to the Brett Farr experiment that you had at the jets, but I think the packers are going to think that they should be able to get a quite a bit for the quarterback. I mean, you still played really well last year. I'm not saying you played as well as he did 5 years ago, or he's that same guy, but he does put you on the map as a Super Bowl contender. So they'll ask for the 13th overall pick. And go from there. That's what the last four. I think the last for a couple of ones. What do they got to lose? And then they'll back off from there. Would you accept that if you were Joe Douglas? Let's put you in the shoes. Here's the problem. This is a $60 million contract. I saw you guys talking about this with Andrew Brant. What should happen? And then there's what happens. And a lot of it is driven. And you mentioned this, are you going to risk your job for the difference between paying somebody 35 and 45? Are you going to risk your job because it's a 13th pick versus it's two twos? And the jets guys are getting to the point where somebody's going to have higher expectations of what they should be achieved. And they've been in place long enough we see go back to the bills when they turned it around, go back to Andy when they go into Kansas City. By the end of three years, you should have a very good team. That's my view of it. Year one, maybe you have to take a step back, which year two used to be starting to move forward by year three. We should be obvious to everybody. It shouldn't be the owner sitting there going, I'm not sure. Well, you know, Joe Douglas, Robert seller, kind of at the point now. We really started to legitimately have some high expectations. And if they can't deliver them, they got to find themselves in the hot seat conversation. So do you overpay for a rajas, and you feel maybe not confident in what you have anymore? Sure you do. You're giving away picks that the next guy would have used if you didn't use them to get the right place to at least convince the audience to deserve some more time. And then that comes into every one of these decisions when you talk about these quarterbacks, why, for the most part, we just saw her, but we generally haven't seen a middle marketplace. Because Aikman left the cowboys ten years to find the right next guy. And then we lost McNabb when I was in Philadelphia. We tried to kind of pass the torch to Vic, because we'd seen this happen so many times, though. If you don't anticipate what drafted Cobb in the second round, all with the hope that we weren't going to be the team that took 5 or ten years to find the next quarterback to the last one, because if you're that guy, you're probably not there by the time you find that quarterback unless you're lucky enough to hit on the first try and not have a top 5 pick. That's why the eagles went on and got once a few years ago. They were like, you know, traded a massive amount to get up to get wines. And we were all sitting there going. You know, he looks really good, but he didn't play it at top notch school and he didn't play that much and he even got hurt a little bit in college. Wow, this is a big gamble. But you recover from it, but you've got to have a situation where you trust that the owner really, really believes that you. So unless, by the way, the straight talk from Joe banner here. Unless basically what you're saying that Gouda kunst asks for the moon and won't back off and refuses to toss in any money, hardly any money, the jets and Gouda coons will come to some sort of an agreement because this is the best option for Joe Douglas to try and win playoff games right here right now at his part of his tenure of his stay with the jets. Yeah, I mean, I think the difference is, I mean, I'm not sitting here thinking he can sign Garoppolo instead and he's got a real good chance to go a long way.

Ran into this man at the combine as well. He is a fixture. There as well as at all big time events for the National Football League. That's part of the reason why he's in the pro football Hall of Fame in that wing. He is from NBC sports and the football morning in America scribe Peter king back here on the show. How you doing PK? Rich. Good to be on with a good to see you in Indianapolis. Thank you right back at you. What is going on between the jets and Rogers? It seems like if the Genie is now out of the Green Bay bottle, that this is going to happen to me. What do you think? Peter? Well, I don't know. As someone at the combine said to me, a very good friend of one of the three decision makers in the jets organization. His very good friend has not returned his call in two months. And he knows why. Because they are hunkered down and they're not going to talk about what they're doing until they do it. My feeling as is your feeling rich is that obviously they want Aaron Rodgers, a number of things could be happening right now. A, they could be convincing Rogers that it's really probably the only place he can go. He's not going well, I shouldn't say he's not. But he's almost he's very unlikely to go to Vegas. I have not heard and I talked to all of the usual suspects in Indianapolis, I found nobody else who's really chasing after Aaron Rodgers because people don't want a short term solution. Now, Carolina doesn't want to short term solution. Indianapolis has had nothing but short term solutions. So they don't want that. So the jets really plus the Jets have a top 5 defense in football. It really is a very good place for Rogers to go. But again, does he want to play, does he want to play for the jets? Does he want to play somewhere else? I'm of the opinion rich that Jordan Rogers and our Jordan love and Aaron Rodgers, one of them is not going to be on the Green Bay Packers this year. And I think the packers would prefer that it be Rogers who goes just like it was 15 years ago this week. Literally. Unbelievable. That Brett Favre left the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers was annoying it as a starter. But again, I wish I had great insight information to tell you, I just simply don't. I hear you. And I appreciate you saying that. But you read the room and for Rogers to be given permission to talk to the jets, speaks volumes as far as I'm concerned, and one thing I want to pick pick up that you dropped is why not the Raiders? I know raiders fans sit there and think, hey, Rogers coming out here and throwing it avante Adams. Let's run that back. And figure out how to make sure Josh Jacobs, who's franchise tag and Darren Waller. And everyone else that they have under contract and stay there and run that back because you look at the division and it's mahomes sitting astride it and Herbert and Russell Wilson now, one would think going to be vastly improved with Sean Payton. That's a deep, deep end of the pool that they need to one would think splash in with Aaron Rodgers. Why not? Why not the Raiders? You know, you're right about that ridge, but I think there's two things number one there are a lot of people around the league who think that Mark Davis simply does not want or can't. Basically get into the business of throwing an extra $60 million at Aaron Rodgers. However, they would do that contract this year. Now, the Raiders do have per over the cap, about 31 million in what's called effective capital, which is the more realistic number that they can spend. And so they probably have the money to finagle and to do things. But the problem with the Raiders is the Raiders have a lot of holes. And the Raiders I don't believe want to buy a one or two year band aid, even if it meant that it would be great for them this year. I think the Raiders want to get a quarterback if they want to get a quarterback who is somewhere between financially manageable like theoretically Jimmy Garoppolo would be in the I'm guessing based on the last two days because of the last two quarterbacks who have signed somewhere in the 30 to $35 million range. I would think Garoppolo would be and is somewhere between that. And drafting a young quarterback in developing him.

Good to see you, Joe. Great to be here. That was a mouthful. You know what? I talk mouthfuls for a living. That's what I do for a living. We're getting to the nitty and the Gritty portion of team building. Are we not right now? Right on the edge. We're right on the edge. It's one week ago yesterday is when the negotiation window opens up. What do you think of that term? Joe diner. Negotiating window. What do you think of that? Who have we got it? Came up with that is pretty clever. Don't you think it's better than cheating, right? Don't you think? Well, we negotiation period. Is that what it is? Negotiation period. We used to call it tampering period and we heard that maybe we want to choose a different word. Aaron Rodgers shows up in New York to talk to the jets. Clearly that means the packers are given permission. Absolutely. What do you mean? What do you read from that? Well, I think it's hard to imagine going back to Green Bay after he goes and takes a visit with another team and we don't know what could be the first of a series of visits. But I can't picture a scenario where the team gives a quarterback that stature at this point in his career permission to go talk to another team that he's coming back to them. Right, it's tough to put that Genie back in the bottle, right? I mean, even with darkness for four days and whether or else you're going to do, I don't know how you get to the place where you go, okay. Right. I'm going back there. He's at least earned wanting to be wanted, right? Right. Exactly. So the fact that he's gone there means he's essentially gone, don't you think? I think it'll be shocking if you ended up back in Green Bay after this. I mean, two days ago, he asked me I would have said, who knows? Right, you know? But now that you hear he has shown up in New York and he is having direct conversations with the jets which must have been blessed by Green Bay. I mean, actions speak loud on the words, at least one of them said I don't want to be back here, at least I want to look into what my options are and. In the conversation of the best quarterbacks ever to play the game. Now you bring them back after you say that to him. Or he said to you, you know, I'd like to see what else is available. I can't picture what a conversation fixes that and then we line up training camp everything's good. Let's pretend that it happens. So then what's your best guess of what the conversation is between Rogers and the jets? Well, I assume the jets are just in a recruiting mode. And I assume they have at least had some preliminary conversations with the packers. Men is just too visible to think. It's not going to go unnoticed. Right. And they could play as on their team that are going to be affected mentally, psychologically, but what they're seeing. So I assume they've at least had preliminary conversation enough to know that if they want to get a deal done, there are at least in the same ballpark they may still have to finish the details. And their own recruiting mode, you know, they're trying to show him that, finish your career and have another chance at a Super Bowl, you can do it here. I mean, that's to me, it's a tough sell. And who those of you guys, but that's a tough sell. What makes you think it's a tough sell? I'm very basic about this. I don't think you want a soup while they're great quarterback in two dominant lines. Everything else, that's not the end of the story, but you've got to start there. And I just don't see the jets even with a Rogers at the point where they're going to be able to dominate those lines the way teams. You've got to be able to prevent pressure on your quarterback able to get pressure on the other quarterback. If you look at the end of the teams that went in almost every year, you can say those things, they were really good at protecting the quarterback. They were really good at pressuring the quarterback. And then have a pretty darn good quarterback of their own. That's right. Those are the three things now. Again, you don't win a Super Bowl. If you have those three things, but that's the foundation for me. Right. So if I'm Aaron Rodgers, I think I'm playing two more years. I'm not, I may be betting if I don't have any other options, but I'm not betting if I do have other options. That that team is in that position where they can dominate those areas that I think are crucial. I don't think he cares about anything, but winning a Super Bowl. Sure. So if he agrees that those are the priorities, you know, I think it would be tough to get there in the next two years with the jets. Right. And so that aside, because he may not have another option. Certainly we've established that you don't believe Joe banner the option of staying put once he's kicking tires going somewhere else in the packers say, go for it, you check it out, that you can put the Genie back in the bottle.

"Quickly now. Zach Wilson. I don't understand why the Jets wouldn't go Justin Fields, Trey Lance, but they end up going with Zach Wilson. The arm talent is obviously Exciting Does he have any chance to succeed there, at least in the short term? Sure, And I think they give it just a lot of cry. They 2nd 1st round pick but traded that ELISA, But it's other often development means so much to go, bro. You have to protect these young quarterbacks, so they have to fly back to the last year search from pick. Analyze very Tucker, this year's We're from Petty trade up four. So they're building the inside out. I think that we can have success. It's just gonna be a little tougher, given that he played in that that schedule that he played. That it was the power five schedule, so we'll see how that translates into bigger, faster, stronger players. But I mean the athleticism and the smarts and all the stuff we saw on film work. Certainly exciting. Is he better than Justin feels a freelancer Mexico's We'll have fun together, but we all thought Sam Donna was gonna be really good. Circumstances were such that he didn't have a chance. So I think that he has a better chance at Wilson doesn't sound like something. Sam Donaldson. You know, I heard Joe Banner former GM in the league formerly with the Eagles, and obviously the Browns, he said. Justin Fields didn't just drop at the end of the season, he said. Basically, maybe Justin Fields was never as high as the media had anointed him. That that sounds like fair logic. I just know that from what I saw, especially the way the league is transition for these guys that have mobility and somebody with the freak athleticism adjust in fields and the great arm talented. It just makes sense that he would be second right behind Trevor Laurence will NFL teams didn't feel that way. What is it that the media was missing all along when it comes to Justin Fields? Yeah, I think your banners on some things I talk to teams late in the college football season that had concerns about just kills a top five pick and at the time the team was in the top five conversation, and I remember saying, Okay, what's going on? Just feels I don't know if I have taken In the top five response I got and I think what happens is and that's why I like this one in the same boat with a lot of the social media bubble that the media in, You don't want to hear anything that disagrees with what you've been told for the last 3456 months. And NFL teams that we see its all time We saw it on the draft several picks in the third round that no one saw coming in the media. And then if it please, like these players more than the media did, and that's just sort of the nature of the beast. The whole idea of the draft is not to let people know what you're interested in doing this team. The 40 Niners did that to a T. And I think if Justin feels have gone back, and I said, there's a bunch of the draft free traps run up and just feel the return Ohio State, let's say and had another great season, which I'm sure you would have. We have been talking about him a year from now the same way we're talking trouble, Lawrence and that we had nothing to say, because everyone's had some issues in your sophomore season. He started off incredibly slow put it together. Like you did last year, And even though we're coming over for a game or two, and I think that's the thing we're testing field, the other thing. Let me is if you have the draft of your 15. We don't have to sell the story lines in the media. But why players really good or really bad And I think You know, I don't hands and all that. So we had an extra couple months and inevitably we came out some stuff about these players. And, um, they dropped in terms of perception and reality. I think NFL teams to exactly what these players were in January and they just want telling people because that's what they do. His fields in a decent spot in Chicago. Or should people be worried after what they saw Admit Strabinsky over the last years? Yeah, I love the idea of him going there and having success, But my concern is that Ryan pace of GM and then a day coach know that there Futures are tied to winning right now and you could argue they should have been fired over the offseason so well, they do what's in Justin feels short term and long term. Best interest. I don't know they just cut Leno, the left tackle, immediately distracted Kevin Jake into the second round. He's a great player. By the way, they sent seven innings and Mr successive right tackles better to move in the left tackle with a rookie quarterback. So, yeah, I mean, they're better situations for him, but also work situation. You just hope that Payson and Maggie have his best interests in mind both in the short term and long term, And if so, he has a chance to succeed. He can certainly play in that weather. No problem. But if things get hot, but they started one and three, for example, and you just wonder. Okay, hold on, just feels so this could be a bumpy ride. Could this be the beginning of the end of voluntary minicamp? That's an interesting question. I think we've seen some pushback between the NFL, NFLPA and agents. Because you know, it's one thing for veterans to say. I don't want to be out there and I get that but guys trying to make the team that had just been drafted or just signed undrafted free agents. I mean, come on. It's a lot to ask those kids to stand up for their new bosses and not show up. Uh, that sends a message. Whether, um, on the surface or subliminally that okay, these these owners, these coaches, these executives This player X decided not to show up and he's trying to win a job, so I think they have to nuance. That's a massage in such a way that that it makes sense for everyone, whether you're five or six year veteran or a guy who was literally just signed his undirected creation because he wasn't grabbed to train a little football team. So I don't know if we're there yet, And I think it sends the conversation with that union member. And the leading the players, But I think we're going in that direction for sure, man. Just two got away four months to start to see all this. Play out. Thank you so much for coming out. Ryan Wilson. Follow me on Twitter. Ryan Wilson. CBS appreciate Let's do it again, then. Yeah. Right. There is right, Wilson Happy Mother's Day and a lot of people have stuff going on. So we appreciate his time. We appreciate everybody listening today, and we appreciate most importantly when it comes to the latest in sports and what's going on as we speak and overnight That would be Kevin Dexter was on the update desk. "Gloomy here in Cleveland. We're welcoming in Ryan Wilson from the pick six podcasts always does a phenomenal job. So we had to bring it back here to get him on here immediately. Have them weigh in on some of these top story lines, and I'm sure Ryan, you've got to be really annoyed that it's probably not just the talk show host around the country. That you deal with. It's not just your podcast. You're very popular podcast, but it has to be just family members at this point. We're probably like, All right, knows something about football. What's going on with Aaron Rodgers is there. Roger is going to be in Green Bay? Is he gonna be out of Green Bay? Are you annoyed with the persistent questions? And how would you answer those? Hey, Lai Mei doing Ah, Happy Mother's Day that plastic into you with me, So here's the deal. I don't mind Aaron Rodgers talk because it's actually pretty exciting for this time of year. Usually I'm burned out on Draft cover's been doing it for 10 half months, and we're at the conclusion of that. And, you know the first day of the draft in over a week now. The Aaron Rodgers news breaks and it Z a slow burn because Aaron Rodgers you know, as I told you before it is Hall of Famer first found that out, but he's also incredibly vindictive and stubborn, and he feels like, you know, interactive thing out and make it as uncomfortable as possible for the Packers, So I'm happy to watch this. Real life soap opera unfold in slow motion. I'm sort of intrigued by it. I'm not a Pakistan because I would probably feel differently if I were But I do want to see other sense because I'm like John Watson, who said he wanted out of Houston. He had the mark of allegations that that sort of that process number one of number 2 24 25 years old. He's not just gonna retire and riders is accomplished more than enough. In one football lifetime, and he may feel like he's willing to, uh, be spiteful. Tell the Packers to go jump off a bridge. He's not going to relent in terms of anything they may do to try to make him feel better. And opportunities when they traded up for Gordon Love and didn't take a wide receiver in order to take a wide receiver at any point, this one point draft. They finally took one in the third round last week, and they got a good player to Marty Rogers. But again, maybe a Rogers is is at the point where he feels like he's done with it. I don't want to entire. I want to see him traded to a team of Denver and see what that does to that division. I would imagine. Actually, teams like the bills and the Ravens would love to see. A rod is better Denver as well and make it a lot harder for the Chiefs to be competitive, but You know, we'll figure it out together. I don't know if it's gonna have to happen up between one because the contract situation or if it's gonna happen, maybe closer to training camp. But that man, I swear it feels like Aaron Rodgers says, is probably Pretty close to saying he's played his last down as a member of green that practiced All right. I have noted the teams that I am most excited as storylines going into the season doesn't mean they're all gonna be great. I'm just excited about storylines. I said Arizona cardinals, the Rams, the Jaguars, colds and Browns of those, which are you? In your role most excited to see must watch, at least to start the season. A lot of those scenes in the conversation. I think we won is going to start with the Rams. Just get a sense of what Matthew Stafford is gonna look like in a shaman play offense, which, as should have most people pretty excited. Ransoms, especially Because you're not hasn't been able to do it consistently on a lot of ways. It feels like what's going on in Sampson's Kojima Garoppolo so dependent would say landscapes on the field that would put them in the mix as well. But I'm starting with the Rams. I want to see what they're doing. They never first round picks. Okay, He's never had a first round pick since he arrived in L A. We'll have little 2024 yet they continue to find ways to win. I think it's well worth the cost of getting Stafford. Whatever it was, they had to give up to get him because I think he's a difference maker for them, and we'll see just how much but They're a team. I think the Browns right here in the next and you know, I told you last week, I think the Browns have a chance. To be the favorite night division. For some reason, it feels like The Ravens are the other knee jerk favorite Just because of the reasons the Browns the Browns historically, but but I think me and Andrew Berry And tell Mr Fancy had that team going in the right direction, and they had a really good draft. They're young. They're faster. Physical. Baker makes his play with confidence on and on and on. And the only 19. I mentioned a sort of weird team to mention giving her you know how good they've been In the last two decades. I'm gonna see what happens with Cam Newton that Jones In New England. I want to see how that works out. I was soon maximums on field. I want to see how good he's gonna be compared to these other rookie quarterbacks. Is their world where they go crazy college style and use them both like a little. Urban Meyer would Chris Leak and Tim Tebow is there any chance of some like that? You didn't hear of any of that. Maybe it's too gimmicky, but they don't care about Cam Newton's future. They don't care about how many hits he takes. So is there a world where that's the case? Yeah, And I think we're living in it. I think this is the exact world we don't go to alter the universe. I think there's change that actually does happen. You mentioned the cans on a one year deal. And, you know, obviously the plan is T Make Mack Jones the next I don't think I'm ready for the next franchise. Teach the quarterback for the next decade or so. And the sooner the better and I was saying this From in January that after trait several on the quarterback must ready to play right now, Mac Jones. So there's that Zionist every time that he needs to spend learning the offense and you know if we're throwing kids out there on day one who are much less prepared than Max Jones, we've done that years past. You certainly imagine backgrounds and we're ready to go on. This team is completely different. Even once you're there, they were struggling on both sides of balls. They spent a ton of money on free agents. All they needed was a quarterback that got that in the draft. I think that's exactly the case. I think you see some coal on stuff with Cam. Actually my psychologist, not apartment and just this the other day, hold on stuff with Cam and then Mac Jones in more of a traditional package, and I think that probably happened sooner. Rather than later. They're gonna wait around to December two Figures of Matt Jones is I quickly now Zach Wilson. I don't understand why the Jets wouldn't go Justin Fields Trey Lance, but they end up going with Zach Wilson. The arm talent is obviously exciting. Does he have any chance to succeed there, at least in the short term? Sure, And I think I get it just like to cry. They 2nd 1st round pick but traded that catalyzed Tucker. Often development means so much to borrow. You have to protect these young quarterbacks, so they have a ride back to the last year Search round pick. Analyze very Tucker. I've worked with our become friends. You know and and in many ways I think the joy.
