"Throw line, and he knocks down that first free throw of this attempt. He was one of two of the first time he went to the stripes, and he's got two points of the ballgame. And he'll try to pull Rutgers within four as he hits Number two, and he's got three points. Indiana now leads it 11 to 7. Full court pressure applied by Young and Baker. Indiana's Rob Tennessee brings it up and throws it across the timeline to Al Dora Durham with the ball Reese. That's everything in between the circle slides for the left pulls up throws in the quarter. The fantasy of fakes the long one that throws it back out to our now boxes without the arm on Franklin dribbles to the Up bastards on the give and go to trace. He kicks off the new Adora for three. He missed this. One of the rebound out of Bassett should belong guy. You I think Miles Johnson got a piece of it. He did raise Thompson get into that weak side from his head right underneath the rim done come away with the rebound dog, but just his activity creates another opportunity for Indiana. The offensive end. Indiana will have a ball out of bounds at the Who's your end of the court. Al Dorm will inbound lobs and end to trace Jackson babies. He works on Johnson. Hands it off to Al Durham drives right kicks in the corner. It comes to our mind back out to the woods. Armand dribbles it to the top into the lady goes, lost the hand on a jump ball was called and the possession turned goes to Rutgers. Yeah, that weak side defense is there And that's just one too many dribbles for Armand. He's trying to turn the corner don, but that which you just make that extra pass right before that last dribble when you get too deep inside the lane to be a wide open, three there on the left wing. My mom's trying to make something happen here, don, but too many times this season, he's gotten too deep and turn the ball over. Joe Baker brings it across the timeline throws it left side. Caleb McConnell's coming to the ball game, He dribbles out front. He dumps it inside the home. Gloria on another whistle, and a foul call is nailed against Rob finishing and the fans didn't like that. Call it off. So finish. He gets his first follow the ball game on, they'll take it out of bounds underneath the basket Clipper Dome over here. He has 6 11 to 40 of freshman from Benton City, Nigeria, and he is a big kid. He's gonna be good. Grace Jackson Davis. That's the out of baby inbound pass out of bounds. And so it'll be inbounded once again by Caleb McConnell Down on the baseline, McConnell looks and dumps it inside again. Trace gets a finger on it Bastard out of bounds and a half two inbound one more time, And now Rutgers is gonna get stuck right in the corner there. It's the hardest place to imbalance the basketball right in the logo. Baseline, right stuck in the corner. Not a lot of places here to pass the ball in the paddle. Looks having trouble lobs it in knocked away while finish. He gets the steal, takes it down the floor, puts it up and cut it on a whistle blew. Let's see whether the shot's gonna count. It's not apparently Rob was found on the court and Geo Baker. Well, I'll see if it's actually him or not. And the solution maker. So Baker is going to be called for the foul. That will be his first and Indiana will have it out of bounds underneath her all basket. 14 11 on the clock. Indiana's up 11 to 7 and Rob finished, he will trigger the inbound play whistle. Another foul car this time it's going to go against, I think, Harper, wait! Take it back. It's McConnell away from the ball donit. If Indiana runs the same out of bounds play here, I don't know that they are. Looks like they're setting up a bit different here. But they were looking for that lot here before the foul calls and about comes to race, then the trace and he gives up the finish He out front. He thieves, Armand, Right back to rob Long. Three on the way off the rim. No good rebound taken by McConnell for Rutgers. He brings it back down the floor, Geo Bake around the dry takes it down on the whole pulls up. And looks that throws it inside a memoria, who dunks it home, and he's got his first two of the game, And now it's a two point contest on my test. Mathis has checked in and he was harassing Finnessey is he got the embattled talk brother down the floor for court. But Rob's across the timeline safely and gives to al Dura. Durham now works outside. It was another whistle close on. This is gonna go against Rutgers. It appears on. I think my test Mathis gets nailed. Rutgers is a physical defense, and this is a good sign here early for Indiana. I think offensively if Indiana get to the free throw line, I'll be able to just cut without Rutgers bumping him because the officials are blowing the whistle like that's gonna be really good sign here for this Indiana offense. Officials are helping out the whose is just a bit inbound comes the race tops of Geronimo is replaced. Trace Jackson Davis. Here's Finnessey Dobson. The quarter to Al makes the three pulls up for a long one from 18 and knocks it in. Now, during gets this part of the ballgame mid range jump shots. I love him here is along with my Harper hey misses the three pointer, but it's pulled out of there by Caleb McConnell. The fan stopped that Indiana was felled underneath. Here's Mathis with the ball gives the Harper hype around the left wing back out to Mathis. It's Joe Baker Baker. Now against Albert Baker. Slides tries to get a screen works to the right pulls up. Let's go a drive. Step back three. And it's no.

"Of volunteers have participated will be sure to share that with you and others and Cheryl that good. Good work with everyone. We do also share our beach cleanup statistics with Ocean Conservancy, which is an international organisation that organizes the international coastal cleanup every September So the steps from our beach clamps will be entered into that international database, which is pretty cool. I think it touched on this a little bit earlier. But when people volunteer, and they they head out for their project, what do you recommend that they take with them? And do you provide any supplies? Yeah, we recommend that volunteers come to the event prepared by dressing layers and bring their own snacks and water. Solve. Those provides supplies at the events when they check in, so we'll distribute viol gloves and some heavy duty plastic bags. If you have those items at home, we encourage you to bring your own gloves whether they're guarding her work, love. And in general, just prepared toe know, make a difference and help take care of Oregon, with the wildfires being so wide spread around Oregon on I know this is the projects here a few weeks away before they know they start. But do you anticipate the wildfires will have an effect. We know that they'll have an affect ER have been a few projects that have already canceled in communities that have been affected by the fires. And we just encourage volunteers to register online and that way they'll be in touch with us as any changes that may occur to any Project's so if there are cancellations, they'll get word of that right away. You had to make a lot of changes in your plans because of covert 19. And now the wildfires. That must be nice to finally have the cleanup arrived. I'm really looking forward to the beach and Riverside clean up this year. It's been A long summer and I think We've all really enjoyed many of the states. Natural places and kind of love them to death this summer, So I'm looking forward to joining together with hundreds of volunteers across the state to take place you know, to take care of such a special place. John went to tell us one more time with the dates are and how people can sign up. Turn off the beach and Riverside cleanup will be from Saturday, September 19th through Sunday, October 4th. You want to find a project? The best way to do it would be to go to solve Oregon dot or G, and look up the beach and Riverside cleanup. John. Thanks for joining us. That's John Smith, the program and education manager for Solved on the beach and Riverside Cleaner way. Oregon Health Authority is partnering with the Oregon Department of Education and Lines for Life, the launch suicide prevention and wellness programs in schools. Joe Baker, the Oregon health authorities, suicide. Invention coordinator joins US, Jill This program is based on work from the Oregon Legislature to bill specifically one with Senate Bill 52 named Addy death that was legislations. Required all school district or again having a suicide prevention, intervention and post tension. That's after a suicide death. Um I have a plan for each of those categories in place by the start of the school year. Then the second is around the students Success Act. That is. There's a section called Section 36 that legislation that talks about Stacy, including wellness, suicide prevention and holding those two pieces of legislation are kind of what are the drivers for this? Oh, Graham. So there apparently to different parts of the program, Suicide prevention and the wellness program positions. Why don't you tell us about those now we're very excited about this. This is something that we're not aware of any other state doing on. So although organ was very slow and getting a table on Require a little district of a suicide prevention plan. We feel really good about the about the plan and throwing them out. So what we have is regional folk who will be housed at educational service district of those air groups of school district. Around state of war again that are to provide support school district writing Those fans, including some funding for purchasing curriculum, or whatever whatever support the school needs to be able to get their suicide prevention program off the ground. And these these positions are folks that are going to be stained in student wellness in Boeing prevention and suicide prevention. And we're recruiting so currently and so you know, somebody who is awesome in any of those areas would be glad to see their resumes what will be involved in the programs that they helped develop? So the pearl legislation and at exact we'll just have to have certain components. And there's suicide prevention planning for all grades K through 12, including figuring out How when and how you serving in the whole system needs to be trained and so.

"Show is on the air. We just had an interesting chat with Joel Klatt. You know it's funny when I when I was getting ready to talk with him obviously I was going to go and Daniel Jones Direction Daniel Jones because he was so vehement that the giants overdrafted Emmett six and said it would set the franchise back here's the entire first round would set them back years and I honestly thought that the that would be the NFC east quarterback back that would be front and center in our conversation and yet he was the one that said that based on the people that he talks to in Washington Washington that Dwayne Haskins split the room. The drafting of Dwayne Haskins split the room and Matt essentially the coaches didn't want him can you cut-backs soundbite Chris Brockman and put it in your news update coming up in the middle of this this hour workplace as Great Billy Bob Thornton Academy Award Winners GonNa Stroll in studio our number three the eagles really put the bang thing on on on the packers throughout much of the night despite giving up almost five hundred yards of offense rogers was lit. He was just on fire last night the MVP Arron Rogers Rogers thrown on the Ron throwing people open throwing a people open throwing off the run because people couldn't be covered because he extended the play running it himself he was is a leading rusher for the team last night. Dropping dimes also putting it up where only his guys like Geronimo Alison could make a play it was a third and ten from midfield right before halftime to try and answer the Eagles Eagles sacked him forced a fumble went up eight then green bay got Aaron Rodgers elite deluxe in other words the usual two who plays later from fifty yards out touchdown just exactly what they needed to make it a game but the eagles kept strong save their opportunity to win the division because three losses before week five with the way the cowboys are looking. That wasn't gonNA be any E. That'd be no Bueno meanwhile while that was all going on Chris. Brockman was celebrating the fact that Navy did not covering its Memphis watching the game on ESPN last Navy did cover all they did cover twelve and a half by twelve. I don't understand these gambling. Thank you and that game was called as a as. There's an eye college. Football is called by one of our favorite humans on the planet. He's a great American. He's he's America's sweetheart and also the host of the PAT McAfee show on disown and Westwood One every single day from ten. AM The noon eastern time he's becoming a brand people see him get up as a matter of fact. He's I see him on get up when Rex Ryan's running his mouth his name is Pat McAfee here on the rich Eisen Show Harry Patrick. We're at some fantastic that intro intro just you know tickled me and all the right place can't thank you enough for allowing me a little time on the air. You always have a spot here. You know that you know that Sir Cert- did I miss anything. You've got a podcast to write the PAT McAfee show two point. Oh you've got that working as well yeah too much of me right now. Rich I think even my mom's uh-huh about sick of me but I am having quite a fall we also obviously have a small business over here in Indianapolis where we sell some merch and do a little bit of stuff with the WWe WWe a lot of people are questioning whether or not I'm going to survive through December. We'll see I'm really testing the limit of humans at this moment but it's been a fun fall far rich had it's the marathon not a sprint and you're a marathon runner. I know that deep down inside deep down inside strip away the punting and kicking in the comedy and and and all that you're you've got the heart of a marathoner earth honor you got it. You've got this thing just way rich. I'm a sprinter in every aspect of life drinking kicking you name it. I am a sprinter but let's hope the marathon thing really adapts to me now that I'm thirty two and getting older open happened. I've told you this. I've told you this off off air. I'll say it here again on the air. You just be keep being you and you're you're. You're GONNA be just fine and here's a perfect example because this is you. This was a total you when rex it's Ryan went down went down the path on the Cleveland browns on get up the other day and your reaction was what we call priceless. I have back them. Jarvis Landry Niche in this Baker Mayfield Yeah No. He's overrated as hell but I like this. Here's the the team knows you know tackles. W went double. Whoa pat you went double o there yeah listen I respect the hell out of Rex Ryan I think since he's gotten on TV to his teeth or fantastic he's got a magnetic Tan? I like the fact that Rex Ryan family is one of the greatest football families in the history of football. I respect everything he says but man that shot Joe Baker Mayfield came out of left field and I just couldn't help myself I mean obviously I have no couth boost. People know that that's why the NFL refused to let it'd be Coney Games this year very thankful that ESPN did but in those studios shows. I don't know what I'm supposed to talk to when I'm not supposed to talk and I just couldn't let it happen like Whoa. The wait a minute Rex Ryan. Let's not be buried in a guy just because he shotguns beers at baseball games eighty drives around on power recliners with stone in Cold Steve Austin and he's already in commercials and all this. I don't think we can call guy overrated yet. He's only seventeen games into this thing I and it blew my mind and now it's a talking point throughout the entire week. I could have never guessed it. I was mind blown. I was baffled rich and that was just a very natural reaction listening to my brain's go right out of my mouth when I probably wasn't supposed to talk no but I think most people had that reaction because no one was calling him overrated last year and he's still the same guy. The question is what is up with the Browns Pat. Do you have a theory on that subject. I think it's one of those things where you get new weapons. You get new toys. There's a new head coach and Freddie Kitchens has been around Baker since the beginning Drew Stanton also a veteran backup quarterback has been in that offense a meeting room room and quarterback room helping out with the play designs and play calls but I think you're still a lot of feeling out period and the thing with Freddie Kitchens is whenever you get somebody like Odell Beckham on your team. You feel obligated to try and make it happen for him but I think he comes from that Bruce Arians offensive mind and I got a chance to watch this with Andrew Luck whenever he was was young. It's a big time no risk it no biscuit type operation. You're gonNA have your quarterback. Sit back there. There's going to be a lot of route ten plus yards down the field so you kinda gotTA. Let them happen up and let the place happen. It's something that can pop off deep but if you don't have an offensive line and granted there's no offensive line. That can really stop Aaron. Donald I mean the guy is a genetic creek and a monster but your quarterback start feeling the pressure a little bit. You'RE GONNA out of those places. You don't get your ass kicked on national television and I think right now they're still we're trying to feel it out. There are still trying to figure it out for the nine. Draw call definitely suspect I think everybody would argue that but I think Baker's big time momentum uh-huh guys a big time low Joe Guy and I think once they hit a sink they have a real chance but the the overrated comment. Hey we're seventeen games into this thing I think peyton manning had had no less than one hundred fifty interceptions in his first seventeen games and he turned out to be pretty good and so that was my reaction to that but I think the browns have a chance to turn things around around and I also enjoy in like the fact that Odell Beckham Junior for everything that's ever happened to him and said about him. From proposing kickin nets to all all the other stuff that happens off the field he had the chance to really turn into a pre Madonna after that I mean and I think a Lotta people expect that whenever you're only targeted one time in the last four series stories of very close game not targeted at all and I go situation and instead he took the High Road I. I think they really believe in themselves over there. I think they just need to get a little open a momentum Mojo find rhythm and I think whenever that happens they're going to be okay but you gotta remember this franchise. They couldn't even drink bud light for the last year. They were locked up. They got to win a bakers to work to do what they're doing. Baker's the want to unlock the to Pat McAfee and you know the issue is for the browns is this is not the week to get back on. They're going to go into Baltimore and I think they're gonNA get thumped. I really believe that I love the Ravens and the Ravens last week went ahead and to Kansas City and was going Ford on on for two point conversions like it was going out of style there there were analytics their heads off and they just you know got got mahomes. I mean I think a a lot of people are finding out. They're going to get mahomes and now the ravens are going to perhaps handed to the browns. That's my my prediction for this weekend. You know I don't think that's going to happen if they're passing the ball forty three times though with Lamar and I enjoy listening to Lamar Jackson talk about how he hates running and I think that's a smart removed by the way because history tells us that quarterback that are a lot of running normally don't last long. I enjoyed watching the mark the first couple of weeks. He passed the Ball Twenty Bowl all twenty times. The first week had a perfect passer rating. Everybody was like wait. A minute is running back has become a precision passer then the next week. He passed it thirty seven times in his last week forty forty three times because they thought they had to keep up with the homes. I think Lamar Jackson and Greg Groman are still trying to figure out what all they can do and what they can't do but I like that Ravens team. I like the defense. I like the toughness in the attitude not only of the organization but the city. I think it's GonNa be a very tough game but that's another. AFC North game now that's a big time game mm for the browns. I wouldn't rule them out of it. I think they have a chance but I do like what the Ravens have been doing as well Pat McAfee here on the rich Eisen show which which which eighteen three hundred eighty. What do you think one that you you're like by it just yet they just off to a good start but he got from me so we have to undefeated games James going on you know this weekend and I think the chiefs and Patch? We're going to be tough to stop regardless but I liked it. The bills in Lyons now granted tie game. He's one of the most embarrassing things happen in American history. I think anybody that was part of that. Game would tell you that in in our sport but I think I asked the question Russian on my show which team is more likely to get the home upset that both home dog bills or the Detroit lion what he got from Pan and I and I believe and even more so now after last night Tom Brady liked the video from the NFL network saying that the bills are going to get upset by the Patriots. Tom Brady rides off of that type of stuff if somebody says something bad about him he's GonNa target them. Tom Brady is this guy who forever forever has been building this legacy now. It's like he's on a victory lap and it seems like it's Never GonNa end somehow. They lose GRONK. Tom Turned Sixty and they've gotten even better defenses. This is unstoppable so I don't think the bills have any shot against the Patriots. It's actually one of my locks is the patriots minus seven and a half but I think the lions can keep a close with the chief strictly because like what Matt Patricia has built in the culture that has been being built inside of the Lions Locker Room last year. There was a lot of conversation comes. Matt Patricia has lost the Locker Room. Matt Patricia can't rally the troops mattress what broke Zenko towards Achilles. Whatever the hell it was on applaud this off season now he's rolling around on a little scooter thing and that seems seems to be even yeah? Matty Stafford's been protected. I think they have a chance to keep a close for me. I think the buffalo bills are the team that I love watching their fans perform before games like watching them have a little bit of success I I liked the thought of dildos getting tossed on the field but for me I think the buffalo bills are about to turn into a little bit of a downfall and it's going to start with Tom. Brady in handsome Julian Leeann adamant. I think Pat McAfee giving his picks including all the intangibles here on the rich Eisen Show Pat McAfee show so you said this on the Pat McAfee v. show the PAT McAfee showed two point on get up I don't I can't I can't figure I can't follow it anymore. Pat Your your branding ear. It's it's all for the brand..

"Change that for you man along with that information is power right. The power series that that ground just got done doing <hes> was huge you just you approach every relationship differently you know and you have to. It's you're never done right. You're on this journey. You gotta constantly possibly catch yourself and remind yourself of this but <hes> love is hard right like loving in people where they're at is hard not picking sides is hard. Not You know making a you know like good people bad had people you know kind of thing and and not using power to affect outcomes letting go of outcomes trusting outcomes comes to God just loving people where they're at doing that with your kids. Yes like wait wait. You're you're telling me that I'm supposed to like no not care about you know what might choose to do well. No you exert here but but like how are are you house you entering into this situation from physician of power going to grow them into a better human being and dozen right and so it has disaffected <hes>. It's harder to parent right because there's times when you just WanNa like you reach your limit and you just WanNa go okay now. I'M GONNA to raise my voice. We all had to do this role of the Dad. WE HAVE MOM boy. We all hit that point where like okay you've reached my threshold now I'm going to set love aside engage power income after you and and they know how to respond right they like something clicks on their brain and they go okay Mama Daughter mad but now and now I have to you know lottery whatever right and changing that is hard mm-hmm because I don't want to do that. Don't want them to respond the man one of the I don't want people my kids or anybody else <music> to respond to be in such way that they're worried about. What if they don't you're right like oh I better do would fill thanks phil asks or filled filled with one or else what that is that is power not love right right and <hes> man man that's hard? It's hard to figure out how to do that at work which actively trying to work through difficulties at work trying to figure out like okay was loved. Look like in this situation when people aren't doing what you want them to do and you have deadlines and you have all these pressures right and we're a lot of times he's like I feel the transition in myself and I imagine a lot of people relate like we're really good at being nice gentleman and and whatnot and tell their the deadline gets closer. Oh Sir you the rubber meets the road right and then it's like okay well that didn't work on the set that aside right it's time to bring out the power version right because this is what gets things done and you can be very effective with power. You can get a lot of stuff done and you will leave a trail of you know burn bridges and broken people and hurt feelings and everything the trail that is going to take time to clean up leader so <hes> man. It's just given so you know there's a reason why you go through the fuse to the spirit of kindness gentleness self control patients like if there's a theme here it's not not just like one or two of these things right. They broke the spread that aspect that posture over so many of these things because love is hard because you have to be patient. Love is hard too because you have to let go of outcomes loves hard is because you can't seek to control you can't control someone and love them at the same time and <hes> <hes> but it's and we get this little tinge inside of stone the only this is I see you doing wrong. I WanNa tell you that you're doing doing Rome and really want to tell you this. Love says that I've got to ask you why what's going on underneath the you know can can can you explain screens and things to me in getting upset with they do right yeah. Well and there's you know there's a bit of profited knees as teachers. There's you know there's a lot of that and what I learnt. One of the most biggest Cairo says that I had coming out of my year with gravity was that I I was stealing other people's Kyros because I could see just like you. I know you you know me right. You're both good at this right. We could see yeah we can kind of see the Kyros flooding about people's heads before it hits them Cairo's for everybody else. Just just in case is a moment when the kingdom seems to be breaking the when God seems to right trying to communicate with us the Holy Spirit is trying to say something to this person and their ability to perceive their ability to accept it their ability to to you know that's where that's where the work is right figuring out that and <hes> but there's this truth that you can see like like all we are now seeing and the Lord revealed to me that I was <hes> too quick to say well. Here's what you're missing and do spell it out for them and in so doing nothing that I well. It's my opinion right in whether it's Holy Spirit you got it or not. You know that's will figure that out later in that'll play itself out as to whether or not it was right but like if I take that into my my own hands and spit that <music> out right then it's not what the Lord was trying to tell them right it's <unk> Phil trying to tell them and and who which one of these people would you rather hear from right so do offense right so what you were just talking about is so true. There's Times win. <hes> love says you got to let this person to kind of figure this out not because you're taking a posh like well yeah good luck with that. They'll figure it out. It's not it's not that it's not it's not you know like okay. You made your bed. Go sleep ending. It's a man I want them to hear this truth truth <hes> come from to whisper to them from the Holy Spirit because if they hear it from God and they feel view it from God and they they know that it was revealed to them. It's transformative it is it's way more transformation than it is here from Phil or Stew or for for me all right but yes right so what's that mean it means you have to throw away. Efficiency immediately have to throw a timelines. He means you have to like pond on effectiveness activeness more so it feels right really not but it means you have to surrender the timeline for growth right and say in God's time I'm not M._I._T.. Route and it's not about counting heads in Hudson chairs and all that stuff because it it's just GonNa take you have to got his how patient has <unk> out with us right right right. Yeah we use this this metaphor. It's it's a crock pot not wave and in what I mean me you know if if you're into cooking all which I know you totally are but if you're if you're cooking low and slow produces some of this you know some of the best senior so good yeah but if you microwaved at saint piece of Meat Mrs can be hard and leathery yeah. It's going to be cool and the faster you try to go. The worst result is exactly yeah and and so the that's the that's the idea is gossip lowdown. Okay let me look. There's a lot more here. There's a long time to break this. There's there's more there's something more important to God than efficiency. There's is there authenticity is more important <hes> and and people coming to those Cairo says on their own is more important to have a longer better <hes> <hes> longer term result you know <hes> and God doesn't violate our agency right he hit. He could've snapped his fingers. That was was one of the temptations of the desert base is hey. You know we can make we we had a quick fix or not to suffer right. It can make everybody come bow down before you right and we are all Americans especially right. We're all about efficiency and going fast and getting work done. Let's make this happen. We're going to be the first right we've gotta get in responsible responsible for this to get this done and even in disciple and we have to be careful because we can make we can do the same like I remember. We had this conversation at one of the marketing things. There's this aspect of this deciphering thing that has like multiplication into thing feels like multi level marketing the right pyramid marketing something like hey you know you disciple somebody and then they disciple people in each of those people's and like the American efficiency she mind can latch onto that and I get it I know how to do. This is our ship thing. It's just this like no. It's not about efficiency and it's just it happens happens to be that multiplication but it also happens to take quite a bit of time right. I remember remember US having that conversation about the same time that <hes> <hes> I was talking to Joe Baker. Joel Joel actually talked a little bit about this in his sermon yesterday <hes> so that should give you a time Marquez doing In some of their friends and disciples and I remember having a conversation with him saying I've finished the curriculum now what as it will didn't they need to practice. What what you've shown them? He's like you're right. I know we brainstorm some ideas and <hes> and he's he decided said that he was going to go with round two as we call it <hes> with another group of kids that he would teach along with these guys so they get some experience and I breath on the time it is going to take forever. You and I had that call the beginnings of that conversation. That's the point is take your time yeah and let it develop a now sue with students. That's how we do it is if a student is invited into <hes> into a huddle. Oh Yeah what happens is that for two years the part of it and you're one. Is it your first time. Your accounting for the first time onto is after that. Can I say something on behalf of you in pastors everywhere because I mean you guys you have a tough job right and I think it's it's <hes> <hes> it's got. I gotTA imagine that it'd be really really hard to be in business. Because this is your vocation we paid to do resilient honest right and you're literally like hired. You go to work every day <hes> thinking in believing in feeling like you're supposed to change lives making <unk> terminate people around and it's got to be incredibly difficult to not get anxious especially as a prophet about you know oh how fast the process is going and how how quickly you would like to see good things happen in people's lives right and it can just imagine it would just be a renaissance difficult sometimes the pace the things go and and how would be if you if you don't minister industry to that and you don't recognize that and and keep that kind of at the forefront right that can materialize itself in some very unhealthy Morongo front in in pastors in the pulpit think we see that is that their impatience comes out and it's not that they they still mean well right right. I've heard so many pastors give sermons where I can just tell they're frustrated. They're frustrated that people aren't listening to them. They're not going as fast yes. They're not signing up for not plugging in right and and I get it you know I just WanNa say to you into passers. Yeah I get it right. It's gotTa be very frustrating but at the same time like <hes> doesn't you know help right you know to try to pressure people all into being some place else on their journey where they're actually in. That's kind of the point right that that's the less if I'm talking about the integrated life it for me because you ask you but for me. It's it's it's just that it's stop slowdown. Watch this develop though slower than and you think but practice love in the midst of that right practice in that's something that I've that I've I've honestly had to work on because I do want to hate them. Go and you know and I'm not just profit most one apostle holy cow yeah right. We just getting man. Let's let's get going and I have have to step back and I have to <hes> and I have to wait to watch listen in listening to listening to people's stories is where the holy early spirit has shown me that pace that rhythm and being able to sit and listen and okay. I see God at work in you and I can see maybe where where he's going to lead Gen and that's really cool. Is this the privilege now they get to watch yeah and and so I I mean I've experienced a tiny bit of that. The reason I bring that up is because I know you express a whole lot more but like you know I'm disciples somebody right now and I'm Australia two years I._B._M.. Significantly invested right multiple your process and there's fruit right and it's good but you know there's a reason why the patient is the very first love is patient right. I Corinthians thirteen right. There's a reason why it starts out there and it's so good. The transformation is happening but it it just the wounds were deep and they just take time. There's work there during the the the idea that we want it now and and yet it does I'm reminded of Peter in the garden with Jesus and he pulled a sword outright went after Jesus no the sword. It's different any heels in the midst of that he he'll the the the guard you know in that to me is the picture of how we begin to live this out and you don't quite understand the process but trust me. It's going be a lot better than what you think John Wait look worse for a little while <hes> but trust me in stick with me. It's going to get better. I think let me come back to the integrated life thing <hes> one of the things I tell my kids all the time and this is kind of really help them as I mean people enter and exit their lives whenever rate hurting people hurt people right and I think <hes> grace prepared me for the discipleship things that we've been you know we didn't have a large focus on discipleship in my last church.

"I will read everything on the cork board or the cereal box here saying you relate to this. I read every word that's around me. It's what when I got sick. I surgically it was actually became a problem because now I could see everywhere. And so I had headaches like the first few weeks that I had because I was reading words that I used to not be able to see. That's awesome. Ridiculous. Manny. Okay. So it's a habit. Yeah. For some people more than others. I think it is just a habit. It's something you, do you read all the words around you and you always read, and you will find something to fill that gap, even if it's like the triple a newspaper that came in the mail, you would rather read that made nothing. But there are other people who finished a great book, and they're like, I'm out of great books. Oh, well, yeah. And then they fall out of habit. But if you have a great book, well, a great book, meaning a book that you are excited to dive into waiting on deck. Then you don't stop and you keep reading. What's the balance for you of taking in a book versus TV versus Instagram? Ooh, okay. I kinda hate the you ask me this, because I think it's gonna make me sound like a snob. No, no, no. I need you to tell me snobby the answer because I used to read a whole lot more before I had Instagram. That's so interesting, which is so embarrassing because I write books for my job. But it's true. Well, people talk about the TV versus reading thing all the time, but they don't talk as. Much about the, t the Instagram versus reading. Okay. I only said that because I am a woman who has kids and is they get older like they stay up as late, as you do, which is. I mean I love them. God bless. I'm so glad my life and I'm so. I watched so many old episodes of the office. And with such delight man, I have so many friends who rerun the office like crazy. That is like therapy. Yeah. Okay. I was just talking with a friend about how I might be ready to start re watching the west wing and the very beginning all the. Yeah. Because what, what is it? That is attractive as attractive to you about the west wing as a novel. It's good storytelling. Have that's what our friend Lisa Joe Baker would say she is like such a fan of his writing. "The Rutgers basketball post game show begins now. Back here at the rack senior night final home game of the twenty eighteen nineteen season. And a crushing loss for Rutgers. Who nearly came back from twenty down in the second half wound up losing to Penn State, sixty six sixty five Jerry Recco. Joe Boylan with you from the rack, and I'll tell you this Joe, Joe Baker goes scoreless tonight. And he had a look from three that would've put Rutgers ahead with seconds to go know what you love about the kid. You're watching him after the game. And he looks like he is physically hurt by the loss. Yes. And you can see it on his face. And it means that much to him. Yup. And I just loved that compete level for all of them, of course. But I'm singling out him because he had a tough night. And you see him on the board at the end. And as the players are facing the students, and you can just see how much it means to him. And you know, this is a tough one Rutgers had a chance to sweep Penn State this year. You give Penn State a ton of credit because they played a remarkable first half, but an renders match that in the second half. And in the second half they start out to pressure. Did they did? So it wasn't like and Rutgers as scores. Penn State, forty six to twenty nine in the second half and. You know after that geo Baker blocked in Penn State gets the ball then Rutgers makes great play stealing the ball up to get back and having an opportunity at several opportunities down one that just could not get it done in Penn State. A key block inside on the right hand side. We look like Rutgers you stick the ball back in just an incredible effort by this team. Just would not quit every time. Rutgers got within ten Penn State would hit a three get it back to thirteen. Yeah. And the ball bounced around a couple of times right back to Penn State knocking down three breeze had a big free from the left corner. And then Rutgers decide they clamped down. They outscore Penn State ten to one to get it back the opportunity to win the game. So a terrific effort. And right.

I think we were twenty eight three and at that point in the year before that game with Dunbar, we were twenty nine and one. So we allow confidence and all those guys had played together during the summertime, and we had our guys primarily coming out of Madison rack on the east side Ross and Reggie Lewis. And all those people they were coming basically from the west side of Baltimore. But they were always playing against each other. So it wasn't. It wasn't somebody or a game that somebody was going to lose a lot of sleep over. I mean we were pumped because we thought we were the better team. But I was something that we didn't worry about we wanted to play 'em. And they wanted to play us, and let's get after it. How hard was it to write about it was hard to convey? I don't think that the program would have gotten off the ground for a long time. You are serious about making your team's fitter than the opponent. You're going to wear them down. One of your quotes in your book is therapy for me as running a half marathon. So you expected your guys to be able to go that kind of distance. I believe in that. I think to me and my my philosophy is defense is going to win games. I mean, everybody everybody's gonna score points. He was a wonderful man who's really funny, you know, he was also very good artist. He wrote, yes, children's books, l'estrange. And he was just, he was just to delight. And I wanted him to be my next film in the distinguished gentleman and. He said, I, you shooting in Baltimore ago. He lived in Bolton. I said, no, we shot some of the distinguished gentleman billable for Kalama buildings, but no was shooting in Georgia. He said, no. Shame. Such a wonderful button Jeff team. I could have watched ten more movies with just the two of them they would going face to face. Yes, yeah. And distinguished gentleman relationship offscreen did they had onscreen? Yes. Yeah. I wanna recommend distinguished gentleman too because Fred Gwynne or listeners for years, I think he was like really embarrassed by being Herman Munster, and yet he lives on and and it was because on the opening day, his first shot, I think he felt that's what I wanted because that's what everyone wanted from him. And he did his first few lines of the judge like home and Munster, and I was absolutely horrified. And so I called a a coffee break, said everyone off the set. Fred said, Fred, that's not what's happening. And he said, oh, I thought that's what you wanted. And I said, no, definitely note, I want you to, you know, acted. He had ranged. Oh problem for him. He just assumed he was so tired of amounts of. That's what everybody had him for for men and great in the role. I must say the way you cast your films and I was watching distinguished gentlemen this week too, and that cast to Joe Baker and garner and and Sheryl Lee, Ralph games, Ghana was such a gentleman. He was quite elderly and he was, we took pains to not ask him to this that now call him in the morning if you're gonna use him till later in the day because there's no fat. So we called him at seven o'clock in the morning, and then the weather changed and it was clearly couldn't use him till noon also. So I went to him, went his trailer to apologize and he wasn't SO. I found him having coffee on the set with the electrician's and and I said, I'm really sorry. We're not gonna get to you until later in the day. I'm sorry, we called his. He said that fine. I. I act for fun. I get paid for waiting about that. That's great. That's great. Another very well cast movie. Thank you by the way and another movie of yours. That's about something about lobbyists and campaign finance reform got through its, oh, come true. Yeah, Eddie Murphy was great enough Gilbert's old friend. Oh yeah. They were on SNL together. I loved what he with Eddie. Oh, yeah. And and we worked together in Beverly Hills cop to a right? Yeah. Yeah. A lot of fun. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I also shout out to the late great lane Smith since we're talking about both of both of those movie. Yeah, Vinnie and and distinguished gentlemen, let's ask you quick. I also want to recommend to our listeners greedy, which is a lot of fun. I'm you're in it. I'm very proud of greedy. Oh, that was another one that didn't do well at the box office when it opened. Well, Michael FOX had done three previous the, his free previous films have flopped. So the the studio decided to try and disguise the fact he was in it. Always name with very small on the on the on the one sheet. And you know they, they didn't really, and he was very, very good in cast his grade. It opens with Durante tribute. Yeah, the cost is the cost of great horned extraordinary. I didn't know at the time hit already been diagnosed with pockets season. He he kept from me which made it very hard some days because he found some moves that would be relatively simple for thirty two year old actor. He found inexplicably hard. I couldn't understand why. So he he was having trouble physically, oh yes. I didn't know that he disguised at very, very well. The scene where he and Kirk Douglas, reenact the Durante dance from his childhood. Farewell. Wonderful. That took a lot of takes beautiful, didn't get it right. Although it was not very difficult night. Couldn't understand why he couldn't until afterwards..

Haven't seen anything from him yet So until, I see something we, saw it with breakfast we saw a decline We saw it with Peyton Manning and it was perceptible you could see it I can't say that. I've seen anything. From top lady that says, he's slowing down to forty, one that's fair enough If not the patriots then who in the AFC well. I think if If, the Shawn Watson Play sixteen games with that six game. Stretch resolve last year those. Guys on defense play I, would say they have a chance I think Jacksonville is. The odds on favourite, I mean they had the patriots down twenty, to ten last year in the fourth quarter the. NFC championship. Game could put them away A lot of. Teams can't put the patriots way but Jacksonville didn't get worse this all sees those young players are defense Jalen Ramsey Calvin. Snatching you know those guys up front I mean they're real and. They remind me of weight Seattle start putting together a championship run for five, years in a row and were the favorites. In the NFC every year and so I'd say Jacksonville is probably the best team that content. We, got to see what Pittsburgh does valid and how they pick their defense which doesn't look like, a championship level defense but I would, say Jacksonville is the number one contender to dealing with like a fair, enough I this is a, an opinion question that you surely have formulated because you've been around enough teams benign teams, covered teams and the like. League these days, it's a fool's errand somewhere in between I know again I give you, a pass undefinitive statements. Because it changes from the team, demon situation to situation I'm just asking for the ball the general overall outlook on. Quarterbacks in their first year in the NFL None of them already but the only way you get better by play So it's hard to win games with a rookie quarterback, we have seen that, although Matt Ryan took his. Team to, play off, it's Joe flacco eight Manny in the. Second year I mean Carson Winston. The second years look like the MVP, I think. It's better to play I know all of the. Things air Roger city I go all the things that sort of that but I believe the only get better by playing Jody and I know, watching and learning that first year red-shirted guys a popular thing to say but you never. Know what these guys gonna do until they get a chance to play we shall watch last year and become, savage what the job the preseason. And you, know to series into this I'll? Watch it taking over, form you're like how did you this guy's wedding And he was elected that's his ready but he was electrifying performances in Seattle that nobody had ever done before it gets so seeks so, I believe in playing these guys and that I think the more and more ready now. "And then they said, get Steven, Steven, and Steven comes running over and I'm staring the crowd down and it was. It was quite something. The French using so uptight. We didn't think anything could happen after that. Debbie as great as that moment and believe me. We knew that we then had not come to fail. We had come to win and we, we were winning. You have to take me back. You have to take me back fade and I took a backstage, meet the girls. And of course the died. They were so inspired that they mitt, Joe Baker and Joseph being with saying, oh my God, this is I'm so proud of everyone. 'cause she's originally American and of caller and to see these girls do what they did and how how they were showcase. It meant everything. So the Americans they've won back Josephine Baker and they've shown the French that they're not just copycats that you know, they actually have something original to bring to the table. How did you feel after the show drying Drying up. up. Ron told me I may beautiful clothes. What did that mean to you? If Saint Laurent telling you that you may beautiful close? It made my trip. So if you're thinking about it like a battle than it seems like the Americans, so like what did you notice as far as immediate responses? Like how was it talked about in the media. You may have been a little blurb in womenswear to society page, but that's about as funds and win. It was a great thing that we went over and did it, and then we came back, they said, yeah, yea right on clap, clap. And then you went back to your job. Damn. Yeah, that's rough man. It is rough, but slowly like in the month after that all of a sudden these black models start working where in France or Europe, they had never seen so many black girls in one place at the same time performing and especially in the fashion show. There are a lot of girls who became like amuses for European designers like she. Yeah, actor. He saw those girls at the precise show. He likes started booking them for his shows. He added. Entire like group, they called the bean. His whole bean was like like air because they have the sauce. 'cause they had the sauce. So like they started getting work. And then after that, you know, you have models like Iman. I know him on. Yes, Beverly Johnson, Naomi Campbell, Veronica Webb, and Beth, like she got a lot more work after the battle of the model of color was recognized in a proper way. So there's a lot that happened from that show that was more than you know, just going and winning and walking away and that's deep considering not many people actually knew that this thing happened. Exactly. But the thing is, you know, that bump in popularity. It only lasted until like the mid nineties, like fashion is all about trends. And for a while, black models were like all the rage. But then you know, in the nineties, the eastern European look starts to become more popular and like heroin chic, which is basically just Kenny white people. Oil and they, they openly called the heroine sheet. It was called here when she can questionable. Yeah, that became the trendy thing and like the black cool look. It kinda fell on style, but what happened to Stephen Burrows? So Stephen Burrows, you know, he's still designing now, but the height of his career. What pretty much happened in the seventies by kind of sucks. He's he's, he was on track to be like the man. Yeah. I mean, the thing that really gets me is like this show like the battle of her side like it was. It was huge, you know? So you would think that like a whole bunch of other black designers would come after him. Do you know what I mean? And also be able to make it really big. But I mean, don't get me wrong. There are quite a few black designers that are making high fashion and doing really amazing things. But like there aren't as many as I think that there should be that have really big careers. You know what I'm saying? Like there's no, there's no one having. Like that. Battle of verse high moment. You know what I'm saying?.

"Top paid level it doesn't work you're taking money from other players you're you're handcuffing your organization into getting better at other positions because they're paying you to be a lead at yours and you're not elite anymore and the one thing i hope most of us can agree on is whether you like renault he's not elite anymore if he ever was he certainly not elite now joe and a hand in connecticut is next on the fan joe baker sorry good what's up tim fame here with praise here i i i think it's crazy to trade him for for coal you gotta remember they traded andrew miller who was under contract to get clint frazier i mean that's a big thing to give up so now if you get garrick call you might as well of just kept yvonne i mean nova pitch better in pittsburgh than cold did last year even though his his record wasn't as good as earned run average was better i mean cole is just he thought worth clint freight yeah i i is that because because you don't value way they might i mean and and it let's zana why would you you understand that of course you don't understand it because if you don't value garrod coal the way the anc he's might and i don't know that they do is are just rumors right now but if they value garrick cold much more than you do like look i in a sunny graze a great example i really like sunny gray i think it was a good pick up i think yankee fans will come to appreciate sunny gray this year obviously if he stays healthy that goes without saying but i could be wrong right i mean but that's the point i like sunny gray a lot so i love having sunny gray on this team other yankee fans aren't so sure they're really art and gary cohn would be the same there'd be people that would be really high on them like i am on sunny greying and and other people really like man i don't wanna become a very cool so that's what makes a horse race you know that's what makes it fun sweeney joins us coming up whether you play baseball football basketball or hockey or just wants them from the comfort of your own.
