"It's not maybe one i would macon made. I don't know if i'd be that brave to make that move. But but andy. Reid was. And i think it's a credit to him that he was you know had the the chutzpah to do it. And the chiefs suffered without matthew especially for staff i again. I'm eager to talk to steve spagnolo on thursday. I can already predict how this is gone down. I'm going to ask about last game. He's gonna get confused because he's so forward thinking he's always said that i don't even think about last game and get the coordinators until thursday. So i'm going to try to preface it if you listened to from the podium. You'll hear me as i try. Practice it on thursday coach. I know you're thinking about the ravens but could you dial back and tell me what you did against the cleveland browns. In the second half. Because i'm i'm curious in his words. What adjustments day made because without matthew because it was a lot more successful as we saw in the second half andy. Reid also discussed the run game. There was one weakness to the offense on sunday. Was the run game. Clyde as you mentioned he rushed fourteen times for forty three yards which i use the calculator on. This is about three yards per attempt. Here was andy reid. Yeah just the the physical part of it revealed defense line. They were rolling. They're pretty good first. Half and i just saw that we needed Bear down just a little bit more with our with our young offense align and give them an opportunity to you know. Establish something there. There was strong and so decided to run the football Them option come off and worth the physical part of the game over more. And as you would hear my question was okay. How would you say the offensive line. Did in the run game. Here's read again. Well i thought. I thought we came off and we got bodies. Somebody's that's all. We did a pretty good job with that And then i think we've got to just coordinate a little bit more with the line and then the running back and and and how. They're going about their business together. I think that becomes important. The runner can runners can set things up. Better the o. Line these to have an idea where that idea of what to run back trying to get done with his partner. And so i've got to make sure i get that straightened out As we go when between anti-hacking greg that group right there as a pretty good understanding of a lot of As running backs on offense lineman within that group so a confidence auger take care of. So i think some growing pains here with the offensive line and the run game and that is to be expected. Not only when. It's three rookies which we've talked about ad nauseam here on this network but also in the sense that while orlando brown and joe tuni are world class at what they do. This is five new players playing with one another and they're not only playing with one another there also playing with a new running back and so andy reid happy. It sounds like with the one on one contact but they just need to get in sync with the movement of edwards allaire and so this is a work in progress. And i think we'll see this have more success as we go jock. I completely agree As you know i was in. They won't start three rookie camp All off season and I was a late convert to this but now that they've made the decision to do this which is again a smart long-term decision for the franchise another example of the chiefs thinking about the long term here It's going to take a little time for these players to really play at the level they're capable of playing and i think we need to give them a little slack for that But you know. Honestly i thought the difference between the first half and the second half was pretty noticeable in the offensive line. It seemed like just in one half of football. They they solve some problems and made things a little better. So that's a good sign. But i think we'll see more of that as the opening games of the season. Go on and i think we're gonna see a really good unit by the time the the postseason gets here yeah. I don't think it's worth it for you to beat yourself up about the online. I think it shocked a lot of us a rating in the past have just he's tended to go with the veterans along the line at least to start the year and so this was very different than what he usually does. I remember we did a headlines section. We tried to predict headlines that would be shocking to us or bold. And one of the things i was trying to be bold about was man. How cool would it be. If she started three rookies on offense making fun of myself right now and it came to fruition. And i think it was just a shocking to me as it was to you speaking of the offense and working in patrick mahomes and the passing having more success. My goodness that passed tyreek hill was a game changer. Yeah so often. We talk about the mind. Mel between patrick mahomes and travis kelsey. I think there's a little bit of that with tyreek hill. And i think you saw it on display on sunday very important time in the game. Here's andy reid on that chemistry. Listen i it's a word thing some as we see guys just have chemistry with one another sink Where the other guy's going to be and what they're thinking when they're throwing you know just a a chemistry.

"According to the reports i read the guy who talked dorsey and read into trading up and taking him and like correct me. If i'm wrong that was a that was what happened right. Like dorsey was gm when he got selected within got replaced. Pretty much right after that gear later. Yeah so vh for background fell in love with pat mahomes Basically had to convince the entire front office that this is the guy for us and then you know. Obviously that turned out to be a great call now. This is the foundational piece for the franchise for the next ten or fifteen years. that's huge. I think he gets a ton of credit for that. I also think that he's been very flexible. Like he's been the model of flexibility in terms of remaking the offensive blind the season remaking the pass rush the seasons before that You know his village identified mid round talent. I think has been very solid. I would say the reason. He's not hire is there's maybe this is just recently vice. His last few early round picks are not looking great like edwards. Allaire i think was probably reach. Hardman has not turned out. Well you know. There's a few for over the last three seasons other topics just haven't really been big contributors and so. I'm not that not to say that. I don't like edward air but like you don't need it running back in the first round when you're that roster so I would say that. That was a dean for me. But otherwise like i think he's an amazing job like the stuff to you. I think you know signing mahomes to a ten year deal seems like honestly like a bar. Good a massive. So yeah i think overall done a really good job. She's in good hands. Danny mentioned running back. Shouldn't go in the first round. It's are you the first person to bring that up. Did you discover that. Because i've been doing some research. Kevin and so yeah. So he's he's number five. Melissa just briefly go over this first of all danny He was hired right bites. His first draft was twenty eighteen but he was hired ripe for training camp when it was a weird thing right before training camp read and dorsey. We're gonna sign. Mashing extensions according to reports. And then dorsey scott fired instead Classic classic extensions into fired interesting discussions. Anyway so yes i was twenty eighteen. I think that you know. I did a piece of the report superbowl and we talked about. How much how much easier it is to be the gm randy read than anybody else. Because if you draft a guy. Andy reid in coaching staff. Find a way to get him involved but they're really good. Coaching staff. Natick is figure that out I agree like when they have holes each plugs them and he is sort of on record saying that you have to be all in every single year. They're not going to kind of say. Hey we have mahomes we can take a couple years off and try to write sour cap whatever it is been able to get everybody to need under contract everybody And the fact that they had a whole and we saw it in february and then he went out and got her under brown. Joe tuni. we'll see on the kyle long-held situation but i just love that they solve problems refuge. Five on my list is well And i think the mahomes contract is sort of one a in that because if you were to knock him it's just that he sort of started on third base but that contract is pound. Pounded the table for patrick mall. Yes yes and and totally. He's number five on my list. Right beaches amazing but i think that contract is a really big deal because even when it's a sort of unprecedented player i just think that it can't be overstated. How difficult it is for guys to be willing to kind of break the mode in any way the nfl and identifying look. This is patrick mahomes. Let's just do it like this. That's a really really really big deal. Even if it's obviously it was a no brainer to do a long term extension with him. I think really pushing the envelope on that is one of the best acts of jamming in recent memory. And i think it's really impressive. I agree nor number up my number seven. This is what. I was excited to sort of on the table for tom to lesko. Do i have him higher. Amazing i kind of like almost wanted to put him higher so. I'm really glad that we're a pro time to ask podcast. So great drafter is really what it comes down to seven years in a row. Drafter pro bowler an all pro. Keenan jason brett. Melvin gordon joey bosa desmond king derwin james now justin herber and i think that he is the the sort of early returns on how they're going to try to support justin. Herbert i think are really positive. I love love love. That they're big move was for a center this off season. I just think that if you're going to have a young quarterback lake that that is like one of the best things that you can give him is just to one support the offensive line and to have someone really smart. Who's going to be able to take some of the mental burden away. You could ding thom. Tillis alaska if you wanted to one. I think for some past coach selection stuff and then to russia ascribe the ghost that haunts the chargers to our ranking of top. Jalisco at all. He's certainly one of the guys that i think if you compare acquisition track record to actual track record it's the most out of whack but we're not talking about actual wins and losses here playoffs or whatever and he's really got all right. I have so. Let's go number four on my list. I took over in two thousand. Thirteen drafted key. Lalain been there for a long time. Keenan allen joey bosa derwin jams we know that but then this off season i just herbert. Obviously justin herber but this offseason. He did exactly what you should be doing. Which is understanding. What is needed for a rookie quarterback to progress when supposed to progress which is between your one in your to statistically and saying okay. Let's go out and get corey. Let's get mad filer. Like they did everything. You're supposed to do to support a emerging superstar rookie quarterback around hard brennan staley whether or not hiring defensive coach works in that spot remains to be seen but i think i think it will work. I just think that they're pushing all the right buttons as as russillo election number eight less need really quick This is the opposite of some of the other picks is aggression and obviously they have drafted really well. They draft low guy name. Aaron donald But they also went out and got started this year. they have it's completely different Completely different viewpoint on first round picks and some of the franchise that's fine trading for jalen ramsey is worth eight of jalen ramsey. Plays like jalen ramsey I the coaching factory. They've set up with mcveigh a dc..

dorsey pat mahomes dorsey scott gm Joe tuni Allaire justin herber patrick mall Hardman patrick mahomes Andy reid Keenan jason brett Natick Melvin gordon joey bosa desmond king derwin james edwards edward Danny

"They're not judging them. Based on last year its current personnel. Yeah that that's another team. I think i put the forty niners ahead of it's been such a roller coaster for the chiefs because they had a good offensive line early last year. It and then everybody got hurt. They had like a steelers offense line in the super bowl and then cut cut half of them and now they have a good offense away. I guess if orlando brown and left tackle and joe -tuni- there's two offseason editions so big deal there all right. Let's take a look at the five worst offensive line's number thirty two. this is what. Pf is forecast going into the season. The new york giants number thirty one carolina panthers saquon barkley christian. Mccaffrey you got your work. Cut out for you. We know mccaffrey so involved in the passing game. But we don't know bar. Barkley might have sixty percent of the catches that that mccaffrey has so when you see that their offensive line which was horrible last year and is rated as the worst going into the season by. Pf how does that give you pause. Dave on barkley now. I'm more concerned about barclays workload. How much he'll will he actually get the type of touch that were expecting him to get when you draft him as top five running back. You're expecting to get twenty touches a game. And if he's not all the way back from his injuries still going through rehab. Do they eat them in. There's been talk that could happen. And that that would suck that would suck to spend a pick on saquon barkley and then you know. He's only playing sixty percent of the snaps and devante booker. Booker's in they're playing a lot of snaps. That's not cool. Okay so giants panthers. Dolphins are third worst. Steelers jets is pretty similar to the end of season rankings giants panthers dolphins steelers jets the jets. We know they drafted run An offensive lineman a guard in the first round The end we like mci becton but we just said on previous. Show these out of shape. The doll the doll dolphins giants jets. They've all invested heavily in the last couple of years and their offensive line. They should be last well. The steelers are big unknown. Because they're they're replacing villanueva and pouncey veterans mostly with guys who weren't good enough to play over the last year exactly right so it's a little strange. What they're doing. You can make the case for them to be last but just so many unknowns. I'm wondering where the texans are on this list. I'm wondering where the raiders are. You wanna talk about a team. The had upheaval on their offense sins or twentieth. When we're the raiders at twenty-fifth where the bengals at twenty third or something. Where are the giants at the bottom. Yeah that's i wonder if i wonder if the raiders get extra credit for tom cable.

"It's time for news and notes shawn watson. This is not good. He's facing to lawsuits alleging. Inappropriate conduct during massages. He is denying it. It's it's an awkward time because houston beat writer. Just predicted that he's going to trade it So we'll keep an eye on this but not what you wanna see and We'll we'll we'll continue to moderate arizona. Acquired rodney hudson center from the raiders and a seventh round. Pick for a third round pick. So he's a good player. They gave up a third round. Pick for an offensive lineman. That's no small deal You know. Dave gimme reaction to arizona getting rodney hudson to the chiefs signing kyle long There were so seattle getting right guard. Gabe jackson from las vegas of hitting their veteran running back or veteran offensive linemen. Yeah they did resign. The raiders did resign. Richie incognito and denzel good is back so a couple of pieces from last year will still be there. But they've got a lot of work to do. It's bad for josh jacobs and one more here. The patriot sign ted karras to be there center. could be very good. Well this the thing you know they. They lost their starting center and joe -tuni- their starting guard they signed. What i'm guessing is a worse center. Because they signed him to a one year four million dollar deal. There's no way Andrews is getting more than that are center that losing and their left tackle. They just brought back trent brown. I've been reading very conflicting stuff. About how good or how bad he is. And he's had trouble staying healthy although i don't know that they're better than they were last year. They're just different The cardinals getting hudson feels like huge news. Yes it is okay so give me your offensive line breakdown right now. In free agency with with hudson going arizona. That's going to help them. Shore up litters trying to get to kyle through the gaps right so big defensive tackles linebackers. That are fast. They're willing to go between the hog. Mali's up front to try and shut down column. Keep him from escaping through the middle of the line. That's what that's for dave. They're building a pretty good offensive line. It used to be a weakness. Now it's looking to be a strength I like it for them. I like seattle has done with gabe jackson. I think he's a terrific offensive linemen as well. They need help there and then Kansas city is really the one that i think we should talk about because -tuni- went there. He's awesome and if kyle wong can find that form from twenty and before i mean that's that is a huge boom to kansas city's offense any might even be able to play right tackle. Which would be just incredible for them but they don't need a guard. I mean they've got well. Emanates is tardif. Definitely coming back. He going to keep working on the front lines of the expected. Comeback think i had read. That's great so then long could compete to either be backup guard or a backup tackle slash starting tackle but he took a year off. He probably had his body refresh. He clearly thinks he's got something left in the tank. You've got to trust brett beach. And andy reid because they know how bad their offensive line is. Yeah they're gonna put another body that's got some got some accolades in their offensive line group and hope that he can come out of it with the starting job. It could be very exciting for kansas city..

"Joined Thursday. How are you? I'm great. This is amazing I'm super excited. I can't believe it's here. No. We need like you know. We need to draft three weeks from now with no games. This draft has been a life preserver forest. So here's the story here Christmas. Yes, it is so the dolphins have discussed trading for left guard. Joe -Tuni- of the Patriots per report. The dolphins are exploring trading up to pick an offensive tackle according to a report all right here, my only predictions for the draft. Joe Burrows go a number one to Cincinnati and Miami's going to win the night and weekend fourteen picks three in the first round a New England connection, and this team knows what they're doing. It doesn't take long. Remember the. League is trying to help bad teams. That's why it's just inexplicable. That the Brown been this bad for twenty years. It makes no sense. The League is trying to help you. They give you an easier schedule. They. Give you a franchise tag well. We can't afford this guy. I guess franchise him and they're steer still terrible. The Miami Dolphins. You can see it. It is not hard to do bill parcells that it four times overnight Miami jets. New England night fixed up. It's not that hard to do. So. What are the dolphins? Do they hire a coach from atop system Brian Flores? No nonsense guy, no noise guy, no drama guy. He goes out and gets Byron Jones elite corner the one thing New England. OAS pays for he goes out and gets Kyle van Noy High Q. Veteran. linebacker he gets shack loss and he can stop. The right can get the quarterback. He gets James. Howard Jordan Howard. Excuse me the running back. So he goes and solves a few issues, not necessarily superstar players, but you know little expensive. He gets guys who have been in the league. He gets veterans and now he's got all these draft picks twenty in two years fourteen this year three first rounders. You can see the really smart rebuilt happening fast. You can see Andy Reid goes to Kansas City and they're terrible and he gets Alex Smith and you're like okay Andy Reid. First thing he does is get a veteran quarterback and he comes in and Alex Smith starts winning. They go to and fourteen to eleven and five and they've been rolling since you can see it San Francisco with Kyle Shanahan. What did he do first of all? They started building a defensive front. They inherited some good defensive front players. They start adding more than they have a good. Joe Staley good left tackle. They make sure they get a right tackle from notre. Dame Mike mcglinchey, a road grader, and so you can see it happening. They're competitive. With Nick Mullins at quarterback. They're losing, but you're like. They got their tackles. Then they Garoppolo the quarterback. He gets hurt, but they got the. They got defensive lines, so they're building lines. Find The quarterback. You can see it Miami. To me is the same thing. Is that first thing they do. They get a coachman winning system second thing they do. They create a culture where from week one getting crushed by Baltimore to the last nine games where they won five. They are they get rid of some expensive. They get rid of the head cases they get younger accumulate draft picks first off season. They go get a corner. The Patriots pay for a former Patriot linebacker. You know shack. Lawson Jordan Howard guys who have played before. No, no, what the game's about then here we go first round three picks. Know what they're doing and it's not hard to do. Bill parcells has done this. He's done it literally four times. and. You'll get Cincinnati and they can't get the owner. The GM and the coach last fifteen year didn't feel like they get it right last ten years, and then there's Cleveland where there's all this noise and they can't get this stuff at the top right and it's a bunch of chaos. Miami's GONNA draft a quarterback tonight which WANNA. Know Miami's GONNA draft a an offensive tackle tonight which one I don't know. But it, it's amazing. Houston even when they win noisy Cleveland losing noisy. Noises bad in this league in here is Miami no nonsense, quiet covert operation. Get draft, pick smart veterans. This is how you do it, not a lot of noise anybody. That's nonsense. They get rid of anybody. That's noisy. They get rid of. They're not interested in as they're supposed to be tanking their competing and building a culture again. Two things to know about this league in the NFL, you can rebuild it fast. This is not major league baseball. Where if you just don't have enough good arms, you can't get people out. It may take five years of drafting and acquisitions and some small markets can't afford. To get great pitching I mean. Let's be honest. Baseball has no salary CAP, so you can want pitching and you get outbid by the. And the and the Red Sox and the dodgers, and the Yankees and teams with money. It also takes a long time. If you don't buy pitchers to develop pitchers, so baseball can take four ever six seven eight years to rebuild NBA. You need star players. You can draft a bunch of really nice players, but if you can't put the ball in the bucket against teams, you can't win again. There's a salary cap, but there are some teams that are unattractive ages. The NFL's different. You can turn the roster over. Miami one win win is GM. They one win. Team wanted fifteen next year turn over thirty five percent of his roster got rid of the bad guys got the good guys accumulate. Draft picks had a couple of boom. Second thing is the NFL is trying to help you. They're trying. They created a franchise tag. We can't afford this good player. Just franchise tag him. A player leaves you like Tom Brady leaves you. You get a compensatory. Pick this schedule. If you're a fourth place team, you play another fourth place team and make it easy for you. By the way there is no draft lottery. Like the NBA and the NFL. If you're bad, you get a great pick in the NBA. You can be bad Ping Pong. Ball goes the wrong way. You got the seventh pick. I six players were gone, so that's why to me. I want to see. Do you compete? D get better over the course of the season. Miami first game of the year didn't they lose like fifty nine nothing to Lamar Jackson terrible by the end of the year they won five nine, so they got better in season. Then free agent I. Don't hear noise. I got a bunch of draft picks There's a new story out today. He here this just broke. Okay elevator music. Them..

"How are you? I'm great. This is amazing. I'm super excited. I can't believe it's here I know. We. Need you know we need to draft three weeks from now with no games? This draft has been a life preserver for us. So here's the story of Christmas. Yes, it is so the dolphins have discussed trading for left guard Joe -Tuni- of the Patriots per report. The dolphins are exploring trading up to pick an offensive tackle according to a report all right here, my only two predictions for the draft. Joe Boroughs. Go a number one to Cincinnati. and Miami's GonNa win the night and the weekend fourteen picks three in the first round, a New England connection and this team knows what they're doing. It doesn't take long. Remember. The League is trying to help bad teams. That's why it's just. The browns have been this bad for twenty years. It makes no sense the league is trying to help. They give you an easier schedule. They give you a franchise tag well. We can't afford this guy I. Guess Franchise Him and they're. Still Terrible. The Miami Dolphins. You can see it. It is not hard to do bill parcells that it four times overnight. Miami Jets New England overnight fixed up. It's not that hard to do. So. What are the dolphins? Do they hire a coach from atop system? Brian floors no nonsense guy, no noise guy, no drama guy. He goes out and he gets Byron Jones Elite Corner One thing New England OAS pays for he goes out and gets Kyle van Noy High Q. Veteran. linebacker he gets shack loss and he can stop. The Roddy can get the quarterback. He gets James Howard Jordan Howard. Excuse me the running back, so he goes in solves a few issues, not necessarily superstar players, but you know little expensive gets guys who have been in the league. He gets veterans, and now he's got all these draft picks twenty in two years fourteen this year three first rounders. You can see the really smart.

"Next score that extra point sunny, Michelle their offensive line. I you know, I I said on Twitter, I think they're offensive line should have been the MVP of the game. I mean what Trent Brown did with Marcus candidate tackles with Joe -tuni- did shack. Mason a guard and David Andrews at center are truly amazing. Yeah. And at one point do we we thought Johnny Hecker may win VP for the longest punt in Super Bowl history with sixty five yard, but you talked about that final drive. So as Goth is going down there downton three they're making a little bit of run at second in ten and Stefan Gilmore after the game. He said, I was you know, just like in my head. I know you didn't throw this right now, you see me looking right at you golf. Throws it up trying to throw up a coax Gilmore gets the interception. And as soon as Gilmore gets down and takes the knee. And we have about four minutes left in that game. So Michelle has. A huge run. And then yet again Rex Burkhead rely on Rex Burkhead to sort of seal. This game gets a nice, you know, play their makes them have to call a time out and just sort of, you know, chokes them out, you know, runs the clock out Inza game. And you know, the time management all things that the patriots. It just seemed like they were able to get things rolling. Even though it was ugly. Even though it was a defensive showdown at the end of the day. The patriots had the ball in their hand. And that's exactly whether you wanted if you're Tom Brady, and they didn't even really need Brady. And again, his first pass of the game has picked off having a throw outside the numbers. Just like you said trying to find HOGAN Roby Koba mix a nice play on the ball. And it gets tipped up and intercepted. But they were able to get the run game going Sodhi Michelle ninety four yards and touchdown six touchdowns in the postseason. First time since Terrell Davis that he does that. So no matter how how you look at this game the way it may be viewed in history. The patriots were able to find a way to win. And and that's as it is. That is history. It is. I mean, look it wasn't pretty, but it was the most dominating Super Bowl that they've had. I mean, let's be real honest. I mean they were able to win the game with their defense, which you never would. Have thought would have happened and golf through the ball up? I mean, we know golf links to staredown receivers. I mean, we know he likes to stare them down. And we know that if he sees color coming out of he's gonna throw the ball quick. I think this opens up a whole set of in this game. I think the decisions are where the patriots are going to do. They're going to have to obviously get a younger player quarterback at some point. Tom wants to play the forty five but they don't have a backup quarterback on their team. And then I think the Rams have a decision to make do they wanna pay Jared Goff two hundred million or do they think Jared goff's going to improve? After is he going to get better? I don't know. I mean, I've never been a golf as the franchise quarterback guy. But we're going to have to see and I think that's what makes us game inner too. I thought the game wasn't her -taining. I thought it was a battle between two really good coaches. I think the Rams didn't play well because the patriots did that patriots defensive front. You know, The Danny Shelton didn't play much in the second half of the season. But he got in that game, and he kicked John Sullivan's ass up front, you know, both their tackles thought wise was really dominant. Force on Hammerstein the right tackle for the Rams. The Rams offensive line. Got exposed for what it is. It's not a very good group. And that's what we talked about. We said if you make this line become a pass a drop back pass line. They won't win and they didn't. And it is one of those interesting things to where they were getting a lot of you talked about Shelton Shelton is one of those guys mccourty they go from Owen sixteen last year to winning Super Bowl this year, which is pretty impressive as far as the dichotomy between those two things..

"And I I was really surprised at both of those guys set that I didn't change my opinion. I don't think it'll be all over. But I think if he hangs around and Tom Brady does play toys forty five and plays with him. And he piles up more rings and has more yardage and creep store if he catches Jerry Rice and postseason yards. What are you gonna do? How are you going to keep the guy out? I think that those spellcheck and Brady and gronk or the only guys will get in. I don't think you count the count. Randy moss as a as a patriot per se because of this time there, but you know, he's he's obviously already end. I think maybe it'll mean is the only other guy who's gonna get in. Out this. I'm thinking, I don't think I don't think they're mcchord. He's a great player. But I don't think hands at making it to the hall of fame. I don't think. You know, I don't think failure Bruschi making it. I, you know, Richard seymour's, we'll probably won't make the offensive lineman. Great. But I don't think any of them have been. So I don't think Logan Mankins or somebody like that is gonna make it maybe west Welker. I don't west workers numbers do like absolutely blast elements out of the water. But I think the problem with Welker is that he is considered eighty had Tom Brady there and be that he had rainy malls. And the other side for a long stretch. I mean, west Welker at his six years in New England average a hundred twelve catches twelve hundred receiving yards and six touchdowns a game like better than mecca Tron numbers. But I just think I think that Wes Welker will be devalued a little bit because you never wanna Super Bowl. This is unfortunate reality, you know. Maybe Joe Tuni if he if he makes every single year that he plays which is done now, by the way has to rings. I here's congratulations. Joe? Maybe maybe that could happen. Like, I don't know. Exact mason. I guess those two I I don't know. I think it's it's hard to imagine. I I guess Randy moss doesn't count. I don't think I don't think moss counts because Radi bosses probably in the hall of fame based on his Vikings. Fran. It's yeah. So I really think it's going to be Brady Bill check in gronk as three hall of fame guys. And then maybe outta maybe Welker. I just I don't know that unless the I don't know if you have you heard the rumors about what the NFL might do in this coming year in this hundred year, what the hall of fame might do like especial exception for a larger class rea-. Yeah. So there's there's buzz about that like because. Look, I'm biased because I know in fairly well, but Torry Holt should be the hall of fame in my opinion. I Bruce should be in the hall of fame to hold had more receiving yards. Jerry Rice, I the first nine years of his career peepers go has been stumping for Tony Boselli to get in and lease it. He's one of the three or four best left tackle, the buzz that the hall of fame knows that it has this logjam offense of Lyman in this logjam of of wide receivers. It also has a group of guys like Steve Smith Andre Johnson. Reggie Wayne all these guys coming down the pike. We're going to get in and it needs to clear some stuff out. So for the hundred year of the NFL, they might they might try to make that happen. And if they do I think that would be interesting because I would guess Bill that just based on the way that numbers work, it might potentially create a spot and three or four years where there's a week or class, you know, like each year, you know, they're they decide between five or six people this year. And also, I think probably went with title because. They wanted somebody to rep the patriots dynasty, and, you know, Kevin, y certainly certainly deserving, but you know, you're gonna have people, you know, people Steve Hutchings see hutch Hutchinson fans..

"Last year on ESPN radio and the ESPN app. It sounds simple. But the patriots were masters of the obvious. We spend so much time during the regular season confused by what patriot running back is going to get the most touches or what version of their offense is gonna come out and down the stretch. It was the version of their offense you'd expect like against teams that were not good at stopping the run. The patriots ran the ball directly at them. And they ran it over and over again, and they didn't deviate from that. Because they felt like they needed to mix it up. They didn't deviate from that to get cute or because they believe in some sort of field t to high flying offense in modern times they line to full back up in front of their first round draft pick running back, and they said we're going to run the ball at your face. And we. Dare you to stop it? And the Rams couldn't stop it. Now. The Rams also only gave up thirteen point in this. So there's some gibbon taken that. But ultimately when you look at what happened in this game. Again, you heard Louis Riddick say the ability to apply and withstand pressure Tom Brady pressured on just five of thirty six dropbox fourteen percent pressure rate. The lowest pressure rate for a quarterback in a Super Bowl since drew Brees against the colts. And Brady's lowest ever pressure percentage in a Super Bowl. That's going to be hard to beat especially when you've got the defensive player of the year on the other side of the ball. And I have to give this patriots offensive line an overwhelming amount of credit because Dante scar Nekia coach who's obviously. Assistant coaches in NFL history. The job that he is done with the patriots and their offensive line. And since coming back after that two thousand fifteen postseason run has been second to none in game. Planning wise, the things that they did in that. But man watching a couple like watching some of these guys watching Joe -tuni- last night one on one against Aaron Donald in a couple of cents him shack. Mason these guys getting wins against the best defensive player in pro football. One on one is a testament to how damn good those guys are too. I gave a lot of credit to game plan to coaching. But those dudes went out there and got the job done. They held up in double teams were listed even double teams hadn't succeeded against Aaron Donald go back and pop on that saints tape, and you'll be watching double teams getting ragged old by a guy with a six pack playing defensive tackle in the NFL. Like that mutant was a guy that they were able to stop and on the other side for the Rams twenty seven of the Rams sixty plays went for zero or negative yards on Sunday the second highest percentage of zero or negative yard plays for the Rams in a game this season at forty five percent. The Rams punted on their first eight drives no team had ever punted on seven drives on their first seven drives in Super Bowl history. And the Rams did not a because the other side. The patriots super. They did all postseason like again masters of the obvious. You came into this game. Saying man the patriots. They got a bunch of guys that are right around six four two hundred sixty pounds. When you look at van noy and Hightower and Trey flowers, and John Simon all these linebacker DNA types that are sitting there, and they just throw the house that you on third down. They mix up and they run twists and stunts in the middle. And they dare you to stop it against good offensive lines. The practice this stuff, and they still find a way to get home. The patriots of mastered the obvious in a way that has to be so frustrated everybody else and. You try and search for again what we can do going forward because it's a copycat football league. We always say that. New England Patriots a copycat football people will be trying to poke from the patriots coaching tree for a number of years all the guys under ballot. Check that they want to try and see if they can take it out with them. People have tried to bring it over free agents from the patriots team and the patriots are more than happy to let guys that are priced out of their range go and walk because they believe they can take anyone else and make them into kings. And what do you do? Do you say, maybe we've reached critical mass that in modern footballs? It's become so spread out if you have the ability to flex back into a fullback tight ends on the in line power running game. But you can be an advantage based on the personnel. That other teams have brought over is it having the flexibility to do both. That's probably more value than we gave it credit for or is it this idea that so much of the patriots system is hard to come by. I was talking to Bobby carpenter. Former linebacker guy his great work for us all over the network here. Former linebacker former first round pick out of Ohio State and Bobby brought up a great point in the VIP put out this graphic the other day that showed since the last CBA the NFL a lot of the money because you have these rookies on on these cost control deals. A lot of the money has ended up. Veteran quarterback. So we see them get paid all over the place and rightly so and you love it. But that money is not going to veterans and other positions. So you've either got the highest paid player at a position or you tend to have a very young player at the position. The middle of the pack veteran has kind of been priced out and a lot of these things. And what are the patriots? Do. They scoop those guys up left and right. And I've made a great point. You can do a lot more high level stuff. You can play football at the four hundred level. When you've got veteran players at all these positions that are willing to come in and work hard that have the depth and breadth of knowledge to come in and execute that stuff at a high level and are willing to do it at a premium cost because no one else is willing to pay a much at this point and are hungry to do. So because they've been doubted they've got an opportunity to win a ring here all of these things in an environment. That's really difficult to replicate in an NFL where if you do not produce at this level within the first three years, they're showing you the door. Hell they'll show you they'll show you the door. After your one. So trying to replicate all these things. It is easier said than done it is kind of like Steve Young said in a soundbite after the game last night. You just kinda kinda hope you don't face Bill Belichick and Tom Brady at this point. And hopefully, wait out the storm eight eight eight seven two nine three seven seven six triple eight say ESPN coming up next. I want everyone to be honest for a second. You don't have to be proud of it. But you got to be honest with me at some point last night. We all thought the same thing. Man that saints. Chiefs game would have been way better. We'll get to that next. It's first and last year on ESPN radio and the ESPN app was it. Now, we can.

"They're going to slide the center, but what weight has done a lot of is put sue into that one gap. So when you play on the front, you have a one and the three the one the one is the shoulder of the guard the shoulder of the center, and the three is the shoulder of the guard either side and so- Andrews is going to have to play really effectively in this game. And sometimes those put they'll put sued down and stunt him to where he becomes zero off of his movement, and they're going to have to utilize some of that. And I'm sure the patriot. It's have played weight enough to know how he moves front what he likes to do. But to me, I think the biggest question this game. And I'm sure romo's going to nail this perfectly is when the patriots were and Twenty-one personnel, which is to backs one tied him. What does way due to that way? Typically will always play nickel because that's what he's played all year. I think they've played against fourteen twenty some snaps against two backs out in the field. Not in short yardage. Take those short yardage plays out. So how he plays bass Twenty-one personnel is going to be the key of the game. If he comes out and places nickel. The patriots will be able to run the football. They'll throw it. But they'll run it more. If he comes out and place his base defense against two backs in the backfield. Then that's when Brady is going to spread them out and Brady's gonna take Devlin and use them as a decoy and take take gronk and move him around and basically shift this over and under front, oh this under front and get it to where he wants to be able to throw the ball and get the ball out quick. So. So I think they're going to have remedies for it. I think if the Rams win this game. I think it's going to be because Donald is the MVP because he's been a disruptive force. But look the two best three best players for the patriots. Or let's say the five best players on the patriots in these two playoff games have been the five offense of Wyman from cannon to shack. Mason David Andrews to Joe Tuni to Trent Brown. Those five guys have played better than anybody on the team including Brady. So that's going to be the essence of the game. And I think if the if the Rams wanna do it they may have to change their front a little bit. So they can't always get locked into what they wanna do. Is there a world in which where the patriots have struggled in the first quarter of Super Bowls. I mean, I think last year they made it they had a fill in the first quarter. And that was the first time that they had under Bill Belichick scored in the first quarter. I mean, there's sort of like everything throughout the game. Bill Belichick is not really gonna show his hand early. He's gonna figure out what you're doing. And then he's gonna you know adjust and do things accordingly has sort of been the protocol for all things, Bill Belichick. But is there a chance that he may be deviates from that plan? And tries to go early and try to get him. Because I mean, the Rams are an offensive team. They're thirteen and three on the season. I mean, they were the second seed in the NFC they were the team that we were all talking about this amazing offense with Todd Gurley, and we know girls doing a little bit. He says he's not injured. But we know he's not necessarily at one hundred percent. But they've added C J Anderson. But is there a chance that Bill Belichick go into this game knowing that they have this defense with all these stars? But to lead with sue and all these sort of guys on the back Roby Coleman, you know, who's making the comments about Brady. And then backtracking is does does he try to get that choline toss? I he said he the philosophy changes every game. I saw him in his press conference say that. But is there a chance he does try to go from the jump A, Tom? We need to get points on the board because this team can score. They've outscored two teams forty nine to seven in the first half. They dominated two teams in the first half to the best teams in the AFC. They've dominated him in the first half that first drive in Kansas City was a masterpiece..

"You a tunnel looks. I think they're pretty straightforward as a team. They they know what they're gonna do. They want to use the people that they wanna use in certain particular situations is just about going out there and executing and obviously going to have little nuances that have little trick plays and things like that. So we've got to be prepared for that. But I think for the most part in my opinion, pretty straightforward and how they want to approach the game as I said the running game going to be very important for us to shut down early on in this game. And then obviously move into a position to where we first and last Michael junior here on ESPN radio and the ESPN app. I'm sure these spin for. Be patriots fans. Crying out the underdog the team saying no one believes in us. Everyone doubt says everyone sucks win as well. He called the called this vanilla predictable in either way, the patriots response in the game is going to be deemed a troll either. They do what they've been doing all playoffs. Lineup and punch you in the mouth the way they have been doing with James Devlin at fullback with Sony. Michelle at running back with this offense of line. That is kept Tom Brady clean and upright throughout the entire playoffs. So far. Either. That's the case people say, oh, yes, e easier said than done for a Rams defense that gave up nearly as many yards on the ground per carry as chief defense of the patriots just finished up with or the patriots come out. And they give you a million formations the way, you know, they can and Tom Brady runs. The hurry up that we know he can go to any time. And they say, oh, really the patriots. Don't give you many looks on offense will show you that either. It's all upside. And it's all win for the patriots. Because. Because there's not really lost because there's not really a threat of competition in this because that's not really an inflammatory statement. It's damaging to looking at the tape from the last few games and saying man, these guys really are going to try and line it up and ram it down our throats, and if you're looking for as we set up this week, and we'll have plenty of time to get into the match up to this game. And we're going to hear them done over and over again, and the sexiest phrasing football is going to be this game will be won and lost in the trenches. But when you look at to offense of lines that are number one and number two in the NFL this year. For snaps. Played by their starting unit. For the Rams the most productive offensive line combination in the NFL over the last two years, really when it look at the continuity, the both of these groups deliver, and when you know for the patriots whose offensive line, I think has been the story the surprise story of the play offs. For what they've done going up against the Rams and Aaron Donald and one in Dhamma consumer what Dante Fowler did in this last game. It's how you address. Aaron Donald because I will give you this. When we look for things that potentially beat the patriots over the last three postseasons when an interior pass rusher is able to put Brady under duress. He is completed a mere thirty percent of his passes. When it's an edge rusher that completion percentage jumps to fifty three percent. And it's relatively the same amount of drawbacks in those last three postseason forty four dropbox with edge pressure forty-seven with interior pressure. So there's enough of a precedents there to say that how the patriots true choose to address Aaron Donald, and we know this this is obvious. But with a team is a depth that game planning in this area. And I think as much as we've made a story of the patriots offensive line being able to keep Tom Brady upright how good a job they've done. What a great acquisition Trent Brown was this off season from the forty Niners. Joe -tuni- get ready to be the first player in NFL history to start his first three seasons to start in three straight Super Bowls to begin that for all the things that Dante scar Nekia the offensive line coach whose name you probably know more readily than any offensive line coach you've seen in a while on the NFL because of what he's done with these team all of that my mind is still in conjunction with how well they've game plan. And so the way they address Aaron Donald who everyone is trying to game plan, and no one has had success. If you could stop that guy from getting the Tom Brady the patriots win this going away. It's not even close Aaron Donald in my mind, if the Rams are gonna win Aaron Donald has to be the Super Bowl MVP. I think he very well could be I think they just simulated a Madden game where Donald was the Super Bowl MVP and the Rams one. But I think it's not a video game. That is reality that if you're going to win the best player on your team has been Aaron John wall season. And he is going to have to be the best player on the field for either team. If the Rams want to pull this one off coming up next. We'll look ahead to go. Look a wingo. It's y'all caught up on what you might have missed next. I last year on ESPN radio and the ESPN app..

"There was another conference championship game on Sunday. We gotta talk about it. And that was the New England Patriots going down to Kansas City to take on the chiefs Tom Brady, Bill Belichick taking on Andy Reid Padma homes. And I gotta Tom Brady quote for you said you play on the road. It's going to be tough. What travels is running the ball playing tough. That's good in any weather any condition any environment any stadium that was a big part of our game. And as much as we have talked about the dynamic duo that is Brady and Bella check. We have to talk about what they're able to do with this bunch formation. These big guys that they put it a line with Dublin Dwayne Allen, rob gronkowski. And I it is interesting Lombardi in the world of spread offenses where everyone is trying to make everything is far as Zano and spread the field out. And and get all these gaps. You know, so get control as an is. Much as a problem with a lot of these defense. You have to worry about it. Bill Belichick is going the other way he is making while they zag, and you know, he is running down the throat, and you can see Sony, Michelle. I mean own that I opening drive at this game kind of set the tone for what this patriots team was going to do on the road. They were going to run the ball. They were going to be tough up run and Tom Brady again delivers so just just off the basis of that. I mean, what did you see in this game from the patriots to show that you know, they are really a team that's rolling at the right time. You know, they're playing really well. I think the underscore of this game was how well their offensive line. Play shack. Mason David Andrews, Joe -tuni-, the tackles Trent Brown played really well, and so did Marcus can those five offense. Allama mama gronk block. And to me, they they were the heroes of the skein. They will get a lot of credit for but they were the heroes. And I just thought that the way the patriots came out with their tempo. The way they decided that they were gonna they were gonna match it. So that if they played bass they ran the ball out of the if the if the chiefs try to play bass they threw him out of it. They try to play nickel. They ran. Them out of it. They really didn't have an answer for it. I'm not sure what the chiefs were trying to accomplish on defense, especially in the overtime part. You plan cover to against Tom Brady on three onto third and tens. It's shocking that he throws the ball in the middle of field when they seventeen for twenty in the first game kind of interesting how you know, you just didn't play that. But I think more than anything is this game was proof that Andy Reid never read the book gridiron genius. Because if you read that book, you know, Bella checks going to take away your best what send it to him. Right. We talked about this on the Friday forecast. I mean tyreek hill has one catch for forty two yards. Never really can't get him the ball because he's pressed we predicted. He was going to be pressed could never find a way to give a ball. Travis. Kelsey three catches for what? Twenty seven yards nothing. Let's go defensively. Now, you know, no help at all defensively from four just he lines up offsides. I actually heard some idiot saying they shouldn't a cough sides. Can you imagine that the guys like in the ball? And then somebody else said will Trent Brown was lined up to deep get the hell out of your you line up on the ball. You don't wind up on the ball. If it's illegal formation. They'll tell you. That's a joke. And then default does nothing Justin Houston does nothing. And then to be the biggest factor of the game, which nobody talked about was Chris Jones on the stats sheet. Chris Jones has one play. He batted a ball down. That's it made. No other contributions to the game..

"Is headed to his ninth Super Bowl. And a big reason why are the guys up front in the two playoff games? This year Brady has dropped back to pass ninety times. And he's been sacked zero times was yes zero also the first time the chiefs defense not have a sack in a game. Brady said yesterday, quote, I think they're stars. I wouldn't want any other guys than those five note. How clean his jersey was right? Yesterday, so Shannon. The patriots align. Underrated. They've been underrated all year because they don't have Zack Martin. They don't have a meal. They don't have a guy that's probably go into the hall of fame. They don't have a guy going to a Pro Bowl this first team, all pro. But they were third in sacks allow they were fifth in rushing. But I'll you hear about Tom. And so that just goes to show you that he has support he has helped contrary to what get Bayless was you to believe that this is all Tom rating, Otani raiders. They're already not going to throw the ball so quick. But have I. I know I know. Jail had that run game. Look getting against San Diego. Rex. Rex burkhead. Earning. Oh, I thought you had smoke it. I thought you will speak. All right. But who's on the field in crunch time Sunday at Kansas City rexburg cast, but with Tom Brady blocking board we talk about off into land. So I don't want you to Tom Brady. Thank you get that out. So neither you go guy. You. Michelle hundred plus yards against charging share another hundred plus three new, you know, sunny Michelle the only rookie running back to ever rush for my touchdown sue bowler. Yeah. He's only the second running back to rush for five touchdown little playoff season since another Georgia Bohdan, my former teammate tell Davis in nineteen ninety seven. That. That's all Tom Tom Brady. Doing Tom Brady is also a great fool baton them. They note that Brady anyway. Yes. We can talk about Tom Brady only throwing the ball six times ten yards or more down in veal in the first three quarter. But in the fourth quarter and overtime is shot up almost triple seventeen times. So obviously bay gets one. He's taking more time to throw the ball downfield. And the results are the same. Nobody's touching. Interesting. Yup. So Dante's guard Nekia when they lost the championship game to Denver and Denver don't taste guard. Nick your head retired the year before offense of lying. Yep. Code bella. Check was somehow able to lure him out of retirement. We did with the bag when over to his house Jenny paper bag looked inside. Like this Bill Bill walked out of the house next thing. I know Dundee's Nicu's coming back. He's unbelievable. Good. The get at what he does lay that office land. You'll really know. I mean Trent Brown Joe tiny, David Andrews shack makers, shrike Mason, Marcus cannon ended name. But I don't think any any of those guys would probably be rated top three top to top three at their position. But those five guys together behind the Indianapolis Colts. It's hard for me to believe that there's a better offensive line, especially what they've been able to do to rush a hundred plus yards and keep Brady clean. Interesting. So how are they doing this with a Trump round who was a former seventh round draft pick that they acquired this past off season from San Francisco remember gave a third rounder, but they they got back a fifth round. It's it's complicated. Rob. Remember they lost Nate Zolder big ticket item to the giants. Right. That was their left tackle. Then they drafted left tackle with the twenty third. Overall, pick is Ahah win. What happened to him second preseason game achilles rupture gone for the year? So now, you're down to left tackles and you throw in Trent Brown left tackle, former seventh round draft pick. And you mentioned Joe -tuni-. He's a he's third round or David Andrews undrafted free agent out of Georgia and shack Mason was a fourth rounder and Marcus cannon was a fifth round. Or so these are not big ticket items these five guys right here. But the Pro Bowl to star. The all pro is the offensive line..

"Janet, I think my phone was hacked or something go fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more. All right. Let's spin for a little bit. Let's get your immediate preview. Look ahead thoughts being that you gathering them and your mom's house. You're doing your homework today on Shubra bowl fifty three. What are you making a match? Yeah. First of all, it's a great match. If there's so much. I'm not sure if it's either so much just different sides of the spectrum, right? You've got Bill Belichick Kutu me greatest. Coach the history of team sports shot and defensive-minded guy. Obviously, Sean McVeigh who has now become the model that other teams are whether you think it's just coincidence or not like other teams are looking for their own Sean McVeigh you've got to bay area quarterbacks in Jared Goff and Tom Brady. But one of them is kind of California, cool, right? Jared Goff is sort of viewed as this nothing. Really everything's for just rolls off his shoulders. Then you've got Tom Brady. Who's this fiery forty one year old Adam who just can't quit will never be able to quit? The fact that he was one hundred ninety ninth overall in the draft and bench during his final season of college football. And a guy that everything he feels that. He accomplishes news earned nothing. A player's. Always earn a Brady got the ultimate chip on his shoulder. It's a great great match of in a lot of ways. I think to sort of not sort of steer towards all of the obvious though. Over the past two weeks. I would contend that the strength of the Rams has been their defensive line and the strength of the patriots has been their offense fine in dominant. Sue, obviously, Aaron Donald Michael Brocker. Don't they Fowler's given them some juice off the edge that right? There has all the makings of one of my favorite matchups in the Super Bowl. Let me say this right now, the most underrated person most. Important person to the patriots success this year that nobody is mentioning nobody's talking about Dante score neck either offensive line coach how about this Adam. So who is he coaching? He is coaching a seventh round left tackle a third round left garden. Joe -tuni- an undrafted center, David Andrews, a right guard and shack Mason, fourth round pick and Marcus cannon who slipped to the fifth round because the overcame cancer. So so that's a seven three undrafted free agent of four and a fifth round pick. Correct. How about that? Those are the guys that he is working with a and they didn't allow a sack yesterday and they didn't allow a sack against the chargers. They have not given up a sack this postseason. They're running the bullet will their performances peaking at the right time. It's offensive line based and again when they convinced they score Nekia to come out of retirement or whether he opted to do that on his own whatever it was. There was not. More valuable off season acquisition that the patriots have made in any recent season than getting back this Nekia. This is one more stat illustrate just how great he was. And how great the offensive line was yesterday. The patriots ran more plays ninety four than any team has run any game this season. Tom Brady took a knee une- at the end of regulation when they had six seconds left after Harrison Bucker tied the game. So the patriots ran ninety four plays. They had zero negative plays yesterday. Other than Tom Brady's kneel down which throw that away. So ninety three plays zero sacks zero negative runs against the number one pass rush in the NFL yesterday. The Kansas City Chiefs the patriots ninety three for ninety three in not moving backwards that right? There is talking about stain on script and sticking with the formula. The patriots brilliantly Bill Belichick has gone up against five number. One ranked offense is head coach. He's foreign one of those games while. Okay. So they get it on the offensive line. They get it done with the defensive line. They get it done on special teams with Matthew slip. They and here's the thing that that. I also always remember. Okay. Talking to people to patriots various points in time. Maybe the same thing mission to you. But I remember people saying seventy five percent of the teams in the league beat themselves beat themselves count the patriots in the twenty five percent that don't because these other teams we look at the saints yesterday..

"I think it's clear that none of us have any tangible football experience in none. That would translate on any level to anything above agree. School level. But I do remember I what I take issue that because if you ever covered high school sports and the northeast specifically baseball it is miserable sitting and watching teenagers play baseball for three hours. I know like to be truly cold watching sports. I was just gonna say the like we've all been out there playing snow football, right or awful wins. And I always thought for me and that when you're on offense, and you're the wide receiver something favored you against the little defensive back who's frozen five feet away from you. And you burn around him. I don't know if that has any maybe just maybe cold other just favors defenses. But I would rather be tyreek hill knowing where I'm going in one degree weather, then trying to figure out where tyreek hill is fair point. I agree. And I do think though the running game shouldn't that shouldn't be to affect. And that was the one take. And that's the thing. I've been banging the drum all year for the patriots as I think they're good running team at their best. Check mason. David Andrews, Joe -tuni- inside have done a really good job opening up holes for Sony, Michelle. And that was one thing that they were really good against the chiefs. The I I mean, that's kind of why they won that game. -fensive Lii is they had their way with the chiefs running the ball. And as a pats fan, that's kind of my hope in this game. Is that you're gonna get Sony? Michelle, you're gonna get James white here. And there certainly in the passing game going up against their linebackers who aren't great Hitchens in raglan. I think that's a good matchup and that they just control the game that that's kind of who they are as a team, and you're gonna get a few nice throws by Brady. And then you're on to Atlanta. They're not predictable usually usually their game plans figured out. But to me that makes the most sense play bully bullshit. Chiefs defense around keep the ball out of Mahomes hands and try to win that they ran right at Chris Jones. Who's a great player? But in rush the passer had a force fumble in that game. But they kinda ran right Adam because he gets up up the field. The though it's good. It at attacking weaknesses and to me. It's that secondary is been okay, actually, but it's the linebackers and maybe it's up the middle running. They have not been on the road New England since they scored ten points against the Steelers on December sixteenth or not a good team football, outsiders has them as the thirty first defense on the road and the second best defense at home. That's outrageous one other part of their offense. Which is now it's gotten to the point where we don't even really talk about it anymore. And I was joking about down in the newsroom during that wretched game last week. But gronk had was getting called out for great blocking all game. He is he's always been a great blocker. But he was targeted once in that game. It's gotten to the point now where he's just not an active part of the offense. I'd just be careful on that..

"Well. The chargers are showing block both sorry. Offense, number forty six. Five yard penalty worked out. It's James Devlin. They're showing the block and Devlin gone out of their little bit early trying to get into his position to protect against his all out rush from the chargers pump block team. Cardona will snap. It. Ryan Allen averaged forty five and a half yards per punt this season, he's been rock solid throughout his career for New England. Now in a sixth year out of Louisiana tech, very consistent. Snap from Cardona. Allen voiced it high in the air balances at the five it's down inside the five by Matthew Slater. Eleven years in the NFL, a UCLA, and he does a whole lot of that. Smart. Plays on special teams forty three yard fun. We're gonna spot it at the two. I mean, just perfect best teams execution by the patriots. And as I as you're talking about. Brian Allen the product for the patriots. How good evening? His gingrich. Very good. Bill jiang. Not only has everyone wants to talk about Tom Brady and what they do offense. But the teams every one is held accountable, and they all played a very high level with so impressive. And also talent evaluation Potter's kickers. It's an imperfect science some teams draft them, very high fix and Tampa Bay in particular rivers throws out of his own end zone, right side. It's broken up. Mike Williams with Jesse Jackson. So you say, oh, it's not that hard. Just go. Get yourself a kicker. Get yourself a punter. This team gets upon her or a kicker, and then they stick with them for many many years what from Viteri to Gus Cousy David covered for over two decades at one position and all stars with Belgium because not only is he the head coach. He makes every decision. He's the final say of who is a patriots uniform who is not second channel four LA five minutes to go on the fourth rivers throws it it is off line. But the nearside Keenan Allen the intended target and now it's thirty. It's one of the things is you look in the makeup. The patriots in early in the year. And it was the case this year. You wondering, where's the talented? Very well. But he gets his system in his philosophy. And then he coaches the money. And you hear about how they approach practicing conditioning and everything and it's a team that every year gets better throughout the. Melvin Gordon is back in there. He sets up to the left of rivers on a third and ten from the two rivers looks toss it over the middle. And it's caught Diane Tonio gates for a first down. While we like to thank our crew for all of their assistants this afternoon studio coordinator, Dan Silverman, studio, producer, Brian fickle. Forty one twenty two patriots. Shotgun formation for Philip rivers. But a disappointing day. It's been for the chargers the expectations. His throw is off line to the left. Travis Benjamin the intended receiver incomplete charges felt they had a team that could really competing with the patriots this divisional round on this day. Even though it's at lead the way they performed away from LA nine at a whole whenever they boarded a plane this season. But that means very little when you're coming into Foxborough. Why don't think there was only then I think all of us believe that this is going to be a game that came down to the very end. And it really did really over at halftime. Third and ten for LA four eighteen to go forty one. Twenty two patriots d drop rivers sets his feet chucks. It to the far side is intercepted step on Gilmore with the pick. Alan the intended receiver that. Gives you an indicator of what kind of day, it's been Gilmore has done a bang up job on one of the best targets in the NFL. And he just earned the I n t stepping in front. It's a great way. I mean, just man to man coverage you call that he's been doing it all day steps underneath it built rivers is trying to force something down the field and Gilmore says noches want welcome. Those of you expecting the start of the game between the eagles and the saints from New Orleans Kevin Harlan, James Lofton Ross Tucker standing by with game two of our NFL playoff double header on Westwood One to take you there as soon as this one is over with four minutes to go. It's a gift to the right Sony. Michelle brought down by Hayes Pohlad with a flag thrown. Penalty for sound. Holding call against Joe Tuni. So they'll back it up here for New England. And that's not going to end.
