"Yeah, except Anderson's one before she went for friends one year, the supporting actress category and, ah, she would pull up the rare feat of winning it for both drama. And for comedy that that hasn't happened a lot. Uh, so you know, the show was in great. Ah, that's a problem I loved. We love that show. You know, we love did but we loved the two. We love the female characters. And maybe that Made us love the show more, but I mean, and we watch so much morning show. I mean, you know, we watched all the morning shows for our show. I mean, it really struck a chord. I understand, And I didn't hate it. I liked it quite a bit of it, but that competition is heady cattle. Well, that's Laura Linney. I heard you know the Ozark and she's great Sander on Jody Coomer cancel job for killing. Even She won it last year, Jodie and then Olivia Colman for the crown, and she can't win it because They They miscast her for those for for the crown and as Faras aging, Clear 47 years they got aged 15 years and then send a is also nominated in this category in there, it's a fascinating category. I think any of them could win it. Um, I actually think Olivia Coleman's gonna win if I had to put money on it, Damn it. But I think there's also a chance. You know. You said that the killing gave people might cancel each other out. Jodie Comer won last year. Good and I think there are a lot of people including myself. Think Sandra all Deserves her chance in the spotlight. You won the golden gloves. Yeah, that's you know, And while that show isn't as good it was it's first season. It's still pretty darned good. Yeah, I'm rooting for Sandra. Oh, Um, but I think I actually think Olivia Colman is a pivotal but families love Laura Linney. She's won a few times before. Ah, now bet you money right now it's going to be Aniston and my only reason. I think that is she won the screen Actor Guild awards and its actors voting on actors, so I think it's going to be the same pattern. Why would it be any different for the Andes? That there's a very good chance? She's probably I would put her in the second position. Ah, is also a feeling that Jennifer Aniston has it all. Ah Oh, She might not need it this much. And it was back last on that series. I mean, Yeah, Everybody loved it. I even though I wasn't crazy about it, I think I liked it more than most. Ah, so well, we'll see about that is that is the most interesting category of the night. And will you be tweeting? Or will you just be busy writing your story in your who has time to tweet? Well, well, it's going to be tight because we're on deadline that night, but I'll be I'll be AH, popping in here and there on Twitter, and it's going to be a really fat standing night. I've got a story running tomorrow. Maybe up online already about how they're going to pull this off. But there are 140 cameras around the world in people's homes, and they are unlike the terrible MTV music Awards, right. They are not going to have anything pretaped. Yeah, people are going to react spontaneously from their couches from their backyard. It's kind of exciting, however, they want a dress. I can't wait. Yeah. I mean, inside should be a lot of fun. Yeah, I think so, too. Neal, have you watching? Can you stay with us? I mean, if you watch some of these new shows that air coming like Ratchet, can you give us some Direction on some new crap. We too much while Ratchet is really Gord. I mean, hi. I watched 3% tonight. You're going to tell us you're going to tell us what we have to take a break. We'll be right back with Neil Justin from the Star Tribune. Nothing but good times getting.

"We're going to Britain with TV guides maps Rocha is that David update because I think if you're into the B. B. C. and you're into Downton abbey there's a couple of treats coming up definitely yes on Easter Sunday night the premium channel epix which may actually have a free trial period I don't know most of them are these days trying to lure you in but but definitely a big deal for this channel of people don't know they have called epics but it's called Belgravia and it is the first big series coming from Julian Fellowes ever he's the creator of Downton abbey and I very much has a Downton abbey vied to as the six part series airing Sundays on epix all these families are holding secrets about the heritage of this young man who everybody seems to be buzzing about and how it affects the lives of these families unlike down that B. which idealize the server class so much most of the servants and the butlers and maids on the show or scheming and they're blackmailing and they're spying on their on their masters and and so it's very Dickensian really I suppose this is Julian Fellowes working in debt Dickens mobility like down Abby you probably want to check out Belgravia if you can airing on Sundays on epix and let's talk about killing eve which the first two seasons of the show are fantastic third season they moved it up it was supposed to be here later in in April but then when MC had a hole in its schedule because walking dead ran out of episodes they couldn't put the spin off on an alley at the flooded with BBC America AMC simulcasting killing eve starting Sunday bringing back Science Center when Jodie comer as the spy on the assassin who are usually obsessed with each other it's one most colorful shows on TV it's thrilling it's also pretty funny and it's just really out there and at the end of the second season he was left for dead by the assassin villanelle but of course even if not better there would be a third season of killing eve so they're going to be in each other's lives and Macri the entries happening and and it's a really terrific import of of a series of that begins on Sunday as well and it's nothing that we just mentioned floats your boat how about Willie Nelson Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton that sort of a double bill on on a in the in his their biography franchise which they revived in recent years the doing a two hour special on Dolly Parton's life and career they're following it up with a big tribute concert special celebrating Willie Nelson seventy year career called Willie Nelson American outlaw the end this is a tribute special with concert performances by all kinds of people if you're a fan of country music biography of Dolly Parton in a concert celebrating Willie Nelson that's something I'm pretty good at a TV right there that is Matt rows of TV guide magazine joining us on total information let's say you've just bought a house bad news.

"That is again, so colorful and dynamic and has such a huge part of of this story is it's going to be a whole new experience for me, you know, which I'm super excited anxious. Nevis sounds like a high concept crazy game world real. Two visions of this million the real world and molotov the Atari in the game is a total contrast to who she is which I think is a big reflection of of the way we on our society in social media in who we kind of portray ourselves as and sure. Yeah. Deep. Now, you know like. Who is the Jodi Twitter? I'm not very good on Twitter, re tweet and shameless self promotion, actually. I just I it's such it's such a hard. Such a hard balance. Because I I always get reading when people post them what we had for breakfast. And you know, it's the balance of what are people actually interested in in listening to you know, hearing and would is too much and also just not we can get to know every little nitty-gritty each bowl of pasta you consume in the next season as you maybe that'll keep you keep you. Yeah. Yeah. I'm suffering for you. Yes. But twits, the so much opinion on Twitter a found. I've learned the hard way I read half in skimmed or does it. But I like I will go out of my way to find something negative about myself. Like, that's the type of person. I am you know. And like, why am I doing this? Oh, no. I'm already here at this awful awful tweet. Like, that's that's the that's why I have been named to do. And so I try and took us up. Yeah. What accent to get to adopt for the new role due to an American. How's your? Yeah. What version of American? What's a general American Cordell? She in America. Basically, I've muddled on Kim. Yes. Or no about six icing, and is the is the kind of profit happening. Do we know where that's not Saudi? Yeah. Complex of. Yeah. Schedule which is I'm going to. Yeah. "And we've posted a couple of fun pieces of video from that that off you probably seen by now of you haven't seen if you haven't checked out I highly recommend it because it really shows off their wit, and charm and come rod ary. I've socialized them on my on my Twitter feed at my Instagram feed. But if you want to go to MTV news YouTube page, it's the best place. Check them out. I played a fun game of most likely to with the cast. And then a game we called name that avenger in which the cast look at extremely close up images of their fellow ventures body parts, and guess and hilarity. Ensued? My friends. It's very very funny. They were they had a ball with it. So I highly recommend those. We're also rolling out some flashback clips I've been talking to these guys literally from the beginning of these films. I was I was at the ironman one junket interviewed Downey, and Fabbro and Gwyneth. I remember. Yes. And Terrence Howard back then. And so I go all the way back to the beginning of of this crazy saga of marvel films. So we're gonna roll out some early interviews. I did with the main players on again, TV news is social channels. So look out for those. I guess that's all there is the say right now, I guess I want to say, I hope you enjoy this conversation with Jodie Comber there. No spoilers than it. We tape. This a couple of weeks a pack when she was in town for context that will say the the third season of killing. You've had just been announced when she walked into my office literally that morning like an hour to before. So I congratulate her on that they're no spoilers for the season. Really? I think we allude to some events in the first two episodes. But nothing very specific. And by now, I think I think we're onto the third episode in real time anyway, so no spoilers here. If you've seen the show, I think you're going to enjoy this. If you haven't seen the show, you're probably going to be delighted by Jody and want to check it out. It's on BBC America, go seek it out. If you haven't yet, I've binged the first season like in no time, and I guess enjoyed this conversation with Jodie remember to review ratings of scribe too happy. Second fused spread the good word. Here is. We go. Can you feel the magic air? Jody. It's it's the tingles there on the fingertips. I think the tingles are there because as we tape this breaking news to we actually just seen in the lift. Like, a little Televisa television screen, and it was like breaking. In the middle of the say the world falling apart. The good news is killing is coming back. Three is everyone. Hold on. Yeah. Given the tip off for this announcement. Yeah. Good actor you can keep these secrets to secrecy only like a couple of days here though Sunday. Yeah..

"The. Today on happy infused Jody Comber on landing a career making role killing it on killing eve and yet still living at home. Hey, guys. I'm Josh Horowitz. Welcome to another edition of happy said confused. Welcome to a lovely delightful conversation with an up and comer by the name of Jodie Comber aka villa now on killing if you've seen killing eve, you understand why when given the opportunity I jumped at the chance of talking to Jody this is as I said a truly career making role. She is unbelievable on this show. Opposite, sandra. Oh is in its second season. It has already been renewed for a third season, and Jodie just pops off the screen as this enigmatic. Bizarre assassin, and it's it is it's the start. I think of. A very interesting cool career, and it was a lovely opportunity to get to know Jodi at this very interesting juncture for her, and as I said as I ripped her in the intro, and as a rib her in the conversation Jody still living at home. She like she's about twenty six. So it's fine. She's still leaves still figuring it out. She's got time. She's making it work. She's happy if she's happy, I'm happy. So I really I really felt like I clicked with Jodie immediately. I think you guys will get why she has a great sense of humor and a good head on her shoulders, and is so super talented to boot. So I think you guys will enjoy this conversation very very much elsewhere in the Josh Horowitz, pop culture universe. Well, we are on the eve of I guess it has to be the movie end of the year. I mean, we do have we do have the rise of Skywalker in December. But until then. It's gotta be all about vendors and game of enter done game of courses. The twenty second marvel cinematic universe film is the culmination of phase three in the first three phases of the marvel films. Don't worry no spoilers here. But guys just saw. I just saw the movie I really can't say anything. I don't want to say anything except say this will I think is so live up to your expectations. I mean, I avoided spoilers. They are out. There be be wary out there. I would just recommend avoiding as much information at all costs waited this long. Why ruin it? Now, it's an emotional film. It's an epic film and kind of want to say, I wanna talk to you guys after we all see it. So they'll be weeks and weeks of conversation about this movie because there are major events in this film. But just know that it's I think it's going to live up to. The hype for a lot of people I've quibbles like I did with Infinity war. But for the most part, I'm happy, and I think a lot of people will be so look forward to that. We'll talk about that on this podcast in the weeks to come. But also, I did get a chance to talk to the vendors and game cast, or at least a much most of them recently..

"My eyes have been open to the fuck tho-. It's not all about your actor and. In a sense of people making choices. There are a lot of different elements that go toward someone getting a role and a lot of those tweezers are all of my control and the quicker. I let go of our except. The more peace. I myself. Do you say to take it person? Because. No, I'll be lying if I said, oh, I'm completely numb to get an apart. Because they're parts of radio one's not gar. If you do you wouldn't be human. Exactly, exactly. Of course. There is always an Felim people. It's just not as intense. You know, I can get on with. I get on with my day or I can when I was younger. I be like ring my my TV toe take any feedback. Many Eddie Solovyov know. Yes. No. Maybe like. Where does now I don't feel the need to to do the, and I'm also really okay with with with not getting a yes, or no, you know, this this conversation that's happened about actors should kinda which I do. I agree with you know, it's like a respectful thing to just be told. Yes, or no. And you can move on. I actually don't don't mind. Unless it's something. I'm obviously. Yet with on a whole, okay knows the Pemba. What it is that? I'm doing all probably who I'm meeting. I just try to join them. I can't remember who who said that. I was reading an interview with a with an actor. And he said that they just try and see it as the opportunity to do some then, you know, like enjoy it, and how form with it rather than I've had moments where I haven't worked for like a long time. I wanna say long time is probably not very long to or the people say like seven months, then I'd go into an audition. And I remember the customer I read this like saying to my agent. The. She felt like my like I was a bit down. Or like, I was often. What wide realized is that it was like I was going into a dishes feeling like I needed. You know, like this, of course. Yeah. That really took me back because I was like only God let you know. I'm bouncing in the room. Like, hey, guys can just. Ready like, and they obviously just see 'em. So that was quite attained and point as well because I thought right? I need I need to a target is when you when you out of whack you am you can't go into it me, neither because you know, when you do chemistry with people, and you will when you were with or the actors the energy that they bring into a room is so talent, you know. And with each pairs not walks out in a new person comes in. It's the chef is insane. I really like who they and I like to feel like I've got a grasp of the character. And then like a hate cell tapes when I was growing to about. You know, your side before her off the thing about getting the job is the somebody elements to it. Bagel is may in the people that you're going to be working with producer, the director there that you. If you have got a compliciting you've got rapport. Oh, that's good. Warren thing tech. And then you do the hot will not work. And so the his this could all work. Yeah. Whereas type it just depends on that specific moment, meet them. But depends on how how you choose to play. It. You know, I think that's the most fun thing about an actor director relationship. Whether it be in an audition..

"Your follow in your popularity is can be a huge part of not the sole reason a huge aspect of why you gotta roll. And I think actors have a danger of them partner focus towards that side of things. Lose his focus. Yeah. I know I see I see term like actors on actresses like attendant events, and they attend the more events than I see them on. You know? And and obviously that you know, you we coincide what jobs we get when we got them both. I think the that's something that I definitely don't want to do because I think like you say if you are attending events than your focus is somewhere completely different than where to big. Put a brand while we're glad. Because. I'll tell you is of of my vote. I was quite a fan of his today though. But this is a lot of his intentions exactly all who who's around going. This is what you need to do to become something when I don't think you think your work creates work. And you know, I'm a big believer in that word work. Interesting. Things will calm if you work hard, and you work with great people. And then I was thinking as I always know those thinking about the sixteen year olds who own dramas on try don't wanna get or call and get into dramas golden, they might look up to that to that. Oh, well in this world of social media reality TV. Maybe that's why I need to I need to become Brian. I think there's no way of less than that way. You know? I think those people will always be filtered out at some points because I just think you can't do this not be over there. All I mean, some people do evidently, I dunno know, I just think if you if you your integrity than you, very easily lose lose your way think integrity is kind of everything. Yeah. I was with a another actor from the money's my age on we with the old actor a job, and my friend called it. And it was asking questions about his career on the old actor was like Korea. This is the problem with you youths. You call it a career, and I was like that always baffled me because you know, this is alternately a career. And I'm not really kind of stone goes in a way we were like, oh my God. What does? What what does does that mean that we call this career? He was kind of ready. Doc. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. In quite a funded that your call. It wasn't offended. It was more. Like you. You know, you your guns in your career and are for club patronize. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Though goodness show. You should be shouldn't Bennett because. To be honest. I think it is. As much as we don't want to call this our job because it's it's so much fun on. It's everything that we love. But ultimately, it is it's how you know. It's it's how you and your liver career your job. Like that is just that's matter of fact. Right. Well, I think so, but he sounds like one of these actors that. Lives for it. Yeah. Would never say no one of those. I can never take a holiday in case a John and take holiday Southie to switch off and saying God live your life. That's another thing. I'm like Lin and his in order to pull any sort of truth into your to your act, then you've to live and it experience and made mistakes and both those. Yeah, that's my excuse. Presented twenty years. So all the acting. How can you recall? Work if you're left. Yeah. Career causes Carino by now. And speaking of this grant. So I was still getting calm. The. From the. How are you? Don't sion's. I'm okay. You know? Hype it too. I've got I think ever again with age as you get older. It just becomes a lot easier. I'm so much better. Now in switching off when I leave the room road. And I'll have like twenty minutes when I leave government. Oh my God. Why say that line like thought went actually this is probably our said or whatever I think, I'm..

"Thank you, so funny when when I don't apply in and in Yorkshire with 'em Michael Palin, dodges huge like Monty python? I was getting into view through at once. And there was one night that we haven't been Michael at comments the restaurants asking if he wants to sit down enough in whatever sweet day dinner, and it was a lovely when I was getting interviewed at told the interviewer actually like, oh, how was it working with them a bubble? And then it got ten Ron to be like Michael Palin takes Jody on her family for big meal. Like. I got the Bill. Always remember this is so funny. But like just things like that people. Switch around. If it whatever we end bull. I mean, that's all it sometimes because you do think. You trust goes sometimes many go deeper that could go somewhere to a dark place. Will that didn't happen. Yeah. Well, it's also the thing of like being honest. You want to be honest. But yeah, you don't have on us you where you want to be honest. But you don't want to be honest, where it's going to affect who you are or your life for the perception of really because that's not right? I think as well, especially like with like interviews and still when they thank Ashley pay small questions like what is going on in your own life. Whether it be like partners, or whatever. You know? You'd probably just we need to shut down. Otherwise, it's all very well and good promote in what you're doing all compensation lot that which Folklife rack because you know, I'm not going so tell me. Cuss? Great. Exclusive right now. Say. I want to do some green Sesay com. Jio? Anyway, so say if you go right, I'm going to do a six month stint. I'm going to be awhile Noguchi, visit is repaired. Because now whenever I go I go first weeks as in like a nun. Do you ever get quite homesick because you seem? Yeah. Yeah. I do I usually like a four five week period. And then I just know when I need to just go in through couple of days. Those recharge the batteries going on. I just think. This just something nor you know. Like, I say, I spend a lot of time on my own my own choice because you know, what it's like foam. And it's you can't even go the toilet Wilson someone following year layer. So sometimes we get off from during the job. I am so engine. So sometimes I'm like dude just wanna be on my own. But I'm this you'd I've tried to stay down. Just to try enjoyed a bit more because in very put up in an apartment in really nice area on my I should actually make the most of this while I'm here. Down. Yeah. Gay friends been down only finally without some they actually are the rooster. Beautiful. And. Yeah. And it's it's nice for them to to see what's going on even though like whenever I have brought my moment to set. But like this this. Oh, you do. Like opening codes for like an hour. We're going to get back the hotel lake. Yeah. Tell you. Exactly for. Yeah. My belly's from Lincoln, you Ila. I'm trying hold the. Have you not an? I scramble there. The failure runs to the game on the side. Should've actually spent that money on food or importantly includes Jody it's been lovely. Thank you. This is not the end of the episode. Do not press. Stop. I need to tell you something. I need to be honest with you. Okay. So what happened Jodi came to me and? Set myself a ridiculous task of record in five episodes in the space at twenty four hours, and my brain was shot. My brain was that I couldn't take it anymore stories. So what happened when Jody left house thinking about on a considerable night because it was gonna that's gonna finished episode. That's not. That's not right. I can't put out because he's not complete so spoke to Jody about it. And she came back at she came up to me in Kensington, and we finished off and we had a right? Good neta. So that explains why this part sounds a bit difference. But this is the complete episode. Let's get back to it with Jodi coma..

"No. I'm definitely more. Like, if I know if I read the script, I'm like, no, I don't call connected. They up forever reason, I say to my agent if you think I'm being stupid, or if I'm not seeing something that you are then let me know. Somebody that you true, exactly. A? Am. No. I definitely do think. If you just stop to actually listen to yourself, if you she probably got the Unser. Did you start six than dropout? Now, I finished a holistic foam, why wasn't a particularly I think because. One six foam again, not like university, but you will left up to your own devices to do the work. Disciplined. And also because I've been doing that jobs even there I'd like either taste for walk. I wanted to do. So then everything else. Just was a disinterest, you know, flows out really only gotta be able I I really want to be doing this. I know that I can do this. If I really try and suppose that point you've made that decision that this is kind of the path that you wanna go what you wanna do. Yes. Why above other? Yeah. Put in that twenty percent of energy into this. What it's going to turn out to be shit. Come under percent with it. Yeah. I think that's what it was. Stake while you know, if done a couple of jobs in nine no, that's what I definitely want to do. You know, I don't do. Well, I think that's why like when I was I was like when I maintain a move into London. And I'm doing musical theater around gonna be on the West End. And then I kind of just really Acton. You know, some people go to drama school. And it's the best thing for them. But I think in my add the thought of. Of kind of being in a room. Even though it is, you know, physical whatever other elements. They're off doing that from seven till seven. I don't think I would have of coped well in the environment. Yeah. It was always something that I just. Didn't feel right to me in myself. You know, what I mean of respect for people who do it under a lot of times that it wish I add everybody goes down different training. You've been picking things up. Yeah. For probably from that first radio play. Yeah. After belies generating. Yeah. That's true. Via do this. A safe you feel safe doom? What you do? But knowing that you live where you live. And I don't I don't necessarily mean that you live with you live where you were born you live back into the pool. So the something about home. I give me wrong this L. I love home for my family. My friends. I'm what I love on Hayes is that nothing ever changes in. What was in a sense of of of the p the same people are always the role doing this? They're doing the same things. And that's something that I love to go back to. But it's also something that if I'm not way while. Based thing that I wanna get away from. And so I think it's the familiar rally, you know, and. It is definitely a bubble for me. When I can go back in and. What do you find hard? What did you find difficult about something that you've chosen to do that you love because? Different things for different people, all the total. I think. Apart from that police sirens. What I think the most is what I'm trying to lay actually is every comes with it as in like the, publicity and the press side of the things that the job they signed on for isn't over when the comer start, right? Yes. This lot another this this whole of the well, I miss this thing of of. Of doing interviews as yourself on people. Just the wailed seeing you as you on Holland say about, you know, when I think especially kind of land in how to do interviews and how to respond correctly, and what's the right thing to say. And and. Opinion of horse. Yeah. They would want to. Yeah. Exactly. But I think. 'cause I remember my first shoots. I was just so rigid with fear like. Like. With this girl, by didn't know what to do. I was just the whole of the whale to me. And what is completely different of being the nets in front of a camera. Yes, you're happy. And so.
