"In the start so that last start with something for a long so that could be something that would be good for him And ultimately you this race where i just feel like taking the shot and i've been taking shots in several races this week just for the sake of taking shots in them which i normally don't do but i looked at this horse and there was something about him that i can't really explain the best way but i just liked him something about him. So that's why i'm going with this horse again. That's a very bad reason. I pick him because i like him. Why do i like him. Because i do. But that's just how i feel with this horse for me. I'm going to be going. Probably the most hazard american horse in this race and that's the one dripping bowled four shook mcgahey thurs in this horses series because of limited liability. Shouldn't engage other really nice turf to euro He ran into whip with anticipation said that we should go over for other reasons. I want to dive into phone is dripping. Gold shows up here but it is a great one. One that the owners west point thoroughbreds have won a couple of times over the past years. Actually maybe this will continue the trend. In every other year thing team domain twenty seventeen get credited mater twenty nine maybe twenty twenty one a dripping again and then joel storrow always writes well woodbine but the biggest thing with this horse was that made it when at saratoga really really strong. I'm not gonna call this professional because if you if you saw in the paddock. Kick assistant trainer in the instep on jockey. Hozeal lozano's foot So he's got a professional. Moore's means but when he when he actually raises he's a very nice horse on the. You was a very strong win. really good starting point for dripping gold nineteen. He can do the same on in this spot. I'm terrified of albar for a you charlie. Appleby godolphin horses went three races in a real. I mean that's all you really gotta know. Now he comes over here so he might just be that much better than everybody else. But i i genuinely tripping. Gold is one of the best cheryl's on the grass in this country. Top three So i think it's going to be a big big performance from him but now they performance might not be enough for stigma performances. Albar nine on. I don't really know. But i want to take my shot against him with dripping goal and with that being mentioned that's going to be for this week's episode. We're going to cut it here number one because we've gotten through all the races but What we'll say. One thing that i do just want wanna bring a quick late to has been announced. Its skydiver is not going to race again until the sale in november. Which probably means. She's retired but we're not gonna address her. We'll talk about her after the keeneland november sale and whether or not You know when the decision is finalized whether or not she will run again or she will become a broodmare but that is one of the big news in racing this weekend or this past week and that being mentioned. That's it for this episode. We'll see you next time..

"Why not cake a shot tactically. He's going to be able to control from the outset. He is a cure ski horse. You will absolutely burn on the run as long as he gets away. Clean the you'll be there and there's really no that's going to press him. I mean a lot of these horses or closer-knit tag types. They're not gonna wanna be near the league. Maybe this exchange of control but she is not little a call. North raises the only reason. She's going to be four lead places because he stretching sprints tour to the mile here so for town crews. He's never missed the board that would bind deprecates. The board on the grassy went back to back. Allowance is really nicely. This summer including one june might add the runner-up in that race english conqueror. He's running into canadian. International was in the field behind carelli. Last time he was third in the breeders stakes Last the last leg of the canadian trip grabs at a good horse in the horse that was third and allowances had asa last week on the principles which is the second leg of the canadian trump card. So this horse to that. Were running incredibly well in the canadian triple. Crown wins allowance after that last time out in the king. Edward that's great to You went a little quicker than he needed to. I think if you you know it was a kind of on his own accord shoes on kievan presser challengers. If you can get real you know. The writer dies komodo who really good shape to at least at the board. I think this as a lot of talent he's gonna like. I said hold a tactical damage and he loves to track. And he's he's a really good racehorse as seen numbers last expecting a really big run from. I don't know if he's a winner. I want him to be the winner. Because he's going to big price and all those good things. But i think no matter what he's gonna run a strong race and we're going to move onto the two great ones that would bind coming up this weekend on sunday and this is actually the race by mundi. Take my first european. There's a lot of grass races with europeans coming over up. But this is the first source. Who's european horse. And that is wild beauty for charlie. Appleby frankie dettori ship and into ride this horse. So he must think that she's worth a shot here. But she's got two placings in stakes over in europe and eric made his point earlier about a couple of horses. In the tur- triple series. You know horses that run well in those states over there getting slate class break and you know these are. These are pretty good. Filly so i don't want to say that. This is a complete class break for her and she's gonna roll all over them but she's been knocking on the door there and she's getting to the competition up at woodbine that that's a good indication for me and you know you also have to love that frankie dettori shipping into ride her and obviously charlie applebee's taking her out to north america for a race like this so first european that i'm going to pick And she'll be my pick. maybe she goes off Pretty close to favored. But you know. I'm not going to be too concerned about that because i have picked my fair share longshots this weekend. It only be going one of mark kassy's four year but one that i think might end up being the force choice out of the out of the out of runners valley's third choice no higher than that. The marquess Cardio princess japanese bread of i japanese. Ira heart's cry out of the stars there. Let's talk pedigree real quick with this. Obviously like i just said arts crowd on the topside. See the stars on the bottom side. The average winning distance for arts crafts spring is nine furlongs. Do you ever doing distance stars as a damn shire is ten and a half for loss this really broker meeting going five key probably like with really earlier was wondering where the where more ground was. Because she's wanting to run all day and she somehow broker maiden going five for now she gets to go on which is probably still too short for her but nevertheless the facts you to do that. so impressed. Legal wire-to-wire her five along race isn't a lot of confidence that she has a lot of genuine raw talent and she just eats distance to really you know let it shine through on but didn't come comeback. It's not like he was the most veasley impressive performance showing by three quarters of a length. But it's all building up to getting this more distance that she's going to be getting on sunday so i'm really excited for her another horse that's going to be in really good position tactically. Where she's going to be on the lead and no one else is going to be around her. So i if i'm hoping she can be a pretty decent price and convenient run integrates i'm very taunting cardio princess serenity grace dylan thomas. And now we're going to move onto the final race of we're going to preview. Which is the summer stakes. And this race on another one like the nets alma. This is a a very deep raises a lot of different routes. You can go with it in this race. I'm gonna take another horse. It's probably going to be a bit of a long shot. But you know. I i have been leaning more towards the longshots this episode and the horse that i ultimately did settle on was degree of risk for own hardy. And this is a horse who has been running Typical owen hardy horse early in their career. Running couple starts at arlington broke his maiden at arlington and then rain a strong second in the all weather In an all weather race up woodbine he was only beaten a length in that recent stretching out to a mile.

"Pick against her in this race. She's going to be my pick in here and and listen. I kind of disagree on life. But i think that this might be the wore neck We old probably more differing opinions on any horse out there. At least that. I can remember them and honestly i didn't really like until the past few weeks when the truce go one the personal I mentioned she's a devil and then obviously leading up to this race. Excuse like she's forgotten. Honestly i i don't i haven't seen many people talk about you. Know it's there has been really really good on one girl who you know. We don't really know what her hercules where she might be making her next start but of course she's been the champion for so long agency. Still the face of the brad cox born on the female side so of course she's gonna take the attention to the yes side. I was just one of america's sweethearts now throughout the three year. It's all over the place. It makes sense that people would give her the attention that she deserved. They have it in. We're talking only dima troops to this year. We're talking about a horse gently could win this race. And then if she does welling up the breeders distaff sue win. We could be looking at a horse that supplants the truth from night. Champion older female. You know trophy for the eclipse award's so that's just something to think about. In my opinion. I think that you know outside amount of this has the best chance to win the breeders stuff to a staff and i'm going to buy new different big way. If she takes care of business here in terms of the breeder stuff were beaten all that. I'd never taken against without you know that Regular listener but this is a was it a legitimately run a big race Come breeders cup. Time should see him. You know complete all the steps to get there but at least you dead trees even before this race. She should handle this find. Then have a big chance of reader stuff time and now we're going to move onto We're gonna go north of the border now and talk about the great ones at buy a very nice car at woodbine Up up this weekend It if you're looking at racist other than the great ones definitely worth If you are taking a break from playing belmont churchill definitely worth playing these racist. We'll get into the. We'll get into the great one before the woodbine mile. We'll get to the canadian. International in this race is you know. It's definitely odd to see some of these horses. That are you know lower tier american grade one like lower voices that would run in grade one ungraded stakes races. But not really have too much of a chance in and then you also have some ontario bread spellcheck. One leg of the canadian triple crown last year so local horses mixed in with some interesting horses from the united states. The horse i'm going to be going with the in here is mike maker. You can't go wrong with mike maker these days and that is bluegrass parkway. He scratched out of the turf cup. But he did win the previ- rates for this at ellis park and you know only has two wins on the year. So little bit harry with that but he is coming out of a race. It did give him nice form going into this. So that's certainly something that's encouraging and at the end of the day it's mike maker. Why not take your shot with this horse. Yes this is a. This is a good race. I legitimately see all the one of these horses winning. Maybe two of them on. That's how even it is. But i bought into corelli after the spill Late august last month Even though we didn't really talk about the race I thought this was a massive step where they finally got him to just to. This is a horse who wants to go as long as he can. And they've been running a mile and sixteenth mile eight the mile all these distance that is easily probably out there wondering where the hell is more ground. I i wanna keep running. We got done in the field for this to be the great one. He gets debase. His next start is dog a huge lead to the connected because he has a big chance to win in my opinion. That's obviously going to be my pick worried about how they're going to set up. There isn't exactly much speed in here but you know that's been the case in some of his wins. I'm not especially a little take care of business. Oh hopefully he can do it again. hoping big run from corral. And now we're gonna move on to The the big race on this would woodbine card. The molson million. I'm just kidding. It's woodbine mile in this race is a very good edition of the woodbine mile. There's a lot of horses that you know. Maybe they're not Breeders cup mile win type horses but these are all horses that you hope to see in the breeders cup mile and if you if you get the half or even more this field in the breeders cup mile that makes for a field that has a lot of depth. This was definitely a tough race to look at. I was for longest time thinking. I was going to go with set-piece because set pieces just been so good And this looks like a very good opportunity for him to step out in get his grade one win that he's been trying so hard to get this year but Write a comment is a horse. That i've been picking Many times throughout the year and it just feels wrong to not pick him in this race and the the thing that is definitely very encouraging for me as he has two wins over the course of woodbine he's four four but the other two racists were on the all weather surface so i'm more looking at his two wins on the turf but those were both winds on the turf course. We're in two thousand eighteen so very long time ago but he does have the experience of the surfaces and he's been running really well in the united states kill role. Mile is something you know. We're not gonna talk about what happened there but very nice second place finish. In the maker's mark mile at keeneland turf classic churchill absolute blanket. Finish not reading into the ninth-place finish there at all. And then he ranked rate in the wise dan at churchill. Downs as well so He has three really nice races under him. And it's you don't usually say that about a ninth-place finish in a great one. But that was a nice race for him. Three nights races since the disaster the kiro and he also has a another great. Excuse me not another greatest stakes when just aac rated stakes when to his credit but to greatest six placings following that so Very nice horse likes woodbine. And i've been picking him a lot this year and i would like to see him get his grade one. Because i've been hoping to see him breakthrough at some point. This looks like his best opportunity to to this point and for me. This is going to be my biggest shot of the weekend. Picking one of the longest shots on board long this price at twenty one. That's a horse from the real town. Proves this is a really nice words and the wide open race like this..

last year ninth-place united states second place two six placings twenty one ellis park Three nights One leg two thousand three year america four sixteenth mile two wins one girl two racists Late august last month this year

"Because that's just how it always has to happen but lemieux we're talking about a year who is know main third asking last night. It was impressive. We do have to remember in this. Probably pays plays a big factor that morning line price. It would only against two other horses off the turf race at saratoga. But it very very impressive professional wire-to-wire score your two races before that she was second behind happy soul initiative Those are two stakes winners this year. Both very good stakes enters this year. I might add misinterpret took off the turf. Pd johnson and having so one the story back in june so so to loose those horses going ashore distance than this philly which is another reason. I'm picking her because that She's very big rangy. She wants those two turns. I'm really excited to see your do this. Because we listen to those horses at those distances. No shame really. Nice to get off the mark. Sure even though it was against the horses and she's going to be able to take it out to a distance she's really like I know i if you've listened long enough. You know how much i look. Nyquist uncle mo lineage. Getting onto turns for. The first time cheats that bill anti should be controlling speed in this or at least brighter in the fray and they shouldn't go to quickly on if i if i'm pulling out a comparison You go back to sharing a couple. Years ago to broker meeting. In an auditor race at certain toga really small field but did it. Visually impressively and one by a large margin. She went on to win a state center. Next wasn't even favored in that race. It was a turf race but it was going to turn all those things and then of course. He turned that into a breeder stuff. When i'm not saying lemieux's a breeder stop winner but that progress is really really pretty to see because it's very similar to horse. That obviously went on to do big things. And i can see doing the same. And now we're going to move on to the iroquois stakes which is the first point race for the kentucky. Derby also has that breeders cup tag for it to and i'm gonna go with a theme for the iroquois that has been the past couple of years for and last year was very notable for us is. Eric did pick a big price winner this race last year. If you remember sitting on goal was twenty something to one When this racist ran on kentucky derby day last year and also Sticking with the theme of this one particular trainer dale. Romans has won this race several many times in his career. I don't know what the exact number is. But if he doesn't have the record he he's pretty close to it and the reason i'm going to go with red knobs in this racist because his first career start off the board finish That was an off deter free or the tv. that was a turf race at kentucky. Down or not excusing kentucky. Downs ellis park but second career start another race. That came off the turf but This race was a mile on the dirt so nice effort for him there and you know that's the kind of i don't want to say because he doesn't have he has the one start on the turf didn't work out for him. He came off the turpin won by six and a quarter links. Metrics aren't going to be super pretty and it with its two year olds going a mile early in their careers so that time is never going to be super pretty but you know it was a very nice victory for him six and a quarter links and he is a rather big price in the morning line so why not take a shot in this racist tends to blow up sometimes especially with what happened last year. So i'm gonna take my shot with red knobs in this race and i can't blame the this was one of the top raises of the weekend for me. I did like a lot of them. I will say though. I ultimately came down to three horses that i thought honestly. I didn't just help a bit more of an advantage than everybody else. That's steve asmussen do stellar tapping gun town and then eight major general for I know they're all the lower prices but just on paper at visually. They've done a lot of good things. I'm actually going to go with the longer. Price of of steve asmussen duo in town. And i really. It's really just. Because i really liked the idea of him going to turn more than anyone else. In this race this a horseshoe Ease amend wants alumni I compared it actually to midnight bourbon On the episode where recovered and it makes sense. You know i start. You do some good things but it. You had to figure some things out mentally and the race. The distances worn awesome for you. All those things next time now mile and he just ran a big resorts with an excellent pedigree by gunrunner out of the same mad at produced that champion on tap. -able so he's got a lot going for him so amount of sixteen invest really. Were just gonna seem yes started. Brees gonna get revved up. And i think you should be able to a good trip not beyond the pace because there are some a lot of speed and your that does benefit. Jack's red knobs. I think anyone in here which is why i like that big a lot but i just feel a little safer with gun count. Plus of course these connections this pedigree. It's been it's been hot over the past month or so so why not try and keep it rolling with gun town. I think that he has a big chance. And you're also worth noting though. I do think the ten husband material. If you're looking for another long-shot because jack has a good one i think husband material might be netherlands two-horse who've been working really nicely another worse beat a small yulon debuted. But he won't like twenty lanes and it was very very very nice win for husband the chair so navy navy one to look at. If you're looking for another big price and now we're going to move on to the final race from churchill downs this upcoming weekend and that's a locust grove stakes this race. Not really too much a t to look into. We know she. Devil is probably the second best female country at this point in a. You know depending on who you ask. Eric might argue that. She's the best older female in the country. But you know whether whether she's one or two she is one of the better ones. She's got to great one wins this year And she's also undefeated over the surface at churchill. Downs and the kentucky oaks winner. So i'm not going to be foolish..

Eric two six last year steve asmussen two races last night three horses this year Both two year lemieux second two-horse two stakes second career Pd johnson first career netherlands june

"Nowhere near a softer heavy as it is over there. It's gonna go a long way for. I really liked her in the spotlight. Love the distance at all adds upper lightings easily the best of the europeans even more so than create flair. Who i think could take a lot of money. But i genuinely think she's the best horse in this race and now we're going to move onto the jockey club derby another race that i didn't have to think long Very long to pick this race and that that horse on. I'm going to be picking soldier rising soldier rising. I've loved his effort that he had in the saratoga. Eric and i have been talking about how well we've played Racing run on collectively. Hip played the church triple series. And i don't like to gloat about things because that's not the way that i believe that the podcast should be taken out. We should carrier salts on the podcast. But you know we have had a lot of success with near-term triple series in soldier. Rising was part of that and his effort. Last time i start. Us was he did more than more than i was expecting to see from him and i was expecting him to hit the board in the rate so that goes to show you how impressive that was. That was going a mile and three sixteenths. He's getting a mile and a half in this race. I absolutely love soldier. Rising in this recent again. Another race. That i did not have to think very long. I just needed to make sure he was entered. He's my pick. And i'm hoping that that streak with us playing this race well continues and i'm going to be going with the chalk. The favorite here are the likely. I should say For godolphin charlie appleby. That's you'd beer listening. This is a very good source You've done a lot of good things and each got really good company. I'm especially in twenty twenty one to last three starts all them being group stations. Only bad was overseeing soft ground at goodwood ally and even earlier they're using satellites of draw or loan and l. drama who is one of the favorites for the darby on beaten less than a link in the classic trial of group three Last or eight april. Excuse me that race featured at a yard one of the best horses in europe right now and just emphasize the winner that group to last another great voyager. You won this race. You look at the last ten years of this race in nearly every single one of those horses as long to win group wants following following night success in industry too so he's coming from a historically very strong race not just when it comes to dropping company or anything like that. I'm talking about legitimate. high grave. Group wants at these horses are winning so he. He's a really good horse. It's kind of rare that we get a horse like this coming over. Especially qarase's i know it's a million dollars but has no greater affiliation to it so He's taken his in here. That was second in that race ring. Third and the st leger so easiest is an absolute standout. I don't blame anyone else for taking a shot against because it's not like you know there's bad horses industries step soldier rising absolutely hughes last time. Now we get also valley back over back on the sort of steady dominated in the douaumont. Derby interesting longshots in my opinion but i just think be had you know has a big advantage coming into this class. He's been keeping and getting this little class drop and super ideal conditions on my own half on the in the firm ground used absolutely love. So now we're going to move on to the first kentucky derby points races on the schedule for the two thousand twenty two kentucky derby and believe me that does not feel like it's something that should be being said right now the fact that we're already getting into the twenty twenty two kentucky. Derby trail does not feel right. But you know this race does carry ten points toward it in a more importantly this is a cup race. Breeders cup implications definitely will matter more in the short term than than the the points will for the oaks but in terms of this race. The good thing about these churchill downs two year old races is that there's no real stand up for them and they both have large fields and large fields with two year olds. I definitely does play well to betting this race. Oh these two races are going to be definitely great racist tibetan. Affiliate that i'm going to go with in the pocahontas is The pletcher philly got us a fire. a mineshaft horse and she. She is air coming out of her her first career victory so not undefeated but she was a i out winter and it was not a very visually impressive victory but it was a nice enough win for her Her time was pretty good at least under my metrics of it and then also race. Where i'm taking a mild shot in this race. She six to one in the morning line that could float up or down probably will go down a little bit given the name attached to her trainer. But i'm taking shots. In both of these two year old races churchill downs. So why not go. The horse that has kind of effort has a strong effort over traffic saratoga. That got us afire does have in this race. I'm going with a horseshoe. I'm a little surprised at her morning. Line odds tend to one bit higher than i would've thought but if she wants to hang around there be a little higher Seeking will be my guest. That's commu for mark. cassie east austin texas weekend marquette. He'd be having a gigantic My me he doesn't want to raise it even if he had one ornery..

Eric europe ten points six each two year second a mile and a half first career both charlie appleby one Third group three mark two year old thousand twenty two kentucky d twenty twenty one a mile and two races

"It was a scout forty vile by a lot of metrics in all margins. But at the same time jackie well. There's a reason that he was able to break through on this stage and that's because he was able to get away from you know the top horses individuality sources that ran. Well they got away from from you know the goes in domestic spending in tribute and the day room to run in a race linked this and in the big person You know get the ticket. Punch bring parador. He's a nice horse You know maybe it's time to peel. Comes up a little lighter not as many euros. Come over you know. There's still a month and a half. The photo and domestic spending are likely still having to run one more preparation ups things contained. You know in the next six six or so weeks six or seven weeks but turnout incurred or is definitely second rate on the like i said. May maybe you will find an angle. Cumbria's he is your arklow you. I have seen people complaining that he got a bad ride. And that's why he lost sturdy. Walk george that might be the case but at the same time it's our clothing. He does not have a big. He's not fond of winning himself. And then of course you you go to horse channel cat. he'll probably bounce back and win another big race at some point just because that's all he does but i think in terms of twenty twenty one where he's going to be pointed to from here on out You can you can write off so now. We are going to move on in preview the races upcoming this week. And we're not gonna do buy sell hold just because the sample size is just not large enough for us to be able to do it. But we are going to get into. We got three tracks. Were going to be doing in four very nice days of racing that we're going to get into in the first one that we're going to get into is belmont park and we'll talk about the three races. The first one the grand prix. American jockey club stakes long name and i love racist with long names. Of course i'm being procedures there but this is featuring the who over the past couple of months is bent has come out really a star standout horse in this division lone rock and you look at what he's done in his past couple of races Obviously the big victory on belmont stakes day in brooklyn he won the bird stone at saratoga and even earlier He won the isaac murphy overnight another marathon race at churchill downs kentucky derby week so this is a horse who absolutely loves these distances and i believe the birds was a mile and three quarter. So he's actually. I might be wrong in this. I do apologize if i am i. Math is not great. But i do believe he's cutting back in this race from a mile and three quarters to a mile and five eighths. Not very often. You hear that said about a dirt horse in the united states but you know no indication that long rock has fallen off at actually the exact opposite that was you know status quo for this horse this year. So i'm certainly knocked foolish. Pick against him this time like it did last time either. I think he should big race. Here i'm discontinuing dominance. He likes a lot. We knew that for his win in the brooklyn these best career performance Visually something the numbers come back a little higher on other starts. But we're being very very nice horse on chill looking person value underneath the to chris and dave run a big one. He's a horse. he's always kind of big loping type. He's never done. They had to go this distance. But i think that this would be a reset you know because you need to find some value otherwise now it'd be true guides at in christian david hit the board might be that worse. So now we're going to move onto the final leg of the new york turf triple for the phillies are. And that's the jockey cowpokes of you've been listening to recent run on the past couple of times talked about the new york triple series You should know exactly where i'm going with this race. I didn't even have to look. I should say. I had to look at this rate. Just wants to make sure that higher truth was entered here. And she's going to be going with here. I absolutely love truth in here Her last two runs in the belmont in saratoga folks have been fantastic belmont oaks. I the way. I've been looking at the new york turk triple in terms of the americans versus santa barbara. I've just taken santa barbara out of the picture Just evaluated the american horses based on how they did against each other and higher truth was i believe a head or nose away from being the winner of the belmont oaks back in the saratoga oaks and coal nima just walked on the lead. That's book only madonna's but higher truth ran very well behind her. She loves a mile and a quarter. She loves belmont park. She getting getting out to a mile and three eighths in this distant. So i imagine that that's gonna do the trick for her. And like i said the two things in her corner belmont park a mile and three eighths. Absolutely love higher truth in here. I don't care she'll be the favorite. She's my horse. And i did not have to think very long about this and for me. I'm gonna be going with one of the european shippers ours youtube for andre fob. I mean when it comes to these european races and it's kind of a consistent pattern especially with these three billion when you consider a race the belmont oats or d. races like that is who are always knocking on the door in europe and then come to the. Us slight class break and they were put on a big. The nasdaq attitude. Last year fell on oaks. And i think you're going to get the same performance here for his uku. We're talking about a horseshoe. She hasn't won since may which was still a very good win. It was great to recruit three win but go to pass raising. While she hasn't the board. Being linked happen to predetermine in beating a combined two and a half snakes in her last starts breadsticks groups takes performances in older. Another big thing Her career wins have come over the ground while over worst forms of come over softer heavier crown So i think that come to you.

"Not really that strong of a division anyway so i don't really again. I don't really know that there's too many huge things for her going forward but this is a nice win for her. And she's a solid racehorse The other race for the females at kentucky downs was one by princess grace whose rapidly turning into she she always was a very consistent but she's rapidly turning into a horse who can be sneaky on the grade one level and you know. I know eric hates that term. I'm not the. I'm not a huge fan of that term but i'm gonna use it spiritually because she could be. The kind of horse gets overlooked in that race. I think rather easily because of other big names. And she hasn't won a grade one yet and she hasn't really been in any of those big grade one races so that could certainly be reason why she may be overlooked. But grace's like the first lady matriarch have to be next for her because she's proven herself at this level and she's clearly a talented horse and then the final race that we're not going to get into the franklin simpson. Which was won by lear jet. Now we'll get into the to racist that we are going to get into the first one was the twin the turf sprint at kentucky. Downs and those one by the gear or buy gear jockey. Excuse me there's no. The in his nip your jackie's a horse has been a very weird horse in terms of his career. He's had some very strong races. And you know if you look at the chart some very not strong racist but there's a common theme with those races where he's run poorly and there were all on dirt so any race where he didn't finish on the board Couple of eight and a fifth completely. Toss those out because those were on dirt One of them obviously was in the fountain of youth stakes. So certainly not a race. You would associate with turf sprinter so but looking at his other races. He's only missed the only finish out of the money once on turf. He's never missed the board period running on turf and this horses. Multiple graded stakes placed. Had a breeders cup replacing. He ran third in that absolutely hectic. Two thousand nineteen juvenile turps. So he's a very good worse in this year is put in some really strong races his allowance when at saratoga which i believe was the same day as the haskell was race that i thought was very strong You ran good in the troy steaks. And then you know he won this this race at kentucky downs and you want it very nicely and it was new track record time so definitely not catching performance for him and people are always cynical about picking horses at kentucky downs and we'll get into that with the next so and you know i'm certainly not jumping on him saying okay. This is the horses. Now gonna win terpstra because we don't know what that race looks like two weeks out from it so trying to predict it in september. I think is rather foolish. Oh we'll get into predicting it later on when it gets closer to it but a horse who has finally found what he wants gear jockey and i think is going to be a threat going forward absolutely i mean. We know how i'd open. This tradition can be. I'm sure one of these horses did not multiple end up hitting the board brigstocke turf springs this ad. Basically every good. American turks spinner In the starting gate in the race ended up being that way. So funny gear jockey. I mean this is worth. we're talking about. How place going back to a couple of years. But he didn't break his maiden until january twenty twenty one on. That's how you know. I wouldn't say this manage but i'm because i don't think it will rusty arnold's doing but point being you've got a weird winding path to get to this point where jackson finally doing what he wants which is You know turf sprinting. That's where he found his his name. A detroit was a good run and then he took it one step further here. I'm very very impressive. And i was underneath. You look at you look at the chart in. Is that finished second. Ten were separated by two links and was on paper a blanket finish. But when you look at it. I would say that the second fourth place finishers had a strong advantage over. You know everybody from six to ten diamond. Dukes bombarded fast owed in my opinion clearly. Were you all second best on the day and then they all hit the wire basically intended but alter those red gigantic racist. I'm news continues to run massive races. Every time he comes to the track bar looks like he's done when they entered the long straight and he really dug into finished third at aspo. Continues to be ultra conciousness. Well i think those are three legitimate threats for the british tub turf sprint. Obviously longley's you can guarantee those three are going to be there Barring an injury. So those three. I like a lot in addition here jockey i think the top four the work you have to take out of this race with confidence going down the road everyone else underneath. You know dave their shaky in my opinion. But that topor specially horses to watch. And now we're going to move on and talk about the big race at kentucky downs this past weekend and that was deter cup Million dollar race on this was a newly minted grey to and also breeders cup win. You're in and what else is new. Arklow goes off as the favorite race doesn't win it. I don't mean to to bash that horse unfairly because he has a lot of people like and he is one of those sources that we talk about. We like those old veteran horses that keep coming back. But i have never understood why that horse keeps getting bet We'll talk with the winner of the race. ran a very strong race. And i do believe. Eric actually did pick imperatore in this race and we did get one of those big value longer. Price horses at kentucky downs so we didn't have a great amount of success but we did have one of those double digit payer horses so definitely nice to see from that in terms of podcast you know. He ran a fairly solid race. I don't really know what i'm going to take from this race going forward because these are all horses that will run in our horses. That would run in the breeders cup turf. But they'll be the horses. It'll be running up the track. While the europeans and the better american horses do their thing. So you know horses arkell will. Probably ron channel cat could run breakpoint other other horses like that. Maybe even parador but aside from that. I don't really think much of any of these horses going. Forward impair got his breeders. Cup ticket punched. But i don't really think he's going to be doing too much in that race other than you know. Maybe he'll run decently middle pack. But i think that's about it for these sources in this race either. I totally agree gore. This was a big performance This was by far the best race. You ran it..

"Welcome back to racing run on episode number one hundred twenty four. We've got a bit of a smaller episode this week Last week and there wasn't too much racing action religious Several stakes at kentucky downs. That were worth a lot of money. Some of them will have implications going forward some of them. Won't that's just the way that kentucky downs works we'll get into at least a recap who won the race is we're not gonna fully in-depth review all them but this upcoming weekends a pretty big week in terms of breeders cup action Up north that would bind. They take Center in terms of they have the most breeders cup races with implications but as well as the locust grove which is essentially going to function as she dares a doubles finals. Start before the breeders cup and belmont park also. Has the conclusion of the turf triple series. So we'll get into all that but before we do anything else is always will turn it over to eric. I for this week. Segment of maiden watch and it was a delight week the no belmont not churchill. Downs guy that we're gap between dining of ellison kentucky downs obviously still out there and then a low sal which will have one horse governor but in terms of connections in worthies horses came from You know high level connections bigger names in the country but at smaller tracks rayson say i consider them second tracks and we'll start on that monument park with a philly for chad brown need unanimous consent of very nice horse. I don't i want to emphasize. Don't put any Way into where. They broke their meeting. Because we've seen these connections. I have a lot of success with horses. Broker maidens in these places and these horses are are very helpful highly regarded in their own right in terms of you know purchase price before they ran and stuff like that. I just don't think they got any attention because it was a lighter. Week of racing in they were smaller tracks but obviously unanimous consent at monmouth a a very impressive effort for a european bread coach. Buy almond sore. That's a first year a sire over there. This this is i group of two year olds of course with a really really talented racehorse won the irish champion stakes in the champion stakes as a three year old on the and did a lot of good things on the race track and obviously a lot of weight or a lot of people liked him enough to an american of group bottom and brought him over here cleared stables zones and really strong guy. If you remember last week's pay to watch we talked about codename affable monarch who is really impressive. In what really struck me was how he was able to come from off the pace with no urging from anything in in just absolutely flight home consent you did the same thing and his victory came from well off the pace who's almost ten links back at one point and you just rolled amid a lot of ground on the turn to In in very very professional effort at first asking go really know what his next step might be but Chapman has a really nice course on his hands. Here of just like i said kind of went overlooked because he didn't get We didn't do it on a big race at a track or anything like that but i- almonds or who's a really promising stallion damn on more turf pedigree by fast at rock. Jam actually was a maiden her career but in her last star Finished well beaten by american bill recall. So there's that an interesting back for you on. This was his pedigree so really nice to reports down the road. The other one for bob baffert outlaw style. We only get involved effort on love on on the watch segment this year for a lot of reasons as you can imagine what the biggest one had been overly impressed with a lot of these two year olds but this one i think has been his best to this point which says a lot because he had you know to grade one winners just a couple weeks ago but tom we at loose al on his on his second career start was very very impressive. You go back to his debut. He was being just a half linked by forbidden kingdom or southern. Really high regard for richard angelo. Horse that's going to be well bet in the american fairly few weeks of calm. We rent second as the favored in that store disqualified. Put back there because he was bouncing around today. Image using between north. He bumped his statement. Rhetoric back at third. All those things well is one star under his belt in iran. Hard against some horses that are highly regarded and comes out and he wins by six lengths. Did he beat much. Absolutely not There was nothing really behind him. But but we know what can happen. These horses that remained at low. Sell you out. There's so many over the years that that breakthrough natives at this track not against big fields not against impressive fields but they do a very good in their own right and go onto huge. And i disagree that it's also worth noting pedigree by quality road out of the blame. They're lining nets that's classic distance classic pedigree for days. This is going to want to run four literally forever. In the fact he's able to break his maiden at a sprint distance. Going five and a half prolongs usually a lot of cases he could be produced. Actually kind of reminds me medina spirited in his career progressive breaking his the way he did stuff like this So calmly for bob dapper unanimous consent for chad route. Two horses to really keep an eye on down the road Once again we're getting so close to breathe step tom. I don't know if that's going to be doing but there's plenty of races out there For them to go tackle. Before we move onto to recap chris from the past week and i do want to note. We added another maiden watch Alumni if you will Get a big stakes when this past weekend and one that i really happy about kuala princess as philly broker may think you remember. She went out to ainsworth states like kentucky. Downs was about five or six to one off favored at all favorite in that race. Took a lot of money. Like why we do this. If you if you listen and you pay attention you can get some really nice while the princess here choosing. She's going to be a really nice type. And i will look. It is worth noting artists as you chew with. You know floor. Breeders cup implications two year old races coming up this weekend. We have quite a few maiden watch horses that are going to be running limited liability up at woodbine gun town and gesture to organdy running at churchill downs on so obviously a lot to keep in mind as those has come forward. If you're looking for those direst. I'll be a couple of them but just horses have no of course going forward to this coming weekend. So now we're gonna move onto reiki recapping the racist from kentucky down from last weekend a we're only going to get into a couple of them in depth but i will mention the winners of the three races that we aren't going to get into the first one was the mit lady sprint. And that race was won by in good spirits It was a very nice win for her shoes. Affiliate pondered picking ultimately passed up on so That that's one of those could have bands but you know she like i mentioned. She's a good horse. I don't really know what would be.

"We have you covered with every graded stakes race all labor day weekend long. It is a wide open race. You can go so many different ways and we did three different. Selections this del mar derby at a mile and an eighth for three-year-olds on the turf drew a very big field and overflow field. It's a wide open. Kind of feels like a lot of different horses can win and it just sort of feels like that. Being the case that trips are going to be very important. Maybe if that is the case that i'm just taking the wrong horse here in the number fourteen flashiest who's drawn on the far outside. He's going to need to work something out. I just think the source is good. I feel like he's going to land in another racier that should set up very well for his late running so i think there was enough pace in here to set up as running. If you can work out clean trip these going to be the right kind of price to come right back with to take another shower. He won the oceanside here to starts bag with a big late. Run flying down the outside of the track. They did send them over to new york after that to try the grade. One saratoga derby. That didn't work out. He didn't get a great trip. It didn't work out He's back home now in in southern california they distances. No problem for him. I think he's going to get a set up and he's going to be a price. I'm going to go back to flashiest in a wide open. Del mar derby. That feels like a lot of different courses can win this del mar derby has drawn a fascinating fourteen horse field. So maybe i'm making a little bit of a mistake and defaulting to a horse. You could be the favorite in this race. But i think there are a lot of signs pointing to the number. One hudson ridge from the bob baffert stable. This horse has really taken some steps forward. Since he finally broke his maiden four starts back at santa anita..

He just had trouble staying on the track. He came back to lay off last time with a really impressive win over what turned out to be very solid allowance field and other triple digit buyer for him. It feels like he could be forward in this race where there's not that much for him to have to deal with. I'm just gonna take him in. Yeah i'm not gonna sit here. Suggest some kind of great belt if he does go favored. But i don't love the recent form of super sabre since he's come back from the layoff I didn't really want matchplay to regain this time. I've been chasing the doors for a while. He finally paid off at a good price when he won the suburban. I'll try to beat those two horses this time with four zero. Well i wouldn't say that necessarily against the short prices in his jockey club gold cup. None of the three who figure take the most money are runners that i would really want to bet in this race. I mean the number one force. The euro has upside and appeal on this handicap division. As he's moving up second off the layoff. But he's the kind of horse that. I would want to take in this race out of price and i feel like he could be favored and i'm just not sure that i would want him at around. Eight to five or seventy five in this race. Given that he does have to answer some substantial class questions. So i want to look beyond the three favorites and go with the number. Five night ops. Let's take a look at this horses last race when he was second in the restricted alydar stakes behind art. Collector has come back with a vengeance this year. For trainer bill martin. I thought that night ops put in a really game effort here. This friday card at saratoga was one where speed seemed to be doing..

Tiz The Law Owner Jack Knowlton On Belmont Win

"Will here it is Jack Knowlton visiting with Anthony's to bill on. Red Brand radio. Congratulations on a fantastic win. A lot of people feel like it was seventeen years in the making my friend. Well we finally got our triple. Crown for Sakho Toga for Barclay tag and took us two horses and seventeen years, but from what I understand. It's still kind of fight for Barclay There aren't a lot of trainers at You know is one three legs of the triple crown in recent years. Yeah and you know you guys together. Seventeen years apart, and with New York breads and I know that's the. The mantra over attack a Toga. You guys support that program as well as anyone. Well I was pretty fascinated to learn that it was one hundred thirty eight years since the new. York breaded, won the. Belmont stakes now I know a lot of people are going to say well, then really count you know at you know. It wasn't a mile and a half and Yada, Yada but. In my mind, anybody who watched that race, who questions who would have won that race? It has been a mile and a half. I think the outcome would have been exactly the same as it was at amendment eight. And, Barkley had gone on record is before the race saying you know I would have liked a mile and a half of the source, and he's a horse again. New York Brad and that's what you guys do, you? You've been high on this horse from day one. Well. I watched them train at Saratoga. I mean you're up there and I'd go over at six o'clock in the morning 'cause. That was a time of day that Berkeley landed of track. It was almost darker. She got near the end of the need of what's dark. And not only did he. You know have a good works, and you know work quickly, not crazy fast, but you know good works. But the way he galloped out, I mean they couldn't pull him up. He goes around the second turn. After you know going, pass the finish line and writers just added tremendously difficult time pulling them up junior. Alvarado was riding. Mine is is raised back then, and when I saw that we went into a first range of six and a half furlong maiden mates for New York. Badge I really had a lot of confidence and He's lived up to it so one little bump in a road when he got stuck down inside and the worst part of the race track and Kentucky Jockey Club At. The end of November other than that He really has been flawless. Yeah. That's lobby. Track back in November. He's just been He's been impeccable. The rest of the way the covid nineteen outbreak of course forced post moment of the Kentucky Derby the preakness to. The. Bom obviously the biggest change with the Belmont was not only the two weeks, but the distance. You've mentioned the ASTERISK. We'll get to that in a minute You guys pretty much. And gals I don't want to offend anybody in Saratoga those thirty-five parts of this. Is that accurate? Seven and funny is that I was that six or seventy? You guys and funny side. We had ten ten. Okay, okay only. The same folks lieutenant. And I the only holdovers class. You guys Gus Williams. He passed away several years ago as dead one of our other great partners Dave Man but Ruined I gave remaining to. Stay with it and never in the world expecting that we would get the kind of horse that we've gotten here with the law. And this was an important race for you to win Jack Not that you don't want to win. The Derby again or the preakness again, but the Belmont stakes with your dedication to new. York, Brad's and New York, and let's face it. you know in a game where horses changed hands an awful lot. You and Barclay have been together two decades at this point. This was a very important race for you guys to to tick the box on. It was, and now he's got one more coming up in my hometown Saratoga Springs I've lived thirty five years I know Barkley wants to win it badly as do I and. Really if we can you know, check this box. would include the champagne, which is the the most important two year old race. The Belmont stakes obviously being biggest Belmont. Race and We get the travers at Saratoga. That's quite a triple. And that's pretty remarkable. When you consider you know you started this twenty years ago. As pretty much. Just some friends getting together and buying some horses. We had six guys and Sackett Cyber. I find the eastern end of Lake Ontario I went to high school. We were having our usual. Memorial Day weekend, bearing barbecue, and my wife and I would go up there and visit and I had been in the harness. Business Standard Bread business I guess for about a dozen years and got out. In in ninety four. And somebody up there said well. Why don't we buy a thoroughbred and I said you know figuring I've never gonNA hear anything about it again. I said okay. I said you know, let's each put in five thousand dollars. I knew Tim Kelly at that point who's a trainer and works at is never now. so I got a hold of me and he found this a New York Brad for twenty two thousand dollars. We named him the second sex after the six of us. From Sackett Cyber and came up with the name sack Toga stable after sack I Saratoga and made ourselves Maroon and gray, which are high school college. So. That's how it all started.

Ballerina: Fashion's Modern Muse, an interview with Patricia Mears

"On your new exhibition. It is truly magical. It's supremely beautiful. Have to say and I learned a ton from its accompanying catalogue which is called Ballerina. Fashions Modern Muse for any of our listeners. Who WanNa pop on over to Amazon and pick up a copy so for any of our listeners. Who like me may not be ballet aficionados? I'm hoping I we can do a little bit of Bali history just a little bit. When do I see the emergence of ballet? And what distinguished? It from other types of dance which preceded it bally's quite an old art form the genesis of what you see today. The basic steps in the positions were already in place as early as the sixteen sixties. The first formal school was started in sixteen sixty one under the auspices of Louis. The fourteenth who himself was a very accomplished valeted Ella. It was clearly an aristocratic endeavor. And you see that carried over today. This would erect posture. This sort of very formal movement of the body so in some ways it is part of that French also regime aspect and we still see it today but ballet's also a very athletic endeavor so it's marrying these two extremes if you will sort of restraint kind of technical Bravura and again. That's why I think they call ballet dancers artists athletes. Yeah because they merged the two and then fast forward. The ballet went from being aristocratic very classical in its themes and male dominated to about the eighteen. Twenty eighteen thirties when women take over ballet's international. It's much more standardized and very importantly the romantic style. The sort of supernatural narrative takes over and it seems that women artists were better suited to express this new ballet form. What can you tell us about the life of a professional ballerina in the early years of the art forum in the Nineteenth Century? What was her place in society very different from today. The Ballerina really sat at the bottom of the socio economic scale. If you will. There were a few exceptions in. Even though there was a flourishing in the eighteen thirties and forties where there were certainly respectable stars By and large these women were very marginalized. They were paid very little and as a result they were often exploited. Many of them had to turn to prostitution To survive and we see these beautiful pictures by got today showing what seems like an idealized environment but in fact often in the back. You'll see men lurking. They were known as the abomination repower men of the Jockey Club and they regularly exploited these young women so many of them had very sad stories even though they were quite accomplished artists and speaking of data. I think there's even a little back story to his very famous sculpture of the fourteen year. Old Dancer Right. That's right that famous. Bronze sculpture is of a young girl She was part of a family where I think her sister was. Also a dancer but sadly she was likely a victim of the circumstances at the time where she hardly made any money to survive. Many of the dancers were hungry. They were physically exerting themselves and this young lady did fall into prostitution as well and probably died a very sad life so yeah it's horrible to think of and so different from the way we view dancers today right and it really is a fact that the majority of ballerinas then and now will never make it to star status. That's right or or you know prima which was a term. That's kind of more favorite in the past right. Today's top dancers are really generally called principal dancers. If I'm correct right why this shift and terminology from Ballerina to Principal Dancer. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that ballet culture came up in Great Britain and especially the United States and we view ourselves as a bit more democratic so the idea of the Ballerina which was a term given to very very few female dancers. You really had to be at the apex at one point in the late nineteenth century in Russia and said there were only six ballerinas in all of Russia was extraordinary So you can see how limited the term was bandied about then but today we view of the hierarchy of the principal soloist in the quarter ballet member but I think it erases the difference between male versus female and one that really I think asserts a sense of achieving it not so much through social connections or through whims but really through technical as well as artistic merit so. This is one of the reasons we see that change in France. They still use the word. A twelve or star to designate the very top rank. Oh Nice Yeah. I'd like to turn our attention to one of the all time greats who we were just talking about Before we started recording Marie Tahiliani And she really rose to international claim in the early nineteenth century. I'm hoping you could tell us a little bit about her. And also her innovations which helped to shape the future trajectory of ballet as an art form. That's right I think Marie Tagliani was important to very significant ways. One was the art form itself. He was not considered a beautiful woman and had certain physical flaws. Someone told me that. She was slightly hunchback and her father who was a brilliant choreographer was able to create dance. Movements that did not distract from that in fact Really enhanced her physical illness She was very hard working and she was a pioneer of the idea of going up on point sort of Now we think of it is absolutely essential in classical ballet for a female dancer but it was very rare when she started and I think the other thing that she did was to raise the respectability of the Ballerina. She was very careful in the way she cost him herself. She was discreet. Show is where pearls she had. A Floral Diadem And the other thing is that she acted very lady like off stage and she made sure her physical depictions whether in costume more in high fashion. We're always done in a very respectable way so she was able to do something. Many other ballerinas could not do which was Garner female audience. Even the young Princess Victoria was a huge fan of hers and so if members of the royal family could embrace. It was considered acceptable. So she was a breakaway star but unusual in that way and and correct me. If I'm wrong queen perhaps named one of her horses Tahiliani. He did tell Yoni was one of her race horses and also there was a stagecoach that ran between cities that was called the Tagliani fabrics after her famous role muscle feed many different types. Candies were named after her and the Russians were especially enamored. There were some bellum who made a soup out of her shoes needed hotel. Yoni mania swept through Europe and the eighteen thirties forties talk about being a mythic. Yes exactly Speaking of iconic elements of ballet. I would be very very surprised if there's a single one of our listeners out there who is not familiar with the garment which is of course. Queen essentially synonymous with ballet and I am of course talking about the two one thing that I was taken a bit backed by. When I was reading the exhibition catalogue was the somewhat body origins of this term. So how did this term to come about an aunt at its most basic? What is a two two while the two two is just the Ballerina skirt? It's costume and when it was invented in the eighteen thirties It was a word that came from. Rather if you will of course background it's a slang or play on the word. Kuku which itself is slang for the petite call. Which is your behind. Basically ballet audiences were different in the way they were positioned back in those days. The people who were members of the aristocracy or had money were always in what they called the box seats or the rings that were on the upper tiers of the Opera House and it was down in the orchestra seats where the more working class people sat and they could sometimes get a glimpse of the Valarie Yes that they were diaphanous garments and so sometimes depending on how she twirled or whatnot it you could get a look up them and they were also bit dangerous they were often starched ahead sizing in them which made them flammable and with the open gas lights. Some of the Ballerina skirts caught on fire and sadly a number of stars did die that

Derby season breaks fast

"Many of the horses that are Derby hopefuls are getting ready to embark upon that road to Churchill downs. Chance at doing. Just that later today in the Macho Macho showman for our good friend. That's trainer Saffy. Joseph Junior who is with me now here on the Horse Racing Radio Network Saffy. Good morning it might Good how about that call chance it big big win. Last time out he was that was the first time going to turns. And obviously the right way the way you want to do it and hopefully they can have a repeat performance about today. Yeah what makes him so impressive to you saffy. If he just carries himself watch him breezing work and he just he has a different going. I don't know that this guy just almost like he votes oats and doesn't seem very rarely. Do we begin to blow even worked some quick times and you never really young to blow. It is a good thing means that uh normally you. You've got a lot more stuff. What of the past couple of months been like for him? He hasn't been out since that win. On September twenty eighth. So what did they been like for him. Yeah initially ever had decided to skip the British back off them. Then we're we had thought about going to the Jockey Club and he got AH virus. I missed it a long time so it changed I mean we wrote it to the race. Remedying the springboard mile but they had to quarantine and we wrong to that race with two Corinthian run homerun allowed to go. 'cause we wouldn't be able to come go stream so then. The next plan was the Moocher match marriage right now. Eastern forty cents seems to be in good form orm looks well and obviously coming off layoffs. I'm facing there's some there's some quality and also that's never know how tight you have them. What we think we got him? Yeah every year when we start seeing the newly turn three year olds make their their first start of the new season we hear that the adage that you know those couple of months from say September October to January can be huge in terms of the physical and the mental all development for these young horses. So compare what you see from chance it today on January fourth compared to what you saw back at the end of September definitely much more relaxed and his works before he wanted to go go now we. We've been giving them targets and he'll he'll sit back and he'll wait for the Q.. And you'll go times go. That's an attribute that he needs to. You'll need to how as a racist got software needs to relaxing and listening to the right around the right asking for that Cinco. Fleeing the writer wants to go so I think that's the biggest developmentally show before early in his career. He playful you'll go on and on but he's all business on the Tran. I think he's mature and more money to lead the biggest aspect in that sense learning to do things the right way and he's always been impressive. He's always he has not laterally talent raw. Tyler there's a lot of calendar he's learned to control yen. He's always been forwardly. Placed in in all of his career starts yes. I don't think he's been worse than third. And that was in his debut when he was Kinda shuffled back a little bit that day He likes to be up close to the pace. Is that what you expect from them again. Today today yeah I think just you just have the naturally high cruising speed that he doesn't need to be on the leader but he just he just naturally five he puts himself a good spot on today. Hopefully gets whoever in their cleanly and liquor is going putting needs to be post time for the Macho Macho Jomon Gulfstream four thirty eastern. It will no doubt go a little bit later than that. Probably low closer to five o'clock by the time they run it but Yeah a big big moment moment for chance. It and we'll see if he can maybe put himself on that Derby trail. Do you look at him right now. Saffy as a horse that is that is a legit Derby Derby contender or do you still have things that that you need to see from him. y'All ability I think he's one of the Best Ryozo there but it's easier. US hasn't done and he's going to have to prove each so for me. I always wanted to prove it before you could speculate but definitely derby driven at the moment. He has a tolerant. We think I think that's essentially a seems like there's no Allenton so I definitely think we're definitely Dermot dreaming but one step at a time and today they will give us a good indication of Iraq.

"Brian Good Morning Komo how you doing excellent and you know the we talk a lot we talk a lot about the regional programs and Maryland millions last week and they got the Ohio people this week and you know go back to the end of the Press Kyle season we had the two year old and Pennsylvania obviously people are taking advantage of the opportunity to to race in Pennsylvania and drop their foles absolutely and as you know the great news it came out this week is that Pennsylvania's up twelve point five percent in mayors red when I look at the number because I did a a you know report myself of say how come we're only twelve point five percent well there was a is a mix up with the uptown Charlie Brown I looked at him he had one mayor Brady actually had seventy three Mares Brit and they straightened that out there apparent elitist mix up the jockey club so that was straightened out yesterday so be add his seventy two on there we're actually twenty four percent over over last year and actually I think we're we're probably going to be up a little bit more net whenever he says everything said and done but you're right I mean Optical are are are GonNa go where the program is the is is the best and I think one of the most important the things is the collaboration we have with the horsemen groups at at the retraction Pennsylvania you know they they're very good about helping Pennsylvania program and You know we paid out over thirty million dollars eight years in a row looks like we're going to be had that number again this year so a lot of good things happening NPA the advantage for those that you know the track this kind of information and it's ebbs and flows I mean there's there's programs that a that have had trouble all you have to do is look at New Jersey and whenever there's uncertainty mayor owners breeders whether they're breeding to race or breeding commercially. They're going to go where they can plan ahead and nobody wants uncertainty and ah that that really has been the continuity and there were some there were some concerns about the the money that that comes toward the the breeding and racing in Pennsylvania that bloomer those those fears were allayed though and and you know the state stands Harrisburg understands the benefits of supporting the program given what it does for the farm community and all the trickle down economies correct we three years ago we put the Racehorse Development on in a trust Why don't sweat say we legislate Peter's put it in a trust and so people are now confident that that money is going to be the air because you know like you said you know commitment is in for a year your commitment coming in it's probably five or six years and the getting some you know some more running in you know you're seeing that with the with the new standards that are coming into Pennsylvania I mean with the opportunity the Warriors Reward Uptown Charlie Brown's doing Doing fantastic uncle Lino peace and just this we just Dr Solomon at Pin Oak Lane form Just ince contract for Normandy in Beijing becoming in another tap it so you know things when when people are confident that you know programs on the right track you know you'll see you'll see that by you know the uptick in the Palm Mares bread and and home owners coming in the mid Atlantic we talk we talk on a regular basis this summer and into the early fall with with Alan Norman and the match series and we had a Lotta conversations about Virginia and the the reboot of of racing there and there's you know there's really kind of an inter- intertwined network really for for people that that race in the mid Atlantic I mean with all the the various program awards that breeders and again whether you breathe a racer or you breathe to sell it folded in Delaware certification and Virginia certification and then if you dropped your foal in Pennsylvania Oh my God it oh you I've I've said this a few times can you can literally win a purse and all the awards could be seventy five percent over and above what you want is a purse right I mean you can you can look at that horse was bred by peasy Patterson and Vicki so we call Paul who WanNa Delaware certified the stake a young won a couple of stakes in Pennsylvania a bread I mean you just you know you can't ask for anything better what run down the awards we haven't talked about this in a long time what are the percentages and are they structured well Both breeders and owners benefit from the plan are free your award for maiden made races is fifty percents are a breeder that's horses twenty five percents so we're taking care of them to any other races the Breeder Award Forty Percent Twenty Percent for others owner bonuses up to forty percents at parks and twenty percent of pen and thirty percent at Chris Kyle we have hundreds of restricted races every year we just put in a waiver of Maine claiming So any maiden want us I'm sorry not any meaning Clinton but at at Penn gene maiden claiming race it's twenty five or higher you can waive the claim if you have a PA at parks it's the maiden claiming twenty where you can waive the wave the claim when we wanted to we wanted to give our breeders and opportune unity to get back some of that money that they put out and they're harder time and effort before the horses eligible declined because as you know in Pennsylvania decent Pennsylvania bread boom that's suckers gone and we we also have have discussed you mentioned call Paul who's competed at the highest level but the the string of Pennsylvania bread great at stake with there's and Breeders Cup runners winters I it the whole program has has just gotten better and better given the quality of bears that the state has attracted and these are successes that kind of feed on on themselves and you mentioned Pinot there's there's any number of people that that understand these dynamics and are going to take advantage and that's why the mayors are showing up and it's a boon to a farm operators in the breeding operators absolutely I mean we're we're breathing we're seeing an increase in the number of foles and also an increase in the quality. I mean we have Prince Lucky running tomorrow and a bold ruler we have mirth that pre entered in the the only American her while we have daddy is a legend who ran a nice racer yesterday a tune-up for the matriarch stakes so you're seeing you know you're seeing this happen you know to eclipse award winners last year Shamrock rose and Bella Unique Belvedere before finest city year before that so you know we're just you know we're we're we're we're

Tony Black Discusses the Jockey Club Gold Cub

"The I have is a Tasmanian she's winning for that state that from at Belmont at without in October of sixty three so I think that's what it must've been construction between the swapped day just to accommodate the construction at one track or the it was four years I it took it took I think four years either was it four years for Aquidneck three years for me and it was it was an extended period yeah I mean absolutely and here on this look at this picture and I'm thinking I just saw joey. NBC Son of the bride farm the originator proprietor his dad and we all the kid goes not too long ago I was at parks and I saw Joey cheesy the sun you know and I said Joe who used to train for your cat burglar Joe Murga they use the net burglar and this was no reflection on his his way of doing business but it was just become at Ryan they would say burglar his business my uncle a lot the nitwits Tasma was a really nice silly sure was and he e I got a picture of her because my uncle had some stuff he was going through and I just wanted to have pictures of my uncle because he wrote up to sixty seven started in forty eight ended in sixty seven and we started walking that taking that stroll down them relate has even mentioned rock rushed and I wrote Rod Roger a couple of times and then I got hurt never low after that but I wrote him and his main race and in his a other than allowance race and then he tried bolt net day with me but he was just learning how to bulk I guess because he really the record aero and he looked like there was no way was gonNA recover that day when when he balked at it the quarter pole independent Serbian an angel guiding back and hand and got his mind back on run and he still won the Derby in spite of giving up the lead at the head of the laying but it's really interesting guys are talking because you come up with so many interesting facts and they just sparks a lot of memories in a and I've got it here Tony the the nineteen sixty his first one Kelso at Akwa the slop actually and then came back at sixty one at acqueduct sixty two was they were able to run at Belmont and then sixty three the at sixty four were back Akwa duct and that's what this Joe Tasma was at accurate up and it was sixty three the mazing how racing the game has adjusted at times when it had to go through transitions and and construction we take a lot of that for Grad I think it's it's a great sport and a course in the forties fifties and sixties I was introduced just do it in the fifties late fifties I realized my uncle was a jockey you know Gordon fifty-one by fifty nine I really started knowing what being jockey was is in in it's an amazing sport in and it was as a kid I can remember going to school and you I second-grade teacher would say to you when you walk in the room jump who do yesterday garden state with Ryan the Tommy Roberts on the radio and sure to feed your from garden state it is but it had so much more exposed back then and it was just needs to be a little kid and your uncle was the jockey and you go to school in second grade teacher him or her out Sam do yesterday it was just really visit was a great area to grow up in being a garden state we've lived around here and I was born uncle lived right down the street and every time I go to Java Complex I can't help but think I'd walk through this area the shopping complex I walked through it and I wonder what born this was I wanted to win more to the racetrack this was yeah and I can't help but to think that like you really turned into no sign of a gun but that's been raging so good to me and I really resisted even when I get on night I voice this morning only got on your credit some lazing how these sources respond to the wind and the crew cab pitchers and I'm thinking to myself here people say we've made these sources you know the people that not you make these horses run and I'm thinking boy you never watched one of 'em crane you idiot because I love what they're doing when you get out there in the morning and one gets the wind up the back and tail up over the back and they're just loving the doc in play and you're on the back open that they go straight because you're you know you're on the back and you WANNA get on back on their back so you get them home and and I'm thinking the ever watch these and play and enjoy what they're doing you'd never make that statement that you make these sources Geez how little right now well I tony I spent that part of that segment with with Steve Thumbing through racing manuals and I as you talk and I pulled you up in one of them and according to this you were born right there in Mount Holly right there Mt Holly Hospital and you know when you got the talking about Keelan and Steve was talking about Jaylen Brown bag mentally that came in and you know I can Robert my I look at it when I went down there for a week derived from Mrs Paxton and I miss his bags and had some nice sources I wonder Ashlin states one of the Chris Braces I wanNA keep an amazing two zero ratio and I never forget when we pulled up don't know what the roads were but he mentioned it and you see the beautiful four rail white fence of Kelly farm you know and yeah and when you're driving from Blue Grass Airport airport tune that track and at four rail vengeance ain't enough we got or railway that's beautiful country and I had is your ride down there and spending a week just you know just because it was in the late Saturday and I was just such an enjoyable week didn't go down there to ride running by them this is taxing only wrote a couple races they're both of them that I remember that I want maybe wrote a few others and then one other time I went back to key eliminate eighty one and I won a prep that they use with the Kentucky Derby or whatever what Jerry Myers outdoors classic Gogo and he won a race and hurricanes then I forget what the race was like the floor runner the Lexington I don't know what the name of the race was but it was just a neat place and it was true only the who's raising capital you know get to see the beautiful farms and you know you went out at night eight and back and drove past these beautiful funds nothing who would want to go on a tour to see what horseracing really is about and what breed opinion and the beautiful mayors and stallions and were what they're exposed to the beauty and care and everything the love of racing that is displayed by everyone who goes to goes to that track and I mean you had young kids 'cause there'd be a day that they entertain the college kids of the young go very big big big you think man this is what racing it really when you go to Gaylon or you go to an event like that really you your whole outlook on horse racing and what a beautiful split it really is so I think Steve's publicist for for these tours and also there is the the initiative that several of the farms put together it's gotTa be now probably was five years I'd bet the Horse Country Initiative and Mike Michael Blown is part of this too with the with the after care portion and creating a destination the whole horse tourism concept that really when you're right it is a perfect compliment to everything else that goes on and and particularly the racing product the afternoons and my hat's off to these guys I mean they do a lot to put the word out there what racing's early about and they go to the next level they actually show you these places these beautiful farms and it's really like I said at your whole outlook on racing and Qinglin what a beautiful track of the beautiful grandstand and the grey stone construction and a better place could you go to introduce somebody to racing

"Jeff Good Morning Good morning how you doing excellent and lots to digest. We've already talked to the J ribbon earlier this morning morning. I want to get your take on what went on about the racist we discussed last week including the the upset which I think is less shocking talking than people. The people are are feeling. It didn't seem upon further review that Mongolian groom was all that impossible well. He wants to me I mean I thought he'd run well but I I really I'd watch McKinsey working. I thought he was ready to roll. Oh and just looking at the form I thought that he would win and he he moved to the top of the stretch like he was going to pounce and then he kind of flat out and I I always had a little sense of doubt that maybe he wasn't quite amount of quarterhorse but this is only a mile and they and I was disappointed and I think Bob Baffert with two do I really was an he's made in announcement that he's going to replace my Smith with a writer that we don't know who's going to be. I'm sure all the the agents are kind of hanging around trying to throw their hat in the ring but yeah I mean I it was I mean it's it's just it's the nature of the game here. We've you see this happen a lot and perhaps the real the real important racist coming up a month from now but if you've you know food for thought as to whether or not the horse that we also at least I thought was the number one older horse in the country. is really that much better than everybody else and amount of quarter. I think it's anybody's game now fold in as well the the result at the Jockey Club Gold Cup and what did you think of the takedown and who do you favor of the two of them coming out west well. I'll tell you what that I I was kind of hoping that it didn't come down and even I thought the three year old is going to win the race going in and what am I ran well. I thought he I thought he had every chance to get by but it was a tough. It's tough to lose a race lightweight like way when push came to shove and unfortunately for her also did come to push he he hung in there I think both both of those are deserving the universal. I'd come already come out west a winner racer over the summer so we subtract and so they'll meet again it's I I. I was talking about this. The other day was Zoe on our podcast and we we were pretty much not baffled. I don't think that's the way but kind of open to in trying to figure out who might win the plastic doors so many possibilities now so many horses that look like they're capable title stepping up some of them that look good or maybe vulnerable so I duNNo. We'll be watching the next couple of three weeks to see who trains the best. Maybe maybe we can come up with a conclusion but right now now. It's really a mess we'll wait till they get the decisions. The final decisions horses like a late and late would add another wrinkle visit I think they're thinking mile and a quarter and the boys aren't that top much tougher for maybe the midnight DC would be if he ran against her again and and a mile an eighth in the in the the staff so that would that would certainly make an interesting well a couple of other thoughts jeff about last weekend the reasons we discussed filled D'Amato just a of magical a couple of days pee wee reese on Friday mirth and Cleopatra Strike in the Rodeo drive and the John Henry able to Geo Story. I keep coming back to it because what can you say and then Sunday Paradise Woods and I ask you the same question that I brought up up with Jay and I asked Sadler too Sadler Sheriff's the other day if she runs that race of the distaff she's she's a major major player and I know she's a notorious in and outer but I thought that was a terrific effort it was it was accomplished under under pristine conditions sitting right outside a speed horse with nobody all rounder nobody in front of her nobody beside her with kind of like a workout for but she did feel the deal as she finished strongly and she earned a beyer speed figure that was something like eight or nine points better than they were not that that means anything but bottom line is she ran really well now whether or not she can do that again I don't know if he pointed out not exactly your model of consistency and I thought maybe your best days were behind her but boy did she work well and I I I yeah I mean you have to go. You have to think that going into the dispatch. This definitely has a legitimate chance I mean if she decides to show up with a game the thing that we're going to start talking about Jeff when when when I'm at clockers corner and and we're watching horses work and when we analyzed the the XP TV workouts leading up to the race between you and Millie Ah Zoe is going to be fitness levels and the one thing you're not going to have to worry about John. The sheriff's Baffert and Sadler is is fitness of these horses on that racetrack and that's going to be a huge factor and I'm I'M GONNA keep referring to the east coast horses that went to del Elmar for the Pacific Classic and God drowned on that deep surface and Steve Asmussen asked me to his credit with with tenfold he learned his lesson and went out early with Mottola because he is not gonna get caught on that element he wants his horses. This is ready to travel over that surface and it's going to be something we we really focus on and then I'm sure in the recap you know after breeders Peter Scott. It's GONNA come up well down. Mars is eat but it's it's not it's not any deeper than in Santa Anita where this is not the old Santa Anita track backwards you know three quarters in eight and change all all day long I mean you have to be did fit to run on. This track is deep. You just tiring you you have to train over it. I think I think it really helps and yeah I think it's going to be very important to to to watch the works and I I do think it's going to be a great advantage for horses to get in early and get a beast of one or maybe even to work over the drag your possible because it's it's not it's it's tough. It's it's it. It's deeper than New York and Belmont Park is I'm convinced of that and I know Belmont to be called the fanny and all that but this track is is big heavy. I mean it's the faith it's safe and that's why they made it so deep but you've gotta get through it and you gotTa. That'd be fit well. Let's get set to look at the weekend and before we talk about Saturday any any day maker ideas for today well. You know it's yeah I mean I I did do a couple of San Anita and I can give the a little bit of an insight today's tough but I like the Philly name swirling in the fourth race she's not the favorite averaged five to two zero six two five in there she's a late running turf sprinter that that I that likes attending through force and they're starting to run five and a half now in the first we've got a couple now they extended the shootout there so she'd found five furlongs on this course a little stripe and she was hitting the boy and running well but just running out of room now she goes five and a half and I noticed in the few couple of five and a half long since we've had so far that the closers have a better chance and she's she's good enough to win. and I think that extra half for a long we'll give her the edge that she needs so I'm looking at number two swirling in the fourth race to kind of heightened me over for that's my play play today. It's an okay car not a great guard but I think we can we can get some value there because she's not going to be the favorite it's excellent all right swirling today and Let's let's go to the weekend and obviously the steak the steak side of things Let's talk about talk about the city of hope I because it it it really is intriguing and I brought up with Jay earlier. Jeff the mixing and matching of older horses. I mean really veteran in six seven eight year olds like synchrony and Ohio and Bolo and catapult facing off against some horses that may be emerging What's your angle in the studio? It's really hard. I handicap this this race and I came up with about four or five that on their best day could win. synchrony is intriguing to me I think he's intrinsically the best of the group but he doesn't have a lot of tactical speed and going a mile on this course even though he's running the tool aww theoretically he could maybe draft into the mid part of the mid packing and save the nangle out and get through he tends to give himself a lot to do and I remember when he came out here for the CBS del Mar last November. The same thing happened. Do that was sixteen. He fell back. He he had some traffic trouble he got. That's where we finished. Fuller Ronnie finished thirty one but but he didn't get there so I I like him at five to one at synchrony shipper I I hope he gets the trip. If he doesn't then you can make a case for a number of these. I mean looking for fifteen to one shot number four on your program. Aziz restrained vengeance. He's GonNa get loose in the lead and if he does that he can be dangerous. TAT upholds training really well but he's form doesn't look all that well you gotta go back to the Kilroy Mile Back in March the finding good but at least it was over this turf fourth and he could pop up Sadler. He's five to one the raises a bunch of the race basically is is a bunch. That's a five to one shots hoping for good luck but I think maybe if he gets through synchrony can win I wanted to I wanted to like River Boyne off the lay off and then John White made him four to one and that that cooled my ardor well you know I looked at him him and he was a very good three year old and he hasn't won at four and haven't made a lot of progress at least according to his numbers and he goes from practice and I'm looking elsewhere. Let's put it that way you know a to go back to an angle from last week as that in fact Jay also came up with and Dash the other filled D'Amato player and here's able to do who the things that just seem to be running for Jeff at at least from what we saw last week while they they ran for a golden gate when he was leading rider up there and I talked to them for a number of years actually we had horses up there and he he wrote for us always felt that he was good enough but he was kingpin up there era and then he decided to make the leap and I thought it might be tough for them but it really hasn't he's really falling favor with the with the horsemen down here and he's a strong writer but he's a good rider as far as and dishes concern. He's coming off a nice win. Del Mar.. He's obviously never beaten this this group although he did run second Mendelssohn and his racing debut of that matters which it doesn't that was way back in two thousand seventeen at the Curragh but but he's he's he's developing. He's he's coming around and the way the model is going. I mean I wouldn't put anything past him and especially in a race like this in which really there is no standout and anything can happen so hey why not wanting to watch a couple of other thoughts. what do you make of this chance Salat Omaha beach matchup the very very different set of three year olds against elders in the in the sprint championship wells twelve sheds lots four to five in the morning line because he's not only the fastest horse in the race in terms of numbers but he's also look controlling speed and he doesn't even have to go that fast my my concern was and it's kind of happened in the Jerkins a little bit then I know that the inside part of the wasn't particularly hit that day but they kinda slowdown down twenty three flat forty five and and he's fast horse and I think you gotta use his weapon and I think going three quarters. They don't have to worry too much about you. Know saving reading anything so I I would suspect he'll bust out there and go. He had a nice breeze over the track. I think Navarro did the right thing by bringing them out early and breezy had a half and forty. He's seven and one third fastest at sixty five last week and he lied did it. The right way looked like he was relaxed like he got over the track very very well so he's going to be it really hard for Omaha Beach the rundown although I my theory about Omaha beach is that he's always wanted to be a sprinter and because he was so good and all the money's going long long that Richard Mandella kept running them wrong and why wouldn't he won the rebel in the Arkansas Derby any may have even able to win the Kentucky Derby had come down with the trap Levada brought his only sprint race of his career only race of seven that he actually sprinted

"McGee Jay Brennan and Dave Greg Good Morning the hard act to follow right there well. I think you're up to it and much like we did with Jay. Hey we didn't get a chance to talk last week. Day I saw some of your thoughts on paper and on twitter but quick hit from last weekend the Jockey Club Gold Cup Diku and everything that came with it didn't agree with the call but that's par par for the course for me and the stewarts here good rates by both horses of Abu kind of the call takes away from the performance of both you know Roseville in sort of honor. I thought it was Kinda. Overshadowed what how well they ran I thought it was in solid effort. You know Roy Moore your skin and people give them credit for so he's tactical enough that you're going to go back to the race. In California that he won he was four why but right up on the pace so he can be he can play from the start and still finish finish which is a good thing for him to have going into the classic and Code of honor you know stepped up against a couple of quality older horses and and still continues to show improvement as Shug shoveling transfer your kid and I'm glad they didn't go into stuff. it'll it'll spice it up a bit very much and we talked to show yesterday what turned into a was supposed to be a you know. Tell us about the decision ten minutes turned into forty because because show and you can talk about the current horses and then you can talk about his Breeders Cup record you know he's he's run horses in the Classic Eight Times. He's got two seconds and third and I asked him if he thought you know this was as good or the best one of the best chances that he's had in a classic and he kind of feels it is I think so in part because he's got a quality improving horse and in part because I don't see a real stand out in the division there you know I I was even if Mackenzie had one last week is still affected him at a mile and a quarter. I think come back with a pack a little bit and now I think he's you know emit commit pack there. I you know he he he was not impressive last week and and right now he doesn't have a jockey so that could be a hindrance so I I think the the you know I I think the visual the classic is releasing. My is right now pretty wide open well it it certainly enhances the classic and we got some. Jay's thoughts will also wait for some other news in decisions. Tacitus you know who I could send as many as three with a late and Yoshida. We'll see what the tacitus call is but have you talk to Jimmy later in the week about preservationists. I don't think the preservation and the clock berry good yeah. I kind of. They were Iffy iffy. Even before we got through the jockey there pretty traditional people. You Know Oh you go to the classic going for a good race. You don't go you don't travel cross country now. It's in your own backyard. Maybe maybe say okay. I'm hearing but the put him on. A plane ain't off that race. just doesn't make any sense to me and. I'm not sure what it was tales right now. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe they they just you know. Have you know conclude are dealing. Just say thank you. Thank you for the memories. They were well some other thoughts thoughts about the weekend the the two year old swept by Chad Brown and not necessarily by Chad Brown surfers Dave that were all that highly regarded regarded coming into the early fall. It looks selflessly ran a decent race when she got in her debut. She was a bit why she was just what about a half length behind her stablemate and you know. She got a very nice trip. The other day and you know you beat a field that I didn't necessarily I think was seller but that didn't necessarily like her either so I can't you know I'm not saying that I choose my choice but look it's very you know. Handicapping is hard art. When it comes to the Grillo it's simple to spend on Chad Brown. It just just do it. Does it seven and eight. I've never seen I've Nev- I don't know of any race that he may be bad for our security security and and and dumb or something that just a guy dominates the race like Chad Brown at least in New York dominates the race Jeff Brown dominates the Mus Grill and just you know next year when it comes. I'm just circle the Chad. He's got more the ones at about boxing and you'll walk out with a little more money so any payment structure solid rates you know. I I liked about structure that he showed you different dimension in the first race. It was a slow pace. He was up on it and then he finished and then they got a bit of a faster pace and close close so you like versatility show. I need to know more about what else is in that race before. I say an annoying Kim and enter a the you know a victory in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turpin juvenile fillies served interesting I said they were aware of it at the time but selflessly not nominated to the Breeders Cup now looks set clemens got that money hidden in his closet somewhere so he can easily put up the supplementary see but it it was a weird kind of a strange thing maybe just crack but be supplemented for the raiders stuff to run and I'm sure she will do well. beyond the two year old stakes stakes midnight zoo in the Belle Dame and got you got you got her legs stretched and did what was necessary. The race as that ended up surprising to some degree aside from everything that went on in the Gold Cup four Horsfield in that Vosper that ended up being really exciting and forensic fire and imperial put on some show down the stretch cool horses you know he's still still Harvard have trouble taking that race threatens fire and last year the parts race horse averaged one the rate just a cool towards I mean that's a super cool horse right there in so small but he's got such big hardy so fast and you know I think they call it a little bit adviser prize when Friends Fire Collared Him and he still had something more to offer and he gave it to him and you know maybe maybe hard race before the Breeders Cup will help him in the Breeders Cup opposed to a couple of cakewalks that he had especially last year Vosper. You just walked around there and now last year Frears Cup. Chances may have been compromised the fact that he just doesn't run it and go to Churchill downs I mean I think he's on there three times. The probably three worst races throughout the worst rates is I thought he may well enough to del Mar a few years ago when he was in the Mitch Breeders Cup and second. I believe but maybe there's hard rates will help him. battle tough because it's a tough rate expensive very very competitor's. Maybe one or better rates on the car to the totally and chance a lot on you know. I guess you have to see what Omaha beach that rates for tomorrow how he runs. A and B what they use it for work. the the the sprint has potential to come up here one of the best races on the card and I think that race will have imperial head registered. Well turn our attention attention to tomorrow and there's a lot there's a lot of intriguing match-ups paper going into Saturday at and there's actually a nice set races on Sunday with the thirty the flower bowl in the present. We gotta start with Champagne and a green light. Go Ah to forego the hopeful. After the track was a a a slop. I don't blame Jimmy Jerkins at all for taking that route however he comes into the champagne now having to go a mile and there are at least is three others that are are major players here not the least of which is Barkley tag and Saka Toga the last time they had a two year old like like this. They kept funny side against New York breads until going to Florida for the holy bull this time they're going to go for an early open company opportunity the and it's at the highest level the first thing. I want to say that this race is there is a major scratching the race three technique. Jeremiah texted me this morning and I put it up on twitter a little while although has a lung infection and we'll come out of the race and I thought he was a significant player in the field so it's down to six source field going at that. Tis The law law you know of course is very impressive. Beating New York reds first time out had shin issue that Barkley took care of list about three weeks total of training but it's gotten back in I saw I saw at least two if not all three of his three of his works here and they're very solid workout you just wonder if the layoff going a mile with the one rate is going to happen ready to do it now. The layoff is very similar to green like oh the day difference so it's not that sort of balances out but green go with tested in stakes company and also has races opposed to one and I just like I just really liked it. I I don't know what he's going to become. I don't know how far is GONNA WANNA run but I just like the way both starts getting solid well built for uh-huh hardy type of horse who just has a great hind end you know where the power generated from and I think like the mile and beyond and I think this has a moment for Jimmy. Sake that the horses say how down and continue on the campaign Jimmy. He says out born whatever that might be but I think it'd be awful strongest training like that rate.

"Vic? Yes, I can you now finally. So there you go. All right. I was talking. I wanna bump music, stop them. That was. Well, that's right. All right. Well, I was just saying I'm sorry that you know. Pask was. Ask it was tough to control their and so we lost a little bit. I may have to put you on the front end of Thursday mornings, actually. But. Happy that to have somebody domestic to have these discussions not that, you know, not that they weren't great with Andrew Hawkins and with Pat Cummings. But it it was getting tough to make arrangements for the, you know, the late night chats with Andrew going back to Australia. So it's great to have you. You're you're probably one of the few people out there that. Are doing preview work for Shotton and Happy Valley and press Kyle. Yeah. I I think I might be the only one. Well deck. Let's catch. Everybody up the last conversation. We had we there was in December. And so we've got to kind of get up to speed right away with what's going on at the Hong Kong Jockey club and shot. And of course, yesterday Abby valley and looking forward to overnight Saturday that the the big house. Yes. What's happened? In the meantime, the Hong Kong Jockey club is high of Michelle Fisher to represent them over here. And she is going through a lot of logistical challenges. Trying to get some uniformity with that types with various things that the eighty ws a doing with Hong Kong, and I think it's going to result in month much much wider precision of Hong Kong race and hopefully much much more business on them. So as she goes through that challenge my challenges to educate American batters on on racing and believe me, I can't compete with Android 'cause I read and stuff, and I'm like hacking anyone right? This much on these raisins, but that said, and it's still available on various website. What what I'm trying to do is get the people over here who we might encourage the tune in watch Hong Kong racing. Either early in the night later in the early morning. It's just what what are you looking at you see a lot of numbers on the top for number one. And then big numbers. And if I can't all be long shots. They can't they can't pay eighty dollars to win. Well, the Hong Kong minimum bet is ten dollars. So so looks more than it is. And and Hong Kong like most Trent must most racing jurisdictions around the world, they base their prices purely on the odds and the state is figured and so in other words yesterday's last race, the Dallas seventy two one and on towboat it said seventeen dollars. So for us that would be three forty. But when we see dollar seventy two one we see five forty weeks, we see. Two times dollar seventy plus two dollars. Well, there's no plus two dollars plus mistake in their prices. So that's first thing that used the second thing because of the currency differential. You basically dividing the numbers you see by seven some of the things some of the bed types that you've seen over here dollar thirty type beds for Cornell win beds things like that. So that that part not that difficult shells working on a bunch of things to try to streamline that and make uniform for the new saints. So we were working on that. And it's it's into process because the the great thing is by doing it this way the easy way to set up your own bedding, and just do whatever you want..
