SPITTING SILVER & BLACK: 6 CHANCES

"Didn't serve black on the civil black pride podcast network. I F B nation I'm miracles Anaya via and I am your host Kaelin so Cal and we are here for the six episode six chances on the SP nation pride Baucus network. I'm excited. I excited. I'm more than excited more than excited website rolling in here. We haven't been back since spring rake. Actually, we missed the week prior as well. Yes, basically would just go to week relieve muscle needed. We needed rest we needed money. I didn't get rest. I like no rest I've been so busy past couple weeks. So far behind every thing other than school. I got like two days of rest. And then the rest was work seen here. I got called into work like vide last week called in. I can't do that. Call in. I they called me at pro day for you know, the in which case the Oakland Raiders were actually present. And you're supposed to go. I was there. I got called into work when I was there. But on the bright side lexin Thomas running back for you know, V Renna four to nine forty that ties the fastest four yard dash in this year's draft with a cornerback and a forty nine. Okay. That's blazing fast. Lexin thomas. It's like this fast. I know fast in fast fast. But that's what he's known for. That's what his name is lighten. I want. I just thought about something. I wanted to mission. This everyone who is listening to this podcast. I want you to go tomorrow. When you see the sun wants you to look at it. I've been thinking about something. You can't see the sun. Like, you used to do you notice that like there used to be a point in time where you can like see like the outside of the sun? You went no one would just ever stare at it, of course. But like you can see the circle remember that at all you never been able to just see like the round is of the sun. I have actually. Yeah. I haven't noticed any that, gene different. Just just look outside because you can't even look directly at the sun light anymore. Like like, I'm gonna mission again, no one ever stared at the sun. But you know, how when you look at something, and you can close your eyes in see the the the shape of it in your eyes any light. You can see the exact shape when I look at the sun. I don't see like shape by to see bright. So if you look at the sign it looks like it's just like because we're most Vegas. You know? We're just I mean, I'm used to the sun. Yeah. We're used to the side with the sun is everywhere. You just firm is. Over three hundred thirty days in Las Vegas. He see on. Yeah. But then that's that's my point. I'm an expert on like, I see I grew up with this on my arms in my in my skin every day. So I've seen the sun. I can't see the sun anymore. Like the round is of like, I definitely feel it shining. I feel it. I can feel it. But I just don't see the sun is so just for when you're bored. Go ahead. And look at it this for a few seconds in don't do this. I recommended for small children now not recommended for small children. Right. Thanks Kaelin for giving us the disclaimer. Get into that PSA. Oh, yeah. Yeah. 'cause you don't need any a- lawsuits in liabilities on our case. Our survey was so sensitive nowadays. What are you doing? You're telling me to go ahead. I it's crazy. They sued for everything these days. Everything is everything. Did you see that one person? He threw ice on the floor in a restaurant and he's been acted like he slipped and fell ends to the restaurant. Yeah. I mean, that's not the that's kind of a regular. Yeah. It is. But he was here he'd literally tossed ice and so stupid if you caught on camera common. It was blatant. It was a finesse. I mean, people are caught on camera during the lot of things, and they don't go to jail for. Before we get into the show. I will like to recognize an event that happened two days ago that -fected a lot of people a lot of people worldwide. But a specially the black community in hit home for a lot of us. We lost a family member. That's how that's how it really feels in nipsy hustle will pass away to work news. It was everyone. It was everyone. But it did if everyone, but initially it affected the black community because he was a leader in our community someone that a lot of us looked up to someone that we took advice from someone who me personally, I've been listening to since I was in eighth grade lost a gun violence in a I think is important that his work that he was doing in his work. That was unfinished will keep continue to go in. And be finished in his message is still put out into the world in never never stops. Because what the man was teaching us in what I man was speaking in preaching in his lyrics. Not only his lurks. His actions. Was very very very grand and did nothing but positive things with community children people who were less fortunate, and I just hope that all of us as a community can step up to the plate and finish. What he started in continue his kindness, and in I hope that we start learning from our mistakes, and that this world doesn't continue to just rot with a just violence period. In that we find some compassion in this place, we call earth because it's home. But I think it's important for everyone to jets just pay your expect your respects, even if you I'm kaylin you mentioned never. Yeah. I never even heard of him before like I was working during this whole thing happened. And like the first thing I looked at was Twitter. Like, I always look for lay sport. Lays news, everything everything filters through Twitter. Joe Regal's tweet saying we lost very good man today. And I'm like what who is this. I never heard of him before. I'm like everyone expresses anything. How did I not here? I never heard of him before his death like never. Yeah. I wish I did. But you know, I never I never heard anything, and I'll be for real with Evelyn. I tweet I saw was jealous. Georiga, mike. Who is guy? And so for for any you're not the only one who never heard of him. I spoke to someone else in they said they didn't hear him until he passed away. And we'll that's good makes me feel better. Thank you. But I think that since of that education yourself go listen to a few song in even if you don't listen to the music, just going Google and see what his afloat philanthropy in his actions in the community where it's it did affect a lot of good people. He was a good, man. So he was working on like seventies thing with Dr Said's and everything how he found a cure for aids everything and then sevi- everyone just died blue. So a lot of also with conspiracy theories about how he passed away because of that did the government have anything to do with them, which I think is nonsense, but you know, people can think what they want. Yeah. People can people like like like, we all have a Amos's. We all have opinions. We're all entitled to our. Are paying and some have fax them Joan. But at the end of the day is not even about that. It's about this man who lost his life. So I just thought that we should repay reshaped pay our respects before a starting these initial show. Thank you for allowing me to do that Kaelin recipes nipsy hustle, but we also have some things going on around the league in sports, and we are broadcasting here at UNLV and Greenspan hall. Luckily enough, we have just received unify has received a new men's basketball coach after firing coach Marvin Menzies also varsity fifteenth my dad forty-eight the for the record never went Nancy go tournaments in. I'm only argue valid point which is they believe in first year. Do Kansas all these top elite schools on his schedule because Dave is scheduled tougher. Punt. Okay. Foulness of our okay, he had these tougher bones. And he won the least my games of any coach ever. Of course. You start alley. But my point is going to be he never really elevate the play team. Now second year. It was a lot better third year. He had a week. Oh, very weak ass out conference schedule. He went six and six. Oh who the fuck? Are you kidding? I mean, you can't meet because. That is nothing. It's trash. We all I can argue that he would be have a same or worse records third year as computers. I don't give me injuries. Don't give me young players. Don't give me all these Bs excuses because he the level of team never proved in a teen. Never lies in just one player. I team is a team. And that's why it's called a team sport like football anything else. It's a team sport. But you know, vide introduce a new coach head coach t to out super out because he was elite could under Fred Hoiberg, Iowa State loans or mar Romar lady IRS in Washington back for a second stint in at Iowa State in Ames, and he's nosey cooter. But he was seventy thirty three at South Dakota. He also was a two-time coat and in twenty seventeen and twenty eighteen and he just got warded with five year six point five million dollar contract coming from the. Athletic budget says vines about where you know, the wants to bring back and head coach he got he said he wants to bring the program back to the unity program back to its glory days. They nineteen ninety NASA, title and. Burgers wines and thinks that he can bring that magic back and that's exact quote for. Why said at his press conference and athlete director for UNLV miss desharnais read Francis Francis, keeping outsi- correctly. How is it Reid Francois? Excuse me. I like that. Desert read, friend soi. She was when she set out to look for the coach she said on according to journal that she said out to look for a hard working laser focus coach who personifies our core values. Who knows what our success looks like in who was passionately committed to winning. And it's also at ease of being face of our story basketball program in t-, according to her miss Francois TJ, exemplifies these attributes in his confident that he can bring running rebels into a new era appre ROY Moore is. Rining very. Renan which is okay. I mean, it doesn't make us only nest would fans want so will please fans. But you know, what to me you're in? Our is the same thing of add Nevada. You are forever. I'm just gonna say Nevada. So the argument here Nevada is what I'm calling them. If you know V fan out there or anything, I'm just going call you and our Nevada because journalists not biased it's called Nevada. I for foremost, and that's when I say from now on picking up one down ESO and picking out what you're putting down. It's picked up. Yeah. I mean, I I wanna trust Miss France. While as I she's inner vision for reason, she knows what he's doing bad money is a lot of money to dedicate to someone in N. I haven't seen much of the coach when he was in South Dakota, just because I haven't watched sports in sports that for I mean, I haven't. Paid attention to KOTA. But I'm not we're going to have to give him the benefit of the doubt. Because we can't do worse than forty eight. If I may add us seventy three three at south ago state and retranslated she actually helped higher Justin for anti and sort of buzz Williams over at Cincinnati. And those two coaches are doing great Virginia Tech Catholics are back to where they used to be and both Williams for now for however much longer for the next day. He's going to be the head coach every attack. Let me finish. Done. But he. She helped hire those people over at Virginia Tech, and that is violent out who she knows she can get and I know with rubble port here on campus. She said that to us than. They he was on her list from last year during the South Dakota state, Ohio State game, and like they ever need tire coach if you ever needed he was on her list, and that just speaks about who he is. And who she thought he can be and for her to hire a year logistic signs about who she values in hopes because he won I stayed. He wanted south ago state me he didn't way NASA. Doubly tournament games in South Dakota. But he surely won the hearts of the fancy hang exciting. Offense of running offense at south goes state, and he's gonna being the running back to unity and bring the running back to the running rebels. Well, I mean, you know, V has it even made it to the NIT in South Dakota day last year. According to Mike dumb, a previous player under Otto burger, he said that we don't know he doesn't think that you know, V fans fully realized kinda MandA getting with him as the head coach. So I mean, he has people vouching for him. I can't say anything until I see what he does. But I'm having to have someone who actually decorated in has a legacy. He's been Sweet Sixteen with Fred Hoiberg at Iowa State and. If I may add onto yours, not just my arm said that but before Joan Antonio who committed today recording this on Tuesday committed to able second committed to unity. Okay. And join tuna said about TJ our conversations have been good. He loves you. He thinks it's a great spot. I not to is going to be successful. Just because of who he is. But he loves it, man. He's very excited. He's going to turn it around. I can tell and he talked. On. Twitter. He message. He just committed you know, the and if I may take a second congresses so his commitment ler on Twitter. So this I wanted like all the schools who took the time to could be specially SMU. So the Methodist enriching anti all this process hasn't been easy. I've met many wonderful people and have been given many great opportunities, then you to my father forgiving me the opportunity to come to the United States and always lowing me to follow my dreams. Many other people have helped me during this process. You know, who you are? And I appreciate all of you with that being said, there was absolutely no better opportunity for me than to beat at, you know, the with coat awesome. Burger he has had a huge impact on my life since meeting him a year ago. And I'm one hundred ten percent committed to him. Him and the program. I'm extremely excited to call myself rebel in all caps. Well, then thank you Rena with such conviction. Oppose. So I mean, he has people belching for him in. We can't see anything until we get these the workout started in the spring there. They'll be they'll beginning back to work pretty soon our rebels, and no you said you in are they got knocked out the second round. I know they didn't just lose the first game. They got they made it to the second SIMI's. Yeah. But Yuna v not that we we are John John's making that John's making that really clear, I think for UNLV as I'm always gonna say, we, you know, because I've I've lived here my whole life. Like, I seen voter say, we if you wanna to be journalist. Alright young lady will young, sir. I'm gonna say we when I say, you know, V, and we'd literally don't have a choice to give her. It's nowhere but up forty eight and forty eight that's tied for shit. Like that's sailing dumpster. If you've seen that emoji. Seen that Jif assailing dumpster fire. No, I haven't seen that. But I think that we will have a good next season. We don't have a choice but to have a better next season. You know, if will have a better your next year. Coach also help Dona Tonio committee. You want those percentage from three. Yeah. Let me know forty one percent forty one any. That's what kind of often see runs thirty eight percent threes. He was like the fifth most efficient on offense. A Lou over like one point one points per possession. And he helped bring a fun style. Offense to South Dakota state, and that offense offense efficiency is going to translate to, you know, the player like Joan Antonio coming aboard trae Woodbury saying there's you know, trae Woodbury. Yeah, he's three point specialist, and he staying he's another point coach Augsburg amaze press conference was he's going to really crude the young men and young men on this on the current roster. Okay. And Trey was the first to recommit to, you know, the ain't no what his oftens fits exactly with those odds wants to do at know the end. If I may finish outs burger and trae would join the Tony and the others fit. Exactly what the coach wants to what players. He wants his system. And that's only bode well for the run road basketball. I think that it's really kind in coming into a new system that's already messed up. It's everybody's heart is pretty heavy. Everybody's emotions are high in this bath basketball program because they're tide of losing think about thinking about losing going the class the next day. So for a coach also also burger to re- recruit the already made roster. I think is good. I think that's good for the future of the team because they feel special NATO leg off. Okay. It's gonna build off that finish. Let me finish they'll build off that momentum. Okay. I know what this coach cares about us. This coast literally washed us lose this coach doesn't want us to be in the same position. And since in instead of just coming in with. All right. I got you guys recruiting them makes it redo the whole experience the whole experience. It makes them feel like they're wanted and things to change N UNLV. Hopefully that also burger helps the players intellect in IQ collaborate more as a team because I watched them in and when they get down they all get frazzled in forget how to make plays everyone on the team should know how to make plays not just the point guard. You know, they they they start getting confused in and you see as a fan if I'm feeling confused if I'm feeling confused because they look confuse the coaches confused, you know, everybody has to be on the same page here. And hopefully, we can get that at TJ. If I can add one thing to jam it. Not this Joan in Tokyo, but he mitten the but Julian strive their four star who Marvin Menzies was including offered before he was abruptly fired at the end of the day at less than twenty hours after his season concluded with the lawsuit sending go state in the mountain west tournament. But. Jillian start their four star sharpshooter from liberty high school. You know, V, and that was actually one of the first all's klutz burger made to him and he wants him on the team and something that I find interesting and good about that is that coach Oscar realizes what he needs what players because he says he's included the city of the past because w tournaments USA basketball. He's been here. He's been to Las Vegas for those events anti unity where where recording on what camps recording on. And he it's going to be easy because of those things and to build off of the nineteen ninety s title, which he mentioned in his speech gout. It was it was it's actually the thirtieth anniversary of the NASA title team today. Did you know that thirtieth? Yeah. That is sad. Yeah. But here's the interesting thing will only you know is one of like twenty teens to win the national title. In the last thirty years think of that thinking, I'll I guess we cookie for that. But thirty dig about how many people have graduated in that time. Yeah. But think of this and how many hundred one of a handful of schools to win one. And you can if you can recruit them believe in yourself. You can get you know, be back to that. You're going to have no problem. Speaking of that a formula v coach for ten days Chris beard is actually in the final four with Texas Tech, Texas live you'll be fans will be happy with me about calling him. You know, he's former coat, but he himself. Was four out. And with having that recent sort of successive on call got out by but. He showed, you know, the where they can get to and, you know, via the so that success in the past that coach burger is the next man to lead the two that globally land. And to where they were almost like coach beard is building up Texas Tech into their own glory days, like, you know, V had in the past so close in the past, but they said the bar high and coach Oscar knows where he has to get that team up high. But you know, what national title bonuses? It's a paltry one hundred thousand dollars like where's ends on anywhere. Now's title. There's no incentive for me. I am money. Buying terry. Incentive me, do actually try even harder. One hundred thousand twenty now Steidl is bullshit. It's a poxy. I need more money to win and Astra title one hundred thousand is nine Nuff money for me is actually make one point one. A year is not an incentive to go after national title. Like, I I'll just make the tournament make my point five thousand because one hundred thousand one tournament nothing. Get like five hundred thousand two tournament so spoiled I'm like a hundred thousand out shut up. But I mean when you when you're used to getting that amount. I mean, I'm you can slide. Eleven times at eleven. Yeah. That's over ten. Just to go. We'll we'll see how the final four looks. We got Auburn versus Virginia in as you mentioned, Texas, who'll whim. Tool whim and Texas Tech versus Michigan state. Texas Tech win they go both sides of four, and I believe Arbour n- will win or Virginia might pull out the site victory by do believe Texas Tech has arrested built for the finals. I don't know they can win it this year. But they sure do look like a complete team replace it. Seven eight players on the roster this year after losing players like Zaire's Smith first rounder to the NBA surprise one and done for them. But I believe I tech has the right match. Great chemistry this year. What do you stay? Land point endings, Ziya Williamson's and camera dishes college career one point I've still visa enjoy the money or paid sorry. So actually, they weren't paid. But. Well, they will be paid big money in the NBA and there's actually able to yesterday because I'm from Cleveland solid, these casting Zaim rooms and only wants to go the cast. It was able to joke. But with that he's going to be the first of all peck. And then you have John Morand and all his cameras like we mentioned that do. But hey, they're going make the NBA. They're going make millions the pine why they might win championships. And then be and you know what? Allowed came and say they made the NBA and to put simply. I don't feel bad. I don't feel bad for them for me. I do enjoy UNLV basketball. But they don't win enough for me. And it's not fun to watch. So I've been a Duke fan for like since like middle school, and I get so attached to these players in a leave, you know, and it's like dang coach K. Can you make him stay can you make him stay? But he knows in his heart. Like when you train when you train, and you coach a player to that high level of gameplay. They see that money. They see the presumably college when I can be getting paid for this. I understand I'm understanding with I'm with you. But I'm also in that boats where I wanna see you develop. I want to see you develop a little more in then hit the road. Do you mind my fire towing to? Yeah. I I know this is off subject, but I wanna say since we. I've been recording. This Joe Lipscomb and Wichita state Lipscomb is a five seat service Cinderella team, and then IT which are an annual NCO by terminating except they that this year, you wanna guess who won that game lips Lipscomb exactly seventy one to sixty four and Lennox team. And then and finals now ENA what I've seen them play. They've struggled for a while in the Atlantic. I lived in Tennessee as well. We're idiocy was inland on Murray. Bartow was a coat former now former interim head coach of UCLA won the Candice for NC tech job. But he, but the Atlantic sun ten he mean Lipscomb was not the top school and that out the getting there, and if you see this year for them possibly to have shot in the nineteen championship is a lot to say for analytics team, and is congrat-. The Atlantic sun. I'm doing such a good job that past few years and Termine every year looking for new team this year, they had NJIT to at least have terminated him. And you know, what that is speaks volumes about where the conferences headed because the conferences LV the play in recent years, and I seen that I've actually paid to it anyhow what I congratulations to those young men who are beating players who were recruited powerful schools who recruited to these other schools ranked higher than them. I congratulate these young men for doing it for going out there performing to the best busy and playing as a team. Congratulations guys enough with the basketball talk talk. Let's go to football. So right after our break where we turn and talk about the lions football its folding are it's suspension and the raiders how they they connect. Act. So we'll be right here. Right back on spitting. Sarim back with your host Niamh and your co hosts Kaelin so Cal thank you all for listening, and we'll be right back, spitting, silver and black will be right back. Thank you for listening to spitting silver black on the spitting silver on black pride podcast network on SP nation. I'm your host Niane Phya host Kaelin so Cal and we're getting back into some football. We haven't been on the Mike in two weeks. A lot has happened the allies of America, aka the owns the af flop flop. I mean, no, what happened was the stupid owner. Yeah. Let's not name up come on. It's he's stupid is he win in there to to get the betting app and to use it for his own Carolina Hurricanes. He went in there just for that. And to me, that's just stupid. I mean, it's smart on his part, but come on. Let's let some football fans. Let some football aimless. Enjoy the alliance. Let them enjoy don't just ruin it. I say they need fish one full season. I agree operations were suspended after eight weeks of full play in a series of eight weeks of a season just two weeks before the end of the regular season. They didn't even allow them to get a championship game. The supposed to be hosted symbol stadium Frisco, Texas. Oh, that's cool. That's a good fact, Tom Dondon, the the person who Kaelin as been calling stupid. He wasn't ruling to get a bad a bad return on his investment. He didn't want to return bullshit. Well, well, that's according to him according to head. Okay. Okay. According to him. He didn't I'm getting according to him. He didn't wanna chance getting a baritone on his investment. Did I fail to mention seventy million dollars invested? So I feel like he just thought you know, what this isn't making enough money for me. This isn't as big as I thought it will be I'm pulling out. Yeah. That's. These players the players inside had to pay for the trip home. Yeah. And that's that's his some said that Twitter. And but why want a second chance like a six cans like chills called giants L trenchcoat sin? Who's who led the league in rushing touchdowns with nine was fourth in the league in total rushing yards? Zach met in burger former LSU quarterback former Tennessee titans quarterback Christian hackenberg. A former second pick of the new jets was in college at Penn State of five star number eight of Raleigh Kuda on ESPN five star by every single metric out there. Of course, he got benched, but still he doesn't get secondhand Spurrier was actually the all time wing is cultured seven wins the next closest five and three which new Heisel was given another chance. Hotshots head coach, Phil salads. Former Cleveland Browns general manager is the GM of the hotshots Mike Martz Sega fleet. Hegue not has a ton of experience in the NFL. I believe he was with several chargers, I've leave among several other programs and places, but. And these players and coaches put the all into and cease for said, these people serve lied to him and the new owner lied to him and everything anything about these coaches don't or the lot when they were there. But yet just be let go doing nothing and just be let go because someone was greedy for one thing. Come on Mike Martz aimed Louis. Rams head coach offense coordinator washy Redskins quarterbacks. Coach. Arizona state offense system. To the Chicago Bears. Offense coordinator was last job in the NFL to the Senegal fleet. Head coach Super Bowl champion ex- ex- IV, and so many other things it's just sad to see a developmental league. Go away like this. I've always wanted to see developmentally because I like to see players improve. And these players will bring the all into they got thirty five thousand for the whole season. And do you know what these players and everyone in the league wind, you get everything? Second chance be an every one a second chance because these players needed in order to prove for the NFL because they want just be lying around practice squad. Doing nothing playing a game actually playing the game they love and for me. I feel like I don't like just quitting in a league. Where quitting is not an option and yet literate lace. And how does that feel as a player when the your boss quits on you? Think about your actions will affect multiple people, and that's just on us as day-to-day. But you as a person who is owning a league compared to the G league in the NBA the developmental league, which was once called the D league. But there was now changed to the league a place where they're supposed to reconnect. Are. I get a second chance like you mentioned on the game that they love that. You know, what just because I'm not in the NFL plane doesn't mean that not to just be sitting around being a substitute to make money, and they get an opportunity that they think is a second chance in there actually taking it seriously thing about practice in waking up and being away from your family all for this to be nothing. They didn't even get a championship game. Like, why would you quit before even getting a championship like siphoned, Ed? The 'nother excuse that the Commissioner put out was that. Oh, we stopped the league because. We were negotiating with the NFL PA to use a practice squad players to play in the double. Af the alliance in origin them. That's bullshit this, you know, why don't you way to the NFL league? Why don't you give some time? This you've been around for one year. And you know, what that's some bullshit answer by the Commissioner, Phil Polian and another co founder leak minded, stay Philp. Holy in one of the all time, greatest coaches and executives in the NFL from the NFL co founding the double F and why to stay round stick around and. Go somewhere, you know. And you don't listen to him. I don't know what your thing. Yeah. And how do you think that he feels how do you think that Dondon Dondon tile reviews? Anything he did to get rich. He did to find something else. Yeah. He was wanted to find a new new cash a new form of revenue and appreciate the game the way that another Commissioner would have. And if I may add investors use me gonna if I may at Bill point was actually not a coach he was always an executive pro scout scout and gentleman's her and he is the head of football in the lions. But you know, what he wanted to stick around? And I can the point wanting to do saying changing the young men because they all deserve a second four and or even six chance, but you know, what they never got that. And I mean, they guide for half. The season. But that's not what they signed up for. And if I were one of the players I'd sued yet because don't they have a contract? Everyone has a contrary do. So what happens is when the Commissioner suspends the whole peration does that mean that the contract is null and void. I don't I don't know. So I think it's government shutdown like they're not gonna fold is is I think that all players the whole season. But if they suspend league the players. You know, the they are possibly going back. But the chances ain't nothing that. But that's part of the reason I believe that goes into spending like. I mean, the word suspending is like indefinitely or. I think so I think so. Yeah, I just think that all these players should look for a new job. They're not going to make like playing the game. They love unless they're actually riding the bench. Because if you look at what giants Zell actually tweeted because you know, I know he's not everyone's favorite guy. But Evelyn wants. Homeboy of time. Johnny Manziel was that guy. Yeah. And it's just you know, here's two tweets them if you're and AA WF player in the league does dissolve last check you got. We'll be the last one that yet. No loss or anything else will get you your bread save your money. They keep your head up. It's the only choice at this point unless something drastic happens tweet, just a reality. This unfortunate situation. Great concept. Good football on the field and fun for fans to watch just on my to go around which has been the main palm with quote unquote, other leagues for a long time. I'm sorry. I've one I'm sorry. That lions down. I'm sorry. I wish you got a second chance for me. I crowd fund because you know, you should someone should do it. Because the lead the second chance the league the second chance league deserves a second chance. Yeah. I think about that narrative. I know think about that. I just think it's so unselfish of how people with money don't care about people trying to get money, exactly. Tied-in take any else on this at all. Pulled. He basically pulled the rug under a lot of people in. That's doesn't display loyalty. And I don't think no matter how much money you have you can't those relationships that you've once had I'll know they're done. Do can't be respected in the town anymore. Christian hackenberg Ku'damm play anything that I fell was actually for one time on the practice squad with Oakland Raiders twenty eighteen in the WF. I know he didn't play that much because let's be honest. He sucked and anyone everyone is doing Twitter ease up. There's no there's no two ways rounded he was thirty to sixty two point fifty one point six percent for two hundred thirty seven yards. Zero touchdowns three himself with Nike's for four seven yards and one touchdown. But come on nine touchdown pass three games fight. But you know, what you got a second chance. Let's face it. He sought to the NFL second pick. But. He tried to make it in the islands and players serve every single chance. They get because there's talent in them. And these second chance leagues give players that second chance that they need. Well. A main shut to the league for not doing that. Because it's connected to the NBA. I wish he NFO will do that nine for the phone. So stuck up in their own way. And they're just stuck up. I don't I don't think that that. I mean, you're using the same players. I know they don't want them to. That's probably why that attitude of they only like stars the only like young stars that as they even start getting rid of you. You're like old news. And speaking of new news and NFL for the first time in history coaches will have the chance to challenge penalties which has been thing that we've talked about for as long as the league has been around. They'll be able to challenge plays like during the games, which which some say can make the games longer. They'll be more in Miami. Yeah. NFL it'll make more instant plays in according to NFL dot com. Games were three minutes. Fifty one seconds longer in n twenty eighteen verses twenty fifteen so I mean, we'll just play add on a few seconds. But I do think that it's beneficial because not to talk about basketball so much but those instant replays determine if you win or lose. His game. And. They have NFL has definitely suffered a lot of backlash in the past for different plays coming out as a different call after the game is over. And after that. I mean after you get the W you can't take it back. The only the only only solution that they have is to change the rule. But here's the thing. He was my point of view. I mean, I think it's good rule that they can you pass all this. But in the past think about this. T-? If teams are good enough. They should be able to come those losses overcome those Sern fumbles in the game. Because you know, if you're good team good teams do that bad teams. Not so much Burke. You're good you overcome those stumbles and falls, and I'm sorry. But some of these teams weren't good enough to win. I mean, one play my subway them from where Las in the playoffs. But still one game one plate. There are several one plays a game to overcome one mistake by the refs. But I do think it was a needed change in the rules because every year you see these passer Fearance penalties they need to be reversed everything because. Officials miss it all the time, but for who actually be able to review last week and implement in replay is going to be airy beneficial to some players and their health and safety, and it's going to be beneficial to some teams because they're going to be able to win more gains. Now, they're going to be able to have an extra edge because game plan around those and say, ooh, you know, maybe next time to have to stop sin the NFL. Oh, gosh. I mean, LeBron's king. That's gonna be asking be hind of. I mean, if you have that instant replay, the might be easy. But if not. Yeah. But you know, there's always new rules every year MD thinking, maybe flops graving excellent business next year more players might fought because oh he hit me, you know, like playing and being has gone so soft. Yes, they can replay. But still what if they don't. And why did they don't wanna go by ten times game? And look like stupid idiot s-, you know, they're going to judge by what they see on the field. Just fall down for a second. Be like, oh, he hit me. He feared it's going so soft and the players is going to be like the NFL, and like I've been saying a flop because you know, that's not fun to watch. There's something that I wanted to you about Kaelin in when I heard this news. You're the first person I thought about I'm talking about. Oh, del Beckham junior becoming a Cleveland Brown. Yes. I'm very biased in that. And marseilles. It's really good for the Browns really make Bayfield. It's going to be really good for free kitchens inside. I hear and the Browns going when twelve they'll be twelve and four next year or possibly tents ten six alone five around their neck season because often Sestak the defensive stacked. I mean, you lose players like Emmanuel AGA and those players by the Browns you have a high tide. Offense defense improve d'humieres rental playing natto position safety last year. And then you have other guys on defensive end who step up like teaching tears Mitchell west year, who's acquired from Kansas City, and you bring him a hobby Wilkins wokers sin, and you bring in all these guys on defensive end for Cleveland. And yet you get the alster on your offense. You give nothing. Visit browse reportedly viewed the first first pick as a second round pick. And you know what? I mean, it's a good trade for the Browns because they made out like bandits, right? But. But it's really I mean, it's good for. Oakland in a way because. I mean, even though the Browns play Oakland this year. It's good for Oakland. Because Pittsburgh jozy rivals in the playoffs. And you know what? They don't have to deal with Pittsburgh. And and they don't have to deal with the giants or these other players because around pine mowing the faces AFC right now early season favorites and. With Oakland later on in the air. It's going to be very beneficial. Because they are the no Delon Antonio Brown. They acquired this year. Speaking of football, figure figure everything Antonio Brown and. Their car. The reason I think they acquired Antonio Brown was because going get car out though to number one wideout, and it's going to help him. So have approved year this year. Even though they're looking at Kyla Murray this past year, they brought him in for a workout. I do believe that car is going to be the future quarterback as going. Stay the quarterback because why draft a quarterback we just acquired Antonio Brown going online. You're going gonna get help on defense event interest for car. I believe Josh on like I said last year he's going to be the pick for the oak Mary's. I'm last night tweaking now because he gets out toward he's so speedy. And he's a he has a relentless motor my opinion. And you saw it. He went after that Vanderbilt quarterback. Like, no one's business. And I saw his tape. I was blown away almost like blown away from burgers press conference from its helicopter landing and I was blown away that was very wrong. He's tape from Josh Allens tape. So I'm knocking at number four for the Oakland Raiders. But speaking Oakland Raiders figure players they signed dear wurley to one year three million dollar contract. Proved your next year. He had one inception. Thirty three tackles two solo tackles foreign substance and hundred told tackles is career, and he's going to be really good. I believe he's I know this fact that I watch his tape out, but deer wurley, I believe is. I believe is more of a zone type cornerback defensive back. And I think he's going to have a real good year this next year because there wurley is only twenty four and he's been NFL now for a few few seasons. He's only been VO for three years mostly with the Panthers for two years. But you know, what I think he's going to jump up to charge this year. And he's going to be the player who I think is going to have the biggest impact and what about the raiders signing tied in Luke Wilson. Luke wilson. I love him. He's I believe he was like a red zone threat or wherever for. Seattle. And he was the player who I always looked at as like the dark horse in the building like the secret weapon because he can catch those TD he had sort of sure hands, and he was he was sort of. I believe I know is for time is could you look at this time for seven. Yeah. He was giving a because the Seahawks zone yet. Yeah. And he was really good. I believe he's really fast and Luke Wilson. If I'm he ran a fast forty yard dash and. That speaks volumes about who is he he actually ran a four point four six forty and the twenty thirteen combine thirty eight vertical. And he was really. Yeah. I know I don't think you I don't think he was. But let me look, but I see was a fifth round round. But he is going to be one of those picks that you look at down the road. That's going to pay dividends. There's no signing off soon. Freighters? I forget who it was. But. They're both darker sayings is air Carell for Browns right back. I really liked him. When he was the Browns because you know, what he ran the ball downfield. He was hard knows. He get those X yard fight. I mean, he he he wasn't you're catching back pass catching back, but he could run the ball. And he he had like a three point five yard carry and he served. He was like the bright side of the Browns offense for a couple of seasons. And he got paid with the jets past season before they acquire leaving Belen free agency. But. He surprised me the past few years because he's a player you look at that is not the highest of high nothing most high player. He's more stays low key, even though he was a topic and fancy a couple years ago. But he. Is a type of player under the radar player as well. As Lou Grison. That's my pay dividends down the road. I mean, marshawn Lynch turns their backfield's going to be good because I think they also always signed. They also want to resign. Doug, Martin and biz Doug Martin is a good back. And you know, he's older, but he also is going to be good for them. Brandon Marshall linebacker. I believe brand Marshall former Las Vegas. He also, I I believe I believe he loved was Vegas. He played for the Seahawks. He played for the Broncos any also played for. If I'm not mistake gin. He also played. I am taken. But he played food. The beers giants Seahawks. But I am Broncos. And I really liked that pick up for the raiders and the players to pick up under the radar. They're not done this offseason and the players picking up arches studs yet. I just got Zia crawl Crowell. Excuse me, quarrel l nine Robert turning from the colts to Amway death. They're just trying to work on their offense. You know, they needed a tied in until back. They just need the guy when Luke Wilson but the draft I think they'll go for defensive draft. Josh busy, sign more often this players, but Josh John I've locked him in. I know Joe's permanently sing. But I I've you him as a viable option. Number four for the raiders. I mean. I'm walking right now. I know Neo talk any the player because Josh Allen is my picket for so he'd be great raider today. If he was rated if he was a writer. But. Do you have anything to say on the topic of the latest Ray or signings or anybody because you know, I really liked the science crawl? I I like to the Browns. I was Browns head still signed by the Browns players now. But I'm sorry corral. But last year he had four point eight yard average one four three attempts for six hundred five yard sixteen with the Browns. He's had. He's Alabama state for join Beck's. He knows George backs. Always good. And he ran like he has a four yard average every year. And he's he's I see him as having. I think he's going to be the best raiders running back this year. I'm might go out and say he's gonna be best raiders running back this year. But me, and my heartaches me, and my skip Bayless and on saying L is going to be the best rhinebeck signing this offseason or close to that. Okay. Yeah. That sounds that. Sounds good to me. But the other anything else on the topic. No, no. I just think that just keep I just want to keep adding smart additions to this offense in defense because. I just think we have a lot of holes. Yeah. Yeah. And I think that's what John is doing a lot in may August do a lot in this offseason. I trust him. I do want. I like Josh Allen. And I also want them to trust dare car is wync signing. And I think that the Antonio Brown dynamic is gonna be good. I feel like they trust each other. They've already been working out. I seem video when Antonio town equipped the pro. Yeah. Yeah. And you said they both said has been getting good to know, according to car, he said, it's been unbelievable. It's been really cool to get into. No these guys into work with him because they've really hungry hungry to be better. So even though it's been a few months. I think it'd be good and. With that. We're going to be right back. But before we're back, we Kerr's you to listen to the other podcasts the unapologetic truth. The jury go. We are getting to one of our favorite segments in the show. My absolute favorite, greater raider and mississau- Cal would you do the honors of studying us off with a greater rate onto my name is nobody does but migrated is defensive back, Eric here's because he's actually the strong safety. But he's migrated because his birthday is today. So having birth. Air cares. And during the one I told her memorial over at Las Vegas metro. I had the honour to interview him for rebel port are sports show here on the campus, and I had the honour to interview, and he was very nice and he revved in the raiders with class. So thank you, Eric what I do want to say that he's migrated because Versi, but he signed it to your contract extension on March eight twenty nineteen roughly one month ago. But this was after he tore his ACL in twenty sixteen any came back. That was when he came back and signed with the raiders in twenty seventeen played it off if teen games most teams backup strong safety, forty act combined tackles seven pass defense to exceptions with four starts and to cap it off, Eric here's also. He has second. And it was great this past year in December twenty fourth. He's only twenty nine from LA going to be here in Las Vegas next year in twenty seventeen he had five tackles one assist. Nowhere sevens nothing else. But this past year, he stepped it up big and guess what he came out with a career year. And he's continuing that exist for two more years in the server and black. So look out for him to make a big game back gum twenty nineteen regular season and playoffs. So congratulations, Eric. Here's. Well, I I should've gave our listeners. A tip to turn their their listening devices down. Sorry about that guys. But I do enjoy the passion and enthusiasm that you displayed. Caitlyn? So I'll go get and give you another class for that. I hope I was. Is from multiple sources that I sort of tried to edit our Kapiti a- as well, but alive it came there. But still, you know. I looked this. It's a lot of NFL any peon so good good for them and NBC sports for all their information and raiders dot com. So it's it's definitely update. Okay. That was great. I don't know how I'm gonna follow that up. You can't. But migrate raider is to hear. Why did? Oh, no. No. No. I knew how I you know. I can do it. Oh, yeah. You're you know, how I can do it on. Introducing Lola Nyla a nice cousin unite from Britain migrated away, the rider. Oh, come on. Right to write her. Will be Tahir Whitehead. He is a linebacker for the Oakland Raiders he played football temple university. Any was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round and never way you place. But it's how you finish. His birthday is today April second nineteen ninety is twenty nine years of age. Majors. Are here's? Same. Maybe they're on the same class. He has spent with his whole career he has had five hundred and twenty five tackles, and he has three point zero secs, so headed pretty great career with the writers happy birthday. And we're looking forward to seeing you play here in the Las Vegas. Al Davis stadium. The lost Vegas stadium. Data the ARD one point billion dollar stadium. Yes. Yes. And that's my great writer Anaya, please come back. Bag. So we talked about a lot today. The alliance football the new, you know, because we took a little long in that we also covered the raiders the recent acquisitions as well. As some of the lays news, like nipsy hustles debt death making rest in peace. And we hope you have enjoyed the show. But before we leave. The Vegas Golden Knights. It's a second season. And they just Clinton's playoff spot for a second season the engine, you know, what the, gene? Hey, and you know, what k- that is great for city, Las Vegas. I mean, of course, Reiter need to win here, again even more pronounced right away. But you know, what for them to do it for a second season as expensive? That's just great for the goal nights and the fan base because. No team. Does that? No team. Brown's never made the playoffs expanded team since ninety nine the raiders don't have that gift making the playoffs. Everything year they made like one year in the last decade, and you know, what Golden Knights making the playoffs. Is just great for hockey fans sports fence ever, especially those fans in Las Vegas, and those fans will be looking for winner come twenty twenty in the soon to be Las Vegas raiders. I mean begun. So for. We got so her let's year, we could so far. We we we the nights the nights got so far Gaylon. I know they did. But you know, what? At least, you know, people can be served led down. Let me of course, they were outnumbered when they're losing this past year. But you know, what the goal nights they really? Captured everyone in that one magical season. And even though the guys so far at least, you know, at least leasers still something overcome. Because in the first you don't win everything because he needs to be let down sometime and miso be let down the championship game. Then went all because you know, what you're gonna expect every year, and it would have been a greater headache for everyone, including the PR team with if they had one at all I right now they they went on a in March a six game losing streak. So we we can talk about military. It wasn't snapping the oil on flu. Was out due to his new baby graded? Losing streak until yesterday. Oil. Also have have our players injured players coming back healthy now. And do you know what? It. Oh capture that magic. The playoffs is go on go land is such a good coach. He's he was a perfect fit as well as the manager for the goal nights. Because Joe manager he really helped build that team of George McPhee because he used to be the GM with Washington Capitals. And he built that team and was fired Lecco and with going. He's building goal nights into brand. Everyone is proud of engineer. What that is is a testament to who he is to who the team is because they were bunch of misfits last year they will stars this year and the goal nights. Are going to be the one team that sticks around for years to come. They can keep recapturing this magic. Like, they did was stone who McPhee quired year this past year at the trade deadline, and they're going to have to magical and playoffs main. That's my feeling I I'm like John casino are professor of your who thinks the run rebels. You know, the we're going to magically win the tournament. You know, what I'm gonna say the same thing about nights. I believe that they can recapture the magic and going to be the ones who make it the farthest. I agree. It's been a great episode Kaeling. Oh, it's a pleasure to another one with you. Oh is that a heart? I hear. Thank you so much for everyone. Listening to me in Ceylan. You know, it does Rian joy doing this show for you all and we enjoy whoever is listening and watching doesn't mean a lot. You don't understand how much you know. You know, it's hard to. Jonah Mutono Drops Kidepo Pseudonym On New Album

"You're listening to World Cafe. I'm rain address today. Our guest is Joan Antonio. He spoke with World Cafe contributing host Kaleo. Joan Amato's debut album features songs about the foremost common last names in America sharing a moment with this stranger on a long train. Ride and imagining what it would be like to get married. Just after World War Two now this is disparate subject matter. It helps know that Joan is worldview is pretty wide. He was born in London and lived in the United States until his family moved to Uganda. When John was just eight years old he attended a boarding school in Kenya and moved to London for High School and College. Before returning to Uganda. It was there. He found a lot of musical attention for his recordings under the alias. Caputo since then Jona has shed a pseudonym and moved to New York City to make music under his own name. His debut album is called Burg and will be released soon today. We're getting a sneak preview of some of his new songs. Let's get started with circulation. H Jones Mattel now on World Cafe Ma friends they always and say mom blinds Lord knows how gossip spread hiding banned Asthma and nights can be so I'm giving but they dream. We are closer than we've been. We I love the crew. Why don't we want fall off? Where the John Well Abidi's pretend nine this trapped in between nervy skin every rap so tight that as a bid and that wherever we ought to launch you. We used cruel. Shot a Wow that is that's absolutely beautiful John Amato hear how my Gosh? The debut album is called. Gerg was Circulation welcome to the cafe. Thank you so much for having me. Yeah so you've lived in a lot of different places but one of the things that I saw on your bio that I found interesting. Is We tape this show here in Philadelphia so in your many travels a round the world you've lived in Philly? How old were you? And how long did you live here? We moved here when I was seven months old and we left when I was eight. Okay so you don't have very much to remember about Philadelphia. No I remember going to the playground and I was home schooled so I remember being at home and walking around on the street and going to the corner store to buy lucky charms but you kind of lose when you leave America interesting. So what happened at eight Take me take me from there from eight. Where where do you move next? We moved back to you. Got To my parents are Ugandan and we went back there Because my dad wanted to start a charity interesting okay so eight you just so that's really where I would imagine you`re. Adolescence begins obviously as in Uganda. Because most people don't remember from zero to eight very little yes. Yeah definitely But I think I was there for two years and went to boarding school when I was ten in Kenya. Okay so we so. We're now up to three countries here in ten years of your life. Yes Sir so from Kenya to. How do you end up in London? Because I know that London was part of a huge part of your story yes So my parents were working out in the middle of nowhere where my dad grew up and there was nowhere to go to school and a couple that had been sponsoring. My parents charity. Took me in and let me live at their house? While I went to school in England when I was twelve years old. Well can you at ten to England at Twelfth. Yes okay well and then I pretty much was in England until the end of college. But I'd go back to Uganda really frequently. Okay so so how'd you end up in America? Here okay well after I. I'm doing so many things but I just. It's such a fascinating heartbreaking. After Uni I end up going back to Uganda to live. My parents hadn't really lived with properly for a really long time. And that's where I started making music. Just you know it's done logic and I made my first couple of songs. Put them out on soundcloud. And they got picked up by blogs. And this I guess my parents gave me some money and to go to New York to see if like I don't know I could make anything of it. That's incredible that's that's what you hope for your parents over really exactly most people when you think of your parents and it's like Hey. I want to do something music related. They're like you know. Oh yeah real bad. Thank my dad. Who grew up in a mud? Had He didn't have his first parachute so he's fourteen years old Sorry to out him like that if he listened to this He was he was he said. Oh I'm just I feel like I've done well enough that you feel privileged enough to be an artist here on the World Cafe Geno the debut album is called Gerg and The next one we're going to hear is called shoulders and I. I love the sentiment of the song because it's something that I think. We can all identify with being tired and being that shoulder that someone rests their hat on or was that one out of a real life experience for you as really I was living in New York time and I feel like city. Life is very isolating. I mean you can have your friends but at the same time. Everyone's working all the time and one evening I was on on the train and a lady put her head on my shoulder and I thought oh well this is a this is what we should be doing for each other so I kind of wanted to on that interesting. Do you remember what line it was? It was on Jay Leno New York. Subway lines have some people who don't realize their lines and they have personalities sort of like certain behaviors is acceptable on one. Oh for real. Yeah there would. You couldn't pull that on. Maybe another stop. No not on the train for shirt so so did you. How did the did you? Did you waking her when you had to get up. What got off before? I did. Thank goodness because I was really scared at the moment. We're to be like excuse me go so well. That's a really really sweet sentiment and the idea that city life is i. It can be very very arduous and having a moment of respite is it was such a beautiful sentiment so thanks. You're setting up for us. Everyone should lean in and listen now. It's shoulders on the world. Cafe is the sixth of Now. Vam just another Tuesday night with no phone calls now. Dan Plans to speed. And I've been the seed Filler Abidi repair but that doesn't mad my st you. Does you know to me like in Seattle. Really know but engine no and Cottam. No you could be anyone code will lose a knock. Combo so you could be anyone anywa anyway you I show you how minds a bay by a killer still trying to make me just I don't really know engine Anna Salvador Qatar. No you could be adding a hugh. How so kids Don't Ya hum only show you how you sleeping. So you could almost Company name here on the World Cafe absolutely beautiful Jimmy Toner with shoulders from the debut album. Gird I'm my name's Kallio I'm the host of or one of the hosts of World Cafe and someone who works in entertainment right so for many years. I did not go by my last name. Which is Kalaheo And I can appreciate a musician that has stage name so for several years. People knew your music but they didn't know your name and that was by design correct. Yes tell me a little bit about a kid up. Oh and why it was chosen not a stage name but actually more sort of like a barrier to Jonah over for Sir. I think it was always music's always such a great outlet to me that it didn't seem I think at one point never seemed like I'd really be able to do it professionally and and at the same time. A lot of my friends did no I was doing it and it was just something so personal. I didn't really grow up having a lot of creative friends You know all my friends growing up. Or they're all accountants. Now they work in development and that sort of thing so as always quite a secret thing and so being out in public Putting out music kind of felt maybe embarrassing. I had a couple of friends that played instruments and I sang a lot of opera secondary school. Which is you know what it is. But it's also quite an elite level of this a niche thing and actually a couple of my friends who I grew up with. Ended up doing that. But you're seeing someone else's music and it's quite a small little bubble to like actually write your own music. Wow Is One of those things I feel like. I played a couple of my own songs and secondary school to a couple of people and it was always. It always felt like as far as quite an impostor. What are you doing writing songs into you? Know Wow so it was being you not being an impostor at all but you end but at a certain point you decided you're okay with putting this music out but you're going to do it under a different name. Yes I said. This is the obvious question what what was the what was the watershed moment where you decided that you know. The songs are not coming from Connecticut. But they're coming from Jonah and they and you need to know they're gonNA come Jona. I feel like at a certain point when enough music it come on. I was kind of use yet to the idea of it. I thought you know it is it is it is coming from me and I want people to know who I am because it would provide some context and I think what I love most about the the artists I love and grew up with is that they have the name out there. When you really WANNA find out about us on you kind of find out about it through the context of their life and what they're going through and I wanted there to be a person behind the music you're listening to World Cafe. We're here with John McDonough. Be Debut. Album IS GREG so debut album Gerg Gerg. You think that it's just it's a sound but for me. It reminds me of my childhood because one of my good friends. His nickname was Gert Because Gerg is greg backwards exactly So who's Greg who's Greg who's who's Gerke then WHO's Greg? Greg is somebody that I dated who? I didn't want anybody to know about no way. Yeah so I saved them in my phone as Gerke so that anybody who picked up my phone because pretty loose with my phone like anyone can really look into if they want to. So if they ever looked in the Gerber and they'd be like Oh this is like who could this possibly be like. "Most serial killers. Don't make any effort to involve media or best Gators. They're very secretive. They don't want attention. They almost want their crimes to go unnoticed, but the idea of committing a crime, and then calling up the police and bragging about it. That's a whole 'nother level of terror. A man who wore a mediaeval style executioner's hood who has a police and baffled the media. He seems to crave publicity. He's sent letters and cryptograms newspapers and beliefs subject stated how ought to report a murder. No, a double murder. I did it. Here. We are fifty years to the first sodium killing in today's world, forensics old cases are being solved who doesn't wanna know. How it turns out? From the creators of Atlanta monster come season two. This is monster vizo yet killer. Listen as subscribe at apple podcasts or on the iheartradio app. Thanks for listening to the best of heard podcast. Is the best of the herd with Colin cowherd on Fox Sports radio. It's tuesday. Here we go. This is the herd. Wherever you may be. And however, you may be listening. Iheartradio. Fox Sports radio. One joy Taylor is joining me Albert Breyer. Jeff Garcia today. Foy brown. Former patriot rights pertains in studio joy, how are you? And in the morning. Let me forget to the football. I want to start on this Anthony Davis. Laker thing. This big story. So yesterday, I got off and the show, and I listen to sports radio, and I was on social media, and I was watching cable television yesterday for like an hour air bodies. Yeah. This is going to happen, and that's going to happen. And this is going to happen. It was a whole bunch of. Nobody knows anything. That's what it was. It was all whole bunch of. Nobody really knows exactly what's going to happen. So this is what we do. We get very excited with big trades. I do too. It's fun to better store. Anthony Davis would LeBron's way better than Anthony Davis with New Orleans. He's been there for years. Who cares? So I like when store stars join forces. I like it too. Here's what we know though about Anthony Davis. K this isn't the glossy magazine cover. Let's be real. Let's keep it. One hundred number one is with boogie cousins, a great all-star. He couldn't make the playoffs seven years one playoff series win. Sorry. If those facts getting away of how you feel about number two is he's heard a lot including currently one year. He played sixty one games. One sixty four one sixty seven one sixty six. Big guys. Don't get healthier. You do get that. Right. A number three is he shoots better from the outside hits hits a three or two occasionally butt seventy percent of his baskets right next to the right next to the hoop you watching the current NBA this idea I'm going to give up everything for Anthony Davis. Let me ask you LeBron in his fifteenth or sixteenth year and Anthony Davis who doesn't he's not Kevin Durant. As shooter. And I've given up everything else. Well, what what's that get me? It'll be fun. I'm not saying, it's not interesting. I'm not saying it's not really really good in Golden State. Let's let's be real about this. I've seen LeBron James does too big, man. I saw what he did Anton Jameson. I saw what he did to Kevin love. And I saw what he did to Chris Bosh. He frustrated them. He made them in the stretch fours. They got in the way of LeBron James. It's not like LeBron has a history of he's great with Biggs. No. You know what? Lebron's great with shooters. He's good with Kyle Korver. He he was good when Bosch moved outside it could shoot three's. Lebron's always been great with shooters because he gets the ball. He drives the ball. He'd be great with Klay Thompson. I said earlier he'd be great with Bradley Beal, I've seen LeBron James with big is I saw him. Anton Jamison I saw him Chris Bosh Osama. Kevin love he drove those guys Batty. This idea I'm going to give up everything time out. The Lakers have. I've worked hard to draft and develop this young core players. They're not terrible. They're just not great players. But Lonzo ball's got talent I'm gonna fight to keep him. If I have to give him away to get I would. But he's got value somewhere. Somebody needs to point guard. Who's got great vision and six five and can rebound and hit threes. I'd fight to keep Kyle bone. He can hit threes. Good player going to be eighteen twenty point game guy. Right. I'm going to fight to keep Josh heart. High functioning Villanova high Q can hit a three this idea which could give give away the house to get him. That's what the Knicks Carmelo. And then they found out Carmella was sitting around with no furniture around the house. The when he pillows didn't have any end tables. Carmelo you me, I'm great big chandelier middle of the house. We're gonna sit on now we gave everything away. This is a business, folks. You don't give everything away for anybody? I saw story yesterday. It was like, oh, the Knicks should give away. This. There's an I'm thinking, I'm the Knicks porzingas, I got Kevin Knox. And I have a chance to get the number one picking Zion. Williamson. What about you Anthony Davis four that's going to be a really exciting team. That's gonna be a playoff team. Tell me one time. Anthony Davis has been a solution to any major NBA dilemma. Wait. But in the league seven years, I mean, I like him but the Lakers worked hard to draft these players and scout these players and coach these players and develop these players not giving these guys away. I'm sitting there watching yesterday cable TV sports shows, and I'm on social media and the angry bird Twitter. I'm I'm listening to radio a lot talented people out there, and there's a whole bunch of nobody knew anything. Let's let's just state the two things we absolutely know. And these can't be argued in these are for sure number one the Celtics can't treat for him yet. They can't under NBA restrictions. The Celtics cannot trade form yet fact and number two the pelicans are pissed and they're mad at LeBron. And they're mad at clubs sports. And they're mad at the Lakers, and they're not gonna do them any favors. They're not going to do the Lakers any favors whatsoever. They're gonna want law. And what Kouzmin and what Ingram and what picks and want egg on everything. So I understand getting excited about this stuff. I really do blitz. Let's put it in a little context. Little context. All right. Let me segue to this. Now, we're gonna talk to a bowl. Everybody's got devices joys golf phone. I got phone Goulet got phone to ago. Everybody's got phone. I love phones. But I got kids. I know what they're doing to my kids. And I know what they're doing to me unless patient. People don't let stuff marinate anymore. They don't let stuff bake Jason Whitlock says this about it too. Great lines. Let's play it. Young people today. They just hate the oven. They hate baking in the oven. Everybody thinks hey, toss me in the microwave, and I'm on taste as good as something that was slow cooked way your mama used to make. And it just isn't true. It's so true. Nobody wants to use the oven. We all want the microwave somebody came up to me yesterday and said I don't trust Jared Goff is he the future of the Rams, and I said Porsche, he's the future of the Rams. I mean, he's not the future of the Rams. I watch him. And I'm like we fourteen and three on the road. You don't think Jared Goff is the future of the Rams? Well, I mean watch him against New Orleans. He wasn't what let me remind you that we used to have before the iphone patients. Give me Tom Brady's first Super Bowl. Oh, wait that year. He had an eighty six point five passer rating, eighteen TD's twelve picks. He wasn't elite his second Super Bowl two years later. He had twenty three touchdowns twelve picks in eighty five passer rating completed sixty percent of his throws. He was not a legend his third Super Bowl in two thousand four his passer rating was now ninety two Twenty-eight TD's, but fourteen picks Tom Brady didn't emerge as a superstar until his fourth Super Bowl, which by the way with Randy moss. He lost that year. Tom was a legend his passer rating was over one hundred and fifteen he. Pleated sixty nine percent of his throws fifty eight picks did New England ever say, we don't we don't know if. Brady's the guy folks Tom Brady. Didn't peak until the seventh year in the league was thirty. That's when he was Tom. You know, what Brady are devices are phones, give us instant gratification. We don't let anything marinate and anything bake. Goth at this point in his career is better than Tom Brady. It's got a better arm. He was a three year starter in college. And the number one pick Tom was the one hundred ninety nine th pick led by his defense. Couldn't beat out drew Hinton in college. Jared Goff is not only the future of the Rams at this point. He's better doesn't have the rings. But he's better than Tom Brady. You do remember that Peyton Manning didn't win a playoff game until. Year sex to the colts wanna bail on him. Lebron we think of him as every year is in the finals. I seven years got to one Michael didn't get to a final until you're seven Tom Brady was finally Tom Brady in his fourth Super Bowl. Which by the way is the first one he lost. Jared Goff last weekend went into the loudest NFL stadium against a first ballot hall of Famer and one of the NFL's tough defenses. And my friends Jared Goff outplayed drew Brees. Jerry seinfeld. Created a show called Seinfeld. It was the best sitcom in my opinion ever. It was not very good. The first year to everybody loves Raymond the network almost pulled it. But they let it marinate, and they let it bake. I love devices to but they've created a sense of instant gratification. If you don't think Jared Goff is good. And if you don't think he's the future. Get off the phone use the oven walk past the microwave. He's really really good clearly capable of winning the Super Bowl outplay, drew Brees and is talented more. So than Tom Brady at this point in his career. Be sure to catch live editions of the heard weekdays at noon eastern, not a m Pacific most serial killers. Don't make any effort to involve the media or investigators. They're very secretive. Listen and subscribe at apple podcasts or on the iheartradio app. He's one of the guys we lean on all sorts of content lead content guy. Monday morning quarterback, our friend at the Super Bowl via the cower global, satellite network, Albert Greer joining us, you know, it interesting. We have an NBA story here that's been big. And we've seen the patriot to this thing over and over kinda give me a forty five. Second kind of how does it feel you've been to a lot of these Super Bowls because of New England. Does it feel like same old same old leading up to the game? It doesn't feel like there's no arching story line. And we don't always have one. There's not a big injury. We're worried about I don't think Todd Gurley. You know, there's much of a question. He's gonna play. The question is have the Rams are gonna use him gronkowski's retirement. Maybe you can get excited about that. Or that can drum up some interest. Then of course, there's the old coach for the new coach Bela check versus McVeigh. So you have your story lines. It just doesn't feel like there's one overarching thing that we're all kind of clinging onto, you know, listen, you Tom Brady said at the other day, Albert, you know, the patriots you covered them for the Boston Globe. And one of the reasons we lean on you. As you have more insight with him than anybody in this country, in my opinion. These are not linear. There have been years that New England felt like a Super Bowl team. And this year, I set it. I don't think there were Super Bowl team. So I was surprised John dropping -ly that they went to Kansas City in one and blew out the chargers. Have we underrated their personnel? Are you surprised they're here? This is the two thousand one patriots, Colin. I mean, I really think it is. If you wanna look at fourteen and sixteen and seventeen when they got to this point those teams did struggle in September and October. But by the time, they got to November. They had their crap together the difference here is that this team was really struggling in November and December they lost Pittsburgh. They lost to Miami. So I know I don't think we're underrating. The patriots talent. I think we may be overlooking the way they're built though k the patriots have never been built to be an all star team. It's never been less. Just collect the best talent. They've always been built to combat whatever is in the league at that time. And I think that makes them a little unique. And I think you look at the roster right now, and you can absolutely see it. They've invested in the defensive backfield to do to do what to deal with high powered passing games on offense. You know, what you're going to go out and you're gonna put two hundred and forty five pound defensive ends in two hundred and twenty pound linebackers on the field to cover. We're gonna put a full back in the game. We're going to draft a two hundred and thirty pound kid and Sony, Michelle and the first. Round. And we're going to put them behind a massive offensive line. And so I think the one thing that we overlook we don't underwrite the tout the one thing that we overlook is the way that Bill and Nicosia cereal build this team is not about collecting stars. It's about building a team to combat whatever's going on at the league at that given time people have made this into Bella check McVeigh. I think it's more Josh mcdaniels against Wade. Phillips Bill has a history of beating guys of beating guys Rex Ryan Mike Tomlin who sort of do what they do. And everybody knows it. Wade is a I do what I do. And you kinda know what I'd do historically Bella check and mcdaniels dystopic guys up. I think way too big story line here. Your thoughts. I have agreed with that thirty four or five years ago. Something changed in Denver. When Wade Phillips got to Denver, the Broncos played the patriots tougher than any way. Phillips defense has played the patriots before twenty four sixteen eighteen points. The three times they played them. They won two of those three games. And so wait figured something out. I think piece of at least a piece of this. And I've talked to wait about this in the past Denver was the first time that he had a couple of blue chip pass rushers in a couple of blue chip cover guys. It's always been as ideal in Denver. It was DaMarcus wearing von Miller up front and then keep ta-. Leaping. Chris Harris on the back end. And now he's got that again in Los Angeles with Aaron Donald and Dom consumer up front and Marcus Peters until he on the back end. And so maybe this is just a matter of finally having the source of blue chip players that he's always idealized in his defense. I'm just telling you something changed when he got to Denver. He's played the patriots a lot tougher than he did previous to that. Let's I want to go back to gronk and joy. And I were. Talking about this. I don't think he's a patriot next year. Because I think I think it's time. I think they'll draft a tight end. It's a good class. They got twelve picks. I think they'll have the quarterback. I think they'll get a tight end. I think Bill loves linebackers and defensive backs. They got a lot of draft picks. Let's talk about gronk who's really changed from the biggest offensive weapon to. I think he's a really good blocking tight end. And he's got different value. Now, do you think in a year? He's he's a patriot or five months. He's a patriot. No, I mean, I think he's likely to retire. And I think a big part of why he didn't retire last year. He realized when he got out there in the real world that there wasn't the sort of money or anything close to it to what he was making in football. And right now, he's on the books for ten million dollars in cash next year twelve million dollars in the patriots cap. I don't think there's any way back. Anyway, he's backing that number and if someone else is willing to pay him, I don't think it's gonna be close to that. So that margin, you know, what he can make him football versus what he can make doing something else has shrunk think this year was very very difficult. Perform a tough year. And look this happens with a lot of superstar athletes when they lose their superpowers. It's very hard for guys to reinvent themselves. In fact, most guys can't do it. You look at desk, Brian how he struggled with it. I am the guy who's done it better than anybody over the years as Larry FitzGerald who went from being a dominant outside receiver to a very productive inside receiver. I respect what grants done the last few weeks, right and turning himself into a great blocker against the chargers. And then fighting his ass off against the chiefs. He's in that process of reinventing himself as just the last couple of years calling have been very very difficult. And I think mentally he may have already started attach himself on the game. And you heard it last night. He said he's going to give himself two weeks to think about after the season ends that tells me he's already sort of made up his mind. I think I want to retire. But I want to at least give myself a couple of weeks out to make sure that I'm that. I'm on one hundred percent on it. What do you make of the Rams they're doing some talking at the Super Bowl? Wade Phillips is you know, he's joking around. They're very very loose. It reminds me a little of the. The Philadelphia Eagles last year where they came in with an underdog spirit. Hey, we're facing a dynasty. We got big personalities. They kind of feel like the eagles last year to me. Yeah. And you know, I know some McVay called a couple of coaches around the league who've been in this stage. Dan, Quinn here in Atlanta was one and spent an extended period of time talking to them about how to handle the Super Bowl. And I think it's like anything else for this group. That's the way the Rams have sort of had their program run over the last couple of years in the two programs are obviously very very different. The key. Is that each coach's himself, right? Like bill. The Bill you see up at the podium the Bill you see was hard on his players. That's who Bill Belichick is. That's how he was brought up Sean McVay runs his program different way. And I think that that actually plays into handling stage. Like this the right way. They don't have a ton of guys who've been here before, but they do have a few. And I think there's a looseness general looseness to this team that helped them last week in New Orleans when they were down thirteen and nothing in that environment. And I think it's going to help them again this week. I kind of think Sean McVeigh's five and one in shootouts. I think the Rams are a quipped there. Quipped to be in shootout. They're very comfortable. Shootouts? And similarly if you look at Tom Brady's last three years in the playoffs. They're averaging thirty four points a game. I foresee a high scoring game. And I think both teams are incredibly comfortable in that space. I think this year's Super Bowl is going to look a lot like last year. Suitable do you have a feeling talking to coaches and sources that I agree with that? I think a lot of this comes down to offense versatility which is going to make it really hard on the defenses. And I talked to Matt Nagy who played both these teams couple days ago. And the thing that he said because he's looked at both offenses and he looks at both offenses every Monday morning to try to get ideas. They said the one thing that sticks out is that the patriots can kind of talk from being a Twenty-one personnel team with a full back in the game. Power running team to being a shotgun spread empty team. Like that. Right. So they can do that to you. The rams. Meanwhile, we're going to run a lot of things out of the same formation. They're gonna make everything look the same. So you're going to have to defend everything at once. And so both teams have a way of making a very very difficult on defense. I think that that actually plays against the defenses in this game. Because both those defenses are built to take certain things away from you and both these teams can kind of toggle from one thing to the next. And so I'm with you. I think this is probably a high scoring game. And remember calling his high scoring his last year was last year's game came down to one defensive play who was going to make the one defensive play. Brandon Graham was the one who made that play for the eagles last year. Does it come down to a Stefan Gilmore or an Aaron Donald making that play? We'll see Albert Breyer Monday morning quarterback. Former patriot beat writer. Good talking to you, bud. You gotta call. Hi. It's the hurt. The world is full of sounds. That warn you about danger. Yahu sports comes on the show. We like Chris Hanes. I trust him. There's a growing belief of uncertainty that kyri Irving will re sign with Boston. It's one of the reasons. Anthony Davis doesn't want to be a Celtic. Does. He didn't know Kyrie Irving is going to be a Celtic. All right timeout. Three things about Kyrie Irving. Number one. He's a flake he left LeBron on according to sources wants to get back with him a boy. And now he wants to leave arguably the first or second best coach in the league for guards Brad Stevens and a really great roster and a very good GM boy car earrings a flake number two. And you know, this is true. He only played eight games at Duke. He's heard a lot. He's never played more than seventy five games. He didn't finish last year gets her lot. Number three. He's already said he's going to retire early. He just signed his second movie deal yesterday. What's that saying people tell you who they are believed them? He's already told you. I'm not he's not doing Tom Brady. He's not doing to Kobe Bryant. He's not doing Tim Duncan. He's not taking pay cuts and plan twenty years. You know, they knew it fine. I have no problem with it. He's honest about it. You're not trying to trick anybody. So he's a flake. You can't dispute that if you leave LeBron Brad Stevens in the east a little bit of flake number two is he's heard a lot number three's. He's told you I'm not in this forever. So let's start with that. Here's my thing about Kyrie Irving. You could invite kyri Irving to be on your team, you do not count on Kyrie Irving. I'll give you an example. So Sunday a lot of you having a Super Bowl party. I am too. And I'll just speak from guys perspective whenever you have a Super Bowl party. The guy you trust the most you say, hey, you bring the sandwiches because a sandwich is is that you can't have the party without the sandwich. So the guy you trust the most you bring the sandwiches the guy I trust the second. Most Icee you bring all the drinks beer. Soft drinks, Uber in the drinks that guy trust a little less. I say. You bring the chips gotta have sandwiches. Gotta have sodas you bring the chips kyri is definitely not the sandwich guy. He's not the soda guy. He's not even the chips guy. Kyri is the second chips guy the guy at trust. The least who's funny makes the party better. But you tell him. One. Aren't you? Also, bring some chips if he brings them great. But he may not and you'll still be okay. You don't build around, Kyrie Irving. There are lots of people in every industry you've worked with him. I've worked with them that the sandwich people to the party that the drink people to the party. He's like the second chip guy. You can't ask him in an emergency. You can't trust him. Kyrie's always been a flake. And that's okay flakes. Make the party more fun. Flakes are often very talented nothing wrong with having flakes. I can be flaky. You can probably be flaky whatever an accountant needs. I'm the opposite of that. I mean, our society is filled with actors and singers and entertainers and artists and they're not accountants highs lows emotional. That's what makes the world. Go round kyri is way more artists than accountant. And when I hear these rumors he wants to get back with the Braun. Anthony Davis is like I don't know about Boston here. My message to Anthony Davis. You do you. Okay. But LeBron has bailed and Kyrie's a flake. So Anthony Davis. You do you. You don't you don't. Here's what I know about kyri flaky gets hurt. And he's not playing the long game. And I've heard four rumors in two years. I heard Kevin Durant and Kyrie to New York. I heard he's signing long-term with Boston. I think he said that I've heard he's going to the New York Knicks by himself, which be Butler. And now, I'm hearing LeBron Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving in Los Angeles. Okay. Right. You can't fool me once twice whatever the saying is shame on me. Shame on you. I don't know. I can't get him in order. Well, he hasn't left Boston yet you trust. Chris hanes. I do I do I think personality thing is that there's there's a going feeling he didn't say he wanted to leave Bosnia hasn't. Left. Boston smoke fire. I mean, there is a growing suspicious Katya flake, Katie left. No, katie's not a flake K D. Shady leaves Golden State was that he's a flake. You don't think timeout? Somebody told me this the other day, they said Kevin Durant can lead Golden State, and I'm like timeout. Don't try to get happier than happy. Golden State is perfect for Durant. First of all, they don't ask them to be the emotional leader that Steph. They don't ask them to be the coach that's Kerr. They don't ask him to be the tough guy that's dream on. They don't ask him to guard the best player or the best wing. That's often. Claire draymond. They just asked him to come hoop and score. Like if Kevin Durant. I defended him leaving Russell Westbrook. The ball hog. Okay. I defended him there. If you leave Golden State, new euro flake defend Kyrie leaving the Brown. Okay. No. But but there's a big gap between leaving LeBron. And then leaving LeBron and Brad Stevens and going back with LeBron. That's flaky again, so are bad. But he hasn't done that yet. And I I understand him leaving. Lebron? There are a lot of players who don't want to play with abroad. Silly. As it may. It may be silly. But everybody doesn't have the same motivations. But again, but but yeah, I mean, they've been to the final three straight times LeBron was clearly comfortable with Kyler rebe and the heroine some games and taking shots again. I'm not it. There's a huge gap between leaving LeBron for the Celtics. Okay. And then leaving the Celtics to go back with LeBron. I mean, it seems a bit silly. If he leaves the Celtics and goes back with the Brian. It's like what was the point of all that? Yeah. Now, you're flake your flake. But he hasn't done yet. Sh- seems. He again, he's not the sandwich guy. He's not the beverage guy. He ate the chips guy. Kyrie's the second chips guy. What's up everybody? John middlekauff from the three and out podcast. Brought to you by Colin coward podcast network. If you like Colin show, you'll like mine, I'm talking all football. We got a lot going on again. Follow me, John middlekauff, the three and out podcast. One of the things. I talked about in my life covering sports. This is always been true. The fear of losing more often drive successful people than the joy and the jubilation of winning. I cover Jerry Tarquini years ago at UNLV. He could remember every loss in his career from twenty years earlier, the timeouts the miss shots wins for Jerry just became. Blurred. Tom Brady talked about losing to the Philadelphia Eagles. And it sounds a lot. Like what I believe to be true, the losses hurt more than the winds are great. All these losses are tough. I mean, everyone that you've had you remember these forever. But certainly because it happened just a year ago, you still remember some of those emotions as opposed I don't know twelve years ago when we lost seven, and I think, you know, if you get to this game, and you don't perform your best and you don't perform well enough to win. You know, you just you kick yourself for the rest of your life. And I don't think anyone wants to go through that the whole point of this week is to win the game. And if you win it, you know, you'll have something to celebrate for the rest of your life. And if you don't, you know, it'll be some mental scar tissue that you have to deal with the rest of your life. Yeah. The losses hurt more than the joy, you gain from wins emotional scar tissue. People keep coming up to me and saying, hey, who do you like in this game? And I say the same thing it's hard not to like New England because let me give you over the last three years with these same players, mostly Sony Michelle's, obviously, a nice new dynamic running back for New England last three years. They've scored thirty four thirty. These are just a playoff games, folks. These are just a playoff games in the Super Bowl thirty four thirty six thirty four thirty five twenty four thirty three forty one thirty seven that's against the best coaches best defenses. They are averaging thirty four points in four hundred seventy one yards a little more if you count Super Bowls and divisional because they have a bye before each. But here's the thing. Sean McVay and the Rams are five and one in shootouts when you think of the Rams you think shootouts their unique glee built to win shootouts and one of the things I think people are forgetting. Las vegas. They're opening lines in all the casinos. The Rams were favorites. They had to shift the line because now eighty three percent of the bets from the public. The masses are on New England. But the opening line was. Grams favor. When people say who's going to win the game. I say it's hard not to take New England. But the brand of the Rams is high scoring winning shootout there five and one in games in which both teams score over thirty and Vegas had him as the favorites before the overwhelming majority of the public and the public money came pouring in on New England. I think this is interesting there, obviously different ways to win in sports. There are certain principles hard work wins in every league draft. Well, don't overpay for players works in every league. But I do think it's very interesting. What is happening? Boston is considered. Really one of America's academic cities. It's the home of Harvard. The Sloan analytics conference MIT fifty universities, Boston all their sports have been early adapters, very analytic driven. Now. I'm not saying they don't go get stars. Kevin garnett. David price to the Red Sox. I'm not saying they won't go get an occasional star. They're facing in the Super Bowl. The patriots from Boston, Los Angeles. Now, I'm not saying Los Angeles doesn't care about analytics the dodgers are very analytic driven. But the dodgers go out and get Manny Machado. Manny ramirez. Rams are star driven. We all know about the Lakers. Lebron through the years Anthony Davis what we have not only in this Super Bowl. But what we're seeing now in the big three in America. Patriots. The academic city against the Rams glitz. Glamour Red Sox just play the dodgers in the World Series. And the Celtics favored to win the Eastern Conference were in the Eastern Conference finals last year. And here goes, Los Angeles, adding and they will overtime Anthony Davis. And maybe more stars. There is more than one way to do it. And what's interesting to me is that Bella check is really the perfect fit for New England. No such thing as star treatment tried to trade Tom Brady wanted gronk outta town. He's perfect for Boston. Their analytic driven culture over stars. And Sean McVeigh similarly is perfect for Los Angeles. He's one of the stars. He's one of the guys. He's very pro player. Peter King told the story yesterday he lets his young quarterback sometimes override him on the biggest player of the game. He did against the saints. The original play you watch Broncos go up. Now, he goes out and that play Brandin cooks was supposed to go in before this play. Jared Goff had told Sean McVay on the sidelines. I'd rather have cooks go out because I think there's going to be too much traffic in here. I don't wanna layer the ball over cooks. I wanna fire it to him and McVay goes. Well, not what I would call. But I trust you. Let's run it that way and McVeigh told me on Friday that is a perfect example of what I like to do I want my players to understand that I'm gonna listen to them. And if they make sense with what they wanna do. I'm absolutely going to consider it. This was an example of why players love playing for Sean McVeigh. Players in New England tolerate playing for ballot. Check who squashes personalities players love playing for McVeigh, hoofs, fostering personalities who wants Wade Phillips. Who's got a big personality their punters cool. I listened to my stars. I'll take in consumer markets Peters, a keep delete. So what you're seeing Boston? Does it their way? I mean, heavy analytics they'll dip into stars reluctantly, Los Angeles. They'll do analytics to but they love their stars. Both are working and both coaches are perfect fits for the cultures. That have always embodied their cities. More heard the heard streams twenty four hours a day seven days a week within the iheartradio app. Search her to listen live or on-demand whenever you lie, by the way, CBS sports came out with a list of the twelve best players in. The Super Bowl actually it was longer than that. But I'll keep it to the first dozen Aaron Donald one Todd Gurley. Two of the Rams than four straight. Patriots. Brady's define Gilmore pass rusher. Trae flower shack, Mason, a very good guard. Then they went all ram seven through twelve. Andrew Whitworth Jared Goff. Brandin cooks, rob having seen the right tackle in consumer and Robert woods woods. A little underrated. James white didn't make the top twelve Julian Edelman Sony. Michelle did not make the top twelve. Do you think James white and Julian Edelman will play a bigger part than Dominic and soon Super Bowl? Call me nutty. I do I don't know. I think New England personnel. I got burned on this. I think here's the difference. New England roster is mostly B minus BNB plus guys the Rams have more as but they also have more sees. And so there are some things the Rams don't do. Well, I think their linebacking core is pedestrian. And I think the Rams secondary is way hit and miss. I think the New England secondary it rarely gets caught in the wrong coverage or in the wrong spot. I think the Rams are all over the joint. They make great plays. They make terrible plays. Sometimes they bite on stuff. They're out of place on more than more than New England. So I think the difference is New England's got a roster of bees the Rams have more as but also more sees, but we know key to beating Brady in big gains is getting him off his spots. Actually can sue has a huge game. He he's right where he should be on that list because that's gonna play an instrumental part in the Rams winning. If that happens, I think I would put Aaron Donald number one. I would put Brady I put Brady one and Aaron Donald too. So I disagree. The list to start. I'd go Brady one Donal aeronautical to let stuff I mean tide. Girly is incredibly talented. It's just the scene of Todd Gurley. Wasn't great. So that's probably a lingering. Robert Wood is underrated for the Rams. I think he can block. He can catch. He's good after the catch. She's good before the catch. He's got sure hands. He runs good routes. I think Troy Aikman said a couple of weeks ago. He's one of the best receivers in the league. And everybody. I watch every Robert Wood snap in college. I didn't watch all his buffalo stuff. But I watched them in L A. He's really good. He not Julio Joan Antonio Brown. Rob ROY is really good. So ballots action. Probably completely take him out of his. I've thought about that. I mean, that's the guy. I would take. That's the guy would take out. What are the wise? Guys wear. I get asked that from time to time. The answer is the new gear from the her now dot com. This is the herd. Wherever you may be. And however, you may be listening, I heart radio Fox Sports radio and f s one joy Taylor is joining me Albert prayer. Jeff Garcia today. Foyt round. Former patriot grades puts Hanes in studio. Joy, how are you? And the ingrate the morning let me forget to the football. I want to start on this whole Anthony Davis. Laker thing this big story. So yesterday, I got off and the show, and I listen to sports radio, and I was on social media, and I was watching cable television yesterday for like an hour air buddies. Yeah, this is going to happen. And that's going to happen in this going to happen. It was a whole bunch of. Nobody knows anything. That's what it was. It was all lunch of nobody really knows exactly. What's going to happen? So this is what we do. We get very excited with big trades. I do too. It's fun to better store. Anthony Davis would LeBron's way better than Anthony Davis with New Orleans. He's been there for years. Who cares? So I I like when store stars join forces. I like it too. Here's what we know though about Anthony Davis. K this isn't the glossy magazine cover. Let's be real. Let's keep it. One hundred number one is with boogie cousins, a great all-star. He couldn't make the playoffs. Seven years one playoff series win. Sorry. If those facts getting away of how you feel about number two is he's heard a lot including currently one year. He played sixty one games. One sixty four one sixty seven one sixty six. Guys. Don't get healthier. You do get that. Right. A number three is he shoots better from the outside hits hits a three or two occasionally butt seventy percent of his baskets or right next to the right next to the hoop. You watch in the current NBA. This idea I'm going to give up everything for Anthony Davis. Let me ask you LeBron in his fifteenth or sixteenth year and Anthony Davis who doesn't he's not Kevin Durant. As shooter. And I've given up everything else. Well, what what's that get me? It'll be fun. I'm not saying, it's not interesting. I'm not saying it's not really really good being Golden State. Let's let's be real about this. I've seen what LeBron James does too. Big, man. He great with Klay Thompson. I said earlier he'd be great with Bradley Beal, I've seen LeBron James of big guys. I saw him. Anton Jamison, I saw Chris Bosh? I saw him Kevin love Adrian, those guys Batty. This idea I'm going to give up everything time out. The Lakers have. I've worked hard to draft and developed this young core players. They're not terrible. They're just not great players. But Lonzo ball's got talent I'm gonna fight to keep him. If I have to give him away to get I would. But he's got value somewhere. Somebody needs a point guard. Who's got great vision and six five and can rebound and hit threes. I'd fight to keep Kyle coups bone. He can hit threes. Good player going to be eighteen twenty twenty game guy. Right. I'm gonna fight to keep Josh heart. High functioning Villanova high Q can hit it three this idea which can give give away the house to get him. That's what the Knicks Carmelo. And then they found out Carmella was sitting around with no furniture around the house. The many pillows didn't have any en tables. Carmelo you me. I'm great big chandelier middle the house, we're gonna sit on and we gave everything away. This is a business folks, you know, give everything away for anybody. I saw story yesterday. It was like the Knicks should give away. This. There's an I'm thinking, I'm the Knicks. I got porzingas I got Kevin Knox. And I have a chance to get the number one picking Zion. Williamson. What about you Anthony Davis four that's going to be really exciting team. That's going to be a playoff team. Tell me one time. Anthony Davis has been a solution to any major NBA dilemma weight. But in the league seven years, I mean, I like him but the Lakers worked hard to draft these players and scout these players and coach these players and develop these players not giving these guys away. I'm sitting there watching yesterday cable TV sport shows, and I'm on social media and the angry bird Twitter. I'm I'm listening to radio a lot town of people out there. And as a whole bunch of nobody knew anything, let's let's just state the two things we absolutely know. And these can't be argued in these are for sure number one the Celtics can't treat for him yet. They can't under NBA restrictions. The Celtics cannot trade him yet fact and number two the pelicans are pissed and they're mad at LeBron. And they're mad at club sports and they're mad at the Lakers. And they're not going to do them. Any favors? They're not going to do the Lakers any favors whatsoever. They're gonna want Lonzo and walk Kouzmin and what Ingram and watt. Pigs and want egg on everything. So you know, I understand getting excited about this stuff. I really do blitz. Let's put it in a little context. Little context. All right. Let me segue to this. Now, we're gonna talk to a bowl. Everybody's got devices joys phone, I got phone Galets guy phone to a golf. Everybody's got phone. I love phones, but I got kids. I know what they're doing to my kids. And I know what they're doing to me. I'm less patient. People don't let stuff marinate anymore. They don't let stuff bake Jason Whitlock says this about it. We all want the microwave somebody came up to me yesterday and said, yeah, I don't trust Jared Goff is he the future of the Rams, and I said Porsche these the future. The Rams I mean, he's not the future of the Rams. I mean, I watch him. And I'm like we fourteen and three on the road. You don't think Jared Goff is the future of the Rams? Well, I mean, I watch him against New Orleans. He wasn't what let me remind you that we used to have before the iphone patients. Give me Tom Brady's first Super Bowl. Oh, wait that year. He had an eighty six point five passer rating eighteen twelve picks. He wasn't elite his second Super Bowl two years later. He had twenty three touchdowns twelve picks eighty-five passer rating completed sixty percent of his throws. He was not a legend his third Super Bowl in two thousand four his passer rating was now ninety to Twenty-eight TD's, but fourteen picks Tom Brady didn't emerge as a superstar until his fourth Super Bowl, which by the way with Randy moss. He lost that year. Tom was a legend his passer rating was over one hundred and fifteen he compl-. Waited sixty nine percent of its throws fifty touchdowns. Eight picks did New England ever say. Well, we we don't know if. Brady's the guy folks Tom Brady. Didn't peak until his seventh year in the league was thirty. That's when he was Tom. You know, what Brady are devices are phones, give us instant gratification. We don't let anything marinate and anything bake. Goth at this point in his career is better than Tom Brady. It's got a better arm. He was a three year starter in college. And the number one pick Tom was one hundred and ninety ninth. Pick led by his defense. Couldn't beat out drew Hinson in college. I seven years got to one Michael didn't get to a final until year. Seven Tom Brady was finally Tom Brady in his fourth Super Bowl. Which by the way is the first one he lost. Jared Goff last weekend went into the loudest NFL stadium against a first ballot hall of Famer and one of the NFL's top defenses. And my friends Jared Goff outplayed drew Brees. Jerry seinfeld. Created a show called Seinfeld. It was the best sitcom in my opinion ever. It was not very good. The first year two. Everybody loves Raymond the network almost pulled it. All right. Good to have. Albert Breyer this hour. I will say this is I'm listening to all this Anthony Davis, Laker stuff. Just it's just it's crazy time. It's fun. I love it. I've always been four mobility myself. And for stars. I for the player in the NBA, not the coach not the owner. Not the GM. I'm pro player players move. And here's the thing. Your for it to. I'll prove it to you next. You just don't want to admit it. That's coming up. Hi. It's the hurt. The world is full of sounds. That warn you about danger. It was Vicks kids are very resilient say something. Let me tell you eat a jar of that stuff as a kid. It is a crazy weekend. She turned out. Okay. Years later that my grandfather if we even sniffles, we showed any sign any anything. It was Vicks everywhere. So Kevin and Anthony Davis Lakers. Kevin Durant is one of the early pioneers of accepting mobility. He's a millennial millennials are between ages through twenty three and thirty eight and we know certain things about millennials. They're socially conscious. They like to join forces and Kevin Durant all four this. Anthony Davis move. Aby wanna play basketball somewhere else? Is not like the prisoners shut down. The government is his basketball one guys that do exactly what they want to do in the short on time. So why not do what you want? I would like to mention this. Anthony Davis is a millennial. So is joy Taylor. Twenty three to thirty eight years old and proud millennial tech savvy. Little more mobile like joining forces socially conscious. Why does the NBA always get ripped when millennials want to join forces? Correct me if I'm wrong, but AAU basketball aren't the same seven to eight national teams good every year. Excuse me, didn't the best three high schoolers in the country. All go to Duke and join forces. They could have gone to Virginia one two guns aggo undesired year. Now they wanted to win join forces. We don't like when you start paying players, and they have a little control over it. But AAU basketball is a compilation of stars. College basketball, Duke, Kentucky, the two most watch teams are a compilation of stars. Nobody's bothered by that. But suddenly in the NBA, we don't like a compilation of stars. You're lying to yourself. Joining forces is a big thing everywhere. Do you know what the hot thing in music is its music festivals? Jay Z lady Gaga, I not even going to embarrass myself in name the groups. They all join forces, Coachella what's happening in movies. It's not a superhero movie. Superheroes. Now, joe. Join forces. I watch those movies with my son award shows all the stars. They still get pretty good ratings beaten one place. Golden State Warriors dynasties the highest rated non LeBron thing in the NBA. The major league baseball all-star game outright every regular season game. And it doesn't even count by the way, eight million people eight and a half million watched the Pro Bowl this weekend. It certainly wasn't good football. And it never is. But it's a compilation of stars. We like a compilation of stars we pay for it in music, we pay for it in movies about the only thing anybody goes in watches anywhere. More in the movies. I'm not talking artistically. I'm talking who what people pay to see is a compilation of stars and superheroes award shows all star games. The Lakers and LeBron aren't taking anything away from New Orleans. They're just more interesting. You don't think LeBron? Anthony Davis is more interesting than the current situation in New Orleans people in New Orleans, don't watch the pelicans the local fans aren't interested in the pelicans. I'm supposed to be a basketball has replaced. Highschool is the thing coaches watch and recruit from it's just a bunch of great players all joining forces in Atlanta, and Detroit and DC and Dallas and L A NC ATL college basketball, the millennials. They don't wanna go to Duke or Kentucky, Kansas. But in the NBA at bothers us. Why you and I know when Anthony Davis if Anthony Davis probably when joins LeBron it will be a ratings hit don't deny it Pasco. Balls always been a dynasty sport, the Celtics won eleven titles. John wooden one ten at twelve. Not sure why it bothers everybody in the current NBA. Then bother you a you than volume college at Duke and Kentucky, always get all the players. Why is it by the now ratings always go up after a compilation of many great players joining forces now to our Baleno joy Taylor for the news. Turn on the news. This is the headline news, math dot his his actual statement kind of hit every single point. The only thing he needed to do with be saying it into a selfie video. He talked about the government shutdown socially conscious. He encouraged mobility saying that he should move who's this? Kaby it quickly. It's actually the most millennial comment on the situation possible. All right. The be Coleman did a fool walk back on his comments. They'll Tom Brady. I've been telling report age has quote, definitely taken. It's toll on Brady. I think that he's definitely not the same quarterback. He was rookie. Coleman said last night that his comments were actually misconstrued. Not taking nothing away from his game. Okay. Take him away from his game. No hump. This my first appearance. He'd been keeping this place many times in this time. So I'm not gonna make a big deal on disinflation. Like, I said, I got taken out of context I respectively. Aaron day, and we play football the question. What's the difference between when play them in buffalo? And when I play the here. I just this guilt hasn't changed and his like. And his lack of talent more stringent. Nothing changes. I mean trash talks knock Philadelphia talk trash last year in one. It's not going to really matter. They do pay attention to it. That is for sure knowing question that doing. No. I don't think that he was at the -sarily talking trash. It's just that this with this particular team and especially with Tom Brady with a constant never ending one. Is he going to retire? No. Oh, he missed the house. He threw interception. We're finally seeing the end it's not so and it's Super Bowl week. So everything that you say that's even can kind of be twisted into being critical is going to get blown up. But I'm not I I don't want them surprise. He backed off of it. I would have just doubled down at this point. Because everyone knowing really believes that you didn't mean what you said right sticking with criticism. Spite the patriots playing the quote, unquote. Nobody respects us card and kind of I rolling think to begin with. But it's probably fair. They have taken a lot of criticism this year because the beginning of the year was very unpatriotic started years stories and controversy. So rob gronkowski says he does not take it to heart which is not surprising. He actually uses as fuel for jokes to lighten the mood in the locker room. He said, we know there's been a lot said about us this year, we've been embracing it. I would say a little more than usual, but we're not letting distract us. We're just embracing it and taking and bring out good energy for doing it all for laughs and fun. You know, what is interesting about gronk is that it really is a testament to Brady's duration longevity. It feels like gronk just entered the league a few years ago. And now he's going to be on the way out is that as big and strong gronk is six six and a half to sixty five careers in this league are short. He wasn't anywhere around Tom's for six or seven years. And now he's not going to be around Tom's last three or four years gronk is going to be a first ballot hall of Famer he is sandwiched right in the middle for Brady. And he's about to leave after this game. We said he's not gonna retire. Well, he may not retire. He may just not be with the patients. He I I don't I don't know about that. But he did not going to retire. But yes, I mean Brady Brady's longevity. And like we said he's only had one major injury. He's very LeBron. Like in that sense. It's it's a phenomenon in fine. Finally, the Rams offseason. Splurge saw them add Marcus Peters. Keep to leave and Donna consumer and Peter was asked about the team bringing in players with questionable reputations. And he had an interesting comparison. He said what happened when with little state? We'll bring in all those people's what's the difference between them bringing in guys and us bringing guys a change of scenery is always good. Sometimes I guess it just wasn't working in Casey was telling me move on. When you come into a great organization with a great head coach, great GM, great owner and just the whole organization how everything's run so smoothly, you respect it. And you want to be a part of their. But by the way, Marcus Peters is sounding very millennial. Which is hey, I just want to be part of a fun group. Like, this is not a knock on Molyneux's. I think it's a reality millennials. They don't really want to. They don't wanna painful voyage if they can join forces if they can go to Google and apple at a college. They don't want to move to a small town, even in my business. Nobody wants to go work in Midland Texas anymore. They they want to go to ESPN or FOX and be the weekend guy at work. We'll know this respected. Midland Texas, but did anyone ever wants to go to Midland? That's not that's the point though, if you're not from Midland, Texas from Los Angeles. Did you wanna leave Los Angeles and go start your career there and toil away for five years? I don't think it's necessary that millennials don't want to work hard. It's about working smarter not harder. And that may be from the appearance of it seem like it's like laziness or you're taking shortcuts, but maybe we just figured out a better way to do things. Well, your little soft, and I think the second part property. Mr. I've been in one fight in my life. Hey, it was fisticuffs. Joy with the news. Well, that's the news. Thanks for stopping by. The heard live really is something that you've been in more fights than I have. But I think I have a little bit more of an old school, man. Yeah. I think you're gonna like. I think you're gonna like the idea of everybody getting trophies at the end of the thing you've got to your tough. You're no nonsense. You're not a big you're tough. Also, though, you're you're an old soul. And I'm just finesse. I wouldn't have been a good hockey player. All right. He's he's one of the guys we lean on all sorts of content lead content guy. Monday morning quarterback, our friend at the Super Bowl via the cower global satellite network Albert Dreyer joining us, you know, it's interesting. We have an NBA story here that's been big. And we've seen the patriot to this thing over and over kinda give me a forty five. Second kind of how does it feel you've been to a lot of these Super Bowls because of New England. Does it feel like same old same old leading up to the game? It doesn't feel like there's no ver- arching storyline. And we don't always have one. There's not a big injury were worried about I don't think Todd Gurley much of a question. He's going to play. The question is have the Rams are gonna use him gronkowski's retirement. Maybe you can get excited about that. Or that can drum up some interest. Then of course, there's the old coach for the new coach ballot. Check versus McVeigh. So you have your storylines. It just doesn't feel like there's one overarching thing that we're all kind of. Clinging onto you know, listen you Tom Brady said at the other day, Albert, you know, the patriots you covered him for the Boston Globe. And one of the reasons we lean on you is you have more insight with them than anybody in this country, in my opinion. These are not linear. There have been years that New England felt like a Super Bowl team and this year. I sat it I don't think there are Super Bowl team. So I was surprised John dropping -ly that they went to Kansas City in one and blew out the chargers. Have we underrated their personnel? Are you surprised they're here? This is the two thousand one patriots, Colin. I mean, I really think it is. If you want to look at fourteen and sixteen and seventeen when they got to this point those teams did struggle in September and October. But by the time, they got to November. They had their crap together the difference here is that this team was really struggling in November and December they lost a Pittsburgh. They lost to Miami. So I know I don't think we're under aiding the patriots talent. They've invested in the defensive backfield to do to do what to deal with high power passing games on offense. You know, what you're going to go out and you're gonna put two hundred and forty five pound defensive ends in two hundred and twenty pound linebackers on the field to cover. We're gonna put a full back in the game. We're gonna draft to two hundred thirty pound kid in Sony, Michelle and the first. Around and we're going to put them behind a massive offensive line. And so I think the one thing that we overlooked. We don't underwrite the tout the one thing that we overlook is the way the Bill Nicosia build this team is not about collecting stars is about building a team to combat whatever's going on at the league at that given time people have made this into Bella check McVay. I think it's more Josh mcdaniels against Wade. Phillips Bill has a history of beating guys of beating guys Rex Ryan Mike Tomlin who sort of do what they do. And everybody knows it. Wade is a I do what I do. And you kinda know what I do historically Bella check and mcdaniels dice those guys up. I think way too big story line here. Your thoughts. Yep. I have agreed with that three four five years ago. It was DeMarcus ware von Miller up front and then keep till even Chris Harris on the back end. And now he's got that again in Los Angeles with Aaron Donald and Donna consumer up front and Marcus Peters until we on the back end. And so maybe this is just a matter of finally having the source of blue chip players that he's always idealized in his defense. I'm just telling you something changed when he got to Denver. He's played the patriots a lot tougher than he did previous to that. I want to go back to gronk enjoy and I were. Talking about this. I don't think he's a patriot next year. Because I think I think it's time. I think they'll draft a tight end. It's a good class. They got twelve picks. I think they'll drive the quarterback. So that margin, you know, what he can make football versus what he can make doing something else has shrunk think this year was very very difficult. Perform a tough year. And look this happens with a lot of superstar athletes when they lose their superpowers, very hard for guys to reinvent themselves. In fact, most guys can't do it. You look at desk, Brian how he struggled with it. I end the guy who's done it better than anybody over the years as Larry FitzGerald who went from being a dominant outside receiver to a very productive inside receiver. I respect what grants done the last few weeks, right and turning himself into a great blocker against the chargers. And then fighting his ass off against the chiefs. He's in that process of reinventing himself as just the last couple of years called have been very very difficult. And I think mentally he may have already started attach himself in the game. The Philadelphia Eagles last year where they came in sort of with an underdog spirit. Hey, we're facing a dynasty. We got big personalities. They kind of feel like the eagles last year to me. Yeah. And you know, I know Sean McVay called a couple of coaches around the league who've been in this stage. Dan, Quinn here in Atlanta was one and spent an extended period of time talking to them about how to handle the Super Bowl. And I think it's like anything else for this group. That's the way the Rams have sort of had their program run over the last couple of years in the two programs are obviously very very different. The key. Is that each coach's himself right like Bill the Bill you see up at the podium. The billion is hard on his players. That's who Bill Belichick is. That's how he was brought up Sean McVay runs program different way. And I think that that actually plays into handling a stage. I think the Rams are equipped their quipped to be in shootout. They're very comfortable. Shootouts? And similarly if you look at Tom Brady's last three years in the playoffs. They're averaging thirty four points a game. I foresee a high scoring game. And I think both teams are incredibly comfortable in that space. I think this year Super Bowl is going to look a lot. Like last year's verbal do. You have a feeling talking to coaches and sources. And I agree with that. I think a lot of this comes down to offense versatility which is going to make it really hard on the defenses. And I talked to Matt Nagy who played both these teams couple of days ago. And so you're going to have to defend everything at once. And so both teams have a way of making a very very difficult on defense. I think that that actually plays against the defenses in this game. Because both those defenses are built to take certain things away from you and both these teams can kind of toggle from one thing to the next. And so I'm with you. I think this is probably a high scoring game. And remember call on his high scoring his last year. Was last year's game came down to one defensive play who was going to make the one defensive play. Brandon Graham was the one who made that play for the eagles last year. Does it come down to a Stefan Gilmore or an Aaron Donald making that play? We'll see Albert Breyer Monday morning quarterback. Former patriot beat writer. Good talking to you, bud. You gotta call. I always love joy the ambient noise behind the guy we have with the microphone. Here. You can hear the bu-. It's called the official. That's called the buzz. You know, next year FOX has the Super Bowl. Yes. In Miami in Miami, which is one of my favorite places in America. And you live there for how many years almost ten years. Okay. So next year is a pot. Hey, if I may it's going to be it's going to be interesting. That's for sure. The problem might be there too. So there you go coming up next a hot kyri Irving rumor, I'm not making it up. Here we go with kyri Irving. That's coming up. Be sure to catch live editions of the heard weekdays at noon eastern, nine AM Pacific on Fox Sports radio f s one and the iheartradio app special occasions like Valentine's coming up one eight hundred flowers. Best Bocquet's around eighteen red roses twenty nine ninety nine or upgrade at twenty four roses, ten bucks. More one eight hundred flowers dot com, the code her H E R D good Avin. It is a Tuesday as great to be here. I'm seriously. I'm telling him in the football season's been amazing now, we're moving into crazy NBA trade deadline time. It's so good sports is so good college basketball is going to be heating up. I'm watching all sorts of Duke stuff last night. Let me start with a crazy kyri Irving story. A Kris Haines who I trust yahu sports comes on the show. We like Chris Hanes. I trust him. There's a growing belief. Chief of uncertainty that kyri Irving will re sign with Boston. It's one of the reasons. Anthony Davis doesn't want to be a Celtic does. He didn't know of IRA Irving is going to be a Celtic. All right time out. Three things about Kyrie Irving. Number one. He's a flake he left. Lebron? An according to sources wants to get back with him a boy. He's not doing a Kobe Bryant. He's not doing Tim Duncan. He's not taking pay cuts and plan twenty years. You know, they do it fine. So Sunday a lot of you are having a Super Bowl party. Soft drinks, Uber in the drinks that guy trust a little ass. Icee? You bring the chips gotta have sandwiches. Gotta have sodas you bring the chips kyri is definitely not the sandwich guy. He's not the soda guy. He's not even the chips guy. Kyri is the second chips guy the guy trust the least who's funny makes the party better. But you tell him. One. Aren't you? Also, bring some chips if he brings him great. But he may not and you'll still be okay. You don't build around, Kyrie Irving. There are lots of people in every industry you work with him. I've worked with them that the sandwich people to the party that the drink people to the party. He's like the second chip guy. You can't ask him in an emergency. You can't trust him. Kyrie's always been a flake. And that's okay flakes. Make the party more fun. Flakes are often very talented. Did nothing wrong with having flakes. I can be flaky. You can probably be flaky whatever an accountant needs. I'm the opposite of that. I mean, our our society is filled with actors and singers and entertainers and artists and they're not accountants highs lows emotional. That's what makes the world. Go round. The kyri is way more artists than accountant. And when I hear these rumors he wants to get back with the Braun and Anthony Davis is like I don't know about Boston here. Smy message to Anthony Davis. You do you. I heard he signing long-term with Boston. I think he said that I have heard he's going to the New York Knicks by himself, which IMI Butler. And now I'm here in LeBron Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving in Los Angeles. Okay. All right. You you can't fool me once fool me twice. Whatever the saying is shame on me. Shame on you. I don't know. I can't get him in order. Well, he hasn't left Boston yet you trust. Chris hanes. I do I do I think personality thing is that there's there's a going feeling he didn't say he wanted to leave Boston. He hasn't. Left. Boston smoke fire. I mean, there is a growing suspicious Katya flake, Katie left. No, katie's not aflaid K D. Shady leaves Golden State was that he's a flake. You don't think timeout? Somebody told me this the other day, they said a Kevin Durant can leave Golden State, and I'm like timeout. Don't try to get happier than happy. Golden State is perfect for rent. First of all, they don't ask them to be the emotional leader that stuff. They don't ask them to be the coach that's Kerr. They don't ask him to be the tough guy that's dream on. They don't ask him to guard the best player or the best wing. That's often. Claire draymond. They just asked him to come who can score like if Kevin Durant. I defended him leaving Russell Westbrook. The ball hog. Okay. I defended him there. If you leave Golden State, new euro flake defend kyri, leaving the Braun. Okay. No. But but. There's a big gap between leaving LeBron. And then leaving LeBron and Brad Stevens and going back with LeBron. That's flaky again, so are bad. But he hasn't done that yet. And I understand him leaving LeBron. There are a lot of players who don't want to play with LeBron's silly. As it may it may be silly. But everybody doesn't have the same motivation. But again, but but yeah, I mean they've been to the final three straight times. Lebron was clearly comfortable with kyri and the heroine some games and taking shots again. I'm not it. It's it's there's a huge gap between leaving LeBron for the Celtics. Okay. And then leaving the Celtics to go back with LeBron. I mean, it seems a bit silly. If he leaves the Celtics and goes back with the it's like, what was the point of all that? Yeah. Now, you're flake your flake. But he hasn't done yet. Sh- seems. He again, he's not the sandwich guy. He's not the beverage guy. He ate the chips guy. Kyrie's the second chips guy. Car shopping can be confusing. There's a lot of terms dealer price list, price, invoice. Here's what's not confusing. Jeff Garcia is coming up this hour three times champion Troy Brown. Former patriot will be joining us this hour. Toyed Taylor is joining me right now, Joey how are you? Good people coming up to you probably people coming up to me now and say who do you like in the game? I had a speaking engagement yesterday. One of the things I talked about in my life cover in sports. This has always been true. The fear of losing more often drives successful people than the joy and the jubilation of winning. I cover Jerry Tarquini years ago at UNLV. He could remember every loss in his career from twenty years earlier the time outs. The miss shots wins for Jerry just became. Blurred. Tom Brady talked about losing to the Philadelphia Eagles. And it sounds a lot. Like what I believed to be true the losses hurt more than the winds are great. All these officers are suffering, everyone that you've had you you'll remember these forever. These are just the playoff games, folks. They had to shift the line. Because now eighty three percent of the bats from the public. The masses are on New England. But the opening line was. Rams favor. When people say who's going to win the game. I say it's hard not to take New England. But. The brand of the Rams is high scoring winning shootout there five and one in games in which both teams score over thirty and Vegas had him as the favorites before the overwhelming majority of the public and the public money came pouring in on New England. I think this is interesting there, obviously different ways to win in sports. You know there. There is more than one way to do it in. What's interesting to me is that Bella check is really the perfect fit for New England. Peter King told the story yesterday he lets his young quarterback sometimes override him on the biggest plays the game. I listen to my stars. I'll take in consume Marcus Peters, a keep delete. So what you're seeing Boston? Does it their way? I mean, heavy analytics they'll dip into stars reluctantly, Los Angeles. They'll do analytics to but they love their stars. Both are working and both coaches are perfect fits for the cultures. That have always embodied their cities. Good Avin today. Jeff Garcia and Troy Brown will be stopping by Anthony Davis. Laker stuff is there's just a whole bunch of information out there. I don't trust a ton of it. You know, I said this to start the show a lot of times stories break, and they're exciting and. They're fun. But I have sort of a kind of a low trust level on one. I'm reading and what I'm hearing. All you need to know about Anthony Davis in the Braun. This is really all you need to know is that in September. And then he Davis signed with club sports who represent LeBron check. That was the first thing. Then Anthony Davis, and you knew it was coming had to announce eventually do his team. I'm out. He just did that check the third part of this. And I believe this will come probably sooner than later is Anthony Davis saying I'll only play for the Lakers two out of three boxes have been checked. I'm told the Lakers would like to get this done sooner than later trading deadlines coming up what February seventh I'm told they'd like to. I'm also told by people I trust they love Kyle. Kuzma, they still really really like Lonzo. And then I want to give up everything because they worked hard to draft scout and build these players on this roster and they like this roster. They just want another piece. So I don't buy this. They're given up everything to get Anthony Davis. I don't think. They should give up everything to add Anthony Davis. I think they should fight like hell to keep Lonzo ball and either use him or use him later to get another piece preferably an elite shooter. So a lot of information out there. I'm not saying it's all misinformation, I'm just saying I don't trust a lot of what's out there. Jeff Garcia, four time. Pro bowler joins us from the Super Bowl. Coming up. If they keep rolling Michigan will be a one or a two. So Michigan's having a good year in college hoops, the big ten as a rule is by the way cold and flu season, try Vic sign X nasal spray as directed works up to twelve hours. I did I think eat most of a jar of this as a kid. I would not recommend that Vicks sign X nasal spray. It interesting. Our next guest is always reminded me a Tony Romo. Tony Romo was undrafted. Tony Romo had great escape ability. Tony Romo played for about a decade. And Tony Romo was a pro bowler for many of the years. My next guest has Jeff Garcia who liked. Tony Romo was undrafted. Who played for slightly more than a decade who had four pro bowls and who played with a couple of diva wide receivers. There's a te'o in there. There's Dez Bryant, right. Jeff played with Teo. I always thought the difference between Tony Romo member. Jeff Garcia made the playoffs with three teams. I think he won a playoff game with two teams. The difference is Romo played his entire career. With the biggest brand in the NFL the Dallas Cowboys and Jeff Garcia played for the Niners for half a decade. But then several other teams, but I always thought Romo and Jeff Garcia very athletic, hyper mobile over a decade Pro Bowl guys undrafted. Never quite got the love for their maturity and their ability to handle star receivers. Ego's with coaches and now joining us at the Super Bowl via the coward global satellite network. Jeff Garcia, by the way, Jeff you played until you were thirty nine years old. I I watched a lot of Jeff Garcia. How surprised are you? That Brady's at forty forty one. You took care of your body. You were always in impeccable shape. You did have a couple of injuries. Could you could run and Tom's not a runner? But are you shocked by his age and his performance? Not at all. I think when you look at players these days how they take care of themselves how they lengthen their youth. Basically, they're long Javadi by just what they put into their bodies. How they prepare their bodies physically mentally how he is protected as a player. Benefits him an awful lot. I probably put myself more in harm's way at times. Yeah. Dan, Tom will ever do? But at the end of the day, I really believe that I could have played in my forties. But you need that consistency. Like, you were mentioning I didn't have the stability of one franchise. One organization bind into me keeping me around for a decade or more than a decade. I continually had to prove myself. I went to the raiders at thirty nine years old. I believed I should have been the starting quarterback instead of jamarcus Russell, which it turned out to be his last season the National Football League at that point. The political part of the game was starting to interrupt with my just aches and just excitement for playing the game. Which I always brought always felt like I brought a youthful energy. A passion drive. Just a never say die attitude, and at that point, I just figured. You know, what maybe it's time to just move on. And think about other things in my life. Now that was difficult to do because of how passionate I was. But to see a guy like Tom Brady still excelling at such a such an older age. Drew Brees guys that are playing their best football into their forties is not unrealistic these days based upon the fact that how they're protected first and foremost, but most importantly, Secondly, just how they take care of themselves. These guys prepare in the off season by taking care of their bodies by prepare themselves, mentally and physically to last through a season. You know, it's interesting Abella check his system is sort of anti-star squashing personality McVeigh is more kind of flourishing and embracing personality. There are two different systems. They both worked terrific. What would you have preferred as a quarterback the rigid Bella Cecchi in style? Or the McVeigh is let's bring the stars. I'll take a little dysfunction, even my punters. Cool. What would you have preferred? I think when you look at ballot check style it works. I mean, he has proven it time and time again that no matter who he plugs into his system as long as they buy in. They play championship caliber football. Now, I'm probably more leaning toward the McVay style is just my type guy, and I know Sean McVeigh he was a quality control guy for our two thousand eight Tampa Bay Buccaneers when I was playing for the bucks. So I got to know Sean, a little bit. And I've talked to Sean over the years. I like his approach I think what Sean brings is an energy that people buy into. It's not about taking advantage of the system. I think he keeps players accountable. I think that there are some rules and regulations that everybody abides by. But he does keep it loose. He keeps it funny keeps it friendly. But at the end of the day, his passion his energy shine through. That's what everybody buys into. They love how excited he gets how motivation. He is I I'm that type of guy. I'm type of guy that has that intensity that shares that emotion that shares that energy with my teammates when I stepped into the huddle. That's what I was. I was a ball of fire just ready to explode and guys rallied around that I probably would end up going that direction. But hey, you can't take away from what Bella check what Brady have done for twenty years. I will say this. I generally Jeff Jeff Garcia joining us. I generally, Jeff, I think you have to keep dysfunction in football to a minimum. This is a sport about officiency in choreography and leadership. And and and will we over me, but you played with key? Oh and one the Rams of taken on to LeBron Dhamma consume and personalities take me to your years. How much of this free agency big personality stuff can a locker room withstand? Jeff. Yeah. I think it's important to have quality leadership within your locker room when you have quality leadership within a certain number of guys guys that have proven themselves as veterans you can take on a big bigger personality like that. And keep it at bay from the standpoint of just produce on the field. We're not gonna worry about your fill the antics. We're not gonna worry about two personality as long as you show up every day and give your best in practice. Give your best in the meetings. Give your best in game on game day than we can handle the bigger personalities. But if you don't have that leadership in the locker room and those high character guys that function together on an everyday basis, then that's what that's when those bigger personalities eat a team up that take the territory apart. They break a team up all those sort of things that create the dysfunction. I think the things with Teo that we experience in the past. We knew what he brought to the table from standpoint of. He was a difference maker on the field. He was a beast to contend with. We knew that on game day. He was going to show up. He was going to give an all out effort to help win a football game. That's what truly mattered at the end of the day. If you don't show up when it's time when the light is on you and you're not performing, but you want to be a distraction off the field as well. Then those guys need to be dismissed those guys have no room in your locker room and are not good for the team. Obviously. Now, it's a matter of how you control that. By the way, you came into this league you're on drafted and it wasn't because you weren't talented at San Jose State. I saw you playing college. It was because you were small you were six fit one. You ran a little bit. And everybody was like well Jeff Garcia runs a little too much. And I wish we is six foot three. Now Baker Mayfield Russell Wilson. I almost feel like Jeff you grew up in the wrong generation that today you'd be a first round pick. Then you're undrafted. What do you make? What do you make Jeff of all these smaller quarterback? Because you were that guy. Okay. You were a four-time. The only reason you didn't get drafted because your height. Right. I was twenty years too early. I came out during the time when everybody was looking for the next Choi Aikman. Yes. Six four two hundred twenty five pounds and to see a guy like Baker Mayfield. Russell wilson. Who's done it consistently for a number of years now number of years now to see those guys having the seasons being the caliber players that they are showing the leadership abilities that it takes to be the quarterback at the end of the day. It's not the measurement of the size measurement of the heart. And the mind that separates you from being an average player to a great player. I believe that those guys have what it takes from within themselves to be great. Because of how they study the game. They approach the game the leadership that they bring the locker room the ability to to raise the level of play around them by the players that are surrounding them is what makes a great quarterback. I believe I had those characteristics. I had to prove it year in and year out with multiple team. But at the end of the day, I brought the same tally every single day to the locker room. I tried to be perfect in my approach to the game. How I prepared time wise it was immense, man. It was grueling. But it was satisfying at the end of the day because I knew I gave it my all. And if I could lift the level of play not only of myself, but my teammates around me that I had a positive thing going, by the way, I love the Jeff you're still an amazing shape. I can tell that even though we're thousands of miles away. You're an incredible shape your plan in Wednesday night's wounded warrior amputee football game. And you're also part of guardian LLC working with NFL retired players to launch a line of products for athletes. You're very much still in football. I can tell from the temple the way you're talking that you would play today if somebody would sign you, and I really liked that you're still involved in the game. Well, the passion is there. I think you can't diffuse that passion. I think when you look at NFL players in what our next responsibilities are in life. I think a lot of us struggle in that retirement age as to what do we do? What can we put our passion tour? We were so adamant about playing the game. We love the game. We'd been around the game our entire lives. Now, all of a sudden the game's not accessible to us anymore. Where do we now put our energy toward I've been fortunate enough to be brought onto a group in San Diego where I currently reside. That has introduced a nutritional line that I'm so behind it involves Nanno CBD a product from hemp that is a neuro protectant as well as an anti inflammatory recovery type, hydration drinks. So when you look at the benefits of what CBD can do for your body for your mind from the standpoint of anti inflammation in comparison to drugs like Advil or tie. Donal where this has ten to twenty times the power, but yet doesn't affect the liver like Tylenol or Advil will where it's something that your body recognizes right away that takes into your body that puts it into places that can help your body and recovery and also sustainability I love working out. I love staying in shape. I have four young kids. They're active. I want to be active with them. It's important for me to look into things that are going to allow me from the standpoint of health opportunities to be as healthy as I can be an to also be within the boundaries of what is right as compared to what is wrong. This is not something that has THC or marijuana base or anything like that the hemp plant is completely different. And what we were providing what we are launching this week with sponsoring the wounded warrior game is something that I think can benefit players health from the standpoint of dealing with C T E T B, I the. Military X game athletes fighters, boxers all those guys that deal with traumatic brain trauma and the benefits of CBD to the euro system, and how it helps recovery and protect it. It's just a win win. It gives me that backed up passionate talk about something that I truly enjoy and help people that I have once been a part of an of looking to help in myself. It's something that I utilize personally and I'm just sharing the benefits. I'm not a guy that has looked to alternative drugs or medicine to help me get through aches and pains, I've never been someone who's been reliant on anything whether it be legal or illegal. I've just been a natural person as far as my approach. This is a way to be natural to be positive to be one hundred percent accepted by the country as far as CBD is concerned in the hamp plan is concerned. And that's where we're going with this, Jeff I gotta run anytime, you're in Los Angeles. Stop by our show. I love to. Have you on the chair? Great stuff, man. Good luck to you. Thank you man guardian. Athletic dot com. Check it out. All right. Jeff Garcia who I contend. I'll say it again is Tony Romo. He just played on multiple teams undrafted big-play guy. Three playoff wins at three different teams or at three different teams to the playoffs. Goodstuff joy Taylor. The news. Turn on the news. This is the headline news. So this time last year. It seemed like a shirt thing that Josh mcdaniels would be the next coach of the colts. But here we are. And he's still in New England. We obviously know that everything that happened there. Well, McGuinness says he isn't proud of how it went down. But he still has the desire to be a head coach again, he cannot control how teams view him after what happened last year. He said at the end of the day you have to make the best decision for yourself and your family. I wasn't proud of any of that stuff. It's been a year. I think everyone is moved forward from that. And the decisions that are made are made if I had the chance to do that. I would love to was a weird move. And I wouldn't recommend it for anybody. It it. It was he had a job. They offered it to them. You know, in a weird way the colts got the right guy. And just because you're not the first choice. Frank reich. Doesn't mean you're not the right guy. A lot of people first choice. I I didn't necessarily agree with you. When it came to the cliff Kingsbury thing you see because he's an. Distant? He was only there for a short amount of time. I get it you commit to something, and you should see it out. But I think the the jump in the opportunity for him was it's kind of like, what are you gonna do? Are you going to keep this guy there? You're going to make him feel about about passing up on a NFL head coaching position reasons. Assistant at USC, this snow where you're putting together staff, and you're encouraging people to leave the jobs that they already have. And you've made a commitment to people literally thousands of people. It's not just aperture assembling. You're leaving. You're leaving on entire situation. The way joy, this is gonna hurt his reputation for the next twenty years. I know people in the NFL that are like out on him because of that. Now, the good news is Robert Kraft very much on him. But this will absolutely there are certain moves in your career that lasts forever. This one's gonna hurt him. That decision you have to stick with no matter. What is being told you on the other end? And I mean this. There was a lot of coaching news this off season in Green Bay was the only team that interviewed him. So it's clearly affected to some degree so former Jags defensive end Dante Fowler had some of his best and worst days while battling Tom Brady. Brady. Brushoff two sacks from Fowler. Tyler in last year's AFC title game that to that fourth quarter rally that engine twenty four twenty heartbreak for the Jags. But Fowler also believes the Jaguars thought too much of themselves after making it to that title game last year. Remember there was a lot of talk before that game. And he did not find that the same was true of the Rams. He said, I'm grateful to work with a group of guys like that. We have a lot of star power guys with accolades rings, hoping Prudential's with these guys are humble, and they put all that behind them. They keep the main thing the main thing yet the Jags felt like immature the Rams feel confident. And I know it's a fine line. But the the Jags you kind of looked at it and went oh, stop talking. Would the Rams? I'm like they've been great now for two years. I'm kind of okay. And it looks like they're going to be great for the next ten. I'm much. It's not because I live in Los Angeles. The Jags came off to me is kind of juvenile. I think this is a bunch of veteran guys like a keep to leave Dominick ensue that are very very confident felt like the Jags were very one-sided team. They felt like being Gary by their defense was very strong, but they didn't have any consistency in the organization that would make you feel like oh going into this game. I have some confidence in them with the Rams. They may not have a long history of consistency. Obviously. Because it hasn't been that long. This team hasn't been assembled the way it is for that long. But they've all season we've talked about how they have a quiet confidence about them. They were I mean, they had an incredible season. And we're in Los Angeles. I mean, we don't see them. There's no talk in any capacity other than they're just really good football. I see dodgers. I hear dodgers. I hear Rams. I hear college kids. The Rams don't. Faulk Rams of the quietest great team in the NFL in Los Angeles. They don't really a reflection of Sean McVeigh, and you know, having having team with the same with everyone being on the same page and same energy. And and I guess same mantra is is a good thing. So finally drew locked now seems to be a lock first round pick which team will take him. We don't know. But it could be the Broncos because according the Denver post. John Elway is smitten with lock which we don't know what that means. They have the tenth overall pick and he didn't start his interested. I'm didn't star senior ROY did attend the Arkansas Missouri game in November lock had two touchdowns. Ran for two more. They want thirty eight to nothing. But the biggest knock on drew lock is his accuracy immediately makes me an out. Yeah. I'm not. I'm I I don't love drew lock as much as I will Greer and drew locker talented. I don't necessarily think they you know, I always said about Baker Mayfield. He's way too accurate thrower. Not succeed. These guys are athletes, and they're certainly talented. I don't see them. He and will Greer has great NFL prospects. I don't think it's necessarily how athletic you are like Baker Mayfield is not let a guy the comparisons. Johnny Mattel's Baker Mayfield. I've always thought were ridiculous. He's accurate. That's why I always liked maker Mayfield. The biggest transition point for quarterbacks from college to the NFL is how accurate you are Baker Mayfield a sixty nine point eight percent completion rate. Drew lock fifty six point nine and four years. That's that's not good. Can't you can't sustain that? In. The reminds me a little bit of a kid named Jake locker who played at Washington who was athletic and run around. And I always said Jake locker, and it's not gonna work. He was never a college thrower. I don't mind if you can run around, but you have to be able to be accurate number one thing to me. It's the number one thing. Good stuff joy Taylor with the news. Well, that's the news and thanks for stopping by heard lie. Nobody no. Knows that New England system better than Troy Brown. He got three rings with it. He was on the patriots before they became the patriots. And he'll join us live from the Super Bowl Naxi be sure to catch live additions of the heard weekdays at noon eastern, nine AM Pacific. Well, he played fifteen years in the NFL all of the New England Patriots. He was Bill Bella checks. I do it all player he returned kicks. He played defensive back. He was a tailback. He was a wide receiver players like that don't exist much anymore. He is joining us at the Super Bowl, the cower global satellite network. Troy Brown, by the way, Choi, you were offered a lot of money at the end to go to New Orleans and the saints, and you turned it down you stayed with New England. I'm sure Bella check loved that. You saw the wisdom and staying with the patriots go back to that. Why didn't she leave? Well, at at that particular time, I was at the end of my career, you know, probably had one to maybe pretty decent years. They me, and I just felt like a particular time I spent my entire career with New England. And why leave it particular point and try to start something new and build a whole new foundation in in New Orleans when I had a chance to stay in a place where I'd won three championships with New England, and I didn't really wanna mess that up and look as still paying for me right now, you know, so they've been still stood winning championships. And I'll get a trip to the Super Bowl every year. He works for NBC in Boston. Troy you saw the early Tom Brady what he wasn't as dominant. He didn't have the the Randy moss. While was the first sign to you that this guy was different. Well, I think when he first came into the league he was in working out. He was there early. He was there late. The guys all had a tremendous amount of respect for Tom Brady. He was meeting with guys. I mean, we one time we had a we had a receive a Vincent brisby Beck in two thousand he ran around Tom through with a different direction. They missed it. You know, and Tom started walking down the field meet Vincent halfway and not in the district spec for way, but it was just trying to figure out what Brent what missing was thinking on that particular pass because he wanted to get on the same page with them. You know, you just don't see rookie quarterback's doing those kinds of things especially with veteran receiver. So and from that point even Vincent had a tremendous amount of respect for him is like this guy's ready to play. He wants to be good. He wants to get better. You know, let's help them along. So at that particular point his leadership skills will display you'll Brady has never been considered the athletic guy or the big arm guy. But but you don't last this long without skills is at lettuces them or is arm. Underrated to you. Well, I don't know about his athleticism, but his arm could be underrated. Especially at this point in his career. I think we saw Brady late in the season. Throwing some absolute lasers too few guys. I think Cordell Paddison caught one few of the pass through late late in the season here to them in on those third down plays those passes have some zip on. So he sold it. He's still got he's he's still got some arms trumping out thin him. You know, and I don't know where people are talking about. You know, he's losing strength is losing this. He's losing net. But he seems to be perhaps in the best physical shape. I've seen him in in his career. Troy brown. Joining us Troy when you looked at ballot check Bella check, really embrace you and you embraced it. Now. When you go back you were an eighth round draft pick. Why do you think so quickly Bill and you connected because you know, he kind of squashes personalities he's not for everybody. But you appear to connect very early with them. Well, I think but both came there in ninety six as a defensive assistant after being fired from Cleveland, and at that particular point he didn't say much, I didn't say much we're pretty pretty quiet guys. And then he had opportunity to come back in two thousand and one. And then I was like basically one of his first signings that you may when as the new coach of the New England Patriots. And at that particular point, he just said, basically, you know, we had a hard enough time stopping you down with the New York Jets. So we wanna bring you back here. And we're going to give you an opportunity to be a starting wide receiver here in New England alongside Terry Glenn at the particular time. So I mean on all I have asked from from coaches is this to be honest with me if I sucked tell me, I suck. If I if I got a chance to be something let me be that. And give me an opportunity to be that. And Bill was always stayed with me. Do you think the ballot check Brady controversy in the off season? Their differences was overblown or do you think there was some stress between the two? I'm pretty sure does poppy some stress between the two I mean, they they've been together for eighteen nineteen years. I mean, it's it's like trying to be married that long without any stress in the family. You know what? I mean. I get mad at my kids. You know? But I still love them. You know, what I I get out there him when I love him to death. I do anything in the world foaming, you know. And that's kind of I think what happened with those guys last year, you know, and, you know, those kinds of things happen when you're in a long term relationship like that. But no, the one great thing about it. They're all professionals that both professionals. They put it aside last year, and we're still able to make it to the Super Bowl, and I chose the you know, how how they go about doing their job. It's true professionals about gronk doesn't have long in the league adamant past his prime. Do you feel like the dynasties coming to an end soon? Well, I don't I don't know about the player wise, you know, was at a point earlier this year where they would stay things will get not a house, you know, out of an and they were gonna grievances in public. You know, when I felt like things were getting out of hand, then, but I think player wise, I think they have the ability to always, you know, rebuil- if guys aside to walk away from the game, you know, obviously, they got to start replacing some of these guys I'll festively end defensively you got hot towel mccourty. Those guys are getting up there in age. So you need to start replenishing some of that. But I think as long as you have Bella check and went in the show. You have Tom Brady wanted things on offense and making his decisions there and Dante Scott, Nikki, I might add. I think he's been a key piece to to that New England success as well. You know, I think they can pretty much as long as those guys wanna stick around. I think the dynasty will be intact, by the way, you won three Super Bowls. That's a lot of Super Bowls Tom's now. But in nine years Super Bowls are is each one. Do you remember vividly or do they kind of? Blurred together. Well, you kind of remember pretty vividly, you know, for the most part just two thousand one obviously says aside from the rest of them because it was the first one. There was nine eleven stuff going on that year. We lost a quarterback. Coach died Drew Bledsoe was knocked out. So you kind of remember a lot of things about different that those those different Super Bowl. So, but I I can't remember I'm just pretty pretty vividly right now by the way, ballot check Brady, which one retires. I ta bills getting close to seventy everybody assumes it'll be Brady. But you know, Bill pretty well. He isn't going to do this for seven more years. That's the thing. I don't know, man. I mean bill's been interesting for a long long long long long time. And I remember him saying while ago that he wasn't going to beat the Marv Levy, you want wasn't going to be like more of Levy and retire was seventy one seventy two whatever my family, wasn't that particular point. So I think he's sixty six now. So I think he's right about that for year, Mark. So I think they're both on pace to retire around the same time Tom's forty-one. He said forty five was going to be his age. So I think they leave this thing together. Okay. And finally Sunday. I know, you know, the New England structure, you know, the, I would guess you like New England. I think it's gonna look like last year Super Bowl. I I suspect we have a bunch of points with a bunch of good offensive players. What do you think? You think no defense in his game? I just think I think the Rams are very comfortable in shootouts. I think they're hard to stop. And I think I think Tom hard to stop. Yeah. That's the thing. I think for the Rams they have a chance in this football game. They cannot fall behind early in his game. They can't let the patriots play the way they played the last three or four weeks and the end of the season where they just pound about or one of that you and when eight minutes off the clock as hard as we don't have the ball. So I mean, it's an that's going to be tough on them. If they fall behind by a couple of scores early like did against New Orleans. I don't think I don't think the patriots letting them back in Troy great talking to you. Congrats on your career, man. Thank you, man. Thank you. Having me on fifteen years with one team that is just unheard of in any. That's you know, you get your getting into a Kobe jeeter thing v and he was the last guy for them that was kick returner DB wide receiver. You know? He was like Danny Woodhead. If Danny Woodhead went on defense to like, Troy did everything for them. Bella check loved him. You know, Ballard checks first big interview with Ernie. Of course, he when he was in Cleveland trying to get the Browns job earning. Of course, he says the most amazing thing about Bella check in his first head coaching interview was that he could he could spend three hours on slot receivers on defensive tackles, everybody had a place and Bella checks always loved people that can do like return guys that can do multiple things and Troy Brown was his first like gadget guy that could do cause for Bella check. It's a salary cap league. If you can do two things over one thing you save me money on. Players by the way. Don't let your age beat. You wanna feel stronger and younger and more vitality in your life. Go to buy 'em drive dot com, code H. E R D created ten years ago. Walgreens, WalMart, Amazon other fine retailers. Final hour. Chris haines? He's got all sorts of stories. Breaking today in the NBA next. Be sure to catch live editions of the heard weekdays at noon eastern, nine AM Pacific on Fox Sports radio affects one and the iheartradio app. This is the heard wherever you may be in. However, you may be listening our three live in LA. We're on iheartradio, Fox Sports radio one. By the way, I'm just reading I was just reading on my little device heaping. Get a key to leave their asked him about his favorite time for the patriot twenty throughout the patriots. And he said, yeah, I like the fact we wanna walk, and I always think about this. I just let me storytime with uncle column. I think about this all the time. His all these baseball players, and they just go for the money over winning. Can you imagine? Eighty one road games in baseball. And you're getting on a plane going to Kansas City, knowing you're going to lose three or four like I'm not saying money doesn't matter, but you get to thirty million bucks in the Bank just on the interest alone. And I mean, how many cars can you have the I losing sucks. It's it's brutal. I just wouldn't wanna lose just over L. But I got a lot of money and you're a loser. I mean who wants to lose in high-school college. There's a reason the best at basketball players go to Duke. They wanna win games. I some people just are just motivated by other things. I know you're right anyway, fifteen minute Chris Haines, yahu sports guys good bring him on the very latest. There's a bunch of stuff percolating on Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis. I think I'm going to have my favorite best for last ever today in forty minutes. I've watched Super Bowls all the way back to nineteen seventy-two. I'm going to give you my five favorite and their odd. And I love him for different reasons. I'm gonna give you my five favorite Super Bowls of all time. Well, a bevy of teams now I'm reading Milwaukee a want in on the Anthony Davis sweepstakes yet raptors to there's a ton of rumors flying out there. I'm still not sure about any of it. But let me start with this. Here's what we know though about Anthony Davis. K this isn't the glossy magazine cover. Let's be real. Let's keep it a hundred number one is with boogie cousins, a great all-star. He couldn't make the playoffs. Seven years one playoff series win. Sorry. If those facts getting away of how you feel about number two is he's heard a lot including currently one year. He played sixty one games. One sixty four one sixty seven one sixty six. Big guys. Don't get healthier. You do get that. Right. A number three is he shoots better from the outside hits hits a three or two occasionally butt seventy percent of his baskets right next to the right next to the hoop. You watch in the current NBA. This idea I'm going to give up everything for Anthony Davis. Let me ask you LeBron in his fifteenth or sixteenth year and Anthony Davis who doesn't he's not Kevin Durant as a shooter. And I've given up everything else. Well, what what's that get me? It'll be fun. I'm not saying, it's not interesting. I'm not saying it's not really really good enough being Golden State. Let's let's be real about this. I've seen what LeBron James does the big, man. I saw what he did Anton Jameson. I saw what he did to Kevin love. And I saw what he did to Chris Bosh. He frustrated them. He made them in the stretch fours. They got in the way of LeBron James. It's not like LeBron has a history of he's great with Biggs know, LeBron's great with shooters. He's good with Kyle Korver. He he was good when Bosch moved outside it could shoot three's. Lebron's always been great with shooters because he gets the ball. He drives the ball. He'd be great with Klay Thompson. I said earlier he'd be great with Bradley Beal, I've seen LeBron James of big is I saw him. Don jamieson. I saw a Chris Bosh? I saw Kevin love he drove those guys Batty. This idea I'm going to give up everything time out. The Lakers have. Worked hard to draft and developed this young core players, they're not terrible. They're just not great players. But Lonzo ball's got talent, I'm gonna fight keep him. If I have to give him away to get. I would. But he's got value somewhere. Somebody needs to point guard. Who's got great vision and six five and can rebound and hit threes. I'd fight to keep Kyle. Kuzma, he can hit threes. Good player going to be eighteen twenty twenty game guy. Right. I'm going to fight to keep Josh heart. High functioning Villanova high Q can hit a three this idea which could give give away the house to get him. That's what the Knicks did with Carmelo. And then they found out Carmelo was sitting around with no furniture around the house. The nominee pillows didn't have any end tables. Carmelo me. I'm great big chandelier middle of the house. We're going to sit on now we gave everything away. This is a business, folks. You don't give everything away for anybody? I saw story yesterday. It was like the Knicks should give away. This. There's an I'm thinking, I'm the Knicks. I got porzingas I got Kevin Knox. And I have a chance to get the number one picking Zion. Williamson what am I gonna Anthony? Davis four that's going to be a really exciting team. That's going to be a playoff team. Tell me one time. Anthony Davis has been a solution to any major NBA. Dilemma Wade been in the league seven years. I mean, I like him but the Lakers worked hard to draft these players in scout these players and coach these players and develop these players not giving these guys away. I'm sitting there watching yesterday cable TV sports shows, and I'm on social media and the angry bird Twitter. I'm I'm listening to radio and a lot of people out there and as a whole bunch. Nobody knew anything. Let's let's just state the two things we absolutely know. And these can be argued and these are for sure number one the Celtics can't trade for him yet. They can't under NBA restrictions. The Celtics cannot trade for him. Yet fact and number two the pelicans are pest and they're mad at LeBron. And they're mad at clutch sports, and they're mad at the Lakers, and they're not gonna do them any favors. They're not going to do the Lakers any favors whatsoever. They're going to want Lonzo and walk MMA and watt Ingram and watt. Pigs and what eggo on everything? So you know, I I understand getting excited about this stuff. I really do blitz. Let's put it in a little context. Little context. Let me segue to this. Now, we're gonna talk to a bowl. Everybody's got devices joys guy phone. I got phone Goulet guy phone to a golf. Everybody's got phone. I love phones, but I got kids. I know what they're doing to my kids. And I know what they're doing to me. I'm less patient. People don't let stuff marinate anymore. They don't let stuff bake Jason Whitlock. Says this about it. Great lines. Let's play it. Young people today. They just hate the oven. They hate baking in the oven. Everybody thinks hey, toss me in the microwave, and I'm on taste as good as something. That was slow cook way your mama used to make. And it just isn't true. It's so true. Nobody wants to use the oven. We all want the microwave somebody came up to me yesterday and said I don't trust Jared Goff is he the future of the Rams. And I said, of course, he's the future of the Rams will he's not the future of the Rams. I mean, I watch him. And I'm like we fourteen and three on the road. You don't think Jared Goff is the future of the Rams? Well, I mean, I watch him. I'm against New Orleans. He wasn't what let me remind you that we used to have before the iphone patients. Give me Tom Brady's first Super Bowl. Oh, wait that year. He had an eighty six point five passer rating, eighteen TD's twelve picks. He wasn't elite his second Super Bowl two years later. He had twenty three touchdowns twelve picks in eighty-five passer rating completed sixty percent of his throws. He was not a legend his third Super Bowl in two thousand and four his passer rating was now ninety two Twenty-eight TD's, but fourteen pigs Tom Brady didn't emerge as superstar until his fourth Super Bowl, which by the way with Randy moss. He lost that year. Tom was a legend his passer rating was over one hundred and fifteen he compl-. Waited sixty nine percent of its throws fifty touchdowns. Eight picks did New England ever say. Well, we we don't know if. Brady's the guy folks Tom Brady. Didn't peak until the seventh year in the league was thirty. That's when he was Tom. You know, what Brady are devices are phones gives us instant gratification. We don't let anything marinate and anything bake. Gough at this point in his career is better than Tom Brady got a better arm. He was a three year starter in college. And the number one pick Tom was the hundred and ninety nine th pick led by his defense. Lebron we think of him as every year is in the finals for seven years got to one Michael didn't get to a final until year. It was not very good the first year or two everybody loves Raymond the network almost pulled it. So than Tom Brady at this point in his career is Anthony Davis is this thing gonna get done in the next ten days. Chris Haines yahu sports. Noses stuff will join us on the couch coming up next. Yahu sports been covering the NBA for a long time. Let's get to it. First of all the pelicans. I've been told by somebody I trust are not in the greatest mood are not gonna help the Lakers out. They feel manipulated. They're mad at LeBron. They're mad at club sports. So I am told ain't gonna make sure the Lakers feel a little pain to does that inhibit the trade. Do you believe the trade gets done in the next ten days gets done? Meaning it gets done him going to LA. Yes. I don't see that right now. I don't see it. I mean, if you look at their statement, you know, they're they're still on the league about looking into tampering charges. Right. And so. There's bad blood bad law. And I I was talking with you know, with somebody early in this in this before I got on a brought about brought up Gregg Popovich how he was not going to trade collide to the Lakers. And I said this is difference. I says a little bit deeper even in that. And so for that my set right now, I do not see a way what you're talking about ten days that the pelicans do a deal that will see an AD over to the Lakers. I just don't see that happen. And I don't know if the league is going to let that happen right now. It wouldn't look good. Why wouldn't they do it? It wouldn't look good. Because look, obviously the league is investigating right now, those charges, I know they they reached out to hampering chapters hampered. So I know they reached out to report yesterday the interview him. And so this is something a league is not a and and it's funny because players I get the point of it players have always for years talked about plan with other guys. Sure, it's never been an issue before. But now all of a sudden is become an issue now players aren't allowed to do usually as just coaches and management. But now it's an issue when it evolves LeBron and potentially another superstar going over there. So this is this is for Lyles reasons alone caller, I just don't see that deal getting done right now. Are we sure that Anthony Davis and LeBron will click I've seen LeBron with big girl. What you had to side seen it. I've heard and. He they become stretch fours hill, and they've he frustrates the you-know-what outta big. He always works with shooters. Yes. That's why I've always said gimme, Bradley Beal. He'd be great with Bradley Beal who I think's totally underwrite in this league. Are we sure it's gonna work with AB? I I will say this. I heard you mention Kevin love and Chris boss before those guys are not on eighties level column. I will say that and a dis twenty-five if Anthony Davis came over to the Lakers, if they found a way to make it happen. Lebron would pass the keys to Anthony Davis, blah, bra will play second fiddle to at the debut right day one. He has an established himself in LA. Yeah. Understand understand. But I believe LeBron would hand over the keys if not by day one at some point during the season similar to what way with Brian. Okay. Can let's address the kyri Irving rumors that he would join LeBron you've talked to kyri through the years. You have you know, him what's up with that? Look, look, I'm not I'm not ready to put something out like that saying that he he would join LeBron in LA. But I was towing a report that you know, for Yahoo yesterday that one of the reasons why anti-daewoo doesn't have Celtics as a high preference is because there are rumors circulating that is may not be a done deal with kyri resigning back in Boston. And I'm not saying Kyrie's not gonna do that. We know he vowed to do so before the season, right? But those are those are some of the things the factors as weighing in at the Davis's decision making process when he's trying to think about where's his next destination. And so that's just. Where that's just were his mindset is right now. And so on I don't know. But I know I know the New York Knicks the Los Angeles Lakers, they're going to be knocking on his door day one. Kyrie Irving at is trying to lure him away from the Boston Celtics Woche agai, we both know reported that Klay Thompson if Anthony Davis came to the Lakers Klay Thompson would be willing to consider the Lakers. What do we know on that who another guy? I like a lot of two way player not a huge ego. I think he could easily move into a Laker LeBron situation and not have to be the guy as dad Michael Thompsons, wildly popular in LA. If go to state doesn't present that max offer sheet to clay with or without a d the Lakers will be an option. That's that's that's the simple fact of the matter. Right. He's not taking a discount and Golden State. I don't I don't say Claes take like Klay in Katie their deal should be done right on July one throat Amax atom. That's it. If you wanna play with India does too. That's where I think go to stay can get in trouble and they can afford to. They couldn't afford a plate game right now. Trying to go into that brand new say center that's opening up next season. In San Francisco. They want that whole team in Tak for ticket sales in the ticket price hikes. That's going to be emplaced. So they can't afford a mess around. I have always been because I've moved in my career, and I'd be a hypocrite. If I wasn't pro player, I've always been for Kevin Durant. Lebron moving I've moved in my career. I think and I can broadcast for thirty years. They can play for twelve gentlemen. And I think it's a new millennial thing. I was saying this earlier millennials twenty three to thirty eight they joined forces in a you three best schoolers went to do. This is the new world we live in it. I have no problem with Anthony Davis, San listen, New Orleans is a NFL city and not an NBA city. You talked to these players. I never had a problem with K D. Lebron denied didn't think way gona. Chicago was smart didn't have a problem with it. I just thought staying Miami aqua water. Pat riley. But when you talk to these players, what did I make the movement stuff? A lot of them. You know, some some players feel like Daza stacked against them. But for the most part, you know, players is won't, you know, the free in the move in play wherever they wanna play, and I will say this. And I think the reason for that, you know, a fall in that camp thirty seven off on that Molyneaux category. I think the reason why players are stacking up and they're not doing it for early in their career doing as later as progressive. They owned that a championship. It was that they see how much criticism anonymous players great players when you talk about Patrick Ewing. Charles barkley. Call Malone tied stock to know, but those are some of the greatest players to ever play this game basketball. But what we noted for we noted for coming up short. We noticed from not having a title. So their legacy is forever stain and that's not that's unfair. And so a lot of these players are looking at that and say hold on. I can't just be great 'cause my legacy especially in the social media day YouTube and all this stuff like I would be ripped the strands. We'll my. Career is over with with highlights and clips some meat never, you know, winning the whole thing. So I think that's why it's a lot of pressure on these guys to make sure especially when it gets a lot of part of their career that they do least give themselves a chance to get a championship change. Yahoo sports. Here's where you, and I are going to disagree is that if I wanted a piece of ocean front property, I'm not giving you all the rest of my properties to get it, even though I love it. Everything's got value, Tom. I you know, what what was it, Jay z? That said, I'm not a businessman. I'm a businessman. Okay. The Lakers draft Kyle. Kuzma, they draft. Lonzo they draft, Josh heart. They develop them. They coach them. Okay. They put a lot of time in this. I'ma give you everything for AD. Because by the way, I still if I have AD LeBron shooters I wanna keep Josh heart. I may have to trade Lonzo four months later to get another shooter. I saw when mellow they traded everything in New York for mellow and mellow sat. There's a big chandelier and said there's nowhere to sleep. I got no power to got no furniture. I don't buy this give everything for a d-. Well, okay. I give everything it klew Kareem includes. Roll malla. They're like this this this is this is a look they wouldn't they wouldn't have went after LeBron James if they weren't committed to get and bring an champs team like instantly ASEP this small will you have. And so we talking about Josh how I love Josh heart, but you can find a lot of spot up shooters like real gritty defendant type players out there to supplement that. So I think you've got an I think they gotta do all they can to bring on board and get the show Rockin ace app or Nursia create momentum recreate it and once you once you do just like with New York, they're going to do a similar thing. They're going they're going after Anthony Davis. And if you think if you think of New York AD, y'all think Kimbe is going to look over there. You don't think Kyrie's look over there? You know, there's and so all of a sudden New York becomes a force. And so that's why you gotta go. Now, go of getting his good collar. So you Chris you don't believe it'll happen by the trading deadline. Your your belief is the NBA is not gonna make the. They'd like to put the brakes on this a little by the way, they already pump the brakes wouldn't let Chris Paul to the Lakers go, I mean, people in L A gimme very sensitive know New Orleans thinks nobody likes them L A. Add Chris Paul he had gone plan for the clippers. You're not going to let us have Anthony day. I I don't I don't think necessarily it'll be all on the NBA preventing this. But I do think that the pelicans just for their own safe keeping businesswise their best probably to do business over the summer win. Boston is able to join off from the kids. I is. Yeah. But here's what here's what I've until pelicans are ticked off. And and they're gonna make the Lakers feel some pain. But if I'm magic and rob Pelinka I'll on Boston. I don't wanna go ask that for asks. Why I'm saying collar liquors guy throw everything out right now where where where are you going to sit on the couch not gonna couch it you figure out later? I had a good the goodwill. You can find a lot of stuff to goodwill. You bring also supplemental players some Lee you can. Hey at the time you can find LeBron has made a career out of bringing out the best of marginalized players. They can do it again. So you'd be the GM you just get the you'd you'd overpay for the Jag in the driveway. Then you go to good-will. Yes. Great senior buddy twice. Call Chris Haines? Yahoo. Sports stuff joy, tan of the news. This is the headline news people walking by the house. Don't see the couch from goodwill. This guy. There is a lot of good stuff at goodwill. I will acknowledge that. Yeah. All right. So that's expected Conor McGregor is punishment for his role in the UFC two Twenty-nine post fight brawl was not as severe as beads Connor Connor settlement with the Nevada. Athletic Commission is a fifty thousand dollar finest six months spent fifty thousand six months Habib received a five hundred thousand dollars Laurie nine months, but you know, what he jumped into the crowd. He didn't start. You can't do that stuff. It can be reduced to six months if he doesn't anti bullying PSA, if he does this PSA though, both at the same band, which is a retroactive ban to the night to over six when it happened making them eligible to compete on April six so it's not really a little bit like the malice in the palace. I didn't think it was the players fault. But the NBA said, hey, you can't go into the crowd. Right. You can't go after our customers. We just can't have. I have no problem with the. I mean, I do think the Conor McGregor. Fine should have been a little bit more seals light compared to five hundred thousand. But if a beep did start it, but I have no problem with that really any amount. What they're basically saying is if our guys are brutal to other guys are at least, we control it. Right. Don't go after our customers. I had a huge problem with this from the beginning. It's not it's not ok people. And I don't know how this gonna sounds people. But this is supposed to be an art, right, right? It's it's martial arts. This is not just a brawl in the street that we're all going to some unsanctioned fire art people pay money to go and watch this sporting events not to get attacked in the crowd. And I don't care if they were going after the guys it could've it could've gone so much worse than it did. That was crazy. It's it's so unacceptable. It really is. It's like someone could have gotten really. Oh, lord. It's it's crazy. All right. So the play patriots are playing the nobody respects us card, and it's it's probably little fair considering the criticism that they've gotten this year. Everyone was talking about how on patriot. Like they were. Yeah, we may have had some discussions about their skill players that they took personally and gronk says he does not take it to hearts, and he uses it as fuel for jokes to lighten the mood in the locker room. He said, we know that there's been a lot said about this year said about us this year, but we've been bracing it, and I would say a little bit more than usual. But we're not letting it distract us. We're just bracing it and taking in bringing out good energy. We're doing it all for laughs. And fun seem like they're having fun. They have this this this air from media day at like as if nothing that's negative concerned about them can infiltrate. They're they're they're good armor both kids were having. Yeah. That'd be luck. I mean, how many times have they been there? This is not new to them. Brady's like forty one year old guy looking to these kids kids, the kids, I think it might actually been that kid asked Brady about the haters and how he handles the haters, and he says just hand them with love you don't give hate back. This all very, you know, nothing can nothing can bother us attitude. Finally, the Rams offseason. Splurge saw them Adam Marcus Peters, keep to leave and Donna can sue. And when Peters was asked about the team bringing in players with questionable reputations. He had an interesting comparison. He said what happened with the golden Golden State brought in all those people's with the difference between them bringing in guys and us bringing guys change of scenery is always good. Sometimes I guess it wasn't working Casey was time to move on. When you come into a great organization with a great head coach great owner and just the whole organization how everything's run so smoothly, you respect it. And you wanna be a part of their things kind of sounds like a shot at Kansas City a little bit. But they did move on from him. So felt like Kansas City. I mean, listen, we have an NFL an an NBA you can win both ways. Now, the NBA. Tends to be more star driven, but we had a dynasty with the Spurs which was very much like the patriot which was Duncan in the system did still have talents. Whether you are polarizing players. They were very talented New England New England has better talented any of us want to admit we make it out to be Brady and everybody else, but let's just focus on the system right there. And they are they are notorious for not over paying players. That's right. That's not situation with the Rams not that they're saying they're overpaying, but they are paying and they're bringing in various characters. So I I mean, we talked about it before players at the support this ram style. Because the NFL's a copycat league guys wanna get paid. This is the way to go. So I'm imagining player's gonna be rooting for that outcome this weekend. Georgia news. Well, that's the news and thanks for stopping by heard lie, by the way, CBS sports came out with a list of the twelve best. Players in the Super Bowl. Actually, it was longer than that. Do you think James white and Julian Edelman will play a bigger part than Dominic and soon the Super Bowl, call me nutty? I do I don't know. I think New England personnel. I got burned on this. I think here's the difference. New England roster is mostly B minus BNB plus guys the Rams have more as but they also have more sees. And so there are some things the Rams don't do. Well, I think their linebacking core. Is pedestrian and I think the Rams secondary is way hit and miss. I think the New England secondary it rarely gets caught in the wrong coverage or in the wrong spot. I think the Rams are all over the joint. They make great plays. They make terrible plays. Sometimes they bite on stuff. They're out of place on more than more than New England. So I I think the difference is New England's got a roster of bees the Rams have more as but also more sees, but we know key to beating Brady in big gains is getting him off his spots. That's the consumer has a huge game. He that he's right where he should be on that list because that's gonna play an instrumental part in the Rams winning if that happens. Yeah. I think I would put Aaron Donald number one. I would put Brady ni- put Brady one and Aaron Donald too. So I disagree. The list to start. I'd go Brady one Donald aeronautical to let stuff. I mean. Todd Gurley is incredibly talented. It's just the lighting scene of Todd Gurley. Wasn't great. So that's probably a lingering. I think Robert Wood is underrated for the Rams. I think he can block. He can catch. A he's good after the cat. She's good before the catch. He's got sure hands. He runs good routes. I think Troy Aikman said a couple of weeks ago is one of the best receivers in the league. And everybody said what I watch every Robert which snap in college. I didn't watch all his buffalo stuff. But I watched them in L A. He's really good. He not Julio Joan Antonio Brown. Rob ROY is really good. So ballots action. Probably completely take him out of this. Well, I thought about that. I mean, that's the guy. I would take. That's the guy would take out. All right. Coming up next is could be my favorite segment of the day. I am no millennial. In my fifties. So I've watched Super Bowls dating back to the early nineteen seventies. And for a lot of different reasons I like Super Bowls. I'll give you my five favorite each one. There's a different reason why it was my favorite Super Bowl. And I think this has the potential to be one for reasons. Will figure out pretty soon. My favorite Super Bowls ever. There's five dating back to the early seventies. That's coming up in best for last be sure to catch live additions of the heard weekdays at noon eastern, nine AM Pacific on Fox Sports radio affects one and the iheartradio app. We have a stack show tomorrow saquon Barkley of the giants who doesn't think I like him. But I do juju Smith Schuster who knows? I like him Danny amendola. Former patriot really thinks I don't like him. Yeah. I've Denny Madala. Somebody told me this once I didn't see it called me out on Twitter Barkley, and I think he like it. Well, because I said I wouldn't have picked a running back like the number two pick out a pig. Sam darnold, but I but I said he's gonna be a good NBA NFL player. You know, it is the way today if you don't love a guy you hate him. It's like nobody wants any nuance or context. I know I said if I was the New York Giants I'd pick a quarterback because I don't think the quarterbacks this year in the NFL are nearly as good as last year. I I rely on my scouts and my scouts have told me. None of these guys are as good as Baker darnold. Josh allen. Josh Rosen and Lamar they don't think they are. So I would have. And then you're gonna have the same problem the following year. So when you have a great quarterback draft, and you need to quarterback draft a quarterback don't think the room but saquon good player so tomorrow, I got guys like me on the show giving very controversial. All right. Our best for last. I'm now in my fifties. So I've watched every Super Bowl since the early early seventies. And you know, people will make lists of the best Super Bowls of all time. But that doesn't necessarily mean the best Super Bowls. I remember of all the super bowl's I've watched and we're going on about thirty five here. There are five for different reasons that stand out to me, so these are my most memorable Super Bowls. I'll start with one. In one thousand nine hundred seventy three Miami Dolphins were seventeen to know. I was seven years old to first of all I watch black and white TV in my room in grail in Washington. And it was memorable. Because I thought they were my Washington Redskins. I lived in Washington state when I was a seven year old. They used dry by the state capital in the back seat of my mom and dad's car, and I look at the capitol Washington, you see it right there on the TV. And I thought oh, that's Washington DC. It was Olympia Washington. I didn't know I was like seven and hadn't majored in political science at seven years old yet so I- Washington Redskins for my favorite team. They were getting dominated late in the game. Fourteen. Nothing Yaro your premium was a kicker for Miami other. We're trying to sewed up kick not block instead of falling on it. He got up and threw the ball weirdly and Mike bass picked it off went for touchdown. It was fourteen seven Miami. Dominated the game. Eventually won the game. They had mercury Morris. Larry czanka. Bob, greasy who I think through eleven times it's the lowest scoring Super Bowl of all time. That's the first great memory. I have of a Super Bowl nineteen Seventy-three. The next one that I really really remember is the last Super Bowl of my childhood Terry branch on the Steelers were dynasty. They came. Out to the Rose Bowl. And they played the LA Rams. And it was everybody thought it was going to be a complete nutter mismatch Bradshaw. Had one three the last five Super Bowls. They were my they were the first dynasty of my childhood. Terry was Lynn Swann Joel stallworth, the steel curtain defense of Franco, Harris. Rocky Bleier and Bradshaw did not play well early. He had three picks. But then late in the fourth quarter big drive big past John stallworth? He eventually was named the MVP the game. It was nine thousand nine hundred eighty it was Super Bowl fourteen. That's the second Super Bowl that really stands out to me in my life. The end of the first NFL dynasty of my life. That you got the dolphins in the Steelers. I I go the third one. I remember is the first Super Bowl I bet at Ellis Island casino in Las Vegas. I was broken at six hundred dollars and the New York Giants Super Bowl twenty five in the early eighties. Bill Parcells this is by the way, the. Only Super Bowl decided on a missed field goal. Scott Norwood a buffalo. And if you remember what happened the Steeler, he was very low scoring the Gulf war was going on. We had a goal for Whitney Houston saying the anthem at halftime. They had a musical act and the whoever add whatever network like ABC went back to Gulf war live coverage. We had the with the there was real security concerns here. There may have been the beginning of the stealth fighters. We had we had security all over the place to let Whitney Houston was there. And Jim Kelly got the ball deepen his territory, drove down Scott Norwood mystic. That was the first of all I ever bet. I was broken-bat six hundred dollars. And that was a lot of money. It's a lot of money now. But it was a lot of money. The craziest Super Bowl this one sticks out to me Arizona Cardinals. And the Pittsburgh Steelers. Don't Pittsburgh that year was not a dominating team. Mike Tomlin was in his mid thirties. Pittsburgh was like it was a lower c-. They were like nine and seven they were not a dominating team and they faced Arizona. And Pittsburgh dominated the game. Remember right before halftime Steelers lead like ten seven as at nutty play right before halftime, James Harrison picked it up and all of a sudden Arizona's in big trouble. This was a massive play. And they go down and lead seventeen seven at halftime. But then Arizona had a wild fourth quarter. Kurt Warner who was an older quarterback late thirties had emerged as a top quarterback in the league, let them down. And then all of a sudden Big Ben got the ball not much time left. Brought him down made the greatest throw maybe in Super Bowl history to San Antonio home. They had to go to like a replay. The I still don't know if you've got his feed in I still don't know. That was the craziest Super Bowl had been plays in at a major comeback at the best throw. I ever remember in the Super Bowl and that was Super Bowl forty three. That was in Tampa, Raymond James stadium. Steelers comeback had the lead lost the lead comeback to be Arezzo. And Kurt Warner and the hardest Super Bowl this is number five. Five was Russell Wilson in the Seahawks against the New England Patriots. And the reason it was hard because my sister never liked sports. And I love sports and she suddenly Seattle got red hot with Russell Wilson. And my sister love Russell Wilson. And my sister for the first time in her life like sports. And so I was like it was really cool that my family who didn't like sports, and my sister who didn't like sports would send me pictures of watching the game, and she'd be sending me tax and freaking out about games. And I was like, oh, it'd be great if Seattle won. But I lived in Connecticut, and it kinda fallen in strong like with Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the patriots. This to me was the hardest memorable. I can remember. I also remember in this game. New Seattle took a lead and Brady at an incredible fourth against the Seattle defense. And then Seattle came back and Russell Wilson made his incredible throughout the sideline which led to the marshawn Lynch interception should have given it to him at the goal line. They throw it. The big interception by the patriots. When I remember is the wild throw by Russell Wilson down the sideline to get him in that territory. New England had the game apparently one. And then they almost lost it and Richard Sherman freaked out because Seattle through it instead of running it. And that was the hardest Super Bowl for me to watch. Because the the most emotional I really didn't care who won the part of me wanted Seattle part of me love Brady and Bella check. And so those are my five greatest Super Bowl memories. I know a lot of people think about the catch with David Tyree and the Atlanta overtime Super Bowl and the John Elway Super Bowl and the Brett farve Super Bowl. What's this matter of preference? Those are the Super Bowls that mattered most. Most to me. I would have put the David Tyree catch one in there. It was crazy. I have never that was in Phoenix. Right. That was Glendale. I have never rooted harder for team. I didn't traditionally care about than the giants in that. I did not want the patriots to go into feed it. Oh because you were finally the dolphins have every year like at least that one that was a big very important so freely that's a hugely memorable. And it's kind of the same thing now because I don't want the patriots to get six Lombardi's the Steelers have that. Oh, wow. That is I like that little behind the curtain somebody. They may have out there. You didn't want him to display your dolphins. And you don't want him to display your. Feelers? Yeah. The first dynasty. I've ever grew up with. 'cause I didn't I didn't have I didn't grow up with John wooden dynasty UCLA. And I didn't grow up with the Celtics and Bill Russell. So the first dynasty that. I remember in my life was the Pittsburgh Steelers. And I've said this before to Terry Bradshaw when I was a little kid. I through the football with my index finger on the point of the football because Terry Bradshaw did now I couldn't throw it like, Terry. And it probably didn't help my development. I was never a very good high school quarterback. But they were the first he they were on television every week, and they were just then it was about an eight year period. Tomorrow saquon Barkley, juju Smith Schuster, and Danny amendola on our show has been good stuff. Speak for yourself around the corner. Most serial killers don't make any effort to involve media or best Gators. They're very secretive. They don't wanna tension. They almost want their crimes to go unnoticed, but the idea of committing a crime, and then calling the police and bragging about it. That's a whole 'nother level of terror. A man who wore a mediaeval style executioner's hood. Police in baffled the media. He seems to crave publicity. He sent letters and cryptograms to newspapers and police subject stated, I want to report a murder. No, a double murder. I did it. Here. We are fifty years to the first sodium killing in today's world of friends, the old cases are being solved who doesn't wanna know how it turns out from the creators of Atlanta monster come season two.
