"After a man who came in and won a championship league within 15 months and he has also been given nearly a billion pounds worth of transfers and everything from the outside world looks at that and says, why aren't you being successful? But the reality of sports is that it is not as simple as that. And the people that make it look that simple are great for a reason. What toolkit did was incredible at Chelsea. So he doesn't get enough credit for that. And Potter also doesn't get enough grace for maybe it's just harder than it made it look. You know, in your experience, it's a remote where a squad, they just know the manager and they just kind of have a sense of him. And even if he's a good manager, possibly somewhere else, they just know this gents not going to be a culture fit in this place in this time. Yeah, and if you get to that point, that's a tough point to be because you're not really getting that back. Like he really as a manager as a coach, you get that one shot right at the beginning to show this is what I do. This is my knowledge base. This is why we're going to be successful. This is the level of discipline I need. And you have that beginning era to implement your first impression. And if guys aren't brought in at the beginning, it is extremely hard to get them to buy in midway through because they're already starting to question things. So unless you have some grand plan to get everybody back on board, it is tough to lose them if you lost the first impression. Fan question from a GFP Rafi kugler, who has more job security in your opinion. An NFL head coach or a Premier League manager. I would say it depends on who your owner is, but lately it's gotten closer and closer. That is one thing that has always blown my mind about the Premier League that the NFL has gone towards much more recently. The Premier League guy was always blown away, especially watching Abramovich. I mean, you fire through a manager every 6, 12 months. And in my head, thinking through football, when a football coach is fired in American football coaches fired, there are training staff, nutrition staff, weight and staffs that change, and sometimes the facilities change. So everything changes. And that's expensive. So when I watch them doing it over there in the premiere, I was like, how are they doing this from a financial standpoint every few months? But then I realized it is a little bit more logistically easy to switch out a manager in soccer. But now over here, we're firing coaches after one year. We're giving guys two years max in if they're not good, they're out. I do feel like there are a lot of things from Europe that come over to America. I mean, I've seen the NBA talking about the idea of an in season tournament, similar to the Champions League or the F 8 cup. I've seen them talking much more heavily about academy as the way that the Premier League and everybody does academy. So it's fascinating to watch a similarities between European soccer and American sport. We've got a quickly touch upon poor Christian Pulisic, the best men's player, this nation's ever produced. Somewhat a forgotten man now in that Chelsea Depp chart somewhere, almost certainly going to be sold last transfer window, but then with injured, cruelly right before lots of rumors about possible new destinations in the summer. It's a wonderful thing as an American football fan to have one of our gents in the Premier League team that we support, but part of loving someone is a sting tortoise years ago, letting them go free. What would you like to happen to Christian JJ? What would you like to see him do? I want to see him get consistent playing time. Part of being an athlete is being in a rhythm. It's being in that flow state. It's being in that ability to just let it all play and let your body take over. That's what you've done your whole life and the more you play, the better you get in that flow state and the more comfortable you get and the more free you play. When you're only playing 30 minutes, 60 minutes, every couple of weeks, that now becomes the most important 60 minutes and you're trying to do so much in that time to prove you get more 60 minutes. And then you aren't this free and aren't as loose as you should be. So I want to see him back to playing a lot of football. I want to see him feeling comfortable and confident again. I don't want to see him, you know, just sitting on the bench struggling to be at Chelsea because it's Chelsea. I'd rather see him play somewhere else and be successful. There's a poor words in JJ's mouth, but he says he's saying Everton politic is flu state politic and I love it. Does he fit the daif scheme? The scheme, you guys are running up there. JJ, honestly, you fit the Sean dyche mold more than any other human being. I think you are the big man, but Sean dyche has been dreaming of. I'll be Diego Costa. Obviously Diego Costa forever ten. I'll come in and I will just beat the shit out of everybody, Raj. I'll just knock everybody around. By the way, I love how you're joking. I am so I've rarely been more deadly serious about anything. I'm like, bite your own off to have JJ wat BP in the shit out of people. That is a frankly that's honestly not Everton's problem. It's the actual football, which is Everton's problem, but JJ, you've been on terrible teams. What advice do you have? Well, for me. As a fan, I don't know the advice. As a player, I can tell you what you should do as a fan. It is tough. I mean, it is tough to look at your team and to be able to say,

"You just articulate for new viewers. What role does football soccer Premier League soccer in particular play in the JJ watt life, especially now you retired? Oh, it's massive. And like I told you last time, it started with fee fund playing with Ivory Coast and then I followed with a Chelsea and then I became a Chelsea fan. The Premier League overall has taken on a massive role in my life. I mean, I'm sitting down tomorrow morning to watch the primarily slate. I'm watching championship games that I'm loving it and I'm looking at it at a much deeper level and I'm looking at it from a level of involvement that I dreamed about in the past, but is becoming closer to reality is too. You are now deeply obsessed. There is no doubt about it. You dropped a lovely tweet last month when you were trying to watch multiple games, including one in the championship. I think it was how this feel versus Burnley. And you comment was NFL fans from overseas who try to stream our games, I understand your struggle, explain to us what was happening here so we can gain a sense of the what matchday experience the heart of the struggle. So I have a room with a few TVs in it that I like to sit there for Premier League days. For one reason or another, I wasn't allowed in that room on that day. So I was in my main I was in the main room of the house. And we had, I wanted to put up a certain game. And so I just logging on my iPad, and I was trying to get it beamed up to the TV, but then the TV wasn't having it. And then at the end of it all, when I finally got it up there, it only showed up on like a tiny little part of the screen, so I was still watching on a small screen, and then my iPad battery died. So it all went to zero, so I had nothing. JJ watt having every day human being problems, we have all been there. But let's talk about the Premier League. Because last time we were on, we talked about your deep affection for Chelsea football club and JJ. I don't like to bring up old hot takes. That is not my style. But let's just say you had a lot of faith in Thomas Tuchel. Last time you came on, you boldly predicted that Chelsea would be competing for the title in one year's time. It is not gone so well. I have faith in two. I still have faith in tuple. That's the problem. It's the problem. That's the problem. Everybody does. There's one person that didn't. And that's the problem. What has happened since and how do you understand it? This is delicate situation roger. This is delicate to discuss. Because I'm very interested in soccer ownership. I'm going to say that at the beginning of this just because I've been looking at opportunities and different things and I've spoken publicly about it for a long time. I'm very interested in it. So am I speaking to a man that who's current dream is to have 50,000 people in a stadium chanting, what out? What out? Out of my glove. Exactly. I'm foreshadowing to that at some point in my life. And you're going to flash back to this interview and be like, he would look at him talk crap about these other owners and he couldn't even do it himself. But I will say, I think if I look at that situation, I'm objectively looking at it. Let's say as a Chelsea fan. You're looking at a guy coming in from overseas. You have a club that's been very successful. You had the owner had to leave, obviously, for a reason. You know, out of the club's control. And that owner had a certain way of doing things for a very long time, but he put people in place at the highest levels of the game. Tuch was one of the best managers, Petter check, Marina. I mean, the system in place was working very well. So somebody comes in and removes that manager, removes that director, removes that scouting department. That's not a job that you just feel with nobody, and you say you're going to do it yourself. Like if I come over there and I'm an owner of a Premier League team, I know for a fact that I am not the best person to be deciding on transfers and to be deciding on sporting direction. You have to put the right person in place and I think that that's kind of where it got awry was somebody without the proper knowledge thinking that they had. Cherry Jones makes it look so easy to do all the jobs. It's not so easy. And by the way, people who are listening to this are already trying to get to the end of the big reveal, and I'll just say it now, yes, JJ what I are both buying Everton together, but we're getting to that. They're going to be a lot cheaper in about 6 months watch. Don't do me like that, JJ, what? Don't think that darkness into my house. Let me at least. Are we getting into that at some point? I mean, you guys are going to have the most beautiful stadium in the championship. It's going to be incredible. JJ, what? The one thing I know about is you've sat more quarterbacks than most human beings and you can recognize that depreciating asset when you see one. But back to Chelsea for a second, I'll talk about evidence with it. I want you advice. I got to tell you. Last January, all these shiny new players arriving, you know, Enzo, 140 million mudrik, 106 million, how Felix and arrest. Did it feel like NFL Draft day where the team you played on had all the first round picks? So it feels good in a sense that your club is purchasing players and there's that ambition there to be great. I will say that it also didn't feel great from a standpoint that it almost felt like we didn't know our own team because you're bringing in so many new players and you don't know any of them and that identity is kind of gone. Whereas you come up with teams and there's guys that are through lines. I mean, as people look at through line content, like there's guys that you know when you love and it feels like when there's a brand new squad, the connection is lost. And I don't like when the connection is lost. Now that Chelsea scored is now bigger than the Cardinals roster and that includes the cards practice squad and you've been on a lot of teams JJ, you understand chemistry from the inside. You understand also chaos. When you look at this Chelsea squad, do you see like a process that order and one that does it feel like a Star Wars cantina that's always going to be just dimly lit, strong drinks, random outbreaks of violence. I don't know of anybody sees like, I mean, the first wave of signings was like $500 million of defenders. And yet Thiago Silva is still like our best guy back there. You know what I mean? We got like a 38 year old just running shot back there. Obviously we got Reese who's incredible and you love having respect there. But no, I to your point. I don't fully see the vision of, okay, where is this going? So poor Graham Potter and you've played for many coaches in your time in the NFL. What do you see when you watch him? I see a guy in an extremely tough position. I mean, he's been handed the keys to one of the best organizations in the world.

"What the Celtics phenyl down, what the Cavs found out. And what you have to sit here and think, I mean, what is Jason Kidd raise his hand until Cuban? I got this. You're all time great point guard at all time, great point guard. I got this. And Cubans like, I got it. Go for it. I don't know. I guess if somebody had walked into the Shark Tank with this resume, he probably would be out. He'd be out. You'd think so. Damon, you take it. Right. You know? He'd be out. He'd be out if anybody walked in with this resume, selling their business saying, I want a piece of your money, he'd say, I'm out. Just like the nets just did, just like the Celtics did and just like who I think the Cavs are thankful he did to them. And again, I just reiterate, I don't know him personally, but I am so, in my personal life, anybody with a bad energy, and he might have great energy around certain other people too. He might turn on the charm around other people. But take your flat earth, Twitter, tweeting, and all that's a get out. Go to Dallas, sell it there, and I will be watching him and Lucca to see how it all plays out in a way that I'm rubbernecking. When you're slowing down on the side of the road to see something, what's going on there that everybody's looking at. I'm interested in that. But good for the nets. I think they will be better off without it and hopefully Kyrie doesn't turn the Mavs situation into the same situation that happened in Brooklyn and Boston, but track record says otherwise, hour number two, iron eagle voiced the nets coming up with Jared Goff as well. I also just think from a basketball standpoint. How's it gonna work? 'cause Luca is so bald dominant in their offense of, you know, 20, 22 seconds of dribble dribble dribble, drive and shoot, or dribble, you know, find a guy in the corner, like it's Kyrie gonna play the shooting guard out of this TJ. It's just like, I don't know. Me, you took the words out of my mouth with the ball dominant thing. It's gonna be interesting to see, let's try to put a positive on it, because it's easy to look negative. You've got two guys who at the end of the game, you can look to take game winning shots, right? You can depend upon when the game's tight. A lot of teams don't have that at all. A lot of teams have guys who will under the pressure of having to take that last shot. So you know, now you've got two guys who you can count on to both attack the rim to run an offense through, but it's the guy though that when you hit the ball, it'll be Luca. And then if Luca gets doubled, you got Kyrie. In this day and age, it does make sense. You gotta, if you have one brilliant player, get a second. Because that's what you've seen Batman and Robbins or Batman and Batman's win this league quite a bit. But at some point, though, you just got to read the room as to whatever room has been like that this guy left. Yeah, can you count on him? I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. But Jason Kidd must have said, I've got him and Cuban must be like, let's get him. Let's see how it plays out. Hour two coming up.

"Look, I am over a certain age where I have stopped caring so much about people that have negative energy and a negative influence in my life. I just can't have it anymore. Susie and I are kind of lockstep on that. If you've got a negative energy, if you have something that rubs people the wrong way, doesn't matter how great you are at what you do, I don't have time for you. Don't care. I had no idea Larry King was thinking the same thing. But he was way older than me right now. From the grave. Please. Good lord. I don't know Kyrie Irving personally. I don't. Know him personally. I only know of him through his basketball play, which is brilliant. Brilliant. First ballot Hall of Fame generationally brilliant brilliant. I only know him based on what he says into a microphone. I do not know him behind the scenes. I do not know him personally. So clearly, all of what I'm about to say is based on how he handles his business, what he says when he's in front of a camera. And how he has left places in his business world. And he had a great thing going in Cleveland, something happened where he's like, I got to strike out on my own. I understand that. I get it. He goes to Boston. He tells Boston. I love you. I feel your love. I don't know anywhere. A couple of years later, he's gone, everyone can't wait to get rid of him. He returns to Boston and he's smudges, okay? Like he doesn't turn the page where I'm in a better spot in life, I'm going to show everybody there that you still stink. So I'm going to try and get the negative energies of this place out by smudging the arena before going there, making a show of it. As if he had nothing to do. With the reason why there was bad energy at all. Okay. Certainly since he's in a spot in Brooklyn, playing for a next team that he proclaims in a video announces arrival. That he loved him all the way back when he was a kid. Oh, 'cause he's from Brooklyn, right? No, no, no. He's from New Jersey where the nets used to play. And I got to tell you, I grew up in that area. I didn't know many nets fans at all. Certainly not like I can't wait to play for the nets when I grow up. Okay. Got it. We believe you, you're there and not only are you there, but they are building the world around you. They're going to go get you Kevin Durant. We're going to put the two of you together. In New York and you're going to be the ones that everyone wants to go see, and the Knicks are going to be second class citizens in their own town. Twice, he disappears. Once because he didn't want to get vaccinated at a time where that was the rules of the city, and another time, we don't know what the hell happened. And then this year, we all know he was suspended because of what he put on his Twitter feed the most viciously anti semitic trope filled piece of. Content that I still don't know if Amazon, you still have it up, what's your problem? And he comes back and he's brilliant again. He wants a new contract apparently the nets put stipulations on it for his money. He didn't like it. He announces I want to trade as his team is without Durant. Fourth in the conference because he's been so brilliant. He wants out and I don't blame the nets one bit for saying get out of here. This is now, I mean, you talk to a Cavs fan, they're not terribly happy that he left, but the vitriol is not anything close to the way Celtics fans feel about him and the way nets fans now feel about him. And there are more nets fans than ever before because of his brilliant play on Durant and so many others that are interested in this franchise. But I say to the next good for you, get out of here. Do not care how good you are. And he is great. He's been balling. Great. Great. Don't care. Give me a bag of balls back. And instead you get Dinwiddie, you get a nice haul. You got Dinwiddie back. You could make the case the net should never have gone away from what they were building to switch it all up and try and go big. You know, getting Finney Smith two, getting a one in two multiple twos that apparently to try to package in time for Thursday to have Durant when he comes back healthy with Simmons and the rest of the team go for it. Jacques Vaughn they got the right coach to it seems like go for it. I don't care anymore. How good he is. That's now three spots that he left, and it's not his fault. It's not in it's never it's never his fault.

"The next season. And those are the types of stresses and mental mental gymnastics that I was ready to be done with. I wanted to enjoy time with my son and my wife I want to go through life and know what it feels like to just kind of relax a little bit and if I miss a workout to play golf, then I miss a workout to play golf. And I don't have to worry, did I do the right thing today or did I hurt my chances of having a good season? So it just blows my mind that Brady did it till 45. When you're describing I've heard what you said before from other guys, but not first ballot Hall of Famers as much as what you just said, right? Insane that he did it till 45. Correct? That's why anybody who's ever played the game and all of us who know what it takes and know the grind and know the preparation and everything that he's had to do and the success he's had. We have nothing but the utmost respect for him and we have no problem whatsoever giving him his props as the goat because it is truly incredible what he's done for how long he's done and how special it is and not only to do it for that long, but to be the literal best at it and win more Super Bowl than any organization in history is incredible. Have you thought at any moment? You had a quiet moment feeding your son or summiting camelback or just behind the wheel of a car that it looks like you're going in the Hall of Fame with Tom Brady. JJ? I have a lot of myself when he retired, you know, to just at least think about the possibility of it for a moment and it would be obviously extremely cool. I mean, I consider him the grace of all time. I consider him a friend. I'm fortunate enough for that. And I'll be the first one to give him every ounce of respect and praise that he deserves if we are lucky enough to go in together. And again, I know when I say this sort of stuff to people of your caliber, not just player, but human. You don't want to sit and go, damn right, I'm a Hall of Famer. You are, and your first ballot won, but the watts and the Brady's hanging out in Ohio for a weekend. I mean, that's it, man. I appreciate it, man. Seriously. So I consider myself a part of one of the greatest draft classes of all time. I think our draft class was incredible. And there's so many great players that I'm honored to be a part of such a great class. And it would be pretty cool to have that opportunity to also maybe go into the hall with the best of all time. Amen. I remember that draft class because as we wrap up this conversation here, JJ, there was that Super Bowl in Indianapolis. It was Brady versus the Giants for a second time. You and Cam Newton were signing autographs for Marriott. I was there too. And you were just you were just fresh off your first year after dominating there for the Texans. And I just feel like if I had walked up to you and said, your career was going to be this and it's the one that we just talked about. What would you have said that day to me, man? You know what? You say that because I'm down here in Arizona right now and I train down here for the combine 12 years ago. And my wife is actually training today at Jim that I trained at for the combine. So I drove up there last week and took it out with her. And when I was training for the combine, my parents and I, we went and looked at houses just for fun because we were like, let's see what a $1 million house in Arizona looks like, how cool that would be. And now here I sit 12 years later, my wife is a professional athlete. I have our son on my lap and I am in Arizona in an incredible house and I'm very thankful for and it's a very surreal feeling and just like everybody says it feels like it went by in a blink of an eye, man. It was such a quick 12 years, but I'm so thankful for it. I'm so proud of it. And I've met so many incredible people and had so many experiences that I never in my life thought I would get to have. So I have nothing but gratitude and love. Healthy 33 year old too. I mean, you could do this for a living, the conversing about football is do you want to do this? Do you want to be in the paparazzi? What are you going to do? What are you thinking? I don't know, man. I don't know. I definitely want to stay around the game in some capacity. Not as a coach because the hours are crazy. I do think that there is a possibility of some sort of broadcasting or something if the opportunity is right. But the beauty of every situation is, if I don't, if something isn't right or I don't feel like it's the right situation for me, then I just don't do it or the golf course and have some drinks and hang out with my family, you know? Okay. So it's a great place for me to be in. I'm very lucky to be in this place at the age of 33. Hey, man. It goes without saying if you have any two cents you want about broadcasting, you got my number, and this is not the last time we'll talk, but please, you know that. I'd love to see you be successful. Whatever you want, you'd be great at this. There's no question about it. So I'll give you a parting shot one shot at it. You want to give me a prediction for Super Bowl 57? JJ want? Man, man, that's tough. I've never really done predictions in the past because you're clear. I'm interested, man. I think this is a tough game. I'm a D line guy. So I'm going to go with the line. I started this conversation talking about the D line. And I think that the eagles V line is one of the most impressive I've seen compiled in one room together. So I'll write with I'll ride with the eagles in this one. And see if they can pull it out. But dude, you know how hard it is to go against some homes and stuff in those guys. I know. It's so damn hard. This is what's so dumb. And this is one of the things about commentary and analysts that like you're going to go on, I'm going to go on to be at some point have to make a prediction like this and they put the little graphic at the bottom where you pick your win. And then on Monday, every single fan comes back. Look at you, idiot. Look at this moron. He had no idea. Yeah, I know no die. I had no idea. If I had an idea, guess what I would be. The win in Las Vegas is putting every dollar out of that. I got no food

"He's going to do a grimy. He's going to lead that offensive line. And he's going to give Jalen everything he needs. As a player, you have a lot of respect for a guy like that doing it for so long and that's such a high level. And then again, I know Travis, you said mahomes knows he's always going to get open. And I know your job is essentially to make sure mahomes is an upright to get it to Kelsey, but can you answer the question so many fans have is why is he open all the time? You know what I mean? Clearly, you're circling him in meetings. Clearly, the Jaguars knew that he's going to catch it and he catches it 14 times. So what do you got for me there? JJ. So when the last couple of weeks, obviously, I'm watching these games like a fan just like everybody else. Yeah. And you're watching the games and I mean, I'm a player. I've literally game planned against them. We've had double teams called against them and you have everything lined up. And you watch these games and mahomes is scrambling around and running around and they chucks it and all of a sudden the camera cuts to Kelsey who with nobody was in ten yards of him and me having been in those meetings. I'm still baffled like where is everyone? It's the connection that he has with mahomes to know exactly how mahomes is thinking and where he's going to scramble to and what he's looking for, but then it's also just this incredible innate feel for the game and he can have his head on a swivel at all times and know where the open space is, know what mahomes capabilities are and just getting that spot, but I mean, I'm not the only one. It feels like he is in a space 30 yards wide every time. It's every time I know and that's why I'm wondering because how this happens all the time and then I guess before we move on off the game for a second Hassan Reddick has become such a game record in Philadelphia. If I'm not mistaken, you overlapped with him in Arizona, correct? JJ? No, you never did. He was out right before I got here. Okay, so he has been absolutely killing it. So what do you think of him and Chris Jones and the pass rushers in this game and how they can affect the results, JJ? I made there. I think there's a ton of great pass rushers in this game. And I think it's for me as a defensive lineman, obviously it's going to be a blast to watch because I love I love watching those guys go to work and I think that the more dominant forces you have around you obviously the better your password situation is going to be because the offense has to account for everybody. So I mean Hassan is an unbelievable pass rusher in his own right and then you add the pieces around him that he's got the brand and grams and all these javon hargrave and these great pass rushers all around him. Now you've got to tell the offense. All right, where are you going to slide your center? Where are you going to step your back up into the hole? Are you going to keep a tight end or are you going to get a mile in the more one on ones that you create? Just look at last game. The San Francisco 49 didn't go into that game thinking, all right, we're going to leave this backup tight end one on one with the sun. But once you get out there and you start seeing all these guys and you have to make those mic points and you have to make those calls, you all of a sudden are like, well, I mean, technically, the rules at this place say the least backup tight end, one on one with the sun. So we do. And then he goes out there and he wrecks the game the way that he does. So it's a blast to watch. It's awesome and then Chris Jones and those guys on the other side and Frank Clark is obviously been doing great as well in the playoffs for them and so I enjoy watching it. I'm looking forward to seeing how difficult they might make these quarterbacks lives. JJ watt here on the rich eisen show taking a couple of minutes out of daddy day care or walking the tightrope calling into the show while actually providing such care right here on the rich eisen show. We haven't spoken yet since you've decided to retire. Can you just give me the main overarching reason why you decided to say this is enough? JJ? Yeah, I mean, I think it's, for me, it was much more the mental stress than it was even the physical stress. And that's to say, from an off season standpoint, when a season ends, I'm maybe a week off and then back in the training because as you get older, you have to put even more time with your training and taking care of your body because it's just natural that it breaks down at a higher rate. So every single day is a mental grind and trying to make sure that you're the most prepared trying to make sure that your recovery is the best. And even in January, February, you're already stressing about making sure you're prepared for

"Rich ozone show desk furnished by Granger and supplies and solutions for every industry. Granger is the right product for you, call, click, grant your dot com or just stop by. We're going to Phoenix. We're going to Scottsdale. We're going to Glendale. They would like to have this called the Arizona Super Bowl. I got that email this week. Please call the Arizona Superman. Not Phoenix. I mean, because there's people in Glendale. Look, it's their Super Bowl. So we're going and I said, let me get an all time great who lives there to call in to the show to get us started. And doing that right now is future Hall of Famer recent retiree in one of our favorites JJ watt kind enough to be the first guest of Super Bowl 57 week right here on the rich eisen show. Is that your kid right there? JJ? Yeah, rich. I got to give you a little caveat right out of the gate. Yes. Just finished feeding my son. Okay. So if you hear any burping or crying, there's a 50 50 shot on if it's near him. Okay. Can we guess when we hear it? Can we guess we're here and if it's you or KJ watt, correct? You'll definitely the burp will be you might not guess it. The crying you'll certainly know it's me. Fantastic. I love it. KJ watt, right? You're a little co James. Coach James watt. How's that going, man? You must love this, right? It's all good. It's the best, man. I love it. It is I mean, you know it and any parent knows that and you're trying to explain it to somebody. People used to try and explain it to me. And you just don't really get it until it happens to you and it's the greatest thing in the world. And I love it too. And by the way, I saw your tweets. I don't know if I was what I was more impressed by. The fact that you went and summited camelback with a weighted backpack or the fact that you took a few hours out of your day, you found that window that you could, I would love to do that. I'd love to have a few hours. I can't even play golf, let alone wait backpack and go climb a mountain, man. I don't know how I can. Good for you. Congrats. Yeah, I don't know if I'll be doing it again, but really enjoyed it first time. Fantastic. First time last time. First time. 46 minutes, for real? Well, I think that's my problem. So I'm kidding. I do think I'll do it again. Okay. But I'm a very prideful man. And I'm very big competitor. So we started. It was me and my buddy from back home, Doug. And we started and I'm not going to be a punk. So let people know and I'm like, all right, past that group. And then there's another group like a hundred feet ahead. And all right, let's pass them. So it just turned into this competition. And I forgot, I'm 285 pounds. And I also did not realize how far 1.5 miles directly up the mountain is. And it's humbling. It's very humbling, rich. Oh man, incredible. Well, JJ watt joined us here. You'll like this. We're like 5 minutes from the top. And the whole way you're like, it's right there. I'm getting so close. You're never close. And then I'm dying. I'm like, I said, stop. I need a break. So I take a break, hands on these and come in the other way down from the top. Is this wife and husband? And they have like a 6 year old and an 8 year old girl, like their daughters with them on their way down from the top. And that was the moment where I just said. Right. You are a real punk man. This is embarrassing. Well, you know what, JJ, this is where you just got to dig deep. You just got to suck it up. And you got to try again. You know what I mean? If you don't mind me saying, just got to try again. No, I will. When you get down here and we'll do it one morning. We'll do the show from the top. Summit, that would be great. Fantastic. JJ watt here on the rich eisen show Super Bowl week. All right, let's jump into it if you don't mind. You played against both of these teams. The two best that you faced this year do you think? JJ? I mean, they are very, very, they're very, very good teams. And they're extremely complete. I mean, obviously you have mahomes and Kelsey and everything that that offense brings, but you also got Chris Jones, Frank Clark, those guys on the defense. And then you've got the eagles who in my opinion have built one of the best defensive line rooms I've ever seen. I mean, you've got guys like Robert Quinn, a hundred sack guys coming off the bench, you've gotten dominant consume spelling guys. I've never seen a room with so many great dealignment in it. And then you've got an offense that can do so many different things with an old line that's very, very, very good. And the most dominant quarterback sneak game I've ever seen because this quarterback sneak better than anybody that's ever done it. So it's going to be a hell of a game. What's it like chasing down mahomes and hurts or being part of a defense that has to account for that part of their game? It's not that fun. It's not that fun. So there are different players, obviously. The one thing I've always said about pat in chasing him around is that it really does take all four guys and even then it's tough because you can't he's got such incredible arm strength that he can just keep backing up and keep backing up and then still make a 30 yard throw down the field. So even if you win your passwords clean, you can get away and scramble around and then chuck it wherever he wants to and he knows Kelsey is going to get open and then with hurt he's obviously an incredible passer, but he's an incredible runner in his own right. So if you give him any lane whatsoever, he's gone. He's going to make you pay for 2030 yards. So there are tough to track down. It takes everything and I mean the eagles obviously have an incredible defensive line that's going to have all those guys aimed right at mahomes, but it's going to be fascinating to watch. What makes lane Johnson so good. What do you got from either? I mean, guys so athletic. He's incredibly athletic for his size and the movements he can make and the strength that he has with it. And I mean, I know I've seen a lot of talk about it on the Internet lately, but he does get off that ball very quickly. Okay. You get to his position. Faster than anybody in the league gets to their position. Now, I'm detecting just a sense that a hair early, like is that what we would call it? The guy's an unbelievable player, huh? Yes. He is truly one of the best I played against. And that's the fact. And I have so much respect for him. And I am a big believer in if it's, if it's not called, that means that it's all right to do. Now, when I play against them, am I talking to the rest? Every single place, every single yes. As it worked, not once. If it's not being called, why wouldn't you do it? We are not trying exactly. And so also let's talk about the Kelsey's real quick because you just mentioned Travis before. But Jason, I am sure your level of respect for him is through the roof. You clearly know what it takes to do what you do in the trenches at such a high level for such a long time. He's incredible, man. And I'm wondering what you think of when you compete against him and watch him JJ watt. What do you think? About him. You know, he's a football player's football player, man. He is that old school like tape on his knuckles like round grinded out, but also very, very athletic. He can be a polling center. You can come around the edge. You can make blocks ten yards down the field. He's going to play hurt. He's going to do a grimy. He's going to lead that offensive line. And he's going to give Jalen everything he needs. As a player, you have a lot of respect for a guy like that doing it for so long and that's such

"Join Elway being below 500 with this game and most importantly if he wins it, he has two before turning 28, which he does in September. And this is the stuff you need to do if you want to catch Brady and if you're sitting here thinking, no one's ever going to catch him. This is what mahomes career is going to be about for the rest of his time. A 100%. And any kid that comes out of college and does what we've seen from mahomes, this is going to be their conversation about them, too. Period in the same way that we were talking about Brady in 2004 on NFL network after he went back to back, by the way, in his third career Super Bowl start like mahomes against the eagles. Same opponent in their third career Super Bowl starts. We were talking about that about Brady is like, oh my God, he's got three already. He's going to catch Montana. He's definitely going to catch Montana and Bradshaw is going to catch him. Ten more years it took till he finally matched them. And then got three more. It's so stupid when you talk about it. It's stupid. 7 is stupid. But that's what I'm saying is when Brady did it. Back in the day, NFL network just two years old. That's all we talked about is that Bradshaw and Montana were gonna get got and the only question is how much further will Brady go? He took a decade for them to for him to finally hit that fourth Super Bowl and match them. So what I'm saying is this is a new conversation we're having. Now that Brady's retired for good and his numbers are fixed, who can catch him. It's mahomes. Currently, mahomes in the AFC championship game. As we all know, through for 326 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions. In terms of all time playoff games with that stat line, there's only four guys who have done it four times like mahomes now. Rogers, Peyton Manning, and there's Brady at 7. Again, these are all numbers that Brady has now fixed. That's it. And mahomes has four now, Brady, 48 career playoff games, only 7 such games like this. Manning 27, he had 5 such games, Rogers has his four such 300 passing yards and no touchdown, playoff stat lines. He did it in 21 games. Mahomes has got four in 13. Games. These are numbers that he's going to every single stat that I have in my packet from the NFL network. About this Super Bowl, 60 pages long any stat about mahomes and what he can do in terms of matching this number or continuing on in that number or surpassing that number about the Super Bowl has the name Tom Brady either at the top or number two. I'm telling you, most career wins in a playoff career prior to the 28th birthday all time. Roethlisberger has 8 Brady has 9 mahomes in making this Super Bowl just broke the record ten. Brady and Roethlisberger prior to turning 28 though won the Super Bowl twice, mahomes has to win it this time to match those guys. He can do it. He's doing things that we hadn't seen in rare cases. And again, that we didn't see prior to Brady and have only seen in rare instances since Brady and mahomes is one of them. That's why this week is about him. The eagles, you are great. The eagles, you could very well win this game. Easily, right? You said Madden did a simulation? Yeah, the Madden people did a sim and the eagles won. Totally possible. And then if this conversation makes you irate in your eagle green blood is boiling over it, great. By the end of the week, we'll be spending the entire off season talk about your franchise's greatness and deservedly so and how great hurts is at a young age and how he could potentially run down Brady at some point. Absolutely. No question about it. But as of now, the one guy who can catch Brady in so many different ways or get in his orbit is Patrick Mahomes and here's the thing. He's got to win this week. He's got to win this week. He gets two. He's now separated, but if he loses and hurts, get it. Now mahomes has one. And her husband has one. And now burrow Herbert. Stafford? All these other guys, though. But the younger one behind. Right, that's it? Yeah. You can really create a distance. And then the conversation about is Brady ever going to get gone. He's not. The 7? I mean, Tom Brady's in the anomaly, right? So I feel like it's unfair to anyone to have the number 7 as that is the guess what? Four should still be because getting 7 is so outrageous. It is so unbelievable. There is no chance. I feel at least you can look at four and go, that's duke. 7? Come on. Unfortunately, rich house am I going to live up to that? As unfortunately, for every quarterback currently in the league and every quarterback currently in college for any kid currently sitting in a cradle somewhere for any kid who is a twinkle in their mother's eye right now. Who wants to play quarterback in the NFL? This is the new number. We're not used to it yet. We're just not. You're never going to be used to it. We're not. But every Super Bowl week, this is the conversation that's going to be had when there's a generationally brilliant player this age and this accomplished by this age with an opportunity to win a multiple Super Bowl. And guess what, if mahomes makes it again next year, you can go for three. What's the conversation going to be? This even louder. Yeah. Well, I don't know if he gets this. He's half almost halfway home. And the last one to win back to back Super Bowl since Brady, every

"Eisen show studio in Los Angeles. Before I let you go here, Chris, what's your first blush thought on this matchup? I think if you were the eagles, probably rather a place of angles. Really? The rich eisen show. Today's guests. Three time NFL defensive player of the year. JJ watt. CBS sports broadcaster iron eagle. Lions quarterback, Jared Goff. Two times Super Bowl winning head coach, Tom Coughlin, and now. It's your rich eyes. Yes. Yes, we have made it. It's Super Bowl week right here on the rich eisen show where live in Los Angeles, California. Today and tomorrow we're here in LA, home of last year's Super Bowl, but on Wednesday, this show will emanate from the Arizona Super Bowl at the Super Bowl experience and the convention center in downtown Phoenix. We are have got great guests lined up for those three shows, but we start today with a great guest list, including a two time Super Bowl champ, a Super Bowl quarterback for me. As a Los Angeles ramp, quarterback, we also have the man I and eagle who's calling the Super Bowl on the international feed. He called the AFC championship game for Westwood one. He's going to also call the next Brooklyn net game that doesn't have Kyrie Irving in it because he is the voice of the nets and Irving is now Dallas maverick will discuss that on this show today. Our first guest joining us in about 18 minutes time is a guy who's going to welcome us to the Super Bowl city in Phoenix slash Scottsdale slash Glendale. It's called the Arizona Super Bowl is the way they really want it called. JJ watt, the retiree of the moment, and he played against both the eagles and the chiefs and this just in their playing in the Super Bowl this week in Arizona. So we've

"When they're 23rd wind this year by ten or more points, most in the NBA, play of the day brought to you by the Mercedes Benz sprinter van unlock your potential. So you can do your own thing, be your own boss and live out your dreams capable and versatile, and Mercedes Benz sprinter van can help drive your ambitions as far as you want to take them. My thanks to JJ watts spending some time with us. He looked good. But ready for retirement. See, this is the thing about retirement. And being in this business long enough where I see somebody start their career and end their career. And you end your career and you might be 34, 35 years of age, so that career is over. You have to put that to rest. It's like that part of you is dead. It's over. Now what do you do? And as he said, well, I get to go play golf. Well, that's going to wear off. I see guys who are retired and I see them at the golf course or in the Clubhouse. And I go, how's retirement? It sucks. Because there's nothing to do. And JJ is a guy who's going to need things to do. Do you join a coaching staff? Do you do broadcasting? I could see him doing broadcasting. I don't know if he would want to do studio or do a game, but I could see him being involved in that. And maybe it's something where he does join a coaching staff. I think he'd be a great coach, but I don't know, you know, the hours that you put in, they're very similar, if not more hours than you do as a player. Now they're different, but you're still putting in that time. And he just had a baby boy. You know, I've been married for two years, less than two years. That's where you caution, I would caution these guys when they get out, now what are you doing? Yes, Richie. That's interesting. They give you a little peek behind the curtain. Sounds like he's going to be meeting with some network executive throughout the week since everybody's on one place for a possible broadcast. Well, I could see that. I mean, marquee name and he's good. He's got a good sense of humor. But I think you got to take some time off a little bit and just kind of let it come to you instead of going after it. Because guys who will jump in. That's why Brady is he going to jump into broadcasting. I don't know. I don't know if it's that simple, where you go. I'm going to do this. And now I'm going to do that. I think everything he's been through, you might want to take a little more time, but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Tom Brady ends up broadcasting football games. It's interesting to look back. I think it was 12 years ago we were in New Orleans. We had watt on the first time in person. He's a young guy. He was doing like axe hairspray. And that night he won NFL defensive player of the year for the first time. Now we have him just weeks after retirement. He's going through 5 or 6 knee surgeries. He can't remember three on the shoulder, but he's like two or three. I mean, he's a different person than he was. He was like, jumping out of the gym grabbing the rim, and now he's like, it's cold out here. I'm gonna go to the golf course. He's 34. Yeah, that's a transition that not now, but in 15 years from now when we see him. And I remember seeing neuro Campbell for the first time. And it was heartbreaking because he played with such passion and then I saw him really unable to walk. And that's where we love what you do for us right now, but then when you're gone, then somebody else comes in, it's plug and play where he's going to have to live with these injuries, obviously the rest of his life, and that transition is difficult as well. And it's difficult for everybody involved with your family and those Sundays in the fall. Guys talk about that. Your body is ready to play that, but he's not going to be able to. Yeah, I went upstairs, we had to go for some details for the christening as the godfather of his new baby boy. I may have to be back here in the valley pretty soon. Just like, you know, he didn't ask me, but I suggested to him because I talked to you about it later. And I think that's a good sign. Yeah. Pauly keeps saying that he and JJ are best friends. Work hybrid, like part time in Arizona, parts I'm in milford, how does that work? You know what? We want to hike. We want a golf, you know, the family. Well, he's not breastfeeding the kid. He just coming down for the baptism. I'm the fourth watt brother. I'm like Ringo. He's a good guy. You ready to take one brother? Imagine like the three watt brothers make the NFL. And they've got this one brother who's like 5 11, one 40, a place. Isn't there the bonus Jonas? Is there a fourth Jonas brother? Marvin, you would know that's in your, you like Bad Bunny and you're like the Jonas Brothers, don't you? I like Bad Bunny. I don't know about the Jonas Brothers. There's a bonus Jonas. Yeah, I think there's a bonus joke. So he didn't get into the music side of it. I don't know. I'm not sure. Again, what I learned today. By the way, did you see a Beyoncé last night at the Grammys? She got there late, so she didn't get the Grammy that I guess broke the record for being the most decorated musical artist of all time. She was in traffic and so she got there and then she got an award and she was not in a good mood. Not in a good mood. All right, one hour in the books. We did it. We got two more to go here in Scottsdale. I'm glad you're part of the program. We'll get phone calls coming out. Best and worst of the weekend. Sun's up, guns are out. One more item as we close out a festive hour one Mercedes Benz, the sprinter van is here. I haven't done a thorough inspection yet. Anything you would like to tell me, Stephen. It's phenomenal. I'll tell you that. It's a hell of a vehicle. It was an absolute joy to drive nearly coast to coast. Well, it's like when my kids would take the car out and they might go for a trip and then I'd come back and say anything I need to know. Well, we may have, there may be a little ding in the side of it. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, there might be, I'm calling it a ding. Okay. That's a character scar. It's what my wife calls that. Characters. Mercedes Benz sprinter van. We broke it in for you. We're going to give it away on Friday, give it away, give it away, give it away now. Thank you, Todd. "NFL week 18 roundup on Dave fairy. The eagles have rewarded themselves for a 14 and three season. Here's Michael the wongo. The eagles Clinton Division Championship and the number one seed in the NFC playoffs with the 22 16 win over the Giants Philadelphia touchdown run by Boston Scott and 5 field goals by Jake Elliott and his first game back with my shoulder injury quarterback Jalen hurts true for 229 yards for the birds who finished a regular season at 14 and three. We worked really hard to be where we are now. We've overcome a lot. We've been through a lot as a team and as individuals. Davis Webb, right for one touchdown through for another for the Giants. The Seahawks are playoff bound as Jim Bernard reports. First, the Seahawks did their part by outlasting the Los Angeles Rams in the 1916 overtime victory, then the Detroit Lions did theirs by beating the Green Bay Packers. Gino Smith overcame two Jalen Ramsey interceptions and passed for 213 yards and a touchdown while Kenneth walker rushed for 114 yards. The dolphins have extended their season. Denny cap has details. Three Jason Sanders field goals are all the dolphins need to squeak into the playoffs and beat the jets 11 to 6. Sanders kicked the game winner from 50 yards out with 18 seconds left, and a battle of third string quarterbacks it was rookie 7th round draft pick, Skylar Thompson, who did just enough to send his team to the postseason. Seeing a win and feeling a win is important and especially going into the playoffs. Going to buffalo, which is a very good football team. We're going to be confident. Thompson completed 20 to 31 for a 152 yards and no interceptions to help the dolphins snap a 5 game skid. The Bengals beat the ravens 27 16 to avoid a coin flip for home field when the two teams meet again in the AFC playoffs next weekend. Cincinnati scored touchdowns off three first half turnovers by quarterback Anthony Brown. Joe burrow was 25 of 42 for 215 yards one touchdown and no interceptions. If he didn't win this one, I guess technically we would have won the division, but wouldn't have felt like it. So it's good to get this one. We're going to have to play better next week to get the win. Especially me. The bills played inspired ball less than a week after teammate demar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest during a game. Gene battaglia reports. On a day filled with emotion, the Buffalo Bills won the regular season finale against New England Patriots, 35 to 23. Naim Heinz buffalo returned the opening kick-off for a touchdown. It also get another kick-off return for a score. Bill's quarterback Josh Allen says, after seeing that opening play, he knew it would be their day. I can't remember a play that touched me like that. And I don't think in my life. Buffalo finished the season at 13 and three, and now they are the second seed and will host the Miami Dolphins in the wild card round. Ryan leong was at the forty-niners, went over the Cardinals. For the first time in franchise history, the forty-niners ended the season on a ten game win streak after convincing 38 to 13 win over the Cardinals. The forty-niners are locked in as the number two seat in the upcoming NFC playoffs. Brock purdy was 15 of 20 for a 178 yards and three touchdowns. We look at it as a challenge, but we're also excited because it's like, man, if we do play to our full potential, it's like, what else could we do? So those are the kind of things that we ask ourselves every day and we're excited about, but I'm excited moving forward for being on a win streak. In the final game of his career, JJ watt had two sacks and 5 total tackles, but the Cardinals lost 7 straight to finish at four and 13. The bears were 29 13 losers to the Vikings, and the Texans earned a 32 31 win over the colts. That means the bears will have the number one pick in the draft for the first time since 1947. The Houston win didn't stop the team from firing head coach levy Smith. In other games, the falcons beat the Buccaneers 30 17. "National team international, Kay Leo high watt. How early in your relationship did you start dropping football knowledge in the hopes of impressing? Early on, early days I was trying to drop some little football things here and there and she would correct me. She still corrects me to this day. Now I'm very confident. I mean, we've been together 5 plus years. The other day, I was talking to her about square in the ball. I was saying like, why wouldn't he square it there? He was wide open. He should have just squared and she was like, nobody says square it. And I said, yeah, they do say square. What are you talking about? Square is absolutely a term. Correct, Raj. Two out of 5 things that grand Lacey says is square it. Thank you. Maybe it's just grand that says it, but she was looking at me like I was crazy, but I can't remember what it was, but I said one thing that definitely wasn't a real term and she called me on it. So it's a give and take. It's a give and take. Every relationship is a work in progress, but January 2020 Kelly moved to Chicago red stars two word shite out on south side worldwide. One of my favorite tweets of yours came after that trade where the local Houston TV affiliate tweeted Houston dash trade JJ Watt's fiance to Chicago. Do you remember how you clapped back? Yeah, I said something to the frame of her name is Kaylee watt and she's a professional soccer player and she's extremely successful in her own right. I don't like that. I don't like it when people refer to my brothers as JJ watts brothers. I don't like them when people refer to my wife and it's JJ watts wife. She is incredible. She is talented. She is strong and independent and everything and she deserves to stand on her own accolades. I love what Jenna play football a hill as I love the Chicago red stars. They have a stat roster, not just Kay Leah, but Casey short,, Juliet, America's best general since Patton. What's it like being a relationship is too pro athletes together? That level of competitiveness and drive in two humans in one house, pressure for those days off must be bonkers. It can sometimes be the way you would imagine it would be. There's a lot of competition, especially during quarantine when we were training together here at the house every single day. And there's a lot of banter back and forth. There's a lot of strong wilderness, but then there's also a lot of support and help. And we both know what it's like to be an athlete to have the ups and the downs. And we both know what it's like to come home from a game or from a practice and you didn't have your best day. And you need to be picked up and she's been that for me ten times over, especially during the injuries where you're starting to question, am I going to come back from this? Am I ever going to be good again? And she helped lift me up in ways that nobody else ever could. So there is definitely the rough and rowdy banter and competitiveness, but then there's also the love and care and everything else. And you have quickly become one of the most visible NWSL fans in the world and NWSL to make. It's the real Super League. It's become one of the most fascinating, passionate, dedicated footballing cultures in the world. I mean, you go to a Portland thorns game 30,000 fans, the riveters behind the goal. NWSL is a pathfinder for women's sports all over the world, really a taste of the future for what all women's sports couldn't should look like. The NWO sales is a beautiful game. I think our U.S. women's national team has had such grand success on such a monumental level that they have helped elevate the profile of women's soccer in this country and people know Megan Rapinoe. You have crystal Dunn. You have all these household names. And you can go to an NWSL game in your city and see these names playing on the field and watch them in person. It's a powerful thing for all soccer fans. The importantly, so young girls, for them to have an opportunity for role models to look up to. When I was growing up here in Wisconsin, I would go to the local AHL hockey games and I would watch Gino cavallini and some of these young minor league hockey players and I would say that can be me someday. These girls can go to a game and they can watch Kalia. They can watch Julia. They can watch these girls and say that could be me someday. Few people see the discrepancy between men's and women's athletics more than you. You see what things are like in NFL locker rooms. You also see what professional women's footballers have to endure in terms of accommodation, facilities, compensation, and the issue of equality is one of the most important ones in world football right now. What would you say to some of those non believers who think everything's fine as it is? The way that the women's national team has raised the profile of soccer in America and the things that they've been able to accomplish. You can't say that they haven't done an unbelievable job in bringing all new eyeballs and bringing all new sponsorships and bringing all new pride to American soccer. And when you turn on the World Cup, when you're watching the U.S. women's national team raise the trophy, you turn the Olympics, you're looking for those games to watch. There is no denying that success and there is no denying how special and important that is. And I've definitely seen firsthand some of the differences between locker rooms between stadiums between opportunities. These women deserve those opportunities and they deserve those chances. Being a football fan, has it given you a renewed sense of fandom for your own self. My first ever Chelsea game that I went to, my favorite thing, hands down my favorite thing of that game was right in front of me was a father and his son, in the sum was probably 9 years old. And once they won the game and drag was being carried off the sun just looked to his dad and they were singing the Chelsea song and I was like, that is why you play sports because you never know who in the stands. Is that one kid that said his first game ever that is now falling in love with the game because of you. You never know who is in that stadium and who is building that interaction and that connection for the very, very first time. And I think that that is the coolest thing in the world to me to think that I might be the reason that some kid is going to grow up in Arizona Cardinals fan for the rest of their lives or I might be the reason that a kid goes to work out the next day and becomes the next NFL player. I never know if that's going to be me. It's not all just singing pie eating and drinking. It is about the collective memory and to any young American football players and soccer players who dream applying their trade on the biggest stage like you or any ball podcast have you believe they can still get a game with the U.S. men's national team. What's the most important life lesson you can take

"I'm gonna describe west from it shall be and from now on. We weren't very good. We didn't win a single game all year. We got to the final game of the season. And I had a hockey game on the same day and I mean, when your team's not won a game all year and your love is hockey, soccer takes a backseat. So I went to the hockey game first and at halftime I showed up to the soccer game. It was zero to zero. And I actually ended up scoring a hat trick in the second half. We won our first game of the year and our coach took us out for ice cream after the game. So my final soccer game in my life was a success. Oh, chocolate peanut butter cookie dough. It was like winning the care about cup rocks. It's all the way to topping players picked up their medals after the care about cup. That's basically what the ice cream was like for us. JJ, you once tweeted as a kid, I hated it. It being soccer, too much running, not enough scoring, yet you're now obsessed. And I want to know what has changed. Tell us the story of how you JJ watt developed Lee Dixon level football knowledge. I started to really get into the game. I would say in like 2012, 2013, I think a, the Premier League started to come out in America more with NBC sports and the coverage got to be really, really good. It's incredible with the studio work with your work. I truly believe that the NBC coverage has helped grow the game more than almost anything on this side because of the quality of content and the quality of programming. And then I started to get into the tradition in the history of the game in the level of passion that the supporters have and how growing up ingrained in a club is like a birthright and it's different than over here where, especially nowadays with fantasy football teams, loyalties, teams moving cities. It's just a different fan hood. We're over there. It's not a fan hood. You're a family you're ingrained with that club and I fell in love with that. Ever since, I've been in love with it. Can you talk about your Premier League watching regimen? Because if social media is to be believed, I mean, I feel like every weekend, it's my Premier League breakfast in JJ watts having bloody breakfast tacos. You devour football. It's almost like kids devour Saturday morning cartoons. It's the best. I mean, I wake up with Rebecca low and the boys. My favorite thing ever. My favorite thing is during football season, we plan Sundays, so Saturdays, my body clock wakes me up at like 6 o'clock every day. So I wake up at 6 o'clock, I make myself a coffee, get some breakfast tacos, I sit down and I turn on the Premier League morning. We've watched the coverage, watch the games, and then in like the 11 o'clock hour, I set up the second TV with college football and I have primarily on the other TV. And then I go to my team meetings, walk through. I come home, I take a brief nap, and then I catch the 2 o'clock or two 30, Liverpool match or whoever's playing. And it's just the best. And then I get to play my game on Sunday, and I'm building a house in Arizona right now, for when we move down there. And I literally told the builder and the designer, there is a room off my bedroom that has a TV in it and I said, that is my Premier League room. Don't mess with my primarily room. JJ watts, Premier League group. This is America. Who's your favorite Robbie? This is a funny story about the Robbie's. I met them at a Phoenix airport after a Super Bowl one year where we were all doing pressing. They had no clue who I was, which is perfect in its own right. But I told them I'm a huge fan. They just said thank you and a very nice and moved on, but now I would be much more bold than I would have had a full blown conversation. Well, the things I love about you is that you're all in. When you like something, you go long and strong. You are all or nothing. You really are, you have said, international break sucks, but it doesn't matter to me if it's top of the table or bottom of the table and watch Newcastle play Sheffield United and need to know what is it about a Steve Bruce involved affair just sucks you with me. It's just there's not the better. I think that's the beauty of it too. That's why the Super League had so much backlash is the relegation is something that in America we have no concept or understanding of because it's never been a thing. The first time I ever watched Premier League and started to learn about promotion and relegation, how it worked, I was like, this is a the most brilliant thing. People love watching sports when the stakes are high. There is no higher stake in sports than that. But then as a American athlete and a businessman, I was like, that is the worst thing of all time. It's like football played across a moon door. I mean, you are an ultra competitive human being. Relegation, something doesn't happen in American prey sports. Have you thought about what it must feel like to be a Fulham player playing under that level of dress? Yes, I finished in the bottom three of the NFL twice in my career now. And I've thought, could you possibly imagine what that would be like that my team would be out of the league as an athlete, it's so hard to fathom, especially over here. And I can totally see, obviously, with the Super League and with the American influence, why that went that way, but I thought it was a beautiful thing to watch the supporters just take it all back. What is it about the gameplay itself that you love the intricacies of the games within the game? You've said it's like one big flowing chess match, but what do you see when you watch? It took me a long time to truly learn. That's probably the last thing that I learned was the actual intricacies of link up play and about building from the back. You know, all the little things that guys are doing. And I think that it's just how everybody flows and mixes with each other and feels where the other guy is going to be and knows how to move. And when Kevin LeBron gets the ball and Sergio Agüero knows how to slide into place, it's just the beauty of it watching a Pep Guardiola buildup is just a special. You are a bloke filled with self confidence and belief. I love that. I wish I was, but instead of you, all you need to do is set your mind on something and you will make it so. I heard you once told your partner, Kei Leah. The way they full year of intense training, you could become a Premier League keeper when you're done playing football. I did. I did tell her that. That was a mistake. She quickly laughed in my face. I'm a very confident person. I'm an athlete. I'm in the NFL. You an American. Yes. Exactly, exactly. I'm in America. And so I'm like, yeah, 'cause I'm thinking I bat passes down at the line of scrimmage. I'm agile. I move quickly and why couldn't I do this? And then we stepped out in the backyard last year during quarantine because nobody could go anywhere. So we built a half soccer field in my backyard. And I stepped into the net. First I was like, just kick a penalty against me. Let's see what happens. By the way, I think about this. You must feel like a third of that gold JJ. That's what I thought. I thought you would invite suck. It's gonna hit me in the face, you know? I'm gonna stop it. Raj, the speed that that ball flew past my head, I immediately said, I've been wrong in every capacity whatsoever. I heard that story. I'm still like, you'd be an upgrade for Jordan Pickford but your arm offers an Everton fan to have JJ swatting goal, but you have also become friendly with a number

"Cake piece sports I'm David Schuster a huge night in the NBA Tuesday highlighted by an amazing performance from Luka Dončić, who scored a career and franchise high 60 points as Dallas rally to beat New York one 26 one 21, Dončić also had 21 rebounds in ten assist for his coach Jason Kidd. A special, you know, the history of the game is written by the players, and that was written again tonight. First four player Luca doing something that's never been done before. Elsewhere, Jayson Tatum and jaylen Brown combined for 77 points as Boston defeated Houston, Brown scoring 39. Andre was just getting gotten better with experience. I think chase is playing, you know, at all time, best level for him, and we're just coming out and just playing being an aggressive. In Orlando, Russell Westbrook had a triple double as the Lakers defeated the magic. I'm hooper. I can do anything. Anytime anywhere, whatever is asking me what I'll do and I'll continue doing that until further notice. And in Memphis, Phoenix defeated the grizzlies one 25 one O 8 with Denny camp reporting. Dwayne Washington junior led 8 sons in double figures with a career high 26 to help the shorthanded sons improved to 20 and 15, playing without Devin Booker and Landry shamit Phoenix caught fire early taking a 16 point lead into the half, pushing it out to as many as 25 in the fourth. John morant scored a game high 34 for the grizzlies, who fell for the fourth time in the last 5 games and dropped to 20 and 13. Turning to hockey, Darcy Kemper in Washington shut out the islanders for nothing with the caps having won ten of their last 11 games. We've been having a great December here and just kind of building our game and with each win, you can kind of see a little bit more confidence in how we want to play. With everyone on the same page, we're having a lot of success. And in pro football three time NFL defensive player of the year, JJ watt announces retirement at season's end. "They have proven to the plan. So same bro. What's your position. I don't think. I don't know competent. No i want to be surprised that this two different. I'm gonna be surprised. Because they're the best record in the league. but they had not proven it to mean a player. That's why i just can't say they're going to do it. I don't think they are title. Contenders said i do not the tower thinners because they have not proven to me in the playoffs we have a lot of teams that play well in the regular season and they're not able to duplicate that success in the playoffs. I'm buying the playoff success argument. Both of you guys i. I'm not buying that per se. I just don't think they are because they're just not i think they're comparable to two teams in the last ten years the nba and making fall in one of these two categories the best case scenario the two thousand eighteen rockets that ended the season as the number one seed rate. Defense great offense. They're prepared to play the golden state warriors. They lost chris. Paul and the other team is twenty. Four two thousand fifteen atlanta hawks went sixteen twenty two rate record number one see but we knew they weren't legit. I think they're closer to that. Atlanta hawks team because they're not better than the of the denver nuggets out better than the both la teams so that it's going to be very tough for them to get to the conference championship game. A lot of lucky things to bounce away. And i mean avoiding certain teams right. But they're going to have to play the nuggets. The clippers or the lakers and i don't think they're favourite to win any of those series so i don't think they're even the question is are they finals contenders. I don't think they're western conference. Finals contenders so great season. They're gonna put up a great record but unfortunately they're just they don't have enough. They may need to do something at the trade deadline they go out and get like a guy like a. Pj tucker somebody who can really make a difference in the playoffs. You might happening sunday. So i mean you don't title contenders right. Oh absolutely not. Who'd you be surprised if they went to the conference championship shock. Oh they don't make a deal if they don't make a deal at the deadline is i mean what do you use. Ask better than nuggets user. Now this is my thing the nuggets. The nuggets came back against utah jazz team. They had a three one lead on him. Okay and i mentioned about the west before. The west is full of dangerous teams. You have the la lakers and the clippers who are on top of that western conference my Mountain they had the phoenix suns. Utah jazz yet. The denver nuggets. These are very very dangerous teams. I use that as before last year. Chris you didn't think both a. teams will make it to the finals. That's going to be. It's going to be either one l. a. team and one of these other teams that we just mentioned. Utah did have a lead in the denver nuggets in that role through and went to the conference finals. They had to tough it out in a game. Seven against utah. Tough out against the clippers to get all the way there and there's another team into western weakened for sure say is going to get there besides lakers if they have a healthy athlete davis by the way i hear what you're saying i agree with you but that was last season. I said that all year. I didn't think both la teams finding this season. And i feel we are. Most people thought that the clippers were win this series especially when they went up necessarily going be. La lakers in la clippers. And i still think that. I'm big on. If makes sense. I really am. I think that is a very dangerous team a very complete team. They're playing very well together so they can knock people out. And i don't necessarily think that. The phoenix suns overwhelming favourite against the utah jazz. Either i do. I would pick to win that series. But i don't think they're overwhelming favourite. Also you don't think the jazz are better than their sons. Well we mean. Low mentioned is as playoff playoff time. When it comes to play time you got the worst. And i think when it when it comes to play. They haven't proven anything to me. The barak same and going against an a series against the sons would favor the jazz witness series based on the team. You know based on chris paul and his you know his track record. He has led his teams to play. Off wins okay. It hasn't been the most greatest playoff. So i'm just saying based off the experience that the phoenix suns have and the winter playing right now as one dangerous teams. I wouldn't be surprised if they beat the utah jazz. Say that and i get that. I'm saying who you favorite in this series if they play right now but who will be favored necessaries its strength. I'm saying. I am going to ask a question chris but i'm telling you who will be favored essays would be the utah jazz but i would like the sun out. I would believe windsors our have it as upset as put out there. There will be. I would think you'll being upset because utah. We'll have homecourt advantage. They had the best home court record india. Nba right now. So it is. But they're all. Those teams are dangerous. They're not the lakers would healthy. The lakers are going to the conference by the jazz missing. L. i want to ask you this chris when you were you brought up the trade Possibility pick up. Pj tucker what are they missing for me. I think they're missing that. I don't know if necessarily need a transcendent superstar. But i don't think there are any necessarily any necessary stars on that team that kind of talent level that person that makes a difference. I think that's what they're missing for me. They closely remind me of last year's bubble the playoff bubble raptors teams. Whether you remind me of a little better defensively yeah. That's kind of just the way that they're building. No no it's not. It's not that it's just based on the way that they're built They're they're they're always. I mean for the last. How many years now. They've been playoff. They've been in the playoffs there consistently there s. No slouch right Just like when we talked about. But what level were they. Going to be the lakers in this series. What they didn't last year the clippers aren't very good this year to me so i think you know they are gripper. Well shock last year playoffs right. I mean it comes down to the Could they beat the sons of the sons. Make it. I think did of course right Who else we got In india we got it. Yes so you know. There's a lot of competition there in the west stack. But i think that that team missing that that super star type player you know that she's gonna turn it on and take over games and they don't have that so once again. it would come down to the playoffs. Let's get to a western conference championship. And let's see how far you guys go from there. If you go then. I think we can really you know. Take seriously. But i'm i'm not a pupil known them don't think they're a bad team. Just like you said there's no they're not no. This was noth another. There's no way let's say you're not. You're not trying to communicate but you are if me lower poop win on the utah jazz. They were pooped on. Everybody besides lakers. Because we know the lakers at cream acros. I'm going to okay. How example how about peyton manning up until he won the annapolis. I'm manny one. That first super bowl into indianapolis colts are are a great team. They're considering the playoffs but guess what they couldn't get past the patriots. They couldn't get past the baltimore ravens to get into the soup bone so they finally did so. It's not that that team didn't rank number one in offense. They then had a decent defensive. How great coach. Several well run organization. But it's the fact that there were missing something until they got their something. They finally got to that that that the that super bowl so that's where they are right. Now this is this is a team. That's top five in both categories when we're talking about the utah jazz top five in office a top five defense but what are you going to do and get out of the second round of the playoffs and that's what it comes down to let me say this. Let me this though. So other than the lakers. Who in the western conference has done anything..

Chris Atlanta hawks chris paul sixteen Paul utah sunday chris two teams atlanta hawks last year Both both first twenty three Utah second round both categories peyton

Best offer for J.J. Watt is between $15-$16 million per year

"After days of cryptic JJ Watt sweets, we finally have a real piece of newsworthy information. ESPN is dangerous. Seanie reporting this morning that JJ Watt has received several offers from teens. The best offers sitting on the table right now is between 15 and $16 million per year per her sources. We don't know which team offered That deal. It remains to be seen Pro football talk Sharee Williams says JJ might be willing to take a little bit less money from a contender to go elsewhere. Maybe he gives some team discount that he really wants to go to if he wants to win a Super Bowl there plenty of teams out there that are interesting. JJ Watt and JK will what will have his choice of several of those teams because we've heard the Titans around on Lee ones who publicly Admitted that they have interest in JJ Watt. But we've heard all the other teams out there who reportedly have interest in JJ Watt, and there's a number of them that he can pick to go to, and you'll help him. We will see if that discounted team turns out to be Green Bay, but no signing yet as of 8 15 on February the

"Who hasn't kissed or guy for a long time a great leader to build around and a team a person that dead. The roster in Philadelphia rallied around Jalen hurts. They like him. He's their guy he went over that locker room and I'm very very excited for the future of Gala hurts whether or not that coach works out. I don't know but if the coach page will not be because Jalen hurts is not the right guy to be your starting quarterback in Philadelphia. Okay. Let's shift gears. Let me drink some water real quick first. Now I am late to this news. I think it's totally fine. But a while back the Texans did release JJ Watt their defensive tackle. I was so happy for the guy the dude is getting out of home in thank goodness. Good for JJ Watt number. He's a three-time former NFL defensive player of the year. He tweeted recently free agency. It's wild thoughts and every team in the NFL has made an offer or try to contact the guy. I'm very excited to see where JJ Watt is going to go, you know, even if he's not the same player he was five years ago in 2015 or I guess six years ago. Now time has flown by JJ Watt is still a study is a great player at the minimum a good player. But he's also a great leader in your locker room is viewed as a helpful. You can be a positive leader and a positive presence for young guys in your locker room. That's very attractive for games like the Arizona Cardinals or the Buffalo Bills. They're like, yes, we will take them. Leadership happily plus is good player. A lot of teams want JJ Watt. Now. My number one assumption is and I guess I would love to see JJ Watt bulb with the Pittsburgh Steelers because his brother TJ watt is there whose brother Derek Waters? They're both of his brothers are the Steelers went to the playoffs last year. They are they got I think a mediocre quarterback Big Bend, that would be it would make me pause. If I was JJ Watt. I don't want to go to a team with a better quarterback in my opinion Hall of Fame had a great career the great career appears to be over four big then he's declining but again, the brothers gave it a likely fit that Pittsburgh is the place where JJ.

Philadelphia Eagles trade QB Carson Wentz to Indianapolis Colts for two draft picks

"Story of the day. The Eagles have traded quarterback Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts and oh my goodness. It made me very happy. I was so excited. There's a lot to unpack. I want to start though by mentioning a weird thing first. In the 2016 NFL draft the number and overall pick was Jared Goff. The number two overall pick was Carson Wentz. And both have been traded away from the teams. They were drafted by 19 days apart. Just a weird quick doesn't happen very often the guy a number and overall pick a number 2 overall pick gets traded away. Especially not the quarterback position. Let alone almost in just over two weeks apart from each other. That's crazy. Pretty wild now after the trade the Eagles have a 33.8 Million Dead money. Salary cap charge for the 2021 NFL season what that means I will get into that in a minute. First of all, that's actually by the way the most ever to have dead money cap. I guess charge or penalties by an NFL team. It's so much that I actually thought that might keep the Eagles from trading cars and stuff like that might be so much of a penalty. They're not even getting rid of the guy sounds like they did. I thought it's good for everybody Carson Wentz wanted out they I think we're you know, we'll talk about Jalen hurts in a minute, but I thought it was good to get Carson out of there. It is also kind of weird and interesting I talked about Jared Goff previously very briefly the other the the record for the most amount of dead money against the salary cap was Jared Goff. The Rams amount is 22.2 million dollars off. Beat 19 days later by the Carson Wentz trade what is dead money? You may ask it's basically all the guaranteed money the Eagles still owe Carson Wentz after the trade. So even though Carson is no longer on their team. He still creates a thirty three point eight million dollar cap hit for next year. So over thirty-three million dollars off of the salary cap has taken up for Philadelphia. They cannot use that money for other players. It's weird. It's interesting. It's never that's again the most ever pretty interesting. I was surprised that you know, they still trade off a given that but in the trade the Colts got Carson Wentz so the cold they get their quarterback that the replacement Philip Rivers the replacement for Andrew Luck. I'm happy for the Colts man. They've they've Way to make it work. They lost in Turlock. They had to scramble the Mage Jacoby Brissett work for a year. They made Philip Rivers work for a year. Now. They've got what they believe is their franchise guide Carson Wentz good for them. The Eagles got a 2001 third-round pick for the upcoming NFL draft and a conditional 2022 second-round pick and here's what's really cool. The condition. Is that if Carson Wentz plays 75% off Kohls offensive snaps for next year if it stays healthy place the whole year or you know, it's good enough to be the starter all years and get benched. Then that draft pick goes from a second round pick in 2022 to a first-round picks. Oh, wow. I like about that. People are saying the Eagles got a horrible trade. They got fleeced. It's terrible. Oh my goodness. You gotta realize this is probably the best trade they could possibly find the Eagles traded away Carson Wentz a guy who has an injury history has been injured repeatedly over the years. He's coming off of a horrible season where he was so bad the dude got benched for Jalen hurts a rookie quarterback Club. So the fact that Philadelphia made a trade where they have an opportunity to get a first-round pick that's impressive to me. I think people realize that's the best they were going to get so anybody criticizing Philadelphia you did not realize how I think how little value Carson Wentz really had on the market people like nobody really wants him. I think JJ Watts getting a ton of attention Carson Wentz people are very wary. And I think it's really what's really disappointed me. Is that the Bears didn't get him. What did the Bears did the Bears not want him? I don't understand. Maybe they're trying to John Watson feel like the Bears really lost here. They still got home key who Carson Wentz has problems I think is way better than Mitchell trubisky. So debate that all you want. I don't know how you go. Like. Oh the Bears they got a great quarterback still trubisky. I like it. I think another thing people got realize is that I love the trade for Carson Wentz. He's going to a way better team he gets to play for his former offensive coordinator Frank back in 2017 the best year Carson Wentz ever had in the NFL. He was a before he got hurt. He was an MVP candidate playing under Frank Reich. He's reuniting with that guy that's going to be awesome to got a great relationship and EM the Colts have a great offensive line. They've got to get running game. They've got a great defense Carson Wentz is being put into a great situation. If he does not do well then there's no excuse. You can make he's got great great team around him good support good people. He's getting helped.

Report: J.J. Watt ‘seriously considering’ signing with the Browns

"The browns on the first teams to show interest in signing defensive end. Jj watt after. He was released by the texans on friday and it appears that the interest is mutual. Cleveland dot com reports that. What is seriously considering making his way to cleveland. To play for the browns due to the cap space they have available and a roster he thinks can potentially compete for the super bowl. Now we all know it's been a while since any big name free agent shows to sign with the browns. Do you think that. Jj watt is actually a realistic option for them. So i've left or swipe right. I think it's very realis- either. You put them next two miles. Gary that i mean yeah. That's really smart right here. Yeah that'd be a great acquisition. I immediately went to the rams as a possibility the idea of teaming two guys who are three time defensive players of the year would be an unbelievable option. Here's the issue. They probably do have room to work it out but it might be a question of. Jj watt or john johnson and leonard floyd in that scenario and that world do you go. Jj watt or do you go the other guys. I would go the other two guys but it's close really close. So does cleveland one. Sign what i said. Who don't want to sign what they're what i

"Talk about it real quick here about the current state of the nfl. All right to shawn watson is going to be somebody that's talked about if this is the way the. Nfl becomes with high super caliber superstar quarterbacks wanting out of their russell wilson is somebody you would never think whatever asked to be traded or moved or anything other than go hawks matthew stafford we thought he was potential gonna die on a football field while wearing alliance jersey because he would never ever come out and say hey. This is not for me anymore. Okay i would like to potentially go on and have success somewhere because when legacies are talked about hall of fames or talked about. I just heard what happened. philip rivers. I would like that not to happen to me. But this is not the type of guy i am at all now got. Jj watt not that type guy at all by all accounts. He's going in saying. Get me out of here. That's when it gets interesting because now it's not you know because back in the day they would move somebody is they're labeled a distraction. Let's get out of here. Let's go do whatever now. It's like all of the biggest name players that you would never expect a walter payton man of the year potentially the greatest philanthropic person in the nfl is potentially saying you know what i mean a new landscape. I'm intrigued to see how this continues. How each of these situations gets talked about judge in how many of them actually happened. Because the seahawks without russ stink. The texans were out the shawn watson. Probably gonna stink now without. Jj watt not to jj watt winning. Them games good player. I mean he's a great player. He's gonna play well somewhere else. What you need to know: Detroit Lions vs Houston Texans on Thanksgiving Day

"Let's go into tomorrow's games. The first game is the houston texans at the detroit lions detroit. Lions are plus three Let me check the money real quick here. The fifty nine percent of the bets are on the texans and percent of the money is on the texans. The line just got shut out. Texans had a big win against patriots. started you michael. What do you think well. I think i got the injury report for houston for the for the alliance because they weren't the same team. My mouth stafford was healthy in that game. I'm not saying there are good tv. You know there are three and three the last six games but i think that they weren't healthy. They didn't have golladay staffer. It wasn't healthy swift. Didn't play if those guys are playing and healthy. You know that you've gotta take that into consideration especially against a bat houston defense which you play run defense really well as we gave up a tiny arts but they were able to shut down the patriots from running the football. And you know and you look at it they. They've allowed one hundred thirty two points to houston in the last five games and only have created three turnovers houston doesn't create turnovers and allow points and mvp and the shawn watson is having an mvp type season. He's averaging over eight point five yards per attempt. He's only had one one point five interceptions. I mean percentage wise. I think he's been really good. The game doesn't set up good for detroit because houston's too fast on offense detroit too slow on defense the concern you have if you wanna play this game is is what good can use to do against the the lions defensively because if there if the lions aren't healthy they can play well so i think that's the concern is where is the lions helped the factor in this way is i think from talking to people around the league you know. I think it would have been other week. Besides thanksgiving patricia lost his job on after the after the carolina he may lose after this game. If they don't win. I mean i think that's how that's how tight it is. I'm not saying he's fired on friday. I'm not sick. Predicted sanders a lot of conversation about that. Yeah i mean that is obviously worried for the lines is as are they going to show up and play Away from texas. I saw cooks out Potentially i believe i still. Kenny stills has also out galled as probably going to be out for The lines it seems like jonah swift is going to be back who he played very very well the weekend before and the Houston texans are number thirty. Two in the league versus rush. That is my only reservation. Though for taking the texans talked about earlier like. Jj watt probably gonna wanna show up to sean lock. Primetime time game might be the last one you know. We'll fuller's ver- contract after the season potentially looking at shop and everybody's watching you know. Yep but look they had a big lead on you know a detroit out a big lead on on washington they left. Detroit is slow there to the worst two-minute defense at all football. According to the kid that they drafted the third overall pick played only twenty four plays last week. Why i don't know i think. The biggest indictment of matt patricia. Coaching staff is when adrian peterson comes out and says i don't know why he didn't meet three weeks ago. That kids me

Bill O'Brien: Head coach fired by Houston Texans

"Coach Bill O'Brien has gone from the Houston Texans and nobody can say they're surprised last January. He had his team up twenty four nothing over the chiefs in the playoffs then got outscored fifty one to seven. But as a coach O'Brien can at least say he won four division champions in six years. It's as a GM that he made. You scratch your head in one year he traded former number one picture Davey clowney to Seattle he traded two first round picks a second round pick for Laremy Tunsil and Kenny stills and the whopper of the mall. He traded the Andre Hopkins to Arizona for running back David Johnson as of now. Johnson is thirty seventh in the League in rushing and Hopkins leads the NFL in receiving. Yeah. That'll get you fired but not as fast as an oh four start despite having to Shawn Watson and Jj Watt on your team a heated argument with what may have been the last straw for O'Brien. Then again, have you ever stood next to Jj watt they can't say O'Brien doesn't have courage. He just doesn't have a job anymore.

Mayfield "absolutely" will kneel during national anthem

"Ends up so the PGA tour is back the NBA we believe is heading back Major League Baseball will be shut down the players throats to get back right and then we have the NFL again having the longest runway to get this thing going but while we're waiting for training camp to start at the end of next month and waiting so for some players to sign contracts we're seeing how so many players specifically so many white players are are joining their brothers in arms in terms of their teammates and fighting for the causes that they believe in and two stars over the weekend had some very interesting responses some of their followers on Twitter both J. J. watt in Houston and Baker Mayfield in Cleveland both of them at one point said you know to a fan you know that the fans and to them that I know that Baker Mayfield will be one of those guys kneeling or J. J. watt will be kneeling during the national anthem and they both said yeah you better believe we are we're going to show support for people who understand and feel like they have been wronged in all of this and they want to bring attention to this and both J. J. watt and Baker Mayfield shut down those Twitter followers that no no no that's not what this is about and we respect what they're going to do yeah and so to be clear and all this in differentiating them Baker's basically said he's absolutely going to Neil yes JJ said you don't speak for me and if you think that kneeling is about disrespecting the flag yes you have been listening so J. J. watt didn't commit to kneeling which it is is something that could sound like a headline but still J. J. watt speaking out about this all would have been one of my more unlikely bets going into this just because J. J. watt is never been a guy that's really straight about half one way or another he's been a guy that's gone out there to play football certainly been very charitable we know others a lot of the things that have been a part of his past and some of the relief efforts he's helped with in Houston but straining out in this way and offering an opinion on this wasn't something I expected from the three time defensive player of the soul again actually what they said was for Baker Mayfield that someone you know posting about in answering a post from a fan on his Instagram about Saturday that pleaded for him not to kneel Mayfield responded pull your head out I absolutely am and in response to a person treating tweeting at JJ watt pretty sure JJ what would not be taking a knee during the national anthem J.
