"Hey guys, it's Pablo. Hello. Today's episode of ESPN daily is a very special episode because it is a conversation that I had with JJ Redick in person at his home in Brooklyn and it was originally supposed to be about Ben Simmons and his possible return to Philadelphia next week. But it ended up being about a lot more. I don't know, it was fun. Just set it on the floor so the wires don't like unplug or anything. I think you're good. You got your notebook. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm good to go. Cool. Cool. All right, let's do it. I was someone that at almost 8 years old in 1992, late in her hits the shot against Kentucky to win an overtime, and I turned to my parents, and I said, I'm gonna go play at duke. JJ Redick played in the NBA for 15 seasons after leaving duke university, where he was one of the greatest scorers in the history of college basketball. There's a long run of duke players that have been using air quotes here, but have been hated and it felt like everyone hated me. In the eyes of duke haters, he is the new Christian waiter, just shorter and with more range. JJ Redick, the guy that opposing fans love to hate. And not just hated me. But would say very personal things to me. Virtually every time goes on the road, JJ Redick hears the same kind of taunts and bars. And as an 1819 year old kid with a very unhealthy ego structure like most 1819 year old kids, I didn't know how to deal with that. Last time he was in this arena, Reddick was serenaded by a profane chant that were clearly audible on TV, but it's not just a miracle.

Like Mike budenholzer the guy who the coach who was aghast that you're doing this at your character, he now is watching yannis flop against Peyton Pritchard, you know, who's 6 foot one in game four of the Celtics bucks series. No one, as much as this is something that I'm going to drill down on with you. It's happening all over the place. And I guess what I'm curious about is the performance art aspect of it. The method, the technique, where did you learn this? Who taught you? Um, that's a great question. I think it's just gained knowledge over time. I'll be honest, and I would tell referees this that would get mad at me. Like, I'm not going to call that foul. He wasn't your landing area. I would sometimes kick my legs out. And it was because over time it happens three or four times where you don't kick your legs out and you land on someone's foot and you sprain your ankle and you're out for two weeks. I just would avoid that. And I would tell referees that it's fine if you don't call it, just no, I'm not, that's not an actual flop. I just don't want to sprain my ankle. So some of it was that. And then it's like positive reinforcement with the referees. Go back to the Tatum thing. So if I'm playing a game against M 13 years old in AAU and I'm 6 three, 150 pounds and I'm playing against a much stronger player and he's using his off arm to push off time and time again and they're not calling it. Well, at some point, if I fall and I get the charge, they offensive foul call, then I'm saying, oh, that works. That works. It's the same thing if somebody's in my airspace and I fall down. I'm like, oh, that works. This is JJ Redick telling the referees. I learned it from you, dad. I learned it from you. You're the ones who convinced me that this is actually, by the way, in your defense, and effective strategy. Well, Reggie Miller was a guy that I watched a ton of tape of. When he would run floppy action, so catch a shoot stuff, he would start on a dead sprint. And then if the guy was sprinting with him and was on his rear, he would just stop and the guy would run into him and he would launch himself forward and they'd call a foul. Brilliant. Oh, that's a good strategy. And then there was other times where Reggie would be running off the screen and the guy would be on his high side this time. And as he got to the screen, he would just grab his arm. So as he came off the screen, it looked like he was being held. And I used this to my advantage quite a bit at duke quite a bit at duke. I shot a lot of free throws. Yeah. Once I learned how to do this effectively. And I remember my rookie year, we were playing in a game at Charlotte, and I tried to move. And one of the referees whose son at the time was a college referee, said to me, I've watched your games in college. I'm not gonna give you that call. I know what you're doing. It doesn't always work. It doesn't always work. He's like, there's a wanted poster in the refs like dressing room, and your face is all over it. I mean, but the coaches, JJ, part of the art that you're describing, right? Something that's emulated by watching others. It doesn't seem like there's formal instruction in other words, like our coaches saying anything about this or they encouraging or discouraging or providing any sort of counsel as you're sort of figuring out how to do this stuff. I don't think there's anybody that's ever said to Marcus smart Marcus stop doing that. I don't think any of his coaches are doing that. I would say it's the opposite. It's more like the teams and the coaches can send and tape after a game to the league. And so they'll send in tape about a guy's tactics. We'll call them tactics. The guy's tactics to draw fouls. And the more that reputation is attached to a player than the more referees are aware of it. And the referees, of course, are professionals and they're prepared. So they'll go into every game and they'll huddle up before the game and they'll say, okay, we got Marcus smart tonight. Let's just be aware of the fact that he made try to flop. They're very aware of their, but they're human beings. And so in the moment, again, as method actors, like in the moment, it seems real. It seems real. And it's hard for the referee to distinguish between real and fake. Oh, it's so hard. I mean, I don't envy this at all. I mean, we have the benefit again to go back to the slow motion replay of seeing it from every angle, a million times to evaluate it, but meanwhile, I want to bring in the overseas aspect to your JJ because listening to you talk to Marcus, Marcus, I believe, said that he got it. He learned it from the overseas guys initially. And obviously Europe, that's part of their tactics of barrier synonym here. Is that how you also understand the globalization of flopping here? How much of that is part of the story the international aspect of it? Yeah, it was joking with legs earlier. I don't remember there being as much when I was watching games in the 90s. Same. No, I really don't, other than Reggie Miller. And again, he's.

"The out. It's worth noting, by the way, that Marcus smart. And I loved that part of your pod. The old man in the three, everyone should be listening to it. I'm sure they are already. But I love that he is somebody that, I mean, you you're not biased in his favor. I mean, this is somebody who has left you in stitches, both figuratively, and also literally. Yes, correct. He shot faked me on a three point attempt when I was with the Clippers right in front of our bench. And I didn't jump, but I leaned forward. So in an effort to draw the foul, again, I used the word launch again. I would describe it. He launched his upper body toward my body, and all he caught was my eye with his elbow. And your elbow caught my eye. I mean, you're a shooter. You understand it? We got it from you guys. You know, you got to learn, you know, you guys, you guys flop a lot when it's time to get the call, but you hate when guys flop against you. And I had to get, I think it was 13 stitches and had a black. I actually went to the duke UNC game like three days later, and I had a black eye, which was just fine, whatever. But I'm sure the Carolina fans were like, whoever did this. Thank you. God bless Marcus smart. But no, I do think you have to do it at times. And I know there's complaints about it, but to me it seems natural. Not everything. I'm not saying I'm not condoning all flopping, but I'm saying a lot of it is just about drawing attention to someone trying to gain an advantage on you. And if that advantage is illegal, let's draw as much attention as we can to the act. Well, you are performing for an audience that is very specific. And it's not the audience that is the one that you hear from because fans, everyone, commentators, they'll be aghast at it. It's for those referees, which is why I now need to show you. I need to turn the tables on you and do to you what you did to Marcus smart. Okay. I'm going to show you a clip myself of yourself. Actually, do you know what clip I'm going to show you? No. I'm sure. No, I don't. I never flopped. Oh my God. Oh my God. Hold on. I'm actually going to pull this, I'm going to show it on my phone because this is fine. Yep, yep, hold on. That's my alert. Hold on. It's this one. Oh, here it is. Here it is. Here it is. Okay. I'm going to tilt my camera ready. Can you see any of this? Oh yeah. Yeah. JJ Redick. I know the play. I know the plug. Where's the foul? So I'll sort of describe the play for the listener. So we're playing Atlanta. I've got a look at the basket from three and Kent bazemore does a really nice job as he should of running me off the line. Now, as he's running me off the line, I dribble inside the three point arc, and he wraps his arm around me as he goes by me when he runs me off. The referees do not call that foul. I thought it should have been called. It impeded my progress. And so I went up to shoot, but two seconds later, I just flailed my entire body. And shot an 18 footer about 14 feet. One handed. JJ, again, the art of this, you resembled the air Jordan logo. Both legs go out, one arm goes up, mid range, and it's important to reiterate this because this is why incident on at least for its illustrated named this, the 2015, 2016 flop of the year. Oh, congratulations. I did win an award in the NBA fantastic. But it's worth reiterating this. This was two seconds after the infraction that you're now alleging. And so Kent bazemore is staring at you. And Mike budenholzer is his face. I can't even begin to describe the mixture of just like impressed and furious that one man could be simultaneously. You know, it's plays like that. That made the NBA institute the review. You were literally feet away from Kent bazemore and you're acting was so good that the ref in question missed it or made the call having missed the reality of the call and the NBA then what did escalating fines for repeat offenders to deter recidivists like yourself? I got what happened? Yes, I never got actually fined. I had a warning one time when I was in Milwaukee. This was a few years earlier. So maybe the rule was no, the flapping rule was in place. I don't know if the review was in place the challenge, the challenge that each coach has allowed in 2015, 2016. But in 2012, 2013 during my brief tenure with the bucks, we were playing the Oklahoma City Thunder late in the regular season and Derek Fisher closed out on me. And again, he ran me off the line, and as I'm sort of trying to drive by him, my face hit his shoulder. Now, Derek Fisher, he's a solid guy. He's a solid guy. Definitely felt like maybe it could have been a foul, but I just crumpled to the floor. I crumbled to the floor. And they called a foul, and at the time I believed Derek Fisher was the head of the union. So I was like, I'm going to get a call on this. And I sure enough. Sure enough. You know, I got a call. The other one that I think, for me, as a shooter, if you're in my airspace, I would draw attention to the fact that you were in my airspace. So a lot of times I would just hit the deck. You know, I'd hit the deck. And there was one against no fly zones around you. Exactly. Avery Bradley closed out on me in the air, as I'm shooting, and he gently gently, his Jersey just so slightly touched my Jersey. There was no body contact. But the vague fabric based fashion was enough for you. Fabric based fiction. Through my shot off. And so I fell. They called the foul and then two days later, I got a warning for that as well. You know, the word you used and I'm going to go back to something you said, the word you used about performance. And I think that's so interesting to think of athletes. Obviously, we're competing, but there's an element of being on stage and my wife used to always make fun of me. Whether it was a flop or if I took a charge and I would just lay on the ground in so much pain or if I got hit in the head, you know, I've seen guys who could shot his contested and somebody in a rearview contest will like Tyler here did this the other day. Someone touched his hair while he shot and then for the next 5 minutes he's touching the top of his head looking for blood. Looking for blood. JJ, JJ, that is method acting. It's incredible. It's incredible. You are a form of Daniel Day-Lewis. You just got to be in character, problem. That's all it comes down to. You got to be in character. Yes. So JJ, after the break, I want to go even further inside the floppers studio with you. And I want to find out who taught you to play this role..

"You can get hooked up and you're going to save some money, you're going to save some time, you have some delicious meals. Speaking of the NBA, you obviously, you know, you know a little bit about it. And we talk about our love for golf and how you have the bug. Did you always have the bug for basketball throughout your entire career every night, going to the arena? I mean, you say that we have the best job of all the time. You got to play basketball in the NBA, like every single night. Your job was to score baskets and play. And fucking be one of the best that we got to watch our generation. That's fucking awesome. You were such a monster at duke and you had obviously a great NBA career as well. But I remember growing up like JJ Redick at duke is a motherfucking sniper. Was that love always there? Yeah. I don't think, I don't think I would have done it as long as I did without the love, because it's not just going out and performing in front of 20,000 people. There's so much that goes into it. And look, I'm 6 foot four, I'm a great athlete, but relative to NBA players, I'm not on the blow average relative to NBA players. I've got a negative wingspan. So what was required of me to compete at that level for 15 years and do it really well, I had to put so much into it and I put so much into it because I fucking loved it. You have to understand like when I was a kid, I homeschooled till 5th grade and I would get my work done by like 1111 30 and I just go shoot for hours over and over in my backyard and what it was for me was every time the ball would go through the net, I would get a little dopamine kick in my brain. And so I got addicted to that. And even late in my career, 35, 36 years old, I'm going to the gym in the off season 6 days a week and shooting for an hour. I'm going every Sunday. I had off season routine every Sunday I'd make exactly 342 shots. And I had this routine down and I loved it, man. And I never, ever took it for granted. The guys that last are the guys that think I could lose my job any time. I know I've got a guaranteed contract, but somebody's coming for me. And I loved the work. I loved everything that went into it. I love being part of a team. That was for me being, again, a person that grew up in the Woods and the sticks, and I was homeschooled..

"That should also be the goal in the game plan for devon booker moving forward because that will increase who he is without taking more shots and you gotta remember they. It took a while last year. I remember we've did a show like hey he's gonna work. Is this going to start. Are you going to get the best out of devon booker plan next to chris. Paul like is this. is this pairing. You know what how they fit together and then obviously they made they made it work at. They figured it out and they made it work at a huge were and it could get even better between those two synergies booker and paul improve even further. I mean you take away those six weeks to eight weeks that it was rough. There's upcoming season right. You should yeah. I mean they're going to be right back in there and championship conniption. What else we got sasha. We have a question from nico our the bucks a realistic contender for a repeat championship with next year's nba landscape super teams. They're a threat. Yes i i think i think nicos probably coming from a place because brooklyn theoretically being healthy lives a lot of ifs rook linda. Stay healthy with the history of katie of pardon and carried is yada still on the change. The mass court fifty in an elimination game to win a finals like airman. They have a chance at repeating. Yes he scored fifty frigging polaroid's and talk about the potential for improvement. The bucks are also a team. That could improve. Yeah like janas still twenty. Six years old curse still twenty. Six holiday might have been a second most valuable player. In fact he probably was the second most valuable player. The olympic team to durant. If what if jaanus like becomes a far more efficient post score in terms of like Expanding his moves away from that. We see that turnaround jumper. He can overpower guys. What if what. If he's doing like some more like footwork dream shake up and unders. He could incorporate that into his game. Become even more devastating inside if that happens kevin. I'll tell you what. I told my son earlier in the week. If we show up and that's what's at the gym we turn around. We're the wrong jim. Seven food turnaround joe hurts. We're the wrong. Jim turnaround go home. And if there's any guy that you bet on to improve after book book about him he's going to work at the he's going to do everything possible to get better. There's no question so yes. They are absolutely a title contender. Yeah no doubt okay. This is another one from denmark. Here we go. Yes for or jesper sir. I'm sorry. To their success he was a significant rotation player. To a team. That i think probably outperformed that a roster a few different times by making it to the eastern conference finals and they were right there you know and he was a guy getting big minutes on that team and so i always been smart fan. I am a marcus smart fan. How could you not be a huge you grit and grind. That's what marcus smart is right. Symbols qualities that you know self expands have long loved loved with both tony allen. You know who helped bring that to memphis the all time. Tommy points leader rest in peace time. He really might be the all time leader itami points. Lord knows. tommy tommy heinsohn man. I miss listen. South extremes with my dad watching tommy heights. It's the mike orman the smart. Oh my god he love marcus more. You know what i mean anyway. I think you'd probably get the best of marcus smart and it's not a it's not a crazy contract it's not. It's not a crazy contract and even if you are thinking we want to use him as a piece. I think you need to get the best of marcus you know. In order to make him. I think his stock right now is nearly as high as it could be. Because he's got a lot of fans around the league but he also did not have a good season and they didn't have a good season last year right. There was a lot of people that truly fell in love with marcus. Smart where they were making those eastern conference finals appearances and he was making game winning plays at the end of playoff games. Like that's the kind of thing that they did last year was just a. There's a disaster. It'll be interesting to see. How with. Dhaka how i ooh what the offense looks like. It looks like and how balanced responsibilities orcas you bring back al horford as well. Who's going to be getting some of those touches some facilitating opportunities around the elbows from the perimeter I i wonder like what is marcus. Smart swirl gonna look like. I would assume he's going to start over schroeder You also have josh. Richardson in the mix there. Now as well peyton pritchard. Who's hab an awesome awesome. Summer league grabbed that. It's just summer league But he had a great rookie season as well as late. first round. Pick so you get a lot of guards in that backcourt nevermind. Tatum and brown. "Crying talking about you know his trek to get to the nba and how difficult. It's been being away from his family. He's been playing the last couple of years in germany and there was a couple of different teams that really wanted him at toronto ended up signing him but i mean it was incredibly touching and sometimes the path always the same for these guys as to how they get to the nba at its. It's cool stories like that. That when i'm watching and i'm going who is that guy and i ended up looking them up that end up coming across some really cool stuff you know. That is not just the top prospects. I mean isn't that. I mean it's true in life. Journey isn't always linear you know. Sometimes there's you know you bumps in the road and everything and for any professional athlete if you're not going straight to the nba. Your choices are the g. league. Which for most guys. I believe the average league salary is like thirty five k. forty k. Something like that or to go overseas and make hundreds of thousands typically sometimes for a lot of different leagues. So hopefully it just makes you think hopefully someday for you know some of the american born players someday that the g. league that the average salary is you know. Sixty five seventy eighty. You know the closer to a competitive rate compared to the international league's because that way you know easier to be around your family your loved ones your friends and still pursued the dream of playing in the nba nf. Not you're still home right. And i i mean you know somebody and and you know for somebody. That's that's already got a family. That's got kids you know. That's one of the things. That's what made him cry when you start talking about it. Because he's talking about his ability to sign with the raptors now. What a blessing it is because he said it was awful being away from his family but he did it so they could have a better life. He did it so that they that's why he was doing it. You know he was. He was over there playing in order to support his family. And it's different right like all of a sudden. You're what your motivations change greatly right once you have children and for some of these guys if they have children at a young age. It's now i am the i'm in support mode. I want to go and be able to. you know. Make enough money to support my family and for a kid with that kind of talent the you know his his next stop was going to be being away from them. That was the sacrifice that he made and so two to see him accomplish his goal. And get a multi year deal with the raptors out courage anybody the raptors put it up on their twitter feeds. You can go watch it but the kid breaks down crying and it is. It's it's it's very very very touching to watch it. And i love the stories like that for sure now because i watch the raptors. There's somebody who is wayne right and you go look it up and you're like oh man. What an unbelievable story you know. Sometimes you forget there's only there's only five hundred of these jobs curve. Yeah right now. It's only five hundred not many not many at all in the nba. That's for damn sure. Yeah i mean. The truth is chris. I mean when we talk about the nba and we say like a guy. Struggles for sucks down. None of these guys suck absolutely. They are the best of the best in the world. Yes kinda stinks. What does suck. Kevin is jalen green. Had to go out with a hamstring songs had to go out with a hand injury. Obviously we lost giddy right at the very beginning. What six minutes in two summer league. And so here's a knock on wood and hoping that we don't see more of these and that none of these become something more than what they are Because one of the great things getting to see all of these outstanding prospects and you know at least we get see some jalen green and we certainly got to see a lot of jalen. We didn't see nothing. I mean josh gattis. I play who is australian. Lord knows i have gotten enough tweets from my australian brethren for lumping him in with euros. I'm sorry i didn't mean to. It was a mistake. I said i said because when we were talking about i said tuesday i don't i don't recall that i said a couple of the euro guys and i loved him in with somebody else. Oh okay eric heads you've probably has been an international. Yes that's what i met. I don't recall. I don't recall the boy australian brethren who i love. I love australia So we didn't get to see much giddy. We only got six minutes of him. But you got see your poison gounon. Pardon me mazing loved it. When he saw him in person. I saw you. Was it a video you took. I put up an instagram story house in full on split. What does he do he did that for. Like two or three minutes straight. Just a full-on split on the sideline for checking into the game. He still days off that he's showing he. He made me feel so inadequate curse. Yes you don't need to do that kind of stretching. I think my body would break. If i tried to straps like that. You would certainly pop a hamstring one hundred percent question. He's maybe a full-on tear. It's a red flag to me. It's red flag goes beyond that. Because if you're on the sideline doing the full splits and whatever come on let me offer. Let me offer a counter argument. We put on a show way. Offer a counter argument. Here's no shame talking to the ball is no shame doing a full on the sideline. It's a positive that you're not worried about what people think and on the court he's always going to do what it takes to win games even if it doesn't look pretty. That's my argument chris. He's gonna go forward and do it so your first impression. Obviously you have a worshiped. This man on youtube dot com. Getting to see him in person. You were you were smitten. He's a the one thing i'll say is like he is an under sized big then like moving laterally. He still needs to improve. But would that said. I'm impressed by his positional defense. I think he said countless plays where he's just like in the right place at the right time and affecting the play by the offense and never mind some of the place he makes on offense. He had that deep three. He had that pass at highlight left-handed bounce pass where he put english on the ball. He his his feel has skill level on. Offense is so rare for his age. I i have a hard time. It's like you said the other day you tweeted out. You have a hard time imagining. There'll be four players better jalen so i had a hard time imagining. There will be fifteen players better than alpha ranch engen. I a hard time imagining that. Chris is too much scale too much scale. You are smitten. I'm glad that he confirmed what you thought about him. That's his class and It's good we saw garuba. Yesterday i was at the arena for that josh christopher and obviously jalen green yep they've all had some moments they've all had some moments generous.

So we'll <Speech_Male> see what happens <SpeakerChange> there. <Speech_Male> Wow <Speech_Male> curse done was <Speech_Male> on all <Speech_Male> the mock drafts <Speech_Male> for the <SpeakerChange> celtics. <Speech_Male> The year of jalen <Speech_Male> brown ahead of jaylen <Speech_Male> brown never <Speech_Male> that had jaylen brown. <Speech_Male> I know i <Speech_Male> know celtics fans don't <Speech_Male> like to hear it but j. <Speech_Male> jaylen brown pickles <Speech_Male> booed. I was in the <Speech_Male> arena. That night when it happened. <Speech_Male> <hes> a <Speech_Male> lot of people wanted chris <Speech_Male> done but more so than <Speech_Male> chris done <Speech_Male> what they actually <Speech_Male> booing was <Speech_Male> the fact that <Speech_Male> the jimmy butler deal <Speech_Male> wasn't going to happen <Speech_Male> like it wasn't a boo <Speech_Male> against the jaylen <Speech_Male> brown pick. <Speech_Male> It was a boo <Speech_Male> because of the jaylen brown <Speech_Male> pick meant they weren't <Speech_Male> getting jimmy baller <Speech_Male> and so it was just a disappointment <Speech_Male> about that <Speech_Male> but ultimately like that <Speech_Male> doesn't that show you <Speech_Male> would the draft sometime. <Speech_Male> Never know <Speech_Male> you never know how <Speech_Male> players are going to pan out <Speech_Male> and even today <Speech_Male> jalen brown is <Speech_Male> twenty five <SpeakerChange> point <Speech_Male> game score <Speech_Male> even today. "Yeah okay. that's okay with being right well and drag it. We'll see what happens in an precious ahead to go back to toronto as well. So we'll see what happens with them with losing a couple of guys. But i mean all in all you look at their roster and if i'm throwing out and let's say i have rabid as my fifth guy or hero was my fifth guy. Whatever but i'm throwing out there kyle. Our jimmy butler. Pj tucker and bam a baio. I mean good luck. You mean look you might win but you'll be beat up and it's not gonna be fun. I mean that's guy rottweilers teams going to be to beat the brooklyn nets. You know with whatever like looking ahead to the playoffs like playoff series so hard to project right now. These rosters aren't done. They'll be more moves made this off season they'll be moot More moves made during the season but like this heat team. It's a given that. They will be tough. They wanna series or they lose them five or six. This team is built on top to bottom to be a tough out and like that. Kyle lowry jimmy butler back court. I would assume like team. Chemistry is going to be at a high level too with those two guys. They're bff's so. Kyle lowry jimmy. Butler playing together That's gonna add some nice balance that he'd offense to instead of always needing butler to be an initiator sometimes maybe he can be a finisher only that like we could see with bam a bile having the ability to handle the ball and create the way he does. There's some room for some real position as basketball hair with the heat with leasing lowry as a screener. Baller as the screener. You know guy guys being interchangeable in different positions on the floor. The heat could suddenly be look from a stagnant offense at times in the half court so a pretty dynamic one just because of the peace and kyle lowry that was added. So we talk about these teams moving the needle and of course they were. They were in the finals. Two years ago took a big step backwards last year and was not a great teaser. But now they're right back in it and they're certainly going to be on the list of legitimate title contenders after. What took place yesterday not legitimate title contender. But certainly a lot. More fun to flip on. Throughout the season is going to be the chicago bulls who went and added lonzo ball and they added alex caruso really without sacrificing anything that mattered to me et cetera and ski gear temple a pick..

"No dead dead. This is hilarious. The three draft picks came into my studio. It was a sheep to beat damara carol and samyong those are the three guys at samyong and damara. Carol were absolute dogs as you know right when they were in college and they were like i mean they're they're pit bull guys right and you should have seen their faces. When i'm sitting there saying i did not want them to take you there. Like god damn and beat was like. Oh everybody's entitled their opinion. And i'm just happy to be here and i'm like oh no oh no you selling that. The beat quote reminds me of the thing jalen suggs said earlier today. Said you know the ones who pass me up and take another prospect. It's gonna come back to their detriment. You can look at my track record. What i love on where of been always one the highest level like he's saying teams are going to regret it already for passing on him and he actually brought up a pretty interesting point that you know a couple of people from team said to me over the recent months. He's like. I've never been a fulltime basketball player yet because he played football in high school. He's a student in college. He's like this is my first time to be a full time basketball player and work on my skills and i mean it's a fair point. It's a fair point. There's only so much time in a day that you can dedicate on the court now has all of it. He is a freakish athlete in the ncaa tournament when he blocked that shot at the rim and then went the other way and through the full court bounce pass. That's like i mean that's next level. Top one percent of athletes stuff and i would encourage anybody 'cause i am. I'm higher on songs. That most people and i know he's in the top five but like he just has not gotten great. Pr and all of this. And i do think he's gonna get passed up. I love him and.

"Kevin o'connor kevin o. Palmer kevin o. Concert given oh camera kevin o. Climber aka kevin o. canvas. Kevin oh candy lane. Kevin killian jabber. What's going on buddy. Well as we are recording this on a tuesday night a little extra lag time in the nba finals with them having an extra day off little. Did we know that there would be news break on a tuesday night and it was big news because one of the superstars of the game quiet. Leonard had an injury that kept him out of the playoffs. All of the details about his injury were rather murky. We in fact goofed about it a few weeks ago and then it comes out. Tonight that had a partial tear of his acl that required surgery and that he has already underwent surgery for the partially torn. Acl which is a very long recovery kevin so we got a lot to sift through with this when he saw that news. Come across. What was your first reaction. If acl injury recovery is about nine months thou places return about april twenty twenty two which would be the start of the nba playoffs. So if go. I signs the clippers. Or if he goes somewhere else his return might not be the start of the postseason. And if the clippers do get kawhi leonard back. I would think on something either. You know one and one. Maybe he opts out of his player option for next season then signs a one plus one that way he could become a free agent again. Twenty twenty two if you wanted to or opt in again. But if he were to do that. It's going to be a situation where the clippers are going to have a full season without kawhi leonard guarantee. They need to make the playoffs. They might be in the plane. So i mean it's insane the ripple effects here for the clippers and the short term and the long term. 'cause who knows what's gonna do who knows when he'll be back and we know with him chorus he's going to be super super conservative with his comeback. He very well might just missed the entire season knowing his history with injuries while especially because he'll be thirty one years old right thirty one years old with a history of injuries. And i think maybe dependent upon. And i know this is. This isn't the fun way to talk about this. But dependent upon how much of the bag gets secured as they say because kuwa- leonard has a very interesting situation leading into this offseason. He can become a free agent if he declines his thirty. Six million dollar option. He can re-sign with the clippers for four years for one hundred and seventy five million or he could also as you mentioned signed a one year deal and then next year he would be eligible for a two hundred forty six million dollar contract. And that's because he's only been with the clippers for two years so i don't have his bird rights right now. One more season would give them his bird rights which would allow them to sign him to a five-year max contract. Which is why the big differential and the finances there. Yeah and so if you are the clippers and the thirty one or watching a thirty. Six year. Old at times be the best player in the nba finals. So it's not out of the realm of possibility that we get.

"Up a luca to orlando. That's lucas guy kevin clark. It seemed like everybody was going to be getting seemed like all the articles originally were like a riccar allows gone. Jomo's is going to get that job but then you at io pied that maybe rick carlisle was going out there. you know. maybe he didn't feel necessarily stood by a completely with all of the stories that had come out About the baz. Because we had wondered aloud like one is the last time that you saw coach leaving and stumping for who should get the job and it wasn't he didn't stump for jamal moseley. He walked out the door. It said i think jason kidd should get ten job. It's like are still. It's still so odd. How he did that. It's still really odd. Well volvos he got a job at for all so he didn't not yet officially just donges emerges as they strong front runner according to loge see i thought they were gonna hire keniakin but now it sounds like going to the warriors as lead assistance. Yeah so it's an interesting spot for him to be. Because i mean like you know who knows if curl be there for three more years or ten more years. But if you're in that lead assistant spot i wonder if he could slide into that someday. Who knows maybe. I mean or is it like you know like a coaching car wash. Is that golden state. It used to be san antonio a golden state. Now we're now kenny. Kenny atkinson goes to golden state becomes more appealing for the next head. Coaching job next season. Maybe but i think if. I'm not mistaken luke's the only one right luke. Walton is the only one that's got more. Nobody's hired mike brown off that staff right. I mean i think my brown is just coach. Who was he coach nigeria. I was watching it this weekend in those olympic trials. I think i think my brown was coaching nigeria. Or one of those teams. But nobody's and he was what like. When would kerr had that back injury. He had he was. He was winning all the way through to. And i guess people just thought anybody can stand on the sidelines and win a bunch. Because luke wanna a bunch. Mike brown water. Bunch steve kerr. Obviously what a bunch. But i don't know. I'll tell you what though kenny atkinson is a good higher because before he was head coach of the nets what people love. The him was his player development. And for the warriors. Here you get some younger guys who are anita in need of development kenny. Atkinson might be able to help them along in that category. I thought he'd get the magic job. Yeah that sense yeah. I thought i thought. I thought it was just natural. We talked about kind of building the culture with a young team in brooklyn which he did in maybe it. Maybe moseley can do that too. He comes highly regarded. Luca loved him. Carlisle car by some of the players. Saying younger guys..

"Floor by a wide margin for sure. And i think that part. You know the fact chris. Paul was as dominant as he was and devon booker. I know we take out the ten free throws for a second. He's still only eight for twenty one from the field. One of eight from three. The sons are going to get a big devon booker game or two or three the rest of the way and i think you know devon booker in that first half. He had multiple possessions through the first quarter. Second quarter where he got by brook lopez. He got by. Chris middleton he got by whoever was in front of him except for jrue holiday and at some point. That's going to translate into more buckets. That aren't free throws. And i think for the bucks is a real challenge here. I mean the the drop pick and roll coverage didn't work the switching pick and roll coverage. Didn't work do you hedge the blitz. Do you get more a little bit more aggressive. Do you just switch it up more. Do you not switch the brook. Lopez switch one through four. I for i think the bucks do have some answers. Chris but the suns are really really really hard problem solve though but just because of the amount of ways they can. Beat you. And i think the point. You brought up earlier about the lack of bench. Enzo which means you gotta go to forbes you gotta go to teague. That hurts a lot like that really does. Even though it's only ten twelve thirteen minutes per game those guys are going to get picked on and if you have to go to them more than that because you're not playing brook lopez for twenty five thirty. I i don't know. I don't know what the answer is there for the bugs except riding on the five even longer than you do and it's crazy booker ended up because early in that game. I thought oh boy. This is going to be a booker. Thought he had double digits quick And so he must have and they holiday did match up with him a lot. You know tonight and so now you know on those. Do you say all right. We're willing to just a booker. Kills booker kills us. But we've got to drew's. Just gotta be on chris. End of story. You know i don't we don't have the tracking stats yet. But i look forward to looking up. What percentage of curse. Paul's points came against somebody not named your holiday. Yeah it's gotta be like ninety percent. I mean it's really high. Might not like it might be. I don't know what it is. It's a lot when there were some of them where he was like he was coming down the court and they had like say like content would pick him up and i mean he just dribbled straight into like a twenty footer. Like he's been in the league for a hundred years like you know you gotta crowd him like make him drive on you. What you can't do is just let him to dribble pull up right in your face face. This is ridiculous and so yeah but it is a pick your poison thing and they did a great job on booker but they got demolished by paul and so it feels like. There's a lot of those choices. That booed holes are that we're going to have to figure out in this. Let me tell you something about booker. You're gonna love this story. So and i'm going to be a little bit i i'm not. I'm not ashamed of this. But i i was shocked to learn so when i was a kid as you know old but when i was a kid we had moved to saint louis so i i lived in st louis growing up and we didn't have an nba team. Everybody loved michael jordan and whatever and college was only big only heard get talked about a lot when it was missouri and then doing really well or was saint louis university and then doing really well. It's like a big city. It's probably like not unlike where you grew up right because you grew up at boston. That's not a college sports town. It's a pro sports the only time. I can remember really seeing a lot of boston. College basketball jared dudley days when they face his great duke teams. Jj redick back on jayjay. So even though i lived there my favorite team was memphis state and penny because my father had gone to memphis and so my dad's still kept up with memphis basketball but anyway like any kid when something becomes like really popular all the kids get into it. You start route for so if the team started going to the tournament. So saint louis had this guy named erwin claggett. And so when you're playing out back with all your friends you know people would pull their socks. He wore socks up. So you'd act like erwin claggett. Whatever but missouri dare star and. This is early nineties k. Like maybe like ninety one ninety two nine hundred. Whatever i was i was in. I was still juvenile. Their big star that we used to act like in the backyard was a guy who ended up becoming big eight player of the year. Which is now the big twelve. Melvin booker. i didn't find out until two days ago. Oh no vin. Booker is devon. Booker's death i we i saw i i keep up with these saint louis writers so i could keep up with the cardinals and i can keep up with the with the blues and i saw a standing columnist and saint louis benjamin hochman. He tweeted out. This article about melvin booker. And i'm like why are they. Talk about melvin booker. now. And i'm like no. It was like that as paul metairie dropping. The coffee glass moment. And i'm like melvin booker is devon booker's. I never ever put it together now. Never booker wouldn't be famous to a lot of people because very short amount of time in the nba. Went really was an overseas basketball player. But i will tell you for a kid that grew up. It's a louis those missouri teams when he's the conference of the year. No i acted. Like i was melvin. Booker my driveway. 'cause melva booker was unbelievable as a college basketball does it. Look like devon booker imitating. Melvin book around the court i style. It's all happened so fast. How about this. So i'm telling this story today at two my buddy. He looks up. Melvin booker on like youtube or something right. Just like he finds him play in a pro-am couple weeks ago. Demolishing people there like this guy is still getting buckets. Melva booker so as the story goes so of course deep dove into it so devon booker's bomb and and melvin never got married. Her name is Gutierrez so i guess he could be theoretically devon gutierrez but he. His father was playing overseas and his father was going to sign another contract. This is not unlike the mirant deal but he decided he moved back and so he was a big high school player mississippi. He went back to his town to his old high school. They were living in michigan. And he convinces mom to bring devon down to mississippi. And he's going to help you. Know put come advance in basketball by and he plays at his dad's high school by senior years average. Thirty points a game as you know. He goes to kentucky. The rest is all history. But it's really a crazy story. And i'm here to tell you that melvin booker was frigging awesome and i had no no idea. Did that was devas-. Maybe i would have been way bigger fan all these years. If i had not his dad was. But i was afraid.

"A record of blankety blank. And seventeen and thirty six in the play offs. And i mean it's just it's humiliating as it gets right. It would be like if they broke us up and they were like. Yeah and we're parting. Wave spotify sense of that. They're like we're spending ways with curse kevin because they only had two hundred and fifty listeners. Ep like god like why don't even have to include that like we. Just let me go to humiliate me to tell. Everybody remind everybody you know what i mean. So here's this guy who is let go one. Thank you to those two hundred. Two hundred fifty. We love you all ed. So he gets his opportunity as you know. They weren't responding to lloyd peers. They had some injuries and whatever and he takes over he doesn't unbelievable job with atlanta. Meanwhile indiana hired. Their grass is greener coach. Only to fire him. We played a year. And it's just kinda crazy. I mean if you go back year you know what what. People think about nate mcmillan. They thought he's three and sixteen in the playoffs. They don't even when they get swept they don't even win. Games off survey as in me was frustrated that everybody in our case. Sometimes like where's the three pointers for turner about stuff like that. But you know what he's done with. Atlanta is remarkable. And the fact they are even here the fact that macmillan even helped get them here to eastern conference. Finals really blows my mind. But i'll tell you what with hawks bucks here. I wonder if this is where their locker runs out. Because from a matchup standpoint they loved using that lineup against philli with gallo capella in collins on their front court. I'm not sure you're going to be able to do that against the bucks team like you're going to have a hard time stopping. Chris middleton. That's where my concern is here. How do you contain. Khris middleton with kevin herder you know with with a limping bogdan bogdonovich. 'cause not having the andrea hunter or even cam radish for that matter. Those guys would have been a big benefit to have against middleton. I don't know if they have the bodies four this series but you can't rule them out though because of the fact they're here considering the fact that continue to find answers and battle back from adversity winning tough games on the road..

"But that's the thing like when embiid is off the floor you have to find a way to maximize value out of ben simmons. You have to find a way because what we're finding out here. Drill bead was an mvp candidate for a reason. He is one of the game's best players for a reason but he is not tim. Duncan he's not dirk not this guy who's durable and always there. You can't always rely joel to give you peak. Joel embiid performance. So would that said. Chris he needs somebody by his side. Who can do that with ben simmons. Some of his own limitations has own stubbornness unwillingness to switch hands. Despite having a former shooting. Coach tried to have them despite having his former teammate. Jj redick suggests that he should do it. Despite the fact that every sixers fan in the world knows he shoots the wrong hand. Part of it stubbornness part of it is also role situation. He hasn't had a guard. Who can draw defenders away from the paint to your point in that clip. We're talking about and also. He has a head coach that runs a lot of pick and roll ground in run much of it. In doc rivers isn't doing a lot of it with them. My point is here. Is you gotta find a way to give value out of hand. So try something a little bit more frequently. Here's the problem when it gets to this point though if he can't shoot and he can't make free throws now i'm just fallon. You go ahead touchdown. The ball is rolling out lame but dr. I'm gonna foul you every time now. How you scoring. He wouldn't take four field goals last night. It's not always about putting it in a position. Pro johnson four shots. Chris when you set a screen role to the rim. You don't always receive the ball. That's not the screening. Enrolling is sometimes about just the gravity causing defenders into the paint to open up a shooter away from the ball and they've got one shooter kevin they they have guys who can hit shop like tobias. Harris hit sean. He's saying she he would hit shots off the dribble. They have to do it more. And i think it's a shame that we haven't seen it all these years. They do need. They need some more. It's actually a shame. Should more shooters that they got. A danny green hurts just in terms of what you were talking about. The gravity talk about dream on. Green is a hall of famer chris because of what he brings on offense because he's paired with steph curry their their their skills complement each other perfectly. Draymond green is zero as shooter. An absolute zero though. That's what i'm saying. Charges point earlier was been simmons with the bench unit. Instead of dwight howard had him play the five us this dynamic center who can run your offense for route being offensive. How around the elbows. Who can set screens and role to the rim. How they're not doing that. I don't get it baffles. My mind i have been waiting for for years and i've just about given up on ever seeing it well and there is a huge story and i hate this for hawks. Fan 'cause the huge story is the seventy sixers collapse but the collapse always has two sides and the heart. Did the frigging hawks. Show when you when you're down twenty six and you just. They always say one possession time. Keep chipping away. Keep chipping away and nate. Mcmillan has got those guys believe in and play in it out even when they've gotten in these big deficits they play it out right because twenty-six that can easily just start at thirty six. That forty six. Then you look up at the end you've just gotten stomped and guys just go is what our night i mean. They made everything embiid came out. You know going crazy made his first the ten of eleven shots so it's just not our night but we'll get him back when we go back to atlanta and not necessarily packet in but you know the circumstances die your and you might play that way or you get crazy and everybody starts trying to do with themselves and trying to hit the ten point shots and then it really gets worse for you. This team just keeps doing what they do. They got guys. Have this crazy confidence. You know this was bogdonovich. Trae williams moment. It was not just train. Donald starting lineup lou williams off the bench. They have a bunch of guys who have no conscience unafraid to take big john. Williams is been playoff disaster. Lou williams so many times over the years in the other night. No he's outrageously great and they just keep on plugging away plugging away plugging away next thing. You know they ended up winning that game. And now you've got a team in philly you know maybe it's going to be back against the wall. Okay now really. we're gonna play it out. Leo you play like a game seven because it's got to be a game seven two you only play seven or eight guys. You're not running out even full bench units you know that thing that rotation gets tight and guys just have to play. Huge minutes thing is can they. Can they hold up for a huge minute. Because he even said last night he put him back in with ten minutes left not wanting to he did not want to put the starting unit back in with ten minutes left but he was forced to like. That's a. That's a doc. Said i had to you know and then of course people asked him about the ben simmons. Four for fourteen from the free throw line. He was like like they asked him like did. Did you feel like you had to pull them because of the freezer situation and he was like. I mean your doc. That's that's what being a nice guy generally is like even becomes very difficult like broke. What do you think yes. I had to take him out. Because he's four four t for the free throw line and we dribble the ball past half. They run to start slapping his arms so that he asked to go take more free throws if he can hit them. I'll fight him. But like this can't be do hack a ban and us just be you know an innocent bystander toward demise and that was kind of the situation so you've got a huge collapse out of him at the free throw line and then you've got a huge collapse out of emptied. I really felt like there was a lot more slander about simmons and the four fourteen for the free throw line and only taken for field goals and all that crap then there was about embiid and i think it was wash. Shouldn't there be some beads hurt because originally when he won in the last seconds through a partially torn meniscus understands even playing is a testament to his attitude and his tough. I understand beat is one of the toughest players in the league. But he's three for twenty one in the second part i understand. That's that's why this is going the way it is going in the second half. It's all ben simmons and that sense if you're putting if you're pointing blame one of the two stars like it's one hundred one hundred one hundred fingers should be pointing at ben. Simmons embiid has hurt that he can. I can't fault him at all. It's unfortunate that their durability is a problem for him it's unfortunate. The injuries have been part of his story. But that's the way it is some guys. Don't stay healthy. Ben simmons you know it's partially system is fit. It's partially his own choices. And it's just the fact that the right now. I don't even think it's just the hand in this thing. I think so much of it is happening between the years. He looks spooked the line. He looks scared. He looked so terrified. He's up there at the line i like. He oftentimes like you can almost read it with ben simmons. Now it'd be like body language. Dr look like bill simmons. Sometimes but you you. Sometimes he has fire in his eyes. You can see killer and ben simmons. When he's at a free throw line he looks like a toddler. It's sad to watch sometimes like in that other game and for him. I hope like he is going to commit. And do everything possible. This offseason to prevent.

"You don't necessarily need that but you gotta have somebody who can step into that role and do it. At a high level andrew holiday has never been that guy. He's always been at his best when he's sharing the back court with another guy who takes on those responsibilities primarily so he can do what he does best focusing defense and also being a spot up shooter cutting to the rim in attacking secondary guys off the dribble and in this situation. He doesn't necessarily get those chances quite as much. There's almost too much on his plate but that's to your point. I mean sure would have been nice to see a higher level to his game but if anything. He's just looked worse with interest. I've never really thought about this but you know how you know who else. Who has you get the best out of them under those circumstances is the guy he's not playing because he got hurt is the guy across from inquiry. Yeah right the. Maybe you're miscast is being the guy that's got to run everything you know. And it's not like he does run everything i don't know but i'm saying like you're the guy daddy he runs enough. You bring the ball your the majority of the time bright and you want more from him and he said look. He said seventeen thirteen nine fourteen. Nineteen those are the numbers in these games every so he had twenty point game in the series yet. This is the biggest one tonight which was nineteen the end up four sixteen. He's gone to the free throw line five times in the series five better by against the against the team with no rim protection. Better bryn mawr. Game six batum saying like i think. This guy's a gamer. I think he's a player. And it's like i mean. Look if argued anybody. Thirty seven to forty five minutes. They're giving me fourteen point. You play anybody in the league replacement level stuff if i'm playing to forty minutes journal..

Redick: Pels, Griffin didn't honor word with trade

"Jj redick longtime veteran fifteen years in the leak. Good player not great good. Though he requested a trade from new orleans pelicans in november and asked them to send them somewhere one he was up. You know not upset but hey drew's gone through holiday. That was a big part of why i came here. And you know. I would like to be close to my family in brooklyn close enough where i can go see him on off days things like that. They told him. Bet you got it. And of course they trade him to dallas so he's upset because he says they didn't keep their word. Here's jj reading on his own podcast. My understanding all along was that. I was going to get a buy out. And if i was going to be traded it was going to be to a team in the northeast where i was closer to home and i'd be able to see my family for the last two or three months of the season obvious that didn't happen. I don't think you're gonna get honesty from that front office. Just objectively speaking. I don't that's not an opinion. i just don't think you're going to get that. But i think i was a little naive in thinking that because i was in year fifteen and you know i had at least attempt to do things right throughout my career and i honored my end of the bargain but in terms of this front office. Yeah i mean. It's it's not something where i would expect. Certainly the agents that that worked on this with me to ever to ever trust that front office again.

"Shock down to six cross sports. Stott sixers danny. Green choir for three quarters go daddy. Great knocked down his eighty three in the game. The sixers were kind of squandering. The possession for a moment finally bikes to the corner and danny green. With what else corner pre. That's what it sounded like. Ninety seven five the fanatic as the sixers beat the lakers. Nine one zero. One the lakers. Just keep taking a elle's right now. No lebron no ad. But the sixers win was propelled by danny green eight. Ben Simmons, Jared Dudley And Joel Embiid discussed on Golic & Wingo

"Twenty. Let's talk about what happened last night. And Ben Simmons heard everything even though he said he didn't Jared Dudley. Call them out said he was averaging half court set. So Ben Simmons goes for thirty one points and goes eleven of thirteen I believe from the floor mostly that in a half court set as the Sixers without Joel Embiid. Take care of the nets in Brooklyn. Yes. Knee-injury knee soreness in that needed it in bothering him for a lot of the latter portion of the season kept Joel Embiid off the course court last night. And a lot of people wondered if Bogan and Greg Monroe would be able to their it turns out that when Ben Simmons goes nine eleven in the half court Tobias Harris goes six of six from beyond the arkan- JJ Redick. Twenty six points. You really don't much more than that. No. I mean, listen they space without 'em in the middle of that. Ben Simmons could run as Gina was with us earlier saying kind of the point center position in the pink. That's where he scores, and as we've talked about when that guy if and when that guy can get a jumper, a mid range shot Cy jumper of just what he can be. Because he absolutely tore them up on the inside as he does we mentioned eleven to thirteen nine of eleven in those half court set. So what he's able to do. But to your point is well, Mike, you can't expect vice hairs to go six for six from three point land. And Embiid with that shaky ne- not so much in this round. But going forward of where they wanted to go and what they can do. And I guess the other part of this is Ben Simmons who denies that. He heard anything in this race. It makes it very clear that they hear everything on most of these -cations. He did come out with different edge. It was noticeable the energy this guy came onto the court with and that translated on the defensive end where he can be a nightmare because of his size and length and it translated clearly in the half court offense area. He was criticized. So as is the parlance of our time dude got to keep that same energy because Brown. I'm sure is looking at all these guys saying this is what we can be. This is the team that everyone identified before the year started as one that could represent the east in the finals, and when they play like that it's possible. And when they play like we've seen early in the series where it's inconsistent at times, a lack of attention to detail day can also fall in the first round. Absolutely. So Simmons went off. Again, Jared Dudley said he was average in half court sets. There was a missing poster mocking Simmons jump shot on a street sign outside the Barclay center, offering twenty six million dollar award, obviously that was his rookie contract. So clearly, Ben from an Australian reporter mind, you Ben was born in Australia was asked. About all of this leading into the game. Been coming into a building. What Jared said everything that went on this way? But it was a very loud booting, very hostile environment. What's to come into someone these walk away with the victory? Try not to pay too much attention to what's going on social media. And what people say just because people say what they wanna say. And I can't let that affect me on the floor. So I decided to my job step on the floor run the point guard position as best I castle. So then do you think Jared Dudley? So thanks average corporate Donana where he'll be nice one time because all players who say, they don't listen don't here. They all do go back to the days of playing and taking the exact same thing. It'd be great to hear. So. Yeah, I heard what he said. And I I want if he's still thinks that now the great to hear him say something like that. Because like, yeah. Don't have problem with at his stat line from deadly two point for two for two with two turnovers on the night. Yeah. In seventeen minutes of action airball point gotta say gotta respect Jared Dudley for making the statement after a game to where he was deemed p coach's decision. He did not log a minute in game two. So to come out and still have that criticism of Ben Simmons indicates level confidence. And also a guy that quite frankly worked for us for a little while who probably has some desire to be in the media, very got body for it, which is impressive. I don't mean that from a slight. I am sorry. Who is team dad Bod right now? So to see dad bought out there still bone in some respect is impressive. Absolutely. So that's what happened between the

"To five the fanatic boston wins doris burke called it on espn and watched his philly made turnover after turnover after over it's a theme that was one thing that haunted philly throughout the course of the year let's remember in the regular season this team turned it over to a greater degree than any other nba team all year in critical moments it looked to me all night as if boston was the more mature more disciplined team in critical moments you think about a rare turnover from jj redick where he looked like he was going to give it right back to ben simmons that doesn't happen there their failure to execute down the stretch and it's so interesting because going all the way back to november i had a private conversation with jj radic and he said doris if we figure out the turnover situations we're going to be a very tough team to be you wonder if this is just a step they've gotta get past to to have more success in the future in the playoffs because it's haunted him all year and now this young philadelphia seventy six or team is one loss away potentially one game away from having their wonderful season it come to an.
