I guess a bread. Correct me if I'm wrong I think it was during the Australian Open and all of a sudden. He says you know. Why don't we sit down and talk a little bit about gambling and which is starting to come into tennis now a little bit, and and start talking about the Australian Open and the odds. And who do you think's going to win? WHO's a Dr Cars and We kinda sat down and talked about it and filmed it a little bit and You know came up with You know a pretty good project so You know it's fun. It's fun for me, but To do, but it's more fun than I. Get to do it with Brad. and he, he's on his own down in San, in Santa Monica and and you know I. Don't get to see him as much as I'd like. This is kind of brought us together a little bit more and you know so I can see him, and and also you know. Hear his views because you know his time around tennis with you know his businesses in production and and and for tennis and. He watches more tennis than anybody, so he kind of keeps me up the day when I'm falling behind. Let me. Just jump in. I gotta ask you because I want to know what it was like not only growing up with Jimmy. Connors is your dad, but Illionis dos your godfather, because it sounds cool shit, was it? Oh Yeah! I mean definitely cool. You know I think everybody knows. Those guys are all their antics on the court. And then the personality and the bad boy stuff, but you know to me growing up, he was just dad was just just my pops, and that was just uncle nasty, and I didn't even know why you know. His name was uncle nasty. Little bit older. but yeah man. I mean it's just It was great I had a kind of a privileged childhood growing up around all those guys able to travel them the part of the tour. And have that during my upbringing and I think you know it's benefited me and my career, doing stuff and tennis production and. Being able to do this with POPs. It's been really cool. Just because you know. He's Kinda, got the the old school on lockdown, and he knows all the old players and the old styles and everything, and then I'm able to kind of. You know bring bring the new school and a little bit of what's going on day. I think it's a good mix. Listen I love this Jimmy I. Don't want this down. One loses point because I think that. When you say what you said about Brad I. Get this because I've got a couple of teenage sons right now, and I literally can't wait until they're old enough for me to throw back a couple with them. Because I know it's GonNa. Be Great Time now. That bread is a little bit older. What's it like to hang with him and then to collaborate on a project like this with your son? Hang I'm learning things. you know I'm. I've been kind of away for a while Jim and and You know to to get back into it and. You know get the feel of You know really a ten, not only just tennis, but you know the way things really are and and I I've kind of kept mostly to myself over the last number of years, and and enjoyed that, but you know hanging with Brat and you know I I'm not afraid to say it reg forty. And and you know time. Hey, that's okay. You know. Time has passed very quickly and. For me I look back and you know I was traveling an awful lot while he was growing up, and even though my family was able to come with me quite a bit i. Did Miss a little bit along the way and and So you know catching up and and figuring a lot of things out you know from now from then till now has been great, but you know breadth is He's modern, day, and in in more things than just tennis, and and You know to to sit down and talk with him and to get his views, and you know, get a different perspective in a in a different understanding of you know the way, a lot of things are and then so as you know, it's good for me because he keeps me up to date, and you know keeps my mind sharp, and you know with the being under quarantine. That's a that's been an important thing to try to find a way to keep busy, and he certainly has kept me busy. You know bread I can just tell the affinity and the love and. And the respect you guys have each other. It's very obvious like Brett one of my favorite topics. Is this whole notion of nature versus nurture like you said you had a privileged upbringing. POPs came up gritty e saint. Louis I'm kind of curious like your dad like Jimmy was running on some crazy rocket fuel his whole career like a bottle that stuff it'd be the best thing ever. Jimmy was so fierce I'm kind of curious we do you think that's nature or nurture for instance? When you came out, we hard wired the same way. How much of that bread is environment and culture like? Do you have that same fire on your God that he did? Yeah I mean I definitely think i. have some of it in me? I'm Super Competitive Do I grew up playing golfing and some tennis when I was younger. But I think I'd have to say. Maybe it's a little more I. Don't you know what I mean?.

Notion of nature versus nurture like you said you had a privileged upbringing pops came up gritty e Saint Louis I'm kind of curious like your dad. Do you think that's nature or nurture for instance? When you came out, you hardwired the same way much of that bread is environment and culture like same fire on your gut that he did. Yeah I. Mean I definitely think I have some of it in me. I'm super competitive. You know anything I. DO I mean I grew up playing golf and some tennis when I was younger. But I think I'd have to say. Maybe it's a little more. You know what I mean I think as being around him and. Absorbing his way of attacking things and looking at things the way you know how hard he worked and hardy practice and You know I used to go train with when when he was in the off season I go run these hills with them. When I was nine ten eleven years old. Make it halfway up the hill and he just keeps going leaves me with us. You know so I think it's a little bit of both, but you know I think. I picked up a lot of it just from being around him so much know I traveled a lot with them probably a lot more than most kids, my age or able to and you know I. Think some of the definitely rubbed off. Jimi you, of course, one hundred nine ATP events eight grand. Slams you a top player in the world, but you've been really clear about this that the best weeks of your entire career involve tournament didn't win. Of course that was ninety one US Open for those who do not know or remember the extraordinary circumstances Jimmy of those two weeks. Why were they the most memorable of your career? I think most of the the one thing that that really stands out from those two weeks him is. is the noise that the crowd made. and and that's that's what I wanted. My whole career is that the fans would. Would get into it like that like a hockey game or a baseball game or a football game or a basketball game, and just you know really really lose it, and and and get involved in and feel like they were down there playing and you know I played for over twenty years on the tour, and even though I was striving to to to try to get that throughout the course of those years I never really figured that I had found it in until those two weeks because the noise there.

"And if you want to send an email it is no rush ball the net dot US I want to for those of you watching on the dental campus also beat Rush Limbaugh dot com I want to show you a picture up close of the presidential medal of freedom that is that is it right there and it is gone I I I couldn't stop looking down at it the the whole time that I am that I'm wearing it clasps in the back it's just it's just beautiful Jimmy bread you have the other the black and white for we've we've also got one more photo to show you that will also be at Rush Limbaugh dot com and we're looking to get it there it is black and white picture from taken from below the second floor with the medal of honor in color and it's so fox is such a joyous occasion it was so unbelievable and something for which it not only me but my family will be eternally grateful for it's very very special moment indeed and thank again the president and his family vice president pants called after we left the capital and were on the way back to our super secret location and where we spent the rest of the week and one thing the yep you remember later in the evening there there was a a young mother and and hurt I think was two kids sitting just to the left of the First Lady and she was so we we met her she was in line in front of us for the photo with the First Lady at the White House before we all got the bus to go over to the capitol and she was so sweet and she she well I don't want to say she looks sad because I don't want to miss character riser she may not have been sad but she clearly is there with her kids are husband is way in Afghanistan she is in the gallery because he is going to be ready and she are going to be recognized she has no idea of the present has flown her husband back and he's waiting outside the doors to come down the steps and when the president announced that the I mean the place just erupted in her face lit up and her kids were the happiest you've ever seen a couple of kids sergeant Williams they came down the steps and he hugged his two kids and she was beside herself I mean this this this this call of the show if you will but it's it's our it's more than this is the kind of thing that has deep meaning to to people and the fought yeah the idea to do something like this to extend this kind of honor your people defending the country I maintain that this is another example of the essence of of trump in his administration and how he has an absolute bond of connection with the people responsible for making this country work and as we were as we were walking out I I met the sergeant Williams and post for a for a photo and I jokingly said I said you guys have a place to stay the night and I was wondering I she didn't know he was coming and so she she looked at me entry not it's it yeah we do that that moment when that was announced and he came bounding down those steps in the the login joy on his kids low heart melt city anyway let's go to the phones people been patiently waiting lining up since the program began we'll start with Elliott in Wilmette Illinois thanks Elian for holding on and welcome to the program hi thank you for taking my call rush my very very best wishes for you I'm very pleased to speak with you my question is to do with the state in the union show from the party we were in we could see from your surprise we can hear you saying yourself keep it together keep it together keep it together my question is about Nancy Pelosi and did you notice from where you were her pre tearing of the speech before she did so at the end yeah but I don't know what it was I saw I saw her I saw her pre tearing it and I I I I had no idea that it was because with that before Shinichi started or deer along during it and what then said it was it was it will do no no to the Democrats no it was it was before because clearly she didn't have the strength written from scratch so she had to get each page started in advance so that when she went to rip it up but that was before he started well all I don't know I think it was I think was after he started although I have to I have to say I only know that based on what I've seen since I didn't actually see her doing that the initial ramp during the state of the union speech now what what it all means for the Democrats I don't think I don't think this is complicated and I I wish I had some unique brand no you've never heard it before answer but you want to know what the impact of this is going to be on the Democrats it is going to be devastating I'm watching the media today I've watched the media the past couple of days they're trying to glaze over this debacle in night when they're trying to make it look even media that you think is friendly to us they're doing everything they can to salvage this because they need the viable opponents for ratings they need to be able to report that the Democrats have a chance to the Democrats are gaining ground on trump but folks the mistake that they have made from the beginning they continue to make it they are in capable of fixing this for what ever I'm not reasonable make no sense reasons they hate Donald Trump and they think everybody else does too there's no other reason to do this but will get everything they have tried has failed everything has blown up on him they are the epitome of why eek I already they are a laughing stock they are a joke out there across the fruited plain they're not a laughing stock or joke in the media because the media is invested in them once in awhile god wants them to win but I'm telling you ripping up state of the union speech that's chronicling and reporting on the greatness of the state of the union the improvements on the changes for the good for everybody that has happened there there there's no sizeable constituency out there that hates trump so much that they're going to applaud that the Democrat party makes the mistake of assuming that Twitter is national public opinion they make the mistake of assuming that Twitter represents a majority of their support Twitter represents maybe twenty percent of the thinking of this country and they'll never figure this out because the media allies to them in the media pumps them up and they literally sit there pelo see literally thinks that this country hates crop more and more every day and that **** while still this why pull a stunt like this if if if she thinks that it's going to harm the Democrats there's no reason to do it she obviously hang on obviously thinks is going to help and yes I think a great illustration of how totally out of touch they are and have been for four years and I'll tell you I don't think they have ever been close yes three four years whatever you however you wanna tab they've not been close to meeting their objectives on Donald Trump they have not been close to getting rid of him they've not been close to succeeding in impeachment they've not been close on this Russia business they have been embarrassingly off bent out of touch they have look mean spirited and ridiculous to a vast majority of normal Americans to whom their behavior doesn't make any sense of the Democrats have no way of knowing that seeing that this was a big debacle this all right what mass is right along the line with it I'm watching as I said watching the media well the Democrats have never name your Canada additional time here to work currently there would come on this is an embellishment what was the result of an page would get killed Joe Biden impeachment kill Joe Biden that's what impeachment impeachment took out Joe Biden Joe Biden finishes fourth Biden is finished Biden was never going to win this thing I'm telling you how many times but I tell you in June may two thousand nineteen ABC does that story reporting on vitamin is Kip hunter had told you they're trying to take him out white is not going to be the nominee and they don't want to be crazy Bernie how about the the the des Moines register poll the night before the horned god call guy they don't release it claiming some kinda snafu the snafu wise they gonna like the result these people I think are the ones that manipulate vote counts not trump these are the people that partnered with Russia will Hillary Clinton did with all of that and and no matter what they try it blows up in their face but go back the last week the last two weeks the last month what have you heard in the drive by media Joe Biden leading by a landslide slam dunk Joe Biden leading in Iowa Joe Biden wins and I we're going to clear the decks in New Hampshire Joe Biden comes in fourth place in Iowa meanwhile trunks got is headline acquitted trump acquitted how stupid are they knew this was going to be the result they know trump was going to be acquitted and yet they went ahead with this anyway why because they think everybody hates trop the big mistake they make they think they represent a majority majority of thinking in this country they think that why call liberalism slash socialism slash communism is the majority thinking in this country it's not even close but they think they've got a hold their base together so I think I think that's what policy ripping up the speed plus total frustration trump was acquitted made her look like a political novice when she supposedly is the dean Washington politicians anyway I appreciate the call this is Elizabeth in Columbus Ohio you're next it's great to have you high Hey rush it's good to hear you on the radio thank you Sir I'm a I'm I'm sorry I'm no problem my question for you is I wonder what you think what lesson he thinks the Republican leadership are learning from watching the democratic implosion well if you look at the Republican party's pretty unified behind trump whoa whoa I think you may have the benefit of not being in the spotlight but you know the rise of trump was really because I don't think on both sides Republican and Democrat there is a large portion of people that feel very frustrated with not being heard and you know I think that's what led to trump winning the Republican nomination you know he wasn't there guy stand Republican base put him in there almost as a in a referendum I think in some ways against the Republican leadership no question about it benefits what so what has they learned from that and from watching the Democrats try to deal with the same inner divisions in their party and and how are they gonna take that one's trump is I'll I don't I don't know for sure I don't know for sure what they've learned but I'll tell you what they should a learned they should've went they look at trump's approval rating look at the economy has the highest approval rating ever trump's approval rating is present after all of this Elizabeth after all this impeachment after all of the Mahler investigation which was a perjury trap after all a Russian stuff after all trump's approval rating is at an all time high and I think one of the lessons that I see being worn by a whole lot of Republicans is they don't have to be afraid of the media anymore if Donald Trump is demonstrating one thing is you don't have to be afraid of what the media says about you you can win if you simply couldn't act with the majority the American people in trump did any connected with the majority of American people because but check we are Republicans are fed up they've been lied to campaign after campaign after campaign candidates are promising to watch one Z. year after year after year got elected it doesn't happen thank you you're sure that matter traded or health care you name it trump comes along and he is not one of those people he is by definition an outsider who was already well known as established an identity with people in his other businesses and he has the unique ability to speak publicly in be believed people take him seriously they believe he means what he says that is going to do what he's going to do what he does it and they've.

So Mr. coconut is who is running in northern New Mexico as Republican he said, quote, I appreciate the opportunity meet with mister O'Connell who agrees with my message of United new Mexicans, regardless of party affiliation. To address critical issues at The Trump campaign believes many Democrats are becoming frustrated at the relentless attacks against Republicans, which are keeping us from resolving issues that mainly matter here at home. Now, Mr. coconut is who announced his candidacy last month is in Washington DC DC this week. To network with potential US house colleagues and advisors. Then it goes on to say hit the ground running. I don't know. I, you know, I'm democrat. I don't put myself in that category. At all. Any Democrats out there that agree with Bret do your fed up, and your you have buyer's remorse over the Blue Wave came into power last November. You really sad that the Democrats have controlled the house now. You really, you know, you really hate the fact that. Congressman Cummings as head of the house oversight committee or that congressman Nadler is head of the House Judiciary committee. You'd rather see it all in control the Republicans. Anybody feel that way? Any Democrats buyer's remorse that the Democrats win the house? Democrats have control of the. Governorship in New Mexico. And the state land commission. And. The legislature New Mexico. Anybody sad about that. Any conservatives of like, yeah. Go Brett go. Three weeks ago is the democrat. Changes party running. I mean, you know, Brad, you want to come on the show. You know, I'll ask you the very same questions to your face. Are you an opportunist? Do you actually believe? That people in New Mexico were better under Republican governors Susanna Martinez or under the leadership of speaker on trip. Or that we were better off with them. A secretary of education. Appointed by. Suzanna martinez. A where you're better off with zero mental and behavioral healthcare to Mexico. Anyway, he's meeting with Republicans in in Washington DC. I'm sure looking for money. Trying to sell to Republican donors in in DC. Yeah. Let me we will take back. We can flip one seat from blue to red. I have a legitimate chance in northern New Mexico. "I can put some lotion on my elbows and do whatever the fuck. It is. I mean, I'm not gonna stop eating bread. 'cause not eating bread is not gonna make ready for Jimmy bread. So good. You know doesn't agree with me anymore. But she said over and over like what I did was fucking crazy. And I'll be damned if I push myself. On you. Especially a lot. No everybody else gusts. Max these kids got everybody is eating up filling. Bits on. No you own -gree blues. What's wrong with you? You can handle sugar. You can't handle cars. You can have no fiber. Because somebody has. Come Coachella is going to be worth it. So. Peanut. And that's you know, that's beyond say putting all that stress on herself in in, you know, pushing herself she's right? It is. It's like, I certainly don't encourage anybody else to go through and do not crazy shit like that unless you just want it to be a vegan real bad. But even vegans should. So I just was like cyz. But you know, don't understand because that pregnancy really did a number on her. It really did. And we obviously did not know that because she don't go on Instagram live and tell us her fucking business like y'all space. Okay. But also because she looked so goddamn gorgeous everytime. She stepped out like for pictures with blue may went to the movie premiere whatever she always looks so fucking beautiful. There's just like look at this woman invented motor first rehearsal afterwards, girl, I forgot how big them to these guys. Yeah. She's still lose fragment. She was really looked maternal in is like an effective. They weren't planning a pregnancy at much less twins was like, oh, okay. Well, this heart. You know, God will make mistakes. Okay. Let's do this. Share? You know, I'm just going to have these babies I'm certain she doesn't regret that anyway. But family beautiful person. And it was just so nice to see beyond. I talk about shit that I have struggled with like to identify with beyond say like the word she's saying as opposed to just the hurt lyrics and all of those young talented people from all across the country wherever and world. Honestly when out there to do all too. I mean, I I don't even maybe it's because I hadn't watched the show in a while since the documentary, but I forgot how many different kinds of performers that were from the staffers. So a, you know, the line dancers, the major. Oh, like there were so many different kinds of dancing in it instruments in singing and stuff like that. So there was so much talent in the room. And I'm sure that that is, you know, like, many of them said gonna be moments they can show their grandkids and stuff like absolute, and the background vocals really just came through. I guess that's what happens when you actually have the mixed massive product that of the bootleg, but I could not hear the background singers. So clearly for the past year that I've been listening to me. So when I played it today. I was like wait, you bet we're back. They're Har Monae Zing. And it's like, of course, you were. But there are so many moving parts like the two hundred people on stage, and you know, there's cameramen and everybody's got a direction. There is so much to do. It was like eight ten months of nonstop work in just pouring so much into it every little detail meaning something he was just waiting on another album. You're actually missing the real signs. Mama's trying to tell you that she's married to open a h. ABC you on you. All the girls is going to be trying to go to blue Ivy university when it opens in twenty twenty or whenever really sad about not having a college experience, you know, and especially a block a black college experience. But we appreciate your sacrifice to do everything you have done I say, and I hope you had the homecoming of your dreams because bitch that was some black..

They're really really nice and a half back. I mean, you know, the pedigree experts aren't gonna like this. But number six late night pile while by five or sound. I believe he's an umbrella song horse.
