"Torch vip coming out of double or nothing. Because you and i haven't talked about it yet booking wise we've had a pretty small sample of awa doing big shows bit. You know big pay per view events from a booking pay per view standpoint. Have we learn more about tony. Kahn's vision and and in terms of how he books these shows. It looks like we're going to be pretty consistently aiming for the four hour mark for the main pay per view it. I thought it was a fantastic show with some caveats. How about you. yeah. I think the length is a bit of an issue for me personally. There's going to be some fans who wish it was five hours of course but i think you're better off leaving your audience wanting more even with a forty fifty dollar pay per view they do tend to drag a little bit. I liked it. They are going with thirty minutes for the pre show than keeping people around for five hours. Because even if you're willing participant to causes things to drag. But i thought it was a good show work. What i've learned about tony kahn's booking when what i'm taking away from Some of the positives or that. He's disciplined when it comes to title changes. They mean something when they happen. They're they pretty good job of making those titles mean something and i like that. It's not just hot potato with the titles We don't get too many over the top gimmick matches There's it. I don't know what the hell is going on in cody's matches i don't know if cody gets to book his own. It just seems like it's two different visions. I don't know maybe and maybe it is. Maybe it isn't but it. My guess is that cody is very hands on what he's doing and for better or worse you know. There was a time there. He was had the most compelling segments on the shell but those days are gone. Yeah cody cody is an interesting person. He is he is quirky. And i don't mind him being on the separate path for a while especially i especially during the pandemic. And he's doing his reality show and all that but he's not he's not twenty-eight eight either. I mean you want to get him to a point where you can plug him in as the guy who we saw at all out or was it all and what was the first all in all it was the first one At all in and and just the centerpiece of of the w movement and that headliner in that charisma whether that comes as a heel or face and i think it might he might be better as he'll but i don't know i waver on that because i think he's a really good face but if he if i i'm concerned he's going to come across as a guy who is content to be in the sidebar issues and he's taken himself out of the world title situation with that stipulation and people stop looking at. Aws they stop looking at cody. Has one of the main players aws. He's more of a of a celebrity attraction who is aspiring to do other things reality tv and have celebrity matches and that kind of thing. Can he flip a switch and end up in a world title match as a heel against hangman. Paid for instance. There was a baby facing kenny. Omega can that can that switch be flipped and if we set aside the notion of tried to talker extract from the stipulation that prevents that from even being a thing which is why is it. Then why did he feel compelled to do that. The first list. Nobody was saying we don't want cody to challenge for the world title because he's gonna spend two years not in the world title picture. Maybe he thought and he wants to have an excuse that he's not until he has an angle returns. He'll does i mean honestly that's my best. Guess is he was a. It was a pre-emptive strategic. Move to make. It seem like the only reason he's not in the main event is because the last night of anti was in knocked him out of the main advance and he's gonna be a man of his word and not do it so we could have. I don't know if i want to say it was a move out of insecurity. Because i don't think cody has a lot of insecurity. I think it was a strategic move designed to let other people have their time until the angle comes where it's time i hope that angle does come. I mean there's people that really say that you know he means this season ever challenging for that title and to me. It's dilbert and silly. I i appreciate you. Don't want to repeat some of the volta good things. His dad did some of the bad things that he did with the overbooking of himself. And everything. but you can still do that without a world title This thing with anthony a the boring segment. i've ever seen dynamite. So far was that way in really that that was it. They just huge entourages to go out there. And way in and there's nothing more i think he w takes pride and breaking away from some of the kind of trite things that cliche things that happened like i think. I think they're willing to bore you in order to show that they're different like we're not going to be like them. We're going to bore you instead of give you a satisfying and and someone tell paul way to work. And we don't care if somebody does a super zoom in on twitter to post. He didn't have the right way. "What is there anything that that they can do. Between now and mid july to improve the product or are they just kind of spinning their wheels. Until oh you just wait that might be the mindset. They're thinking internally we've got some big things planned for mid-july when we get back on the road were saving them and just hang with us tread water for another six weeks. Things will get better is do you think. That's their mindset and we're just going to see them fill every week and dump it out for three hours every monday yes yeah but i don't think it magically whole improves when they go back on the road i think you're gonna get whatever they you know they. They've probably got a couple of things up their sleeves whether it's symbolic and returning johnson or whatever. The left some people like that. But it's not like the creatively issues magically going to get better from top to bottom so you may get a segment or two. That are better on the show. But you're still having a low interest a lot of just poorly written characters doing stupid things that people don't wanna see anymore and they're all still going to be there filling up probably at least two thirds of the show. Yeah yeah is there. Is there something you would do for the next six weeks just to stabilize the ship from sinking more before they get to mid july or are you not particularly alarmed by the the the viewership trends in think kind of are just. They are where they're going to be for a while and it's not that big of difference. I mean if if i if i if the the average for the year right now is one point. Three not counting this week's holiday rating The average the last six weeks is one point three. So you can make the case okay. Set aside memorial day. Bit of an aberration set aside that it was one point to the week before. That's still sort of the margin of error. They're still in the range of one point three. They'll probably be there july like there's no reason to sound alarm bells a lot level or do you think what what we're watching the numbers going from one point three six to one point three five to one point two way to one point two zero two one point one. Oh actually there is a leak and they're not that that needs to be addressed in the next six weeks. I think there's a league. I don't think they will address it. I think they should. But i don't think they will. I think it just all focuses is on once they get back on the road and get fans back in the building. It's i mean it's going to provide a boost to the show and it sounds like they're working on a new set and things like that. That's all great. But it's all the cosmetic things are nice. You can have new packages new announcers all that stuff. What if creatively. It's still a train wreck. It's only a matter of time before the same issue happens. And they don't have much time they go back on the show in mid june. I'll bet gives you a roughly two months before you start facing like nfl competition even if it's just in preseason and then the regular season comes september amid every gam year they run up against the nfl. The numbers just keep getting worse like. When does it end. When does the freefall stop. We've been waiting for years now and it just keeps getting worse. Yeah i think the next six weeks are going to be A real big story in this industry and doesn't matter ultimately when it comes to selling like our have we learned from listening to these conference calls and seeing the financial side covered. Wwe that they're not actually paying a lot of attention they they're looking vincent man to give him give him a line. That sounds good enough. You know we're going to reimagine how shows that was his answer. Okay well fantastic mine. So we all think about dropping attendance compared to same quarter last year and nothing happened In with the ratings. Oh you know when we look at the numbers or vince or someone will spend go. We're are in line with where we've been always relative to cable shows. That kind of thing is wall street. In our the financial people are gonna pay any attention to all this data or in terms of the disconnect with fans the the ratings going down creative problems and the fact that they're just stripping stripped the roster to cut expenses to make profits. Look better if that's what they're doing are they gonna is. Also you're going to go. Oh profits or better yeah. This is a great company. Still because we're not really a history of them recognizing the more nuanced aspects of why it would be. Why vincent man might wanna sell at a high point why they might be suckers for buying into it and not seeing the data that we talk about every week. It's interesting thought we mow with all the cuts don't and everything that we've seen so many of us are thinking sale and vince himself has said you know a couple years. We're open for business. I thought we might see stock. Really shoot up in anticipation of a sale. And that doesn't seem to have happen so they're not reading things the same way. Maybe there's not that buzz because usually they're not supposed to have some people seem to find out about these things and take advantage of it and they really haven't been any signs of that but as far as like the analysts will be mixed. As far as the call's they take there'd be the usual one woman is always in love with damn near everything they do. There's going to be the ones that'll probably applaud them for trimming the fat as they'll see it They i think wall street's gonna give them the benefit of the doubt again because they haven't had fans because they're going back on the road because they've been running opposite. The nba playoffs all built and excuses. That they keep getting to recycle the obviously. The pandemic is different. But i do think there's gonna be another thing to say. Wwe will point to. And i think nick con seems to be a darling in the financial world and he consoled him on the right excuses. I think they're gonna buy it hook line and sinker is. Is your antenna up more for for for. Wwe selling and selling soon than it has been in recent times in india that there's indicators beyond sort of gut feeling looking at the headlines in terms of buzz elsewhere so i mean to me. It's the gutting of the company. I mean you can. Yeah there's redundancies. And you want to clean up and an somebody's coming in and doing what con- is doing as far as being the head financial guy. You're going to get some of that. But to the extent that we have is what really makes me and khan himself. I know he did that interview with colin coward acting like he can't see. Vince mcmahon every giving up control. And but i don't think fence would have to i. Dana white really didn't win the ufc was sold. And like i said. I think there's this perception adventure the creative genius still and he's the only one who can do this and i so unless sits up front. He's going to retire. i. I would think that they're gonna want him to steer the ship. If there is a sale. And i think he would retain his power but also get that big and whatever it sells for the big payday out of it. Because i know other people i guarantee if you're listening to this you've been selling for any amount of time amazon owes you some money now if you've been selling for a few weeks it's going to be a little bit. Maybe you know tiny tiny bit but if you've been selling for months and months or even years you probably have thousands of dollars waiting on you in cases that you could open up yourself. If you know knew what to do but they have a they have it all down. They have they know what to look for. And they open up these cases for years at right absolutely yes so they opened up all the cases they go through all of the reports. That amazon gives you. You can do this yourself again. It's it's what saves us time though for us. It was five to ten hours a month of having to go through all of these and make in keeping up with all of the cases which is also a pain attached to deal with so it saved us a ton of time And that alone to me is worth it but yet she has a whole team of visas that she works with trains and monitors the whole process of and so. That's why i like using her at the time and watching her build out. "What's that process. Look like yes. So i would start with somebody that you know if you can so our first shopper. Was somebody that we knew and then our second one the one that we try relied on the most that ended up having to move on to other things. She was a referral from our friend. So that helped then. When we had to hire the mass amount of shoppers we went to people we didn't know at all and so typically our process would be a facebook post to try to find people at least that are about of ours than the second thing and the thing that helped us the most for our warehouse in our shoppers was using the next door app. So it's one word. Nextdoor nextdoor app was huge for us and we did a string of ten interviews at panerabread at the time for figuring out who want enemy wanted four or five shoppers. We got six one or two of them didn't work out because we have a training period and yeah we went from there or they making decisions for you're just buying reprints are about just buying reprints. Just strictly shopping off of a shopping list. We have one person the original shopper higher vars. That's our friend. She still works for us. She makes some decisions and makes bias for them. And then we also trained another Thanks a cousin of britney's that or cousin. In law of britney's i guess that also makes buying decisions for us now to that's incredible so what happens if you in brittany just said you know what i am done with the amazon business. We need to take not done forever. Let's say you wanna take a month long break. What would happen to your business if you just like completely checked out. Maybe you need to let them know you're going to check out but could your business run. If you guys were just completely out of pocket on some stranded island with no internet access for a month you could run for sure. Wow have you know there would be less checks and balances because you know britney still review the by lists and stuff that are our people are main person does But yeah i mean it would still run without it. Music Probably tell her. Hey don't buy a ton of this one product by small amounts of everything. But yeah i think credible guys i know i wanna get to that level and you can you really can and and don't be if you're the type of person that gets you know You feel like you're the loser when you see people like jimmy bringing their blown it up on amazon during a million dollars last year realize that most people aren't at that level. It's definitely doable. You can get there. You can scale your business just like you know. They have but some people listen to this. Like don't have a desire to don't have just happy making a couple thousand dollars extra month. That's totally doable. To and that's easy to do with this business even if you're listening to this.

"Hit twenty five twenty seven ish. We decided okay. It's time to really offload a lot of these tasks that can be done for. You know fifteen dollars an hour or less those days like. Can you remember back when you were hitting at that. Twenty five or twenty seven thousand dollar mark per month. What were those days and weeks like us guys like working like crazy trying to keep up just like either we're gonna we're gonna burn out or we're going to have to hire it out in order to increase. Yes so that's exactly what it was. I mean we were shopping a ton and then we would bring it home and we hated prepping ships so we would let it sit sometimes And we tried to do other things and so we tried a bunch of different models at that point until we decided. Okay we're just gonna focus on re plans and blow that up as much as we could So yeah we hated prepping ship. I've described it before soul-sucking for me it was a killer. I don't like it and so we did everything we could at all costs to avoid. And so yeah. We hired this to people and we hired a shopper. And then we hired another person For the warehouse and then another warehouse person and then we've gone to four or five shoppers now about six warehouse people. All of them are part time except for one. We have fulltime and so we did that. Not necessarily intentionally. But i kinda like that because it's You know we can count on a bunch of people if one person to take off. We aren't counting on that one person to be But that was just our choice. There's obviously more people manage than the aso things we off loaded managing our back end of our amazon account so reimbursements refund stranded inventory pricing errors. All of those things we off loaded two years ago. I think two to three years ago at this point given the that right..

"What type of industry you have. It's unique is that could be a private label. Even we can talk about. Private will probably won't here but you know think about what's unique to your area Are there certain manufacturer that you live close to reserve certain whatever type of good You know we talk about washington state or michigan cherries texas barbecue sauce and salsa kansas city. Not too few hours from kansas city. They have barbecue sauce. There's probably a barbecue sauce restaurant that every time somebody goes to kansas city. They have to have that restaurant and they wish they could take that barbecue sauce home. A lot of those restaurants. Sell it right there. The restaurant won't how many of those restaurants have their products on amazon. Because i don't wanna drive ten hours every time i want that kansas city barbecue sauce. You know i'm gonna have to amazon to get it and jimmy. You could be the one to provide that and then you even mentioned tied you know if you are looking up those things which are fine. I would suggest looking at maybe different sense or variety. Bundles of those types of things that you know if you're scanning. Upc bar codes. You're going to get one result in. Everyone's going to be selling on it or it's going to be restricted whereas if you're looking up i don't know the different sense but if you're looking at a sent it can have a bundle or variety with it or it can have like tide Dryer sheets with it with the tide. Laundry detergent can have those types of bundles. So be creative of of looking for those types of things to if you're looking with name brand stuff Special edition would be given name brands like the special edition pop tart seasonal pop tarts things like that can be good to all right. Let's talk about. Let's talk to the person jimmy who is doing this. They understand replant. They're doing pretty well. "You know believe that this is something that does work because hundreds thousands of people i think honestly at this point have gone through and been successful with this method so it just take that as a learning experience. You need to spend ten thousand hours to be an expert. I don't think that's true with this business. Honestly right but you definitely need to spend more than ten. You know trying to be successful at this so take it as an investment in your business and just understand that it might take a little bit of time and You know try try learning and getting content from the group's if the testimonials are making you feel like you're stupid than don't look at those but look within them so out and that would be my suggestion that's good also you said before Voice remember this is guys try regional store so you know. I know that you britney. Get a lot of your reply that walmart but so does everybody else in walmart's everywhere so maybe guys. There's a store near you that you know not in saint louis where jimmy lifts are not in dallas. Where i live What's what's the store. That's a local to you local to your region your state And start there because not every seller that are in. Our communities has access to that store therefore there's also probably some brands and products that are in those stores that would sell awesome online. But just nobody's brought it to them to those online places because you know they're not sourcing it. Those places so regional stores can be awesome yeah and regional products to in those big box store. Sometimes you know. Like i know walmart will have cheaper prices on some region have guarantee if i wanted to wyatt my walmart two miles down the road and you went to your walmart two miles down the road. Know lockdowns all over the world still a people either know how easy it is and they're going to continue or they just like you know what i can't even go to the store. It's not possible don't want to unless just Continue to have it show up at the door and you are in a perfect position to be in a serve them in that way and provide those products that they can't get some absolutely through those of us. I mean if you've got people are looking for work too so it's easier than ever in my opinion to scale the business because you've got people that want jobs and are fine. Going to the stores you know can can do the shopping or do the warehouse work. It's easier than ever to find those people. Also you are providing that service. I mean if people are too sick to get out or to you know At risk to get out of their house in you're able to than we are providing that service to those customers that need it so there is a in my opinion a spiritual component to that of being able to have a win win situation for both parties And i think that if you can do it and you're looking for something to do to make money than it's almost a you know a responsibility to be that of yours to provide those things so And continued to grow the e commerce platforms that you can sell on so and i actually me another outlook for twenty twenty one. I always liked being on hand talking to you thank you oh guys. Jimmy was on episode. Three of the. So it's been quite a while since we chatted on this show so Jimmy kind of a lot has happened in the world since we chatted back. I guess I was August awhile. One nineteen and were recording. This April the twenty ninth a twenty twenty The world has changed. Hasn't it yes? It has quite a bit a lot of the change of last month and a half really but then crazy totally has told us. Oh when you're you're episode people. Because they were on I know some folks like Oh my gosh. I can't really believe that that's possible and guys for we're not going to go deep into the whole replay strategy that we talked about in that episode but to essentially Jimmy Brittany at that point. We're selling over. A hundred thousand dollars per month on Amazon was their their gross sales figure on Amazon. And Jimmy told me yesterday that It's a little bit more than that now So they'll cheer with us. What's going on in your business sales wise since we last Javid. Yeah absolutely so Obviously everything that's happened you know it's the virus and everything going around people shopping online at so our business This month will be over. One hundred eighty thousand on my gosh expected soon over edited period to be over two hundred for awhile. So yeah it's been pretty cool So wow that before. All of this. We're up about one. Twenty five one thirty you know. Our business has still grown from August. Twelve February this. It's gone up quite a bit. So what would you okay? So forget about the corona virus for a second just is talking about the jump from one hundred twenty five and one thirty. What what did you do that? made that happen yes. We actually hired more shoppers before actually in August. We had one main shopper. And then she was working thirty five hours a week And she actually ended up having to stop doing that because she wanted to spend more time and or quiz things on our kids and done but so we decided that we couldn't be dependent on just that one shopper anymore. We had higher multiple. We hired him x five other shoppers and they all work between five and ten hours a week so can spread the workload around can get more products and lock on one person that awesome assegais just to kind of let the cat out of back a little bit here. Jimmy night chatted yesterday about a a an outsourcing course that will probably be doing with my friend. Our friend honey woods Jimmy. Just talk to honey today about that. And she's excited to get gone so we need to set up a time to outline but guys outsourcing has been key to their business. And there's I I know that he in Brittany never could have done what they're doing without having people that work for them. I mean it's just probably not possible right not at all. Yeah definitely wouldn't been able to do all the other things that we do have side of our business so you know we. We did just the replays model and sell it on Amazon by ourselves for the longest time. Only got twenty five thousand. We might have been able to get up to forty but that would have been cap so sure. This point man at one eighty. It's pretty crazy. We also right on our utilizing a prep center To do some of that stuff for us. It's Nice 'cause I know last time we talked. You had your own kind of own. Prep Center that you were. You had people there so now. You've outsourced some of that. Even so we have a prep center down. We actually Carl. Who I believe was on your as down south. Prep we use him and he he's been great so we'll have some sentiment instead of us. Doing it is just gotten to the point where you know. We have access to different stores. Down here Just as much money essentially a little bit more money for us to outsource that. But we don't have the room right now for more products and more people. You outsource actually have shoppers down near where Carl lives. No so we'll place online orders. Okay got it. Carl Carl if I do need something from picked up down there. He's got him to love it yet somehow. Doing I mean not a ton. There's probably about five thousand a month or so five to ten but yeah I mean you know. Huge help to have grantable. Yeah Yeah So. Tell me about your shoppers. Are they actually. Are they just buying those re plans? That are on a list that you give them or they actually making decisions looking at the APP saying hey. I'm willing to buy this and not by. This will ninety percent of our shoppers just by off of a list. They don't make decisions. Do have one person that's fully trained and she actually find products for us so we don't do that more really and then we've got another person that goes through each week and tries to find new products and we're kind of training her on helping to do that as well people doing that. And I believe five five or six that just shop off the list. Yeah guys that makes a huge difference because like you know I know you could. You could train somebody to contain lots of everybody to to make those decisions but the decisions that you and Britney make are based off of like now years of knowledge and so to take that out of your brain and download it to somebody else is kind of a monumental task so what he's doing now guys basically you know. I'm not going to spoil what we talked about in episode three and you guys can go back and listen to that about what the replan strategy is but essentially they have. They're buying the same things over and over and over again so it makes it so much easier. These these shoppers of his can walk into a store with essentially the same thing as a shopping list or a grocery list. And say I just need three of these ten of these two of these right? Yeah absolutely so we list we do it all through Google sheets. A that's where the shoppers access it. You know we have a different software for our own. Managing on US but They all use google sheets and so they can each see what each other has bought. You know if they're both shopping. Same time so it works out perfectly in that way so we're always tweaking things trying to find different ways to do it but so far that's been the easiest and it's free so awesome love three. Yeah hold the list for us and very cold So guys we were kind of really. Didn't really intend to go. This deep in the whole outsourcing the thing but just kind of you know it's the way these things kind of flow but I wanna get back to the the krona virus in the state of Amazon bits. So I imagine guys will have Jimmy back on again on an episode maybe Honey onto to talk about the the course that we're going to be launching dealing with outsourcing. Because you've won I love about you and Brittany's guys take things that you are doing and you you have a great way of systematising it of it's not it's a you seem like you're a detailed guy and you do a good job of taking it and making it to where somebody else can plug into that system and run it and allows you and Brittany to be more hands off and then focus on some other things. You guys have gone on that. We'll talk about here in a second. Yeah absolutely no. It's it's a luckily for me. I mean as much as hard as Britain at work. I am pretty lazy so like I have to be to be right. 'cause I don't WANNA GO OP. I don't under- prepping and shipping anymore years of that so you just start to get Her eventually got myself a job of doing that. When I wanted to own the business so making sure that we can outsource things has been a vital and even now if we're looking at new business opportunities do ninety percent of the time we have to think well. Can we ever outsource this? But then we're stuck and we have to ourselves forever so have to look at is it outsourcing and and you know at what kind of costs would it be outsource itself. Your yeah. There's there's a lot of stuff we look at. And it's just been instrumental fresh to grow and add streams of income. I think yeah in August since I talked to you last online at this point but the you know from them to now but at least ten you know the other day you were like fourteen yet. What we added a fifteenth one. I sent you that. Yes that's right. So he added are onsite for our one of our private label products and so that s the shop off eyesight. We're selling stuff off of Amazon. Yeah one hundred first day so that was pretty cool. I love it and you also says something was hilarious at some of these are just puddles right now. But there are other income streams is. That's the way it is. I mean I say that I have like six dining. Probably go back and look and see. How many really have I when I wrote the book as it? Sixteen plus Maybe it's more maybe actually less because some actually sometimes streams will die off and you'll either replace them or not replace them the guys. Don't think that you know all these fourteen or fifteen that Jimmy has that there are things that are bringing in one hundred thousand dollars in sales like his Amazon business. It's not usually like that would be great right. You know we're talking things that might even bring a hundred bucks a month but that's still money. That in most of those things are things that he doesn't have to put it. Attention on. So. Out of these items are things ee get started and they just consistently bring money so absolutely. I totally agree with that Actually Yeah August. We had the prep center. So we were prepping Botox for other people and we just kind of realize too much of a headache for us. We had too many other things going on. You know the too many things that we'd have to outsource surreal like you know what let's get rid of that. And that's freed up a lot of time for us to add things so those streams you know they come and go in the numbers you know. They're great you know. Somebody's fourteen fifteen. Sixteen hundred Grand Amazon. There are still you know what is that mean You know how much effort will kind of profit that kind of stuff? So Ray not. Streams of income are vital. These are items that you can sell over and over again and a basis of that is that these provide a solid foundation in your business so instead of going around looking for clearance items. All the time folks that are using the replenish strategy. They're walking into a store or going online and essentially just replenishing these items so it's like walking in with a grocery list or a shopping list and you know that you can have consistent sales and then when you find those clearance deals you find for five dollars for thirty dollars. That's just a gravy on top so the people who are in like our legends group for example who are using the replays Jiji. They're the ones that are able to quit their jobs. Because they have that steady income coming in every month from these items that are just continually selling and so I'm super to chat with Jimmy again to get an update on things going on in his business. He just wrote a book. He's got some software out now and some super cool things happened in his business since we last chatted with him on back in episode three and he mentions the legends group that he really attributes much of his success to that helped him in. Brittany goal from ten thousand a month. And now I won't spoil it but Quite a bit more than one hundred thousand a month which incredible to me but he attributes that to the things he's learned in the Legend Group in so that legends group guys were doing a trial in that we just. We want more success stories at one. More people who are able to Take an Amazon business and be able to quit their jobs or do whatever it is that you started the business for so if you're just starting out or you're trying to grow your business. "Daily Habits relationships and I've found over course about twenty years of owning my own business multiple businesses multiple partnerships when I focus on my daily disciplined daily habits keeping my own wife in order. I go so much further much faster and unable to pursue the right opportunities. I give you example like if you set a goal and say I want to sell x number units by X. Date a bigger opportunity or or a new relationship comes along or some disruption comes along. And you're so goal focused That you lose track of the bigger picture goals can actually hurt you in that scenario. Now you may well hit your goal. You've missed out on a much larger opportunity And a goal says nothing about how you're gonNA get there necessarily until you say okay. Here's the disciplines I'm going to put in place my thought on goal to kick it back to you. As you know every goal I ever set. I don't send a lot of now but every goal I've ever set in the past. I've either fallen short of hitting it much case. I beat myself up a little bit like what I do wrong argo way past it. In which case it was kind of useless because I ended up over cheating what I set out to do. Anyway in the goal wasn't even the finish line. I was going well beyond that way before I thought I would. So I'm just not a big old guy no-one again nothing against the guys who teach but I'm more daily discipline. Habits constant education learning and relationships. I love that. And that's so awesome in calendars walked in the room. Once again on Callan. Christmas buddy I and guys. I hope that's refreshing. Because I know some of you were in that same boat where you feel like Cali just either like what Jim just said you either fall very short of it and you beat yourself up feel like Gosh I just should not even set goals which is not the. Don't just throw out the baby with the bathwater or you completely blow them away and they were kind of useless and so I wanNA talk. You brought something awesome about these opportunities that come your way. If you're setting goals you might be so focused on that thing that you don't see or you don't allow those new things there's new opportunities to enter into your business your life because your focus on this other stuff and you could totally miss out on some really cool things. I know in my business. Some of the stuff I do with you is not. It's usually. Jim has not things that I thought of in advance. It's just like we see a need in the community and we come up with an idea like hey you know. I think this idea for a class on re plans on finding products over and over again would be good. You and I quickly partner up on that. And that's been one of the most successful courses that I've ever done. And so I if I had a goal of just so had had my nose to the grindstone so much focusing on what my goals were. I might have missed that opportunity so I call it. I call it being in a state of disciplined distractibility. That's what I've always referred to it. That's what I call it. I have never heard that phrase. It's kind of my own internal M. I being disciplined about the tasks at hand right now but not so much. So I'd miss the obvious. China opportunities disciplined distractibility. I'm easily distracted away. From those tasks that I'm very disciplined about attack calendar walk into your office Secrete Example Ryan. You know if if he came in and had his really cool drawing to show you or something you and I both exist in a state of constantly being able to be distracted away from our family benefit from that and we were so goal oriented that we shut our doors locked it for nine hours a day which the benefit of being home based entrepreneur. Right so it's disciplined distractibility meeting. I'm going to get as much as I can. But there's people who have earned the right to to distract me plea my friends partners this more family. Yeah I can be distracted away from that anytime I'm needed within healthy boundaries. A state of discipline distractibility. Help somebody today to think that way. I love that discipline destroyed because I feel that's the way I am because I'm always looking for new opportunities. I know you and I am just honored that you say this. I'm one of the you know the best people that you've seen in your community as far as using leverage but it's because I and I are off opportunities to come in and I'm always looking for new business ideas of I pay attention to questions. People have in our our community and then I put two things together and say well this. There's a need here while here's person that can meet that need and that's not always usually not even me that you know does it. It's usually you know somebody else that can partner to make it possible. And so if I was just so focused on what I'm trying to do I I would miss those things. I heart goal centers. I would say maybe this is a goal set aside some time to think about the opportunities that are right under your nose based on the people you know the community's part of experiences you've had your the tools that you bring the find five or ten of those a month because that's what you do riot very naturally any to echo you to set your. You are the best in our community at finding those untapped each to. Hey here's here's the way. I think we can meet that need in a way that everybody wins. These three way wins early Wednesday with the idea wins. The owner of the community wins. We put it together so finding those taking time to find those. If you want to set a goal but ultimately it's being other oriented you can either be goal oriented are you can be other origin courage. You make sure if your goal oriented not leaving others out of the picture. That's right man. One episode on the PODCAST. You had Guiseley as he has his own podcast. He's waybill beyond me on this silent. Sales Machine PODCASTS. Definitely listen to it. I get so many great ideas from it The one recent one about relationships and you challenged us to spend time with people either on the phone or a skype call. Him caller even better in person. Would you suggest that would be a goal of somebody like you know? This week have X. amount of conversations this month have X. amount of conversations or this year that would be a goal. I think you you might set. Oh one hundred percent. I spoke recently at an event right. I think I've mentioned that on this podcast episodes referring to but I asked the audience. How many of you had a phone or a sky chat or sat down across the table for coffee or lunch with US more than three people in the last month's regarding your business and less than five percent of the hands in that room without I was astounded so I changed my whole topic for the day and just beat him up on that. Because if you're not having live interactive conversations I'll talk about texts or email. Those don't count I've talked about. You could hear each other's voice. Ideally you can see the face in even better. I would say up to a hundred times better. You're in the same room at the same time and it's just the two of you. Those are the most powerful meetings you can ever have. It will advance your business. Kirk than any other activities. So yeah if you're not doing that set a goal. Those are the kind of go because now notice. I'm connected us. I'm connecting relationships. Goals right if you decided it gold. That's a number on a piece of paper. You Know I. I think I go. Toe To toe with those gurus who are teaching that and and prove them I think wrong in goal is just a number on a piece of paper anything immoral but it's certainly not the best way to fuel you forward quickly. That's so true guys. This has been awesome Jim Thank you so much because I this it just resonated with me. When I heard that your goal setting podcast even know how long ago it was but I still remember it and it just because I feel like I'm one of those people who feel like I don't doesn't work for me the normal way and so I do focus on. What do I need to be doing today? What I need to be doing right now to advance my business and it's not you know you just focus on those daily habits and there's a book out there called atomic habits. I think it's really popular book. And this is daily habits right. You'RE GONNA hit your goal so I just do that if you feel like you're in that position that Jim Neier in and the normal way doesn't work than just focus on those daily habits. "For every step needs to be done in order to make this happen okay. So what does that look like then with so you want to move to Honduras and you a work. Ten to fifteen hours a week because of the Internet. How does that go down into The plans and then the daily things that you do and then the night those ninety day goals and all that type of stuff so we have to look at what processes can. We outsource. Who can do those? We've already started. The warehouse process So very very specific plan that we're now putting in place is what do we do with returns and damaged items with Amazon or with any other from that were selling on so now. Amtrak or putting. Together A step-by-step plan on what to do with those items a some of them are selling on other platforms. Some are going to be sent to an auction house in some are going to be sent to different charities. So we're working so I'm working on those plans now and putting those in place and we'll probably have those in place by mid-year. Oh Nice okay. And what's the systems and processes look like? Is it like videos of you showing how it's done or is it like UPDF document that somebody could come in and take over? It's both because we've found that people learn different ways. Sometimes we'll do a quick video. The problem with videos is if the process changes to the video so I like written steps that have checklists on them. And we're actually exploring a couple of different software options that provide this. That would have access to you know the VA's can access as well as some of the people we have in the states to go through those processes and check them off nice. That's huge and then it's just like so like almost like project management software that we see right all right cool okay and you show me your planner at one point that it's something like you basically kind of created on your own and it's something that we're gonNA actually do a Webinar on that of how people can use. They're not US things that they already have. And the the labels in what's that process of using using the your labels in putting it on notebook and because it's different than what you know. It's not like you know expensive planner that somebody has to buy to put your system into place you know what? I found with planners is when political by planners whether they cheat on her expensive one. They don't WanNa ride in it because they mess it up right. It's kind of a very interesting dynamics. So what I did. Is We all all all the people that at least on Amazon? Have the four by six labels used for for shipping and you have a thermal laser so it's essentially we got the free. I shouldn't be using but we have the free like most we have the free printing I created on these labels the grids that we use or crane the planner. So instance you. I recommend that you only have four. Focus areas okay. So it's four pieces of your goal so you take your goal a working ten to fifteen hours and say okay. What are the four components of that and then you kind of break that down? So that's one pc put in your planner then. We have For every month you will then say out of. I'm GonNa take these tasks and do them this month. And we have a a just a little form. That just has Monday through Friday in a room for a little checks and this is what I'm GonNa do this week. So you take that from your original goals and you've broken that down and you take the next pieces and just put right in there it really pretty easily and just you just ever I like the spiral bound better than the flat. Because it just makes it easier so night. I can add that and in the back what we've done is we've created a bullet journal. Okay. That as you're in conferences or webinars you can take notes and then you can jot down what page those are on a very flexible way. Thinks he can make your planner this way. Yeah that's awesome. Then you feel like you can write in and near not messing anything up right. Exactly get ripped the page out. But if it's really bad exactly. How long did it take? I know people like struggle and me included like what. What's my system? How did you devise this? And did you go through a long process of figuring out? What worked for you. It took me about a year work in terms of what worked for me And then the Shiny Object Syndrome. I mean I have it as bad as anybody. I'll there you go. How do we how what would cause that? You know that. That's the big thing we struggle with as Internet entrepreneurs because there's always a new course a new book coming out and we want to and they're all amazingly good content. But how do you focus and figure out? You know what that may be really good. But that's not right for me right now. How do you tell somebody to be able to focus? Well that's where this I told you. What my four goals were. I mean they were. They were about time and money and location free and adding a stream so when I looked at everything that was coming out it was. Does it fit there? You go with those objectives that I had ears. That's what was really helpful to me now. He's off a little bit of latitude because I said at a stream with income so there was no things in there that I could her but This planner was not in that originals. Okay other stream but when I started working through this and found it was it was helping other people try and Organiz their time and their focus but really helped me. But you know what you're going insane is this. Does this fit in with that or not. Yes you're trying to be location free so a business that requires you to be in Texas. That's okay maybe at this moment. But that's not where you're trying to get to so you're probably going to to that opportunity or something that's GonNa allow you to continue that when you're in Honduras that's brilliant. This is a jimmer talking about goals and I know that there's some people that totally do it the right way and they have enormous results in. There's folks in me included in this where sometimes I feel like Gosh. I'm a failure like I set these goals and I just either never hit them or they take. They take not. They don't take the normal time that I had set for it. And it's frustrating on your podcast. You had an episode re talked about goals and it was really refreshing to me. 'cause you instead of quote goals you focus on the daily habits. Kinda wanted to dig into that and give my listeners some encouragement if they feel like that might be a better off for them. So what is that for you? What is your goal setting system look like yet? You know the the foul I try to go back to the greatest business book ever written on these subjects and I look for advice it local based advice when I look in the Bible. I don't see a whole lot there about setting goals now. I do see things like run the racist ways to win the prize at the closest you get to a goal setting type of mind set up so a lot of the business grew out of business. I'm not anti goal by any means right much. I don't hold it against someone if they do set goals. But it's never worked for me I focus more on those things. Those teams that I see promoted.

Don't just walk into twenty twenty without a plan whatsoever but just know that. There's hope if you feel like you've failed before and goals have not been your thing while at least do something right down. Start taking daily action. Start working on those small pieces if that bigger goal seems ominous work on those daily actions in guys. I want to end this segment with a quote from Theodore Roosevelt. It's a a believe it's an excerpt from one of his speeches and it's titled the man in their arena and I got this sign as a gift from guys in my mastermind group and I'm GonNa be hanging this on my wall and here's what it says. It is not the critic who counts not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or the doer of deeds could have done them. Better their credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood who strives valiantly. Who heirs who come short again and again who spends himself in a worthy cause who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and at the worst if he fails at least fails while daring greatly so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat man cold and timid souls. Jimmy did a Webinar last night and I listened to it and it was awesome because it was the more traditional way of setting goals but he laid it out in a way that it was a little bit different than I've heard it some of the terms I've never heard before I wanna get into that and Because I know some of you like want that more detailed. Look you have An Amazon business. For example. And you you WANNA hit ten thousand dollars per month in sales and he'll he'll explain what I mean by all this but that's kind of just are could be an arbitrary number or could just be you know maybe it's a big goal for you. How do you break that down into what I need to do today? And Jimmy System is perfect for that. So Jimmy talk about your system some of the terms of hurt on your Webinar last night were were really good because it made sense of how other people talk about it but is a little bit different approach but still kind of the normal roud right. Yeah and this has just been culmination of things that I've done over the years. I've always been a goal setter going back to college which has been about a decade now. So yeah. I've kind of formulated. This process that I that I enjoy and keep adding stuff to it each and every year. The main idea I'll just go through. I GUESS CANAL STILL IT. Overview of it sure big-name ideas that You start off with kind of what you want to become at the end of the year so it could be. I want to be a runner or I want to be a successful Amazon seller. I want to be an excellent husband or wife. Whatever that might be for you and it's starting off with that idea and really. What do you want to become as person I've heard that Described as formations You know you wanNA kind of You form yourself into the person to become in so I start with that and then I start to break down goals from there so if I want to become a successful Amazon seller then I would start going down and I'd break it into one. Two three goals her Formation that I chose so I could have three or four formations the ones that I just listed so wanna be a runner Amazon seller etc and then from each of those. I'll break it into one to three main goals and then we break it down further after the end but in Let's say we're talking about replays because that's sort? We've discussed in the past and selling just products on Amazon. It could be okay. I want to be a successful on seller. So that means that I. Let's say to me. That's I WANNA hit ten thousand dollars per month in sales at your big overarching formation. Or what you want to be okay and it looks to me as you know to me. That's the successful portion that I can see ahead of me right. You know you can always say oh. I want ten million dollars sales. But if you're zero right you need them. Hit Realistic as well. So if you're going for ten thousand you've been said this is what I wanna hit in. Then how do I get there and that could be? I WANNA find a sixty re plans in thirty days or thirty refunds in thirty days which would just products to sell. And I want to outsource the prepping process and I want to outsource shopping online is I'll I'll stick with the retail and then from there you can break those down again further And so I know it can kind of sound a little bit more confusing but the whole idea is you start with a big picture formation and then you break them down into the smallest steps possible in you continue to do that until you run out of steps because then you can start to plan on your calendar. Put Him every week. Whatever that might be actually ended up over the year. You'll be able to see that you're hitting those goals and love that. I do like to talk about a lot. Is the difference between leading versus lagging goals in for somebody. That's new to the topic. Might be a little bit confusing at first but the idea is that a leading goal is how you really want to set up your goals. And that's because it's the action the leading action that gets you the end result that you're looking for so for instance if I want to hit ten thousand dollars in sales that ten thousand dollar number. That is a lagging goal. That's what happens after all of the effort that I put in to get there in a leading goal is something that is like I wanNA find thirty products a month and you know by the end of the year I will hit or by the end of a few months that will have enough products to hit that. End Goal of ten thousand dollars per month in sales. You WanNa you WANNA try to set up as many leading goals as you can because there are actionable steps. You can take to hit the end result. You're looking for love that so that's like you mentioned very briefly vision boards at the end of your Webinar. And so I would imagine. Tell me if.

"An awesome holidays and so I know this time of year folks are thinking about the next year so as new recording. This I'm thinking about twenty twenty. What does that look like for me? What does that look like for my business of being an entrepreneur? I'm always thinking of business ideas and things are always running through my head and I'm wondering what does next year look like and rather than just wondering what's what's GonNa look like. I want to at least do some planning and be proactive about it. This episode is all about goals. And No. That's a topic that some of you. I am tired of hearing about goals. Everybody's talking about goals. I hope this one is a refreshing when for you because I realize because I'm in this position that the traditional way doesn't always work for folks for me. My story is that I do write things down. I'm more of a big picture. Guy As far as vision and in another episode I had a talked about vision boards and how to cast a vision for your life because I believe you have to see it in your heart. I in your head as well but you have to see it in your heart before you can see it in your hands and so you have to be a thinking about it moving towards it you have to be seeing it. And that's why I'm actually big believer. Envisioned works allows me to see some of these big picture. Things that a bleed got his called me to do some of the things that are on my heart desires as well But then those big dreams in order to move towards them you have to take action and so this kind of work goals come into play. So what do I want accomplish in twenty twenty? What all want to accomplish in quarter one or two quarter three quarter four so I'm going to share my version of the way I do it and then I have three different people that I've interviewed at That are GonNa be sharing an episode or sorry segment two segment three segment four. They are as follows. I Have Jimmy Smith who is going to be sharing the more traditional model of how he sets the goals and breaks them down and figures out. You know if you have a sales goal for example you know. How do you take that sales goal and break it down into smaller pieces in bite sized chunks? Because you know how do you meet an elephant while one bite at a time and so? That's the more traditional route. We have Linda Joseph going to be talking about how she focuses. Because it's really all about focuses daily actions. How do take something bigger and focusing on what I really need to be working on? Today she shares her way of how she you can create a plan or out of things. You already have An Jim Cockram. This is a one of the episodes that I really love on his silence. Sales Machine podcast. That really was refreshing to me and I know it will be beneficial to you in the four segment. We're going to have him talk about his method. Which essentially. He doesn't bother with the traditional way because he feels like it just hasn't worked for him. Because either it makes you fall short or the new overachiever. You blow passer goals. And what good where they anyway and so he just feels like That it's better to focus on those daily habits those daily actions that will get you to achieve your goals anyway and so for when I heard his podcast episode. It was just really refreshing to me because guys I'll be honest with you. I feel like I've failed many times in haven't hit those things that I plan on hitting whether it was a weight loss goal or a business goal whenever it was. You know you fall short and you feel like you're a failure in fact I wrote about this In my email newsletter. That goes out every Friday. Along with the the the newest podcast episode announce In this was just a few weeks ago that I talked about how. It's crazy that we're already talking about twenty twenty and so this whole month to me. I've been thinking about what is twenty twenty. Looked like and I believe it's important to set aside some time to be thinking about it. Don't just go into twenty twenty with no plan whatsoever But I know it's some some of you guys get stressed out about it because you feel like golly. Oh so many times I've set goals and just not achieve Hawaii even bother while it's not do that either. So this episode. I hope it's going to be a blessing to you to know that there are different ways of doing this. That allow you to be successful. But don't just do nothing so in in that email I talked about how you know. I do write things down Bahira. My main three tips share a story and end with a quote here before we get into my guests but my three tips That I feel are what's worked for me is I. I write it down. Write something down. Put it down. Put Your your long yearly goals. But I'm actually going to be trying to focus more on. What do I WANNA do? Quarter one so January February march of twenty twenty. What are my main things? No let's not have fifty things. Let's have two or three main things that I want to be working on the quarter one so that by the end of March I will have compost those things that I want to focus on those so write something down in. Maybe it's best for you to focus just on that first quarter take action now guys. This is the thread that runs through all of the different guests. That you're going to hear over the next several minutes Is it all comes down to that daily action so you got to be doing something. It usually every day At least those five days a week doesn't mean you'd camp time to go do what you want but take action on it daily. Daily Habits. Those daily things are. What's going to get you to that goal? Anyway and review those goals often look at them often for me. It's I love having something visual that I can look at an vision board. Also know that your goals can be in Pencil. So they're not for those of you that are detail oriented are very strict about yourself Or feel like you know especially if you feel like you've been a failure before just know that your goals can be written in Pencil so that if you get into the middle of February. You're halfway through key one and you're you're not close well or for whatever reason you know you you you. You may be focused on other something else of. And that's another thing. I I really enjoy about my The interview I had with Jim is to know that as you're moving toward some of the things you've written down. I love having the opportunity to be open to opportunities. I love being open to seeing. What may what projects what new ideas could come and be the right idea for that time? It might push out a goal that I had in December for quarter one quarter two so I love having that openness about it. So that's another reason. Why being in Pencil is he so that you don't feel like you can't turn and go to a different direction if you feel. That's the right thing at that time. Because you're so focused known. I have to do this. This is what I'd planned out It doesn't mean that you're you know you're you're not focused. It just means that you you have some things that you feel like you're supposed to be doing in your moving towards but then you are still. It's a little bit fluid and so it's in Pencil so. I hope that's helpful but write something down guys at least Do that be taken action on it and then just know that you can. You can change it as you go along in my book streams of Income. I wrote in Chapter Seven there. Six little bullet points That I wrote down in the beginning of January two thousand nine. It was Before I was going into this business that we had with the furniture business when we started I had no idea how is going to support my wife? I just started being an entrepreneur but I wrote down that I wanted to have flexible hours. High pay work from home vacation time whenever I need it and great people to work with it. By God's grace or they'll thirty six one is a cause mission and a vision. I love and compassion about by God's grace Not Too long after that. Just a few into twenty two thousand nine I had decided to go all in on the online business thing in all those things came to.
