"We haven't said anything about the functional form like the outcome is a linear function of the kobe in the intervention. We haven't impose anything. So at this point i would say it's quite easy to make that link from the observed data the observe distribution to the counterfactual distribution. Because really the only thing we've imposed at this point is that relationship between the variables between no we observe two. That's how things actually happened. So i think that's kind of the beauty of this to the flexibility of this and also the ability to make things transparent like. Maybe you do know that. There is a linear relationship between the variables somewhere. But at this point where we have not said anything about that. Yeah great question. Yeah okay so then. The next step is to actually identify the cause parameters of function of the observed data distribution and the first so to get optimal rule we can identify the conditional average treatment effect as something that's called the whip function and i think the function got its name. Because so this back robbins. Jimmy robbins paper. I think the idea was kind of like a blip in the treatment effect for individual kind of person and so we can identify it. Let me actually let me back up for a second. So the assumptions that are needed to identify these two parameters are i the rams so no unmeasured compounders and positively assumption which says that for every kind of person in near kobe rates that there's a positive probability of getting treatment or cvt in this case because we're in the experimental setting we're in the ct setting those actually both hold by design and so we can assume those to be true and so now that we have kind of explicitly stated that observational setting. You can explicit we kind of make transparent what you don't think to be true. I think that's the beauty of the road. Map is that you can actually be transparent about where you think your subjects might not hold so then we can finally identified as the blip function the function being the outcome regression so the expected outcome given your treatment equals cvt and your co variants minus the expected outcome given treatment as usual and the co variants. And now if that's bigger than zero if that if the indicator of that is bigger than zero than treat that person if not don't treat that person so now we've identified it that as a function of what we can actually observe as opposed to counterfactual. Which is what we did in the third set at that makes sense. Yeah sounds like a fairly straightforward and coding. What you wanna see excessive impact exactly exactly. Yeah and then we can additionally identify the value of the rule as well in a similar way and then the next step is to estimate and a lot of my talk goes through that as well and so specifically to estimate the optimal rule. We use the super learner algorithm. Which is this ensemble machine. Learning method that takes into account different kinds of ways to estimate the optimal rule. There's been an explosion of methods in the literature of ways to estimate the individualized treatment roller optimal dynamic treatment. Rule also an explosion of different names for the same exact thing. What are some other names that we may have come across for similar ideas yet. Okay so optimal dynamic treatment rule optimal dynamic treatment regime individualized treatment rule regime personalized intervention. The list kind of goes off depending on your discipline..

Luke perry is without a job the coronado unified school. Board voted to release them but they took no action against any students. So in a statement. Jd larry the former coach says those actions were unacceptable and racist nature. He doesn't condone that behavior. "Actually when did you move to nashville. Officially when i was eighteen and i went to belmont university here in town See i've been here officially about like five years now. Twenty nine all the belmont music stuff. Oh hell yeah. I did the country showcase. I won that in twenty nineteen showcase. I did you go to know. I didn't Other friends who have been in it. And it's a big deal. Why tell our listeners. What the country showcase isabel mine. Yeah so basically. They highlight students at belmont that love to do music. They have different kinds of genres. They have the country showcase they have the rock showcase. They have the pop showcase but they do. Four students compete each year. And if you win your amongst other alumni like florida georgia line. Brad paisley also wanted to showcase so you play in front of three thousand people at the curb event center. It's it's nuts. It's so much fun and it's all student ran And it's it's one of the best ways to like cap off your senior year the new one that huh. Twenty nineteen remember Actually yeah the you do. Two original songs and a cover. Not the time. I was like trying to figure out if they even really wanted to do it. Full time. Because i'd been my whole life Until i picked two songs out of nowhere. Because i don't even think i was going to be able to make it into the showcase and when i did it was like two weeks to figure out what songs you're going to do so did to songs that i'd written when i was like fifteen then i was like well. This is something i can do. And then i did the cover of marianne morris is the middle and it was dope but the entire crowd was like jumping up and down kid so much fun and you competed against three other. Folks are any of them in town. Still trying to make it a music actually. Yes back so one of them. Is patrick murphy. Who is now signed to sony atv One of them to listen newton who was on sunland the tv show and then the other act was tiger lily. Who's also in the six one five house nowadays. Another tiktok thing. That i do so we all met through showcase and now we're still working together with that. So which is interesting. Because i'll see that puck across my tiktok feed some time so the six one five house. Tell everybody what that is before asking questions about it. Yeah so there's house is basically a country music hype house that i started with my friend. Chris ruediger about three months ago. And it's already at six hundred. Thousand followers are almost six hundred thousand followers. And basically we all get together at a house here in nashville and make ted talks and just main content to cross collaborate and we saw people loving country music people collaborate on tiktok and figured we'd make a whole ordeal out of it. That was the six one five. Oh that's thought. It was born whose houses in the same house every time. It's called east ivy mansion. It's an east nashville It's not our house but they let us use it because they're awesome and every time no nobody lives. I'd say because. I think people think that we live there but nobody lives there there because i would. I mean we kinda just like. Don't talk about it because we want people to assume that we live there but we we don't live there so i think in the new year we're hoping to like actually get house we can all live at and hang and what is this house has benefit. Let you guys come and hang out and make video so you pay them at all I mean i think we started recently To start out during covid it was a wedding venue and they just really weren't getting much business because of cova because obviously nobody could gather and so they were like hey you know we love entrepreneurial minds behind this idea and we'd love to host y'all for a few months she'll get on your feet with this idea and they were. I mean they were awesome about it. But now i think because i winning season kinda picking up and people are more lenient on everything We're we're having to pay to be being there but you can follow it on at six one five house at sixty five house. Is there any jealousy in the group whenever someone's featured a little more than others not at all weirdly enough and not even just like the politically correct answer like genuinely everybody is so supportive and hype each other up and if we put out original stuff on. Tiktok put videos like duet videos. We text in the group chat. And everybody's like hey. I'll hop on there and do it with you and i think because chris and i just take such a diverse group of people that we didn't really want that competitive nature but everybody's genuinely so supportive of everybody the house so it's we got lucky. I've met a couple folks. I think in the house like a before priscilla blonde got a record deal. She was up. Here is she. Part of the six one five house she. Yeah yeah she was. Yeah we're kind of just grabbing a bunch of different artists to try different things with But she was yeah. I think she was a part of one of the first weekend so we did it. Which was super fun. She was at the house filming with us the night before. Just about every you drop so so cool thomas. Mack wrote a song with him once. i believe. yeah he's awesome. He's crushing now and talk to. He's like super frightening. We such as well. He's definitely like the house like heighten. Like funny guy okay. Let me see here. let me see what. Let's see alan cooper allen. I'm looking at the list. I don't really know anybody else. But i'm sure i will tell ya. I mean chris. And i are tactically the bosses we think of it as a collaborative project of all the country music artists. That have deals that are known. Who do you think's killing it on tiktok right now. Oh gosh that's such a hard question I mean my friend really rose prussian at her son. come on. we're talking about artists. That people like morgan wall and like artists. That are already have mass appeal. I tell tiger arabia big deal eventually but right now. We're waiting on her. However who is the big ones you see and go dan. They're doing a good job even though they're not really as on it as they should be man at the hard question. I mean we're gonna crushes it. He's just great without steph. But i know. Luke bryan don. John tech talk quite a bit like dances and stuff. Thomas redmond crushing it just to name a few. So does the struggle. i don't know either. I asked you because i didn't know and i'm on it. Luke luke does some okay stuff actually showed luke the first time we were doing american idol to get us a here. Here's tiktok like what is that. Look at putting on you. He's like what the crap but okay all right. Healthy telltale kelsey does good. That's a good one. Mike when you agree kelsey over there one who else would you say. Might mean morgan. Wallin he. pops. I mean morgan. Like popped off on tiktok. Yeah that's how you know seven. Summer's launched on instagram. Right with a work tape and really thrived on tiktok. Yep yeah. Lastly it's crazy to see like how the country music community has just been blowing up on tiktok different songs like villain and just about every you and songs like that have just completely blown up because of that i. It's really cool. Okay well what's happened with you in two twenty twenty one so much new music. It's crazy Actually i'm still unsigned. I'm waiting just for the right deal. But i'm in the studio just finished up a couple songs with cms song of the year winner. Jimmy robbins like the bones for america s and pretty much like so my songs in the country music communities. I'm blessed to get to work within But i'm putting my first song out instead ury and pumped it's going to be a cool year. I don't know how it's really going to top twenty twenty and it's been a a rough interesting but also really cool year with music and i'm like what twenty. Twenty one just sucks. I don't know we'll see. Oh yes the attitude of an artist. What if it gets worse. Right at the ashley. Cook on tiktok instagram. That's ashley and then cook with an e at the end. The ashley cook with a es l. e. y. Lot of extra easier. Throwing me off. At ashley a. s. h. l. e. y. Cook coo. all right. Actually we'll get to talk to you. Congratulations on pretty solid into the year. And best of luck to you. Twenty twenty one. And i'm feeling that. I'll be talking to you again. Probably pretty soon. That means the real. Thank you so.

"Everything and that's why I love much because I. Like all over the place, you can probably tell and I don't like routine spontaneity and I like when things are different and so like for me like when you're touring and stuff like that kind of gets you get in a routine you're doing a pretty similar show every night and all that kind of stuff in. So songwriting like the, it's the question mark for me. It's like you never know when you're GONNA get inspired. You never know what you're going to write. You never know how it's going to turn out or where it's GonNa live if it's GonNa make out if it's not if it's going to be the song changes like you just never know and I think to me, that's what's so exciting like it's just a question mark so I don't know like this last. It was written all over the place mostly on the road because I was touring so much mostly tour bus honestly but like the the next project I'm sure will be a lot more isolated because that's a rat now. So it just kinda depends. Yeah. Yeah and I mean. I watched your persona of Song Land because I loved Song Lands, which is why like but I like hearing you talk so much about the songwriting because it does connect with obviously with that would that show was about and better luck next time I thought was awesome. So there's really like a cool combination there and it was like the first kind of show that they've ever really focused on the actual. On the actual writing what's like when you hear a song that is written by someone else what is Do you have a method on kind of how you tweak it or like. To try and make it. Sound like yourself I've only done that twice because I realize I really liked to be like from the ground up idea. One is Song Land One was. Next time in I mean the whole point for me going on the show personally I, was like I want to come out of this with something that I would have never written. I WANNA come out of this was a song that would have never happened if I had not show and so that's why I chose not song because it was like I love this this challenge is vocally but like let's go you know and that one I wrote the second person the bridge I got to be involved but it was his, you know his baby I was. The only other time I've done, that was a song on this album out the way I used to and. I was I had this friend, her name Steph Jones. She's an incredible writer and her voices like stupid. She's so good and. She. We were on the way to go riot and I was like I'm not mood like I don't have any idea tank's empty. Can you display me some stuff that you've written that you love and she played the demo of this guy singing the chorus of the way I use Joe, like sounded like a bieber track and I was like. I don't know what this isn't. I don't know why feel strongly about it but I need to be involved in the song she was like, okay and so I like had this course Guy Bieber asked sounding demo and I was like, how do I make it with the rest of this album is so we she the writers were Nice enough to like actually let me hop in and rewrite a lot of it and And now it's the one that you hear on the album. But this the only two times that I've taken an idea that wasn't mine in like yeah. Yeah and go ahead REA-. Insane go ahead you were mid go go go. Will we ever have an an interview where we don't do that I don't. And so it's hard when we're not in the same place. What I was going to say, Oh, why I was GONNA say was looking back on your instagram. I did see you know you're recording in the. Linen closet like was, is that how a lot of this new album was recorded and you know how I guess involved was your husband and all this if you need someone to help and. I'm assuming you're just with him. No I that's what I was working on what I was saying earlier like when I was just like I'm GonNa make a new album like that's what you on. This only project has come together in the last two months and so a lack I made it all with one person Jimmy Robbins and then we we went into the studio. It was actually really crazy in there were three musicians and they were all spaced out and wearing masks in like. It was just it was so different than anything else I've experienced but yet we actually all got in the room together and massed up like the Al. Lives. Okay well, that's good at least. You get a friendly there. Yeah. That's yeah. That must feel like does feel weird at first then you kinda get adjusted and you're like all right. This is the new normal or is it like weird? The whole time? It's weird the whole time I also like I'm such a hugger. That's like love language like I. WanNa. Hug You I like I. Want to high five UN things down good like that's how I want to be involved in. So I can't even like read people's faces anymore not like it and you don't even know if they're smiling be just so mad behind that mask and you just have no idea. Yeah, I liked you hate this like I don't know. Yeah Yeah. You also mentioned the song that you did with Halsey the other girl what's your relationship with hoc- because I fall we love her I'm obsessed with her and it seems like you guys have such a great friendship now. Yeah she's the best. So I. I met her when she played Nashville couple of years ago now but I've been a fan of for years like I just bought a ticket and one is a fan and she found out I was there and invited me backstage afterwards with a couple of my friends that I went last and And we ended up hanging out until they left to the airport the next day. So how we became really fast friends that I think you know like where around the same age and like we're just kind of wired the same way in a lot of ways where like we care a lot about putting out quality stuff in connecting with people through it and Using our platform for for good and. Then, also just being young women like trying to run a business and do it well, and like not feel like people are doing it for us and all of that stuff like we just clicked and so anyway, I wrote other girl..

"Who Do you think we'll win who deserves is to myself. I'm not even talking to you. Who Do you think will win the award. I think it's long overdue I. Think Erica Church is going to win this award. Okay I think Kerry wins because I. Think People felt like she got screwed over last year and that is going to affect the vote this year I. Think She Dan Shades this award where people think she should have won last year so like all crap, we can't forget her this year. So that's my pick Mike. Are you keeping notes on these? I'm keeping them here because chuck and I better thousand dollars on this. Okay. Have all the notes except unless I lose and there was never a real bit. Changes Okay Female vocalist, and we don't need all the clips on this one. Here is Miranda Lambert. Ashley McBride Merrin Morris Casey Muss Graves, and Carrie. Underwood. Mile. I. Yeah. I'm, GonNa go with I'm. GonNa go with. Maranda Lambert. Because of Bluebird because it was it went so well for her yeah I'm GonNa go with Miranda to she is that the voters critics darling and rightfully so in a lot of ways. But I'm. GonNa go with Miranda as well I. Don't think she'll win entertainer but I think she will won't be my vocalist that'd be weird because Kerry I think's GonNa win entertainer even though she doesn't win female vocalist. Which entertainers that technically the big one anyway did it'll be happy. You'll be happy. All right. Let's go to male vocalist of the year Eric Church Luke Combs Thomas Rhett. Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban Male vocalist of the year. COMES, Luke, combs, strong that's a strong pick. Yeah. And I could definitely see where Luke comes should win entertainer of the year because he had the biggest share however I think that the win male vocalist. Because People Mana can't get her, but we should give them the the second place award, which is male vocalist of the year. Chris Stapleton is the guy's got a beat, but I think he can do their right. Came out with the song little too late. You gotta realize people are voting like Chris Stapleton just came out with song, but all the boats were already in by that. Yeah, because they like last year or the year before and any put a music out people just like. Yeah people just like to vote for Stapleton and I don't blame him but yeah, I feel like. This year not. Included but like Maddie and TAE would get nominated for duo and then put music out in two years. So you know just sometimes the voting is weird. Okay. All right. What were the same their song of the year? Now this is a songwriter award. So Bluebird from Random Lambert. Written by Luke Dick Natalie Heavy and Miranda Lambert. That's number one. The bones. And Morris Jimmy Robbins and Laura Volts. Even. Though I'm leaving by Luke Comb songwriters Lou. Combs Wyatt d'arret and ray full chapter. I. Hope you're happy now by Karl. Pearson. Libra songwriters Luke Combs Randy Montana Carly Pearson Jonathan Singleton. and. Finally, more Hartson mine by angered Andress. Britain by Ingrid. Sam. Ellis Derek Sutherland Chill. bloomer the bones even though I'm leaving hope you're happy now and more hearts demise go ahead. Definitely a tough one for me because a lot of friends and glory a lot of songs that I like you know preference to I'm GonNa go with the bones though. This is a good one. That's it. there. Yeah that's a good but there are four of these five that I can actually see winning I really can't see I. Hope you're happy winning. WAS GONNA ask You There's no way I. Hope you're happy. Now when's good for them for being nominated? It just wasn't that big of a song. It was a number one, but it wasn't like. Career defining for anyone. To people to get their yeah that's right and you. I'm. GonNa. Go ingored andress more hartson mind because that's song is written. From A. Perspective never heard an a song before. Like it's a love song but it's a love song not between two people love song between like, Hey, if we break up. Okay. Well, that sucks but you've heard all my family to and I'd never heard that song before. That's true I. Don't disagree with that. I. Say the bones. Bones is because it crossed over had. Had hit over and pop world as well. So huge Song Yup. Again, and then you can argue Lou combs because he's freaking Luke combs and that songs amazing and then Bluebird by Miranda's her first number one in years and but but I'm going to anger going and Morris. All right. All right. Now to the new artist of the year. You never nominated for new artist either chuck what the crap though I was actually really disappointed in Allen I- Kelsey Ballerina about one I would've. Twitter was hot back then and like all that stuff I would've been tweeting away. Nominated so. Did you do you remember the morning like you're waiting knowing that nominations were coming out? Yes I. Actually it was a lady antebellum James. Auto and myself we announced all the nominees Oh. No you. Yes and guess what? James was nominated lady A. I'm for sure. I was the only one that stage I'm like, yeah. Let's take a picture nominees. Everybody who got nominations to take one step forward. All right you. Chuck. That sorry because that's that's like, okay, we go new artist of the year. Jimmy Allen. Ingrid Andress. Gabby Barrett Carly Pierce and Morgan Wallin. Now. What's interesting is carly was up last year too. So this is their second I'm being on new artist of the year. The rest are first timers who got. I have. Morgan law one in this one. Why's that? Because he's the only. Artist I think not even new artists. When seven summer's came out when I go for a run every day I, put on the top fifty stream songs right like I'm like what's hot? What's hot right now and he was up there with all the pop songs like he was he was like number three. And he did that. I mean I I don't think I've ever seen. That yeah I mean him in Luke homes the guys that have just separated themselves in the streaming world. I'm picking Morgan Walla to for the same reason that he's just separated himself from all of the all those guys I had great new artist years more than while I had a great year for anybody in the format like cinema an amazing year. And I'm also. I think you'll probably you may relate to this is that I'm around country music so much like the current countries being made, I don't really gravitate to loving a whole lot of things because I'm right in the middle of it. But when I do I'm like man this is so freaking good and that's how I felt about Morgan Wallin stuff. Although Jimmy Allen did do a song Nellie that is kind of cool and Gabby more Charlie Booth Guinea did subway commercials come on. He didn't think about that. All right. Morgan. Wallin. We're pretty similar. Most of these. We got a few more here. Let's. Purpose up on purpose going forward. Vocal Group of the year. We'll play some clips on this one. Up I is lady. Antebellum. Lady a sorry there you. Know I know I know what are they in late? No, we're not edit messed up apologizing. Lady A. Also is little big town..

"What's up with that song and that's not come about. Riders are treats baby. You know how they go. Mommy and me and some buddies went on a retreat and Bobby for once. I tried to write a song that has zero meaning whatsoever. I just wanted people to dance. And Lo and behold trout corona virus came along and You know maybe that's what people need. But yeah just having a good old time with buddies Jimmy Robbins on marriage. I can Matt Jenkins Josh Osborne. Big Big team to write that song on with us right now Walker Hayes and you're a guest on my super easy Trivia game show. You got the question in the category of famous slogans and your slogan was Good and I thought that was the easiest one we had on the list. You did not know as Campbell Soup. I was stunned. Even if you're not listening build those dreams. That's what I say all right Yup Walker. Good to talk to you my friend back above show. This story comes from Elkhart County Indiana. A twenty five year old man was going one hundred and twenty miles an hour on the highway when police pull up next to him and say pull over pull over. He thought they were getting hand motions. Let's race so he kept going. Oh Wow Hey. Let him on a twenty five mile chase until he pulled over and got arrested. Wait so I would assume there was alcohol involved. There had to be right. No he really there. They said he was charged with reckless driving and several moving violations but no alcohol involved. He really thought they wanted to race. Wow what don't you have to be drunk to think that though is my question. Wow I would. I have a lean on drunk. I would all right. Is that it. I'm much. That's your boneheads story. Today it's time for the good news. Johnny Morris is the founder bass pro shops and he's decided to donate one million. Fda approved face Matt's for first responders or anyone in the healthcare. That needs these face masks. I guess it's a thing right. Now that people are more facemask stepping up to do that and basically if there's an bass pro shop or Kabila's in your town. Those masks are going to those cities. Wow Hey listen we are a bass pro shop show also Eddie goes. I guess it's a thing now like the whole new like every single story on the news for the past. Two months hasn't been that. Healthcare workers need mass. Apparently there's some virus running around. I saw the tweet yesterday. Well Shoutout Bass Pro Cabela's that's awesome. Obviously we love them But making a difference. Everybody's making a difference. I love it. That's what it's all about. That was tell me something. Good every hour. We bring positively. It's called tell me something good. We've we've done it for fifteen years. I remember when we came up with this segment. Everybody Kinda told us as a dump segment we used to it at five and six o'clock in the morning only remember way back in the day. Yeah if it's definitely early early and what happened was we started doing this segment and we have something radio called research and they started testing the segment and it was like our highest testing segments. So we started doing it more because we love doing the segment. Anyway we love positively and finding a good way to look at things and so then other radio show started doing it the next thing you know. It's all over the country. Were super proud of that. And it's really become something where known for and that song is a real song that Chaka Khan tale something good it's like Rufus and Chaka Khan on the radio. I'll be at the grocery store I know here. Don't get down the down. And I'm like all that so weird but we've become known for this after fifteen years and I love it. And there's a pastor at Trinity Church in Oklahoma. His name is Brian Mills. He's a senior pastor there and he referenced in his sermon. This last Sunday ago. Now I want to give you a little update. Can I give update? Y'All y'all fired up. We gotta get a little update term. Something good is bobby bones. That's off Bobby bojars countryman. You don't listen to country. You know bobby he's from Arkansas. Something good anyways. And that's like I feel like he started rambling because he was looking on the crowd and maybe nobody knew who. He's talking about crowd. If you remember there's no it's just sitting keys and so there's the wasn't getting any bag. Oh Yeah Yeah Yeah. Yeah that makes sense. I feel like I. I'm watching Church online too and I feel like my pastors. Have something similar where they don't know if what they said is it's resonating the way they thought it. Would they awkwardly keep talking well Bryan Mills? Two four seven is his name. Brian Mills. Twenty four seven Just want to say thanks to him for for what he's doing and keeping everybody spirits up and throwing us a shout out there in the middle.

"Excuse me new record. Kelsey is out today. Let's talk about. Which of these songs did you feel? Like was the most vulnerable where you're like. I don't know if I put this out. It's going to kind of press back on me a little bit. La I I. I write a song by myself on every album. And that tends to be the most honest. Because it's kind of the tug of war of me loving traveling and loving working but also really newly understanding the value of home and like putting route send somewhere. I didn't didn't really know that before the this last season of life. So it's about that it's also about. This is the first album where I wrote outside of Nashville. It was the first album that I wrote with people that weren't necessarily country songwriters our country producers. And so I kind of had this moment of panic of like. Oh my gosh if I put beat drop in this song instead of a Banjo or people are gonNA think that I'm jumping ship and That's what the line in. That song says we'll Tennessee. Be Mad at me. It's it's kind of a tug of war of all those things. Ooh Call them cool in. Tom Is one of them. It sounded though. The Sunday's stay silver Friday morning conversation with Kelsey Ballerini. Who's your most famous friend? The you could call without going. Hey I'm gonNA call you later. Lady just randomly call you just call or not just hitter up. Yeah because you know. There's there's friends they can call for advice. There's also friends that you can be like. What are you doing? How's tour? How's your boyfriend John's dog? Yeah so Halsey would be your most famous chicken friend. I think so. Who would be the most random person that's famous that we know you call and you could just call up. We'd be like wow. I didn't know Kelsey knew this person like someone really random Chelsea handler. Okay that's good at random we do you do on. I was reading that you eat ranch on your stake I do. I'm trying to get better. Come trying to be an adult and adults. Don't put ranch on stage. He's a big ranch on. Lots of stuff got ranch pizza Fisher like steak I I do catch up okay. I think all the southern southern thing no more than a thing yeah condiments on our meets regardless of how fancy them that's true. I have a sophisticated enough palette. Yeah and growing up like we didn't have like fillets like like T. bones or whatever. So yeah you need from the dollar store. Clearance Maitland. Something on it on On reddit this they do ask me anything because I was GONNA ask you a few questions here. The the these are some of the questions they asked people your first online username ballet mania. That was my first email ballet mania dot com like valley dance ballet the dance. I danced for ten years and I like really loved it but then I was like everyone's GonNa keep saying Oh Ballerini the bell arena you know and then I also like hit puberty and got really long. I'm like super like Tallin Linke now so I lost all my coordination but yeah. I was obsessed with ballet for a long time satellite mania when they retired. Am where'd you like him? Chapter a season to season of life. Yeah One more from the The Ama what's the most successful prank? You've ever pulled when I was still living KNOXVILLE. I had this X. You know as you do and I wanted to pull prank on him so I I've catered as yard. Have you heard of this working soaping? What's a tater? So you get a bunch of instant mashed potatoes and you sprinkle them all over the yard and you let the hose run. Oh that's turns the mashed potatoes. Many boxes of mashed potatoes is that oh I mean we cleaned out kroger. Was He living on his own or with our bet. They were not happy with you. I bet they were not happy with. We would buy toilet paper to roll people's houses and when we were doing we'd go any three cases of toilet paper and they would go. Okay Kid when you go and buy a bunch of mashed potatoes and the only thing. It's like Thanksgiving early or something Kelsey Ballerini. Her new record called Kelsey is how you self titled. This is why I think it's kind of me doing a lot of self discovery that felt like it was a first name basis album. How long have you and Morgan Been Married now? Two and a half years. What's a piece of a marriage advice that you would give to people going Kelsey? Gay Marriage of ice therapy got it. There is that something that you were given as advice. No actually like we didn't do any therapy like premarital or anything like that. I always had like a really negative connotation with therapy But then you know we don't have normal lives and we don't have normal schedules and that kind of stuff and so we were like you know what? Let's get ahead of this and let's make sure that we're in a healthy place all the time and let's also be able to call out when we're not and have helped So yeah I would. I would highly recommend it would twenty six-year-old kills till sixteen year old Kelsey. She'd give her a hug I don't know I think there's so much beauty and being naive I really do so I would. I would not tell her anything. I just gave her house. The dog has dibs do. How did they go training? Dibs like what was that scenario. I'm struggling a bit. Yeah it's it's tough I mean in the Lavenham is super dislike floppy and playful all the time so when he's not with us or my mom with a trainer and she helps them with all that but he he's five and he just now became like a good boy at five thought. We're working on the good boy with mine. He has moments of good boy then. He has the Devil Devil our twice a day. Especially it's like zoom. He's like if he's has energy just ready to go. He is the devil but he's so cute. I don't care. Did you have your phone with you? you don't have to okay. What's your background wallpaper on your phone? They gotTa Devil is your dog. You know what so is mine actually? Yeah Yeah what's Morgan's is that a view or is it. It's us on vacation does he. Now 'cause dibs round before Morgan was around. He's like I love you. Know he knows what a piece of advice for another artist has stuck with you. We talked about advice. You would think back to you being and you still are probably still taking advice. I think we all should be taking advice all the time who who talked to you early and was like. Hey Kelsey this is gonNA happen. Was Taylor but Taylor. When I was on radio tour and I was so worried about like miss stepping or saying something wrong or not being eloquent you know because I was so young and I remember going to her and just being like you did this young one of like what do I do and she was it was like you're just you're over thinking everything you go in and talk about if you can't talk about your music like this is what you do know what you should be able to talk about it and don't worry about boundaries. Also another great piece of advice from her was years later. I was like Hitler. How do you make friends? Now how do you know who your friends are now? And she said it's the people that you hang out with the don't always leave with a photo just to prove that you were together morning. Conversation with Ballerini WANNA play a clip of the song that you did with Kenny. Gosh called half of my home is it. Yeah there's not ever written y. Oh I just think it really captures how I feel right now about me. Being gone a lot needs starting to understand the value routes. It's really where I'm at right now. You can Chesney on a song. Oh my gosh you call them to somebody had like a blackout moment of boldness. You know me like. I'm not a bold person. I'm like pretty chill but like we wrote the song and I wrote it with Shane. And Jimmy Nicole and Ross. And he's worked with all of them. You're seeing a lot of names. You need to give flash names here Shane. Mcnally brass copper men. Jimmy Robbins Nicole Galleon. And they've all worked up Kinney and we wrote the song Down in and did the vocals that night. It was like two. Am and I was like you guys. I have to send to Kenny. He's my hometown hero. He's from Knoxville. He makes Knoxville cool. Like I have to send us to him just to see and And I had his number because a couple of years before he was up in New York and I was playing the play station theater the one in Times Square like a couple of weeks later but they have a scrolling marquee of WHO's playing and I guess he like saw my face and my name on the marquee took a photo of it got my number and just sitting out of the blue he said. Hey this is Kenny. Chesney proud of you hometown girl. He's and I. It was like two and a half three years ago in a so encouraging to me at that point so I had his number because I saved it and Then you just cinema song. I just a song. Nice Nice for you on any other day. I don't know but I did. Yeah and what's his response key texts the next day and he was like this made me emotional listening to it. I love it. I'm proud of you. Let me figure out my plan. Because he's putting out music too And make sure that I can like really aligned and do this with you. And then he came back and he was like. I'm down how that's pretty cool here. It is. Here's half my hometown from Kelsey and Kenny. Chesney.

You switch amy so there's a church in richmond virginia and they wanted to make sure that kids had new shoes to wear for the school year. It's called the new shoes for back to school ministry and they were able to give away two thousand shoes this year when they first started this twelve years ago oh they donated about seven hundred shoes and she's been going up since then and over the years they've given away more than eighty two thousand shoes eighty two pair journals like so i mean i'm sure when they started this. They never thought they'd be looking back. I mean soon. They're gonna be at one hundred thousand shoes and that's a big deal offer kids to go back to school with a new pair yeah pretty awesome. That's awesome. That's what it's all about. That was telling me something good on the bobby bones show now kelsey. We'll see ballerini morning. Hey everybody kelsey valerie a big day. For how about this big day new songs out how you feel like christmas. I'm breaking out. I'm so excited. I wonder an artist as yourself when the song comes out but at midnight midnight midnight. Are you on twitter looking to see if people are going to say about immediately. I'm refreshing my page till this phone. Call absolutely yeah yeah yeah. I mean you know i i wrote the song in february but finally out like if i've been living with it for so long and like you know made the video and all that stuff upset finally get it out like i just i just wanna know people. I get so what's up with the question mark by the way chelsea ballerinas on the song is called homecoming queen. That's how i say it. Tell me queens homecoming queen. It was last minute decision to do that. <hes> because the full songs like hook of the song is even the homecoming queen christ but that's not the question the whole the whole rest of the song is just asking <hes> this person like you know if they're okay and wider covering up or not and to me you know i wrote this nicole galleon. Jimmy robbins and the galleon was the homecoming queen. I was very far from queens. <hes> we both the different perspectives on it but in internet he's kind of being a metaphor for you know the people that we feel like kind of have it all together seemingly on on the outside and no one really all the time and i think that especially in today's world especially with social media we kind of just show the highlight reel of our lives and <hes> and i just kinda wanted to like strip it back for a minute and and for me personally just be like you know what sometimes it's okay to not be okay and it's okay to be human in have those raw real moments <hes> no matter what your life looks like and i think that's why so excited about it because i've never been anything like this before. Kelsey ballerini arena on the phone with us new song is out today which you ride the thing in february when you this is one of the songs that you wrote and you go oh this is for sure gonna make the record and for sure be the single or is it. Did it gonna wanna pile when you guys were like okay. What do we think now this was. This was for sure the first single it was crazy. We've never released their certain times that i write and we're like okay. That's definitely a a single but i don't think we've ever had this is the first single on the next record before so <hes> yeah we we wrote it and working on that weekend. My mom came on that weekend and every time we played it for someone. We got like a single tier house like cats. We're gonna play any we plan all morning. We'll played in a second. I got a couple of other things when asked about <hes> euro in your role with ed sheeran jillian michaels ryan ted right him with all these massive popstars and are any. I know you haven't hit acidini thing about this or any of them on the record. If our rations <hes> no i i do as of now i mean. I'm still working on the record. It's not done yet. I think on nine songs done <hes> now. I do have to collaborations but it's not with people that i wrote with which is kind of kind of funny 'cause i got to write with <hes> yeah yeah like the insurance of the world but <hes> no they're not. They're not on it as collaborators just writers when you were on last time you gave us the word home right was give us one word in the song and she said holmes john's right and it was fantastic the best that would've been so mysterious that would have been now can do it again. And the response, you know, this entire lead up to the record has been so positive and. Yeah, it's all good things looking forward to it. Like, it's it's just generally a really intimidated piece of music, which is cool. It says a lot about you root for you. Thank you. Do you feel like everybody's rooting for you? Yeah. I honestly. Well, especially in this community. I feel very embraced by the Nashville peeps. And then yeah, I just I've seen such a crazy windfall of I guess people being aware of my voice, especially after the middle. And just I feel like everything's been so widespread now. And obviously your second record is scary. Because you know, no one really knew who I was when I released hero. So there's a few more is on at this time around. And but it feels great. Honestly, I'm so proud of it. I don't think you can be embarrassed our nervous about something that you truly love and are proud of. And I think that I'm just in a good good place.
