Remember the carshield's there was like a cowboy and it was supposed to be the jimmy dean guy but oh my gosh. I never thought about that if we are to believe i am. Db jimmy. dean is a distant cousin. Of james dean. Wow that's really factually exciting okay. Well you guys contemplate that. I'm going to chat about our next item. This is a sweet earth protein lovers breakfast bowl another breakfast. Another frozen item. This bill actually comes with the egg so its cage free eggs plant based sausage and plant based bacon in the form of a scramble in a bowl so this is the whole bowl. it's huge. Is it heavy in. The bowl is larger. But it's not gone. Yeah but we. How many calories full okay. So this has two hundred and eighty calories thirteen grams of fat twenty grams of protein. Eight smart points. It smells good but so the idea here is that it's sweeter so it is. I don't understand it plant based it's egg so it's not vegans vegetarian right. Thanks this is real based is usually no but it's real egg cage free got it. Yes so what's plant based is the sausage and the bacon scramble But relax. I like it. It's good high. "Change gears a little bit on the pep talk today. Hamlet talk about flexibility if you will. Here's the quote. I got for you now. The quotas attributed thank pull us out of a book of poetry. They have to a person named jimmy dean. The only jimmy. Dean i can think of is the sausage guy so i don't know if jimmy dean sausage guy made this quote arthur's a difference jimmy. Dean wasn't the sausage guy. I love sausage if this is jimmy. Dean sausage guy. That's great. i just can't imagine a sausage guy who's gonna be quotable. But here's what i got attributed to one jimmy. I can't change the direction of the wind. But i can adjust my sales to always reach my destination and again treated to jimmy dean. So i saw this in my book of quotes. I liked it. And i thought i would talk to you all about this. The first point. I wanna make about this particular quotas. The thought that. I have a destination right to have a place that i intend to go to. That would be the opening stroke in structuring a successful life or a successful careers accessible families successful relationship to have a destination place that i'm going. I know i want to go here with my life. I know i want to go here with this project. Ama- place that. I want to go so now. How do we get there. Of course you're going to set a course. Right as jimmy dean. Maybe the sausage guy. Says i can't change direction of the wind so the analogy here is you are being pushed motivated projected by forces that you can't control the wind. We have no control over that. And if we think about it in our life when we're trying to achieve goals reaching destination our life whether it's our personal life or professional life so much of what pushes us is out of our control and it doesn't mean that our life is out of control. It just means that the circumstances that are going to either help or impede us from getting to where we wanna go out of our control by nature. That's going to be the case. So i can't change the direction of the win but i can adjust my sales to always reach my destination and what i take from that is. It's really not so much the sales it's my attitude. I can't change direction win. But i can adjust my attitude. So circumstances may be impeding my quest to reach this destination that i cannot control but of my Reaction to these circumstances changes. And i become more positive about what is going to of course be a negative influence. Because it's getting in my way of to where. I wanna go if i can take a positive attitude about it. Turn it around. Make it work for me. Net depends upon what we're talking about specifically but it's possibility it's something that you can do. We can and you always have been able to turn negative things in depositors. You'll making lemonade out of lemons. Nets take mostly from this quote that you can't control the wind. You can't control your circumstances but you can adjust your attitude. Make changes to what you're doing to accomplish this mission to finish his project to get to that destination. You can still get there. You've got to change your approach. It's kind of like this old scientific process right. You try one thing and if it doesn't work now you know what doesn't work you try something else. He changed your position with your sales and try something different. And that's what we have to do in life. Don't get in a right. Don't keep trying to do the same thing over and over again. If circumstances change you have to change. It's just that simple. That's hard to do. Simple say but hard to do. I get that changing your attitude changing your strategy in a in avoid. You don't really know what's going to work until you try it. That's a challenge but really folks isn't that what makes life worked living the challenge so when you find yourself in a wind that's blowing yuna wrong direction or your wind has changed directions. Just gesture sale adjuster attitude. And you'll make it to the destination.

"So when you hear Jimmy Dean, you think of Sausage sausage. Yes, I read this. And I wasn't too excited about what they're putting out. It sounds kind of gross to me. Jimmy Dean now has two varieties of breakfast nuggets in its lineup of morning food. I don't even like those words together, correct this nugget. Okay, So what it is is one version is sausage, egg and cheese. And the other one is made up of chicken, sausage, egg and cheese. Each breakfast nugget is rolled in crumbs to give you that nugget experience. People love big. How big God, I think they're like fucking a girl size or chicken nuggets McDonald's nugget side quality questions. You know, I think they're a little bit bigger than McDonald's Nuggets. But I just don't want to bite into something that has like Good bye, Chris. She I love cheese as we all know, but I don't want to bite into some weird nugget that has egg. I don't know. It's like, Are they gonna mix up the egg and the sausage together and the cheese so that it's one solid thing. Are they separate products inside? That sounds dicey Eerste on the cafeteria. They will put a whole bevy of breakfast crap into one of those tiny little serving containers. And when I first saw one of these, I thought, Oh, my God. That is the worst idea ever. But I'm gonna soldier through, And by the time I was halfway through it, I knew I had to go back down to the cafeteria and get form or because it was the most delicious thing I had ever tasted. Oh, no, It's not Danny. No, it wasn't a nugget. It was served loosely, but it was egg and this and that, and sausage and potato. And what now? You mean like a scramble thing? Yeah, but it was. Yeah, but it was everything that you would find on a breakfast plate. All tossed in one container. Yes. And I thought, Oh, this is gonna be horrible. And it was the best thing I had ever had seriously with hash browns. I know what you're talking about. That's great. Dawn and I used to eat that daily in the early days of the pandemic. Did we done? Yeah, tha then I was like, Why am I not fitting into my clothes? Like okay, Well, you're here. That's why I got really good food in the morning. That's about 500 Calories. Yeah, I don't know. It's just It's the It's the scary experience of biting into it and not knowing what kind of street Uh, I think I'd have to cut it open and expect first. And I got to tell you Nuggets are great, and this may be a controversial take butt nuggets are great for your lunch. They're good for your supper. As my father in law says, I don't know if I want Nuggets for breakfast. That's not nugget isn't a breakfast item. That's just me. Give me a nugget. Give me a nugget around 12 30. Yeah, I don't know if I want a nugget at six A.m. brunch. Chug it. Yeah, Yeah, I don't I don't. I don't like that. I don't want that. I love a nugget. Not at breakfast. I don't know. And I mean that I'm not being silly. I think it's just that I know, know, know Also, you got to think this is going to come to you in a frozen form, So it has to have some type of. Ah, like if I want a nugget, I would put these things in an air fryer because you don't want to microwave it. It's going to get mushy. Some mushy egghead might explode. Exactly. I'm scared of this. I don't like it at all. No, we don't like this Jimmy Dean. It's reminds me of something that I've recently become aware of the cheesy tots, which are bigger than normal Tater Tots and she's are inside and I've been to more and more. Bars and restaurants up here that have these things in all my career, so unbelievably good. But yesterday the roommate came home with some from Cub Deli. Have you tried them from Cub Deli? No, no, really, Exceptionally good, but real life to be. They have to be consumed warm. I tried one cold and I almost lost it. Yeah, put it in the microwave warmed it up and it was on believing I could see myself eating that because it's potatoes and cheese. But this is like sausage, egg and cheese and then world in Breading. Unpaid researcher Phil Jones. Just sent sent tweeted us a picture. No. Now I'm even further Not convinced. No, no, no, no, no, I'm seeing the bag. I'm seeing the packaging. No! Oh, No, that's a lunch item nuggets or lunch items. I'm sorry, hardline. I'm drawing in the sand on that one so much as I hate it. When people say Stick to traffic, dummy, I'm gonna have to Say that Jimmy Dean, stick to sausage, dummy. That's right. Stick to sausage. That's my motto on a Saturday, Um let me be I'm gonna do. I'm gonna do my continuing syriza that I call still getting it done, right, Dave Still getting it done? That's right. Because all I do is not all I do, but The point of this ongoing Syriza's the fact that sometimes food writers on Lee right about the new, flashy things, and there are hundreds of restaurants in our area that don't get the publicity's. They can't afford PR firms to help them and but day in and day out, they kick earth and they need some light shining on them. So that's why I'm going to do this for a while again. What's it called Dave Still getting it done? That's right, Um And today it's my beloved Pine Brook. Now Pine Brook is I don't even it's not a townie bar, but it is a Tony restaurant. It's right smack dab in the middle of like Princeton Cambridge area. And it's where basically we live in the summer because it's by the my in laws of Lake House, so and I'm going there for the first time this season tonight, and I'm As I'm sitting here talking to you find people. I couldn't care less about you because one thing is going to the bar tonight. I don't care about this show. I don't care about vertigo. I don't care about anything. All I care about is in a few hours. I'm going to have my first taste of the fish fry of the cabin season anyway. But and I know And I mean this. Todd and Theresa husband, wife, it own it. Don I took you there, right? You've been to the Pine Brook. Didn't you deny your cabin weekend? I feel like I haven't Okay, it is in and people look down, sometimes at these local little little mom and pop restaurants and then and I don't know That's where the magic is. Ladies and gentlemen, that's wets where the magic is. And Todd and Todd has been in the restaurant business. For years. He was a trainer for Jimmy Buffett for Jimmy Buffett's restaurants, so he knows the ins and outs of restaurants.
Is Jimmy Garoppolo Proving To Be a Disappointing Player?
"The next quarterback. I wanted to ask you about is one that I it pains me to ask you about them because there's so many reasons why Jimmy Garoppolo has not turned off to be aware that any of us want. He was going to be or wanted him to be if you're a fan of his yeah same time. You know, how much Bill loves him the night or said? Well, we know almost he'd loved loved loved. That's we know what we don't know. He loves him loves his past tense. We don't know she loves them now. That's fair. That's the thing people keep on saying that bill loves Gigi that's based on his actions from several years ago. We don't know he loves Jimmy Dean now. I am of the opinion that I don't know how built who's who keeps on saying availability is an ability can love Jimmy G. It's a great point and I think that the the other point that I wanted to ask you about obviously capitalised was home. At twenty-five million this until we won in twenty-five million in 2022. And I think that it gets confusing for people when you're acquiring the contract via trade how exactly that carries over on Thursday. Next teams

Because i'm like those guys need to go away but but yeah that's an indicator of the of age for me more than anything right now. Yes physically i. I mean now that. I got this forty year old neck down thing my head. It's thing yeah pops are the big one. I've been popping a lot. But and then i think i just can't eat what i used to eat. My stomach is release. more sensitive. masonic vary like which they say happens in your thirties. Just eat things and do things. And i do get sore real easily. Besides that. i'm okay. I don't think too. Many grey hairs winded really easily. I'm just tired. Get winded easily because of the doorman. See just like the fact that we're just so dormant so dormant really barnacles in our homes. But yeah i The popping the not being able to eat things. Like i used to things. But besides that. I'm doing and then just the general realization that there's they were middle middle age-ish i guess is Is is interesting but uh yeah not not too many physical things yet. Yeah most of it is is like psychological and then and then it's like the grey hairs and then it's lake. I got some of those. That's for me. It's just yeah it's psychological because it's like getting older or is this. Just yeah do you know what is really affects me now in regards to the psychological side of it and what you just said elliott with the middle aged of it all you know ten years ago articles that said this fifty something year old died of a heart attack or some other like age related. Like your body. Just shut down without your control. Type thing didn't really like get on my emotional radar aside from the empathetic. Like i'm sad for that person but now i read those and i'm like raw real close. That's all soil. Not far away at warning will robinson kind of deal or whatever. I wish there was something that could be done. But i'd i'd love to check in on this pizza one more time. All right guys. We're at the end of watch. Twenty twenty steve's got a final update on the field. I think we have hit our stretch goal. Thirteen minutes Let's cut steve. How's how's it looking out there and it's pizza god's i hope steve has just a piece. I'll tell you guys i this this you know. I'm the one that keeps bringing this bit back even though there isn't an ending for it because i certainly don't have pizza And it's just. I wouldn't eat a pizza after thirteen minutes. Let's just be honest about that. Don't put a pizza in the microwave for thirteen minutes. And that's the lesson that we learned from this. Steve ending the with a nice hungry real vulnerability forever but listen. I wouldn't eat it. I need to say that out loud. You shouldn't do it. Don't don't do that but we'll do it for real and then you'll see how bad it is and then you really won't wanna do. I think we might want to do it. Because it's in quarantine we should microwave the pizzas and then mail them to one another to our doorstep. Then we gotta wipe down with like bleach to make sure they're not infected with anything and then ate it and we'll you no. I mean the way we should do it is is we each. Get a random thing. Like elliott gets pizza. I get like a frozen sandwich like breakfast sandwich. Like one of those like mcmuffin sandwiches. Jimmy dean jimmy dean zoo. I just finished a box of twenty four of those yesterday. Oh okay so then what you do. The jimmy deans. I'll slice pizza. And joe will do a burrito save burrito and you guys each have to film your own version of what five minute increments of that is as it goes on until you get to the most disgusting parts and then we edited into a big video. We're all doing our own versions of it but it's gonna. I don't hate that you also came up with another youtube. Channel called male guys where we are constantly just sending packages to one another or the male males. Maybe it's males and we don't say what we're sending to each other. Avenue is an unboxing mailman. Every video is an unboxing of what the person centered and it could be anything. It could just be like mashed potatoes in ziplock bag fun. That's a fun idea and you have to go through it. You have to experience it and maybe it's always just something like you don't know what it's going to be in the delivery systems going to be but maybe it's a negative and positive in every package so ziplock bag full of cold spaghetti o's but inside of it is like many pop action. Figure that steve with love or something like that the negative and the positive. Yeah or like just like we send elliott like an air fryer or something and then now elliott has an air fryer. That'd be great like this. Yeah it could be fun shit like that we send so you're just want to give gifts but sometimes they're weird like it's a bag of macaroni and cheese in action really nice. Yeah you never. Because you're gonna get. It could be positive it could be also like just getting things in the mail from your friends is great right. Feels nice right. I like that. Wow mailman this has been like this. Not only been a creative meeting for the valley folk. It's also been a podcast and so what we're doing is we're just really condensing the business practices of this company to an hour of time. And i think that's really productive. And i'm proud of us. I agree. I agree steve. I think it's a really and if you wanna send me an ear fryer at any point. They seem great. They really seemed like a really wonderful. They are wonderful product though. I feel like we're wrapping up a little bit here. But i do want to say that i watched phenomenon. You guys over. You have odom humidity. Great okay so we. We said we were going to talk to whitney about this. But we talk to you about it and then we'll talk to whitney about it again. Another time but can bring her in for like a small segment podcasts. Yeah i just wanted. Can we talk about it right now. Or should grading. Okay okay because elliott. And i were talking about it quite a bit before. We recorded the whitney podcast. And then we were like. Oh man we got to talk about it on the podcast and then we got sidetracked. His whitney's great and wasn't whitney's fall really. I mean you know is just it was awful but yeah she's not great what he's talking about. She terrible person do life. But i will say that. Give the synopsis real quick. Tell everybody what phenomenon. And it's basically just like a really comprehensive dive into the study of. Ufo's from like the fifties all the way to current day and delve so deeply into it. That by the time it's over you're like wow so i mean there's basically just proof that there have definitely been unidentifiable object. Yes if you don't believe atmosphere you believe by the end of it for sure. One hundred percent is undeniable by the time. You're done with it. And it has nothing to do with like bias. Or the filmmaking. Necessarily has everything to do with the fact that they just compiled real shit that you can find yourself on the internet and see for yourself that like just proves it essentially just proves that like. I don't know if it's aliens it's it could be. Technology created here that only certain people have access to somehow berge. Johnson's share their stuff. Yeah but nice we know it basically just proves that. There's there's definitely unknown shit to us that you can see and hear professional people who have dedicated their lives to discovering these things. Talk about ed great lengths. "On the flight. Hey how's your fleet terrible. We kept humming the whole song about some giant guy says worst and I just want. That'd be like what am I gonNa bring like Munchkins or something like the Mark Joe. Can you put it where your harmonica. Thanks for trying to watch the movie. The song was inspired by an actor named John. Minto that Jimmy Dean had met during summer stock play They did distri rides again and John Minto was six foot five and then called him big John Oliver really really clear. I like that. He had to fib tip about his height. He's like five not tall enough up and he's gotta be six six fiction. That's how take no this isn't about you know. Also sure 'cause I died in a mine remember the time I saved you from on the part of the deans through big John. Yeah I'm right. Talk Someday for the sake of accuracy as is typical with some of these stories songs. especially from the sixties. There are our Two versions of one line has changed. the inscription on the Marble. Stand the original says at the bottom of this mind lies one. Hell the man big John Than that was too controversial The edited version which is more commonly heard says at the bottom at this mine lies one big big man? Big John Yeah. There is a line in the song. where he refers to the mine as a manmade. Hell yeah that that is not edited in either. But that's okay because it's it's that's the thing it's it's like you can say. This dog is bitch. became like that dog bit. Yeah you can't say that like you could say oh. We're in hell. We can't say it's a hell of a day in some versions of the song. Jimmy Dean says this mine is H. H. E. Double L.. How I wish we could end this or see them? Thank you recall in another version. This on this trip and said here lies when Kulwant. That was not played anywhere at the one that was written on the plane. You had a couple of bottles of the big John. Big John The dean another tiny Jack Daniels for big John Right and then in another example of how the song was the gift that kept on giving also in nineteen sixty two a year after the release of big bad John Jimmy Dean wrote a song called. PT One nine about John F. Kennedy so it's nineteen eighteen sixty two. He's still president at the time would remain president until I say you never stopped being president. He just wasn't correct right right right so he was president and alive and it was about like his heroism during World War. A two and at the end of the song when he's talking about like you know how cool John F. Kennedy was the chorus just comes in and says be John and everybody in the audience went in. Yeah I think he was like oh I remember that song long years later. It's just like Jimmy on Jimmy. You're better than that Jimmy. Dean was again again. Born in Nineteen Twenty eight. He was a singer singer. Yeah don't care go on television host actor and creator of the Jimmy Dean Sausage Guy Favor. TV show and also mix commercials Charles and he would he talk to you about his sausage. Try it it's good for your family. This is how I sing as well. I just talk sing. Think that he would like big. John Brought Jimmy Dean sausage into the mind for people to have an enjoy but he would have been nice semaines that he didn't call a big John Sausage big about and I was saying allies. Well it's up it. Just let it go the sixties you eat bacon with every meal substituted started for just one Okay don't substitute just add it. Don't you bacon wrapped sauce. I kind of an egg yolk widsom butter on it deep. Bryant Jimmy Dean says what are you Jimmy. Dean thinks of the Weird man as son character that now sells his sausages. It's not a song. Nellie Mae Agenda now wait a minute. Minor minor unnerved this Weirdo Dada esque commercials. Where guy son costume like yells? How's that family? Now I remember it's Hey you're not feeling well this morning. Did you have breakfast. Sure I just I had grapefruit and cereal no you should have fried meat up but radiate purse making. Microwaves on it. I'm ready to face the day. I just had twenty pounds on me if you can put it in the microwave so the outside is really hard and cross the insides it's frozen. That'd be good. If you put it on an English muffin so I get something that's really chewing. That'd be perfect so he had his own show. It was the Jimmy Dean show. I think it would have been cool. Call Jimmy Dean Sausage Fest. But now how long. He would have several country music guests. And it's sort of helped helped country music. I gain a little more national exposure and you also gave Jim Henson his first national television. Ralph Ralph started. Yeah Yeah Right Piano and him. Jimmy D would banter back and forth my favorite muppet really. That's Ralph is my favorite muffin. Nothing not that. He always says that we'd have an alcoholic to me. Yeah now why he was visited and he was also an actor one of his. I think more famous appearances was In the James Bond movie diamonds are forever and he had a along. Great career needed a lot of things including sausage and he died in two thousand ten. At the age of eighty-one his tombstone reads here lies. One Hell of a man and one last unbelievable from beyond the grave. I wonder when he was on that flight writing adding that song. He was just like if you give this song that I'm just going using over and over. No part of me thinks that if you if you put like something because I feel like there's other stories that have like tombstones in them and if you put a tombstone in your story guess what whatever. Whatever that tombstone says? That's going on your. That's the way they did and not the tubes on red. He's big fat jerk. Hillary likes. We didn't bother search for EXO. Excellent all right. We'll take a quick break when we come back going to finish the show as Patricia and this is the show. That's just going to keep on going forever with the lesson. We learn from this with less blurred.

"Well hello everybody. Welcome back to the story podcast. I'm Dan mcinerney on Michael Gazelle. I'm Rachel OAKES who walk through the world of storytelling. And this week. It's going to be big bad John by Jimmy Dean Sausage Teigen's you may know mcgrew sausage. But he was also one hellhole all of a singer so Michael goes the story of this story. Act Big bad. John is the story of a minor or a person person who worked in a mine. Fifteen right or a group of miners. Some of them probably miners underage. It was a different time. Yeah Big John was just known around the mine as being someone. You didn't really mess with. Because he was big and imposing. The song says he stood six foot six to forty five people were just afraid afraid of him and stories would circulate about him. No one really knew much about him. They said that he came from New Orleans. And that's where he got into a fight over Cajun Queen. He beat up somebody or killed somebody. We don't know but this is all speculation amongst the miners. And that's how young people the people who worked in the mine. I'm sorry this is that that's how he ended up wherever the takes place. They don't actually tell you then one day the mine collapses. The as minds often will shorter all the people working in the mining say minds collapsing water. We're going to do and they just assume that it's certain death but someone comes. Eskan Hood is a minor. Yes okay. Hey the only one in the story who has name. It's big bad. John he I guess holds up a like a piece of timber or something to to hold the opening to the mind. So he's like a real like eight type personality he's like I'm going to get everyone else's like what we're done for. Yeah he's a go getter. Yeah so he rescues everybody buddy in the mind gets out to safety clearly and then they're like let's go and John Down there holding the holding the mine open and and then all of a sudden they hear like often collapse. Yeah sounds like rocks and other things and An and John's down there John and they put a marble Stand out in front of the mind. Well they did they release a half http second trying to get. They didn't just they just want to get. They went to the marble store right now. They're already calling the doom store that Dukes don't place and they call it the tombstone. Get your soul stones. Cocoa Call Tombstone Circle what. It is like the minor minor minor minor debate that we had early. was a minor debate. True Okay and the The marble stand they put in front of the mine. Just says at the bottom of this mine lies a big big man. Big Joe big big man from more now. The dead man big dead John Every morning the mind you could see them arrival five. He stood six foot six. Wait to forty five kind of broad shoulder out that him and everybody knew you didn't give them a little too big jobs.

"Damn accoring. I'm Rachel OAKES. Michael Gazelle this one. Another of our Classic episodes this is this a good one. This John Classic Classic Classic I remember to about this one was that This is what our best opening lines but I forget who it was but some comedy gold every every one of them. Carl reiner would weep if the genius level level of comedy. That's coming out of us. I'm sure he does. He's he's a longtime listener. Oh yeah yeah on this all right. Somebody said it was like well. What about this and styling Has a hint of Michael on it. I'M NOT GONNA LIE TO YOU I. I don't know if it was me really well. Whatever I think for our fans it was a consensus most likely whether it's really early quaker etcetera longtime once we get the right one? It's always a good feeling so that was a good one and Yeah the other thing listening back today to it There's a part where I went off a little bit of a tangent About something and we were like we gotta shut that down fat. You're like okay. It was a fun little tangent but now back to what we're doing now that the show is about to be like ninety eight percent tangent. Very funny here are like Oh. I'm sorry I didn't mean to go off on a tangent like that anyway. Let's let's get back to the song we have to stay on the straight narrow. Yeah so Yeah so that was just funny. You just have to hear to hear back when the show was different than when we cared so now we care now we care more about the tencent Sosa. That was a good one We talk about it pretty extensively in the episode. But yes if this is the first time you're hearing it or you're a new listener yet. It's the sausage guy. Hi Jimmy Diana's the same. So very weird. He had a music career he was you know He. I mean he was very popular. But that's the thing he's he's the sausage guy but he like the sausage guy thing was as a result of his unbelievable popularity. Like wouldn't it be great if if this really popular singer actor variety show host had a line of sausage products. I mean. That's always the danger is that you never know what's going to be your legacies. Yeah you gotta be careful but yeah I was gonna say it's like Kenny. Rogers roasters but I I. I didn't listen to the entire episode but I'm like ninety eighty percent sure I made that same reference. Some things never change Dan. Classic Dan Classic exactly So speaking of classic this this is big bad john by Jimmy. Dean asked to take a listen. We'll be back at the end sausage fest with minors this week on the story song podcast. Yeah.
After exiting Beyond Meat, Tyson Foods will launch meatless products this summer
"Start with one of my favorite topics. And that is of course, food specifically Tyson Foods, which is the parent company of hell Shire farms Jimmy dean there in the meat business Tyson Foods making headlines because they announced this summer. They're going to roll out their own line of plant based meat substitutes. I did not realize Tyson Foods was an early investor in beyond meat. They were an early investor and beyond meat and eventually sold their stake. Because beyond meat said, they didn't want competitor invested in them. And it's really interesting that they chose to announce this development now right after we just seen the crazy week last week with beyond meets IPO. So I think at this point investing into meat alternatives, especially when your company like Tyson's is just smart. Business. I mean, we've talked before about like the marijuana industry. And how will yes, we expect that industry to grow? But we're not really sure what direction it's going in. Yes. There will be some winners the meat substitute industry seems almost like a no brainer. Like, it almost seems like he's like the marijuana industry. Well, no, no, no. I was going to say more so than the marijuana industry. I look at and we'll get to what happened with beyond meet in a second. But I look at this. And I just think I really don't see how this industry doesn't grow dramatically over the next twenty five to fifty years. Exactly. And when you look at actual meat, right? So Tyson's core business. Those products are really kind of a commodity, right? Because they they depend on supply. There's a lot of different variables that can disrupt that production. We're seeing a lot of that happening in China right now both with pork and chicken, and while that's a small part of Tyson's. Right. It's still notable. Because it's acknowledging the fact that if there's an better more sustainable cheaper way, we can give people protein we should be exploring those alternatives. So it's concerning to me not that ties is getting into it. But the fact that they were such an early investor and beyond meats and have just now decided start putting out their own products. It kind of begs the question of what were you doing for for the past three years, and it will be interesting to see on that point when they start to rule these out. What does that look like do they do it sort of quietly? Do they make a big show of it? And it may be at that time we start to get some more color from Tyson in terms of this is what we've been working, maybe not. So let's just recap the last seven or eight days for beyond meat last week. They set their price range for their IPO at nineteen to twenty one dollars a share on Thursday. It goes public at twenty five it pops one hundred sixty three percent on the opening day. And today it's at eighty now. Keeping in mind, everything I just said about how confident I am that this industry will grow doesn't. This seem a little insane. For beyond me. I mean, d you look at beyond meat at this price right now and think to yourself. Yeah. I would buy it at eighty or do you think wait a minute this? I'm going to wait for this to come down. The problem is that were anchoring to their initial IPO price. Right. And so there's an argument to be said that maybe if it stays up at this price. They just missed horribly miss price their IPO, right? They they didn't under- understand that market demand for their products. And right now, they're the only pure play non meat company on the market and part of me thinks well, this is increased so much. It's a bubble. I mean that's just waiting for pullback. It's a company with widening losses. Stiff competition not just from Tyson's, but from other competitors. So part of me thinks, but then I keep remembering, you know. I go out to eat. I see beyond meat everywhere. I see them in restaurants in growth. Shree stores, and I see people love their product and part of me thinks. Yeah, this is an evolving trend that's going to be here for the long term whether or not beyond meat ends up being the big player in that field, as you know to determine that I wouldn't buy at today's prices. But I don't think it's completely crazy later this week. Uber is going to go public. And I think most of us were surprised when they set their price range that it was lower than what we were expecting. I have to believe that what happened with lifts IPO impacted the price range for Uber by the same token impossible foods, which is a competitor of beyond meat. If they're not looking at going public, or if they weren't they certainly are now and a half to believe that what happened was beyond me type. Yo bodes good things
