"And welcome to shift. F wanda podcast. Best meaty race cars. That is a british minced oath. Which i had never heard of me which is a. It's a phrase that you can use to blaspheme without being explicit immense. Growth jimmy christmas. Oh that's good that's like soccer okay. But it is a midst of four. God blind me. Oh really i never knew. So thank you shift. I guess for giving me a reason to look up that etymology. I'm drew scanlon joining me. Danny dwyer how are you danny. Good sorry if you had any children watching listening to the first couple of seconds of this the irish guy standoff with curse word but i'm just so full of energy because what happens. Oh my goodness we're going to spend this whole pockets talking about one corner. Also joining us rob zapped me. How are you rob very excited to dig into this weekend yet. There is a lot to cover. Not only that incident danny referred to but we had our first to sprint sprint. What we call it yeah see. Here's the thing here's the thing is sprint's sprint qualifying. Sprints it's not spend rice. Apparently but like was that they were being needlessly arch out late this hard race to set the grad. Who cares do enough to. I got a picture. You're pretending like. I guess we can't call it a race unless the faa made some sort of absurd directive but like car-racing position. I don't know i wonder. I wonder if you call it a race. Does that like suddenly mess up contracts or something. you know what. I mean like louis albums that aside for twenty three races this year. And it's like all right. I guess they got another four billion dollars. I don't know who knows is probably pedantic reason that's a good point. One thing we kind of neglected to mention ahead of it is that because of the reshuffling of the weekend schedule. Their cars are really getting a third of the practice time that they normally get. Yeah well before this time so we had The very first session was free practice one and that's an hour and then qualifying after that. So usually you get three hours before qualifying before you have to lock your car in park permai which happens before qualifying. And that's a real. We don't really talk about very often but park firm as is if your car is in park firm it means you can't modify it so generally the car is going to park permit before qualifying in remain that way until the end of the grand prix. Which is it's done to force the teams to present a car that works in all sessions rather than say stripping it down for qualifying and then having a totally different car in the race so we had qualifying and then we had free practice. Two and if the car doesn't really come out of park firm for that so you can do like minor adjustments but really. It's more of like a test run for your race. Pace with heavy fuel is what it has kind of turned into so in all or in in you know for all intents and purposes free practice one is kind of it just wild and it's like now that we've seen. This is the problem with doing something like now that we've done this. It's like oh we only really need one practice session as everyone else is just a all. The teams are so good at setting up their cars. That like what do we really need. Free practice two and three or four. The yeah the kind of at least in the sort of we're in the final year of a specific era. So they're they're pretty good at dialing these cars and obviously that practices that often there will do race pace practice later in the weekends. Julie during a time of the day that is more akin to the race that type of thing so they have different sessions different things and also. The length of the track helps here like if you were the smaller circuits. They tend to have a bit more trouble. An all findings spots for practice but yeah it was cool to see them jump straight. Some of the drivers were like. Oh yeah i'm used to this. This is exactly. I used to a lot to. Let's go right. So just a recap quickly. We'll have qualifying to set the grid for the sprint. And the result of the sprint is how they'll start the race and also there are points some points for the sprint right. But for qualifying. Hamilton got not po position he got. It's interesting on youtube channel. It says you know they do like. Here's the pole lap of went fastest. Isn't qualifying this. One says. Watch lewis hamilton's p. one lap from qualifying anyway. He got fastest in qualifying and was absolutely blitzing. The final q. Three lap in the final sector overcooked. And does this sweet looking drift around a corner which left it open for overstepping but ultimately couldn't beat. Hamilton's i run and starts in second got botas leclair perez and fifth norris ricardo george russell in eighth second Also notice that he went counter-strategy. Everyone else and did a run in the middle of q. Three when nobody else was out he waited until everyone else was like on their cooldown lap and then drove out in basically like it was a very dramatic moment made for great. Tv moment because like he's driving out there basically so low while the crowd is cheering but both to get an accused three With with his run at the end of q. Two and his three run. He really didn't like he like williams. Put him in empty traffic and He basically only works out so that you can do to hot laps right. That's generally how it works out. He took the position of like. Just gonna go when no one else out. They're going to get one shot to do it. It seemed to work pretty well sometimes wondered why more people don't try given all the angst around like traffic placement And maybe it only makes sense if you're if you got like kind of an underperforming car overcoming car like the williams That's like super aero sensitive. But still i was like it seems the kind of interesting proof of concept for is for like just trying to avoid traffic as much as possible even if it means fewer shots. Y- does lock you into that. That one shot instead of two and maybe not in this track because as said like really didn't improve that much on a second run hamilton. Didn't at all. So maybe this is one of those tracks. That doesn't improve much throughout session. Because sometimes you get a drastic improvement from the track rubbers in from the first run to the second so yeah interesting be interesting to watch c. Keeps that up and other tracks be a he qualified eighth. Then we have signs and federal rounding out the top ten then alonzo ghastly okon g-o-v nutsy stroll in fifteenth sunanda reichen latifi schumacher mazandaran. And there we go into the sprint. Do we want to talk about what happened in the sprint. And then have our impressions of it. Yeah sure the first lap shirl take or yeah do you have notes for slap. Yeah i mean it starts off with stoppings you start. Carry this this idea of denver. Yeah that's true. Yeah we'll see about some of the ones in the rice..

He's like he's like I was back there and I chanted killed the entire game. Show me why don't mess with my father. That's why that man is crazy. Yeah, dude. Yeah. I yeah, my that's not my football story and suck. Never claimed that his my football story. Your dad's going to have that and God speed and that's the same thing built like that no more. No, this is built different. That's all that is. It's all that is that's old school hardcore. Seriously, dude guys crazy. So like so would it comes to like, yeah. I know. I don't I don't know why he didn't get the chance to play at next level or even higher cuz you know, it's it's wild but play the best XI play the best 11. That's it should be it's play the best 11:11 roll from there, you know, and in invest living can be you know, guys that don't have maximum talent but not are coachable. They know what to do. They direct their their precise. They make things happen, you know, cuz I can't imagine any full-back being the best athlete out there really odd, but hey, you do your job. You work hard. You're listening you coachable. Don't like you're you're one of my top guys. Yeah for sure. No doubt. Yeah. So definitely you mentioned obviously that you're that you're doing the dog. In part on the Youth Level, where does your football go as far as the professional level Army kid, then you kind of travel around if you ever get a loyalty. So the loyalty is the Vikings game, right? And and this is like this is we have to suck there's three. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Let's have a good one. See you guys later. Right? So now it's any consolation of being a Vikings fan does that we do proud ourselves. Now, we're at the point now where we're doing that kind of response to ourselves. Really? What are you doing? Why why do you like them so much I would so so, how'd East what are you guys fans of are we talking Giants? Fan Pittsburgh fans? Philly fans. What are we talking here? We're lions lions. Oh Jimmy Christmas. Well, never mind. Then. I feel like I'm just then I feel above you now. I'm back to being about. How about this? Come on now? Yeah before I was like, oh man, there's some history over there with those teams, like know the lines and others not we're good know our history our history on our history Barry Sanders. It's Barry Sanders dead. Make it make it art history is Billy is Billy Sims. Can't forget about the first. Yeah. Okay. We're at least hymns Barry Sanders Megatron. That's it and effort because you can't even you can't even finish a Mount Rushmore if you wanted to Matthew Stafford wouldn't be your fourth. I mean it was Saturday would be the Forum know that dude. There's there's so much better to Santa Claus. Don't discuss number nine. All right. I'm sorry a while for us to do a Mount Rushmore. We'd have to go pre Superbowl error for sure have to go all the way back to Doak Walker and The nineteen fifty-something episodes Championship. We won. Yeah. So yeah, we're we're yeah, we're in as long as Megatron and Barry Sanders are there. She probably can't go wrong after that. It took doesn't matter. He picked out of that. That's fair process, but it's still sad it really it really is but we got more wins this year than y'all do. Oh, yeah, we're garbage this year. We're hot garbage. We we need to blow it all up. It's all gotta go but I've been on the fire Mike Zimmer bandwagon for two years like we've been on the fire Mike Matt Patricia, you guys should have kept it all tired. You should have kept calling kept I said we could sneak. Yeah, I've been saying that Caldwell knew what he was doing called when nobody was Patricia. Patricia is in that job. Hey, if it keeps getting worse in New England and maybe we'll keep Quinn and have Quinn bring in hoodie because that person from New England, I'll take all the other ones. I'm not interested in but that one I'll take you wouldn't take the enemy right now from Kansas City cuz I don't like from New England home. I'm sorry. I was just speaking like head coach coach be if you look at the lines the Lions front office and roster. It's full of full form of New England people except for the one that counts the most. Yeah, you're right. I mean I don't understand to have we have we heard anything from Jamie Collins this year. No, but you don't even exist. Amendola call to pass did you guys I think the lines are better than New England right now at least. I would say that I would take I would take the lines right now. That's that's what I would think I would take the Lions simply because I think Stafford's better than Cam Newton in my opinion. I would think Stafford her. I don't know where you guys are dead. You are speaking pretty crazy thoughts about Stafford. Stanford's a baller. I just got to make sure I cook him on the show. I'd Stafford was a dude. What are you talking about? He's awesome. He's awesome student game when he took last week. What are you guys talking about? But we'll see but that but that was that was that was against virtually nobody. I mean, okay. Well, first of all that virtually nobody team beat my team case we need to contact number bad. They curb stuff my team. They walked into our house. They beat us up. Okay, that is true. Hey, we barely made. I know you took it out. It's like the last play to do it. Oh, here's a big shock. You guys don't like Stafford. I'm not that we don't like Stafford hater. I just feel like we could do better and we're not dead. Anywhere with him like yeah. Yeah, like we don't this point. We don't dislike Stafford. We we learned effort. We just know that he's not going to get us over the hump fair that we know and we know that wage for the lines if they would be the smart. They do traded him two or three seasons ago and gotten value for him cuz now he's Thirty-One thirty-two years old. He's coming off a major back surgery and he has no more trade value dead. Now two years ago. They should have sent them to Jacksonville in Jacksonville had an elite defense and need a quarterback to get into the Superbowl. Wow to trade him then while we could have gotten some pics for me to got some value for him. But now he's he's he doesn't know what's going to give a first no one. Can I give a fourth-rounder for Stafford right now? Yeah, I don't even think I don't even think through the lens of a lions fan. Like I can't even imagine what you guys have gone through your home. Look at your whole life. Like it's not like this lot like for us it's like, okay this year is just hard but we've had a couple of good years the last couple of years. Yeah. You guys haven't had any of that know we well what what time? Five years ago that we got screwed against Dallas. Yeah that one and the one against the Packers. Oh, yeah. I mean the Dallas game playoff game, but that would have got would get into the playoffs..

Slice, you want to, but it's still too sides. So I want to get another side which was mine. And I haven't talked I haven't said anything and over thirty years. So of course I went to a lot of bad times. But I start writing a book and I say, I might help somebody after Lou while I realise hip myself because I was getting real things that was inside of me that needs to come out, and it made me feel real good. And I know that when people read this book is gonna make them feel good to it's gonna make them think. I get tipped the scale little bit. Give us give us a appoint or to that a what some of the things that you wrote that helped you what, what, what did you need to put down on paper? I forgot how good a ballplayer was because I had up and down to injuries. And I really forgot how good I was and I was in. I was in Texas at the airport. This is two thousand twelve and I had been telling my wife about Nolan Ryan's known around was greatest competitor and wanted to tough his pitches. I've been faced in my life. And I said, you know, it was it was it was it was a different experience base in him. So we have to report in Austin in known Iran's airport, because I said, baby baby, they go, they're going on Iran. So I go to Nolan known around repercussions and he looked at me. Like you know who I was. So I got my wife did. I'm kinda embarrassed. You put Betty on them. Oh man. So we went to security, and he came up to me. You'll hit a home. Run off me, Mike. Thirty years ago. He said, I'm still mad about it. Oh my goodness. It's still remember thirty years ago. I said, Jimmy Christmas, I said, don't worry about Nolan said, oh, the first hit, I have you in two years. In another story. Herro bane, the great hero, Baynes, Baynes, Chicago, White Sox, or saw the man's got me to ballpoint one day throw the first pitch out. So I'm down the field talking to Chris Chambliss, who was the hitting coach de particular time. So Chris, and I was talking in Harold Baines came up to us. He's a hey, Chris, he hit a ball out of Comiskey in. Chris looked at me. And what is a he hit a ball out of Comiskey? That's when echo. Big ball, talk in the world. Oh my goodness. And I hit the ball, we have the story was I faced Tom Seaver, the first time I face Tom Seaver hit a double off the left, centerfield, wall, and basically, loaded..

Today folk, you're in for a treat, we're talking to Rupert Jones World Series champion center fielder. With the Kansas City Royals the Mariners the Yankees the Padres, the Detroit Tigers and wound up his career with the California Angels. It's great to have you on the show, my friend, we go back a long way together, if his we do feel so Rupe? What's taking up your time? These days you stepped away from the game in nineteen eighty eight. What do you do in these days? You remind me how old I am. Okay, I'll try I'll try not to go there too bad. Are you healthier you in good shape? I'm in pretty good shape outside. It looks good. You know, Roop, I remember when you came up when you came out and in, in canton into the game, people labeled you as a can't miss, you had all the tools of five tool athlete, and back in those days, that was a tremendous compliment, but it didn't take long route before injuries began to creep in what was your thought. When you first came up, what were your dreams what were your aspirant when you first said yes to that first contract with the royals. Well, I was I was always a pretty good athlete. Feel I play football baseball and basketball high school. And when it came down to draft time royals draft third round. And I thought that was my best opportunity to continue to move my life forward. So I signed mine lick amazing a minor league contract with them played three years in a mile. And then I went to the big leagues and played for Whitey. Jake mcken. No. That was sorry. That was like, why did hers up Whitey hers? Oh. And I got to watch the game. I got to learn the game. Or week as four starting to gain was concerned I faced goose Gossage. I start. No the game for another week a pinch hit and I made it came in the game late, but my third game I faced Dennis Eckersley, and then my fourth game which another week later, I, I, I face Burt bly Levin and at at about those four games. "Here on radio. But I was talking about how you know. No one ever no one ever wanted to ban of anything, and you had lawmakers that were in Washington DC that we're getting ready to use that issue to festoon a Christmas tree of gun control. It was like Christmas morning to them. They're getting ready to do all kinds of stuff. They were going to create that Bill that was going to be the tip of the spear, and they were going to add in all kinds of ammunition limits in criminalization of private transfers and all kinds of stuff. And they we're going to be a couple of probably going to do it who knew what is gonna who knows. What's going to happen? And so taking it and once you pass a law. Good luck trying to undo it. And so putting it in the regulatory around that was the best play. And that was really the only other player that could have been made. You gotta deal with the cards. You're dealt you know, and if people don't like the cards that they're dealt than by damn get out there and elect better people. So you don't have to do this. And you don't have to you don't have to do this kind of maneuvering. Jimmy christmas. So I get kind of I get I get a little sassy on that. So what what are the things we're gonna talk about here? Coming up is this banning of everything this'll be a fun conversation because I'm I'm a little little lit up about it this with all of the Moore, sure and this nonsense. Go ahead. How's the pill taste? Take take it. Take a full by there. I tried try to fill in. That part there. She goes back into it. She's going straight peel. It's so disgusting. She's basically peeling the orange with their teeth and eating it. You keep eating I'm gonna play ours. Ours. It's time for the good news. Last year. Jason was all excited to complete his second half marathon in Indianapolis. He shows up for the race race day gets going vid way through the race cardiac arrest goes down to paramedics and a woman that are running the race. Then they're all running race just start. Boop. Boop CPR revive him. He's made a full recovery. And this year he's going back, and he's going to run the mayor thought in the half marathon where the people that saved his life. This is to running heart attacks stories in the same day. So what does it tell you don't run? It's bad for you. Good for your heart. I believe the guy that invented the marathon died of a heart attack, the whole, wow, one is running. You know, I was with a friend. That's ironic, and this this friend watches the medical field because you know, the human body is really not supposed to live. That's thirty five. I left. Oh, wait, that's crazy. Because that's when everything comes to break down your body goes after thirty five that's when people get sick. So be injuries happen. They don't he'll take the original man wasn't supposed to live past thirty. But through science and education on nutrition, we've learned more and more and how to live to fifty sixty seventy eighty even more than that. So, but we had to running stories today in listen, God bless both. These people start stepped in the same both of them. Because Amy had a story lunchbox had a story. Good for you, guys. Put your lucky is that a cardiac nurse in two paramedics are running near him. And they save him. You know, some listeners literally are listening to us right now while they're running. And they just stopped. Right. Get on that bike, by the way. I still haven't been knowledge on my bike. I get on this by going online class, and they always they always shout out people like let's shout out to Jimmy Christmas the instructor on this peleton thing. And she's riding like lo let's shout out to Frank Wiltshire. And I'm like I've been killing myself to getting knowledge once they don't ever wants a good story. I liked that. He's going back. I wouldn't I'll be like, oh that's a sign about like he's going back. That's what it's all about. That's telling me, something good. That was telling me something. Good buddy, miss the Bobby. Transmitting across America. Right. But a half hour ago Amy loss a challenge she has to eat a whole orange with the peel, and I just hold her off the you can stop it finish it up after the show. There's no time limit on it. What is he's putting it on to buy your mouth. What did you say? I said there's no way I'm going to stop. Because if I stop I will not start eating this again. It's so gross. What's an orange tastes like with appeal? Yeah. Well, she's over there. She's she's charging man. She lost Amy voted for the whole orange too. By the way. I think because of a lack of education, these are real emails and tweets, I'm just going to do an Email here because this all of the emails that I got kind of said the same thing. Because people think I guess socialism sounds great. When you talk about it. So hey, Leeson this synthesis Email, this is pretty epic. And because she spells her name with two ease. "So fun. Right. Can we can we just like get in his car Joa? Jeff Jeff bridges. Can we do that? All man sounds so great. That sounds fun. Now that was the Golden Globes when is the Oscars nascar's is coming up when. February February so Ellen Degeneres. If you haven't watched any of the clip to the interview, you ought to she had on Kevin Hart. On her program for the full hour. And he had said I apologize for my insensitive words from my past etcetera etcetera. I don't think that you should be apologizing by the way for making jokes comedians should not apologize for for just having fun. I think there's a difference between being purposefully militias and a jerk like what's your face, Kathy? The chick who looks like Ronald McDonald sister Griffin Griffin. I don't know. Why just forgot her name? That was honest. I just read hair and Kathy. She's not she's not funny. So that's why she relies on shock to keep her name in the press because she's not funny and shock is. I mean animals can be shocking. My dog ate a piece of poop yesterday. I was genuinely shocked. Yeah. He did throw it up. Nearly two zero is disgusting. I couldn't get there. Fast enough. Long story short. I did not give him any by Cottle's. 'cause it was disgusting. And we hold him down a brush his teeth sobre, I know their dogs. But whatever. Moving on. So I think there's a difference between being completely hateful militias. And then like Jim Carrey also does and he you can make a joke. But then there's being militias for the sake of being militias, and and people like Kathy Griffin. And Jim Carey do that. Whereas you can like south park, although they're starting to get I feel like they're starting to become afraid of their own shadow. They would make fun of everybody didn't care atheist. Christian Mormon Catholic. Gay straight. Whatever you are you're fair game. And that's funny. Because it wasn't done maliciously. It was done where we're all going to joke about the stereotypes about each group. And it was funny. Dave chapelle. Does it? It's funny. Chris rock does it. It's funny. It's funny stuff because they're some of it. Some of the reasons why it's funny is because it's based in truth. And it's just one of the humor is a common can be a common language, and and and we've talked about for years since two thousand and eight been on air since two thousand and eight we've talked about how it is. Really that's the last refuge for free speech is comedy. And Kevin Hart. I mean, he's tweeting about stop. He's as being facetious. Be. It's Kevin Hart. He just is how he is people freaking out of her Louis C K progressives, apparently just discovered Louis C K. I never like Louis C K because I never liked his brand of comedy. I always felt that it was he was uncomfortable. He was he would sometimes I think he crossed the line of being comedic. And then having like a self like a confession session. That's what it seemed like, you know, anyway. And he's any Kevin Hart apologized enough, and he needs to stop saying that he's sorry. Jimmy christmas. So he was on Ellen which I this is the progressive left. They're gonna go after a gay woman for talking to a black, man. Okay. Are you? There you go progressives. You can have that. And Voltaire wrote this piece where an apology is not. I'm sorry. If I fended you or if I'm sorry. If my words don't hurt your feelings etcetera etcetera, and they try to compare it to what Samantha b said calling Trump effect less. You know, what that actually that was her calling someone a name that was not her making a joke. Who wrote a stupid article over at vulture? Oh, Maytag M E G H. Okay. She has no sense of humor. I think that people who have no sense of humor and are too much there too devoted to victim victim making in the victim status. You should not be allowed, right? Anything about comedy. Because clearly you have no sense of humor there. And the fact that she couldn't differentiate between calling someone to see you next Tuesday and making a joke about being gay the fact that you don't know the difference between that shows that you are ridiculously unqualified to write anything or to ever be taken seriously about comedy good. Let's be honest comedies been policing itself. For years the saying that comedy with an extra grind is not comedy has been saying for many many years. So stop acting like comedy is where all the heat comes from because it's not worth it. Yeah. When he's he actually he was a whole like he talked about he had a whole like a bunch of jokes about what happened. If one of his kids was gay or something like that. Because he was talking about his kid at a birthday party. And he was taking like how dads are really, you know, it's like a stereotype dad like it when they realized their kids can cut their sons can catch a football. Or when they think their sons, you know, not the Taiba to get that gets bullied. There's something that is uniquely resonant about that feeling with dad's and with parents, but particularly dads and there's nothing wrong with that. Stop trying to shame men for being men. Stop trying to shame people for having discussions about things that everybody thinks and everybody experiences and everyone sees in society with humor stop it. These people just don't want to have conversations about anything. And he I mean even talked about how he's tried to modify stuff when because people are getting more sensitive about it. This idea that. There. This isn't about redemption. None of this is about redemption. This is what I'm talking about. When when I say that we have a society that doesn't care about rehabilitation. These people aren't interested in the growth of other individuals. They're not interested in good faith conversations. They're not interested in the health or well-being of a society. All these people are interested in is coming off as being hardcore because they refused to give anyone grace. They're all they're interested. In is how tough it makes them look a optically in society for refusing to give anyone any leeway or refusing to give anyone any room for any kind of redemption to take place America used to be about the comeback story. And now we don't allow for that anymore. And I noticed that it's particularly particularly show on the side of progressives. And I hate it. When I see conservatives adopted I saw people do that with James Dunn who directed guardians of the galaxy. He said some pretty grotesque crap. But he also was being he's not a comedian. He's a director and a producer. And he was trying to be funny and was like, clearly I missed the Mark. And I didn't mean this. I think that people need to give other people grace and the benefit of the doubt. But that doesn't exist anymore because people have gotten to the point where they don't even want to debate the merits of the conversation. They just wanna ruin people with Gotcha moments because it's the stupidest least intellectual pathway to some sort of cultural dominance, and it's so sad to see people subscribe to this. And this is this whole Kevin Hart thing is just another example of it. This man did not this man was making jokes and he needs to people need to leave him alone. He's hysterical. He is one of the funniest comedians out there and people need to stop dragging him for it. Especially these completely humorous completely humorless. White trust fund social Justice warrior progressives. Who think that they are God's gift to black people and all minorities, you all need to shut the hell up and sit down because as a society, we are so tired of being. Lectured by U vanilla. Wafer humorless just I don't have any other invectives two years. I'm out all of them. And now, rob Schneider was defending Louis C K and Kevin Hart. He tweeted jokes are words, you blanking moron blanks. And then everyone all these social Justice warriors. And again, they're all white people. They're all white progressives. Have you noticed this? It's entirely white progressives that are going after Kevin Hart, and now rob Schneider. Do you want to have a question you won't ever? If you want to have a discussion about race. Let's have a discussion about race. Why it's predominantly white progressives that are going after Kevin Hart. What the hell? It's all these the I just got league. This is the Jenner. This is the everybody gets a trophy generation that thinks that all of their observations no matter how stupid a were concerns race or comedy are important enough to be heard and bus should be implemented. So now, they're going after a rob Schneider because rob Schneider was sticking up. Rob Schneider's, also hilarious. So he ended up deleting his tweets like all of them. And rob Schneider. He also went after Jimmy Fallon when remember with the whole thing with Norma, Donald and he normally Donald Jimmy Fallon cancelled his his appearance on his show because he didn't like a joke that Norma Donal had made or something to that effect. And it was so stupid and ridiculous while now, they're everybody's he was defending Kevin Hart. And everyone's now going after rob Schneider. Just stop. They're ruining comedy now. These people are just utterly joyless. And they're they're they're not overly sensitive because they actually care about the issue. They're talking about their they get off on being speech. Police. I don't know how to put it. I'm just I'm so tired of it never been to Nita the rage mob ever ever ever ever never been to Nita the rage mob. These people. They don't care about redemption. They don't actually care about the health of discourse. And they really don't care about the issue. They claim to care about so much because if they did they would be working towards amicable resolutions, and they don't their goal is to destroy people. And destroying Kevin Hart talked about that they went after his businesses. They went after his kids. They was all about completely ruining his life. Over comedy. Everybody should be concerned about this. Symptom of fascism. We're more in store on this ninety s bumper music Monday every month every Monday now, that's one of the things we're doing a twenty nineteen where easing you back into the week or some awesome nineties tuna JR. I'm going to go down that with you as well as some other things that you should perhaps watch out for as well. In the meantime, as we get moving on speaking of guns, Keltec, does some awesome stuff. I love me from Caltech. I just taking it to the range in and shooting at it's incredibly fun. They know copy stuff they invent new things because they want to improve performance number one over ordinary stuff that we've been shooting for years, but also they want to be incredibly innovative like for instance, they make a number of their things truly Medac stress. The the cash g the tactical shock online all of this day. They wanna make it actually Embiid extras for righties and lefties, they keep the bullet ejection the casing objection out of your line of sight. So you don't have hot brass wine at you. And they just their stuff looks cool. And the way it functions is awesome. They also look safety isn't innovation as well. For instance, the Ardy be which is the bullpen. Right. They I mean, this thing is is so incredibly cool the seventeen they also made the already be asked for Esra survival. They also again have the BBC for California. And that changes some of the cosmetic stuff that makes it acceptable for California's completely.

"Are we're alive. We can we can make a difference. Gosh that sounds so fun. Right. Can we can we just like get in his car show? A Jeff Jeff bridges. Can we do that? Man. Sounds so great that sounds fun. Now that was the golden gloves. When is the Oscars? Nascar's is coming up when. February February so Ellen Degeneres. If you haven't watched any of the clips of the interview, you ought to she had on Kevin Hart. On her program for the full hour. And he had said, I apologize for mind. Sensitive words for my past etcetera etcetera. I don't think that you should be apologizing by the way for making jokes comedians should not apologize for for just having fun. I think there's a difference between being purposefully militias and a jerk like what's your face, Kathy? The chick who looks like Ronald McDonald sister Griffin Griffin. I don't know. Why just forgot her name was honest. I just read Herron, Kathy. She's not she's not funny. So that's where she relies on shock to keep her name in the press because she's not funny and shock is. I mean animals can be shocking. My dog ate a piece of poop yesterday. I was genuinely shocked. Yeah. He did throw it up in the two zero is disgusting. I couldn't get there. Fast enough. Long story short. I did not give him any by Cottle's because it was disgusting and we had to like hold him down and brush his teeth. So I know their dogs, but whatever. Moving on. So I think there's a difference between being completely hateful and militias. And then like Jim Carrey also does and he you can make a joke. But then there's being malicious for the sake of being militias and and people like Kathy Griffin. What some of the reasons why it's funny is because it's based in truth. And it's just one of the humor is a common can be a common language and. We've talked about for years since two thousand and eight been on here since two thousand and eight we've talked about how it is. Really? That's the last refuge for free speech is comedy and Kevin Hart. I mean, he's tweeting about stop. He's as being facetious. It's Kevin Hart. He just this. How he is. "I heard some talk as I was roughing up the debacle. That was this event that shale was pining for a fight with Chuck you that's accurate by you guys that was very accurate by you. If you would have said that on Friday after that fight, I will tell you a no uncertain terms. I am not looking for a fight with Chuck. I would not accept a fight with Chuck included. If that were offered to me, I. Would not accept that fight. So of any of you are thinking, oh, we'll chills looking ahead here. Yeah. Sure. Sure would love to whipped both of those guys on Friday after I saw what I saw. We're good you. Then look at the conclusion of the fight, which is only the disaster. That is Tito Ortiz and he tries so hard in some poor Tedo. I mean there are times for Tito is trying to be a nice guy. It just doesn't exist. He just can't do it. He just got an inability. He is a narcissist to the highest of levels, and he's a terrible communicator to the highest level. So when you combine those two you really have a thing a magic. Okay. This is great. I off Tito's doing his post fight speech at he's thanking everyone in the world. Right. He he does not know at this point part of his narcissist complied with these just generally not very intelligent. He does not know. Nobody's watching. He thinks he is performing this in a million plus households Kay. He does not stand by any level of metrics that the people that are there live were given. Tickets and nobody bought this show. So he's cutting this interview, this this this heroic moment this winter's moment interview. I mean Jimmy Christmas. It took him five minutes. And he wasn't in there in a fight. It took him four minutes before he realized I'm not fighting anybody. There's nobody in here. There's just a guy over here. I just need to go touch him one time. And and we can all go home and it still took him over four minutes to touch him. But he's he doesn't have the self awareness to do this. And it's so genuine, which is what makes his interview. So wonderful just as wonderful disaster to watch. So he's doing his interview. And he just wants Chuck to know he just wants Chuck to know, this is the best t- where teas that the world has seen in twenty one years. Now, there was a part of Tito within that message. That was trying to say, hey, Chuck, don't be hard on yourself. This isn't a rebuke on you. This is a narrative that I am that good. He meant it to be nice as hard as arrogant is that sound that was actually. What has message was? But what he affectively did with how communicating that. Well, was he also went ahead and covered the two losses that he had to Chuck. He went ahead and kind of tried to wipe away those losses without accepting any responsibility to the fact that he took on a guy who barely got a license and hadn't done it in eight years and back to that eight year date was forced out of the sport. He didn't take any kind of consideration into that. So then they go to interview Chuck who not for not really is a very nice guy..

"Remember writing that theme with with Jimmy Christmas tree, put Adam Sandler into days Showtime. Yeah, wave of Dicky. Was the dog did it? The big catchphrase people went crazy. Live audiences. Don barris warmed them up. The old woman was my grandmother. The twins, I think were Katie. I think it was Jimmy daughter Katie at the time just done. They was spoken in unison that stuff. What was cut on tape like tape lights, gather together, any cut tape? Oh, yeah. The only the only piece of advice I never will. Jimmy would say there's more than this, but the only early on the only piece of advice I wholesale rejected from Jimmy is he would splice the tape, the had like a Luma ashtray with slats on it and take the razor, and he put the thing on his hip and and you know, they. And he just said, if you could learn to edit this tape this way, it would be big and you would be much more poor, be hard. Like let me tell you about the holocaust. The comedians went right to the guys had it should get films. That's right. So it's got to put that propaganda real together. I'm your man. So he gave me that speech. He gave me speeches like, I remember like they open for there's an opening for van driver. All the van drivers don't be the van driver because then you'll be the van driver you need. But he gave me the editing speech. And I was like. I don't know how much longer nose vicious are going to. Nineteen ninety. Edit tape, ninety four like how much longer people are going to be doing this with a razor blade. We're into the nineties and. I think I'll just be extra funny and take my chances on not knowing how to add it and. Workout here we are. We have put that on the list. Now we gotta find ones with Stuart and whatever. I think what we would do is if Adam Sandler Johnston, anyone who made the mistake of coming into Kevin bean, we would pull them aside and go record this and just hand them that, but the predominant discredit. Great, right. That's pretty good for doing it with a razor blade and tape and back then and a catchy theme song. Harry. I bet. Cleo bandleader Cleo Jimmy would get him in so he'd go, all right. Let's Jimmy. I would write the lyrics right the song. It doesn't sound like him singing though. No doesn't clear to sing vocals thought I heard Jimmy's void Jimmy's in there for sure. And Jimmy would sink some stuff. And then other stuff just go Cleo, you know, some guys like your your musician guy need, bring those guys in and we'd like, but we but the reason Jimmy successful, he would do that shit at six in the evening. And he was there four AM like that in he didn't charge for it. I mean, he just get the band together and do that. And that's why when everyone's all how much what's going on Stewart for free then eventually you get paid too much. Right? Castrol edge. Yeah. Got got a challenge here. Castro challenge brought to you by Castrol edge formulated with fluid titanium. Technology reduces friction maximizes engine performs three times times, stronger. Viscosity breakdown leading full..

I jumped over, didn't worry about ourselves missing, you know, CPR all that good stuff and actually said Sally in the story that as of right now, the kid is still intensive care. "You could click the start button on if you're watching the video. This is a really great info. Graphic animated info than your times did my favorite factoid from all of that is that apple is now worth more than in the entire United States media industry all the TV all the radio, throw in Disney, Comcast, throw them all in. They don't add up to one trillion dollars. Does it mean anything at all that anybody, which just a number four commas. Who started with Ed bought. Oh, god. That's why I started with you. It. You know market capitalisation is such a a distortion of of everything these days the, there's a handful of big companies that have basically having money funneled into them in ways that remind me very much of nineteen ninety nine two thousand eight. You think it's mobile time. Well, who knows? You know if I, if I knew that I mean I'd be I'd be a billionaire, but it short. It reminds me of that time and and we already saw a little inkling of what can happen when things turn on a company with what happened to Facebook, just go losing one hundred twenty billion dollars of their market cap in in one day. I don't think apple is in any danger of having that happened to them because they have. Muslims question. Does is apple being worth a trillion and have these big bump in its stock price that important to apple compared to Facebook losing one hundred twenty billion dollars in its market cap is it does market cap have it doesn't mean the company's got more money. It means there's more outs you know value in the shares. That's all right. Yeah, this is value. I don't think it's a look at it more as like monopoly money. It doesn't really mean anything until you don't have any. I guess, though, for morale purposes, it matters your employees who probably have stock options are paying attention to this unfortunately. So. When it comes to tech and the stock market, it's such a scam because they don't evaluate technology the way they do other markets. It's not like oil and gas and things like that is just on how they feel when they wanna make free money, you know, Facebook does what it's supposed to do, and then they tank Facebook and thanks to Jimmy Christmas that losing fifteen billion dollars doesn't make executive jump out of a window. Just shows you how much real money he actually has that he could pay whatever, but he's doing the right thing. And the market doesn't reflect that because they want you to keep being corrupt and making free money on top of money on top of money. And so I was saying, hey, that's a just and pivot and keep growing and have trust in our company and our brand, the stock market is such a scam. It's ridiculous, and then being worthy trillion dollars. Whoop de doo, they're, they're selling every time. I look at one of the markets in the global scale of things they're losing share. There's two other phones, other devices and other things they personally can't get their own media content, correct. Their music streaming is down. So again, all the things I look at it in general like sure, keep fluffing up that number and giving somebody money until you rebel everybody off. So bubbler bust or whatever it is then making the trillion dollars cook. It's them shame on me for not put my hundred dollars in back in nineteen, Ninety-six. All right, let's play a game. You've probably already know the answer to this all you because you cover this. But number one phone manufacturer, this quarter who sold the most phones. This quarter was at apple, SAM's mile away. Samsung wow way. Number two. Barrett is number two number to apple number three. So you could talk about apple stock price which easily beat Samsung's market value and and while ways market value. But if what you're talking about is how many phones. You sold unit pricing? Yeah, that's true. Apples phones cost a little more. Don't they not much more than the Samsung probably a lot more to Samsun. Yeah. And again, Apple's apple does everything and everything, and apple matters on how you feel. They make you feel like you have a gold laptop in your lap. You've noticed a piece of crap out of touch screen or as dicara reader, and they tell you. Rant about how can it be the. It always any apple..
