"Like zero when you don't have the ball in your hands, which which can hurt spacing for others, and that matters a lot and it's important that it changes for him. He does need to at least be average. At least. Be You know. Look when I say when I say he's attended all those other things. He's like zero when it comes to shooting outside of six feet. Yes. You know what I mean. You just need to be a threat to fifteen. Mean I mean three three would be nice I don't care about I. Look I don't want been same shooting low-efficient low efficiency, mid-range jumpers I want him shooting. Average. Efficiency Corner three pointers. That's all I want. That's all I'm asking for. And with the idea of shooting hands I do think that could potentially be part of the equation in the future if it doesn't work with his left hand regardless. I do think coming from me. Come on the due to says that I do think all of those other qualities have gone overlooked and underrated because with Ben Simmons this season according to be ball index tracking Neda he defended more all NBA players players who have been named to an all NBA team than anybody else. He was one of the most versatile players in the league in terms of. Defending pigs or guards or wings, all different players and different shapes and sizes. We talk all the time about defensive versatility Ben Simmons can do that for you. If if Daryl Morey wants to build a team without Joel embiid and with Ben Simmons as like a four or five next to shooting center who who's not a post up player like embiid, it can work. But the number one thing is is when you have a guy like Ben Simmons with his shortcomings, that's why you do need to have one of those ball handling types. You've gotTa have a crystal or a Kyle lowry or Jimmy. Butler who they already had before an almost by the way almost beat the raptors. That's right. They almost want it. If. Anything no matter what they do with that roster. You know this Daryl has proven over the years he has a level of trust your. He's kind of guy that if he moved off one of those two, if they just decided they needed he will get a huge star. If there's anything he's been proven to do it is at, he can get you huge stars in the NBA and you'll always have to in by the way you know when it comes to that he's GonNa try to make this work with the both our shocked everybody I've talked to would be shocked if he traded one of them before or during this coming season but in the future, if it does come down to embiid or, Simmons it'll be. Really really interesting to see what happens at that point and and for Daryl you know he's at a situation here where they have a lot of good to work with, and there's some challenging pieces to work where they don't really have a young player with a lot of value. You probably don't WanNa Trade Matisse Stibal, you get those two tough contracts with Harris in Horford lack of cap flexibility for very agency, and it's a week free agent class anyway. So there's some challenges, but a lot of teams would change would change positions with sixers with the stars of I have but for Morey. The this is like a choose your own venture for him. If you're choosing a team, an NBA two K. to play franchise mode the sixers. Team of choose Oh. You can go any different way with these young guys and with this organization and I'm excited to see what moves they make to build around those two 'cause I it can work it can work. It's just about finding those right pieces and and I'm not I'm not sure what's out there right now we don't know we don't know if a kind of Larry could be available now that's our away. You're not. You're not that far away they had it. They had it. We if they ran it back with Jimmy Butler JJ rettig, they'd at a lot better chances past year it. All Man. He will have them as a consistent real legitimate title contender. I believe that wholeheartedly and I do think that that Philadelphia job is a great job to take over right now it's GonNa take some work but not A. Not a ridiculous amount. 'cause they're not. They're not far from getting it right? They just screwed it up last off season. It's just you gotta do some correcting their. The job he left just hired a new coach and that is Stephen. Silas got the job he was with the Dallas Mavericks alongside, Rick Carlisle, a lot of carlisle assistance in the past I mean, look you go back to that that that title team that they had You know I I, believe at that time the all they offense of a defensive coordinators as it were. One of them was doing Casey. The other one is Terry Stotts. These guys obviously did tremendous in their jobs and so Rick Carlisle assistance have gone on to have great success And Steve Silas Very Highly thought of within NBA circles. He's he's his father was a long-term NBA coach and he himself has paved his own way that being said I? Think that is a tough ass job to take over I really do not only with the personalities. It's just I. Think it's hard to take over for a guy where the style was so distinct and you built a roster based upon a style that was so distinct. They're going to have to switch that around. There's going to be how they're going to play now under Stephen Silas..

"There's pressure on dock here. Well, first of all, I don't disagree with you that this pressure on Doc, but I'm glad you had the decency to remind our audience. The only reason I didn't bring him up because that's not the question that was asked you actually changed them question okay. Thanks very much for doing that and your points about Doc rivers or ballot I'm not disagreeing with although I will tell you that I think we've seen the best of Toronto I think Boston shown us that they need to tweak things here or there a little bit. That doc rivers credibly knowledgeable about any age therefore, he won't be as easily hoodwinked, Bryan Colangelo. Was You don't you don't need to expect that in the near future so we've got to pay attention to that. We've got to pay attention to that Milwaukee might not be what we expect them to be because they've had their chances that hasn't materialized in anything, and now you got the Greek freak looking to potentially get on up Outta there, and of course, there's Miami. So we we we get where you're coming from in terms of stiff competition but I still don't think it's to western conference and as it pertains to doc rivers and in would embiid. And Simmons here's what I tell you number one. You've got to be better than Brett Brown. I don't think that's going to be that hard with all due respect because Brett Brown didn't to a conference fine. It's got to game seven of a semi finals didn't get to a conference finals even though that's not going to be easy I. Think it's achievable it Ben Simmons and Joel embiid come to play and do what they gotta do. So dot has that pressure on them but I, think Joel Embiid has been Simmons. Their honeymoon is over they now have to validate all the claim that they have received on a continuous basis we're going to have. To because they were going to act like Ben Simmons wasn't hurt for these playoffs. They Bevin nearly advanced to the conference finals last year and I. Would have gone to the final would have won the finals last year Simmons got hurt this year. You got this year I was talking about lashing right I'm saying, but he just got hurt. So it's not like Brett. Brown couldn't get done with he didn't have Ben Simmons who was the defensive player of the years far as. Joel embiid with Jimmy Butler. Jj. rettig the year before when they lost the game seven. By one of the greatest clutch shots that bounced three times before. Then, they came back this season and they were like twelve and twenty six on a road. Okay but then Ben Simmons. Got Hurt. You can't win away from the Wells Fargo Center philly that's the big. We've had this conversation before debate before we'll have it again I'm sure all doc rivers and seventy sixers they have their work cut out for them. We know that it's going to be some stiff competition in the East Mu- very much a collaborative effort if you will. That's a big buzzword right now, we'll get to that in just a bit but we do look doc rivers track record he has A. Good one he has led his teams to winning records in the past thirteen seasons. That's more than double almost triple the next longest active streak and could be a big reason why Joel embiid was one of the first person to tweet out congratulating doc rivers after he got the job saying welcome to the city of brotherly. And just like that look joining us our good friend Tim Tebow who I must say is looking fresh in the white. How are you? I'm doing fantastic our y'all doing he's. Not. Going on my friend was. Off. All. Right. Tim We'll. The dream here in Florida, where the sun's out seventy, five, yellow freezing your flopping at to tantalize. Colorado. Tibo I'm I'm I'm in La is kinda warmer here bro. I'm in New York and it's. Terrible here. Max and I got the short end of the stick on this. Friday. But Tim every week you're here with us on Friday. To wake up at about five to start your show though so there's a downside to. I feel you on that but guess what e- crunch berries that early. So it helps me get rid of that stuff. So you saying you'll be done. Are Tim we have some big games to look forward to this weekend. Some big SEC ups number two, Alabama taken on number thirteen. Texas am. So talk to me what types of problems could the aggies present Obama this weekend Well they do create any problems it's gotta come from their quarterback Kellen Mon. Mon has been pretty good for four years, but pretty good doesn't be Bam Kellen Mont.. Spectacular and he also needs help his number one receiver off it out guess what that doesn't help you look at all of the teams that have upset Bama over the last decade they have done it with excellent quarterback play. They have done it with great skill players. They have done it with scramblers that have been able to buy time with their lakes Kellen Mon have that ability, but he has to go from pretty good to really good and he's got to do it soon. Tim Tebow I I look I need to stay with Texas because I I like Jimbo Fisher I really do but He's been there. This is third season. It was like nine and force for shaves eight, five lash. It will help Kevin Sutherland was doing in five seasons. When he got let go you saw seventy, five, million dollars I mean, could you talk to me about Texas in the program and how we should be feeling about Jimbo? Fisher end the program and light effect that they clearly not seen in the same light as Ala Bama or even Lsu but they're in the same there in the same conference I mean can you talk to me about that for sick? Well. I. Think that depends on what Lynn's what glasses you're looking through what Lens do you see them through because if you're looking at the future looks pretty bright, they're in the top view and recruiting every year they're recruiting some big time quarterback some big time skills. But when you talk about talent that doesn't mean that they haven't done it yet. So they have a lot of talent that they've got to turn into really good players and so that's really the next step for. Is they've been killing in recruiting got some big time players and they're trying to build a culture and I still think Jimbo Fisher is one of the best coaches in the country I. Think you've gotTa give them a little time and he's gotta get his players in there is that GonNa start when he gets his quarterback or or his skill players I'm not sure but they've got a lot of talent and they gotta take that next step. All Right Tim the big. One. Tomorrow night seven, thirty PM right here on ESPN number seven Auburn. Seventy four number four Georgia. Tell me about it. Well listen the biggest question mark in this game is a quarterback position for Georgia who's going to play and how they're gonNA play Stetson came in last week and I love his story. He's an underrated kid that that played pretty well but also jt Daniels got cleared this week. The transfer from USC highly touted played really well at USC. If they really talented thrower has a shot to be an NFL quarterback or are they going to play both of these guys? Are they gonNA give jt the opportunity to step in and having? Never played Georgia bulldogs start in this game that's a big question mark, but don't underestimate Bo Knicks and Seth Williams that connection for Auburn I think it'll be one of the best connections in the SEC Seth Williams, you're going to be seeing him in the NFL. Soon, he is a freak he has Odell Beckham type range when he goes up and catches the football, this kid is unique. You're going to be talking about him for a long time to come how big of a threat is Georgia.

"Your won't we're going to update the polls here in a second lebatardshow, Instagram and Twitter. But you want to nail the dismount here with very strong opinion of some sort that is your unique insight into all things. NBA is there anything here that you want to eliminate for us as you leave us here for the basketball? Yes, I don't really have anything anything great for you. I just think it's going to be very interesting. July coming up again, I think what happened at the end of the playoffs here really changed the landscape for next year. And I think it's a wide open. Season next year for a run to the championship. And right now. It's even hard to determine who's gonna be in the mix too to contend. I think we know LA's going to be pretty good. I think it's pretty obvious that. Milwaukee will be pretty good. And other than that, I don't think we have any idea who's going to be real good. Philadelphia. Yeah. Well, why we have no idea what's going to happen with Philadelphia with Tobias Harris? And in Jimmy Butler JJ Rettig. I mean if they're just been Simmons and Joel Embiid. They're not contenders. What are you going to happen with Jimmy buckets? I don't have any idea. I know or I don't know my feeling Jimmy Butler is I mean you look what happened in Minnesota. It came down to he wanted to get paid. He's going where whoever can give him the most money. In Philly, wants seem they're probably going to have to give him a MAC. So I don't know if they will do that for both he and Tobias Harris. So I think that will be down. At least one of those guys next year, and that makes it a lot more difficult for them. Especially with Jo Ellen beads injury status, you know, you never know how he's going to be in the fact that been Simmons can't shoot the ball at. I'm not sure that, you know, they're going to be really good next year. Ordina Caesar's, the Lakers right now are the favourite twin next year shaking, plus three hundred the bucks, plus six hundred the clippers nice little.

Nice little flyer there plus seven hundred you're betting man. And you're not clearly this is entertainment purposes, even though he gave you Toronto one possession game and gave it around on money line for the theory, even though all those things not a gambling man wasn't team that I should be keeping an eye on for next year. When the title to get a few extra entertainment purposes. You know, I wish I could help you don't know I would say, that's how you when the end. Well, wait a minute. I would say it would be, you know, clippers you don't know who's going to be on their roster. But, you know, you have a lot of money. They have a lot of money. So that's a that's a sleeper pick. And you could get a bounce back from Boston. And then Philly could, you know, if they're willing to spend the money they could bring back a real good team has it'd be my three clippers Boston Philly, maybe the nets Mike fire on the nets. I am completely nor the advice of the gaming with your. All right. So stand because sands advice was I don't know. "Here's Avon Shandor. The news is red Brown is coming back. Anybody up in the air about that? We get definitive word from the Philadelphia. Seventy Sixers Brett Brown mouth himself. Now. As far as players are concerned that still up in the air as the Sixers still dealing with a bitter disappointing end of the season Bryce, Harper's off to the worst start of his we don't know what the hell's going on in Philadelphia. So we bring in rich Hoffman. He covers the Sixers eagles all things sports for the athletic, Philadelphia. You can follow rich on Twitter at rich underscore Hoffman. We even have a little draft lottery to show the Knicks how it's done rich eight shedder expedition radio let's start there before we get into Brett Brown and Jimmy Butler. JJ Rettig Tobias Harris and all of the question marks with the Sixers moving forward did anybody up in the Knicks front office bother to call. The Sixers and ask how to tank do it correctly. Because whatever they were doing for clearly didn't work. Yeah. I mean, the six billet they kind of the Sixers thanks to that too. Because of the the lottery reform kind of the big spread out with the Sixers view at twenty five percent chance pick and Mallat order, and yeah, they as as the security that you know, you could you could Pank all you want. But it probably picks multiple years to get the number one pick to ensure that it's almost like the opposite of if the warriors lose right everybody outside of Golden State in Oakland's probably rooting for the warriors that dynasty to end more. So than not, and it's the opposite end of the spectrum. You've got the Knicks trying to win the lottery and everybody's rooting against New York. And I will. It's fun to say that the lotteries rig that I know a lot of people say that with our teams, I'm pretty sure it's dependent of proof that it's not rigged that New Orleans. I don't I don't think that's what Adam silver would have gone up. So I'll curious at what point in the season. Or maybe it was the postseason. Did you come to to realize -ation that Brett Brown is going to return as the head coach of the Philadelphia seventy Sixers and to be fair it might have come Tuesday afternoon or Tuesday morning the day in which everybody's talking about what Brett Brown said? And the exit interviews. Yeah. It did. It did not come during the season came when when word came down on on Monday night. The I think the singlet was frustrating about this from the Sixers ownership standpoint, you you had Josh Harris saying, I think it was back in March that it would be really disappointing. If they didn't make pass the second round, they they kind of laid out the expectation Tino Brad before the playoffs started saying we wanna make it further than we did last year. Even though I mean, if he did it seed wise, they weren't you know, they were supposed to lose the second round. So, you know, in reports to come out of the weekend saying that he's coaching job from the New York Times, I believe and that that proved to be incorrect, but I will say they said the whole time that Brett new during the Toronto series that his job was safe. You could've fooled me players. Amir Johnson said yesterday, we don't know who's coach. The team next year. Joel Embiid offers kind of an impassioned defense of Brown. It really didn't feel like they they seem to be backing Brent for most of the time. It was I think it was the right move overall. But it didn't seem like it came that quick. Well, how about what Brett said? Which is you know, he doesn't speak about it. And I'm paraphrasing, of course, in the exit interview and the press conference rich about how he didn't reference or speak about their conversations or his job security because he already knew where he was with the front office yet the front office really did nothing. It's teamed like did very little to downplay once again, another report to be fair that came outside of Philadelphia and Mark Stein. The latest just about Brett's job security meeting. It didn't feel like there was ever this stamp of approval that was coming down from ownership in response to these articles Stein. Sheridan and others that were basically questioning his future. Look, I get it. You don't want to react to every single report that it out there because hey, there's a lot of content allow people are kind of making up stories that aren't as credible as the New York Times and Mark Stein. But yeah, you're it does seem like it would be too. I don't know leak word somebody that. Hey, he's he's okay. And maybe, hey, maybe that was the case the whole time that that they knew he was gonna come back and they were happy with the job. He has done. But yeah, it just seems like they could have handled it a little bit better. But I guess now that doesn't matter Brown. He is he's back. And you know, it's not the first time that the Sixers have their media strategy is not always been pumping. I've agreed with. Well. I'm sure that's an entire show. Like, I would need you for thirty minutes at least to go through the last four or five years of their media strategy. So let me ask you this. Then instead it was chatting with rich Hoffman at rich underscore Hoffman. The writer for the Philadelphia covering Sixers eagles content as well. The dot com slash Philly. We look at Brett Brown you say he's back is he truly back or two maybe a month and a half into the season. If this team is five hundred are they're going to be questions like legit questions again about all, right? Brown's gonna be gone after this year if they can't fill in the blank. Oh, I think so. Yeah. I mean, it's a high pressure job. I guess we do at the C who specifically returns. But assuming that they do bring back Jimmy Butler or Tobias Harris problem, maybe both, and they especially if they bring back yet everybody, including JJ ready to there's going to be a lot of pressure on them this year because I do think he had a decent excuse in that those guys only ten games together during the regular season. And they did a decent job scaling in the postseason, but everybody who saw out there. Joel Embiid was not healthy. You know, he was either dealing with knee tendinitis or throwing up or some other sickness. I think he did have a legitimate excuse Benecke to nice job considering just the lack of time that they had to build any chemistry. But if they come back next year, and they're struggling I would be. I would be very surprised if there isn't a lot of annoys. I mean, I think part of that is just the seventy Sixers head coach like until there's always noise about coach. But I do think like if he has a full year and the chance to coach these guys that they're going to have to perform better than they did this you do you feel like people outside of Philadelphia are focused, and you mentioned it's a high very high volatile situation. Highly volatile part of me rich situation whenever you coach anything outside a Jay, right? Coaching team here in Philadelphia. It's crazy every day. But do you feel like more attention is paid outside of the city to Brett Brown specifically his job his status because of the the hangover effect of the process and attack job that the team did? At and I think that's another reason why the he falls. Under such a microscope is that. The Sixers typically the process Sixers are just a team that has been scrutinized and polarizing for such a long time. And you know, of course, you can point to his record. I think there's like a stat where he needs to win fifty games for six or seven more years just to get back to five hundred which you know, you hold against because obviously coaching a bunch of journeymen and the team that was supposed to lose for a while. But yeah, I think, you know, just because of the players coaches, Ben Simmons who everybody has an opinion on about his junk shot he coaches Dylan who is trolling people left and right. And that you know, he was sick. And and all these things so yeah, I don't know if the combination of local market and just what a what kind of sports down. But this is also very high profile. The big question I listened to Jimmy Butler over and over again locally on on the show that I'm doing in Philly in south jersey. And to me it did not sound convincing at all that Jimmy Butler is going to be back. Now that might not just be or part of me might just be him trying to get that fifth year or something more from the Sixers seems tough cat to read from the outside. You're there every day. What is your opinion and read on Jimmy Butler and his future with the Sixers? Tuck gutter from the inside too. Yeah. Those kind of yesterday he wasn't really tipping his hand. Now, I think to be fair to him. It's a really weird situation has. Leonard. Unbelievable shot and the Sixers, you know, it takes four ounces ago in before that the Sixers overtime away for making Eastern Conference finals. And then ten hours later we're talking to you guys about free agency. And you know, what they're going to do. So so maybe, you know, have enough time to process kind of you know, where he's going. But yeah, I mean, it sounds like, you know, it was asked the question about money, basically like, well, I would hope my play has earned the max contract where I go. You know, it's not like these guys the only one who are who are going to be bidding for me. And I also think you know, for a guy who is like his sit on this team was was kind of feed and always know the defense was ratchet up during the regular season here. An excellent teams most interesting planter, he was very good. And I think the other thing too is good. The other question about say Dan with his teammates, specifically young guys. He really seemed to grow with with them and kind of grow together with him. So I think that is a positive sign. But you know, I it's it's not only the Sixers decision t he wants to go somewhere else in the, you know, maybe, you know, I know these these big markets like LA and New York have cash it'll be able to make that move. So it's it's it's going to be interesting. I think from the system point though, you really have to push back. Yeah. What would be the argument against bringing? I guess we can throw Tobias Harrison here too, right? You've changed the roster three times over since day one of the regular season to where we are right now rich what's the argument against not bringing back. I would say both at this point Jimmy Butler in Tobias Harris, if you're willing to build with the unit that you traded for. In the current. You know, the next couple years, there's no argument against it. I think for Butler, the the worry if you give him the five year hundred eighty hundred ninety million that age thirty four thirty three and thirty four season Maccabi pretty rough those time typical miles on them. And he just seems like a guy who might not age. Well, but currently obviously a very good player. And I guess the argument against Paris a lot of money to pay to fourth option. He's really good, obviously. If he I guess there were some times where he was a little bit disappointing in the series against against Toronto a little bit. You know, it just couldn't make spot upshot some of the physicality that the tile and other players. He didn't always match it. But I guess that some of the arguments, but to me, I think the better argument is to try. These guys back you will tax because if you look around the landscape of the league with Kevin Durant. Those to the maybe the the bucks win the series Leonard goes west like if you have all those guys together for a full season. It feels like they would have a pretty good chance to compete. I agree. Rich often at rich underscore Hoffman on Twitter. Sixers eagles content for the Atlantic. Philadelphia. It final question thirty seconds..

"Suggesting last week. Maybe it isn't a perfect fit together. Those two long-term DJ. What do you think he's going to have to get better? And he's going to have to develop a mid range jump shot, and he's going to have to be comfortable at shooting it because like I said Joel Embiid is your focus if you would have got the ball inside the Joel Embiid coach the last two or three minutes of that game seven then you could play off him if they double team, then you've got guys on the perimeter like Jimmy Butler JJ Rettig who can knock down shots Tobias Harris. And that would have been great offense down the stretch, in my opinion. Obviously, it was a difficult loss for Joel Embiid and the Sixers and you saw him emotional after the game emotional after Kawai Leonard's game winner. And you know who else saw. Joel Embiid shed to your this is my favorite thing by far that I saw on social media. I thought this morning I was coming into work. This is a letter that was written by a young Saint Olivia. She wrote dear Jo L. You're my favorite basketball player. I'm sorry. That you lost. Saw you crying on TV. It's okay. To lose some times. I lost basketball games to you got so far. And I'm proud of you in the seventy Sixers your fan, a Livia, and I will just say this not only should Livia be sitting courtside at Joel embiid's next game. Joel Embiid should be sitting courtside at a Libya's next game. The next time she plays her fourth grade, girls, basketball, whatever whatever level of basketball does she's playing I think Embiid should be there to watch those kinds of things as a lifelong sports fan. And as a dad myself boy that if that doesn't I can't imagine what it'd be like to get a letter like that. It's awesome from a fan perspective as a player, you know, somebody's taking. Knowledge of what you doing out there on the basketball court and enjoying what you do. It's always special. Yeah..

"While the season is over for the seventy Sixers after they lose game seven of their Eastern Conference semi-final playoff series with the raptors absolutely heartbreaking fashion yesterday in Toronto. They lose ninety two to ninety Hawaii. Leonard led the raptors with forty one points, including the game winning bucket was a jumper which bounced off the rim. Four times before falling with no time left in the series. It was indeed dramatic but Sixers head coach Brett Brown. Wasn't that surprise? I really felt when it hit the rim that it was going to end up going in. It didn't surprise me that it went in. So now, the focus turns to the off season for the Sixers. Rumors swirling about bread. Browns job security Sixers with free agency decisions to make players like Jimmy Butler, JJ Rettig. Hey, whatever John Johnson. We'll be over in Camden today at Sixers headquarters as the team cleans out. "Sports fan. Joe I got a question for you. Yes, sir. Happened to catch Nick nurse and his interview before game four and see his hat. No. Was it bad? It's a violation. You're going to be outraged. Yeah. Double N on his hat w branding the name. Oh boy. Yeah. It's pretty pretty weak. No, he's not ashamed of it. He's out there promoting it. So anyway, I wanted to bring that to your by the way, we're going to see that knucklehead that dork Drake again who didn't bother to show his face in Philly. Now, it's going to be dancing all around the front row up there. Again, gotta deal with that again tonight. Well, look if the Sixers come out the way, they should we shouldn't have to worry about Drake. He'll just be sitting there texting whoever you texting or whatever he's doing. But here's here's my Sixers take I think Brett Brown needs to demand that Joe Jo- established himself in the post on your percent grinded out. Right. And then also Ben because Ben got this baby hook shot going and look if he never gets a jump shot in his wife, so be it have he's got the wrong Lakers. Don't work with magic work with Corinne get that skyhook going because if you can't shoot a jump shot if he could get a little baby skyhook going in the paint. Yeah. Four twenty points a game easy. Yeah. Listen, it's something that's been brought up a million times. And I don't disagree, Charlie. And in whether cream teaches year just have someone that teaches you. I mean, I know he's the all time or I I just don't get the the hook shot disappearing for thirty years. I find it bizarre. That bigger point is. I mean, the bigger point though, isn't like Embiid having a develop a hook shot, which I would love to have it. She's got to get his ass into the post. All right. You can't make twenty three feet. You got to want to get down there. You gotta be conditioned to get down. There. The coaches got a demand you get down there. I mean, it is just it is just asinine. In with all the shoes with Jimmy Butler, JJ Rettig and Tobias Harris on the outside. If you work the ball in. I it makes them more open because everybody collapses on defense to make sure and b doesn't get any bucks. Right. I mean, this is the rocket science worse. Charlie. I I agree with you. Real quick mainland. Shark can live between three hundred and five hundred years. Wow. They tell. Sixteen and it was three hundred ninety two years old, which means it was born in sixteen twenty four that well and believable before Columbus right after Columbus. Yeah. That is ninety two Columbus sailed the ocean. Blue fourteen nine to fourteen ninety. There you go. You know that came after BC. He's not going to let this. Charlie. Man, you've contribute to show us. One last thing there. I think there's pliers real quick. I think it's going to be a great coach. Well, I hope so man, they got some obviously, you know, seasoned coaches now coaching along with him. And we'll see what that does. Of course, you know, you guys know my theory and flyers players they need players, and he plays theory. I don't know how much more clear I can be about that. And I hope that happens. That's Dennis amount. Laurel yo Dennis. Oh, Danis has disappeared. Dennis is at this appointment. All right. Let's talk to that sought to Kevin what's going on. Jeff. Kevin you're on man. Hey, they. Yeah. I just wanted to talk some Phillies unpopular take I think reform skins is actually better than Bryce Harper. Really is right now. Yeah. "Histories is injuries. But it's getting late very early. How coming back com back is pretty much Sanchez who just went wanted the L about Hicks. And probably, you know, twenty feet. It's my dog could do. I mean, I'm I'm worried I'm very worried because you'd be seeking games up. Debbie's going away. Nobody Joe that's the key of what they need to avoid over the next month. I agree with you. It doesn't look like anybody's walking through that door. But even with the roster. You have the guys that are here need to be better. And it starts with j happen. James Paxton, and maybe it's not fair to say it starts with them. But they're a part of it. Those guys need to be better. The first basement Luke void and Greg bird need to be better. The bullpen the guys who were there's that Britain needs to be better. Tommy Keighley's got to look like the guy from 2017 not the guy from two thousand eighteen and what you need to do. Right now is not even think about the Tampa Bay rays or eleven and three what you've got to think about is getting the five hundred they've lost four in a row, they're five and eight so they're not, you know, thirteen and twenty two and they've got a survive the next month until they're healthy. They don't have to catch Tampa Bay. They just have to play decent baseball. And they still have enough talent to do so Eric's on Long Island. Hey, Eric, good morning. How are you? Good morning. What's up? Let's have if there were you were less. My first question is how do you have the energy or the vocal gorse even do a show? I have no idea. I envy you. I. Well, listen as good as bars. Allen billion those guys are how about through two games. How about the job that what about Martin does? He gets it against the Crosby light never seen them. Get punched in the face like that. I mean, just physically beaten up into a pulp and have nothing to show for. I mean just walking off almost on crutches at the other game. And that's what they need to do in Matt Morton's been great. He's had a bunch of scoring opportunity so far in this series. But we know why Matt mourns out there. He's physical. He's tough. And they've done a great job of making. Sidney Crosby not the star that he is. Now is that gonna continue in Pittsburgh, probably not? But for the two games on Long Island. They were able to do exactly what they needed to do against those elite players, Alex and Kwok what's up, Alex. Good. I'm a Nick fan upset about that. But I the nets but the nets have done this year. And I've enjoyed watching them the times that I've been I've seen them. I think of one point about them. I'm sure you can can help me with. Up. And when they've had problems, it's because and admittedly they've said, you know, they're not the most physical team. So when they've gone up against some of the better teams who happen to be physical. It's been a problem with them. Now. I noticed they had the manual earlier this year, Kenneth Burri. Yes. In twenty four games with Houston. Yes. I'm sorry in Houston play twenty five minutes a game. He averaged thirteen points and eight rebounds. Was there a problem with the I know they have a David kind of the same player? But what was the problem because I don't call the Ness Fano there. Here's what we know Alex. And that's a great point. Because you brought up one of the few negatives that you could attach to Kenny Atkinson, and Sean marks they bring in Kenneth Farid, and he barely played Kennett Farid would average when he played because most nights, he get DMP's, ninth, ten minutes and the games. He played would be blowouts. He'd get into a blowout late in the game. So the reason he wasn't playing start with something. From practice. And maybe he just didn't believe he was buying in. Maybe they needed him to be a stretch for which he wasn't though he has played more of like one maybe more of a stretch five in Houston, especially when the center was out. It just didn't work here for whatever reason Clint Capella, by the way, slipped my mind for a second. So I just said the center. It didn't work and for two reasons it's a mistake, and it stinks that it didn't work number one. They could use them. They could use that physicality. They could've used a stretch for if he could have at least become that we've seen Kenny do such a great job of getting the most out of players in developing players. But the other reason why it hurt him. They didn't make a trade at the trade deadline only trade they made is they basically bought a future second round pick. And for read could have been valuable chip to us. Now, I understand we had Sean marks on earlier this week and showing marks basically said Aidid say this quote, but this is a power phrase. We're not winning an NBA title. So we're not going to give up valuable assets to chase. What I understand that? But clearly the nets had a big hole at the four. That's where the whole is. Now, I think it's gotten better because they've played Rhody there. They play tomorrow Rhody row. Donates hoots just in case people are like who the hell is Roti. I want to bring everybody in. So you get enjoy the perk. Lynn, nets basketball and no referring to. But having read develop would have been great, but tutti use them as a chip to potentially get back miratec or a guy like that. Or maybe even making a deal for Frank Kaminsky was never dealt would have been a big help. But you're right. That is one of the failures of the marks Atkinson year, and there have been very few considering what they've accomplished and that was not getting anything at Kenneth Farid. But it was nothing on the court because he barely played. So obviously, it was something that Kennedy and like from practice. Let's go to Mike in Bloomfield. Hey, might take my call before I get to my MBA point just a pickup on the nets did get a first round pick from Denver in that. So to say the complete failure. I'm glad you mentioned that you're right. That is the deal. They made to initially get Kenna freight your hundred percent, right. They got Denver's attach pick. I just mean getting anything out of him. And that was the failure. But you're right over all the deal was great because that's how they got Denver's first round pick. That's fair. I should bring that up. And I appreciate you bringing that tension to that. And then getting into my MBA point. I'm just trying to think back to it a playoff where there's so many teams that you could realistically see lose in the first Brown. And then also make the finals. I mean sick there's probably winning the theory. But you could make the case they could lose anger the finals same with the Celtics then out west with Houston. They can be in the final Denver Tuesday predicted to lose in the first round just while the team that could go to the finals, and it can also lose in the first round to different than in years past. I it feels a little bit different. I think on the west side. It's not that different. You've got a lot of good teams. But you've got the big animal at the top. If you will the big superstar team at the top in Golden State, the east feels a little bit more wide. Open even though in my opinion. The Milwaukee Bucks are the best team in this conference. And I think they are going to go to the NBA finals. But LeBron being here does change things. I look at the first run in the east. And honestly, I'd be very surprised if the chalk doesn't win. I'd be obviously stunned if Milwaukee got the first round I'd be very very surprised if Toronto to get out of the first round, even though it's a four five I'd be very surprised despite the Celtics issues despite the smart injury. I do not expect boy on bogdonovich and fatty is young and Myles Turner to leave the pages past the Celtics if they did knick fans at celebrate. Because I would think Kyrie's con. At that point. And I want to be optimistic. But it's tough right now. With the nets against Philadelphia. I'm skeptical about the Embiid stuff. I know he's listed as doubtful. And even without Joel Embiid. This is still an incredibly talented team with postseason experience. Not just from the guys that were there last year, but obviously Jimmy Butler JJ Rettig. And I think they're a better team even without Embiid. It's certainly closes the gap a little bit. But there's still a better team. Joe Staten Island. Joe what's up, buddy? What's up Evan? First of all galore nets. I think they can I have confidence they could be Philadelphia. I really think they can do to help. So from your lips is Joe Evan as far as with the Mets situation. Vagas let's say he has a another bad. Adding do you see them maybe say put Lugo gazelle into the rotation? I leaned towards no, I I know. And look Lugo was good yesterday. I know it was a four run game. But still I think it was valuable for him to at least come in. And after he gave up that little blue pit to a kunia retire everybody. Save the rest of the bullpen and just for his own confidence. It was nice that he pitch. Well, Gilman's been shaky but for now at least cause things to change I lean towards the bullpen lugos value to this team is figuring things out of this bullpen. I think right now if something happened to any of the starters, you're looking at Corey Oswal to get that first opportunity. It's not great. But I think that's what you're looking at. They don't have a lot of starting pitching depth. I mean, that's why they almost need a cubs twenty sixteen year kind of year. Because if you remember the cubs that you're basically every star made their starts, and that doesn't happen that often in major league baseball. But I think the Mets certainly need that because they don't have a lot of pitching depth. But if they did face a lot of injuries if numerous guys in the rotation went down, I think it'd be something they'd consider, but it would be tough to stretch those guys out now like if they said, Robert we're gonna make you starter probably have to send them down for a couple of weeks to stretch that arm out Levin. Forty two we'll come back with more your calls, and we'll give you the New York Yankee lineup, which obviously, you know, without knowing it doesn't feel like a an imposing lineup with all the injuries, they're dealing with. So we'll give you the key white sock lineup as we are about less than an hour away. From the Yankee pregame show you'll hear right here on the fan and more your phone. Calls on all the craziness on this incredible sports Saturday. And now a page from the diary of Flo. Dear diary, I got the brush off again. I don't get it. "You just heard he did in Portland on a dunk but the preseason game. Michael key you care about preseason games. No. But I wanted to hear you in that moment, though. Yeah. I mean, Chris could probably find it or Araj could find it the very first LeBron basket is a Laker the one that counted I'm I'm kind of I'm like I was in Boston. But the very first preseason game. You know, we're we warm up just like the players do we I didn't serious. And I don't think you did either. When you played you just wanted to go out get get a sweat and get out of the game course out healthy. What happened last night man defense it guys their defense is broken. And and Luke tucked about it after the game that they don't seem to have a passion for defending right now in part of its Lonzo. Because lonzo's a good defensive guard when Lonzo was playing when he got hurt and sprained his ankle. The Lakers were ranked seventh in defense in the NBA since he's been out there rink twenty-seventh. And I don't think one guy makes that much difference. But it hasn't helped and they're giving up thirty five points a quarter over there last. Twelve if you give up thirty five points a quarter, you're not gonna win very much. Does it seem like though, and I'm not going to jump all over Luke because coming off this loss, obviously. And then beating Boston was a high in this, obviously is a low until you know, obviously, they play Atlanta. But it seems like we repeat this a lot about the defence the defence. The defence we tried to address it obviously getting Tyson Chandler. But we're right back to it again where we're having the same conversations we we score, but we can't play defense. And key the point. You just made has basically been the reason the Lakers fired three different coaches. It's the reason Mike brand got fired. It's the reason Mike dantonio got fired. It's the reason. Byron Scott got fired is offensively the Lakers. There's a pattern there. There's they're actually really good on offense. So you go back to your point if they played a modicum of defense, they could give up one hundred and fifteen points a game guys and win. They can't give up one hundred and forty like they did yesterday and part of that. And and I l z I don't know if you saw them, but these Sixers look like, it's only two games. But these Sixers look like they could run the table in the east. I know Toronto's really good. I know Milwaukee's really good. But after two games watching Tobias Harris Jimmy Butler, JJ Rettig, Ben Simmons in especially Joel Embiid if that team can defend it can get through Toronto in Milwaukee actually think they can give the warriors series. They're really good with. The addition Tobias Harris, we had Stanford Gundy in studio couple of months ago and Roz guy bad me because one of the questions I asked was you try to raise the bias hairs who's a budding all star to try and save your job with Blake Griffin. And on it. Do you regret that he kinda sized at the question because I saw two by coming to buy as you could you could see a guy ascending. And now he's what they franchise where he doesn't have. Be the one or the two which means he gets to thrive for championship team at the three. You're absolutely correct. They have the length they have to one combination that you definitely need to beat the warriors. Which is an inside guy who doesn't hurt you on the offensive side of the ball. Usually what happens is that. When you have to play defense against the warriors and your big man's out. There kind of footing around trying to chase around three point shooters. He gets laws and you get killed joylin bead when he when he gets down and pulls up his shorts and tries to play defense out there. He can lock up out there too. So they have the one factor in my opinion that really would give them problems. And you're absolutely correct about that. But back to the Lakers in terms of their wolf for defense. How much of it has to do with the lack of vocal leadership on the defensive side of the ball..

It was a healthy dose of peanut butter and jelly Butler and Embiid so Jimmy Butler, the beneficiary of a bunch of those assists. He had fifteen points and bead thirty seven and fourteen rebounds. And this was a route early on mcginnis mentions that the Lakers had a one point lead because of Kyle Kuzma and his thirty nine points is hot shooting. But after that there was no answer for Embiid. And how about Tobias Harris in the starting lineup. Twenty two points in twenty nine minutes to go along with six assists as six rebounds. And he is. Is thrilled to be in Philadelphia. You know, you're expecting to impose your will. And that's a good feeling. In my career. I've never been a part of that. And to be a part of the now. I love it. The Lakers defense was putrid. So Tobias Harris to L Embiid Jimmy Butler, JJ Rettig and Ben Simmons now Simmons shot poorly on Sunday. So he was only three of thirteen from the field and had eight points, but seven assists to go along with three rebounds. "Basket opportunity here. It'd be with it five to shoot. Well, drives looney. He takes the hit and scores the bowl twenty two points for the Sixers, Joel. This is after hours with Amy Lawrence while here's what we know. The Sixers just gained another all star caliber player. He's not an all-star though. There was a push for Tobias Harris to be an all star. We know he's having a career year. And it only twenty six years old. Maybe this is an opportunity for the Sixers to sign him long-term. But therein lies the maybe. And the major risk think about what the Sixers are giving up for a guy who is potentially going to walk at the end of the season. Now, if they make him a do you make of it max deal out of a lot depends on how this goes the rest of the way. But he's a free agent at the end of this year, and they just gave up a few players nothing. Huge. That's going to shift the balance of power for the clippers or for the Sixers, but they also gave up two first round draft picks. So they bring into by his Harris who could walk at the end of the year, which would be a major disaster. But if he stays and they've got a plan in place, the Sixers deal for Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons. We'll see what happens with Jimmy Butler JJ Rettig, and now Tobias Harris that's one heck of a lineup if.

"Show for the Philadelphia seventy Sixers as well as for their fans consider this potential starting lineup. If the Tobias Harris trae does go through the breaking news in the last forty five minutes, the clippers have agreed to trade Tobias Harris with a couple of other players to the Sixers in return for some role players and two first round draft picks one in twenty twenty and the other in twenty twenty one. Walser's so consider this potential starting lineup in Philadelphia. Ben simmons. Embiid Jimmy, Butler, JJ Rettig and Tobias Harris. Okay. Now, sometimes it takes a few weeks. Maybe a couple of months to get the chemistry, right? Especially when you have a personality like Jimmy Butler. And we know that hasn't been completely smooth. But the idea. Is that the Sixers are paving the way here to keep at least four of these guys to be able to have them as the foundation moving forward and try to win a championship with them. Obviously. So Tobias Harris having a career year in terms of scoring nearly twenty one points per game. And did you know he also had the game winner for the clippers on Tuesday night? Did we track it down we need to hear it? We need to hear Tobias Harris. So as I mentioned, he's averaging nearly twenty one points per game. He was way above his average in propelling the clippers to victory in Charlotte. Tobias up top seven to shoot he goes to the foul circle. The foul hitter in the end. Yes, sir. One seventeen fifteen Tobias Harris with thirty four timeout, Charlotte. Four seconds to play Tobias Harris with what turns out to be the game winner all the road in Charlotte and the clippers who are five games above five hundred get a thirty four point performance from Tobias Harris to go along with seven rebounds, five assists. Now, we did have six turnovers as well. But the jumper happens just hours, maybe not even hours because we just found out in the last forty five minutes, but this was obviously in the works even as they were playing, but he finds out pretty quickly after the game that he's been traded cross country. What an adrenaline rush the clippers rally from twenty points down to beat the Hornets. And then he probably doesn't even go back to Los Angeles to someone else. Get to clean out his locker and ship him all stuff probably because he's in Charlotte. So detour from Charlotte to Philly or wherever the seventy Sixers happened to be it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. So that's the big news coming from the clippers and from the NBA not the news, maybe that you were expecting about Anthony Davis. I am still. Stunned just considering the idea that pelicans might bench Davis if they don't trade him. He just got cleared to resume practice in his questionable for Wednesday's game. But if they don't trade him. They might sit in for the rest of the season. According to our Pella gins insider, Andrew Lopez who joined us just last hour. So I'd like shocked I love to hear from you. Yeah. Andrew wasn't you shocked? That's just my reaction to it. If you're the pelicans and you hold onto Davis passed the deadline. Do you let him play the rest of the year? That's my question. I just tweeted this as well. And if you're worried about him getting hurt in a game. Then shouldn't you keep him from practising as well? Every time I say this Dave nods his head on the other side of the double paned glass. Is New Orleans really going to bench their best player the final twenty eight games of the season. And who the hell would buy tickets to go watch them play. Then. Yikes. So check it out on Twitter Ayla radio. Some of you already responding also on our Facebook page after hours with Amy Lawrence. So a few of you responding, and I'll share these tweets Craig says the Lakers are crazy to give up half the team for a d. Yeah, I think the pelicans have made the asking price so high that even though the Lakers say they're waiting for a counter offer. They're going to be wait, no really long time. I don't think a counter offer is coming. The idea is that the pelicans don't actually want to trade Davis to the Lakers, and as you can imagine. Vevey alike. Trading him to Los Angeles is giving him what he wants for quitting on the team. It's one way to put it for deciding he wants out with a year and a half left on his contract. I essentially harpooning anyplace plays. They might have by making his demands public and even issuing a list of the four teams where he liked to play. Not boston. Oh my gosh. It's such a different age when it comes to the athletes. Now, do I believe that Anthony Davis should be able to go wherever he wants and play the rest of his career. Sure when he's not under contract. If the delegates aren't cutting him, and he'd get paid anyway because contracts are guaranteed if the Bella gates cutting him. Then he should honor his deal. And I understand I guess why New Orleans doesn't have the qualms if they choose to sit in the rest of the way. Well, he's the one that wants out we can't trade in injured commodity. So if you want what you want which is to get out of New Orleans, then we're going to have to make sure you stay. Completely healthy as much as you possibly can. I just got this tweet from New Hampshire, boom. He says, I don't think it's crazy. The guy wants to leave and create all the turmoil in the locker room than yeah. He can definitely set especially having to jump five teams just to be in the playoffs for New Orleans. But Allen says that's crazy. If New Orleans sits Anthony Davis. I can't see the NBA letting that happen if they don't trade him this evening. He's healthy. They have to play him. That's an interesting question key in the NBA players association jump in here. There's there's no rule that says you can't ask for a trade though. Of course. You'd better be careful how you ask for because you could get fined heavily. But if he's healthy and wants to play. Candy NBA step in. Now. What Andrew Lopez told us is that Davis probably doesn't wanna play. He would prefer not to which I also think it's nuts doesn't anybody wanna play. I'll play. There are guys out there that would die to have a starting spot the NBA. But sometimes you don't know what you got till it's gone. So of Davis doesn't wanna play like Hawaii. Leonard didn't wanna play last year. I'm telling you the similarities between these two situations. They blow me away. So cool. I didn't wanna play but he was coming off an injury. Obviously Davis has already been cleared to play also similar. I. So if he doesn't wanna play then maybe the the two parties are in agreement. But if he does you would think the union would step in right? Isn't that what the unions for? Oh, what a tangled web. We weave. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence here on CBS sports radio nother tweet a law radio. He will be benched. This is common sense. He quit on the team and became an asset. The risk of injury. Trump's is desire to play. He should be sent home and paid until a decision is made by the pelicans on his immediate future. I mean, all we got from Alvin gentry is that he's been cleared to practice. At least we know that he's been cleared to practice. So what do you think if you're the pelicans? What do you do? Now. I agree with you that it's a tall. Order to see the pelicans leapfrogging five teams to get to the playoffs. However, there's a long way to go. We haven't even hit the all-star break it. I don't know if the pelicans can make a run, but here's what I know for sure without Davis. They've got no shot. So if you're the pelicans is this your equivalent of tanking or do you excuse it by saying, well, he wanted out, and we can't trade a damaged commodity. We will be able to get seventeen draft picks and four players in return. This is fascinating to me because it's not just about the trade deadline. This could have ripple effects for the NBA for the rest of the season. This is madness. Thank you, see three PO, by the way. Did you see the headlines maybe not if you're not a Star Wars nerd like me, but the headlines about how C three PO may have leaked the title of Star Wars nine don't ask me how a droid can leak at title, but it was out there on the internet. And here's the problem because I love Star Wars. And because I Google things about Star Wars and read about Star Wars Google's constantly sending me all this crap about Star Wars. I don't think most of it's even true. And that leads me to the conspiracy theory that I have. I need your help on this. Maybe I'm just being way way over the top and melodramatic,.

"Shell for the Philadelphia. Seventy Sixers as well as for their fans consider this potential starting lineup. If the Tobias Harris trae does go through, and that's the breaking news in the last forty five minutes, the clippers have agreed to trade Tobias Harris with a couple of other players to the Sixers in return for some role players and two first round draft picks one in twenty twenty and the other in twenty twenty one. Walser's so consider this potential starting lineup Philadelphia. Ben simmons. Joel Embiid Jimmy Butler, JJ Rettig and Tobias Harris. Okay. Now, sometimes it takes a few weeks. Maybe a couple of months to get the chemistry, right? Especially when you have a personality like Jimmy Butler. And we know that hasn't been completely smooth. But the idea. Is that the Sixers are paving the way here to keep at least four of these guys to be able to have them as the foundation moving forward and try to win and championship with them. Obviously. So Tobias Harris having a career year in terms of scoring nearly twenty one points per game. And did you know he also had the game winner for the clippers on Tuesday night? Did we track down we need to hear it? We need to hear Tobias Harris. So as I mentioned, he's averaging nearly twenty one points per game. He was way above average in propelling the clippers to a victory in Charlotte. Tobias up.
