"So we did they ll the videos out yet a hope maybe by the end of the week I've been. Kind of lazy this last week. there's other things going on but. We did the prototype chair. And I was in a hot debate with myself on whether or not to add the embellishments to that chair or leave it as it is because it's I thought it looked kind of cool as it is, but I also wanted to do these other things to it. And I made the decision to leave it as is. So that video is complete, just got to shoot the ending in. Put that out and then I had started but not gotten very far on version number two I have this beautiful walnut slab and I'm not really in slab furniture. So I'm going to cut it up into pieces and I can resell it, and I can get the the legs in the seat out of it and I kind of home the design a little bit more so it doesn't look so. it looks cool but there's a there's a computer Drawing element to it that kind of boats may so I? I just kinda redrew it just a little bit. To get rid of it, give it some more I guess Pachuco feel to it and then. For the owls if you I mean nobody's seen this. So but the most of it is made up of of dowels and on the second one I use PVC pipe, it is such a cheap option and I was. For a little bit, Kinda wanted to do a stainless steel and get too expensive and maybe it's too cold and the alternative to that was conduit electrical conduit, which is also super cheap. You get like a ten foot thing for four bucks or whatever. and then settled for the PVC. 'cause it's going to have like a brilliant white up against this walnut Look good. So starting with that, and the problem with this one is a totally fail because the slab have has we're grain in it. and. Then you know whenever you cut into that, it could just twist and bandon turned into a single chip. So hopefully, it doesn't. So That's Canada now and Yeah I'm happy. I'm happy with the design I. I. I e fumbled a little bit or a Kinda. Where your bottom sits on there, I fix curbed a little bit and then the back is I move the curve down just a little bit just to make it a little bit more comfortable. It's still I don't think it's going to be a chair that you wanNA, sit in for hours. Because there's no cushion. It's just kind of forms to your body. But as a dining chair, I think it will work just fine. It's like a starbucks chapter like the starbucks chairs look really comfortable in about three or four minutes in you're like. They, do that on purpose so you don't stay in there. was going to say about furniture is one of the designed chairs I know my own personal experiences you never know if you've made the right decision that insecurity will sit with you forever might mice stools with you Built it will haunt you forever because every time I sit in my stool I made four of those those made full more for customers. I was very anxious to send out hoping that they would be happy with the result, but that's the way I am with anything that I ever make for customer I'm always anxious fulfilled their expectations. But by stools, I've made three of them made for them. Three of them are here at my house. One of them's entails design studio and I was sitting in last night and the whole time I'm sitting in my mind is just an autopilot maybe the foot rungs to love maybe the former inkster high, maybe the the the the but is too low maybe the butts to hide maybe why I grabbed on my fingers, it could have been thin. I can't stop it. So it's the same thing like when you're sitting in your run chair show you having very similar experience. You just can't stop let you can did I make the right decisions one hundred percent I might my personal thought was if I can sit in this chair without thinking about sitting in this chair than I know a I've done it right but I Without, judge without feeling without trying to figure out where to go next it's I. Don't know if I'll ever get to that point.

Coronavirus also affecting the heart

"Was two studies that came out recently about how covid nineteen damage the heart and how that damage can linger for some months. Even after people recover Erica tell us a little bit about that. You're exactly right. So you know very early on this was thought to be just a respiratory disease, but we've learned well, I say we what is actually the doctors and the nurses on the front lines they've learned so much about how coping nineteen Can impact the body in. So many ways you know it's been six months since that first case was diagnosed in Washington state here in the US. So now they've learned that it can also impact the body and other ways. So there were two studies that came out this week that you refer to Jimmy. They were published Tuesday in the journal Jam a cardiology. That the virus can actually linger in the heart. For months even when people feel like they, they've recovered they're not necessarily in the hospital. There are otherwise healthy adults in their thirties, forties and fifties. But what happened was doctors in Germany, they took 'em are is of these people's hearts to three months after they were diagnosed after they felt better. Seventy eight of those people, a majority still had signs on those. Mariah's at the virus had some kind of impact on their heart. Sixty of those people had signs of inflammation of their heart muscle. Now, we're talking about the heart muscle. It's more about like if you're thinking about a home, you're thinking about the screaming you think about it computer it's it's the mainframe is what sort of holds all of those heart cells together, and that's where they were seeing the information. Now, he didn't necessarily translate into any ongoing symptoms and it's still unknown what that kind of inflammation what those signs might. Mean long term clearly, we're still only six months into this pandemic, but once you have some sort of heart damage there the potential for further damage down the line. Unfortunately, we still don't know what that damages Oscar and one of the other interesting things that they found out in that study was that it didn't really matter the seriousness of the illness. Some people had been hospitalized with cove in nineteen others were able to recover at home completely, they ran the whole course of it at home. So it didn't really matter how bad you had it. A lot of people were still getting heart damage. Yeah. There was another study also from Germany they were looking at autopsies unfortunately, people who were older. They died of Covid nineteen. There were all in their eighties they found evidence of the virus in the heart tissue of twenty, four out of those thirty nine patients, and in a few in some of them, the virus was actually replicating in that her tissue so. These are all pointing ways that seemed to suggest that the virus is somehow making its way into the heart. Again what Little unsettling is that doctors still really don't know. Oh that me.

Getting Ready for the 2020 Emmys

"The Television Academy has just unveiled the nominees for this year's edition of the Emmy Woods Nichols Fernando Augusta per checker and colossal rebelo went through the list and brought us the highlights. Let's have a listen. Pelada. Lovely to have you here. Let's talk about the AMI's but first of all, I mean, you have quite an experience with the amas right while I was very lucky last year while working out of our Los Angeles Bureau to attend the ceremony last for the seventy first. Edition of the Emmy Awards it is amazing. It really is a celebration of all things television not only of course, you're able to see the ceremony yourself and how it all unfolds that the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles, you get to sit right next to some of your favorite stars as they celebrate you know a year worth of work you get to watch as some of them lose some of them when at last year was quite. Special because it was of course, the last year that game of thrones was nominated the end of the saga of game of thrones, which was, of course, a really big deal and one thing that I really liked about that was also how they marked the series that were coming to an end last year by bringing all the cast in the production team that was attending the ceremony on stage and kind of acknowledging any TV show that's on. Air for. A few years it is a bit sad one. You know the last time modern family was also the last. So it yeah, it is. It is quite an experience. I mean we are still a few months to go until this year's edition. Hopefully, we'll be able to have it in person by then by September the television academy still hasn't exactly unveiled the plans for that. But yeah, it just feels as much as it is A. Celebration of television it feels very different to watch it in person than on. TV. Sets and if he's going to be a special year because I mean we've been watching lots of television during lockdown effing and one of the things don't you grieve me. Colada that I like about the Emmys they are. You know what they are actually fairly diverse compared to the film awards and that just shows TV can be actually quite progressive away. Absolutely I think. The nominations this year as well. Reflects that diversity is well and yeah it does show how TV has been able to catch up with only momentum that has been happening in Hollywood about asking for change when it comes to diversity. But even if you look at the shows that are nominated or even just a shows that we're watching now they are reflection of different stories that are a reflection of different themes it's not as standard I would. Say, for example, with the Oscars and I think that's what makes it quite an interesting and exciting. Well, let's talk about some of the favorites I did like sheets Greek being nominated for comedy series of things surprise it started as a very little Canadian series but then apparently people saying that my win actually because the critics love it oh, it is a fantastic show I definitely has been one of the ones I've been watching this year and I was very happy to see it getting nominated for the outstanding Comedy Series Award another one on that category that it was really happy to see their it's the kaminsky methods. This is a Netflix show and yes, it is very lovely with Michael. Douglas starring in it and it is very funny as well and it was so nice to see you know it. They're in the category as well and I just I was very happy I. Think. As we were saying the nominations this year do justice to the TV. We've been watching I mean drama succession I know we're both big fans and you know Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong both be nominated for best actor in a drama series very well deserved extremely well deserved and it is, of course, we're talking here about a big categories. As if you go down the list, there are more awards being given to all the shows we've been mentioning. Not Awards, nominations I mean. But yes, I was very, very happy to see succession I think personally, it has been one of my favorite shows over the last few years I can't remember being dad excited about a show in succession was already nominated for Fiore's last year. I. Know that Nicholas Brutal do who composed the sound score for at won an emmy last year. For. For the score, he composed for succession that would be nice to see it how it's catching momentum and that fans quite disappointed that due to coronavirus sat filming restrictions. The third series did not come out this year as planned but this is a recognition of TV done very very well, there's been other recognitions for example, the morning show had quite a few nominations. And again, it was a show that it was not like loved the beginning by tics but I think people kind of were said, you know what actually was a good series especially the last episode of series. So another one I'm very happy also have very significant for apple as well as the morning show was you know the show that apple try to use as? To make its mark as someone that could compete with the network giants and streaming giants as well. So not only is a very good sign for the a seeing Jennifer Aniston Steve Carell nominated but also to see apple when they've been investing into the right series hiring great actors, great writers, Great Producers, and that it actually pays off and Collado. So what if Jimmy Kimmel? This time I mean, as you rightly said, we don't know how ceremony is going to be, but you know what bt awards they did try and they did like a special ceremony. Names might have to do that because it's happening on the twentieth September. That's very the as the television academy has said that the creative emmys, which you know the creative emmy is usually happen a few days before the Primetime Emmys and they've already said that those are happening on an online platform a few days before didn't haven't clarified yet for the AMI's themselves. We still don't know exactly what are the plans now? What is interesting about Jimmy, Kimmel here hosting I think it's his third time hosting is that he is nominated as well. His show Jimmy came alive is on the outstanding variety talk series, and there's always very endearing one. You know one of the host sometimes even people introducing the award end up being nominated. So yeah, I'd be curious to see exactly how that's going to pay out I don't know. was there any surprise nomination here on this list for you? Fernando as F- in the morning show was A bit of a surprise for me and also in the drama category I mean, we saw men hurriedly having quite a lot of nominations itself Jeremy Pope for his role in Hollywood for a best actor on limited series or movie because Lotte I think competition program should go again to Rupo's drag race. Oh Yeah. His love rapport figured they will he would win again just shows how you know when Ru Paul's drag race started. It was a very Niche not known at the public, and now they've been doing this for over a decade now, and there's just shows how you know there is an appetite for a show like that that it is mainstream, there's no way you can't say that anymore and is so empowering it is, of course, one of my personal favorites as well. It was really nice last year to be there when they won and to see Europol come on stage with a lot of the. Of the show as well and some of the judges when we look at that category I'm partial to and I would love to see them winning again on that category.

The Joy of Photo Contests!

"Welcome back to another episode of this week in photo him. Your Hose Frederick Johnson Today on the show. I got my friend Mr. Ori- guten. He's the Co. founder over a company called view book. They specialize in photography contests or has agreed to come on. Let me pepper him with questions about the state of the photo contest industry where view bug is has been where it is now and where it's going Ori-. Welcome to the show man how you doing in great. Something to see you here. You as well as long time to time agreed on. In person good to see you over the camera, I. Know I know I think what was the last time we hung out was? Was it over drinks and San, Francisco? That's right. Yeah, no, that was great. To, see you again. Good to see that you're you're you're happy and healthy? Your sort of withstanding or weathering? This whole pandemic thing is everything. Same Kelty where Downing San Diego. Everybody's working remotely but. no-one would everybody's doing well. Yeah, no, that's awesome. That's awesome. Okay, let's dive in. It's Friday. Respectful of your time here, so let's dive in so view Bug Dot com view bug dot. com is the name of the site that you co-founded. What's the origin of that? Why why a photography contest sort of software as a service engine? Restarted View Book Further Kabbah a little bit over ten years ago when My Co founder Jimmy being enthusiasts, photographers were getting friends Amoeba family. Saying Hey, you. You have a really cool photo. You should to this contest or to that contest, and they would send links via email, or like a heard about these other contests, and then, when looking at those pages or sites. Some of them look Dina. IFFY or Scammy I wasn't sure if I wanted to send. My image didn't know what was going to happen with the copyright etcetera so. Start talking about it. Where we thought that it would be wise to build a community where the contests would be the backbone of the community and make sure there's a place where photographer feel safe and comfortable joining contests while giving it an interesting twist were contest used to be only Samira photo and see if you will not. The way we do it, this moral forgets contest, but there's a whole community around it. So that was the initial thought. We need to solve that problem of not knowing the contents was legit or not. Let's make it a safe environment and build a community around. I love that I. Love that because you hit it right on the head, one of the one of the reasons I. See this a lot in own in the twit pro community. One of the hesitant. Or the factors that lead to hesitance to submitting the photos is because of that terms and service that go along with some of these more shady contests. You know there's like yeah. We have the the possibility of winning all these great prizes, but we own your photo and we can sell it, and you know in perpetuity for three thousand years. You, know all this for for for the chance of winning something that you're probably not GonNa Win Anyway Talk. About how view bug is different from that. We break it where we go completely the opposite. They're photographers. Always keep the right to their images. We cannot sell. The images sat at all and again. We're photographers ourselves. A wilder stunned where we stand on giving the rights of your images, and you mentioned it try. Contest you participate, and you have a very low chance of winning, so it's not only up about being top top winner and the contest we have a different type of disease of the image, and then it's really cool. We give you a lot of analytics behind your submission. The other images you can get inspired by seeing the galleries of the participants and there's boarding blind voting, so we can share with you where you're doing ranking our comparing university others enjoying your images like are they cannon arts or It's. So we make it fun interesting and as part of an educational process rather than the participation nor gone this process so. It's very different. Feel look and feel when you participate in our contests. I like that I. Like that that that like you, said the exact opposite of give us all your photos and we'll do whatever we want with them, and you're probably not going to win anyway. which kind of praise on the uninformed in the week you know those kind of contests. That's interesting. Talk, talk a little bit about the community side of it, so is it. Is it just as giant group of photographers in every now and then contests spouts up that they can compete in, but otherwise they're talking amongst themselves, or is there another sort of modality to it? So there's another one. Right now. Over three million strong members. So. Every day it's so inspiring to see that type of photographers are joining the community, and it's all types of photographers from board threats to landscape to architecture. It's unbelievable. Finally Photographers and We know there's different type of photographers and there's different experts at the friend John Russo. When you join view book, there's always between thirty to fifty. Different contests not are open for submissions, so you can really explore your great DVD's. We see a little for the referees that are experts for example at architecture, and they see our context, and they reach out to us, and they say you know. I never thought that I could. Join contest out four drinks, but I saw that contest and I got inspired. I try order now I'm getting a lot of people. Congratulating me on my portrait, so we tried to have many different types of contests with different themes and subjects,

Drugs, weapons, and diseases like malaria, and even cancer is nothing new, but a new study shows that when trained dogs are able to sniff out code in Nineteen infections, quoting CNBC a new study, which was piloted by the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover the handover medical school in the German armed. Forces found that if properly trained dogs were able to discriminate between human saliva samples infected with SARS COV to and non infected samples with a ninety four percent success rate overall, the hope is this method of detection could be one day used in public. The study was conducted using eight dogs from Germany's armed forces. They were trained for a week, using thousand samples of both infected and uninfected saliva, also neither of the researchers, nor the dog handlers new, which was which. Marin because black widow, who conducted the study says the dogs can probably detect folic change which occurs when a person is infected the one issue, the dogs apparently can't differentiate Kovic nineteen from other diseases like influenza yet, but the research team says that is the next step and the Hannover Medical School in Germany aren't the only ones conducting trials on trained dogs. Researchers at the London School of Hygiene and tropical medicine are also training and studying dogs to see if they could detect covid nineteen from person's body odor, which they say is altered by respiratory disease, and as for the canines welfare quoting CNN. Dogs are known to be. Be Able to contract cove nineteen, but there is no evidence that the virus can spread from dogs to humans, the team, medical detection, dogs or sure CNN that the dogs are well looked after and will be kept safe from infection, our dogs we trained on a dead virus, and then have no contact with the individuals. They're screening, but will sniff the air around. The person says representative Jimmy Butler and the dogs will only be permitted to be touched by the handler, which therefore means there will be very low risk of spread of the virus from the dog to their handler or to the people they live with and quotes. While this might not replace the uncomfortable diagnostic tests it could, certainly as the article said be a boon for public spaces where you need to test large numbers of people instantaneously and where fever scanners would only catch symptomatic. Assuming that is that the dogs could sniff out positive infections in a symptomatic. So, we'll have to see how accurately the dogs can be trained, but sounds like a promising solution so

Oh, no, it's it's not, and that's why I appreciate it so much. You guys are incredible job that I don't think they get enough accolades and, uh Oh, yeah. I've been a member there for two years now and yeah, I do. I think it's the best in Jersey that I played on. They do tremendous, tremendous work there. Speaking of golf on Muirfield, who do you Who do you like this week? I thought Tiger came out at 25 to 1 favorite worrying. The favour is Rory and December Right now, But I imagine you know, Tiger will get a ton of action, particularly 25 warrants may change as we get closer, But look we have seen since we came back. It's a golf has restarted again. We've had five tournaments. Every one of them has been very good. And we've had a different winner every week, you know. Ah, yeah. Incredible. These air so difficult to pick winners. And I told you I mean his pool I do now. In India golf where you pick a different guy every week, and once you pick him, you can't use him again. And I finally hit this past week with Morikawa. I just threw Maura cow out there he winds up with and I want to thank Justin Thomas of fading at the ends yesterday is but you know you talk about a crapshoot. Picking winners in golf. PGA tournaments is brutally difficult meeting, you know, right now. What's that? There's so there's so much talent out there, not right. It's just, you know any any week. Somebody bottom out, so I completely agree with you. I mean, you look at even with you guys like Victor have Lynn, who was right in the mix to the end yesterday. You got whip since it was played great. So far this year has won twice already this year on a tour. You know Daniel Berger, who's played played very, very well. Obviously the shambo 12 weeks ago, and he's playing well, You know, you got so many different guys that you could go out there on a week to week basis and wind. I mean, you know, we saw TJ wait a couple weeks ago. He you know he's always a factor. So who knows? I mean, you know these tournaments there, It's impossible to pick winners. It really is. If you're just picking one guy and taking a shot, you know, it's really hard. You got to go with it. You got to go with the odds. 25 to 1 on Tiger's a good number. That's a good number. Wait. I gotta put a couple shekels on that. That's a good number. I don't know what you know Tiger hasn't played. I mean, the only the only last time we saw Tiger was when he played in that charity thing with Brady Manning and and Mickelson. So who knows? You watch on your go. Go ahead and schedule. Try to hit him. Eric, that's right before they hit me. Let's get the rat in Middletown on fan. Brad, How are you? He dropped off about Jimmy in the Bronx. Jimmy and Brock's joins us. Jimmy, How are you? Yeah, I'm good, Jo. One thing about a Rod and J Lo like all those Hollywood couples what happens when they split up? What did you see miss turmoil with Cohen? A lot more stable. That is, if you know what Jimmy. That's a point. That's a tremendous point. What? I didn't marry that. I don't even know what a married J. Larry gave their engage. They've been engaged for a long time. Have any A boat or a big rocks, but well, in most of the money, she's got more than him. Right. They up who keeps the interest, not the baseball guy the entertainer. So so we need that drama. Well, that's true. I mean, you're right about that. So you're right about that again, though. I don't know if they're not married, right? If they're just if they go into this, and you never get married, then who knows how that plays out, right? Not that I don't know Jimmy away from the celebrity. I understand. I understand your concern. You actually make a very good point. And that you know is is another reason why you watch Steve called with the beauty owner. Right now we got the sports. Many Tiki talks about how this unique college football season will benefit this power. Five conference This's Tiki barber with a radio dot com sports Minute College football is headed towards the season of conference on Ly scheduling. This is advantageous for a couple of reasons. It'll make away game travel easier, Obviously, with some exceptions, like Rutgers in the Big 10 having to travel frequently to the Midwest, but it also allows conferences to manage the protocol. As in testing procedures for the Corona virus. The glaring omission from the party. So to speak is Notre Dame, which, as an independent doesn't have a full complement of conference games. Even though the A. C C has indicated they will help this sets up a great opportunity for the A. C C to try to rope the Irish into playing a full slate in coming years or even let them compete for the conference championship for college football playoff reasons. Yes, there is big money with Notre Dame's independent TV contract, But making this pandemic helps them see that being part of something sometimes. Better than being alone..

"Next thirty minutes right here on the briefing with me. Todd really well good afternoon from yet. A Sunny Zurich again and again The weather continues to be absolutely gorgeous at this time of year. We've quite a bit to get through over the next twenty nine minutes or so. We want to start really by having a look at what is happening in this part of the world and certainly how countries In and around a Middle Europa at handled covid nineteen as pandemic some economic powerhouses. The United States of course the UK have had a bit of a miserable time. You could say but Germany and Switzerland are getting back on their feet and even in the last hour or so here in Zurich. We heard the country's main aviation hub of the national carrier. Swiss have outlined an incredibly aggressive relaunch plan. Of course if we go north to the border in Germany LUFTHANSA'S HOPING TO INC. It's bailout package to do a bit of the same well for more on this. I'm joined here in Zurich Rob Cox regular with us. When is the global editor of Reuters breaking views and on the line from start in south western Germany on a Rosenberg as also the line and she is head of Europe and the UK at the political consultancy Sigme Global? Welcome to both of you rob. I wanted to start. Do you think something is up? Maybe in this country I think also we look to Australia and certainly Germany as well as everyone starting to behave as a bit of a block at a time when everyone is supposed to be yes nice nice role in together are we moving into a period where people are maybe trying to score a few points. Released position themselves That look we are open for business. And we're moving ahead here. We're kind of in this competitive de Lockdown Mode. Where everybody you know? Calm countries like Switzerland which WanNa score high on the the Doing Business World business indicators and things like that and I think they have something like thirteen hundred. Us companies alone. That have offices or something here so everybody is trying to kind of to ease the ease travel. Do it in the right way. But also the same time to showcase that they've done a good job or a decent job of of battling pandemic of ensuring that their citizens have safe that that and doing it in a sort of you know an intelligent way And in some ways opening opening up the borders as a way to show that off now I think they're quite conservative. You saw you saw. The Federal Council was saying yesterday and in other countries. You know there are still this tension between the politicians as it were and the health professionals at still going on. We're still going to see that for quite some time. But there's definitely a sense of like like let's get moving again But the the the big issue though is you can't just apply what the Swiss do or the Austrians due to say London or Dublin or Perez and I think so. The worry is a little bit like we have these fights over tax policy right That you have this sort of race to the bottom in some ways and I think that's it's one has to be quite careful. So if the Swiss open up or the Germans and people say Look Frankfurt's open for business in Syracuse. Open for business. The worry is that these other guys. I don't know or London that engage a well. We better do it quickly. Problem is that there's no one size fits all for battling this pandemic Rosenberg. When you look from your side of the border but maybe across to Austria and Switzerland do you feel that may be an of course? Federal Council Minister over in Vienna yesterday front from Switzerland. Do you feel that the dock nations are starting to to get work in a bit of unison? Work as Mitteleuropa to say that we can together be the the engine that we can point direction. We know that this is a time of of not great central leadership. I'm not sure if there's really a cross border collaboration as as that. I think it's more happening more here. Is that individual states within Germany. I using this as an opportunity to profile themselves when you look at pandemics throughout history typically they benefit smaller entities smaller countries smallest state smaller city states. And exactly the same has happened in this pandemic and Jimmy Away is positioned the way is positioned also because of its highly federalized decentralized system which means you have sixteen individual states that can make their own lockdown and opening up decisions and these decisions currently being made. They're all over the place and I would say there's kind of a rather than we're in this together. I would say there's a little bit of a rivalry at the moment towards who can open up. Fossa who is more concerned with the health of individuals citizens than the others? So it's still pretty much an looking inwards would say Germany. Do you think that some of that also ladder is up though? I mean whether it's whether you're talking about Bio You're talking about no Don Volya that obviously people who are sitting at the Foreign Ministry in Berlin. There were trying to figure out. How do they put this into a concerted message Which they can put across globally? I get the sense. is certainly in Switzerland while the Swiss like to talk about being humble and they don't WanNa talk about having had a good pandemic you do get the sense here that they are trying to. Of course push their message. This is a country that is going to be open for business. If you need to come to Europe And hopefully do need to come to Europe to have a meeting. Then maybe you might consider coming here. I and I'm wondering if Berlin regardless of what it's doing with a federal structure with the states are doing they're trying to have some kind of unified message or no yes. Of course ultimately there's a lot of coordination still trying to be made on on the national level. Am I do think that Germany has certainly benefited from this Kobe crisis? It has turned a crisis into an opportunity and for a variety of reasons and I think Germany ultimately when you look at where Jimmy Stewart's just before the Kobe crisis it wasn't quite a weak economic position that was stagnation that was not enough of investment. Going on into key sectors of the economy that was all these arguments about stepping up fiscal stimulus and spending and constant pushback from the government that wanted to stick to strict fiscal prudence. All of this is different now. The government is saving business left right and center splashing out it's investing and the economy. The Gym Mindset has changed to away from Frisco prudence that was evidenced of course the supporting joint debt with other European nations. And so in a way. Jimmy's kind of taken an advantage from Kobe. In repositioning itself. And I think if you ask me what does Jiminy and the EU stand in one. Two years down the line. I think Germany will clear when I hear on that we just before we went on air we were talking and you just touched on Dublin Dublin. Of course as as essential in Europe which has done very very well at tech. But we're now in a moment right now we're of course. Companies are more mobile than ever. And certainly when you look at some of those players who are who are in Dublin. Of course their headquarters being On on the. Us West Coast yet. There is mobility They move around the going to look of course for the best tax breaks That are out there. Is this also time and again I mean. Certainly you see the power of the money that various spends on go and put your headquarters or least your your regional or European headquarters in Munich. For example do you see this kind of acceleration? Absolutely the ease of doing business index. This is this is going to be part of it. Everyone's going to look at how you did it during this crisis And I think and how quickly you were able to come out of it and I think come. Countries like like Switzerland Like some of the Nordic countries that have have done a pretty good job a relatively good job relative to France or the UK or Spain or Italy are so they're going to have a better pitch to make an a country like Ireland. Which is you know punches. Well above its weight when it comes to global headquarters for I say European headquarters for many of these TECH COMPANIES. The facebooks and people like that that is also.

That's nice again. I'm not sure didn't stop when the prosecutor was removed. The investigation continued and they didn't do prosecutor looked at it and decided there was no there. Are there okay so my my point is the investigator who came in was investigator that was being advocated by Joe Biden and Barack Obama okay so let's just say this it just the fact that it is true that the U and the IMF and others reformers and Ukraine were asking prosecutors step down and I understand that that's that's that's not the issue. The issue is what again I'm not. I'm not saying the president did or didn't do that but to suggest that that the Ukrainians should finish finish the process of investigating this is not in my opinion that outrageous in these not saying but the prosecutor not saying go after Joe Biden saying just finish the investigation they already dead. "These as some teams only keep three, but nobody keeps for and it's not like, oh, well, we have to we spent such a high draft sixth round picks skit cut all the time. If either one of those decisions doesn't happen. These two men don't come together and have this run. And I'm of this. I totally believe that if you split them up. It's not like oh will Brady would still have had four and Bella check would have had to. It's not like the separate of each other. They necessarily would. Have won any much less six. It was they come bind is what made them so potent and both of them never being satisfied, the both of them having the mindset that you could tell last night during the award celebration. When Brady was asked about coming back. And he was like he was asked what motivation do you need and you saw the confetti falling. And he said this like what more motivation could you need? Then this that is a perfect storm of coach quarterback greatness. And it's why they've been able to go on this run. But just like any other relationship they're going to be critical times at the beginning. How you establish that relationship? What's going to be your communication when you get certain critical decision when you have a relationship, you're married significant relationships, some person has to be in control to pull the trigger got certain things in one of your spouse would be like, I don't know what somebody's gotta be in control. And they've always had that with Bill. They've always had to stabilize enforce with craft and building that stadium that. They would have the resources to build a put the type of team that Bill wanted to have on the field. But ultimately when you've been married been married. A long time critical time, that's when your kids are either going to college are your kids are out of college. And you're empty nester. Do you really like each other enough to continue on with that relationship? And a lot of relationships are splintered right at that point. And that's the Jimmy Garoppolo point kids are way from college were empty nesters. Will we survive, and they were able to come up with the system we're going to ship Jimmy away and Tom played at such a high level that it made it okay to build do that craft supported both Tom and Bill in what they wanted to do. And they were able to get through that critical stage that they could get to Super Bowl number nine and get win number six last night. So you have critical stages how relationship established becomes important when you get that critical sites. Your kids are gonna move away. Are you still going to be in love with each other to continue that relationship that's the success of the patriots that's part of the patriot way. And I'm not going to remove any of them because I know Mr. crap is just as important as Bella check is as Thomas you make such a good point earlier that that bell. Check has changed his approach to the game. The way he coaches the game. And Tom Brady is clearly changed the way he treats his body his approach to the game..

And you've got a gimpy tyreek hill still outracing. Everybody to catch that it wouldn't have mattered that much to them had. They lost that game coming back to win that game. Scheunemann? At that moment if that pass wasn't completed New England was leading Miami. And they were they were trailing and could have lost that game that game matters. Of course, it does Blackstone. How about you? Well, as it's been said luck is the residue of design that was a play. But like you said you've got to re kill out there on a bad wheel. He's making the throw Mahomes is that you should never make in this league. You got four defenders out there. And somehow it still finds to wreak hill a lot of level. Seems like only a young Aaron Rodgers can make that throw. But I like what the ravens did they pressured him and took my homes to make this miraculously play to keep the drive alive. Keep it going to they could win the game guy right now is the NBA a formula from Baltimore and how to get through Kansas City at a beat Kansas City. And Tony Romo kept talking about throughout the game. You got pressure making make quick decisions. He does fumble the ball a lot. That's a concise eight it's a form of maybe Baltimore's the only team at least in the AFC that can do that. You did pressure be completed sixteen passes under duress tied for the most of any quarterback in the last ten years in this league. So what we saw that retail play. He was doing that the whole game. I guarantee you he'll be a sacrificial lamb it'll be gone. It's the Chicago Bulls. And it's the top of the organization until they get the Paxton form and situation settled you're gonna have situations like this where players feel like they have to take control and a new coach who's coming in and feels like he has to play the bad cop. "Six percent of your passes by throwing throwing the ball up in hoping someone comes down with it. You throw the ball knowing that guy's gonna be where he supposing beat. Yeah. So that's what's going to be asked of days. Now, I don't know how many times that he's run precision route because he loved Tony Romo because twenty Roma with brought up and says, I believe in more days than the guy that's going against him. We'll come down with this ball. She gave him -tunities where they didn't coach that like that that they didn't coach him like that. They said look we're good enough. If he's open throw it. But none of this fifty fifty and it worked. That's why you saw four interceptions rookie year. But one Tony Romo went away. One coming back. We'll give him we still believe in. Dance and you see interception. Started to creep up because he was giving dad's opportunities that dad dad hitting have been afforded that joke showbiz career. So as Calvo fan, I'm still hanging on as a cowboy fan barely on November twenty ninth at Gerry world. I'm gonna fear. Drew Brees Alvin Kamara Michael Thomas, but I'm not gonna fear Dez Bryant give them opportunities. You know, they know Sean, Payton exactly that my point. I still think this was a good move for Sean Payton, he is a showman. He likes star power. He likes box office. He likes mystique. He likes presence he likes reputation on reputation alone. I think Dez Bryant was a good signing for team that somehow got seven without him. But he could be a little bit icing on top of that cake. That's just about baking here bait and if on if nothing else if at at worst case, he's just a. Famous decoy for them. Then I think good. It's a good signing for them because I still cannot get through my head. How Michael Thomas is second in this league in receptions, when there's been no secondary receiver except for chimera coming out of the backfield occasionally lining up in the slot. That goes to show you just how creative and drew Brees mentioned imaginative this offense this well for that one guy. It is. I don't know how they do that. But you know, what they do skip. If you look at the guys that catch a lot of passes they can lineup anywhere. They they line them up in the slot. They put him on the left. They put him on the right? They put him in motion. They do a lot of thing. You can't. They're only Marvin Harrison, basically Marvin just lined up on the right? And caught one hundred four to three passes basically been one position he did. But now the guy who look at the Julio's the ABC's the guys that catch a lot of passes atom feelings, they move them around. Okay. Because if you just lined up in one place, okay, I'm gonna take can I can take your way if you just lined up on the right or you just land up in the slot lucidly. Okay. So did wait Phillips who you know, very well last week. Did he go into that game? Saying Alice just let Michael Thomas have his and we'll just shut down the rest of and we'll win the football game. Because Michael Thomas got his. But then let a Kamara get three touchdowns. And then let Benoit's which that's the of coach Bela champ code check goes into the game and said, we're gonna take the Monto atoms. Always. And he just says you can't have that. Okay. One thing. I love about bell. Check. You can't have that to win Bill. Check against this team. He would take away. Michael Thomas took three defenders take him on them. What happened Jimmy Graham started going little bit and say we're gonna take Jimmy. Away. And then and then a Scanlon he got going to sit. Now, we're gonna take him away to be able to do that on the flat. Because a lot of times you go into a game. We're gonna take a guy way we're practicing. Okay. We're gonna play combo coverage. We're gonna play bracket there. We don't lock it over here. But this is how we're gonna get to it in the game you draw up on the blackboard. You have to have guide that are smart enough says, okay? Let's go. Yeah. So in Dan's gotta, learn new terminology skip the Rops are going to be the same..

But this how we're gonna get to it in the game you draw on the blackboard. You have to have guide that are smart enough to says. Okay. Let's go. Yeah. So in has gotta learn new terminology. Skip the Rops are going to be the same. When I went to Baltimore. I had heard to Lincoln drive, and why bingo pick now derives means something different a short cross in Denver. Is it wall? Route in Baltimore. Yeah. A seven or a corner out in Denver is called Chevy in Baltimore. So now, it's how do I how do I get that? And I remember, that's you this is I had ta difference. I had okay. I had many Cadigan simple. Like crazy. They're gonna have to give him two or three simple routes that that he can digest quickly to by. They gave Josh Gordon. Now, you see the expanded. They tag the first couple of games, they tagging. Josh this run come back. Josh Rossland, Josh run an cut as he started to get more familiar with the verbiage in the terminology. Now, we can expand you see his role expand you see his production expand trust me on this. Josh Gordon has a much higher. Football IQ than desk. Does he just does? I'm not trying to insult Dez. I just know the two I know a lot about them. Josh Gordon has high football IQ as high off the floor. You got work to play in that offense. Sean Payton offenses, very similar. You're going to have to be smart because when you hear when they have a lot of verbiage, and they're the and you have to learn multiple positions. That's the things because Mike forced us to learn multiple positions. Because what happens if someone gets hurt? Now, there's a backup, but he would feel more comfortable putting rod at the X, and maybe shifted bringing somebody instead of bringing some of the plays that position behind Ed put rod there and let somebody play Roth or beat movie over there. I got it. So this is the one coach in the National Football League. Who is a watch this coach like watch what I can do when nobody else wanted to even try this watch. How can recreate does Brian? I can reinvent him. I can re- juvenile him. That's. What they will try to do on the fly with simple game plans just for dead and hope that he could catch that one or two balls and could make a difference Willie make a big difference. My takeaway from all my bottom line. This is I don't think he'll make them that much better. But he will not make them any worse..

"We don't know what the Butler trades gonna look like I thought there was really something extra with the Derrick rose fifty point gain that Butler didn't play in the team really rallied around him. But there was also like a little bit of an F you Jimmy Butler he's handled this as horribly as badly as I've seen in a while. I don't understand why anybody would want to invest in him. If I was a team looking at Jimmy. I would definitely put in a trade like offer the second did walked off the court. Yeah. Because if he his whole thing is that he's believed in Derrick rose this whole time that he could be this player again. And now if he's thinks that going forward, I would try to pry Jimmy away. A second. Yeah. Lakers. I think are a playoff team. Okay. See? Is the big what they're doing? Now. It's tight. It's a tight rope because one three week Westbrook injury or one for week Paul George injury, or whatever I think they missed the playoffs. They have to get hundred fifty five one hundred sixty games from those guys to make it because they're not good enough. I think that Westbrook could probably win enough games to make the playoffs like as much as he could what's enough like forty eight. That's the question. I don't know what the west is going to settle. That's a forty eight win team the can't shoot. Now. I know, but I just think Alex Brita. So I know that's my guy though. Alex. They the supporting cast is so confusing. They seem like they just have this type where is love his athletic guys. You can't really shoot. But like maybe can shoot down the road. Are we past the point now in the NBA? We're like we're just off guys who we could teach how to shoot really hasn't worked for a ton of teams like it worked for coli, and maybe like a couple other instances. But it seems like it's pretty fundamental if you cannot shoot by the time you hit the NBA you're probably not going to get there. The one thing that seems that can get better is three point range coming into bloom later like we were talking about on on the slack Kemba became a really good three point shooter. You go back in his stats. He's twenty nine percent thirty percent for four years. And now all of a sudden he's forty percent. I think you can you can add that Dennis spent this very polarizing guy in our slack. He is I'm last night. And he definitely takes a back seat to Luca every single. Yeah. Just I think they need to trade him. I don't want to. A riot on Dow's basketball dot com or the sites. I just don't think he's a good fit with Luca. But for him to be affected in the league. He's gotta learn how to shoot three's those KC guys. None of them are going to learn how to shoot threes this year. That's that's the team. They have Dallas not a playoff team. But I haven't -joyed the the competitive I love when they went to Luca for the coast to coast. To tie the Laker game. That was like such a big spot to put that dude into he they seem they turn to him in crunch time. Everytime saying, he's amazing. He's great. I feel vindicated that rockets I have no idea Phoenix isn't gonna make the playoffs. Can we agree that LeBron is on the all-time autopilot right now? Oh, one hundred percent is the fucking tesla. I'm gonna take a nap on the highway, right? I was I was there last night for their gaming the Mavericks, and I would say about seventy five percent. I was talking to someone on the team. And they they were suggest you think he was playing seventy five percent hard. I think that like fifty. I mean, what's weird is like you look at statistics. And it looks like vintage LeBron commission and he's. Time. He cannot try hard and games. And put a big stats. I also haven't seen early season LeBron up close in a couple years caught him later. It just seems like this is what he does now in order to to make it an eighty two game season. Great. But I'm with it. I fully supportive. He's it's incredible achieved. But let's stop having the argument about how crazy it is. Lebron does when the VP arrear go watch him play in November December January doesn't try that ARD. Yeah..

"You can go there and get into discussions with fellow NBA fans, and maybe even some ringer staffers. We'll be offering you guys, video programming. We'll have previews. We have some very funny videos. So it'd be sure you're checking out the ringer all day long on Tuesday while some great features, Jordan calmer about and his canter today we have some awesome features coming up, so keep it dialed into the ringer man, no matter where you are. Basketball is very good. Davis will win the MVP this year. The hawks trading Donncha which was a smart move. What is the caps are better without LeBron. Basketball is very low and welcome to the ringer NBA show. This is group chat and these guys fucking. Taylor Shaughnessy didn't know where. Gone Justin barrier. I never know what to say here fallow. What's up? How are you? Doing man. Good. How are you? I'm great. Thanks for joining us today. I know it was tough to carve it out of your busy schedule. That's me. This is the all Jimmy Butler. Everything podcast. We will talk a little bit. We'll talk a little bit more about other teams, but right now than. Coming. Have made themselves a complete Notre spectacle on the eve of the season. I can't remember a team imploding this early into the cycle. They're not even in the season yet, and it is one of the most comical dysfunctional who's afraid of Virginia Woolf except it's who's afraid of Jimmy Butler in the wolves. I will do a little recap of everything that happened yesterday. You want to do any like like wind blowing or wolves howling names perhaps. Okay. So yesterday Jimmy Butler who has been away from the team who has requested a trade who had top tiptoe. Now, in retrospect, this is very funny had timid, oh, come to Los Angeles to be like, I do really want to trade there had been rumors last week when we recorded our podcast, we thought a deal with Miami was on the brink. We thought it was on the about to get finalized, and it turned out that at the very last second reportedly Minnesota asked for sweetener. Whether it was take on gorgeous contracts, whatever it was it was going to be for Josh Richardson, some other stuff, bam was not a part of it. Apparently little did. I know when I was recording a podcast. So we, we had a week basically of like, we thought it was going to be a done deal Jimmy's away from the team. The timber wolves are getting ready. They don't look particularly good. Derrick rose starting at shooting guard. Thursday or Wednesday, rolls around and Wednesday rolls around. It's reported. The Jimmy Butler will be at practice that day in Minnesota. Jimmy Butler apparently shows up is according to Christine's. Yahu Butler showed up to practice late and soaps himself into a scrimmage on the third team to go against the starting group. According to sources, quote, screaming from the top of his lungs Butler uttered taunts at his teammates, including they ain't shit. They soft league sources said, thank you week sources. Most of the players knew the invectives were directed at towns and Wiggins, Karl Anthony and Andrew, thank you sources. Hanes goes on neither towns Norwegians confronted Butler at any point. Some players were motivated by Butler's theatrics, but others were distraught and speechless. Most notably, towns when practice concluded Butler stormed out of the facility and. Skipped stretching. That's not a great idea. When you're is injury, prone is Jay with.

"There is some of that and it had, I don't know. I know when you like when you lean back from it, you're like, I think lane populates the book with enough other interesting characters that you don't spend as much time as you might think with Dave. And I think are gone gone girl like the entire first half of that book is spent with somebody who's like plotting something, but you'll say something or just like thinking about a crime that happened, but he never things. I definitely didn't do this. And so something else must be going. Yeah. And so part of the tension with Dave two is when he does get brought in by showing Dave to hold on. Wait. A second part of the tension with Dave is that he is also very aware that Jimmy and Sean like cut him out of their lives. Like the stuff went down. He was a kid. Jimmy went off and was a criminal for a couple years. His wife died, katie's mom died of cancer while he was in jail, and then he remarried. Anna Beth and had two other daughters. Sean had a wife, and then his marriage is currently that he's separated through most of the book. They had a falling out. But like Dave has just not really been a through line for either of them in the same way. And so especially when he is confronted by Sean in the police investigation. There's a resentment to Sean that plays into him not really even to the reader divulging enough information for you to exonerate him like he's being cagey and sort of aggressive with Sean on purpose that there's a reason for that built into the narrative. So doesn't feel super forced us. Interesting, right. So I'm skipping over a bunch of stuff that has to do with how they find katie's body and do that because we got to wrap up. The main suspects are Roman fallow and Bobby O'Donnell. Or maybe they like hired someone to do it. Another suspect is actually Brendan Harris, the guy that she was supposed to run away with. He's being sort of weird and suspicious about it, but that's mostly I think, because he had the secret plan to run away with her and no one's really happy about it. Harris's dad, whose name was Ray, goes back with Jimmy aways and actually Jimmy went to jail because raid like knocked on him. Are you Jimmy Ray and actually raise nickname is just Ray because there are bunch of other criminal raise who had nicknames, and so his was just Ray, the criminal raise. Sounds like a bad like minor league baseball team. From Boston Lawson. And then the other main suspect is Dave's. Dave Boyle are Dave, and he, he like his hand is messed up and the cops notice that he's told multiple stories..

"You need those type of guys in order to be a good basketball team so we we've got you know we've got a lot of a lot of faith in him and you know he sits the type guys we want he's tough minded and he's he's a tough physical player larry looks jacked i mean have you seen airbrush be looks ridiculous yeah he's he's worked hard you know when we got him last year he he went right away to the the national team and you know his he is so big in his home country now i mean you know the the basketball landscape over there is really about lowry right now so when when we draft last year he he had all these commitments to the national team and he played almost up until training camp started and he he really didn't have a chance to to train and work on his body so when the season ended it was the first time that he was able to you know to kinda get down and dirty in that in that area and he's bought into it he loves it he looks great and you know we had a small commitment at the end of june or early july with the national team this year but he's going to be back here next week and he's gonna you know continuing just that that you know going at his his work to get his body bigger and stronger because he really needs it if you guys what you watch them last year where where he has an advantage with his size in the shooting ability is if we can get him in that mid post or elbow area where you know he can he can you know really do a lot of damage against smaller players what where he didn't have the strength was to get lowers basketball player and get in a position where you know he could he could take a defender down and rise up over the top of them so all of this plays into him getting stronger and again he's just he's still young guy and his best years obviously the head of them but the physical development of of lowry is going to be the key to to how good he can be and he's taken a big step forward in that area this summer with lebron out of the east is that changed the mindset for all the teams in east i'm sure it does for a lot of teams you know i mean we're we're not at a place yet that say you know boston and toronto and philadelphia but we have great opportunity to grow this group and and to get better i i said last year when made the trade for you know pretty jimmy away that you know we were hoping to get a jump start on on a rebuild with the asset so we got back and that's right and i think we did and now we've added a couple more so much of it is is development we don't we don't want to necessarily skip steps we'll be in a position hopefully in the future to you know to make some some bolder move but right now we're in that process or that stage of we have to see what we have with these these young players and my feeling is that of course you want to win at the highest level all the time my feeling is that what i wanna see more than anything is that this these kids kinda fit that definition of of what what we think chicago bulls players to be playing hard every night you know where teams you know they know that when they play they're gonna they're gonna feel you against them every night so that that's going to be the priority heading into into camp this year obviously when lebron leaves the.
