I've got a little beef here because after my thursday co you last week your most obnoxious caller by far the self-proclaimed legend legend in oman. And not by the way he not only called me out but he also lied. He lied and said that. I've been beating my chest. And if you if you check your archives on your show. You'll find that i've never done that. And he went on to call my dog yellow. Then you replayed that call on friday and us taunting me but legends. Timing wasn't wasn't it because right after he beat his own chest of bed. Wedding went on against the fighting jimbo. Fisher's so legend and by the way we should spell legend with a lower case l. Legend your now legend. A liar and legend the loser and legend the lying loser in that loss represent sunsetting on the and dynasty and by the way savings equipped dying his hair to look younger. He should also quit using ron pope. He'll spray hair. Everyone sees three that sad. Attempt that youth so legend with a lower case l. You're actually the worst representation of alabama imaginable. You're the kind that makes true alabama alumni cringe. You're merely a tailgate tiger. You're just another sad bandwagon. Wanna be always living in a pass. It's not even truly yours. But i wanna give you legend with a lower case l a chance to defend yourself face to face. So i'm inviting you to come on the mad dog show phil we can go at it real time so that the mad dog can go against the self-proclaimed legend with a lower case l. The lying loser paul. Please put legend on today for his rebuttal. Rackham caffeine is up next in georgia. Hello kathy how paul i wanted. I say i won't say. I'm excited about the sec. Network going to georgia this weekend. Come forward to seeing how they're thank. You also can about legend. I hope that he does come own. I hope that he's feeling okay and asked don. I have some pepped abysmal. I can send him for all the crows that he's probably that were not from Calc can about everybody. But i doubt we need to stay humble because we have beat alabama. We haven't won it in a long time so we need to stay humble and play our game and play kirby smart game. Thank you cathy garry next in south carolina. Hello gary paul great to be on your show followed for a long time since the late eighties birmingham and Love to see your success. Thank you so much. Had a theory ahead of syria. Wonder run by you. Because obviously i'm an auburn fan and i have watched With dismay and frustration at the dominant. Say even has hit me. Saturday night was this may be a wonder if this be a bit like mike tyson. You know mike. Tyson was scared people walking into the rain. He pretty much one. We walked into the arena. And then he got knocked out by buster. Douglas wonder if what jimbo did now. Obviously alabama still got so here you. Are you suggesting that three two years from now. We'll see nick sabin hangover four. Can you imagine how. I don't know if i'll quite go. That fall being someone's getting in the athletic commercial. I mean he's he's. He's a natural for hollywood. Exactly right but you my coaching perspective. There's such a fear factor in pucker factor when people go. You're absolutely you're absolutely right. And so hopefully it'll work for bond hairston later this year but But i just thought that was interesting. Hey thank you very much That is interesting. Jim is up next. Hey jim you know paul You know lejeune. I know legend but who is this idiot mad something. He's he's a madman. right. I mean we're not how alleged dog legend is alleging one. Are you mad madman. What are you come out here. Like billy pop off talking about legend talking about stuff this is. I just tell you one thing. Then he's not gonna come on your stupid show. Billy popoff madman because he's not going to make your show for you. You have to make your own show. You're not going to get a star like legend. You deserve it. That's all i got. Ledge apollo he. He's he's jerks anyway. I love it matt's on there. He's a star now. Right yeah right yeah i love it all love it. Thank you thank you jim. Darryl is up next. we're not. We're not number one anymore. Paul can even be vic. Savings assisted golden anymore. I wanted to. Florida game was not a flu. I really believe that. But then we go out there and we're double digit favorites and we get beat by rate taking. What are we going to now rain because there's property that's probably what he's going to decide to west but i think we know about say we all know number one is okay. Get leash really doesn't matter only thing that matters it'd be number one in january the fall. I mean you gotta you know what anybody says. Covers guys cannot develop players we got to a wide receiver. Now's the wall kuno. Band saver quarterback was a wall cold. I mean just a phenomenal but nominal job by coach. Smart in that coach staff so far would you agree I would totally agree. I think he's he has developed in and he's he's developers brilliantly now he just needs to finish the job. Let's check out robert in tennessee. Hey robert go right ahead paul alabama whole life. This worst team. I've seen put on the field and ten years. I mean i don't know with these coordinators. Keep jumping around is causing a lot of issues but whoever was running out office the other day why not hell. They wouldn't stick to two tight ends on that line to help blah bring a full back in there but it was a constant dose on it of it. It went on for an hour and they never made the adjustment. So i i don't know what to say. You know. it was obvious in the florida game. That alabama was light. On the line of scrimmage and getting their butts kicked all over the field and yet they're going to lose to football games this year but you know every year every year can't be that way you can win a championship every year but this rpo stuff look back in history. Paul the rpo crat. Don't win man. Thank you for the call. Appreciate it very much. Yeah pad is up next in texas. Hello pat hi. how are you doing. well thank you. I just wanted to say. I was born and raised in. Alabama are very well with the bear bryant era and that's bear bryant our shed on any given saturday the even the best team can be and everybody's voting to put shaving down savings coming and he's built alabama backed up so.

"Those victory doesn't mean as much if you can't go back and repeat your performance in the next week and the next week and learn from those things and that's what our organization and our team needs to do because we keep building the culture here to have a chance to have a championship team and that's the education apart pro and that's a very hard thing because this when everything was going bad i told this eliminate the clutter. You can't listen to social media. You got to believe in the things you do. Well now when things are good. It's the same thing. Quit listening to social media. Go back in the disrupt replicate what we did last week. As far as preparation and mindset the games will be different. Teams are different. But how you prepare is the key so that way you control what happens to you and it's about how you play not your opponent you lose to mississippi state a week and a couple of days ago and we all. Let's let's be honest. No not you but we all wrote you off. It was over. How did you find a way to bring the team back. Well i think education same way and told the guys now that you know all the stuff out there you were saying and believing were the only ones still standing here. Trust what we have done. Trust our history as coaches trust and we have to trust you and we have to be in this thing together and educate them about what it takes to be successful and sometimes takes a few failures for guys to buy in not by it. I guess but totally believe in the standard in the level in which you have to do it and hopefully our kids do it now. The the thing the challenge like you say is now. We got to do it again this week. At missouri missouri is a very tough place to play a play very well at home. And we've got a heck of a challenge. I want end on something you said. It's a very beginning First thing you do you win you celebrate and then you talk to the recruits because that is that is the future of this program. What a night it it had to be to be a recruit kyle field to discuss Those conversations As much as you can not identifying players but what was the what was the mood of those conversations you know it was tremendous and like especially for guys who came from a distance who had never experienced a game at kyle field. The atmosphere the environment the crowd the people the twelve man and then the competition level. Play an sec football planet. The planet opponent like yet alabama and the level which we played that was tremendous record. Reception is good. But i think it really opened people's eyes to what how special this place can be if we put things in a row and keep recruiting and get the right players because at the end of the day. Listen you gotta coach guys. You've got to coach them. Well but you gotta have good players and you gotta have great players and football. It's not like basketball. You get two or three guys. You can win a championship. You got to have a lot of hand. We're all better coaches with real good players. And that's one that's one alabama skis. They recruited very well. So we have to do the same thing and recruit to that standard so we can coach that standard and do that. It was it was a great night for that and it was great conversation. Spas good as it can be coach. Show we talked to you. Three weeks ago today Before you had lost a game and now we talked to you after you. You've won the biggest game of the year in the sec. Congratulations and thanks so much for making time paul. Great to be with you buddy. Thank thank you very much Coach jimbo fisher from college station on our first guest on. What is going to be quite a.

"This is the preseason top ten alabama oklahoma clemson ohio state georgia was down at the fifth position. Am started at six. I state. Where'd you go. North carolina mack brown. There's a spot waiting for you back back in bristol connecticut so it was an amazing weekend and we really look forward to talking to a lot of people about that this afternoon. I mentioned who better to start. Then jimbo fisher. You think this was some kind of second rate. Show that we wouldn't be talking to jimbo today. Pete thamel now. Okay don't don't answer that first question mcelroy. Tesol boys in plenty of phone calls. And since midnight after midnight eastern time i've had countless techs in countless tweets. Are you going to let matt from san antonio on the show after you guys of humiliated him for the last six years predicting that texas. A&m would beat oklahoma. No we're not going to let matt. Aren't we refuse to let matt from san antonio come on here and you're right man. We all collectively owe you an apology. It's our bama fan. Are you crying baby. Because you got your book again or man so sad. It's always next year alabama fan legend job rebbe. Drunken larry too bad to you lost. Hey matt so tell me this. I mean how. How crazy did you get late saturday crazy. I got christ. I was yelling screaming. All now is pumped out. Find me a black that that game. All that was on the best ain't engaged in a long time. I think better than the one at twenty twelve. What do you think. Paul circular voter. Yeah i mean the difference was I think the that game johnny. I'll never forget it because we were we were just. It was so stunning. The fact that alabama had just come from baton rouge were. They had won a an epic game right in the fourth quarter and it was at home. I mean i guess it's hard to compare. I think this was more of a surprise because that. Am team was was expected to. I think they were. They weren't far off the top. Tell yeah Standpoint we restricted lose. This game was nobody nobody And and it wasn't only that nobody was picking. Am to win the game. The game was just the game. The game had gone off the radar screen. We had. John told you not on the other day and john said. There's not a lot of buzz about this game. Of course. Jon said that about the florida game. We need john to say that about more games because every time. John says that we ended up getting an epic confrontation. One question for you butter. When are you going to be in college station. You be there in twenty twenty three or twenty twenty two. I wanna nietzsche man. Were you know what. I didn't think there was any chance we would be in college station this year. But i may have to rethink that. Because i don't make the schedule but i'll have to see some of the remaining games. I think the likelihood of us getting out there have have gone up significantly. Matt we will get together soon. I appreciate your call and really glad to hear from you. How about john in louisville. Hey john hey. I was looking forward to math call. Congratulations to matt and look forward to the 'cause from legend daryl and Gi and dear do you really think legends gonna call. Oh he's going to be so angry and then August the fall on with the coach. And then i think this is A week where. Jeff is going to come out of the bushes from columbus and i ended cousin john in alabama. I think you'll hear from both of them. Not to mention louis Leo the lion. Where's leo leo. Chastising me about not not even criticism coach show just the fact that i've said that he is unlikely to survive. I mean unlikely. That doesn't even seem to be the right word right now john. No he's gone from If to win By the way the best call last week was your Weiss classmate it's niceness bob up well i knew that but it's always nice to get confirmation from a from a from an old friend and and who would have believed that The two dynasties in the last seven years. They're not currently at least in the playoffs. And i'm talking about clemson and alabama but you've got five big ten teams in the top ten. That's just unbelievable. Yeah and and and the big ten has become watched Some of the iowa penn state. Game saturday night and i. It was really interesting. I think the big ten is fascinating right now. They are eventually going to start beating each other up but you know give them credit This is illegal. A lot of us wrote off And one more thing. Let's give georgia's from credit to. They went down to auburn and not even playing. You know their best game. They completely shut auburn down and won that game by twenty four. The i just thought of georgia beating auburn by that. Many points is still kind of scary to me. When i when i've been having covered so many of those games okay we're done with that segment. More of your phone calls at eight five five to four to seven to eight five when we come back. We'll head to college station in. Talk.

"Alabama goes down a saving assistant beach the master and on this columbus day. Good afternoon. Welcome to what we think will be fairly four hours One of the most amazing weekends and modern college football history. And we are here to help recap it all for you. Let's get right to the headlines before the calls and it's all about sloppy execution questionable coaching decisions and alabama. Going down at kyle field. And i'm having a little bit of fun with it. That is a golf scorecard member when Jimbo fisher said that he would Take saving down the summer saving responded the next day. We thought so brilliantly in golf golf we do about college. Football and jimbo has caught up. A nineteen game win streak was the longest active in a hundred game. This is just unbelievable against ap unranked opponents. I lost since la monroe beat saving in his first season his first law services former assistant ever we all know about the previous twenty four and the whole college. Football world has been turned up side down and we will talk all about this afternoon. If you want to hear what jimbo fisher has to say about the epic victory. Don't go anywhere. He will be joining us in just a matter of moments from college station. So there is some other news Lsu doesn't win place or show at kentucky and yes coach. Show as of this hour. He is still the head football coach in baton rouge job set of evidence as far as that goes dentistry tigers. That's all about us is at the past only way you crunch it. They'll not really like you can go in there and i could read everything you guys could right. I can take about an hour. Would read all that stuff and they go. Tell them about all that stuff on the best thing for me to do is be very positive. Understand the expectation lsu. I will say this. And i'll say it again no as to tell me about the lsu expectations. I know i was born with them. So i understand. I understand this another lsu standard performance on the job again. A totally annoyed. Exactly where i'm at. And i'm going to go to work as hard as today and oblique a promise you. I will not blake for anyone. Well you're going to see this comparison a lot over the next few weeks. Gene zik auburn and odur on choosing won the national championship in two thousand ten with cam. Newton who was fired right after the auburn game than two years later osceola on eight and eight during a similar stretch. Six and seven in the sec and the home losses are really starting to be a problem and and this weekend they have another home game. Eleven am kick against the university of florida. Their archrival how about them dogs. They went down to the plains. We all thought that could be a tough game. It was not. The dogs made mincemeat at of the tigers and they are number one in the country have been number one any time in recent memory. Yeah they were number one In two thousand eight remember that season they started number one. They had a sloppy opening game. They dropped a number two. And then a couple of weeks later. Alabama came in. And i believe how to thirty one. Nothing lead at halftime and They never quite made it back to the top In eighty two they were number one and of course nineteen eighty the ended it number one before that you have to go back to nineteen forty two and lane kiffin been popping the over oral reading bacher after A huge win huge by a two point conversion. One of the games In any other year we would be obsessing over this game today. It was one of the great games of the year in college. Football or any other year and We are now getting to it..

"Playing freshman and sophomores and this even though they're very talented that doesn't mean they can handle all the situations distress the game management situations of game third-down red zone tight zone coming off. The i mean understanding how important every play has just because their maturity level they may have they being grown man bodies but their mind still haven't experienced although scenario so you get the inconsistencies and isn't and other people have town across the board. And i think the transfer puerto has a part to do with that. But i mean when you're constantly rolling over your team you're going to have growing pains you're going to have those guys trying to emerge into that and we think they're all they're not the fourth year juniors and fifth year seniors. That used to you. Remember this paul. I remember time in the seventies eighties early nineties the team with the most seniors a junior and senior starters on the sec like seventeen eighteen years and so now the influx of new people. When i know what's been that way for a long time but still that doesn't make them any easier when they have to go playing games performing a high level every play and not have some downplays and which allows the other team to be in the game. It's affecting everyone also. I mean i'm not saying it's affecting you. Because i mean we've seen you in one tie game and you pulled it out. Yeah but it. But i'm sure the fans are saying. I thought we were supposed to be the top four team in the country. I mean it's just i i. I'm curious right ball. It is and it's part of growing pains now. It's like the other day. But you gotta have urgency and i think i think that's what i was trying to tell our kids the other day and thank potential means you can do it but i wanna know. Are we progressing to do it. And i think that's all part of it and how quick we can get them to do it. How quick leadership team can emphasize that on the kids and how much urgency they have to make sure that we're fundamentally sound because some of the issues we know the game. They're not skiing and they're not lack of ability their fundamental issues right means we got a coach. Better put them in better position and they got to execute a little better. And i think that's part of when you have new inflex groups. Bessie like for us on the offensive line that group take as much chemistry as any unit together. Because you've got five and like was four on one page one. Just be a step off and that constantly that allows it makes it look bad. But that's the way the games play. Finally you always hear about Corrections and adjustments between the first and second week. We're now entering week four. But you're dealing with a different quarterback now for a couple of weeks and you're you're hitting a stretch of schedule arkansas missing alabama. It doesn't end can you can you do. I know you can do a lot of coaching during the week. But can you really change much as we get into this part of the season. I believe he can fundamentally. Can i think schematically you can do things. And i think it's how you plan how you implement and how the kids are willing to make sure they understand the film what to judgments are and their abilities and to learn and how you teach conceptually not just teaching conceptually is a very big part of football. Today sometimes gets overlooked sometime. We teach some people teach plays. If you teach conceptually you can always adjust off concept. It's hard just off memorization. And i think that's a key to allow you to get better during the season coach pleasure. I know it's a busy time. We always appreciate when you can draw by paul. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Jimbo fisher joining us from college.

"To keep espn at the top visit. Ibkr dot com slash fantasy football to learn more. We are back really looking forward to our next guest. He'll be part of one of the most eagerly anticipated match up to the year in the sec. When arkansas takes on texas. Am in arlington coach. Jimbo fisher welcome to the program I know it's been somewhat of a bizarre couple of weeks but you look pretty good though no worst aware. How are you doing well. This ain't i always beginning of a new season. Is your evolving your team developing your team. And the things you do. Well you do poorly and coaching them up. And you know watching this team evolve can be. I heard you after the game. I think it was after the game when Somebody was talking about the potential for this team. And you didn't seem to take too kindly to that word and for those who miss it. I wouldn't mind you explaining that description of your team because you said it reflects on everything does potential as the potential made you have ability. But you haven't done it yet. That means you need to consistently play a better in a higher level and potential can be a great word in the beginning but it can be it can be very detrimental word as you keep progressing along in the season and we're three games and we're we're nowhere near a perfect team and we're always the hopefully evolving each and every week but you don't want potential attached to you. Want to see progress attached to you. You're undefeated you've got quite a stretch. But whatever knew that would that would be the case. But i'm curious about your thoughts on the quarterback situation. You lost your starter. You have a young man who came in and did lead you to a tough victory. How do you feel about the offense right now. Under zodda existence that can get the ball all parts of the field. He came in a very tough situation and cholera. Got thrown into it and we didn't play well around him. Either it was. It was not just him. It was magnified because of him Receivers tied enzo line. Run mean different guys but then he was able to really pull it back in the last two drives. He had that football game was really remarkable. With the way we were playing in that. See that gives me tons of hope. And then i thought he played a very solid football game last. We'll get one mistake with a pick. But he made three touchdown throws kubwa really outstanding. Good on third down managed the game. I thought played a very very solid game is progressing very well listen. He has ability to beach with his legs and he can definitely get the ball to all parts of the field with his arm. Let's turn the page to this week. And i don't think you've missed. Maybe maybe weren't paying attention but you are now what arkansas has been doing in your assessment of what you've seen of them. Well you know it's funny each and every team across the country this year. It's kind of. I say a different year. Everybody's trying to find their legs. Arkansas found him either one of the few teams that have played very solidly all three games. They're running the ball exceptionally well. You saw what they did in texas game and other games in which they played very good ground. Ground game quarterback jefferson's doing now standing job of getting the ball down hitting so many big plays receivers or athletic tight ends a good player Backs can run it. Defensively barry always done a great job. Barry mixes three down front. Four down fronts blitzes multiple coverages and that team is playing very physical. They're playing very hard to play. Very disciplined and wrestle. Teams are very. Well so i mean they're playing in all three phases right now well into the country. You'd say everyone in your career winning a national championship being in the playoffs playing for titles. I i'm curious about you'd mentioned barrio. Open because a lot of people have really Painted a very positive picture of him if somebody that has gone against the best everywhere what is it like to go against him very multiple. I mean he makes you dot is and cross t.'s. I mean he's a zone guy. He's a man guy he's a blitz guy. He's a three down guy he's a four down guy and the multiplicity of things he makes you think as a play collar but he makes your kids think on the field because of how you have to set your system up and i think he does a really good job of that coach. I know you can only focus on what is ahead but As a fan as somebody. Who's in this league. I'm sure you you look around when you have a minute to. And i'm curious just overall because we've seen already we're we're just three weeks into the season so many bizarre things happen. What's going on here. I think you're into a new world now. I think you know you're into a transfer of puerto world so teams are going to change drastically good and bad. Some guy's gonna leave play teams other teams going to get new guys so i think the different groups of people always coming together. I think you're now. I think all your name image and likeness things. I think it's a new thing for all these kids to handle and deal with. And i know it's great for them to get it but it's a lot more added pressure in other added things to to what they've got going on and i is this landscape of college football constantly changes. I think the kids are going to have to just think. That's what you see. And i think you know you're getting really good performances and then you a little bit of inconsistency and certain areas but in the teen talented are still finding ways to win. But i think that's part of the new world in which we're going to be in part of it in my opinion in college football from now this. There's also an expectation and you'd be you've been there You know having the defending national champion. You know how tough it is and you you. You went the whole season without a loss until the end. And we see this whether it's a clemson whether it's alabama ohio state oklahoma it just seems like these teams that we have. The the bullet bull's eye on their back are struggling this season. So far this and here's the other thing guys. Don't stay in school as long anymore. So you're getting a ton of guys are hitting at junior thing and they're leaving and going to the wall of a sudden you're playing freshman and sophomores and this even though they're very talented that doesn't mean they can handle all the situations distress the game management situations of game.

"Line that Is way off. Two years in a row The other side of it is yes. The gators are better than what people are giving them credit for being. They look at what they lost. They don't look at what they have. And i would say to. You is a suggestion. That outside of georgia and alabama the knowledge. You have the rosters in the rest of the sec is somewhat superficial and if you want to get more re- Viewership you might wanna have your staff do a little bit more depth research so that the people that Are calling the games they can talk to and find out in depth what they see and who the starting backfield is who best players are all of that. Because i don't get that on this show. And i think it would add a lot to the show if we had more talk about the individual players on the other team. Because we've got some very good team cindy sec. That aren't alabama and georgia. Thank you very much for the suggestion. Let's continue with more phone. Calls and tow is in birmingham. Go right ahead. Paul finebaum on her toe. We're doing great man. You good to talk to you about to know paul. What poll man. I'm gonna miss. You just say fan. I'm kinda salted about the game about the referendum way happening but at the same time boys in the been in that position to move. They gain weight d. to number four on the field. You know what. I'm saying so. You know i'm assaulted by there. But we're going to recoup against lsu lead Another thing is this all. They should've worn that game against Penn state I didn't like the play calling and alban over should won that game by online. But i also tell. Everybody is fine on the best game that i've seen. I have seen man that i saw saturday was fresno state and ucla. I'm all around college football fan so patriot and they were against it. So you know just just to meet with the best gang alabama. Florida was good. That was exciting gain ba- fresno state and ucla. That would have been the best game on saturday. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you very much. Appreciate it. Jenny in houston. You're on the air hello jenny hey thanks for taking my question. Hey i know you have a crystal ball. And i'm trying to figure out what you think might have might happen if molin will start playing anthony. Richardson a big florida. Gator fan I hated that he got injured. Hated and he wasn't available in Our last game against alabama. And so what do you think the future might hold if he can get in there and play and if he was able to play this last game. How do you think that game might have been a little bit different. I think if anthony richardson had only played on one play in the entire game. It could have made a difference. Because i think he he's he would have been hard to stop on the two point conversion Just did not like that. Call at all and richardson. I think would have given them a lot. More mobility an option on that play. I think it would have been. He could have had a difference Yeah it's it's a little bit hard to get to guess. He could have helped him in the first half. I mean i know. He was scheduled to play. The third series. Couldn't have been worse than we couldn't be any worse than what florida had. Hey thanks for the call. We'll take a break. We have jimbo fisher head coach and n they take on arkansas..

"Even stay late if you haven't gotten your calling. Thanks for being a part of the program. What a weekend and what a day it is to react. Let's get right to it. And then your phone calls here in just a moment. Alabama and florida. dan mullen alabama. I hope we play them really soon. Check the schedule. I don't see an opening until first saturday. In december could it happen maybe alabama was outrushed by one hundred fifty four yards in its win versus florida. It's second worst margin in fifteen seasons under nick saban. The only team with a larger margin was arkansas. Oh seven backfield included mcfadden felix jones and peyton hillis we. I'm going to save time. Because i want to hear from you. But i think everything that has been said speaks for itself about what happened in the swamp. I heard from a pretty prominent player From the alabama side yesterday and he said i didn't realize it was going to be that loud well yes it was that loud and it was deafening on all accounts and a pretty amazing performance by the florida gators. Meanwhile oh alabama want to Clemson ohio state slip in. Ap top twenty five despite wins. Yeah those are two programs that are heading in the wrong direction and with the blue bloods looking mortal. Is this a year for a big shocker. Pizza will joining us in a few minutes to on that might be most losses by rank teams in the first three weeks of the season. We'll welcome to twenty one. Next year was oh five sixteen had a bunch of ninety eight. We're only three weeks into the season. Big twelve they're doing okay. Esi pac twelve is not. Can't wait for the more alliance games so that number can even be worse. So there's so much react to over the weekend not only alabama but auburn going to happy valley The mississippi state memphis game. Yeah we're here for all your calls me while aggies up next for arkansas. Their average who said that who would dare say their average. We're playing very average. I mean i mean we're we're much more capable what we can do but doesn't potential doesn't potential is the worst thing you can have mean. Jane doesn't it. I hate to work potential. Somebody said you've got a potential to have a good tan drives me nuts. I mean. I'm not coaching right. And they're not playing right. We gotta get better and all those aspects and we got we gotta grow up across the board and everything. We do play with much more consistency as a team and learned to play off each other. Okay well we'll talk to jimbo fisher in twenty six minutes and get his take on the big razor by game pizza animal from yahu mcelroy on the alabama game and teo l. boys later on officiating. It was a story over the weekend. The sec releasing a few statements clarification mix up both in penn state and in memphis the memphis. Where have you heard about this. Just what we're going to show you. That's kind of hard to describe what let's let's video speak for itself memphis leading. Twenty one seventeen You kinda gotta give this guy credit. He just walked in there. So you know what i think. I'll pick the ball up all run. It ninety some odd yards and see if anyone notices. Nobody did until until after the game when the sec issued Multiple statements the sec. Officiating pr person was busy on saturday. Let's get to your phone calls. Eight five five two four two seven two eight five. We start with john in louisville. Hello john good afternoon comment some the gains and get your crystal ball thoughts on the playoffs. But i wanted to just complimentary on your interview with Or king last week. Grace and dignity Just so positive and Kinda stood in stark contrast to the usual suspect. Callers who liked the disparaging denigrate other callers. I mean he was just class for those who miss it Horace was part of a group Honored by the university of georgia on the anniversary of the those four breaking the color barrier in athens and He was spectacular. I'm glad you. I'm glad you Made mention of that so impressed by I wanted to see if alabama was good having played A band miami team in mercer there now and i was wondering good. Florida was while i was so impressed. Auburn impressed those were great gains in georgia. Look real you know. Well balanced I thought and so you know. I i'd like you. I came away with thinking. Well if all Clemson can get us two hundred and eighty four yards and Offense they're not much and always you gave up another five hundred yards in defense so and say look forward of course oklahoma. You know. I think oklahoma did one thing. They say the nebraska coach job for at least four weeks. So as i look ahead. Just you know. Just making some assumptions. I wanted to get your thoughts. I think alabama and georgia will run the table and one of the two will lose out the finals. And then i look at oklahoma and oregon Who have easy schedules. Oklahoma texas may have been there tough as a match. That's gone in oregon. Ucla been their toughest match. And that's gone so i see them being undefeated. So i see those is the final four although notre dame as bad as they are may run the table because of an easy schedule. But i totally see clinton issue out at this time with one loss record. Do you think it'll be a one loss team. In the final four notre dame will be out by the way notre dame runs the table. Don't don't sleep on their schedule. They have wisconsin this week in cincinnati. Next and i blew it. Then those are those are in you. Know i think notre dame has a pretty formidable schedule quite frankly With north carolina on there and stanford late. I mean they they really i. I will be surprised. Notre dame survives out schedule. But if they do. I would have no problem putting notre dame in i kinda some of those Teams because North carolina. certainly. Turn things around this weekend. And i forgotten about wisconsin. You're right paul by the way Cincinnati is a team That a lot of folks has a legitimate shot at getting into the playoffs. And if they can beat notre dame that is going to be one of the biggest wins ever for them. Hey thank you very much for the call. Eddie is in florida. You're on the air. Paul thanks for taking my call man. What a great game road damn tied a. What a great game in we. Hey let me just say this. I know you're gonna have a lot of college calling in panic involved. I am not worried about. We are good or right for we supposed to be neat. Hate to break it to you. But that's that's a pretty much the say delusional response there. If you take a good look at the way the alabama defense performed and coached opo april for some reason. You're breaking up which is a good thing to do right now but breaking his hard to do especially when you can't see the forest for the trees i'm not i'm not suggesting alabama's gonna lose. I'm just suggesting that they have issues and florida. Blue them up in those in those vulnerable issues that we had been told. We're no longer going to be there. They have some issues That need to be corrected or otherwise The eddie's of the world will be jumping off bridges. Soon we are heading to a break. Eight five five two four two seven two eight five. That is our number jimbo fisher bottom of the hour all aboard and what. What was the train that was supposed to be running through here today. The shane train. How's that doing..

"Espn dot com slash fantasy football for back sec media days on a day that began many hours ago with the arrival of vanderbilt in alabama and this afternoon mississippi state and say it seemed like just a normal wednesday immediate as until story came out of texas that said that the university of texas and oklahoma have inquired about joining the southeastern conference. So we just got through chat chatting about that with jimbo fisher coach ross. Bjork is here as well. The athletic director ross. Thanks for being here and tell us what you know about this and what you think. Well paul we were chatting off air a little bit. I came here to support our players. Marvin and kenyon and coach fisher. And just seen the media in a while. And i thought it'd be good to just get out and about in in the footprint and catch up with a lot of people in the industry and and i walk in and pretty much. The news was hitting as we were walking in the hotel and so i was caught off guard. Just like you're just like a lot of people here in in hoover were caught off guard and our position is look. There's a reason why we left the big twelve back in two thousand eleven and started in july first of two thousand twelve is that we wanted to have a standalone identity and the state of texas and all the turmoil that was happening in college athletics at the time and so the. Sec's been a perfect fit for us. And we believe that we want to maintain that that same identity. Perhaps there's a reason why texas and oklahoma are looking around. If that's the case. I think jimbo said it on the podium. Of course they do. They want to be in the. It's the best conference so there's a lot of uncertainty. I think right now in college athletics. So i think this type of story fuels that a little bit but from our perspective. We love being in the sec. We love being the only program in the state of texas. And we're gonna maintain that position but we're also going to make sure that we are a leader in college athletics and we'll see what the future holds even at two different schools in the you sat in these rooms for a long time and it is for the most part collegial group of athletic directors and headed by about commissioner. Sankey a i. I don't think you have a good answer for this. Because i've seen you you making the rounds here but have you had a chance to talk to anyone that is in a position to know more. I haven't. I've been running around a my phone. Obviously has been buzzing calls from lots of people call athletic directors around the country calls from other eighties within the commissioners sankey. And i will. We'll have a chance to catch up at some point in time..

"It seemed like every day. There's something about nick saban in the air. We had him the other day. Then jimbo fisher talking and now. Nick sabin has responded. He was in mobile alabama. Kansas splits with athletic director Jeff Long two days after parting ways with Les Miles

"Get you updated on what is happening in lawrence kansas. Where less mild was let go the other day and then this afternoon the man who hired him and presumably let him go has also been shown. The door crisslow joining us on that story and others. Chris thanks for the time. Always good to have you on and give us the latest. How did how did how did this happen. So quickly with jeff long. It's great to be with you. Always i I really felt like we heard the news about less miles that this was just it was going to happen with jeff law and just did not senior way. He would survive. I think what happened in a lot of donors a kansas at the end of the day. The president a chance to learn. Douglas giradi heard from several influential donors that they just did not want to be the guy to hire the next head football coach and i think when you look back sort of having all the down with less weight ended there that The more that they thought about it. And i think jeff athletics look long enough to know he said in a statement. Today was going to be a huge distraction more hung around and and they wanna make a clean break. Bring somebody else in to hire the knicks head football coach. Oh by the way they got issues the basketball program. Well they certainly do. And i saw her. Danny manning announced that he was a contender for the ad job. But as we. I don't know whether tennessee is the template but you do need an athletic director to get in there. Fairly quickly don't you. Yeah you don't the what's your proverbial tail wagging the dog. So yeah you gotta bring somebody else somebody. And it's going to be the ad someone that's that's gonna be the football coaches boss. I tell you name to keep in mind. Travis goff and northwestern we went to kansas undergrad. There how highly respected and sort of in the world. And he's a guy that you're going to hear a lot of push for from donors from influential people there k you to bring in to come in higher this the next head football coach. I think a guy will be certainly equipped to deal with. What's going to come their way on the basketball front as well talking to crisslow chris. Let me just take a step back and go back in time time to lsu and unless miles and after this information dumped the other day and learning much more about what happened down there and what didn't happen. I'm curious as a reporter who has covered so many scandals in so many so many big stories in college football just your your takeaway from from the progression of that program with with joe alita and less miles to to really where it is now and where does it go to try to clean up a rather tattered reputation. Yeah you think back to two thousand eleven ten years ago paul. Lsu's on top of the world now. Granted they lost alabama national championship. But that was a great football team In in a team that was is elite as it gets and now here. We are ten years later and they won the championship last year. But a lot of things off the field. A lot of things going on you know you. You always felt like there at the end of his tenured. Lsu that there was a lot of people. They're out to get him. When i say out to get him that wanted to move on. I just felt like they could do better. But as you know you know the sec. As well as anybody yeses. He thinks they can do better. Except for maybe in tuscaloosa And i think the some of the political forces around lsu sorta helpless. We're on his side to leave. Certainly it and four games the sixteen season they got it in. You heard jimbo. Fisher's name all sorts of aim. Tom herman the end up with a lot of people felt like that was never going to work with all the old winter national championship last year and really a great job assembling people going out and getting staff around in but now here we are off the field with this complete invested in investigation. As some of the way things have been handled with sexual assault domestic incidents going back before was head coach So you're right. There's there's a lot on their at lsu Just like kansas. You've got issues with the basketball team as well So it's It's a mess right now. We'll see where it all

MagSafe for iPhone 12! What Is It & What Can It Do!?

"So mag safe by the way what a troll of name everybody who the sport from their Mac book so much and like us year like in Dungle Hell watching this event and we're bringing back safe back and you. Get this warm flicker of glow and they're like it's a giant circle for your phone. What's safe about the point of maximum says that it would detach from your laptop when you tripped on it so the laptop wouldn't go flying. Do you think that your phone is gonNA attach from this circular magnet when you trip on the cable and it won't go? There's nothing safe about. Trading on the goodwill towards rational ports laptops. And instead it's a circle. So it looks very much like the like the Apple. Watch charger IT'S G. So the phone consult charge using your old she chargers a lot of confusion about this yesterday. So he can still just charge found aled while charging patio. If you buy apples meg safe one. Yep. It will use magnets to click on the back of the phone line itself in charge of fifteen watts, which is faster than most. Not As fast as a cable. But. The magnets are strong enough to hold the thing on the back of the phone and I swear to God. The point of this is so that when you get into bed at night, your phone's dead and you still want to screw around on your phone while plugged in dip you can. That's that's one hundred percent why they made this happen only if they made it like a six foot cable though. So it's an open standard. They've published the SPEC. There's there's some NFL stuff floating around. Anybody can just magnets they can't. They can't dram the magnets as far as I can tell the question is, can they can they MSI made for iphone drm the fifteen watt charging speed day? Definitely. MSI APP charters. So yeah. So they're definitely there's little NFC tags and the cases and the official stuff. So I'm sure they can software rate limit the charger, but anybody can make out dull Cardi making car mounts, Sco she's already making like it's happening. This is the accessory ecosystem for the iphone in it is all happening. So that is built out so that when they take the port off the phone, everyone's already used to click in little circles on the back. By the way that we've had this whole environmental conversation. To Max's circle looks very big. Compared to how tiny? Lightening Cable. Giant. It's like a coaster that you're throwing around wireless chargers waste electricity compared to came the radically less efficient, and so it's not good for the environment. He's where the starter apple buys Tesla. Conspiracy Theory was taking the port off the phone I'm saying that they're buying Tesla. Tesla Power Wall. So it's all happening. I think save is exciting I for one like I have a wireless car charger amount in my car and it's the it's the best. And so being able to throw your phone on there and taking off is really awesome. They're already all kinds of cases for that. I keep thinking about my little Osmo Jimbo. Yeah and so the new one has a magnet but you sound like fiddle with a clip to get it on your phone if that thing just becomes a MAG safe attachment. Like there's a million things you were taking your phone in and out of yeah plus they're going to sell more pants because people have to buy special pants with extra pocket with protective line or added to keep it from demagnetize credit. Battery packs that just magnet on the back that's was your iphone mini problem like there's just like a bunch of cool ideas that happen when you have. A magnetic attach things to found. The question is, how strong are these magnets? Can they hold the way of a battery pack? Can they keep your kimball mounted while you're I don't know doing extreme sports. Like whatever people do? Get. You're bombed down the snowboard mountain. Well, those magnets mess with the compass because that was a problem on the first phone that had A. Surger the palm pre. Just pointing that I get ahead, say I'm pretty sure like mom rushing the phone out the door and crap, the compass doesn't work. On their cabin board of problems. Far, below like sprint exclusive. Hopefully, it's like did anybody check the magnets and like five thousand apple engineers assigned to that problem now? I, think it's really neat I. DO think that it's obvious. The march taking off the phone is underway I very mixed feelings about this.

WFH From Barbados

"Global tourism as you might expect, has been way down this year the number of people going overseas on vacation declined by a massive sixty, five percent in the first half of the air. But this hit was especially bad for Barbados the Caribbean island nation has built its economy around tourism, and normally this is a really great business more than a million tourists typically visit. Barbados. And they're all these businesses that depend on these tourist hotels and restaurants and local farms that supply the restaurants and all of these people count on the tourism sector. It makes about a third of Barbados's GDP as people started to halt their plans for trips to places like Barbados those jobs and businesses, they took a huge hit. So the country's Prime Minister Mia Motley. She had an idea and I spoke to UC skeet about this. He's the US director at the organization that promotes tourism to Barbados Prime Minister Recognize that we have an opportunity to welcome these individuals who are working. Remotely to come to Barbados enjoy all that the Allen has to offer and stole be able to work. So what it did is it allowed us to look beyond short-term visitor and create lungs. The visitor is on the island and the government developed a special new visa twelve months long, and they're just a few conditions you have to work for your employer back home ending at least fifty thousand dollars a year that is, you know you're not getting a job in Barbados also, you pay two thousand dollars application fee and you need your own health insurance which travel insurance can typically cover. Application is approved Bam. You can sit up let up in a hammock overlooking the Caribbean on horseback. Emiko horseback take your pick and you know probably not very surprisingly daring after having seen this ad over two thousand people like, Sean. Have applied for the welcome stamp visa and it doesn't sound like a ton but using explained why this is actually a really important economic boost, they have to find a place to live. They have to eat this hurtling going to participate in a lot of the attractions and activities in addition to that. Then no become because I can guarantee you want to come into the welcome stamping Barbados they're not gonNA WANNA leave. So they're also become a part of the voice that tells their friends and families at that. You must visit Barbados and I think that then has even longer term benefits and I. Think that's certainly a win win. But of course, this question comes up in my head, right like, could it really be this easy I? mean if it is maybe the entire population of the world is going to end up in the Caribbean. But to check this out, we went to talk to Tim Burgess. He's the CO founder of an international workforce company called Shield Jimbo he's working internationally is not always so simple. There's there's a whole lot of compliance and I guess I. Sort of administrative issues that people don't think about in this context. Tim says, there are two main obstacles to international working from home. So first of all, if you're going for a long length of time like at least six months, you have to start thinking about taxes. If you're for example going to Mexico you might become tax resident in Mexico, your employment say hold on now where liable for having employees Mexico, and of course, this is not just income tax right? Example, Hanshin State health insurance. Yeah. All the different components of social security a few moved from the US. To Franz the employees accost goes from about fifteen percent on top of the salary to forty seven to fifty percent on top of the summer. So it's not as easy as just going to a we work in Paris. It's a very gray area. Barbados got around this particular snag. They said, you do not need to pay taxes in Barbados with this particular visa just keep paying your taxes and social security to home country but Tim. Raises a second issue, which is if you'll say working for an American company but want to work overseas the company you work for start to need to comply with your new countries, regulations and labor laws like say, maybe you'll be forced to take the minimum twenty four vacation days required by Jim. Laurie. If you relate to Berlin, which would be sad. Yeah. I mean that would be a struggle, but I would be up for tackling that. So Barbados, really turned this gray area into a very simple and clear invitation to remote worker. They saw this. And so Darian you know we started talking about this and we were wondering like, is this the wave of the future? I really hope and my hope is that people take it up. It would be a really wonderful initiative and a great model that people could follow and a lot of other countries have realize there is a huge opportunity here Estonia has launched its own visa. So has Bermuda and so Shaun the business intelligence analyst from Charlotte she's a tastes case company said, yes, and to visa was approved and the horses in hammocks wait exactly excited I I couldn't believe it. I was like Oh my God he's actually going to happen. I'm excited to Sean paid her two thousand dollars visa fee, and she now has her flights booked for just a couple of weeks from now what are you looking forward to most about? Barbados the food. The food tasting. Some new flavors there flying fish is like their. Go to national dish it's something called flying fish, which I have no idea

How to Go Braless

"But, then she found boob love in a hopeless place by the mid two thousand ten's. Riana was already becoming iconic for her bra fashion statements, so when photos of her nip slips started, popping up on shares tumbler feed. She titillated so I was like this is so cool that this. Singer, she's so punk that she's not wearing a bra. That is so pumped to me I'm going to do the same. And I was going to performing arts school at the time the Brit School. So that was a school where individualism was definitely appreciated and encouraged, so I didn't have that fear of what if I get laughed at because it was a performing arts school, so you'd expect to find all kinds of characters in an environment like that, and even though I mean I never came across anybody who will come to me and be like why not wearing a Bra? But it was something where I definitely used that time to build my confidence, because walking into a canteen, full of boys and girls who have their own opinions of viewing opinions of everyone else. It really will make you forcefully build character. If you choose to do something that's quite nonconformist like not wearing a bra. Yeah? I mean I can. Especially the the first few times you did that. Were you nervous at all? Like? How are you feeling? Are you just like visit me? And deal with it. I didn't think much of it. Because I saw I saw the almost like it was like an old to the ninety s like Jimbo. Those old pictures of Jennifer Aniston in the nineteen when she was filming the first few runs, a friends, and she's not wearing raw, and it's like those of images. What what I was looking at I, kind of curated my social feed in such a way. That I was seeing images of women who went wearing a Bra. If they're outfit so for me. It was like I'm not the first ever person to do this, so it's not like I'm doing something that's. So shock horror. The feeling of choosing to not abroad was fun because it felt like a fashion statement for me, and also it was like it almost made me feel like a little bit made me feel Elizabeth more sexy equivalent. Of wearing a push up bra? Ironically, it's like not wearing a bra and having your Nipples of showing for your outfit Lou bit. In a way for me, critics the same. Impact might be to create if I were to put on a push up Bra cleavage. It's still the same concept of the something on my chest. I know you WANNA. Look at.

"One of the important areas in which model interpret ability should have an impact. I guess somewhat argue the most important areas in healthcare after all. What good is some black box It's worth something if it's reliable but yeah better than a black box would be a transparent box and while that makes a great pool quote easier said than done. There's also an interesting aside here about interpreting. For whom patient or doctor and my concern is doctor because the last thing I want to patient self diagnosing and getting access to AI tools to essentially make the sort of inferences that you need a guided trained died. Make so in my mind. Successive applied machine learning and healthcare is really about helping the doctors the clinicians the radiologist the people that are operating the machines in interpreting the evidence in doing that sort of thing so surely there's some interesting work specifically on model interpret ability in the context of healthcare right off this week on the show. I speak with Jay theon garage about his recent paper. Calibrating healthcare AI. Towards reliable and interpreted deep. Predictive models. I am I'm a computer scientist at Lawrence livermore national labs and I will descend lights computing division. They're doing research much learning in occupations and I'd asked you on today most notably to discuss your recent paper calibrating healthcare a I told reliability and interpreted deep predictive models. This is right at the intersection of the things we like to get into here. It's interpret ability and M. L. I'm not an expert in healthcare and I know it does take some expertise. Can you tell me a little bit about your background? And how you've learned these two fields and whatever their overlap is so mind. Bagnall might be Watson Mustang. General ambition problems to I see a lot of headlines that Bragg for certain problems like maybe it's a radiologist and things like that that algorithms are now achieving these human level performance although when you look a little deeper maybe that's perhaps a stretch. What's your perspective on the current state of the art in Computer Vision? How close are we to that? Human level goal were all seemingly after. I think that's a philosophical question on some level if you actually talked to a doctor down definitely testing which is using human performance. Okay but if you deep down to go to the doctors and house them on both the costs that you really want to help you with many times down to this new the kind of problems back the actual doctors and people who are treating radiated difficult infections business they are looking for is solid really really challenging problems which often cutting the benchmarking statistics typically build the vision community. How COVID-19 is affecting your job

"So we'll talk a bit about where we are headed in regards to the economy with a few other aspects of all of this including frankly how this is affecting your job and we'll do that with the labor law attorney Joyce Smith who joins us this evening in the thank you for being on the program my pleasure thank you for having me absolutely of course a lot of people are learning things about their jobs that they may not have known before and they have perhaps a new relationship with their job if in fact they still have a job now you are a labor law attorney in general I'm curious your thoughts about how well the law and regulations were prepared for such an eventuality that's a great question I think the the rash of legislation we've seen come fast and furious it shows we weren't really ready but I do think that Congress has been quick to act we've had Lucia issuing all kinds of new guidance EOC issuing new pandemic guidance we've got Congress acting with you sick leave expansions to medical leave act so it wasn't there before but we're acting quickly to get their one eight six six five oh Jimbo is run over one eight six six five oh five four six two six clearly when you face a situation like this and will divide certainly reappears although it's a it's a much smaller divide on one side of the equation and that is do you have union protection or do you not have union protection to go back to I guess the mid fifties and close to thirty percent of the American labor force was in fact in the union of some sort today I guess that number is more like seven or eight percent and a huge percentage of that is in the public employment how is that affected the individual's ability to survive the situation sure you're you're absolutely right the unions have been on the decline which means there's not as much power for employees to band together and advocate right now and you know for example we see health care providers who have been exempted from these new laws for paid leave and for the families first corona virus actor exempted yeah there's not a group banded together and advocating for them so you I think it it is harder for the employee to step up with if they're worried about their working conditions right now and in terms of of let's say choices like furlough or fired or pay cuts and there have been people who have the face that choice granted if your only choice was your god this may sound like a pretty good choice but on the other hand if if this is what you facetime street caught a few people off guard and maybe they weren't sure quite what they should do sure you know for load I give a furlough is that you're coming back in the relationship hasn't stopped so that's good news to be sent to you hope you still have a job to come back to you know pay decreases you still have a job although I will say if you are one of the many many millions who are are facing layoffs right now many of the states have implemented expanded unemployment benefits loosened requirements for that has enhanced the amount of time and the amounts you can get so again we're seeing another area where the law has stepped up to try to make this easier for those who are losing their jobs right now your thoughts about both the idea and the execution of the idea regarding a flooding the economy with money both in terms of the just cash to people go forth and spread them and to try to keep other people's jobs going and also the money that's going to small businesses which by the way is about to run out that is is to to help the small businesses keep keep up paying people on a jury for thoughts about the idea about how well it's being carried out sure I think the idea is great I think it's much needed I think the way it's been carried out has created a lot of headache especially the paycheck protection program as you mentioned we're seeing those funds run out on that you know this is this went into gear so quickly that the regulations hadn't really been figured out we had banks you're putting all kinds of requirements on who would be prioritized and everybody knew the money was going to run out it was first come first serve so I think the intention is great I think whenever you're going to try to to disperse that much money quickly it's going to be hard to gear up I I hear stimulus checks are starting to hit people's bank accounts I think you know I think it's great I think all of its needed I think there are a lot of frustrated people especially with you know a lot of small businesses who aren't going to get funding under under it and don't know whether they're going to add money to the stimulus plan so I think they're a great idea yeah would be great to see them iron it out and and help

"A show one eight six six five oh Jimbo as we continue to look at the problem and watch it grow and do what our response can be we'll talk a bit about the stimulus package in a moment right now let's take a call for our guest it happened of the Niagara university with Mike in Ventura California good evening Mike good evening Jimbo fantastic show thank you I had a question about how those of us that are on our meager retirement or social security are going to be affected by the stimulus program so security you're still going to be able to get that twelve hundred dollar payment most of the social security and it's going to be well over seventy five thousand dollars so you would be entitled to that twelve hundred dollar payment people on disability are also entitled to the payment all righty well thank you very much that's all I have all right thank you appreciate your thoughts one eight six six five oh Jimbo one eight six six five oh five four six two six and this is Scott in Burlington Vermont good evening Scott good evening one night I absolutely love your show thank you note the issue I have is that you know I've worked my entire life from the time I was in high school worked my way through college by Hale paid all my college debt good really quite well I guess you know I'm retired now just getting really frustrated with having to pay for every body else's screw ups I heard the the mayor of New York or the governor of New York talking about how we need this we need that we need the and even the government is not the solution to everybody's problems no but it is a solution to some problems that is true but I think if you call in general need to take responsibility for themselves greed has a great principal and as soon as we can instill that and everybody's heads I think that's absolutely a a very valid point in the meantime Scott we're here now and I'm not sure it well I thoroughly agree with your sentiment I'm not sure the lecture on personal responsibility here and now is going to accomplish a lot I I I would totally agree with you Mr beau Hannon my point is is that I want to win D. O. O. this philosophy into the younger generation by the time the twenty six trillion dollars gets paid back that the federal government is soon going to I'll be long dead and it will be my great grandchildren they will have to do this but at some point beautiful meter harken back to the days of my grandparents homesteaded my great grandparents and really start to take responsibility for themselves and not I need a free cell phone or an extra roll of toilet paper when you buy an S. U. V. or something I I do I I thoroughly agree with your like our guests to respond but again I would simply point out that that some some things that we're talking about may involve a lack of personal responsibility but quite frankly of maybe we should have anticipated this professor Hutton but we did not anticipate that this kind of pandemic they do happen on occasion I'm not sure that we could have anticipated that massive need for things from ventilators to to toilet paper no and I don't think anybody had ever planned that basically having to shut down all of the basically all of the businesses in the United States for several weeks or several months we went to the financial crisis in two thousand eight two thousand nine one of the words you heard a lot was moral hazard people talked about well it was the banks at that point and the bank had screwed up the banks had they had spent a lot of money they had made a lot of bad investments and one of the things that people objected to very strenuously in two thousand eight in two thousand nine in those bailouts was that we were rewarding thanks for their bad behavior but at this point I don't think anybody thinks that it's anybody's fault here that this is really at E. health crisis that nobody Costa the the people that god laid off because there's none of the businesses that are shut down because this and so really good site my feeling is there's only one group that really cancer and that's the government and and I'm I'm glad that I'm glad they're stepping up to do this and by I I would I would have been much more afraid of before I saw what the federal reserve and the US government is proposing to do yeah again the other two circumstances were not entirely comparable let's face it the a crisis came about in large part because some brilliant people principally on the left I might add but there would be a really wonderful idea of people who were not qualified either by finances or by behavior I should have their own homes of the rest of it should simply subsidize what were clearly untenable risks in terms of extending loans and that was dumb from this from the get go and I don't know the city which people got punished but there were plenty who should have been in this particular case I get it's a little hard to put out blame for something that maybe in the future maybe the future road will will be of more likely to to stockpile some of these things here's Howard in the Dallas who calls and hello Howard are you gonna be listen the off and on since the eighties was too large well thank you very much in your in your garage I got a question for the gentleman I'm seventy I'm semi retired I've worked all my life never taken a hand out never would I care about but I'm just curious Emory this file my taxes every year and I still warm I might probably just saw with thirty thousand a year and this year I got a level public dollar tax return which the treasury department they always said make a direct deposit into bite out in my so security is a direct deposit into that same account so what I was wondering how much I would get I'm single I've already raised my kids are in college it's right and what would that the how much would it be would that still be by as a direct deposit and I felt rather than share good points both end before we give you answers as we're coming up on a break to doesn't move will pause and we'll come back with that answer so stay tuned all the Jimbo had a show back in a moment the internet has changed.

Food, Dubious Food

"In twenty eleven in Alabama law firm sued fast food chain Taco Bell for dishonest business practices claiming that Taco Bell's seasoned filling couldn't be called beef under USDA standards because they had it tested and it was only thirty five percent beef. The rest was oats and other fillers Taco bell pulled out all the stops to refute the allegation at a cost of more than three million dollars including parody of Saturday morning superhero cartoon show that they had already for reasons super delicious ingredients force fighting. Baron VAUGHN bland. My Name's Moxy. And this is your brain on facts. Researching conspiracy theories and urban legends. Always gets a little wild like. Did you know that people are die hard? Tim Hortons fans because the Canadian version of Dunkin donuts spikes their coffee with highly addictive nicotine. Of course they don't but that doesn't stop people from believing. It will be skipping over. Stories like the fingertip and Wendy's Chili. That was a failed extortion attempt or the mouse in the mountain dew which PepsiCo defended themselves against by proving that the mouse would have dissolved. Let's start with the biggest name and fast food. The Mac Daddy if you will. Mcdonald's easily holds the records for the most urban legends and conspiracy yarns spun around a restaurant. The topic has its own wikipedia. Page and these. Well predate the unduplicated experiment. That was Morgan. Spurlock super size me listeners. Of a certain demographic may remember the Jimbo. You deserve a break today reaching them about the same time as the rumor that McDonald's stretched their hamburger meat out with Nice. Cheap ground up worms. If you've been online for more than a few minutes. In the past decade he will have seen a picture of a factory machine extracting fat tube of Pink Mush or pink slime as the caption frames. It say hello to mechanically separated chicken. It's all fast food. Chicken is made from things like chicken. Nuggets patties also. The process frozen chicken in the stores is made from it. Basically the entire chicken is smashed and pressed recieve bones is guts. All it comes out looking like this and there's more because it's crawling with bacteria it'll be washed ammonia soaked in it actually then because it tastes gross. It'll be re flavored artificially then because it's weirdly pink it'll be died with artificial color but hey at least it tastes good right. There are little bits they are that are nearly true mechanically separated meat is a staple ingredient in ready made frozen and fast foods but it's made from meat cuts not whole carcasses while beef producers commonly treat meat products with small amounts of ammonium side as an anti microbial agent and assessing in a high volume facility meat and poultry processors. Don't soak the meat in ammonia. They treat it with the gas apart from the included items being wrong. There are a lot of things that are missing. Like the fact that McDonald's stopped using mechanically separated chicken in two thousand and three mechanically separated. Beef was banned in two thousand four due to concerns about Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Aka mad cow disease and the pink. Slime in the picture is probably what one beef industry magazine writer called. Ammonium treated lean beef trimmings not even chicken at all another glaring omission in the claim. There is nothing in the picture to identify that as a McDonald's facility. Mcdonald's went on the defensive showing how nuggets were actually made and that the mushed up chicken while not especially pleasing to the eye at no point looks like pink. Slime washed down those nuggets with a milkshake. Well there's no milk in that milkshake. There's no dairy of any kind. That's why the menu says shakes and not milkshakes. At least that's the rumor. What are they used instead to make it so creamy pureed cow eyeballs or maybe a little microscopic styrofoam balls for filler or lard or potatoes or seaweed or ground up feathers there are strict definitions food labelling and while. Mcdonald's shakes can't be labeled milkshakes in some areas because they don't contain straight up milk they do contain milk via the soft serve ice cream that's used to make them and they don't contain any of the other things save one. Their ice cream is made from milk. Sugar cream of Corn Syrup and various common preservatives and thinners McDonald's self-serve does contain one item from the Urban Legend List Seaweed specifically encourage Heenan. A safe natural common ingredient bonus. Fact if your food or drink is pink or red in color. Check The label for coaching. Neil a type of beetle whose ground up bodies have been used as a food color for centuries. I'm not suggesting to avoid it unless you're trying to keep kosher. I just think it's interesting. It's probably only listed as natural color. Anyway say you bought more food than you're able to eat in one sitting and you left the rest on the counter for a few weeks. Hey we all get busy. Thanks to all the artificial ingredients in manmade chemicals in boldface defiance of the natural order of things that McDonald's food won't rot. Lots of people have made videos showing the food remaining virtually unchanged after days and even weeks. This is a little bit true but mostly false in case any specify that and not for the reasons you think according to Dr Keith Warner Program Director at the University of Gulf's Department of Food Science and Quality Assurance essentially the microbes. That cause rotting are a lot like ourselves in that they need water nutrients warmth and timed grow. If we take one or more of those elements away then. Microbes cannot grow and spoil food in the example of the McDonald's hamburger. The patty loses water in the form of steam during cooking the BUN is made out of bread and toasting it reduces the amount of moisture this means that after preparation hamburger is fairly dry. When left out open in a room? There's further water loss as the humidity within most buildings is around forty percent so in the absence of moisture or high humidity. The Burger simply dries out rather than rots so no moisture no rot. It's the inverse of the reason. Why the bathroom is the only room in your house where you're locked in an eternal struggle with microbes like mold and mildew speaking of moisture. Who could use a tasty beverage right about now? How about a new COQ? Don't know what I'm talking about. That means one of two things. You're under the age of thirty or the most devious and ingenious marketing effort of all time succeeded or failed either way. The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Set would want you to know. That coke created new coq to cover the switch from sugar to corn Syrup to mask the removal of the last remaining coca derivatives or because people would hate it and demand more of what had been renamed co Classic. Take your pick. Pepsi had an effective ad campaign with the Pepsi. Challenge a blind taste test where lifelong coke fans found out they actually preferred the taste of Pepsi. Coke replicated the challenge in private and found the same thing. So in nineteen eighty-five they reformulated coke to be sweeter and put it out as new coq hip trendy with it and now including TV spots with the supposedly CGI. Max Headroom. You can hear more about in episode ninety six. Do not adjust your set. People hated new COQ. The heated the very idea of coping changed. There were letter writing campaigns thousands of calls a day and people. Hoarding original coke. Were boycotting the brand altogether independent bottlers even sued Coca Cola for lost revenue. It was all over the news all the late night talk shows. You couldn't buy that much publicity for. Could you? People began to speculate that. Coca-cola had launched new coq knowing that people would hate it that it would make people want to buy original coke and that everyone would be talking about it. They created it to fail. This isn't as far fetched a notion as you might think a decade or so later when Pepsi Launched Crystal Pepsi. Can you hear that Van Hagar Song Coke Launch? Crystal Tab? Tab was the first Diet Soda and even though Crystal Pepsi wasn't Diet People inflated the two and Crystal Pepsi went out faster than Jenkins and plastic choker necklaces as for the new coq debacle being a deliberate marketing ploy then company president. Donald Cove said some. Cynics will say that we planned the whole thing. The truth is we're not that dumb and we're not that Smart

Some early thoughts on Texas A&M's next season

"Talking Data Merton Berg Espn Senior Senior College football writer. Let's expand this a little bit on the SEC. Next year a lot of thoughts on on on the West. Lsu Shoe Obviously Alabama probably not going too far Who else do you see? Maybe making a run or do you see anyone making a run at least for the West I I again I think that you take 'em pay Jimbo Fisher. Seventy five million dollars guaranteed to do better than this. Now you've got two years To to get settled battled to to figure out the direction of the program. Now it's time to start competing they're gonNA have experienced. I think on both sides of the ball. They have some spots to fill defensively. I know you lost a couple of receivers to the NFL draft. But if it's not gonNA happen in your three. I think some doubts GonNa be setting in in college station that we we paid this guy all all this money to compete with the likes of certainly Alabama but also now LSU in Auburn when is when are we gonNA get a return on that investment. So I think there's GonNa be a lot of pressure sure on taxes and this is again a team that I think could make some noise on that side and then in the east. You're probably Georgia's Florida again and Georgia's fascinating fascinating because they have to close that gap offensively much like Lsu. "Jimbo talks we do something here and leave I think is important to do we take a look at the state of the broadcast media were a part of it and of course are consumers of that very same media and it's always a delight and a very informative session to speak with the CEO and president of the national association of broadcasters Gordon Smith who joins us again tonight I Gordan hello Jim good to hear your voice my friend and yes Sir good to have you aboard also will offer special thanks to your executive vice president Dennis Wharton who makes this whole thing possible through his coordination yes he does he's terrific he is a he is dynamite lots of stuff happening out there this one has been around for quite awhile and it doesn't seem to ever go away a media ownership and the courts what's at stake for radio and TV and the consumers of same well an awful lot Jim is you know because radio and then TV shortly after were the first to be licensed to in terms of airwaves lots of regulations followed and it up it was all based on the fact that really radio and TV were something of a monopoly in telecommunications and so the to make it fair they're all kinds of things that the government imposed on us but the world has changed dramatically since those days particular at the end up with the the internet and the superfluidity of sources of information of the society is drinking through social media from a fire hose it seems and the it's not just TV and radio competing against each other for for years and I balls it's is now social medias Facebook it's it's Twitter it's everybody trying to get an ad ad dollars and and of course one of the first victims of all of this flood of information is are the newspapers that are a failing very dramatically and and then of course journalism takes a hit and we're beginning to realize that when everybody's a journalist nobody's a journalist and broadcasting becomes all the more important that we not just survive but that we thrive and the courts don't seem yet to recognize the the New World a new landscape on which we have to operate it but quite frankly we're talking here about a circumstance now in which the old blocks between the newspaper and broadcast cross ownership really those those make no sense anymore in this modern era that there's no scarcity of anything out there in terms of the message no there there isn't and the course this is what's so frustrating with the the federal federal third circuit court of appeals the three judge panel there that has had a a choke hold on broadcasting now for several decades and the SEC tried to allow even something as seemingly uncontroversial is newspaper a radio TV cross ownership so that if you own a radio station you can own a newspaper in the same town or TV station and a newspaper but they've instruct that out saying that they want to make sure the broadcasters at all the diversity of America what we want that too but the truth of the matter is newspapers are failing all over the place because they can't get the economies of scale that would would flow to them if they were able to combine the news room with a radio and TV station for the you could do investigative journalism so you could do deeper dies in the local issues that people needed cal on but now there's no way to finance it anymore and so the courts the third circuit is had claimed jurisdiction over this issue and they won't let it go and that seems their intent to make more newspapers go away and broadcasters to remain small and therefore unable to compete with the Google's the facebooks twitters of the world is this going to the Supreme Court we hope so the FCC we believe is going to appeal this ruling to the Supreme Court but as you probably know Jim the of the the numbers of cases that are granted Sir sure ari to be heard about ten percent of those that even appealed so it it's a it's an uphill climb but we believe the FCC sees this is such an emergency that they're willing to go that extra mile and we've applaud them for that what's the status of digital AM radio and other efforts to upgrade the a a bad that I must ask because others are asking it is the effort worth it well I think so because there are more and more digital receivers and again I I want to tip my hat to the SEC they star rulemaking last month that could create a framework for AM stations to voluntarily convert to an all digital operation and I want to emphasize voluntarily nobody to be compelled to do that but if your listeners may wonder well why would they want to do that and the answer is simply that in this day this cry are crowded airwaves are so many nearby licensed air air waves that are used for things like Raj door openers fluorescent lights you know even baby monitors and all these kinds of things they create real interference in in in harm's sound quality on a a AM radio and so digital AM dramatically improves the reliability and sound quality for listeners send so many N. A. M. are looking at that as an option knives they're testing it out and I think the SEC's gonna per minute again it's permitted it's not required so I think it's a it's another option for four AM stations along those same lines the AM radio stations also now have a low power FM stations or or F. M. translators to improve their service to the community and I'm wondering if there are enough of those to go around and could possibly more be squeezed under the broadcast map with the directional FM signals yes there are enough of these available and I think those who have done it have found that worthwhile and successful but in your view or should your listeners should understand that that these FM translators they they help get rid of the interference and and improve sound quality so again it's it's another option or an AM station would have to simulcasting our programming on FM airwaves and I'm told that yes there are there are there are enough opportunities for them to continue to apply and they will be granted well that would be certainly a good thing I've always like in the the the squeezing of stations on to under the map of various frequency since most broadcast stations and Leslie are directional stations a am or FM they broadcast in the inner circle yeah if you think of it let's say you've got a a gallon bucket and let's say that the gallon bucket will hold I don't know a dozen tennis balls okay though it would be big signals but there's a lot of space in between those tennis balls right and if you stack those tennis balls appropriately you could get all does the men there there should be room for a whole lot of marbles as well smaller signals if you will that would fit in so and and if you went to directional signals of that as to say we're not a perfect circle but we're sort of pushed and pushed out of various places you could fit a whole bunch more signals and each one of those signals provided of course you did get into interfering with other signals each one of those signals would be serving another audience better than they are currently being served and of course the and the bees technology wing and we call a pilot they're testing these things out so to make sure that it's just as you're describing it very accurately these these channels are available to two AM and so that it doesn't have the same levels of interference and.

Is the GOP more united than ever because of the impeachment probe?

"This irregular channel of diplomacy. It's not as outlandish as it could be. Is that correct. It's not as outlander says it could be. I might be irregular but it certainly not outlandish. There's a phrase that pays. That was one argument. The Republican Council tried to make in that effort to defend the president from impeachment. You can judge its effectiveness for yourself with US tonight to talk about all things. Political veteran journalist Jason Johnson politics editor at the root and Rick Wilson Republican what can strategist soon to be following up on his first book. Everything trump touches dies with his new work running against the devil due out in early. Twenty Twenty Gentlemen. Welcome to you both Rick. The president said tonight Republicans have never been more united. Is that what you saw watching the hearing yesterday. Look I think what I saw watching here. Yesterday was Republicans who were in a state of of edgy panic and they were trying to talk faster and louder in hopes of trying to pass the fact that those two witnesses stood on the sat there and laid out a timeline a calendar additional facts additional witnesses. This is this was not a good day for those folks and no matter how many times Jimbo baggins gets up there and dances around like a crazy little leprechaun. It's not gonNA shake the the fact that the facts are against Donald Trump and the and the timeline is donald trump at the witnesses against donald trump. And this that was day one. They had a bad day on day want. I don't think it's going to get much better as we go forward. Jason the Democrats we with day one in the books we have learned. They can schedule witnesses and conduct question tonight. Yes when will you have confirmation that they evan deed found the right messaging that with all we have lived through with muller color. Four hundred plus pages. This is the story to tell this story. People can understand because at the heart of it is a phone. So this is we're gonNA find over the next couple of days if Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff are joe torry if they're good managers if they can set up the lineup properly with the witnesses and I think they did a good job. Look this first day you had two people who as you said. They set the time line. They were very clear. They weren't fuss flustered. They didn't allow Jim Jordan or anybody else to ask them any sort of strange questions that got them off the line And I think the Republicans they weren't unified didn't seem to have a coherent strategy other than do you follow all the conspiracy theories that we know about on read it so I think the Democrats effective very very good job. This is GonNa be a knockout punch situation. That's not what's going to happen. What they need to do is not screw up? Lay out the story because the American public already seems to be in favor of impeachment. They just don't WanNa blow that sort of enthusiasm but let me follow up on that. Do you think this hearsay line of argument is catching on and do you think it has has a time limit on. I don't think here's a works because you've got too many people talking about the same story right. It doesn't look everybody out there who's watching this. The people who are at home my grandmother grandparents everything else like that. They've watch law and order they different sweet hearsay in seems like a credible witness and these people come across as credible until someone blows up until someone someone has that Sam Watterson moment where they get angry on the stage. Everyone watching this right now is when they say well. These people seem credible. We've been hearing about the story. And so far. The Republicans haven't given there's an alternative story to think that this impeachment doesn't make sense and that's really the weakness I saw on Tuesday. Rick I have something for you. This is Nikki Haley tonight on CNN on the topic. Uh of Rudy Giuliani. Was it appropriate based on everything you experience in the world of diplomacy for Rudy Giuliani. The president's personal crystal lawyer someone who had no security clearances to be engaged in what's being described as the shadow diplomacy. I had during my time at the United. The nation's I never saw rudy engaged in that way it is best practice if you have a special envoy to handle certain areas and we do that all the time yeah I think they should've named him the special envoy so that everyone within the administration knew what his role was so instead of former mayor. Of New York's special l'envoi envoy Rudy. Giuliani Rick is that the rosiest possible. Reading of the situation Rudy is in question to what is going on. Do you think was Nikki Haley. I think Nikki's missing one of those profound rules in life. The rats are supposed to jump off of the sinking ship rather than on the a sinking ship. And so tonight. She gambled more credibility away by essentially essentially putting your arms around Rudy Giuliani. A guy who is already being dragged out behind the barn. Because they're done with him. The trump people are trying to cut in loose. The Republicans in Congress are going to try to blame this whole thing. Hang on Rudy when it comes down to it. That's their last-ditch scenario and so now she's basically praising Rudy at a moment where his stock has fallen so far with trump personally with with the trump world that it's only a matter of time before he was just a coffee boy volunteer. We barely knew him rudy. Who Jason Ivanovich tomorrow? Tomorrow give us a bit of a preview. We tried to point out the top of the broadcast. We recall ambassadors all the time. Rarely do they say they feel threatened in their personal lives. Rarely does one of the locals say to them. Watch your back when when she's saying I felt threatened. I don't even know why the president was talking about. I mean this is going to be the emotional punch. Got The story I. Now we're hearing people felt threatened. People feel concerned people in the country in the Ukraine. Were like we don't even know what's going on. What's it's dangerous here? And this is where Raju Liani and all these other individuals come into play. It doesn't matter if he was named special envoy. You don't put your ankle breaker on staff right soon. Everyone knew that trump had a lot of people operating in these sort of irregular channels and she speaks to how those irregular channels made regular long-term service. People feel uncomfortable. No and that's going to be the story that Americans take with them over the

Mueller: DOJ policy says we can't charge a president

"We are looking at the words of this past day by Robert Mueller the special prosecutor in the Russia probe. And he has, of course, in those comments made clear that in his view he could not charge the president because of department of Justice regulations that prevent a sitting president for being indicted, therefore, Muller, said those actions were not pursued the opinion says that the constitution requires a process other than the criminal Justice system to formally accuse a sitting president of wrongdoing. N beyond department policy. We were guided by principles of fairness. It would be unfair to potentially. It would be unfair to potentially accuse somebody of crime, when there can be no court resolution of the actual charge. And of course, that is being read as a sign that Muller is saying, I can't take action, but congress certainly can, and therefore, the obvious inference that they should let's talk some more about this tonight with your calls at one eight six six five O, JIMBO one eight six six five five four six two six and with breads Samuels reporter for the hill dot com, the definitive voice of what takes place on Capitol Hill of the nation's capital. Brett good evening. Good to have you aboard. Thanks for me on Jim. Absolutely. I it certainly does sound very much as though Muller is saying that congress should he didn't use those exact words. But it's it was thing to, to note that he would on to say that this was it that he should. His report and he held this public statement this past that's it. He says that he does not wish to testify on, on Capitol Hill. I'm wondering which. People are telling you that there will be subpoena issued for Muller, and that he will be told to show up or else. Yeah. You know, that's something that Democrats and specifically a couple of the committee chairman, Jerry, Nadler, and Adam Schiff in particular, you know, they'll have to kinda way moving forward. You know, whether it's worth it to subpoena, rather Muller, whether it's worth it. Eventually get into, you know, some kind of extended legal battle over that at the special counsel, really adamant that he doesn't wanna show up, but they also have to consider, you know, rather more said today that the report is his testimony, essentially, so he's made it pretty clear that even if he were to be called in front of lawmakers. I think he would be pretty careful to kind of stick to what is in his report. What's already out there publicly? So, you know, Democrats have to really way before they would go as far as the peanut, you know how much they would benefit or how much they would gain from from doing that with a special counsel. There is such an outcry among some Democrats on Capitol Hill for impeachment that you have to wonder if this should be taken this, the, the stated reluctance of speaker Pelosi to proceed. Of course. She's the speaker speakers have considerable power, you have to wonder if in fact, this goes beyond the issue of impeachment itself and goes to the issue of. The extent to which the speaker is in control of the democratic caucus. Do you foresee in the next year and a half or so a challenge to speaker Pelosi and her leadership position? I wouldn't go that far, you know, based on what we've seen two point, I think, to the other point, you know, the opposite point this is actually she seems commanded a lot of respect from even some of those who are skeptical Milton comes to mind, people who have praised are essentially for kind of job, she's done in sort of keeping the troops in order, you know, balancing, those who are really clamoring for impeachment, along with those who are gonna adamant that, that's not the route to go down some both kind of the Safar farther, left wing of the party, and the more centrist wing of the party DC's dose, far, you know, kept everyone relatively happy and in, in line. So, you know, we'll see if that changes, I guess, but so far, she seems to really say you what eight six six five O, JIMBO our number one eight six six five, oh, five four six two six the next year and a half proceed. It's going to be very interesting to see the extent. Which in fact, Democrats, either on Capitol Hill, or in the General Electric are dominated by their left wing, or by those who are more in the center of the, the party's thinking. Here's a call from Andy in Butler, Pennsylvania. You're on the Jim Bohannon show with Brett Samuels of the hill dot com. Hello, andy. Hello, Mr. Bohannon. How are you tonight? Thank you. I'll try thank you. I'll try to be quick. First of all, Mr. Molly said he didn't believe he could bring charges against the Justice Department's policy but not only did not bring charges. He didn't even recommend charges. Okay. And I get the feeling was somewhere along the idea was, it's not positition to bring charges against the setting president. And as far as I know that's not justices call to make supreme court call to make if you felt there should have been charges I think he should have bought them. Let the supreme court decide if it can go forward or not, that's their job. But moreover, we waited two years for this, and we got pulled by the Democrats whole time, we gotta wait for the mall report the mall report and the mall report come out what Mr. Muller said was high congress. This is your job to do funny. Democrats didn't know it was their job to do it. Two years ago, it took them two years to figure out what their job was. Anyway, it points that, that you do bring up Andy. I must say that other than than what has been department of Justice policy. I think that the Andy has a point bread Samuels in that the issue of what is or is not constitutional is up to the supreme court. It may be a view of the Justice department. The constitution requires a process other than criminal Justice to formally accuse sitting president of wrongdoing. But again, clearly if Mr. Ballard have felt distressingly enough about it. He could have since he obviously is not there at the Justice department for his career. That is to say did his job as special counsel and he's gone. Now, he just say policy be damned proceeded and let the supreme court sorted out that would have been an option. I would think yeah. I think we've seen some arguments made from people who. Have liked to seen him bring charges, you know, essentially point out that issue hasn't really been decided by the courts, you know, there hasn't been a case that has gone to the top over whether a sitting president can actually be charged. So I think there are some people who think, you know, these point that he should, you know, if he felt that the president, we're guilty in this matter. He should've brought charges and allowed that to play out in the courts from there. But then some people would have liked to see and do that. But obviously, he, he chose centrally follow the DOJ guideline. And that is his reasoning. One eight six six five O JIMBO, we have Vanessa who calls in from Vernon Connecticut. Hello vanessa. Hi, I'm worried about this situation. I remember when Obama classified the elections as critical infrastructure putting them under the potential control of the and control. I mean, it wasn't as though they were going to determine who won. I mean we. Let me explain. Could I finish? My statement. Yes, what happened is today, fuller is chess player, the noblest play chess. And this is another in which they cleared that our elections are under the attack by countries and the government will take them over the last election was conducted by the military Joseph Francis done for chairman of the joint. I have no idea. What you're talking about in terms of elections conducted by the military, but for Pete's sakes. Come on. That's not even worthy of comment. The elections in this country are not being run by the military or anything else, and the notion that our elections are critical infrastructure. They are and should there be additional protections to safeguard them. Yes, there certainly should be that doesn't mean anybody's being put in charge of anything in some kind of, of vast conspiracy.

I think that's the question that is top of mind for most parents, and it really gets down to can you trust another person to take care of your children and some would say having a nanny Cam that you don't trust people. And that's why you have to have it and I have been in both camps. I have been in homes where they believe in nanny cams, and and those that don't and I don't throw mad at either of those families. I I understand the reasons for both. But at the end of the day, it's it's not up to the nanny to decide that it's up to the family to decide what is going to bring them the peace of mind when they leave the home, and whether or not they can also corroborate the stories that they're hearing their nanny reporting at the end of day about what went on in the. Home. I've seen in a lot of cases nanny cams have actually been able to prove in favor of the nanny when something has gone on for example, little girl broke her arm. And it seemed like maybe there was some sort of abuse going on. But they went back on the nanny Cam. And they saw that it was truly an accident. And there was no negligence on the part of the nanny and without the nanny Cam. You mean that that probably wouldn't have happened that the parents probably would have been forced to maybe fire the nanny because they weren't actually able to prove what happened, and they would have had that that thing in their their stomach that that that hit that maybe something was going on that was wrong. What's the difference between a nanny a babysitter? It's funny because we live in a world today where I think the term nanny has been tarnished in a way because all we see be from Hollywood is all of these celebrities cheating with their nannies. And so nanny that word gets. Kind of a bad reputation. And when I use the term.

"Searcher? Okay. Well, let's get to Monday night. I read your predicting Alabama in a narrow victory. Some your colleagues are a little bit of dissension is what what is your take on talking to people is that the favourite is Alabama is that we're most people are. Yeah. It's the same six point five to seven point spread that they had the last time we played in the championship game. A ten degree think the thing to watch. Most is what happened in Oklahoma? How Simpson kind of weather this big I punch that Alabama rose in the first quarter. I mean that game was over with thirteen one left and second and how how do they adjust to that without extra Lawrence? I if I was selling this game though to the common fan, I would just say to and Trevor Lawrence or to future first round picks. I think they'll be back in this championship setting highs rates next year. I think they'll be first-round NFL picks. And I think the two of them are gonna put on the show against some pretty good defenses on Monday night. Now Bama will probably have the advantage in the end. Bill before you go. I do wanna get your take on on the overall bowl situation. Certainly a lot of debate. We talked about the Georgia situation the players not going anywhere with all the bowl games gone. But the championship. What's your final verdict on on the bowl system in college football, some people like to complain about it for the sake of complaining, but there's diehard like knew that will sit up when my wife goes to bed and watch the chief that bowl because I wanna see how it end, you know, some of us will watch thirty nine I think one thing that would help would be to cut the number down to twenty five twenty five to twenty get rid of six and sixteen. That's always a big complaint. Make players wanna play in these games. But you know, the tipping point will be when a player ops to sit out of a playoff game. I don't area where that would happen. But I wouldn't overrule it because you saw a couple of players this season pull out in the middle of the regular season when they were injured. Yeah. No about the way. If you expand the play out there. I think there should be a better chance of that happening than the way. We currently have it. We will see you out there. Bill. Always appreciate you coming on. Hey, I can't wait Paul. Thanks so much Fred mill and thank you bender from the sporting news, by the way, he picks Ella Bama to win by three under the number. In case, you're keeping track of such things. You're listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast.
