"Welcome back to the Jimbo Hannah show I'm John trout Brandon weicker writes regularly for the Washington times He is a geopolitical analyst who manages the report and his new book is called winning space how America remains a superpower More on the book in just a minute let's go to the phones Rama is in fairfax California Hello Hello can you hear me clearly Yes sir Go right ahead Okay All right I have a point to that that I've been thinking much about lately and I've been writing about it in the newspapers and I see the way I see the world changing is it used to be that we would think that we're helping ourselves the most by competing against other nations and trying to stay at least not behind but one up on the others And it seems to me that the world is becoming the type of place where it's now in our best interest not to think about competing so much but to think more in terms of working together with these other countries like Russia and China so that instead of working against each other we're all in the same page I think long term we're going to be everybody is going to be in better shape if we move in that direction All right Brandon can you speak to that Well I'm all for cooperation as long as it's not giving up the store The problem is when you're talking about a regime like China that routinely massacres its own people for petty political reasons basically we can't trust that regime They have a proven track record of being completely untrustworthy Russia to a degree as well So where we can cooperate Yeah but not at the expense of giving up our strategic advantages which we're hard won And certainly not at the price of giving up what bit of human liberty we've helped to preserve in the world especially if it's going to be empty promises very often we make deals with these regimes and they never look up to their words And we end up losing a lot Yeah let's go to Eureka California Hi you're on the Jim bohannon show Hello Thank you for taking my call I'd like to know if you have heard of a book I think it's called zero point the hunt for anti gravity and it's by Nick cook Brandon I've heard of it I've not read it It is a technology that sounds completely science fiction but we're really we are we are crossing into an era where what we would call exotic technology is becoming quite normal And so the question really becomes when will we get it and who will get there first And the great fear I have particularly with China if you look at their rapid high-tech R&D development of the last 15 years China's really catching up and in some cases specific cases starting to get ahead of the United States And that should scare everyone because all of that new science fiction type technology may be in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party as opposed to Uncle Sam And that should scare the bejesus out of everybody And they don't have a lot of agencies to go through to get things approved Let's go to Brady in Arizona and question for Brandon weikert You're on the Jim bohannon show Yeah I happen to grow up in Minnesota right on the Canadian border on the iron range amended soda and in 1983 I saw my first UFO but it actually was a U.S. I was submerged in one right in the Lake Came right out of the Lake and I can remember seeing the water glistening off the edge of the craft and it was orange and took off and it was done in a second Yeah did it look like was it looked like a flying saucer It looked like an orb This one was an orange orb and I've seen I've seen the ones that look like flying saucers and I've seen the ones that look like moving stars But I had several by the Lake that I was on and it was actually they had it on radar after airport that you were close to where I was living But we had about 20 people that time were shot where it came directly on the Lake sat there for a little bit rose up a little bit and went and what year what period of time was this what year What time frame 1983 83 Brandon you're familiar with anything like this No no I mean I've heard not his story in particular but I have heard of stories like things like that But again it could be something extraterrestrial but I'm really of the mind that we need to be Remember the stealth plane was first observed by people hanging around outside of Area 51 at least a decade before the U.S. Military revealed its existence At the time people were seeing this at Area 51 they were saying oh that's proof that the little green men are being housed at every one but what it turned out was Lockheed Martin and Boeing had developed very next generation technology that they were keeping a lid on to keep ahead of our enemies Clinton Obama Trump they've all asked about that Area 51 We are about out of time We've got to ask about the book winning space how America remains a superpower And this really doesn't have much to do with UFOs correct Not at all This is all about the formation of Space Force why we needed to do it It advocates for how we protect our satellites which are vital yet utterly vulnerable to Chinese and Russian attack how we protect ourselves from a Russian or Chinese or Iranian or North Korean nuclear attack by embracing Reagan Star Wars concept immediately and it advocates for what's known as space dominance has a strategy or basically we control the strategic high.

"At lam decker for dinner USDA approved Welcome back to the Jimbo Hannah showed one 8 6 6 5 O Jimbo one 8 6 6 5 O 5 four 6 two 6 And a Russian warship has gone down in the Black Sea The biggest cruiser in the Russian Black Sea fleet correspondent Clayton Neville reports that there are differing views as to why it sank The flagship of Russia's fleet on the Black Sea sunk after a fire on board This is a cruiser They only have three in this class It's a ship that is roughly 600 feet long It has a crew of almost 400 I'm sorry more than 400 almost 500 sailors on board And it's basically designed for air defense Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said it's believed the ship sank during a storm while being towed to a port We do assess that at least some of the crew members evacuated the ship and were placed aboard other Russian navy ships It's the same Russian worship that made headlines shortly after the war started when Ukraine's military used some salty language and refused to comply with Russia's orders The U.S. caused the ship sinking a big blow to Russia The Kremlin says detonated ammunition caused the fire but didn't confirm it was the Ukrainians that caused it Ukraine though adamant their forces hit the ship with a missile The Pentagon at this point unable to assess how the fire started We just don't have perfect visibility on exactly what happened We do believe that there was a significant explosion on this cruiser the Moscow Kirby said exactly how the ship's loss will impact Russia still isn't clear They're naval component here to the war has been fairly limited to two things One cruise missile strikes inside Ukraine and two replenishment and resupply of their efforts in the south They've only conducted one amphibious landing and that was on an uncontested stretch of beach near Bernstein the sea of his arm U.S. security adviser Jake Sullivan told the economic club of Washington that Russia had to choose between two stories Incompetence or that they were attacked he pointed out that neither looks good and the world again talking about Ukrainian resistance more than 50 days after the war broke out Some speculation that the U.S. may send a senior official to Kyiv as a sign of solidarity but State Department spokesman Ned price couldn't confirm those plans and insisted there's constant communication between the U.S. and Ukraine Are engagements has been consistent It's been routine It's been very deep to discuss precisely the issues that are of most important to us President Biden was asked by reporters if he plans to send anyone We're making that decision now As Russia repositions forces to the east there's no sign of Ukraine's military backing down And no indication the help from the rest of the world will let up either I'm Clayton Neville And we have a call from gill listening in Manila Philippines hello gill Hello Jimbo Yes I just saw a statement from the Russian navy and it said that losing that ship was all part of the plan It was designed to be a submarine Okay you win the prize for the night Okay Well I have enough quick foot for you Okay go right ahead Lay it on The craziest story of the day Did you hear about this the transgender in New Jersey This person identified as a woman but was a man New Jersey policy is to put prisoners into the prison for the sex which they identify These impregnated two of the great precedents that they know about I see a movie here I really am yes unfortunately so do I and it's too bad that it would be based on reality I mean what do people expect Well I was feeling my feminine side until just a moment ago and then I saw that prisoner over there and the Y chromosome topped right up along with other things So yes we live in very strange times guilt but thank you for sharing that That's pretty bizarre Oh my goodness one 8 6 6 5 O Jimbo on 866-505-4626 Oh a correspondent Tim McGuire tells us that millions of sellers on Amazon are being hit with yet another rate increase Amazon says it's adding a 5% fuel and inflation surcharge on its 2 million or so third party sellers Company says the additional charge will take effect on the 28th of this month Stacy Mitchell with the institute for self reliance on anti monopoly group says the ecommerce company is in charge of the market Amazon now controls access to such a huge share of the online market that any business really that makes our cells anything they have to go through Amazon Mitchell says the vendors pay Amazon $103 billion in fees of 5th of the company's revenue last year It's like a big toll booth for these businesses They have to pay whatever fees Amazon imposes on them The company is expected to release its earnings report from its first three months of this year on April 28th Same day that attacks on its fuel and inflation rates I'm Tim McGuire Oh yes and so the cycle goes And one more story that is of interest we pass this along to you John stones has the details of Florida becoming the latest state to pass a law restricting abortion Speaking to a crowd of pro life advocates and supporters Republican governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill that would ban abortions after 15 weeks This will represent the most significant protections for life that have been enacted in this state in a generation It rides a wave of laws in Republican controlled states restricting abortion ahead of what is expected to be a landmark decision coming by the Supreme Court this summer The bill today will provide protections for unborn children from abortion when the child reaches 15 weeks of gestational age Of course these are babies that have heartbeats and that can feel pain And can move as we said The new law takes effect July 1st and does make certain exceptions such as if the mother's life is in danger or to prevent serious injury if the baby has a fatal abnormality It does not contain a provision for cases of rape and incest Congressman Charlie Crist one of a number of Democrats challenging desantis in the race for governor this fall says he would never sign a bill like this into law Governor desantis.

"Back to the Jimbo Hannah chod one 8 6 6 5 O Jimbo one 8 6 6 5 O 5 four 6 two 6 and we're talking with Sean Walsh from the consulting firm Wilson Walsh George Ross consulting about the midterm elections which are coming up And the impact that that can have on the country And the mindset of Democrats to apparently well it almost done to me like Marie Antoinette you know let them let them eat cake Let them fill up their tanks with the $7 a gallon gasoline I mean it's remarkable The extent to which they not only are out of touch but don't seem to mind Spot on I mean in California it's devastating Look we're no joke We're a state where people drive their cars to work And so even though unemployment numbers are down and you've got some wages that are up it's all being eaten alive You can't even buy steak at a Costco now because it's too expensive So it is let them eat cake I will tell you another thing too Jim and you mark my words We saw a horrible horrible shooting incident in Sacramento last weekend And so the crazy crazy policies that have been instituted across this country to attack our police officers and to say that they're terrible people and they need to be prosecuted Well there have been some abuses and that needs to be dealt with But they've gone so far to the left They let people out of California We have a get out of jail free pass now for people and based on those policies to give people released early on their sentences and our liberal parole board a person who should have been in prison was let out and he was a gang member and he took a gun and shot up 6 killed 6 people and injured ten others in Sacramento And I think this country is going to look and see the crime rates that have happened in Baltimore and all across this country and say you know what We're letting criminals out of prison It's gone too far We need to put people back in here are going to protect our homes and protect our families So it's not just the economy It's quality of life in the cities and counties that we're living in across this country Here's the call from Marlin in San Francisco good evening Marlin Good evening Jim bob I understand what you're saying what's going on with California and I agree Now regarding to the inflation a little history here is like during The Great Depression is blamed for this depression by the public And also with Obama with the recession and also with reggae doing a high inflation and now we have President Biden with the inflation boost shortage and gas right increased So my question to you is the people still blame President Biden because it inflation and food shortages If so why It's happening on his watch for one thing I'll grant you that presidents don't determine prices Or the economy even the chair of the Federal Reserve it doesn't have that kind of power Of course if presidents control the economy they would never be such a thing as a recession So I understand what you're saying but it's happening on his watch and he has pursued policies which certainly haven't helped in it I mean massive excessive spending does not help curb inflation but I'll defer to Sean Walsh Well I will tell you that I do think there's a significant amount of blame Number one we paid people during COVID and coming out of COVID not to work which then put increased pressure on employers to raise wages and to raise those wages I think it was part of the Democrat effort to try and have a $15 national minimum wage They basically controlled or tried to control the labor market So the wages went up to people that are going to working in fast food and other restaurants But the prices went up and they were passed along So all of those increases in the pocketbook now have gone out the window and people are hurting even more with regards to energy policies California is an energy island We don't connect to the rest of the country We get most of our energy from imports from around the world even though we have a very robust domestic supply in California Democrat policies have been in such that we try and do greenhouse gas emissions and put pressure on that and before the country is ready to be electrified in their cars And so now you see a crisis at the pump You see pipelines that are shut down So where we.

"7 20 Welcome back to the Jimbo Hannah show at one 8 6 6 5 O Jimbo one 8 6 6 5 O 5 four 6 two 6 with Cato institute senior fellow Doug bandau we're talking about the long-term potential consequences of what's happening in Ukraine And before we get the call from pat here in northern Michigan just hang on but I wanted to ask you about the sanctions that we have applied today to include your thoughts about the sanctions on the international banking system or Russians participation in that the swift system and about sanctions aimed at Putin and his oligarch pals Well it's certainly given the size of that economy compared to other countries We've sanctioned We've put some major stuff on I mean this is particularly they can't get access about half of their Central Bank reserves Stationed in western banking systems where the western central banks won't let them get at it The swift system there are ways of kind of getting around but it's certainly inconveniences them it's going after a lot of strategic materials targeting for example imports by them of chips And now they're going after the oil and energy exports That's their main kind of source of foreign revenue So it's been quite substantial I mean it's going to have a major impact on them though I don't think it will cause them to quit the war It's going to certainly weaken the state and weaken the economy I don't think anything we're doing is going to cause Putin to back off of obtaining control of Ukraine not as I have observed that I think he wants to fix potholes and Kyiv But he just wants a subservient leader to do precisely what the Kremlin tells him to do But in that regard your thoughts about just how much of Ukraine does Putin want Again I just don't believe he wants another Soviet Socialist republic as such I think he was pretty much the arrangement with Belarus doesn't he You run your country and we'll tell you what to do in terms of foreign policy I think that's right That is what he has presumption was And this is why I think he really blew it The irony is that over the last decade is that Putin has created Ukrainian nationhood I mean the country was quite divided between kind of Russian speakers in the east and more independence minded western oriented in the west And Putin and what he's done to Ukraine has basically bought them all together So his vision and I think it was a vision I think they went in light They thought that they could just kind of show up in Kyiv So zelensky would flee the government would fold they could bring in their person And the problem is that even if they win the war I mean I have trouble seeing how they can conquer all of Ukraine at this stage that they can take a part of it I don't see I think getting the whole thing is just probably beyond them But they would still have to have an occupation to sustain any puppet leader because you can install somebody if you bring your troops home they'll be overthrown the next day So they're at a very bad spot But I think that was what he thought he was going to get So he never expected to have to go in as heavy He didn't expect the losses he got He thought it'd be quick It'd be before sanctions were effective I mean all of these things he completely misjudged Pat in northern Michigan hello pad Jimbo I wish to bring up something from antiquity that I have heard anybody talk about during this whole thing through what you were the original name for the Russians were an expelled earldom from Scandinavia Finland the Viking culture probably I don't know 13 15 1800 years ago there's in the Viking language there are called Chicago Moors when they were expelled from the community If you hold the forest and nobody wanted to live where they do why would you want to leave the fjords in Norway to live in well I don't know I mean you know a few things have changed since that time like the tsars came and went and the communist revolution came and went Does that have any relevance to today pad Yeah I'm just saying there is a dance drill pee on us They have had a professional Well I realized there are some long memories in Europe I'm not sure if anybody's memory is quite that long but certainly certainly long enough to encompass the greater part of the 20th century I would imagine If you want to add anything Doug feel free I think you've got it right I think that that is a very long time period The history matters here the connection between Ukraine and Russia I mean indeed you can argue Ukraine actually in key predated Russia but I think that's probably reaching back a little far to suggest that plays a role today All right more calls than our guest Doug bandau again back in the moment Dell.

"Welcome back to the Jimbo Hannah show at one 8 6 6 5 O Jimbo late 6 6 5 O 5 four 6 two 6 back to the calls to talk about shortages in Russia reminds me of an old story that was told back in the days of the Soviet Union In the Soviet Union the previous incarnation of the Russian nation there was a ten year wait to buy a new car And you had to go through all this paperwork and then you had to pay up front So the story goes this one Russian customer was talking to the bureaucrat and had filled out all the paperwork in the bureaucrats said okay your car will be ready for you in ten years And the Russian customer said the morning or the afternoon and the Russian bureaucrats said well it's ten years from now What difference does it make And the Russian customer said well the plumber is coming in the morning Let's go to Kevin and Panama City Florida good evening I'm fine Thank you So I'm going to make service member and thank you for your service Thank you Thank you for your support We remember shooting it the commie targets painted as comedies out on the shooting range for many years So you know they need to bring the old service members back Well acquired to shoot at those guys but let me have you heard have you seen the videos of the captured Russians soldiers that are saying that they were tricked by their own military If they thought it was a practice operation and they were loaded up in the vehicles they don't have been they've been called some reservist duty down on them in there for a week floated them up in the next thing they knew they would drove across the border and dumped out and they're all crying and not very much Russian power like soldiers Crying in front of their little interrogators there It seems I'm sure Vlad the invader must be very proud I had not seen that particular video no but Well and have you ever seen the comparison between the military U.S. what Russia has and what we have The only thing that got generally seems like possibly by the numbers because of the reserves stuff I mean we have a few more numbers but we have different types of our military But if they're this paper Tiger people have been afraid of for so long I mean I'll put it this way They do have they do have a lot of nukes if it came to that and they do have a lot of missiles And the like but clearly their ground units are not the scourge of Europe that some had thought them to be I mean Putin obviously didn't send them in there to be embarrassed and apparently that has happened in a few cases Kevin So I'm sure the NATO is certainly taking a long look at what's happening here and this is not something that Vladimir Putin wanted to happen Danny in the Helen Georgia I believe we have him back Hello Jimbo Hi I hope you can follow with me on this Yeah I was way out of topic earlier so Well I mean what were you talking about Well tomorrow morning I will start my final year of work at 5 o'clock in the morning with Jamar which is our first day of the season of a whitewater rafting season Very close to you I will turn when she said downtown a while ago I thought well I will turn downtown Westminster South Carolina and go up the mountain the hour will be at work Will you say you say work I mean and then you mentioned whitewater rafting Do you do something that has to do with whitewater rafting like lead lead convoys or teach it or what exactly do you do A little bit involved with in so many ways of that area of the river but yes mostly on the trip leader on that river It's one of the whitewater rivers in the world Well very good And it's a stone's throw from you Well whatever I'm curious Danny I'll let you get in the company plug What's the name of the company in case somebody out there wants to go whitewater rafting in northern Georgia Oh fantastic Wild water Wild water All right wild water If you want to have Danny take you out of the whitewater rafting All right thank you for listening sir Jeremiah in Clarksville Tennessee now good evening Good evening Thank you for taking my call I really appreciate what you do Thank you My reason for calling is twofold What's going on in Ukraine right now is being very closely heartfelt watched by the surviving members of the Hungarian revolution of 1956 Was one of the Hungarians I have a good friend of mine who was a child who and his parents got him out You better believe they're watching this closely One of my brothers Joe was 6 at the time He was brought out with my mother and father that come to the other side of the Christmas Eve of 56 Maldis brother and sister were left behind I've never met him However what the Russians did to the Hungarians in 56 and kept him under communist rule until 1989 when they finally gave the Hungarian crown back to Hungary and then officially left to 92 was brutal because they killed about 15,000 college students who held them at bay was a rocks and molotov cocktails until finally the Russians opened fire on them And I'm a military vet on first generation American took a bullet to the head 17 years ago lost both minds and the frontal lobe of my brain I love America I love America I love everything It stands for I'm proud to be an American I just wish there was more that we could do not only to observation but by remembering history and trying to find a way before a loss I was a trapper and I learned how to deal with rabid coyotes And that's basically what Putin is He's a rabid coyote Well I wouldn't argue the point at all Jeremiah I commend you for your service and I commend you for your courage and I'm sorry for your loss I really am deeply sorry I feel bad for those folks in Ukraine And I just want to thank you and every other American in this country that served in the military and keep your heads up and just duck when you hear the firefly There you go I know what you mean sir I know what you mean Thank you very much to everybody Here is here is Paul and zanesville Ohio good evening Ladies and Jimbo and sir thank you for your service and to the YouTube caller the disc called But I like to go back to a little back to John there They called about the cpac because I watched the whole thing And yes he did say that And Trump does spout off We all know that But I think he was talking about Biden Well sure he was but I mean again he did seem to condemn all American.

8 6 6 5 O Jimbo one 8 6 6 5 O 5 four 6 two 6 and here's a call from Ben in hazelton Iowa good evening I just wanted to offer officer Davis opportunity to work in Iowa if he wants to My department is hiring out here If you like to work with commercial motor vehicles wow that's extremely generous That's awesome I love to hear stuff like that We're in Iowa You guys Where is hazelton Ben Eagleton and Iowa is up in the northeast corner but we're a state agency motor vehicle enforcement We deal with truck drivers basically You sound like you're not far from the quad cities I'm about two hours from the quad cities where I live Oh okay Okay Very good Yeah go ahead We got probably ten positions open If he wants to come over it's probably less paid than California but the cost of living is probably one quarter also That is a factor I'm not sure what the cost of living is in La Mesa that I've got a feeling It's a lot higher than it is in Iowa The constellation in anywhere in California is pretty high So yeah I imagine Yeah Okay anyway the nice offer Ben and he is aware of your call And your interest Justin in Manchester New Hampshire good evening Good evening Jim Thank you for taking my call Mister dagus thank you so much for coming on Jim sherrill and telling your story and sharing that with all of us I wanted to say how sorry for what happened to you and your family You should have never gone through that and from what I've heard so far sounds like you shouldn't ever want to trial in the first place Yes I mean please the police has a whole in our entire country I mean we've seen it ever since ever since the death of George Floyd I mean the police have been crucified and it's now worse than ever It's terrible I mean the police need all this far they can get right now You said that your address was made public and there were protesters in front of your home Have you brought any lawsuits to court or do you plan on following any lawsuits to hold those accountable Yes so that's something that I know my legal team we've been looking into I know personally we were so focused on dividing the criminal trial and that took over our lives But I know that once the dust settles for us we're going to be looking to hold everyone accountable for what's happened especially to my family Because that was something that I had no clue over that our information was now knowing what doxxing is and spreading someone's information or their address or families address and phone number and that's something that I think all police officers need to be aware of All people need to be aware of that your info is online Your Internet is out there All right Justin thank you sir bob in Atlanta now Hello bob Matthew you're very articulate and I hope you prevail A huge issue that surrounds these type of matters is when the system the criminal justice system the DA's police chiefs themselves will fill their officers under the bus and what's happened is officers are sitting back becoming passive They don't want to get involved They don't want to get in trouble They don't want to be loose on television a thousand times And I know with absolute certainty that police officers have put it in neutral and we have this huge crime wave as a result of it in my opinion Well I'm not sure that the quote every police officer in the country has quote put it in neutral a quote unquote In fact I mean unless circumstances they've been ordered to essentially buy their superiors Thoughts on that Matthew I mean you know I think it's obviously that's painting with a broad with a broad brush right But I know that every police department across the country is hurting Right now morale wise I know for a fact that myself and other police officers that have been painted as villains in by the media and by the public it definitely makes other police officers think twice before they do something before they do their job to be honest because for what I went through I was doing my job I was bound to be doing my job correctly and within the law and I was still painted as a villain taken everything was taken from me my career my house my family everything So I do agree to a certain extent that police officers are living in fear of that happening to them All right one 8 6 6 5 O Jimbo one 8 6 6 5 O 5 four 6 two 6 here it's Terry in Callaway Nebraska hello Oh Excuse my voice I've had something but I was up taking my medicine and I thought I have listened to this man for years and now this is something that I really care about Thank you Matthew We are backed by art Governor and our law enforcement and I am just so grateful I live in a state that where they stand up for the police and I'm just so sorry just happened to you and I see it happening all of the United States and it really just breaks my heart All these deaths of the law enforcement breaks my heart and so I.

"Welcome back to Jimbo Hannah showed one 8 6 6 5 O Jimbo one 8 6 6 final 5 four 6 two 6 and as we speak live which is at ten 45 Eastern Time on Tuesday night So far no word of any Russian invasion of Ukraine so the reports about a Wednesday attack are becoming less and less likely We have a call from Steve in San Jose California good evening Good evening Thanks for taking my call Say I heard that there was an agreement and I think that you verified it between Russia and China between Putin and zing or whatever his name is She would go ahead He would have his back Now if that is true Putin wants the biggest prize of all Ukraine Wants the biggest prize of all Taiwan If I was I would tell Putin if Biden makes any fuss I will expose Biden financially and America can buy their pharmaceuticals elsewhere And that would definitely kill a lot of people by the time that we get into production Well of course this thing that the Chinese could do to us would be to stop buying our T bills so we lived within our means that would be a favor for us And in terms of us not being dependent on the Chinese for anything that would be another favor to us to get us off our Duff about saving a few pennies for some jerks quarterly dividend and start acting like China is what it is which is not an economic partner but a predator But to what extent Frank addressing Steve's question to what extent does or did she tell Putin that we China have your back I would think certainly after the Olympics I could easily have seen joint timing You go for Ukraine we'll go for Taiwan The U.S. can't respond to both Your thoughts I think it's asserted to Jim There will be such a joint attack Well it's a little unclear But my guess is that whoever goes first will have the other following suit and tragically I fear so will the Iranians Go ahead Israel or perhaps their gulf neighbors The North Koreans may have a go at the south again or perhaps others in the neighborhood And another thing that is a particularly worrying to me having studied what the Chinese have put into place in recent years in the way of the so called belt and road initiative which amounts to a colonial infrastructure and empire from which it's possible at least to make mischief shall we say pretty much all over the world should they choose to do so and in some places to actually project Chinese power very directly Oh China has been actively engaged in turning the world into a colony to the extent possible it can I have before called sub Saharan Africa a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chinese Communist Party that may be an overstatement Sadly it's an overstatement and north of Sarah is becoming more and more so as well The point being Jim that we could very easily see irrespective of whether it's Putin who's in the lead or not The events that I've just described metastasizing into a global conflict that will have the United States very much back on its heels if not actually submitting This is what is so worrying about the present moment and the perception on the part not just of Vladimir Putin but others That the United States is weak or irresolute or at a minimum during poorly led and this is a moment for them to strike We'll be back with more with Frank gaffney more calls in just a moment This view was worth a hike Right And it's a good way to stay.

"Welcome back to Jimbo Hannah showed one 8 6 6 5 O Jimbo When 8 6 6 5 O 5 four 6 two 6 Where are all the restaurant workers And a few other categories as well although it may be more pronounced in the restaurant biz Carl Gould our guests from 7 stage advisers dot com Here's Victor in Mount Pleasant South Carolina Hi Are you there Victor Victor dropped all right Daryl and Galloway New Jersey Hello Darrell All right very good All right stick around folks we'll get to your calls One 8 6 6 5 O Jimbo when 8 6 6 5 O 5 four 6 two 6 What are you hearing Karl as to whether or not this is a problem especially of the restaurant industry or other industries as well facing this problem Yeah I think we're going to see similar dynamics in what you would call the social industries Where we gather in mass gatherings like events like concerts festivals fares movie theaters The types of businesses businesses and industries where we put a lot of people in the same place Hotels those sorts of things Those workers have been displaced over a year ago And to be fair to them they had to find other they had to find other means And there's also another dynamic here Jim and let's say that they found work Or let's just say the restaurant was somehow or the amusement park was somehow able to hang on to that worker and gave them work to do at home Well they have a whole bunch of home issues to deal with now right They have pet needs They have they might have a child That's learning from home at school And now we're asking that person to we're asking that worker to lead home and they still have these issues at home that need to be dealt with And so going and going back to work means they've got a whole host of other issues to deal with So there's a number of dynamics here that are working against the employer bringing that employee back I wonder if some of these things like for example movie theaters I think with all of the downloading and streaming and the like that they were days may have been numbered anyway I'm not so sure that the pandemic killed movie theaters as much as it may have simply sped up the process of killing movie theaters your thoughts Yeah you know I've been to the movies twice since they've reopened The first time I went we were the only four people in the theater a couple hundred seat theater I went through the movies last week and there could not have been 20 people in there So this is an industry that might be on life support And you're right the experience of streaming at home where you can be comfortable the sound and the video is just as good There are no idiots that are talking through the entire thing Right Not a lot of distractions And you can get up anytime you want You could pause the movie You don't have to miss anything if you need to run to the bathroom I have a feeling that movie theaters I think you're right on here They're going to have to reinvent themselves and the experience what was always a great movie experience can now be replicated very easily So they're going to have to reinvent what that wow experience is all about by going to the movie theater I think you're right they're going to they're going to be under distress for a while Other areas that you think may be permanently changed by all of this I do think I do think the retail experience the retail experience was very much on life support before COVID and COVID just ripped the bandage on that industry And I take retail and I put them in two distinct categories gym There's the standardized shopping like the commodity stuff You already know what it is like going food shopping or going to the hardware store to pick up a wrench The things you know already know what you want you know what they do and you don't need guidance to get them There's a standardized shopping and then there's a customized shopping You know where you need to go into a place to get measured for a suit or some guidance on what fertilizer to pick out for your lawn The commoditized very standardized shopping I think is going away going away fast and may never come back The customized shopping the boutique that consultative shopping experience I think that we're coming up on a break here that doesn't move so we'll come back and we'll explore that further take more calls for our guest in just a moment There's a lot of screaming division partisanship Is it more affirmation than information What we're trying to do.

The White House has been playing down reports it is trying to discredit Foulke, who has higher public approval numbers than the president. Has. I'm Terry Mawr in Washington. It's now 22 till masks are becoming mandatory, more and more in public, but do some masks work better than others. You're Stephan Kaufman with the results of a new study. It's intuitive and scientifically shown that wearing a face covering can help reduce the spread of the Corona virus. But not all masks are created equal, according to University of Arizona researcher Amanda Wilson. We looked at more traditional masks like and 99 95 surgical masks, and then we looked at non traditional materials for homemade masks. Wilson says her study determined that traditional masks are the best, but there are some very effective Homemade options. Two of the top non traditional materials that are model pointed out where vacuum cleaner bags and teach owls. The worst mask in terms of reducing infection. Risk was a scarf material. If you're going home, maybe sure encounter threads. Thread count is really important. So the higher the thread count, the better that filtration efficacy is likely going to be and one key finding to keep in mind how much good your infection risk could be reduced if you were this mask for 36 Seconds versus 20 minutes. Infection risk can be reduced by quite a bit for 30 seconds. But the longer you spend in that environment, the less of an infection risk reduction. You get her final advice. Masks aren't a green light for going wherever you want. Whenever you want for however long you want Stephan Kaufman, Prescott, Arizona on the economic impact of Corona virus at 20 till here's Jimbo Hannah. The pandemic just won't go away. And of course, the economic consequences aren't going away, either. Let's talk about that with a professor of economics at Niagara University 10 Power Lee, who joins us And we're hearing a great deal about these. I say a V shaped recovery that is, we went down really fast, and we'll shoot right back up really fast, because structurally the economy is basically sound. One of the odds. You think that will, in fact, have a what they call a V shaped quick recovery well like three miles ago, three months ago, we talk about the V ship. The possible declined quickly and recover quickly That's called over the ship. And they are short turn concept, and then we talk about the recession. Recession is also short term contruction off the GDP data to quarters. That's a six months. Right now. The pandemic is already have, like four months. So we are still within the short term concept was still, uh, possibility we can recover. Maybe again to recover. Maybe the end ofthe day, August or September, so we don't have to await the arrival of the vaccine, in other words, to start recovering. Right. But when people begin to go backto work, that's the beginning of the recovery. So when we were open the economy in June and early July, we already begin to recover. For example, the impolite In any pro. It's like a 14% and then dropped to 13%. But I know the latest 1 11% home already beginning to drop its because people already beginning TTO go back to work. So that will be considered recover over the situations. I know, uh, the number of people being affected. Ah, continue to go up so some of the states will Uh, go backto shot down the economy again. That's still people think. Okay, that may be considered a W because you go back and then you drop again. However, to steal ashore Turn concert, So I think that's just fluctuation. So it's not a W It's still in the domain the definition off the ship. Now then tell me about What changes that have come about the new normal that will become the permanent normal, for example, I understand that more than a few people. In fact, their boss is also rather like the notion of remote working even if many of the employees didn't like it to begin with. So is that going to be a more permanent part of the work landscape working from home? Yes, that would be a part of the permanent change that is more people will be working at home and there are a result of the repo effect will be significant. For example, you'll mention the people look at a home. People will not strike toe work. On the other hand, if you don't have to work, then the demand for a new car or your car. We'll also declined. And then the consumption of cats were also declined so more people work at home will have a significant impact. On the economy on the way people do in pieces that some of the more people stay at home to learn to take a college education. That will change. Ah, good life and then the behavior. Are there lessons that we should learn from this economic? That is to say what's were out of this pandemic and the economic consequences are their economic lessons. We should learn down the road. Next time this happens and there'll probably be a next time. This is what we ought to do..
