"Was there in vietnam and ryan. Who was a lot younger than i was. Also there and the longest war american history which we just lost one more thing you do not may not realize afghanistan is more than afghanistan. It symbolizes who controls a world. And is you know. China just joined forces with those guys in afghanistan. So i hate to say this an amine to sound unpatriotic but at the end of the american empire. That's what it symbolizes to me. Because as marines in vietnam. We're doing our best to stop them. You know in the far east but we didn't do it. We lost vietnam so with that. I'm greg glad ryan friend of mine personal friend. He is eleven combat deployments. And now he's been promoted to another division. Does like my friend. Jim raw gems records was promoted to another division and so rise going to share what he knows about. What's really going on in afghanistan so ryan semper fi. Welcome to the program. Simplify robert kim. Thanks for having me. I appreciate it. Thank you Just wanted to clarify Done eleven combat tours to those residents in true marine One to iraqi. No sex and then down in helmand afghanistan eleven all. The tourists were indefens- I've done five or six to afghanistan through cobble and mazar sri up north A good understanding of the afghan people worked with them at many levels from the tree soldier all the way up to senior defense leaders on various parts of the country. What's concerning to me most about what's going on. We all expected that this war was going to end and it was going to be a little ugly on the way out But how poorly that's gone. And how far. They missed the mark on what was going to happen. It was very clear when the taliban started their offensive. One with the timing. How close they did it to our withdrawal date because we gave them a date manner in which they did and moving across the north. Which if you know anything about the history afghanistan the northern sections have been the most anti-taliban sections even since before we went in. They focused their offensive up north because they knew they would take the cells with no problem and if they could break the back of the resistance quickly then there wouldn't be much take left in the country so they moved across the north surround mazar schrief which is a major city and then started pushing from other areas in the country taking rot and then pushing in the south which has been their stronghold kandahar helmand province on the fact that they took kabul in one day does not surprise me. I expected some sort of fight out of the afghan military Four cobble. But i only expect that to last a day or two before. They gave up the fact that the president left the country. I understand why nobody was fighting after the president got in helicopter and left the country. I hate to ryan it's like deja vu all over again but you and i we're talking earlier i mean we've been friends for years. We we're hunting together in europe but You talked about the ghost. Battalions of the afghan army explained that. Yes it's a. it's almost an open secret. So afghan generals for years have inflated their numbers because we pay them by the individual in their italian company division. Whatever they had. So let's say they're supposed to have twenty thousand soldiers but they only have ten thousand they're going to collect the money from us for twenty thousand and they're gonna keep that are going to bribe their senior leaders with that money for those ghosts. Soldiers went on paper. He said things in the news at says well. The afghan military outnumber to taliban to one. I don't believe that for a second. Yeah so ryan you know. The the narrative here was. Oh it'll be. It won't be so bad because these afghan troops are well trained and they're gonna fight back and all of this and obviously that did not happen. So what what was the. What was the reality of the of the afghan troops. It was the reality of where we were where we stood when they started pulling out so the reality of the afghan military is at wasn't it almost wasn't a program to build a military of jobs program. It was a way for the us government to help. Afghan government give jobs to afghans. So you weren't getting military type people. You weren't getting the cream of the crop. Even their afghan special forces. They were decent. But that's you know an average third world infantry battalion nowhere near any sort of special forces capability and as how money was spread out to the afghan people to prop up. The government was through the military You can read the reports there several oig agencies that operate in the area and put out reports about the millions. They spend on women and trying to get women into the government in the military and they did audit and found out that one percent of the resources put towards winning was actually being used by women. What's what was g the definite office of inspector general. So you have it your internal affairs dod has it. Every branch of the military has all various types of. They think there is a special. Oh i g for afghanistan. They published reports all. These reports are available online. And you can read about where all the money was wasted and the recommendations and nobody ever thought nobody's been on the ground work with the afghan troops really thought they were gonna fight The last time that i was in combat with them was back in two thousand eleven and two thousand eleven down in helmand province and we would go wild we get into firefights at italians. very good. They know how to fight. They engage us from as far as possible. Their weapon system. They draw the fight out. We didn't really have air support there at the time so they knew that we'd be hours. Long firefights the afghan guys would mostly. Just sit in the ditch. When even shoot back with shit sitting behind us as we would maneuver they maneuver up with us but they were no part of the fight and nobody expected them to be part of the fight. And that's when we had. I don't know the exact numbers but we were still pretty high in two thousand eleven of us troops in the country so anything thereafter that is twenty twelve withdraw down the ability to train. The afghan forces was diminished. Because you didn't have us personnel there to train them. And you said you know. When we're we're in italy together you said something like basically lot of the afghan troops could even get a job at mcdonalds there. Your data huge rampant drug problem opium is widely available in afghanistan. Obviously so these are your your lower tier people that had no other options that took a government job because they got paid in the do much and you can see that and the fighting even before we withdrew any major taliban attack the the afghan military would typically flee their posts Bringing more troops typically what they called their special forces to come back in ticket district centre. Take a police station and then put those guys back in place but those guys were never their fight. They never wanted to fight. I want you guys doodle while while it's still fresh and everybody's minds you become a look at some of the footage from afghanistan. You'll see it in. The is the app. The taliban in there is want to fight. You can see it. I mean i would be terrified of those guys but you look at the afghan guys. All they wanna do is go to mcdonalds and run. I mean i is so sad. What america does when we try to buy. Patriotism try to buy loyalty and somebody accused Bush president bush of it they were trying to nation build but few people forget the history of the taliban are a derivative of the mutual hygiene. Who kicked the russians out of their country. I think it's called the parrots. Be or something like that. The people that control that parlow world control.

I'm not sure what's going on, but smarter people than me are working on it. They are. Yeah, I'm doing my best and I've passed it along. I wasn't referring to you. He was not passed it along to people that know a lot more about what they're doing that I do. But I I am have become the person that people are going to you to complain, and that's okay. Okay. It's not a conspiracy to get us off the air, at least as far as we're also, um, we've got plenty of space. There's nobody here. Come on down through. Come on. Come on. Join our live studio audience. I'm gonna lock my doors. Just just come on, Just come on down s o way. We read there was a why I'm one of many former MPD officers, a commentary written by a recently retired Minneapolis police You Tenant for lieutenant from Roseville. Who've been on the force for 37 years. We read this. I believe on Friday. Last week is a friend A show me Where is your friend? But Thursday or Friday? Okay, so we got a counterpoint here that it's been a little bit of time on. Counterpoint. Why I'm one of many seeking justice in Minneapolis. We need Minneapolis officers to be part of the change by Jim Row Water. Jim Raw water is a city attorney for Minneapolis. Now I want to say this upfront. I'm actually gonna jump to the end my end notes here, right Spoiler alert. This is a a hack. Shallow and empty response that counters nothing. Of what that retired officer laid out in that very articulate, detailed and emotional plea to the people of Minnesota, Minneapolis over what the officers are dealing with the lack of support that they received that they're receiving. Right. So the art so so and I spent some time on this. And it goes like it goes like this. I want to write about why I decided a little over five months ago to become the new Minneapolis City attorney. It was one of the most important personal or professional decisions I've ever made. Side for marrying my incredible wife and I felt compelled to tell some of my story here. So then what? What? Jim Row water does it spends about 4 to 5 paragraphs? Just basically laying out his resume. Right group, the city of Chicago. Puerto Rican, kid. Why moving here? Nothing of two. Nothing of significance. Okay, right. So you jump down and you thought you was like, Oh versus substance. Where is the Where is the counter argument to the claims of this retired officer Because she made specific claims, right? You know about about the morale in about the leadership and about the structure and third Precinct and the third Precinct and what happened that night? What happened? In the fall out of the night, and how those decisions made by elected leadership in the lack of support by management leadership have led to her and many others feeling like this is not a job that they can do anymore. Where's the response to that? So, he writes. Minneapolis Police have unfortunately practiced inequitable policing based on the color of one skin for too long decades. At least it has to stop. It has to change now. Today tomorrow and for good But you can't just say that, but that's only does I know you can't just say that? No examples give it out there and be like that. This is why, Because of this thing that I just said, Okay. Where's your data? Yep. Was your examples. And you want to point to Derrick T. O Derek, shoving into George Floyd. That trial still has to happen. There is no evidence right? George Point should be alive. Shouldn't have died. Say that up front got to do that right? And I believe it. And I mean that That being said there's no evidence this was racially motivated, right? We're going to have a try alone. Working to see we haven't we haven't seen all the evidence yet, Okay? Now he goes and talks more about himself. I left my extremely well paid corporate gig last summer, right? I wanted to be a part of the changed all about him. Me and me and me alone. La blah attorney's office. It's all about him. I believe that I'm a damn good lawyer so great. I'm gonna change everything more about him, and then he gets out here. What do we need? Most? Now we need the officers who have decided to stay at the MPD to join us and wanting to bring about this change. Yes, you can throw criticism at the council members is for some of their actions. You can criticize the mayor's Over the years you have not addressed head on the culture problems plaguing the MPD. But none of that is the source of the problem. So we're just going to ignore all that. But what if it is Jim? What if it is Jim, But he's a damn good lawyer Drew. I mean seriously, who does the Minneapolis Police department work for what? Who passes the laws that we ask them to enforce? Who Agrees to the policies and ordinances that we ask them to go out there and enforce who sets the priorities for what parts of town are going to be enforced and what types of crimes are going to be the focus. The City Council's in the mayor's You tool. And here's where it's funny because now we begin to see and I don't know what this happened through us. Moses. I don't know if they got together and all sent themselves an email. But suddenly now we begin to see a narrative in an opinion that cops are lazy. Too many officers are not willing to take ownership of the culture they have created. Oh, it's their fault. So now we're back to the Ilhan Omar. Cops are lazy and unwilling to work. He's repeating that little narrative tail. We have to defund you because you're just so darn lazy. The officers that were involved in George Boy don't have jobs anymore. The officers that it involved in anything that was questionable or horrible. Don't have jobs anymore. Why should the officers take ownership for cultures that they haven't created? Why should good officers out there be punished for nothing that they've done? So it's funny is like cutting paste these right a cut and paste these stories because if I don't use of a lot of paper, and I'm trying to save the environment, right, Okay, so I'm doing the notes and I get to the bottom here, right? This little thing we mentioned I flipped the page expecting Maurine. Oh, no, We're right at the end. That's it. What's it? But what? But what do we get through? What do we get? Bob Crow gets thrown into a you got to mention Bob Crawl means retired now, but still you gotta mention him. Bob. He's the Donald Trump of Minneapolis Police. Everything's his fault. Even when he's gone, it's his fault. Sadly, Bob Crow, the now former police federation president can and does tell them. It's okay. You're not the problem. Someone else is the problem in too many officers. Listen, this has to stop. Uh, listening to those who are truly trying to help like so many people I have encountered now while working at the city. I don't know if you knew this true, but he's he believes that he's a damn good lawyer and left left extremely well paid corporate gig last summer and threw himself into the fire. Yeah, he was in the 26th year of of a great run as a lawyer. A target is vice president and general counsel of employing labor relations. What a hero. I mean, God, I am so impressed with this guy..

"On Jim. Raw meat is quite weak. Not just fight week, but it is a McGregor fight week. You know what that means? We're joined right now by the UFC president. One of the program. You have C 2 57 Por Yai McGregor to from Fight Island Saturday night. 10 P.m. Eastern. It's on ESPN. Plus, we're joined by Dana White. Dan. It's great to have you back, Danny, it is fight week. You had a card yesterday. Now you're two days away from UFC 2 57 and return it. Conner. Dana. How fired up are you for Saturday? Yeah, I'm so part man. You know, we have the press conference today. It was very cordial and everybody was very polite to each other. But I know that these fights are gonna be ridiculous. On Saturday. All right, So, Danny in terms that press conference, I saw the video, You posted the video of the stare down between Connor and dust. And how would you describe the mood in the energy when the two of them faced off against each other a few hours back. Yeah. Great. Great point. You know, the very cordial and everything else but the face off stare down. Was bad ass. It was awesome. It was a good as good of a stare down as you'll ever say We're talking to Dana White. All right, so it's gonna be a rematch. Of course. Take me back. What do you remember about their first fight? What stands out to you the most about the days leading up to that the fight itself. Well, it was obviously a very different atmosphere. These guys were at each other's throat. Uh, you know, both guys trying to get in each other's head, and then Conner went out. On unbelievable performance and knocked him out. We're talking to Dana White. This fight's coming up on Saturday night, Danny, you and I have talked so much in the past about the questions surrounding Connor's motivation, right? I mean, you pointed this out when somebody gets a lot of money suddenly getting hit in the face does not seem like it was much fun. What is your sense is to wear his motivation is right now. And what kind of Connor are you expecting to see Saturday night? Yeah, No, he's he's a completely different kid. Right now. He's the old Connor. And when you're dealing with this, Connor, it makes quite weak really fun. And if you watch the press conference, he has this. Moment where somebody asked him that so? Is the answer to that question was what motivates me. Highlights. He said. You know what money comes and goes and and, uh what fires me up his? We're still watching Highlights of Mike Tyson and Ali and Roy Jones Jr and you know, I'm gonna have so many highlights. You could make a movie out of it. It's just It's the way that he said it on the way he laid it. That was beautiful. And you could tell where his head is that right now, So do you love it? Dana White joining us like I've been watching hype videos. I mean, there really is. Nobody liked this guy, especially when he's right. Like Danny, Do you think that he was there? Some kind of switch that went off? Did he do some deep soul searching? Is something fundamentally change in him? Or does he just missed being the guy? I think he misses. I do think he misses being the guy and I think that You know, this business is crazy and When you when you take some time off on get away from a minute. You start to crave it again. And you want that action. You want to get back in there, and I truly do believe that the kid loves the game. Data. Weitz joining us once again, So Dan earlier this month you had said that your relationship with Connor hit quote a bad place last year. How would you describe where it's at right now? How did you guys go about fixing fixing that? Yeah. I didn't think that it was gonna be flexible. But we did. We're still talking about Would have beaten, possibly fight one more fight. It's you know, this division is exciting. It's fun, and it's never been more more exciting than it is right now. I would agree with you. I think that not only Dana is this division as good as it's ever been. Like i like the underground a cage kinda vibe with the with wrestling being as the spotlight i want. I love segments. But i want wrestling i so 'cause what's in. That ring is art. So i like a. That's my kind of vibe with the style of promotions and a mixture of exte- and a ringtone music. I think you're gonna say you. Wf mtv wrestling society x of the wrestling federation. Alkyl it'd be a hybrid. Take the beep to the ring. The two top heels. I'm gonna go with roman reigns m j f. I think the hottest heels on on the planet right now. I really do At everyone's saying kenny omega his promo work needs sharpening. Afraid for me to even get to. That point. I was doing. I think he he. It's almost like he's joking. I can't take his promo service. Wait for the psych. Like you to believe in your character. Real quick art rains. I believe him. I believe in jeff. They're real assholes. I believe it to top faces. I would choose Of course drew mcintyre. My husband My husband and i don't know if you count him as a as a face or not but This this is actually gonna be shocking. I'm gonna go with I'm gonna big okay. I'm gonna go with big either dude. Hasn't reached his ceiling at all yet. So it put him with. Drew mcintyre the faces. I'm gonna go with that Two tag teams I'm gonna go with the north and the north and i'm going to choose other tech team was originally someone another team but i'm gonna go with. That's rough it's hard. I'm gonna go it just just too cheap pop. I'm gonna go to the north and the street profits. Okay i'm gonna. I was gonna go out of spirit. Fdr but they already chose that. Like she had a good having a really good huron man offer nursing. You'll no one could have imagined the hug. Hugging barely turned to the number one. He'll in mail and l. of the year. So i'm gonna go with that My commentary teams my favorite one. Because it's a mixture of. It's going to get ready for this. Imagine this commentary team right For this this is hilarious. So you have so. You have a moral imagine this more. Nao nigel mcguinness. And you have one more member. That is dawn west off west on west from tna baby rookie. Let's go you can get an aj styles rookie card. You're you got okay. Do you guys remember the spot. Where the fucking hurricane run off the top of the cage. He's like oh. My god like he sells the he sells out man. Of course he is. I was gonna say my today. But nah i'm good championships. I'm going to have a twenty four seven championship napkin. I'm gonna have a the main the main belt which incorporate the belt I wouldn't i would. I would buy main focus with the world heavyweight championship would focus on like you get the pay raise. Like i think. I think i think the days are over where we believe the russell's only care about having a big shiny both around their waists like i want the fact that it's it's it's shown that they have a raise and they get that extra pay for their families. That's why love woman reigns the most right now. The dudes literally selling the fact belt bring him extra dollars and that he supporting his family that way it makes makes matches matter because whenever he has the title on the line. I'm like oh. Is he in about loose income. That shit matters for me. My mid belt would be the x division championship of old night of. Nah not now the x division championship I want the car to be focused on. Cruiserweights exclusively and like.

"Okay. So you may known my guest today as the real life legit president of WCW. Maybe it was easy e uncle, Eric the king of controversy, the brains behind the end W O on and the screen onscreen Jim Raw bestselling author and podcast her. But to me dude, the man that literally changed the way I did radio over a decade ago. Eric Bischoff welcomed the first match I'm associated to be here and I know we tried to schedule this last week or the week before my schedule got a little crazy last week some very unexpected Travel came up from businesswise. So I had the juggle a bunch of things around. So I apologize for the delay and burr grateful for your patients. Hey, man it's all good. I'm just glad that you decided to come on the show. So let's just jump in the first match time machine. WE'RE GONNA go back to the very beginning you grown up in Detroit let's talk early life and where your love pro wrestling came from. Well I grew up. In, an area known as East Detroit. Or was known as East Detroit back. Then I think they've changed the name of it recently over the last decade or so whatever but a ten mile and Gresh it for anybody that's familiar with the Detroit area or east side of Detroit. is the kind of general area I grew up with a very. I would say the lower middle income kind of environment so much suburban, Detroit you know in the fifties and the sixties. It was all you know suburbs that were built very quickly, very inexpensively to to accommodate the tens of thousands of people that were coming in from all over the country to work in the automotive plants. So there was a lot of kind of blow blue-collar Llorente blue-collar kind of communities that I grew up in and actually for what it was. It was a great life as a kid but was anxious to get out and that's why I fell in love with wrestling Saturday mornings, men, and my little brother Mark would be home alone because mom and dad had go to work and mom had to go grocery shopping and we only had one car. So they left the two kids at home and we commanded control the television from about eight o'clock in the morning to the afternoon that my friend is when I felt a little bit professional wrestling. So who are you watching it that point? Who are the stars that are sticking out to you? As. Soon. As a while ago, right We're talking a little over half a century now. Why did you have to ask me that question like age? I have no choice but to reveal how freaking old. You're such a Dick. The first time I've been calling. I would say Bubble resil- was was big at the time Sheikh original originally was big at the time I. Remember Dick the bruiser and guys like that. Those were some of the names but man I was like you know seven eight nine years old at the time. So it wasn't until later on that I started really becoming fans of individual wrestlers when I was seven eight years old I was just I was just a fan of the spectacle I just love watching big guys beat the hell out of each other was better than seeing it in my. My grade school cafeteria. Yeah I just fell in love with that but it wasn't until later on that I started really recognizing stars. Okay. Well, you did A lot. So from growing up kind of digging wrestling as kid like a lot of us did you did a lot of things before you actually got involved in pro wrestling list of things here including. Acting in a training video for bank employees. You did you andro.

"Obviously, the second match on the show pre show and they had a good match fans were not nearly as into it as they were the battle, Royal. I don't know why maybe a lot of them didn't know either guy. I don't know Sammy gets a decent amount of stuff unbeatean. This very much BT crowd because they pop for all the BT spots. But Sabin hasn't really had a lot of exposure savings. Good though. Like I could see and I could see like with Sabin and Jimmy havoc. You know, I mean look, they're on TV four and they're going to be doing a pay per view in the UK at some point, you know, there's no date for right now. But at some point, they're going to do it, and they're going to UK's going to be a market they heavily heavily focused on. So you want knowing that you want a couple of UK guys that you're doing something with. Yeah. So, by the way, neither Dave, I had access to a computer, so we have very spares notes here. So if we miss things, computer, the computer being nor to plug it in, I had nowhere to plug it in, but my battery lasted the whole show are your notes. Then they are they're all messed up. So anyway, we don't have detailed notes here, everybody. So we're going to do. I mean I had I had I I mean I figured I didn't take that detailed notes can figure once he's probably gonna have to watch. I'm going to have to watch it again, which I know you know for the week it because I don't have good enough notes. Yeah. I'm gonna have to watch it again. Yeah. They, they had a match and it actually the crowd picked up there at the end and they work very hard and it built. Well and finish was saving beating gay Vara gave our trained in six thirty hollow missed what's the car got the knees up and then? Sabians finisher. Yes. Even got pin. So no Jim Ross for the first hour and he came out for the second hour. We'll, so they I love the ending of the free show because the ending of the free show is like these guys were arriving, they, they cut that promo Jim raw shows up, and they plays music, which got Jim Ross got a gigantic pop. He didn't get a huge puppy, who got a gigantic pop and. What was it? You. Ty Dillinger insurance. Shawn spears got a really big pop. And the ten thing was really over, especially with them, J F and dreamer. Got a good pop. Got you know, they, they pop for him bringing the weapon, he, he left and he came back with the weapons or the. You know, they pop for that. I mean, there was a it was a crowd, that was improper for, you know, almost anything anyway, but, but I mean, I should say, but yeah. For the most part. Yeah. So the opener on the actual pay per view, so Callen censor Daniels kazarian, the Scorpio sky versus the strong hearts, Lindenman t hawk and Shima, and it was a very good opener. I thought was really good. And the one thing one thing, and this was the thing up and down the show. Is, you know, because a lot of the guys are, I mean, the issue has done a lot of Indies of late, so it's not like they just been sitting at home. But you can see that almost everyone on the card, male and female were in, like the best shape. You've seen him in a long, long time. Yeah. Like, like Kylie. Ray had ads. Britt, Bakker had ads aren't Baker was in ridiculous shape. She really was ridiculous in ridiculously good shape. But so's Franken kazarian yet, forty one. I mean Daniels was in good shape too, but Frankie because Syrian the, the ultra shows and he looked pretty much identical to this. He was in tremendous shape. He was in good. No, I saw him. I was with you. He's he was in no site that I did air. Yeah, I was with you. Yeah. He was a noticeably better shape than that. Then then, you know, and I talked to him about it. And he was note and Daniels to. They're both the knows noticeably better shape. You could tell. That they would ever. It was died down a little bit. And kazarian had a good match. We'll let me they all got a good match. This is a great match. The strong hearts are a great team anyway. Yeah. So, yeah, it was it was really strong match. I mean if you're Daniels, all six of these guys. But also, this was an and this is like gonna happen. But with this crowd SCU super over. Yeah, they were super over the crowd, and they got the opening match on the main show, which is a show where you got to go out there and you got to have a great match and you got to set the tone. It's a it's a stressful spot. Really? And they went out there, and they were great. So. They were all all six you know, 'cause last Meltzer ever finish yet. I know so Lindemann, who was the smaller guy. He's like the least experienced guy in the match, but he's got some real potential. You can see. He's really good worker and t hawks excellent. Yeah. And didn't stick out as a green guy. Oh, no, no, no, everybody. He was. Good Scorpio had a good match. Shema was at his work and shoes on. I mean, seems seems a legend. And I don't think the people they're kind of knew this Shema shemale being alleged. But as it was a really strong match. I mean, the very first spot, they did was just basically Shema calling out Daniels is like the two older veterans getting in there and doing spots, and they were great. And, you know, Daniel's been doing this, a long time, like his knees are just in rough shape. But you would never know watching him, do these matches. He does all of his stuff like sometimes he lands, a little differently to take pressure off of his knees. But he was greatness match. They were all great. And it was a very good opener. Then we add the supposed to be a three way, but turned into a four-way, brandy rose came out and announced that awesome Kong was being added to this match was beige as you said, the all three women, Bert, Bakker, Kylie Ray and Nyla rose in the ring. And then brandy. Comes out and I'm going like and she's all dressed. I thought she was going to wrestle she. Yeah. Yeah. Should gear. And I just thought, oh, she's gonna make she's going to go in there. And then she goes this year, three are going to have a good match, but I want an awesome match. She said, we're awesome. It's like long. I mean as I knew it right away. It's like awesome Kong. And then Khan comes out com. Gotta ridiculous reaction. Yeah ridiculous. She came out and, and, you know, she is. Absolutely great at being awesome Kong. I mean, she's very limited, which you can she's limited, but she's so good at doing what she is able to do now that I mean, she was one of the highlights of the match. I mean Brit Baker was was great in this match Carly was I. guy. Worker the four really. Oh, yeah. Yeah. She was she was very good as well. And. Nile Nile, I wouldn't say was was that great. They did a few good things, but there were points, where I saw would neither rose where she seemed to be not at the level the other three. Yeah. Britt, Baker was we noted was just ridiculous shape. Kylie was as well. They both. Both had ads great shape finish was Brit. Baker hitting Adam Cole's old last shot. Right. The bridges news, you grocery super kick and got the pin over Kylie Ray. So the dentist pinned the girl who smiles all the time in a poetic finish. Okay. And you see you could see that Kylie Ray. Okay. So now I know why Cody said what he said, Kylie Ray is so obviously there because there's a lot of shots WWE that are obvious this one, I don't know if you caught it. But this was so obvious you fucked up Bailey so bad. And we're gonna show you how to do it. That's what this was even though she lost, but her losing was fine. Well, I mean when we talk about losing, like I was reading some of the feedback and, and, you know, there were a lot of people that. It wasn't. They didn't think the Jericho should have gone over. But they were like I can't believe that they beat Kenya Meg on the first show and the only the with all of these matches is they're not going to do a BS finish yet. So people are going to lose on the show and you have to get used to it in, if this were w each show like people will be analyzing every finish like, oh my God. This person got be, you know, they're trying to bury this person or I can't believe that's not how it is here. It's like everybody's going to have to lose everyone's gonna have to lose. They couldn't use park for. Yeah. That's just the way it is. So Kenny, omega losing is not a bad thing somebody to lose that. Well, we're not going to be a D q. There was not going to be account out, but don't you think someone's going to win? Don't you think the first champion should have been Jericho because today I thought I mean all along. I thought the first championship Jerko because the money is in Kenny chasing, somebody beating Jericho, right? But it Kenny Kenny chasing for the championship and having an be a long chase. And then when he finally wins, then it's like and getting the belt over Kenny or Jericho to me like if page wins the belt, you know, nothing against page but I just think it's too early for that one. So I think that, you know. Lineup guys. You know, you've got Cody in there as well that in and Moxley to. I mean to me, it's Jericho because I want the first champion to be somebody who a is a big star. And he's usually. Title. Yes. That's it a big star a he'll. Baby-faced chasing that first big baby face title. Yeah, yeah, he'll he'll for omega chase. Yep. And plus it evens their score up at one to ones that everyone knows about the first match so that leads to a natural third match at some point, and hopefully not that soon. I mean it shouldn't be soon. No, I think that, that should be a nice chase. And I think that omega should go on a big win streak now. Yeah. We had the best friends versus and Heli co and Jack Evans. And I thought it was really good. Evans was great in this match or you were right there. I thought I thought Jack Kevin really strong man good in this match. And I mean everybody looked good. But him him in particular. I just thought it was very good. Yeah. And Chuck Taylor, Chuck Taylor was good too. Yeah. And, you know, and helical was fine in helping Jack Evans have a lot of really..

"Larry first off did did did Warren sign off on. You're putting this, this whole composite sort of edited book together, he did it sort of a neat story. I've done a lot of projects around Berkshire and buffet over twenty five years, and if it concerns him in, in any direct well usually run by most time green lights at once in a while say's. So sure about an idea this when he totally green lighted. And in the beginning, he said, I think it's a great idea. Good luck with it. I don't know if you're actually going to be able to get a lot of people to sit down and write something up. But, you know, by all means, well, six eight months later, we don't do that, that send into him. He said, this is terrific. Congratulations. Very well done so he picked. So he's, he's delighted to speak for him. But he said that, and he's nominated these pick the book for sale inside the bookworm at the exhibit inside the annual meeting, which is a great tribute, and even better, he went and picked, you've been meeting bookworm, thirty books are on sale in a very small and the entrance to the exhibit is framed by blown up three D covers of one or two of the books and this year. That's our book. And you've got forty thousand people walking by that all day long. It's a merchandising you can work one day this year. Basically take the rest to read a buffet actually tracks a how the book self, he does Jim raw throw a black. I guess one of our booksellers contributing explain how warrant thinks about the book selection and then tracking sales is very important part of it. And which, you know, when, when you think about it. Yeah. That's how Warren thinks he's, he's not going to try to force things on people if people like something then he'll offer to them who make independent judgement, obviously, in the beginning. But if something is selling more of it, and, and that's how it's been with the bookworm, and hopefully this book will stay in there for many years to come. And in fact, leads right into the book is really, really through the contributors and everything gives you the ecosystem that's been built around this meeting, and almost is the main purpose for all you guys now is to get together network. How did you how did you pick some of the guys were in it and tell the Joel green bat story? How you. You actually gave away. They gave away five thousand copies of your essays book. Yeah. That's a great story. And we pick these people. We know them obviously, we've wanted to have a Representative cross section of a lot of different kinds of people. So we have professional writers, we have professional investors. We have some professors, we have people who have created parts of the ecosystem, I like that word that you used to describe this, in terms of events book signings, conferences summits, and that sort of thing. So it's a, it's a broad mix of people, so we wanted to have a lot of multiple voices different points of view, and which is kind of neat because even though everyone has their own special take on wonderful particular recollections. They're still this, this ecosystem, this feeling that it's a very particular culture and the story with green, but is great in nineteen ninety eight he and John Petrie, wanted to launch the value investors club, which was going to be a place where. Pick stock using the Graham Dodd method of determining what the intrinsic value of company is and buying it if the it could be bought a very low price. Well at that time that method of investing was very marginalized, because the tech boom was everything was going up and didn't seem it seemed very old fashioned. So they're having a hard time launching value investors club. And they said, we need brilliant marketing strategy. Where are the value investors where do people go? And they said the Berkshire meeting that we go to the Berkshire meeting. How are we going to get them interested at the Berkshire meeting? They said, well, I know Cunningham's essays Warren Buffett is coming out in a new addition, let's, let's by that and give it away. And so they, they called me five thousand copies printed locally, and I drove a u haul truck right up to the front of the exhibit hall of which I don't think you can do today and. John, Joel started handing out for the back of the truck. If got some funny, twists on the story in there in the beginning, no one would take out a free book, and these skeptical value investor slow who be giving us something free. But have a few people took it a few more people took it the word got around the center, and all of a sudden they had lines longer than all all around the corner of the block. So they got rid of all five thousand copies. Great story, Tom gainer, who is, who is the Marquel genius and the baby buffet. If you wanna call them to me, his story was is symptomatic to he didn't he hadn't heard of Warren Buffett he thought it was pronounced buffet. And now you look at it Marquel. That'll be a big presence there. But they're brunch on Sunday. They give thousand people show up of the same weekend. Tom is great guy in his. You're right. His his essay in this book is delightful witty. It's just like him. It's modest. It's quirky, and it's really a success story, so nineteen Eighty-four and east. Tumbled the story in fortune magazine wasn't widely known written about that. And he thought, gee, this sounds like common sense. I kinda like this guy and he goes into his boss and uses. Pronunciation phase out. Turn around to walk across down got a job at Martell. Talk them into Berkshire very interesting companies a little bit like us, we might wanna learn more and he's been coming out here. He said, so our plan was to attract investors to Omaha. Let's go home. All easier to get investors out there who already know this a little bit to try to draw them down to Richmond. So they, they came out and had a brunch. Had six people attended the first year, and you're right now, people attend that thing on Sunday morning, we'll be over there, Sunday morning with, with this book signing copies. And it's it's an amazing event. It's like a mini shareholder meeting within the larger and didn't didn't they, they consummate a deal based on something that was in your bunker. Did. That's a great story too late last summer. Tom called me and said, I really have to thank you. And I said, that's great. What I do. And I had no idea. He said, well, thanks to I in Berkshire beyond buffet. I answer a question. A lot of people ask, which is does anyone follow. The Berkshire model is really unique and answer is it's, it's rare. But there are companies that have emulated the model very successfully. And I mentioned Marquel and explain a little bit about their style and on the basis of that seller of a business of the largest manufacturer of ornamental plants house plants called them and said we interested in discussing transaction proceeded, they close the transaction it turned out because of that page book. So Tom was calling. Thank you for that. Also Tom Russo I've had a chance. I really liked his chapter, because he talks all he's known for enduring moats and things like that. But it's really not as well known as his management development talent, and the ability to do nothing, the willingness to do anything the capacity to suffer short term earnings and then even. Unconditional love and friendship, the things that he got out of that chapter just blew me away blew me away to Tom, obviously, very smart and savvy guy learned about Berkshire from his class, at Stanford law school and Stanford business school. He's been stockholder ever since and he, he gets those lessons about about patience about opportunistic about friendship and relationship gets them from the Berkshire meeting. He probably developed on his own born born and raised in the midwest. Good solid values, but.

"jim raw" Discussed on Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard

"He was being told exactly what to say during the show by Vince McMahon headset, although nobody seems to be able to pinpoint why McMahon likes to needle Ross any knows coach gets to him quote, raw Vinson's playground says one WW insider, he cares. More about having fun for himself. Even if it's at the expense of the product is Ross blame coach though, no says one wrestler familiar with the situation is Ross Ville threatened by coach. Yes, somewhat because he knows coach is more photogenic and Vince likes that. But Ross realizes coaches doing exactly what Vince is telling him to do chat me up. What do you remember about this coach? JR thing how Vince was intertwined in it and how Jim raw really felt about it. Well, Vince was still does I believe producing all of the commentary at that time and trying to help the whole idea behind coach was he was trying to make coach a despised. He'll and be that really nasty heel commentator one way to do that is to go after the most beloved guy in the commentary booth, which was JR. So that was easy to do for coach to be able to pick on JR. I think people, you know, it always cracks me up, and I go back to the Jerry Lawler line of people's events. Just gets his jollies at Ron at the expense of the product. Biscuits jollies, but he won't do it at the expense of the product television time is just too valuable, and he's not gonna do that people think that's what it is. He's doing something. He's doing it for a reason and the stuff with coach that all every bit of that came from bits and it came from way to get coach over as a heel. And he wanted coach to be a character. More of a character on the show. We did the GM stuff with him and the assistant to air at Bischoff which coach proved to be very good at. So here was a sports caster. Whatever the hell he was and Kansas City coming into our world. And I think that coach was one of the most talented guys we ever had in that position. But that was just character development on the spot. Wade would write that arrests are told him, quote, listen to the difference between coach on hey and coach on raw. You can see they're all coach. Naturally plays. When Vince isn't in in his ear on heat versus the role Vince puts them in a position to play when he's on raw it's immature of and none of the boys who actually pay attention to what's going on in the broadcast booth during the matches like it. But what can anyone do? Okay. Solicitor that right there. So the boys don't like it that means that the audience at home probably doesn't like it. So the boys are buying it. They've got heat with it because they like JR in that is exactly the emotion that Vince was looking for and and coach wasn't produced on heat the same way, and he didn't have JR playoff of on heat. One wrestler told way the idea that Ross is being mocked on the air for carrying about wrestling openly being a fan and calling the matches seriously is a real disgrace. It's sad that the writers have time for this. So they can laugh about it during the production meeting rather than getting Ross characters and storylines over. I mean, it's not as if they're doing their jobs riding. Well, right now, if you judge on attendance and Borraiz resulting from there. Earning. So chat me up here. Do you believe that JR was ever marked for carrying about wrestling openly being a fan or calling the matches? Seriously. I believe that the character JR without a doubt, he was by coaching that would again that just emphasized how much JR did care about the product, it emphasized how big of a fan that JR was and made you feel for Jim Ross that much more. It's called being heel commentator, the JR not the character. But the actual JR take any of his heart. Yes, he did. He took it personal. Jim took a lot of it personal because gyms very passionate about his work in gyms an emotional guy in real life. So he took he did he took it personal. Absolutely. He did. But even going back to wearing the cowboy hat Jim thought they were making fun of him. It was something that then saw Jim in that he fell would help Jim now, you can't pry that cowboy hat off JR..
